Evening — April 23 — Isaiah 53:6

We all like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all. — Isaiah 53:6

Human sin is not a minor flaw but a total turning away from God, and no one can claim innocence before Him. Yet the Father's justice was satisfied when the Son bore the full weight of that sin, so that His sheep are not only found but healed. The Shepherd's restoration flows from His own pursuit, not from any merit in the wandering sheep. This is the ground of our assurance: our return to Him is His work, not ours.
