Speaker A: He was born on a Saturday in 73 he loves punk rock music fighting the 13 cabin in the dazzle Jazz on the beat Guitar with the short with radio back his motherfucking envy scrolling look at motherfucker cuz here he comes Andy Sculling wearing his or his hat.
• 0:27
Speaker B: Welcome to unsigned Fun 518. I'm here with another weed episode and I have with me one of my favorites in the cannabis industry, Sammy Sativa. How's it going?
• 0:37
Speaker C: It's going, Andy. I'm having too much fun here in the Dazzle Den all around.
• 0:42
Speaker B: And you've been on the show a couple times, right?
• 0:45
  Speaker C: Once before.
• 0:46
Speaker B: Was it just once?
• 0:47
  Speaker C: Once?
• 0:48
Speaker B: Well, maybe it just. It just felt like multiple times, but at least. At least once. Yeah, but this is definitely your first time here in, in the. In the old Dazzle den, which is. Is so named because I think the word Man Cave kind of sucks. Like, it implies that, like, dudes need a place to like go be like sexist jerks or whatever. You know what I mean? And so I was like, I need a. A non dude name.
• 1:17
Speaker C: This definitely is a dazzle dad.
• 1:19
  Speaker B: Yeah, Dazzle.
• 1:19
  Speaker C: It's a. It's a dude dazzle then.
• 1:22
Speaker B: Yeah, I guess. I guess I am a dude. But. But you know, the Village. I do have the Village People here.
• 1:31
Speaker C: I mean, you can't get any manlier than that.
• 1:33
Speaker B: That's right. That is pretty. Pretty manly. But so we're not here to talk about my Village People poster. Oh, yeah, Madonna. My Madonna poster.
• 1:42
  Speaker C: She's. She's the.
• 1:44
Speaker B: Which is an. Again, an OG. That's a 1986 insert from the True Blue album on the. On the water heater because you got to remember it is a garage. But yeah, we want to talk about weed, obviously. And we have talked about weed before. We've talked about, you know, certain. We were talking about certain brands and we were promoting a store and we were doing. But this is going to be more of a relaxed conversation just about weed in general. And one interesting thing that we were just talking about as we're smoking a joint, getting ready to record, is what you refer to as legacy weed, which is kind of like. Like what would be a micro brew compared to like a Budweiser, you know, something. So, like, there's so many levels within the cannabis industry that there is like a big cannabis quote unquote, and then more mon PA cannabis. So, like, what are, what are your thoughts on. On. On that?
• 2:49
Speaker C: Absolutely. And just to talk about weed. I love weed. Even before wheat, there's always been weed before the industry. So that's what I want. That's what I like. That's what. That's what's really tasty to me. So you can go to any grocery store, but would you rather go with a co op? Would you rather go to the food stand? Why. Why in the spring right now, is everybody growing their own vegetables?
• 3:14
Speaker B: Right. And, like, you almost feel like. Or I almost feel like my perception, you know, And I'm like, old. You know, I'm in my 50s. So, like, I remember, you know, getting weed was a thing for a while, but, like, when dispensaries came about, it was just, like, assumed that it was going to be the best weed available.
• 3:33
  Speaker C: Absolutely.
• 3:34
Speaker B: That was my assumption. I did not question it at all. And it wasn't until I started going to a bunch of dispensaries and started getting more familiar with them. And I was like, yeah, not impressed with something.
• 3:46
Speaker C: I don't like this. It's a little expensive and I'm not getting high.
• 3:51
  Speaker B: Right.
• 3:52
Speaker C: So I find the convenience of dispensaries and legalization movements so that things are easier for people to get is absolutely beautiful thing.
• 4:01
Speaker B: Yes. And the research that they're.
• 4:04
  Speaker C: Yes and no.
• 4:05
  Speaker B: No.
• 4:08
Speaker C: Yeah. Maybe not on the legal side. Save your seeds. Save your seeds. Grow your own weed. But a lot of people that come into dispensaries, especially the younger generation, since we're both so old, is people that never did that. They never sat in a parking lot, they never got ripped off.
• 4:27
  Speaker B: Right.
• 4:27
Speaker C: So they're just going, and they're like, this is great. They don't know anything else to compare it to. I remember I'd get $10 a weed and I'd be high for five hours, and I'm like, well, what was that? Just because I was a little baby or no.
• 4:39
Speaker B: Cause, like, even when I was young, I remember this is like early to mid-90s. I grew up in Vermont, not far from here, like an hour and a half from here or whatever. But there was like this shift in the mid-90s where we went from getting shitty weed that you had to, like, fucking sift the seeds out of. You know, you'd have a magazine, have a magazine on an angle, and, like, try to get the seeds to roll away. And. And then we started getting what we called kind. Kind bud. You know, like, all of a sudden we're like, what is this stuff? It was like, weed, brick, weed.
• 5:14
  Speaker C: And then haze.
• 5:15
Speaker B: Yeah. And as, like, we got. I got older. Like, I. I, like, felt like a connoisseur you know what I mean? And even I had just like the fucking wool pulled over my eyes like where I was like it took me a while to be like this. Not good. Some of it isn't good, some of it's great. I've had some of the best weed I've ever smoked has come from a dispensary. But also some of the most unimpressive.
• 5:42
Speaker C: I absolutely agree. There's, there's a lot of people out there that are doing it right and they always say time tells. Right, we'll see that. But just like food to compare it to food back there. What was I thinking?
• 5:59
Speaker B: Just like a, a comparison of the legacy to the, to the big cannabis.
• 6:05
Speaker C: Yes, that's where we were. I'm getting too high off of my platinum that.
• 6:09
Speaker B: Well, like I was telling you when I did a podcast with Kiki, I got so high doing one of our weed episodes and I couldn't remember her name. So. Yeah,
• 6:27
Speaker C: So a lot of, a lot of the cannabis that you get in dispensaries and everything, a big thing of it is msos, meaning it's multi state operations. We all know about food, Monsanto, things like that. So you have people just mass growing cannabis indoors as fast as possible, as quick as possible, as potent as possible. Are they putting chemicals in it? I don't know, I'm just Sammy Sativa. But they're filling these shelves. There's not enough processing, at least in the state of New York in my opinion to fill up now over 600 legal license dispensaries.
• 7:04
Speaker B: And like the smaller company, you know when you say like the, the states or whatever are, or the multi states operation or whatever, are they doing it under like a fucking brand name or are they.
• 7:16
Speaker C: Absolutely. So on every single New York state product now there's a new thing called Met seed to sale which we all love within the industry. But any legal product that you do buy is going to have a QR code, some kind of scannable for you as the purchaser to scan and you can see what's going on in that flower. My thing to you, I know everybody wants to learn how to. How to. Sorry, I'm losing my tray of thought. Everybody wants to, you know, read their natal chart, read your coas on your weed. A lot of things that get passed so terpenes. That's really kind of like what, what you like. What you're talking about the old weed and everything, Andy, what you like. Those are like high end terps. A taste, not so much about thc there's some things that qualify as a terpene that's wood or lavender to me. To me that's not really like a hard terpene that you want in. In your flower.
• 8:12
Speaker B: Like. And I've had some that are like, like savory. Like it almost had like pine and stuff.
• 8:18
  Speaker C: Absolutely.
• 8:19
Speaker B: It sounds weird, but it almost had like a beef bouillon. Like.
• 8:23
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 8:24
Speaker B: Taste to it. It was. And it was really great.
• 8:27
  Speaker C: Gassy, garlicky.
• 8:28
Speaker B: Yeah, it was really great weed, but it didn't taste like traditional weed and it had, like I said, it was almost like a beef bouillon taste.
• 8:36
Speaker C: So how any, any flour, how anything smells like anything that's a terpenes in it? How pine smells like pine. But when it comes to cannabis, I don't. I want something stronger than that. I want some limonene, limu, you know, mercerine, stuff like that. Real terpenes, not wood.
• 8:55
Speaker B: So, so what's like is those words that you just said, like you could be, you could be reciting a magic spell or something. I've never heard, I've never heard those words.
• 9:05
Speaker C: Those are prob. That's, that's what that pine is that you're talking about in that weed that you like.
• 9:11
Speaker B: Okay, so like those names that you mentioned, those are all like different kinds of.
• 9:16
Speaker C: Absolutely. Different profiles of terpenes. So that's a big thing. You want to learn your terpene profile
• 9:20
Speaker B: what you like, and they don't necessarily correlates to thc. Like you could have a tasty, really tasty fucking citrusy weed that doesn't get you high or a bland tasting weed that gets you blasted.
• 9:35
Speaker C: Absolutely. Either way. Yes. I go to Maine a lot. I'm a medical patient. When I go in, I'm like, don't. What are you smoking? Tell me what's tasty. I want these terps. And they'll. And the bud tender will tell me. This has 2% terps. It says 4% terps off of it. Where to you I understand. It's like, what is she talking about right now?
• 9:53
Speaker B: Yeah, but I'm trying to learn, like
• 9:54
Speaker C: I'm trying to learn more. That's what you want. And then I look at the packages. Anything that I really smoke, quote unquote on those coas in other states and everything. 23, 20%. Nothing higher than that.
• 10:07
  Speaker B: Okay.
• 10:08
Speaker C: And a lot of that I say it's fugazi. It's fugazi.
• 10:13
Speaker B: So like again, I'm someone who when dispensaries first were a thing and, like, I was going to them, like, fairly regularly. You know, I was driving out to Massachusetts and, like. And actually, the first. Yeah, the first one was out in Massachusetts that I went to. And, like, I just looked at THC percentages, got the highest one that I could.
• 10:38
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 10:38
Speaker B: And that's kind of like how I. I mean, is that, like.
• 10:42
Speaker C: That's how. That's how. Not necessarily, but that's how we're programmed to buy everything. You know, this is better because it has this symbol on it. This is better because it costs more money.
• 10:50
Speaker B: So what does the THC percentage actually mean? If there's, like, a sweet spot? You know what I mean? If there's a.
• 10:55
Speaker C: If there's a sweet spot and everything, I would say 18 to 20%, right? Yeah. How everything right now says 30 and 40%.
• 11:05
  Speaker B: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
• 11:06
Speaker C: We'll see what happens.
• 11:07
Speaker B: Like 29 or whatever. But, like, is that kind of like smoke and mirrors? Is it. I mean, could too high of a THC be the one that give you, like, the. Put you to sleep?
• 11:18
Speaker C: So I love hash. A hash hole. Really? Roll it myself. If I buy a hash hole from a dispensary, is it hash? Why is it tested? Who. Who cares? What is it? Real Afghan hash. I would say tests for 90% THC.
• 11:34
  Speaker B: Right, right.
• 11:35
Speaker C: But when I'm buying it out of a mason jar, when I've always bought it. When you bought that great weed, were you saying, hold up, I want a sativa rendica. Is this high THC? No, you said, well, I have $100. Which one can I get? The one that smells better?
• 11:50
Speaker B: Yeah. Or in my case, you know, out in Vermont, we basically. Can I get the one that you have?
• 11:56
Speaker C: You still have that same one?
• 11:57
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 11:58
Speaker C: Does your cousin have it or your brother?
• 12:00
Speaker B: Yeah, that's how it always was. It was funny because it was when I was working at a ski area, and it was one of the. One of the, like, ski instructors that was hooking us up with, like, the really nice weed that we hadn't seen before. And I remember, like, scurrying it back to, like, my friends being like, yo, look at this. And everybody be like, what the is that?
• 12:24
Speaker C: But just going back to the MSOs and everything. Not to be too hippie dippy, but that's what weed is, and we love weed.
• 12:32
  Speaker B: Right.
• 12:32
Speaker C: That's where it comes from. It's a female plant, and any kind of plant, if you take care of it better, it's going to produce better. What's Interesting about weed. What, what you want out of weed, you actually want to make her very angry. So when the girls buds like what we love to smoke and everything, that is that plant producing it because it just wants to be seen more. It wants to be fertilized. And if you don't know that, if you're or everybody knows that even if they're growing it industrial but just doing it, you're not getting what you could get out of it. So these micro growers, these legacy growers, people that are growing two plants in their house, however, there's, it's just, that's the real medicine. That's a real weed.
• 13:14
Speaker B: And I mean that's like the same as like even if you looked at like a, you know, a food, like you were saying, a food industry. Like if you've got industrial corn that is like acres and acres and acres of this, that is just, you know, whatever. Or you've got somebody who has a half acre plot with like corn that he like, you know, you're going there really take care of, that's going to be better.
• 13:36
Speaker C: Know where that money is going to. I always, even with everything I like to say when I spend my money on voting. Yeah, that's how I vote. Vote with my dollars. So I'd rather give them to Andy who's selling weed and you know, tomatoes out of his house.
• 13:50
  Speaker B: Right.
• 13:50
  Speaker C: He's not, he's not.
• 13:52
Speaker B: I not, not anymore. So, you know, legacy growers at. And is there a lot of them? You know, because like the, the big buzz. But like the big buzz was that like a lot of people that have been growing and selling were like the first in line to be able to open dispensaries. And I feel like there's got to be at least a fair amount of them that were hesitant to throw their hat into that, you know, like, absolutely.
• 14:23
Speaker C: Why would you trust. Now all of a sudden you put cuffs around me and now it's like, oh, let's, let's be friends now and make money on this plant. Like what I. That's my personal vendetta against all of that.
• 14:35
Speaker B: No, I mean that's kind of where I was going. It's like how it was like literally like what? Like they were like, oh, we're sorry that we put you in jail. Would you like to sell weed for us?
• 14:45
Speaker C: Like it seems and even that kind of with the rose colored glasses, you as a customer going into. Wow. Dispensaries are open. This is great. A lot of people, many people that I have gotten very Close with. It's like, how could you not that. You know what this is? This. They're making it up for me. They're legalizing it. So why. Why won't I jump in this puddle? And they jumped. And now there's over 600 legal dispensaries in the state of just New York, the city. It is very disgusting. So many of my friends, they will have a dispensary in two spots. Over there's another one. How. How. How can they make money? And we're all selling the same product. We're at the hands of the processors, hands of these brands.
• 15:27
Speaker B: And how it. Like, you know, one person, it's like, ooh, you're a drug dealer. Then the other person is like, oh, everything's cool. Because we said, you know, because we said it was cool. And it's like, it's been the same fucking product the whole time.
• 15:42
  Speaker C: Absol.
• 15:43
Speaker B: Absolutely. There's no reason that I should have been waiting in fucking parking lots for two hours for something.
• 15:50
Speaker C: And it's odd how people treat you. I think everybody thinks this cannabis is just a get rich quick scheme.
• 15:55
  Speaker B: Right.
• 15:56
  Speaker C: And it's not.
• 15:56
Speaker B: It's a tough business because I've already seen dispensaries struggling.
• 16:00
Speaker C: Yeah. Ice tea. Ice Cube had dispensaries down in New Jersey, and he had put into almost a billion dollars. And he's like, I can't. And that's really not all for many, many people in this state.
• 16:14
Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Actually going. I want to go back to, like, the mso. Like, how I, you know, if they're under a brand, is it all under one brand? Or is it like one of those things where it's like, you know, General Mills has, you know, this. This brand and that brand, which has this brand underneath them, which has kind of like that.
• 16:36
Speaker C: Andy, I don't want to say too much.
• 16:38
Speaker B: Yeah. All right. I don't want to get you in trouble, but something.
• 16:41
Speaker C: Something kind of like that. Do your own research, scan your coas, see kind of where things are coming from, and you'll see as a customer, I. I'm not gonna say these names. I say I want to make T shirts with all. All our processors and like this. And everybody's like, everybody in the canvas industry is like, I'll buy that shirt. I'll buy it. You'll see where everything's coming from.
• 17:03
Speaker B: You can trace everything back how far?
• 17:08
Speaker C: Like, forever. So now, with New York State seed to sale, as soon as that seed is put into the ground in any farm anywhere in New York State, where it's legally grown. When it's sold to you in a dispensary, once you scan it, it traces back. So say for some reason you smoked and your whole. But we're smoking this and you get a rash all over and there's no difference. You go and it's like, well, maybe it was a cannabis or you have some kind of reaction or you open it and it's wet. You open it and there's mold in it. I've heard of that. Because if you're not taking the time to cure it and drive it, dry it, because you just want to make money, right?
• 17:42
  Speaker B: Time is money.
• 17:44
Speaker C: And a lot of people sadly don't know what they're smoking. And they think just because it's coming from a dispensary that it's to be trusted. And just because it's in a cute little label, a jar doesn't always mean it's better.
• 17:56
Speaker B: So you should scan it basically every time and scan it.
• 17:59
Speaker C: Ask your friends, ask your budtenders. I'm a fibber. I don't say lie, but I tell my friends, if you go a dispensary, say that you say that you're a Bud Tender out of state, be like, hey, I don't know any of these brands. I'm from Massachusetts, I'm from Vermont, I'm from wherever. I just moved here. That's why my license is New York. But ask them, be like, what, what should I smoke?
• 18:21
Speaker B: Right? Yeah. Because like I said, I've, I've put a lot of faith into dispensaries when they first came out. And now and not again, this is not me on dispensaries because there's a lot of them around that I fully trust. You know that I've met the owners, that I've talked to employees and you know, that I trust. But there's also some that I won't touch because I'm like, you know, my
• 18:47
Speaker C: God, in a way, like a co op, like at the end. Dispensers are really just the, the end of that road.
• 18:54
  Speaker B: Right?
• 18:54
Speaker C: The end of everything. So it, as long as you have a good educated Buntender, which I think there needs to be more of those out there.
• 19:01
Speaker B: And do you think it's just somebody that's just trying to cut corn? You know, some of these that aren't carrying really great brands, are they like just trying to cut corners and being like.
• 19:11
Speaker C: No, they're, they're just trying to survive. Just like back to Ice Cube Cube
• 19:16
Speaker B: or tea or Whatever.
• 19:17
Speaker C: One of the cubes. It's a fight, so you can't just. Some people might be able to survive with just what they would want to smoke on their menus, but not all.
• 19:28
Speaker B: I want. I want to like to talk a little bit about some product, but I. I need, like, a second to, like, figure some out. So we should listen to a song. I'm going to put some music on and we'll. We'll. We'll take a second then. Because you brought. Brought some things. I want to. There's some qu. I have some questions about. About things. So let's listen to a song. Let's listen to. I was thinking of a weed song. Probably the best one would be a Sugar hold song. Let's listen to Salad from Sugar Hold. It's about mixing different kinds of weed.
• 19:57
  Speaker C: I like it.
• 19:58
Speaker B: Yeah. So we'll. We'll listen to that, and then we'll be right back.
• 20:00
  Speaker C: Fruit salad.
• 20:01
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 20:02
Speaker A: Let's mix a salad. I got. You got Take up. Let's mix a salad up. You got something? Let's mix a salad up. Here we are with nothing to do. Nothing left. Figure. Share with me and I'll share with you and we can help each other. Here we are with nothing to do. Nothing but the figure. Share with me and I'll share with you and we could help each other. Sam, This is the end of the song.
• 22:41
Speaker B: I was laughing after. Sativa. All right, so that was Sugar Hold. I. You know. You know, it's funny is I just thought of playing a song right on. On the spot. I didn't even ask him if I could play it. But I'm sure they'll be fine. They'll be cool with it. But, yeah, I want to talk about a couple of the products that you brought and then maybe talk about, like, the different kinds of THC and, you know, kind of what to look for, depending on what you want. But. Yeah, these are. You gave me some pearls. What is that grown? Yes, it's got the, um. I know those are called the umlau.
• 23:22
  Speaker C: Yep.
• 23:23
Speaker B: Yeah, Right. Raspberry lemonade. Sativa. And, you know, we were saying how it's only 100 milligrams per package is all that we can do in. In New York State for the rec
• 23:36
Speaker C: side for right now. Yes.
• 23:38
Speaker B: That'll be fun if it changes.
• 23:40
  Speaker C: Yes.
• 23:42
Speaker B: But yeah, so different. There's different kinds of THC and like, if you are uneducated or, you know, just simply have not really bothered to learn, like, if you wanted to choose a THC to Be sleepy. Or if you wanted something to be more focused or more energized. There's like different THCs for that. Correct.
• 24:06
Speaker C: We call them cannabinoids.
• 24:07
  Speaker B: Okay.
• 24:08
Speaker C: So everybody has a cannabinoid system within their body. If you've ever heard of a runner's high, that's essentially your cannabinoid system treating you how it wants to. It's happy when you run and you feel good and you. I'm actually good. I'm running on about 40 mils right now. Yeah. But cannabinoids are awesome. The other one that I gave you that I said is kind of like a anxiety medication. It's got CBC and CBG in it. So what those are going to do is like really chill you out. You've heard of cbd? Those are really gonna, like, chill you. They're good for any kind of muscles. People use them for seizures. They trade all their kind of crazy medicines for the real medicine. It's awesome, huh?
• 24:57
Speaker B: Like a. Almost like a plant based Xanax.
• 24:59
Speaker C: Exactly, yeah. And a lot of the brands, there's a new one out where. So anything on the rec side, it has to have some form of THC in it. So these new gummies, they have 6mg CBD, 2mg THC. So it is essentially to me like a Tylenol. It's really like a natural medicine gummy. You pop all these, you're not gonna. I was once working with a uneducated bud tender and they took a whole bunch of these gummies. And she's like, I'm about to fall asleep. I'm like, girl, you're riding on 120 mils of CBD, right? She's like, huh?
• 25:33
Speaker B: And that's like what makes you sleepy?
• 25:34
Speaker C: Like, yeah, CBN is actually what makes you sleepy. CBN is like, exactly. There's so much to this.
• 25:41
Speaker B: Never even heard of cbn.
• 25:43
Speaker C: We're gonna have to do a cannabinoid terpene. Little class.
• 25:46
Speaker B: I'm gonna take a third gummy.
• 25:47
  Speaker C: Here, pop them.
• 25:48
Speaker B: Yeah, I'm gonna. Yeah.
• 25:50
Speaker C: So what are these? Just sativas? These are just.
• 25:52
  Speaker B: Yeah, these are.
• 25:53
Speaker C: Yeah, these are just to get you blasted. Yeah, some of them sometimes have THCV in there. What's cool about that is that's kind of like THC's best buddy. Just kind of enhances your high for a little bit longer. It can be an appetite suppressor. A lot of people take it before the gym. Can kind of, you know, wake you up, get you a little feel like weed, caffeine.
• 26:15
Speaker B: And is this something like if someone went into a dispensary with just like that BAS knowledge that was like hey, I want something with THCV in it. Like typically a budtender would be able to, you know.
• 26:28
Speaker C: Absolutely. Even a lot of the product packaging makes it really easy for people and it'll say it on the front of it. It'll say thcv. It'll give a little rundown of like the terpenes or the cannabinoids. My apologies. So yeah, if you don't want to talk to anybody and just look.
• 26:45
Speaker B: Right. So if you have the basic. That that knowledge you could even going through a menu, you could go through
• 26:51
Speaker C: a menu a lot it where you can sort that, you can maybe type it in. But you can only get products without thc. So just a straight CBD product with no form of THC in it. You can only get that at a medical or a recreational dispensary that has a hemp license, which some do, some don't.
• 27:11
Speaker B: Why is. I mean because you.
• 27:13
Speaker C: It's all about money in my opinion. Through New York State it's just another license. It's just a separate license so that you can just have straight hemp derived products.
• 27:23
Speaker B: So kind of almost like a beer and wine license and then a liquor license a bit.
• 27:29
Speaker C: As time goes on. If we'll see the people that have those hemp licenses, the recreational dispensaries will be able to sell clones, things like that. First, I believe they can still legally sell seeds. OCM changes things, right?
• 27:43
Speaker B: Constantly, every single day.
• 27:47
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 27:47
Speaker B: And how is the law like with, you know, I know we're allowed to grow, but like what is the law like with clones? Are clones legal to, you know, are they going to.
• 27:59
Speaker C: Are you going to start selling to recreational dispensaries? I believe they are and everything. As long as you have your hemp license. Is it happening? Not so much. Last year there was all talk that the governor pass were quote me if I'm wrong because I may be but that dispensaries could have basically grower showcases. So as long as they were the brands that they had in the store, if that specific farm wanted to come out and say hey, we're going to do an educational, we're going to sell some clothes to customers, they could do that. Then they changed it and they said the dispensary could do it. It just couldn't be on dispensary property. But it had to be on another business's property, which is like Was a very gray area. But I do find micro people with micro licenses and there are some dispensaries that are micros are able to kind of have that little jump, jump start. So it's just a game of chess. That's what this whole entire industry is. Nobody knows what they're doing.
• 28:57
Speaker B: Right? When you say micro license, like are there, there are different licenses. Like can a dispensary open under different license than another one?
• 29:07
Speaker C: Like, or is there so a dispensary. Say, say I have a dispensary and I'm just making no money. You could buy my dispensary, you could buy my license, you could buy iced teas, you know, license. But a micro can't just like if I have a dispensary and I'm making hand over fist money, I can't go and buy a micro right now. But if they change our laws which is like a two tier, things like that. Meaning that if we own dispensaries we could also grow like Massachusetts. That, that could be a little scary. There's, there's a lot of, there's a lot of big sharks coming in right now. There's a lot of people. Nobody knows what they're doing and even those big sharks with money, nobody knows what they're doing.
• 29:48
Speaker B: Right. But they all know that like and like because I think society has been exposed as everybody loves weed and everybody
• 29:56
Speaker C: does and the dispensaries, the dispensaries aren't going anywhere. They are just going to keep coming. Which I, I love dispensaries. It's. It's awesome. It's so convenient. It's.
• 30:06
Speaker B: I love the convenience. Yeah, I love the convenience and I love how it like the newer batch of dispensaries seem to be like getting rid of the like shame aspect of buying weed. Like there's still some. And it's. And not to call anybody out but it bums me out when I have to walk into a place and I have to walk into this like teeny little six by six room with like, you know, somebody that like lets me in. Like I like the, the big pretty. You know, I like being like wow, this makes me feel like I'm in a jewelry store. Like almost.
• 30:37
Speaker C: You know, I had this. Some dispensaries are old jewelry stores. I talk with somebody recently when I go places, I go to restaurants and I go to the dispensary. I just. We all judge, we say we don't. We do. When you.
• 30:49
Speaker B: Yeah. Oh no, I did. I say this one's cool.
• 30:52
Speaker C: I didn't like that. Oh, this one was like a skate shop. This one's like a, you know, doctor's office. So.
• 30:58
Speaker B: But I just don't like the ones like, I don't like. My thing is. And it's always been my thing with weed is I want. I don't want there to be a stigma. I've never been one to hide my own use. Like, I've never been a. Like, oh, let me sneak away so that nobody sees me do it. I'm like, I don't give a fuck who sees me doing it. Like, and that's always been my thing. And I want to see that lifted, like, you know, the dispensaries to help lessen the stigma. And I just feel like some of the ones that kind of treat it with it with a touch of shame don't do a ton to lessen the stigma.
• 31:35
Speaker C: I know what you mean. I'm out here every day breaking the stigma. I would sometimes do deliveries, and a lot of times they were people that were housebound, elderly, and they were rock stars. They were so excited showing off their bag if it was like a community home. Oh, my goodness. Like, I. I couldn't leave in. In the lobby, oh, this is my girl. This is my weed girl. Showing it off. Where is. If I'm selling it out of my car, are they going to be the same way? So.
• 32:06
  Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 32:08
Speaker C: It comes in the cute packaging and it's all, you know, so it's fun.
• 32:13
Speaker B: It is fun. And like I said, I like the. I like the enthusiasm of bud tenders for the most part.
• 32:21
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 32:22
Speaker B: You know what I mean? Like, you're not gonna like. Or maybe you are. Maybe they exist. But I've never caught a grumpy bud tender, like one time in my job in the world. Yeah.
• 32:33
Speaker C: You just press buttons like at fast food restaurant, and you're just high and
• 32:37
Speaker B: you talk about wheat.
• 32:38
Speaker C: You talk about weed.
• 32:39
Speaker B: I'd love to be able to. Like, that's like, you know, my friends would be cutting me off in a circle of being, like, oh, then this and then, oh, terpenes. Did you know about th eb?
• 32:49
Speaker C: My favorite thing would be when a lot of clients. Clients, customers would come in and say that they went to Woodstock.
• 32:56
  Speaker B: Oh, wow.
• 32:57
Speaker C: And they would tell me their Woodstock stories, and they tell me their weed and their hash. Woodstock story.
• 33:02
Speaker B: Enemy Woodstocks. Five years before I was even born.
• 33:05
Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. And. And just how everything has changed. You know, they'd say, oh, I went on a plane and I put this in places of my body where I don't have to anymore, but where maybe somebody next to me in line or another budtender is like, what are you talking about? Because I've always just come here and bought my vape pens.
• 33:24
Speaker B: Yeah. And just think too, in like another like 10 years, 15, 20 years, like it's just going to be such a norm that it's, it's gonna almost be like how we would look at like prohibition being like, oh, there was no alcohol.
• 33:37
Speaker C: If we go federally legal, it'll be in Walmart.
• 33:40
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 33:40
Speaker C: It'll be in Target. Yeah.
• 33:42
Speaker B: And it should. I'm. I don't know if we would go federally legal.
• 33:45
  Speaker C: I don't, I don't know.
• 33:48
  Speaker B: I'm not, I don't know.
• 33:49
Speaker C: I, I don't want us. That's why I say stick with your micro, see what you want to smoke. Because I mean if Target has a ten dollar Ace, is that, is that the best?
• 34:01
  Speaker B: No, it's probably.
• 34:02
Speaker C: And I love that we laugh. I love that we laugh about these things. But what if in five years we're sitting here, Andy, and we're like, find the clip. Now we have the ten dollar Ace from Target and it's. And we do a taste testing.
• 34:14
Speaker B: Like, I mean it would be, you know, it would be. Yeah, but, but it's probably coming.
• 34:22
Speaker C: Yeah. Save your seeds. If you find, if you find seeds anywhere legal, we save it. That's a, that's.
• 34:29
Speaker B: I've never, I've never grown anything from seed. Like weed wise. I've grown like, you know, vegetables and like from seed, but I never put
• 34:38
Speaker C: it in a paper towel. Some people soak it.
• 34:40
Speaker B: But how do you. There's no way to know if it's male or female until it hits a certain point. Right?
• 34:45
Speaker C: Correct. And that, that's a whole. I have friends that are growers. I have a friend that actually breeds Mal because he does all cross things and make seeds. I can't even tell you about all that. But yeah, it's beautiful. It's awesome. It's such a science and an art and so much of it.
• 35:04
Speaker B: Yeah. But I like to get the feminized clones because then I'm like now.
• 35:09
Speaker C: Yeah. Andy wants an auto flower. Just make it easy.
• 35:12
Speaker B: I had a, I did not like autoflower. We had, I did an autoflower last summer and that thing, I mean it grew really fast.
• 35:22
Speaker C: Some of them are bad.
• 35:23
Speaker B: But I got like, like two blunts worth off off one plant. I was just like, what the is this? Like, it was fast. But it was, it was like a foot and a half tall and like it was. By the time I hung it and dried it and cured it, it was literally like a quarter ounce.
• 35:41
Speaker C: Yes. That's what. I know when, when it's harvest season and all my friends are like, you want to come over for dinner? I'm like, no, I know what this entails. And I'm just gonna. For five hours.
• 35:51
Speaker B: Have you seen those, like those salad spinners?
• 35:56
Speaker C: Yes, they're awesome. I, I have many friends that have. Yes.
• 35:59
Speaker B: I helped a friend do. Do their crop last year and I was doubting it. Like, I was like, there's no way this is gonna, like, this is gonna be garbage. It's gonna trim it. Like, it's gonna be a shitty trim. I was like, it's not gonna look good.
• 36:12
Speaker C: That's what basically the dispensaries use on a large one.
• 36:17
Speaker B: But I was amazed at how it was just good, like, and quick. Like, quick. We're just like, boom. Salad. Spinning some weed. It was fun. I have some of that weed in, in a, in my cupboard over there. Yeah. So this, this plant based Xanax.
• 36:37
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 36:40
Speaker B: What is it? I can't. Plant based pills for relaxation. And what is, what are these? These are just like a. I'm gonna.
• 36:51
Speaker C: So these have 5mg THC and 25mg CBD. So I fib. They have no CBC or CBG. That's what I want to give you. What do these have? Just thc. Oh, these have CBC and thcv. So you should take those tonight. That'll help with any kind of anxiety and make you laugh and giggle.
• 37:10
Speaker B: Yeah. Because I'm going to, I'm going to see Aaron Hark do her comedy tonight for the first time. And, and I'm. I, you know, and you wouldn't think, but like, I sometimes have a little social anxiety. Like.
• 37:23
Speaker C: Absolutely. Or just when you're around a lot of people, sometimes it's just like we're all human and.
• 37:29
Speaker B: Yeah. And I mean it was, it was, it was funny because. And like, this is kind of bad. But like when I, when I drank, I did not have that. You know what I mean? But that was also not a good thing.
• 37:42
Speaker C: And that's what we're taught. Have a shot, have a drink. And then I be myself. Because you're laying down your inhibitions. Or you could just take a little, little gummy, smoke a little joint and hit something.
• 37:53
Speaker B: And I think even my pulling back in my social skills, I think since I stopped Drinking and switched just strictly cannabis. My way is just to not get in social situations as much. And in the beginning, I almost felt bad, but now I'm like, no, I'm just at that phase in my life that when I come out, it's just. It's an event like, you know, rather than someone that's out all the time,
• 38:22
Speaker C: you know, because we're the week before 420 and there are so many events this week. This is. This is Christmas and New Year's for anybody in the cannabis industry. And I know so many people that are like, I don't think I'm going to that. I just want to be in my room with my pet, smoking. I'm like, dude, I know I do the same thing.
• 38:39
Speaker B: But it's like one time I'll come out for cannabis events out for the
• 38:44
Speaker C: kid, like, break the stigma. This is what we need. We can finally smoke places. Smoke in these hippie, dippy places that, you know, we were shunned from.
• 38:53
Speaker B: Yeah, that's what I like too, is being able to stand out on the sidewalk and. And smoke and not have to. Not have to worry about it.
• 38:59
Speaker C: And yes, it's. It's just. It's just relaxing. But yeah, they rent out a lot of places, local businesses for anybody in the industry or people that just, if, you know, you know, Right. I'm hosting a Puff and paint at nine pin on 420.
• 39:14
  Speaker B: I love that.
• 39:15
Speaker C: There's many dispensaries that'll be there. So.
• 39:17
Speaker B: Cool. Then you want to give more information about that? You want to talk about that a little bit?
• 39:21
Speaker C: Oh, not so much. No, no, no. You got to find me Sammy Sativa my events.
• 39:26
Speaker B: Well, perfect, then. How do. That's a great. A great segue. We'll pretend we planned that. How do they find you, Sammy?
• 39:33
Speaker C: They can find me on Instagram @sammyex sativa. And if I ever have any personal events going on and if I'm throwing them, you know how they're going. The links are just in my bio, so grab a ticket, come on by, come hang.
• 39:47
  Speaker B: Awesome.
• 39:47
  Speaker C: Float away.
• 39:48
Speaker B: And you know, before we go, we should talk because this is a Metroland podcast and we have a. Our first Metroland weed event, the can of cruise. And you're going to be there?
• 40:02
Speaker C: Of course. Any. Any capital district, anything. Can of related. Sammy Sativas.
• 40:07
Speaker B: I love that you message when you're just like, you gonna be at. At the can?
• 40:10
Speaker C: Well, I had to make sure. Yeah. I mean, Andy's gonna be there.
• 40:14
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 40:16
Speaker C: Either way. I was gonna be there. Andy.
• 40:18
Speaker B: I, I, you know it's funny because I've lived in this area for 20 plus years and I've never been on, on a Dutch apple.
• 40:25
  Speaker C: You're gonna have a blast.
• 40:27
Speaker B: Like I've been on the Captain jp, you know the, the Troy version, kind
• 40:31
Speaker C: of the same style. This one's better. I, I've actually hosted two prior cannabis events on this same one.
• 40:37
  Speaker B: Oh wow, great.
• 40:40
Speaker C: Just go up and down the water and, and finally we can be the places where it wouldn't be abnormal to drink up there.
• 40:47
Speaker B: Right. You know, but, and I guess like on the boat, anywhere that's not indoors, you can correct.
• 40:55
Speaker C: Yeah. So up top it's kind and that's how a lot of these things go. It's like respect the space wherever you're doing it at. But at the same time, any, anything else, you can go in with a bar, have a drink or two and then hop in your car.
• 41:07
  Speaker B: Right.
• 41:07
Speaker C: What's, what's wrong with this? We might just giggle a little more. Actually we're probably gonna stop it. You know Wendy's on the way home.
• 41:14
Speaker B: On the way home.
• 41:15
  Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
• 41:16
Speaker B: But it's like a two hour, a two hour thing, like six o' clock or whatever and we go out and we'll be awesome.
• 41:23
  Speaker C: I'm very excited.
• 41:23
Speaker B: DJ and come find me.
• 41:25
  Speaker C: I'll have my puffco. I'll.
• 41:27
Speaker B: Yeah. And smoke with me. Come find me and smoke with me. Because now that, now that you brought me gifts, now I'll roll a bunch of joints.
• 41:34
Speaker C: Oh, forget this stuff. Forget this. This is, this is for the, the Daz.
• 41:39
Speaker B: All right, all right. Then I'll just sidle up to, to Sammy right when I get there I'll be like, yeah, yeah, I'm hanging out with her.
• 41:46
Speaker C: I'll bring you, I'll bring you another satchel full.
• 41:48
Speaker B: Nice. Awesome. Looking forward to it. So yeah, so come see Sammy and I at the can of Cruise. I'll, I'll put a link in the show notes on this episode so you can just click on it and get the tickets right through there. So Sammy, thank you so much. You know, once we wrap up here, I think we should probably smoke another one.
• 42:11
  Speaker C: Absolutely.
• 42:12
Speaker B: Once we don't have to think about talking and stuff. But thank you again for your time and is there anything you want to add before we wrap up here?
• 42:21
Speaker C: Not so much. Thank you, Andy. As always. I'm excited. We're going to be doing some more weed stuff soon. And stay high.
• 42:28
