Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 2: My name is Trevor Matthews, founder of RefrigerationMentor.com. Over the past decade, I've trained tens of thousands of refrigeration technicians and contractors on supermarket refrigeration, and I've seen the same problem across the industry. Technicians are under pressure, second-guessing, and getting stuck on jobs too long.
- 0:03But after you get all that, the checkpoints that you need-- that I recommend you do is Let's start with the basics. So you need to get your suction pressure and your suction temperature. These are the, the go-tos to understand what's going on in that compressor. We're gonna need to get a few more things.
- 0:06In Europe, you are now using the A-A12 refrigerants, which have a lower GWP than like say four four eight, four four nine. S-so we've seen this transition happening over the last few years. It came into effect with the AIM Act in the US. Canada still hasn't changed. We still can use four four eight, four four nine, but we see a lot of the manufacturers here moving towards A12s and selling A12 systems now So after you get that check, you wanna do a t-- pressure check at the outlet and get your subcooling if you can.
- 0:09There are some refrigerants that have a massive glide. So what we wanna do is now check the superheat at the outlet. From there, we have a lot of checkpoints. If you have any filters inside there, you wanna check the temperature acro-across it, or if it has pressure proin-points, you can check the pressure across it.
- 0:12We're not adding gas because we're not maintaining, because we're not pulling down temperature fast enough. We have to look at what the cause is, the series behind it, and doing these step-by-step approach is really, really what's going to help you out.
