- 0:28Speaker 2: Star Trek Podcast. I am one of your hosts, Dan Wolverine,
- 0:33Speaker 2: Logan Bardo with me a strong Beard, Deadpool, and just
- 0:39Speaker 2: some guy named Daniel.
- 0:40Speaker 1: That's right.
- 0:43Speaker 3: What's up?
- 0:44Speaker 1: What's going on? Guys?
- 0:46Speaker 2: What's up?
- 0:46Speaker 1: What's up?
- 0:47Speaker 2: What's up?
- 0:48Speaker 4: I feel like this is the first time in a
- 0:49Speaker 4: long time it's been just us, like all three of us.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Just yeah, three of us.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no crazy four hundred show or one of
- 0:59Speaker 4: the off on a cruise.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I gotta change you gotta change the number in the back.
- 1:04Speaker 2: You gotta make it four oh one.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I have to change it every time. Okay, I'll
- 1:10Speaker 3: put missus Strongbeard on that, all right, that'll be your job.
- 1:16Speaker 3: We're gonna need to give her produce the credit though,
- 1:18Speaker 3: Ladies strong Beard, ladies, Lady strong Beard.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I think she might have thoughts about that.
- 1:31Speaker 1: How are you guys doing all right?
- 1:34Speaker 3: Doing good? I'm doing good. Went on a went on
- 1:37Speaker 3: a motorcycle ride yesterday with the neighbors and some folks
- 1:40Speaker 3: from their church, and it's sort of the first time
- 1:43Speaker 3: that I've been on a motorcycle since I had my
- 1:45Speaker 3: little accident last month.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, it was. It was good to get
- 1:50Speaker 2: out and yeah, well good good. So Friday was my
- 1:55Speaker 2: my wedding anniversary.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, congratulations.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Years, thank you, thank you. So I took Friday off.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Plan was to pack the kids up, head to my
- 2:05Speaker 2: parents' house, have lunch, swim in the pool, and then
- 2:09Speaker 2: they would watch the kids and my wife and I
- 2:10Speaker 2: would go out go out for dinner. So we got there,
- 2:14Speaker 2: my son immediately began running a fever. He spent three
- 2:18Speaker 2: hours on my mom's couch. We had lunch, put the
- 2:21Speaker 2: kids back of the car, and came home.
- 2:22Speaker 3: So yep, that's the only way it could have worked out.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Yeah, people, you know, and I saw this. I saw
- 2:29Speaker 2: this meme shortly after. I saw this beab shortly after
- 2:32Speaker 2: it said, we still do stuff even though we have kids.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It's just always ruined now, right.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Oh man, hopefully you guys can go out another night.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Yeah, make up date.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll figure it out. Yeah, Okay, I did go
- 2:55Speaker 2: to Uh I did go see Deadpool?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, me too.
- 3:01Speaker 2: By myself, I said to my wife, I can't I
- 3:06Speaker 2: can't take my son to see this. No, it's but
- 3:09Speaker 2: it's going it's going to be ruined on the internet
- 3:12Speaker 2: about twelve hours. Yeah, yeah, are you cool if I
- 3:15Speaker 2: just duck out for two and a half hours and
- 3:17Speaker 2: go see this movie? And she said, no, that's fine.
- 3:20Speaker 2: So the funny thing people always bitch about how expensive
- 3:24Speaker 2: you know, the movie going experiences. I cracked the code.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Go by yourself, go right after dinner, order no food
- 3:34Speaker 2: and drink.
- 3:35Speaker 3: There you go.
- 3:36Speaker 2: It's twelve bucks. That's it.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yep.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yeah. We have a discount theater near near Us about
- 3:43Speaker 3: about a half hour away. And so you know, even
- 3:46Speaker 3: after getting the tickets online where there's a little service
- 3:49Speaker 3: charge for my wife and I was only twelve dollars
- 3:51Speaker 3: for the tickets. Oh and of course we had to
- 3:53Speaker 3: get the special buckets and the special no no, I
- 3:58Speaker 3: got the cup and the popcorn bucket was it was
- 4:01Speaker 3: a metal tin. So I'm like, yeah, I gotta do
- 4:04Speaker 3: it all right.
- 4:07Speaker 4: See, I just use that pass and it's great. It's
- 4:09Speaker 4: like twenty bucks a month and I can go whatever
- 4:12Speaker 4: I want.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Yeah, someday I might break down and do that.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't go enough for that though. I'll go
- 4:20Speaker 2: two three months sometimes without going.
- 4:22Speaker 1: To the movies, right, yea just makes sense.
- 4:25Speaker 2: There's not stuff that I want to see.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Well, there's certain movies that I don't need to feel
- 4:29Speaker 3: the need to see in the theater, you know, Like
- 4:32Speaker 3: I don't know, I want to see fly Me to
- 4:34Speaker 3: the Moon. That looks really interesting, but I don't really
- 4:37Speaker 3: have a desire to see in the theater. I'll wait
- 4:39Speaker 3: till it's on you know, on demand or something.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It feels like a Netflix movie.
- 4:42Speaker 2: So speaking of it does speaking of movies, So I
- 4:47Speaker 2: hit a yard sale yesterday. Oh, and I acquired I
- 4:51Speaker 2: acquired something interesting. I acquired a box of DVDs. I
- 4:57Speaker 2: got about one hundred and sixty DVDs for tw So
- 5:00Speaker 2: if you do the math, Oh, it gets better seat
- 5:04Speaker 2: do the math. If you do the math, it's like
- 5:05Speaker 2: thirteen cents each. Yeah. However, every one of these DVDs
- 5:11Speaker 2: is not in standard packaging. It's in like cardboard packaging.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And they all say they all say for your consideration
- 5:21Speaker 2: on them. These are all the discs that are mailed
- 5:25Speaker 2: to UH to Academy members for Yeah.
- 5:32Speaker 3: What are those called. They're called something scan. Yeah, but
- 5:36Speaker 3: there's different types of screeners. There's screeners that you know,
- 5:40Speaker 3: they send to the studio executives and it's an unfinished
- 5:43Speaker 3: cut of the film because they want to know, you know,
- 5:45Speaker 3: how's this movie going, how's.
- 5:46Speaker 2: This movie going? These aren't that These are the ones
- 5:49Speaker 2: they send to the Academy. Yeah, you know, on the
- 5:51Speaker 2: back some of them have they list, like all the
- 5:53Speaker 2: categories that it's nominated for and and stuff like that.
- 5:57Speaker 2: So for movie buffs, it's you know, there's only a
- 6:00Speaker 2: few thousand of these out there.
- 6:02Speaker 3: That's better than a standard DVD and standard packaging.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, exactly, especially when I checked eBay and saw
- 6:09Speaker 2: what someone we're going for.
- 6:10Speaker 1: So oh there you go, you know, right right now?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Have you watched some of these movies, are you? I mean,
- 6:15Speaker 3: they're not like bootleg corn or anything, are they?
- 6:17Speaker 2: No, they're not bootleg. I watched one last night, which
- 6:20Speaker 2: is funny because I'm like, hey, I've been waiting for
- 6:22Speaker 2: this to be streaming somewhere that I subscribe to, and
- 6:25Speaker 2: it's not. I watched the movie Richard Jewel. Have you
- 6:29Speaker 2: seen that about it? I want I want to see it.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It was actually really actually it was actually really good
- 6:36Speaker 2: and it was a regular like full quality DVD, except
- 6:40Speaker 2: about every thirty minutes a thing comes up on the
- 6:42Speaker 2: bottom that that says, this disc is encoded with your number.
- 6:46Speaker 2: If you give this, if you give this away, we're
- 6:48Speaker 2: gonna know who you are when you're done watching it.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Bring it in half and throw it in the garbage.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and it just it got me.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It got me thinking, they don't have my number. They
- 6:58Speaker 2: got the lady who sold them to me, her number, whoever,
- 7:01Speaker 2: whoever she is.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But it also got me thinking, I'm looking at the
- 7:05Speaker 2: dates in some of these movies and none of them
- 7:09Speaker 2: are newer than five or six years. Okay, and then
- 7:12Speaker 2: I'm thinking to myself, they probably don't even do this,
- 7:16Speaker 2: yeah anymore. They send a link, They send a link.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember when we did the when we reviewed
- 7:23Speaker 2: the Deep Space nine documentary. Yeah, you know, there was
- 7:26Speaker 2: no screen or desk, it was. They sent us a link.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And I don't remember how long it was good for, but.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't remember.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Yeah, they did that too with that the William Sadler
- 7:37Speaker 4: film that I ye when I did that interview. Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 4: they's just sent me a link to his movie.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Yeah, huh. Interesting.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah, they do the common one is what I've seen
- 7:48Speaker 4: is Vimeo. You can password protect a video. Yeah, so
- 7:54Speaker 4: they just send you the link and the password and
- 7:56Speaker 4: you click in and it says, you know, good and
- 7:59Speaker 4: watch it.
- 7:59Speaker 2: So what I was worried about because I know years
- 8:03Speaker 2: ago I said Scott's probably wear this. I stopped at
- 8:05Speaker 2: a truck stop and they had DVDs there where you
- 8:10Speaker 2: have to peel this film off the disc before you
- 8:13Speaker 2: play it. And once you peel the film off, the
- 8:15Speaker 2: disc starts degrading. You have like four days to watch it,
- 8:20Speaker 2: and after four days the disc is no good.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Oh well really, no, I've never heard of that.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Yeah. They advertise it as they called it, like the
- 8:29Speaker 2: no return rental, So you're renting the movie, but you
- 8:31Speaker 2: don't have to bring the disc back because you know,
- 8:34Speaker 2: I'm going to be four states away when when I've
- 8:38Speaker 2: watched this thing.
- 8:39Speaker 3: So I was afraid.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I you know, I wanted to test some of these
- 8:41Speaker 2: to make sure that's not what this was. And I don't.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I don't have a box full of you know, blank
- 8:47Speaker 2: blank DVDs right right right anyway, That.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Makes me wonder if that's what I have, because I
- 8:55Speaker 4: have a screener as well. That got sent to me
- 8:57Speaker 4: years ago. But it's like some move we have never
- 9:00Speaker 4: I've never even seen it, Like he got sent to
- 9:03Speaker 4: me and I was like, this looks terrible. I watched
- 9:06Speaker 4: the trailer.
- 9:07Speaker 2: No, it was called Batman Versus Superman.
- 9:10Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, it's like some indie comedy called
- 9:15Speaker 4: five Star Day about like meeting people with the same
- 9:19Speaker 4: zodiac sign as you.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Like, I don't understand it.
- 9:22Speaker 2: It sounds amazing.
- 9:23Speaker 3: It's still a better movie than Batman and Robins that
- 9:30Speaker 3: in Mexico, tickets are only four dollars for the movies.
- 9:35Speaker 2: What's that? In Mexico tickets are only four dollars, Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 2: the movies. All right, I'm still not going to Mexico.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You would not be saving money for that trip. Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 1: all the costs and all that.
- 9:50Speaker 3: No network, All.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Right, what do you do today? I'm going to Mexico.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I really want to go see that movie.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Yeah nope, yeah in Spanish.
- 10:01Speaker 4: See all right, Well let's get the Star Trek news.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do that Star Trek news.
- 10:13Speaker 4: All right, So our first news story comes to us
- 10:15Speaker 4: from trekmovie dot com.
- 10:17Speaker 1: We will get into the San Diego stuff, guys.
- 10:19Speaker 2: First kind of something happened in San Diego, then I'm
- 10:22Speaker 2: not Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 4: A lot of announcements came out to San Diego, I know, yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But first story comes from.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Trek movie and Christopher Pine is talking Star Trek four
- 10:32Speaker 4: again and he says it should have less shit exploding
- 10:38Speaker 4: if they do it. He uh he kind of he
- 10:43Speaker 4: said this before honestly, and other interviews that you know,
- 10:46Speaker 4: Star Trek's more about heart and uh yeah and cerebral
- 10:50Speaker 4: and you know, you can't force it into a billion
- 10:53Speaker 4: dollar franchise. You have to let it be what it is.
- 10:56Speaker 4: So what a strange concept. But yeah, still the same stuff.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Though we don't know Star Trek four will ever happen.
- 11:05Speaker 4: They're all down to do it, but you know, it
- 11:08Speaker 4: is what it is at this.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Point, you know, like a sick or injured horse, they
- 11:12Speaker 3: need to shoot it, kill it, barrier. We I don't
- 11:18Speaker 3: ever want to talk about Star Trek four ever again. Yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 3: I don't think we'll ever get it. I think they'll
- 11:23Speaker 3: just reboot it before. I don't think we'll ever get
- 11:26Speaker 3: it at this point. Yeah, but they keep going. It's
- 11:29Speaker 3: you know, they keep treating it like an injured pet,
- 11:33Speaker 3: like okay, you're gonna be okay, you're gonna be okay,
- 11:35Speaker 3: We're spend some money on it. We're gonna No, this
- 11:38Speaker 3: is Star Trek fans don't want it. I mean, you know, yeah,
- 11:43Speaker 3: it'd be cool to have you know, Anything's Trek, right,
- 11:45Speaker 3: But we've been hearing so much garbage about this, you know,
- 11:49Speaker 3: from Quentin Tarantino to Front and people like Chris Pine,
- 11:53Speaker 3: Oh we're making it, and people like you know, Zoe
- 11:55Speaker 3: Sadana and Chris Pine and are like what they're what
- 11:59Speaker 3: they're doing? They're doing what now?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Paramount just told them, Hey, we're gonna do it.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Oh we are, yeah, exactly, like stop it just stop yeah,
- 12:08Speaker 3: shoot it, kill it, bury it.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah, well we'll see what happens with it.
- 12:13Speaker 4: But the other thing, too is Simon Pegg also said,
- 12:16Speaker 4: because he's been interviewed because of Comic Con, you know
- 12:20Speaker 4: that if they do this movie, it's gonna have a
- 12:22Speaker 4: dirt cloud over it because of Anton of course.
- 12:26Speaker 1: So you know that's the other thing.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Like, because they've got two options they've and they're both bad.
- 12:33Speaker 3: You could either recast a character or you could somehow
- 12:35Speaker 3: write them write the character out right right. Yeah, both
- 12:40Speaker 3: seem like they would be kind of cheap. Yeah, with
- 12:43Speaker 3: that kind of an ensemble cast.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah, and then our next news story comes to us
- 12:49Speaker 4: from Red Shirts Always Die. This is coming out of
- 12:52Speaker 4: San Diego. But I just thought it was kind of
- 12:54Speaker 4: fun to show this. They had a giant booth where
- 12:57Speaker 4: you could see some Star Trek props and that was
- 13:01Speaker 4: pretty neat, so I wanted to show these a little bit.
- 13:06Speaker 4: They had Captain mccard's chair, the original from TNG. You
- 13:12Speaker 4: could see the el Cars panels there. They also had
- 13:17Speaker 4: the Sherlock hats that Data wore in the pipe. Yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 4: so it was kind of neat. You know, a few
- 13:27Speaker 4: other things, but those were the big things. People enjoyed
- 13:30Speaker 4: the scene.
- 13:31Speaker 2: They keep finding this stuff. You know, they sold it
- 13:33Speaker 2: all fifteen years ago, right, It just keeps turning up, like,
- 13:38Speaker 2: oh oh.
- 13:38Speaker 3: We had another one, right.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Oh my god, Alejandro, I want Christopher Nolan to do
- 13:44Speaker 4: the reboot.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Oh boy, oh boy.
- 13:48Speaker 1: That would be interesting. It wouldn't make any sense, but
- 13:52Speaker 1: it would be interesting.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I mean, he's got the talent for that kind of stuff.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Look with Batman, right, you know, I mean.
- 14:06Speaker 4: He could do it. It would be interesting, for sure.
- 14:11Speaker 4: I don't know who I would want to direct.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It though, yeah at this point not.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Or JJ?
- 14:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 14:22Speaker 3: I mean do we I know who the fans would want.
- 14:27Speaker 3: They would want Jonathan Frakes. But do we do we
- 14:30Speaker 3: hand over the reins of such a huge, you know,
- 14:34Speaker 3: money deal to Jonathan Frakes? Hey?
- 14:36Speaker 2: How many? How many movies did how many Star Trek
- 14:39Speaker 2: movies did Leonardnymoy direct? He did three and four?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Right?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Yeah? Do you want to resurrect Leonard Nimoy and have
- 14:49Speaker 3: him direct the new Star tru No? No, smart ass No,
- 14:54Speaker 3: but could could tractually? William Shatner's entitled to whatever Leonard got.
- 15:00Speaker 3: So Shatner only directed one movie, right, so.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He could roll up and be like, I got this fellas,
- 15:06Speaker 2: Oh my god, I'm directing the next one, and uh
- 15:11Speaker 2: you have to let me.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 15:15Speaker 1: For who to direct it?
- 15:17Speaker 2: What's that?
- 15:18Speaker 1: I have an idea of who should direct it?
- 15:20Speaker 3: Who?
- 15:21Speaker 2: Ron Howard run Howard?
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:25Speaker 3: I like it?
- 15:26Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, yeah, yep, I like it. Jasmine says his
- 15:32Speaker 4: head is getting bigger? Is he talking about Shatner or.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Scott or.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I haven't said anything.
- 15:40Speaker 1: He's just waiting.
- 15:42Speaker 2: He's just.
- 15:45Speaker 4: And speaking of big head our last news story. I
- 15:48Speaker 4: don't know if you guys know the new Bio watches Nubio.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I guess they're high end watches. They're coming out with
- 15:56Speaker 4: a Star Trek line.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Uh, these are them.
- 16:02Speaker 4: They retail for up to nearly fifteen each watch, and
- 16:08Speaker 4: these will be the new ones. Right now, they're on
- 16:10Speaker 4: sale for nine fifty.
- 16:12Speaker 2: But yeah, they know that.
- 16:16Speaker 4: There's a clock on everyone's phone, right right, right right,
- 16:23Speaker 4: But yeah, these are the brand new watches.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I'm not a watch guy. I don't know about you guys.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Not really.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I I wear watches. I wear, you know, the cheapest
- 16:38Speaker 2: digital watch right that I can find, because it's literally
- 16:42Speaker 2: for doing this and nothing else. Yeah, and if it
- 16:46Speaker 2: gets banged up at work, it goes right in the trash.
- 16:50Speaker 2: So I do have.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I only buy time expeditions. That's all I get. This
- 16:56Speaker 3: is like my fifth one in the last twenty years,
- 16:59Speaker 3: and they're forty dollars watches.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I have a couple of nice watches that I've gotten
- 17:04Speaker 2: as gifts over the years. I have a silver like
- 17:08Speaker 2: Superman's got the Superman emblem in it. But it's like, okay,
- 17:10Speaker 2: a couple times a year where I wear a suit
- 17:13Speaker 2: and I want to look nice, and I'll put on
- 17:16Speaker 2: a nicer watch. But right, you know, I'm not that
- 17:19Speaker 2: guy who opens his closet. There's fifteen different watches for.
- 17:23Speaker 3: You're not Tony Stark.
- 17:24Speaker 2: No, no, yeah, and apparently Tony Stark is not Tony Stark.
- 17:28Speaker 1: So oh yeah, yeah, yeah that came out.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I have that written down in my notes too.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. I imagine we would get into that.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but yeah, these are the.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Watches, they're new. If you're interested, how are they.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Not calling them chronometers?
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah they should.
- 17:50Speaker 4: I imagine there are some watches out there that are
- 17:52Speaker 4: start trick that have been called chronometers.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but yeah that's I hear that.
- 17:58Speaker 3: And all I can hear is Kernel West from Star
- 18:02Speaker 3: Trek six.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Frankly, we can clean their chronometers.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yep.
- 18:10Speaker 1: That's awesome. All right, well let's uh, let's get.
- 18:15Speaker 4: To the main topic. Unless you wanted to bring up
- 18:17Speaker 4: You're Robert Downey Jr. Story real quick, Scott, Yeah, yeah.
- 18:25Speaker 1: No, I don't.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I don't think I know anything more about it than
- 18:27Speaker 3: you guys do. Just you know, at Comic Con they
- 18:30Speaker 3: revealed who the new Doctor Doom is going to be,
- 18:34Speaker 3: and they brought a bunch of people up on stage
- 18:37Speaker 3: and one of them walked forward. He was wearing the
- 18:39Speaker 3: Doctor do mask, and he took the mask off and
- 18:41Speaker 3: it was Robert Downey Jr. So my guess is, like,
- 18:49Speaker 3: you know, alternate quantum universe thing.
- 18:52Speaker 4: I imagine he's going to be a variant. I imagine that.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I imagine we'll get the real Doctor Doom for Secret Wars
- 19:03Speaker 4: that Battle World.
- 19:05Speaker 3: You know. Well, in the background it said like Avengers.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Doom, Avengers Doom, Doomsday, Doomsday, and I mean I figure,
- 19:14Speaker 2: I mean he defeated Superman, he can defeat the Avengers.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Guess.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So, yeah, that's gonna be very confusing for people.
- 19:25Speaker 4: Yeah, direction to the review.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah, the crowd. The crowd went nuts without knowing what
- 19:31Speaker 2: they were going nuts about, because we really don't We
- 19:34Speaker 2: really don't know anything except that Robert Downey is juniors
- 19:38Speaker 2: in this movie. So is he playing Tony Stark who
- 19:41Speaker 2: becomes Doctor Doom in a different timeline, or is Robert
- 19:48Speaker 2: Downey Junior playing Victor von.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Dum right right right? Yeah, who don't know?
- 19:56Speaker 4: Oh, this is interesting. So there's more from the Hollywood Reporter.
- 20:00Speaker 4: He's gonna be playing Doctor Doom for two movies, two
- 20:02Speaker 4: Avengers movies. So he'll be in both of them, Doomsday
- 20:08Speaker 4: and Streaker Wars.
- 20:09Speaker 3: See Cassidy Robert Downing Junior. It makes me think that
- 20:14Speaker 3: he's not playing Victor von Doom.
- 20:17Speaker 1: M hm, he's Tony von Doom.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Tony von Doom, Yeah, Victor Stark.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I don't really know what to make of this. I mean,
- 20:26Speaker 3: I'm glad to see Robert down and Jr. You know,
- 20:28Speaker 3: I'm sure he'll do all kinds of magic no matter
- 20:31Speaker 3: what he does.
- 20:31Speaker 4: But yeah, I saw somebody complaining that, like, oh, they
- 20:36Speaker 4: should have saved it for the movie. And it was
- 20:38Speaker 4: revealed in the film that he takes the mask off
- 20:41Speaker 4: and it's Tony, you know, and that's how you know
- 20:44Speaker 4: it's you know, Robert Downey Junior is playing Victor von Doom.
- 20:47Speaker 4: But like, there's no way you'd be able to keep
- 20:49Speaker 4: that secret.
- 20:50Speaker 2: No, they they need they need the hype.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they need to get at the lesson seeds.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yeah. So other than Deadpool and Wolverringe, it's been pretty uh,
- 21:02Speaker 2: they've had some lackluster things as yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Absolutely, yeah, yeah, no, uh no, Shane she too yet.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I want the other one Eternals Turtles.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that guy's just in the ocean. Yeah, just sticking out.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Nobody cares, although they're saying, they're saying that that's where
- 21:26Speaker 2: that's how adamantium is going to make. Yeah, its appearance
- 21:30Speaker 2: in the mc U.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Sure, why not start.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Mining mining that hand that's sticking out of the ocean.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Because all the nations wanted the vibranium and so okay, yeah,
- 21:44Speaker 4: all right, well let's get to the main topic. Fun
- 21:47Speaker 4: will now come out, all right. So for our main topic,
- 21:55Speaker 4: there was a big paramount panel and we got all
- 21:58Speaker 4: sorts of stategic announcements, so we'll kind of go through
- 22:02Speaker 4: them one at a time. Uh So, the first thing
- 22:05Speaker 4: on the list is we got the clip from a
- 22:10Speaker 4: Stranger Worlds the next season.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Agree, you're cutting out a lot so I don't know
- 22:16Speaker 2: if you're scrolling again, but yeah, I'm here, Okay, Yeah,
- 22:20Speaker 2: you're cutting it out.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it's because I was bouncing around to look at
- 22:23Speaker 4: the other thing to make sure I've.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Had it right.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Strange the World season three, we've got a clip from it.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I did, Yeah, I did.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Okay, I thought it looked fun.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, it does. It does look fun. And
- 22:38Speaker 2: this is quickly becoming the fun star Trek Show, Yeah,
- 22:42Speaker 2: aside from lower decks. Yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 1: So for those of you who didn't watch the clip.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Uh, basically, they have to take some sort of injection
- 22:51Speaker 4: and uh, four crew members Pike and a couple others,
- 22:55Speaker 4: Chapel and a few others have to become vulcans for
- 22:58Speaker 4: some mission.
- 23:00Speaker 1: And it's it's a pretty good long clip. It's like
- 23:02Speaker 1: five minutes.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 4: And so they have to go down with Spock and
- 23:06Speaker 4: they give him all sorts of crap.
- 23:09Speaker 2: They keep pointing out, they keep pointing out that he's
- 23:11Speaker 2: only half vulcan.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Four and a half falcons to beam down.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Yes, no, no, no, four and one half falcons for and
- 23:19Speaker 2: one half falcons to beat down.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Oh god, And they're supposed to go on this big
- 23:24Speaker 4: elaborate mission that's going to take a while and yeah,
- 23:28Speaker 4: and they get down there and they're done within like
- 23:30Speaker 4: five minutes.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, super efficient. Yeah. And then they can't change back.
- 23:36Speaker 2: They thought they'd be able to change right back. They
- 23:38Speaker 2: can't change right back. And no, and no one looks
- 23:41Speaker 2: more pissed about it than Spock.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Yeah, he showed a wide variety of emotions. Yeah yeah, anger, embarrassment,
- 23:52Speaker 3: pissed off, is.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yah, so I have I have to say that is
- 23:59Speaker 2: it just Bush plays Chapel Jeess. Bush is smoking hot
- 24:05Speaker 2: no matter what she's playing. Yeah, she is. This this
- 24:10Speaker 2: is my new thing. You know. We've seen her as
- 24:13Speaker 2: a human smoking hot, We've seen her as a vulcan
- 24:16Speaker 2: smoking hot. H Next season, I want to see her
- 24:18Speaker 2: as a Klingon. I want to see her as an Andorian.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Tell right, you name it, you name it. I want
- 24:25Speaker 2: to see if it if it holds true? Right.
- 24:29Speaker 4: But yeah, we did not get a release date for
- 24:34Speaker 4: when season three is coming out.
- 24:35Speaker 1: We just know at some point next year.
- 24:37Speaker 3: But yeah, and speaking gonna be a banner year for
- 24:41Speaker 3: Star Trek next year.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Yeah, it sounds like it. There's gonna be a lot
- 24:44Speaker 4: going on. Other thing we got is we got a
- 24:49Speaker 4: trailer for season five of Lower.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Decks that looks good.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks fun.
- 24:55Speaker 4: We also got the big announcement of when it's gonna
- 24:58Speaker 4: be released. So yeah, first episodes air October twenty fourth
- 25:04Speaker 4: of this year.
- 25:06Speaker 2: So there we go, which seems like a long time,
- 25:09Speaker 2: but it really isn't.
- 25:10Speaker 1: It really really is not.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we're at the end of July.
- 25:13Speaker 4: Yeah, so yeah, Lower Decks will be ending this year.
- 25:18Speaker 4: And yeah, Scott, you said you enjoyed the trailer.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I did. I like the you know, the spatial
- 25:26Speaker 3: rift thing, and I liked the alternate curritos. I think
- 25:31Speaker 3: that's going to be interesting. Yeah, I introduced to they
- 25:34Speaker 3: introduced Captain Becky Freeman.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Becky Freeman, yep.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so and yeah that looks that looks fun. That
- 25:44Speaker 3: looks like a lot of fun. See, they can pull
- 25:46Speaker 3: things off. That is easier to you know, that it's
- 25:50Speaker 3: an easier pill to swallow for lower decks to pull
- 25:53Speaker 3: some things off than Strange New Worlds. I think I'm
- 25:57Speaker 3: hoping the strange New World's thing. I hope they're not
- 26:01Speaker 3: like jumping the shark with what they're doing with the
- 26:04Speaker 3: falcon thing.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Right right, Yeah, all hund the Durreor sisters were fire
- 26:11Speaker 4: with the boom window idea one.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so that was cool.
- 26:21Speaker 4: We did also get a little like a two minute
- 26:24Speaker 4: video of the cast of Star Trek Starfleet Academy being
- 26:32Speaker 4: welcomed into the franchise, being told that they have been
- 26:35Speaker 4: cast in the show. That was kind of neat to
- 26:38Speaker 4: see all these kids getting all excited and you know,
- 26:41Speaker 4: so I'm.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Happy for them. Hopefully it's a good show.
- 26:46Speaker 4: We also did get announcements of some new cast members
- 26:50Speaker 4: for the show as well. Did you guys see this
- 26:53Speaker 4: We It was officially announced till He will be back
- 26:57Speaker 4: for sure. What a surprise she's to be on the show. Also,
- 27:02Speaker 4: tig Nataro, Yes, odin for the cat Dadmiral And the
- 27:11Speaker 4: big surprise to me, Robert Priccardo.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Will be Robert Piccardo.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, so the em H is back. Baby.
- 27:21Speaker 3: I wonder if she's going to play the mh sure.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't know for sure.
- 27:26Speaker 4: It's it's that he's the em H. But Robert Riccardo
- 27:28Speaker 4: will be there. I just imagine because it's a hologram.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So you could say that, you know, mhmm.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 4: But how do you feel about tig Nataro being a
- 27:42Speaker 4: regular now on the show.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Oh, I love take Nakaro. I hope she's in every episode.
- 27:50Speaker 3: She's you know, she was great on Discovery. We didn't
- 27:55Speaker 3: get nearly enough of her. Yeah, I think her her dry,
- 28:00Speaker 3: I kind of sense of humor, and yeah, I think
- 28:03Speaker 3: that that's that's gonna fit well.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so too.
- 28:08Speaker 3: And I'm excited that Tilly's coming back. I'm a fan
- 28:11Speaker 3: of hers, so yeah, it's gonna be good stuff. I
- 28:14Speaker 3: think the dynamic between uh Jet, Reno and Tilly and
- 28:20Speaker 3: I think that's gonna be That's gonna be good.
- 28:23Speaker 2: A waiting game is asking where does the Academy show
- 28:26Speaker 2: fit in the timeline again? And the answer is it
- 28:28Speaker 2: fits right where nobody wants it right. It is a
- 28:32Speaker 2: continuation of Discovery.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's basically Discovery.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yes, it's a sequel.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Well that sounds gross when you say it like that.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean half the cast is from Discovery.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I would have I would have preferred the twenty
- 28:49Speaker 2: fifth century. But I've imagine thousand times.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Everyone from Discovery will at least pop up for a
- 28:56Speaker 4: guest star at some point.
- 28:58Speaker 2: They have probably already already already filmed cameos yep, just
- 29:02Speaker 2: are in the can waiting to be edited.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yep.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Probably.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I want to see I want to see Dan's reaction
- 29:08Speaker 3: when Michael Burnham shows up.
- 29:11Speaker 2: God do I have to do? I have to watch
- 29:14Speaker 2: the show.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And you need to fill your reaction when
- 29:18Speaker 3: we find out if there's an episode where Michael Burnham
- 29:20Speaker 3: shows up, you have to fill your reaction.
- 29:22Speaker 4: I want, I.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Want reading books and book what's that I want?
- 29:27Speaker 1: Reading books with book booker go yeah, books and books, yeah,
- 29:32Speaker 1: book the books.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Oh.
- 29:36Speaker 4: We also got a trailer for Section thirty one. It
- 29:41Speaker 4: was more of a teaser trailer. We really don't know
- 29:43Speaker 4: much about the story.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Apparently Chris Chris Pine was not involved. No, because they
- 29:48Speaker 2: are blowing they're blowing up.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Yeah, this was the only one I wasn't all that
- 29:57Speaker 3: excited for.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, me neither.
- 30:01Speaker 4: I think if it was just generic action film, sure
- 30:05Speaker 4: looks looks fine. But because it's Star Trek and it's
- 30:09Speaker 4: Section thirty one, and you know, Section thirty one is
- 30:11Speaker 4: supposed to be.
- 30:11Speaker 1: The spy thing, it didn't quite feel it for me.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:16Speaker 4: You know, if they were doing like COVID espionage, like
- 30:20Speaker 4: you know, some Mission Impossible type stuff would be kind
- 30:24Speaker 4: of neat, And I think, yeah, well.
- 30:28Speaker 2: That and it's like, you know the phrase you got
- 30:33Speaker 2: to strike while the iron's hot. Yeah, yeah, this thing
- 30:36Speaker 2: cooled down like five years ago.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Yeah exactly.
- 30:40Speaker 2: What we what are we doing? She went back to
- 30:42Speaker 2: her time five years ago.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yep.
- 30:47Speaker 1: It was just it was something.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Yeah right, yeah, let's see awaiting game says Section thirty one.
- 30:57Speaker 4: The organization certaintly denied the existence of allows them to
- 31:00Speaker 4: operate in the shadows now with their own ships and
- 31:02Speaker 4: unique badges, right right, I mean that's kind of like
- 31:06Speaker 4: Shield and Marvel, right.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I was just thinking of that too. Yeah, Like in
- 31:11Speaker 3: one of the first episodes of Agents of Shield, they're like,
- 31:13Speaker 3: why do we have our emblem of our super secret
- 31:16Speaker 3: organization on the side of our cars?
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I still didn't see Ashteiler. Oh he'll pop up.
- 31:25Speaker 4: That'll be the big reveal he shows up.
- 31:29Speaker 1: For the fan.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Can't wait for Michael Burnham's cameo on that too. Oh yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 4: And then the last big announcement that came out of
- 31:41Speaker 4: San Diego Comic Con for Structure related this is kind
- 31:45Speaker 4: of interesting. So you know what they told us that
- 31:47Speaker 4: we couldn't get legacy because you know, hey, we're only
- 31:50Speaker 4: gonna do strange new worlds. And then it's announced that
- 31:54Speaker 4: Tawny Newsome and filmmaker Justin Simeon will be doing a
- 32:00Speaker 4: new Star Trek series. It's gonna be a comedic series.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:08Speaker 3: I thought Tony Newsom was already gonna be working on Academy.
- 32:12Speaker 4: She is, she is, but she's also now co creating
- 32:17Speaker 4: this new series. We do have the premise of the series.
- 32:21Speaker 4: It is, let's see what is it?
- 32:24Speaker 1: Live action comedy series.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Federation outsiders serving at a gleaming resort planet find out
- 32:30Speaker 4: their day to day exploits are being broadcast to the
- 32:33Speaker 4: entire quadrant.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Wait a minute, So they're doing like the show well,
- 32:41Speaker 3: or the Office and like from the planet Risa or
- 32:48Speaker 3: yeah Truman show from Risa.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Oftentimes when they announced the premise of a show, it's
- 32:56Speaker 4: the first arc, right, the first story arc, and then
- 32:59Speaker 4: the premise builds from that. But yeah, the Office in space,
- 33:05Speaker 4: I imagine what said a wolf in Yeah, yeah, office space?
- 33:12Speaker 3: If you will off space?
- 33:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, dear Lord tales from Risea.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 4: So, as you can see, people are excited. I think
- 33:24Speaker 4: people like Tawny, we're just hoping it's good. But you know,
- 33:33Speaker 4: I guess I'll watch it.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I watch more.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Think I think the i'll watch it attitude is part
- 33:47Speaker 2: of the problem. You're right, if you keep consuming the garbage,
- 33:53Speaker 2: it will create creating garbage for consumption.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Right. So, well, it also seems like they keep making
- 34:01Speaker 3: Star Trek adjacent when we want Star Trek.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean sometimes sometimes they hit it out of
- 34:08Speaker 2: the park. Lower Decks.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Really.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I remember when they first announced Lower Decks It's like,
- 34:14Speaker 2: what is this crap?
- 34:16Speaker 3: Right?
- 34:16Speaker 2: And I've really enjoyed it. Yeah, I think if I
- 34:24Speaker 2: think the fact that it's animation allows me to enjoy
- 34:30Speaker 2: it takes me out of it a little bit. If
- 34:32Speaker 2: Lower Decks was instead a sitcom with a laugh track,
- 34:40Speaker 2: I don't think I would same jokes, same storyline, same scripts.
- 34:44Speaker 2: But it was live action, I don't think i'd enjoy
- 34:48Speaker 2: it the way I have.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Yeah, we have a new new viewer, yip o co
- 34:54Speaker 4: who says, uh, you know, opportunity for more Fringy.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Probably. I mean it's a resort planet, right, so like
- 35:02Speaker 4: it's anyone you want.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Yep, we love ourselves in Fringy.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Yeah, we're getting a new show based on the twenty
- 35:12Speaker 4: fourth century.
- 35:12Speaker 1: We don't know.
- 35:14Speaker 4: We just know the premise of the show. We don't
- 35:15Speaker 4: know where in the timeline this is.
- 35:17Speaker 2: So you think it's it's the Office, but I think
- 35:20Speaker 2: it's actually love Boat. Oh you have you have the
- 35:27Speaker 2: people that work at the vacation destination. Yeah, different people
- 35:32Speaker 2: show up each week. Oh boy, you know this week?
- 35:39Speaker 2: This week the Rikers are on vacation, so you know
- 35:43Speaker 2: they're in that episode, and they could like have a
- 35:47Speaker 2: thing where you know, at the end of the episode,
- 35:50Speaker 2: you know, the Rikers are getting on the shuttle. The
- 35:52Speaker 2: Rikers are getting on the shuttle to leave, right, and
- 35:55Speaker 2: the shuttle lands. The shuttle lands, and it's you know,
- 35:59Speaker 2: it's Tom and Alana getting off the shuttle and the
- 36:01Speaker 2: Rikers are getting on the showw you actually see them passing.
- 36:04Speaker 2: You see them passing each other.
- 36:06Speaker 3: So you know, next week, Oh, it's right, it could
- 36:10Speaker 3: be a thing that could be fun. Yeah, there's there's
- 36:13Speaker 3: a lot of opportunity for cameos.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Awaiting again, says I wouldn't mind love boat in space.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Okay, that'd be great.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Yeah, the Riker's on vacation. I'm dying.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Yeah, like thinking of all the couples that we know
- 36:29Speaker 3: are potential couples, you know, like uh, Basher and Dax
- 36:33Speaker 3: and yeah yeah, oh man.
- 36:37Speaker 4: If every season we get a new Dax, like dying,
- 36:41Speaker 4: keep killing her off. Yeah, like, who's the guest host
- 36:47Speaker 4: Dax this week?
- 36:48Speaker 3: You know, right o.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Poor Yeah, we'll see, well, we'll see what happens. But
- 36:59Speaker 4: it was a comedy show, so I don't know if
- 37:01Speaker 4: that's like a half hour or an hour long comedy.
- 37:06Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I would imagine half hour.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they can only as far as comedies go,
- 37:13Speaker 3: they there's really only two directions they can go. They
- 37:15Speaker 3: can go you know the three camera sound you know,
- 37:20Speaker 3: live studio audience laugh track kind of thing, or they
- 37:22Speaker 3: do it you know, documentary style like you know, Modern
- 37:27Speaker 3: Family or whatever.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Oh god, he well, what if it's the third rate
- 37:32Speaker 4: vacation planet, Like you're terrible kind of Bartley Rundown club men.
- 37:38Speaker 3: You know, it's not Riza.
- 37:41Speaker 4: It's like, yeah, yeah, that would be kind of funny.
- 37:45Speaker 4: It's your not very firm to your Disneyland.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Uh huh yeah, that could be.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Fun whether modification that's constantly breaking down.
- 37:58Speaker 1: God, oh are they going to bring those guys back?
- 38:01Speaker 1: There's like.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 38:10Speaker 4: People seem to like the new Dacks every week Kenny
- 38:14Speaker 4: Da So I know we killed another Kenny. Oh yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 4: that's it's Atlantic City and exactly.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Yeah, So okay, I guess there's potential.
- 38:30Speaker 4: The more we talk about it, like okay, all right,
- 38:33Speaker 4: And and Tawnie is pretty funny, so.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll watch it.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.
- 38:40Speaker 3: For now, Tawny, send me the screener.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Scott came full circle.
- 38:47Speaker 3: I watch it, Send me the screener.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Oh man, let's get more Barclay no Ah, miss Barking,
- 39:00Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, Berkley. Yeah, but that's all the announcements for
- 39:05Speaker 4: Star Trek. So yeah, we got lower decks right around
- 39:09Speaker 4: the corner basically.
- 39:11Speaker 1: So that's cool.
- 39:13Speaker 3: And uh yeah, can we can I touch on one thing?
- 39:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:17Speaker 3: The okay, all right, do we have any listener feedback? Yeah? Right,
- 39:25Speaker 3: go ahead to the let me touch the Vulcans, the
- 39:32Speaker 3: Vulcan episode in just one. Yeah, one, the Vulcan episode,
- 39:42Speaker 3: the whole We give you an injection. It's got a
- 39:47Speaker 3: DNA re sequencer in it, which makes your ears uh pointy,
- 39:52Speaker 3: but it also reshapes your eyebrows, and it sort of also,
- 39:57Speaker 3: within a span of five minutes, gives you the emotional
- 40:01Speaker 3: control that takes a Vulcan half a lifetime to learn.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Uh huh, yeah, it's the Vulcan super Soldier sermon.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I've always Yeah, I don't like the injections that
- 40:17Speaker 3: sort of make you look different, you know, give you
- 40:21Speaker 3: pointy ears, yeah, right away. I don't know to me,
- 40:26Speaker 3: that kind of seems a little cheap.
- 40:28Speaker 4: I mean, we're teaching kids that drugs are great, right
- 40:31Speaker 4: Captain America and Vulcan drugs.
- 40:33Speaker 3: So I hope they don't make it too cheesy.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it's literally a fan fiction move, Yeah.
- 40:41Speaker 3: It really is.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah for sure.
- 40:44Speaker 3: So all right, okay, that was my one touch.
- 40:49Speaker 1: There you go.
- 40:50Speaker 4: Well, let's get to listener feedback.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Then listener feedback.
- 41:00Speaker 4: All right, so we got Chasms on the line already
- 41:04Speaker 4: ready to go, so let me bring him in there he.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Is, ooh, hey, what's up?
- 41:10Speaker 3: How not much?
- 41:12Speaker 1: What do you think of all the announcements that came out?
- 41:14Speaker 5: Had that uh section thirty one? Show looks pretty god awful. Yeah.
- 41:23Speaker 5: If you didn't put Star Trek by it and just
- 41:26Speaker 5: watch that trailer, you'd be like what is this?
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 41:29Speaker 5: And then they put star Trek on it, and you're
- 41:31Speaker 5: like what is this?
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:38Speaker 5: I don't know because when you guys are discussing what
- 41:43Speaker 5: was it, Chris Pien saying too many exploitations, you know,
- 41:47Speaker 5: not enough heart, and then you see this trailer and
- 41:50Speaker 5: it's just all explosions, and it's like, Okay, what's the
- 41:56Speaker 5: story about. So it's like I don't want a good story.
- 42:01Speaker 5: I was wanting a more of a covert action tight
- 42:06Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like they're trying to like Star Trek
- 42:09Speaker 3: and or Yeah.
- 42:11Speaker 5: Well, it's like when you watch Sloan on a Deep
- 42:14Speaker 5: Face nine. He's very convert about it, you know, right,
- 42:18Speaker 5: he's great these black ops.
- 42:22Speaker 4: It says, I wouldn't even watch the Section thirty one
- 42:25Speaker 4: show if it wasn't Sturtrik related.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Actually, yeah, yeah, kind of the point.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't.
- 42:33Speaker 5: It was like they had a script for another movie,
- 42:35Speaker 5: took that script and slap Section thirty one on it.
- 42:39Speaker 1: That happens a lot.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and it almost looks like that, to be honest
- 42:43Speaker 5: with you.
- 42:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I bet it wouldn't take a lot of
- 42:47Speaker 3: script changing to make it a Star Wars film or
- 42:50Speaker 3: a series.
- 42:51Speaker 2: So do you remember the movie Cyborg? It was a
- 42:57Speaker 2: Jean Claude.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, that was the first one I ever seen him.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Man, that is a reworked script that was originally the
- 43:07Speaker 2: script for Masters of the Universe too.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Oh really really.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I did not know that Dolph Lundron's finest piece
- 43:18Speaker 3: of work.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, that was so rewatch it now because of
- 43:27Speaker 5: the Universe, or it's got Courtney Coxon and it's got
- 43:32Speaker 5: a H. Duncan mcmill in there. That's right, Robert Duncan McNeill.
- 43:36Speaker 5: So yeah, it's got to start the connection.
- 43:40Speaker 3: I don't know if I've ever actually seen Cyborg.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I don't think I ever have.
- 43:45Speaker 5: It's been five years since I was little.
- 43:49Speaker 2: You know, I haven't seen it.
- 43:53Speaker 4: There's there's one of those, like Universal Soldier is also
- 43:56Speaker 4: in conjunction with I think The Solo or some other
- 44:01Speaker 4: film like that.
- 44:03Speaker 1: M m yeah, I don't know.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 44:05Speaker 5: Well, that Soldier one, was it the one with Kurt
- 44:08Speaker 5: Russell back in the day. That's supposed to be a yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 5: part of the one with the Blade Runner, Okay, supposed
- 44:18Speaker 5: to be a kind of a sequel to Blade Runner.
- 44:20Speaker 5: Not really a sequel, but that's what he is. He's
- 44:23Speaker 5: one of those universe replicant, that's what he is. He's
- 44:29Speaker 5: like the whole model. They're trashing him, dumping on the
- 44:32Speaker 5: planet and then the new replicants are coming in.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Oh okay, oh okay.
- 44:38Speaker 4: We did miss one other announcement that the chat is
- 44:42Speaker 4: talking about. Apparently, Doctor Who in Star Trek will be
- 44:45Speaker 4: doing a crossover.
- 44:47Speaker 1: In mobile games. Mm hmmm. So for those of you
- 44:51Speaker 1: who play the mobile games, yeah.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Another one too. What was it?
- 44:58Speaker 5: Star Trek Fleet Command. Oh yeah, they're crossing over with
- 45:02Speaker 5: Galaxy Quest this week.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah that's right, that's right.
- 45:06Speaker 5: So I play that, so spend a ton of money.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I think I downloaded and never opened the app.
- 45:12Speaker 5: Yeah, well see I did that the first month, and
- 45:15Speaker 5: then I opened it again, and then I got hooked
- 45:18Speaker 5: on it, and then I I had a listener later,
- 45:23Speaker 5: So yeah, I probably more merch if I didn't play
- 45:27Speaker 5: that stupid game.
- 45:28Speaker 1: So there we go here, I am. Oh, thanks for coming.
- 45:36Speaker 2: What's up, mama bear?
- 45:37Speaker 3: That's right, there's another crossover to that. A listener emailed
- 45:44Speaker 3: me about a world of worships. It was apparently bringing
- 45:49Speaker 3: in Star Trek ships and Enterprise on there.
- 45:53Speaker 4: I mean, they're kind of overpowered to compare to other ships,
- 45:56Speaker 4: aren't they.
- 45:56Speaker 5: Well it's fistic are they romula looking aircraft carrier? And
- 46:02Speaker 5: there's the Enterprise that's like aircraft carrier?
- 46:05Speaker 1: Oh okay that kind of ships.
- 46:06Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, but they're still on water, which does make sense,
- 46:11Speaker 5: I guess.
- 46:11Speaker 2: So we know bird Bird's a bank and float, so right, right.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Hey, the Enterprise can go underwater. Guys about that?
- 46:23Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, that's right.
- 46:24Speaker 5: We saw it was underwater.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Yeah, but the salt water plays havoc on some of
- 46:28Speaker 3: their systems. Yeah, Scotty wasn't happy about that.
- 46:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm sure he'd be pissed about that.
- 46:36Speaker 2: We have wonderful boot bootyful handsome faces. Okay, thanks, yeah,
- 46:45Speaker 2: thank you.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Right, that's right. I don't know what.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Yeah, take the compliment.
- 46:59Speaker 5: Anybody get the dead Pool Wolverine popcorn bucket?
- 47:02Speaker 1: No I did?
- 47:04Speaker 3: I did?
- 47:05Speaker 1: You got the metal one? Yeah?
- 47:06Speaker 3: The Metal one?
- 47:08Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 47:08Speaker 3: Man, yeah, I didn't get the Yeah, I didn't get
- 47:10Speaker 3: the logan.
- 47:11Speaker 5: You didn't get the functional version?
- 47:18Speaker 3: Yeah, So what you guys?
- 47:20Speaker 2: What did you guys think of that movie?
- 47:22Speaker 1: That Deadpool?
- 47:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 47:24Speaker 4: Okay, that was definitely there might be spoilers, so you know,
- 47:30Speaker 4: spoil alert for Deadpool and Wolverine.
- 47:33Speaker 1: I liked it. I thought it was a lot of fun.
- 47:38Speaker 3: I was blown away by some of the cameos.
- 47:41Speaker 5: Yeah, oh my god, there's one cameo in there that
- 47:44Speaker 5: just had me rolling.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I was. I was a little confused by some of them. Well, so,
- 47:53Speaker 2: all right, so he goes to see Happy Hogan, right, right,
- 47:58Speaker 2: which what where is that taking place? What reality is
- 48:02Speaker 2: that taking place? Is that taking place in the MCU?
- 48:06Speaker 2: Is that?
- 48:07Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 48:08Speaker 2: Okay, so how did how did he get from the
- 48:11Speaker 2: Fox timeline to the mc U timeline?
- 48:17Speaker 4: I thought he had the little risk thing on that
- 48:20Speaker 4: he did at the end of Deadpool.
- 48:22Speaker 5: Two where you went through time.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was going through time, not timelines that
- 48:27Speaker 2: was sending him. Yeah, I was sending him forward and.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Backwards through his own I think it's it's one of
- 48:34Speaker 4: these hand Yeah, you.
- 48:37Speaker 5: Just don't you don't think about it. It's just stupid.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Well because then also, you know, Wolverine's talking about the
- 48:43Speaker 2: Avengers as if he's aware of who they are and
- 48:46Speaker 2: what they're about. There was a lot of like hand wavy.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Yeah, this movie that was about bringing those two worlds together,
- 48:56Speaker 3: or at least saying that they're together.
- 48:58Speaker 5: And plus he's in a different universe that Wolverine because
- 49:01Speaker 5: his his X Man died.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, and.
- 49:07Speaker 5: I was hoping he would have been the Wolverine that
- 49:10Speaker 5: killed all the X Men.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 49:12Speaker 5: That would have been interesting because I thought they were
- 49:14Speaker 5: gonna go with the actual Logan ro oute where Mysterio
- 49:18Speaker 5: messes with Wolverine's brain and he thinks the Mannard's getting
- 49:23Speaker 5: raided and he kills everything and he wakes up and
- 49:26Speaker 5: he just killed all the X Men.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I do.
- 49:30Speaker 4: I saw a review where they talked about how this movie, Yeah,
- 49:34Speaker 4: it's great. The first time you watch it, you absolutely
- 49:35Speaker 4: love it. But the more you watch it, the more
- 49:37Speaker 4: questions you have, the more it kind of falls apart. Yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 4: and they think that that's what's gonna happen to it,
- 49:42Speaker 4: kind of like with Spider Man No Way Home, like
- 49:45Speaker 4: same thing. It does start falling apart the more you
- 49:49Speaker 4: think about it. Yeah, I agree with that. I started
- 49:53Speaker 4: thinking about things. Oh there he goes just like Dan
- 49:56Speaker 4: set up, it falls apart.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Man, that's weird. Yeah, that's becoming a thing.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Damage report right chest shot. Yeah, yeah, is gonna love that.
- 50:13Speaker 5: Yeah, he's like Hugh Jackman, been working out, you know
- 50:17Speaker 5: that's right, that's right right there.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Yeah, welcome to the gun show everyone.
- 50:22Speaker 1: There you go.
- 50:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Deadpool and Wolverine. I I saw I saw an
- 50:32Speaker 3: interview with I think it was Ryan Reynolds where they said, yeah,
- 50:35Speaker 3: you can make this movie, just you can't do any
- 50:37Speaker 3: references to references to Logan so don't mention anything from
- 50:42Speaker 3: Logan and then the first scene.
- 50:51Speaker 4: So they're on the big marketing tour, right, so they
- 50:54Speaker 4: did Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds did the light detector
- 50:57Speaker 4: test that forget who does that? And so they asked
- 51:00Speaker 4: him like, hey, that Deadpool footage that leaked a few
- 51:03Speaker 4: years back, do you have any part of that?
- 51:06Speaker 1: And just go white? And he's just like pass.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Ye, yeah, but he did admit that he may have
- 51:19Speaker 4: had a part to play in that of course.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 5: If you watched Deadpool two and then you watch this one,
- 51:26Speaker 5: this one was excellent. So yeah, compared to that, yeah,
- 51:30Speaker 5: this one was it was just stupid. I was like,
- 51:33Speaker 5: I didn't go in there thinking this is going to
- 51:35Speaker 5: be a serious Marvel movie whatsoever, right because you read
- 51:39Speaker 5: dead whole comics there they go off the rails most
- 51:43Speaker 5: of the time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, And.
- 51:47Speaker 2: I did kind of expect this to fold him into
- 51:49Speaker 2: the mc U and that's not what happened.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Yeah, No, there's that.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. Yeah.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Well when he's the car sales any staples that hair
- 52:01Speaker 5: piece on his head, that was great.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you got the Xbox controller? Yeah yeah, have you
- 52:10Speaker 1: guys seen this thing?
- 52:11Speaker 5: Oh, did you buy it. No, yes, it looks I
- 52:15Speaker 5: don't know how you can hold it. Does it hurt
- 52:17Speaker 5: your hands with the ass right there? Yeah, I don't
- 52:21Speaker 5: it seems like it wouldn't.
- 52:23Speaker 3: You know?
- 52:23Speaker 5: You have to like the controller. There's like they put
- 52:26Speaker 5: a butt on the controller, deadpoles butts on the back
- 52:29Speaker 5: of it.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Cool.
- 52:31Speaker 5: When you're gripping it, you're gripping Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Yeah, well I think you have to have your middle finger,
- 52:43Speaker 2: which is you know, the longest right gripped.
- 52:47Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, oh yeah, we're not making this up. This
- 52:52Speaker 5: is a real controller.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was a joke at first, but yeah,
- 52:57Speaker 4: you can buy them.
- 52:58Speaker 5: But you see, like, how would you grip that? Like
- 53:01Speaker 5: I play Xbox so.
- 53:05Speaker 3: With both hands?
- 53:07Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but okay.
- 53:11Speaker 1: I don't have I don't worry.
- 53:15Speaker 3: I'll keep bucket.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Yeah that's right. You do have the dune bucket, don't you.
- 53:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll keep my dune bucket.
- 53:23Speaker 3: He's going to store his controllers in it.
- 53:25Speaker 5: Yeah, my wife made it a clean ex bucket.
- 53:29Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 53:32Speaker 4: I cannot lie.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Better than the alternative. What would be the alternative? I
- 53:39Speaker 1: don't want to know, you know, I don't want to know.
- 53:44Speaker 5: So yeah, pretty the joy stick. So what do you.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Think about Junior coming back?
- 53:51Speaker 4: Is Doctor Doube?
- 53:53Speaker 5: I saw there's a you know, somebody mentioned this. I
- 53:55Speaker 5: was listening to John Camp the other day. Oh yeah,
- 54:00Speaker 5: he was talking that he could be Doctor dam before
- 54:06Speaker 5: Comic Con because he was talking about this comic.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the rumor for a while, and I.
- 54:10Speaker 5: Was like, man, that sounds so ridiculous, because really, you
- 54:14Speaker 5: want the actual Doctor Doom, you don't want some variant
- 54:17Speaker 5: or different person.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:20Speaker 5: You know, the real Marvel fans they want Tony back, right,
- 54:24Speaker 5: they want Captain back, because it's kind of like last
- 54:29Speaker 5: night you saw everybody seeing Wolverine, they're seeing Deadpool. They
- 54:33Speaker 5: kind of want the old school Marble back. They want
- 54:34Speaker 5: the they want the eighteen back and Marvel. They don't
- 54:39Speaker 5: want a movie starring Robin, you know, Batman or Robin. Hey,
- 54:43Speaker 5: let's have a Robin movie and watch that. And Robin's kind.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Of well, that's sort of the price you pay when
- 54:50Speaker 3: you make an Avengers Infinity War endgame. You know, they
- 54:56Speaker 3: cashed out big on that.
- 54:57Speaker 5: That was a deal, but they didn't have a good
- 55:01Speaker 5: plan for Phase four.
- 55:03Speaker 1: And then they're well, the big plan was profit right, Well, they.
- 55:09Speaker 5: Saw that profit and then that prophet went could put Yeah,
- 55:15Speaker 5: because you put you know, you just added different characters.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Nobody cared about the Turtles. Nobody talks about the Doctor
- 55:21Speaker 5: Strange movie.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 55:23Speaker 5: You know, nobody even talks about thor Love and Thunder.
- 55:27Speaker 3: It was a good movie. I thought it was a
- 55:29Speaker 3: good movie.
- 55:31Speaker 5: I liked it. It was to joke.
- 55:35Speaker 3: That was I didn't care for Multiverse of Madness, but yeah.
- 55:39Speaker 5: No, Multiverse it lost me.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I disliked Multiverse of Madness so much
- 55:46Speaker 2: because I enjoyed One Division so much. Yeah, and it
- 55:52Speaker 2: took a big giant dump on One Division.
- 55:54Speaker 5: Yes did, because she like killed everybody. Yeah, and she
- 55:59Speaker 5: was super overpowered in that movie when she met up
- 56:03Speaker 5: with the other Avengers in that other world and killed
- 56:07Speaker 5: Reid Richards and Captain Marvel and all them like so easily.
- 56:12Speaker 2: You know. You know, it's funny. I think back to
- 56:15Speaker 2: when WandaVision was was airing. Yeah, and aside from the
- 56:21Speaker 2: first two episodes, because everybody watched the first two episodes
- 56:23Speaker 2: and they're like, what the hell am I watching? But
- 56:26Speaker 2: once once it picked up, I remember thinking, if this
- 56:33Speaker 2: is what Marvel TV shows are going to be like,
- 56:35Speaker 2: this is gonna be awesome, and it's been down.
- 56:41Speaker 5: And the Falcon in the Winter Soldier came out and
- 56:44Speaker 5: you're like, what is this?
- 56:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that actually wasn't bad. I didn't mind Falcon in
- 56:50Speaker 2: the Winter Soldier.
- 56:51Speaker 3: It was okay.
- 56:54Speaker 2: She Hulk was pretty disappointing. I know I'm gonna get
- 56:59Speaker 2: some hate for this. But I never finished Moon Night.
- 57:02Speaker 5: Oh I don't know.
- 57:03Speaker 3: I didn't either.
- 57:04Speaker 2: I didn't either.
- 57:05Speaker 3: I watched the first two episodes.
- 57:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it didn't grab me.
- 57:08Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I tried watching that.
- 57:11Speaker 1: And did you guys watch The World by Night? No?
- 57:13Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Special.
- 57:15Speaker 2: I watched it because it was a thing that I
- 57:18Speaker 2: thought I should watch, but I wasn't. I wasn't excited
- 57:21Speaker 2: about it or anything.
- 57:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't know much about the character, but I
- 57:26Speaker 4: thought that was okay.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you watched it because you thought it was a
- 57:30Speaker 3: thing you should watch. That was something I was thinking
- 57:33Speaker 3: about when I was watching Deadpool. Thank god. I watched Loki.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 57:39Speaker 5: If you go see my wife, she's never seen Loki
- 57:42Speaker 5: or any of that, so, but she got the movie.
- 57:46Speaker 5: It makes it made sense to her. You know, she's
- 57:49Speaker 5: just normy, she doesn't care, and she thought it was funny.
- 57:53Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know, but the TVA aspects of it, you.
- 57:57Speaker 5: Know, I think it just made sense to her.
- 58:01Speaker 4: There was a lot of exposition in Deadpool Wolverine because.
- 58:04Speaker 5: They they needed it at the beginning. And ye, because
- 58:11Speaker 5: those fight scenes are pretty darn gruesome. Yeah, that's the
- 58:16Speaker 5: first time you ever get to see Wolverine use those clause.
- 58:18Speaker 5: And then when Deadpool's using the clause and doesn't know
- 58:21Speaker 5: what the hell he's doing.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Yeah, right, Yeah, so the last the last scene when
- 58:29Speaker 2: Wolverine is like hanging out at Deadpool's apartment, Yeah, and
- 58:33Speaker 2: he's and he's three feet away from Colossus and they
- 58:37Speaker 2: just don't acknowledge it at all. That from from Colossus's
- 58:42Speaker 2: point of view, Hey there's my friend who's who died
- 58:46Speaker 2: from the dead a few years ago. From from Wolverine's
- 58:50Speaker 2: point of view, Hey there's my friend who I let
- 58:52Speaker 2: die all those years ago, And instead they're just like
- 58:56Speaker 2: bottoms up.
- 58:58Speaker 3: And somehow he now has Arussian accent.
- 59:02Speaker 5: Yeah classes maybe that's not his classus so true, But
- 59:09Speaker 5: you did see X whatever her name is, you know,
- 59:11Speaker 5: she she was there too, hanging out Now Channing Tatum play.
- 59:18Speaker 3: I mean that that was funny.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just awful. It was so awful because yes,
- 59:31Speaker 2: but because of of what was going on there. It
- 59:34Speaker 2: was great. It was awful. It was so bad.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Hey, real quick to bring it back.
- 59:43Speaker 4: The trek Trek corr is reporting that Roberricardo is going
- 59:47Speaker 4: to be playing the Doctor.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Yes, are going to him, I wonder, or or he
- 59:53Speaker 2: aged up and they'll just say that, Yeah, I'll just
- 59:56Speaker 2: say he wrote an algorithm to Yeah, they're they're gonn
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: to do a.
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: Cute thing the Doctor anymore.
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, he's Yeah, he's aged out of that
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: that character in the timeline. But you know, I'll accept uh.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: You know, they had to do the same thing with
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: John Delancey, right, you know, and I can't accept that.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: All right, So here's the question. Is he a hologram
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: or or does he have a synthetic body?
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they can do that.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: Hm hmm.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: That he's aged throughout the years because it's a thousand
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: years in the future, damn near.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: That's a good question.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe that'd.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: Be an easy way to say he's old is because
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: they found him.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I have an idea. I have an idea.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: This is not our EMH. This is the copy of
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: the MH that got stuck on that planet that was
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: living in the museum.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yep, because at the end of that episode
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: he the.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: End of the episode, he grabs a shuttle and he's like,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna go find my people.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: Yeah, or he gets up in the middle of the
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: season and he's pissed it's taking so long.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: Or he's one of those that's just mining on the
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: planet for you.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's just oh yeah, I wonder if we're gonna
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: get any resolution to those stories.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Probably not.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: That's just so angry.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: But it's the evil Emah from the Equinox.
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: He's slave labor. Yeah, build everything.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: They captured him pretty solidly. And Prodigy not finished Prodigy.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: But yeah, I'll watch those two episodes that you said
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: to review and yeah, pretty much it it's it's fine.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: I'm happy people like it. It's stuff for me.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean lower decks and strange new worlds. I'm
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: excited for. Yeah, section thirty one.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: If he I'll watch you know, it's a TV movie,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: it'll be a TV movie.
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: I'll watch it.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: You basically said Dan, and you basically said it's okay,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: it'll be over quick. Yes, yeah, put a stick in
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: your mouth.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. We'll just get through this. We'll
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: have therapy on the show later. Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: Yeah, hopefully there's two times speed. You can watch it
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: three if it gets bad, right, and can speed watch it?
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: And oh god, we're gonna get through this together, guys. Right.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Yeah, looks like a rejected script for one of those
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Triple X films. Well, the thing is, yeah, these.
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: They got good actors for the Starfleet Academy because they
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: added Paul Giomoni.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: And yeah, that's true. Yeah, and like.
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: You got to Oscar people. Yeah, but then you add
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: you know this, yeah, Discovery people, and you realize what
- 1:03:20Speaker 5: the timeline is, and you know, I have the same
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: feeling that Dan did earlier, where it's just like, why,
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: it's like this, this is not the time period we
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: really want, uh, Starfleet Academy. Yeah, we want to see
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: maybe like the starts of Starfleet Academy, maybe like the
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: beginnings or like yeah, twenty fifth century. I I want
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: to see Paul Giamani be boothby and be like screaming
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: at trees and saying, get off from my lawn.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: You know, you know, the so booth is booth be
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: a hologram?
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: It seems like, there you go, my favorite Martians should
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: be on there pleasemergency. Yeah yeah, and just screaming at people.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Got the lot.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: I could use one of those holograms around here.
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: Yeah, be great.
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: All right, Well I think that pretty much is starting
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: to wrap things up.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: So, yeah, are you guys excited for Falcon in the
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: Winter Soldier or not Falcon the Winter Soldier but.

- 1:04:43Speaker 3: I'll watch it in the theater.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I'll watch it. Yeah. February got through
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: like five They've got through like five sent reshoots.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: So yeah, well, no, it's usually not a good time.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: It's a horrible time to release the blockbuster.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Not anymore, I mean it is.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: It's usually the dumby ground. August is the dumb it
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: used to be.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter anymore.
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: I think Joker came out around that time and made
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: a ton of money, just like yeah, yeah, it really
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: doesn't matter at this point anymore.
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: Well, they kind of cheated with Joker because you know,
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: like wide release was in January, right, but they released
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: it really in December, so I could get on the
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: Oscar right, Oscar.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: That because I got a screener for it.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: Don't let your kid watch it.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: That's not a good film. No teaser for the second one.
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, it looks. Do you think it's all in
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: his head?
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Probably?
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: Probably this whole thing.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: I think it's all in her head.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: There is a rumor that we're gonna see Jonathan Crane
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: Scarecrow as one of the psychiatrists.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Out really that could be kind of cool.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, all right, so I'm excited.
