- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:05When we talk about Jeffrey Epstein's first alleged attempt at
- 0:09suicide while he was in a cell with Nicholas Tartaglioni,
- 0:12there are a lot of questions that still have not
- 0:16been answered, and one of them that I have always
- 0:18asked is how is it that the Department of Justice,
- 0:21the Bureau of Prisons can clear Nicholas Tartaglioni of any
- 0:26wrongdoing when the video doesn't even exist of what happened
- 0:30in that cell, especially considering we know what Epstein said
- 0:34had happened. Epstein, for a quick review, said that he
- 0:38was assaulted by Nicholas Tartaglioni. That's what he told his lawyers.
- 0:44But we get the narrative that he attempted to kill himself,
- 0:47and Nicholas Tartaglioni, acting in his role as batman, the
- 0:51caped crusader, I guess, flew in to save the day
- 0:54and helped Epstein. But if we are looking at it
- 0:58with a clear head, if that's the case, and Tartaglioni
- 1:02was interested in helping Epstein not hurt himself, why would
- 1:06he let Epstein get to the point of even having
- 1:09any sort of device or contraption wrapped around his neck.
- 1:14Wouldn't logic dictate that if he wanted Epstein not to
- 1:17hurt himself, he wouldn't let him do that in the
- 1:19first place. Considering how big he is, considering how strong
- 1:22he is, he could stop Epstein in a moment's notice.
- 1:26But he waits for Epstein to begin to hang himself
- 1:29and then steps in as this superhero, and all of
- 1:32the video just happens to disappear. I'm sorry, but I
- 1:37have a hard time believing that. Folks. Now, if other
- 1:40people out there believe it, Hey, I'm not saying you're wrong,
- 1:43I'm just saying personally, I have a very very hard
- 1:46time believing that. So today, once again hopping in that
- 1:50time machine, and we're gonna spin back to twenty nineteen
- 1:53August sixteenth. Today we have an article by NBC News
- 1:59author Rich Shapiro Jonathan dentst headline Jeffrey Epstein's former cellmate
- 2:05cleared of wrongdoing an incident that preceded his death. The
- 2:09disclosure deepens the mystery over why Epstein was removed from
- 2:13Suicide Watch in the days before he apparently took his
- 2:16own life. Jeffrey Epstein's former cellmate was cleared of any
- 2:21wrongdoing in the incident that left Epstein's semi unconscious in
- 2:24his cell three weeks before his death. According to the
- 2:27cellmate's lawyer and the source familiar with the matter, Boy,
- 2:31that's nice. Hell of a job by the Department of Corrections. Huh,
- 2:35hell of a job by them to clear a guy
- 2:37that shouldn't have been in the cell with him in
- 2:38the first place, without any evidence to do so. Just
- 2:41going on his word, I guess the disclosure amounts to
- 2:45the strongest indication to date that Epstein tried to take
- 2:48his own life on July twenty third, and deepens the
- 2:51mystery over why he was removed from suicide Watch in
- 2:54the days before his death, unless, of course, Tartaglioni was
- 2:58sent in there to send him a message now again speculation,
- 3:02But was Tartaglioni sent in there to tell Epstein, Look, bro,
- 3:05we can get to you. Either you're gonna kill yourself
- 3:08or we're gonna kill you now again. Look. I don't
- 3:11know if that's what went down, but is that so
- 3:14far out of the realm of possibility considering everything we
- 3:17know here, Tartaglioni should have never been in that cell.
- 3:21This is a four time loser for homicide, a man
- 3:24who was caught with contraband in his cell previously to
- 3:27this happening, and then he gets moved to be with
- 3:29the highest profile inmate in the whole lock up. Yeah,
- 3:33we're gonna need some explanations, folks. Epstein, the disgraced financier
- 3:40at Pedophile who was facing federal sex trafficking charges, was
- 3:43placed under suicide watch after he was found in a
- 3:46fetal position with marks around his neck inside the cell
- 3:49he was sharing with Nicholas Tartaglioni, a former upstate New
- 3:53York police officer facing quadruple murder charges. Oh so Westchester
- 3:57County is upstate. Now Westchester County is Yonkers and Irvington
- 4:02and not really upstate. I guess for me, upstate would
- 4:05be more like Clifton Park, or you know, aubeny or something.
- 4:10The incident at Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center was being investigated
- 4:15as a possible suicide, attempt, assault, or ruse by Epstein
- 4:19to get himself transferred to a different facility after he
- 4:22was denied bail on the sex trafficking charges. Officials said
- 4:26at the time. So look, dude, I don't believe any
- 4:30of that. Okay, I think that Tartaglioni assault at Epstein.
- 4:35That's what I believe. And unless they can show me
- 4:38the videotape that proves otherwise, that's what I'm going to
- 4:41continue to believe, because what sort of investigation can you
- 4:44possibly have done. Oh, we talked to both of them
- 4:47and we decided that, well, we want to believe Nicholas Tartaglioni. Ah, yeah,
- 4:51because you know, he's such a believable guy. It's like
- 4:54walking into a room and trying to decide who you're
- 4:58gonna believe. The Taliban isis. But Tartaglioni's lawyer, Bruce Barkett,
- 5:05told NBC News that the day before Epstein's death, officials
- 5:09at the MCC informed him in an email that the
- 5:12internal investigation had concluded and his client would face no
- 5:15charges or internal discipline because it would look bad on them.
- 5:19They'd have to answer questions, right, why was he in
- 5:21the cell in the first place, Why do you have
- 5:23Epstein not in a secure area? Why is he off
- 5:26suicide watch? And they didn't want to answer any of
- 5:28those questions. So instead what they'll say is, nothing like
- 5:31that happened. Epstein tried to kill himself. We've always maintained
- 5:38and Nick did nothing wrong, and that's clearly been born
- 5:40out here by the jail itself. Barkett said, Ah, well,
- 5:43you know, because those internal investigations, they're so thorough, and
- 5:47they always come back and implicate people who they were investigating.
- 5:52Said nobody ever, you could take your internal investigation and
- 5:56shove it for all I care. How about an independent investigation.
- 6:00You know, an independent board comes in, independent investigators and
- 6:04they take a look. They'll never let it happen, though,
- 6:06because they don't want to be exposed. The problem for them, though,
- 6:11is their behavior is exposing them. A person familiar with
- 6:17the case confirmed that Barket's account is correct, and a
- 6:21spokesman for the MCC declined comment. Of course they did,
- 6:25and they'll continue to do that. Oh, we have no comment.
- 6:27We don't know what happened here. It's still under investigation.
- 6:31Federal prison officials have released no information on the July
- 6:34twenty third incident. Prison experts said the decision to take
- 6:37Epstein off suicide watch, where he would have been placed
- 6:41in a special cell and observed on a round the
- 6:43clock basis would have been more appropriate if the incident
- 6:47was determined to be an assault as opposed to be
- 6:50an attempt on his own life. So again, if he
- 6:53tried to commit suicide, why did you take them off
- 6:55suicide Watch? So for me, all signs point to this
- 6:59being an assault in this jail cell. I can't fully
- 7:02confirm that. However, what this means is that whatever happened
- 7:07to Epstein was inflicted on himself, said Cameron Lindsay, a
- 7:10former warden at four federal facilities. And it looks like
- 7:14a pretty straightforward case if someone who wanted to die,
- 7:16Oh well, says the warden who has skin in the game,
- 7:20I don't ever trust these ex officials as far as
- 7:23I can throw them. Most of them come out and
- 7:25just do public relations cover ups for their old institutions.
- 7:30Lindsay said the prudent safe decision would have been to
- 7:33kept him, to keep him on suicide watch watch. Gosh,
- 7:36if I were him, I want to be dead, and
- 7:38I'm sure there are multiple multitude of people that would
- 7:41have wanted him to be dead. Lindsay said. It's corrections
- 7:44one oh one. Oh, I'm glad that you know everything
- 7:46about this mister Lindsay. Who the hell is this Lindsay guy? Anyway,
- 7:51the prudent safe decision would have been to keep him
- 7:53on suicide Watch. Well, why was he off? Why was
- 7:56Tartaglioni in the jail cell in the first place. Until
- 7:59somebody answers that question, I don't want to hear about
- 8:01any of the other nonsense. Epstein, sixty six, died last
- 8:05Saturday in an apparent suicide in his cell in a
- 8:08special housing unit where he was supposed to be checked
- 8:11every thirty minutes. The death has brought increased scrutiny on
- 8:15the federal prison system, with lawmakers demanding answers on how
- 8:20a high profile inmate facing up the forty five years
- 8:23in prison could be left alone after a previous incident
- 8:26that raised questions about his emotional state. Well, my guess
- 8:29is this. He was assaulted. The prison didn't want you
- 8:33to know that, so they said it was suicide. But
- 8:36they stepped on their own foot because Jeffrey Epstein was
- 8:39taken off of suicide Watch and then he ended up dead.
- 8:42So when you start with the lies, you got to
- 8:44keep them going right. The FBI and the Justice Department
- 8:49Office of Inspector General are investigating the circumstances of Epstein's
- 8:53death at the MCC. The judge overseeing the federal sex
- 8:57trafficking case asked for details of the incident after the
- 9:00MCC's warden filed legal papers to officially inform the court
- 9:04of Epstein's death. What an absolute nightmare this has been
- 9:08from Jump Street. I remember as it was unfolding, watching
- 9:12it in real time and shaking my head every five minutes,
- 9:15asking myself, what in the hell is going on here?
- 9:17How can any of this be a legitimate way to
- 9:20go about an investigation. One open question, among others, is
- 9:27whether the investigations referenced in your letter will include the
- 9:30incident at MCC involving mister Epstein on or about July
- 9:34twenty third, twenty nineteen. Judge Richard Berman wrote in his
- 9:38response dated August twelfth, to my knowledge, it has never
- 9:42been definitively explained what the BOP concluded about that incident.
- 9:47The warden, who has since been reassigned from the facility,
- 9:50responded the same day, but offered no new information. Of course, not,
- 9:54of course, not, because they're never going to give us
- 9:56the real information. And that's the saddest part about all
- 9:59of this. They don't want to look bad, so instead
- 10:03of bringing it to light so that the problems can
- 10:06be fixed, they'd rather just cover it up. And that's
- 10:08basically what this is at this point, right, a cover up.
- 10:12So you need to tell me that this Warden La
- 10:14Mean and Die should have been shuffled to a different facility.
- 10:18He shouldn't have just faced the music and been held
- 10:21accountable for all of this. I can confirm that an
- 10:26internal investigation was completed regarding the July twenty third, twenty
- 10:31nineteen incident. The current investigations by the FBI and the
- 10:34OIG will include this incident as well, wrote the Warden Lea,
- 10:38Mean and Die. Accordingly, I cannot divulge any information about
- 10:42the private the private investigation at this time, and that's
- 10:46to Congress he's talking to imagine us trying to get
- 10:50information from these people. They don't want to give you
- 10:52any information because it makes them look bad. And then
- 10:56it's even worse when we find out shit went wrong
- 10:59and nobody fixed it anything. So it's just the same
- 11:02old stuff. We should we should just expect the same
- 11:04exact thing to happen over and over and over again,
- 11:08because obviously it's not a big enough problem for them
- 11:11to address it. Meanwhile, the rest of us are sitting
- 11:15here saying to ourselves, how could something like this possibly
- 11:18even happen? And how can it be that they're still
- 11:22obfuscating the truth all these years later? All right, folks,
