- 0:10Speaker A: Hello, weary traveler. I'm not sure what
- 0:13strange magic must have brought you here, but you have
- 0:16stepped into a realm of my creation. A
- 0:19ah, sprawling city filled with danger and
- 0:21glory and most importantly, lots of
- 0:24gold. I call it Isan
- 0:27Numis. Who am I, you might ask?
- 0:29The name is Jariv and I'm the patron
- 0:32deity of gambling. Long story
- 0:35short, this group of idiots, or as
- 0:38you may call them, heroes, made a bet with me that
- 0:41they had what it took to make a mass trove of gold,
- 0:44but left some.
- 0:45Speaker B: Of the key details blank.
- 0:47Speaker A: So I filled them in myself. I sent
- 0:50them to this pocket dimension into the city I
- 0:53had created with with brand new bodies they'd
- 0:56have to attune to.
- 0:57Speaker B: Can these fools pass my test?
- 1:00Speaker A: Or will they be trapped here forever? So experience
- 1:03my world of trials and tribulations and
- 1:06join alongside this posse of pitiful
- 1:08people. Or as I like to call them, the
- 1:11criminals of Isan Numis.
- 1:16Speaker B: Alright, welcome back to another episode of Criminals of Isla Numis.
- 1:19Hi, I'm your host, Dungeon Master
- 1:22Skylar. And I've been asked to
- 1:24do recap first, then characters I
- 1:27think. Okay, so last time. No, no, I'm
- 1:30getting head shakes. Okay, sorry. Alrigh. We'll do characters
- 1:33then recap. Algh. So to my right we've
- 1:36got Dave.
- 1:39Speaker C: Dave here playing Maky Mai,
- 1:42the shadow sorcerer bounty
- 1:44hunter in
- 1:47his past life. I don't
- 1:50think he knows that yet.
- 1:52Speaker B: Now isn't Makim Maki? Is that a fish or. No, it's
- 1:55Maim Mai. That's fine. There's no need to be a
- 1:58fish here.
- 1:59Speaker C: Makim Mai is actually based off of a character
- 2:01from Bleach.
- 2:03Speaker B: Nice. My wife would get that.
- 2:06Speaker D: I do not.
- 2:07Speaker B: I've them very minor
- 2:10character.
- 2:10Speaker D: Maki Mai, also was a. From
- 2:13our last campaign prior to this.
- 2:15Speaker B: Where all our characters come from.
- 2:16Speaker D: He was an npc. Well, Dave.
- 2:18Speaker B: That's true.
- 2:18Speaker D: Well, Dave was dming and he just joined our group.
- 2:21Speaker B: Yeah.
- 2:21Speaker D: And then slowly just became a core member
- 2:24to the point where he s.
- 2:25Speaker B: Became a playable character.
- 2:27Speaker D: Day when Skylar took back over his d. that's right.
- 2:30Speaker B: It all worked out in a fantastic way.
- 2:33Speaker C: Anyway, Maki was a human. Now he's
- 2:36a Cancnu source
- 2:37or'stretching his
- 2:40legs. enjoying life as a
- 2:42birdman.
- 2:44Speaker B: Getting a feel for the magic hidden within
- 2:46him.
- 2:47Speaker E: Pot.
- 2:48Speaker B: Indeed. Fantastic. Next to Dave, we've
- 2:51got Quinn, who's playing Feather
- 2:53McGregor.
- 2:54Speaker F: Your aka Littleil Sauce.
- 2:56Speaker B: That's right.
- 2:56Speaker F: Kinku Wizard. you know,
- 2:59going through a lot of changes in life Right now.
- 3:02And, I think, right now we're going. We're after work,
- 3:05I believe, right nowch, searching after my son
- 3:08or cousin or uncle. I can't remember what I was to.
- 3:10Speaker B: Him, but I think you said he was your cousin.
- 3:13Speaker F: Might have been.
- 3:14Speaker E: Yeah.
- 3:15Speaker F: But, we got to find, silly frillly willie.
- 3:17Speaker B: Really?
- 3:17Speaker F: That's my silly frly willy.
- 3:20Speaker B: That's right. Awesome. Next to Quinn, we got
- 3:22Jackson.
- 3:23Speaker G: my name is Jack. I play Desz, who
- 3:26was a trident fighter turned cancou
- 3:29ranger. fun fact about Des is,
- 3:32although he comes from an underwater world,
- 3:35he prefers dry
- 3:37rubs over a
- 3:39marinade.
- 3:40Speaker D: It is dry season.
- 3:41Speaker B: It is dry rub season. That's right.
- 3:44Has he ever seen the movie Wateror with, KE
- 3:47costner?
- 3:47Speaker G: You know, he saw it once when he was
- 3:50real young. and he remembers
- 3:53that it was like the
- 3:56normal world, but submerged the water, and he was like, what's
- 3:59so wrong and scary about this? Why are they punishing
- 4:02the man with gills? Why is gills a secret?
- 4:04Yeah, it'just
- 4:05Speaker B: It's a very offensive movie when you think about it from that angle.
- 4:08Yeah, that's fair.
- 4:09Speaker G: It was, like, poking fun at his race.
- 4:12Speaker D: Wa Water world exists.
- 4:15Speaker B: There's a play. There's a play within this
- 4:18dungeon dragons homebrew world, and it's called the waterw
- 4:21world.
- 4:21Speaker G: They lifted up his shirt, and they're like, he's a
- 4:24trident. It was very offensive.
- 4:26Speaker B: Yeah, it was very offensive. Awesome. Next to
- 4:29Jackson, we've got fatty lumpkins.
- 4:32Speaker E: All right, Fatty here. He plays
- 4:35keto, the druid elf who
- 4:38turned into a echoite
- 4:41cobal and
- 4:44is.
- 4:44Speaker G: Which is a hilarious mixture.
- 4:47Speaker B: M.
- 4:47Speaker G: You know what's scarier than one cobalt? Two
- 4:50cobalts.
- 4:51Speaker E: Yes. It's like a lizard infestation.
- 4:54Speaker B: I thought you were gonna say than
- 4:57about,
- 4:57Speaker C: Can someone say pac tactics.
- 5:00Speaker B: I thought you were gonna say, you know what scare you one
- 5:03Everything.
- 5:04Speaker E: He gave them to me.
- 5:06Speaker D: No, I.
- 5:07Speaker F: No, No.
- 5:07Speaker D: I don't think if you have echo.
- 5:09Speaker E: Net, you give pactk tactics to your.
- 5:11Speaker G: But I think you technically get one attack each.
- 5:14So, like, if you spawn, your
- 5:17echo knight could potentially, like, do.
- 5:20Oh, what's it called? unleash incarceration
- 5:23incarnation when you have one force.
- 5:25Speaker F: Oh.
- 5:25Speaker G: You could flank an enemy with yourself,
- 5:28right?
- 5:29Speaker B: I don't know if I can.
- 5:30Speaker G: Because you can take an action to
- 5:34put your echo knight behind them, and
- 5:37then you can use his bonus action to use the
- 5:39echo knight to attack said enemy.
- 5:42So you can flank an enemy.
- 5:44Speaker B: Bonkers. We'll Figure that out to flush out.
- 5:47Speaker E: All these echo kns.
- 5:48Speaker B: Yeah. Attributes.
- 5:50Speaker E: Attributes, capilities. Probably be corrected on the rules in
- 5:52the comments.
- 5:53Speaker B: That's true.
- 5:54Speaker G: Who cares?
- 5:55Speaker B: We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out, and we'll have some fun along the way.
- 5:58Fantastic. and finally, last but not least, we got
- 6:00Cameron. Hi, Cameron.
- 6:04Speaker F: Hi, Cameron.
- 6:06Speaker B: Tell me about yourself.
- 6:07Speaker D: I play Roick Frostbeard. he was a
- 6:10barbarian dwarf. Now
- 6:13he's turned into a little goblin. Little arcane trickster
- 6:16goblin. But now he's turned into
- 6:19a little boy named Silly Frillly Willie.
- 6:22Speaker B: Full kn.
- 6:23Speaker D: We just got kidnapped.
- 6:24Speaker B: First, middle and last.
- 6:26Speaker D: Yeah, full title.
- 6:27Speaker B: Silly. Really?
- 6:28Speaker H: Really.
- 6:28Speaker D: And you just got childnapped.
- 6:30Speaker G: Childnapped kid.
- 6:33Speaker B: For any kids.
- 6:34Speaker D: Well, kidnapped applies to both adults and kids.
- 6:37A child napped applies c.
- 6:39Children.
- 6:40Speaker B: Well, I said I was gonna do the little, getting
- 6:43kidnapp. What happened?
- 6:44Speaker D: Adult. And they're like, ha, you got kidnapped.
- 6:48That's all I think kids are supposed to do.
- 6:52Speaker B: You got adult.
- 6:56What A nuna. Reverse card. Big baby.
- 6:59Well, I said I was gonna give a recap, after the character
- 7:02introductions. And then you got all these characters that are trying to add the recap
- 7:05into their introductions. But whatever the case, let's
- 7:08jump into the episode and I'll do the recap here after the
- 7:11little transition.
- 7:17Speaker E: All.
- 7:17Speaker B: Ah, right. So last time
- 7:20you guys were helping out Gideon to
- 7:23find the alleged reincarnation of his son
- 7:26McGregor.
- 7:27Speaker F: No, no, McGrill. McGr.
- 7:28Speaker B: Oh, sorry, I'm not McGrer. McGregor is sor.
- 7:30Speaker F: My last.
- 7:31Speaker B: Let me restart there. You were working with Gideon
- 7:33McGriddle. Not really with him. I guess you were
- 7:36helping him out to find what he assumed was
- 7:39his reincarnated son. Simply,
- 7:42goes by McGriddle. that feather McGregor
- 7:45had at one point been best friends and work
- 7:48partners with, and allegedly killed
- 7:52in the line of duty. But, like, he
- 7:55did it allegedly in the line of duty.
- 7:58Anyways, you guys are helping, Giney
- 8:00McGriddle to, find this alleged
- 8:03reincarnation that he had put into a puppet, having done
- 8:06some sort of strange ritual, believing that he had brought his son's
- 8:09soul back and into said puppet. the
- 8:12puppet has since escaped and has been
- 8:15allegedly kidnapping
- 8:18children in the area. You guys
- 8:20had gotten some clues from around the town
- 8:23square, and you had
- 8:26dressed roricup as a little child
- 8:29named Silly Frilly Willie, who
- 8:31went skipping off into an alle dark alleyway and
- 8:34came across a strange figure, who kind
- 8:37of coaxed him to the clock. Tower. The rest of you are
- 8:40unaware where he is, but you guys are quickly
- 8:43following the tracks alongside a couple of
- 8:46town guards in search of
- 8:48the, fake child
- 8:51that you have used as your bait. And
- 8:54that's where we set ourselves at right now.
- 8:57You guys are running down, or maybe not running, but walking
- 9:00down this alleyway, following the tracks. Des
- 9:03is sniffing along the ground
- 9:06and what you find is you see the series
- 9:09of tracks that were left behind very obviously
- 9:12by a small goblin creature.
- 9:14Speaker G: small boy.
- 9:15Speaker B: A small boy goblin creature.
- 9:18And, every once in a while, like around a
- 9:20corner, you will see a strange pair of
- 9:23footprints. They look like just a generic pair
- 9:26of shoes. but Des, given that your
- 9:29favorite enemy is constructs, you recognize
- 9:32these?
- 9:33Speaker G: I get a little twitch in the eyebrow.
- 9:35Speaker B: You do get a little twitch in the eyebrow. And you
- 9:38recognize these as,
- 9:40possibly resembling the same shoes
- 9:43designed that Gideon
- 9:45McGregorgrdle. Sorry, Gideon McGriggle.
- 9:49Speaker G: Gideon McGriddle.
- 9:50Speaker B: There we go. MC.
- 9:53Gideon McGriddle has used on
- 9:55his other dolls and creations that
- 9:58he. His puppets, etc. having been in his shop,
- 10:01having kind of an eye for such things, you recognize these and then
- 10:04they seemingly just disappear. And then a little ways
- 10:07further in, as you're following your friend's footsteps,
- 10:10you find them again just in one spot, just
- 10:13one pair of footprints, and then they disappear. And
- 10:16you follow that for a little while until eventually you
- 10:19find the entrance to the
- 10:22clock tower. It's in a kind of a more run down
- 10:24space here. It doesn't look like anyone uses this area
- 10:27too often. It doesn't have any shops. It's solely kind of the
- 10:30more rundown, houses
- 10:33residence area. So aside from the people that must
- 10:36live around this area, there's not too many people in the
- 10:39area. And that's where you guys find
- 10:42yourselves. The tracks of your friend
- 10:44Roric, AKA Silly Frilly Willie, seem
- 10:47to disappear at the steps leading up
- 10:50to the door of the clock tower.
- 10:55Speaker G: Des goes ahead, goes
- 10:57aheads, and pulls out his
- 11:00morningstar and walks,
- 11:03through the door to the clock tower.
- 11:04Speaker B: Straight in'm.
- 11:05Speaker G: I'm ascending.
- 11:06Speaker B: All right, he's ascending.
- 11:08Speaker H: Oh, geez. Your friends real eager there.
- 11:11sure looks like you're, you. What did you say it was?
- 11:14Your cousin, your nephew?
- 11:16Speaker B: yeah.
- 11:16Speaker E: All right.
- 11:17Speaker H: Your nephew, cousin, probably went right in
- 11:20there. shoot, we got actually a couple of things to
- 11:22do. but it just seems like you guys are on all set, on
- 11:25your way. If that works for you.
- 11:28Speaker F: I prefer you come with us.
- 11:30Speaker H: You want us to come with you? Oh, geez.
- 11:32Speaker C: I prefer if you did it.
- 11:33Speaker H: Oh, gosh, we're really getting two sides of the coin
- 11:36here.
- 11:36Speaker B: And top it off, we can use.
- 11:38Speaker H: A little bit rude.
- 11:39Speaker F: We could use the extra help.
- 11:42Speaker H: well, tell you what. All right, well, let's just go check
- 11:45it out there and see where things are at. I don't
- 11:48even know why I thought leaving was an option. We should
- 11:51pre probably see this thing through.
- 11:53Speaker G: You know, it's not very nice to use people as human
- 11:56shields.
- 11:56Speaker B: That's exactly what we're doing.
- 12:00Speaker D: I do find it funny that these guys are in charge of
- 12:02finding the kids who have been kidnapped
- 12:06and get to the location where they most likely are. And
- 12:09o well, bye, guys. Have a nice day.
- 12:11Speaker B: You learned the reason for this. One of them leans over and he.
- 12:13Speaker H: Says, gee williker, Steve, I'm really getting the
- 12:16heebie jeebies around here. I I know. I was
- 12:19hoping that we might get out of it, Henry, but, it's.
- 12:22Speaker B: Looking like we're kind of stuck in.
- 12:23Speaker H: It, to be honest with you. This is the one place we really haven't
- 12:26looked yet.
- 12:27Speaker B: It's the one place we've been
- 12:30avoiding.
- 12:31Speaker H: It like the plague this whole time. Steve and I think it's
- 12:33about time we just buck up and get it
- 12:36done.
- 12:37Speaker G: I really like that these guards are just the moose from brother
- 12:39bear. That's the best.
- 12:43Speaker B: And so. Ah, behind you guys.
- 12:45Speaker F: No, I think it's, you know, you guys are the experts
- 12:48here, right?
- 12:49Speaker H: in what particular area?
- 12:51Speaker F: here. What soldiers?
- 12:53Speaker H: You know, we town guards. I mean, I think
- 12:55Steve's got a little bit of military
- 12:58historysh're getting a third batt.
- 13:00Speaker F: But you're here to protect us, right?
- 13:02Speaker H: O sure.
- 13:02Speaker F: Well, I think you guys should go first.
- 13:05Speaker H: Okay.
- 13:06Speaker F: All right.
- 13:06Speaker H: I suppose I can't find any flaws in that
- 13:09logic.
- 13:10Speaker G: Sounds like pre halfway up the.
- 13:11Speaker H: I mean, we're gonna have to go in after him.
- 13:13Speaker B: He's ar.
- 13:13Speaker F: Yeah, we better get going. We better get going.
- 13:15Speaker H: O.
- 13:16Speaker D: All right.
- 13:16Speaker B: And they go hustling up.
- 13:17Speaker H: Right.
- 13:18Speaker B: Wait for us, though.
- 13:18Speaker H: But what's your name there, little bity? Okay.
- 13:21Speaker B: And they go running inside.
- 13:24Des, I don't know what you. Are you guys following after him?
- 13:26Speaker F: Oh, yeah, we's going in behind. Oh, I just want them in front of they ll
- 13:29meet you.
- 13:30Speaker B: Sure, sure. All right.
- 13:31Speaker C: Imagine us going in m after Des. He goes ahead,
- 13:34and we all go in Scooby Doo style.
- 13:36Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:38Speaker D: your arms awkwardly up.
- 13:41Speaker B: Rushing inside. You guys are Instantly
- 13:45surprised to find that the
- 13:47interior of this space is far
- 13:50larger than a clock tower would
- 13:52suggest. The Clock towers'build is fairly narrow.
- 13:55It looks like it's really just enough space would be
- 13:58inside to, like, go up a ladder or maybe, like, a
- 14:01winding st staircase to get to the top, do whatever repairs you need
- 14:04along the way, and then descend out. And
- 14:07that's pretty much the end of it. as you guys step inside,
- 14:10you find yourselves. You do see the spire that leads
- 14:13upwards. But the sort of
- 14:15expanse of space within here definitely,
- 14:19suggests that there's an unnatural amount of room
- 14:22inside the space. It's quite dark. The
- 14:24shadows are long and intense.
- 14:27but that's not the part that surprises you the most. The part that
- 14:30surprises you the most. Looking around at sort of the scaffolding
- 14:33that makes up, the sort of stairway or
- 14:36walkway that leads up, the spire to the
- 14:38spire is strings
- 14:41that sort of hang down. And at the end of each of these
- 14:44strings, you see, what look like children
- 14:47all tied up and wrapped up in these strings
- 14:50hanging there. Almost like it's a. Or something along those
- 14:52lines.
- 14:53Speaker E: Do you think you're pure, alive?
- 14:55Speaker B: they do, yeah. As you kind of watch, one of
- 14:58them as it's sort of, like, sways ever so slightly back
- 15:01and forth, you can see that it seems this child
- 15:03seems to be breathing. although very shallow, they
- 15:06all seem to be unconscious and weak.
- 15:09some of them are looking obviously very malnourished, as if
- 15:12they've been here.
- 15:13Speaker E: For a little while, and they're just
- 15:16hanging over a bottomless pit. That
- 15:19is the clock tower.
- 15:20Speaker B: No, so it's, sort of. You got, like, the center spire that shoots all
- 15:23the way up that kind of holds everything. And then you've got a walkway that goes up. and they're sort
- 15:26of scaffolding that holds that walkway. And they're kind of just
- 15:28hanging off various sections of that scaffolding. So some of them are
- 15:31higher up than others, but some of them are only, like, maybe,
- 15:3410ft off the ground. Maybe not even that.
- 15:37Speaker G: Well, Des would like to instead take out his sickle and
- 15:40start cutting down.
- 15:42Speaker B: Yeah.
- 15:42Speaker G: Cutting down the kids.
- 15:43Speaker B: Yeah. You, you cut down one of the kids, do you?
- 15:45It I
- 15:48gonna say, how are you?
- 15:50Speaker G: Like, so are they tied and then
- 15:53suspended down?
- 15:55Speaker B: Grab.
- 15:56Speaker G: I'll grab the rope at the top, cut them down, put them on the
- 15:59scaffolding or on the steps.
- 16:01Speaker B: And so wherever it's safest. Yeah.
- 16:03Speaker H: O.
- 16:03Speaker G: You know, just.
- 16:04Speaker B: I clarify that you're not just, like'just.
- 16:08Speaker C: Good thing I brought the youngling Slayer
- 16:10gre Go.
- 16:13Speaker B: As you cut these children down, you lay them down.
- 16:16They're still seemingly unconscious, but you get maybe a couple
- 16:19of them before you start to hear the sound of, one
- 16:22of them in particular seems to be wrapped very
- 16:24heavily. And it seems to be wiggling in this very
- 16:27moment.
- 16:28Speaker E: Kita would just like to take this moment to take a second
- 16:31look at Des, who, not three episodes
- 16:34before, had just ste farmmed
- 16:37a kid to his, I don't know, potential death.
- 16:40Speaker G: I didn't stiff farm him.
- 16:43Speaker F: tried to save his.
- 16:45Speaker E: He s trying to make up for.
- 16:47Speaker G: Past no, from the very
- 16:50beginning, I truly care for children. I don't want to
- 16:53see them get hurt. That's why I chucked him out of.
- 16:56Speaker B: The like it was either me or the
- 16:59minotaur. Quit crying.
- 17:00Speaker D: Can I save your life?
- 17:02Speaker B: You didn't save my life. You ruined my death.
- 17:09but yeah, one of them seems to be, struggling
- 17:12and swinging kind of back and
- 17:15forth a little bit from inside of its almost cocoon
- 17:17like set of strings.
- 17:18Speaker F: They're really small.
- 17:20Speaker B: It's fairly small.
- 17:21Speaker G: Is it silly?
- 17:23Speaker B: Yeah.
- 17:27Cameron, roll for silliness.
- 17:31Speaker D: 7.
- 17:32Speaker B: That sill. It's not per reallyill is it though?
- 17:3615. There's very'some very
- 17:39familiar frills sticking out from amidst the string.
- 17:42Speaker F: That's pret frilly.
- 17:43Speaker D: That might.
- 17:44Speaker B: It's not that silly. But it is pretty pretty. Not very silly.
- 17:47Speaker F: That might be him. We need to cut him down.
- 17:49Speaker D: It's frilly.
- 17:49Speaker G: It's frillyrilly
- 17:52silly. Frillly Willie.
- 17:53Speaker D: Right.
- 17:54Speaker G: We're just freeing Will just.
- 17:57Speaker B: This is just boot like, he.
- 18:00Speaker E: Was ro for Willie, though. He could be a frilly
- 18:03Millie.
- 18:04Speaker B: There might be only one way to find out.
- 18:06Speaker F: Can I. If I were to do, like.
- 18:09Speaker G: Can't be him.
- 18:09Speaker F: He's not fire bolt on it would it just burned the outside
- 18:13and then he just drop.
- 18:15Speaker B: That would be the.
- 18:16Speaker F: That's about the only way I can get you down.
- 18:17Speaker B: Got Is that if like a poke.
- 18:19Speaker G: At like, fire ball or is it fire. Fire bolt.
- 18:22Speaker B: Fire bolt Bolt. Yeah. Just to make
- 18:24sure. Yeah. Rolling it. You roll a fire bolt
- 18:27attack.
- 18:28Speaker G: There's a very big difference between the two.
- 18:31Speaker D: I had to ask.
- 18:33Speaker B: Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker D: Why we went from cutting down the other kids
- 18:37to see he's not around you.
- 18:42Speaker F: He's way far ahead.
- 18:43Speaker D: Well, sure.
- 18:44Speaker F: Okay. I was just. I didn't say I necessarily wanted. I just
- 18:46asked what would happen 'm busy cutting kids.
- 18:49Speaker D: But then you.
- 18:50Speaker B: Are you cool doing It Well I.
- 18:51Speaker F: Want to see what everybody else's options have
- 18:55because the only thing I have.
- 18:56Speaker B: It'S like a 15.
- 18:57Speaker F: The only thing. Yeah. So the only thing I have is a staff. So I'd just
- 19:00be sitting to poking.
- 19:01Speaker B: And like I'm gonna get him down the p.
- 19:04But you use the firebolt.
- 19:05Speaker F: And you shoot pot above.
- 19:07Speaker B: Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker F: No oay.
- 19:09Speaker B: And then it quickly sizzles and drops.
- 19:12Speaker F: Gotta cach arms. Let's see if I catch him. Roll to see if
- 19:14I catch.
- 19:15Speaker G: This is a whole romantic.
- 19:19Speaker F: Look into his eyes.
- 19:20Speaker D: I'm still tight up.
- 19:21Speaker B: Oh yeah.
- 19:22Speaker D: T l different shot.
- 19:26Speaker B: You should have left him hanging there. And then Spider man kissed
- 19:29him.
- 19:31Speaker D: Your own.
- 19:32Speaker F: So I start digging at it.
- 19:33Speaker B: That's your what do see? You see
- 19:36the face of silly FR Willy.
- 19:38Speaker F: He I'm holding you right now.
- 19:40Speaker D: But I awake.
- 19:41Speaker B: Yeah, you're awake.
- 19:42Speaker D: Oh,
- 19:43I'm
- 19:47a little tied up here.
- 19:49Speaker F: I'm just pulling out the string.
- 19:50Speaker E: Yeah.
- 19:51Speaker B: Yah.
- 19:51Speaker C: You disappeared and we got a little worried.
- 19:53Speaker D: Oh well I was ah. Pretending to be
- 19:56Willy.
- 19:58Speaker B: The strings that you guys're kind of ripping away, they're like
- 20:01a thin like a thread. Like a clear thread.
- 20:04It's not so much like a spider silk or anything
- 20:07like that.
- 20:07Speaker F: Like just to clarify, not necessarily sticky.
- 20:10Speaker B: No, it's not sticky.
- 20:11Speaker D: I do want to say I saw the little puppet thing.
- 20:14Speaker F: Now what do you look like a puppet? O. Okay.
- 20:16Speaker D: Rainbow coat on. And then he led me here and then
- 20:19I shocked him.
- 20:20Speaker F: Yeah. Then what happened when you came inside?
- 20:23Speaker D: He kicked me in here.
- 20:25Speaker F: He kicked you?
- 20:27Speaker B: Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker D: That was the last thing I remember. All right. Then
- 20:31we rolled credits.
- 20:33Speaker F: You foughtht valiantly.
- 20:35Speaker D: I get it.
- 20:35Speaker C: So is that some sort of dice.
- 20:37Speaker D: I don't know you term someone's used before.
- 20:39Speaker C: Are you gambled with them?
- 20:41Speaker D: Yeah. Did you win?
- 20:44No. As you can see as you can see them
- 20:46a lot of credits. Pulled the wool over your
- 20:49eyes. I see in my body.
- 20:52Speaker F: All right, is he free now?
- 20:55Speaker B: Yeah. I see. Yeah, you managed to pull him free. And just as you do
- 20:58you hear something kind of out of the corner of your ear and you turn
- 21:01to see just these little dolls. They just
- 21:04seem really just generic. They just have like
- 21:06regular. A little bit bigger than Barbie size. They're more
- 21:09like fully built. It's not like this tiny little
- 21:12pencil whatever creature. It's just like a small
- 21:15puppet. I'm thinking marionette kind of.
- 21:18Yeah. Or almost like ah, Lilo and Stitch. How she has that
- 21:21weird little
- 21:21Speaker E: Thing that she madeoodoo.
- 21:23Speaker B: Yeah, the like, weird, creepy. Yeah, it kind of looks like that. About that
- 21:26size. And it's like. It sounds like it's moving on a
- 21:29clockwork and it just. It sounds like it's moving on a clockwork and it just kind
- 21:31of,
- 21:34kind of comes walking out from the shadows and it starts to approach
- 21:37you.
- 21:38Speaker D: Is that's a puppet? When I turn to the DM
- 21:40desk, the puppet.
- 21:42Speaker F: It is not.
- 21:43Speaker E: The buuppet is.
- 21:44Speaker D: No, it is not the, puppet. It
- 21:46was.
- 21:47Speaker G: It looked.
- 21:47Speaker D: Had rainbow on that. I don't know what the heck that
- 21:50is. Doesn't look friendly.
- 21:53Speaker G: I smashes one with, the Morningstar.
- 21:55Speaker B: All right. Rolling attack. Okay.
- 21:57Speaker G: The Morning Star. PL 5. 17.
- 22:00Speaker C: 17.
- 22:00Speaker B: That definitely hits.
- 22:02Speaker G: Cool. 9.
- 22:03Speaker B: 9 damage. So you swing the morning start.
- 22:06Slam right into it. It goes flying backwards and slams
- 22:09into the wall and kind of falls onto the ground. And
- 22:12it looks totally disfigured at this point. You know, one arm is
- 22:15gone, one leg is, like, sliced or crushed in
- 22:17half. it's got kind of like pieces of it, like, hanging off of
- 22:20the little clockwork tendons and sort of allow it
- 22:23to operate. But with the other half of its body, it keeps kind of
- 22:26like clawing towards you. It
- 22:29still seems to be ququote alive.
- 22:32Speaker G: So just one of them currently
- 22:35just. It's a construct. I hate it. I want to smash it again.
- 22:38Speaker F: Is he back with us?
- 22:39Speaker B: Yeah.
- 22:39Speaker G: And we're on the same room.
- 22:40Speaker F: O. He's just cutting down.
- 22:42Speaker C: Kiss.
- 22:43Speaker H: Yeah. D O. You didn't even
- 22:46let the thing talk to you here. Just give me a moment.
- 22:48Speaker B: It's just a little doll. One of the guys, one of the guards
- 22:51comes walking up to it and he's like, what's.
- 22:53Speaker H: What's wrong there, little fella?
- 22:55Speaker B: And it just grabs him by the collar and just pulls his face
- 22:58down, and slams it into the ground.
- 23:01It deals
- 23:04seven damage to this guard who he raises
- 23:07up. Is's got tooth falling out of his mouth. There's
- 23:10just blood all over from a broken nose.
- 23:12Speaker H: O. Ge oh, gosh, she turned me
- 23:14somebody.
- 23:15Speaker B: And the other guy comes running over. He's like, oh, don't worry
- 23:18there.
- 23:18Speaker H: I help you.
- 23:19Speaker B: O. He just trips over the guy and falls under the
- 23:22ground. And he looks up and now he's missing a tooth and his nose
- 23:25is all bloodied up. O. We got a go
- 23:28for back up.
- 23:29Speaker H: O. This is real bad. I knew he shouldn't have come in
- 23:31here.
- 23:33Speaker D: I'll just.
- 23:34Speaker B: I'll whack one or these guys
- 23:37again.
- 23:38Speaker G: I'll do it again.
- 23:39Speaker B: I'm rushing over. It's still holding the one guy by the collar,
- 23:42like trying to slam his face into the,
- 23:45Speaker G: 17 again.
- 23:46Speaker H: Nice.
- 23:46Speaker B: All right.
- 23:47Speaker G: It's a good movie. Fr
- 23:49Matthew PA O that time it's
- 23:52only a five.
- 23:53Speaker B: That's okay. That's enough to just shatter it
- 23:56completely. Crushing it into the ground. Jz I
- 23:59can't believe it. We gotta go get ourselves
- 24:02some backup.
- 24:02Speaker H: don't you guys worryry. We'come back here.
- 24:05Speaker B: And, they both start stumbling over each other and they run
- 24:08towards the door. And as they reach it, it's already
- 24:11closed behind you. And they reach it and they start
- 24:14shaking the door to try to open it. And it doesn't seem to be
- 24:16opening.
- 24:17Speaker H: Oh, Jes, this is right out of me
- 24:19nightmares. It's not
- 24:22opening. Guys.
- 24:23Speaker B: Now re looking back at you guys as if they're
- 24:26looking for answers.
- 24:27Speaker D: I don't knowuse it's a polull do.
- 24:30Speaker B: They tried to pull. No, I'm still not working.
- 24:33Speaker G: That's a lift door, like a garage door.
- 24:36Speaker B: They both reach underneath and they're trying to lift. I'm still
- 24:39not itect.
- 24:41Speaker D: Turn the handle.
- 24:42Speaker B: Oh, Jez, it's got. It's got a bar. It doesn't have a
- 24:45handle.
- 24:46Speaker G: This is a pretty advanced.
- 24:47Speaker C: That seems like a firecode violation.
- 24:50Speaker B: A who bar? Definitely might be.
- 24:52Speaker D: Get me, a boo. Give me a booze while you're there.
- 24:56Get it?
- 24:57Speaker H: This is no laughing matter bar,
- 25:00silly.
- 25:00Speaker B: Really? Really.
- 25:02Speaker C: I lean over to feather m. Oh, yeah.
- 25:04Speaker D: I'm still dressed up. yep.
- 25:05Speaker C: Good thing we brought the professional D bro.
- 25:23Speaker B: As you guys, make, this joke, all of a sudden you can hear
- 25:26the sound of more of these clockwork
- 25:28dolls coming
- 25:31out. You got probably four more of these things.
- 25:34And, the one guard that got, you know, slammed into the ground, I think
- 25:37it was to Henry.
- 25:38Speaker H: He goes o jesish more of them. What
- 25:41are we gonna do, Steve?
- 25:44Speaker C: Well, I suppose we better help these fellas.
- 25:46Speaker G: I just started black just
- 25:49start blasting.
- 25:50Speaker C: Maki pulls out his crossbow and
- 25:52you know cock spec the firing
- 25:55mechanism and aims at
- 25:58the ones approaching the guys and shoots a shot
- 26:01off.
- 26:01Speaker B: All right, let's all roll. Initiative.
- 26:04Speaker F: O ye 19.
- 26:07Speaker E: 21.
- 26:10Speaker G: point. No, 12.
- 26:1212. I can't count today.
- 26:15Speaker E: 21.
- 26:15Speaker B: 21.
- 26:16Speaker E: Great.
- 26:16Speaker G: Mo 10.
- 26:17Speaker B: Karen 9.
- 26:20Speaker D: Great movie.
- 26:22Speaker B: Know not movie. That is a
- 26:25good one.
- 26:26Speaker G: Hey, Elijah, the story'lacking just a
- 26:29tados is pretty good movie.
- 26:31Speaker D: We got another one. What'd you get?
- 26:34Speaker B: You got like a 23. So, Quinn, you are kicking us off.
- 26:37Speaker F: how many are there that we're finding?
- 26:38Speaker B: Four.
- 26:38Speaker F: There's four of them.
- 26:39Speaker B: There's four of them. Ye.
- 26:40Speaker F: All right. I'm gonna use Thunder Wave. Okay.
- 26:42Speaker B: Ther wace.
- 26:44Speaker D: All right.
- 26:45Speaker B: Do I think they make it? Do they make a check?
- 26:47Speaker F: Yeah. So a wave of thunders. Each
- 26:50creature constitution saving throw
- 26:53or failed save. They take 2d8 on. If
- 26:56they succeed, they still take damage.
- 26:592 take 2 dam.
- 27:01Speaker B: So they're either taking 1 or 2
- 27:03damageah.
- 27:04Speaker D: They're really gonna learn their lo.
- 27:05Speaker B: Here's the part you're really gonna hate. All of them except that one
- 27:08managed to save. So we're getting them started off
- 27:11fantastic. Next up we got Nick. Unless you want to move
- 27:14or any of that kind of stuff. So you get, you know, your action, your bonus
- 27:17action.
- 27:18Speaker F: And I'm definitely sitting there looking at my hands
- 27:20like okay, what I was.
- 27:23Speaker E: Expecting'Going to m see these
- 27:25little munchkins
- 27:28crawling towards him. So the image that comes to
- 27:31mind is if you've ever played Super Mario
- 27:34World, the boss battle with Bowser is he spits
- 27:37out these little bowser wind up
- 27:39toys.
- 27:40Speaker B: Right.
- 27:40Speaker E: That's what I'm envisioning. Climbing towards me. Ye.
- 27:43So he's going to unsheath his glaive.
- 27:46Speaker B: Okay.
- 27:47Speaker E: And sprint towards the nearest
- 27:50thing and make a slash. Slinging
- 27:53slasher attack.
- 27:59Does a 20 hit absolutely with
- 28:03dead sent sl stab right into is going
- 28:05to dull do 11 dam
- 28:0811 damage.
- 28:10Speaker B: Well done. You slice this doll straight
- 28:13in half. I'm gonna say you probably sliced
- 28:15the second time. It's sort of like a crisscross pattern. You
- 28:18slice it once across the slice, slicing it and a half. And then you
- 28:21come back for a second slice across half the other way. Instantly
- 28:24destroying the doll.
- 28:25Speaker E: He's going to make it a very impressive
- 28:28look behind him as if to say. Did you
- 28:31see that?
- 28:32Speaker B: Are you looking at somebody specifically?
- 28:34Speaker E: I don't know. Just the crew behind him. I don't know.
- 28:36Speaker H: Geez, that was really impressive. Thank goodness he's
- 28:39here to save us.
- 28:41Speaker F: I definitely clugt for nice.
- 28:44Speaker B: next up, the dolls. The dolls are gonna rush
- 28:47up to you guys list
- 28:50higher and oh,
- 28:53that's unfortunate.
- 28:56So one of them rushes up to Roick
- 28:59and leaps into the
- 29:01airorick. Oh, sorry.
- 29:04Silly frilly Willy leaps into the air and
- 29:07lunges towards you. oh, that's a nat 20.
- 29:10Speaker D: No, my frills.
- 29:11Speaker B: My reallyillies'in my willies.
- 29:13Speaker D: Not my willie.
- 29:14Speaker B: Oh, he's gonna punch me right to Willy. it
- 29:17deals 10 dam Willie talks it third
- 29:20person, it deals 10 damage to frilly
- 29:23Willy. Silly Frilly Willy. to
- 29:25Willy. The next one comes rushing
- 29:28towards Keto, lunges towards his foot and
- 29:31just kind of like lifts its arms into the air and just
- 29:34goes to slam down on your foot. Does a 14 hit.
- 29:37Speaker E: No, it does not.
- 29:38Speaker B: It does not. It slams down on the ground. You quickly move your
- 29:41foot away just in time for it to miss.
- 29:44the next one, it's rushing towards Fe McGregor.
- 29:47Ak little sauce. And it goes
- 29:50to throw a punch. You nimbly dodge out of the way
- 29:53and it slams its fist into a chunk of
- 29:56the scaffolding and just kind of
- 29:58takes out a chunk of the wood just straight from it. And
- 30:01then the final one goes rushing towards the two guards
- 30:04that are cowering by the door. Oh,
- 30:07and definitely hits on that one. Dealing
- 30:10another four damage to the guy who we is face slammed
- 30:13down. He crumples down. He is
- 30:15unconscious. The other guard panicking,
- 30:18starts. he'd be helping his friend, but he's kind of just freaked out by the thing
- 30:21and starts just running around in circles. He's just running around
- 30:24the area trying to avoid these dolls. He's terrified. We
- 30:27jump over to the next person in the order, and that is
- 30:30Dave.
- 30:31Speaker C: These things are getting out of hand.
- 30:33Speaker D: All right.
- 30:34Speaker C: And he, he lines up the beat of his crossbow or
- 30:37whatever to one of the ones chasing
- 30:40the guard.
- 30:41Speaker B: Oay, I like that image too.
- 30:44Like it's chasing him around. He's not just
- 30:46running around the room, he's being chased.
- 30:49Speaker H: Jesus.
- 30:51Speaker G: Hands in air.
- 30:53Speaker B: Play away.
- 30:5621 Holh cow. That's definitely hitting. Get
- 30:59a lock onto one of the dolls. Following its
- 31:02speed. Perfectly hit with within 8
- 31:05damage. 8 damage.
- 31:07Speaker F: You fire.
- 31:08Speaker B: Its tiny body gets hit with
- 31:11this. normally it would be just, you know, it's a small,
- 31:14crossbow bolt. But, you know, obviously the size of
- 31:16the crossbow bolt in proportion to the size of this doll is
- 31:19a very different situation than if you were shooting some humanoid
- 31:22slams into it, takes the whole body flying across the
- 31:25room, slamming its arm into,
- 31:28sort of hits it in the shoulder and embeds itself into
- 31:31a chunk of scaffolding. It just kind of pulls and
- 31:34pulls until it just tears its own arm off,
- 31:37leaving it attached to the scaffolding and keeps,
- 31:40moving towards you guys. It gets a bead on you and starts
- 31:43heading in your direction. Specifically, it's still alive, but
- 31:46barely. Next up, we got Jackson.
- 31:48Speaker G: I'm just going toa keep hitting things with the flail off.
- 31:51Speaker B: Fair enough.
- 31:52Speaker G: Is there any close to Me or do I act?
- 31:55Speaker B: There's, let's see. There's the one that's attacking
- 31:57Keto. There's the one that's attacking Frilly
- 32:00Willy. Silly Frillly Willy. And then there's the one that's
- 32:03currently beining its way towards,
- 32:06Mai. An angry death glare.
- 32:08Speaker G: I'm gonna intercept the one running towards Mai
- 32:11and just like wing
- 32:14m my flail.
- 32:15Speaker B: It's like polo.
- 32:15Speaker G: Just down. Yeah.
- 32:16Speaker B: Like I'm playing the horseam. Nice. All right,
- 32:19Go for body of the thing. Sure.
- 32:23Speaker G: Does a, 12.
- 32:26Speaker B: That is just shy.
- 32:28You come down, you with it. Swing down with
- 32:31it. it ever so slightly just kind of taps
- 32:34the stub that it had for an arm. If it still had its arm there,
- 32:37this definitely would have made contact. But its arm is now
- 32:39gone, giving it a strange level
- 32:42of added defense. Cameron, you are next up on the
- 32:45order. Silly Frilly Willie.
- 32:48That's you.
- 32:48Speaker D: how many little fellos are there?
- 32:51Speaker B: Well, there's one that's like, practically on top of you.
- 32:53Speaker D: Yeah, I don't like that.
- 32:54Speaker B: there's two other ones you like.
- 32:57Speaker D: So you said this room fil a bunch of scaffolding?
- 32:59Speaker B: Yes.
- 32:59Speaker D: They're like anywhere near me that's like, I can climb up.
- 33:02Speaker B: yeah. I mean, there's plenty.
- 33:04Speaker D: I want to do that.
- 33:05Speaker B: Okay.
- 33:05Speaker D: Run away using a bonus action to disengage.
- 33:08I gonna run and start climbing up some scaffolding.
- 33:11Speaker B: Okay.
- 33:11Speaker D: So I get like a higher vantage point.
- 33:13Speaker B: Sure.
- 33:14Speaker D: And then I'm going to aim my
- 33:16crossbow. My little short bow.
- 33:18Speaker B: Sorry, short bow. Okay.
- 33:20Speaker D: And, I'm going to fire a
- 33:23arrow at.
- 33:26So there's the one chasing that dude.
- 33:29Speaker B: Yes.
- 33:30Speaker D: How far away would that be?
- 33:31Speaker B: Probably only like 15ft.
- 33:33Speaker D: How far away is it from him?
- 33:35Speaker B: Oh, from him'it's. maintaining a pretty solid
- 33:37five foot.
- 33:38Speaker F: He's.
- 33:39Speaker B: He's kind of. He'd like, run and then he kind of looks behind him like in every
- 33:42horror movie where the person is like, could probably just focus
- 33:45a little bit more.
- 33:46Speaker D: All right. Here.
- 33:48Speaker B: Oh.
- 33:51Speaker E: 10.
- 33:52Speaker B: That is not. What are you shing with crossbow? a
- 33:55shortw short, though. Yeah. You pull an arrow out, notch
- 33:58it, fire down, and any misses.
- 34:01Speaker D: I'm a little dizzy from all the climbing.
- 34:03Speaker G: That's true.
- 34:03Speaker B: And you just got broken out.
- 34:05Speaker F: Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker E: and I'm a little silly and you're silly.
- 34:07Speaker D: Yeah's. I go o.
- 34:09Oops.
- 34:11Speaker B: At least you didn't hit the guard.
- 34:13Speaker D: Ah.
- 34:13Speaker F: what did like do la
- 34:16we.
- 34:17Speaker B: Go back to the top of the order. With Quinn, AKA
- 34:20Lil Sauce.
- 34:21Speaker F: Am I able to use magic missile now too?
- 34:23Speaker B: Yeah, you could use ma. Okay, so that's three
- 34:26bolts. You can aim them differently.
- 34:29how many?
- 34:30Speaker F: Your what?
- 34:30Speaker B: So there's three total.
- 34:33Speaker F: What's, the one closest to me, I'm gonna aimo two, with him and one in
- 34:36another.
- 34:36Speaker B: Well, the one that's closest to you, the one probably that got it that ripped its
- 34:39own arm off. so it's pretty.
- 34:40Speaker F: Do one at him and two it another.
- 34:42Speaker B: All right, sounds good. So you roll me that damage.
- 34:45Four damage. It instantly gets vaporized by your
- 34:48magical bo.
- 34:49Speaker F: Cool. two.
- 34:51Speaker B: Two.
- 34:52Speaker F: Okay, three.
- 34:55Speaker B: Three. Awesome. You managed
- 34:57to fire several bolts, all of which slam
- 35:00into. Did you say you were gonna do two on the same one
- 35:03or spread them all?
- 35:04Speaker F: One on the first guy, and that was rol we two on a second.
- 35:07Speaker B: So you obliterate that first guy,
- 35:09100% instantly. Just gets slammed by your
- 35:12magic. Just shatters into pieces so small all, that it's
- 35:15practically vaporized. The second one, you fire two of
- 35:18your bolts at. Bam. Bam. Both slamming into it,
- 35:21dealing a total of five extra damage, leaving
- 35:24it glitchy in a sense. Like, as it moves, it kind of
- 35:26like has this weird twitch to it. It seems like you may have
- 35:29dislodged some of the gears and stuff that makes it work.
- 35:32it's still coming, obviously, but it definitely looks
- 35:35like it's been pretty severely injured. Jumping back over to
- 35:38fatty. You are, up, sir.
- 35:39Speaker E: So he's going to take
- 35:42a brief glimpse at his surroundings.
- 35:45The little munchkin that's chasing
- 35:48the guard is that.
- 35:50Speaker B: That one's dead.
- 35:51Speaker E: That one's dead.
- 35:51Speaker B: That's the one he hit with his. His magic ball.
- 35:54Speaker E: So which munchkins are laughed and I, guess what is their
- 35:56positioning?
- 35:57Speaker B: Yes, there's the one that was trying to get you in the foot. And then there's the one
- 36:00that attacked Roick Ak silly
- 36:03frly will I.
- 36:03Speaker D: Thank you.
- 36:04Speaker E: I guess. Look down at his feet, at the little
- 36:06munchkin right in front of y.
- 36:10Just kind of do like a
- 36:13you, show not pass type of action with
- 36:16this. Yeah,
- 36:18he'll try one of those things.
- 36:20Speaker B: It.
- 36:22Speaker E: Oh, that's why he is a fighter and not a
- 36:24wizard, because that was a one.
- 36:26Speaker G: Oh, definitely. You're
- 36:29all stabbed it into your.
- 36:32Speaker B: So what happens is as you go to slam down on this
- 36:35little bot, it stands directly underneath. You have a
- 36:38perfect shot, but it reaches up
- 36:41and catches it almost perfectly, grabbing
- 36:44onto your glaive. And then it pulls right out of your
- 36:46hands. And now it holds this glaive.
- 36:51Speaker D: Oh, my word.
- 36:53Speaker B: Immediately after your turn follows the dolls
- 36:55themselves. No. So the one doll
- 36:58is holding your glaive and slashes at
- 37:01you with it. it's not really
- 37:04proficient, so I don't think I can add its proficiency. So that's just a
- 37:07straight 10, which I know doesn't hit you. you nimbly
- 37:10dodge out of the way, still surprised by this doll
- 37:13having taken your weapon right out of your hands. But thankfully
- 37:16it's unable to hit you with it. The other one, looks
- 37:18up and sees silly frly Willie has climbed
- 37:21out of the way and looks for a new target and sees
- 37:25Machi off in the distance with nobody bothering him and
- 37:28says, I'm gonna go bother him in its mind.
- 37:30Speaker D: And it clockw says, you, you,
- 37:34rushes.
- 37:34Speaker B: Towards you and trips over
- 37:37a single bolt that had come out of one of its
- 37:40fellow dolls. it picks itself up off the ground and
- 37:43starts coming towards you. But it didn't really do too
- 37:46much or it didn't get super close. and then
- 37:49ironically, we jump over to you, Mai, who's
- 37:51seeing this doll slowly moving towards him.
- 37:54Speaker D: Hey, stay back there, Phila Noe.
- 37:56Speaker C: And Mai tries to reach out with
- 37:59his mage hand to stop this
- 38:02creature. It's like,
- 38:05you know, s. A mage hand is pretty weak and it can't attack
- 38:08or grapple, so it's like, ineffective. It's just
- 38:11kind of like batting it aside and coming at him. He's like,
- 38:14man, if only this hand had some sort of
- 38:17substance to it.
- 38:19Speaker B: You see, as you cast your mage hand to it to block
- 38:22it, it sort of like looks like it's struggling and it's
- 38:24like, pushing. And you see it like, digging its
- 38:27feet into the ground as it pushes this, this mage
- 38:30hand back towards you as it continues to make its way. It definitely
- 38:33slows it down, thoughah, if.
- 38:35Speaker C: I just try harder. And he grips it
- 38:38with the mage hand and then
- 38:41he's, exerting his effort. And then you see
- 38:44the spectral image of the hand changes
- 38:47form slightly. And you see, like a
- 38:50skeletal fingers start to grow out of the center
- 38:53of it as it turns into
- 38:56a, chill touch.
- 38:57Speaker B: Oh, very
- 39:00cool. So what do I, what do I do for that?
- 39:03Speaker C: A ghostly skeletal hand is now wrapped
- 39:06around this creature.
- 39:07Speaker B: That's right.
- 39:08Speaker C: and I make a range spell attack.
- 39:10Speaker B: Okay.
- 39:12Speaker C: It's gonna be an added 20 to.
- 39:15Speaker G: Holy cow.
- 39:15Speaker B: Yeah, that's gonna hit.
- 39:18Speaker C: Then it's a nice oldle twoub
- 39:21two Hole damage. Hey, is this
- 39:23creature undead by chance?
- 39:26Speaker B: I'm gonna say that it's being
- 39:29powered on undead energy.
- 39:32Speaker C: O or necrot touch on a hit.
- 39:35The target takes necrotic damage.
- 39:38It can't regain hit points until the start
- 39:40of my next turn.
- 39:42Speaker B: Okay.
- 39:43Speaker C: And the hand clings to the target in
- 39:45the meantime.
- 39:46Speaker B: Okay.
- 39:47Speaker C: if it's an undead target, it has
- 39:49disadvantage on attack rolls against me.
- 39:52Speaker B: Oh, okay. Awesome. Yeah, I'm going to say it's definitely
- 39:55being powered by undead magic, and I would count that
- 39:58as applicable. So what happens is this. This
- 40:01finger, this comes out, it kind of just curls around
- 40:04this doll, and you just see the doll kind of
- 40:06like become very rigid, and it just kind of starts to shake a
- 40:09little bit as the magic suctions life
- 40:12for some of the undead life force straight out of it. And it
- 40:15seems to start to glitch a little bit. Kind of like I was talking about
- 40:18before. Fantastic. Awesome. That's very
- 40:21cool. Jumping forward, we got
- 40:23Jackson.
- 40:24Speaker G: Now, before I do my turn,
- 40:27I think we've talked about this before, but I kind of want another
- 40:29general consensus because I don't remember what we decided
- 40:32on. Does hail of thorns
- 40:36also apply to throne
- 40:39weapons? because the description says
- 40:43the next time you hit a creature with a range weapon
- 40:46attack. or
- 40:48it creates a rain of thorns that sprouts
- 40:51from your ranged weapon or ammunition.
- 40:54Speaker B: Okay.
- 40:55Speaker G: So, I were to throw.
- 40:57Speaker B: Sure.
- 40:57Speaker G: The morningar that
- 41:00suddenly becomes a ranged weapon.
- 41:03Speaker B: Okay. Okay. Yeah, I see what you're saying. yeah, I
- 41:06would say so. I mean, all things considered, like, the mechanics of D
- 41:09and D there, they tend to be
- 41:12missing things that like, oh, this is completely
- 41:14situational. So I would say this is one of those situations where, like,
- 41:17yeah. Morningst stars don't typically say
- 41:19thrown, because most people wouldn't do that.
- 41:23But in this case, somebody is doing that,
- 41:25and I don't see a reason why it shouldn't
- 41:28be. If you're somebody that's like a rules lawyer, that's like
- 41:31throwing a huge fit about it. It seems kind of unfair because, like,
- 41:33again, I can thr it, but the.
- 41:36Speaker G: Spell description is pretty vague.
- 41:38Speaker B: Right, Right. I would say if anything
- 41:41considered a consider it something that you're
- 41:44not proficient in. Okay. For the actual,
- 41:47like, thrown weapon.
- 41:49Speaker G: So no bonuses, just straight roll.
- 41:51Speaker B: Right, Right.
- 41:52Speaker F: Okay.
- 41:53Speaker G: I could do that.
- 41:54Speaker B: Okay.
- 41:54Speaker G: How good are your dexterity saving throws.
- 41:59Speaker B: For everybody?
- 42:00Speaker G: Now, for Nick spec. Oh, just specifically for
- 42:03construct is still, alive.
- 42:05Speaker H: Right.
- 42:05Speaker B: Averageage, what is plus three?
- 42:08Speaker G: That's pretty good.
- 42:09Speaker B: Pretty. Honestly, pretty decent.
- 42:11Speaker G: So that that one is still alive, correct?
- 42:13Speaker B: Yes.
- 42:14Speaker G: I'm gonna throw my morning
- 42:17star and I'm going to do
- 42:20hail of thorns.
- 42:21Speaker B: All right.
- 42:21Speaker G: Which to hit with the morning star
- 42:25is a 15.
- 42:26Speaker B: That's gonna hit five. Five damage.
- 42:29Speaker G: Nice. And then it's a
- 42:31dexterity saving throw.
- 42:33Speaker B: And then, Fatty, you're gonna have to also make this
- 42:36just. Ooh, just. I got
- 42:39a 21 that.
- 42:41Speaker G: You know what? He'll take
- 42:44half damage though.
- 42:45Speaker B: That's fine. As you see this Morningstar kind
- 42:47of spin towards you being hurled from your friend
- 42:50Des. And as it slams into the
- 42:53doll above you, just kind of out of
- 42:56mysterious nothingness, these tail
- 42:58of thorns. Yeah. Just come shooting down from
- 43:01the. Like I said, it's really just. There's nothing even there. It's not even
- 43:04like a portal. They just kind of come out of thin air.
- 43:08Speaker E: does an 11 save me from impending
- 43:11punctures?
- 43:12Speaker B: Jackson, does 11 save him?
- 43:14Speaker G: Does.
- 43:14Speaker B: All right, so doll will take half damage,
- 43:17whereas an extra two damage. All right.
- 43:20Speaker G: Just take four damage.
- 43:21Speaker B: Sorry. These small
- 43:24thorns, come flying out of
- 43:27the air. A couple of them embedding into the doll. it
- 43:30just kind of, kind of gets slammed as if it's getting like
- 43:33punched or something. these thorns kind of embed into its
- 43:36little fabric clothing. but it keeps on coming.
- 43:39Speaker G: But now something has two weapons.
- 43:41Speaker B: That's true. It turns to
- 43:44see the morning star and goes pick it
- 43:47up. I have to wait till it's turn. Obviously.
- 43:49Speaker D: you dark souls Music.
- 43:52Speaker B: Whatever the case, we jump over to Silly freely. Willie,
- 43:55up on the scaffolding. It's your turn.
- 43:57Speaker D: Silly forly Will, he sees that a doll down there has
- 44:00become too powerful. Grabbing two weapons,
- 44:05he hamm his short bow at and
- 44:07aims between the eyes.
- 44:10You take out this boss.
- 44:12Speaker E: At the same time, Keto is going
- 44:15to grant tactical teamwork, which
- 44:18is when A creature within 30ft of you makes some
- 44:21tech. Rollling a creature within 5ft of you. You can use your
- 44:24reaction to grant advantage on that roll.
- 44:26Speaker B: Okay, 23.
- 44:29Speaker D: I didn't need it.
- 44:31Speaker B: All right, sounds.
- 44:33Speaker D: Thanks for then that one.
- 44:35Speaker B: You're ready an arrow. And this time you're a lot more confident because
- 44:38this target isn't moving. It's kind of just standing there,
- 44:41slowly reaching for a Morningst star that lays like a
- 44:44couple of feet away from it. And you take your aimy fire
- 44:47this arrow. Roll me some damage.
- 44:50Is anyone close to it Nick
- 44:53or, Fatty Ise?
- 44:55Speaker C: We're more of acquaintances.
- 45:02Speaker D: How did I do that? I Rolled three ones
- 45:05with my sneak attack.
- 45:09Speaker B: Dam he dam. Okay, so as you fire this
- 45:12arrow, the arrow goes flying through the air,
- 45:15slams right in dead center into the chest of this doll
- 45:18and nails it into the ground. As it does,
- 45:21the, glaive slips through its fingers, falls down
- 45:24and promptly shoo slices the doll in half.
- 45:27Keto your that still my kill.
- 45:30Keto, your life now lays on the ground in front of you.
- 45:32you can pick it up on your turn.
- 45:35Sorry.
- 45:36Speaker G: Are there still dolls alive?
- 45:38Speaker B: There's still one doll left alive.
- 45:41And, it is now
- 45:43quinr.
- 45:44Speaker F: So I got my staff here. I'm gonna run up to it.
- 45:47Speaker D: Wa. Two hands.
- 45:48Speaker H: Two hands.
- 45:48Speaker E: Wow.
- 45:49Speaker B: All right. Well, you don't have anything in your other hand, so you are allowed to
- 45:52that. All right. You come running up to it and
- 45:55Happy Gilmore golf style. What did you
- 45:57roll? Four.
- 45:58Speaker G: A four.
- 45:59Speaker B: Oof. And you take a swing. And much like
- 46:02Happy Gilmore in the earlier part of the movies,
- 46:04you missed. Did you do that? I'm pretty sure that's what happened.
- 46:06Speaker F: I don't think he misses.
- 46:07Speaker E: He misses.
- 46:08Speaker F: He just sucks at putting.
- 46:09Speaker B: oh, he just sucks at putting. More similar to myself
- 46:12whenever I go golfing, you with it
- 46:15completely missing the ball, or in this case, the
- 46:17doll Alogether. That's okay
- 46:20because you turn to look for assistance on this
- 46:23final hopefully kill. And you can see
- 46:26Fatty, AKA Keido, reaching for his glaive
- 46:29on the ground.
- 46:30Speaker E: Keido is going to grab it, turn and
- 46:32charge. Since sauce is over there.
- 46:35He does have advantage on this
- 46:38roll due to his pack tactics.
- 46:40Speaker B: Right?
- 46:40Speaker E: Okay, so he's not gonna get him that one.
- 46:44Speaker D: How did you do that?
- 46:45Speaker B: Did you roll it?
- 46:46Speaker D: That one?
- 46:47Speaker E: A net one and a net 20.
- 46:51Good thing is the short'take the better of
- 46:54the two.
- 46:54Speaker B: So as you're running towards, you trip
- 46:57ever so slightly on one of the dead dolls. But in the
- 47:00process, it angles your glaive just
- 47:03perfectly so that you come down to spear
- 47:06this bl. Last remaining ball just
- 47:08dead center into its body. Roll that
- 47:11damage 17. Your
- 47:14blade from your glaive goes straight into the
- 47:16chest. And the sort of the mass of the
- 47:19blade just splits the whole thing in half. It sort of just like kind
- 47:22of folds outward as your glaive splits through and in
- 47:25two halves, this doll lays there completely
- 47:28motionless. All the dolls have been
- 47:30killed. But you don't have time to celebrate because
- 47:33you hear a voice come from above you.
- 47:35Speaker A: Well, it looks as if youve taken out my
- 47:38little henchman. How
- 47:41frustrating. Took me quite some
- 47:43time and quite a bit of my energy
- 47:46to bring them to life. But thats
- 47:49okay. I think they did a bang up job
- 47:52weakening you for me to come in and finish
- 47:55the job.
- 47:56Speaker B: And as you look above you, you can see almost like a
- 47:59spider coming down a web, this strange,
- 48:02colorful puppet creature.
- 48:04Roick, obviously you recognize it as, the one
- 48:07that sort of coaxed you in here. And it
- 48:10slowly descends just about maybe 30ft
- 48:13above most of you. Except for, of course you, Roick, who's on the
- 48:16scaffolding or on the walkway. he's maybe like just kind
- 48:18of 10ft, maybe 5, 10ft away.
- 48:21Speaker D: Is he like monologuing as he's like.
- 48:23Speaker B: Coming down a little bit?
- 48:24Speaker D: Can I just shoot the rope above him?
- 48:26Speaker B: Yeah, go for it.
- 48:27Speaker D: Okay, well, he's mid monologue. I'm just gonna aim.
- 48:29Speaker B: He's got me.
- 48:30Speaker H: Monologue 21.
- 48:32Speaker B: 21. You pull out your arrow and he goes,
- 48:35wait a minute. Flies for, hits the
- 48:38string, slicing it. which, to be fair, I'm pretty
- 48:41sure Mythbusters, prove it. This isn't really a thing
- 48:44that happens. But by. I digress. It's more fun.
- 48:46Speaker D: It hit it.
- 48:47Speaker B: It hits it and it slices the string, causing
- 48:50the puppet to fall to the ground. Just as he's
- 48:53about to hit the ground,
- 48:56he disappears and reappears on the staff. They
- 48:59not too far from you, like.
- 49:00Speaker D: Right next to me.
- 49:01Speaker B: Close. Not quite next to you. And he says,
- 49:04that was a clever.
- 49:05Speaker A: Trick, much like when you shocked my hand
- 49:07earlier. But you won't get that
- 49:10lucky.
- 49:11Speaker D: This T ro sticks his hands up and
- 49:13starts like. He starts like, making like tickle fingers and
- 49:16goes, let me out him, Let me out him. He's gonn start
- 49:19charging Adam to go shock him.
- 49:21Speaker B: And as you charge Adam to shock him again, we
- 49:24will end tonights episode on a cliffhanger.
- 49:32Speaker I: Thank you so much for listening to Criminals of Isa Numumis,
