- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six sixty four through six sixty six,
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Devil's Number, Operation sop starts, Usalon charges forth, a
- 0:22Speaker 1: burning passion Rebecca versus Suleiman. I hope I'm saying that right,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and the end of the match A surprising result of
- 0:31Speaker 1: block d e these episodes. You guys, there is a
- 0:40Speaker 1: portion of these episodes that I had to stop call
- 0:44Speaker 1: Owen in rewind and then play for him because it
- 0:48Speaker 1: was so much and I needed him to see it,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and he was even more delighted than I hoped he
- 0:54Speaker 1: would be. Sorry about that, guys, we got we got
- 0:59Speaker 1: some activity over here. Also, welcome to spoil Me. Welcome
- 1:19Speaker 1: to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very
- 1:22Speaker 1: much to Florian for commissioning this episode. Florian and Sarah
- 1:27Speaker 1: m are here in the chat, so welcome to both
- 1:29Speaker 1: of you. And I just want to apologize ahead of time.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Pippen is in my office and him and the kitten
- 1:36Speaker 1: are playing, and they don't normally play when they're in
- 1:39Speaker 1: my office. They usually are in here to nap in
- 1:42Speaker 1: peace away from the other cats, so you know, they
- 1:45Speaker 1: seem to be calming down, but they were rowdy for
- 1:47Speaker 1: a second there. Apologies. If you hear some thunkings or
- 1:51Speaker 1: jinglings in the background, that's probably the kitten's bell on
- 1:54Speaker 1: her collar and Pippin jumping around. So these first of all,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I'm going to address Seraphim in the comments said, so
- 2:08Speaker 1: from last time, you figure out where you've seen Koala before.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And I asked Saraphim to wait until I was actually
- 2:16Speaker 1: recording because I do not remember, but I suspect Sarafhim
- 2:20Speaker 1: is going to remind me, and I just wanted to
- 2:22Speaker 1: wait until it was on tape. Saraphim says, Koala is
- 2:26Speaker 1: the little girl from the Fisher Tiger flashback. The Fisher
- 2:32Speaker 1: Tiger flashback. You're gonna have to help me out. That's
- 2:37Speaker 1: not reminding me. I'm trying to even remember who Fisher
- 2:40Speaker 1: Tiger is. There are too many characters in this show.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I've said it once and I'll say it again. Guys. Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: apologies that I wish that that had been a moment
- 2:53Speaker 1: of like oh, but I'm just no, not happening. Florian
- 2:58Speaker 1: says a Fishman who was a slave. Sarah Fran says
- 3:01Speaker 1: the one from Fishman Island who freed all the slaves
- 3:05Speaker 1: from the celestial asshole. Oh okay, yeah, and then the
- 3:10Speaker 1: one that he wound up dying and became like a
- 3:15Speaker 1: legend to everybody right right, right, right right, and she
- 3:20Speaker 1: was in his flashback. I don't remember her, So I'm sorry, guys.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I feel like this should be much more of a
- 3:28Speaker 1: revelation and I'm disappointing you, but I just have to
- 3:31Speaker 1: be honest about my either my poor memory or the
- 3:36Speaker 1: scale of the show. But it's cool that we've seen
- 3:40Speaker 1: her before. And yeah, she does not ring any bells
- 3:43Speaker 1: for me at all. The name Kowala Bagley gave like
- 3:48Speaker 1: a bell ring, and I'm not even sure I can
- 3:50Speaker 1: trust that, because I don't know if we heard her
- 3:53Speaker 1: name before or not. I think we probably did. But uh,
- 4:00Speaker 1: he was with Jimbay and Arlong and they transported a
- 4:03Speaker 1: little girl, oh I remember now, and she expected to
- 4:11Speaker 1: be their slave, right and then was like surprised at
- 4:15Speaker 1: the fact that they treated her well, and they wound
- 4:20Speaker 1: up becoming like very protective of her. Okay, now I remember,
- 4:26Speaker 1: thank you. Appreciate you all holding me by the hand
- 4:30Speaker 1: for that one. So let's listen. I'm just going to
- 4:37Speaker 1: start from the beginning here, and eventually we'll get to
- 4:39Speaker 1: the part that I had to call Owen in to
- 4:41Speaker 1: watch because I am I am curious if you guys
- 4:46Speaker 1: are going to be able to guess which part it was,
- 4:49Speaker 1: but I feel like it shouldn't really be that big
- 4:51Speaker 1: a surprise, but we'll get there eventually. So we start
- 4:56Speaker 1: things off with Loofy and Uh the Samurai and Zoro
- 5:02Speaker 1: running down the street and they are Loofy is still crying.
- 5:08Speaker 1: They are all dressed as toys and loufy. Eventually, Zoro
- 5:16Speaker 1: just winds up veering off on his own the way
- 5:19Speaker 1: that he does, and I was very pleasantly surprised that
- 5:22Speaker 1: he winds up rejoining the two of them really quickly. Actually,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be a much more
- 5:29Speaker 1: drawn out experience, and instead it's just sort of this
- 5:34Speaker 1: aside to just be like, even when he is with
- 5:36Speaker 1: people and even when it should be very clear, he
- 5:40Speaker 1: still manages to fuck it up. So I was glad
- 5:43Speaker 1: that that was cut somewhat short. Also really appreciate the
- 5:47Speaker 1: presence of Wika, who is never shy about telling all
- 5:52Speaker 1: of them how much they suck, Like Loofy at one
- 5:58Speaker 1: point when she's like, we can't just barge in there
- 6:01Speaker 1: and tell them all who we are, and Lufy's like,
- 6:04Speaker 1: why not, and she says, I'm beginning to have a
- 6:06Speaker 1: lot of doubts about trusting you people, And I was like,
- 6:09Speaker 1: that is the correct response. Honestly, we have the plan
- 6:14Speaker 1: that's happening with all of our little people, and we
- 6:18Speaker 1: get a really nice, once again sort of cross section
- 6:22Speaker 1: of the plant, the smile factory, and the position that
- 6:27Speaker 1: our friends are in and how they are managing to
- 6:30Speaker 1: get in underground, and there's like a hidden passage that
- 6:36Speaker 1: they have been digging apparently for a while for explicitly
- 6:41Speaker 1: this purpose. And this is just a thing that I
- 6:46Speaker 1: forgot to mention, was this character Sugar, who's the little
- 6:53Speaker 1: girl who can turn people into toys. They come up
- 6:57Speaker 1: with the name of an operating procedure. I don't even
- 7:02Speaker 1: know if that's even what I want to call it,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but eventually the toy soldier says something like SOP is
- 7:14Speaker 1: an acronym for sugar oversurprised paralysis or something. I can't
- 7:21Speaker 1: remember what the p is, but it is extremely goofy
- 7:27Speaker 1: and very funny to me that first of all, we're
- 7:29Speaker 1: gonna call it that oversurprise is just I'm sure that's
- 7:35Speaker 1: quite literally what I guess what they're trying to do.
- 7:38Speaker 1: But also, and here's the thing that I kind of
- 7:43Speaker 1: seraphim says, panic, thank you over surprised panic. So this
- 7:50Speaker 1: was something I meant to bring up last time, but
- 7:52Speaker 1: as happens with me, I got on my little pangents
- 7:55Speaker 1: and then I never got around to it. There is
- 7:59Speaker 1: an assumption that if she is made to pass out,
- 8:06Speaker 1: everybody who is a toy will turn human again. I
- 8:14Speaker 1: want to know why he thinks that, and you could
- 8:19Speaker 1: tell me that this is a thing, and you know what,
- 8:22Speaker 1: like I am not, here is what I am assuming
- 8:29Speaker 1: and what I am guessing he is also assuming. But
- 8:33Speaker 1: I just want to bring it up because it did
- 8:36Speaker 1: sort of make me stop and go like, wait, where
- 8:38Speaker 1: is he getting that? But the thing that I am
- 8:42Speaker 1: thinking is that if you are a devil Fruit user,
- 8:46Speaker 1: it does seem like you really need to be conscious
- 8:51Speaker 1: for your abilities to work. And the thing is that
- 8:58Speaker 1: I'm having trouble with. I don't the idea of like
- 9:04Speaker 1: something that you have transformed then untransforming if it untransforms
- 9:12Speaker 1: when you are passed out, that would mean by necessity
- 9:20Speaker 1: that you would that everything that she transformed would turn
- 9:24Speaker 1: human again whenever she fell asleep. I like, I feel
- 9:30Speaker 1: like being asleep counts as being unconscious, and I don't know,
- 9:37Speaker 1: maybe that's maybe we're drawing a distinction here between the
- 9:42Speaker 1: type of unconscious they want to render her and the
- 9:48Speaker 1: type of unconscious that happens when you sleep. But like,
- 9:52Speaker 1: I'm just saying that to me, those really are pretty
- 9:57Speaker 1: That has to be pretty similar. And the only thing that, honestly,
- 10:06Speaker 1: I would accept this a little bit more if the
- 10:09Speaker 1: way that they were intending to knock her out was
- 10:12Speaker 1: a more physical blow, if they were saying, Okay, well
- 10:16Speaker 1: we've got to startle her and that is just going
- 10:19Speaker 1: to cause her to faint. Basically, this feels a lot
- 10:24Speaker 1: less reliable than saying like we've got to conquer over
- 10:29Speaker 1: the head and that kind of trauma to her mind
- 10:34Speaker 1: that's physical. I feel like I'd be more willing to
- 10:37Speaker 1: buy as a means of undoing everything that she has done.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It just doesn't really hit for me that simply making
- 10:46Speaker 1: her faint with surprise is going to be the thing.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So you know, it's like, I'm not trying to argue
- 10:55Speaker 1: with the assertion itself, because I believe it, but I
- 11:00Speaker 1: just feel like there is a line there that I
- 11:04Speaker 1: want to be drawn more distinctly so that it feels
- 11:08Speaker 1: like we're not just sort of saying whatever and this.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The weird thing about Sugar is that it doesn't really
- 11:24Speaker 1: seem like Sugar is very invested in turning people into toys.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Like the way that she is being handled by this guy.
- 11:38Speaker 1: He is the one that's encouraging her and talking about
- 11:41Speaker 1: how much fun it's going to be to turn people
- 11:43Speaker 1: into toys and won't she like that? And she is
- 11:47Speaker 1: giving me most noncommittal answers. You guys, it's just sort
- 11:51Speaker 1: of going like yeah, you know, Like there's no sense
- 11:56Speaker 1: of her being excited to do this, or passionate about
- 12:01Speaker 1: her ability, or like wanting to contribute to the gang.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I wasn't sure if it was going to turn out
- 12:11Speaker 1: that she was sort of a sadist and enjoyed making
- 12:16Speaker 1: people suffer, or if it was going to be that she,
- 12:19Speaker 1: like as a child, is obsessed with toys and so
- 12:23Speaker 1: when she can turn people into a plaything, that is
- 12:27Speaker 1: fun for her. But it really doesn't seem as if
- 12:31Speaker 1: she gives much of a shit, and I kind of
- 12:35Speaker 1: love that, Like I just I really thought we were
- 12:39Speaker 1: going to have somebody who was much more about it.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And the fact that she seems so indifferent and Saraphan
- 12:48Speaker 1: is in the chat saying it varies by devil Fruit,
- 12:50Speaker 1: but in general, sleeping and unconscious are different, okay, And
- 12:53Speaker 1: I mean, she's been doing this for the past decade.
- 12:55Speaker 1: You'd get bored too when it just becomes your daily job,
- 12:58Speaker 1: one would think. But it seems like there's a lot
- 13:01Speaker 1: of devil Fruit users out there who are still very,
- 13:04Speaker 1: very into whatever their power is. So I get what
- 13:08Speaker 1: you're saying, and it's probably true for like a child,
- 13:12Speaker 1: but if she were much more into it, I would
- 13:15Speaker 1: definitely accept it. I could see even like the gradual
- 13:20Speaker 1: turning of dress Rosa from a regular island into a
- 13:23Speaker 1: place that's like half peopled with toys, being the realization
- 13:29Speaker 1: of a child's dream, you know, like a kid who
- 13:31Speaker 1: wants to live on an island with living toys. I
- 13:35Speaker 1: could see very very much being in that like headspace
- 13:40Speaker 1: when I was a kid. But the fact that she
- 13:45Speaker 1: isn't that into it almost makes me think that we
- 13:50Speaker 1: are overdoing it on our plan a little bit, like
- 13:53Speaker 1: everybody's talking about we've got to like render her unconscious,
- 13:58Speaker 1: and I'm starting to think, like do we need to
- 14:01Speaker 1: do that, because it sort of feels like you could
- 14:05Speaker 1: just tell her, hey, it's ruining people's lives, would you
- 14:09Speaker 1: just stop it? And she'd probably be like, I don't care,
- 14:14Speaker 1: Like I'll stop. Fine, they asked me to do it,
- 14:18Speaker 1: so I kind of feel like I should. But if
- 14:21Speaker 1: it's you know, like I feel like she's the type
- 14:24Speaker 1: of person that she's given an order and she's just
- 14:27Speaker 1: gonna do whatever to get them out of her face,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I don't know. I really don't know what it is
- 14:34Speaker 1: that she's like getting out of the deal that she's
- 14:37Speaker 1: got with Do Flamingo. We see her eating these fruits
- 14:41Speaker 1: off her fingers that are she's got her finger stuck
- 14:44Speaker 1: in them the way that I did with like raspberries
- 14:47Speaker 1: when I was a kid, And these fruits are blue.
- 14:52Speaker 1: So I'm not sure if they're meant to be a
- 14:54Speaker 1: fruit that's like specific to Japan, or if it's just
- 14:57Speaker 1: a fruit that is does not exist in our world
- 15:00Speaker 1: or what. But a part of me is like is
- 15:03Speaker 1: that it is just she just love this fruit so much,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and they're just giving her an unlimited supply of it,
- 15:07Speaker 1: and that's all it takes for her to be very
- 15:09Speaker 1: like agreeable and amenable to whatever it is they tell
- 15:12Speaker 1: her to do, which would actually be kind of funny,
- 15:17Speaker 1: but anyway, so I just wanted to mention that, like
- 15:20Speaker 1: sop plan is being very funny. And there there's also
- 15:29Speaker 1: like a hidden passage down to the port, and he
- 15:32Speaker 1: says the toys are forced underground every night and slave
- 15:35Speaker 1: away until morning comes. So the toys in the city
- 15:39Speaker 1: have to put on a show like during the day
- 15:44Speaker 1: after having slaved away all night. Such is the fate
- 15:49Speaker 1: of all those who do Flamingo captures the Tontata included,
- 15:54Speaker 1: and that is some truly wild shit. I have been confused,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you guys. Remember I was trying to say, like, are
- 16:05Speaker 1: we using the toys as slave labor? And then I'm like, well,
- 16:09Speaker 1: that can't possibly be the whole story, because we see
- 16:12Speaker 1: a lot of toys just out here living their lives,
- 16:16Speaker 1: and it turns out no, we don't. We see the
- 16:19Speaker 1: same toys doing both things. And evidently, because they are
- 16:24Speaker 1: not human, they don't actually require sleep and they can
- 16:31Speaker 1: still survive, which makes them the ideal, you know, workmen
- 16:36Speaker 1: makes sense in the horrible way that capitalism often does
- 16:41Speaker 1: make sense. So, yeah, I was just you guys remember
- 16:46Speaker 1: probably that. I was just sort of like, I don't.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Are there different toys that are assigned to do different things?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Like what is the deal? And it's interesting that we
- 16:57Speaker 1: have this one toy that we saw yelling I'm your boyfriend?
- 17:01Speaker 1: How do you not remember me? And evidently that guy
- 17:04Speaker 1: is kind of the exception. Like what I mean by
- 17:08Speaker 1: that is everybody used to be a person that folks
- 17:13Speaker 1: who still are in dress rosas should remember. But I
- 17:17Speaker 1: guess most folks do not. They don't make a fuss
- 17:22Speaker 1: about it. They don't bother it seems trying to get
- 17:26Speaker 1: people to remember them. It seems like they are just
- 17:29Speaker 1: over here, like accepting their fate and feeling like what's
- 17:33Speaker 1: the point? And so this dude who causes a scene
- 17:36Speaker 1: in the middle of the street that is not a
- 17:39Speaker 1: common thing at all, And I was thinking about it, guys,
- 17:43Speaker 1: and like, how I would be And I think, because
- 17:49Speaker 1: of my deep seated fear of being like misunderstood, I
- 17:53Speaker 1: wouldn't be able to help myself. I would absolutely be
- 17:55Speaker 1: out here causing a scene, and I'd probably be trying
- 17:58Speaker 1: to logic my way through it, think about this, this
- 18:01Speaker 1: and this, How did that happen? Where did those things
- 18:04Speaker 1: come from? Don't you remember this day? Do you remember
- 18:07Speaker 1: the person who was with you? Like I would be
- 18:10Speaker 1: trying all the time to get somebody to consider this
- 18:15Speaker 1: gap in the stories in their mind, to see if
- 18:19Speaker 1: they could piece it together. And apparently that has never worked.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like there are any humans who know
- 18:30Speaker 1: what's really going on with the except for maybe Rebecca.
- 18:34Speaker 1: It's unclear because like Rebecca doesn't know that the toy
- 18:38Speaker 1: soldier is her father specifically, but I don't know if
- 18:41Speaker 1: she is aware that the toys used to be people
- 18:44Speaker 1: in general. I think not. I'm guessing not. I may
- 18:49Speaker 1: be wrong about that, but it doesn't seem like she
- 18:51Speaker 1: is in that. Like you know what I'm saying. The
- 18:57Speaker 1: way that she's talking about her goals are they are
- 19:00Speaker 1: all about just her and this one toy soldier only,
- 19:08Speaker 1: and there doesn't really seem to be a a grander
- 19:15Speaker 1: idea in her mind. It's very much whatever she is
- 19:18Speaker 1: working toward is just for personal reasons and just for
- 19:24Speaker 1: the record, there's nothing wrong with that. At all. But
- 19:26Speaker 1: I'm just trying to, you know, get a sense of
- 19:28Speaker 1: where she stands in all of this. So, Oh, Sarah
- 19:33Speaker 1: from says, the fruits this sugar is eating are meant
- 19:36Speaker 1: to be grapes. Oh, sticking your fingers in grapes. I
- 19:40Speaker 1: guess there are lots of different types of grapes, so
- 19:42Speaker 1: maybe that is something that you can do with certain grapes.
- 19:45Speaker 1: It does not matter, but I just okay. So Frankie,
- 19:52Speaker 1: he says that what I want to do is approach
- 19:56Speaker 1: the smile factory. Well he's really He's approaching the toys
- 19:59Speaker 1: how from the front and distract all of the guards
- 20:07Speaker 1: there so that everybody else can sneak in through this
- 20:11Speaker 1: tunnel without being noticed, and we get the best opening
- 20:17Speaker 1: for Frankie. And I really want to go on record
- 20:21Speaker 1: here and say that you guys know how often I
- 20:25Speaker 1: love Brooke and talk about how if it just weren't
- 20:29Speaker 1: for his creepiness, Brooke would be my No. Number One
- 20:34Speaker 1: guy for sure. I still Chopper is my Number one,
- 20:38Speaker 1: just because the creepy thing doesn't happen with Chopper, but
- 20:43Speaker 1: Brook he has that one flaw that really ruins it.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And Frankie, I feel I sleep on a little bit,
- 20:51Speaker 1: because honestly, there are so many scenarios that he has
- 20:55Speaker 1: been kind of left out of until the very end
- 20:59Speaker 1: due to the fact that he is kind of opee
- 21:01Speaker 1: a little bit, and so he's often like with the
- 21:05Speaker 1: sonny or he's off doing his own thing a lot,
- 21:08Speaker 1: and I just sort of forget about it and how
- 21:13Speaker 1: the way that he is played the role that he
- 21:17Speaker 1: plays in the script, and I'm saying that instead of
- 21:22Speaker 1: like the story because it was brought to my attention.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I noticed it in this episode, and then when Owen
- 21:29Speaker 1: showed up and rewatched it because I had to rewind it,
- 21:33Speaker 1: he commented on this as well, and I was like, yes, see,
- 21:36Speaker 1: that's what I was noticing just now as well. And
- 21:38Speaker 1: I feel like I want to put a little bit
- 21:43Speaker 1: more respect on his name because it was so great.
- 21:46Speaker 1: So he turns up and he is standing outside of
- 21:50Speaker 1: this front gate and all of these guards are out here,
- 21:54Speaker 1: and their reaction is, first, who is this guy? Where
- 21:58Speaker 1: are his pants? What's wrong with his hair? Because he
- 22:03Speaker 1: is able to turn his hair into a gun really
- 22:09Speaker 1: more of a cannon. And then one of the guys
- 22:16Speaker 1: comments on the fact that he has a triple chin.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And when he said that, of course I'm thinking about,
- 22:21Speaker 1: like when we talk about a double chin, a triple chin,
- 22:23Speaker 1: like the fat You know, I completely forgot about the
- 22:27Speaker 1: fact that Frankie literally has three points to his chin.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So when the camera zooms in on that, I'm like,
- 22:31Speaker 1: oh right, because for a second I was like, triple chin.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Frankie's like, buff, what do you mean. So we get
- 22:39Speaker 1: all of this and it's a wonderful introduction, and then
- 22:45Speaker 1: somebody yells, hey, Senor, take a look, and this tomato
- 22:51Speaker 1: is flying through the air. It's a bizarre cut because
- 22:54Speaker 1: when somebody says, Senor, take a look, the shot turns
- 23:00Speaker 1: to like from behind, and there's a woman leaning with
- 23:05Speaker 1: a bikinian so that her ass is like full on
- 23:08Speaker 1: in the camera, and I was like, oh boy, what
- 23:11Speaker 1: is this. I forgot that, like the way that things
- 23:13Speaker 1: are set up with this being an island, you can
- 23:17Speaker 1: be in town but also on the beach at the
- 23:19Speaker 1: same time. So for a moment I was just sort
- 23:22Speaker 1: of what what And we get I think the best
- 23:29Speaker 1: intro we have ever had for any villain ever on
- 23:35Speaker 1: the show. So this guy's tossing a tomato, which for
- 23:38Speaker 1: those who don't know. Tomatoes are my favorite food. I
- 23:41Speaker 1: love them so much. And he just bites into this thing,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and there is a Those of you who are fans
- 23:49Speaker 1: of Lord of the Rings know that Denethor, who is
- 23:52Speaker 1: Borimir's father, is notorious for this like horrible scene where
- 23:57Speaker 1: he bites into a tomato in a way that was
- 23:59Speaker 1: utterly unnecess I'm very traumatizing to a lot of us
- 24:02Speaker 1: who watched that film, And all I could think was that, like,
- 24:05Speaker 1: here is a guy who bites into a tomato and
- 24:07Speaker 1: makes it work. So he bites into this tomato, and
- 24:12Speaker 1: the woman standing next to him says, oh, no, Senor,
- 24:17Speaker 1: you can't just bite right into a tomato like that.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You need a napkin. It's too juicy. And as she
- 24:25Speaker 1: says this, it's it's almost too fast to catch. I
- 24:29Speaker 1: missed it my first time. And then when I rewatched it,
- 24:33Speaker 1: Owen glanced at me just as she was saying the
- 24:35Speaker 1: thing about the tomato because he thought this was the
- 24:38Speaker 1: moment and missed it himself, and I had to be like,
- 24:41Speaker 1: watched turn around, Senor, Senor Pink, as we find out
- 24:47Speaker 1: his name is, reaches out, grabs her bikini top and
- 24:53Speaker 1: rips it off and wipes his mouth with it. And
- 24:59Speaker 1: I'm thinking that this is going to be like a
- 25:02Speaker 1: real sort of like owning the bitches kind of moment,
- 25:08Speaker 1: but it's not. Even though it's very much that he
- 25:13Speaker 1: loves the bitches, all of the women here, it turns
- 25:16Speaker 1: out he thinks are way too young for him, which
- 25:20Speaker 1: is truly kind of refreshing. So he wipes his mouth
- 25:25Speaker 1: with it, he tosses it away. The girls all fall
- 25:32Speaker 1: over each other and go, oh, senor you're so hard boiled.
- 25:39Speaker 1: And this is when we get like a zoom out
- 25:43Speaker 1: onto his whole outfit and face, and you guys know,
- 25:48Speaker 1: I had a real what the fuck moment when I
- 25:51Speaker 1: saw him in previous episodes. I was concerned. I didn't
- 25:57Speaker 1: know what to make of this guy. He is out
- 26:00Speaker 1: here with a weird pink baby bonnet and bib combo
- 26:04Speaker 1: and little undies and he's got like a crop top
- 26:08Speaker 1: that looks more like a bra on. It's really really weird,
- 26:12Speaker 1: and the top says something baby. The top word is
- 26:18Speaker 1: cut off and you can't see it. And to top
- 26:21Speaker 1: it off, he's got like aviator shades and a pacifier
- 26:27Speaker 1: in his mouth, and like all of this is extremely
- 26:32Speaker 1: off putting, which made me laugh so much. Later, when
- 26:36Speaker 1: Frankie is just like, what is up with this fucking pervert,
- 26:40Speaker 1: one of the guys says to Frankie, like, you're one
- 26:42Speaker 1: to talk, and I was like, no, he's correct to
- 26:45Speaker 1: ask this, like what the fuck? And this dude, it
- 26:51Speaker 1: turns out, has a power that allows him to swim
- 26:56Speaker 1: through solid stone. I'm assuming any solid object, but what
- 27:00Speaker 1: we see here is stone. So he swims up from
- 27:06Speaker 1: behind Frankie, and all of his men who are facing
- 27:10Speaker 1: Frankie can see him coming and are really like looking
- 27:13Speaker 1: forward to the moment when he reveals himself by bashing
- 27:18Speaker 1: Frankie over the back of the head suddenly and handling
- 27:22Speaker 1: this whole situation, and therefore are a little bit dumbfounded
- 27:27Speaker 1: and disappointed by the fact that he continues through Frankie's
- 27:34Speaker 1: legs and comes up out of the ground in front
- 27:37Speaker 1: of Frankie instead, and they're all just like, why would
- 27:42Speaker 1: you come where he can see you? He was done
- 27:47Speaker 1: for why would you ruin it like that? And this
- 27:54Speaker 1: guy says, there's only one thing that a man does
- 28:00Speaker 1: from behind somebody, And for a moment I was like,
- 28:02Speaker 1: we're going, oh gosh, but he says unzipping a lady's dress,
- 28:11Speaker 1: and then all the brons are over here, signor you're
- 28:15Speaker 1: just so hard boiled. And then he sucks on his
- 28:21Speaker 1: past fire again and says, and the only thing a
- 28:26Speaker 1: man should do from in front is steal a kiss
- 28:30Speaker 1: from a lady's lips. And the men, all of his
- 28:38Speaker 1: guards who are watching this also get this like very
- 28:43Speaker 1: admiring expression on their faces and say signor you're so manly,
- 28:52Speaker 1: And then Frankie chimes in with are you guys fucking serious?
- 28:58Speaker 1: Are you stupid? What do you mean manly? And later
- 29:02Speaker 1: on when this dude appears up out of the ground again,
- 29:05Speaker 1: Frankie like does the same like commentary of your power
- 29:12Speaker 1: is weird and it's kind of freaking me out. And
- 29:15Speaker 1: when I was talking earlier about the role that he plays, Frankie,
- 29:19Speaker 1: really I don't want to call him the straight man
- 29:21Speaker 1: because that is absolutely not the case, but he is
- 29:24Speaker 1: the guy who, it does feel like, is out here
- 29:27Speaker 1: calling out the weirdness in a way that most other
- 29:30Speaker 1: characters just kind of like it's not that nobody comments
- 29:34Speaker 1: on it, but they they comment on it in a
- 29:38Speaker 1: way that still feels like they are rolling with it,
- 29:42Speaker 1: and Frankie is often one of the only characters who
- 29:46Speaker 1: is genuinely like, are you serious? What is this? What
- 29:50Speaker 1: the fuck are we doing? Like it almost feels sometimes
- 29:54Speaker 1: if it weren't for the fact that he has the
- 29:57Speaker 1: wildest powers of anybody practically, it almost feels sometimes like
- 30:02Speaker 1: Frankie is from our universe and is watching this along
- 30:06Speaker 1: with us and is just as fucking baffled as we are.
- 30:10Speaker 1: So you guys, I'm gonna just go on record and
- 30:15Speaker 1: say that this whole scene and everything that happens with
- 30:20Speaker 1: him and Frankie is my favorite thing that has ever
- 30:23Speaker 1: happened on this show, second only to Soangy's weird faced
- 30:31Speaker 1: guy that he kicks into being pretty, which is pretty
- 30:36Speaker 1: much at this point like an unbeatable circumstance. So the
- 30:42Speaker 1: those two are just, I mean it like, and the
- 30:49Speaker 1: fact that his name is is Senor Pink also it
- 30:54Speaker 1: felt and I maybe way off here, but it felt
- 30:59Speaker 1: like a reference to Reservoir Dogs. There is a scene
- 31:05Speaker 1: in the beginning of Reservoir Dogs where each of the
- 31:08Speaker 1: men who is involved in this heist is given a
- 31:12Speaker 1: color code name, and Steve Buscemi plays a character who
- 31:16Speaker 1: is assigned the name of mister Pink, and he gets
- 31:20Speaker 1: very salty about having this name and is basically like,
- 31:24Speaker 1: it just sounds like mister pussy. Like it's fucked up.
- 31:27Speaker 1: It's like, is it gay? Is it feminine? Like I
- 31:30Speaker 1: don't know, but something's not right about it and I
- 31:32Speaker 1: don't like it and I want to change it. And
- 31:34Speaker 1: the guy who's in charge is like, literally, who the
- 31:37Speaker 1: fuck cares your mister Pink, shut the fuck up and
- 31:39Speaker 1: deal with it. And he is just like complains about
- 31:42Speaker 1: it for like a minute, And what it felt like
- 31:45Speaker 1: a little bit was we're gonna do the mister Pink,
- 31:50Speaker 1: and we're gonna make him even fucking goofy looking. We're
- 31:54Speaker 1: gonna lean into not him being like effeminate, not him
- 31:58Speaker 1: being gay or or womanly. We're gonna make him an
- 32:04Speaker 1: infant like crapy. We're gonna make him a joke, and
- 32:09Speaker 1: then he is going to be incredible and you are
- 32:12Speaker 1: just never going to be able to see anybody in
- 32:15Speaker 1: a baby outfit again, and you know, think anything other
- 32:19Speaker 1: than maybe they're secretly insanely badass. I am extremely into it,
- 32:26Speaker 1: and this guy you all don't even know how much
- 32:31Speaker 1: I was dreading whatever was gonna go on with this character.
- 32:35Speaker 1: As soon as he appeared, I immediately had a like,
- 32:38Speaker 1: oh no, oh, no, what are we doing? And I'm
- 32:43Speaker 1: so pleased to be wrong. I'm so glad to be wrong. Also,
- 32:50Speaker 1: like I think part of what I was thinking of,
- 32:53Speaker 1: if anybody is interested in looking up an additional thing,
- 32:57Speaker 1: is there is a an s an albit with a
- 33:01Speaker 1: guy who basically they play the whole scene as if
- 33:05Speaker 1: he is just like a regular businessman, but he behaves
- 33:09Speaker 1: as if he is a giant baby. And it's one
- 33:14Speaker 1: of those things that feels like it shouldn't really be
- 33:16Speaker 1: that funny, and like many SNL skits, it does go
- 33:20Speaker 1: on a little too long, but he imitates the movements
- 33:25Speaker 1: of babies in such a spectacular way while staying so
- 33:28Speaker 1: utterly deadpan, And honestly, I think that's kind of what
- 33:33Speaker 1: I was expecting, was for this guy to be baby
- 33:37Speaker 1: ish in some Obviously, if he's part of like do
- 33:41Speaker 1: Flamingo's plans, I think he's part of the Don Quixote
- 33:44Speaker 1: pirates through Diamante's group, is what they said. So clearly
- 33:53Speaker 1: because of this, I know that he's got to bring
- 33:55Speaker 1: something to the table, but I figured it was going
- 33:59Speaker 1: to be that he brings something to the table in
- 34:01Speaker 1: spite of the fact that he acts like a giant baby,
- 34:04Speaker 1: and I thought it was going to be this deeply
- 34:07Speaker 1: uncomfortable kind of you know, And it is uncomfortable, but
- 34:12Speaker 1: it's just absolutely not the way that I expected. He's
- 34:16Speaker 1: pretty much parodying like a James Bond kind of vibe,
- 34:22Speaker 1: but looking the way that he looks, it's it's fantastic.
- 34:26Speaker 1: It's the best thing. I love it. I low key
- 34:31Speaker 1: want to like cosplay as this dude. He's very fat
- 34:34Speaker 1: and round, which I also am, and I feel like
- 34:36Speaker 1: I could pull it off, but I just don't think
- 34:38Speaker 1: I could do it because it would just be too creepy.
- 34:41Speaker 1: It just takes it too far. I couldn't do it.
- 34:46Speaker 1: But anyway, I just I really had to talk about
- 34:49Speaker 1: that whole thing, and like what I mentioned, y'all was
- 34:54Speaker 1: like calling Owen back into the room, and right before
- 34:59Speaker 1: he had left the room, I was explaining to him
- 35:02Speaker 1: about dress Rosa and the fact that there's just fucking
- 35:05Speaker 1: toys that people are apparently like mating with somehow, and
- 35:10Speaker 1: I was very confused by it all and He's just like,
- 35:12Speaker 1: oh my god. So he leaves the room, goes to
- 35:15Speaker 1: the bathroom. When he comes out, I call him back
- 35:17Speaker 1: and he gives me this look and I was like what,
- 35:19Speaker 1: And he says, I just know that you're about to
- 35:21Speaker 1: tell me something totally insane because you're watching the show.
- 35:25Speaker 1: And I was like, no, no, no, I'm gonna make
- 35:26Speaker 1: you watch something totally insane. And then when I rewound
- 35:30Speaker 1: it and played it, I could see just he began
- 35:33Speaker 1: to laugh so hard, and at one point he had
- 35:36Speaker 1: to leave the room again, and he actually voluntarily came
- 35:39Speaker 1: back and watched a little more because he was that
- 35:41Speaker 1: engaged by it. And I was like, yeah, this show.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I love this show. I love him so much. It's
- 35:46Speaker 1: so insane. It's absolutely unhinged, unhinged. What is this guy?
- 35:53Speaker 1: I want to be this free. I want to be
- 35:58Speaker 1: this able to look go of everything that I preconceived
- 36:04Speaker 1: notions of storytelling and character. I want to be able
- 36:07Speaker 1: to just loosey goosey it like Oda can do. I
- 36:12Speaker 1: don't know how he does it, Like is it drugs?
- 36:15Speaker 1: Is it pure fatigue? Because he just works NonStop and
- 36:20Speaker 1: so his brain is broken. Is that what it is? Like?
- 36:25Speaker 1: I don't know how you reach a point where you
- 36:28Speaker 1: can like, I don't know, but I want I want
- 36:33Speaker 1: to be like this anyway. So the guys, like the
- 36:41Speaker 1: little people who are leading Oosop and Robin through the tunnel,
- 36:45Speaker 1: it turns out like it is so small that them
- 36:48Speaker 1: getting through is very very tight. They'd have to basically
- 36:52Speaker 1: like crawl on their bellies and it would be extremely
- 36:55Speaker 1: slow going. And so what the little people do is
- 36:59Speaker 1: carried because a reminder, they are extremely strong. So we
- 37:05Speaker 1: have the two of them being carried like they are.
- 37:09Speaker 1: It really reminds me of sort of laying on one
- 37:14Speaker 1: of those little rolling dollies that goes under a car
- 37:18Speaker 1: when you're doing like repairs, and they are getting a
- 37:22Speaker 1: briefing on what's happening, and us Up is being told
- 37:28Speaker 1: about like all the badasses that the the what do
- 37:34Speaker 1: you call it? Oh my god, the toy soldier is
- 37:36Speaker 1: going to be dealing with because he is separated from
- 37:39Speaker 1: the crew. And at first us Up is like, what
- 37:44Speaker 1: the fuck, he's our guy, why would he leave. He's
- 37:47Speaker 1: supposed to be in charge. And then when they tell him, like, well,
- 37:51Speaker 1: he's gonna go deal with so and so, and they're
- 37:53Speaker 1: extremely dangerous. Us Up starts to be like, oh, dope, actually,
- 37:58Speaker 1: so he's going to handle the toughest badasses and we
- 38:03Speaker 1: aren't actually going to have to do the hard part.
- 38:06Speaker 1: That's great. But then when they start talking about the
- 38:10Speaker 1: uh other people and they make them sound less threatening,
- 38:15Speaker 1: eventually it ends with like, oh no, those people are
- 38:19Speaker 1: like the most terrifying. They're extremely dangerous, and USUP is
- 38:25Speaker 1: very much like, oh, come on now. And what eventually
- 38:31Speaker 1: happens is that USUP takes heart by zeroing in on
- 38:38Speaker 1: the fact that they can just try and startle this
- 38:41Speaker 1: little girl and they don't actually necessarily have to fight anybody.
- 38:47Speaker 1: If they just manage to get close enough to her,
- 38:50Speaker 1: then the fighting isn't even going to be a factor
- 38:53Speaker 1: for them with their particular mission. And so what he
- 38:59Speaker 1: decides to do is just sort of like fake their
- 39:02Speaker 1: way into everything. He wants to trick the guards into
- 39:07Speaker 1: letting them through to the other to the space where
- 39:11Speaker 1: Sugar is by just pretending that they're like sort of
- 39:17Speaker 1: dudes who are like off the clock or who wandered in,
- 39:21Speaker 1: and it doesn't work initially, they're just like nobody is
- 39:25Speaker 1: allowed in here like that, what are you trying what
- 39:28Speaker 1: are you trying to pull? Basically, But eventually he manages
- 39:34Speaker 1: to be like no, no, no, yeah. Uh. We work
- 39:37Speaker 1: here though, and we've been told to do a thing,
- 39:41Speaker 1: and they start to show him how to do a job,
- 39:45Speaker 1: and he has to really lean into like will you
- 39:48Speaker 1: please demonstrate for me? I learn best by actually observing
- 39:54Speaker 1: because he's trying to distract them while the little people
- 39:58Speaker 1: actually go looking for or sugar, so he's leaving them
- 40:03Speaker 1: to do what's kind of the hardest part. But also
- 40:06Speaker 1: it's hard for me to really blame him because they
- 40:09Speaker 1: are so strong that I think probably despite the fact
- 40:15Speaker 1: that you could blame him for like kind of shirking
- 40:20Speaker 1: the difficult part of all of this, I feel like
- 40:23Speaker 1: he's really playing to their strengths. Actually, you know, like
- 40:30Speaker 1: it's just it's he is not a great fighter. He
- 40:35Speaker 1: is somebody who uses a lot of props, and it
- 40:40Speaker 1: really helps for him to have a lot of like
- 40:44Speaker 1: forewarning on things, and probably this is the best way
- 40:49Speaker 1: to handle it. You have these little people who can
- 40:52Speaker 1: sneak around because they are very small, and you let
- 40:57Speaker 1: them do the thing and you just serve as the decoy.
- 41:03Speaker 1: It's like fun because they have two decoys with him
- 41:06Speaker 1: and Frankie. It's just a bunch of distraction over and
- 41:09Speaker 1: over again. So as much as like you, I could
- 41:14Speaker 1: be tempted to just be like, ooh, stop, you ain't shit,
- 41:18Speaker 1: I can't really say that. I really just he is
- 41:22Speaker 1: doing this for the wrong reasons. But it's also I
- 41:28Speaker 1: think the smart way to play it, and like the
- 41:31Speaker 1: most effective and likely to succeed way to play it.
- 41:35Speaker 1: So I just can't really I can't really be mad
- 41:38Speaker 1: about this. So he uh And the way that he
- 41:45Speaker 1: like takes charge but doesn't is also something that needs
- 41:48Speaker 1: to be studied. This is a thing that I feel
- 41:52Speaker 1: like if you have ever worked any job where there
- 41:55Speaker 1: was somebody for middle management, you are extremely familiar with
- 42:01Speaker 1: a person who manages to say they are in charge,
- 42:06Speaker 1: effectively be in charge, take the credit for things, but
- 42:10Speaker 1: then not actually really do anything that matters. And I'm
- 42:17Speaker 1: not trying to say he doesn't do anything. I just
- 42:19Speaker 1: got through saying that what he does matters a lot.
- 42:21Speaker 1: But you know what I'm saying, like him playing distraction
- 42:26Speaker 1: while a bunch of other people actually do the hard thing,
- 42:30Speaker 1: I guess is sort of the role middal management plays.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Like you're out here coping with the customers and people
- 42:36Speaker 1: being assholes and demanding and throwing fits about stuff, while
- 42:41Speaker 1: your employees are actually doing the difficult parts. And I
- 42:47Speaker 1: suppose that's just how that works. So let's jump over
- 42:52Speaker 1: to the fight with Rebecca, because you guys, there is
- 42:56Speaker 1: the weirdest development here. So excited about how many new
- 43:02Speaker 1: things are popping up because you know, I know you
- 43:05Speaker 1: guys have talked about how long we stay here on
- 43:07Speaker 1: this island in this arc, and I was sort of
- 43:10Speaker 1: feeling like we have stalled out with this fucking tournament
- 43:14Speaker 1: that I don't give a shit about and blah blah blah.
- 43:16Speaker 1: But they're really managing to like keep things a little
- 43:20Speaker 1: bit fresh, and I hope this continues. We'll see, but
- 43:26Speaker 1: this so this fight, Rebecca goes up against a guy
- 43:34Speaker 1: who evidently is like an ex general who was extremely badass,
- 43:41Speaker 1: and he it's weird how he talks to her because
- 43:47Speaker 1: he's like saying that they are condemning me for the
- 43:51Speaker 1: things that I used to do that were for a
- 43:54Speaker 1: country that I love, And there's almost a sense of
- 43:58Speaker 1: like what I kept thinking about was like the punisher,
- 44:03Speaker 1: you know, somebody who they have turned to the dark,
- 44:06Speaker 1: but only because they were forced and because the country
- 44:11Speaker 1: they love that they were initially fighting for let them
- 44:14Speaker 1: down so utterly. And this I'm sorry, guys, I just
- 44:21Speaker 1: keep laughing because I have so many feelings about what
- 44:25Speaker 1: winds up happening. So he's about to go one on
- 44:28Speaker 1: one with her, and we have this like moment where
- 44:32Speaker 1: the other female fighter in the ring Aegilia, Agilia, I
- 44:37Speaker 1: think it's Agilia. She is watching and seeing that like
- 44:41Speaker 1: this dude is a little bit more than Rebecca can handle.
- 44:47Speaker 1: She tries to pull her a little like step to
- 44:50Speaker 1: the side, let you fall into the water bit and
- 44:53Speaker 1: he doesn't fall for it. He doesn't fall in which
- 44:56Speaker 1: that's like her only move. Honestly, you guys. The very
- 45:01Speaker 1: fact that it's pretty much her real main move is
- 45:04Speaker 1: so embarrassing, and I will go to the grave saying
- 45:07Speaker 1: that I hate it so much. But she Agilia looks
- 45:13Speaker 1: over sees that her girl is in trouble and is like,
- 45:17Speaker 1: oh God. And so eventually, when this guy comes in
- 45:21Speaker 1: with like a killing blow, she takes it herself. I
- 45:25Speaker 1: don't think she's dead, of course, but it is played
- 45:28Speaker 1: very much like a death scene, and she says to
- 45:32Speaker 1: Rebecca as she's dying, that you have to promise me
- 45:35Speaker 1: you're going to win this. And Rebecca is deeply moved
- 45:39Speaker 1: by this, as you would be. This woman died for
- 45:42Speaker 1: her to protect her. I just want to go on
- 45:45Speaker 1: record once again. I'm going on record about a lot
- 45:48Speaker 1: this episode. Agilia is the MVP, and I love her
- 45:53Speaker 1: and really want her to have her own spin off show.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Everything about the vibes between her and Rebecca. She is
- 46:01Speaker 1: so superior to Rebecca as a character in every way
- 46:04Speaker 1: that matters. It's deeply frustrating that Rebecca is our main
- 46:07Speaker 1: because I don't care about her, and Aguilia is delightful.
- 46:13Speaker 1: She's just great out here, just fucking teaming up with
- 46:17Speaker 1: this other woman, just because we've got two women and
- 46:21Speaker 1: we got to have each other's backs, and you know
- 46:23Speaker 1: the principle of it. And then putting her fucking money
- 46:26Speaker 1: where her mouth is and losing the tournament to save
- 46:30Speaker 1: her like that is serious shit. That is I mean,
- 46:34Speaker 1: I just I love it. I love it so much,
- 46:36Speaker 1: and it just made me genuinely deeply sad when she
- 46:42Speaker 1: died because there was so much potential here. There was
- 46:45Speaker 1: so much we could have done. And it made me
- 46:47Speaker 1: really really disappointed when it goes the way that it goes.
- 46:52Speaker 1: So Aguilia throws herself in front of this blow this guy,
- 46:59Speaker 1: you know, what's his name, Suliman? The beheader is the
- 47:06Speaker 1: name that he has given. He continues to go after
- 47:10Speaker 1: Rebecca and we pull out of the tournament for a
- 47:14Speaker 1: little while. And it's very strange when the way that
- 47:18Speaker 1: it cuts back, because I thought I had missed something,
- 47:22Speaker 1: and it turns out I did miss something, but that
- 47:25Speaker 1: was the intent. We all miss something, that's the point.
- 47:28Speaker 1: So I like rewound it, like wait, what like thinking
- 47:32Speaker 1: that I did I look away and not remember that
- 47:35Speaker 1: I looked away. No, it's played in this like a
- 47:40Speaker 1: split second passes and all of a sudden, the fight
- 47:45Speaker 1: is over and the only one that's left standing is Rebecca,
- 47:48Speaker 1: and everybody in the audience is just as puzzled as
- 47:51Speaker 1: I was, and it's just like, what the fuck? And
- 47:55Speaker 1: because nobody actually saw what happened, there was evidently like
- 47:59Speaker 1: a cloud of dust that made it impossible for anybody
- 48:04Speaker 1: to see. A lot of folks because they don't like Rebecca,
- 48:09Speaker 1: are just yelling at the fact that she probably cheated.
- 48:12Speaker 1: There's no way that she beat Cavendish. Some other guy
- 48:15Speaker 1: is talking about the beheader and that like, there's no
- 48:20Speaker 1: way she beat him either, and even the announcer is
- 48:23Speaker 1: just like what the fuck. Eventually the women that are
- 48:27Speaker 1: his sort of sidekicks there are like, well, should we
- 48:31Speaker 1: stop the fight and investigate, because like everybody's upset and
- 48:36Speaker 1: probably she shouldn't have won. And it was very interesting
- 48:39Speaker 1: the way he reacted to this. I thought he was
- 48:42Speaker 1: gonna kind of be agro about it and be like, yeah,
- 48:45Speaker 1: this is bullshit. Instead he says, essentially, there's no way
- 48:51Speaker 1: she could have cheated because we purposely make it harder
- 48:55Speaker 1: for her. So if she's the only one left standing
- 48:59Speaker 1: with the shitty equipment that we give her, then she's
- 49:03Speaker 1: standing because she won. Something went right for her and
- 49:07Speaker 1: it sucks, and I'm not happy about it either, But
- 49:10Speaker 1: there's really not a lot to be done like this is,
- 49:13Speaker 1: you know, and there was something like that just was
- 49:17Speaker 1: surprising to me. I never really thought that we were
- 49:20Speaker 1: going to just get him copping to no. Yeah, that's
- 49:23Speaker 1: probably just how it really went down. Despite not seeing
- 49:27Speaker 1: any of it at all. And we have these dudes
- 49:33Speaker 1: who are outside watching like they're outside of the uh,
- 49:37Speaker 1: the Colisseum. And I just want to mention that there
- 49:42Speaker 1: keeps being a drawing of this clock tower in the
- 49:46Speaker 1: background of this flashback that makes it look like London.
- 49:49Speaker 1: It looks like Big Ben. And I was like, the
- 49:54Speaker 1: way that this was played with the kinds of clothing
- 49:56Speaker 1: that people are wearing and the bog and the clock tower,
- 50:04Speaker 1: I was like, are we trying to do with Jack
- 50:07Speaker 1: the Ripper? Is that what he's sort of attempting to
- 50:12Speaker 1: play on here? It felt like that was It was
- 50:15Speaker 1: just such a weird you know. So anyway, Bastille is
- 50:20Speaker 1: telling the story to everybody because he says something about
- 50:23Speaker 1: these razor winds something like that, and everybody's like, what
- 50:27Speaker 1: are you talking about and he says, oh, you didn't
- 50:31Speaker 1: hear about it. Well, people kept being sliced up and
- 50:36Speaker 1: nobody knew what was going on. So eventually, like some
- 50:39Speaker 1: marines went out and tried to investigate it, but they
- 50:42Speaker 1: died too, and so the folks who followed up eventually
- 50:47Speaker 1: they did learn the cause. And you see this figure
- 50:52Speaker 1: standing on top of the clock tower with this manic
- 50:56Speaker 1: grin on his face and he says an the man
- 51:00Speaker 1: who referred to himself as Hakuba, and it turns out
- 51:06Speaker 1: Hakuba is this alter ego of Cavendish. I am very excited.
- 51:16Speaker 1: You guys know that Cavendish. I was just kind of
- 51:18Speaker 1: bummed out. It felt like we had a lot that
- 51:20Speaker 1: we could do here, and then I was sort of like,
- 51:23Speaker 1: what is this? This is it? So we are adding
- 51:26Speaker 1: in an evil alter ego that only pops up when
- 51:30Speaker 1: Cavendish is asleep into it. However, I have to tell
- 51:36Speaker 1: you guys something. I was really saddened because I thought
- 51:42Speaker 1: for a moment that we were going to find out
- 51:46Speaker 1: Rebecca actually had an incredible attack up her sleeve that
- 51:49Speaker 1: she never uses because she doesn't have to, and that
- 51:54Speaker 1: finally she was up against the beheader and was like,
- 51:56Speaker 1: oh god, he didn't fall for my thing. He didn'tumbling
- 52:00Speaker 1: to the water like everybody else. Now I really have
- 52:03Speaker 1: to do something, and that we were going to find
- 52:05Speaker 1: out she was able to actually attack in a way
- 52:09Speaker 1: that was satisfying and made her kind of a badass.
- 52:12Speaker 1: I was so excited. I figure that the cloud of
- 52:17Speaker 1: dust and everything, she takes advantage of it because she's
- 52:19Speaker 1: ashamed and she doesn't want people to see it because
- 52:21Speaker 1: she doesn't like hurting people. And then to find out
- 52:24Speaker 1: that it wasn't even her and that it was Cavendish.
- 52:28Speaker 1: I was devastated for a moment. Once we find out
- 52:31Speaker 1: to deal with Cavendish. It was very It was a
- 52:33Speaker 1: good consolation prize. This is still very interesting and I'm
- 52:39Speaker 1: into it, but I got my hopes up so high
- 52:43Speaker 1: hoping that it was actually Rebecca that it's just a shame.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I wish that I had never even considered that, because
- 52:51Speaker 1: then this would have hit even harder. However, as it is,
- 52:55Speaker 1: it's still pretty fun. And I got to say that
- 52:58Speaker 1: the way that Cavendish is anime when he turns into
- 53:01Speaker 1: Hakuba is so eerie. He just gets this like these
- 53:06Speaker 1: deadened eyes and his mouth is like this hollow. It's
- 53:12Speaker 1: almost like he has no teeth all of a sudden.
- 53:15Speaker 1: It is so strange. So yeah, I am really really interested.
- 53:23Speaker 1: And apparently like Cavendish does not like this. I was
- 53:27Speaker 1: sort of wondering, is he going to turn out to
- 53:30Speaker 1: be somebody who is like, this is something that's out
- 53:35Speaker 1: of his control, and so he just tries to make
- 53:37Speaker 1: the best of it in terms of the fame that
- 53:40Speaker 1: it accords him, because he becomes so notorious. But it
- 53:43Speaker 1: seems not. It seems like this is a straight up like, no,
- 53:47Speaker 1: I do not like this. I don't want this to
- 53:49Speaker 1: be how things happen. And so I kind of like
- 53:54Speaker 1: that just because Cavendish, we need him to to have
- 54:01Speaker 1: a problem, a foil of some kind that isn't just
- 54:06Speaker 1: being jealous of f Loofy. That was very boring. So
- 54:09Speaker 1: for him to have his own thing that's coming from
- 54:12Speaker 1: inside him that he is constantly fighting against and that
- 54:16Speaker 1: is like technically a better fighter than him. Also, it
- 54:19Speaker 1: seems like saying better fighter is probably not fair because
- 54:22Speaker 1: this guy isn't even fighting. He's attacking people who are
- 54:25Speaker 1: not trying to fight. He is just going after innocent people.
- 54:28Speaker 1: So probably I shouldn't even frame it that way. But
- 54:32Speaker 1: I'm just saying I do really like that, like addition
- 54:39Speaker 1: of a layer to his personality. That's true. So Saraphim
- 54:43Speaker 1: is in the chat saying, a mashup of Jack the
- 54:46Speaker 1: Ripper and Jacqueline Hyde. I didn't even think of Jacquelin Hyde,
- 54:49Speaker 1: but de DOOI I should have. And then Saraphim says,
- 54:52Speaker 1: Rebecca is at least the only person in the arena
- 54:54Speaker 1: who manages to dodge any of Hakuba's attacks. That's true.
- 54:59Speaker 1: That's true. It's something I'll cling to that I appreciate
- 55:04Speaker 1: you framing it that way, Sarah him. And it's also
- 55:07Speaker 1: very funny to me that, like, technically the like Hakuba
- 55:11Speaker 1: is the one that should have won this because he's
- 55:15Speaker 1: like took everybody else out except Rebecca. She dodged, so
- 55:20Speaker 1: she winds up being the de facto winner. But if
- 55:25Speaker 1: Cavendish hadn't passed out, he would be, like it would
- 55:30Speaker 1: be down to her and him, and he'd be still
- 55:32Speaker 1: in it. So it's kind of funny to me that
- 55:35Speaker 1: like he won it for her inadvertently, And I'm extremely
- 55:41Speaker 1: curious like whether or not she is going to feel
- 55:45Speaker 1: any sort of gratitude for him, Like I don't think
- 55:49Speaker 1: she should necessarily, but you know, sometimes people react in
- 55:52Speaker 1: a way that I'm like, I don't get it, but okay,
- 55:55Speaker 1: if that's how you feel, you know, And honestly, Rebecca
- 56:00Speaker 1: is a little bit irrational to me, so if she
- 56:03Speaker 1: were to react in a way that I don't understand,
- 56:04Speaker 1: it would not surprise me anyway. I have really got
- 56:08Speaker 1: to wrap up, so I'm just going to uh to
- 56:12Speaker 1: mention at the end of the third episode, after this
- 56:17Speaker 1: whole thing gets straightened out with like who Hakuba is,
- 56:22Speaker 1: we have this very fun bit again with miss uh
- 56:27Speaker 1: mister Pink senor Pink who the girls that are like
- 56:31Speaker 1: the girl is hanging around him, the dames, the broads,
- 56:35Speaker 1: They are making fun of Frankie and like, I don't
- 56:38Speaker 1: get it, like you're a robot guy, ew whatever, And
- 56:42Speaker 1: he basically is like, excuse me, how can you even
- 56:47Speaker 1: say that to him? Look at how I'm dressed, and
- 56:50Speaker 1: do you think I dressed this way? Because it's like awesome. No,
- 56:55Speaker 1: it's my personal style, it's who I am. And you
- 56:58Speaker 1: guys should know better than to judge somebody based on
- 57:01Speaker 1: the way that they look or how they dress. So
- 57:03Speaker 1: you fucked up. Stop it. And I think that the
- 57:08Speaker 1: cyborg thing is dope actually, and I you guys, I
- 57:13Speaker 1: just love him so much. I love him so much.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Why does he have to look like this? It's so weird.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I hate standing a character that looks like this. So yeah,
- 57:26Speaker 1: it was fantastic. And the girls are just allso apologetic
- 57:30Speaker 1: and just like, I can't believe that we like let
- 57:33Speaker 1: you down. I'm so sorry, Please forgive us. We've seen
- 57:36Speaker 1: the error of our ways, and then we have our
- 57:40Speaker 1: last bit with uh with Do Flamingo crowing over Trafalgar
- 57:45Speaker 1: Law and having him like completely under his control and
- 57:50Speaker 1: just basically like really feeling himself and how everything is
- 57:55Speaker 1: like it looks like for now going to plan and Uh,
- 58:01Speaker 1: everybody is sort of getting into position. We still we
- 58:05Speaker 1: have our trio dressed like toys. Zoro after he like
- 58:10Speaker 1: breaks off and goes off by himself and gets lost
- 58:12Speaker 1: for a little while, he winds up like getting into
- 58:15Speaker 1: it with a little kid because they're trying to fuck
- 58:17Speaker 1: with his swords. They think he's a toy, and even
- 58:21Speaker 1: though Wiccka is like, don't do anything rash, they need
- 58:25Speaker 1: you to be a toy, he can't help himself, and
- 58:28Speaker 1: it's basically like off and then the kid starts crying
- 58:32Speaker 1: and it basically gets this like angry mob after him.
- 58:35Speaker 1: So it's it's honestly very funny. I really liked it.
- 58:39Speaker 1: And he winds up rejoining with our guys, but I
- 58:41Speaker 1: have to assume that like this is gonna come back
- 58:43Speaker 1: and bite him somehow. And yeah, the three of them
- 58:49Speaker 1: once they actually like reach the main is this the
- 58:53Speaker 1: palace that they're headed to? I guess they meet up
- 58:57Speaker 1: with Violet, who is like, I am to help you
- 59:00Speaker 1: guys out, and that is how the episode ends. So yeah,
- 59:05Speaker 1: really really fun three episodes. I loved them so much.
- 59:08Speaker 1: This is great, and I'm super excited about where we're
- 59:12Speaker 1: going because this is very weird. All right, guys, I'm
- 59:16Speaker 1: reving this up. Thank you all again so much. Thank
- 59:18Speaker 1: you SARAHM for helping me out in the chat. Thank
- 59:20Speaker 1: you Florian for commissioning this one, and I will be
- 59:23Speaker 1: seeing you again soon with a new episode. Until then,
- 59:26Speaker 1: TOUTLU motherfuckers. That was an Unspoiled Network podcast two
