Latest / FPL Pod / S4 Ep3: Off The Bench: What to do with Ollie Watkins?
Transcript
- 0:17Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:19Speaker 1: the Premier League.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I'm Jenny.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Hi Jenny, this is Press.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Good to see you pros. It's been a while.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Well, look, Game week three is over as we head
- 0:26Speaker 1: into the international break and we head into the closing
- 0:28Speaker 1: off the transfer market. Of course that's crucial threshpl and
- 0:31Speaker 1: this is a great time I think to reassess our
- 0:33Speaker 1: teams and our decision making, our chip strategy moving forward.
- 0:36Speaker 1: And in today's episode as we've got to talk about
- 0:39Speaker 1: all of the major players we're at to date, the
- 0:41Speaker 1: three blanks in a row, Frey Watkins, should we have
- 0:43Speaker 1: Harland over Sala? It's four four two back on the
- 0:46Speaker 1: menu and more defender points up for grabs. But first
- 0:48Speaker 1: and foremost, mate, how is your your game week? And
- 0:50Speaker 1: how's your start the season been?
- 0:52Speaker 3: I mean the game because fine, and the start of
- 0:54Speaker 3: the season has been fine. Like I what do you
- 0:57Speaker 3: judge a start of the season by? Because points are
- 1:00Speaker 3: bunched up? You know, somebody could be ahead of you
- 1:02Speaker 3: by ten points, but have you know four million rank
- 1:06Speaker 3: better than you? So I think start of the season
- 1:09Speaker 3: has to be just right. Are you happy with your team?
- 1:11Speaker 3: And you know we'll talk about it as we go
- 1:13Speaker 3: along this podcast. I'm not unhappy with it. I'm not
- 1:16Speaker 3: delighted with it. So that's where I am. I got
- 1:19Speaker 3: fifty two points this week. But you know what, like
- 1:22Speaker 3: the team is fine. I've got Liverpool players, I've got
- 1:25Speaker 3: some Crystal Palace players. I've got Bruno who scored for
- 1:28Speaker 3: me as captain. So the team looks okay. But the
- 1:31Speaker 3: start of the season has been such that no one's
- 1:33Speaker 3: really sure and who actually is a good pick?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you define that so well. I think I'm in
- 1:38Speaker 1: a similar boat. I'm not reading too much into the numbers.
- 1:40Speaker 1: It's more am I happy with my squad? Am I
- 1:42Speaker 1: happy with my transfers in the bank, my money in
- 1:45Speaker 1: the bank, my plans moving forward, and I think it's
- 1:47Speaker 1: a lot of yeses. So yeah, it's so lovely having
- 1:50Speaker 1: fpl back. It does feel like when you look at
- 1:52Speaker 1: a lot of the engage managers, it's been a fairly
- 1:53Speaker 1: slow start in terms of rank.
- 1:55Speaker 2: But as you say, it's so bunched up. I had
- 1:56Speaker 2: two good weeks.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I'm coming off the back of a bad week, captain Kunya,
- 2:01Speaker 1: so that was a that was a bad one. I
- 2:03Speaker 1: was I was kind of torn on two things this week.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Do I bring in a Man United attacker? And if
- 2:08Speaker 1: I do, which one do I bring in? If I don't,
- 2:11Speaker 1: a captain jol Pedro. If I do, I bring in
- 2:13Speaker 1: Bruno and captain him or Kunya and captain him. So
- 2:15Speaker 1: both those fifty to fifty calls were really bad. But
- 2:17Speaker 1: other than that, I'm happy I Daniel mcno's to save
- 2:20Speaker 1: my game week on the final game on Sunday evening,
- 2:23Speaker 1: so I was happy with that. But yeah, I mean
- 2:25Speaker 1: some great games over the weekend. I'm looking forward to
- 2:28Speaker 1: getting into them. I think there's some wider topics we
- 2:30Speaker 1: need to touch on in today's show, and we touch
- 2:32Speaker 1: on chip strategy and four four two and defensive contribution points.
- 2:35Speaker 1: But first and foremost, should we go game by game?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Where should we start?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah, let's start with Chelsea the lunchtime kickoff, right, and
- 2:41Speaker 3: I don't own Jel Pedro, And every game I watch
- 2:44Speaker 3: him thinking, well, I don't know ow Jel Pedrol.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah, he's become like a key cog in the keycog
- 2:51Speaker 1: in Chelsea's team. And I don't think we necessarily knew
- 2:54Speaker 1: that pre season. It was like, okay, this is Palmer's
- 2:57Speaker 1: team and we'll see who fits around him. But he
- 2:59Speaker 1: really has hit the ground running and he's never been
- 3:01Speaker 1: overly prolific, but boy are we seeing that now. It's
- 3:05Speaker 1: continued from the Club World Cup preseason he scored and
- 3:07Speaker 1: then obviously early on in the season as well, like
- 3:10Speaker 1: his record's been outstanding and playing in the number ten
- 3:12Speaker 1: role might even be better for him. The nas Chelsea's
- 3:16Speaker 1: number nine. But regardless where he is on the pitch,
- 3:18Speaker 1: he's become a keykog at ninety minute man, he's scoring
- 3:21Speaker 1: goals from corners a lot of the time. He didn't
- 3:23Speaker 1: take the penalty though, which was interesting. We all thought
- 3:25Speaker 1: with no Palmer, Jacques Pedro will take the pen and
- 3:28Speaker 1: it was Enzo. But even without that, like mid price point,
- 3:33Speaker 1: he feels like a no brainer, doesn't he.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I mean, he's a very good striker. I tend to
- 3:39Speaker 3: like strikers will take penalties. It's just the thing I've
- 3:41Speaker 3: done for you know, when I've played a field for
- 3:43Speaker 3: fifteen years. But at seven and a half of what
- 3:45Speaker 3: he's in now seven point seven, he is great value.
- 3:48Speaker 3: And you're right that when he plays the ten, which
- 3:50Speaker 3: is what he used to do at Brighton. He's just
- 3:53Speaker 3: really good at finding spaces and you know, you know,
- 3:56Speaker 3: looking pivotal around at the attack. He's the guy who
- 3:59Speaker 3: makes things happened. So I love him as a player.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I've loved onwing him as a Brighton player. Look, he's
- 4:05Speaker 3: doing very well at Chelsea. I you know, whether whether
- 4:08Speaker 3: I get him in or art it depends on many
- 4:10Speaker 3: other things. What I do with what kins, what you
- 4:12Speaker 3: do with your care is I went for Matteta. I
- 4:14Speaker 3: had a choice last week and I chose Matteta because
- 4:17Speaker 3: of the penalty. Now Mateta didn't match out Pedro, but
- 4:20Speaker 3: it showed just in one game week where Matteta had
- 4:23Speaker 3: you know, arguably the tougher fixture of her to Villa.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Of course how Villa doing is a different question will
- 4:28Speaker 3: come to them, but it just shows that, you know,
- 4:30Speaker 3: I got the penalty and now he is home to Sunderland.
- 4:33Speaker 3: So having set piece take a penalty takers sometimes also
- 4:36Speaker 3: works out.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it absolutely does.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And same surer price point Matteta Chris wood On pen's
- 4:40Speaker 1: as well as same price point. The Mateta pen was
- 4:42Speaker 1: interesting this week. We saw it with Bruno as well.
- 4:44Speaker 1: How the bonus points system has changed this season. The
- 4:48Speaker 1: penalty in the BPS doesn't reward you a penalty go
- 4:51Speaker 1: in the same way as a normal goal, so we
- 4:53Speaker 1: didn't see Matteta get bonus points. Ordinarily he'd have been
- 4:56Speaker 1: amongst it. Same with Bruno. He didn't get the three.
- 4:59Speaker 1: He would have had the three bonus points if his
- 5:01Speaker 1: penalty goal had the same weight as a normal goal.
- 5:04Speaker 1: But obviously I think it's plus ten in the BPS,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and a midfielder gets plus eighteen for an open play goal.
- 5:09Speaker 1: A forward I think it's plus twenty two or twenty four.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So yeah, nice little tweak there to the bonus points system.
- 5:13Speaker 1: We also saw goal clearance off the line from jau Pedro,
- 5:17Speaker 1: another change to the BPS. There's only four or five changes.
- 5:20Speaker 1: They were two of them and jau Pedro then got
- 5:23Speaker 1: three bonus. He would have only got two bonus without
- 5:26Speaker 1: that clearance off the line at the end, Shalliber would
- 5:28Speaker 1: have got all three. And actually Chelsea defense is worth
- 5:30Speaker 1: talking about because it's two clean sheets from three. Only
- 5:33Speaker 1: a Lewis Paquetta Worldie has stopped them keeping three clean
- 5:37Speaker 1: sheets on the bounce. Chelsea defense, whether you're on a
- 5:39Speaker 1: cou Corella or a Shallaba or even a sanchezin goal
- 5:43Speaker 1: feels again like a really safe pick covering that back line.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it does. I'm not going to get into the
- 5:49Speaker 3: Josh King Ruleedard goal, but yeah, I mean I think
- 5:53Speaker 3: they short at the back end of last season that
- 5:55Speaker 3: it's a good defense. Maresca lakes the solidity at the back,
- 5:59Speaker 3: and you know it's carried through this season. So more surprises.
- 6:03Speaker 3: You know. I'm just looking at Chelsea now and again
- 6:06Speaker 3: you know, we'd have to think about when do you
- 6:08Speaker 3: player chips? You know, for example, if I look at
- 6:10Speaker 3: three hit six, then do I need to jump on
- 6:12Speaker 3: Chelsea when two out of the next three of Liverpool
- 6:14Speaker 3: and Man United. So it's these things that people need
- 6:17Speaker 3: to think about. But other than that, I think for
- 6:19Speaker 3: a long term Sanchez you know, was the number one
- 6:22Speaker 3: pick between him and Sells as the goalkeeper and for
- 6:24Speaker 3: that reason, like you mentioned.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and look, I mean Coubo Cup, they're amazing at
- 6:28Speaker 1: the back. Three nil in the final against PSG. Clean
- 6:31Speaker 1: sheet mate. Watching Chelsea colas as I do as a fan,
- 6:35Speaker 1: notice like Neil n Neil, the fairly tight games like Fulham
- 6:38Speaker 1: could have taken the lead. Chelsea struggled against Palace on
- 6:41Speaker 1: the opening day that stayed at Nil Neil, and it's
- 6:43Speaker 1: very much a defense first approach from Maresca at the
- 6:46Speaker 1: moment until they score a goal, Chelsea go one nil
- 6:49Speaker 1: up and then they actually start attacking much better with
- 6:51Speaker 1: a bit more freedom, and you see one nil often
- 6:53Speaker 1: then becomes two or three. We saw it in the
- 6:55Speaker 1: last couple of weeks. We didn't see it against Crystal
- 6:58Speaker 1: Palace because it stayed at Neil Nil Ages, but at
- 7:01Speaker 1: Neil Neil it's tight and it does feel like a
- 7:02Speaker 1: defense first approach first and foremost biber Maresca, and then
- 7:06Speaker 1: late in games if they're leading, that's when we see
- 7:08Speaker 1: the goals flow. So I'm definitely a big fan of
- 7:10Speaker 1: that Chelsea back line, and yeah, very happy to be
- 7:12Speaker 1: on Sanchez for those six pointers. I think he'll get
- 7:15Speaker 1: loads of them. I guess for Fulham there's very little
- 7:19Speaker 1: leftpl interest and I feel like they're often a team
- 7:21Speaker 1: that's overlooked because they're always mid table. The fixtures are
- 7:23Speaker 1: actually quite good now for Fulham. I think they've got
- 7:25Speaker 1: three from four coming up that are at home, a
- 7:28Speaker 1: player newly promoted team or two, but there's very few
- 7:31Speaker 1: players there I'd look at and go yeah, I want
- 7:33Speaker 1: them in my team. It's a shame with Manis and
- 7:35Speaker 1: him Andez that you know there's always going to be
- 7:36Speaker 1: a minute share between them as the number nine. Like
- 7:39Speaker 1: even when Minia is getting the starts, he's really going
- 7:42Speaker 1: to get ninety exactly.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I mean, I would say in terms of Fulham attack,
- 7:46Speaker 3: not really, but I have a little budget gem from
- 7:49Speaker 3: Fulham and Anderson who has been delivering defensive contribution points
- 7:54Speaker 3: for me in a couple of weeks. So I just
- 7:57Speaker 3: think that with him, I think of him like a
- 7:59Speaker 3: mini Tarikowski, where you know, in fifty percent or more
- 8:03Speaker 3: games he will get defensive contribution points. And Fulham is
- 8:06Speaker 3: a decent defense. So at four and a half million,
- 8:08Speaker 3: I think he's one of the better picks between him, Cinesi, Richards.
- 8:12Speaker 3: There's some nice four point five million defenders that are
- 8:15Speaker 3: coming up that could be nailed. Center Backs get defensive
- 8:18Speaker 3: contribution points in every other game, don't really have the
- 8:21Speaker 3: same attacking output. But I think that's the only pick
- 8:23Speaker 3: I would say from Fulham that if you were looking
- 8:26Speaker 3: at then Anderson is one.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great fine praz I noticed he was
- 8:29Speaker 1: in your team, and I think you're right he's going
- 8:31Speaker 1: to if he hits deaf cone in fifty percent. He
- 8:33Speaker 1: actually could have scored against Chelsea as well, left foot
- 8:35Speaker 1: kind of twelve fifteen yards out. It was he went
- 8:38Speaker 1: for the top corner, but he had loads of time
- 8:40Speaker 1: and space and you think if that falls to any
- 8:42Speaker 1: other Fulham player on the pitch, they'd probably go one,
- 8:44Speaker 1: they'll up, But yeah, it was it was Anderson's left
- 8:46Speaker 1: foot mate with the deaf cone there on Anderson, have
- 8:49Speaker 1: you looked at fixtures and gone he's more likely to
- 8:52Speaker 1: get them in the tougher games. Therefore he's someone I
- 8:54Speaker 1: just want to set and forget in my eleven or
- 8:56Speaker 1: do you obviously you're going to play and when the
- 8:58Speaker 1: fixtures are better, but when the fixtures are tough, it
- 9:00Speaker 1: feels like he's going to get death con So his
- 9:02Speaker 1: floor is almost three four points and worth playing.
- 9:05Speaker 2: If you looked at that.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah I have, But look I think you know we
- 9:08Speaker 3: had this discussion pre game week one where you still
- 9:12Speaker 3: want the clean sheet points, so you definitely still want
- 9:14Speaker 3: to play them for their easier fixtures and hope they
- 9:17Speaker 3: still hit the threshold in some of the medium fixtures
- 9:21Speaker 3: and it's not like they can't. You know, like Bruno
- 9:23Speaker 3: Fernandez hit defensive contributions in the Burnley home game, so
- 9:27Speaker 3: it's not like they can't, it says. I just think
- 9:30Speaker 3: of it as one point per game week. You have
- 9:33Speaker 3: some surety because every other game week they will hit that.
- 9:37Speaker 3: So that's the way I look at it. I try
- 9:39Speaker 3: not to predict it too much and just think, you know,
- 9:42Speaker 3: he's good for these points. There's a little flow there.
- 9:45Speaker 3: He's probably going to get about fifteen to twenty of
- 9:47Speaker 3: them over the season, and you can't really predict it
- 9:50Speaker 3: as well. Of course, if he's playing a Chelsea or
- 9:53Speaker 3: a man City or at Arsenal, he's more likely to
- 9:55Speaker 3: get them. That's what we've seen so far. But it's
- 9:57Speaker 3: not like he can't in the other game, so I
- 9:59Speaker 3: would of course, I'm planning to play him home to
- 10:01Speaker 3: Leeds this week and then we take it from there.
- 10:03Speaker 3: If he doesn't get contribution point defensive contribution points, he'll
- 10:06Speaker 3: get a clean sheet point. So just a generally good pick.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I think have you looked at four four two because
- 10:11Speaker 1: I set up my team this season. I went into
- 10:14Speaker 1: game week one with a four four to two option
- 10:18Speaker 1: and four defenders that are priced five or five point five,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and I'm really happy with it. And I do think
- 10:23Speaker 1: now we've start the season and we've seen so many
- 10:25Speaker 1: defenders picking up lots of extra points, I would argue,
- 10:30Speaker 1: like Anderson at four and a half million is going
- 10:32Speaker 1: to be way better value than a four and a
- 10:33Speaker 1: half million midfielder or forward by some distance. And even
- 10:37Speaker 1: someone like Daniel MNOs at five point five, is he
- 10:39Speaker 1: going to outperform the five point five attackers. Probably, So
- 10:42Speaker 1: I think four four two might be something we will
- 10:44Speaker 1: move to when people wild card, and I hope I'm
- 10:46Speaker 1: ahead of the curve on that, but especially if you
- 10:48Speaker 1: want to get to a point where you're having a
- 10:50Speaker 1: saler Anna Harlan team, like you're going to need more
- 10:53Speaker 1: five million players in your eleven and I feel like
- 10:56Speaker 1: the best value in those five million brackets comes in
- 11:00Speaker 1: the defenders, and therefore four for two I think makes sense.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Do you think that's something people will move towards? Is
- 11:04Speaker 1: a bit of a meta I think so.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Right now we're in a little bit of a strange
- 11:08Speaker 3: situation in FPL where because Palmer got injured, his money
- 11:12Speaker 3: has spread around into our squads. So you say four
- 11:15Speaker 3: four two, I could put on four five three. I
- 11:18Speaker 3: mean that's not a valid formation, but I mean is
- 11:20Speaker 3: I've got three playing strikers five playing midfielders. So it's
- 11:24Speaker 3: about finding nice rotations and within that. For example, this
- 11:28Speaker 3: particular week that is coming up after the international break,
- 11:30Speaker 3: I hope to put out four defenders because I'll have
- 11:33Speaker 3: double crystal Palace defense home to Sunderland, I'll have Anderson,
- 11:37Speaker 3: who I said, home to Leeds, and then of course
- 11:39Speaker 3: i have bredro Poro, who I'm not going to bench.
- 11:41Speaker 3: So this week is a natural for at the back
- 11:42Speaker 3: week for me, and I can bench somebody like in
- 11:44Speaker 3: Anderson from Nottingham Forest or somebody or like Morillo if
- 11:47Speaker 3: you have so people can do that. But you can
- 11:50Speaker 3: also think about rotations with your third striker, fourth or
- 11:53Speaker 3: fifth midfielder. But you're right in the sense that defenders
- 11:56Speaker 3: just need to be thought about a lot more now
- 11:59Speaker 3: in terms of how much you spend on them. The
- 12:00Speaker 3: fourth and even potentially the fifth defender needs a little
- 12:03Speaker 3: bit of love. Where we've typically in the past ignored
- 12:06Speaker 3: the fifth defender and just said, you know what, they're
- 12:08Speaker 3: like a puma bench. I'll only get them in if needed.
- 12:11Speaker 3: But actually, if you spent point five more on your
- 12:14Speaker 3: fifth defender, you suddenly could have a very nice rotation
- 12:17Speaker 3: and you know, a good root to points.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I love that.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It's so interesting that with the tweaks to the game.
- 12:23Speaker 1: We spoke about the bonus point tweaks, but the deaf
- 12:25Speaker 1: con tweaks. I just think it makes for a really
- 12:26Speaker 1: interesting refresh, Like Pras and I have been playing FPL
- 12:29Speaker 1: for fifteen years, like this is such a welcome addition,
- 12:32Speaker 1: a change to the game, I think, which like encourages
- 12:35Speaker 1: all to really look into the intricacies of FPL. So
- 12:40Speaker 1: buzz in to be playing FPL this season. I hope
- 12:42Speaker 1: you guys listening at home are as well. Spurs Bournemouth,
- 12:45Speaker 1: let's get onto it, let's stay in London. This was
- 12:47Speaker 1: a result I don't think that many saw coming, but
- 12:50Speaker 1: maybe we should have because Bournemouth went to anfield on
- 12:52Speaker 1: the opening day cause problems, comfortable win game meet two
- 12:55Speaker 1: for them and then game week three so impressive yet
- 12:58Speaker 1: again like dominant on Spurs from start to finish. Spurs
- 13:02Speaker 1: barely had a chance and Bournemouth, like Evanilsen Semeno Brooks,
- 13:07Speaker 1: had a great game like they're so refreshing to watch,
- 13:10Speaker 1: aren't they?
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah? And this is after them selling Otara, Clivetz still
- 13:14Speaker 3: not come back into the first eleven because he's coming
- 13:16Speaker 3: back on the back of an injury. So I just
- 13:19Speaker 3: think could we have predicted it, Yes, because Bournemouth have
- 13:23Speaker 3: done this to good teams even last season, But could
- 13:26Speaker 3: we have predicted also that there's a little bit of
- 13:28Speaker 3: a downfall because they've sold house and they've sold you know,
- 13:32Speaker 3: kirkiz Zabarney, you know, Clive's been injured, so you could
- 13:37Speaker 3: have also seen the opposite coming where they could have
- 13:39Speaker 3: started slower. So it's just one of those things where
- 13:42Speaker 3: if you have a Bonnemouth pick and a lot of
- 13:43Speaker 3: people who had for se menu it's great because they're
- 13:46Speaker 3: a good team. They've got good medium term fixtures now,
- 13:49Speaker 3: But in terms of this result, it was less about Boonnemouth,
- 13:53Speaker 3: or maybe I'm taking credit away from Bournemouth, but also
- 13:55Speaker 3: shocking to see Spurs because after you beat man City,
- 13:58Speaker 3: not that this is the first time this is happened.
- 14:00Speaker 3: After beating Man City, this was not the performance you wanted.
- 14:03Speaker 3: You wanted a very solid creating zero point one nine
- 14:07Speaker 3: x g at home means you literally just you know,
- 14:10Speaker 3: you had no chances at Gaul at home. That's very
- 14:13Speaker 3: surprising to me.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, to not get a big chance is poor, is
- 14:18Speaker 1: really poor, and especially against a Bornma team which is
- 14:20Speaker 1: a completely new back line, including a new goalkeeper, Like
- 14:23Speaker 1: you think you're going to test them, but they seem
- 14:25Speaker 1: to have gelled really well. And Spurs it looks like
- 14:27Speaker 1: Selanki's going to be out for some time with Rasharlason there.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Maybe they're lacking a little bit of something up top
- 14:32Speaker 1: and we'll see what what the next couple of game
- 14:36Speaker 1: weeks brings for them in terms of how they're going
- 14:38Speaker 1: to shape up. But yeah, it's put me off Spurs
- 14:40Speaker 1: attack a little bit that performance. I still think they'll
- 14:43Speaker 1: keep lots of clean sheets under Thomas Frank, but maybe
- 14:45Speaker 1: they're not quite as attractive an FBL team as we
- 14:47Speaker 1: thought they were going to be early on on me
- 14:49Speaker 1: to give Frank time. You mentioned justin klive it there.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I thought that was really interesting because this season he's
- 14:54Speaker 1: been We saw pre season he was injured but then
- 14:57Speaker 1: also linked with a move away. I think ten hugs
- 15:00Speaker 1: lever cues and we're in for him at some point
- 15:02Speaker 1: as a verts replacement. But cliver at Bournemouth we know
- 15:05Speaker 1: is brilliant because he takes penalties and they're a team
- 15:08Speaker 1: that win penalties. But I'm not sure if he's getting
- 15:10Speaker 1: straight into the eleven. Just watching Bournemouth the last few weeks,
- 15:13Speaker 1: there's been a bit of a shift in terms of positioning,
- 15:16Speaker 1: Like Marcus Tiverney is playing the number ten role. When
- 15:18Speaker 1: he's playing it really well, We're used to seeing him
- 15:20Speaker 1: out wide. We're seeing David Brooks now out wide again.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Played really well against Spurs, put it on a plate
- 15:25Speaker 1: with an outside of the boot cross for Semeno. Semenio
- 15:28Speaker 1: missed another big chance. He keeps missing them, but he's
- 15:31Speaker 1: getting them, but Timernial on the ten, Brooks on the right.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I wonder if Clive gets straight back into this eleven.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He did play in the League Cup the other day
- 15:38Speaker 1: and again I thought maybe he has a chance of
- 15:40Speaker 1: starting against Spurs, but I wonder if he struggles to
- 15:42Speaker 1: get in, and if he does, begs a question who's
- 15:44Speaker 1: going to be on pens. Last season, Evanilsen took a pen,
- 15:47Speaker 1: missed it and Semenia took a pen scored it, so
- 15:50Speaker 1: I think only had one each last season. Semeno's may
- 15:53Speaker 1: have been in the shootout. I can't remember, but I
- 15:55Speaker 1: think Semeno is a very good chance of being on
- 15:58Speaker 1: pens if Clive it's not on the pitch. It's a
- 15:59Speaker 1: bit of a coin toss between him and him and Evanilsen.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But watch this space because sevenio is not cheap. But
- 16:05Speaker 1: he gets the big chances. And if he has penalties
- 16:07Speaker 1: and he gets ninety minutes and his team score a
- 16:09Speaker 1: lot of goals, there's a lot to like about some Mania.
- 16:11Speaker 1: The fixtures are kind as well.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he could have a big season, like he could
- 16:15Speaker 3: have a Imboomo twenty four to twenty five Pinds season
- 16:18Speaker 3: if he gets penalties. Penalties just adds six free goals. Now,
- 16:22Speaker 3: of course people can miss penalties as well, but if
- 16:25Speaker 3: he gets them, that just elevates you. You know, I
- 16:27Speaker 3: would bump up anyone's f PL price or adjust it
- 16:31Speaker 3: plus or minus one million, depending on if they get
- 16:33Speaker 3: penalties nailed on or not. So this is why in
- 16:35Speaker 3: my mind Mateta went up. Even though es A left.
- 16:38Speaker 3: You could think that, you know, what is the impact
- 16:41Speaker 3: of es leaving, But then you're one hundred percent nailed
- 16:44Speaker 3: on Mateta taking penalties for Crystal Palace. You're like, you
- 16:46Speaker 3: know what I've actually got that's gone up in my assessment.
- 16:49Speaker 3: So if you tell me that Clive, it's not going
- 16:51Speaker 3: to be taking penalties, are not going to be starting
- 16:53Speaker 3: se Menu gets them. Oh, I'm in, I'm in. That's
- 16:56Speaker 3: that's the kind of thing I like to hear if
- 16:58Speaker 3: it happens.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and Semenio last season is penalty. I watched it
- 17:02Speaker 1: back the other day. Semenio has one finish in football.
- 17:06Speaker 1: He does not know how to place the ball. He
- 17:08Speaker 1: knows how to lace the ball and smash it. And
- 17:10Speaker 1: his penalty he laced it. I remember Evan Neilson went, Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I feel like it was in the League Cup, but
- 17:15Speaker 1: it was Evanilson had a side foot saved by Sanchez.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Bit tame and Semenio, yeah, we've seen it this season.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Like he's he does get the big chances and even
- 17:25Speaker 1: in open plays he either blazes them high and wide
- 17:28Speaker 1: or if they're on target, they usually go in because
- 17:30Speaker 1: he hits the ball so hard. So watch this base
- 17:33Speaker 1: on SEMENI I am interested in Bournemouth. Timlio is like
- 17:35Speaker 1: five point five, Brooks is five. The problem with midfielder
- 17:38Speaker 1: is in that price band. Is if you're going to
- 17:40Speaker 1: spend five point five or five, do you just go
- 17:42Speaker 1: for a defensive contribution monster. And there's lots of them
- 17:45Speaker 1: in that price band who probably clock more points over time,
- 17:48Speaker 1: although less explosive. Perhaps we've managed really well. We've gone
- 17:53Speaker 1: fifteen minutes in and we've still not mentioned Man United.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I was trying to avoid it for as long as possible,
- 17:57Speaker 1: but it feels like we have to go to the
- 17:59Speaker 1: very I obviously bought in Cunia and captained him, you own,
- 18:03Speaker 1: Bruno captained him. We all knew United would score goals
- 18:06Speaker 1: versus Burnley. I think we probably couldn't guarantee that win
- 18:08Speaker 1: the football match, but we felt like they would score goals.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So fair play for you keeping the faith with Bruno.
- 18:14Speaker 1: That was a well deserved return from Bruno. Because some
- 18:18Speaker 1: will say last minute penalty, you're getting lucky. But Bruno
- 18:20Speaker 1: was amazing all game, wasn't he.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I mean he was even at halftime, he'd created the
- 18:26Speaker 3: most number of chances, he'd had the most number of shots,
- 18:29Speaker 3: and of course he does all the other defensive stuff
- 18:31Speaker 3: which gets him defensive contribution points. So I just felt
- 18:34Speaker 3: like this is a game where if Man United have
- 18:36Speaker 3: a lot of the ball, it's not like Bruno's going
- 18:38Speaker 3: to sit back. You can look at the positions all
- 18:40Speaker 3: you want, but he's always the guy who joins in
- 18:43Speaker 3: the attack if there is you know, if they're in possession.
- 18:45Speaker 3: So I felt it was a good game for him.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I would have felt very unlucky had he not come
- 18:51Speaker 3: out with anything other than that a defensive contribution, two
- 18:54Speaker 3: pointer and a yellow card. But ultimately I also feel
- 18:57Speaker 3: for people who went Kunya because Counia was probably a
- 18:59Speaker 3: Man United player in the three games they've played so
- 19:02Speaker 3: far before Burnley, and you know he was playing number
- 19:06Speaker 3: nine because Cesco is still not ready. I think Amorim
- 19:09Speaker 3: said that he ended the League Cup game with some cramps,
- 19:12Speaker 3: so playing number nine against Burnley as an out of
- 19:14Speaker 3: position midfielder looking great. It's just it's just unlucky, right,
- 19:19Speaker 3: I mean, he should have been part of my net.
- 19:21Speaker 3: It had some twenty odd shots not on target, but
- 19:25Speaker 3: shots in general in the first half. He only got
- 19:28Speaker 3: the one, which is I think also unlucky because it's
- 19:30Speaker 3: just one of those things that didn't fall to him.
- 19:32Speaker 3: But it wasn't like he wasn't involved in the build
- 19:33Speaker 3: up or anything. So I just I just feel that
- 19:36Speaker 3: if you went Kunia, that was very very unlucky.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, fair play.
- 19:39Speaker 1: If you went at Burmo too, like it was going
- 19:41Speaker 1: against the obvious. Bruno was the obvious pick, and maybe
- 19:44Speaker 1: some went for the short term, one week nature of
- 19:47Speaker 1: a higher ceiling Kunya or on Burmo, but I feel
- 19:50Speaker 1: like Bruno was a sensible pick, and with hindsight, I
- 19:52Speaker 1: don't know why I didn't go there. I think I
- 19:54Speaker 1: just went, I only want this player for one week
- 19:56Speaker 1: and then I'm selling them and I'll go against the
- 19:58Speaker 1: obvious and go the upside that could you can bring.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But Bruno brings upside too. But those when and Burmo
- 20:02Speaker 1: were awarded scored a goal looked really good. And obviously
- 20:06Speaker 1: we saw a glimmer from Amburma against Grimsby, Like he
- 20:08Speaker 1: came off the bench and scored a really good goal
- 20:10Speaker 1: against Grimsby and he feels like he's up and running
- 20:12Speaker 1: now in the United.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Yet yeah, I mean, he's just class. I mean, Man
- 20:16Speaker 3: United have not had a left footed right winger for ages.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I can't remember the last time they did. I mean,
- 20:22Speaker 3: of course Anthony was one but didn't work out. But
- 20:25Speaker 3: it's just never been the case that they've had a
- 20:27Speaker 3: good player. Sancho was right footed, Rashford was right footed,
- 20:30Speaker 3: so it's now the balance of the team on the
- 20:32Speaker 3: right hand side looks a lot better. I think there's
- 20:34Speaker 3: more to do between his chemistry with a mud and
- 20:37Speaker 3: when they overlap or underlap. I think there's sometimes a
- 20:39Speaker 3: little bit of confusion. Ahmad's not just going to overlap
- 20:42Speaker 3: all the time. He's not that traditional defender right He
- 20:45Speaker 3: also wants to get into the box, so that chemistry
- 20:48Speaker 3: needs to develop a little bit. But from an FBI
- 20:50Speaker 3: point of view, purely, I think Boom was great because
- 20:53Speaker 3: he's taking all the left sided set pieces, corners and
- 20:57Speaker 3: free kicks, and he just has an eye for goal.
- 20:59Speaker 3: He missed or he had a couple of chances saved
- 21:02Speaker 3: in this game. This could have been a fifteen to
- 21:03Speaker 3: twenty point game for Bomo.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Should we be buying a United mid though, City Chelsea
- 21:09Speaker 1: up next? I mean Sunderland after that, but City United
- 21:12Speaker 1: up next. It feels like you've had your time. If
- 21:15Speaker 1: you're going to buy them, it had to be before
- 21:16Speaker 1: Burnley and now you just you just hold if you
- 21:19Speaker 1: have them. Depending on Kunya's injury status you keep, but
- 21:23Speaker 1: if you don't, you don't buy.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Is that fair assessment on United attackers.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's very fair. I mean I would say that
- 21:29Speaker 3: even when it's Sunderland, like I mean, you don't have
- 21:32Speaker 3: to pick a man United attacker for any fixture, especially
- 21:35Speaker 3: if you think about the Sunderland fixture, they will be
- 21:37Speaker 3: Arsenal who are playing West Tamatome always have to think
- 21:39Speaker 3: about captaincy right, gave.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Me three, we didn't.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I think the Palmer injury made it worse for people.
- 21:45Speaker 3: So people who didn't have Palmer or had Palmer would
- 21:48Speaker 3: have Captain Palmer home to Fulham, but then that option
- 21:50Speaker 3: went away, so people like you had to go for
- 21:52Speaker 3: somebody I would have, you know, been in a major
- 21:55Speaker 3: dilemma if Palmer was fit with at Captain Bruno or
- 21:58Speaker 3: Palmer but ended up working working out. So it's one
- 22:01Speaker 3: of those things. By Gamemix seven, people may not even
- 22:03Speaker 3: want to go there, and I don't hate it. You
- 22:05Speaker 3: don't have to go from an United pick. There's a
- 22:06Speaker 3: little bit of nostalgia associated with their picks, but ultimately
- 22:10Speaker 3: if you look at supply and demand, their picks are
- 22:13Speaker 3: actually more expensive for what they offer in terms of attack,
- 22:18Speaker 3: in terms of where they will finish in the Premier League,
- 22:20Speaker 3: paying nine million eight million for their attackers, you can
- 22:22Speaker 3: do better with a se menu or you know other
- 22:25Speaker 3: picks that we'll talk about from Palace for example.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah, good point, I come with you there. The mag
- 22:30Speaker 1: United fixtures with Captaincy is so important. Like the reason
- 22:33Speaker 1: we all went there was we were short this week.
- 22:35Speaker 1: When they play Sunland in a couple of weeks, we
- 22:37Speaker 1: probably won't be short. There will be other options also
- 22:39Speaker 1: worth No a mag United hosted Bernie and I do
- 22:41Speaker 1: feel like the newly promoted teams on the road will
- 22:44Speaker 1: be fixtures we can target, but at home they might
- 22:46Speaker 1: put up a bigger fight than we expect, or a
- 22:49Speaker 1: bigger fight than what we've seen from newly promoted teams
- 22:51Speaker 1: in the past. Like I think I calculated. The newly
- 22:54Speaker 1: promoted teams have had five home games so far. Burnie
- 22:57Speaker 1: have had one leeds and sudden number two each. In
- 22:59Speaker 1: those fixtures. We've seen four wins in a draw from
- 23:02Speaker 1: those promoted teams. Like they're quite good at home at
- 23:05Speaker 1: the moment. Sure they're not going to win all their
- 23:06Speaker 1: home games, but they're gonna put up a good fight
- 23:09Speaker 1: and sudden of course host Man United.
- 23:11Speaker 2: In a couple of weeks time, I.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Know it's actually managed it home to Sundron.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Oh is it?
- 23:15Speaker 1: Oh Man, I'm gonna have to buy your night a
- 23:17Speaker 1: player again or keep hold of I was really hoping
- 23:20Speaker 1: that was at the stadium a life.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I do agree with with with your with your hypothesis
- 23:25Speaker 3: on on the on the Premier League promoted teams though,
- 23:28Speaker 3: because I think they are better than what we've seen
- 23:30Speaker 3: in the last two three years. They are looking much
- 23:33Speaker 3: better defensively, which is the important point. Like if you
- 23:35Speaker 3: think about Ipswich that came up last season, they were
- 23:38Speaker 3: really good in attack, they were really good in build
- 23:40Speaker 3: up play, but then when you come to the Premier League,
- 23:43Speaker 3: just don't have the ball as much so you cannot attack.
- 23:45Speaker 3: So the discipline of staying back, you know, keeping your lines,
- 23:50Speaker 3: being good in the counter. I think Burley and leads
- 23:52Speaker 3: specially Sunday, and I'm still not sure because they have
- 23:55Speaker 3: so many new signings that they could land anywhere and
- 23:58Speaker 3: the eeror Bars are very high in terms of how
- 24:00Speaker 3: they do this season. But I think the other do
- 24:02Speaker 3: especially They're just good teams build on good systems and
- 24:05Speaker 3: a good defensive block, and I think they should do Okay.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Yeah, like we're seeing some clean sheets there. Let's go
- 24:12Speaker 1: to the other side of Manaster because this was a
- 24:14Speaker 1: fun game. I feel like Brighton City is always a
- 24:17Speaker 1: fun game like that. Two teams that just when you know,
- 24:19Speaker 1: are going to play football and have a go and
- 24:20Speaker 1: not to worry too much about the opposition, and it
- 24:23Speaker 1: was end to end. I feel like City looked quite
- 24:26Speaker 1: good to start off with Harlan could have scored a
- 24:28Speaker 1: couple of goals. They go one nil up and they're
- 24:30Speaker 1: looking comfortable, but then a minute Brighton score, and we
- 24:33Speaker 1: saw so many shades of this last season with man City.
- 24:36Speaker 1: As soon as they concede, they look they they just
- 24:39Speaker 1: crumble a little bit, like they've got a bit of
- 24:41Speaker 1: a soft center. And it's not the city we saw
- 24:43Speaker 1: when PEP first came in or when they were winning
- 24:46Speaker 1: titles or champions leagues. It's they're just not as ruthless.
- 24:50Speaker 1: They're just not as confident. And as soon as Brighton
- 24:52Speaker 1: scored that goal, it looked like there was only ever
- 24:54Speaker 1: going to be one winner. So fair play to Brighton,
- 24:56Speaker 1: but I guess we should analyze City first, because there's
- 24:58Speaker 1: more fpel interested in that team, and Harland is just
- 25:02Speaker 1: as always the big chance hogged like everything filters to Harland.
- 25:07Speaker 1: The share of points and the share of XG. It's
- 25:10Speaker 1: so swayed towards Harland that there's not really any point
- 25:13Speaker 1: shopping for the Man City attackers. It's either go Harland
- 25:16Speaker 1: or go no One. You could argue Rinders, but I'm
- 25:18Speaker 1: not going to call him an attacker yet. What's your
- 25:21Speaker 1: take there on watching Harland? We knew he was going
- 25:22Speaker 1: to score lots of goals. Some have got extra Palmer
- 25:25Speaker 1: money could upgrade a Watkins to Harland for example.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I mean, I'm still you know, like I said, this
- 25:33Speaker 3: was the introduction we had where I'm not sure on
- 25:35Speaker 3: what the meta is or what the best strategy is.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Yet it so happened that Sucker and Palmer are injured,
- 25:41Speaker 3: so that everybody's thinking, Okay, Harland and Salo works, but
- 25:44Speaker 3: maybe it doesn't work when Sacker and Palmer have great
- 25:46Speaker 3: fixtures in game week seven and beyond. So coming to
- 25:50Speaker 3: specifically the question on Harland, Yeah, I mean, I think
- 25:53Speaker 3: nothing has changed with him in the first six touches
- 25:57Speaker 3: he had. I think it was in the first half
- 25:59Speaker 3: five or so. That tells you that he's doing nothing
- 26:02Speaker 3: other than just being there waiting to get the ball
- 26:04Speaker 3: and shoot the ball, and so he will get a
- 26:07Speaker 3: lot of chances. On the other side of the coin
- 26:09Speaker 3: is he's fourteen million for a team that's got one
- 26:13Speaker 3: victory and two losses in the first three games. So
- 26:17Speaker 3: which side of the coin are you in terms of
- 26:18Speaker 3: our man City is going to have another okay season
- 26:21Speaker 3: where they have a cup run. They do all right
- 26:23Speaker 3: in the Champions League, but they're nowhere near in the
- 26:25Speaker 3: in the actual league. But it's too early to say that,
- 26:29Speaker 3: so I'm not sure. You know, it's I think early season,
- 26:32Speaker 3: it's okay to say you're not sure whether Holland is
- 26:34Speaker 3: the pick or not, because I don't want to fall
- 26:36Speaker 3: for the trap where I've restructured my whole team around Holland. Again,
- 26:40Speaker 3: remember the people game week ten to game week twenty
- 26:43Speaker 3: where people who just held on to Holland for that
- 26:45Speaker 3: period and Salah went crazy. That was season defining ultimately,
- 26:49Speaker 3: that was me in It ruined my season exactly. So
- 26:51Speaker 3: I don't want to fall into that Harland Sala structure.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Commit to it and then I see everybody else around
- 26:57Speaker 3: me starting to do well again because your careers has
- 26:59Speaker 3: good fixtures esk. You know if he ends up at Liverpool,
- 27:02Speaker 3: which is looking likely, if you know that, he would
- 27:05Speaker 3: have something to say at some point. So going for
- 27:07Speaker 3: that structure feels a little bit rigid to me. Harland
- 27:11Speaker 3: instead of Sala. I can have a conversition around that.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Salah has Burnley coming up, so it's not the best
- 27:16Speaker 3: point to do that switch. But I think at some
- 27:18Speaker 3: point if you wanted to do that switch, I can
- 27:20Speaker 3: have a confision around that, because there's changes in Liverpool
- 27:23Speaker 3: as well, which will come to after this game.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know how I feel about Harland. I've
- 27:28Speaker 1: got what I've got money left over from Palmer. I'm
- 27:30Speaker 1: going to downgrade Kunya to someone possibly as low as
- 27:33Speaker 1: saying Elliott Anderson. I could go up from Watkins to Harland,
- 27:36Speaker 1: but I'm very conscious that it's a rigid structure as
- 27:39Speaker 1: soon as you've got Salo and Harland in your team.
- 27:40Speaker 1: And then there's the captaincy argument. It's not just forty
- 27:43Speaker 1: million on a player that's in a team that's not
- 27:46Speaker 1: playing that well. It's forty million on a player that
- 27:48Speaker 1: you might not captain that much. I mean game week
- 27:50Speaker 1: six versus Burnley. Sure, everyone's going to captain Harland if
- 27:53Speaker 1: you own him. Outside of that, it's not a huge
- 27:55Speaker 1: amount of fixtures. But then if you're captaining Salah, should
- 27:58Speaker 1: we be or should we be captaining Harland? Maybe maybe
- 28:00Speaker 1: there's a question there too, like Salah is a bit
- 28:02Speaker 1: of a set and forget when we're not sure and
- 28:04Speaker 1: actually maybe there's a slight shift there in Liverpool and yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 1: let's get to Liverpool in a sec. But I guess
- 28:12Speaker 1: man City defense like swerve goalkeeper, swerve, like we don't
- 28:15Speaker 1: know if it will be Trafford on a rima, Like
- 28:17Speaker 1: let's just watch this space with city defense a lot
- 28:20Speaker 1: on eight Norri that he's showing signs of getting forward
- 28:23Speaker 1: and it created a big chance for Harland in the
- 28:25Speaker 1: first half, put it right on his Hardland should have scored.
- 28:28Speaker 1: But again, I don't know if we're going to see
- 28:30Speaker 1: a huge amount of clean sheets. So I think I'm
- 28:32Speaker 1: happy just to monitor eate Norri. Are you are you
- 28:36Speaker 1: in the same boat there? Same with a lot of
- 28:37Speaker 1: those six million defenders. To be fair, do you go
- 28:39Speaker 1: for a five and a half defender that can get
- 28:41Speaker 1: deaf con or do you go for a six million
- 28:43Speaker 1: that plays for one of the better teams but actually
- 28:45Speaker 1: isn't getting many attacking returns.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Yeah, this is good to be the dilemma of the season,
- 28:49Speaker 3: which is why I think if people have done really
- 28:51Speaker 3: well with the pricing, where the big teams have got
- 28:54Speaker 3: their defenders at six million, and you know you have
- 28:56Speaker 3: these five point fives that can match or at least
- 28:58Speaker 3: try to match with the contribution points. I think on
- 29:02Speaker 3: on City, I particularly my strategy is to free hit
- 29:05Speaker 3: in game week six, which is their prime home home
- 29:07Speaker 3: to Burnley fixture. So I'm of the opinion that just
- 29:11Speaker 3: watch watch the minutes for these players, pick your three
- 29:14Speaker 3: for game week six, and then after that, at some
- 29:17Speaker 3: point you'll go for your double triple Man City, you'll
- 29:19Speaker 3: get your Harland's after gimmick thirteen. Their fixtion is incredible.
- 29:23Speaker 3: They play three promoted teams in the next six so
- 29:26Speaker 3: that will be the time where you have to think
- 29:28Speaker 3: about should I go Horland, should I go Salah, should
- 29:31Speaker 3: I go both? And should I go for eight Nori
- 29:34Speaker 3: or don Ruma if he's playing and you know if
- 29:36Speaker 3: he's if he's there, so there's a lot of question
- 29:39Speaker 3: marks on city, both in terms of form, both in
- 29:41Speaker 3: terms of FPL interest. Harland is still very good. Everybody
- 29:45Speaker 3: else wait and watch. That's where I am at least.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I love that 're on different approaches because I think
- 29:49Speaker 1: three hit six will be popular, Wildcard six will be popular,
- 29:52Speaker 1: and it will be getting Harland in for Burnley.
- 29:54Speaker 2: My approach is, I.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Don't think I want to free hit all wildcard in six,
- 29:58Speaker 1: but I do need Harland in my team, hence thinking
- 30:00Speaker 1: about going for the double up Harland Salin now. But
- 30:03Speaker 1: then as a get out clause. If it's too rigid
- 30:06Speaker 1: come game week seven eight and I need Arsenal players whatever,
- 30:09Speaker 1: then I've got a World card as an out. I
- 30:11Speaker 1: think that's what I'm going with. My team in six
- 30:12Speaker 1: is quite well set up. I don't want to free
- 30:15Speaker 1: hit that week. I've got forests for example, I'll be
- 30:17Speaker 1: on triple Forest like it's interesting, it's great. I love
- 30:21Speaker 1: the extra chips. The extra chips are really welcome addition
- 30:23Speaker 1: to FPL and gives us more fun and more creativity
- 30:27Speaker 1: and more differences and less of an optimal route. Let's
- 30:30Speaker 1: move on to Liverpool Arsenal because I mean it wasn't
- 30:32Speaker 1: a great game, was it. Arteta does this big game
- 30:35Speaker 1: up against a top of the table clash, especially away
- 30:39Speaker 1: from home. He goes and he just makes it really
- 30:41Speaker 1: really tight. And yeah, it took us abotsly worldI to
- 30:45Speaker 1: get a winner, but we very nearly. It was very
- 30:47Speaker 1: nearly a Neil Neil And it's just what Arteta does
- 30:49Speaker 1: in these big games. And it would have been three
- 30:51Speaker 1: from three for Arsenal clean sheets. But they're not attacking well,
- 30:54Speaker 1: they're not creating open play XG. I think only Sunderland
- 30:57Speaker 1: have produced lower XG and open play the Arsenal this season.
- 31:01Speaker 1: But they are efficient in terms of they will partner
- 31:06Speaker 1: the bus and they will very rarely conceive big chances.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and I wonder if we're being a little bit
- 31:12Speaker 3: hard on them because Liverpool away is a tough fixture.
- 31:16Speaker 3: They were without oder guard without soccer As is still
- 31:19Speaker 3: not completely you know, he's not ready to start games,
- 31:22Speaker 3: so I wonder if that changes slightly with you know,
- 31:26Speaker 3: once your careers is also more bedded into the league.
- 31:29Speaker 3: So they have tried, but what we've seen so far
- 31:32Speaker 3: is the same Arsenal as last season, where they're struggling
- 31:35Speaker 3: to create chances, but still getting out the one nil
- 31:37Speaker 3: two nil wins because their defense is still great. They're
- 31:40Speaker 3: still great at set pieces. So I don't think we've
- 31:42Speaker 3: learned anything new. We were hoping to learn something new
- 31:45Speaker 3: where with your careers, with everybody else who they've signed
- 31:48Speaker 3: as a maduake that there's a little bit of spice
- 31:50Speaker 3: in their attack. Haven't seen it yet. I mean, what
- 31:53Speaker 3: can I say in terms of FBL picks. I think
- 31:56Speaker 3: they will be all great, three great FBL picks will
- 31:59Speaker 3: emerge by gimmicks and maybe more, and we just need
- 32:02Speaker 3: to be flexible enough to go there when the time
- 32:05Speaker 3: is right. But it's never bad to go double arsenal
- 32:08Speaker 3: defense strip with arsenal defense that we know is not
- 32:10Speaker 3: going anywhere, right. I mean, Gabrielle is still great, Raya
- 32:13Speaker 3: is still a good goalkeeper option. Although Saliba had a
- 32:17Speaker 3: little bit of an injury or an ankle sprint that
- 32:19Speaker 3: we found out after that he got in the warm
- 32:21Speaker 3: up and he couldn't continue even though he started. Does
- 32:24Speaker 3: that put you off at all arsenal defense or it's
- 32:26Speaker 3: just a machine that will continue anyway.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah, just a machine that will continue anyway. It feels
- 32:31Speaker 1: like yes, We know Sleibra and Gabriell were world class,
- 32:34Speaker 1: but even last season I remember seeing injuries.
- 32:36Speaker 2: It was in the running.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I think we saw Kivi or get loads of games
- 32:39Speaker 1: at center back and did really well. It was like
- 32:41Speaker 1: they still keep Clanchees. It's just a style of players
- 32:43Speaker 1: to protection in front of them. He often goes with
- 32:46Speaker 1: four center backs, like Klafiori and Timber. You could argue
- 32:49Speaker 1: Calafury especially, you know he's more a center back than
- 32:51Speaker 1: a fallback. But Ben White when he paid right back,
- 32:54Speaker 1: you know by trade, he was originally a center back.
- 32:56Speaker 1: So it's just what Arteta does. It doesn't really matter
- 32:59Speaker 1: too much on the part personnel. And actually the fullbacks
- 33:01Speaker 1: are interesting because if it consistently is Timber and Cali Fury,
- 33:07Speaker 1: then now we're looking at too because you get some
- 33:08Speaker 1: attack my turns and they're cheaper. But of course Champions
- 33:11Speaker 1: League is coming up and you expect there to be
- 33:13Speaker 1: a little bit of rotation for the fallbacks and then
- 33:15Speaker 1: Sleebra and Gabrielle set and forget. But even Rya is interesting.
- 33:18Speaker 1: You're right, Gyokearez, Yeah, I think he'll be good in
- 33:21Speaker 1: the fixtures. We need him to be good. The ones
- 33:23Speaker 1: where we captain him, where he's playing Burnley in Sunderland.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I think he'll score goals in some of the tough
- 33:29Speaker 1: games when he goes to an Aclod. I didn't expect much,
- 33:31Speaker 1: but I didn't expect much from Arsenal, didn't expect much
- 33:33Speaker 1: from Arteta, so it makes sense.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I'm happy there.
- 33:36Speaker 1: And again, if we get Gyakras on pens, he could
- 33:38Speaker 1: have that bump again. You look at him and go
- 33:40Speaker 1: nine million. That's great value because he's taken pens and
- 33:42Speaker 1: he's probably been priced without them. Let's see if he
- 33:45Speaker 1: takes them off soccer, I expect you will. Let's talk
- 33:48Speaker 1: at Liverpool because the Esak signing Salah lots of discuss.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right, Liverpool's attack looks looks really good. I mean,
- 33:56Speaker 3: if we don't even know how this will work. Once
- 33:59Speaker 3: Essec joins, will Sec share some minutes with Ekitik, Will
- 34:02Speaker 3: Ekk take minutes off Gatpo, Will Will Will verts play
- 34:08Speaker 3: in the number ten the whole time. Because Subosla is
- 34:10Speaker 3: looking really good. I think you know, people are defaulting
- 34:14Speaker 3: Rosala simply because they just don't know who else to
- 34:16Speaker 3: pick as a Liverpool attacker who will consistently get minutes
- 34:20Speaker 3: over the next two or three, especially now that Esak
- 34:23Speaker 3: has also been thrown into the mix.
- 34:24Speaker 1: There are all the questions and we just don't have
- 34:26Speaker 1: the answers, but you're right to pose them all. Like
- 34:29Speaker 1: the Ekitk Gakpo VI's potential rotation is there, subbots Liers
- 34:34Speaker 1: is playing so well, and free Pomp will be back
- 34:37Speaker 1: soon playing right back. You can't drop subbotsly does he
- 34:40Speaker 1: play in the ten or? Saloh is the ninety minute man.
- 34:43Speaker 1: He's the guy that is just so history tells us
- 34:46Speaker 1: is so reliable. Will he be reliable this season? I
- 34:49Speaker 1: expect he still will be. I am really really conscious
- 34:52Speaker 1: that Esak up front, VI's in the ten ekitk or
- 34:55Speaker 1: Gagpo on the left. Let's say it's ekitk like there's
- 34:58Speaker 1: more goals in that team now. But does more goals
- 35:01Speaker 1: lower the share for Sala I think it absolutely will.
- 35:04Speaker 1: But if the team is scoring more goals overall, then
- 35:06Speaker 1: maybe that doesn't matter too much. So let's see what
- 35:08Speaker 1: happens with Salary still on pens. He's still a ninety
- 35:10Speaker 1: minute man, He's still going to get chances, and he's
- 35:13Speaker 1: still often going to be the best captaincy option because
- 35:15Speaker 1: the fixtures are there and the team he plays for
- 35:18Speaker 1: are playing so well that they're going to be the
- 35:19Speaker 1: best attack in the league. I've got no doubt, but
- 35:21Speaker 1: I'm slightly worried that Esak's going to steal a lot
- 35:24Speaker 1: of goals from him. But you could argue someone's got
- 35:26Speaker 1: to serve him and Salah maybe maybe gets more of
- 35:29Speaker 1: his points.
- 35:30Speaker 3: That's that's the hope. But I think it's one of
- 35:32Speaker 3: those cases which which puts me off wild card a
- 35:34Speaker 3: little bit, where or you know, the structure that you've
- 35:37Speaker 3: talked about with Salah and Highland, where I'm just thinking,
- 35:40Speaker 3: I have no idea which if I want two Liverpool attackers,
- 35:43Speaker 3: who the second one is, or if I even want Salah,
- 35:46Speaker 3: if I want, you know, you could have your nice
- 35:48Speaker 3: Liverpool triple up within Esak. I'm just throwing names out
- 35:51Speaker 3: there for the moment, Esk, Wirtz and van Dyk, and
- 35:56Speaker 3: of course there's question marks and words as well, but
- 35:58Speaker 3: you could have that as a viable ripple up to
- 36:00Speaker 3: a four day Harland Palmer structure. So it's just so
- 36:04Speaker 3: much up in the air that I just feel so
- 36:07Speaker 3: nervous that if you're looking to wildcard that you're committing
- 36:09Speaker 3: to structures. Of course you can make transfers, you can
- 36:11Speaker 3: change it later. Then I just we get through the
- 36:13Speaker 3: season early part of the season, understand these teams a
- 36:17Speaker 3: little better in terms of dynamics. Everybody's got a new
- 36:19Speaker 3: signing or two, and watch how this interplace where the
- 36:23Speaker 3: goal chaers are landing, and then you can wildcard at
- 36:26Speaker 3: some point. That's at least my thinking, because at the
- 36:29Speaker 3: moment there's Salah. Default just happens because he's probably the
- 36:32Speaker 3: best captain in game weeg four game week five.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Right, yeah, I think so.
- 36:36Speaker 1: And there's two players, as we both own, that we
- 36:39Speaker 1: need to discuss because there's a lot of managers out
- 36:41Speaker 1: there selling them. They've both dropped in price. We are
- 36:44Speaker 1: probably staying patient. But Florin VI it's first and foremost.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I think we're both very happy to carry it for Burnley.
- 36:48Speaker 1: He looked good in the second half, I thought Viz.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I thought I had a good half an hour before
- 36:53Speaker 1: he came off, and that was promising. And against Burnley,
- 36:55Speaker 1: of course you cannot sell flowing vit. Surely guys don't
- 36:58Speaker 1: do it. But then the other players are Watkins and
- 37:00Speaker 1: we should move on to aston Villa Palace because Ollie
- 37:03Speaker 1: Watkins has had three games now three blanks, and people
- 37:06Speaker 1: have Palmer money, and there's players out there like Mateta
- 37:09Speaker 1: with a great fixture. You could move down Jau Pedro
- 37:12Speaker 1: people don't own. You could move to Jao Pedro from Watkins,
- 37:15Speaker 1: or you can maybe go up to a Esak if
- 37:17Speaker 1: you fancy him, although I don't expect him to start
- 37:19Speaker 1: game week four.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Or in Earling Harland.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Like I am getting twitchy on Watkins, I'm not twitchy
- 37:24Speaker 1: on Bits and yes Watkins has some good fixtures, but
- 37:28Speaker 1: Watkins has had three really good fixtures. At some point
- 37:30Speaker 1: we need to say you can't keep him just because
- 37:33Speaker 1: he's got good fixtures. The team are not functioning well.
- 37:36Speaker 1: They've had zero goals, they're not creating high XG. They
- 37:39Speaker 1: look off it, and I think there's a chance I
- 37:42Speaker 1: sell Watkins for game week four.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Look, I can't fault it. If you have to sell him,
- 37:48Speaker 3: you have to sell him, but I will be sting patient.
- 37:50Speaker 3: But you see in FBO it's not should we sell
- 37:54Speaker 3: or by because it depends on your team. If there's
- 37:56Speaker 3: other more immediate games you can make from selling either
- 38:00Speaker 3: players then that's the way to look at it. If
- 38:02Speaker 3: your team is in a good enough shape where you go,
- 38:03Speaker 3: you know what, I'm just going to do Watkins to
- 38:05Speaker 3: give cares because he's going to be home to Nottingham
- 38:07Speaker 3: first and then he has a fantastic fixture and of
- 38:10Speaker 3: course he has man City after, but that's at home.
- 38:13Speaker 3: So you could just take that view and say I'm
- 38:14Speaker 3: going to do that, or like you said, you could
- 38:16Speaker 3: upgrade him to Harland. You can do other stuff. So
- 38:18Speaker 3: if your team allows it and there's no other potential
- 38:20Speaker 3: issues in the team, go for it. In my case,
- 38:23Speaker 3: I'll be free hitting in game Mex six, So bookending
- 38:27Speaker 3: game Meek six is his fixtures against Sunderland and Burnley.
- 38:30Speaker 3: No chance I'm selling him before those two. Am I concerned?
- 38:33Speaker 3: Of course I am concerned. You know, they haven't scored
- 38:35Speaker 3: a single goal in the league in the first three games.
- 38:38Speaker 3: But it's just one of those things where if I
- 38:40Speaker 3: don't have a striker and I sell Watkins for that
- 38:43Speaker 3: striker and Watkins does well, it's just not the thing
- 38:47Speaker 3: that you know it will gives me so much regret
- 38:49Speaker 3: that I just think I got Watkins for the first
- 38:51Speaker 3: seven game weeks and I'm going to stay patient. That's
- 38:54Speaker 3: just the way I play. And if it doesn't work out,
- 38:57Speaker 3: it doesn't work out. It's not like he's never going
- 38:59Speaker 3: to score. Yeah, yeah, it's inevitable. The goals will come,
- 39:02Speaker 3: and they could. He missed a one on one yesterday. Yeah,
- 39:04Speaker 3: on Sunday. I bought him for the first seven game
- 39:07Speaker 3: weeks two. But I'm a little bit more impatient. I
- 39:10Speaker 3: don't know if I think there's a good chance he
- 39:13Speaker 3: leaves my team, but I do expect him to score.
- 39:15Speaker 3: And look, I'll probably free hit him in one of
- 39:16Speaker 3: those other weeks against against Sunland and Burnley. So yeah,
- 39:20Speaker 3: Villa not very convincing at all. But it is now
- 39:24Speaker 3: fourteen games on the bounce without the feet for Crystal
- 39:28Speaker 3: Palace in all comps, and they are looking very good,
- 39:30Speaker 3: even without Essay Daniel Minos. I think like Daniel Minos,
- 39:34Speaker 3: SA and Metteta. Oh, actually, let's put Laquir in the mix,
- 39:38Speaker 3: like four incredible FPI options, Like there's a lot to
- 39:42Speaker 3: like about Crystal Palace. And in game week four they
- 39:44Speaker 3: play Sunland at home. The entry point is amazing. I
- 39:47Speaker 3: think those four players are going to get a lot
- 39:49Speaker 3: of love in the international break, aren't they. Well, I'll
- 39:52Speaker 3: add my four point five million boy, Chris Richards in
- 39:54Speaker 3: the mix as well. I mean he's great for defensive
- 39:56Speaker 3: contributions as well. He got his defensive contributions for any
- 40:00Speaker 3: other player in the game last night. And yeah, I
- 40:03Speaker 3: think Pallace have some very good picks, and you know,
- 40:06Speaker 3: look at your team structure and see which one you
- 40:08Speaker 3: want to go with. But for me, number one above
- 40:12Speaker 3: everybody else is Daniel Munos because if you're getting a
- 40:15Speaker 3: guy who's essentially an attacker, because when you think about
- 40:18Speaker 3: teams that you know teams attack with five players. Any
- 40:22Speaker 3: Premier League team that you look without over committing, they
- 40:25Speaker 3: look at five players who are their attackers. In certain
- 40:27Speaker 3: cases that is just your you know, your three attackers
- 40:30Speaker 3: or your three forwards and two midfielders to join it.
- 40:33Speaker 3: In Crystal Palace's case, one of those attackers is Daniel Munos.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Every single time they're they're ahead, or they're in the
- 40:40Speaker 3: opposition third, he's there. He's in the box waiting and
- 40:44Speaker 3: he will get attacking returns. So if you're looking for
- 40:46Speaker 3: somebody who has clean sheet potential, attacking returns and the
- 40:50Speaker 3: occasional defensive contribution points. Daniel Munos is as good as
- 40:54Speaker 3: anybody else. So I just think with any fixture run
- 40:58Speaker 3: which starts with sunderline at home and it's then decent
- 41:01Speaker 3: for a while, you just get him and hold him.
- 41:03Speaker 3: And this was always an entry point that I was
- 41:05Speaker 3: thinking at the back of my mind that I'll get
- 41:07Speaker 3: Muna's for this week. And the reason I didn't get
- 41:10Speaker 3: Star and Macheta last week, because I made two free
- 41:14Speaker 3: transfers I could have afforded both, was because I wanted
- 41:16Speaker 3: to leave a space for Daniel Munoz, who will come
- 41:19Speaker 3: into my team this week.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Nice one.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he's the most obvious by in fl
- 41:22Speaker 1: At the moment, I was watching the game, knowing I
- 41:25Speaker 1: had a terrible game week. I needed those Mano's points
- 41:27Speaker 1: right heading into the international break, and I see eighty five.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I've had loads of clean sheet wipeouts this season. We
- 41:32Speaker 1: all have, right, I've got double knot and in forest defense,
- 41:35Speaker 1: so I'm used to clean sheet wipeouts. At the death
- 41:38Speaker 1: Daniel Mina's eighty four minutes, I think are on the
- 41:40Speaker 1: clock and I see Nathaniel Klein is coming off the bench,
- 41:42Speaker 1: and I'm like perfect. Manos is going to come off
- 41:45Speaker 1: with a clean sheet, banks with bonus points banked, I
- 41:48Speaker 1: don't have to sweat, and I knew there was going
- 41:49Speaker 1: to be a lot of it. At a time. It
- 41:51Speaker 1: was seven minutes and Client comes on and Minna stays
- 41:54Speaker 1: on the pitch. I was, oh my no, So Client
- 41:57Speaker 1: comes on at right wing back. Manat's actually go from
- 42:00Speaker 1: his right wing back position. As you say, he's a
- 42:02Speaker 1: front five player, he goes and plays front three. So
- 42:06Speaker 1: Minot's for the remainder of the football match. I mean,
- 42:08Speaker 1: I didn't want him on the pitch, but I was
- 42:10Speaker 1: part of it. Was like, oh, I might get a
- 42:11Speaker 1: goal here, he is so attacking. But yeah, it was
- 42:13Speaker 1: lovely to see him actually the end of the game,
- 42:15Speaker 1: not even as a wing back, even higher. But yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 1: he's a great bite and he's a ninety minute man.
- 42:19Speaker 1: And with European football, I'm slightly worried about Pallace because
- 42:22Speaker 1: they've not got the biggest squads to rotate mid week
- 42:24Speaker 1: and European foot was a big deal for them. I
- 42:26Speaker 1: don't see them putting out a B team on Thursday
- 42:28Speaker 1: nights necessarily, But even with that, Minods can play nineteen
- 42:32Speaker 1: ninety ninety. He is a fitness monster, so again another
- 42:36Speaker 1: reason to pick him.
- 42:36Speaker 3: I think yeah so, And apart from him, I think
- 42:40Speaker 3: you can't go wrong with anyone else. Like if you
- 42:42Speaker 3: wanted to pick a Matteta or a Sar I think
- 42:46Speaker 3: if a structure allows, Sarah is slightly better because midfielders
- 42:49Speaker 3: are generally better, but then Manteta mix up for it
- 42:52Speaker 3: with his penalty, So I think you can pick one,
- 42:54Speaker 3: you can pick both. You can go for double defense
- 42:57Speaker 3: because I think people would say Christian Palace double defense
- 43:00Speaker 3: question mark, but they're good even away from home. In fact,
- 43:03Speaker 3: I would say away from home they're even better because
- 43:05Speaker 3: the way that Glassner sets them up. Remember last season
- 43:08Speaker 3: when we had the assistant manager Chip, the most joy
- 43:11Speaker 3: was when Crystal Palace was away from home because you know,
- 43:14Speaker 3: the table position doesn't do justice to how Crystal Palace
- 43:18Speaker 3: perform when they do a discipline performance away from home.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Use the pace of Sar to then you know, get
- 43:24Speaker 3: the counter going. So there was lots of reasons to
- 43:26Speaker 3: go for a Crystal Palace player. I hope it continues.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I do have some concerns though, like you mentioned, with
- 43:32Speaker 3: the Europe with the fatigue start to build up, but
- 43:34Speaker 3: it's early season for now, a lot of their players
- 43:37Speaker 3: are now resting. Mateta has no international football, so their
- 43:41Speaker 3: players will get a little bit of a break. I
- 43:43Speaker 3: think Munas is away with Columbia, Sar will be away
- 43:46Speaker 3: as well, But by and large, I think it's a
- 43:48Speaker 3: two week where it's not going to be midweek weekend
- 43:51Speaker 3: midweek weekend. Right, They're going to play two games over
- 43:53Speaker 3: the two weeks, so I think that that, you know,
- 43:55Speaker 3: international breaks come at a good time for a Crystal Palace.
- 43:58Speaker 3: I just think they're a good team, even more so
- 44:00Speaker 3: for people free hitting in Gimbek six like myself, because
- 44:03Speaker 3: you can just take out that Liverpool fixture that they
- 44:05Speaker 3: have in Gimbek six, So just lord up if you're
- 44:07Speaker 3: on that strategy.
- 44:08Speaker 1: They're the giant killers, though, prout the I'll go and
- 44:10Speaker 1: beat Liverpool three in ill. Yeah, I hear you, but
- 44:14Speaker 1: you're right. I go after Palace guys, and probably don't
- 44:18Speaker 1: go after not in a forest. I mean, these are
- 44:20Speaker 1: my biggest disappointment disappointment in my team. Certainly I went
- 44:23Speaker 1: double forest defense. That was a big error, Like they've
- 44:25Speaker 1: not kept a clean sheet yet, conceding three all late
- 44:28Speaker 1: to west Ham and that's Arsenal up next. The fixtures
- 44:30Speaker 1: are still good for Forest, but they're not keeping clean
- 44:33Speaker 1: sheets at the back. Sales has worked and he's making
- 44:35Speaker 1: lots of saves again he was doing that last year.
- 44:38Speaker 1: They were conceding chances in the second half of the
- 44:40Speaker 1: season especially, But then even in attack, I look at
- 44:42Speaker 1: players like Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs White, I'm seeing
- 44:45Speaker 1: these players not even get ninety minutes anymore. They used
- 44:48Speaker 1: to be ninety minute men. But the squad depth there
- 44:51Speaker 1: is there at Forest, Like you've got a bench of
- 44:53Speaker 1: like Macte, Hutchinson, Callum Wado and Eager Jay Zus, like
- 44:57Speaker 1: four really good attackers that will all come on. So
- 44:59Speaker 1: you don't have ninety minute pail in for the attackers,
- 45:02Speaker 1: you don't have clean sheet guarantee for the defenders.
- 45:05Speaker 2: That's just not as good this year.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Is I mean, they were fine until the eighty fifth
- 45:09Speaker 3: minute yesterday. All of them were getting were on bonus.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Cells was on three bonus. I think Morillo was on
- 45:15Speaker 3: one or two. I just don't know, like, is it
- 45:19Speaker 3: just differences in priorities or play style change or just
- 45:23Speaker 3: luck that they haven't got a single clean sheet so far.
- 45:26Speaker 3: The fixture is still there, especially if you're not playing
- 45:29Speaker 3: a free hit in Gamemick six home to Sunderland in
- 45:31Speaker 3: Game WEX six. Definitely keep them. Am I concerned medium term? Yes,
- 45:36Speaker 3: because the fixtures after Game Mex six actually are not
- 45:38Speaker 3: great at all. And so this is why I didn't
- 45:41Speaker 3: want to overload on Forest, because I feel if you
- 45:44Speaker 3: have too many forests, you know, for example, you mentioned
- 45:47Speaker 3: you have the triple up. You may be okay in
- 45:50Speaker 3: game Weex six without a chip, but then you will
- 45:52Speaker 3: need a chip to get rid of them at some
- 45:54Speaker 3: point that could be wild card. So it's it. It's
- 45:58Speaker 3: one of those things where you know, to get rid
- 46:00Speaker 3: of them or to deal with them, you might need
- 46:03Speaker 3: a chip one way or the other. In my case,
- 46:04Speaker 3: I'm going to just sell them and I've just got
- 46:07Speaker 3: the one, or I've got Anderson. I don't really count
- 46:09Speaker 3: it because he's my perma bench going forward from now on.
- 46:13Speaker 3: But I won't be playing Nottingham Forest Defenders after game
- 46:16Speaker 3: week six and I don't have Chris Wood because I
- 46:20Speaker 3: just think there is concerns there in terms of the manager,
- 46:23Speaker 3: be the players, the new signings and Europe, which is
- 46:25Speaker 3: always always very critical for teams that are that squad
- 46:29Speaker 3: isn't built up for midweek football, weekend weekard.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Last season's not in the forest. I think this year
- 46:35Speaker 1: is going to be Everton. And they were so convincing
- 46:39Speaker 1: again at the weekend, like looking really good upfront. They've
- 46:42Speaker 1: got and Die, Greenish and jews Behol all playing behind
- 46:45Speaker 1: the number nine. Now all three of them produce lots
- 46:48Speaker 1: of chances, They've got goal threat and they all play
- 46:50Speaker 1: with their socks down. That absolutely love that. They are
- 46:53Speaker 1: completely expressive and fun. And I own jews Behore. I
- 46:58Speaker 1: benched him and it really hurt the twelve points on
- 47:02Speaker 1: the bench because I was so close to starting him.
- 47:04Speaker 1: But I won't be doing that again. I wanted more
- 47:06Speaker 1: in my eleven. He's playing number ten, he's taking corners
- 47:08Speaker 1: and he's getting ninety minutes, a bit like Forrest. All
- 47:11Speaker 1: the other attackers are getting subbed off, but jews Beyhoe
- 47:14Speaker 1: ninety minutes every week. I'm very happy with him, but
- 47:17Speaker 1: it's Greedish the standout pick because he's looking like Greenish
- 47:21Speaker 1: five years ago.
- 47:22Speaker 3: I mean, don't we all love this? I mean, you know,
- 47:24Speaker 3: as a neutral watching Greenish happily playing football, getting attacking returns,
- 47:29Speaker 3: playing consistent football. It's it's just so nice. It's such
- 47:33Speaker 3: a nice story, and I hope that continues. Is he
- 47:37Speaker 3: the best pick in the team. I mean, at the moment,
- 47:40Speaker 3: it looks like he's creating everything, but he's not scoring everything.
- 47:43Speaker 3: He won the goal scorers right, So I think eventually,
- 47:47Speaker 3: between Better and Barry, whoever seals his number nine spot,
- 47:50Speaker 3: maybe it's neither if they keep rotating. But in Die
- 47:54Speaker 3: still to me looks like the best shout. He's still
- 47:56Speaker 3: I think, going to be on penalties. He's still going
- 47:58Speaker 3: to be the guy who takes a lot of shots
- 48:00Speaker 3: on short volume midfielder scoring goals is amazing, like we
- 48:03Speaker 3: talked about with Semeno and others in the past. So
- 48:07Speaker 3: I still like in Die. But then for budget options
- 48:10Speaker 3: five million five point one million, I think Dewsbury Holl
- 48:13Speaker 3: is perfect. I was very close to getting him. I
- 48:15Speaker 3: was so hot on him, but it was based on
- 48:17Speaker 3: one preseason. Ultimately I went for Rinders because I only
- 48:20Speaker 3: had one cheap midfielders slot at the time in Gambieck one.
- 48:23Speaker 3: But I was very close in Dewsbury Hall. I think
- 48:25Speaker 3: he's just a very nice pick.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Yeah, he's definitely up there for the best in class
- 48:30Speaker 1: at of five million, mids Sunland one at home again,
- 48:33Speaker 1: Leeds kept two clean sheets in two Like again, we're
- 48:36Speaker 1: seeing the newly promoted teams put up a fight. I
- 48:38Speaker 1: don't know if there's huge FPL interest in these teams,
- 48:40Speaker 1: but defenders, certainly from Leads, look like they'll keep some
- 48:42Speaker 1: clean sheet.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I think Leads defenders are great. Like Goodmunson has been
- 48:46Speaker 3: very good on bonus as well in the two clean
- 48:48Speaker 3: sheets that they've kept at home. If you can reliably
- 48:50Speaker 3: have somebody from Leeds for four point oh million who
- 48:54Speaker 3: you can say, you know what, I'm going to start
- 48:55Speaker 3: them in their home games, that's great. That's like a
- 48:58Speaker 3: lot of value that you can get out of that
- 49:00Speaker 3: one position if you only play them in the home games.
- 49:02Speaker 3: So let's see if it continues like with promoted teams
- 49:05Speaker 3: we've we've we've been here before where they start up
- 49:08Speaker 3: really strong and slowly they with their down and then
- 49:11Speaker 3: it becomes, you know, in the second half the season
- 49:13Speaker 3: not as great. So let's see. As we talked about
- 49:17Speaker 3: at the beginning of the show, I think I think
- 49:18Speaker 3: we're both at a little bit more bullish on Burnley
- 49:20Speaker 3: and leads. Initially we'll see with Sundron, but yeah, I
- 49:24Speaker 3: think there's some good budget gems. Think about bench boosts.
- 49:27Speaker 3: A lot of you you know have Estev or Goodmunson
- 49:30Speaker 3: or Rodon. I think these are all solid picks if
- 49:32Speaker 3: they have a home fixture to target them for a
- 49:34Speaker 3: bench post at some point if you wanted to do it.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, bench boosts to the game. We too.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I had a Stev and Debravka at home to Sunder
- 49:41Speaker 1: and they kept the clean sheets. So yeah, you can
- 49:43Speaker 1: target those good home fixtures and maybe have a little
- 49:46Speaker 1: wins mate.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Lovely chatting. I guess we're we just kick back and
- 49:49Speaker 2: relaxing now for a couple of weeks. We'll look it.
- 49:51Speaker 1: We won't make any moves, so what's the international right,
- 49:53Speaker 1: will think about our long term strategy and then as
- 49:56Speaker 1: that deadline draws closer, we'll be looking in moves. But
- 49:59Speaker 1: good to know what we're looking to do now and
- 50:01Speaker 1: see if that's still relevant in ten days time. So yeah,
- 50:04Speaker 1: looking forward to chatting again soon.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, And look, I mean there's also the element
- 50:09Speaker 3: of transfer window, right, some key moves could happen between
- 50:12Speaker 3: now and the next deadline. I've got Strand Larson, for example,
- 50:16Speaker 3: in my team nervously watching any tweets. So it's those
- 50:21Speaker 3: times where yeah, sit back, listen to you know that,
- 50:25Speaker 3: what's happening in the transfer window? Watch the highlights again
- 50:28Speaker 3: of the Premier League matches. Are there any trends that
- 50:30Speaker 3: you've picked up? But other than that, like you mentioned,
- 50:33Speaker 3: you know, kick back, take a little bit of a break.
- 50:35Speaker 3: It's been a world will start to the Premier League
- 50:38Speaker 3: and yeah, if you're not planning to wildcard, then think
- 50:42Speaker 3: about your chip strategy as well.
- 50:44Speaker 2: There will be.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Boredom kicking in and managers that wildcard for the sake
- 50:46Speaker 1: of it. They'll also be managers wildcarding because they need to.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And I'm sure Kelly, Jules and Sam Well on Thursday,
- 50:51Speaker 1: I've got no doubt. On the pod they'll be touching
- 50:53Speaker 1: on the all important ship strategy, including how to know
- 50:57Speaker 1: if it's the right time to wildcard.
- 50:58Speaker 3: And if you haven't already done so, don't forget to
- 51:00Speaker 3: join the FBL pod Mini League. The code is x
- 51:04Speaker 3: y six x p l Joanny. It's been great chatting man,
- 51:08Speaker 3: enjoy the break. Good luck in game week four
- 51:11Speaker 2: You too, mate, I'll see See you lady guys here
