- 0:15Speaker 1: Music Alright, y'all, we are ready to go, we are live.
- 1:45Speaker 1: This is so good.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Actually, this is pre-recorded, y'all.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Because, I had to get on Indie Schedule.
- 1:51Speaker 1: She had to get on mine.
- 1:52Speaker 1: We are so blessed.
- 1:53Speaker 1: This is so great.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being here.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I really, really, really appreciate you coming.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Oh, thank you for having me.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I appreciate you.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I don't want to misspeak to me, thank you.
- 2:07Speaker 1: This is so good.
- 2:08Speaker 1: So this is actually wrapping up a limited run series that we have called Wildflowers.
- 2:13Speaker 1: We have been talking to women who have gone through extraordinary things in their lives, whether it's adversity or some level of success or just really walking through faith, faith on the job, faith at work, etc.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So I'm really excited to just have you come on.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I do want to do a shout out even though this is pre-recorded to all the folks who watch us, because we do have a lot of folks who catch us on the replay street.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So shout out to all of the folks on Facebook, linkedin, twitter, youtube I know I'm missing somebody but also especially on Paradec Live TV, which we will run, and there's about 6 million of so subscribers over there.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So we're really excited that someone's going to get blessed from your testimony, which is just kind of why we're here.
- 2:59Speaker 1: So those are the fam, those are the people on the street.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And also a quick shout out to my road manager, nate Todd, because he really was instrumental in making sure Indy was here, and Wildflowers is a part of just an amazing testament to some of the work that he's also been doing.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So I do want to give a quick shout out to Nate for everything that he's doing to support us and women like us.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We're just kind of on these streets, kind of getting our you know, get our word out.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 3:32Speaker 2: He's a great inspiration, great person to talk to, just sheds a lot of light on different things.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So shout out to Nate See, I did that, all right, all right.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Okay, my name is Indy Schaefer.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I am a wife of a 27 year marriage.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I am a mother of four children and of the four of them are boy, girl twins.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And right now, currently, I just recently walked into my I guess my dream job.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Oh so it's real estate full time.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I've been doing it on a part time basis, working for another company on a part time basis, and just recently, in October, it's turned full circle.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I was in the waiting, or told me to sit still because I was being anxious and I'm like I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm like not yet, I need you to just sit still and just wait.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And as I did that and I waited, it came full circle and my job let me go.
- 4:46Speaker 2: But it was a blessing because I didn't leave prematurely.
- 4:49Speaker 2: So I was blessed with having a severance before I left, the bonus that I had earned I was going to still receive those and by being going into the holidays, I was just, you know, I was not, I was just.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I was like smiling inside and my managers were like are you sure you're okay?
- 5:08Speaker 2: I said this is a blessing.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I said, you know, I've seen it coming, I just didn't know when.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And so now I get to do what I've been wanting to do for the last few years, and so I'm ready.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Wow, this is so powerful Y'all, so so, so those of y'all who watch me, you know I don't talk to to guests beforehand to do any cheat sheet things because I just I just let the Lord work and do his thing.
- 5:37Speaker 1: So you'd mentioned in the waiting and I'm not sure for those of y'all know that was one of the messages.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It was a sermon that, or sermon that I gave at a church in October, october 28th.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Call in the way.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Literally on the 26th.
- 5:52Speaker 2: October 26th.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So that was that was that was an amazing message that went out of and it was two women and it was really about, you know, the period that you do that time frame you're in when you're waiting to hear from God about your next step, and you know what do you do while you're in that.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And I think what I really appreciate also just the, just the jewels that she's already dropping y'all is as you were in the church.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You know you're in the church, as you were in the way your heart was already open for whatever he had for you and so when it showed up, when the opportunity showed up, you were you know it was, I want to say, easier.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But how did you know that, okay, I wanted to do real estate part time.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Now I have the opportunity, but how did you know that this was the opportune time for you to make that shift?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Because January of this year I actually moved to a new brokerage with the intention I was in January of the third this year with the intention of moving into real estate full time.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Wow, and two days after that, so maybe January 5th my current employer offered me another position and it was in the sales realm, but not in the sales team, but helping in the sales, and I thought it was going to still be a part time and so I was like I'm going to get a position as well.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And I ended up being more of a full time position because I worked on every weekend and so with that it was just like.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So I was like, okay, so I didn't do much real estate in that period of time, January till now, Like I did the previous two years, and I was just like okay, what's going on, what's happening?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Why didn't I, why wasn't I productive this year, Like I was the last two years?
- 7:35Speaker 2: And there's a lesson.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I had to sit still but I was complaining a lot, and then I had to humble myself and I had to pray and in that, in my prayer, it was like I need you to stay where you are, because there's a lesson in what I have for you.
- 7:51Speaker 2: You're not ready yet, and in that lesson I had to.
- 7:55Speaker 2: He had me learning another skill that would only better my current, to put me in a position to where I am now, which is better what I do.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So another skill set that I needed, and so I had to sit and wait and learn that skill, to be patient with it and stop complaining, and that is stop complaining, that's so, that's so powerful that you're saying that, because that's that's a lot of the a lot of times we are uncomfortable, so we were comfortable learning that thing or waiting for the Lord to, you know, open that door or close that door.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And he's saying, no, I need you to chill If you don't stop.
- 8:35Speaker 2: So I was like, okay, I hear you, I hear you was coming from me, from everywhere, for my husband as well, from my best friend that's in real estate.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And then, of course, my walk.
- 8:44Speaker 2: And so I was just like, okay, I just go and be happy and do what I'm supposed to do when I'm supposed to do it.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And you know, stay on the course.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And it just when it popped up, of course it was, you know, surprise.
- 8:57Speaker 2: The day that it happened, I was just like, okay, but I was not scared, I wasn't in any tears, I wasn't.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I just wasn't scared, I wasn't, I wasn't sad.
- 9:10Speaker 2: That's what I'm looking for.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I was not sad.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I was like, wow, not told him that probably shouldn't have.
- 9:15Speaker 2: But I was just like, oh, this is a blessing, thank you.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I said it's unfortunate.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I've been here a long time, I've made a lot of friends, we've lived life together, but it's time.
- 9:27Speaker 2: There was nowhere else for me to go in the company, so I hit, I hit that window like there's no more growth there.
- 9:33Speaker 2: So I know it's coming in time, but for where I wanted to be in real estate at this season in my life, I had to sit and wait and let him release me into it, to open that door.
- 9:44Speaker 2: So that was definitely a lesson hard learned, because again have to stop complaining and be quiet and be grateful that I did have a job.
- 9:54Speaker 2: You know, I could have not had a job at all, you know.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So I had to humble myself, be humble.
- 10:00Speaker 1: What do you say?
- 10:00Speaker 1: We have a large population of veteran men and women and military spouses that watch our shows, and so there's always some kind of churn or constant change, but there is still that angst.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Like you seem to have figured out how not to freak out when God is moving you out right so can you share or give some advice to, especially women who are in that transition?
- 10:28Speaker 1: Can you give some advice on what they can do to kind of help them work through these types of changes, life changes.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Life changes.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Sure, I would say that, whatever's on your heart, give it to God and let Him guide you through it.
- 10:46Speaker 2: And so watch those steps, listen for Him, listen to those around you.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Sometime, you know, because you'll have those ones that come in and say, oh, you shouldn't do that, that's not going to work out.
- 10:57Speaker 2: You have the haters, as they call it right, yes, or you know, those are not always, for you had some of that as well, but I just again had to bring those requests and the things on my heart that I wanted to do, and if they fell in line with what God has me to do and that's the way I would present it Like put it on the line, write it down and just release it, and just release it, and he will do what he wants to do in your life and what you know he can give you desires of your heart if they fall in what he has for you as well.
- 11:31Speaker 2: And I say that to say this as well when I was pregnant with my twins, they told me they were going to be premature and one was going to have more issues than the other.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 11:42Speaker 2: But during that whole process, I was just talking to God and said hey, there's nothing I can do.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm holding these babies, but until they get here there's nothing I can do.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And the morning of my last ultrasound, before they said they were going to schedule my C-section, I saw my baby B, my son's heartbeat, and I knew immediately.
- 12:05Speaker 2: When I saw the screen, I said oh, I'm having my twins today and I already had two.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And I said, ok, lord, and I let it go.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I said, all right, well, we'll figure out everything when they get here.
- 12:15Speaker 2: And I was just a relief off of me stress and because there was nothing more I could do right, I've just the mother faking the children, and until they got here there was nothing more I could do physically or mentally.
- 12:31Speaker 2: So I released it to God and they were born.
- 12:34Speaker 2: They were little but they were healthy and strong, and I just did everything the doctors told me to do, that I needed to do to get them up to par to where they were going to be healthy children.
- 12:46Speaker 2: And that's what I did.
- 12:47Speaker 2: But I released it to God, honestly, and that just took a weight off of myself and I just follow protocol, what I was supposed to do to get them here and keep them healthy and strong.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So what role does?
- 13:00Speaker 1: And thank you for that, because there's again there's a lot of moms listening to us who could benefit from how we do, what we do, because we are not super women.
- 13:11Speaker 2: No, not at all, my God, you know.
- 13:14Speaker 1: What role would you say that your face played in your career?
- 13:20Speaker 2: I would say a big role.
- 13:20Speaker 2: You know you're dealing with adversity.
- 13:24Speaker 2: There's very few minorities in the company.
- 13:27Speaker 2: To me it was a daily walk.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I had an hour 10-minute commute to work, so that's when my crazy worship was.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Every morning, when I read my word, get there, if I had a scripture that I like, I'd put it on the bottom of my computer, write it out and I'd leave them there and then some of my coworkers would come by, leave a little comment sometime and it's like oh, you know, hey, the X, y, z.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So my faith is daily, definitely daily.
- 13:54Speaker 2: That got me through the hard times, sad times when I was bored, but yeah, that part, but it was.
- 14:03Speaker 2: It's a daily walk for me, like I said, and I get in my car, like I feel offered on the weekends when I'm like I'm not in my car going to work.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I'm not ever praise.
- 14:12Speaker 2: You know, do my praise and worship not just again on Sunday, but literally.
- 14:16Speaker 2: It was Monday through Friday, every single day, sometimes on the way home as well.
- 14:19Speaker 2: So that's my walkers daily.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I love that.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I'll say last five, six years, yeah, yeah, every day.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Wow, I love that, because I have.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You have this thing where I talk to people about coming out of their prayer closets, because some of us have the most beautiful prayer closets you know I'm like listen don't, you know, don't, don't.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Don't get misguided in thinking that you have to have this.
- 14:48Speaker 1: You know, the temple is the prayer closet.
- 14:51Speaker 1: He can do, too, at the grocery store while you're standing in line Exactly.
- 14:59Speaker 2: You know it's like, hey, I got a wide listen to music or just these other different things where I can feed myself spiritually without distractions, really, you know, besides the road, but just distractions from the outside in that space.
- 15:12Speaker 2: So I truly appreciate that.
- 15:15Speaker 2: And so now, because I don't have that commute every morning, I do make it my first thing to do in the morning before I get started.
- 15:22Speaker 2: So just transition a little bit.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So we it goes down to we got a fine time.
- 15:28Speaker 1: We got a fine time towards.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It is a priority.
- 15:31Speaker 1: First thing I do in the morning is, before I even speak to my husband, is I have something that I say to God.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I bless the family before I even get a call.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's just like, yeah, those that are here have a daughter who's off at college.
- 15:44Speaker 2: So I was like bless, you know, everyone in the household near and far, and so XYZ, and then, and then I get out the bed, you know, but I do bless my family and my home before I get my feet on the ground every morning, amen, that's.
- 15:59Speaker 1: that's just say y'all again.
- 16:00Speaker 1: We're trying to get some jewels.
- 16:02Speaker 1: This is how we do it.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:05Speaker 1: So when you're thinking about 2024, what does that look like for you?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Because now you know, you've gone through your, your, your inner transitional space.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You're obviously a woman who is trusted God.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Again, you know, I like to bring on people who've been through things so that we can learn from them.
- 16:20Speaker 1: We're trying to, you know, we're all trying to grow and learn together.
- 16:24Speaker 1: What does 2024 look like for you and how do you prepare yourself for that?
- 16:30Speaker 2: So I have to have a plan.
- 16:31Speaker 2: So I have a plan for my home life, a plan, a business plan for my business life.
- 16:36Speaker 2: So for 2024, and I have full support from my spouse, which is he's always been very supportive, but it's a little different Because it's just like I finally get to do what I want to do she's like, okay, let's roll with.
- 16:50Speaker 2: And I was like, hey, I tell them, we're not going to miss the beat.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna still do my take care of the part of the house that I take care of, no matter what.
- 16:59Speaker 2: You know what is going, but I'm going to still take care of that.
- 17:02Speaker 2: So I don't want him to have to worry like they have to pick up any slack.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I just let him know that it I'm gonna continue to do what I do and do more.
- 17:09Speaker 2: So for 2024, looks for me is growing.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I have a little more freedom to be in my children's lives and activities, do a little traveling with my husband and just building our family faith back up to get back into church.
- 17:27Speaker 2: So since COVID we were doing like the online thing and then you're kind of off track, and then also when that job, who's sent it itself to me.
- 17:34Speaker 2: This past January I worked every Sunday and that bothered me.
- 17:38Speaker 2: It was like it was still like a four hour shift, but it was in between like where I could go to church and then sometime it worked this Saturday.
- 17:45Speaker 2: So it really didn't work out on a Saturday to go to Sunday either.
- 17:47Speaker 2: So that really bothered me a lot, even though I wasn't going, but even like just to get online to go to church.
- 17:53Speaker 2: It was just kind of a thing and I was like I really would like to go back to church and my kids are like Mom when we're going back to church and so that will be our 2024.
- 18:01Speaker 2: And so since then I've been to church every Sunday and if not, I miss one Sunday.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But I did watch it online the morning of.
- 18:08Speaker 2: But I'm making it a habit for the family to get back into going to church and not just watching it online and doing life, you know in God.
- 18:17Speaker 2: so that's what my 2024 plan and dream is, and you know we'll work through it however it comes.
- 18:25Speaker 2: But I have something to look forward to.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'm very happy and excited about what God has for me.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Amen, y'all this is so good.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So, before we have got one more question, I want to ask you before we wrap, and I wanted to know, as a mom, what do you want to be known for by your kids?
- 18:44Speaker 1: It's different.
- 18:45Speaker 1: You know, as a business woman, and you're going to rock it, and you know we're going to be following her career in real estate.
- 18:50Speaker 1: By the way, y'all, we have to have you come back on our regular schedule program so we can do this.
- 18:58Speaker 2: So I, you know, I show up and say, hey, I'm doing what I was hoping for you to do.
- 19:03Speaker 1: So, absolutely Exactly.
- 19:04Speaker 1: So we're going to have you back, so we can do that.
- 19:05Speaker 1: But what do you want your kids and you know, again, a lot of us talk about legacy and generational blessings, all that thing but what do you want your kids to say about you, as you're kind of looking back on your own legacy, I would love for my kids to say my mom loved hard, listened and loved life.
- 19:31Speaker 2: She loved on us.
- 19:32Speaker 2: She, you know, she loved the Lord and I hope that they see the things that I am doing and they take it on in their life as well and, you know, show them how to handle.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Hopefully I was an example to show them how I handle situations that or that adversities I came through, but it showed through faith and not through just emotion, and I love that.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I don't know, but you know.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I just hope that they know that I showed love, compassion and the love of the Lord and so that they can pass that on to their children and their spouses as well.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Oh, I love that.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Well, you know, videos don't go away, so when your kids are watching this, they'll go.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yeah, she actually did those things.
- 20:24Speaker 1: She did all those things.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Indy, I am so grateful again for you coming on and just talking with us and blessing us.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You know, I said before in the green room, if one person gets blessed, I would have done what the Lord told me to do, and so I'm just really, I'm definitely blessed by this.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So I'm definitely one of those ones already.
- 20:41Speaker 1: So thank you so much for coming on and, like I definitely want to have you come back next year and talk to us about business and just kind of catch up and see how things are going.
- 20:51Speaker 1: So we're going to run the outro, tell these people by and they'll hang out in the green room for a couple of minutes.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Okay, thank you, thank you.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Appreciate it, shelley.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you.
- 21:03Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Thank you, shelley.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
