- 0:39anyone who gets offended by learning about something new as
- 0:41well. Tonight we'll be talking about
- 0:44moon water. It's trending on TikTok.
- 0:46It's been used by witches, alchemists, farmers and healers.
- 0:49Some say it's holy, some say it's witchcraft, some say it's
- 0:53total fucking nonsense. We'll dive into that today and
- 0:57find out where you lie. So what's really going on in
- 1:01that glowing jar under the moonlight?
- 1:03Let's find out. Trigger warning or content

- 1:08spirituality, Pagan rituals with witchcraft's history, and micro
- 1:13misconceptions around evil or satanic beliefs.

- 2:58She can say that that if not. NAR, you can.
- 3:01You can if you, if there's something that you want to talk
- 3:04to me about that is not personal and is more like just about the
- 3:07podcast, absolutely you can reach out to me on my business
- 3:11pages. If you have my personal page,
- 3:13you can reach out to me at any point in time.
- 3:16Respectfully. I don't give my personal page
- 3:18out to people who whom I haven't met in person because I am
- 3:22sensitive about what I share. Yeah, and if you really want to
- 3:24ask a little question and she already has just told you, if
- 3:27she doesn't know you don't message her, reach out to me.
- 3:29I will ask a little the question.
- 3:31Absolutely. And then we could do it that way
- 3:32too, because I don't give a shit people.
- 3:34I get messages all the time. I'm just weird.
- 3:36Yeah, no, it's not weird. It's being protective.
- 3:37Yeah, 100%. I'm weird about it.
- 3:39I mean, yeah. So let's get into our first
- 3:42little segment here, the origins and early beliefs.
- 3:44Now I did the research for all and illusions.
- 3:46This is something new for me. I have never done this.
- 3:48This is I always let other people do it.
- 3:50So if I'm incorrect or I'm wrong or my research is not perfect,
- 3:55don't jump down my throat. I'm trying my best.
- 3:57OK, we're going to dive into some other older stuff.
- 4:00I. Don't know if he's talking to
- 4:01you as much as he's talking to me.
- 4:02It's. A little bit of both.
- 4:03It's a little bit of both. But also too, we're going to be
- 4:06diving into some other topics that we've tried before in the
- 4:08past on the podcast that people kind of roasted us on.
- 4:11I'm looking at you, Aleister Crowley.
- 4:13So don't give me cut me a break. I'm trying and these podcasts
- 4:17are essentially the entire premise of this is me learning
- 4:19about people and things I'm not too familiar with, right?
- 4:21And then I can decide if I'm I'm into.
- 4:23Things you're interested? In we did talk last episode
- 4:26about vampires. I, I, I think I lie in the camp
- 4:29where I don't think they're real.
- 4:30I didn't really get into that last episode, but I do like the
- 4:33pop culture aspect of it. So we're going to learn about
- 4:35moon water. This is something I've learned
- 4:37since dating you about moon water.
- 4:39So I will kind of talk about what I've researched and you you
- 4:42would tell people how you make moon water things that you're
- 4:44into and then we'll go from there.
- 4:45OK. Absolutely.
- 4:47All right, origins and early beliefs, the idea.
- 4:51Oh yes, yes. So we are recording this on Day
- 4:53of the Dead. So we recorded a bunch of
- 4:55episodes in one day. So as you guys are watching
- 4:57this, it's all done the same day.
- 4:58Just because I changed my T-shirt does not mean it's a
- 5:00different day change. My beanie, yeah.
- 5:02So we do have daily dead candles.
- 5:04Last episode we dedicated the two people that we wanted to
- 5:08maybe invite them onto the podcast spiritually or in the
- 5:12afterlife to come hang out with us and or you can do the same in
- 5:17remembrance or you can just come with us in solidarity of wishing
- 5:21our past friends good vibes. I guess I don't know where my
- 5:27lighter went. It's underneath here.
- 5:28So do you want to go first this time?
- 5:31Sure, I'm going to actually dedicate this to one of my
- 5:35favorite celebrities that passed away, but it's someone that I
- 5:41always think about. So this is going to go out to
- 5:44Alan Rickman. Wonderful.
- 5:48Always. Always I I like him in that
- 5:53movie. He's my favorite part of the
- 5:54Harry Potter movies. Oh, he was still problematic as
- 5:57a character. The character was still
- 5:58problematic, but I love he's a great actor.
- 6:01Alan Rickman as an actor. The CBGB movie is one of my
- 6:05favorite. He was so good in that.
- 6:07I'm going to dedicate this one. I didn't really think of it
- 6:10because you just kind of hit me with it, so I didn't have it
- 6:12fresh in my brain. This is a moon water episode.
- 6:15Who do I think would appreciate this or who can I give a little
- 6:19dedication to? That's no, I think, you know,
- 6:21even if it's not Day of the Dead, I kind of like this of
- 6:23kind of shouting just. Remembering someone.
- 6:25Just doing just because of the the movie, I think it's good to
- 6:29bring up someone's name and remembrance, you know, OK, some
- 6:33movie will Coco it, you know what I mean?
- 6:35Yeah. I don't think.
- 6:38I thought you were talking about a celebrity from a movie.
- 6:41That's why. OK.
- 6:43Jeez, who's? Are you going off of a
- 6:46celebrity? No, I'm trying to think of a
- 6:48like a person I know that passed away that would possibly be into
- 6:52this, but I don't really know a lot of people that were into
- 6:56moon water. I will.
- 7:00All right, I got 1. I don't know if they'd be into
- 7:02the topic, but just someone who I really, really care about and
- 7:04I'm I'm bummed they're no longer here.
- 7:06My friend Kelly, I'm not going to get into the last names or
- 7:09anything, but she was tragically killed in a car accident way too
- 7:12young, left behind one of my best friends, my older brother
- 7:16and and and some kids and they're still very young.
- 7:19But man, was she, she was the rock like when it came to me and
- 7:24the guy's mom, you know, she's no longer with us either.
- 7:26I'll probably do another episode for her in the future.
- 7:28But she would have not been into any of these topics because she
- 7:31was a pastor and everyone was very Christian.
- 7:33So I don't even know if Kelly would even be into this stuff.
- 7:36But they, they always knew who I was and that I like to explore
- 7:38and learn about different things.
- 7:39But she was just a great human being, a great person.
- 7:43More people. I wish you know, I don't want to
- 7:45put out too much personal information about them with last
- 7:47names and everything like that. But man, she was amazing.
- 7:49She was the closest thing to mom that we had when mom was gone.
- 7:53She really held us. She held a lot of people
- 7:54together because she was just a solid rock and strong woman,
- 7:59just powerful and just the idea of just holding it down.
- 8:03So yeah, this one is is for you, Kelly.
- 8:05Love you and hope, hope all is well on the other side.
- 8:09All right, so let's get into it here.
- 8:14The idea of moon water. It'll be fine.
- 8:17It'll, it'll, it'll figure itself out.
- 8:19The idea of moon water didn't start on TikTok, unfortunately,
- 8:22Lily. It began long before.
- 8:25Then Dang. It but I think because you're
- 8:28you cover your face or you you turn too far.
- 8:31But yes, so the idea of moon water, I'll wait till you fix
- 8:34your camera. So I'm trying.
- 8:36To get it to get. My face back up a little bit.
- 8:38You're too close. There you go.
- 8:38I. Had to get into the.
- 8:40Frame Okay, the idea of moon water didn't start on TikTok.
- 8:43It began with the tides for the ancient people.
- 8:46The moons pool on the oceans weren't just it wasn't just
- 8:50science, it was magic. The moon can move the oceans,
- 8:53and surely it can move us. Ancient farmers used the the
- 8:57lunar calendars to plant and harvest.
- 8:59Middle medieval Europeans collected morning dew under the
- 9:02moonlight for beautiful potions or for beauty potions.
- 9:06Alchemists inked and inked the moon to silver, the purest
- 9:11metal, and believe lunar rays charged matter with purity, and
- 9:16folk healers prescribed moon soaked water for fever,
- 9:19infertility or spiritual cleansing.
- 9:22Over time, these ideas evolved from mythicism to modern
- 9:25spirituality, eventually landing on TikTok as hashtag moon water
- 9:30with millions of hashtags following.
- 9:32So what draws people back to just simple rituals like the
- 9:37world being ruled by with? Sorry?
- 9:39What draws people back to the simplest rituals like in this
- 9:43world ruled by science? Is it faith, Nostalgia.
- 9:46Are just humans needing a little bit of magic and this craziness
- 9:51that we call the world? I'm, I'm, I think it's a little
- 9:55bit of all of it, to be honest. I think that, I mean, as a
- 9:59child, I think that I always wanted to believe that magic was
- 10:04real from like a fictional standpoint until I realized and
- 10:11and sorry, not sorry, I kind of got to an age where I was like
- 10:16the Bible's fiction. So why can't magic?
- 10:19Like if the Bible is real, then why can't magic be real too?
- 10:23And then I kind of just, it was a long, long journey to where I
- 10:28got to where I was, but kind of like finding my own faith with
- 10:33it. Like I think that I found the
- 10:38getting into astrology, like there is a lot of science into
- 10:42it and there is like tracking where the stars are and where
- 10:44the moon is and the different phases of the moon and things
- 10:47like that. And it was, it's kind of is like
- 10:50everything is in a cycle and everything happens in a cycle.
- 10:54And I was noticing like certain under certain moon phases, I'd
- 11:00be happier and other certain moon phases, like my depression
- 11:03would come back harder and things like that.
- 11:05And it, it seemed kind of silly, but then at the same time it was
- 11:08really making sense. And I kind of that like just
- 11:11dove deep, dove into it and I went off with it.
- 11:14And I think that me personally, I use moon water and a lot of
- 11:18different things. I was using moon water in my
- 11:20plants and noticing that my plants were looking healthier.
- 11:22I was putting moon water in my bath to shut up.
- 11:25Don't even make that face. Here we go.
- 11:28Here we go. Her plans are just thirsty and
- 11:31she just remembered to feed them because the fucking moon told.
- 11:34Her. But maybe it's what I charged,
- 11:36maybe because the moon was or because my water was charged by
- 11:39the moon and the crystals and everything else I put in my
- 11:41moon. Yeah, maybe it was the minerals
- 11:45in the crystals that I put into my moon water.
- 11:47It's very possible, yeah. But I was also putting moon
- 11:50water into like I would make moon water without any oils or
- 11:56herbs or anything like that. And I would cook with it or I
- 12:00would like, I would meditate with when I would make my tea in
- 12:03the morning and I would put like a little bit of my water in my
- 12:05teapot. And I would just like as I'm
- 12:08stirring my tea bag in my tea, I would meditate.
- 12:11And I would say the same thing when.
- 12:12We're over. Right.
- 12:13Absolutely. But like it felt better.
- 12:16My tea tasted better to me. Like, do you know what I mean?
- 12:18Like it it, it just made me feel better.
- 12:21Yeah, I don't mind people's spirituality or doing this or
- 12:24people latching into like on TikTok of people finding these
- 12:28different things. The world's scary, the world's
- 12:30terrible. The world's full of people
- 12:32trying to con everybody and trying to do all this thing.
- 12:34So if if someone if it gives someone a little escape on for
- 12:36it. But I, I do struggle when it
- 12:39comes to people using this as like the snake oil salesman
- 12:43stupid shit are like I don't mind if people listen to tarot
- 12:47card readings or if you want to go to a medium or you want to go
- 12:49to a psychic, live your life. But also like you have to also
- 12:52kind of be careful that people are just doing this possibly for
- 12:55money and they could be steering you the wrong way.
- 12:57And you should take it with a grain of salt.
- 12:59Don't base your life off of someone's opinion because they
- 13:02they have some mythicism that they say they may or may not
- 13:04have. That's where I get a little
- 13:07confused where someone's like, hey, I know you're going through
- 13:10this really horrible disease or mental health problem, but hey,
- 13:13here's some moon water. It'll fix you.
- 13:15Like no, you should probably still.
- 13:16It's going to say it's going to fix you, but it's like, hey,
- 13:19maybe this sort of help you feel a little.
- 13:21Bit sure, if you're going to use it as a maybe a little bit of a
- 13:24mental, the mind stronger, the mind is stronger than you think.
- 13:28And if this gives you a little bit of a mental boost to make
- 13:30you feel good, awesome. But maybe don't throw away your
- 13:33prescriptions or what your doctors are saying.
- 13:35And I think sometimes people get a little too caught up.
- 13:38And I think, yeah. So I will say that I do think
- 13:42that there are maybe I don't want to say that anyone one
- 13:48person's disease is any less severe or more severe than
- 13:51others. However, some symptoms can be a
- 13:54lot more severe than others. And I would say that people who
- 13:56are having symptoms that or maybe having, I don't know what
- 14:04the ailments of something that can't be seen.
- 14:07Yeah, try moon water. Maybe it'll help you feel
- 14:09better. Maybe it won't.
- 14:11Well, here's. But if it if it is something
- 14:14that you're like, hey, I'm on prescription drugs and I've been
- 14:16on these prescription drugs for 19 years and somebody told me to
- 14:21try moon water and throw everything else away.
- 14:23Maybe don't, maybe don't. Maybe don't.
- 14:25Do that just. Yet right Consultant.
- 14:27Professional and then see where it goes, yeah.
- 14:30The lady. The lady who lives out of her
- 14:32van next to the Walmart. Should you just add the moon
- 14:34water to that already? Sure.
- 14:38So moon water around the world, India, the Hindu traditions, the
- 14:43moon water deity Chandera. Chandera.
- 14:48Chandra. Chandra, thank you.
- 14:50Representation of emotion, fertility and nourishment.
- 14:53During festivals, worshippers drink the water after gazing at
- 14:56the moon for blessings. The sacred nectar armarite is
- 15:01mythically connected to the moonlight, divine and life
- 15:04giving. The indigenous of North America
- 15:07tribes named each moon after nature.
- 15:09Wolf, strawberry, corn to be some examples.
- 15:13Moon blessing water was sprinkled on crops the sick for
- 15:17healing or balance. Some used it to bless newborns,
- 15:21connecting lifestyles to lunar cycles in ancient Greece and
- 15:25Rome, Artemis and Celine, the goddess of the moon tied to
- 15:31purity, fertility and water. So it's kind of wild that like
- 15:34Greece and Rome use the moon for fertility and purifying and also
- 15:39India and they didn't have phones or.
- 15:42Well, that's going to like. But that's also because the
- 15:45woman's body mimics the moon cycle.
- 15:47A menstrual cycle is 28th 28 days long, which or a typical.
- 15:53It's just cool to me how cultures kind of.
- 15:54But I think that. Think the same way to kind of
- 15:57figure that. Out the moon was always
- 15:58worshipped like it was a it was a it was a deity in many
- 16:01different cultures as well. Sure, but you have to also think
- 16:04with. Not just.
- 16:05Zero communication between cultures.
- 16:07And they found the same way of, hey, this connects to this and
- 16:10we should try this. The moon gives us this 100%.
- 16:13Yeah, I think it's kind of cool. Hectate.
- 16:17The goddess of which Hectate? The goddess of whichever.
- 16:21Yeah. Received liberations at
- 16:25crossroads. Thank you.
- 16:27Water, milk and wine. If I fuck up a word, please jump
- 16:30right in and correct me, because I don't.
- 16:31I'm still I'm. Once again.
- 16:32I'm also learning China. The Moon Festival celebrates yin
- 16:36energy, cool, balanced and feminine.
- 16:39Once again, it's linking it up. Taos the Moon.
- 16:44Charged water is the way to balance inner energy during
- 16:49meditation. Easter.
- 16:51Taoism. Sorry, I was.
- 16:54Catching up Taoist. Thank you.
- 16:55Middle Eastern folklore moonlit do was collected for love or
- 17:01luck, charms folk believed and not religion, but emphasizing
- 17:05romance, not evil. Across cultures, moon plus
- 17:09moonlight equals purification. The details differ but the
- 17:12symbolism is the same. Reflection, renewal, and rhythm
- 17:16So what do these traditions tell us about the human connection to
- 17:19cycles, lunar or like otherwise? We kind of kind of touched on
- 17:22that there a little bit of just like linking femininity to the
- 17:26moon and lunar cycles and. Well, so yeah, as I was saying,
- 17:30I, I think that a lot of things as far as women's bodies go
- 17:36actually mimic the moon in in the moon cycle in lunar phases
- 17:40as well as like the seasons do as well.
- 17:43The seasons change with the moon, as you were saying, with
- 17:46the each moon was given a different name, the harvest moon
- 17:51and the corn moon and things like that.
- 17:53But the lunar cycle is also very much the driving force of how
- 17:59our crops were grown as well. Like it's not just when the
- 18:02sunlight's going, but it's when the eclipses are going and when
- 18:06you're able to harvest within that.
- 18:07Like a lot of life is given by the moon.
- 18:10Yeah, well, let's get into our next segment, which is
- 18:13practically useless. Throughout history, from beauty
- 18:16to blessings, moon water uses evolved.
- 18:19I'm sorry. Moon water uses evolved with
- 18:22human needs. Ancient Greek women washed in
- 18:25moonlight do for eternal beauty. European herbalists used it to
- 18:29cleanse wounds. Farmer sprinkled it on seeds
- 18:31before planting. Victorian spiritist,
- 18:34Spiritualist. Use it in seances for clear
- 18:37communication. Today it's rebranded for more
- 18:39modern self-care. Add to baths, spray and room for
- 18:43cleansing energy drink small amounts for mindfulness water.
- 18:46Plans for growth base use in skin care or yes, cocktails in
- 18:51moon water and ice cubes, a beer company that we support uses
- 18:56yeah, intention and some, I don't know why they use moon
- 18:59water, but they use intention and stuff like that with their,
- 19:02with their beers. Pillar, Uber and company.
- 19:05Alyssa is very much into that as well.
- 19:06I think it's a cool little element that people may not even
- 19:09realize when they're indulging, which I think is kind of fun.
- 19:13She actually is someone who I I was kind of, because I know
- 19:19there are a lot of skeptics out there.
- 19:20And as you were saying before of like, yeah, you could, anyone
- 19:24can just throw water in a bottle and say it's moon water.
- 19:28And I did something to it and whatever.
- 19:30I was very like hesitant. I when I had my first
- 19:32marketplace that I was going to sell my moon water and Alyssa
- 19:36was, I was working at Pillar Guru and that's where I had my
- 19:39first marketplace and I was talking with Alyssa and I was
- 19:42showing her everything that I brought in and I was going to
- 19:45give her a bottle just because I worked with her.
- 19:47I love her and her and another friend that comes in there all
- 19:51the time, Sam, I had had bottles set to the side for them and
- 19:54then bottles that I was going to sell as well.
- 19:56And I was like kind of doubting myself.
- 19:59Like, I don't know if it's really you're pretty.
- 20:00Much just selling the cost of the bottle.
- 20:02Yeah, yeah. But yeah, basically you're.
- 20:05Just making your money back on the bottle.
- 20:07But I also wanted to give that energy out like that's kind of
- 20:12like, you know, and my my business name is Witchcrafts by
- 20:16Lily. That is kind of what I market
- 20:18is, is fashion stuff, but things that are witchy in nature.
- 20:24Until Alyssa kind of was like, yeah, absolutely do it.
- 20:27And when I was like showing her like the intentions I put into
- 20:30it in the crystals and things like that, she was like, you
- 20:32know, you, you've definitely got like, you know what you're
- 20:35doing. You're not just putting water in
- 20:36a bottle and like, you know, kind of like lifting me up with
- 20:39it, Which I think is another really big aspect of moon water
- 20:42is like, it isn't really like there isn't really anything of
- 20:45like using moon water to hex your friends, you know, whatever
- 20:50enemies or anything like that. You kind of just use dirty water
- 20:54for that. It's not blessed water like
- 20:56it's. It's a very positive thing.
- 20:59Whether it's science or symbolism, people find a comfort
- 21:01in ritual, reputation, reputation, repetition,
- 21:05repetition. This lot dyslexia kicks in every
- 21:08now and then. And This is why it's getting me
- 21:10more practice in reading and reading out loud.
- 21:12And you're doing a psychological anchor in chaos.
- 21:15So let's just jump right into the 4th segment because we got
- 21:17did kind of talk a little bit there.
- 21:18Is it evil or satanic Lily? Let's clear this up.
- 21:22Moon water has nothing to do with Satanism.
- 21:25It is not rooted in Satanism. It's not based in anything of
- 21:28evil intention. Modern Satanists, Lavey or
- 21:33Athistic don't practice this. It's it's Pagan and folklore
- 21:37ritual centuries older than the concept of Satan itself.
- 21:41The evil label came from centuries of misunderstanding
- 21:44anything labeled witchcraft. So kind of a thing with your
- 21:47business too. Like the people think
- 21:49witchcraft, they think it's going to be spooky and bad and
- 21:51it's doesn't need to be that way.
- 21:54Midwives, herbalist and healers were persecuted for using
- 21:57natural remedies before we had modern technology and modern
- 22:02science and modern medication. Even still, modern medication is
- 22:05used based on some herbalism and and pulling things from nature
- 22:10and extracting the enzymes in the DNA and the characteristics
- 22:15to put into medication to help people.
- 22:17So it's not evil, it's it's science.
- 22:20It's it's it's you know what I mean?
- 22:23That's why people are like all they're putting GM OS in food.
- 22:25No, they found out that if you put certain things in things,
- 22:28you can make people things bigger or grow faster or produce
- 22:30more to feed more people like it's not evil, it's science.
- 22:34I'm. Trying to remember the exact
- 22:36quote from the first Thor movie where he's talking about like
- 22:41you people call this is witchcraft and this is science.
- 22:45And he's like, but I come from a world where they're one in the
- 22:48same. And I'm like, that really is how
- 22:50it is, though. Moon water equals feminine
- 22:53nature based nonvirate spirituality, the the opposite
- 22:58of evil. So a historian quote is in
- 23:01medieval Europe what we now call witchcraft was also just women
- 23:08medicine. The devil got credit for
- 23:10anything the church didn't control.
- 23:16So does it really work scientifically?
- 23:20Moonlight is reflected sunlight. It doesn't change the water's
- 23:25molecular structure. Molecular structure.
- 23:27Psychologically, rituals have real power.
- 23:31They activate focus, calm and self belief.
- 23:34Believing in a process, even symbolically, can reduce
- 23:38anxiety, improve clarity and that's the placebo effect doing
- 23:43its job. The once again, the idea of the
- 23:45placebo effect isn't always negative.
- 23:48If I can talk you in as a coach to self belief and feeling
- 23:53strong and feeling confident to go out and win the game.
- 23:56You may not be the bigger a better a stronger athlete that
- 23:59day, but you came into the game with a better mind state than
- 24:02your opponent, and you're a good mind state and your clarity and
- 24:05yourself belief can outweigh physical characteristics against
- 24:10your component. So yeah, 100% spirituality.
- 24:15Moon water connects people to natural rhythms, reminding us
- 24:18that we are a part of cycles beyond our control.
- 24:22A a quote style note. Magic isn't about breaking
- 24:25physics, it's about giving meaning to physics.
- 24:29So for our discussion here, does it matter if something
- 24:33scientifically real if it gives it real comfort or focus?
- 24:37I don't think it matters. Does it matter?
- 24:39I don't think so. It's like, you know, OK, hold
- 24:44on, wait, maybe it does. It depends on what we're talking
- 24:46about. But.
- 24:47Everything in moderation are in the right context, right?
- 24:51Yeah, I think that when it comes to.
- 24:55Once again, if you're on antidepressants, keep them.
- 24:58Yeah, yeah, absolutely. But like I said, I think that
- 25:01like even as you were saying before in or as I was saying
- 25:06before when you're talking about doing witchcraft and I won't go
- 25:09into how to do hexes and things like that.
- 25:12But for the most part, everything that moon water is
- 25:16used for is used for positivity and whether it's actually
- 25:19working in a molecular structure being changed or anything like
- 25:23that. OK, maybe the molecular
- 25:26structure hasn't changed. It is still H2O in the in the
- 25:30container. Which is not bad for you.
- 25:32Right, right at the end of the day.
- 25:35But but at the end of the day, like if, if it makes you believe
- 25:38in it a little bit more and it's giving you a little bit more
- 25:40positivity, who's it hurting? But also don't cuvee stuff and
- 25:44just be like hey here's some shit from my kitchen that may be
- 25:47toxic, I'm going to put it in there and put the intention that
- 25:49it's good for. Me and that's.
- 25:51Research whatever you're putting into your body.
- 25:53We haven't gotten into how I make my stuff, but when we do
- 25:57get into that, I will I'll talk about that a little bit more.
- 26:00But I do go into research before I I say, OK, like, yeah, this is
- 26:03stuff you can put into a drink or whatever, whatever.
- 26:06Like I make sure that herbs or any oils or anything that I put
- 26:11into my stuff is food grade. Just specifically to make sure
- 26:14that in case somebody does decide to put it into a drink,
- 26:17it might not taste the best, but it's not going to poison them.
- 26:20Yeah, well, let's get into that ritual recipes menu here.
- 26:23So moon, new moon intention tea, if you want to try that is
- 26:29start, start fresh Rosemary plus mint in clean water.
- 26:33Leave overnight. Drink while journaling for new
- 26:35goals. So there you go, Waxing moon,
- 26:39growth elixir, silver bowl, basil leaves.
- 26:44Charge it while planting or working on new projects.
- 26:46Use a few drops on the wrist before work or performance.
- 26:51So I'm sorry, what was the first one you did while you do this?
- 26:53New Moon intention TI. Am going to I'm going to read
- 26:57you what other things that you could make moon water for under
- 27:01that under that phase if that's OK.
- 27:04So you started with New Moon, right?
- 27:07Well, these are just I I have a whole segment on.
- 27:09The moons too. Oh no, wait, I'm.
- 27:11Sorry, not very full moon beauty and power.
- 27:14Water, rose petals plus honey. Perfect for baths.
- 27:18Face sprays are self love rituals, Waning, waning, waning
- 27:25moon release spray water plus sage plus black salt mist in
- 27:30your home or workspace saying that you're ready to let go.
- 27:34Eclipse, shadow brew, Obsidian, nearby Mugwort are is optional,
- 27:40used for meditation or shadow work.
- 27:42Powerful in perspective and not for casual use.
- 27:47I I def again I did this. I'm so sorry my face doesn't
- 27:56want to stay. Is it too much purple light on
- 28:00you? It might be.
- 28:00Turn your light towards the wall more and maybe put it more
- 28:04behind you, I don't know. Don't turn it that way.
- 28:06Turn it. Well, that was actually perfect.
- 28:09Like move it back towards your seat more so it's more behind
- 28:12you. It's more of a backlight and not
- 28:13in front of your face. Yeah.
- 28:16We'll get there. We're.
- 28:17Figuring out, sorry, I don't know where we were just at.
- 28:19Your bottle with the mugwort. Oh yeah, this actually had
- 28:22mugwort in it. Mugwort, sorry.
- 28:24And I was using it eucalyptus and mugwort for renewal
- 28:27energies. Yes.
- 28:29Also pro tip here, never drink water that's been left open
- 28:34outside unless it's clean and sealed.
- 28:36Safety first, magic second. Yes.
- 28:41All right. But I always make sure my
- 28:43bottles are sealed. The bottles that I put them in
- 28:47even have a gasket in them so they have that airtight sealed.
- 28:53So we're going to go into the lunar cycle ritual planner.
- 28:56So I'll give some moons and then you can add on to it for each
- 28:58one. Sound good?
- 28:59All right, So phase, phase energy slash ritual.
- 29:03So I have new moon is to set intentions intention T.
- 29:08So the only thing that I ever have for a new moon is for
- 29:10setting intentions. I'm not going to.
- 29:13I'm not going to say that there aren't other things that you can
- 29:15do under a new moon, but me specifically, the only thing I
- 29:18use a new moon for is setting intentions for the next month.
- 29:22OK, Waxing moon growth and attraction growth elixirs.
- 29:27So depending on what phase we're in of waxing, if it's a waxing
- 29:31Crescent moon, I use that for fresh energy to conceptualize,
- 29:35to focus on detail. And then if it's a waxing
- 29:38gibbous moon, which is really, really full, almost a full moon,
- 29:43it's I use that more for patience and nurturing, like
- 29:49just focusing on what I what I need to do to grow and like what
- 29:53I need to do to nurture myself. Gotcha.
- 29:55OK. Full moon celebration and
- 29:58clarity, beauty, water. Peak energy, joy and gratitude.
- 30:03Things that I'm grateful for and things that I'm celebrating.
- 30:07But also, so when your new moon is setting intentions, the full
- 30:14moon is the complete opposite. So I also use that as I'm doing
- 30:17my celebration of everything that I just did for the last
- 30:20month and I'm letting it go. OK, so new moon is what?
- 30:24The new moon is when it's empty, it's dark, there is no moon
- 30:27there, you can't see the moon. Waxing is when it's Crescent on
- 30:30to the right. Waxing is when it's getting
- 30:32bigger, and waning is when it's getting smaller, coming closer
- 30:35to the new moon. When it's getting bigger, it's
- 30:37getting Waxing is getting closer to the full moon.
- 30:39Waning is getting closer to the new.
- 30:41Moon, but it's it's coming from the right to full, and then dark
- 30:45is coming from the left to full. It's coming from left to right
- 30:51fullness, and then it goes from fullness to dark.
- 30:56Yeah, yeah, yeah, to new. Yeah, just just giving people a
- 30:59visual. Because I'm sorry, I'm like
- 31:00trying to like. If you're like me and you're
- 31:02like, I don't know what any of that means.
- 31:03I'm trying to give a visual representation.
- 31:04For so in days wise of the lunar cycle is 28 days which is 4
- 31:10weeks. So let's say I'm actually, I
- 31:13think the full moon is later this week.
- 31:15I'm not certain on the exact date, but let's say that for
- 31:18instance, today is Sunday. Let's say today is the full
- 31:20moon. In exactly 2 weeks, it will be
- 31:23the new moon. It'll be 14 days.
- 31:24That'll be halfway through the lunar cycle.
- 31:26You should put more of this on your content for your page too.
- 31:29We'll get there. Yeah, tag team that, then I'm
- 31:31trying. I'm just trying to help out.
- 31:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. Waning moons, which is pretty
- 31:36much full, but now just kind of coming from the other direction,
- 31:38correct? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:40Yeah, release and reflection. Release spray.
- 31:43So I have a waning gibbous moon, which is when it's the biggest,
- 31:46starting to get small again for my release and servicing,
- 31:50nurturing others. So the waxing gibbous, as what
- 31:55we're saying, when it's getting bigger, coming closer to the
- 31:57full moon is more for nurturing myself.
- 31:59And then whenever we start going in the opposite direction, I'm
- 32:02focusing more on what I can do to nurture others.
- 32:04What's our moon right now? I'm not certain.
- 32:07I don't look at it today, but a waning Crescent is also where I
- 32:11do my rest and restore and reflection.
- 32:14And that's like when we're getting right back to we're
- 32:17coming right up back on the new moon, which is where we're going
- 32:20to set the intentions. So at the waning Crescent moon,
- 32:23that's when I'm really looking at like, what all do I need to
- 32:25reflect on for the past month and where do I need to set my
- 32:28intentions next? And then upcoming new moon.
- 32:30So right now we're in waxing gibbous, gibbous gibbous.
- 32:33It's approximately 79 to 80% of the moon is illuminated.
- 32:37This is a phase between the first quarter and the full moon,
- 32:40meaning the moon's getting closer to a fuller moon each
- 32:43night. The next full moon will occur on
- 32:46November 5th. Right, later this week.
- 32:48Yeah, I was right. Anyway, Yeah, so right now would
- 32:51be the waxing gibbous. Today's November 1st for people
- 32:54listening and later on. So right now, if we were to make
- 32:58moon water, that moon water is what I would be using to nurture
- 33:02myself. So right now would be more going
- 33:05for. We're getting closer to that
- 33:08full moon. So right now it's growth and
- 33:11attraction. Well, yeah, so, well, you said
- 33:15during waxing, waxing in general, but for the gibbous,
- 33:19the gibbous moon in general, I use that specifically as time
- 33:23for me to nurture in myself and focus on my patients.
- 33:26Got you. Dark Moon, rest and renewal.
- 33:31Yeah, new moon, Dark moon. Rest and renewal journal.
- 33:35Meditate. And that's when I set my
- 33:37intentions and meditate. Yep, and then eclipses
- 33:40transformational and shadow brew.
- 33:44So eclipses are when I cry the most because yeah, basically I
- 33:48will do, I do a lot of rituals during eclipses.
- 33:51Like that's like a all day thing affair for me when I do do them.
- 33:57I haven't done one in a bit but that's like wake up in the
- 34:01morning before. Feeling like no no.
- 34:07No waking up before the sun rises on an eclipse day.
- 34:11And I like start everything like I'm, I'm a hey, we got to get
- 34:15up. We're going to smoke and
- 34:16meditate and then we're going to do different little rituals
- 34:20throughout the day during eclipses.
- 34:21And then at the end of the night, or well, not necessarily
- 34:23the end of the night, could be in the middle of the day,
- 34:26depending on when the eclipse hits.
- 34:27Then I'll do a specific meditation during the eclipse.
- 34:30Gotcha farmers follow this pattern.
- 34:32Artist too. Even modern business planners
- 34:35talk about cycles. The moon reminds us to pause,
- 34:38plan, act and reflect. So psychological of
- 34:43psychologically a psychological of the ritual humans brave
- 34:48meaning when science can't control comfort of the soul
- 34:52ritual steps in psychologist note the small repeat repeated
- 34:57actions like lighting candles are prepping moon water reduces
- 35:01anxiety and boosts his mindfulness.
- 35:03It's meditation disguises magic. The jar becomes a mirror, not
- 35:07the moon but of yourself and then modern pop culture and calm
- 35:14of magic. Moon water has gone from alter
- 35:16ritual to Internet meme. Millions of TikTok videos, Etsy
- 35:21best Etsy sellers selling bottles charged of moon water,
- 35:25celebrities posting full moon baths.
- 35:30It's it's a blend of commerce and spirituality, just like
- 35:33astrology apps and crystals. People want connection and the
- 35:37capitalism will happily sell it, so be careful where you're
- 35:41getting it and maybe learn how to do it yourself, right?
- 35:45Absolutely I would. Absolutely encourage you to do
- 35:48it yourself. As I was saying before, as you
- 35:50were saying before, when I was talking about selling my little
- 35:53bottles, I was selling these bottles, I think for like $5 a
- 35:56bottle. I saw people during during like
- 35:59solar eclipses, lunar eclipses that were doing like a gallon of
- 36:05of water and being like, oh, I had this charged for under the
- 36:10under the eclipse and now it's $300.00 for the gallon and
- 36:14you're like, no, are you kidding me?
- 36:17Are you? I don't know that I trust that.
- 36:19I don't know that I would trust that.
- 36:21Make it yourself. Learn how to make it yourself.
- 36:22It's not that difficult. All you have to do is have good
- 36:25intentions. And once we'll talk towards.
- 36:27The closing on this, but there's there.
- 36:30Speaking of full moon, look at that big booty as my mom walks
- 36:33through. She always trying to steal the
- 36:36fucking spotlight. In 2022, Google searches for how
- 36:41to make moon water spiked by over 600%.
- 36:46So people are people are into it, they're learning.
- 36:48I hope it's called the Great Awakening.
- 36:50We. Should have this podcast 2022 I
- 36:52would. I'd have more subscribers
- 36:54anyway. Maybe you should start using the
- 36:55moon water. We're going to I'm down for
- 36:57anything. At this point, I'm nine years
- 36:59in. I'm, I'm, I'm, I, I want to
- 37:00build a community. We're almost three years into
- 37:03the relationship. Start using the moon water.
- 37:05Yeah, the symbolism and the. Legacy at its heart, moon water
- 37:09is a reflect, A reflection ritual, not about chemistry.
- 37:13It's not about connection. When you set a jar onto the
- 37:16moon, you're joining thousands of years of humans who looked up
- 37:20and said the light moves me. You're you're sinking with
- 37:24nature, emotion and imagination. That's not witchcraft, that's
- 37:28humanity. All right.
- 37:30So, yeah, so little quick bonus segments here actually, no,
- 37:38that's not what we're going to do.
- 37:39Lily, plug your business. Let's talk about that.
- 37:43I have this crochet business. Well, I have a business.
- 37:46It's called Witchcraft by Lily. I would say that I mostly do
- 37:51crochet projects like this cute little.
- 37:55I'm going to take my headphones off here for a second.
- 37:58I made this cute little cat ear. I think I'm going to call it a
- 38:01familiar beanie. And if you want to know what a
- 38:03familiar is, stay tuned because I think we're going to be next
- 38:05episode on that soon. But it is a little Kitty cat
- 38:11beanie. But I'm making scarves and hats
- 38:14and jackets, and I also repurpose clothes.
- 38:18Do you think you can integrate? These moon cycles and moon water
- 38:21into sprays and what we've talked about to make your
- 38:24product set intention and then use it on the product for
- 38:27people. It's like, hey, this is a beanie
- 38:29I made, but also it's been sprayed with the waxing moon
- 38:31intentions. I will say no.
- 38:34And the reason that I say that is because if I'm doing it just
- 38:39as a I don't know, I don't know, I don't, I don't, I don't, I
- 38:43won't say no, I won't say a hard no on that.
- 38:46But for the most part, when I'm using, we'll get into how I, I
- 38:50don't know if we're still going to get into that on how I make
- 38:53some things. But when I make certain things,
- 38:57let's say that I have the, I'm using something on the intention
- 39:00of love. I'll use rose petals and I'll
- 39:04use rose quartz. And because it's, those are all
- 39:07things that embody love or they, they symbolize love, but it'll
- 39:11have the scent of rose and maybe somebody doesn't like the scent
- 39:15of rose. So I wouldn't necessarily spray
- 39:17my stuff with it, but maybe I would sell it in little spray
- 39:20bottles that if you want to do that on your own and like, let's
- 39:23let's get into how you make stuff.
- 39:24OK, so. Usually on a I make I mostly
- 39:29make my water during. You can use and.
- 39:34I actually. Left my I have.
- 39:38AI have a silver pitcher in the other room that I'm using
- 39:41whenever I'm bottling my moon water.
- 39:44But for my moon water, this is this is what I use right here.
- 39:50So as we said, sealed water. So you get a full bottle like
- 39:56this sealed unopened. And I, our bedroom is on the 2nd
- 40:02floor. So do you know what I do?
- 40:05I don't go all the way outside. The importance of moon water is
- 40:08that it's charging under the moon, right?
- 40:10So you want to get it, you want to put it outside when it's dark
- 40:13already, and you want to bring it back inside before the sun
- 40:16hits it, K. I am not a person who is going
- 40:22to go outside, especially in Pennsylvania.
- 40:24She's not waking up early either.
- 40:25I am. Waking up early so.
- 40:27What I do is on the 2nd floor, I have my bottles of water like
- 40:31this. However many bottles I want to
- 40:33put out that night, let's say it's 3 or 4, I actually have a
- 40:36little miniature shopping basket and I'll just put all of these
- 40:40in the basket and I put the entire I open the window and I
- 40:44take the entire basket and I leave it sit on the roof.
- 40:47And then I wake up the next morning when he wakes up for
- 40:50work. He usually wakes me up before he
- 40:51leaves, gives me a kiss goodbye, whatever.
- 40:53I open that window back up and I plop it back inside before the
- 40:56sun comes out. But and as she goes back to
- 40:59sleep and she's late for work. Yeah, pretty much.
- 41:03Pretty much. But whenever I.
- 41:05Am then making bottling my moon water.
- 41:09What I'll do is, So what I'll do is I'll charge as much water as
- 41:12I want, 3 bottles, 4 bottles, 6 bottles, however much I want, I
- 41:16leave it in the plastic bottles. And then when I want to, when
- 41:19I've decided what I want to use it for, if I want to use it for
- 41:23different intentions, then I'll bottle them separately.
- 41:27So maybe I only want to use half of this bottle for with a scent
- 41:32in it, with intentions in it for love or self love or reflection
- 41:36or whatever it may be. And the other half of the bottle
- 41:39I'm going to use to make my morning coffee.
- 41:41So I don't want it with those things that are going to be
- 41:44toxic to me to drink. But whenever I do decide to
- 41:49bottle it with different intentions, what I usually do is
- 41:52I have our candles on it right now.
- 41:54So I'm not going to move it. But when I usually do bottle it,
- 41:57I have a whole meditation ceremony that I do and I'll pull
- 42:02out my tarot cloth. I pull out my tarot cards and I
- 42:07do a reading kind of as a grounding exercise for myself.
- 42:11And then I set my intentions into it.
- 42:13I'll meditate for a while and make sure that I'm just, I'll
- 42:18even you're well aware that once I've started, I'm like, you'll
- 42:21leave me the F alone. Don't talk to me for the next 20
- 42:24minutes, half hour, whatever it is, just leave me alone.
- 42:27I'm about to do my thing, but I'll set that intention for the
- 42:31entire time that I'm doing it. So I have my little mortar and
- 42:35pestle here. I have a couple of different
- 42:39herbs, like I was talking about roses before I use rose petal
- 42:44hips and things like that. I just get these that go to your
- 42:47local stores, your local farm stores, gardening stores, herb
- 42:52stores, things like that. And you'll, it doesn't
- 42:55necessarily have to be a, a witch supply store, But so if
- 43:00I'm, while I'm doing my intentions, while I'm doing my
- 43:03meditating, I'm, you know, I'm using my mortar and pestle here
- 43:08and I have my little herbs inside and I'm crushing them
- 43:11into it. And I'm thinking of my
- 43:13intentions the entire time that I'm doing it.
- 43:15I have my different crystal set out for whatever reason,
- 43:19whatever intentions I'm trying to put into it.
- 43:21But I also went and bought a bunch.
- 43:23I don't know if we're going to be able to show these, but I
- 43:27bought a bunch of itty bitty like crystal chips.
- 43:30I don't know if we can kind of see that little crystal chips
- 43:34and I would put these they're small enough that I can actually
- 43:37put them into the bottle with my intentions too.
- 43:40So I add different oils, like I said, depending on what I what
- 43:45my intentions are with them. And I have like little funnels
- 43:50even for depending on what size bottle I'm putting them into.
- 43:53But like I said, it's the most important thing is keeping them
- 43:57sealed for your for your health, health purposes.
- 44:01You don't want to get any contaminants into it.
- 44:04But then like I said, another thing too, when I'm doing my
- 44:07herbs, I don't leave them in there for a long periods of
- 44:10time. Like I'll I'll put them in right
- 44:13before I'm about to use them. But that's for me.
- 44:16You do what makes you happy. So how did I do?
- 44:18I think you did. Really good, honestly.
- 44:20I think you had a lot of good points and I was, I think that
- 44:28I've been more nervous about truth behind illusion because of
- 44:31how skeptical that I think you're going to be about it.
- 44:34But I think that for someone who's super skeptical, you did
- 44:38very well presenting it and not in AI.
- 44:42Don't I don't think that you were going to be disrespectful
- 44:44about it in the first place. I mean, in the past I've I only.
- 44:47Get disrespectful when I I truly question people's motives or if
- 44:51I question like like there's I guess around the time truth
- 44:56behind illusion was really popping off is the Q Anon time
- 44:59and it was very based in like fear mongering and political
- 45:05nonsense and people got hurt from it.
- 45:08Like it led to people lashing out and hurting each other.
- 45:12It led to people using car bombs and and like, you know what I
- 45:16mean? Like it was generally like
- 45:18people reading heard from these conspiracy theories and these
- 45:21thought processes. And, and we're still kind of in
- 45:23that where there is a little bit of attack on spirituality.
- 45:27And, and I hate to be that guy to say like this is my opinion.
- 45:30It's not maybe it maybe it's not your reality, but I feel like
- 45:33the Christian base is playing the victim of like they feel
- 45:37like they're being oppressed because they can't live their
- 45:39beliefs and they're actively going after it, attacking other
- 45:42people for their beliefs. And it's just kind of, are there
- 45:45a lifestyle, are there where they want to do things that's
- 45:48not hurting anybody, you know what I mean?
- 45:50And so I do struggle with that or like, I think grief is a very
- 45:54powerful and a, a thing that people can be taken advantage
- 45:59of. And when people use that to hurt
- 46:02them, I don't want people are looking for.
- 46:05Something to be healed with, no matter if it's grief or if it's
- 46:09physical pain or if it's mental pain, whatever someone's
- 46:13struggling with. Everyone has their struggles and
- 46:15everyone's looking for some sort of relief.
- 46:17And when someone preys on someone that is just looking for
- 46:20help, that's disgusting. I'm sure there's some.
- 46:25I'm sure, I'm sure there's. Going to be some topics coming
- 46:26up that I will be a little more abrasive on, but this is not one
- 46:30I think as people. I mean, I don't think unless
- 46:33you're, I think any type, any anything in the world can have
- 46:37extremisms, right? And I don't think this is
- 46:40something that I'm sure it's out there and exists, but it's if
- 46:43you're taking this to an extreme, you should you should
- 46:45go talk to somebody. You know what is one thing that
- 46:47I. I, I do think that we should
- 46:49have brought up that wasn't talked about.
- 46:53We talked about whether it was evil or not, right?
- 47:00Is, is moon water evil? Is it satanic?
- 47:04But what is holy water? What is holy water?
- 47:08Holy water is just a priest had an intention of blessing this
- 47:14water. What makes it so special?
- 47:18Because somebody said it was special, right?
- 47:20So what's the difference between me saying the moon said it was
- 47:24special spoiler? There's a lot of things.
- 47:26That the Christians do, that they consider witchcraft, that
- 47:28they do within their own practices, we could have a
- 47:31whole. Podcast on that, Yeah, but we'll
- 47:35get back to that. Another time in.
- 47:36Closing. So is moon water real?
- 47:40Not the test tube. Not in the test tube sense.
- 47:43But emotionally, spiritually and symbolically, Absolutely maybe
- 47:48at this point, the magic isn't in the water.
- 47:50It's in the act of believing something gentle, natural and
- 47:54human and and human. And that still matters the the
- 47:58moon. That's moon water.
- 48:00And that's it for the ABJ podcast Truth behind illusion.
