- 0:07Speaker 1: It's Meat Eater Podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:12Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer Newhart, and today
- 0:16Speaker 2: we're joined by Giannis, Mark Kenyan, Justin Gaechee, Mark Heey,
- 0:21Speaker 2: Josh Smith, Patrick Hanley, Luke Cadillo, Scotti Lego, and Troy Hellman.
- 0:26Speaker 2: This is a ten round quiz show with questions from
- 0:29Speaker 2: meat eaters for verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation and cooking,
- 0:33Speaker 2: and there is a prize. Meat Eater will donate five
- 0:35Speaker 2: hundred dollars to the conservation organization of the winners choosing. Now, Yanni,
- 0:40Speaker 2: we got a lot of guests in town today. Tell
- 0:42Speaker 2: us what you guys have been up to.
- 0:44Speaker 3: We just spent at least half of us here at
- 0:46Speaker 3: this table spent two days competing at the sig ARC event,
- 0:50Speaker 3: which stands for Archery Rifle Competition. The gist of it
- 0:55Speaker 3: is that in the course of two days and one
- 0:57Speaker 3: evening we shot sixteen different stages and no two were
- 1:02Speaker 3: the same. Give me an example or two lots of pistols,
- 1:06Speaker 3: lots of rifles, lots of bone arrow shots, archery shots.
- 1:12Speaker 3: An example would be this is a favorite of ours
- 1:15Speaker 3: both actually stages that they were in the same location,
- 1:17Speaker 3: but they changed over two days. It was the top
- 1:19Speaker 3: of a hill mountain kind of thing, and day one
- 1:24Speaker 3: you laid down your rifle. You had one shot and
- 1:26Speaker 3: you had to choose between a two hundred, four hundred
- 1:28Speaker 3: and a six hundred yard target and they were small
- 1:30Speaker 3: eight by tens I think steel plates, and the two
- 1:35Speaker 3: hundred had a value and then the four hundred had
- 1:38Speaker 3: a medium value, six hundred had a high value. You
- 1:41Speaker 3: would shoot to get your next round, you had to run,
- 1:44Speaker 3: sprint whatever you want, a new walk one hundred yards
- 1:47Speaker 3: to a bucket, grab around and come back, lay down
- 1:50Speaker 3: and put it in. So very biathlon kind of feel
- 1:53Speaker 3: to that one.
- 1:54Speaker 2: That was your favorite event.
- 1:56Speaker 3: It was one that, yeah, it was fun because it
- 1:58Speaker 3: sort of it seemed like, you know, there's a lot
- 1:59Speaker 3: of different things that you're sort of trying to work
- 2:02Speaker 3: into it. The same zone had one where they had
- 2:05Speaker 3: roughly fifteen steel plates set up. You had to shoot
- 2:08Speaker 3: them all with your pistol. The last play it was
- 2:11Speaker 3: two hundred yards away and you could shoot it at
- 2:13Speaker 3: whatever distance you wanted with a pistol. So most folks
- 2:17Speaker 3: ran down there shot it at close range and then
- 2:19Speaker 3: ran all the way back and these were relays. That
- 2:21Speaker 3: one was a relay, so once you got back, the
- 2:23Speaker 3: next person on your three person team would start.
- 2:25Speaker 4: It was cool.
- 2:26Speaker 3: The winner, the winning team got to choose a nonprofit
- 2:30Speaker 3: where SIG donated. Sig donated fifty thousand dollars to WHOA. Yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 3: can we.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Talk about the results? Is that something that?
- 2:37Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Okay, how Team meat Eater do?
- 2:40Speaker 4: Team meter landed perfectly average?
- 2:44Speaker 3: We were four out of seven, which very happy with
- 2:49Speaker 3: especially we had a little bit of a handicap. Cal's
- 2:52Speaker 3: not here to the same thing about it. Cal shot
- 2:54Speaker 3: is trad bow. He's the only trad bow shooter and
- 2:58Speaker 3: it definitely costs us. And we were just not even
- 3:02Speaker 3: touching foam on a lot of archery shots. But no, overall,
- 3:06Speaker 3: I felt like we had a versatile, middle of the
- 3:08Speaker 3: road team and that's right where we landed. Okay, Patrick,
- 3:11Speaker 3: probably speak to the winning team, Yeah, Patrick.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Troy, you guys were a big part of making this
- 3:15Speaker 2: event happen. Did everything go is planned? Is there going
- 3:17Speaker 2: to be a second annual?
- 3:19Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 3:19Speaker 7: This competition this was pretty much exactly how we envisioned it.
- 3:23Speaker 7: It was kind of unique, in the way that we
- 3:26Speaker 7: did an event a couple of years ago called the
- 3:28Speaker 7: Hunter Games that was mostly rifle based. The concept behind
- 3:32Speaker 7: this was to utilize more of the things that we
- 3:34Speaker 7: do well, like rangefinders and buy No's, and have it
- 3:37Speaker 7: be all aspects of shooting. So we had rifle, handgun,
- 3:41Speaker 7: we had archery. It mixed a lot of it. But
- 3:43Speaker 7: what it did that was super cool that we saw
- 3:45Speaker 7: was when we did the last two day event of
- 3:47Speaker 7: Hunter Games, people will get really good on the second day,
- 3:50Speaker 7: and with this, the second day was a totally different ballgame.
- 3:54Speaker 7: They were carrying their bows instead of their rifle. Everything
- 3:57Speaker 7: was different, so it made it super super cool. And
- 4:00Speaker 7: actually Troy's team that he was managing ended up being
- 4:03Speaker 7: the ones that ended up winning the whole thing.
- 4:04Speaker 2: And yeah, yeah, really set up the competition and won
- 4:08Speaker 2: the competition.
- 4:09Speaker 8: I set up the archery stages.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, he did, which was.
- 4:11Speaker 8: About twenty five percent of the overall filed competition.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, if we can let that happen, I'd like if
- 4:19Speaker 2: I played trivia today with you guys.
- 4:21Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah, No.
- 4:22Speaker 9: We had a we had a killer team Cody Alfred,
- 4:26Speaker 9: Kurt Gamache, and Mike Kern. These guys are all studs,
- 4:31Speaker 9: and I think speed killed on this one, and those
- 4:35Speaker 9: guys had speed and spades. So great cause to UH.
- 4:39Speaker 9: Defenders of Freedom helps veterans address and treat TBIs. Cody
- 4:46Speaker 9: himself has been through the program and has seen the
- 4:49Speaker 9: benefit of it, and so it was cool to watch
- 4:52Speaker 9: those guys win and put money towards a good cause.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Fifty dollars going their way via SIG. I know, Justin, Luke,
- 4:59Speaker 2: mar Scotty, You're are athletes in the room and at
- 5:02Speaker 2: the competition. Justin and Luke in mixed martial arts, Mark
- 5:05Speaker 2: and surfing, Scotty and snowboarding. You guys think you can
- 5:08Speaker 2: go pro and shooting after this week? Could you pull
- 5:10Speaker 2: it off?
- 5:12Speaker 1: That's the hell?
- 5:13Speaker 5: No, No, he would take a lot of commitment. I
- 5:17Speaker 5: hadn't shot. I probably did three rounds through a rifle
- 5:21Speaker 5: before this last week. So Trevor Thompson, who's on our
- 5:24Speaker 5: team from Protect, he's very, very, very competent and experienced.
- 5:30Speaker 5: So I did two mornings in Salt Lake with him beforehand.
- 5:34Speaker 5: But uh, yeah, it's a long road for me.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Okay, Justin pro and shooting, could you do it?
- 5:40Speaker 10: Oh?
- 5:40Speaker 6: I don't know, definitely definitely not archery. I was definitely
- 5:44Speaker 6: on point yesterday with the pistols. I love shooting rifles.
- 5:49Speaker 6: But yeah, like Patrick was talking about, the whole experience
- 5:52Speaker 6: was just you know, awesome because it challenged you in
- 5:55Speaker 6: so many different ways. You know, the relays had you know,
- 5:58Speaker 6: there's a lot of strategy that would involved. You really
- 6:01Speaker 6: need to know your teammates to know their abilities and
- 6:06Speaker 6: then go from there. But yeah, we took sixth, so
- 6:10Speaker 6: I thought we did good. But man, there was some
- 6:11Speaker 6: shooters out there. So seeing as we took six I
- 6:14Speaker 6: don't think me or Luke will pass for professionals.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Okay, I think what points to the success. And a
- 6:20Speaker 3: great sentiment that I heard throughout the camp we were
- 6:22Speaker 3: all camped hanging out together in wall tents, was that
- 6:26Speaker 3: everybody felt like after they shot a stage, they'd be like, oh,
- 6:29Speaker 3: can we do that again? Like just for fun. That
- 6:33Speaker 3: was two days of just pure fun with projectiles.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Yeah, my favorite stage was the infrared at night. We
- 6:40Speaker 6: had two stages set up at night. The first night
- 6:44Speaker 6: we used some flashlights on our pistols. One pistol, two
- 6:48Speaker 6: RSP had to clear I think twenty targets and then
- 6:50Speaker 6: he walked up a hill and used the infrared site
- 6:55Speaker 6: and there was three targets he had or three or
- 6:57Speaker 6: five five five targets out there and you had to
- 7:01Speaker 6: go through and look through the finals with your for
- 7:04Speaker 6: red you know optic. It was awesome.
- 7:06Speaker 9: Yeah, there's steel targets and we were using Pete was
- 7:09Speaker 9: up there with a blow torch heating them up. We
- 7:12Speaker 9: were running thermals and it was That was a cool stage.
- 7:17Speaker 9: I think I think a lot of people came into
- 7:18Speaker 9: that stage thinking they were going to crash it at
- 7:21Speaker 9: my team being one of them, and we did not
- 7:23Speaker 9: run super well on that stage. And then I think
- 7:26Speaker 9: teams that came into it feeling a little shaky cleaned
- 7:29Speaker 9: house pretty quick.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I saw some social clips, but winning, Where can I
- 7:33Speaker 2: watch this whole thing throlling out now?
- 7:35Speaker 9: Like I think the beauty of this is it's like
- 7:38Speaker 9: a mixing pot. Like Josh's company Montana Knife. They've been
- 7:42Speaker 9: cranking stuff out. We're cranking stuff out on the sig
- 7:44Speaker 9: Hunting Instagram, meat eaters cranking it out like everybody. It's
- 7:49Speaker 9: it's going to be in your feed hard for the
- 7:51Speaker 9: next couple of weeks.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:53Speaker 11: The other thing on our team, I was super proud
- 7:56Speaker 11: of is we had the only women on our team
- 7:58Speaker 11: in the whole competition, Tulsi Gabbard, which was pretty cool,
- 8:01Speaker 11: and we and we still finished second, which uh. We
- 8:04Speaker 11: had Bo Nickel who had never really shot pistol before
- 8:07Speaker 11: UFC Fighter as well. But I did think it was
- 8:12Speaker 11: really cool having a couple of people that well, having
- 8:15Speaker 11: a woman on our team and somebody kind of knew
- 8:17Speaker 11: her to that stuff, and even myself not that experience,
- 8:20Speaker 11: but we worked pretty pretty well together as a team.
- 8:22Speaker 11: But Tulsi, uh, you know, she's on her book tour
- 8:26Speaker 11: and she's in the running for VP and all that stuff,
- 8:28Speaker 11: and to come off of that and just step in
- 8:30Speaker 11: with a bunch of men and beat and you know, frankly,
- 8:33Speaker 11: our team beat a lot of very capable men, which
- 8:35Speaker 11: was pretty cool to do that. And she she she
- 8:38Speaker 11: had never shot bo. Uh, well, she had shot once
- 8:41Speaker 11: or twice. She had gotten a bow from from Cam Haynes,
- 8:44Speaker 11: so we were literally citing her bow in the morning
- 8:46Speaker 11: of the archery part, and uh, she still got arrows
- 8:50Speaker 11: and foam even in those steel targets. I think she
- 8:52Speaker 11: only hit three of the steel out of the what
- 8:55Speaker 11: six yet. Yeah, so that's that's pretty good. So the
- 9:00Speaker 11: way Sig did that, and and also the piece of
- 9:04Speaker 11: property that was on the landowners allowing with with the
- 9:08Speaker 11: litigious society that we live in, a property owner allowing
- 9:11Speaker 11: a bunch of people to come up and shoot guns
- 9:13Speaker 11: for two straight days is very cool that there's still
- 9:16Speaker 11: people out there to to let that happen.
- 9:18Speaker 7: And Yeah, and they came over and had dinner with us.
- 9:21Speaker 11: Yeah, he told he told like Lewis and Clark's story
- 9:24Speaker 11: and an older couple, he told a story and he
- 9:27Speaker 11: was as happier than could be that that we were
- 9:29Speaker 11: all out there, which was cool.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Now, Josh, I've heard Steve talking about a knife that
- 9:34Speaker 2: you and him have been working on together, but he's
- 9:36Speaker 2: been very light on details.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Well, when this podcast comes out will be a week
- 9:40Speaker 2: away from that collab dropping. What can you tell us
- 9:43Speaker 2: about it?
- 9:44Speaker 11: Yeah, Uh, it's something that Steve and I have been
- 9:47Speaker 11: working on for a while. Super excited about it. We
- 9:51Speaker 11: have we have a few knives coming throughout the rest
- 9:53Speaker 11: of this year together, actually, but this first one is
- 9:55Speaker 11: called the Stubhorn kind of name named after a bison,
- 10:00Speaker 11: and it's a hunting knife kind of a cool, cool
- 10:03Speaker 11: looking hunting knife that Steve and I went back and
- 10:06Speaker 11: forth on. What was cool about the process is really
- 10:10Speaker 11: just allowing Steve to tell me what he wanted a knife,
- 10:12Speaker 11: and I kept, you know, doing different drawings and we
- 10:15Speaker 11: kept kicking models back and forth and getting it exactly
- 10:18Speaker 11: how he wanted. So we have that coming and then
- 10:21Speaker 11: we have a different knife we'll talk about probably later
- 10:24Speaker 11: called the flat Tail that'll be coming later on. So
- 10:26Speaker 11: after a beaver a beaver trapping. So yeah, that's been
- 10:31Speaker 11: a really cool experience to work with Steve and he's
- 10:35Speaker 11: he's so knowledgeable. It's I've actually learned a lot from him.
- 10:39Speaker 2: And he tells you that he is. Now that first
- 10:43Speaker 2: knife he talked about comes out June twenty seven, so
- 10:46Speaker 2: about a week after this episode air is mar Kenyon.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You're just in town for fun, So welcome to the studio.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Thanks for having me.
- 10:53Speaker 10: And I actually got one of those knives, and that's
- 10:55Speaker 10: probably my favorite knife you guys made yet and I
- 10:58Speaker 10: have four or five really nice.
- 11:02Speaker 11: Yeah, thank you, Yeah, well thanks to Steve. So yeah,
- 11:05Speaker 11: it's been that's been cool. We're we're really excited about it,
- 11:08Speaker 11: and we're really excited about There's some stuff coming not
- 11:11Speaker 11: just for the field, but also for the kitchen later
- 11:13Speaker 11: on this year, so a lot of stuff coming.
- 11:16Speaker 9: Ye.
- 11:16Speaker 2: All right, we don't have any stats I f a
- 11:18Speaker 2: q's or housekeeping today, so we can get right to
- 11:20Speaker 2: the trivia. The Shelby index for this round is a four,
- 11:23Speaker 2: so our winner should get eight correct answers, and with
- 11:27Speaker 2: that we're onto the game of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look,
- 11:33Speaker 2: I need to know what I should underperience actually just
- 11:39Speaker 2: tend to win everything game. On Suckers. Question one, the
- 11:51Speaker 2: topic is hunting in This will be multiple choice. Which
- 11:55Speaker 2: of these countries does not have oscillated turkeys? Is it believe,
- 12:00Speaker 2: United States, Guatemala or Mexico? Is his question one of ten.
- 12:07Speaker 2: This will be your only multiple choice question today. Which
- 12:11Speaker 2: of these countries does not have oscillated turkeys? Belize, United States, Guatemala,
- 12:19Speaker 2: or Mexico. Three of those countries have an oscillated turkey.
- 12:22Speaker 2: One of them does not. Yanni, very confident over here, Yanni,
- 12:26Speaker 2: you have this one right.
- 12:28Speaker 8: I do.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I don't know what one is either. Okay, it's gonna
- 12:34Speaker 2: be tough for the handful of you who don't know
- 12:36Speaker 2: what an oscillated turkey is which of those countries does
- 12:40Speaker 2: not have one? Belize, United States, Guatemala or Mexico. Is
- 12:45Speaker 2: everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 12:51Speaker 2: justin saying Belize, Marcus saying Usa. Yanni says Usa, Josh Belize,
- 12:59Speaker 2: Patrick Ease Troy, United States, Scottie Belize, Luke Guatemala, he
- 13:06Speaker 2: Lee Usa. The correct answer is the United States. About
- 13:13Speaker 2: half of you got that one.
- 13:14Speaker 11: I erased it and changed it to go with your.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Oscillated turkeys are primarily found on the Yucatan Peninsula. Because
- 13:22Speaker 2: of their peacock like colors, The National Audubon Society describes
- 13:26Speaker 2: them as a technic color turkey. The American Bird Conservancy
- 13:30Speaker 2: estimates their population is between twenty thousand and fifty thousand.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Does that answer your question justin about an oscillated turkey,
- 13:37Speaker 2: their very bright, vibrant turkey. Yanni, how would you describe one?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Have you seen one before?
- 13:42Speaker 4: Yeah? I have in Guatemala.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Actually we went to look at some ruins, and uh
- 13:47Speaker 3: I was just as interested in those turkeys as the
- 13:50Speaker 3: uh well, I remember most about that tour. As you're
- 13:52Speaker 3: walking around these they.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Call them, it's not a pyramid. What do they call it?
- 13:57Speaker 3: Just like a it's not a pyramid, but it has
- 14:00Speaker 3: the same shape as a pyramid. But anyways, like every
- 14:03Speaker 3: other stop, the guides like, and that's where they sacrifice people,
- 14:07Speaker 3: and then over here they sacrifice the kids, and then
- 14:09Speaker 3: over here they sacrificed the neighboring tribe.
- 14:12Speaker 4: And then when you lost a soccer game, that's where.
- 14:14Speaker 3: They beheaded you. There's a lot of that. But anyways, yeah,
- 14:17Speaker 3: they were down there. It's like a turkey and a
- 14:19Speaker 3: peacock made a baby.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Did you see them or did you hear them?
- 14:22Speaker 8: You saw them?
- 14:23Speaker 2: Did you hear them too? Were they like just as
- 14:24Speaker 2: vocal as.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Turkeys you're familiar with.
- 14:26Speaker 3: We did not hear them, and as far as I understand,
- 14:28Speaker 3: they don't make the noises like our turkeys.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Question two. The topic is wildlife. This man spent one
- 14:36Speaker 2: hundred and seventy nine episodes working filthy careers such as
- 14:40Speaker 2: roadkill collector, beaver relocator, deer year in, farmer, crab fisherman, taxidermist,
- 14:46Speaker 2: and more. This is question two. This man spent one
- 14:53Speaker 2: hundred and seventy nine episodes working filthy careers such as
- 14:58Speaker 2: roadkill collector, beaver, relocator, deer, you're in farmer, crab, fisherman, taxidermist,
- 15:04Speaker 2: and more. So your answer will be the name of
- 15:08Speaker 2: this person. Just just let a first name slip, not
- 15:14Speaker 2: going to confirm if it was right or.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Not, just writing him down.
- 15:18Speaker 2: To Joannie looks confident again, Josh, do you have this
- 15:25Speaker 2: one right? Okay? Josh thinks he has this one? Troy,
- 15:28Speaker 2: do you have this one? Half the rooms confident? Heale
- 15:32Speaker 2: is now just.
- 15:34Speaker 8: Today.
- 15:35Speaker 11: That's pretty much was my goal.
- 15:38Speaker 2: This man spent one hundred and seventy nine episodes working
- 15:41Speaker 2: filthy careers such as roadkill collector, beaver, relocator, deer, you're
- 15:47Speaker 2: in farmer, crab, fisherman, taxidermist, and more. It is a really.
- 15:52Speaker 10: Unique form of misery when you know you know the
- 15:54Speaker 10: answer to one of these but just won't come to
- 15:56Speaker 10: your head.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Is that you right now? Can we just do it?
- 16:00Speaker 5: Last name?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yeah? Last name you know, yeah, jeopardy, jeopardy.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I don't want to show.
- 16:10Speaker 2: First name is not good enough. Last name would be
- 16:13Speaker 2: good enough. Oh yeah, man, I have I think I
- 16:19Speaker 2: got it.
- 16:20Speaker 8: I think I got it?
- 16:21Speaker 2: Is everybody ready, Scotty? Is everybody ready? Go ahead and
- 16:30Speaker 2: reveal your answers. We have the highlight saying Mike, Mark
- 16:34Speaker 2: Kenyon saying Micro, Giannis, Mike Row, Josh Micro, Patrick Micro
- 16:41Speaker 2: Dirty Jobs, Troy Micro Scotty says dirty jobs with Micro,
- 16:47Speaker 2: Joe says Jojo says dirty jobs Guy Micro. The room
- 16:53Speaker 2: did very well. The correct answer is Micro. Dirty Jobs
- 16:57Speaker 2: ran for eight seasons on the Discovery Channel from two
- 17:01Speaker 2: thousand and five to twenty twelve, and each episode, Micro
- 17:04Speaker 2: would shadow a worker from a trade that was often filthy, difficult,
- 17:08Speaker 2: and dangerous. In a twenty nineteen interview, Roe said that
- 17:12Speaker 2: the five worst jobs he ever worked were sewer inspector,
- 17:16Speaker 2: snake biologist, cowen seminator, concrete chipper, and shark suit tester.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Who's Jojo? Question three? The topic is gear. This next
- 17:29Speaker 2: great question is via Jane Henson. What does the AR
- 17:34Speaker 2: in AR fifteen stand for? Oh God? What does the
- 17:41Speaker 2: AR in AR fifteen stand for?
- 17:45Speaker 7: Wow?
- 17:48Speaker 2: A lot of folks shooting guns this week in the room.
- 17:52Speaker 2: We'll see if they know what the AR stands for
- 17:55Speaker 2: in AR fifteen. Yanni, how we feel about your answer?
- 18:00Speaker 3: Man, I'm just gonna go with the gut. Whatever popped
- 18:03Speaker 3: in there, I don't it's I know. I know someone has.
- 18:08Speaker 3: We've discussed this okay on the podcast, but yeah, I
- 18:13Speaker 3: feel bad for not knowing.
- 18:15Speaker 2: What same What does the AR stand?
- 18:18Speaker 11: I think I have the first part?
- 18:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, if I worked for a firearm company, I

- 19:19Speaker 12: Scottie Assault Rifle, Luke Assault rifle, he Lee automatic rifle.
- 19:26Speaker 2: The correct answer is ArmaLite. About half of you got
- 19:30Speaker 2: that right. ArmaLite is the manufacturer who created the AR
- 19:34Speaker 2: fifteen platform for civilians in the nineteen fifties. Because ars
- 19:39Speaker 2: so often get mislabeled as assault rifles or automatic rifles,
- 19:43Speaker 2: the industry has tried migrating to the acronym MSR, which

- 20:25Speaker 6: disgusting thing.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Next, give up any hints you'd like to beat these boys?
- 20:32Speaker 4: Right, It's okay, I'm just reminded. I'm just reminding.

- 21:01Speaker 3: like if you ate it every day, you'd probably get
- 21:04Speaker 3: you get over it real quick. But it's like a
- 21:06Speaker 3: New Year I think we always used to serve it
- 21:08Speaker 3: at New Year's on a on a pre fab menu,
- 21:12Speaker 3: you know, at the restaurant we do a fancy foi

- 21:15Speaker 2: Did Yanni and Justin's banter help anybody?
- 21:18Speaker 10: Yeah, I was gonna say the two bits they laid
- 21:20Speaker 10: out made me more confident.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Okay, is everybody ready?
- 21:24Speaker 8: Good?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Justin saying
- 21:29Speaker 2: duck liver, Mark says liver, Yanni liver, Josh Brain, Patrick Liver,
- 21:36Speaker 2: Troy Goose liver, Scottie liver, Luke tongue, Healey liver. The
- 21:44Speaker 2: correct answer is liver, duck liver. The room did very well.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Foi gras translates to fat liver in French. It's a
- 21:52Speaker 2: gourmet meal that's achieved by force feeding ducks and geese
- 21:55Speaker 2: from a young age. The contentious dish has been banned
- 21:59Speaker 2: in over a dozen countries, as well as California. To
- 22:02Speaker 2: create your own appetizer that contains all the fanciness of
- 22:05Speaker 2: foie gras with none of the controversy. Check out Steve's
- 22:08Speaker 2: recipe on the medeater dot com called wild game Pete.
- 22:11Speaker 11: Obviously, Luke and I don't need expensive restaurants, Joanna.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Your restaurant served foe gras well.
- 22:19Speaker 4: I mean I've worked a lot of restaurants.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Huh, but you worked at one that served foi gras.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, Like I said, it would be a New
- 22:25Speaker 3: Year's Eve on the pre fee menu.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Here's question five. The topic is wildlife. This The next
- 22:31Speaker 2: great question is via Vince Maniaki. This is the largest
- 22:36Speaker 2: member of the dolphin family and Washington State Marine mammal.
- 22:43Speaker 2: This is question five. We'll get a scoreboard update from
- 22:46Speaker 2: Philly Engineer after this. This is the largest member of
- 22:51Speaker 2: the dolphin family and Washington State Marine mammal. Healey very
- 22:57Speaker 2: confident over here. Do you have this one right?
- 23:00Speaker 5: And the potentially do there's actually it's actually a little
- 23:04Speaker 5: dicey because there's these really weird ass dolphins that I
- 23:08Speaker 5: that I know get very large. Okay, I haven't seen
- 23:10Speaker 5: scale in between the one that I picked.
- 23:12Speaker 2: In this is it also Washington's state Marine mammal. That's
- 23:16Speaker 2: your other part of the question that you need to
- 23:17Speaker 2: fulfill that doesn't help. This is the largest member of
- 23:22Speaker 2: the dolphin family in Washington's state marine mammal. Room is

- 24:21Speaker 2: correct answer is orca or killer whales.
- 24:24Speaker 4: About half.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Have you got that right? Scientifically, all dolphins are whales,
- 24:30Speaker 2: but not all whales are dolphins. Dolphins are a type
- 24:33Speaker 2: of toothed whale, with the other four families being narwhals
- 24:37Speaker 2: and belugas, sperm whales, beaked whales, and porpoises. The orca
- 24:41Speaker 2: became Washington's official state marine mammal in two thousand and five,
- 24:45Speaker 2: with through other state mammal being the marmot phil We're
- 24:49Speaker 2: halfway through the game of trivia, give us a scoreboard updated.

- 24:58Speaker 2: I'm just here to make Jock feel better.
- 25:00Speaker 8: And that's that's important.
- 25:02Speaker 13: Josh, you've got one point, Scotty and Justin have two,
- 25:06Speaker 13: Patrick has three, and all with four points have got
- 25:10Speaker 13: Mark hely Giannis and Troy and Troy. My heart broke
- 25:13Speaker 13: for you when I saw you watched you change your
- 25:14Speaker 13: answer from RCA to sort of something else because if
- 25:17Speaker 13: you had not done that, you would be tied with
- 25:19Speaker 13: Mark Kenyon with a perfect game.
- 25:21Speaker 8: Mark's got five points.
- 25:24Speaker 4: The perfect should kick him out of here.

- 25:57Speaker 2: What's your point, Justin?
- 25:58Speaker 6: He's not Mexican.

- 26:52Speaker 2: ro ho. They got it. The correct answer is roja
- 26:56Speaker 2: or ro hoo on the board. In Spanish, oha means red,
- 27:01Speaker 2: and some things that you would order roja versus verde
- 27:06Speaker 2: or Anchilada's, Tamali's salsa, moley sauce, and peppi and sauce. Typically,

- 28:07Speaker 2: You just need to name one of them. If you
- 28:09Speaker 2: put down two, you're gonna get it wrong. Just put
- 28:11Speaker 2: down one of the state capitals. And again, we're looking
- 28:14Speaker 2: for the capitol, not the state.
- 28:19Speaker 11: It's one of the first times I've answered on my board.
- 28:21Speaker 11: I don't think it's a dumb guess.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, yeah, like it's educated.
- 28:25Speaker 11: And with a look on Luke's face, I'm pretty sure
