- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So, today I want to talk about the story that you tell yourself
- 0:35that's your story, you know? If someone says to you, well,
- 0:38what's your story and what are your thoughts on what's happened
- 0:42to you in your past? And all of those things are you
- 0:45telling an inspiring story or are you in a place where you
- 0:50realize that that story is not necessarily helping you because
- 0:56I'm very big on being detached from the story.
- 1:01You can have a story, you can talk about a story but being
- 1:04attached to it and still being in the emotion of it robs you
- 1:08from moving forward and helping it.
- 1:10Utilize it to basically move you further in your life.
- 1:14So I'm going to use one of mine as an example because I think
- 1:17that it's incredibly important I was as any of you who listen
- 1:21regularly know, I was definitely someone who was an anxious
- 1:25child. I had really severe anxiety and
- 1:29it was something that Definitely shaped a lot of my life.
- 1:33How I did things, where I went, who I hung out with everything
- 1:36was shaped by the fear of having anxiety attacks and I can talk
- 1:41to you about it now and have zero emotion around it because
- 1:44it's just a fact, it does not affect me.
- 1:46Any longer I recognized that I had to make a decision about how
- 1:50I was going to change it and I had to look at it all.
- 1:53Like it was a gift in the sense that it made me the coach.
- 1:57I am, it helps me to meet people when they are in.
- 2:00Just and be able to shift them out of it.
- 2:04It, it is not something. If I stayed in that state and I
- 2:09stayed in the story, I kept telling the same story that
- 2:12would ever help me move forward. It would it would pull me
- 2:15backwards into it, because when we give energy to something and
- 2:19that's emotion to it, we end up recreating it over and over, and
- 2:23over again, because there's a motion on it.
- 2:26So, the story that you're telling yourself right now about
- 2:29your past, I really want you to examine that and make sure that
- 2:33you're not telling yourself a story that's ultimately
- 2:35disempowering you and keeping you back to where you are
- 2:39currently because you're repeating the story.
- 2:42Because when you repeat the story, you repeat the actions
- 2:45and it's this vicious cycle. And in your head, nothing can
- 2:47move forward because that's where you are.
- 2:50And I can't stress this enough. If you don't make the choice to
- 2:53get out of it no one can help you get out of it.
- 2:55This is this is one of the the confounding facts that we have
- 2:59to deal with. That's maddening for so many of
- 3:02us is that we want to look outside and we want to say well
- 3:06it was because of this and that's why I'm here.
- 3:10And we make up these stories that give excuses.
- 3:13And ultimately yeah, everything that you're talking about in
- 3:17your head was probably true. So what?
- 3:20And now you have to move on. Now you have to look at it and
- 3:22say okay, why am I going to stay attached to something when it
- 3:25doesn't work for me, you know, find out.
- 3:27Ask yourself the question. What can I take from this?
- 3:30What can I learn from this? And then ultimately, tell a
- 3:33better story, you know, I don't think about the anxiety unless
- 3:38I'm trying to help someone else in their anxiety, otherwise,
- 3:42it's just a fact of the past. The story I tell myself now is
- 3:47that I live in a state of being empowered to create the world
- 3:51that I want all the time by staying focused on seeing what I
- 3:56want done. And I don't allow myself to go
- 3:59there. I choose what These are driving
- 4:01my bus. I pick the emotion.
- 4:03I want to reside in, I do not allow it to be random.
- 4:07Now, does that sneak up on me sometimes?
- 4:09Yes. You know why?
- 4:10Because I'm freakin human and I would be lying to you if it
- 4:12didn't do. I get aggravated with things
- 4:15absolutely earlier today was completely aggravated.
- 4:17That I was practicing pressing flowers and it seems like a
- 4:20stupid thing but to me it's a big deal.
- 4:22Took took a peek at them and they were molding and I'm like,
- 4:26what the hell? I got very frustrated, but that
- 4:29was only for a few Few moments. And then I paused and said to
- 4:32myself, you know what I need to do?
- 4:33I really need to focus on figuring out what the reason is
- 4:36for this and what are the correct flowers that will do
- 4:39this the right way so that I don't get myself stuck in having
- 4:43a bunch of moldy flowers. Now, very simple example, but
- 4:46meant to teach you something. Tell a better story all of these
- 4:50Gardens this entire Farm. Everything that we do out here
- 4:54is constantly teaching me things and adding to this array of my
- 5:00awareness. - but I don't allow it to become a disempowering
- 5:04story. What I allow it to become is a
- 5:06way forward and I take what I need, I hang on to the good
- 5:09stuff and then just let go of the crappy stuff.
- 5:14Sometimes it's easier said than done but you can't give up
- 5:17because if you don't believe in yourself who's going to believe
- 5:19in you, so hopefully this is helpful.
- 5:22Go tell a better story today. Enjoy your day and be excited
- 5:27about it because guess what? You get to write the story.
- 5:30I hope you. Guys have a blessed day and I
- 5:32will see you tomorrow. Bye.
