Transcript
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: with Nick Kendall and Scott Kennedy.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_02]: To all right, welcome in, welcome in.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: It is Wednesday morning, September third, it's on the last Wednesday until we have real football.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're on the eve of the NFL season.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, I am Nick Kendall, join my Eric trickle as always.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: This is Broncos for breakfast powered by the coffee that I had this morning.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: Little guy was up last night, so I'm just sitting here in a manic state with so little sleep, but we're here.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: We're living the dream.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: We get talk football.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos season.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, how are you, my friend?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_03]: I'm good.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited that football season is just upon us.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: I'm also, you know, on a non football thing.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_03]: I found out that
- 0:49[SPEAKER_03]: I found out the joys of Microsoft Game Pass.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_03]: And so when I was younger, I actually played a video game competitively.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_03]: Here's a war two.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I found out that's on Game Pass.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: And they just remastered the first one.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: I played that with the wife and now we're playing.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_03]: Wouldn't gotten Xbox and now we're playing through those.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: And I know you're not, you don't have time for video games and you do all your hiking, but the wife and I, we enjoy playing video games together.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: So we're enjoying that, which is
- 1:18[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's fun and the kids enjoying it, but also start a schoolwork with the kid in man.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: She's in third grade and next week, I got to start teaching her multiplication.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm not looking forward to that, but
- 1:33[SPEAKER_03]: Football's back starts tomorrow.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited for it.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_03]: Even though I may seem a little tired because I am, but I'm excited for it.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm so glad that, you know, we're back in the group of things where, you know, I love the draft season, but now we're going to talk about actual football.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to talk about the Broncos.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_03]: And then we're going to see, you know, all the hype that we've had over the off season, if it becomes realized at this point.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, very excited for that all.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: Good luck with the multiplication, at least you're not at long division yet, or what is the common core, math, whatever is going on now.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: God bless.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason I studied biology and not chemistry or physics at the end of the day.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: So, appreciate everyone coming.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: We got our guy Mike Thompson, high friends, David, hope you're well, Michael Rankio, the runk.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: I fell out, Rushmore supporter.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: Ron, great to see you.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning to you.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Denver Luke coming in Denver.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get you as a member here at some point.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that's a reminder.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Become a member today of the MHH YouTube side of things that helps us a heck of a lot.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Regardless, we got Mr. Rausch coming in.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos Country.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the offense will be slow.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: The first three quarters and light it up for a two score win.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to be getting into actual Broncos football today against one of the on paper, one of the preseason.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: What's the opposite of a Darwin?
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: Duds?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: I guess that people can listen to me pretty, pretty bad the Tennessee Titans this season, but hey, people are predicting the never Broncos to be pretty bad last season as well.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: But one thing we do have is they've all, they do have the number one overall pick playing over there and can't board.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: Bonix looked like a dud the first two weeks last season.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, almost every past that went more than ten areas was a, oh, hold on to your butts.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: That one's going to be in trouble.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_02]: And then it got much better from there.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: So we're getting them at the right time for sure.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you, Mr. Rouch.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: We got Jake in the house.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning to all who bleed orange and blue.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_02]: You might want to see a doctor there for that one.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: Jake, that doesn't sound normal.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, of course.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: So we appreciate that.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: Michael coming in with a star's five dollar super chat.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_02]: He also says a Tory Franklin is on a mission.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: I hope this entire Broncos team is on a mission.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: No, just not just the Falcons podcast.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: Had other duties had taken care of quick.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're here.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're hanging out football.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos country, Mr. T, Woodley, one great to see a chase in the house.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: Sean was on the rich eyes and show yesterday had a good interview.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't check that out yet, but a rich eyes and his one of the best.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: He's back at ESPN now, right?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: Is that my name?
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they had that surgery back.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_03]: back at the end and it's going to be interesting watching Ian rap important Adam Shefter be colleagues.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully, they don't fight out of Starbucks.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: We got Mark coming in here.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you closer and ever day by day.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: I agreed to see a pearls in the house too.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: There we go.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Pearl, great to see you.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, Hi, Pearl.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: Hope the corks are doing well or guy Roy in the house.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: I see you picked up practice squad, wide receiver from the Vikings.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, that time of year, if he gets called up, we'll pay a little bit more attention.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember the name of the top of my head.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: And that's maybe the last we talk about him.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: I guess hopefully the last we talk about him because NIMS, Sutton, Sherfield, Franklin, Bryant, all have a great season.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: So we're not to worry too much.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Book my string and morning big dogs.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you on the wrong street.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's no big dot knob.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate it.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on a roll catching you guys live.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: Kids in their math work nowadays is not our math we learned.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it was not the Iowa math.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's for sure.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: We were counting corncubs.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_02]: Greg Smith, good to see you.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, in Iowa, you don't have to count up very high because we never score more than, you know, fourteen points in a game.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: So that's, I think that's about the end of it.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: Greg Smith, come in in here.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: Great to see you.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: JB, three degrees is GOW Remasteries.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: Then came to the PS five.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: GOW.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: What is that?
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, trying out the first time it's a pretty fun game.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I never really got as much into the third person shooters, but I don't know, it was fallout third person.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: It might have been actually, I did do some fallout, but other than that, that's RPG, but and not as much video games, just more.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: I walk like three to five miles every day and spend more time outside and most of my TV time is either with you, Eric.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: or watching football, or it's with a wife.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: We have an hour, almost every day, and would I play video games alone or would I rather hang out with her?
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: Mostly hang out with her.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: But I digress football's back, baby.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: First tomorrow, we have a game.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: How are you feeling about the Eagles?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: Taking on is that the Cowboys for that first game?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, I haven't seen, it's weird because I haven't seen much about the season opener and I don't memorize the schedules by week.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen more about the Charger's Chiefs game on Friday and Brazil than I have that was kickoff tomorrow.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_03]: And so I say, Eagles, I can't tell you who they're playing without searching it up.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just a weird year where the Super Bowl champions aren't, you know, getting that attention they normally get prior to kickoff.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it is weird.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: You think there'd be a lot of, it's the cowboys, also with everything that happened with Parsons.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: So eagles are favored by eight and a half.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: I expect the eagles to just beat the absolute hose off of them, whatever that means.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: Use your imagination, I guess.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: With all the turmoil and weirdness, I think that Cowboys team is probably feeling pretty not good with everything that happened with Parsons.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: And when you trade your most valuable best player from the team, right before the season starts, can't feel good for your chances in that locker room immediately.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I'm expecting that.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, you mentioned the game Friday at Sao Paulo.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to be that guy, but are we on injury watch here for that game?
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: If you remember what the turf was like last season in Brazil, it was absolutely horrific and now you have Denver's biggest two hurdles towards winning the playoffs, going against each other's.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, are we setting an over under on season ending injuries?
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: Or is that too morbid?
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I would be scared bleepless if Denver was playing in Sao Paulo week one.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: And now it's Chief Sand, Chief Sand Chargers.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, when it came out that the Broncos are asking for one of the out-of-country games, I was so worried they were going to get Brazil because they were three or four season engine and ending injuries in that game last year.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like they didn't happen like week one, three, four anyway.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: On the times.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_03]: And then adding in being at the on that field that was just a mess.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: There was talk about canceling the game because of how bad the field was.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: There's that late rush to get the field and play quality and players weren't happy.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: So I think it's more bid to put it over under on it.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_03]: But definitely keep it in the eye out for it.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_03]: And already we saw came out that Jalen Royals won't be playing in the game.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_03]: He's done with an injury for the Chiefs.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: So it's it's it's going to be one that's interesting in that aspect.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care outside of that really.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I end up watching the game because they're to opponents of Rancos face and then with the Eagles Cowboys game adding to it is.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned the locker room.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: I just got to wonder how many people in that locker room are realizing how terrible Jerry Jones is after that press conference of constantly referring to Micah Parsons as Michael talking about how the defense is going to get better even though the Cowboys defense last year was one of the better ones when Micah Parsons was on the field and then the flat out worst in EPA per play.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: When he wasn't on the field and yet he's expecting to get better and they didn't really do a whole lot to add that defense to add to that defense.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: So it's that I'm more interested in that one just because I want to see how the players and the coaches respond on the field with all that has happened so publicly between Jones and their star player who's no longer with them.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: Ugly ugly ugly.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for that Friday game.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_02]: That'll be a lot of fun.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: I
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: don't know if I have any plans right now for Friday.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe you have to pull that one up.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it should be great.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got a quick and cold will in the house.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: Michael city cents support some MHH Mountain Breastmore team.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_02]: You're on the Mount Rushmore.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you coming in.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_02]: We got Steven Bumgarner coming in awesome to see a appreciate you.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: And now let's get into it, Eric.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: Titans.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: I am thinking, I said it last night.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: I need to write up.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: I need to remember to write up and send it to Chad so I don't forget because I have friends wedding coming up and it's parents are here packing up the house.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: You shouldn't use, you can't even imagine how many boxes I have here to the right.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, these are the packed up ready to go.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_02]: Probably like, twenty five.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: Right now, but they're big.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: But we're doing it slowly a bit surely, but I need to get the right up in.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_02]: I have Denver winning this one, twenty seven to thirteen.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: I expect them to control the flow of the game pretty well.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think Cam Ward is going to be swimming a little bit and I expect Denver to load up to stop the run.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: The big concern for me in this one is same as any.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: You give up a few fluke explosive plays, you know, one misdesignments and it's a seven year touchdown that changes the flow of the game and also turnovers penalties.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: Those are the classic ones.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to drop this one here.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell he proves me that he's trustworthy.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: Hunter Jeremy Krasha.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: Bad puns here are there.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: Titans get a easy touchdown early because he has a shank that you know, ten yard kind of punt changes the flow of the game.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: So you can be the worst team, but if you get behind ten points early, the other team can park the bus and it can be it can get hard for you.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: You start to get a little tight.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: So I expect him to win this one, but
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: If they lose this one, it's one because they coughed it up and choked.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: And we didn't see that last year from Denver at all, like they beat the teams they're supposed to beat handily.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: But will that trend continue?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_03]: And before, while I was waiting on you to finish up with Scott and forced to go live, I was getting up my not going to write him up today, but I was picking out, you know, what are my key matchups on the offense against a defense that defense against the offense and then my bold predictions.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_03]: And you actually touched on, I believe, four of the five that I had.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_03]: And just kind of funny because like as I was doing it a lot of it went back to the conversation we were having on Monday, Jeremy Krasha has won in there.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_03]: But I have Denver winning this one.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: I believe twenty four to nine.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think they allow some movement.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think they have a break in coverage and I'm not sure.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_03]: At this moment, Cam Ward is a guy who may recognize a breaking coverage and take advantage of it at the NFL level.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_03]: He has a really bad habit of drifting back in the pocket and throughout the preseason.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: We saw that miss a lot of open receivers.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think Denver gives him a route awakening to the NFL.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think they sack him a lot.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_03]: That's actually one of the bold predictions that I have.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_03]: And I think on offense, I think Sean Payton is going to try to prove himself right when it comes to the run game.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think that they're going to pound the ball a lot just to prove that he's right that the run game is going to get going and try to force it against the Titans.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be surprised if it's like a sixty forty run pass.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's I think really think he's going to try to force it.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: And for me.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: That makes me nervous because the weakness of the Broncos offense, as I perceive right now, is that interior duo, not getting much movement.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: And without doubt, the strength of the Titan's defense is to vondrous sweat and Jeremy Simmons in the middle.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is going to be a game where it's bone X peppering them.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Sean Peyton wants to approve him right.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't know if this is the game for it.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're not quite fully all cylinders running in the outside zone.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: The zone work right now and sweat and Simmons are while they're not the most dynamic.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: Pass rushing defensive tackle duo in football as far as mass and strength.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if there's anybody who touches them.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then you add to it, you have one of their edge rusters being dream on Jones who played four eye for Denver, you know, three technique, right?
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: He's listed as an edge rusher.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: So they're built strong.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I guess you can try to really focus in on ardent key and their linebackers are not great in the run defense.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: Cody Barton, glad you got a contract.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you last season, buddy.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this is a
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: Sean Payton is arrogant and they definitely are excited about the run game.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: I still think this is going to be one though where the personal lines up where it's quick past game, bonus, get it?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm expecting, I'm expecting, I'm expecting, Brian, I'm expecting Dobbant.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll be curious to see how the run game looks in this one because if there's anywhere the Titans have a win on paper in this matchup, it's the Titans defense attack rules versus the Broncos interior offensive line.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: Clean miners, you're absolved.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: Even though you didn't have the best preseason, you're absolved from that one, but what in Bergen power is you are, you know, on the poopless necessarily from you, but you're on the, I don't trust you.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't love you list.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's one of those things.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, and adding to it is, you know, you mentioned the outside zone scheme and that wasn't looking great.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: And that just adds to it.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think that Peyton's gonna look at this game as trying to help get that going and help get the wrinkles ironed out, so to speak.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: And then using the passing uniform back on.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like if things aren't working, you know, if they get, you know, behind the sticks a little bit or it's, you know, they don't do anything on first sound.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_03]: Second down, they'll pet, I think they'll look to the past.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're going to use a lot and just use the passing game off the running game.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: Kind of like old school mentality, whereas now more modern thinking as you pat, you run off the past.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's going to be that they're going to pass off the run.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_03]: and use that to try to open things up.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_03]: And again, just try to force it.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_03]: Try to get Luke Watt and Bergen Ben Powers up to speed on it.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_03]: Having some conversations, there seems to be some, I don't want to say confusion, but some,
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: Communication errors with the offensive one especially with the outside zone outside zone so that at the moment that they want to wrinkle out So you mentioned sweat and Simmons and yeah, they're tough until you're under fenders But I still think that Denver's gonna do what they can to run outside of it Dremont Jones isn't a very good run defender He wasn't really a good one and then really decent enough to get by and
- 16:04[SPEAKER_03]: But he was definitely a weaker link.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_03]: Arden key has been a good pass for us or for them, not a great run defender.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned his linebackers.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_03]: And even the safety is coming downhill aren't the best.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_03]: They do have a pretty decent slot corner that against the run.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: And then their outside corners, their hit or miss.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_03]: So there's a lot going for them to really attack the outside zone in particular with the run game and trying to get that aspect of it going.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_03]: So I think it's still going to be forced and then he's in the past game off of that.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: Do you worry?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: So watching, again, everything comes back to Iowa football at the end of the day.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Iowa outside zone to the short side of the field.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: You can freaking bet on it.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's what Kirk Ferris wants on.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: They switch it up a little bit now.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: They're adding more power.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: But for years, it's outside zone, short side of the field.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And what you think of that, you think of guys
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: moving in space in the athleticism and running away from defensive tackles.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: But if you also think about it, if you have a line of offensive linemen, let's one, two, three, four, five, and the guy in the lead, let's say you're running to the left and it's been powers and the defense attack will cut some off.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody on the back side stops.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: as well.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a halt right there.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I do worry.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: You think about, well, we just run away from them to the outside, not necessarily if you are getting blown back immediately, the entire integrity of the offensive line moving in concert is destroyed.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I do worry about that specifically with Wattenberg and Powers in there.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: their movement skills.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: I guess power, especially with the movement skills, stuff, uh, Warnberg moves okay just these young bits kind of play to hand sometimes when he tries to make contact with guys, they just kind of crumple.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, so, I don't know, I'm, I'm maybe going to try to get a little bit more.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with you, like trying to get these guys running side to side.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think it might be more RPO centric and wide receiver starting wide receiver on the DevTart, Eric.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: Marvin Mims, maybe we see the screen gain, are the reverse and the screen gain, get implemented, because I think you do have to tire out those defensive tackles.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't necessarily believe in the offensive line winning those matchups at least early on.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think you got to loosen them up with different designs.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't fully disagree with that.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's, again, it just comes back to Sean Peyton and, you know, the arrogance he has in the coach of always having to prove himself right.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: We saw it last year.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, against Seattle in the season opener.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: What did he do?
- 18:33[SPEAKER_03]: He wanted to prove himself right that Bonax was the guy.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: So he kind of spanned Bonax quite a bit to start the season and kind of faltered, even even in Seattle, in particular, the run game was actually rather effective in that first half.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_03]: And then he went away from it in the second half.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I could see it kind of be in the same thing for better or worse.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_03]: Just this time with the run game and particularly, you know, RJ Harvey, getting him the reps, getting him to be the guy.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: I think that if they can do more insight stuff, I think it's going to obviously be more dobbins.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_03]: As he does bring a little bit more of that power to, you know, if sweat blows it up or someone blows it up, maybe he can, you know, turn a loss into like a yard pick up or something.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_03]: But it is a thing of
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: Again, outside, I think they're going to look at work at hiring them out and Sean Payton trying to prove himself right that Harvey's the guy just because again, it was a pick that's still being questioned to buy a lot of people and Sean Payton, he is one of those coaches that does listen to outside noise.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_03]: So when he hears something that questioning something he did, he just likes to prove them wrong.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_03]: And so
- 19:42[SPEAKER_03]: For better or worse, I think they're going to spam it.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think Broncos will struggle.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_03]: I'm actually an agreement with you when it comes to the offensive line of the concerns, but it all comes down to Sean Payton and his arrogance as a coach and desire to always be right.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like he has that, but not to the point where it's detrimental, large sample size, but we'll see.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: I will say right now for the Broncos running game, taking off this week, that would be an underdog story for me, for Denver.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: This week's specific, I think it's going to be a bonus efficiency game, which is good enough to get the win.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: But again, Titan's massive, massive underdogs in this one, although sometimes Eric, we do like underdogs.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not this week, but we do like an underdog.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, speaking of underdogs, football is back and underdog is the best place to make picks and when money all season long.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_03]: Playing on underdog is easy.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_03]: Just pick whether your fan for your favorite players will go higher or lower on stats like touchdowns, receiving our interceptions and so much more.

- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: experience in the chat as well.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: So good way to support the show.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: So do that.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Helps us a heck of a lot.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's been going to help Dave Glassman in the house.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: Great to see you in Congo.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of got to this last night, Eric.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: In the NFL, a win as a win as a win.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm predicting twenty seven thirteen, like I said, but let's say Denver wins this one.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: Seventeen to sixteen.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have plenty to, you know, grind our teeth about, but come week eight, teen.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to show as a win in the win column and a not a boss in the lost column.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: So there are no style points in the NFL.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we can have stuff and individual matchups to analyze.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure if Denver doesn't meet expectations, but we are not to the point where we can be booing Denver winning by ten or whatever.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't half like that.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: Jack's game back in.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: twenty thirteen twenty fourteen uh... maybe it's a titans that they played where dinner fans were booing uh... at half time even though they were winning you know that's uh... we're not that spoiled yet i hope we can get there again but uh... a win is a win uh... and that's what counts at the end of the day this isn't uh... at the example is last night was a high-state play in acran where if you went by one point you're gonna lose ranking counts the same in the stack on you in a hundred to zero you win three to two
- 23:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's it's a win to win.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_03]: And then if you know, if they don't, if they went by one point, seventeen, sixteen, obviously there's going to be a lot of talk about what went wrong.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm sure there are going to be some Barack fans that like, oh, no, they see the sky is following everything's over.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_03]: We barely beat a bad Titan scene, but it's also the first game of the season.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos starters only saw like fifty total snaps over the preseason give or take.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_03]: and they only played in two games.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_03]: They're still putting things together.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_03]: So if there's a little bit of some struggles to start the season, it's not the end of it.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, you'll be a lot for us to talk about Monday morning and throughout the week of, well, this is what we're wrong.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_03]: This is where the Broncos need to improve.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_03]: But you know, it's still, it's game one.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be surprised if there are some struggles.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_03]: I still expect on a handle business.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but I think it's going to be a game where the defense really takes over just because of camords struggling in the, you know, as first we start and
- 24:58[SPEAKER_03]: the issues that he has the issues with their offensive line.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_03]: But the offense, I could still see them struggling, but it didn't get to Congress that there are no matter what, there's going to be fans that basically lose their mind in some way when it comes to it.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_03]: Because if the Broncos do blow at the time, they're going to get those fans that are like, we're going to go on to feed it.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to be perfect.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: And like nothing's wrong with this team.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: Either way, you get fans that are on the extreme end of things.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time,
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: We love it.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: We try to be grounded in reality.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of put that aside during the game itself.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: I like to feel the game in the afterwards.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: OK, got that out of my system.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: I tried to mostly get it out on Saturday with the Hawkeye's getting rationally upset or ridiculous, but for the games themselves, especially hindsight analysis or perspective analysis.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: much more grounded.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Try to be.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: You guys can let us know if we're not doing it though.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: We got Nelson good morning front fellas from Virginia.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see at East Coast.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: Gen X. I've mine couldn't agree more.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: We were creating bridges.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: We may not be able to fill wins wins a win.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: Stay healthy and walk out of the dub and that's all that matters.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: Aaron Cooley coming over on Facebook.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning to you.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: Aaron says defense should have a big game.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_02]: I see multiple sex coming from multiple players.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this could be a a big
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: big sack game.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds fun.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: A game with a lot of tackles behind the line of skirmish for the Broncos.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: I really think the defense of plan is going to be pretty simple.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know, execute your assignments.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: Take away the run.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to make this easy on camera.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: How do you make it easy?
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: Same formula of the Broncos followed last season for making it easy on Bonix.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: And the run game wasn't right by any means, but Denver wasn't in a lot of third and fourteen's very often.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know, there was not a lot of the really horrible obvious drop-backed past situations.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: But if you get him in a obvious drop-backed past situations, that's where I think things can snowball, sex, intercept, this strip, sex, blah, blah, blah.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_02]: So take away the run.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think that is, it's, it's sounds simple.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's obviously easy at the end of the day, but make Cam Ward beach.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: And if he does rookie first game on the road,
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: God bless, tip your cap, but I'm not going to, how do you make it hard on him, make them one dimensional, put it on the quarterback to get it done, especially because they don't have, you know, a Julio Jones Justin Jefferson type that he can spam the football to.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: So otherwise the goal would be, you know, triple-teaming double-teaming and taking away this security monkey, but right now I think it's take away the run, make it hard, make it third and long, make him have to use the full field on obvious dropbacks.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and taking away the run, this is an offensive line where they should be able to do that, even with some of the concerns that they have against the run, because this offensive line doesn't look like it's going to be good.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_03]: Peter Scronsky, he had a great preseason.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: He was great last year.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_03]: He looks like a stable offensive line, and for them, but everything else around them looks very questionable.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think Dan Moore signed one of the biggest tackle contracts in the NFL this season.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he was
- 28:06[SPEAKER_03]: Very deserving of it.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_03]: Not that he's a bad tackle.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_03]: There's just a very big weakness to his game.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_03]: And I think Nick Benito is the right guy to take advantage of that or Jonah Ellis against the run.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_03]: I do in the run game.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_03]: I should be clear though.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Dan Moore does have a very clear edge over Nick Benito has the edge in the in the past game.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_03]: But JC Latham did not have a good review was terrible last year.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_03]: And played in the preseason and he looks worse.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_03]: It looked like his techniques took a step back.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_03]: Lloyd Kushnberry, he didn't play in the preseason played.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I think right under five hundred a sound pleasure before he got hurt and he was playing terribly before he got hurt.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: And then they brought in the new guard as well.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_03]: Kevin Zeatler, they brought him in.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: So there's a bunch of new pieces coming in.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: You're betting on development of a second year player.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: You're hoping Lloyd Gushingberry's able to bounce back and
- 29:04[SPEAKER_03]: live up to that big contract they give them.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of questions on this offensive line and even though the Broncos defense has questions about their ability to stop the run consistently or you know get those negative plays in the run game.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: They should be able to win against this offensive line both in the run game to set up the certain lungs and then have the pieces to take advantage of that by getting sex or generating pressures for turnovers on on third and long or an obvious passing downs.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: So this is one of those areas where
- 29:32[SPEAKER_03]: The broadcast should be able to win consistently in the trenches on the defensive side of the ball.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_03]: And this is a game for our both sides.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think the defensive line has the advantage in the trenches for both teams.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have any matchups specifically on the defensive side of the ball that you are?
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: I actually want to.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: One that you're thinking the Broncos should just absolutely dominate, and I also want one that you're a little weary of.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos defense, like you mentioned, they should win this one pretty infatibly, but is there any area on this team that you're like, nah, I'm not so sure about that one.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: So the one matchup that I think that the Broncos should be able to dominate is Nick Benito against Dan Moore in the passing game specifically.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: And then the one that I'm kind of weary of, Chicago Conquo.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's a very underrated tight end.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_03]: He's really started to emerge last year.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_03]: He's one of those basically a big receiver doesn't do much as a blocker.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: And with Drake Greenlaw on a pitch count and the concerns behind him, I have a lot of worry about him being that outlet for a cam word and is just able to take over the game in an aspect.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_03]: And if it wasn't a conco, it'd be Tyler Lockett against Jake Juan McMillan in the slide, just because he's such a good veteran and savvy veteran that he'll be able to pick up on the weaknesses of McMillan and potentially be able to exploit them.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_03]: And both of them seem to be those quick game outlets.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: So if the Titans want to avoid that pressure and go more quick game, those would be the two players that I'm looking at being those that main target.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm glad you brought up the tight end.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: He has been a pretty good player to come from Maryland.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: Is that where you ask it from?
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: Off top of my head.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's a decent player.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt to jig as fourth round pick from a couple of years ago tight ends a lot of times take time to help.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's small or six to two, two, forty, two, thirty, five.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_02]: But with Denver Broncos linebackers being on a pitch count, that is one that I am
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I'm somewhat worried about.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, you had a green law, single thing you have, the safety, uh, I'll say it might be more of a Hathanga.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: And to quantum McMillan assignment and responsibility, then it is actually the lineback, especially if those, uh, the two linebackers reportedly are going to be on a pitch count.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but that is one where it is.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: concern, it just doesn't feel like it's explosive enough.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's a chain moving one, but with a rookie quarterback, can they consistently, you know, hit their mid range jump shot to march on the field and get seven instead of three.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't know if they have that explosive element.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: So as long as Denver's taking away the run game,
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: The ball is going to have to go somewhere, and there will be some level of bleeding from the defense, because this isn't, again, Ohio State versus let's give another team an straight at this point.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: Toledo, that's a pretty good mac team, but young town, young town state will go with even smaller there, shout out to the penguins.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that's an area that I do think is interesting, but Denver's defense
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: should dominate this one.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's one of Denver is giving them, you know, they're moving the ball efficiently and scoring points.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we should come in, you know, Monday, Wednesday, a little bit like, oh, uh, I know it's only one game, but that's not what you want to see versus a Titans team that is really lacking firepower.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now, they have really invested in the offensive line and it is year two underneath
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: Their head coach whose name's escaped me right now, but his dad is one of the best offensive line coaches in football.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: So they have Latham there.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: They have Peter Skaranski as well.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: Two first round picks.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: They paid.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: They bring in sightler.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, we'll see, the Titans defense though is the more, Broncos often's first Titan's defense, and I guess they're more even matchup at the end of the day.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: The defense still has a ways to go for that Titans team, especially in the back seven.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: They did trade and pay, luxurious need last off season.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: They have drafted Roger McCree, Jarvis Brownland, a pretty good rookie season, but isn't like,
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: Is it a good rookie season in a sense that he got opportunity because they're a bad team?
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so he plays or is it that is actually a very good player in the end, same with McCreeory out there as well.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: So big concern for me is again, those two defensive tackles along with Dremont Jones and Sebastian Joseph Day.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: They got some some meet up front, which doesn't lend itself to Denver being overly
- 34:04[SPEAKER_02]: dominant on the ground.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's got to be a bonus game.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's got to be a bonus being efficient being smart.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe picking up some yards with his legs as well because they are bigger.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he's not going to be chased around as much.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: So there'll be opportunities for him to, you know, first two reads aren't there.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lane.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to pick up six yards and get out of bounds.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Just being smart, efficient, and I think that should be enough, just because outside the defense attack, they just don't really have any heavy hitters, uh, star power players on the defense in my opinion.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they have their secondary, their corners in particular, they could be
- 34:42[SPEAKER_03]: a good unit.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_03]: Roger McCurray, he's been one of the better nickels over the last couple of years.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_03]: Really physical, really good run defender in particular.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_03]: Does have some weaknesses in the past in game.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: The gerious need, does he bounce back?
- 34:56[SPEAKER_03]: Like he hasn't been the best since leaving Kansas City.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: So can he bounce back from that?
- 35:01[SPEAKER_03]: And then drivers Brown, he initially got his start because of injury.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_03]: It wasn't it wasn't even where he played to earn it and he the guys two guys I believe ahead of him got hurt and he came out and he played decently well and One guy that the Titans have Titans reporters stuff have hyped up a lot for taking that next up is Brownley So I'm really curious to see what he is he's a guy that I know Lance was really big on coming out of the draft and I was decently high on him So curious about that but the defensive line those front three they're very
- 35:34[SPEAKER_03]: talented because even we, I mean, we talked about what in Simmons, but even they have Sebastian Joseph Day.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_03]: He's their other guy and he's a pretty solid player as well.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_03]: But the outside linebackers, I think they have some concerns there with Ardenki and Dremont Jones, particularly against the run.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_03]: Talked about that a lot earlier in the show about being able to attack the edges and then the linebackers, Cedric Gray and Cody Barton.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: This duo screams that they are going to be like Denver last year, granted Cody Barton, let's part of it.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_03]: But Senator Gray, when I watch him, he's just so similar to Justin Sernod with where the strengths and the weaknesses lie.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_03]: That I think Denver could find ways to take advantage of that.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_03]: Cody Barton is what he is.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_03]: I know a lot of people in Denver were surprised at the contract that he got based off of his play last year.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: I know people outside of Denver were surprised as well.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_03]: And it was a move that was described as screaming of desperation for something better at linebacker.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_03]: And so I think that they'll be able to do that.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_03]: So you mentioned the quick passing game.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_03]: And with Sean Payton's love for attacking the middle of the field, I could see him trying to do a lot of those dig routes and getting that going.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_03]: trying to lay it up, you know, for Evan Ingraham or Portland Sutton or whoever, you know, in that area of the field, that's just behind the lion backers ahead of the safeties.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_03]: And this goes back to his desire.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think I think what will be his desire anyways to get the run game going of using that to help pull those lion backers up to create an even bigger opening for that area of the field for his bone X and his receivers to exploit because Barton was terrible about giving up that extra space and gray isn't any better.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we do have Gen X asking us late if you already covered this, what's stronger for the Titan's defense passing around.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: We said run just because Tavandres sweat and Jeremy Simmons are.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_02]: One of the better stuffy defense attack will do is to find out what I know that he had some questions about maturity and what not coming out of Texas, but he hooked pretty damn good last season.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: I still laugh about his interception in that Cincinnati game.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: We'll have a special but he was awesome and Simmons has been one of the more underrated defensive tackles in football for a while.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's not, you know, Chris Jones as far as his Gumby like flexibility and ability to get after the passer, but he is
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: grown man strong.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have those stronger punches in all of the NFL.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_02]: So the run, the defense attack will do is the identity of this team and it's going to make it tough for Denver to run between the middle.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about a heavy way matchup.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: Quinn miners versus whoever the defense tackle is lined up against him is going to be interesting and they're built for more power up front.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: They're built.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: They're not going to necessarily be the best pass rushing unit at the end of the day because they don't.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: They're not dominant.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: with the edge rushers, so they don't have a line back, or you can be that versatile chess piece, rusher, necessarily, but they're big.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to, they're both a soft run.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's again, I come back to bone-expping smart quick pass game, getting them running inside this side.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know, stretch them horizontally and doesn't necessarily have to be the pitch or outside zone, but reverses, RPOs, maybe a little bit of trickery, just get that foot speed, get them going the wrong way.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: They're big upfront.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: So if their shoulders are pointing the wrong way, it's a little bit harder for them to redirect.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: Did we want to talk about before we get out of here?
- 38:52[SPEAKER_02]: Eric, let's see at a point to add on that one.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: I did want to talk about Bill Barnwell saying the Broncos are going to miss the playoffs this season as well.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_02]: Anything about my points about the defense?
- 39:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we just pre touch on what we talked about at the five minute mark.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_03]: I was gonna say with that is adding to it is when you have big guys like that, one big issue is change direction.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't change direction very well.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_03]: Simmons for as good as he is.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_03]: He kind of struggles with it.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_03]: The linebackers, they struggle if they start going one way, they struggle to stop and then start moving the other way.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_03]: So a lot of missed direction stuff and getting them moving one way and attacking the other, forcing the change direction.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_03]: That's another way that the Broncos I think can find ways to win against this Titan defense.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_02]: And we saw, I know that supposed to be more boots and outside zone for the offense this season, but Denver was number, I think they're number one in the NFL and sprint outs, last season with bonus, a lot of high lows with one side of the field, you know, making it, I want to call it training wheels, because that sounds derogatory to bonus, but they made it.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: pretty simple training wheels for him.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they weren't asking him, you know, under center dropbacks full field of breeds very often.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I expect, you know, moving the pocket, making those big bodies move and change directions.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 40:06[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of that, I think Denver does have an advantage.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I just don't pay any good enough coach that he's not, if it's not working, he's going to figure out ways around it to still get the efficiency from it because I don't, I just don't think Denver's built to win just right up the gut in this game with the bodies of the Titans have.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see you.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: So Bill Barnwell.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: picked his a fourteen team playoffs and he says Denver out of the playoffs this year is the chief swing in the AFC West he doesn't have the chargers making it and it says Denver's out he writes in his article and I respect Bill he's I think it's gonna be wrong but I respect Bill I says in twenty twenty four the Broncos had the league's best defense on a per play basis leading all teams in expected points added per snap shout out to EPA
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: Just about every meaningful player returns from that unit, and the Broncos added Drake Greenlaw.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: First from Peix out of Aaron, he doesn't mention a phonga, but he's in here too.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: But we know defense is more variable than offense from year to year, even in their dominant, twenty, twenty, four campaign.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos are the highest variance of any defense in a week-to-week basis for the FTN football, Almanac.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about that as well.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: Defence should still be good, of course, but vanstosive group probably doesn't project as the top and the league in, twenty, twenty, five.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_02]: And we've talked about all that as well, Eric.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: About expectations, probably.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: five.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: If they're top eight, it's okay.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: We're expecting top five and expecting number one.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_02]: But after that, he writes, can the offense make up for any decline on defense?
- 41:27[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: There are positives from Bonax last season, but the Broncos face one of the leagues easier schedules of opposing defenses.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: And Nix's success often aligned with friendlier matchups on the docket.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: Coach Sean Peyton was careful to shield Nix from drop-back passing situations against tough competition.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_02]: And with a great defense, Nix wasn't often asked to throw a ton from behind.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: When he was including the bills in the Ravens, the results weren't great.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos were one in seven versus teams of the winning record before the blowout victory against the chiefs JV squad in week eighteen and after making the football season the Broncos will face tougher schedule in twenty five.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: They went six and one in games decided by seven points or less including a loss that should have been a statement when over the chiefs at Arrowhead.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes stuff happens.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't hold that one against Denver necessarily, but they competed there.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: Although most of their narrow games look closer than they were because of late scores by Denver.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't materially impact the outcome.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure about that one.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: He might be right.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: He must be right.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: Bulls does his work, but it feels like they, in a lot of the games they were closer.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: If you think Nick's takes the next step, Broncos should be ahead of the chargers.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not as confident, which is why the Broncos narrowly miss out in my bracket.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the one thing that he doesn't have lean on here that at this point, we all should be leaning on is that the chargers hurt and upset some ancient god or builds a practice facility on a burial ground or something.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: And you already saw for Sean Slater get hurts, they've had running back, I think Dings and bruises already, they're pretty old at wide receiver and
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: Are we also expecting some chargers regression on defense everybody's talking about the Broncos but the chargers had a good defense last year without having a lot of star players.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: Why can't the chargers defense regress as well.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: So again, I expect the Broncos defense are offense to be better this season.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I expect Bonix to be slightly better.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: I expect the run game to be slightly better.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: So at the end, it probably, like when we talked about results in for me, about the same win-moss record, eleven wins is where I have them at, with that variance also.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: Bring up the puncher watch again.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on you, Aussie.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love those.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love Australia, but I, man, you're on watch for me, Krasha, but I think Denver makes the playoffs.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I know that it's kind of
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's fine to still question Bonix.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: Any points on the reasons why then we've talked about, Ampl, I love the content of this.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: I just disagree to the extent that how much I believe in Sean Payton putting Denver in the right situation and his amplifying effect on the offense on the whole.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, with with barn roll, I got to say looking through it.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_03]: He also doesn't have the commanders making it.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't have the Texans making the playoffs.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_03]: He has a Jaguars winning the the AFC South.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_03]: He has the Pittsburgh Steelers making it as a wildcard team.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_03]: One man's opinion at the end of the day, and I have a lot of respect for vulnerable in the work he does.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_03]: I just disagree with ninety percent of what he has in this article.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_03]: As for what he wrote specifically about the Broncos in particular about them being one in six in those one score games and it wasn't really meaningful.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_03]: It was though outside of maybe the first loss of the chargers where the chargers really change up their defense in the second half and how they're playing.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos leading the Broncos to come back a little bit.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_03]: The rest of the games that were one score game, so rest of those losses were not just because just because them were scored late.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_03]: The Bangle's game.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Denver actually tied it and brought it to overtime.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_03]: Like that is impactful on the game, even though they ended up losing.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_03]: The Charger's game, the second one, they actually had the lead until the weird end of first half and the Charger's game on the second half and took it over.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_03]: The sealer's game.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_03]: They were in that one literally until the end.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_03]: We were at that game and they, even though they weren't doing well offensively, they still had a chance to relate in the game to go and win it.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_03]: The Seahawks game was another one where they kind of, it was kind of a little bit of a back and forth.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_03]: So I, I'd not entirely, I'm not in agreement with that with that statement there.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: The rest of it, defensive regression, the variance week to week last year.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_03]: That's all,
- 45:36[SPEAKER_03]: you know, find and Andy the fact that there are one and seven against teams with the winning record before the cancer chiefs jv squad.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's something that we've talked about a lot as well on here.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_03]: It's something that I've talked about a lot on the valley fibers on Friday night and it's just one of the things of, yeah, you've got to win those games.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_03]: You got to beat the winning teams, but first step is you really got to beat the win those games that you're supposed to win.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_03]: Denver did that hope as they do that this year.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_03]: I was telling that they have enough of those games that they should win on the schedule this year to get them close to the playoffs and
- 46:12[SPEAKER_03]: Again, it just comes down to, I think that they pull, I think they do a little bit better against those teams with the winning record.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_03]: I think that, oh, there's a lot of other teams that do take a step back, like the Chargers like the Texans, and Denver's able to win those.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_03]: And we've talked about four.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_03]: I have them going third gen and four.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_03]: That's making the playoffs at the very least.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_03]: I have them winning the division as well.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_03]: In the end, come January.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see who's right.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we will.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we will.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to wrap it up here.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: Don't sell.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_02]: We got Troy first.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_02]: Don't want to skip out on ninety nine from Troy.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: It says that the Broncos loses this week.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: I predict to melt down like after the Dalton's Dolphins game.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: Hi, everyone.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: But with you two is Russell Wilson first game with the Broncos level.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_02]: I hope we win this week.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_02]: Denver should win.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't expect it to be a Dolphins like game.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: People obviously will be freaking out because you have to, this is a tough division.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: And AFC is loaded with superstar quarterbacks.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you cannot drop Gimmies at the end of the day.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_02]: Then you're playing catch up and have to make up in a Broncos again.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and two whole last season dug out and made the playoffs.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_02]: But at Denver's the team, we expect them to be.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: And more importantly, the team, they expect them to be.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: They need to win this game.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I did want to give a shout.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Troy so much.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_02]: We also got David says surgery went okay.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_02]: Took nine hours, which was long.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: Lost a lot of blood.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: I see you now.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: No movement.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: Well, surgery went okay.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll take that.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: I sounded worse from down down the sentence from there, but thinking of you, David, and hopefully things, your bouncing off the floor right now and trying to knock from here.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I hope you're doing well.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: And on the road to recovery, David.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: And Eric wrapping up the show here, seven, thirty one, my time eight, thirty one mountain time score prediction.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: You said something to six, twenty to six, twenty four to nine, twenty four to nine, twenty four to nine.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I got twenty seven, thirteen.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see you, baby.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's here.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_02]: We'll find that a lot.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_02]: Week by week game by game.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: David also comes in dropping the super jet after a surgery.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_02]: He got a blessy day.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's crazy.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_02]: Show us, go longer says Coach Chris.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_02]: Well,
- 48:21[SPEAKER_02]: I got to do fatherly stuff, Eric's got to do work.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_02]: It is what we're here for an hour.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_02]: Give her take, you know, ten, fifteen minutes.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_02]: How much will Drake play?
- 48:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'll call thirty five snaps.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'll say right around fifty to fifty five percent of the defensive snaps.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_03]: Right about thirty five.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_03]: Typically about seventy snaps.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: It'd be nice if it was less because that means they're broncos are just dominating time and position and everything.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_02]: But, appreciate everyone coming in, shout out to David, appreciate you, Michael Rankio, Coach Chris, twenty dollars for coming over for the stakes in the beer.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe lower the degrees in the temperature on the pool, eighty-four degree pool sounds hot to me, I don't know, maybe I'm soft now after living in the Pacific Northwest.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Eric Funcho.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to Underdog as well.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you guys are becoming a member over on MHH YouTube.

- 49:38[SPEAKER_02]: Next go ahead.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I was just going to say I just clicked over a Twitter and apparently Sean Peyton almost became the head coach of the Raiders years ago and then Jerry Jones got in the way.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_03]: He's didn't interview with Peter Schreger that he just was talking about it.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_03]: Interesting.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, glad that didn't happen.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_02]: And, uh, man, we're hanging out.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're having a good time.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to get on out of here.
