- 0:00Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York.
- 0:02Speaker 2: It's the Mark sim Own Show on seven tenor well.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Shutdown is over. We'll get to that. We'll get to
- 0:12Speaker 1: the BBC. They're in big trouble reputation wise. We'll get
- 0:16Speaker 1: to Mom Donnie exactly who is he putting in City
- 0:19Speaker 1: Hall and what does it mean. We'll get to Tiss James.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We'll get to MSNBC. It's in its final week right now.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Friday's the final day of MSNBC. We'll get to Jimmy
- 0:29Speaker 1: Kimmel and his a nutty wife, and a whole lot more.
- 0:32Speaker 1: The shutdown is over, as is the career of Chuck Schumer.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It comes to an end with this. He'll never recover
- 0:39Speaker 1: from this disaster. The Senate voted to end things. They
- 0:43Speaker 1: decided to do it with the same exact deal they
- 0:46Speaker 1: could have had forty five days ago. Nothing changed, absolutely nothing.
- 0:50Speaker 1: A lot of people think they wanted that shutdown on
- 0:53Speaker 1: during the election, thinking it would in some way help
- 0:56Speaker 1: him in the election. But it's over, it's done, and
- 1:02Speaker 1: the House will vote on it. They won't be able
- 1:03Speaker 1: to do it today, probably tomorrow, the House will vote
- 1:05Speaker 1: on it and then the government reopens. As far as
- 1:08Speaker 1: the air traffic controllers, it'll take till the weekend to
- 1:11Speaker 1: get them back. That'll be a slower process. So by
- 1:17Speaker 1: there's still canceling flights today and tomorrow and probably Thursday
- 1:22Speaker 1: as well, but by Friday or Saturday it should be fixed.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Hey.
- 1:25Speaker 1: President Trump said that, you know, a lot of the
- 1:27Speaker 1: air traffic controllers decided if they weren't getting paid, they're
- 1:30Speaker 1: not coming to work. And a lot of them decided
- 1:32Speaker 1: to come to work even without getting paid. And President
- 1:35Speaker 1: Trump said he's going to try to arrange a ten
- 1:38Speaker 1: thousand dollars bonus for every controller that worked through the shutdown,
- 1:43Speaker 1: which is which is a great idea. So it's over.
- 1:47Speaker 1: The shutdown ended. It's now the longest one in history.
- 1:50Speaker 1: The longest before had been twenty eighteen thirty five days.
- 1:54Speaker 1: That was during Donald Trump's presidency. They get shut down
- 1:58Speaker 1: crazy when Trump is an office. So this was the
- 2:00Speaker 1: longest one ever went past the thirty five days. It's
- 2:05Speaker 1: over nothing. They didn't get anything as a result of
- 2:09Speaker 1: the shutdown, but that's always the case. There's never been
- 2:11Speaker 1: a case where any party ever achieved anything with a shutdown.
- 2:16Speaker 1: The shutdown Caucus is zero for fourteen they've never gotten
- 2:19Speaker 1: anything out of it. It's a good thing that's over
- 2:22Speaker 1: finally and everything gets back to normally. He's the president based.
- 2:26Speaker 3: On everything I'm hearing. They haven't changed anything, and we
- 2:29Speaker 3: have support from enough Democrats, and we're going to be
- 2:33Speaker 3: opening up our country so bad it was closed, but
- 2:36Speaker 3: we'll be opening up our country very quickly. The deal
- 2:39Speaker 3: is very good. We're not going to be giving one
- 2:41Speaker 3: and a half trillion dollars to people that came in
- 2:44Speaker 3: from jails and from you know, the gangs and drug
- 2:47Speaker 3: dealers and all of these others that they wanted to
- 2:50Speaker 3: be given healthcare, which would have hurt our healthcare system.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that was part of the ridiculous fight on the
- 2:56Speaker 1: Democrats health care for illegals. Now, the other problem is
- 2:59Speaker 1: they're going to have to redo the whole health care plan.
- 3:01Speaker 1: This Affordable Care Act is not affordable, and Democrats proving
- 3:07Speaker 1: that by saying it needs subsidies. It's not affordable. The
- 3:11Speaker 1: Affordable Care Act, the whole idea was affordable health care
- 3:13Speaker 1: for everybody. Well, apparently nobody can afford it because you
- 3:16Speaker 1: need a subsidy to pay for it. If it was affordable,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you wouldn't need that now. The real problem is that,
- 3:22Speaker 1: Liz Peek explained to us yesterday, the original idea with
- 3:26Speaker 1: obamacares you'd force everybody on it, and all the younger people,
- 3:33Speaker 1: say under forty, don't really use much health care, so
- 3:36Speaker 1: they're just paying into the system. And the older people
- 3:39Speaker 1: who use all the healthcare, they might be draining the money,
- 3:44Speaker 1: but all the young people kicking in money makes up
- 3:46Speaker 1: for it and it all evens out. The problem is
- 3:49Speaker 1: the courts didn't like it, and there was an Act
- 3:52Speaker 1: of Congress where they redid the whole thing where they
- 3:55Speaker 1: realized and there was a fear they would lose this
- 3:58Speaker 1: in court. The idea of a mandate you have to
- 4:00Speaker 1: buy this healthcare that the government couldn't do that. So
- 4:03Speaker 1: the legislation changed that so they were no longer younger
- 4:07Speaker 1: people forced to buy it. And younger people generally don't
- 4:10Speaker 1: buy healthcare if they don't have to. So it was
- 4:13Speaker 1: all just people draining the system, and that's how it
- 4:15Speaker 1: got all screwed up. So they'll have to redo Obamacare.
- 4:19Speaker 1: President Trump knows that.
- 4:21Speaker 3: We want a healthcare system where we pay the money
- 4:23Speaker 3: to the people instead of the insurance companies. And I
- 4:26Speaker 3: tell you We're going to be working on that very
- 4:27Speaker 3: hard over the next short period of time. Where the
- 4:30Speaker 3: people get the money. We're talking about trillions and trillions
- 4:33Speaker 3: of dollars, where the people get the money.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah, now it's his plan, He's someone are calling it
- 4:38Speaker 1: trump care. Problem is, if you call it trump care,
- 4:43Speaker 1: every Democrat's going to get sick immediately and going to
- 4:45Speaker 1: need some health care. If you call it trump care,
- 4:48Speaker 1: will any Democrats sign up for it? But the idea
- 4:51Speaker 1: of trump Care is they'll give you the money and
- 4:53Speaker 1: you go pick your plan. You remember the Obama lie,
- 4:55Speaker 1: The big Obama lie was if you like your doctor,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you can keep your doctor. If you like your plan,
- 5:00Speaker 1: you can keep your plan. Well, none of that turned
- 5:02Speaker 1: out to be true. You couldn't keep your doctor, you
- 5:05Speaker 1: couldn't keep your plan, you lost the choice and all
- 5:07Speaker 1: that with Obamacare. But with the President's plan of just
- 5:11Speaker 1: giving everybody the money, well you can then go out
- 5:15Speaker 1: and pick your own plan. It's a pretty good idea.
- 5:17Speaker 3: You know.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Another thing President wants to do with the tariff situation.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Tariffs will be coming down slowly but surely. But the
- 5:24Speaker 1: tariffs also bring in a lot of revenue, a ton
- 5:28Speaker 1: of revenue come the trillions. President says seventeen trillion. It's
- 5:32Speaker 1: not seventeen trillion, it's more like seven trillion, but you
- 5:36Speaker 1: know him. But it's trillions of dollars coming in in revenue,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and he wants to start distributing that couple thousand dollars
- 5:43Speaker 1: to everybody from the tariffs. You know, the United States
- 5:46Speaker 1: didn't have income tax. There was no income tax at
- 5:49Speaker 1: all in the United States still about nineteen fifteen. And
- 5:54Speaker 1: you'd say, well, how did they find the how did
- 5:57Speaker 1: they pay for the government, how did they fund the government? Well,
- 6:00Speaker 1: with tariffs, there was enough revenue to fund the entire
- 6:03Speaker 1: government just off teriffs.
- 6:05Speaker 3: President Trump, the tariffs are very high on India because
- 6:08Speaker 3: of the Russian oil. And they've stopped doing the Russian oil.
- 6:12Speaker 3: It's been reduced very substantially. Yeah, we're going to be
- 6:14Speaker 3: bringing the tariffs down.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, one by one, each country will get their tariffs
- 6:17Speaker 1: to come down, and then you could start distributing some
- 6:20Speaker 1: money too from the tariffs.
- 6:21Speaker 3: So we're going to issue a dividend to our middle
- 6:24Speaker 3: income people and lower income people of about two thousand dollars,
- 6:28Speaker 3: and we're going to use the remaining tariffs to lower
- 6:30Speaker 3: our debt. We're going to be lowering our debt, which
- 6:32Speaker 3: is a national security thing.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so they'll get the check. Now, as you said,
- 6:36Speaker 1: lower and middle income, upper income, the wealthy will not
- 6:40Speaker 1: get a check. Now you're going to say, well, that
- 6:43Speaker 1: screws up the tax cuts for the billionaires. These tax
- 6:46Speaker 1: cuts for billionaires as well, There was never any truth
- 6:51Speaker 1: to that. Every study of the tax cuts show it
- 6:54Speaker 1: was almost all entirely for middle and lower income. Every study,
- 6:59Speaker 1: even the Biden IRS study showed that. But it doesn't
- 7:02Speaker 1: matter as long as you got the media covering for you.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He yelled tax cuts for the wealthy, tax cuts for billionaires,
- 7:09Speaker 1: and they keep repeating it, and after a while you've
- 7:11Speaker 1: repeat something enough everybody believes it. So the big casualty
- 7:15Speaker 1: of the shutdown is Chuck Schumer. Republicans can't stand him,
- 7:19Speaker 1: but now Democrats can't stand him either. He's just a
- 7:22Speaker 1: tired old dinosaur, an old relic, and all his silly
- 7:26Speaker 1: tricks don't work anymore. He did one yesterday. He does
- 7:30Speaker 1: this trick where he's not going to vote for it.
- 7:32Speaker 1: He is going to fight and stand up to this settlement.
- 7:36Speaker 1: He'll vote against it. Meantime, he tells eight other Democrats
- 7:40Speaker 1: go switch over and vote for it. He makes sure
- 7:42Speaker 1: it gets passed. He tells eight other people to vote
- 7:45Speaker 1: for it, and he votes against it just to cover himself.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But everybody knows he gave the wink in the nod
- 7:51Speaker 1: to the other people do it. He's supposed to hold
- 7:53Speaker 1: the line and make sure nobody voted for well, he
- 7:56Speaker 1: arranged for it to pass. But everybody's wise to him.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Nobody falls for this. Nobody likes the new glasses. The
- 8:03Speaker 1: big swift delos are glasses. But Schumer is done. The
- 8:09Speaker 1: crazy wing of the party, the socialist wing, the angry,
- 8:12Speaker 1: woke left wing, obviously they were out to get him,
- 8:15Speaker 1: primary him, chase him out. But now the moderates, the
- 8:18Speaker 1: middle class realize he's a useless guy. He's just old
- 8:21Speaker 1: and tired in his way of doing. He's the Mitch McConnell.
- 8:24Speaker 1: He's a Mitch McConnell, Mitch McConnell, Schumer, tired old fossils.
- 8:28Speaker 1: They all gotta go Schumer. I don't know if he
- 8:31Speaker 1: knows it or he realizes it. Republicans now own this
- 8:34Speaker 1: healthcare crisis. They knew what was coming. We wanted to
- 8:38Speaker 1: fix it.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Republicans said no, and now it's on them.
- 8:42Speaker 1: The problem is this, Mom Donnie is pretty slick. Mom Donnie.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You know he talks fast. He talks really fast, a
- 8:47Speaker 1: mile a minute, and he's just sprays things out. Schumer
- 8:50Speaker 1: puts on the old glasses and reads his index cards
- 8:52Speaker 1: and slowly reads them and you can tell he's reading
- 8:56Speaker 1: it off a card. Not effective anymore, especially in the
- 9:00Speaker 1: asked mom Donnie age and Schumer just out of touch.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Hey speaking to mom Donnie. All right, he's appointing more people,
- 9:06Speaker 1: naming more people. What's this administration going to be like?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Look like he's appointed Dean fully Hand to be the
- 9:16Speaker 1: first deputy mayor. That's the big job. That's the guy
- 9:20Speaker 1: that actually runs things. That's how Eric Adams turned around
- 9:24Speaker 1: his administration. He brought in the great Randy Mastro, who
- 9:28Speaker 1: was Juliani's a you know, first deputy mayor. He brought
- 9:31Speaker 1: in Randy Mastro a year ago, and Randy Mastro ran
- 9:34Speaker 1: city Hall and he you know, they got Jessica Tistion,
- 9:37Speaker 1: they got him. So that's why you Adam straighten out
- 9:40Speaker 1: the first deputy mayor. That's what really determines how an
- 9:44Speaker 1: administration is going to run. So Mam Donnie has brought
- 9:47Speaker 1: in Dean fully Hand. Now who is he, Well, he
- 9:49Speaker 1: was Deblasio's chief of staff. He was Deblasio's budget director
- 9:54Speaker 1: in the beginning, then became chief of staff for many
- 9:56Speaker 1: years under Deblasio. So as we keep telling you, this
- 9:59Speaker 1: is going to look exactly like Deblasio. We got through.
- 10:04Speaker 1: It was not great Deblasio. Obviously, crime went up and
- 10:07Speaker 1: things got bad, but we got through it. We got
- 10:09Speaker 1: through eight years of Deblasio. You'll probably be able to
- 10:13Speaker 1: get through. Mam Donni. Dean full of Hand will run things.
- 10:16Speaker 1: He's a Deblasio guy. He'll run it de Blasio style. Now,
- 10:21Speaker 1: the only problem is this Dean full of Hand. He
- 10:24Speaker 1: is the most connected guy in Albany with the Assembly,
- 10:28Speaker 1: with the legislature. He's worked up there. That's how you
- 10:30Speaker 1: got to know Mamdanni. He kind of mentored Mam Donni.
- 10:33Speaker 1: But he's a powerful guy with the legislature. The problem
- 10:36Speaker 1: there is if he's the first deputy mayor, if he's
- 10:39Speaker 1: the key guy in the Mamdani administration, he's a guy
- 10:42Speaker 1: will have klout with the legislature if they want to
- 10:44Speaker 1: get something passed, he can really push it through. That's
- 10:47Speaker 1: a problem that he'll have a lot of influence with
- 10:50Speaker 1: the legislature. Now, remember anything that passes, Hulkal has to
- 10:55Speaker 1: sign it. Of course, he's a terrible coward. If there's
- 10:59Speaker 1: any political pre sure she'll usually cave. But Hokel is
- 11:02Speaker 1: the one pushing Mom Donnie to keep Jessica Tish. Mom
- 11:08Speaker 1: Donnie would have no interest in keeping Jessica Diish, but
- 11:10Speaker 1: it's Hokal that keeps pushing that. Now, I don't know
- 11:13Speaker 1: in the end, once ma'm Donnie's in there and feels comfortable,
- 11:16Speaker 1: I don't know if Hkal have any influence over him anymore.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Probably not promise Jessica Tish. She's a good police commission
- 11:25Speaker 1: but she's very tough and strong, and if you look
- 11:28Speaker 1: at the Adams administration, she was pretty tough standing up
- 11:31Speaker 1: to Eric Adams, pushing back on things. Adams put up
- 11:37Speaker 1: with it. Mom Donnie probably won't, probably won't. He's not
- 11:41Speaker 1: looking for somebody to push back on him, so he
- 11:46Speaker 1: would not tolerate it. And Jessica Tish, very wealthy woman,
- 11:49Speaker 1: doesn't need the job, would leave in a second. Who
- 11:52Speaker 1: would Mam Donnie bring in. He's a high on his
- 11:55Speaker 1: list as Rodney Harrison, former NYPD of Department, Big big
- 12:02Speaker 1: NYPD gut he left a few years ago, became the
- 12:05Speaker 1: Suffolk County Police chief. Did a good job. You ask
- 12:10Speaker 1: people in the NYPD, they'll say, yeah, Rodney here says
- 12:13Speaker 1: he's good. He's good. They don't rave about him. They
- 12:17Speaker 1: wouldn't be thrilled about him, but they wouldn't be too upset.
- 12:19Speaker 1: He's a he's pretty good, but look for him high
- 12:23Speaker 1: on the list. If Jessica Tish leaves. Now, all this
- 12:27Speaker 1: Mamdani stuff, the free buses, he has absolutely no authority
- 12:32Speaker 1: to make. He has no control of the buses. That's
- 12:34Speaker 1: strictly the MTA, and that's controlled by the governor. Does
- 12:38Speaker 1: Hulko want free buses now?
- 12:39Speaker 2: I cannot set forth a plan right now that takes
- 12:43Speaker 2: money out of a system that relies on the fares
- 12:46Speaker 2: of the buses and the subways.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah. So, however, he could kind of do the free
- 12:53Speaker 1: buses by what the Blasio did with the subway. Just
- 12:57Speaker 1: tell everybody, you're you're not gonna do anything about turnstile jumping.
- 13:01Speaker 1: You're not going to arrest anybody for that. And remember
- 13:04Speaker 1: during Deblasio. Nobody paid on the subject. Well, normal people did,
- 13:08Speaker 1: but everybody else just jumped the turnstile so he could announce,
- 13:11Speaker 1: if you don't pay the bus fare, we're not going
- 13:13Speaker 1: to arrest you. That kind of stuff. But Mom Donnie,
- 13:15Speaker 1: he did promise those buses.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I continue to be excited at the work of making
- 13:22Speaker 2: the slowest buses in America fast and free, and I
- 13:25Speaker 2: appreciate the Governor's continued partnership and delivering on that agenda
- 13:30Speaker 2: of affordability.
- 13:31Speaker 1: The slowest busses in America, well, that's the result of traffic.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Has nothing to do with making the bus free. That's
- 13:37Speaker 1: a traffic thing. Now, one good thing about mom Donnie,
- 13:40Speaker 1: And everybody's threatening to leave, So Mom Donnie may solve
- 13:44Speaker 1: our traffic problem. He may end gridlocked just by everybody leaving,
- 13:47Speaker 1: So you've got to give him credit for that.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I'm just as excited as I was about free buses
- 13:51Speaker 2: today as I was more than a year ago. This
- 13:52Speaker 2: is the work that will animate so much of what
- 13:54Speaker 2: the three of us in what our City Hall will
- 13:56Speaker 2: do is to ensure that we are living up to
- 13:58Speaker 2: those promises and transform for politics as we know.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, now, if you have free buses. Everybody says that, well,
- 14:05Speaker 1: they'll just turn into homeless shelters. The homeless we'll just
- 14:08Speaker 1: get on the bus and just stay there, just sleep
- 14:10Speaker 1: there all day and night. So hey, Tish James are sleazy,
- 14:16Speaker 1: dirty Attorney General Letitia James. You know she's got these indictments.
- 14:21Speaker 1: She's got probably hear there's more indictments coming. Mortgage fraud.
- 14:26Speaker 1: She bought these houses. We had no idea about this
- 14:30Speaker 1: because the media totally corrupt, never ever investigates anything, so
- 14:34Speaker 1: we didn't know while she's our attorney general why she's
- 14:38Speaker 1: conducting lawfair against Donald Trump. She's also a slum lord.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That's her hobby, being a slum lord, buying these broken
- 14:44Speaker 1: down houses in Virginia, and a couple of them she
- 14:48Speaker 1: stuck family members. And this is the one, the famous
- 14:50Speaker 1: one with the mortgage fraud that she said was her
- 14:53Speaker 1: primary residence. She stuck her niece in there, and apparently
- 14:57Speaker 1: a lot of criminals in this family. The niece is
- 15:00Speaker 1: jump parole, she's a wanted fugitive. She's been staying in
- 15:04Speaker 1: the house and apparently since Letitia James bought that house
- 15:08Speaker 1: and put her relative in there, police have been called
- 15:11Speaker 1: to the house multiple times. Dozens and dozens and dozens
- 15:15Speaker 1: of times. Police have been called there for domestic issues,
- 15:19Speaker 1: for suspicious characters, all sorts of stuff. According to police reports,
- 15:24Speaker 1: they were sometimes called there multiple times in one day.
- 15:28Speaker 1: This is a tiss James family. Pretty sleazy, pretty sleezy.
- 15:34Speaker 1: It's in the genes, I guess. Anyway, Hey, we'll take
- 15:37Speaker 1: some calls in a minute. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:41Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two
- 15:44Speaker 1: one zero seven to ten.
