- 0:42Speaker 1: regular episodes are with me and my husband Stuart, and
- 0:45Speaker 1: we go through this same case, but we kind of
- 0:48Speaker 1: give our opinions and we're just kind of silly. So
- 0:53Speaker 1: if you don't like any of that stuff, I would
- 0:54Speaker 1: not go check out those, but those, if you do,
- 0:56Speaker 1: we'd like to hear more of. Those are the numbered
- 0:58Speaker 1: episodes in our feed and we try to put those
- 1:01Speaker 1: out once a week on Thursday ish timeframe, and so
- 1:05Speaker 1: also check out our Instagram and Facebook as well as
- 1:10Speaker 1: our Patreon. We really appreciate everybody who supports us, and
- 1:13Speaker 1: there you'll get the regular episodes early and twenty four
- 1:17Speaker 1: hours early and ad free. So all right, without anymore ADO,
- 1:23Speaker 1: let's get into our case out of Oklahoma. So Jamie
- 1:27Speaker 1: Lee Adams Nay Cueller was born April twentieth, nineteen eighty
- 1:31Speaker 1: six in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Jamie attended no Wada schools and
- 1:37Speaker 1: played the trumpet in high school, as well as singing
- 1:39Speaker 1: in the choir. As Jamie grew into an adult, she
- 1:43Speaker 1: discovered her love for crafting and making homemade gifts. She
- 1:47Speaker 1: furthered this love when she met a man and had
- 1:49Speaker 1: two children with him, and so she was able to
- 1:53Speaker 1: do crafts for them and really enjoyed that. She later
- 1:57Speaker 1: developed a love for writing and felt that that was
- 1:59Speaker 1: the best way to to express herself. After her previous
- 2:02Speaker 1: relationship did not work out, she met Justin Adams. Jamie
- 2:06Speaker 1: soon became pregnant and they married. In the spring of
- 2:08Speaker 1: twenty eleven. Jamie, Justin, and her two kids would settle
- 2:12Speaker 1: in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Justin had recently joined the National Guard,
- 2:17Speaker 1: but was not making much money outside of that. By
- 2:19Speaker 1: late twenty eleven, the couple was struggling to make ends
- 2:23Speaker 1: meet and ended up moving into a trailer next to
- 2:25Speaker 1: Justin's mother where they could live without having to pay
- 2:28Speaker 1: any rent. Money was extremely tight. Jamie was attending classes
- 2:32Speaker 1: from nursing school and had just had a baby, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: Justin had just returned from basic training so he would
- 2:38Speaker 1: begin making more money once that pay came in. They
- 2:41Speaker 1: were struggling so much that they did not have running
- 2:44Speaker 1: water in the trailer. They had a hose from Justin's
- 2:47Speaker 1: mom's home and would call her to turn it on
- 2:49Speaker 1: when they needed water. While they were struggling financially, they
- 2:53Speaker 1: seemed to be very happy. Justin doated on Jamie and
- 2:56Speaker 1: everyone could see the love they had for each other.
- 2:59Speaker 1: In December of twenty eleven, Jamie was preparing for Christmas.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Christmas was her favorite time of year. She went out
- 3:06Speaker 1: of her way to make the holiday special for her children,
- 3:09Speaker 1: even though she had no money. She used her love
- 3:11Speaker 1: of crafts to make them gifts and try to make
- 3:15Speaker 1: it feel like a normal Christmas. Financial stress continued to mount,
- 3:19Speaker 1: with Justin still not making much and Jamie caring for
- 3:21Speaker 1: a newborn. On December ninth, twenty eleven, Jamie headed out
- 3:26Speaker 1: around ten pm to go hang out with some friends.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Justin stayed home with the children. She took her cell
- 3:32Speaker 1: phone with her and kept in contact with Justin as
- 3:34Speaker 1: she drove thirty miles away to Midwest City, Oklahoma. Around midnight,
- 3:39Speaker 1: she stopped contacting Justin. Justin starts panicking. Around three am,
- 3:45Speaker 1: when Jamie is still not home, he heads over to
- 3:47Speaker 1: his mom's house to let her know that Jamie was missing.
- 3:51Speaker 1: They decide to hop in the car to go and
- 3:53Speaker 1: try to find Jamie. They go to where they believe
- 3:56Speaker 1: she might have been last They make it to a
- 3:58Speaker 1: fast food restaurant in Midway City around four thirty a m.
- 4:02Speaker 1: They find her van and it is locked. He can't
- 4:05Speaker 1: access it to see if anything was in the van.
- 4:08Speaker 1: From the window, they could not see anything and nothing
- 4:11Speaker 1: looked overly suspicious, but he knew something was wrong. They
- 4:15Speaker 1: called nine on one and police arrive at the scene
- 4:18Speaker 1: and Justin is very agitated and angry, wanting them to
- 4:21Speaker 1: let him in the car. They tell him that they
- 4:23Speaker 1: need to hold off so that they can process the
- 4:26Speaker 1: vehicle in case something bad has happened to Jamie. This
- 4:29Speaker 1: makes Justin angry and he starts ignoring police questions. They
- 4:33Speaker 1: try to have him explain why his wife was out
- 4:35Speaker 1: at this time of night, and he says it that
- 4:37Speaker 1: she was meeting a friend, but he could not name
- 4:40Speaker 1: the friend. Things are seeming odd to police, but they
- 4:42Speaker 1: are giving the benefit of the doubt that he is
- 4:44Speaker 1: just upset his wife is missing. Jamie has an official
- 4:48Speaker 1: missing person's report open for her, but investigators feel that
- 4:51Speaker 1: Justin and his mother are withholding information. After three days
- 4:55Speaker 1: with no sign to Jamie, investigators keep pushing Justin for
- 4:59Speaker 1: more information. He finally admits to a shocking secret. About
- 5:03Speaker 1: six months prior to Jamie going missing, they began posting
- 5:06Speaker 1: online looking for other couples, posts saying we are an
- 5:10Speaker 1: attractive couple looking for other couples to have fun with.
- 5:15Speaker 1: They began swinging and really embraced the lifestyle. When discussing
- 5:19Speaker 1: this with Justin, he said they did it to spice
- 5:21Speaker 1: up their love life and really enjoyed it, so they
- 5:23Speaker 1: kept doing it. What happened next, though, took it to
- 5:26Speaker 1: another level. Jamie began offering herself for payment. Justin was
- 5:31Speaker 1: okay with this and would post sexually explicit post online,
- 5:35Speaker 1: saying it would be worth your time to compensate me.
- 5:38Speaker 1: This was a way for the family to make some
- 5:40Speaker 1: money and begin paying debts and living a better life.
- 5:43Speaker 1: One of the posts said, I am a single mom
- 5:45Speaker 1: and I need to buy toys for my kids. I
- 5:47Speaker 1: will do anything. The couple finally got caught by Justin's
- 5:51Speaker 1: mom when she read an email that was left open
- 5:54Speaker 1: responding to an ad that offered for Jamie to have
- 5:57Speaker 1: sex with a man in the back of the mini
- 6:00Speaker 1: van while Justin drove them around. After finding out, Justin's
- 6:04Speaker 1: mom sat down and spoke to them both. They stormed
- 6:06Speaker 1: out of embarrassment, but he later called his mom and
- 6:09Speaker 1: told her they would stop. However, they did not, and
- 6:12Speaker 1: Jamie ended up pregnant, so when she went missing, she
- 6:15Speaker 1: was about two months pregnant. This now explains to police
- 6:18Speaker 1: why Justin was so evasive with questions the night Jamie
- 6:21Speaker 1: went missing. They also realized that Justin's mother, Tina, was
- 6:25Speaker 1: lying to them as well. When they speak to her
- 6:27Speaker 1: about where Jamie went that night, she says that she
- 6:30Speaker 1: told Justin not to tell police because they would not
- 6:33Speaker 1: look for her if they knew she was involved with prostitution.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Justin finally comes clean and tells police that Jamie was
- 6:40Speaker 1: meeting a man in Norman, which was about eighteen miles
- 6:42Speaker 1: from their home, with plans to have sex for money.
- 6:46Speaker 1: As soon as the investigators found out about this, they
- 6:49Speaker 1: began to fear that Jamie was not missing, that something
- 6:52Speaker 1: bad had happened to her. They asked Justin to take
- 6:54Speaker 1: a polygraph, which he fells. He continues to insist that
- 6:58Speaker 1: he had nothing to do with Jamie's disappearance, but police
- 7:00Speaker 1: are having a hard time believing him since he has
- 7:03Speaker 1: already lied multiple times to them about Jamie. Looking at
- 7:06Speaker 1: the angle where a man Jamie was meeting had harmed her,
- 7:09Speaker 1: they look at whom she had been speaking to leading
- 7:11Speaker 1: up to the nights she went missing. She was messaging
- 7:14Speaker 1: several men about meeting up to have sex in exchange
- 7:17Speaker 1: for money. All the men said that they never actually
- 7:19Speaker 1: met up with Jamie except for one. He admitted to
- 7:22Speaker 1: meeting her through Craig's List and that they met to
- 7:25Speaker 1: have sex and then he left. They looked into his
- 7:28Speaker 1: alibi and were able to confirm that he was where
- 7:30Speaker 1: he said he was. They keep him on their radar,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but pivot back to Justin. Justin hands over his laptop.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He claimed he was on the internet all night until
- 7:39Speaker 1: three a m. When he began looking for Jamie. They
- 7:43Speaker 1: receive his cell phone records and find some shocking information.
- 7:47Speaker 1: The cell towers where Justin's phone were pinging that night
- 7:50Speaker 1: were the same ones that Jamie was pinging from, meaning
- 7:53Speaker 1: that they were together all night, even at the time
- 7:55Speaker 1: of her disappearance. They bring Justin back in and question
- 7:58Speaker 1: him about the records. He denies being with Jamie and
- 8:01Speaker 1: any involvement. After this conversation, Justin contacted a defense attorney
- 8:06Speaker 1: and stops talking to Billy. A month goes by with
- 8:08Speaker 1: no real breaks in the case, when a call comes
- 8:10Speaker 1: into nine one one a female body had been found
- 8:13Speaker 1: at fifty ninth in Douglas near Draper Lake. Investigators arrive
- 8:18Speaker 1: on scene and find a woman brutally murdered, and they
- 8:21Speaker 1: immediately knew that they were looking at Jamie Adams. In
- 8:24Speaker 1: autopsy would show a brutal death. Her jaw was broken
- 8:27Speaker 1: in two places and she was stabbed multiple times. It
- 8:30Speaker 1: was definitely overkill. The violence of the death indicated it
- 8:34Speaker 1: was personal and that the killer knew Jamie. Police are
- 8:37Speaker 1: completely set on Justin as the killer and continue to
- 8:40Speaker 1: look into him while his mother and attorney go to
- 8:42Speaker 1: bed for him, doing interviews and professing his innocence. However,
- 8:46Speaker 1: police discover that Justin had a one hundred thousand dollars
- 8:49Speaker 1: life insurance on Jamie, giving him plenty of motive to
- 8:52Speaker 1: kill his wife to relieve their financial issues. However, Justin
- 8:56Speaker 1: denies knowing about the insurance policy. He said it was
- 8:59Speaker 1: part of his millilitary package that he had just signed.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They also discovered that in the month leading up to
- 9:04Speaker 1: the murder, Jamie called police and was taken to a
- 9:07Speaker 1: women's shelter for a few days, but she ultimately returned
- 9:10Speaker 1: to Justin. This was due to them arguing. Justin's mom, Tina,
- 9:14Speaker 1: confirmed that she had seen domestic violence going both ways.
- 9:18Speaker 1: On top of all this, they find out that Justin
- 9:20Speaker 1: had a new girlfriend within a week of Jamie going missing.
- 9:24Speaker 1: When questioned about this, he said he was quote missing
- 9:27Speaker 1: a woman's touch. With all this information, Justin is arrested
- 9:32Speaker 1: and charged with two counts of first degree murder on
- 9:35Speaker 1: the day of Jamie's funeral. He was denied Belle and
- 9:38Speaker 1: would sit in jail until his trial. A private investigator
- 9:41Speaker 1: joined Justin's team and pressed police to look into the
- 9:44Speaker 1: other possibilities, but none panned out. Meanwhile, testing finally came
- 9:49Speaker 1: in from some seamen found in Jamie's body. It did
- 9:52Speaker 1: not match the DNA of any of the men they
- 9:54Speaker 1: had samples from. There is one John that did not
- 9:57Speaker 1: provide a sample but denied actually meeting up with They
- 10:01Speaker 1: go back to this guy. His name is Joseph Syir.
- 10:04Speaker 1: He was in the military and had a clean record.
- 10:08Speaker 1: He denies being involved and will not produce a DNA sample.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Without this, they need more information to get a warrant.
- 10:16Speaker 1: They speak to his girlfriend and she said that she
- 10:18Speaker 1: recalled seeing him around two am and everything seemed to
- 10:22Speaker 1: be normal. However, the next morning, Joseph was washing his
- 10:25Speaker 1: truck and changed all four tires. They were able to
- 10:28Speaker 1: obtain a warrant for a DNA sample and it was
- 10:31Speaker 1: a match. They drest Joseph Seir for first degree murder.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Justin was not released free of charges. However, he ended
- 10:39Speaker 1: up pleading guilty to first degree manslaughter for leading his
- 10:42Speaker 1: wife into harm by aiding her prostitution. He was sentenced,
- 10:46Speaker 1: but due to time served, he was released from jail.
- 10:50Speaker 1: They also brought in the FBI to try to explain
- 10:53Speaker 1: these cell phone records for Justin and Jamie being in
- 10:56Speaker 1: the pinging off the same tower, and they found that
- 10:59Speaker 1: it was a glitch in the cell carrier's system. They
- 11:04Speaker 1: had them repull the records and it actually showed that
- 11:07Speaker 1: Justin and Jamie were not in the same area. They
- 11:10Speaker 1: believe that Joseph Sear became upset with Jamie when she
- 11:14Speaker 1: asked him to use a condom. Joseph's girlfriend said that
- 11:18Speaker 1: he was adamantly against condoms and would get angry if
- 11:20Speaker 1: she asked to use one as well. They believe that
- 11:23Speaker 1: he got upset with her and then beat her severely
- 11:25Speaker 1: and then stabbed her and disposed of her body. Joseph
- 11:29Speaker 1: was found guilty and sentenced to life without parole. All right,
- 11:33Speaker 1: that's our case out of Oklahoma. I appreciate you listening. Again.
