Transcript
- 0:00The house of prayer. The fervent prayer of a
- 0:03righteous. You meant it for evil, but God meant
- 0:08it for good. A prayer for God's purpose to prevail.
- 0:14This prayer is for you if you are going through
- 0:16a season you cannot understand. It is for you
- 0:19if someone betrayed you, if someone lied about
- 0:22you, if you have been falsely accused, if someone
- 0:25deliberately tried to hurt you, remove you, discredit
- 0:29you, or close a door against you. It is for you
- 0:32if something happened that you simply cannot
- 0:34call good. and it is also for you if you are
- 0:38carrying regret because some of what happened
- 0:40came through your own decisions. You may be asking,
- 0:43God, how can anything good possibly come from
- 0:47this? If that is where you are today, I want
- 0:50you to pray with me, because what happened may
- 0:53be real, the pain may be real, the consequences
- 0:57may be real, but none of those things have greater
- 1:00authority than the purpose of God. Listen to
- 1:05the word of God in Genesis 50 -20. You meant
- 1:09evil against me, but God meant it for good to
- 1:13bring it about, that many people should be kept
- 1:15alive. And Romans 8 -28 reminds us, and we know
- 1:21that all things work together for good to them
- 1:24that love God, to them who are the called according
- 1:28to his purpose. Let us pray. with everything
- 1:34I do not understand. I bring you the pain. I
- 1:39bring you the disappointment. I bring you the
- 1:41betrayal. I bring you the accusations. I bring
- 1:44you the closed doors. I bring you the things
- 1:47people said about me. I bring you the things
- 1:49people did to me. And God, I also bring you my
- 1:53own mistakes. The decisions I wish I could change.
- 1:57The words I wish I could take back. The moments
- 2:01when I allowed anger. fear, weakness, or frustration
- 2:04to control me. I place everything before you.
- 2:08I refuse to pretend that everything that happened
- 2:11was good. But today, I choose to believe that
- 2:15you are still good. I may not understand what
- 2:18you are doing. I may not see how these pieces
- 2:21fit together. I may not understand why you allowed
- 2:24certain doors to close. I may not understand
- 2:28why you allowed certain people to leave. I may
- 2:31not understand why you permitted me to walk through
- 2:34this particular fire, but God, I trust you with
- 2:38what I cannot understand. Joseph could not see
- 2:42the palace from the pit, he could not see Pharaoh
- 2:45from the prison, he could not see preservation
- 2:48while he was being betrayed, but you could, so
- 2:51today I declare, my present circumstances will
- 2:54not become my final conclusion. I will not write
- 2:56the final chapter while you are still writing
- 2:59my story. What people intended against me will
- 3:01not have the final word. What was spoken against
- 3:04me will not have the final word. What was done
- 3:07against me will not have the final word. My disappointment
- 3:10will not have the final word. My failure will
- 3:14not have the final word. My past will not have
- 3:17the final word. You will have the final word.
- 3:20God, take what was meant to destroy me and use
- 3:24it according to your purpose. Take what was intended
- 3:28to discourage me and deepen my dependence upon
- 3:31you. Take what was intended to make me bitter
- 3:34and teach me forgiveness. Take what was intended
- 3:37to weaken me and develop endurance. Take what
- 3:41exposed my weakness and use it to refine my character.
- 3:45Take what closed one door and lead me toward
- 3:48the door you have prepared. Take every piece
- 3:51of this season and place it into your hands.
- 3:54Because I believe you don't waste the fire. God,
- 3:58if there is something in me that must change,
- 4:01change me. If there is something in me that must
- 4:03be removed, remove it. If pride must go, remove
- 4:07it. If bitterness must go, remove it. If anger
- 4:11must be controlled, teach me self -control. If
- 4:14my words must change, discipline my tongue. If
- 4:17my character needs strengthening, refine me.
- 4:20If I need to forgive, give me the grace to forgive.
- 4:24If I need to repent, give me the humility to
- 4:27repent. If I need to wait, give me patience.
- 4:30If I need to move, give me courage. Do not simply
- 4:34bring me out of this season. Prepare me through
- 4:37this season. I don't want to come out carrying
- 4:40the same weaknesses that entered the fire with
- 4:42me. I don't want to reach the place you prepared
- 4:45for me without becoming the person who can carry
- 4:48what you are preparing. Refine me, God, purify
- 4:51my motives, strengthen my character, guard my
- 4:55heart, order my steps, and keep me close to you.
- 4:59Today, I release the people who hurt me from
- 5:02controlling the rest of my story. I refuse to
- 5:06allow what they did yesterday to determine who
- 5:08I become tomorrow. I refuse bitterness. I refuse
- 5:13revenge. I refuse hatred. I refuse to allow another
- 5:18person's actions to transform me into someone
- 5:20you never called me to become. Instead, I surrender
- 5:25my story to you. And by faith, I declare, what
- 5:30they meant for evil, you can turn toward good.
- 5:33What looked like rejection can become redirection.
- 5:37What looked like delay can become preparation.
- 5:41What looked like an ending can become a transition.
- 5:45What looked wasted can still serve your purpose.
- 5:49And what looked like it would destroy me can
- 5:52become part of the testimony of what you brought
- 5:55me through. God, I don't know everything you
- 5:58are doing behind the scenes, but I trust you.
- 6:02I don't know how every chapter will end, but
- 6:05I trust you. I don't know when the answer will
- 6:08come, but I trust you. I don't know what the
- 6:12next season will look like, but I trust you.
- 6:16And until I understand, I will remain faithful.
- 6:20Until the door opens, I will remain faithful.
- 6:24Until the answer comes, I will remain faithful.
- 6:28Until I can look backward and understand what
- 6:31I cannot understand today, I will trust the author
- 6:35while you are still writing. So I declare over
- 6:38my life. The pit is not my ending The prison
- 6:42is not my ending The accusation is not my ending
- 6:47The disappointment is not my ending The failure
- 6:50is not my ending God is still writing God is
- 6:55still working God is still refining God is still
- 6:59positioning And God's purpose is still greater
- 7:02than what was intended against me. I will not
- 7:05waste the fire. I will learn. I will grow. I
- 7:08will forgive. I will repent where repentance
- 7:11is necessary. I will become wiser. I will become
- 7:14stronger. I will become more disciplined. I will
- 7:17become more dependent upon the Holy Spirit. And
- 7:20when this chapter is finished, I will not simply
- 7:23say, I survived. I will say, God refined me through
- 7:27it. What was meant for evil will not determine
- 7:30my destination. God's purpose will. And somewhere
- 7:33between what they intended and what you are accomplishing,
- 7:37I am being refined for a purpose. In the name
- 7:40of Jesus Christ, Amen. If you are going through
- 7:44a difficult season and you cannot yet understand
- 7:47what God is doing, keep praying, keep trusting,
- 7:52keep walking. God may still be writing the part
- 7:56of the story that will eventually explain the
- 7:58chapter you are living today. Always remember
- 8:02you are not alone. Pamoja Ministry is your prayer
- 8:08partner.
