- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York, The Marks some
- 0:04Speaker 1: own show on seven tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hey, Well, we'll get to the State of the Union.
- 0:13Speaker 2: We'll give you the inside story, and then we'll get
- 0:16Speaker 2: to Nancy Guthrie and a sad story. We'll get to
- 0:20Speaker 2: Gavin Newsome in trouble for racist remarks that he made.
- 0:23Speaker 2: We'll get to Mayor Mom, Donnie, We'll get to Hey,
- 0:27Speaker 2: we'll get to the Drudge Report if you're wondering whatever
- 0:30Speaker 2: happened to that? And a whole lot more coming up.
- 0:33Speaker 2: So the blizzard yesterday, Hey, looks great in Manhattan. I
- 0:37Speaker 2: don't know about where you are, but in Manhattan, a
- 0:39Speaker 2: lot of the snow is gone. The sidewalks, the streets
- 0:42Speaker 2: are absolutely clear. Temperature is cold, but bright sunshine yesterday
- 0:46Speaker 2: and today has helped get rid of a lot of
- 0:48Speaker 2: that snow. Manhattan looks great right now. Easy to walk
- 0:52Speaker 2: on the sidewalks, easy to drive around now. The suburbs,
- 0:55Speaker 2: that's a different story. And Staten Island and Queens and Brooklyn,
- 0:58Speaker 2: that's a different story. But it turns out that this snowstorm,
- 1:03Speaker 2: this blizzard was in the top ten city snowstorms on
- 1:08Speaker 2: record for Manhattan, actually for New York City, it's in
- 1:12Speaker 2: the top ten. Central Park in Manhattan got nineteen inches,
- 1:17Speaker 2: which would beat the January twenty eleven blizzard. You know
- 1:22Speaker 2: when they took it, the blizzard of twenty sixteen, or
- 1:26Speaker 2: the blizzard of twenty eleven. I don't remember any of these.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Do you remember this? So you'll forget about this too.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Staten Island got the worst of it in New York
- 1:33Speaker 2: City twenty four inches. People in Manhattan were very happy
- 1:38Speaker 2: with Mayor Mom Donnie and getting things cleaned up. People
- 1:42Speaker 2: in Staten Island are fuming and furious at them, and
- 1:44Speaker 2: rightfully so. It's an absolute mess there. Nobody can get
- 1:47Speaker 2: out of their driveway, nobody can get their car, nobody
- 1:49Speaker 2: can get out of their house. And he opened schools today.
- 1:53Speaker 2: But if you're in Staten Island, I don't know how
- 1:55Speaker 2: the hell you're supposed to be able to get there.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And residents are very very upset about that.
- 2:00Speaker 3: There's no way that you're ready to safely get kids
- 2:04Speaker 3: on and off of bus, and even to have the
- 2:07Speaker 3: bus driver safely make it up and down some.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Of these streets.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Look at the streets, they're no way you're ready to
- 2:14Speaker 3: be done, you know, no one could get to No
- 2:17Speaker 3: one could get anywhere.
- 2:18Speaker 4: No.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I hate to break it to you, but Manhattan's pretty
- 2:20Speaker 2: clear right now now. As I said, Central Park got
- 2:23Speaker 2: nineteen inches, but the worst of Manhattan was Washington Heights.
- 2:28Speaker 2: They got twenty two inches, twenty two inches in Queens
- 2:32Speaker 2: twenty two. Around the Bronx got off the best. Fourteen
- 2:35Speaker 2: point eight inches. That's a little better now. The outer
- 2:39Speaker 2: burrows it was pretty bad. Parts of Long Island got
- 2:41Speaker 2: twenty four inches. Parts of South Shore, especially out towards
- 2:46Speaker 2: Theahmpton's got almost up to three feet. Babylon you got
- 2:50Speaker 2: twenty nine and a half inches, almost thirty inches in Babylon.
- 2:54Speaker 2: But Manhattan looks great. It looks great now now. The
- 3:02Speaker 2: other only problem here is the garbage is piling up.
- 3:04Speaker 2: But one reason for that they take a lot of
- 3:06Speaker 2: the sanitation department and switch them over to snow removal
- 3:09Speaker 2: and snow shoveling, So they do ignore the garbage for
- 3:12Speaker 2: a day or two while they clean up the snow.
- 3:15Speaker 2: So snow's a little better right now. And then the
- 3:19Speaker 2: same thing that happened last time. The garbage will pile
- 3:21Speaker 2: up for a week and then they'll start to get
- 3:23Speaker 2: it a lot of people think Mayor Mom Donny was
- 3:25Speaker 2: a little crazy to open schools today. He loves those
- 3:28Speaker 2: shoveling videos. He's a real TikToker snow. He's out there shoveling.
- 3:33Speaker 5: Due to the historic nature of this blizzard, we've increased
- 3:36Speaker 5: pay to thirty dollars per those walk into any DS
- 3:39Speaker 5: and Y garage until eight pm this evening and then
- 3:42Speaker 5: starting again at nine am tomorrow. All you need to
- 3:45Speaker 5: bring is two forms of ID to ensure you get paid.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Do you have two forms of ID on you at
- 3:50Speaker 2: any one time? I think I do. No, I don't
- 3:53Speaker 2: know two forms of ID, not just one. But some
- 3:56Speaker 2: people find it kind of pathetic that he's relying on
- 3:59Speaker 2: a bu bunch of amateurs showing up to shovel snow.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And I think the two forms of ID might kill
- 4:05Speaker 2: that a little. You know, if you didn't need an IDA,
- 4:07Speaker 2: you might get all the illegals showing up to shovel snow.
- 4:10Speaker 2: But hey, tonight is the State of the Union speech.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Now you're hearing all kinds of narrative. You know, the media,
- 4:18Speaker 2: the democratic media fake news complex, starts these narratives. One
- 4:24Speaker 2: is that this is crucial because the president's poll numbers
- 4:27Speaker 2: are so low right now, his approval rating is so
- 4:31Speaker 2: far down, he's behind in independence. None of this is true.
- 4:35Speaker 2: None of this is true. Oh, I know they put
- 4:37Speaker 2: up these polls. Oh, latest ABC Episodes poll, the Washington
- 4:41Speaker 2: Post is a Southern such poll, the College poll. They
- 4:44Speaker 2: put all these things up. These are totally totally false polls.
- 4:50Speaker 2: The most important thing when you read a poll is
- 4:52Speaker 2: go look at the metrics. Who did they poll? If
- 4:55Speaker 2: they pulled the voting public, then take it seriously. But
- 4:59Speaker 2: none of these polls pull the actual voters that are
- 5:02Speaker 2: going to be voting. The first thing they do. There's
- 5:04Speaker 2: a number of tricks they do. One, if you look
- 5:06Speaker 2: at these polls, in the metrics, they have Republicans at
- 5:10Speaker 2: twenty six percent of the sample, which is ludicrous. They
- 5:13Speaker 2: should be thirty eight percent of the sample. So they've
- 5:16Speaker 2: already rigged it by twelve points right there. Then they
- 5:19Speaker 2: don't use likely voters. Instead, they use what they call adults,
- 5:23Speaker 2: which means they pick whoever they want. They could do
- 5:25Speaker 2: it at the faculty lounge at Columbia University, and they
- 5:29Speaker 2: use all the wrong Demographics's six ways they do this,
- 5:33Speaker 2: and that's why the approval rating is so low, but
- 5:36Speaker 2: you could always always assume at least a twelve point rigging,
- 5:39Speaker 2: in some cases of fifteen point rigging. So whatever it is,
- 5:43Speaker 2: AD fifteen and you'll have the real number. Though, the
- 5:48Speaker 2: fake narrative is that tonight is his only hope of
- 5:51Speaker 2: turning this around. He's got to turn it around to No, no,
- 5:54Speaker 2: none of that is true Tonight. The speech the other
- 5:58Speaker 2: thing you keep hearing if you watch all the crazy
- 6:00Speaker 2: left wing MSNBC type stuff, It could be done because
- 6:04Speaker 2: he could say awful things. He could go off script.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You know when he goes off script and he lashes
- 6:09Speaker 2: out and he starts at well, first of all, he's
- 6:11Speaker 2: done five State of the Union speeches. This will be
- 6:15Speaker 2: his sixth. He's already done five State of the Union addresses.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Check the record. In all five he never went off script.
- 6:24Speaker 2: He stuck right to the script. Whatever crazy things, these,
- 6:28Speaker 2: these fake news types of telling you are going to happen.
- 6:31Speaker 2: He's done five of these and it never happened in
- 6:33Speaker 2: any of them. Now it will go long. It's too long,
- 6:39Speaker 2: you know. When he does these States of the Union,
- 6:40Speaker 2: especially the last few, they go way too long. You're
- 6:43Speaker 2: supposed to do about an hour. It starts around nine
- 6:46Speaker 2: actually nine nine, ten, nine fifty, So you do till
- 6:50Speaker 2: like ten fifteen. Shortest one I think Richard Nixon did one.
- 6:53Speaker 2: It was about thirty minutes. But you're supposed to do
- 6:55Speaker 2: about an hour. It could go an hour in twenty
- 6:57Speaker 2: minutes and about ten fifteen, ten twenty. You could end
- 7:01Speaker 2: at ten thirty if you had to. He has been
- 7:04Speaker 2: going long. Now he'll go long tonight, maybe till eleven,
- 7:09Speaker 2: maybe till eleven oh five. Now, why would such a
- 7:12Speaker 2: great showman, he's probably the best out of any president,
- 7:15Speaker 2: the greatest showman of any president. Why would a great
- 7:18Speaker 2: speaker go so long? It's deliberate, it's a strategy. There's
- 7:23Speaker 2: a democratic response after his speech, and the democratics response
- 7:29Speaker 2: always attacks him like crazy, calls him a liar, all
- 7:32Speaker 2: that sort of stuff. A lot of people don't stay
- 7:34Speaker 2: around and watch a response. Some do, but not everybody.
- 7:37Speaker 2: But if you go long, if you can go to
- 7:39Speaker 2: about eleven, and then they after the speech, they do
- 7:42Speaker 2: a little bit of a wrap up, a recap, and
- 7:44Speaker 2: then about ten minutes later they go to the rebuttal.
- 7:49Speaker 2: If you can delay that rebuttal till about eleven fifteen.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Most people will not watch it. Very few people will
- 7:54Speaker 2: watch it at eleven o'clock. People want to go go
- 7:57Speaker 2: to sleep or watch something else. They've had enough. So
- 8:00Speaker 2: he's gonna deliberately go along move that rebuttal into the
- 8:05Speaker 2: eleven o'clock hour like eleven fifteen, so very few people
- 8:08Speaker 2: we'll see it. Now, many Democrats are gonna boycott tonight's speech.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And looking, here's the list, it's like thirty five forty
- 8:16Speaker 2: Democrats will boycott the speech. All these Adam Schiff type
- 8:22Speaker 2: childish yelling and screaming and whining and kicking and screaming,
- 8:27Speaker 2: they'll boycott the speech. Now there's gonna be alternative State
- 8:30Speaker 2: of the Unions that Democrats will hold one in the
- 8:32Speaker 2: National Mall, you know crazy, you know, ranting and raving
- 8:37Speaker 2: kind of alternative things. The rumor is that somewhere during
- 8:44Speaker 2: the State of Union tonight, a bunch of Democrats will
- 8:46Speaker 2: get up and walk out. This is the rumor that
- 8:50Speaker 2: they're going to stage a walkout during the speech. The
- 8:53Speaker 2: President is aware of this rumor, and if they do it,
- 8:58Speaker 2: he's got some great responses to go that will Now,
- 9:01Speaker 2: if they do a walk out in the middle of
- 9:03Speaker 2: speach that will seriously damage the Democrats, seriously hurt them.
- 9:08Speaker 2: The President will stick to the script like he always does.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Democrats have a history the last few years of Trump
- 9:15Speaker 2: of totally embarrassing themselves at State of Union speeches by booing,
- 9:20Speaker 2: by refusing to applaud the poor kid who's dying of cancer,
- 9:23Speaker 2: the things like that. So if they do a walkout tonight,
- 9:26Speaker 2: it will continue their tradition and make it even worse
- 9:30Speaker 2: the image of Democrats. The US A hockey team will
- 9:35Speaker 2: be there. President will introduce them. That'll be a big deal.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Some of those women's team, they won't show up. And
- 9:43Speaker 2: fake news playing this up they would refuse to show
- 9:46Speaker 2: up for presidents. Well, if you check the record, plenty
- 9:49Speaker 2: of teams refuse to show up, and plenty of players
- 9:52Speaker 2: for every president. The New England Patriots. You know, every
- 9:55Speaker 2: year the Super Bowl champion goes to the White House,
- 9:57Speaker 2: and every year when it was Obama, when it was
- 10:00Speaker 2: when it was Bush, certain players refused to go and
- 10:03Speaker 2: refused to show up. So that's perfectly normal. Don't believe
- 10:06Speaker 2: the fake news narrative. Some of the Epstein they call
- 10:09Speaker 2: them the Epstein Girls, victims, the Epstein girls. They're like
- 10:14Speaker 2: forty three now forty five, a lot of them. But
- 10:17Speaker 2: they'll be there because Democrats are inviting them. They're trying
- 10:20Speaker 2: to make some kind of a connection between Trump and
- 10:23Speaker 2: these Epstein women, even though there's no possible connection, and
- 10:27Speaker 2: they call them the victims. They are victims, but they're
- 10:31Speaker 2: going to try to use them as props tonight, they'll
- 10:34Speaker 2: have them there. And if you watch the crazy news,
- 10:38Speaker 2: the Morning Joe type stuff, and the president what he
- 10:41Speaker 2: actually refused to acknowledge the Epstein victims, and well, it
- 10:46Speaker 2: was the Democrats that refused to acknowledge them. In fact,
- 10:50Speaker 2: for four years under the Biden administration, under Merrick Garland,
- 10:53Speaker 2: under all of that, they hid the Epstein files. They
- 10:57Speaker 2: buried it, refused to release it, refused, they wouldn't even
- 11:00Speaker 2: talk about it. So for four years it was Trump
- 11:02Speaker 2: that two things happened with Trump. First term of Trump.
- 11:06Speaker 2: In the first term of Trump that he arrested Jeffrey Epstein.
- 11:09Speaker 2: It was the Trump administration that arrested Jeffrey Epstein and
- 11:12Speaker 2: put him in prison where he killed himself. In the
- 11:16Speaker 2: second term, it was the Trump administration that released the
- 11:19Speaker 2: files under pressure. But remember it was the Democrats during
- 11:23Speaker 2: their four years that absolutely hid the files, never mentioned them,
- 11:27Speaker 2: never talked about them, kept them buried. So we'll get
- 11:31Speaker 2: back to the State of the Union speech. Hey, terrible
- 11:35Speaker 2: Nancy Guthrie video that's come out. She's increased the reward
- 11:40Speaker 2: to a million dollars. Now, a lot of people were wondering, well,
- 11:42Speaker 2: why didn't you do that the first day? Fifty thousand
- 11:45Speaker 2: was kind of low for a case like this, But
- 11:47Speaker 2: she's put out this. This is hard to watch. It's
- 11:49Speaker 2: her crying into the camera that she she pretty much
- 11:55Speaker 2: realizes her mother is probably gone, but she wants information,
- 11:59Speaker 2: wants to know what happened and where the mother is.
- 12:01Speaker 2: This is it, I think part of it.
- 12:03Speaker 6: We need to know where she is.
- 12:07Speaker 4: We need her to come home.
- 12:10Speaker 6: For that reason, we are offering a family reward of
- 12:15Speaker 6: up to one million dollars for any information that leads
- 12:22Speaker 6: us to her recovery. All of the information about this
- 12:27Speaker 6: reward and the details is in the cauftion below. You
- 12:32Speaker 6: can call the tip.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it'sty. It's a very sad video to watch and
- 12:38Speaker 2: they have no idea what it's now twenty four days.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It's twenty four days that she's been going and it's
- 12:43Speaker 2: hard to be leieve that she'd be alive, a woman
- 12:47Speaker 2: in bad health, a woman with a pacemaker who needed
- 12:50Speaker 2: all kinds of medication, blood pressure, heart medications, twenty four
- 12:53Speaker 2: days without that stuff. So we'll see. They still have
- 12:58Speaker 2: no idea, absolutely no idea. What happened, Hey, the Drudge Report.
- 13:05Speaker 2: People always asking me about the Drudge Report. You know,
- 13:06Speaker 2: it was a conservative, anti democratic, the Drudge Report, and
- 13:12Speaker 2: everybody read it had millions and millions, very often, the
- 13:15Speaker 2: number one website in the world, and then something happened
- 13:18Speaker 2: around twenty nineteen, all of a sudden, it went left wing.
- 13:23Speaker 2: If you look at the drug Drudge Report now, it's
- 13:24Speaker 2: hard to look at it now, it's just bashing Trump.
- 13:26Speaker 2: It hates Trump, it hates Republicans, it hates it's the
- 13:29Speaker 2: most left wing wacko set. And a lot of people say, well,
- 13:32Speaker 2: what happened to Matt Drudge, What happened? What caused this switch? Well,
- 13:36Speaker 2: nobody absolutely one thousand percent knows because they're keeping it
- 13:39Speaker 2: very quiet. But it has been reported that Drudge in
- 13:44Speaker 2: twenty nineteen sold the Drudge Report. So this thing you're
- 13:47Speaker 2: reading now has nothing to do with Matt Drudge. He's
- 13:50Speaker 2: not involved. He is definitely not involved. He's long gone
- 13:52Speaker 2: from the Drudge Report. But it's believed that he sold
- 13:55Speaker 2: it in twenty nineteen to a left wing billionaire who
- 13:59Speaker 2: bought it totally changed it basically. It first neutralized it
- 14:03Speaker 2: and then turned it into a very very anti Trump,
- 14:07Speaker 2: anti Republican site, and readership is way down. It used
- 14:12Speaker 2: to be the number one most read website. Readership is
- 14:15Speaker 2: down like sixty five percent or something like that. But
- 14:18Speaker 2: Drudge is long gone. Supposedly he made a fortune off
- 14:24Speaker 2: the sale. Rasmussen actually reported it first in twenty nineteen.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Drudge no longer involved. To believe he sold it to
- 14:30Speaker 2: it left wing billionaire. Drudge is a I used to
- 14:34Speaker 2: know Matt Rudge very well. He's a guy who loves
- 14:35Speaker 2: to travel the world and enjoy all sorts of things
- 14:38Speaker 2: all over the world and travel of luxury stuff, cars,
- 14:43Speaker 2: all that sort of stuff. Made himself a fortune with it.
- 14:46Speaker 2: And you know, even when it was as big as
- 14:48Speaker 2: it was, he always said that one day he would
- 14:52Speaker 2: just close it down. That was his plan. I don't
- 14:54Speaker 2: know why. He just said it was big as it was,
- 14:56Speaker 2: one day we just turn it off.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Like that.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Well instead came along and offered a fortune and it
- 15:03Speaker 2: was kind of turning it off in a way. So
- 15:04Speaker 2: it's no longer anything to do with Matt Drudge or
- 15:07Speaker 2: the Drudge Report, So just disregarded. Don't even check it anymore. Hey,
- 15:13Speaker 2: we'll take some calls in a minute. Oh you know,
- 15:15Speaker 2: we're gonna have our big event March nineteenth. It's gonna
- 15:19Speaker 2: be this big networking event, a lot of business leaders,
- 15:21Speaker 2: a lot of CEOs. It's a fun event, but it's
- 15:24Speaker 2: a great chance to meet a lot of business leaders
- 15:25Speaker 2: in network with people. I'll be there, Larry MENTI will
- 15:28Speaker 2: be there, Curtis will be there, Curtis Lee Well will
- 15:30Speaker 2: be one of our speaker. It's just short speech, nothing,
- 15:33Speaker 2: but it's mostly a fun event and you'll have a
- 15:36Speaker 2: great time and it's a great networking opportunity. You meet

- 15:40Speaker 2: great CEOs. It's March nineteenth, six to eight pm, two
- 15:45Speaker 2: hours in the evening, like a little cocktail two hours
- 15:48Speaker 2: March nineteenth. We're gonna have it at this beautiful new venue.

- 16:48Speaker 7: Now back to the Mark Simone show on WR.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 16:57Speaker 2: how you.
- 16:57Speaker 8: Doing, Good morning, Mark.
- 16:59Speaker 9: I'm doing well, Thank you very much.
- 17:01Speaker 8: Mark.
- 17:02Speaker 9: A day or two ago, I was watching Fox News
- 17:04Speaker 9: Channel and one of the commentators gave the impression that
- 17:08Speaker 9: Iran is about a week or two away from actually
- 17:12Speaker 9: becoming a nuclear power. And my question, is there any
- 17:17Speaker 9: timeline to that fact?
- 17:18Speaker 2: Well, yeah, good question, Dave. That was actually negotiator Steve
- 17:22Speaker 2: Whitkoff meeting with the Iranians warning the world.
- 17:25Speaker 1: They've been enriching well beyond the number that you need
- 17:30Speaker 1: for civil nuclear it's it's up to sixty percent. They're
- 17:35Speaker 1: probably a week away from having industrial, industrial grade bomb
- 17:42Speaker 1: making material.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And that's well scary stuff. Now again, that's material. The
- 17:47Speaker 2: nuclear plants and all that are gone, but that's scary stuff.
- 17:51Speaker 2: And I think the President will address that tonight in
- 17:54Speaker 2: tonight's speech. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how
- 17:57Speaker 2: you doing?
- 17:58Speaker 10: Good morning, Mark, wishing all my fellow New Yorker is
- 18:02Speaker 10: good luck with this stupid snow.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah, well, good luck with your eight hurricanes you're gonna
- 18:06Speaker 2: have this year.
- 18:07Speaker 10: I'm not being sarcastic. I'm gonna believe me. I'm not
- 18:10Speaker 10: told about that either, or the power outages.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Every time you thing about snow, it just melts and
- 18:14Speaker 2: goes away. It doesn't knock your house like those for sure.
- 18:18Speaker 4: You said it.
- 18:19Speaker 10: Yeah, but you know it was funny because you know,
- 18:23Speaker 10: Trump is getting excoriated now for joking with the men's
- 18:26Speaker 10: hockey team. You know, these are the same people who
- 18:28Speaker 10: pride themselves on having these great senses of humor and
- 18:31Speaker 10: being open minded and so forth. And they can't take
- 18:34Speaker 10: a joke. None of them can take They're all glass
- 18:36Speaker 10: jaws when it comes.
- 18:37Speaker 2: To Nobody has less of a sense of humor than
- 18:39Speaker 2: democrats like Kimmel Colbert, no sense of humor whatsoever. Let's
- 18:45Speaker 2: go to Let's go to Lorraine in Long Island. Lorraine,
- 18:47Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 18:49Speaker 11: I'm fine, Thank you, good morning. More, thank you for
- 18:51Speaker 11: taking my call.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Hey, where are you in Long Island.
- 18:54Speaker 11: I'm Inrich's Day.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Oh you got a lot of snow there south shore?
- 18:58Speaker 4: Right?
- 18:58Speaker 11: Oh, yes, quite a bit, quite a bit out now, thanks,
- 19:03Speaker 11: thanks for that. Just a quick question. There doesn't seem
- 19:07Speaker 11: to be much reporting on the DHS shut shutdown regarding
- 19:11Speaker 11: TSA at the airports. And I'm planning a trip to
- 19:14Speaker 11: Florida in March, and what do you think is going
- 19:18Speaker 11: to happen with that would be over by then or
- 19:22Speaker 11: what's going on there?
- 19:23Speaker 2: That should be okay? But you may not have the
- 19:27Speaker 2: what do you call it the pre check you know
- 19:29Speaker 2: where you Yes, do you have that where you don't
- 19:31Speaker 2: wait in the line.
- 19:33Speaker 10: Yes, I do.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You might you might get effect on they might have
- 19:36Speaker 2: to shut that down. But uh well this could change
- 19:40Speaker 2: at any moment. You got you got a week or two,
- 19:42Speaker 2: so hopefully it gets settled. A good question. Uh you know,
- 19:47Speaker 2: they're not funded the Department of Homeland Security. This is
- 19:50Speaker 2: their new thing. Instead of defund the police, defund Department
- 19:53Speaker 2: Homeland Security. But that includes a secret service in there.
- 19:56Speaker 2: FEMA is in that department and the TSA, so they're
- 20:00Speaker 2: working right now. There's enough money to keep paying them,
- 20:02Speaker 2: but it could run out and they might have to
- 20:04Speaker 2: cancel that TSA pre check stuff. But also believe or not,
- 20:10Speaker 2: if you're in Congress, you get a special escort that
- 20:12Speaker 2: walks you past the line. So they have announced they
- 20:16Speaker 2: have to cancel that special escort program due to a
- 20:19Speaker 2: man power shortage there. But that's just to make the
- 20:23Speaker 2: make the congressmen and women feel the pain of this.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Let's go to John in Norwalk, Connecticut. Hey, John, Hi,
- 20:30Speaker 2: how are you good?
- 20:31Speaker 7: I'm just curious Mark under report that the kid who
- 20:36Speaker 7: shot the insurances that get over the back. I'm told
- 20:39Speaker 7: that they the judge is taking the death penalty off
- 20:42Speaker 7: the table.
- 20:42Speaker 2: How is it possible, Well, it looks like they may
- 20:45Speaker 2: have They may lose the charge. It has a death penalty.
- 20:48Speaker 2: It's possible he could.
- 20:49Speaker 7: And also that the gun was not admitted as evidence.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Well, this hasn't been settled yet. But remember the good
- 20:57Speaker 2: news that they're arguing that when he was arrest did
- 21:00Speaker 2: something was illegal in the arrest. But the good news
- 21:04Speaker 2: is he shot him right outside our window, right over
- 21:06Speaker 2: there on the corner. And yeah, it's right outside the window.
- 21:09Speaker 2: The good news is every into Manhattan has surveillance video cameras,
- 21:13Speaker 2: so you can watch him shoot the guy. You can
- 21:15Speaker 2: see the video. There's no way, no way he doesn't
- 21:18Speaker 2: get convicted. Let's go to Dan and Queen's Dan. How
- 21:21Speaker 2: you doing.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Hi?
- 21:24Speaker 8: You know, for years the Democrats have been putting out
- 21:27Speaker 8: propaganda about global warming and the earth is warming. So
- 21:30Speaker 8: now they're not prepared when we have this huge blizzards.
- 21:33Speaker 8: They're all struck by something like this that could happen.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Well, you got to remember everything they told you turned
- 21:39Speaker 2: out to be false. If you go get the Al
- 21:41Speaker 2: Gore movie An Inconvenient Truth from twenty years ago, watch it.
- 21:44Speaker 8: Now.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Every single thing he predicted was not only false, the
- 21:48Speaker 2: exact opposite happened. You know, he said, well, there are
- 21:51Speaker 2: only seven thousand polar bears, there won't be any in
- 21:53Speaker 2: ten years. Well, there's more polar bears than ever this
- 21:56Speaker 2: twenty thousand. Remember we said the glacier will recede and
- 21:58Speaker 2: be gone. The glacier's big than ever. Everything he said,
- 22:02Speaker 2: just the opposite happened. There one more call, Bill from Lafayette, Bill,
- 22:06Speaker 2: how you doing okay?
- 22:08Speaker 4: Mark?
- 22:09Speaker 9: The police officers being hit by snowball joke today, it
- 22:12Speaker 9: really bothered me.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Oh, it's horrible. We're gonna get to that in the
- 22:15Speaker 2: next hour. A bunch of kids throwing I don't know
- 22:17Speaker 2: if there were kids, but the police officer's been hit
- 22:19Speaker 2: with snowballs. It's really ugly video. We'll get to that
- 22:22Speaker 2: in the next hour. The police are going to respond
- 22:25Speaker 2: to that. But when we come back, John Carney, who's
- 22:29Speaker 2: this guy is the smartest, brightest business reporter in the world.
- 22:34Speaker 2: He can explain the tariffs better than anybody. Uh, and
- 22:37Speaker 2: it's obviously going to be a big topic. The tariffs
- 22:39Speaker 2: are Supreme Court ruling tonight on the State of the
- 22:43Speaker 2: Union speech. But we'll talk to him about that the economy,
- 22:45Speaker 2: and a whole lot more just ahead on seven to
- 22:47Speaker 2: ten Worrs.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Mark Simone Show continues.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Now, well, we bring you the smartest guests around.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Now.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Nobody better on the subject the business the economy than
- 23:02Speaker 2: John Carney. He runs as the editor of Breitbart Business Digest,
- 23:07Speaker 2: which you should subscribe to Breitbart Business Digest excellent stuff
- 23:12Speaker 2: every day, and of course follow him on Twitter and
- 23:15Speaker 2: you'll see him on TV all the time. John Carney,
- 23:18Speaker 2: how you.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Doing, I'm doing good.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Thanks Mark.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Hey, nobody better on the subject of tariffs. Now, just
- 23:25Speaker 2: explain to everybody there will continue to be tariffs, right.
- 23:28Speaker 2: The President will find another way to do it.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Absolutely, Look, the President has already announced one way he's
- 23:35Speaker 3: doing it that's limited to one hundred and fifty days.
- 23:38Speaker 4: But this is the game plan.
- 23:40Speaker 3: So they've been working on this for months. I know
- 23:43Speaker 3: this because I was speaking to people six months ago
- 23:47Speaker 3: really about you know, hey, guys, what happens if the
- 23:50Speaker 3: tariffs that you're doing get overturned is we're there will
- 23:55Speaker 3: be no gap. We will have tariffs back the next day,
- 23:59Speaker 3: Act the same day, and one of the things we're
- 24:03Speaker 3: gonna do is the one hundred and fifty days will run,
- 24:05Speaker 3: and then there will be new tariffs that.
- 24:07Speaker 4: They're going to implement.
- 24:09Speaker 3: The one hundred and fifty days, it's almost just opening time.
- 24:13Speaker 3: So a lot of these other tariff laws required you.
- 24:17Speaker 4: To do studies.
- 24:18Speaker 3: They require Commerce Department reports, and then you can implement
- 24:21Speaker 3: the urffs. So we get these they call them Section
- 24:24Speaker 3: one twenty two turfs one hundred and fifty days. Then
- 24:27Speaker 3: we'll get the other tariffs as well. So, yes, the
- 24:31Speaker 3: policy doesn't change, even if the tools might have to.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so when the MSNBC crowd reports things like an
- 24:39Speaker 2: incredible knockdown of the Trump terror the Supreme Court, basically
- 24:43Speaker 2: the game wasn't more of a slap on the wrist.
- 24:45Speaker 2: They didn't even suggest any remedy or anything. They kind
- 24:48Speaker 2: of left them a little whiggle room there, didn't they.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Yeah, look, the idea that this is like some humiliating defeat.
- 24:57Speaker 4: The three.
- 25:00Speaker 3: The two best judges on the Supreme Court, which is
- 25:02Speaker 3: which are Alito and Thomas sided with Trump on this.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Kavanaugh sided with Trump on this. He and you know,
- 25:10Speaker 3: rising star young guy. But I will say that they
- 25:15Speaker 3: are When the Supreme Court takes a case, it usually
- 25:19Speaker 3: means that it's actually an interesting and close case of
- 25:24Speaker 3: the law. It doesn't need to take the easy cases. Yeah,
- 25:27Speaker 3: and this decision had a million opinions in it, so
- 25:30Speaker 3: you had the Roberts opinion, but Thomas writing separately, the
- 25:34Speaker 3: Gorsuch opinion. The liberal judges had at least two opinions.
- 25:38Speaker 3: So the idea that you know, there's this was some
- 25:41Speaker 3: sort of huge stepback. It was a close thing in
- 25:45Speaker 3: many ways, and you lost six to three. But that
- 25:49Speaker 3: doesn't mean that it wasn't worth at least trying.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Hey, now, John Carney, the Democrats claim that they hate tariffs,
- 25:58Speaker 2: that it's the worst thing in the world. Well, there
- 26:01Speaker 2: for corporate tax. Doesn't corporate tax raise the price more
- 26:04Speaker 2: than the tariff might.
- 26:06Speaker 3: And by the way, a lot of these downcrastions to
- 26:08Speaker 3: be four teriffs until the game before yesterday.
- 26:12Speaker 4: They hate them.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Because Donald Trump's for them. It's one hundred percent Trump
- 26:15Speaker 3: derangement syndrome. But you're right, look what a the main thing,
- 26:21Speaker 3: and you know, most directly, a tariff is a form
- 26:25Speaker 3: of corporate tax. It makes a company doing an import
- 26:29Speaker 3: pay a tax. Now who ultimately bears the cost, you know, consumers,
- 26:35Speaker 3: foreign manufacturers, the shareholders of the company. That's a more
- 26:41Speaker 3: complicated question, but it's the same question as a corporate tax.
- 26:46Speaker 3: So when Democrats declare that a that you know, this
- 26:49Speaker 3: is a tax on consumers.
- 26:51Speaker 4: If they're right about that, every.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Corporate tax is a tax on consumers as well. So
- 26:56Speaker 3: it's really amazingly hypocritical of them to have discovered that
- 27:00Speaker 3: they don't like taxing corporations simply because.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Donald Trump is doing it one way.
- 27:06Speaker 3: It's incredible to watch, and I.
- 27:09Speaker 12: Think it's going to backfire on them because.
- 27:12Speaker 3: They are hurting their arguments right, like when they say
- 27:16Speaker 3: it'll get passed on to consumers. Guess what, that's the
- 27:19Speaker 3: argument against raising corporate taxes, the argument.
- 27:22Speaker 12: Against environmental regulation, to see, you.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Know, all of these things can get passed on to consumers.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's in the tariff worse because if you've
- 27:29Speaker 2: put a corporate tax at ten percent on Apple BMW,
- 27:34Speaker 2: they pay the whole ten percent if you put a tariff,
- 27:37Speaker 2: isn't it true that they don't really have to pay
- 27:39Speaker 2: the whole tariff, that it's paid overseas or with middlemen sometimes?
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeah, well exactly. So one of the things about the
- 27:46Speaker 3: tariff is that some of it will be borne by
- 27:49Speaker 3: the foreign producers. The other thing is that foreign corporations
- 27:54Speaker 3: pay some of these taxes, so that this is one
- 27:58Speaker 3: of the things that's really deceptive about the way it's
- 28:00Speaker 3: The story is sold, Oh, Americans are paying taxes because.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Importers pay them.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Sure, but let's say you're Toyota, right, and you are
- 28:08Speaker 3: taking and your American subsidiary is for your BYD the
- 28:13Speaker 3: Chinese auto manufacturer, and you're paying tariffs.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Are you an American paying tariffs?
- 28:19Speaker 3: Yes, technically you're an American subsidiary of a foreign company.
- 28:24Speaker 3: But really it's the foreign company that's paying the tariffs.
- 28:28Speaker 3: And so even when they try to say Americans are
- 28:31Speaker 3: paying the terriffs, it turns out a lot of those
- 28:33Speaker 3: Americans are Chinese, Japanese, German, you.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Know, they're not really Americans to begin with.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, now, if Donald Trump, but a president
- 28:41Speaker 2: is listening right now, what advice would you give them
- 28:43Speaker 2: for tonight's stay.
- 28:44Speaker 3: I would say, really easily, mister president, there you are
- 28:49Speaker 3: allowed to charge a license to import or to export
- 28:54Speaker 3: things into the US. The president should absolutely say to
- 28:59Speaker 3: each country that runs a large deficit that they must
- 29:03Speaker 3: for their country purchase an export license to the US,
- 29:07Speaker 3: and you can set that at the same billions of
- 29:10Speaker 3: dollars they would have been paying in tariffs. It's an elegant,
- 29:14Speaker 3: easy solution. It's totally legal. It's legal. Even it was
- 29:18Speaker 3: legal before the Supreme Court case. It's in a sense
- 29:21Speaker 3: more legal now because they said you can't do tariffs,
- 29:25Speaker 3: but you could do licenses. The President should definitely look
- 29:29Speaker 3: into the licensing scheme that we've described it prime our
- 29:31Speaker 3: business digest. We call it IASS and this would And
- 29:37Speaker 3: the other great thing about it is you can negotiate
- 29:39Speaker 3: it up and down the license fee. Donald Trump loves
- 29:43Speaker 3: to be able to negotiate things. Okay, if you give
- 29:45Speaker 3: me a bigger deal and give you a lesser license fee.
- 29:48Speaker 3: He can do that with this iasis program.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Huh. All right, now, if Morning Joe is listening, I
- 29:53Speaker 2: hear him yell all morning about here. The President better
- 29:55Speaker 2: not take credit for solving the affordability crisis because people
- 29:58Speaker 2: are still feeling it. What's the truth. I mean, obviously
- 30:01Speaker 2: we have to improve. But he has done a lot
- 30:04Speaker 2: about affordability, hasn't he.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Well yeah, yeah, well so absolutely. Inflation is way down.
- 30:10Speaker 3: I have a piece that I wrote for Breitbart about
- 30:13Speaker 3: seventy one things that are actually lower in price than
- 30:18Speaker 3: Trump took over.
- 30:20Speaker 4: Well, it really just January alone.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Seventy one things, I think forty one things that are
- 30:25Speaker 3: lower than they were a year ago. So a lot
- 30:28Speaker 3: of times you can bring down inflation, and inflation is
- 30:30Speaker 3: lower than it was, you know, under the horrible Biden
- 30:35Speaker 3: regime where inflation got up to the highest rat in
- 30:38Speaker 3: forty years. It's still a little too high, but it
- 30:40Speaker 3: has come down and it keeps coming down. But one
- 30:44Speaker 3: thing they said was impossible or that some that prices
- 30:48Speaker 3: would go down, but we're actually seeing a lot of things.
- 30:51Speaker 3: The price of experences is down thirty four percent year
- 30:55Speaker 3: over year.
- 30:56Speaker 4: That's incredible.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Wow, well, great stuff. Now Breitbart Business Digest. Everybody should
- 31:01Speaker 2: subscribe to that weather. What's the best way to do that?
- 31:04Speaker 2: To where do you find it?

- 31:24Speaker 12: Also give you, I think of what's coming.

- 32:37Speaker 2: it's supposedly just an inch, which is nothing. I know
- 32:40Speaker 2: you said an inches. No, hey, you got twenty inches.
- 32:43Speaker 2: One inch more isn't gonna make any difference. And it's
- 32:46Speaker 2: gonna be warm tomorrow and then it'll get warmer. It'll
- 32:48Speaker 2: be in the forties towards the end of the week,
- 32:51Speaker 2: and it'll be in the mid forties all weekend, so
- 32:54Speaker 2: that we'll get rid of the snow. Anyway, You're gonna
- 32:57Speaker 2: have a little rain now, which you want. As a

- 33:07Speaker 2: five days until spring. Twenty five days until spring's less
- 33:11Speaker 2: than a month away. And also you only got twelve
- 33:14Speaker 2: days till daylight saving time. Daylight saving time begins a
- 33:18Speaker 2: week from Sunday, and that means it'll be light out
- 33:21Speaker 2: till like six thirty at night, so that'll be that'll
- 33:23Speaker 2: be great. Hey, we got a lot to get to
- 33:25Speaker 2: in the next hour. Bill O'Reilly will be with us.
- 33:28Speaker 2: We'll get to we'll get to that terrible incident yesterday.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Police officers getting hit with snowballs by these kids. It
- 33:35Speaker 2: was awful, it was ugly. What's the response going to be,
- 33:38Speaker 2: where's the mayor on all of this? We'll get to that.
- 33:40Speaker 2: We'll get to a Gavin Newsom in trouble for all
