A Texas jury convicted 25-year-old Jonathan Martinez Aranda of murder in the June 2025 killing of 24-year-old Mathew Fonseca outside a Fort Worth home. Motivated by jealousy, Aranda allegedly confronted Fonseca, shot him multiple times in the driveway, then dumped the weapon in Lake Worth. Two witnesses found Fonseca dead and initially thought it was a suicide—until Aranda called one, saying “I got you.” The jury saw through his story, handing down a 30-year sentence for the cold-blooded crime.
