Dig up your own rainbow obsidian in California’s Warner Mountains—legal, rare, and seriously cool. Obsidian Day on August 22nd is the big event, but permits are also available for a few summer weeks. Grab two five-gallon buckets (max 100 lbs) and head to spots like Rainbow Mine or Pink Lady for iridescent, lavender, or needle-like volcanic glass.
