- 0:07Speaker 1: Great song from Alicia Keys. It would have sounded better
- 0:09Speaker 1: coming off of Nick's victory. But like we said, it
- 0:11Speaker 1: was only one game.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:13Speaker 1: But a great night at the Garden last night, getting
- 0:15Speaker 1: their rings and that championship banner. It's 106.7 Light FM
- 0:18Speaker 1: with Cubby, Christine, and producer Kristen. Here we are on
- 0:21Speaker 1: this October 21st. It's Back to the Future Day. It
- 0:25Speaker 1: was in Back to the Future 2 that they time
- 0:28Speaker 1: traveled from 85 to October 21st, 2015.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Remember how futuristic 2015 was in 85?
- 0:35Speaker 3: Did they have flying cars? I forget.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, they did. Yeah, the thing would just take
- 0:40Speaker 4: off and shoot.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And Back to the Future 2 was in 89. So
- 0:45Speaker 1: in 89, they were, you know, looking at 2015. And
- 0:47Speaker 1: now it's just weird to think that we're 11 years
- 0:49Speaker 1: removed from 2015.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Right. 2015's so old.
- 0:53Speaker 3: We do have self-driving cars.
- 0:55Speaker 1: It's like when Prince 1999 came out in the 80s.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You're like, wow, 1999, it's going to be pretty futuristic.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And now it's come and gone.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Yeah. But here we are. We're back.
- 1:06Speaker 1: We come and go every day, but we managed to
- 1:08Speaker 1: make it back. It's just after 6 o'clock on a
- 1:10Speaker 1: hump day. We said goodbye at 10 o'clock yesterday morning.
- 1:13Speaker 1: And you have something to look forward to, Christine. You
- 1:16Speaker 1: did some booking, I heard, overnight.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I did, yes.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Where are you going?
- 1:21Speaker 3: Back to the Christmas markets.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Good for you.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yes, do you remember I went last year and I
- 1:25Speaker 3: loved it, reunited with my family there. It was just incredible.
- 1:29Speaker 3: So I kind of wanted to get that feeling again.
- 1:33Speaker 3: So I booked a trip. Eric and I are going
- 1:35Speaker 3: to go to Cologne, Christmas markets in Cologne.
- 1:38Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And then Vienna.
- 1:40Speaker 4: That's a good trip right there.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
- 1:42Speaker 4: You're going for like a week?
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, just a week, early December. So December is going
- 1:46Speaker 3: to be a little crazy, you know, for us.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I know. Like, that's why I wanted to clear it
- 1:51Speaker 3: with you guys. Are you okay if I leave? Because
- 1:53Speaker 3: we have a lot going on.
- 1:54Speaker 4: You have the days, too.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I have the days. I didn't really do a trip
- 1:57Speaker 3: this summer.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 1:58Speaker 3: So the days were just going to go, bye-bye, if
- 2:00Speaker 3: I didn't use them.
- 2:02Speaker 4: It had a good feeling, though. Yeah. When the trip
- 2:03Speaker 4: is officially booked. Like, you may be thinking about it,
- 2:06Speaker 4: and that gets you excited. But now it's like, click, click, click, boom, done.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Done.
- 2:09Speaker 4: And now you have something to look forward to.
- 2:10Speaker 3: And now we can just, right, plan. Like, okay, what
- 2:13Speaker 3: do we need? And, you know, of course, Eric will
- 2:16Speaker 3: say that I overpack, because I do.
- 2:18Speaker 4: But.
- 2:19Speaker 3: As all women do. We need to. You need a
- 2:22Speaker 3: lot of stuff. It's like when you travel in the winter,
- 2:24Speaker 3: you need heavier gear.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:26Speaker 3: You know, you've got to like pack boots and stuff
- 2:28Speaker 3: like that.
- 2:28Speaker 4: And I always make the underwear joke. Why do we
- 2:30Speaker 4: pack so much underwear when we go on vacation as
- 2:32Speaker 4: if we're going to poop?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Just in case.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Like in our underwear every single day.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I know we pack extra.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I bring backup like I poop by accident. But I don't.
- 2:41Speaker 3: It doesn't happen. I know. We do everything. It's like
- 2:44Speaker 3: you're prepared for every emergency. But thank you so much,
- 2:47Speaker 3: Kelly Brenning. Kelly is our travel agent for years. She's
- 2:50Speaker 3: just been so wonderful.
- 2:51Speaker 4: I love travel agents are still doing their thing.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 1: In this day and age, you would think it'd be
- 2:55Speaker 1: tough because everyone books things on their own. But now
- 2:58Speaker 1: I think there's so many things to think about.
- 3:00Speaker 4: There are. You need a traveler. Right.
- 3:01Speaker 3: No, she's been incredibly helpful because there's connecting flights that
- 3:05Speaker 3: we need and, you know, even guidance on the hotels.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Because I know you can read the reviews on the hotels,
- 3:10Speaker 3: but sometimes I don't know. It's just it really it
- 3:13Speaker 3: makes a big difference.
- 3:14Speaker 4: And your passports. Last question. Passports are good. We're good.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Because sometimes you forget about that. You're like, oh, my gosh,
- 3:19Speaker 4: it's expiring.
- 3:20Speaker 3: No, we're good through 2030. What we do have to
- 3:22Speaker 3: do is like there's just a little new thing when
- 3:27Speaker 3: you're going into Europe now that you have to fill
- 3:29Speaker 3: out in advance. You guys probably have done it to travel.
- 3:31Speaker 4: A couple weeks ahead of time, right? Yeah, yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 3: You just make sure you're doing that.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Well, I can't believe it. It's flying by.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And we're talking Christmas.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We're at the end of October soon. And Halloween, Thanksgiving,
- 3:42Speaker 1: holidays are here. It's Light FM.
- 3:43Speaker 2: More Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I need to tell you two things.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Covey and Christine's. Two pretty cool things. Bring the kids.
- 3:57Speaker 4: A lot of cool things happening at Liberty Science Center
- 3:59Speaker 4: in Jersey City. You can become the ghost.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Their Spooky Fest includes a photo opportunity using the classic
- 4:07Speaker 1: Pepper's Ghost Illusion, plus a Halloween laser show in the planetarium.
- 4:11Speaker 4: It's happening through November 1st. And finally, Christine, a family photo.
- 4:15Speaker 4: We're looking a little transparent is actually the goal.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 4:18Speaker 4: That's what you want to do. Right. But it's really
- 4:20Speaker 4: cool what they're doing at Liberty Science Center.
- 4:22Speaker 3: That is fun.
- 4:22Speaker 4: I drive by there all the time and always good
- 4:25Speaker 4: for the kids.
- 4:25Speaker 3: That is good.
- 4:26Speaker 4: What's your cool thing?
- 4:27Speaker 3: I'm going to jump to Christmas since we said.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Time flies.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Time is flying. Mariah Carey's doing it again, bringing her
- 4:33Speaker 3: holiday pop-up bars back this year, doubling the number of locations.
- 4:38Speaker 3: So it's going to be in a bunch of cities,
- 4:40Speaker 3: but for us, the most important, of course, is New York.
- 4:42Speaker 3: And it's going to be here as of November 19th.
- 4:46Speaker 3: So guests can expect over-the-top Christmas decor, Mariah-themed photo opportunities,
- 4:52Speaker 3: and cocktails featuring her Black Irish Cream Liqueur. Exact 2026
- 4:57Speaker 3: ticket prices haven't been announced yet, but you can join...
- 5:01Speaker 3: A wait list online for Mariah's pop-up Christmas holiday bar.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Might as well get online. All I want for Christmas,
- 5:08Speaker 4: all queued up.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Let's do it. 106.7 Light FM. More variety from the
- 5:13Speaker 1: 80s through today. We've got Pink next on Light FM.
- 5:16Speaker 2: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 5:22Speaker 4: An excellent wedding reception song right there. 106.7 Light FM.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Uptown Funk, too. A good one from him. It's Cubby, Christine,
- 5:30Speaker 4: producer Kristen.
- 5:31Speaker 1: And the reason I brought up wedding reception, I'm just
- 5:33Speaker 1: talking weddings here with you about a new trend that's
- 5:37Speaker 1: Great idea.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Do we like this?
- 5:38Speaker 4: Yeah. What do you think? Give us a text at 44363.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Okay, so there is a trend now because we know
- 5:44Speaker 3: how expensive weddings are. And people RSVP and you've got
- 5:48Speaker 3: it booked and you've paid for their seats and their
- 5:51Speaker 3: dinner and everything that goes with it.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Sometimes you even have to tell what kind of dinner
- 5:55Speaker 4: you want. Yeah, it's all done. You can check off
- 5:56Speaker 4: the box.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Right, it's all set. And it costs you a lot
- 5:59Speaker 3: of money. And then these people can't make it for
- 6:01Speaker 3: some reason.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Last minute cancellation.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Kind of last minute cancellation. So some couples... are now
- 6:07Speaker 3: selling those seats.
- 6:10Speaker 4: This is brilliant. I mean, you know, make some money back.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I'm imagining they they pick a sum that's not like super,
- 6:17Speaker 3: super expensive, like something a little fair. So it feels
- 6:19Speaker 3: like a bit of a deal for the person to
- 6:21Speaker 3: go to a wedding where they don't know anyone.
- 6:23Speaker 4: And you're making a little bit more money than you
- 6:24Speaker 4: would have.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Right. But they say, you know, these wedding crashers have
- 6:28Speaker 3: been vetted. They go through a website, make sure, you know,
- 6:31Speaker 3: they're OK. And they actually have a lot of fun
- 6:34Speaker 3: because they're having dinner, they're dancing, and they're celebrating somebody's
- 6:38Speaker 3: big day. The people who have done it said they've
- 6:41Speaker 3: been embraced by the couple, the family. It's just like
- 6:43Speaker 3: it's a party.
- 6:44Speaker 4: But it could happen on a moment's notice.
- 6:46Speaker 1: You could be at home and you get a text
- 6:48Speaker 1: or an email if you've already signed.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Up for the service. Yeah. Like, oh, my God, honey,
- 6:52Speaker 4: we got to go. There's a wedding 30 minutes away.
- 6:55Speaker 4: We're having dinner there.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:57Speaker 4: That's how I envision how it happens.
- 6:59Speaker 3: You get to get dressed up at weddings. You know,
- 7:01Speaker 3: that's a good vibe. That's a happy vibe.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So it kind of reminds me of the app you've
- 7:05Speaker 1: heard of too good to go. We've talked about this before.
- 7:08Speaker 1: There's an app called too.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Good to go.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And you can look at places in your area. That
- 7:12Speaker 1: are getting rid of food that they couldn't sell.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Oh. So say there's a bagel store nearby where you live, Christine.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Right. Okay.
- 7:19Speaker 1: At 7 o'clock at night, they'll be like, oh, man,
- 7:21Speaker 1: we have all these bagels we never sold today. Let's
- 7:23Speaker 1: just get rid of them.
- 7:25Speaker 4: And they put out a notification and you can get
- 7:27Speaker 4: like 20 bagels for two bucks.
- 7:29Speaker 3: That's great.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Because they just want to get them out.
- 7:30Speaker 3: And the food's not being wasted.
- 7:32Speaker 4: I love that.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Right.
- 7:33Speaker 4: And the food's not being wasted.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Right. So, yeah. So this is, you can check into
- 7:36Speaker 3: this if, why not this weekend? Have a little party
- 7:40Speaker 3: at somebody's wedding.
- 7:40Speaker 4: But you may not know until the last minute, right?
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Hit us up at 44363. More Cubby and Christine.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And the great music variety you expect. Next on Light FM.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Think about what year you were born. We're going to
- 7:53Speaker 4: tell you the scariest movie that year. It's 106.7 Light FM. Cubby, Christine,
- 7:57Speaker 4: producer Kristen. Reader's Digest put together a list of the
- 8:01Speaker 4: scariest movies from every year from 1950 to 2005. There's
- 8:07Speaker 4: no way we can mention all these, Christine.
- 8:09Speaker 3: We've got some highlights, yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 4: And we're not going to mention the years we were born. No,
- 8:12Speaker 4: we're not touching that.
- 8:14Speaker 1: But we will mention certain years, and we'll see if
- 8:17Speaker 1: it kind of cross-checks with the people that are listening
- 8:19Speaker 1: right now.
- 8:20Speaker 4: So should we start with just way back to 1959? Yeah, sure.
- 8:23Speaker 4: The scariest movie in 1959 was House on Haunted Hill.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Really know that one either.
- 8:31Speaker 4: It sounds familiar like they remade it maybe.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I feel like they remade it. I feel like I
- 8:34Speaker 3: know the updated scary one and it is scary. The
- 8:36Speaker 3: updated one.
- 8:37Speaker 4: But the 59 version.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Didn't know about it.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Maybe black and white. I picture that being scary.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Yeah 1960 brought us Psycho and that's definitely scary.
- 8:46Speaker 4: I'm telling you what.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And disturbing.
- 8:48Speaker 4: You could put Psycho on right now it would scare me. Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Like some horror movies don't hold up. Right. But that
- 8:53Speaker 4: one does.
- 8:54Speaker 3: And the music yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 1: If you were born in 1962. Carnival of Souls, scariest
- 9:01Speaker 1: movie of that year. Bouncing around here, 1966, Kill Baby Kill.
- 9:06Speaker 3: 68 was Night of the Living Dead.
- 9:11Speaker 4: That got me.
- 9:11Speaker 3: That's a really creepy one. And 1973, The Exorcist.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Which some people say is the scariest movie of all time.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Like ever. 1974, it might be the second most scariest
- 9:23Speaker 1: movie of all time. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I saw
- 9:26Speaker 1: that for the first time on VHS in the middle
- 9:28Speaker 1: of the day at 3 p.m.
- 9:30Speaker 4: After school. A friend of mine brought it over.
- 9:32Speaker 1: We thought maybe with the sun shining and the windows open,
- 9:35Speaker 1: we wouldn't be scared.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Messed me up, man.
- 9:38Speaker 3: They've just made so many versions of that or sequels.
- 9:40Speaker 4: They have.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I know the later ones. Again, I know the later ones.
- 9:44Speaker 3: 1975 brought us Jaws, which is a classic.
- 9:47Speaker 4: And that just scared you from going to the beach. Right.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It was a scary movie, but it didn't impact your
- 9:52Speaker 1: everyday life. but it messed me up going to the beach.
- 9:54Speaker 3: The Omen in 1976.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Halloween, the movie, in 1976.
- 10:00Speaker 3: If you were born in 80, that is the scariest
- 10:03Speaker 3: movie of 1980.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Oh, boy.
- 10:04Speaker 3: A movie I've.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Never seen in 1981, The Evil Dead. Yeah, I don't
- 10:06Speaker 4: know it either. The Thing in 1982.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And the scariest movie in 84 was, Christine?
- 10:19Speaker 3: A Nightmare on Elm Street.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 10:21Speaker 3: That one stands out.
- 10:22Speaker 4: I never saw Hellraiser. That's 87. And again, we're bouncing around.
- 10:26Speaker 4: We don't have all of them.
- 10:27Speaker 1: So I'm sorry for you 85 people and you 86 people.
- 10:31Speaker 1: But 87, Hellraiser. Pet Sematary in 1989.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Ooh, Silence of the Lambs in 1991. I don't even
- 10:40Speaker 3: know that I call that a horror movie. It's like
- 10:43Speaker 3: a thriller. It's a psychological thriller or something? Yeah, but
- 10:48Speaker 3: it was disturbing for sure, and we still put the
- 10:51Speaker 3: lotion on its skin. I mean, I still say lines
- 10:53Speaker 3: from that movie.
- 10:55Speaker 4: And that whole spit thing?
- 10:57Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Of all the movies we've mentioned so far, which one, Kristen,
- 11:02Speaker 1: stands out to you as one of the scariest?
- 11:05Speaker 4: The Omen.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Oh, The Omen.
- 11:07Speaker 4: The Omen was 1976, and you weren't born then, but
- 11:10Speaker 4: Just overall, that movie's scary.
- 11:11Speaker 3: No, but some of these older... I'm telling you, like,
- 11:13Speaker 3: the black and white movies that I saw that my
- 11:15Speaker 3: brothers made me watch as a kid, like Frankenstein, I
- 11:19Speaker 3: never got over.
- 11:19Speaker 4: There's something about the black and white.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Too, that helps. Yeah, and The Bride of Frankenstein.
- 11:24Speaker 1: If you were born in 1999, which, like, weird to say,
- 11:29Speaker 1: but the scariest movie that year is The Blair Witch Project.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Oh, and those guys are getting together. They're just, like,
- 11:35Speaker 3: going around and doing... Yeah, at... Producer Kristen and her
- 11:39Speaker 3: husband do a horror con.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Oh, the horror con.
- 11:42Speaker 3: And the cast is getting together and meeting with people
- 11:45Speaker 3: and they're doing screenings and talking about it because it's
- 11:48Speaker 3: 25 years later.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And that's another movie that I thought was real because
- 11:51Speaker 1: I got a copy of it on VHS and it
- 11:52Speaker 1: was going around.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Oh, you didn't go to the theater?
- 11:54Speaker 4: I didn't go to the theater. And somebody said, you've
- 11:56Speaker 4: got to see this. These kids went camping and all
- 11:58Speaker 4: this happened.
- 11:59Speaker 1: But that was kind of like the trailer almost to
- 12:02Speaker 1: get people talking because we didn't quite have the we
- 12:04Speaker 1: weren't full-blown.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Internet yet right but it looks like a handheld it
- 12:07Speaker 3: looks like they really took their camera out there there
- 12:10Speaker 3: you go the.
- 12:10Speaker 1: One movie that left off is uh 2001 they don't
- 12:14Speaker 1: have it on here but it was extremely scary it
- 12:16Speaker 1: was pootie tang yeah i remember calling movie phone.
- 12:20Speaker 4: And Booty Tang.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Ah, you needed to know.
- 12:24Speaker 4: That was actually a comedy.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 4: And Wanda Sykes was in that. Oh. And Jennifer Coolidge.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Oh, that's a great cast.
- 12:30Speaker 4: It's a great cast.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I don't know the movie at all.
- 12:32Speaker 4: And that was just me being goofy. Yeah. It was
- 12:35Speaker 4: a comedy movie, but the title always cracked me up.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Booty Tang. Yeah. Booty Tang.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Well, it's got that going for it.
- 12:40Speaker 4: In 2001.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Can I just mention The Ring in 2002, Samara in
- 12:43Speaker 3: the well? That was a scary movie.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Would you be mad at me if I told you
- 12:47Speaker 4: I never saw it?
- 12:48Speaker 3: You should see it. Well, you can't because Coco doesn't
- 12:50Speaker 3: like scary movies.
- 12:51Speaker 4: She won't let me watch anything. This one's intense.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I have to watch it by myself. Oh, is it scary?
- 12:54Speaker 4: What do you think, Kristen? What? No? She won't let you? No,
- 12:57Speaker 4: she won't let me. No, I've tried to put on
- 13:00Speaker 4: scary movies. Yeah. And she'll be on her phone. She'll
- 13:03Speaker 4: hear something dramatic, like the music.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And she'll be like, no, no, turn it off. And
- 13:07Speaker 1: I have to find like blues clues or anything scary.
- 13:10Speaker 1: opposite of what we were watching.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Oh, Eric had on Friday the 13th for a minute
- 13:13Speaker 3: last night and I was like, no.
- 13:15Speaker 4: The original? Yeah.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Just even hearing it. Nope. Go back to the Knicks.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Back to the Knicks. Thank you. Yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 4: You got the news coming up, don't you, Christine? Oh, yes.
- 13:24Speaker 3: So we're going to check out the headlines and the
- 13:26Speaker 3: date to book your airline tickets for Thanksgiving is coming
- 13:30Speaker 3: up really soon, like the best deals.
- 13:32Speaker 2: More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you
- 13:35Speaker 2: expect next on Light FM.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Seven o'clock on this hump day.
- 13:38Speaker 1: And Christine has everything you need to know.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Good morning, Christine.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Good morning, Cubby. So we have midterm elections coming up shortly.
- 13:46Speaker 3: The president has been out and about in the country
- 13:48Speaker 3: in the Carolinas today. An American held by Russia for
- 13:52Speaker 3: the past four years has been released after a visit
- 13:55Speaker 3: by U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Hubbard. is a retired teacher
- 13:59Speaker 3: from Michigan. He's lived in Ukraine since 2014, and Russia
- 14:03Speaker 3: had accused him of fighting alongside Ukrainians in the Russian war,
- 14:07Speaker 3: which his family denies. State Department says he was wrongfully detained,
- 14:11Speaker 3: and they were able to get him back home. We
- 14:15Speaker 3: had a deadly crash on the GW Bridge yesterday night.
- 14:17Speaker 3: It was very disturbing. Authorities went to see what happened.
- 14:20Speaker 3: They found the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to
- 14:23Speaker 3: the head. So they're saying someone they believe deliberately did this,
- 14:27Speaker 3: that it was the result of a drive-by attack. New
- 14:30Speaker 3: York Knicks didn't pull it off last night. Okay, so
- 14:33Speaker 3: a beautiful ceremony, raised the banner, saw the incredible ring,
- 14:38Speaker 3: but they lost to the 76ers, 106-100. But Cubby, you
- 14:41Speaker 3: said many, many games to go.
- 14:44Speaker 4: 81 games to go. Don't worry, Knicks fans.
- 14:46Speaker 3: So we're okay. Tonight's Parable jackpot, $ 635 million. Back to
- 14:51Speaker 3: sports hockey. The Devils beat the Avalanche 4-3. Islanders defeated
- 14:54Speaker 3: the Ducks 3-2. And if you plan to travel by
- 14:57Speaker 3: plane for Thanksgiving, travel experts say October 27th is the
- 15:03Speaker 3: day to book your flights. You'll get your biggest savings
- 15:06Speaker 3: compared to waiting closer to Thanksgiving. Experts also say that
- 15:10Speaker 3: fares are lowest if you depart the Monday before Thanksgiving
- 15:14Speaker 3: and return on Sunday.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Seems a little late to me, though.
- 15:18Speaker 3: It does seem late in the game.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Like next week, and then worrying about Thanksgiving in a week.
- 15:23Speaker 3: But October 27th, I would hold off if the flights
- 15:28Speaker 3: were going to be better.
- 15:28Speaker 4: I believe the story.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I would just still be nervous.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah, because it does feel like you're too close.
- 15:33Speaker 4: You're cutting it close.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 4: But they're probably right. Yeah. All right.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Thank you, Christine. Let's get ready for another beautiful day.
- 15:38Speaker 1: No rain in sight.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Sunshine. High 62. Just breezy. It's Light FM with BSB.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Mort Covey and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 15:51Speaker 1: If you're looking for a side hustle, or heck, more
- 15:54Speaker 1: than a side hustle, this could be a big business.
- 15:56Speaker 3: This is a big business.
- 15:57Speaker 4: This could be your full-time job.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 4: People are doing it. Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 3: You know that we live in a really busy world
- 16:03Speaker 3: when we need to hire somebody to come decorate our
- 16:05Speaker 3: house for Halloween.
- 16:06Speaker 4: I mean, I haven't heard of this. I haven't heard
- 16:07Speaker 4: of Christmas and all that.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Christmas, and that's kind of new to me, right? But
- 16:12Speaker 3: there is a woman in Texas who... who has her
- 16:14Speaker 3: own small business that she started in 2020 to decorate
- 16:18Speaker 3: your porch, your house, for Halloween so you're ready for trick-or-treaters.
- 16:22Speaker 3: She charges up to $ 1, 650 per house to get you
- 16:28Speaker 3: all dolled up for Halloween.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Does she take it down, too?
- 16:31Speaker 3: She does not take it down, and she has been
- 16:34Speaker 3: earning over $ 100, 000 a year.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Decorating porches. Yes. I'm sure they're very cool, too. Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I mean, they must look great.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I guess it looks great. She puts out, just for
- 16:44Speaker 3: the record, regular pumpkins. She doesn't do jack-o'-lanterns. She doesn't carve.
- 16:49Speaker 3: None of that.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 16:50Speaker 3: You know, she just gets you.
- 16:51Speaker 4: What if she does like the hay and all that? Probably.
- 16:53Speaker 4: The spider webs.
- 16:54Speaker 3: And the mums, yeah. You know, the mums, like all
- 16:57Speaker 3: the things that kind of go with it. She said,
- 17:00Speaker 3: you know, she can hire like a team of people
- 17:02Speaker 3: to work with her because she's been doing so many houses.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Would you spend that much money, by the way?
- 17:06Speaker 2: $ 16.
- 17:06Speaker 3: 50? For your porch?
- 17:07Speaker 4: No.
- 17:07Speaker 3: No. No, there's a little black cat hanging in the
- 17:13Speaker 3: window right now. And there's a little festive doormat and
- 17:17Speaker 3: we're done.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Dollar tree, all you need.
- 17:18Speaker 3: That's like, yeah, pretty much. I didn't even get pumpkins.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Like normally I get pumpkins.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I haven't even gotten them yet this year. And I'm like, why?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Because we're going to be flipping pretty soon.
- 17:28Speaker 1: It's funny because for the first time ever, I kind
- 17:31Speaker 1: of entertained the idea of having our lights on our
- 17:33Speaker 1: house done for Christmas.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 1: And it's mainly because somebody kind of reached out to
- 17:38Speaker 1: me unsolicited. It was our lawn company. I didn't know
- 17:41Speaker 1: they did it.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Oh, okay. And they had a picture of our house
- 17:44Speaker 4: on Google Earth. Yeah.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And they sent me like an AI version of what
- 17:47Speaker 1: it would look like. And that's what kind of hooked
- 17:49Speaker 1: me in. And they were like, hey, we can do this.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I'm showing Christine right now.
- 17:53Speaker 3: I'm looking at the picture.
- 17:54Speaker 4: It's really cool.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And it was $ 900. $ 900. They have to get, you know,
- 17:58Speaker 3: because you've got, I'm just in a townhome. You've got
- 18:00Speaker 3: a house house and they have to get up on ladders.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Right.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I would say that. That if you can do it,
- 18:05Speaker 3: it's worth it.
- 18:05Speaker 4: It says $ 8.
- 18:06Speaker 2: 90.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I'm reading the whole quote.
- 18:08Speaker 2: $ 8.
- 18:08Speaker 3: 95.
- 18:08Speaker 4: They'll do all the lights. They'll take them down in January.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Oh, they'll take them down, too?
- 18:12Speaker 1: And the takedown is a different fee, though.
- 18:14Speaker 4: They didn't tell me how much that was. But anyway,
- 18:16Speaker 4: you know, it all comes down to the wife.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 4: And she makes big decisions for us. Yes. So I
- 18:21Speaker 4: ran it by her, and she said no.
- 18:23Speaker 3: No.
- 18:24Speaker 4: And I get it. We could use that money in
- 18:26Speaker 4: other places.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I know, but that means... You're getting up on the ladder.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Are you getting up on the ladder?
- 18:31Speaker 4: Do you do all that? No, we'll just go ahead
- 18:33Speaker 4: and do our porch.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Load of the ground. Load of the ground decorations.
- 18:37Speaker 1: What was funny, Christine, is when the person called me,
- 18:40Speaker 1: it was actually a lady, and she understood when I
- 18:42Speaker 1: told her. She goes, I want to know if you
- 18:44Speaker 1: want to move forward with this quote.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 4: And I was like, it looks great. Thank you so much.
- 18:48Speaker 4: But the wife said no, and she went, ah. Never mind.
- 18:51Speaker 4: I got it.
- 18:52Speaker 3: She didn't even bother trying to convince you. She's like, yeah, done.
- 18:56Speaker 2: It's done.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Moving on.
- 18:57Speaker 4: All right.
- 18:59Speaker 2: 44363.
- 18:59Speaker 4: You could always chime in on text.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And would you pay $ 1, 600 to have your porch decorated
- 19:04Speaker 1: for Halloween?
- 19:05Speaker 4: A little late right now, but. It would only be
- 19:07Speaker 4: two weeks worth.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 4: But interesting if you would do it next year.
- 19:11Speaker 2: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 19:17Speaker 4: You pretty good at trivia?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Light FM's Trivia Battle.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Christine, welcome to the hump day edition of a Trivia Battle.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I wonder if we'll have a tie today.
- 19:25Speaker 3: We usually do.
- 19:26Speaker 4: A lot of ties lately. On Team Cubby today, Joe
- 19:30Speaker 4: from Brooklyn is on the phone. Joe, good morning. What
- 19:33Speaker 4: do you do for a living?
- 19:34Speaker 3: I'm a substitute teacher.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Substitute teacher. And we've talked to you before. You sound familiar.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Did you win last time or lose last time?
- 19:41Speaker 2: I lost.
- 19:42Speaker 4: You lost.
- 19:43Speaker 3: You're due.
- 19:44Speaker 4: We'll see what happens. Joe and Team Cubby, good luck.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Who do we have, Christine, on your side?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Don. in mount arlington good morning don good morning are
- 19:53Speaker 3: you on your way into work uh not yet soon
- 19:56Speaker 3: okay all right.
- 19:57Speaker 1: We don't want to hold you up and we want
- 19:59Speaker 1: to like you know kind of get to know more
- 20:01Speaker 1: about you what do.
- 20:01Speaker 4: You do Oh, I'm retired from the post office.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh.
- 20:06Speaker 4: And I work part-time at the school as an aide.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Oh, how nice.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Keeping busy.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Yes. All right.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Well, good luck to you both. We love you already,
- 20:16Speaker 1: but only one can win. Joe, you're going to get
- 20:18Speaker 1: three questions. Dawn, you'll get three questions. Best out of
- 20:21Speaker 1: three wins our trivia battle. Joe, John Krasinski, he just
- 20:26Speaker 1: turned 47 years old yesterday. Which of these actresses is
- 20:30Speaker 1: he married to? A, Emily Blunt. B, Keira Knightley, or C,
- 20:35Speaker 1: Jenna Fisher? I believe he's married to Emily Blunt. He
- 20:40Speaker 1: is married to Emily Blunt. And John Krasinski, many people
- 20:43Speaker 1: know from The Office.
- 20:46Speaker 4: All right, 1-0, Jo.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Dawn, the San Francisco 49ers just played the Washington Commanders
- 20:51Speaker 3: on Monday Night Football. Who is the 49ers quarterback? A,
- 20:55Speaker 3: Jackson Dart, B, Brock Purdy, C, Justin Herbert? I have
- 21:02Speaker 3: no idea. How about A? Jackson Dart?
- 21:06Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:07Speaker 3: No, I'm sorry. It's B. It's Brock Purdy.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Okay. All right. Over to Joe.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Joe, one of the best teams in the National Hockey
- 21:15Speaker 1: League right now is the Golden Knights. What city do
- 21:19Speaker 1: they call home? A, Las Vegas, B, Dallas.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Or C, Nashville? I believe the Golden Knights call Las
- 21:28Speaker 4: Vegas home.
- 21:29Speaker 1: You are correct. You're up 2-0. More pressure now on Dawn,
- 21:33Speaker 1: who needs this to.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Stay in it.
- 21:35Speaker 3: We do, Dawn. Today is National Apple Day. If you
- 21:38Speaker 3: want a bright, green, firm, and tart apple, what kind
- 21:41Speaker 3: would you eat? A, Granny Smith. B, Gala. C, Honeycrisp.
- 21:48Speaker 3: I'm going to say A. Granny Smith? Yes. Yes, you've
- 21:52Speaker 3: got it.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:53Speaker 4: All right, Dawn.
- 21:54Speaker 1: You held off elimination there, but if Joe gets this right,
- 21:57Speaker 1: he'll go three for three and win it all. Joe,
- 22:00Speaker 1: today is Back to the Future Day. What is the
- 22:03Speaker 1: name of Marty McFly's girlfriend in the movie? A, Lorraine, B, Stephanie,
- 22:09Speaker 1: or C, Jennifer?
- 22:11Speaker 4: Jennifer.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Jennifer is correct, and Joe goes three for three, so
- 22:15Speaker 1: we are done.
- 22:16Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Don. We can't come back from that one,
- 22:19Speaker 3: but thank you. You can always call us again.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 22:22Speaker 4: I had fun.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Thank you. Have a good day. Joe, congratulations. You're going
- 22:27Speaker 3: to see Michelle Branch at the Beacon Theater Thursday, November 5th.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Thank you so much, and I'm sorry, Dawn. A gracious
- 22:34Speaker 4: winner right there. Yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 1: And, Dawn, you can play, like you said, Christine, play tomorrow.
- 22:38Speaker 1: We say that all the time, but we truly mean it.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Well, it's true.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 3: If you want that. If you want to win these tickets.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Just try again. 1-800-222-1067. Tomorrow morning, Michelle Branch.
- 22:46Speaker 2: More Cubby and Christine. And the great music variety you expect.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Next on Light FM.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Happy Hump Day, Wednesday, October 21st. Back to the Future Day.
- 22:55Speaker 1: It's 106.7 Light FM. Cubby and Christine in the morning.
- 22:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it was the 1989 movie. It was Back to
- 23:00Speaker 4: the Future Part 2. Okay. That they traveled to October 21st.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Right, which is now our long past.
- 23:09Speaker 4: Just 11 years ago. Can you believe that?
- 23:10Speaker 3: It's so strange.
- 23:11Speaker 1: It's also International Day of the Nacho.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I don't know why today is not a national holiday.
- 23:16Speaker 3: We should worship the nacho.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Worship the nacho. Have some nachos today.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Perhaps have some nachos on a date.
- 23:23Speaker 3: That would be sweet.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Segway here.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Share some nachos. Yes, if you're coming up on a
- 23:28Speaker 3: date very soon. Singles in America did a survey yesterday.
- 23:32Speaker 3: They said, what's the biggest turnoff on a first date
- 23:34Speaker 3: that means you're not getting a second date? And there
- 23:37Speaker 3: were three simple things. This is from both men and women.
- 23:41Speaker 3: If you check your phone way too much.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Boom, you're not getting a second date.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Big turnoff. You're not going to get a second date.
- 23:47Speaker 3: If you don't talk enough, you kind of just sit
- 23:51Speaker 3: there quietly. We'll never be accused of that. And finally,
- 23:56Speaker 3: if you try too hard to impress them.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Kind of walking on eggshells here.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:01Speaker 4: You have to talk just enough.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Yes, delicate balance.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Not too little, not too much.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Don't try too hard to impress.
- 24:08Speaker 4: And don't check your cell phone. That's the biggest problem. Well, yeah.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I understand if you need to for a moment, but
- 24:13Speaker 3: if you're in your phone the whole time. I mean,
- 24:15Speaker 3: I think if you don't want a second date, like, gee,
- 24:17Speaker 3: I'm not feeling it with this person, do these things.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Right. Flip it. Flip it.
- 24:21Speaker 3: They won't ask you out again.
- 24:22Speaker 4: You're not digging the person? Right. Just stay on your
- 24:24Speaker 4: phone the whole time at the restaurant.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. That's interesting.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I'll start swiping, make him really paranoid.
- 24:29Speaker 4: Could you imagine that? You're on a date and you're
- 24:31Speaker 4: on a dating app?
- 24:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 4: While you're on the phone?
- 24:33Speaker 3: We've heard such stories, yes.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Yeah, we have.
- 24:36Speaker 1: All right, we have something to give away. We're looking
- 24:38Speaker 1: for caller number 10. What do we have, Christine?
- 24:40Speaker 3: Tickets to see Journey Sunday, October 25th at the Prudential Center.
- 24:44Speaker 3: And by the way, that's this Sunday. Tickets available now
- 24:47Speaker 3: at Ticketmaster.com or give us a call.
- 24:49Speaker 4: 1-800-222-1067. Kelly Clarkson kicks off three hours commercial free next.
