Speaker 2: Pars and Pubs is.
• 0:46

• 0:51
Speaker 2: they have put together and different participating bars downtown. You

• 1:02
Speaker 1: Flight So when I do this on Saturday, August twenty ninth,
• 1:05
Speaker 1: do I bring my own ball and my own club
• 1:07
Speaker 1: or I just show up?
• 1:08

• 1:11
Speaker 2: a couple bucks if you do that in advance. You
• 1:13
Speaker 2: can have teams before, but you'll be assigned a bar
• 1:16
Speaker 2: to start at, and then you and your team will
• 1:19
Speaker 2: make your way through the course and find your way
• 1:22
Speaker 2: back to Wiley's at the end for awards.
• 1:24
Speaker 3: But it's an easy way.
• 1:25
Speaker 2: You can always just show up as well the morning
• 1:27
  Speaker 2: of and participate.
• 1:29
Speaker 3: As well if you wish.
• 1:31
Speaker 2: But like I mentioned, online registration will get you a
• 1:34
Speaker 2: guaranteed spot at a bar that morning, and of course
• 1:37
Speaker 2: save you a couple bucks too.
• 1:39
Speaker 1: That is awesome Again, Bars and Pubs, Saturday, August twenty ninth.
• 1:42
Speaker 1: It sounds like it's a long ways away right now,
• 1:44
Speaker 1: and it is, but it's going to get here before
• 1:46
Speaker 1: you know it. So throw that on your calendar right now.
• 1:49
Speaker 1: Make sure you plan to be there. And again, if
• 1:51
Speaker 1: I want to register, I should do that in advance.
• 1:53
Speaker 1: Where do I go to register?
• 1:54
Speaker 3: Erin? Absolutely all the information is on our website.
• 1:57
Speaker 2: It's probably be the easiest way to find all the
• 2:00
Speaker 2: cars that are participating.
• 2:01
Speaker 3: As well as a Facebook event.
• 2:02
Speaker 2: But website and our Facebook page we both have those
• 2:05
Speaker 2: events along with that registration link.
• 2:07
Speaker 1: I love that. Again, Midwest Honorflight dot org is a
• 2:10
Speaker 1: great place to go, and again you should follow them
• 2:12
Speaker 1: on social media as well, so you're always staying up
• 2:14
Speaker 1: to date with what they have going on. You guys
• 2:16
Speaker 1: do some fun fundraisers, which I love that, And the
• 2:19
Speaker 1: reason we're raising these funds is for a very good cause.
• 2:22
Speaker 1: Let's explain Midwest Honor Flight for folks that maybe are
• 2:24
Speaker 1: not one hundred percent familiar with what you guys do.
• 2:26
Speaker 2: Absolutely, the Midwest Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization and
• 2:30
Speaker 2: our mission is to bring our veterans from World War
• 2:33
Speaker 2: Two all the way through Vietnam, all the way out
• 2:35
Speaker 2: to Washington, DC to go see the memorials there that
• 2:37
Speaker 2: have been dedicated to their service and sacrifice as well
• 2:40
Speaker 2: as their fellow comrades. And it's a day of honor,
• 2:43
Speaker 2: respect and some closure. And when we bring them home,
• 2:46
Speaker 2: there's a big welcome home celebration as well at the airport.
• 2:49
Speaker 2: It's the least we can do for these veterans that
• 2:51
Speaker 2: we're willing to give so much for our country and
• 2:54
Speaker 2: we just of course need the funds to do it
• 2:56
Speaker 2: and events like this, and we're trying to always make
• 3:00
Speaker 2: unique events for folks to come out to. Events like
• 3:03
Speaker 2: this are exactly a great way to support our mission
• 3:06
Speaker 2: to support our veterans and bring them to Washington, d C.
• 3:10
Speaker 3: At no cost to them.
• 3:11
Speaker 1: I love that, and it is a wonderful thing. The
• 3:13
Speaker 1: welcome home ceremony is amazing. But also when you land
• 3:18
Speaker 1: in Washington, d C. And these heroes are getting off
• 3:21
Speaker 1: the airplane, they're never walking into an empty airport, They're
• 3:24
Speaker 1: walking into people who are cheering and rooting for them,
• 3:28
Speaker 1: and I just think that's really cool. The Midwest Donner
• 3:30
Speaker 1: Flight Organization has done such a great job, So Aaron,
• 3:33
Speaker 1: thank you for all that you do as the CEO
• 3:35
Speaker 1: of Midwest Donner Flight. I know it's not easy to
• 3:38
Speaker 1: do what you do, and you've kind of bit off
• 3:41
Speaker 1: a pretty big thing here, and you've done a great
• 3:43
Speaker 1: job of making it look easy. But I know it's
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: not easy.
• 3:46
  Speaker 3: Is it.
• 3:47
Speaker 2: It's you know, it's been a fun challenge over the years,
• 3:50
Speaker 2: and certainly something that we didn't think, you know, almost
• 3:53
Speaker 2: ten years later, that we would continue to be doing
• 3:56
Speaker 2: but there's a need for it, and the veterans absolutely
• 4:00
Speaker 2: deserve this honor. And while it's a one day trip,
• 4:04
Speaker 2: it's one that ranks up there with the birth of
• 4:06
Speaker 2: their children in the day they got married, and so
• 4:08
Speaker 2: that speaks volumes to what this day truly means to
• 4:11
Speaker 2: these veterans that get the chance to go.
• 4:13
Speaker 1: Very nice. If somebody listening is saying, hey, I'd like
• 4:15
Speaker 1: to contribute, I'd like to be a part of it.
• 4:17
Speaker 1: Maybe I can't be a part of pars and pubs.
• 4:18
Speaker 1: But if they want to make a donation, is it
• 4:20
Speaker 1: best to just go right to the website.
• 4:22
Speaker 2: They go to our website. There's an online giving option
• 4:25
Speaker 2: as well as information how to mail a check to
• 4:27
Speaker 2: us as well. But yeah, every dollar helps, and so
• 4:31
Speaker 2: whether it's coming to events and having a little fun
• 4:34
Speaker 2: with them or sending five dollars, everything helps to make
• 4:38
Speaker 2: these flights possible for our veterans and we honestly could
• 4:42
Speaker 2: not do it without the community support. And for the
• 4:44
Speaker 2: last nine years we've been able to get over twenty
• 4:47
Speaker 2: six hundred veterans out to Washington, d C. All because
• 4:50
Speaker 2: of the communities that we live in. So we are
• 4:52
Speaker 2: so grateful and thankful for so many different opportunities for
• 4:54
Speaker 2: folks to contribute and look forward to this event and
• 4:57
Speaker 2: many more to come.
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: Very nice.
• 4:59
  Speaker 3: So yet.
• 4:59
Speaker 1: Aaron is the CEO of Midwest Honor Flight. If you
• 5:02
Speaker 1: would like to join them on Saturday, August twenty ninth,
• 5:04
Speaker 1: that's Pars and Pubs and that is a really fun
• 5:07
Speaker 1: way to do something fun with friends and contribute to
• 5:11
Speaker 1: a great cause. You can get all of the details
• 5:13
Speaker 1: about that event and many other fun things they have
• 5:15
Speaker 1: coming up on their website. Again, it's Midwest Honorflight dot org.
• 5:19
  Speaker 3: Solution now
