- 5:50has brought in from the portal, and he will add
- 5:53some much -needed depth to the frontcourt as
- 5:55the Eagles rebuild their roster. In top news,
- 6:01air travel is going to be more expensive this
- 6:04summer. Jet fuel costs have soared more than
- 6:08100 % since the start of the Iran war, and a
- 6:12global shortage has prompted airlines to cut
- 6:14thousands of flights. The United States Travel
- 6:17Association said airline fares rose 14 .9 % in
- 6:22March compared to the same month last year. The
- 6:26near standstill at the Strait of Hormuz has removed

- 6:44news. Analysts expect job gains to come from

- 7:02new jobs in April, down from 178 ,000 in March.
- 7:07The unemployment rate is expected to remain at
- 7:104 .3%. Overall, analysts say little change is
- 7:14expected to despite rising energy prices due
- 7:17to the Iran war. The growing adoption of artificial
- 7:21intelligence is not anticipated to hinder job

- 8:26morning sent you by. And now, back to the show.
- 8:32Let's talk science. Scientists are finally decoding
- 8:36how acupuncture eases pain. Your body has a built
- 8:40-in painkiller system, and acupuncture may switch
- 8:42it on. A needle prick does not seem like it should
- 8:46quiet severe pain, but in some cases it does,
- 8:49easing migraines and dulling pain, even helping
- 8:53patients endure childbirth. In one randomized
- 8:56trial in emergency settings, acupuncture relieved
- 8:59acute pain more quickly and effectively than
- 9:02intravenous morphine with fewer side effects.
- 9:06Advances in imaging and clinical research are
- 9:09shifting the view of acupuncture as a placebo.
- 9:12What is emerging is a clearer picture of a measurable,
- 9:16body -wide response. And in entertainment news,
- 9:22it sounds like Disney is rebooting Planet of
- 9:26the Apes again. Marvel director Matt Shachman
- 9:29is set to helm a new installment that may wipe
- 9:32the franchise's slate clean. Shackman, who directed
- 9:37last year's The Fantastic Four First Steps, is
- 9:41reportedly tapped for the next installment in
- 9:43the Planet of the Apes franchise. The film may
- 9:47stand alone and could reboot the existing series,
- 9:50including the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet
- 9:52of the Apes in 2024. Shackman will collaborate
- 9:57again with screenwriter Josh Friedman, whose
- 10:00work includes both Marvel's Fantastic Four and
- 10:03Kingdom. Story details are currently unknown,
- 10:07though the movie will reportedly return to the
- 10:10planet where apes are the superior species. Well,
- 10:15alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the
- 10:17day. And today, our quote comes from the American
- 10:21journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson. And
- 10:26he said, Buy the ticket, take the ride. Capturing
- 10:30the essence of embracing life's unpredictable
- 10:32journey. much like the enduring appeal of Coca
- 10:35-Cola's debut and the excitement of life's transitions
- 10:38celebrated in Dr. Suess's work. And that's a
- 10:43wrap for this morning. You can check out our
