- 2:17about total good today we're gonna be talking about the third book in the Bear
- 2:28Odder and the Kids series. We're gonna be talking about the art of breathing.
- 2:34Uh so, breathing, ladies and gentlemen, he said, freeing.
- 2:39That's not when I heard the first time he said that. Yeah, I
- 2:44said that. And this foll over here is like the art of breathing.
- 2:49And I'm like, Devin, shame, shame on you, sir. This
- 2:57is a wholesome book. Okay, you get to wear mind uh excuse you.
- 3:05It is wholesome as fuck, all right, it really is. It's
- 3:10just it, all right, I've been hyping this book up or like the
- 3:15past two episodes, these books up the past two episodes. All right,
- 3:20elements of the Found family. It's gay, all right. You know,
- 3:25there's like healthy, loving relationships. They're raising, you know, older brother
- 3:31raising his younger brother, fighting for his younger brother, fighting for the man
- 3:35he loves. All right, don't you dare come, don't you dare come
- 3:39for these guys talking about questioning that it's not wholesome. The fuck I hate
- 3:49you. It sounds like you say, you saying breath breathing, not breathing.
- 3:54I'm saying breathing the art of breathing. I understand that. Now I'm
- 4:08the slut, got it? Yeah you are. He's like a couple of
- 4:15dicks of your day and all of a sudden there a slid. Yeah,
- 4:21well you you accepted food for it, so that does make you know what,
- 4:26It's not my fault. I accepted food in a movie, okay,
- 4:29on several occasions, all right, like you gotta feed me first down.
- 4:35And the movie was good. It was gambled those horrors once upon time in
- 4:39Hollywood, and a drive in a drive in theater, you're concentrated more on
- 4:44something else in the driving theater. So you did it at a drive in
- 4:48Okay? I did. I did. So that's something you have over me.
- 4:54Public sex right there, It wasn't. I mean, there was stuff
- 4:59being calling me a slut. It was hot. It was like one hundred
- 5:06degrees outside. Oh yeah, yeah or whatever. We didn't we had to
- 5:11take off. We took off our bad. This is not my current lovely
- 5:15boyfriend who is amazing. This is one of these dur in the hook of
- 5:20days kind of you know, like a driving theory. Though, I do
- 5:25it again. That ship was fun. I'll do it again. I'll do
- 5:28it again. I'll do it. I'll give enough about how much of the
- 5:35hell I was. Wait, yeah, let's move We're moving on, all
- 5:40right. Let's get back to the wholesome ship, all right. And yes,
- 5:45this ship is wholesome as fuck, Yeah it is. It is,
- 5:48all right. So the art of Breathing is gonna be taking a bit of
- 5:54a different direction than the other two books that we reviewed so far. It
- 5:58will not be from the perspective of Bear. It will actually be from the
- 6:03perspective of the kid. So that's what I love about these books. Like,
- 6:10the characters are constantly changing, all right. It's not like some other
- 6:14books where like it takes place over like five books takes place over a short
- 6:17period of time, and we don't really see much development or growth on the
- 6:21characters or much change in our characters, in our main characters. This book
- 6:28series takes place over the course of several actually several decades, because like it
- 6:32starts off from when Bear was seventeen and it ends when he's like fifty.
- 6:40But in this book, it takes place over the course of about I say,
- 6:46about three four years around there. So when it starts off, this
- 6:51actually takes it starts about five years after the events of book two. Tyson
- 6:59or the Kid, he is a very He is an exceptionally gifted young man,
- 7:04so much so that he skipped several grades and actually graduates high school at
- 7:09the age of fifteen, which amazing good for him. The art of breeding
- 7:16really talks addresses the emotional trauma that the Kid had he had to deal with
- 7:25over the path over his life, mainly due to the abandonment and trust issues
- 7:30he developed from when his mother left when he was just six, like five
- 7:34or six years old, and he has to deal with his panic disorder.
- 7:46So in the wake of book two, he begins regularly seeing a therapist and
- 7:51he becomes officially diagnosed with a panic disorder. He initially refuses to take any
- 7:58kind of medication, wanting to rather just manage and regulate it on his own.
- 8:03He still uses the bathtub as a way for him to cope with his
- 8:09panic attacks because, as I've explained before in previous two episodes, his panic
- 8:16attacks to him feels like earthquakes, and that's how he refers to them often.
- 8:22And when he was just a kid, he developed he developed the habit
- 8:30of lying in a bathtub whenever he has a very powerful, very bad panic
- 8:33attack, because he read that whenever there's an earthquake, you get into a
- 8:43bathtub. It's like his little safe space. And we really see that there's
- 8:48a lot of so before like beforehand, his older brother Bear saw the bathtub
- 8:56as like, Okay, yeah, this is where you need to go if
- 8:58you're feeling like, you know, like yet, just getting the bathtub right
- 9:03for having your you're having your earthquake, getting the bathtub, you'll feel better.
- 9:07But now we're seeing that Bear having come a long way, he now
- 9:11sees the bathtub as a hindrance to kids, to the kid's mental growth,
- 9:16because it just seems like a step, like a step back now, like
- 9:22it's it's served a purpose once upon a time, but now that they're all
- 9:26like they've all started this journey of healing, of moving past that trauma and
- 9:35the abandonment and trying to make and trying to live their lives there and by
- 9:41extend, also the kid are starting to see the bathtub as a hindrance rather
- 9:46than you know, a place for him to chill out and for him to
- 9:52manage his panic attacks. So it's also we also see in the story like,
- 10:01it's definitely more of a coming This is a coming of age type of
- 10:03story. To kid on his actual graduate On the day of his graduation,
- 10:09he's he's the valed victorian. So he does make his speech, and at
- 10:13the end of his speech, he comes out to his entire school as gay,
- 10:18which for him, you know, unlike his unlike his older brother who
- 10:22was very dramatic about coming out all right and everyone like though like personally though
- 10:31Bear does. The thing about Bear is that he is he's also spazy.
- 10:37So when you drop things on him, like, you know, like his
- 10:41younger brother coming out as gay, he does freak out a bit because he's
- 10:46just more worried for the kid's well being than anything else. But he of
- 10:54course accepts it because he himself cannot really say, like, no, I
- 10:56can't have a gay younger brother because well, you know, he's gay too,
- 11:03and he's happy for a kid, and he of course is happy for
- 11:07the kid. And the thing is the kid also has to deal with his
- 11:11own feeling with feelings he has for a certain somebody because that he doesn't fully
- 11:16understand either. So in book two we were introduced to a to another character
- 11:24who becomes the kid's best friend. His name is Dominic. Now, Dominic
- 11:30is about five years older than the kid, like five six years older than
- 11:35the kid when he first so. Dominic when he was first introduced, was
- 11:39was this typical, quiet, big kid. He has his own bit of
- 11:45he has a bit of a dark past as well a lot of traum He
- 11:50himself experienced very extreme traumatic experience on a traumatic event that resulted in him permanently
- 12:01lose damaging his voice, so he can't really speak. He can't really speak
- 12:05above like a croaky whisper or a rasp. Really and the kid, who
- 12:16was only ten at the time, did what most introverts did. Introverts,
- 12:20I'm sorry, did what most extroverts did and adopted an introvert m and named
- 12:26and named him his best friend. So their friendship really went strong, has
- 12:31been going strong for all these years. Kid Dominic, being much older than
- 12:39the kid, decided to pursue a career as a police officer. The kid
- 12:43wasn't happy about that at first, mainly because he was more concerned for his
- 12:46best friend's safety and well being than anything else, but he comes to accept
- 12:54it, and over the years, kid begins to realize that he has much
- 12:58deeper feeling for Dom, and thing is, can't he thing is, he
- 13:05was originally gonna admit his feelings to Dom, and of course nothing really can
- 13:13come of it because he's still a minor, and he is still a minor,
- 13:16so nothing really comes out of it. He doesn't get a chance to
- 13:20admit how he feels to Dom because on his graduation, after his graduation ceremony,
- 13:26he has a bit of a he has a graduate his family throws him
- 13:28a graduation party as well as a going away party because he's been accepted into
- 13:33an Ivy League school in New Hampshire, so all the way across the country
- 13:39from Seafair, Oregon. And so it was in the middle of this party
- 13:48that he decided he wanted to at least try to admit his deeper feelings for
- 13:52Dom. But he doesn't get the chance because he knows his Dom is actually
- 13:56hanging around this girl, had actually brought a girl to the party, and
- 14:03this kind of freaks him out because it makes him, uh, it makes
- 14:07him realize that Dom will probably most likely won't see him in that light,
- 14:13in that romantic light, and he instead decides to just of course keep uh,
- 14:22of course, keep his friendship with Dom strong and they part ways.
- 14:30Bear and Otter agree to decide to move across the country with UH with the
- 14:35kid because since he's still a minor, they can't let him go off to
- 14:39college on his own. So they end up renting a place in New Hampshire
- 14:45and they go and all three of them move all the way across the country
- 14:50for the kid to start his next chapter his life at an Ivy League school.
- 14:56The thing is, the kid ends up cutting tie with Dom not long
- 15:01after this, because Dom's relationship with this with his girlfriend actually was a lot
- 15:07turned out to be a lot more serious and they end up getting married.
- 15:13And the thing is, Don wanted to break the news to the kid in
- 15:16a much more civil and gent in a much different way, a much more
- 15:22different way than than the news was broken to the kid. So Don wanted
- 15:26to. Don wanted to tell the kid in person, say hey, listen,
- 15:30I'm getting married to my girlfriend and things like that. Let me see.
- 15:43I'm sorry, I need to find her. What is her name?
- 15:48I think her name was Sarah, Sorry me, Tyson learns to breathe.
- 16:03Nope, alright, sorry, I should have looked at her name before I
- 16:14started this. I gotta write them all themes down. I am terrible with
- 16:18names. People don't judge me not judging. You're totally judging me. Fill
- 16:29your judgment from here. Yeah, that's uh. Testamer's bree makes phone calls,
- 16:36but out here it is mmm, just uh Stacy. That's so the
- 17:03kid ends up like I was saying, the kid ends up breaking and ends
- 17:07up breaking. Tithes with Dominic because when Dominic and his girlfriend Stacy decided to
- 17:15get married, Stacy's parents kind of jump the gun and send out a why
- 17:19sends out a bunch of invitations for the wedding well before Stacy and Dominic were
- 17:26ready to send them out, because Dominic wanted to approach the kid about his
- 17:32engagement in a much more in a much gentler way and break it. And
- 17:37like he wanted to break the news to the kid in a much different way
- 17:41because he knows that the kid does not respond well to change, and he
- 17:45knows how protective the kid is of him, so like dropping the news that
- 17:49he's getting married, like just dropping it on his lap, like that would
- 17:53be a very bad thing because it could like freak him out. And well,
- 17:59Stacy's parents end up sending in a bunch of invitations, and one gets
- 18:03the kid before Dominic can tell the kid about his engagement, and when the
- 18:07kid sees it, he has a full blown panic attack, and in the
- 18:11wake of this, he ends up cutting ties with Dom because for the thing
- 18:15is is that, like I said, the kid has the kid is in
- 18:21love with his best friend, and while he accepts dom Dom's relationships, he
- 18:26still feels like a string of jealousy. He does feel some form of jealousy
- 18:30and protect and protectiveness over his best friend. So and and Dom understands this
- 18:37too. He understands that the kid needs that certain things the kid needs to
- 18:41be approached. You need to approach the kid a certain way because if things
- 18:47like this just are dropped in front of him, it is very triggering for
- 18:51him because you know, the kid, like I said, I've mentioned before,
- 18:52the kid also has uh trust issues as well, So anything like this
- 19:00can be interpreted as a form of betrayal as well as abandonment. So that
- 19:10was very true. So getting this invitation just out of the blue triggers the
- 19:14kid very badly, and he overreacts. He ends up cutting off Dominic,
- 19:18and Dominic does try to apologize and try to talk to the kid, but
- 19:23bar steps in and tells him, you need to give the kids some space
- 19:29because this is not easy for him. But the kid ends up not speaking
- 19:34to Dominic for the next three years. Damn, yeah, talk about it's
- 19:41definitely a bit. It's definitely a huge overreaction on the kid's part. But
- 19:45you have to understand that the kid, even though, like in the past
- 19:51two books, he does come across as a very well adjusted young man and
- 19:56he's very bright and intelligent, he's still he's still just a kid. When
- 20:00he's like just a little little kid when his mom abandoned him, all right,
- 20:04So he has to deal with abandonment issues, trust issues, panic disorder,
- 20:11all right, all these things that un ironically boy geniuses have to deal
- 20:17with, all right. And the thing is is that this actually does send
- 20:26this this whole string of events actually send the kid spiraling down this dark rabbit
- 20:33hole because after he cuts off Dominic, cutting off Dominic is actually very traumatic
- 20:41for him, and he begins developing some very toxic coping mechanisms as well as
- 20:52other bad habits. For the for the most part, he actually develops a
- 20:56drug addiction. Oh no, yes, So while he was in While he
- 21:03was in school, he started seeing a new therapist, and of course this
- 21:08new therapist collaborates with his old therapists, and they decide that it's best,
- 21:15it's probably best for the kid to start taking medicine. So it's just it's
- 21:22nothing like these medicines are not supposed to are not really supposed to be addictive,
- 21:26but they're those kind of medicines like not oxy but they're those very strong
- 21:33antidepressants and anti anxiety. And at first these these pills don't really do much
- 21:42for the kid, but eventually he thought they prescribe him some much stronger stuff
- 21:47that he describes turned him into something like a zombie, like he feels like
- 21:51he's in a fog or in a haze most of the time, and after
- 21:56a while. Seeing thing is that when it comes to drug addiction, a
- 22:02lot of the times people are the friends and family of the person struggling with
- 22:08the addiction don't really notice, don't really see it at first, especially if
- 22:11that person is very careful. And but the thing is is that bear he
- 22:22finds out about the kid's substance abuse from a friend of the kids, so
- 22:29the kid starts actually starts dating a by gender, a by gender person who
- 22:37goes to the same school, and this person actually catches the kid, actually
- 22:45catches the kid buying some pills off of a known drug dealer at the school
- 22:53who and hold on, let me see their by gender. Let me see
- 23:04here, what's his name? Let me see here, let me get the
- 23:26bite that's that's their name. And it's funny too, because you know,
- 23:30some by gender people have different names for their different set for their for their
- 23:37different sects. So they could be they could be like you know, they
- 23:42could have a masculine name for the when they're a man and the feminine name
- 23:45for when they're a woman, or at least some people. I'm not sure
- 23:48that I'm not saying that's for everybody. But in Corey's case, like when
- 23:53you're reading this book and it and it talks about Corey, and depending on
- 23:59what gender they're identifying as at the moment, the spelling of their of their
- 24:03name is will be different. So like for the mask, yeah, so
- 24:07for like the mass for when he's a when he's identifying as a as a
- 24:11man, Corey's name will be spelled like c O R e Y. But
- 24:15then when she's but when they are identifying as a woman, their name,
- 24:19the spelling of their name changes to k O r y or k r k
- 24:25o r I, so the kind of like different it helps to differentiate their
- 24:32masculine and feminine side. Like it's sometimes like when you when reading this book,
- 24:37it's funny whenever Corey's names pops pops up if it's spelled like the masculine
- 24:42way, you're just like, Okay, they're identifying. Okay, so they're
- 24:45a man right now. Okay, they're a woman right now. Anyway,
- 24:48back to the top. Back on topic. Cory catches the kid buying pills
- 24:53from uh buying pills off of somebody, And at this point this was early
- 25:00on in their relationship, so they hadn't really met the kid's family yet,
- 25:06but Corey knew that he lived with his older brother, that the kid lived
- 25:11with his older brother and his partner, so he approaches Bear. So Corey
- 25:15approaches Bear and tells Bear that the kid that he that he caught, that
- 25:21he saw the kid buying pills off of somebody, and Bear was an utter
- 25:26disbelief at first, but afterwards, after Corey leaves, he immediately goes into
- 25:32the kid's room and just completely tears the room apart, and he finds hundreds
- 25:37of empty pill bottles we're talking like, and they were hidden, like very
- 25:41well hidden, like under the bed, in like panels, in the wall,
- 25:45under the floorboards. He found them everywhere. Yeah, so the kid's
- 25:51substance abuse had gone very deep. And he immediately consults his the kid's therapists,
- 26:00and they were shocked because even though the kid was regularly seeing a therapist,
- 26:04the therapists had not caught on of his substance abuse. Because that's the
- 26:08thing about like some certain controlled substances don't really have much of an effect on
- 26:14you aside from just giving you, like a nice little pleasant relief from like
- 26:19in the kid's case, it helped keep him from having his massive panic attacks.
- 26:26So for him, that's really all he was doing it for, as
- 26:29well as like to help him cope with the fact that he doesn't have that
- 26:33he cut off Dong from his relationship because that's where this all stems from,
- 26:40all right, that's really what drove him into his substance abuse was from was
- 26:44by cutting off Dominic. And the thing is is that you know, Bear
- 26:52also realized that he started They starts realizing that there had been signs because the
- 26:56kid, for one thing, the kid had not declared major in the three
- 27:00in the almost three years that they'd been in New Hampshire, and the school
- 27:06was beginning to get antsy and try and we're beginning to tell him like,
- 27:10all right, well listen, your full ride is almost up. You need
- 27:12to declare a major one way one of these days. And uh, while
- 27:18the kids academia was not suffering so much, it wasn't exactly what the school
- 27:22was expecting him from expecting from him. So after telling Otter about what they
- 27:30discovered, the two of them immediately crack down on the kid. They confront
- 27:33him on his substance abuse. And think about people who struggle with addiction.
- 27:38Uh, they' you're gonna it's a sad reality of it, but you're gonna
- 27:41deal with lying. You're gonna deal with like it's gonna it's gonna come out
- 27:48in a negative way one way or another. Right, They're gonna be hostile,
- 27:52they're gonna try to lie, they're gonna try to bargain, they're gonna
- 27:53try to do everything they can to justify their addiction or at least try to
- 27:57hide or downplay it. That, which is what the kid did, which
- 28:02was really sad. They ended up confiscating all of his all of his pills.
- 28:07They basically cracked. They cracked down on him. They wouldn't let him
- 28:12out of out of their site. They made sure that they made sure he
- 28:17completely detoxed from the from the pills. His panic attacks got came back in
- 28:22full force and it was very tough for him at first, but eventually they
- 28:29got him through it. It was a very tough time for them. But
- 28:33after the third year of his school came to an end, uh, the
- 28:38school told told the kid that they really need he really needs to consider his
- 28:45future with the school because if they if he doesn't get his ship together,
- 28:51if he doesn't finally, if he doesn't finally declare his major, then he
- 28:56may not be allowed to come back the following semester. So this is going
- 29:00to be the summer semester. So this is going to be This story mainly
- 29:04takes place over the summer of his after his third year at school and after
- 29:12he gets this ultimatum, kid decides that it's finally time for him to return
- 29:17to Seafair, come back to his home state because he hadn't been back in
- 29:22the three years that he had been gone, and it decides that whether he
- 29:29needs his head, needs to really work on himself and figure out what he
- 29:34wants from life. So the three of them make the trip the trip back
- 29:40to Seafair. Corey at this point is no longer the kids partner. They
- 29:48had dated for a short period of time before they ended their relationship, but
- 29:52they decided to remain friends good friends. They come back to Seafair with to
- 29:59open our from the rest of their family. Creed and Anna are married.
- 30:03They have, of course, their their son JJ and I believe no so
- 30:12Anna is actually pregnant with their second kid, or at least she's gonna be
- 30:19early. She gonna she's gonna announce her pregnancy with their second kid. UH.
- 30:25Sometime in this book, the kid is reluctant to UH is reluctant to
- 30:33meet with Dominic, even though Bear and Otter kept kept in good contact with
- 30:38Dominic as well as the rest of the family. But the way that kid
- 30:45ends up reuniting with Dominic was actually pretty dramatic too, because the kid is
- 30:49very vocal about animal rights and you know, UH, he's very he's His
- 30:57brother often refers to him as the eco training as an eco terrorist, in
- 31:02training and going to college has actually made him made his beliefs a lot stronger.
- 31:11And he often organizes his protests against like, uh, like meat refineries,
- 31:18restaurants that are very like steak and like animal like food, non vegan
- 31:25or non vegetarian. So he's he's that kind of kid that goes to a
- 31:29lot of those animal rights protests and eco the ecosystem, those eco protests things
- 31:40like that, and he ends up organizing one in Seafair for the opening of
- 31:45a I think it's a bjs MHM, one of those steakhouses. The thing
- 31:52is, though, like, since Seafair has a very small community, doesn't
- 31:55have a large like animal rights community, so when he organizes a protests,
- 32:00the only people that he can convince to go or a bunch of beach hippies.
- 32:06And of course when hippies get involved, we're talking a bunch of stoners,
- 32:12all right. And in the middle of the protests, one of the
- 32:15hippies gets a little too carried away and picks up a rock and throws it
- 32:19through the window of the restaurant, which completely cuts the protest short because immediately
- 32:28after the throck is thrown into the restaurant. A police officer steps out of
- 32:32the restaurant and guess who it is, Dominic. Yep. Uh so,
- 32:44this is the first time he's seen Dominic in three years, and the first
- 32:49and their first meeting is Dominic putting him in in handcuffs because and not in
- 32:55the fun way. Yeah, get your head out of the guttery moron,
- 33:00but China. Anyways, sir, you're a whites You're not white man.
- 33:14I'm mixed. I'm mixed, but I was raised I am mixed of Latin
- 33:17and okay, wait, thank you very much, thank you very much.
- 33:22So I can say, it's so weird to hear you say that. We'll
- 33:32get used to it, I say, I say Spanish, I throw out
- 33:36Spanish terms all that. Not not really, not really. I'm not making
- 33:43fun of you because you because you obviously you can't, but like you never
- 33:47do, so when you do, it's so weird. Huh. I guess
- 33:52I never do it around you, but I do, not really around not
- 33:55around you, but I do. But anyway, back on it. Uh
- 34:00So, after those hippies through the rock into the restaurant, they immediately run
- 34:06for it, because that's because cop shows because Dominic comes out and Uh.
- 34:10The thing is, Uh, the kid and Corey uh did not run,
- 34:17so they both end up in getting They end up getting put in handcuffs by
- 34:22Dom. Dom doesn't press any the restaurant doesn't press any charges against the kid.
- 34:30Uh, but Dom does arrest the kid and take him back and takes
- 34:35him back to the Green Monstrosity aka his uh his house, and it's there
- 34:44that uh the kid gets ah, he does get chewed out by Bear,
- 34:50gets royally chewed out by Bear. But before he does, uh, Dom
- 34:57takes the kid aside because kid has refus used to say anything to Dom at
- 35:01first, and Dom wants like clears the air with him for over a few
- 35:06things, tells him like you can't just throw it, like, calls him
- 35:10out for trying to throw away their friendship, like come on, you can't
- 35:13just throw away. You can't just throw away our friendship like that. Yeah,
- 35:19And the thing is is that kid finds out that Dom's relationship with his
- 35:27with his former wife Stacy didn't actually last very long. In fact, the
- 35:31reason why the two of them got married in the first place was because Stacy
- 35:36had gotten pregnant. Who Yeah, and the kid. And the thing is
- 35:43is that because they didn't want to make the kid even more upset, Bear
- 35:50and Otter didn't tell the kid that Dominic had had a kid in the first
- 35:54place. In fact, they had forgotten to tell the kid even though they
- 35:59were coming back and knew that there was a chance that they that the kid
- 36:01was going to run into Dom and as well and Dom's three year old son
- 36:06too. Yeah, they had forgotten to tell him that so much to the
- 36:12fact that when the time came for them to see the time came where the
- 36:17kid gets arrested by Dom and then later sees Dom's kid, that's when they
- 36:22realized, oh shit, we forgot to tell ty about We forgot to tell
- 36:28the kid about Dom's son away. So anyway, after Dom red, after
- 36:37Dom reads reads the kid the you know, like the shitty friend act,
- 36:43he takes him back to the house and it's there that the kid sees Dom's
- 36:51three year old son. Dom's son ben Uh comes out of the house and
- 36:57he's completely he's so he's so very shocked. He doesn't it doesn't send him
- 37:01into a panic, into a panic episode anything he was at. He actually
- 37:06takes the news very well, but he's really pissed at Bear and Otter for
- 37:09not telling him about this he's on, which understandably because the thing is,
- 37:17Bear was just trying to protect kid, because uh, he's trying to be
- 37:22considered about the kid's mental state, mental health, especially because when they when
- 37:29Dominic's son was born, this was around the time that the kid's mental health
- 37:32was really at its worst. So Bear justifies himself by saying, look,
- 37:37we were just looking out for you. We didn't want to overwhelm you with
- 37:42anything. We didn't want to overwhelm you with any of this, especially given
- 37:46how much of a bad state you were in at the time. And this
- 37:51does put a strain on the kid and Bear's relationship for a time. And
- 38:00the thing is a kid has to start learning that has to also come to
- 38:05terms with the fact that since he is now nineteen years old, he's a
- 38:09legal adult. Bear and Otter are going to begin making decisions that don't really
- 38:16take don't really have the kid. They're going to start making decisions for themselves,
- 38:24right for their own lives. So we also begin to see this elements
- 38:30of this in the book as well, because Bear and Otter make the decision
- 38:35to have kids of their own, and they don't tell the kid about this
- 38:42at first. It actually comes out hilariously at a family dinner. Remember when
- 38:47I mentioned that whenever you get a couple, whenever you give Bear a couple
- 38:52of drinks, he tends to he doesn't handle his alcohol very well. Yeah,
- 38:59and if he was, let's say, trying to hide certain important bits
- 39:05of information you get if you get enough drinks, you get a couple of
- 39:09drinks into If you get a couple of drinks in him, uh he'll end
- 39:15up spilling the beam. He'll end up spilling the tea in like a epically
- 39:17hilarious way. He spills the tea. Well, the thing is is that
- 39:27Corey, having heard about uh Bear's epic, you know, epically low tolerance
- 39:37for alcohol, she they end up giving making They end up giving Bear a
- 39:44bunch of like making sure bears wine glass isn't empty throughout that throughout that dinner.
- 39:55So when it comes time for uh Bear to make a toast, Bear
- 40:04is starting to freak out because he has out he has a lot of alcohol
- 40:07in his system now, and he ends up spilling the beans about the fact
- 40:12that he and Otter made the decision that they're gonna have a kid together,
- 40:15that they're that they're gonna get a surrogate to have their kid, and also
- 40:21spills the beans about the fact that Anna is gonna get is also pregnant with
- 40:25her second kid, and a bunch of other things, and Corey is just
- 40:30sitting there like, uh, imagine, Devin, you've been in her position,
- 40:36You've been in their position before. When Tea starts spelling and you're just
- 40:38sitting there all satisfied, like, ooh, yes, Tea, yeah that
- 40:45was that was Corey. And of course this causes more drama for the kid
- 40:52because he's like, wait, what, like, when were you gonna tell
- 40:57me this? Like what the hell? He's upset because he he's still more
- 41:00or less, he's still pretty upset about the fact that Bear kept Dom's kid
- 41:05from him, the existence of Dom's kid from him, and he also and
- 41:10so now there's this, but Bear ends up putting his foot down with the
- 41:15kid, telling him, listen, I'm very smart. I'm sorry that we
- 41:19didn't tell you this right away, but you're not but you're not a kid
- 41:22anymore. We may we still call you the kid, but you're not a
- 41:27kid anymore, all right, Outer and I have especially, I have sacrificed
- 41:34a lot for you to make sure that you're okay and to make sure that
- 41:36you have a house, home and that you're taken care of. But now
- 41:40you're an adult. We've done our job. I've done my job, all
- 41:45right. Now the two of us want to start living for ourselves, and
- 41:49part of that is having kids of our own. Eventually, you're not going
- 41:52to be in our house anymore. You're not going to be living under our
- 41:54roof. Okay, Otter and I have sat a lot for you, all
- 42:02right. Now it's our It's our time to start making decisions for ourselves,
- 42:09for our lives. And this is basically it's it's this is bear reading giving
- 42:16the kid a reality check, because you know, sometimes when it comes to
- 42:21like people who have like you know, strong and some health or like who
- 42:27you know, you know, sometimes when you have a kid, right and
- 42:32they get older, and you know, there comes a point where you have
- 42:37to tell your you have to put your you have to basically tell tell it
- 42:42like it is all right, Like you're not a kid anymore. You're gonna
- 42:50you know, every people around you are going to start are going to start
- 42:53living their lives the way they want to, all right, And it's not
- 42:58always going to be about you, all right. We made we made sure
- 43:02that you are our priority when you were when you were just a kid.
- 43:07Now you're an adult. Time for you to start making your own decisions and
- 43:12start living for your life the way you want to. And it's also time
- 43:15for us to be doing the same thing. And he also and he also
- 43:20tells the kid that it's time for him to get pull his head out of
- 43:22his ass and make and make up with Dom because Dom is still going to
- 43:27be a part of your life whether you like it or not. All right.
- 43:30He's a part of our family, all right, and you can't just
- 43:31cut him off. So, having been thoroughly having been thoroughly read by his
- 43:39older brother, a kid decides that he it's time for him to at least
- 43:44start Uh at least start to reconcile with his best friend. So he decides
- 43:52today pay Dom a visit at his house, dom H. Since Dom and
- 43:58Stacey are no longer together the two of them, Dom lives has his own
- 44:02place not far from the Green Monstrosity, and when he shows up, he
- 44:07finds dom Uh playing with his son Ben and After some awkward small talk,
- 44:15they begin to ah, you know, they have After some awkward small talk,
- 44:21they spend some time. The kid decides to spend some time with Ben
- 44:25to try to get to know him better. And he learns from Dom that
- 44:30Ben actually has a high uh has a form of high functioning autism and uh
- 44:37and he and that he also needs to have a specific routine throughout his day,
- 44:43because that's pretty that's when when it comes to autistic people, they do
- 44:46crave and need uh a regular routine. Yeah, and Dom is a really
- 44:54good dad. I have to say, I have to give him that.
- 44:57He's a really good dad. He has to think of his son. He
- 45:00thinks of his son. He puts his son first over everything. And I'm
- 45:05like, oh, he's that's a good dad right there. He's a good
- 45:07dad. And after and while while during his visit, Stacey does show up
- 45:15and picks up Ben, giving Dom and Uh the kids some alone time.
- 45:21Now, of course the two nothing happens between the two of them. They
- 45:24just talk and make and you know, and kid makes an effort to reconcile
- 45:31with his best friend. It's later on that the kid, Uh, it's
- 45:37later on, Uh, excuse me let me, uh, let me take
- 45:42a step back here. Uh the reason why we're gonna take a step back
- 45:46from those two. So now they're starting, they're slowly starting to uh make
- 45:52up and become friends again. Now at this point in the story, the
- 45:58kid is gonna taking another road trip with Corey. The reason why Corey decided
- 46:04to tag along was because she was actually going to start she was actually going
- 46:07to be moving back to her hometown of Tucson, Arizona, and so she
- 46:15decided to tag along with them to Oregon, and halfway through the summer they
- 46:20were gonna take a week long trip down to actually it's gonna be like a
- 46:23two week long trip down to Tucson where they're going to take Corey to her
- 46:30hometown and she will be staying there the rest of the summer. And that's
- 46:32actually where she's going to finish her degree at one of the local universities because
- 46:38she's going to be going into form of social services. And when they get
- 46:46when they get ready to take the trip down there, they are someone Finagles
- 46:53Bear being a little bear, Corey mainly Bear being worried about the kid going
- 47:02on his own and also Corey knowing that something's going on between between kid and
- 47:07Dominic orchestrates Dominic coming tagging along the trip with them, So it ends up
- 47:15being the three of them driving down the Tucson together, and let me tell
- 47:21you, guys, this is gonna this is where things start getting good.
- 47:23Who So throughout the book, the thing is is that I'm honestly, I
- 47:30gotta say this, they pulled one over me. So it's clear that the
- 47:35kid still has some very deep feelings for his best friend, but it's not
- 47:38really clear if if Dominic feels the same way. Like Dominic does care about
- 47:45the kid as his friend, but it doesn't really like hint at anything between
- 47:50the two of them, right, m Like anytime that the kid sees dom
- 47:55with a like a season another woman flirting with dom or dom getting friendly with
- 48:01anybody, the kid gets really jealous and he's like he gets like, you
- 48:07know, like starts muttering to himself like death violence. Right, It's very
- 48:15It's it's honestly very cute. But so they all take the trip down to
- 48:21Tucson. The kid meets uh Corey, one of Corey's mentors and best friend,
- 48:29who happens to be a drag queen and they end up staying at her
- 48:34house. Now here's the thing. Cory had actually set up set things up
- 48:39with this drag queen to uh get it to where the two of them have
- 48:45to share a room together, and she even convinces her best friend to set
- 48:52up their room to be kind of like a love suite. Mm hmm.
- 48:55So, like they find a lot of like, uh a lot of shit
- 49:00in there, like sex toys and condoms and lube and and and the kid
- 49:07is horrified when he finds all this stuff, and he's like, what the
- 49:10hell do they think? What the hell are they trying to do? What
- 49:15do they think we're gonna do in here? And what is this drag queen
- 49:17into? So they end up spending a week in Tucson, and towards the
- 49:27end of their trip, they go to see one of her best friend's drag
- 49:31shows at one of the gay bar at one of the local gay clubs.
- 49:37And it's there that while they are enjoying themselves, Kid notices dominic Uh chatting
- 49:47with a one of the local gays at the bar, and when he walks
- 49:53like he went to go he had gotten separated from Dom during the he got
- 50:01separated from Dom during the during their night, and when he goes to find
- 50:08Dom again, he notices that Dom is talking to somebody and at first and
- 50:16his first thought, his first thought is that Dom is flirting with the guy,
- 50:20when really Dom is just just chatting, not really doing anything, smiling
- 50:27his business. And the thing is, Dom sees the kid, and I
- 50:31guess the kid had this look of like jealousy on his face, Like he
- 50:37had this look on his face, right, And well, when Dom sees
- 50:40the kid, he immediately goes up to the kid, right, and the
- 50:44kid is trying hard, like he realizes that he must look like a creep
- 50:47just staring at his best friend like that. And he starts feeling the onset
- 50:52of a panic attack coming on. And he starts using his breathing exercise.
- 50:57Starts doing his breathing exercise is to keep himself from getting like full on having
- 51:04a panic attack, right, and he also feels like a deer cotton the
- 51:07headlights because Dom is coming up to him. He's like, all right,
- 51:10He's telling himself, all right, don't freak out, just breathe in,
- 51:14breathe out. Dom is free to talk to whoever he wants. It's none
- 51:20of my business. And while he's having these thoughts, Dom reaches him and
- 51:27Dom kisses the kid. Let me tell you something. When I read this
- 51:31part, I was like, oh my god. Oh oh, like I
- 51:36put the I read these books on Kindle, so I had to put my
- 51:40phone down and I actually got up and I walked away. I was like,
- 51:44oh my god. I wasn't expecting that. Oh shit, I'm not
- 51:46ready. Oh oh who TJ. What are you doing? Oh my god?
- 51:55Like okay, So that answers that question. Dom feels something. Definitely,
- 52:00he feels something for the kid. So the thing is is that,
- 52:02as it turns out, Dom suspected has long suspected that the kid had feelings
- 52:07for him, and at first he didn't really feel the same way, or
- 52:13rather, he felt something for the kid, but he wasn't. He was
- 52:15confused about how he felt for the kid, and he definitely didn't want to
- 52:23do anything to jeopardize their friendship, and since at the time the kid was
- 52:29still a minor, he didn't want he wasn't going to do anything like that,
- 52:31especially because he's gotten multiple threats from Bear that if he does that,
- 52:36if he tries anything with the kid, Bear may or may not castrate him.
- 52:39Oh so he wasn't gonna fuck with that. But the thing is is
- 52:45that Don Guess ends up having his relationship with Stacy. They had their son
- 52:53together, but their marriage doesn't doesn't last more than a year, and they
- 53:00and they do end up splitting up. And the thing is Stacy is not
- 53:04is She's actually a really cool person. She's very understanding, she's very supportive,
- 53:09and she knew, she understood that there that Dom's feeling heart. Dom's
- 53:15heart was belonged to somebody else, and she realized that, yeah, the
- 53:21two of us, it's just not going to work out. I mean,
- 53:22we have Ben together, but you know, we both want different things.
- 53:28So they end up splitting amicably and they start doing the co parents co parenting
- 53:31thing with Ben, and she she already knew, she knew that his heart
- 53:37belonged to the kid, right. So the thing is is that Dom has
- 53:45been wanting to reconcile with the kid for a long time, but he also
- 53:50understood that the kid needed his space, and also since the substance abuse thing
- 53:54happened the two of them, he wanted to he needed to approach the kid
- 53:59a lot more and a lot like go at the kid's pace, but he
- 54:05was actually waiting for the kid to look at him that way because the first
- 54:09because when Dom saw the kid at the club and the kid had that look
- 54:15of like jealousy and hurt and betrayal on his face, he'd actually seen that
- 54:20look before. And the first time he saw that was at the kid's graduation
- 54:23party, high school graduation party, because that was the first time kids saw
- 54:29him and Stacey together and he's and the kid had given him that exact same
- 54:34look, And at first Dom didn't really understand stood what that looked meant,
- 54:39but now that he does understand now later on, after some soul searching and
- 54:45understanding what like the kid's coming to understand how the kid really felt about him,
- 54:49he was waiting for the kid to give him that same look again.
- 54:52And once he saw it again, he went for it because for Dom that
- 54:57was that confirmation that the kid does actually feel have these deeper feelings for him.
- 55:01So when he saw that, he approached the kid planted one on him,
- 55:06like, and let me tell you something, the kid like, who
- 55:08was on the verge of having a full blown, full blown panic attack,
- 55:12his mind just completely went haywire. Panic attack went out the window, all
- 55:16right, and like he suddenly he's just over here like in a daze,
- 55:22like wait, what just happened? Yeah, Like you ever make out with
- 55:27somebody so good that like your brain just stops working. Yeah yeah, the
- 55:31computer reset? Yeah, yeah, hard reset. Well, Dom did a
- 55:36did a hard reset on the kid, and they do later is some spicy
- 55:43scenes, and I want to make I want, I want to put this
- 55:45out there that the kid is not a miner anymore. So those of you
- 55:47are like, oh, he's still so young, like shut the fuck up.
- 55:52Yeah, all right, he's not a minor. And I've already made
- 55:55my stands clear on age gaps, like, as long as you're not a
- 55:59minor, as long as you're two consenting adults, all right, it's none
- 56:04of our business. It's none of my business. I mean, hell,
- 56:06my parents have a six year age gap between them, all right. My
- 56:10mom was thirty when I was when she and my dad got together, and
- 56:14my dad was only twenty four. Yeah, so you know, age gap
- 56:20is a thing, so long as it's not I just want to put that
- 56:22out there. So long as it's done between two legal consenting adults, really
- 56:29doesn't matter, all right. But yeah. So now that the two of
- 56:36them have made it clear that they want to be together, they go back
- 56:43to Seafair and of course they break the news to Bear, who, of
- 56:47course who of course freaks out and he and the kid end up getting into
- 56:53an argument. But the kid, but this time it's the kid's turn to
- 57:00uh give Bear a reality check, like, Hey, I'm not a kid,
- 57:04and I'm not the kid anymore. Okay, I'm an adult. I
- 57:08have my own Ah, I have my own It's time for me to make
- 57:15my own decisions. And several of those decisions he decides to make. First
- 57:21and foremost is he decides that he decided he's going to go back to Uh.
- 57:24He wants to go back to New Hampshire and finish school. He's gonna
- 57:30finish his last He decides to finish his last year. He does declare a
- 57:36major. That he does finally declare as major. He's going to go into
- 57:38social services. Thing is he finishes this. Uh. He wants to finish
- 57:45this his last year at his Ivy League school on his own. So instead
- 57:52of going back to school with Bear and Otter Int, he decides to go
- 57:57back by himself and he gets his own place, he gets a roommate,
- 58:02finishes his last year done and done, and he decides he's going to come
- 58:07back to Seafair and finish out his education at one of the local universities so
- 58:13he can get into social services because he was he himself was inspired to do
- 58:17that because of Dominic. Because Dominic's own checkered past. As I've mentioned before,
- 58:23in the last episode, Dominic experienced a very traumatic event where his dad,
- 58:30who was severely and horribly abusive to him and his mother, finally snapped
- 58:37and beat his mother to death. Dom tried to defend his mom and actually
- 58:42grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed his dad several times, and this traumatized
- 58:49dom so bad that he had a full blown mental He had like a full
- 58:54on mental break, which resulted in his vocal his voice box getting permanently damaged,
- 59:02which is why dom can't really speak very well outside of a raspy croak.
- 59:10And knowing and understanding Dominic's backstory and why Dominic went in too become a
- 59:15police officer and inspired the kid to want to go into social services, and
- 59:20then also he also got inspiration from his own personal history, especially with his
- 59:24mom abandoning him and his brother. Now, the other decision that the kid
- 59:32came to was that he wanted to track down his mom because at this point,
- 59:38so in the at the end of the last at the end of the
- 59:42last book, the kid and Bear's mom actually came shows up again, but
- 59:52this time it was so that way she can give Bear her signed papers,
- 59:57uh, her papers signing over her rights, her parental rights to Bear,
- 1:00:05so Bear can finally get legal custody over Kit over the kid. But Bear
- 1:00:08didn't tell the kid at the time that that their mom had showed up,
- 1:00:12had shown up like that, because it was just something he wanted to just
- 1:00:15leave, all right. He just wanted to let it be. But he
- 1:00:21eventually did tell the kid, and he also tells the kid that their mom
- 1:00:27had another child and they have a little sister. Uh. So the thing
- 1:00:32is part of Tyson realizes that part of him getting over his own mental illnesses
- 1:00:45and working out his own problems is that he needs closure, so he wants
- 1:00:50So what he wants to do is confront his mother, have one final conversation
- 1:00:54with her, and then move on. And Bear at first was reluctant,
- 1:01:00but agrees that if that's what you need, then I will support you.
- 1:01:08So while Bear and so, while the kid and uh Dom we're driving back
- 1:01:16to Seafair, they make a detour to Idaho, where where Tyson's mom is,
- 1:01:23and it's there that he meets his younger sister. And god damn it,
- 1:01:30what was her name? I know her name? Do you? I
- 1:01:37know her name? Okay, all right, let's see the see whoops?
- 1:02:02Isabelle or Izzy for short. So they go to Idaho and in a small
- 1:02:13out of the way town they find he reaches his mom's house and his mom
- 1:02:19wasn't there, but his little sister, Izzy or Isabelle was there. He
- 1:02:24meets her, and the thing is Isabelle. She is incredibly She's incredibly smart.
- 1:02:30So she when she first sees Tyson, she knows that, oh,
- 1:02:35you're my older brother, aren't you. I heard about you. Mom doesn't
- 1:02:38talk about you guys, but I knew. Izzy at this point is about
- 1:02:44ten years old and about nine or ten years old, and she, she
- 1:02:53and Tyson start talking. She invites Tyson into the house and even though he
- 1:02:59had never been in his mother's new home, looking around, he's he realizes
- 1:03:06it's not that it's not all that different from the shitty little apartment him and
- 1:03:09Bear used to live in. Yeah, because you know it's there's clear signs
- 1:03:14of neglect. His mom is still a heavy smoker and an alcoholic h and
- 1:03:21while is he tells him that she Oh. While he doesn't need easy to
- 1:03:25confirm it, he knows that she confirms that that their mom doesn't abuse her,
- 1:03:31like doesn't hit her or yell at her, do anything like that,
- 1:03:35but still neglect is a form of abuse and clearly his little sister had to
- 1:03:40endure that while there. During the visit, his mom does show up and
- 1:03:50she doesn't notice him there at first, but when he makes his presence known,
- 1:03:54she at first thinks that he's some total stranger because she doesn't recognize him.
- 1:03:59She hasn't seen him since like that night that she showed up to uh
- 1:04:03threatened Bear and uh. Now he is a twenty year old adult and she'd
- 1:04:14never seen him. She has not seen him as an adult, so at
- 1:04:16first she threatens to call the police, but he tells her who who he
- 1:04:21is, and she immediately gets like nervous because like, you know, that's
- 1:04:27what happens. You bend your kid and then they come and then they track
- 1:04:30your ass down to confront you on it and and go off on you.
- 1:04:33You know you're gonna be pretty you know it's gonna be one of those like
- 1:04:36uh oh yeah. She knows what she did was wrong, and so he
- 1:04:48talks to her, gets the why'd you do it? You know, gets
- 1:04:56the whys and the who what when wheres out of the way, and he
- 1:05:00realizes that his mom has not changed a single bit, and she does make
- 1:05:05some vague threats that if he doesn't leave then she will call the police.
- 1:05:10So he tells her. He says, Okay, I'm gonna leave. He
- 1:05:15apologizes to Izzy because he would love to have be a part of her life,
- 1:05:19but she's understanding, and he did manage to give her his and Bear's
- 1:05:25contact information, and it's a good thing that she's very smart because she has
- 1:05:31a photo photographic memory. She made the mistake of of outing herself to her
- 1:05:40mom that she has their contact infoe and her mom immediately throws it away,
- 1:05:44but she remembers it and she does get in contact with them later, but
- 1:05:49we'll get to that in a second. This story is pretty much coming to
- 1:05:54an end. He goes back to Seafair with Dominic confronts Bear and tells him
- 1:05:59about him and dominant relationship and also his decision to go back to school alone,
- 1:06:03go back to New Hampshire alone, where he finishes out his remaining school
- 1:06:08year by himself. The book pretty much the books, the story centered on
- 1:06:16the kid comes to a close. Um pretty much comes to a close at
- 1:06:20this point. Dominic does visit Kid in New Hampshire at like towards the end
- 1:06:27of his towards the end of his time there. And yes, there are
- 1:06:31some spicy scenes that I'll not go intode ah, but this is pretty much
- 1:06:39where the story comes to a close. We do get one final prologue,
- 1:06:45this time from the perspective of Bear. So by this point Bear and Otter
- 1:06:53had already taken the steps to find a surrogate, and their surrogate had already
- 1:06:59has already been and is already pregnant with their kid. They thought about going
- 1:07:05through the using the method of surrogacy of insimmonation, where doctors take the semen
- 1:07:15of both partners and mix them together to kind of like make a it's like
- 1:07:21that rule more complicated way of basically conceive the artificially conceiving a child using the
- 1:07:31DNA of both partners, so when the kid comes out, it's going to
- 1:07:34be like equal parts, like dad and dad. Yeah, I want I
- 1:07:41would love to do that one. That would be cool. But the thing
- 1:07:45is is that that is very expensive as it is a normal surrogacy is like
- 1:07:50seventy thousand dollars on average. So they decide to do the surrogacy with just
- 1:08:00one of their with just one of them being the dad in honor. Honor
- 1:08:04is the one who makes that to sit who who suggests that, like,
- 1:08:08let's just do it with just one of us being the dad, and he
- 1:08:12convinces Bear to let tells Bear that he wants Bear to be the dad,
- 1:08:17to be the donor, so to be their kid. It'll be Bear's kid.
- 1:08:21And while Bear is like, well wait, once you want kids to
- 1:08:24be like one of the at least one kids be yours, and like,
- 1:08:28would you want the kid to be yours? And he's like, no,
- 1:08:30it's okay. I mean my parents already got their grandkid out of got their
- 1:08:34grandkids out of Creed. Because Creed now has two kids. Mm hmm,
- 1:08:41a JJ and c J. There's a there's a trend in the names there.
- 1:08:45Yeah, And so they pretty much when the when the prologue happens,
- 1:08:54it's already pretty much like mid term, so at the point where the baby
- 1:08:59has develop enough to where they can find out the gender. And so their
- 1:09:06surrogate was gonna go was going to the Ultra Sun appointment. They wanted to
- 1:09:12be there, but they had other stuff to do and they couldn't really make
- 1:09:15it because her appointment was going to be in another town. Uh. So
- 1:09:19they're just waiting for her to tell them, like give them the news,
- 1:09:21like how's the baby right? And they wanted to they made the decision to
- 1:09:29wait on knowing the gender of the baby on Soula was born. But uh,
- 1:09:40while they are going about their day, two things happen. Yeah.
- 1:09:50Person foremost they get a call from the surrogate. I just want to preface,
- 1:09:59nothing's wrong. The baby is fine. Who But while so Otter is
- 1:10:06the one who ends up taking the call. And while he's on the phone,
- 1:10:10there's a knock at the door and Bear opens the door and it's the
- 1:10:17little sister, isn't it. It's the little sister. Yes, But the
- 1:10:24thing is she's not there. Because she's not there for the reasons. You
- 1:10:26think, well, she kind of is. But so as it turns out,
- 1:10:32so this is the first time Bear meets his little sister Isabelle, and
- 1:10:39when he sees her, he immediately recognizes her. And when she sees him,
- 1:10:44she gets this look of this immense look of relief, knowing that she
- 1:10:46finally made it, and she breaks down in front of him and she tells
- 1:10:51him that their mom, Julie McKenna, has passed away. Oh shit.
- 1:11:00As it turns out, she died of what is uh the doctors referred to
- 1:11:05as a massive cardiac event. So she has a heart, she had a
- 1:11:09hard tackle. She was at work. They knew that she had a daughter,
- 1:11:14and social services were about to get We're gonna actually come for her.
- 1:11:17But Izzy was like, now, fuck that, and she packed her ship
- 1:11:20and she somehow she managed to get a bus ticket and she made her way
- 1:11:26all the way to Seafair from Idaho, and she remembered, she memorized uh
- 1:11:31the address that Ty gave her and too, and she made it to the
- 1:11:36Green Monstrosity and finds her brother and Bear. Yeah, Bear, who was
- 1:11:44beginning to freak out from the revelation that his mother is dead. I mean
- 1:11:46he does there's no love lost between him and his mom. In fact,
- 1:11:50he hates her fucking guts, especially after all the ship she put him through.
- 1:11:54Yeah. But while he is like, of course understandably like foring out,
- 1:12:00like, oh shit, my mom is dead and my little sister is
- 1:12:01at my doorstep just showed up on my doorstep. In the background, he
- 1:12:04can hear otters starting to freak out too, because, as it turns out,
- 1:12:15they're having twins. Oh shit, yep, so they got they got
- 1:12:24two for a price. So now not only does he take is his little
- 1:12:29sister showing there at his doorstep, but he's getting two for the price of
- 1:12:31one. Oh my god. Oh well, shit twinsies whimsies yep. And
- 1:12:41that, Ladies and Gentleman, is where this book ends. Now, of
- 1:12:45course, there's a lot more that happens in the book. There's a lot
- 1:12:47more details and a few other details that I may or may not have forgotten
- 1:12:50and or may or may not have excluded just for the sake of time.
- 1:12:54But really I do that on purpose, people, so that way you get
- 1:12:59a little you just you get the idea of what's going on in the story.
- 1:13:02But if you want, if you want the details, if you want
- 1:13:05the t pick up the book and read it or going audible. If you
- 1:13:10have Audible, it should be on audible. Listen, give it a listen
