- 0:23I was devastated by the 1st 2 injuries and then just attack
- 0:26called my first round pick like the next day I was like yeah
- 0:30talk about kicking the guy while he's down.
- 0:32Yeah, seriously. But what we will get into that,
- 0:34yeah. Very shortly, maybe you guys
- 0:36will, I won't. Yeah, your.

- 2:57own roster, join the discord and we're actively engaging there,
- 2:59literally. On Kevin needs to.
- 3:01Do that. Denny's like crazy through your
- 3:04rosters because his is in shambles.
- 3:06Right. So today we're going to get into
- 3:08it, but like, my whole team is dead.
- 3:10So I'm just I'd rather see everybody else's team succeed.
- 3:15Yeah, yeah, that's the news for the week.
- 3:16Somehow every player on Kevin's team, even though they're all on
- 3:19different real NHL teams, they got on a bus.
- 3:21I'm just off a Cliff so. I'm expecting Morgan Riley to be
- 3:25next with how Jake he was talking about him previously.
- 3:28Oh my God I wish it had to happen.
- 3:32Everything. You put a hit out on your entire
- 3:34team. Literally Morgan Riley slashed
- 3:37by somebody with a Frankenstein mask or something.
- 3:40OK, this is not part of the serious news story.
- 3:42It's just. To be very clear, you have to
- 3:45stop joking about that because Leafs fans are no joke.
- 3:50They will come for you soon enough.
- 3:53Right here is his address. Yeah, anyway, Morgan, Morgan
- 3:58Riley is going to stay healthy all season.
- 4:00He's just not going. To be he's a stud to Josh's.
- 4:02Josh's feeling that this week. Yeah, I'm definitely feeling it
- 4:06this week. Alright, let's dive into some
- 4:08tidbits. And also some news I guess, but
- 4:09mostly tidbits to start us off the biggest news of the day.
- 4:15Barrett Hayton is healthy and playing a Line 1.
- 4:19Really, lower the hammer there. I know I like to, I like to eat
- 4:23this in. He's playing line one power play
- 4:252 and I wouldn't be surprised to see him overtake Coolly on power
- 4:28play 1 due to the face off wins. Kevin, I know that's not what
- 4:30you want to hear, but if you're objective you have to agree.
- 4:33Coolly cannot win a face off to save his life.
- 4:35It's true he can't, but I just think he's too good and they
- 4:38need him there so. But all I want someone.
- 4:41To talk team is being pretty bad right now if you're looking at
- 4:44most of their star players. I think everybody except Gunther
- 4:46is like not performing at what they're supposed to be doing.
- 4:49Like literally everybody else, someone on the power play,
- 4:53someone on the power play has to win a face off.
- 4:55Like it's such a massive thing, so.
- 4:57Take the face off. I don't like not like it's not
- 5:00like he's like that good at it either.
- 5:01And usually like I've noticed a trend where teams like to have
- 5:04two face off win guys on their power play.
- 5:06So that is one of the first guy gets like yeah, exactly because
- 5:09it's just such a massive swing right to just start in their
- 5:11zone. So I'm just putting it out
- 5:13there, not just because I picked up Barrett Hayton, but but I do
- 5:17think he gets P1 at some point. If he can do something with it,
- 5:20he'll keep it. If not, then it'll go back.
- 5:22But that's my my little tidbit from my team.
- 5:24Let's dive into how Kevin's team is dead.
- 5:27So the actual big news of the day, this is probably the
- 5:31biggest news. We're gonna say Brady Kuchuk
- 5:34suffered a wrist injury in Monday's game and he will miss 4
- 5:37plus weeks and may need surgery. If he gets surgery, he'll he
- 5:41could miss up to two months. This is just a massive, massive
- 5:44blow. Pretty much every league ready
- 5:48checks the first rounder. So anyone who has ready Chuck on
- 5:50their team, that was your first round pick.
- 5:53There's just, and it's not one of those guys that like you
- 5:55could stream a replacement, right?
- 5:57Because he touches so many categories of such an elite
- 6:00level that it's not like if your first round picks a pure points
- 6:03guy, obviously you're not gonna match that level of points, but
- 6:05you can stream a guy for a week. We'll randomly put up a couple
- 6:07of points if you stream wisely. But Ketchup is just a
- 6:11irreplaceable guy. Not to rub it in Kevin, but
- 6:13that's. Just.
- 6:14Facts. It was, it was a great, great
- 6:16pick and it really, really sucks.
- 6:19Yeah, he's the cornerstone of every Bangers team.
- 6:21He he, it set the tone in your draft and afterwards, like
- 6:26without him, it's very hard to come back from that.
- 6:29The good news is that you specifically still have a pretty
- 6:31solid team if you could weather the storm and not get demolished
- 6:34for the next 4 weeks I think. You're in a great position like
- 6:36that. Yeah, no it.
- 6:40Absolutely wrecked for the. Next two months.
- 6:42So, so he he touches on everything, all the categories
- 6:47and it's gonna be really, really tough.
- 6:50That being said, what do you do in your position?
- 6:53Do you try to reverse consolidate?
- 6:55Like do you try to give one player and try to get back two
- 6:57In the meantime, I would not trade to Chuck.
- 7:00I would keep to Chuck for. Sure.
- 7:01If you're if you're in a team in a league that's like 12 teams
- 7:06and like let's say 10, the 13 roster spots, like you know,
- 7:11you're starting two of every position and you have a decent
- 7:13bench. I would, I would.
- 7:15League. Yeah, shallow league, but I feel
- 7:17like that's like more default league.
- 7:18So I don't want to necessarily call it shoulder more shallow
- 7:21release than that. But if that's the case, like I'm
- 7:23not necessarily trying to reverse consolidate.
- 7:25Like at that point, you just pick up the next best waiver guy
- 7:29because there's still talent on the waiver wire.
- 7:31And listen, you're not going to get truck production while you
- 7:33do your best and you pick up the best guy available.
- 7:35If you're in a deep really like I am like listen, I I just lost
- 7:39could Chuck, I just lost my first round pick, my third round
- 7:42pick in my 10th round pick. Yeah, but no spoilers.
- 7:44Cause no spoilers I'm not going to the names, but literally the
- 7:46only guys that are injured in this season are on my team.
- 7:48So if you can think about who that is.
- 7:51So I'm losing a lot of banger category coverage realistically.
- 7:54Like my hits, I just lost 40 hits on every week pretty much.
- 7:59Yeah, it's not for me. Its not like being checked
- 8:01plating could. Chuck played 13 minutes and got
- 8:04injured and still put up two shots in six hits.
- 8:08Actually, like absurd. I know so not know I'm playing
- 8:12against you. Yeah, I know.
- 8:14Yeah, and normally when a guy gets injured, I mention who
- 8:17takes his spot on power play one.
- 8:18But that ties into our next point, which is actually some
- 8:20good news for Kevin, which is Drake Batherson is returning for
- 8:23Wednesday's game. He'll be Line 2, power play 1,
- 8:26and he's gonna take a Chuck spot on the power play.
- 8:28Normally he would have bumped off Pinto, but Pinto fans,
- 8:31actually this is a a big pickup Pinto moment.
- 8:33If he's available in your league, he's rostered in like
- 8:3530% of leagues. Something around.
- 8:37There's a must pick up right now.
- 8:39He was honestly before this could Chuck injury, he was gonna
- 8:41be my cell high or I I thought maybe he's too low roster to be
- 8:44the cell, but he was a clear like this guy's gonna go down
- 8:46the second he gets bumped off power play one.
- 8:48But with this could Chuck injury, he already started off
- 8:50hot and now he's gonna get to keep his deployment for at least
- 8:52four weeks. I really like him as a pickup
- 8:54hold and then right before I could Chuck comes back sell him.
- 8:58And I just want last thing on cut Chuck, I looked into the
- 9:03injury and like, listen, I I scoured, I did some research, I
- 9:07used CHPT everything. I just want to get like a
- 9:09perfect picture of what we're looking like.
- 9:11And at the time of this recording, the only news that we
- 9:13have is that they said, coach said at least four weeks and
- 9:17they're gonna evaluate with a potential surgery.
- 9:19If he doesn't get surgery, it's looking like 4 to six weeks is
- 9:22an accurate timeline. If he does get surgery, it looks
- 9:25like the maximum, the estimated maximum time depending on the
- 9:30severity of the injury is probably like 8 to 9 weeks, like
- 9:338 to 10 weeks. So that would be like just a
- 9:35little over two months. So it doesn't seem like it's
- 9:38going to be like a season ending thing.
- 9:39Obviously you're never know, but I think I think debating on
- 9:43surgery because you want to play the Olympics.
- 9:45So I think that's why they're not straight, doesn't wanna risk
- 9:50like. Reentering it right before the
- 9:51Olympics. Yeah, or missing they're.
- 9:53More likely to get the surgery in order to make sure he's
- 9:56healthy by. Then no, I think.
- 9:59I think if he does get the surgery he has a higher chance
- 10:01of missing the Olympics. OK.
- 10:03OK. So I think that they're like,
- 10:04OK, let's make sure that if we need to do it, we do it.
- 10:07And if we don't need to do it, maybe they don't risk it.
- 10:09So OK, that's kind of how I think about it, but best case 4
- 10:13weeks, worst case 10 weeks is my is my non medical anymore, you
- 10:18know? Over the next few days and
- 10:21weeks, but our week, but I would say the two kind of takeaways
- 10:26from this is 1 and to look at the small bright side is it's
- 10:31way better to happen this at the beginning of the season than
- 10:33right before playoffs. That's the small bright side.
- 10:35And the second is if Shane Pintos available in your league,
- 10:37I would snap him up as a as a not replacement because no one
- 10:41can replace ketchup on your team.
- 10:42But I think he's going to benefit the most from this
- 10:44injury. Yep.
- 10:46And maybe by the time you listen to this like you already have
- 10:48some more clarity on the contract news.
- 10:49Obviously just stay up to date and look at the news sources and
- 10:52everything like that. But that's that's what it's
- 10:54looking like right now. So who's right wing Online 2 now
- 10:58for Ottawa, Josh. It's gonna be David Perron or
- 11:04like. You gotta do the Bing Bang Bang
- 11:06with the audio. Ohhhhh my God.
- 11:09So it's not that. Everyone was.
- 11:12Sounding way too solemn about. This and I.
- 11:15Get it? It's a rough time out there for
- 11:17to Chuck owners, but you know I. Think you're gonna keep cousins
- 11:20with a Mario and Perot and Piper?
- 11:22Batherson would do so and I would not be surprised to see
- 11:25Thailand bumped down the line because he has not been doing
- 11:27anything. Yeah.
- 11:29And I, if somebody does get bumped up, I really like, really
- 11:32Greek like and if you're in a deeper league, I feel like
- 11:34really Ridley Greek Greek Greg is, I had a green Nokia sleeper
- 11:40right now because he has a category coverage to him. 100.
- 11:43Percent so I I like your middle deep banger leagues.
- 11:46So we we all love to Chuck for for banger leagues is like, you
- 11:49know, a top five player, but do you think for the actual sends
- 11:52power play, this is gonna take away from it a lot.
- 11:56No, he wasn't from presence. That's like the easiest spot to
- 12:00lose pretty much. Yeah, so if anybody is thinking
- 12:04about selling their sends, players don't because he's such
- 12:09a good individual player for Rangers leagues.
- 12:11It's not like he's Kucherov go off on the Lightning or McDavid,
- 12:16you know? What I mean, it's not like he's
- 12:17the biggest points guy like he. Exactly.
- 12:19Exactly. So it's not all your senators.
- 12:21Yeah. And if someone's willing to buy
- 12:23your senators, like if you're willing to buy senators, that
- 12:27could be a decent time, especially Pinto should
- 12:28definitely be rostered. Let's go to.
- 12:31The next one, Next one, yeah, I put them all in a row so just to
- 12:37get RIP the Band-Aid off and then we can get positive Kevin
- 12:40back for a for a bit of the episode.
- 12:42But Vinny Trocheck is out week to week with an upper body
- 12:45injury, and Lafreniere is going to take his spot on power play
- 12:48one while he's gone. Kevin also has Trocheck, in case
- 12:51anyone was wondering. My third round, yeah, that's his
- 12:54third round pick and I have Lafreniere, but I'm not.
- 12:58You know, 14th round pick. Not gonna not gonna celebrate or
- 13:02anything, but no, it's it obviously it's a really big loss
- 13:05for the Rangers. We all kind of pegged them as a
- 13:07bounce back candidate this year and I think it is a big loss for
- 13:11them. I don't necessarily they've been
- 13:13off to a slow start regardless of the injury.
- 13:15I don't necessarily think this makes their power play worse.
- 13:18I think laugh kind of deserve to be there over Trocheck in the
- 13:201st place. So if you're a laugh owner, it's
- 13:24great if laughs available in your league, snap him up.
- 13:28He's. A must pick up like if you
- 13:29follow us on discord or Twitter or anywhere like I made multiple
- 13:33posts being like this guy needs to be picked up ASAP when we saw
- 13:36the Trocheck injury news before he even got like announced We
- 13:39tweak. So you definitely want to be on
- 13:42top of that. And if you're still available
- 13:43like he's a must pick up. Yeah, because he's shown he's
- 13:46got the back cat coverage, like the shots and hits.
- 13:49He's doing a really good job so far to start the season and the
- 13:52points aren't there just yet. But he just got that power play
- 13:54one spot and the Rangers as a whole have kind of been
- 13:56struggling points wise. So once it comes for the team,
- 13:58he's definitely gonna be involved in a lot of it.
- 14:00So I love that pick up. I think the Rangers have started
- 14:03slow just in general this season.
- 14:05Like, yeah, they got out already twice in the first three games
- 14:08that they're stars, missed training camp.
- 14:10Like, yeah, that's it. I think the the injuries to
- 14:12Panera and to JT and training camp are I think both of them
- 14:15have said and the coaches said like, yeah, like, you know,
- 14:18we're still slow starting off, but we'll get back into game
- 14:20shape and get it back together. So, so yeah, but it's definitely
- 14:23been a slow start. So good time to buy low on some
- 14:25Rangers I guess. You think of Trocheck like if
- 14:28Laugh performs that, he's gonna just keep that power play.
- 14:32Yeah, I would like to present at all.
- 14:34I mean, already before the injury, the coach said multiple
- 14:37times like we're gonna give laugh reps on power play 1 to
- 14:40give him a chance to break out. So this is his, this is his
- 14:43audition pretty much. If he does nothing with it, then
- 14:46I think Check gets it back when he comes back.
- 14:48But if he if the power play really clicks then I don't see
- 14:50any reason why they would bump him off.
- 14:52Yep. Alright, let's go to the.
- 14:55Next page, just estimated timeline for project from what I
- 14:57saw doing a little digging was three to four weeks so that it
- 15:01still don't have clarity on what exactly is the injury.
- 15:04But that kind of seems like the the window and project has like
- 15:07has not missed any time over the last three years.
- 15:09So this is just unlucky. So brutal.
- 15:15I feel bad, but like, we gotta keep some energy for the podcast
- 15:19even though, you know, we feel bad for our co-host.
- 15:21I'm relying. So anyways, on to this next one.
- 15:24Josh Norris out eight weeks with an upper body injury.
- 15:27In his absence, Tage moved to line 1 centre and was absolutely
- 15:30killing it at face off wins. So if you have tape, that's a
- 15:32big win. And McLeod seems to be taking
- 15:34his powerfully on spot. But they've been so bad that I
- 15:37think it can go to anyone. I think maybe Benson's healthy.
- 15:40You might take that spot. Yeah, they're going to keep
- 15:43changing things up. Other than Tage and Darlene, I
- 15:45don't think anyone on that power play.
- 15:47But yeah, there's a massive loss.
- 15:48Norris was there 1C going in. They traded Cousins to get him
- 15:52last season and he literally got injured.
- 15:54I know it's not the same injury as before, but it's the same way
- 15:56he got injured in the past where literally just taking a face off
- 16:00and he is just so squishy. It's crazy.
- 16:04Like I don't think there's a single player in the league that
- 16:07is squishier than him. I don't know if you guys can
- 16:09think of anyone off the top of your heads, but to me, I'm
- 16:11honestly like getting to the point where I'm worried for the
- 16:13rest of his career. Like I'm worried if he can play
- 16:15out the rest of his contract that this keeps happening.
- 16:18He's the squishiest for sure. He's always, always hurt like.
- 16:22It's always like off of face off, like it's it's not never
- 16:25even like something happens to him for the most part.
- 16:28The the amount of time that like what we've spoken.
- 16:30About it we mentioned all my. Time.
- 16:32Yes. Oh no, we didn't.
- 16:34Oh yeah. He's my 10th round pick, which
- 16:36was a steal. The one CNN Buffalo finished the
- 16:39first game with four shots on goal.
- 16:40Looked nice, took a face off, died.
- 16:44Recipe for disaster. Yeah this this is like the non
- 16:47surprising one like trocheck is Iron Man.
- 16:50You know it's that one crazy to me but this he's always hurt if
- 16:55you have an IR slot like stash him cuz for Bangaly he's awesome
- 16:59but. This one sucks, but you
- 17:01definitely knew what you were getting when you drafted him.
- 17:03Like you know why he went? To the thought did more than 18
- 17:06minutes. On yeah, that's. 9090% of the
- 17:10time we speak about Nora season under, it's like it's crazy.
- 17:13And we recorded last last week's waiver episode like our
- 17:17calendars didn't really align. So we had a tricky recording
- 17:19time and we recorded literally right before his injury, which
- 17:22is. Just we had him as like our
- 17:23number one pick up for. Yeah, for this week.
- 17:26He was set up so perfectly and was off to such a good start.
- 17:29Josh Norris is single handedly responsible for us changing up
- 17:32our recording schedule. So are we for episode is now
- 17:35more up to date because we got so burned with this past week or
- 17:39like OK, that's such a bad look to recommend Norris when he's
- 17:41out for eight weeks. So thanks Josh.
- 17:43Now we now we got a really, we mess up our schedule, but it's
- 17:47better for the viewers. So it works out for you guys.
- 17:50Yeah, alright, let's let's move on and and get off of Kevin's
- 17:54team for a bit and let him recover emotionally.
- 17:56So Brian Russell was activated off IR and bumped Koivunen
- 18:01offline one and power play one. Who could have seen this one
- 18:04coming? He's also, I know, I know this
- 18:09isn't part of Kevin's team, but but Clavin was.
- 18:12Kevin was hyping him up so much. It was a late round like.
- 18:14The 17th round and I was like, you're gonna drop him within two
- 18:18weeks and I was right. It was my eighteenth round pick
- 18:21and then I got high because Russ got hurt like before the season
- 18:24started. So he got bumped up to line 1
- 18:26and then potentially P1. But yeah, I mean, rest is back,
- 18:29so I think he's got scratch Even so.
- 18:32Yeah, but I'm excited for as a Crosby owner, he's been off to a
- 18:35slow start and the rest is really when he can be healthy.
- 18:38He's a really solid player and they have great chemistry, him
- 18:41and Raquel as well, so. So I expect more offence from
- 18:45that top line now that Rust is back.
- 18:47And I saw a report today that basically said like Raquel and
- 18:51Eric Carlson are pretty much 100% getting traded this year.
- 18:54Like it's, it's crazy, no question that they're getting
- 18:57treated And then. You have both of them on your
- 18:58team. Yeah, both of them on the team,
- 19:00which was really nice because I feel like if Carlson gets traded
- 19:02is going to a team that needs a power play quarterback and tell
- 19:06Raquel probably goes to a team, there's probably a middle.
- 19:08School would be less excited I deleted about trade.
- 19:11Less excited for Raquel, so we'll see.
- 19:14Depends on the team, anything can happen.
- 19:16Yeah, and obviously Crosby's going to the Habs, so.
- 19:19Honestly I feel like problems getting created this year.
- 19:21If Malkin gets traded to Florida, then I think Crosby is
- 19:23out. Oh my God.
- 19:25I mean, yeah, 100%. I feel like he's kinda like he
- 19:27doesn't wanna ditch mocking her Letang, But if either of them is
- 19:32gone, then he I feel like that definitely loosens the ties of
- 19:35and I was telling you guys before, before the the episode
- 19:38that I've just been watching the that face off inside the NHL
- 19:41like a documentary and, and Crosby's on it and he's and on
- 19:46one episode and he's talking. He's like, you know, winnings,
- 19:48all that, like that. I've known and it's like at this
- 19:50point in my career, that's what I want to be doing.
- 19:52And, and look, you know, at this point, I think it's up to, it's
- 19:56100% up to Crosby. If he decides he wants to be
- 19:58gone, he's gone. If not, then he's staying and
- 20:00it'll be really interesting to see.
- 20:01But anyways, we got a bit off 10 off on 10 years.
- 20:03Let's keep. The do you wanna trade Raquel
- 20:06though? Just off the concept of like him
- 20:08having a good season. No, I think you got him late
- 20:10enough in your drafts that he's not like somebody that you need
- 20:13to get off your roster and capitalize on.
- 20:15He's also one of the best blocking forwards in the league.
- 20:18I'm just I'm gonna ride his production until he gets treated
- 20:21and then hope that it's not like a spot that completely collapses
- 20:24value. It's like you.
- 20:25Really. Never.
- 20:26Good, but. Yeah, that's it, because I think
- 20:29that you could sell it on the great playoff schedule, plus the
- 20:33concept of him being super solid in the back hats and then next
- 20:36thing you know, you're not left such a good playoff schedule.
- 20:39You're left holding the bag and a middle 6 forward.
- 20:42I mean, The thing is for me, I desperately need those back
- 20:44casts now since I lost Brady Trocheck.
- 20:46Yeah, yeah, yeah. In general I do agree with what
- 20:51Jake is saying though. I do think, I mean, look,
- 20:54there's so many possibilities. It's so early in the season, but
- 20:57I'd be shocked if Raquel doesn't get worse with the trade just
- 20:59because right now he's lying one power play one like there's so
- 21:02many places he can go where he won't be either.
- 21:04So I mean, he'll his back hats are are going to be really solid
- 21:08regardless, but I definitely think trade is worse.
- 21:10So but it's so early in the season, you gotta let him.
- 21:12Yeah, let him. Rape.
- 21:13He's not getting those back. That's.
- 21:15Exactly, It's gonna be a deadline trade.
- 21:16So maybe like come Christmas before the deadline.
- 21:20Yeah, exactly. All right, next we've got Lucas
- 21:24Raymond of the Detroit Red Wings is day-to-day with an upper body
- 21:26injury. Honestly, I'm not sure exactly
- 21:28who would get power play one. I'm not sure it's Casper or
- 21:30Camper, but this would be a massive, massive loss both for
- 21:34Raymond owners and honestly everyone who plays with Raymond.
- 21:37This is a big a big dip. I'm not happy as they I've Cain
- 21:39and Insider and both like last year and already going into this
- 21:44year, their power play has been so good.
- 21:46So losing anyone, especially someone as good as Raymond, is a
- 21:49big, big loss and all affect the most of all.
- 21:52Yeah, I saw the Raven injury and it did not look good at all.
- 21:55Like out of out of the trocheck, Norris and Brady, he's looked
- 21:58like by far the worst that he might be out like the last time
- 22:01out of the three. Of them, yeah, it's crazy.
- 22:03How that works? Maybe by the time you listen to
- 22:05this they have a more clear update, but as of right now it
- 22:07kind of is very ambiguous. I feel like it's at least week
- 22:10to week if you're asking me. From what you guys think, takes
- 22:13takes power play 1. I'm my Casper.
- 22:16Yeah, I think that that would be nuts for Casper.
- 22:19Yeah, he should be rostered for sure right now with the
- 22:23potential. I think for our Bangers league
- 22:25he's like really good anyways to be.
- 22:26Honest, yeah, he should already be rostered in deep angers
- 22:29leagues, but now for the potential of getting that power
- 22:31play one. It depends how fast acting your
- 22:32league is, right? If you could have the, you know,
- 22:34luxury of waiting to see if he gets it and then picking him up,
- 22:37then do that. But in a lot of leagues, the
- 22:38second he's like it's announced, he's probably 1, he's gone.
- 22:41So you might want to get ahead of it on this one.
- 22:43And also don't don't read into too much of what we're saying.
- 22:46Like we're recommending Casper right now and he would be an
- 22:50amazing pickup. But it also depends on how deep
- 22:51your league is and who else is available.
- 22:53Like if you're in a shallow league and there's guys like
- 22:56Bull Horvat on waivers, like I'm not gonna be like, go pick up
- 22:58Marco Casper ahead of, you know what I mean?
- 23:00Yeah, of course. I feel like that kind of can get
- 23:02misconstrued when you're listening to a news or waiver
- 23:05episode. Like we recommend that she loves
- 23:07a lot in the first week as a guy that may be potentially getting
- 23:10started, but don't get it twisted.
- 23:12If there's like an actual solid start her out there, we're not
- 23:16saying take sheilas over them, you know what I mean?
- 23:18So just just be aware and know your league and and how deep
- 23:21waivers are. And if you have any questions,
- 23:22like drop us a question in Discord if you actually wanna
- 23:26and you actually want to promote this, have an actual chat and
- 23:30the CEO who you rather. So yeah.
- 23:32Yeah. All right.
- 23:33Next. Week conference quick thing yeah
- 23:35Confer like if he does get power play one.
- 23:37I'm not excited about that at all Casper.
- 23:39It's like a real opportunity to do good things.
- 23:42Calm for is just really never made solid contributions
- 23:45offensively with the time he's had in his whole career and he's
- 23:49a known commodity. Yeah, I mean, he's had times
- 23:51where he's been a solid streak. Like 3 years ago, Like yeah.
- 23:53Not anymore. Yeah.
- 23:55No, say it's all a streamer like it like he's not gonna I mean,
- 23:58if he has power play one, I have no no issue with holding him for
- 24:02like a week or two and seeing if he puts up some numbers.
- 24:04Again, this is very deeply specific, but yeah, no, it's
- 24:08Casper's. Like I would actually be excited
- 24:09about seeing what he can do. Comfort is like, OK, maybe he'll
- 24:11chip in an odd power play point here and there.
- 24:13So while also winning face offs. Exactly.
- 24:15I hope it's Casper, it's way more fun.
- 24:18Yeah. Alright, let's move on to the
- 24:20next. Alright, Peoria Kochetkov was
- 24:23placed on IR. He should be out for at least a
- 24:25week I think. It's still kind of unclear
- 24:27what's going on with him, but in the meantime, Freddie Anderson
- 24:30will get the majority of the starts.
- 24:31Although on a Tuesday, it seems that Brandon Bussey is starting
- 24:35for the Carolina. Bussey Alert.
- 24:40I, I, I had to say it. I mean, it's true.
- 24:42I didn't make it up but. They they said they're on a
- 24:46major road trip right now the, the Hurricanes.
- 24:50So I think they know also Freddy's injury history.
- 24:52They don't wanna, they don't wanna get a load back too hard.
- 24:55So busy getting the game on Tuesday and then I expect
- 24:58Freddie to get the two other ones following that and.
- 25:00Then yeah, looks like busy is getting the load on this one.
- 25:02Yeah. Yeah.
- 25:06God anyways. And then?
- 25:08We have to bleep that or is that OK?
- 25:10No, I think. It's fine.
- 25:11It's just a amazing play on words.
- 25:13But I would, I would monitor this thing because honestly the
- 25:18the news that I'm seeing like does not look good.
- 25:20It was just like he tweaked something in practice.
- 25:22It's not getting better. He's gonna miss some time.
- 25:24He's not going on the road trip. The road trip is like 2 weeks
- 25:26long. So it's kind of like, OK, what's
- 25:28actually happening here. And honestly, I'm not super
- 25:30impressed with when he was healthy either.
- 25:32Both of these guys are kind of like.
- 25:34I mean, when it was already, it was already a tandem.
- 25:38It's not like it's not like a like Blackwood, Wedgwood
- 25:40situation where like the clear #1 is out when he comes back,
- 25:43obviously there's stuff going on there with Wedgwood being doing
- 25:46really well, but like it's this was like already a 5050 now
- 25:49could Chekov is out. So this is great for Freddie
- 25:52owners, sucks for Chekov owners, and I don't think there's any
- 25:55busy owners so. I, I have Freddie on my team and
- 26:00I'm just gonna ride him until checkout comes back.
- 26:02I'm but I also went zero G like punted 0G completely.
- 26:05So I'm I need Freddy to get those starts right now.
- 26:08Yeah. And it's great.
- 26:10It's great, but it's it's limited time for now.
- 26:14But who knows. Very, very unclear.
- 26:16I'm off my game. I've just been trying to come up
- 26:18with a pun for the past for the past minute.
- 26:20I came up with like 3 more but I just I can't keep doing it.
- 26:24It's not, it's like not anything I'm excited about with this,
- 26:28this goaltending duo. Talk about squishy.
- 26:30Freddy's the squishiest there is.
- 26:33We may as well may as well could check offs out.
- 26:35I mean, the fact is Caroline is still a top top team.
- 26:37One thing I will say though, with Carolina goaltending that
- 26:39is a bit rough is they're so good at limiting shots that like
- 26:43the goalie can let in like two goals, which is and they'll win
- 26:47like 32 or 4 two or something. But it could be like two goals
- 26:49in like 17 shots. And then he ends up with pretty
- 26:51bad rate stats. Goals against average will be
- 26:54fine, but safe percentage specifically so that's just
- 26:56something to note for Carolina goalies.
- 26:57But it's an easy grab Freddie and hold him until he could.
- 27:00Check us back if you need a goalie.
- 27:02Definitely. Rate Next we've got PLD
- 27:07day-to-day with a lower body injury, and what is actually
- 27:11very interesting here is that instead of Chickering getting
- 27:14that power play one spot, it's Sunny Milano.
- 27:16Look, who knows if this is gonna last more than like one power
- 27:18play or one game or what, but that's crazy to me.
- 27:21Why is Chicken not immediately slotting in there?
- 27:23What do you guys think about that?
- 27:24Why is produce rotting in there? What is this this hate on
- 27:29protest? Protest is like a fantastic
- 27:31player. He's too tall producing, he's
- 27:34too big. Producing again like.
- 27:38He's a 55 like legend. I don't know why they.
- 27:41Don't want him on the PowerPoints in three games and
- 27:44like a really solid shots over 19 minutes a night.
- 27:48Like what are they doing? He's good.
- 27:50He's just a good. Player, maybe it's like a
- 27:52Brandon Hagel type of thing where the guy is producing
- 27:55enough and and well enough even strength that they're like, we'd
- 27:58rather save your energy for even strength when you can still
- 28:02produce rather than get you more tired on the power play.
- 28:05I don't know want to think about like the the thought logic
- 28:08behind having guys perform so well 55 and not putting them on
- 28:11the power play. And that's the only thing I can
- 28:12really think of. Or there's also guys, I guess
- 28:15who just don't necessarily translate well to power play.
- 28:17It is a different kind of play than even strength.
- 28:20I'd be surprised that, you know, putting a guy like protist net
- 28:23front wouldn't just be sick. But, you know, maybe he's so
- 28:26tall that the goalie can actually see through his legs
- 28:29and that's why he's not good at blocking fee.
- 28:34I don't know what I think this. May be the most logical answer
- 28:38on is like nothing else makes sense.
- 28:40But I'm back to chicken. I'm genuinely worried because
- 28:44last season we saw chicken get a lot of looks on PP1 and even
- 28:48honestly, yeah, even over Carlson.
- 28:50And it worked well, like their power play was great.
- 28:53So the fact that he's not getting any looks there this
- 28:56season, even in spite of injuries happening, it just
- 29:00makes me think that, like, the only way he gets them people one
- 29:02is if he's purely overtakes Carlson.
- 29:05Yeah. And I don't know if that's going
- 29:07to happen. So yeah, definitely a huge blow
- 29:09for chicken rice, I think. Yeah, I mean, I was wary of
- 29:13drafting chicken this year in general and Carlson cuz I wasn't
- 29:15sure which one was going to get power play 1.
- 29:17And but I'm really shocked that with an injury here, they're not
- 29:21just going to both defensemen like they did last year when
- 29:23they were so successful. I was actually higher on chicken
- 29:25going into the draft. Like I liked him a lot.
- 29:27I thought he had a great category cleavage and I thought
- 29:29he had a lot of but because it kind of felt like he could as
- 29:32long as he gets exposure to that P1 and I was confident that he
- 29:36would even get it like not confident confident, but I
- 29:38thought there was a good chance that he gets it even over
- 29:40Carlson. So the fact that he.
- 29:42Wasn't a chance 100%. It's just weird.
- 29:45Something's weird. Like keep monitoring.
- 29:47That for any left for Sonny Milano as a streamer on that
- 29:50power play? Didn't think so, but I thought
- 29:54it would be worth mentioning anyways.
- 29:56Alright, let's go to the next one we've got.
- 29:58Mackenzie Blackwood was sent to the NHL for conditioning and
- 30:01should return within the next week.
- 30:03It will be interesting to see how they split up the starts
- 30:06between him and Wedgewood because Wedgwood has been so
- 30:08good and Blackwood has the entry history.
- 30:10That being said, Blackwood is 100% the starter.
- 30:12There's no question about that. But the question is how?
- 30:15What high percentage? Like is it going to be a 6040 or
- 30:18is it going to be like a 7030? Like it's really Wedgwood really
- 30:22showing that he deserves more starts and Blackwood has that
- 30:26injury history and they might be like, we don't want to risk our
- 30:28starter obviously going playoffs are going back with the whole
- 30:31time, right? So maybe they care more about
- 30:33that, especially with how strong they started and they're like,
- 30:35let's lighten his workload a bit more and to give which would
- 30:38more starts. I'd definitely be worried as a
- 30:39Blackwood owner. I'm a Wedgewood owner.
- 30:43So I'm I'm going to because I'm very optimistic, obviously,
- 30:47because also I went I went zero G.
- 30:50So what was a big part of my strategy?
- 30:52But being completely unbiased, I think Wedgwood as of this
- 30:56recording is played four games and three of them have been
- 30:58excellent. One game against Dallas was
- 31:01tough, but he still made some really good saves.
- 31:03So just goes to show like he has some quality about him.
- 31:06He's not just like a pure backup.
- 31:08Now you have to remember last year Colorado traded for
- 31:11Wedgewood. Like they actually, they tried
- 31:14to fix their goalie room and they targeted what it would
- 31:16first. Then Blackwood became available
- 31:18and they made another move there.
- 31:19And Black would like, they rolled him until the end of the
- 31:21season. And he was actually very, very
- 31:23solid. Yeah.
- 31:24But we have to know, like, Wedgwood was a guy that they
- 31:26really liked and they were willing to make a move to go get
- 31:29on their team. So he's not just, like some
- 31:31chump backup that's just, like there for when the grandfather
- 31:34of them gets hurt. I think he's played himself into
- 31:37more of a secure position. Blackwood can be in the AHL for
- 31:40up to two weeks. I don't think he's going to be
- 31:42in there for that long. But if he comes back and he gets
- 31:44shelled or you know, he tweaks the injury he has like he's,
- 31:47he's known to be kind of squishy as well.
- 31:50If you're rocking Rd. Wedgewood right now, you're
- 31:52reading goals. I will not drop them
- 31:53immediately. As soon as Blackwood comes back,
- 31:55I'll wait to see at least like one or two games and how that
- 31:57plays out. Yeah, I fully agree.
- 32:00Like I said, I I'd I'd be, I think there's pretty much no
- 32:03chance of what gets more starts than Blackwood, but it could be
- 32:06closer to that during that 6040, barring injury, obviously, but I
- 32:09think it could be close to that 6040, which is something I would
- 32:13have never said before the season started.
- 32:15So I definitely don't panic drop Wedgewood.
- 32:17But that being said, if you see Black would start getting all
- 32:19the stars, you're not going to hold on to Wedgewood just with
- 32:21the hopes of an injury. You can't waste a roster spot
- 32:23for weeks. So.
- 32:25I'm seeing one of the. Points.
- 32:26I wouldn't be scared. To block would buy lows as well
- 32:28right now. Like who are you willing to who
- 32:30tried to get back on your roster if you're a team that let's say
- 32:33needs a goalie or. I would trade.
- 32:36I'll trade sorrows. Sarah has been killing it.
- 32:39Yeah. I don't believe in predators.
- 32:40I don't know about you guys. But no, I don't either.
- 32:42I I would trade swam in. He's also been killing it.
- 32:45Don't you trade Walmart? I don't think I would trade all
- 32:49Mark because I'm more confident in his starts.
- 32:53But I mean now to be fair, Omark has been pretty awful to start
- 32:56the season though. That's not even like a cell
- 32:57high. Like I don't think the Blackwood
- 32:59owner takes that. Would you trade that though, who
- 33:02also had two really solid games? I would way prefer black with a
- 33:04demco so yeah I would definitely do that.
- 33:07OK. I mean, I'm just saying that
- 33:09we're. Trying to get rid of their
- 33:11Blackwood shirts. They're frustrated.
- 33:13I mean, seeing this news in the that he's in the HL, I think
- 33:15will be encouraging and they may be won't be as likely to get rid
- 33:18of them. But yeah.
- 33:20Don't necessarily hunting by low offers for sure.
- 33:22It's very rare that you have the chance to to trade for just
- 33:25really on this team. Yeah, I'll take Blackwood over
- 33:28Graves, even though I love what grieves has been doing.
- 33:30I mean, the fact is like Colorado has been unreal,
- 33:32obviously, which was played really well, but it helps when
- 33:35you have one maybe the best team in the league in front of you
- 33:37for this year, right, like they're going to be contending
- 33:39for a presidents trophy with how they playing so far.
- 33:41So, so Black was gonna be an amazing goalie, and if you could
- 33:44buy low, I definitely would. Imagine how nature stack this
- 33:48year. Oh my God, I can't take him.
- 33:51I would have taken him a second round anyway.
- 33:53Whatever. I would keep Wedgwood though,
- 33:56like of course, it's like really like like just to hammer that
- 33:59point home, it's really nice to have the, what do you call them?
- 34:04The raid status? Good, good goals against
- 34:05average, good save percentage. And this is gonna be a great
- 34:08team. There are 6040 guys where if you
- 34:11get the guy getting 40% of the starts, it's worth it.
- 34:15Question will just be the split but if if that would get you one
- 34:18start a week then I would hold them.
- 34:20Obviously depending league settings but that would be
- 34:23great. Yeah, I think you will too.
- 34:25Goalies, look, he's got 5.25 million a year.
- 34:28It's not like he's getting paid what Vasilevsky or Igor getting
- 34:32paid. It's not like he has to be that
- 34:33number one with 70 plus percent of the starts.
- 34:35He doesn't have to be 5. Five is not nothing for a
- 34:38goalie, but there's room for them both to succeed.
- 34:41So I would keep them for sure. Wedgewood.
- 34:44All right, another goalie one this one's interesting for the
- 34:47Devils. Jacob Markstrom is day-to-day
- 34:49after coming into relieve Jake Allen who had some cramping on
- 34:52Monday. So if Markstrom is out,
- 34:54obviously Allen gets the starts. But if they're both out, I think
- 34:57Nico Daws gets the starts. So that's something really
- 35:00interesting to keep an eye on, especially if you're A0G guy
- 35:03because New Jersey is going to be a top team this year.
- 35:06So if you can pick up their starter, then who knows?
- 35:11I mean, look, this is they haven't released kind of a what
- 35:14the injury is or even the severity of it or how long it's
- 35:16gonna be. So keep an eye out.
- 35:18But but yeah, that's a very interesting if both the 1st and
- 35:212nd goalie get knocked out in like the same game.
- 35:24Not fun for New Jersey fan, but definitely an opportunity for
- 35:27fantasy managers. Not worried about Jake Allen at
- 35:30all. Though Guy, Scott Foster, that's
- 35:32who they need. Exactly.
- 35:34That it's got Foster to come save the day.
- 35:37So you were saying that sorry that Allen's injury isn't bad?
- 35:41I mean, is cramping right? So he just couldn't finish the
- 35:43game. I'm more concerned about because
- 35:45he actually looked shaken up by the end of the game.
- 35:48If Alan is on your waiver wire, I would highly encourage
- 35:52speculative ad and by the time you listen to this, it won't be
- 35:54speculative at this point anymore.
- 35:56But I definitely if you have Alan, do not drop him after like
- 36:00you know you got the start and you left.
- 36:02That's the biggest thing that I can recommend right now if you
- 36:04already. Had Alan, this is the moment
- 36:05even praying for so this would be.
- 36:07A really early drafted up Alan and he starts until he played me
- 36:10this week or last week. Yeah, I was gonna say you're
- 36:14playing me this week. So yeah, alright, but very
- 36:17interesting to to keep an eye on.
- 36:20Jonathan Huberdeau has started skating and should be back
- 36:23within the week. He'll bump fire, be off power
- 36:26play one. Obviously no banker coverage
- 36:29from Hooper dough and huge let down the past couple of years.
- 36:32But everyone's always in the back of their mind like could
- 36:34this be the year that he turns back from a pumpkin into and 100
- 36:37plus point player? I mean, no, he's not gonna get
- 36:40100 plus points, but he couldn't like he can.
- 36:44He can get close to point per game, has done it before, he's
- 36:47done more than that before so we'll see.
- 36:49Calgary is definitely looked very uninspired so far, so I
- 36:52don't know if him coming back will be enough to make that
- 36:55power play look like not garbage, but it's it's something
- 36:59to keep an eye on. I mean most leagues probably
- 37:01drafted super late if drafted at all so I don't know how to keep
- 37:05an eye out. Definitely less interested in
- 37:08bangers leaks than in points leagues.
- 37:11You're in the water, the deployment.
- 37:14What do you mean in the? History of a lot of those.
- 37:16No, I'm just mean if he's line 1P1 like you, that's a guy that
- 37:19you're already interested in and like he's technically supposed
- 37:22to be one of the more reliable guys on this team.
- 37:24So if you're in a deeper league, you're I'm immediately
- 37:27interested in him because the other Calgary guys haven't
- 37:29really been doing much so far. So I'd be interested to see what
- 37:32Hubert can do. Yeah, new season, new new.
- 37:36Hoping that Hubert could turn things around, and in a few
- 37:39weeks it'll be new. Being disappointed in Huber
- 37:42dough again. Yeah, I will see.
- 37:46Let's see. I think this is not gonna be a
- 37:49thing, although you'll look 62. Points I mean last.
- 37:51Last year. Last year Kevin drafted Hooper
- 37:54those super late. He started off super hot and
- 37:56Kevin tried to sell him high, which was the absolute correct
- 37:59move. No one bit.
- 38:00So Kevin ended up dropping it when he inevitably dropped off.
- 38:02But that's the move with Uber Dough this year.
- 38:04Let's say he comes back and starts off hot.
- 38:07Sell him. Sell him high because he is not
- 38:09going to do it for a full season.
- 38:10I think. I think we can all confidently
- 38:12say that alright last last two little bits that aren't that
- 38:18interesting for fantasy but I'll include it in anyways.
- 38:20Noah Hanifin is day-to-day but should not be rostered in any
- 38:23leagues. Anyway this is one of those.
- 38:25I mean this is my opinion. You guys could could say if you
- 38:27agree or disagree but there's there's some of these defensemen
- 38:31who are ranked who are like 50 plus percent rostered and it
- 38:34boggles my mind. And they literally do not do
- 38:37anything all year except for the week they play me.
- 38:39So there's really no reason to hold these guys.
- 38:41Hanifin has no chance of power play one.
- 38:42Theodore doesn't even have power play 1.
- 38:44So that's why you're holding Hanafin then let go of him.
- 38:47He doesn't get back hats. The only thing I can think of is
- 38:49maybe he's good at plus minus. Harley doesn't count that, so I
- 38:51don't really track it, but but yeah, no.
- 38:54So he's injured. But either way, I don't think
- 38:56you should be on your roster. Unless you're like the deepest
- 38:58of leagues orders like only 2% roster guys on waivers like.
- 39:02But there's like 2% guys who actually hit and block, though.
- 39:05There are, there's literally, I'd rather a 2% guy than a guy
- 39:08like Hanafin Inbetweener type of guy who doesn't really do
- 39:11anything. So yeah, that's a, that's a
- 39:13quick one. And then another one.
- 39:15Jake Walman should be back on Thursday again.
- 39:18I think other than he's been a great blocker in the past.
- 39:21I'm not sure how he how he's gonna do this here, but in the
- 39:24past he's good for blocks. But it's another one of those
- 39:25high rostered guys. Like this is a classic case of,
- 39:28oh, you're on Edmonton and you're sometimes exposed to
- 39:31McDavid and Draisaitl. You must be worth owning.
- 39:33So I I think you shouldn't be rostered in most leagues either.
- 39:38Yeah, basically. But he he's, he's.
- 39:41Really good at. Picking, you know, he played, he
- 39:43played basketball with him one time.
- 39:44He's a good. Plus minus guy, honestly it's
- 39:50not something that you should probably take into.
- 39:51Account. That's usually the answer that
- 39:53I've realized when I see all these high percent owned guys
- 39:56and I'm like they don't do anything and I realize it's
- 39:58probably just plus minus leagues, which goes for advice.
- 40:01Get out of that league. Yeah, Spinus, it's the worst
- 40:04category, yeah. Yeah.
- 40:06Alright Kevin, I will say though, 18 eight points and 15
- 40:09games last year for Wallman on Edmonton.
- 40:13That's not horrible. You could do worse than .5
- 40:15points per game guy especially. If he's gonna be a lead at
- 40:18blocks. Yeah, whereas like how to find?
- 40:20I'm not interested in it at all. But you could take a flyer on
- 40:23Wallman if he's available in our league.
- 40:26I have bad defensemen, but I would consider that and we.
- 40:31Don't know your lowest. Lowest D is gooey and I'd prefer
- 40:34gully to almond. Fair, but him?
- 40:38I'm not like totally scruffing up, but like, yeah, Hannafin.
- 40:41Forget at least Gully can score Sergachev, though he's got no
- 40:44points in. Yeah, seriously.
- 40:45Given to me. I need the blocks.
- 40:48It's Kevin. Hit us with our Would You
- 40:50rathers for this week. So would you rather is this week
- 40:53or spicy? Because listen, we've had week
- 40:551, it's in the books. Looking forward to Week 2 and
- 40:59week 1. Honestly, we had some crazy
- 41:01stats. I don't know if everybody's been
- 41:02paying attention, but we're pretty on the pulse with
- 41:04everything that's happening. And we've had multiple guys
- 41:06either average like sky high shots, sky high hits per game.
- 41:11It's been nuts that we're seeing guys average five hits a game
- 41:14who don't even get one hit a game.
- 41:15It makes. No sense.
- 41:17That's why I love the beginning of the season because just the
- 41:19stats are so skewed and you can really, if you could take
- 41:21advantage of managers who overreact, AKA myself, yeah, you
- 41:25can really pull off some good deals this early in the season.
- 41:28But it's also a good way to confirm our priors when we were
- 41:32high on certain guys. It's just like, where are you
- 41:34willing to rank them now, right? Because a three-game sample size
- 41:36is not enough to change your opinion on a player.
- 41:39It shouldn't be enough to change your opinion on a player unless
- 41:41anything really drastically changes.
- 41:43So let's see what you guys think.
- 41:45Alright, hit us up. Starting off hot with arguably
- 41:49the best player in the league, Matt Boldy versus Sam Reinhart.
- 41:56Oh baby, that's that's such a that's such a classic hot start
- 42:01versus slow start but want to retire the other.
- 42:04I'm still I still gotta go Reinhart.
- 42:06I know Bally's been unreal. I think Minnesota's power play
- 42:09is gonna be sick all year. I don't think this is really
- 42:11where literally. Every 600 division rankings.
- 42:14I'm gonna blame that one on Evan, honestly, and just call it
- 42:17a day. You actually had me convinced
- 42:20that I had them two eye as well. Like, you know what, it's been a
- 42:23week. I'm starting to doubt that
- 42:25they'll be that low. I still I still don't see them.
- 42:28I mean, Kay Boyum, I think coming in and being just a
- 42:31really good power play defence and I didn't I didn't see that
- 42:33coming. I know he was hyped up and he
- 42:35was highly drafted, but how often do you get like Elaine
- 42:37Hudson? Like first year, right?
- 42:39People saw Lane Hudson last year.
- 42:41So like, oh, this can happen. And then they just kind of
- 42:43assumed that would happen with William.
- 42:45But think of all the years prior to that.
- 42:47Were there ever any defensemen who kind of came out of nowhere?
- 42:51I mean, yeah, there's the main ones, but I don't think it's
- 42:53that common. So yeah, I'll admit I wasn't, I
- 42:55was surprised by that and that's a pleasant surprise for
- 42:57Minnesota fans. But but yeah, so I wouldn't make
- 43:00them as low right now. I still gotta go Reinhardt for
- 43:02over body though. It's just three games.
- 43:04It's just too too small of a sample size to just assume that
- 43:07both he's getting like 3 power play points per game.
- 43:10Yeah, Reinhardt has just had that career in with like elite
- 43:15pedigree for so long. And it's not like he's, you
- 43:17know, old and past his prime or anything.
- 43:20Obviously they're decimated with injuries, whereas bodies playing
- 43:23with prison, which is extremely massive.
- 43:26But for the reliability elements of it all, I would just take
- 43:30Reinhart. That's why you.
- 43:32Can so close for me. I which is crazy.
- 43:35I put this, I mean, you had the you had the joy of playing Baldy
- 43:38last week, so. That's why Baldy in Week 1, when
- 43:41he had two games and he dropped six points on me 6.
- 43:44Yeah, it's just it's crazy. Like I think this power play is
- 43:49honestly the real deal. And if they can stick, I, I feel
- 43:54like all these guys, like we saw in the sort of power to be one
- 43:56of the worst last season, like they were severely struggling.
- 43:59They were putting Jared Spurgeon on the power play.
- 44:02Yeah. So I, I, I think it's close.
- 44:06If you want it, If I want one guy right now, give me baldy.
- 44:10Wow it feels crazy but give me body.
- 44:15I got. Interesting.
- 44:17Yeah, it's hard. It's hard to disagree with that,
- 44:19with what we've seen from the first week.
- 44:21But I think it's just it's, it's tough because obviously
- 44:23something. For every game but.
- 44:25Yeah. Anyways, we'll see.
- 44:28I like it. Spicy one, yeah.
- 44:30Alright #2 looking over some top end defensemen who have started
- 44:34out very slow and I think people are worried but would you rather
- 44:38most cider or Rasmus Dahlin? Wow, OK, You picked two guys who
- 44:43both started slow. Two guys who both started slow,
- 44:46Who were I? Thought you gonna say something
- 44:47like most cider and Morgan Ryan. I'm not.
- 44:50I'm not a mad man, obviously, Morgan.
- 44:51OK, exactly. That's that's a tough one.
- 44:56I feel like you gotta go still Darlene.
- 44:58The fact is they both started slow and Darlene should be
- 45:02higher than slider. I will say, though, that one
- 45:05kind of promising thing for slider is that Detroit's power
- 45:08play kind of picked up where they left off last year.
- 45:11So he's on a much better power play than whatever mess is going
- 45:14on in Buffalo. So that I'll give to Cider, but
- 45:18Cider also seemingly forgot out of hit and block going into this
- 45:22season. Obviously it's only been three
- 45:23games. Bully and bullying is only.
- 45:25Yeah, yeah. So we'll see.
- 45:28But I think I still gotta go, Darlene.
- 45:30Yeah, I'm a little worried by the lack of Siders backcast.
- 45:34To tell you the truth, the peripheral categories are
- 45:36looking a little dicey. It's a small sample size it
- 45:39things can change, but it's a little SUS.
- 45:43And then because Delias already had really good peripheral
- 45:47categories, Annie has a higher point ceiling.
- 45:49This is an easy still love cider.
- 45:51I'm definitely not panicking, but it's more just that Delians
- 45:55already would have been higher for me before the year started,
- 45:58so it's just a continuation of that.
- 46:02Fair enough, alright #3 Tom Wilson or Clayton Keller?
- 46:09Wow, that's a I know Utah's been bad, but I'm still I'm.
- 46:13Still in Bangor. Talking banger leagues, I still
- 46:19think Keller could put up like 100 points.
- 46:21Not getting 100, but I think he can.
- 46:24He's obviously going to get above a point per game.
- 46:26Like I think he's getting he's 90 and 100.
- 46:28He has started extremely slow with like all the other Utah
- 46:31assets and he's not even shooting, which is supposed to
- 46:34be his bread and butter. I I will say that is concerning
- 46:36seeing the like 3 games they played and he's only got one
- 46:38shot each game. That's you want him to be that
- 46:41three shots a game elite minimum as well.
- 46:44Yeah. So stuff I don't want to just
- 46:47keep leaning with my my pre pre draft rankings right because
- 46:51things do change, but it's just such a small sample size.
- 46:54Wilson is just a completely kind of Unicorn archetype though for
- 46:58bangers leagues, so I'm just not too concerned about Utah just
- 47:03yet. To me, they're all kind of by
- 47:04laws, so I'm still gonna go with Keller, but.
- 47:06If you have Tom Wilson, will you trade him for Clayton Keller in
- 47:09a banger league? It would depend on the rest of
- 47:12like my mother's construction of my team, but if I think I could
- 47:16afford, if I needed points and I thought I was like doing well in
- 47:20Bangor Cats, like if I wanna do that kind of switch, I think
- 47:23value wise like a colour should be better.
- 47:26Do you think you get colour plus?
- 47:29No, depends how much the the owners panicking.
- 47:31OK. I would do that trade.
- 47:33I'd rather killer. He is just gonna end up with
- 47:36more points significantly, like 30 more points.
- 47:40And I think that that really makes a big difference.
- 47:43So he's a great Bylo friendly. And yeah, whereas Wilson Wilson
- 47:49is a Unicorn. You kind of know what you're
- 47:51getting though, you know? I also think he's getting less
- 47:54points than he did last year. Yeah, his bangers will still be
- 47:57amazing though. Yeah.
- 47:59So yeah, my my answer is killer on this one.
- 48:01So we have so far. I know.
- 48:03Josh and I are on the hearing, but Kevin, Kevin voted boldy.
- 48:08Then I go Dolly, right? Yeah, OK.
- 48:11And then? Kevin's definitely saying
- 48:12Wilson. I I think I'd take Wilson in a
- 48:15banger league. Kevin loves Wilson.
- 48:17I do, especially if you're ugly has pins like I feel like that's
- 48:20just. Completely that's.
- 48:21Changes, changes. Like if there's no Pimms in in
- 48:23in your league then 100% colour. Yeah, I agree.
- 48:27All right, let's go to the next two.
- 48:28Goalies Anthony Stolarz or Linus Almark.
- 48:33Big Linus. I'm going to big squishy
- 48:36leanness. I'm just, I'm very hot.
- 48:38I know he had such an awful start so far.
- 48:42You don't think it's a good goalie and they don't really
- 48:45offering him. Yeah, they they really hate him.
- 48:48Definitely doesn't help losing your team captain.
- 48:50So that's not gonna be fun for scholars.
- 48:53The biggest thing to me is the uncertainty with Joseph Wall.
- 48:56I still think Wall comes back, let's say in a month or two.
- 49:00And even if that you get like half or, you know, 2/3 of a
- 49:05season of Stolarz without wall there Walls in my mind back for
- 49:09fantasy playoffs for sure. And at that point you've got
- 49:11kind of like that one A1B. Obviously Stars is the 1A, but I
- 49:14don't want. I'd rather have a sort of like a
- 49:17guaranteed starter in Hallmark come playoff time.
- 49:20This is a really good one, to be honest, because initially I my
- 49:26instinct was just to say Omark because Stolarz has never
- 49:29shouldered a #1 role in his entire career.
- 49:33And I also happen to like the Senators more than than the
- 49:37Leaves in many ways. But that's the Chuck injury puts
- 49:39a pretty, pretty large asterisk next to that.
- 49:43So I mean, Ottawa lost the truck last season and they won more
- 49:46games than they lost while he was out.
- 49:48So I wouldn't say it's like a complete game changer.
- 49:50Obviously he's the captain of the team and it's more than just
- 49:52the production on the ice. But I feel like there's Tina can
- 49:56still pull through and they have other guys that are going to be
- 50:00given the opportunity to step up.
- 50:01So I'm not gonna say like completely falling off.
- 50:03Yeah, when you when you miss a lot of the season though,
- 50:06especially as a goalie, it's a really tough to come back from
- 50:10that. And right now, you know, they
- 50:12got Primo and Scholars, and Primo actually was quite the
- 50:16stud in the age shall if he can. He's always but the NHL.
- 50:20Just sucks in the NHL. Yeah, no, for sure.
- 50:22And it's not like the leaves are an easier market to play in
- 50:24front of the. House, right?
- 50:26So that's one thing to consider. Look, I just don't know if I'm
- 50:30gonna still go with Hallmark because stores has never really
- 50:34been a true #1 and I think it's he has the opportunity to be.
- 50:39But all Mark is a much safer route to that.
- 50:43But it's. Cool, you have dollars right
- 50:44now, You could trade them for all Mark.
- 50:46I think so too, for sure. But I'd rather, yeah, I'd rather
- 50:52keep. I'd rather have all.
- 50:53Mark, what about you? You have another hallmark as
- 50:56well. I mean, I don't, I don't think
- 50:58so large the typical that's that's immune to bad games
- 51:01either. And we never know.
- 51:05How he had some bad games, he's already had some started off
- 51:07super well or anything. Omar 2 right?
- 51:09So if it just depends who which manager is tilting more?
- 51:13Yeah, exactly. Alright, last one and the.
- 51:16Next one is real. I can't believe this, this is
- 51:19crazy. Or Robert Thomas.
- 51:23That's enough bangers league. No the disrespect.
- 51:28Yeah, it's definitely Robert Thomas.
- 51:32Is that definitely Robert Thomas?
- 51:34OK, I know why you're saying that.
- 51:36Stay tuned for the Bi Lo Sell High episode.
- 51:38Come on. No spoilers, but come on, like
- 51:41Robert Thomas has the Robert Thomas can end up with double as
- 51:45many points as Lynn Home. Yeah, I.
- 51:48Think, I think what we expect. Lyndon's very sick.
- 51:51I really like him This year I'm. Thinking might be steal of the
- 51:54draft. He definitely, I think it's
- 51:56looking like, I mean, he, he got taken like a few rounds earlier
- 51:59than I was comfortable taking him, but he's obviously showing
- 52:01that he's really, really good this year.
- 52:03It's just I'm not sold on Boston being able to maintain this year
- 52:06long and Robert Thomas literally year after year, you know, he's
- 52:11like over a point per game. But even with.
- 52:13Landon, he's having coverage. He's currently averaging less
- 52:16than one shot a game. Yeah, we know.
- 52:19It's not surprising for him because he usually gets just
- 52:21under two shots a game. Yeah, the.
- 52:24Plane gets more face off, wins more, hits more shots and is
- 52:30currently just playing on a team with Pasternak who is just going
- 52:34nuts. So if the logic that we had last
- 52:38season just comes to fruition this year, what's the maybe we
- 52:42were just one year too early and they they needed a year of
- 52:45chemistry to get things going? Last year.
- 52:48Like it's not impossible. We've seen it.
- 52:49Lindholm be in the lead centre in this league before, like when
- 52:51he was on Calgary, he was. Yeah, there was only once.
- 52:53It wasn't like the entire, it was one season on Calgary and it
- 52:56was when you were playing with the talented.
- 52:57So he's playing with Chuck and Pedro.
- 52:58Yeah, exactly. Exactly and also Thomas had more
- 53:01shots per game than Lynn home last year.
- 53:03I know it's looking good. He could still be the steal of
- 53:07the draft. Will talk about it more on our
- 53:08brothers Ohio episode but it's it's not there for.
- 53:12Me and give us some lower centres to lower somewhere.
- 53:15OK. Yeah.
- 53:16Like that would be ranked higher than home, but that Lindhome,
- 53:19yeah, that was. Definitely a fair question
- 53:21though cause he's been a stunt. But I just think you.
- 53:23Should learn one more before but.
- 53:26No, but horror has been nuts. Also to start the.
- 53:28Year, I mean, have you guys sure?
- 53:30He's acting like six shots and like 15 faceoff wins, so I'm
- 53:33going horror fat. OK, Lynn home or Rupe hints?
- 53:40I you know what? Give me Lynn home.
- 53:41I'm not. I'm not actually a hint fan.
- 53:44Sure, maybe that's crazy, but that's a that's a good one.
- 53:48Yeah, same. I I don't love hints.
- 53:51Hmm. All right, one more than we wrap
- 53:53it up. OK, Lindholm or Nazim Kadri.
- 54:01I could. That's fair.
- 54:02OK. Golan home on that one.
- 54:05I think I still gotta go country cause I think he's an elite
- 54:07shooter and I think I don't think when he's gonna keep up
- 54:10the shots. I see Lynn home averaging like
- 54:121.7 shots and Kadri being like 3.5 so.
- 54:14Like I would not be surprised if Lindholm averages over two
- 54:17shots. But I think the biggest thing
- 54:18Lindholm is that like laser, his points sucked.
- 54:21I think this year his points floor could be way higher.
- 54:23I think he can easily be like a .75 centre.
- 54:26I I could see that, yeah. I don't think it's crazy at all.
- 54:28I really think that he's gonna have a good year, but Kaji's
- 54:32going to be, I think, his floors.
- 54:34And he's going to have as well. Yeah, no, I I really like Lynn
- 54:39home. Like I said, I would take him
- 54:40over some of the guys you mentioned but but I still like
- 54:42country a lot. Yeah, come playoff time, who you
- 54:44would rather have on your roster?
- 54:47Come playoff. Time Liasson, Lincoln, Robert
- 54:49Thomas. I don't know when you have that
- 54:51two week game week in the playoffs.
- 54:53No, I promise. I do love that 444 schedule from
- 54:56Boston. But yeah, definitely Thomas.
- 54:59If it was four games of Lindholm or two games of Thomas, give me
- 55:01Lynn home. Yeah, that's one of the three
- 55:04weeks. It's really.
