- 1:29Speaker 5: my fault.
- 1:29Speaker 3: No, but okay, So I so for everybody listening to
- 1:33Speaker 3: the podcast, I I have loved you forever, like and
- 1:38Speaker 3: I don't even know how. I don't even know if
- 1:39Speaker 3: I told you this, but count hardly. Wait was one
- 1:41Speaker 3: of my It's like one of my all time favorite movies.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I didn't know that ever ever, Like I loved it,
- 1:49Speaker 3: and so I will never forget. There was like a
- 1:50Speaker 3: day that you were listening to KISFM the Morning Show
- 1:53Speaker 3: and you posted something on Instagram and I was like,
- 1:54Speaker 3: oh my gosh. I was like, Jennifer love Hewitt knows
- 1:57Speaker 3: my name. And then after that, yeah, somehow we became
- 2:01Speaker 3: like Instagram besties.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Yep.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And I remember when my now fiance and I broke up,
- 2:09Speaker 3: you sent me like a Valentine's Day like balloon bouquet
- 2:13Speaker 3: and like she was just like so sweet, and so
- 2:15Speaker 3: I really truly felt like we were like this internet besties.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Well, I felt really close to you because they did
- 2:23Speaker 1: listen to the Morning Show, and so I was always
- 2:24Speaker 1: like following along with what was happening with all of
- 2:27Speaker 1: you guys, right, and so I knew about the relationship
- 2:30Speaker 1: and like I think it was listening like the first
- 2:32Speaker 1: time they said his name and like, you know whatever.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So so then when I saw that you had your
- 2:37Speaker 1: heart broke, and I was like, oh no, this cannot happen.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Like she gets me through my mornings, I have to
- 2:42Speaker 5: get her through this. So that's why I sent you
- 2:43Speaker 5: the stuff. And then it was it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Like meant so much to me that you reached back
- 2:47Speaker 1: out and yeah, I think the world of view and
- 2:50Speaker 1: you know that. And I'm really excited that you're you're
- 2:53Speaker 1: getting married soon and all of that.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Thank you. Yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 2: She posted the like the Valentine's Day thing and she
- 3:00Speaker 2: said Jennifer Love Hewett and I'm like the Jennifer.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Love humans say Valentype's Day.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Okay, Like what.
- 3:09Speaker 3: But you really you kind of are like I feel
- 3:11Speaker 3: like when I think about the holidays, like every holiday,
- 3:14Speaker 3: I think of you, like I feel like you're like
- 3:16Speaker 3: the fairy godmothers a lot.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Thank you so much. That is how it should be.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Do you celebrate every Are you like one of those
- 3:24Speaker 2: people who every holiday there's a celebration around it.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Oh yeah yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 1: In my in my book, I actually have like the
- 3:31Speaker 1: holiday Junkie calendar and it shows that for me, there's
- 3:34Speaker 1: like thirty five different holidays, whereas normal people just celebrate
- 3:37Speaker 1: like five a year.
- 3:39Speaker 5: I'm like, it's Thursday, and today it's National Donut Day.
- 3:42Speaker 5: We should have a party. Today's actually National Christmas Cookie Day.
- 3:46Speaker 5: I don't know if you guys know that.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so celebrate, do something, Go to Susie's Cakes and
- 3:51Speaker 1: get a cookie or something on me.
- 3:53Speaker 5: It'll be really fun. But but yeah, no, I love
- 3:57Speaker 5: celebrating all things.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I mean, we're only here once, and we're here for
- 4:00Speaker 1: you know, nobody knows how long, so we might as
- 4:03Speaker 1: well be having the best time while doing it.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Well, I mean you just let us write into talking
- 4:08Speaker 2: about your book what was the inspiration because it's basically
- 4:12Speaker 2: like you talking about celebrating holidays and moments of life,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and what was the inspiration behind it.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So I lost my mom almost thirteen, Well, I'll be
- 4:23Speaker 1: thirteen years ago in June, and it was she was sick,
- 4:27Speaker 1: but it was not expected that she would go that quickly.
- 4:30Speaker 5: We lived across the street from each other.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We had breakfast together every morning, dinner together every night
- 4:34Speaker 1: when I wasn't working or doing things, and she was.
- 4:38Speaker 5: My absolute world.
- 4:39Speaker 1: But she was also the most magical person I knew
- 4:42Speaker 1: on the planet. And when she passed, I remember, oddly,
- 4:48Speaker 1: in like the first forty eight hours, my very first
- 4:50Speaker 1: thought was, well, that's it. I will never know anything
- 4:53Speaker 1: magical ever again, like it's gone. And so quickly after
- 4:58Speaker 1: she passed and sort of like putting my life back
- 5:00Speaker 1: together and all of that, I found out that I
- 5:01Speaker 1: was pregnant with our daughter, and my husband and I
- 5:04Speaker 1: got married, and I realized that I couldn't sit our
- 5:08Speaker 1: first Christmas in the grief that I was feeling when
- 5:11Speaker 1: I had to do something for my new family. And
- 5:14Speaker 1: so it struck me that I was left that magic
- 5:18Speaker 1: from her and that I could be magical. I just
- 5:20Speaker 1: had to find it, you know, within myself. And so
- 5:22Speaker 1: that's why the book is called Inheriting Magic. And so
- 5:25Speaker 1: I kind of started really embracing the holidays in like
- 5:29Speaker 1: an all new way, and it was really to help
- 5:31Speaker 1: me in those first few years of grief. But from
- 5:35Speaker 1: it became, I like found who I really am and
- 5:40Speaker 1: I just was so happy and it sort of kind
- 5:44Speaker 1: of reached out to people around us and friends, and
- 5:46Speaker 1: so I became the holiday junkie and that's sort of
- 5:50Speaker 1: you know how it all happened, So it was it
- 5:52Speaker 1: was a blessing in disguise.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I love the name inheriting magic. That is just it's
- 5:57Speaker 2: so like whimsical and yeah, thank you. Can you tell,
- 6:01Speaker 2: I mean, if you feel comfortable talking about it, because
- 6:03Speaker 2: I feel like grief is such a complicated, beautiful, devastating
- 6:10Speaker 2: thing that we go through, and like every everyone will
- 6:12Speaker 2: eventually go through a grief grieving over someone it's been
- 6:16Speaker 2: how so you said in twenty twelve is when it happened.
- 6:20Speaker 2: So what is that feeling now, like after this time
- 6:22Speaker 2: has passed and you have your own family, Like, what,
- 6:24Speaker 2: how did would you describe that?
- 6:27Speaker 5: Well?
- 6:27Speaker 1: I cried at least six times in the last four
- 6:30Speaker 1: days because it's Christmas and I wish she was here.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And I dropped an ornament of hers a couple of
- 6:34Speaker 1: days ago when I was decorated and was like somebody had,
- 6:38Speaker 1: you know, shattered my heart on the floor. My kids
- 6:40Speaker 1: were like, a Mommy, are you good? Like I finally
- 6:42Speaker 1: back in a minute. So you know, it ebbs and
- 6:45Speaker 1: it flows and it comes and you know in waves,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I like to say, but uh, doing the book and
- 6:53Speaker 1: doing the movie and sort of all the stuff that
- 6:54Speaker 1: I've done this year that kind of is in her
- 6:57Speaker 1: honor has oddly been really helpful and sort of like
- 7:02Speaker 1: letting go of new grief that has, you know, kind
- 7:05Speaker 1: of come up later. And I've felt really close to
- 7:09Speaker 1: her in this process. It's been really weird to talk
- 7:12Speaker 1: about her every day while doing press and stuff for
- 7:15Speaker 1: all of this, and at the end end of the day.
- 7:18Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, yeah, that's my mom, Like she's just
- 7:20Speaker 5: not here. This is so wet.
- 7:21Speaker 1: So it's been like very emotional, but it's also been
- 7:24Speaker 1: really beautiful to kind of honor her. And when I
- 7:27Speaker 1: started writing the book, I originally started writing it just
- 7:30Speaker 1: because I realized after she passed I never said anything
- 7:33Speaker 1: about her, and I think it's just because I didn't
- 7:36Speaker 1: have the words necessarily yet, and so these, you know,
- 7:40Speaker 1: that's kind of this is it. This is These are
- 7:43Speaker 1: my thoughts and feelings on it.
- 7:45Speaker 4: It's so special. It is really such a.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Special way to honor your mom and her memory and
- 7:50Speaker 2: the person that she was, but also the person that
- 7:53Speaker 2: she created in you. And like the memories and traditions.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Did you find that, like while you were doing the
- 7:58Speaker 2: book that you lean towards doing her traditions like with
- 8:03Speaker 2: your kids or have you Has it been a process
- 8:05Speaker 2: of finding your own traditions and creating them for your
- 8:08Speaker 2: kids and your family.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yeah, we do some, We do little.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I mean, it's funny my mom and I were like
- 8:13Speaker 1: very much alike and then not alike in so many
- 8:16Speaker 1: other ways, so I think it's Yeah, I do little.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Things to honor her.
- 8:21Speaker 1: The book and and sort of the things that I
- 8:23Speaker 1: talk about it in it, those were all to sort of,
- 8:27Speaker 1: you know, the little things that I do about her
- 8:29Speaker 1: are to really keep her alive for my kids, because
- 8:31Speaker 1: they never got to meet her, and so I want
- 8:33Speaker 1: her to I want them to feel like she's still
- 8:36Speaker 1: an active part of their life.
- 8:38Speaker 5: And they do, which is beautiful.
- 8:39Speaker 1: They'll bring her up to me all the time or
- 8:41Speaker 1: be like, oh, we saw it helping birds today. We
- 8:42Speaker 1: know Mimi was with us on the you know, playground
- 8:44Speaker 1: or whatever, and so that means a lot to me.
- 8:47Speaker 1: But yeah, I've also left space to sort of find
- 8:50Speaker 1: my own with my husband or you know things his
- 8:54Speaker 1: family does that kind of thing.
- 8:56Speaker 5: So it's sort of a mixture I lend. Yeah, which
- 8:59Speaker 5: is important.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, speaking of your husband, you he stars in your
- 9:06Speaker 3: so you have.
- 9:06Speaker 4: First of all, you have this.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Book, you have a movie, you have music. I mean,
- 9:10Speaker 3: you have an full other show. Like, you have so
- 9:14Speaker 3: much going on. So I would like to talk about
- 9:16Speaker 3: the timetable of like when you get all this stuff done,
- 9:18Speaker 3: because it just seems like a lot is on your
- 9:21Speaker 3: plate right now.
- 9:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:23Speaker 3: But the movie, so you're starring in it, you're directing it.
- 9:27Speaker 3: How did this all come about? And when did it
- 9:29Speaker 3: come about? And then why did you choose your husband
- 9:31Speaker 3: to start it with you?
- 9:34Speaker 1: So the movie, well, the movie in the book, first
- 9:38Speaker 1: of all, weren't supposed to happen together.
- 9:40Speaker 5: The book sort of.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Happened, and then I went and pitched the movie. They
- 9:44Speaker 1: bought the movie, and I didn't know when the movie
- 9:46Speaker 1: was going to be made. So I do feel like
- 9:49Speaker 1: the fact that the book comes out on the tenth
- 9:51Speaker 1: and the movie airs the fourteenth is my mother, Like
- 9:54Speaker 1: she was very much a timing person, and I do
- 9:58Speaker 1: feel like somehow she has also a great business person,
- 10:01Speaker 1: and I feel like she's sort of come together and gone, no, no, no,
- 10:03Speaker 1: if we're gonna honor me, let's honor me all in
- 10:05Speaker 1: the same week, and like, let's get this done.
- 10:07Speaker 5: People.
- 10:07Speaker 1: So I really feel like everyone around me has been like,
- 10:10Speaker 1: how did this happen? I'm like, it wasn't me, Like
- 10:12Speaker 1: it's you know, someone else, So I love that's that
- 10:16Speaker 1: sort of happened. I pitched the movie not knowing if
- 10:19Speaker 1: they would want to do a grief Christmas movie because
- 10:22Speaker 1: there aren't a lot of those. But I do know
- 10:24Speaker 1: that there are a lot of people at Christmas that
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't always feel joy. Sometimes they feel you know, broken hearted.
- 10:31Speaker 1: It can be grief in all the different ways. Like
- 10:32Speaker 1: my husband's character in the movie has grief because he
- 10:35Speaker 1: was left at the altar around Christmas.
- 10:38Speaker 5: So there's lots of different parts of grief.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But I kind of wanted to do a movie that
- 10:42Speaker 1: felt like we were representing all the feelings of the holidays,
- 10:45Speaker 1: not just you know, the super happy ones. And they
- 10:49Speaker 1: loved it and so they were like, great, let's do it.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So we we rush really because we were like, let's
- 10:55Speaker 1: just do it now.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I was filming nine one one. I had fifteen days
- 10:59Speaker 5: to shoot the movie.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I was in prep for the movie while I was
- 11:03Speaker 1: finishing last season of nine one one.
- 11:05Speaker 5: I originally wasn't supposed.
- 11:06Speaker 1: To direct it, but we got into it and it
- 11:09Speaker 1: was really my story, and I knew so much about
- 11:11Speaker 1: it and had sort of co written it, like not
- 11:14Speaker 1: pen to paper written that that was written by somebody else,
- 11:16Speaker 1: but just the idea I put together myself. And they
- 11:20Speaker 1: were like, you know, so who do you want to
- 11:22Speaker 1: direct it? And I was I just threw it out like.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Hoping that it would stick.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And I was like, well, I could do it, and
- 11:28Speaker 1: they were like, great, that sounds awesome.
- 11:29Speaker 5: We were hoping you'd say that, and I was like,
- 11:31Speaker 5: oh crash. I had now to direct this movie really quickly.
- 11:36Speaker 1: And Brian and I, my husband, had met on a
- 11:39Speaker 1: lifetime show called The Client.
- 11:40Speaker 3: List, which first of all was soffy. It was such
- 11:45Speaker 3: a good job, Honey, seasons was it?
- 11:47Speaker 5: It was only one tragic I couldn't be make it anymore.
- 11:51Speaker 3: It was tragic that I was only one season. If
- 11:54Speaker 3: there was any like that show, I watched it.
- 11:57Speaker 4: I don't remember what year that was.
- 11:58Speaker 5: I'm so glad it was. Yeah, it was really fun.
- 12:02Speaker 5: It was a lot that show was. I was.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I could never eat anything for months while it was
- 12:07Speaker 1: on that. She was just like meat and Laingerie just
- 12:09Speaker 1: walking around the crew like.
- 12:10Speaker 5: The most desensitized crew ever.
- 12:13Speaker 6: There.
- 12:13Speaker 5: I was like, you know, I'm eating a sandwich and
- 12:15Speaker 5: broad panties with you right now, and they're like, nope,
- 12:17Speaker 5: didn't even notice.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Maybe it was wild, But so my husband and I
- 12:21Speaker 1: had met there. So someone at Lifetimes.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Said why are we not why are we not using
- 12:26Speaker 5: Brian in this movie? And I was like, well, I
- 12:30Speaker 5: don't know. I was like, he doesn't really watch Christmas
- 12:32Speaker 5: movies that much. I was like, he likes Christmas, loves Christmas, but.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Like he's not like he doesn't watch forty you know,
- 12:38Speaker 1: Christmas movies a year like I do, and cry and
- 12:40Speaker 1: eat the chocolate.
- 12:41Speaker 5: And do all the things. And they're like, well, we
- 12:43Speaker 5: think he'd be really great for this. So I went
- 12:45Speaker 5: in the kitchen and I was like, do you want
- 12:47Speaker 5: to be.
- 12:47Speaker 4: In the movie?
- 12:47Speaker 5: And he was like, I would love to be in
- 12:48Speaker 5: the movie.
- 12:49Speaker 1: And I said, really, this is great, and I just
- 12:51Speaker 1: don't know why it like never before that.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Moment was like the thing that we were going to do.
- 12:58Speaker 1: But again, it's like the directing and that's sort of
- 13:00Speaker 1: came together at the very last minute.
- 13:02Speaker 5: And then I mean, of course I wanted him to
- 13:05Speaker 5: be in it, but again I just he kind of plays.
- 13:08Speaker 1: More serious characters normally, So I didn't know if you'd
- 13:10Speaker 1: like want to be in the Holiday junkie movie, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: with me, But he did and it was great, and
- 13:16Speaker 1: because it honors my mom, it was obviously it's so
- 13:18Speaker 1: nice to.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Have him and my kids are in it. She had
- 13:21Speaker 5: the whole family affair.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Wow, was this the first time you directed your husband?
- 13:44Speaker 5: I directed him on the client list?
- 13:45Speaker 4: Oh you did?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but it was nice. You know, it's nice
- 13:50Speaker 1: when you can like be bossy and they can't get
- 13:52Speaker 1: maddie because it's your job.
- 13:53Speaker 3: But is that like your dynamic when you're at home too,
- 13:56Speaker 3: or is it like pretty equal partnership at home?
- 14:00Speaker 5: It depends on the day.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes I'm bossier than maybe I should be. But
- 14:07Speaker 1: I will say the thing that impressed me about him
- 14:10Speaker 1: the most when we were dating is I was like this,
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know, like, if we're gonna kids, weren't get married,
- 14:16Speaker 1: Like it has to be equal. I don't want to
- 14:17Speaker 1: be like the one person doing all the things or
- 14:20Speaker 1: you feel like we have to do and he is.
- 14:22Speaker 5: He is like the most.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Fifty to fifty guy ever, Like he is in parenting,
- 14:27Speaker 1: in life and work and like all things and it's
- 14:30Speaker 1: really it's really nice.
- 14:32Speaker 4: I love that.
- 14:33Speaker 2: But I always feel that way too, Like I feel
- 14:35Speaker 2: like so many people are like, oh, I want to
- 14:37Speaker 2: have kids, I want to have a family, and it's like,
- 14:38Speaker 2: if you don't have a partner who's like on board
- 14:41Speaker 2: to do that, split that with you.
- 14:43Speaker 4: It's tough.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's just like a lot of people, like
- 14:46Speaker 3: I know people who like don't because like they don't
- 14:50Speaker 3: want their husband to wake up and the baby wakes up,
- 14:52Speaker 3: so they like sleep in a separate room and they're
- 14:54Speaker 3: doing all that. It's like, yeah, so it's not it's
- 14:57Speaker 3: not everybody does this equal that's right.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Thing.
- 15:00Speaker 4: It's nice. It's nice to hear these happy stories. Did
- 15:04Speaker 4: y'all start dating?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Like, did y'all get romantically involved while you were filming
- 15:07Speaker 2: the Client List?
- 15:09Speaker 5: We did?
- 15:10Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 15:14Speaker 1: I mean, great way to meet a guy in your
- 15:16Speaker 1: broad panty.
- 15:18Speaker 4: It's like exposure therapy. You're just like, there it is.
- 15:22Speaker 5: You want some of this?
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Well I was leading into another question with that.
- 15:28Speaker 4: I wasn't just trying to put you on the spot.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I was just wondering if it was like y'all developed
- 15:34Speaker 2: a relationship and then dated after if it was like
- 15:36Speaker 2: while y'all were filming it happened. Because I'm curious because
- 15:39Speaker 2: you've been in so You've played so many roles and
- 15:41Speaker 2: been in shows and movies with so many different actors, Like,
- 15:45Speaker 2: what was it about him where it felt like it
- 15:48Speaker 2: developed a romantic Like was it just you met the
- 15:50Speaker 2: right person at the right time.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Well, so here here's the thing that I don't think
- 15:55Speaker 1: I've ever actually told the story publicly.
- 15:57Speaker 5: So this little Brian's gonna love us. We were actually set.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Up on a date a year and a half prior
- 16:04Speaker 1: to him getting cast on the show.
- 16:06Speaker 5: I was there because.
- 16:07Speaker 1: It was a premiere party for something that I had done,
- 16:10Speaker 1: and he did not show up.
- 16:11Speaker 5: That night, and I always thought, oh that guy stood
- 16:16Speaker 5: me up.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Well now having known my husband and we just celebrated
- 16:19Speaker 1: eleven years of marriage, he literally doesn't get in traffic,
- 16:22Speaker 1: like if he doesn't have to. And so the reason
- 16:25Speaker 1: he didn't show up that night is because the event
- 16:27Speaker 1: was like really far away from where he lived and
- 16:29Speaker 1: he was not.
- 16:30Speaker 5: About to get in traffic.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He also did not know that it was me he
- 16:33Speaker 1: was meeting, but I knew that it was him, and
- 16:36Speaker 1: so when we were on the set, one day during
- 16:39Speaker 1: the client list, I was like, there's like I, yes,
- 16:42Speaker 1: he's an actor, but I was like, something about him
- 16:44Speaker 1: is so familiar.
- 16:46Speaker 5: And so I went through my phone and I had.
- 16:49Speaker 1: A picture of him like a creeper that the person
- 16:52Speaker 1: who was going to set us up had sent me.
- 16:55Speaker 5: And I walked right over to him.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I did, right, So I walked right over to him
- 16:59Speaker 1: and I was like, excuse me, sir.
- 17:01Speaker 5: I was like, you owe me a date because a
- 17:04Speaker 5: year and a half. And he was like, what are
- 17:05Speaker 5: you talking about? Lion tunes? He was like, what is
- 17:08Speaker 5: going on?
- 17:09Speaker 1: So I explained the whole story to so it like
- 17:11Speaker 1: gave me this like opening flirt moment, which was awesome
- 17:15Speaker 1: because I'm a terrible flirter, and so I know, like
- 17:18Speaker 1: the universe was like conspiring in my favor.
- 17:20Speaker 5: That day, and I was like, boom, I've got the thing.
- 17:23Speaker 1: But it never dawned on me that like he might
- 17:24Speaker 1: think I was psycho with a picture of him on
- 17:26Speaker 1: my phone, and so it just kind of like started
- 17:30Speaker 1: the conversation. But then he was like very hesitant to
- 17:33Speaker 1: date an actress or to doing that stuff.
- 17:36Speaker 5: So I really courted.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Him in the beginning and pulled out all my best moves,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and I.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Like that he was skeptical. I like that he was
- 17:45Speaker 3: a skeptical of that though. I like that, and I
- 17:47Speaker 3: say it, yeah, the.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Actresses are weird. I told you, well, you don't have
- 17:52Speaker 5: a good rap.
- 17:53Speaker 2: People like yeah, yeah, Also.
- 18:00Speaker 5: The whole thing should never have happened or worked.
- 18:03Speaker 3: But did.
- 18:04Speaker 4: But do you here we are?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Do you feel like it makes it easier going into
- 18:07Speaker 2: your job when you have roles where you have? I mean,
- 18:09Speaker 2: I feel like you've you've been in the industry for
- 18:11Speaker 2: so long that you going and like having romantic scenes
- 18:15Speaker 2: with a partner is probably You're probably just like another
- 18:18Speaker 2: day of work at this point.
- 18:19Speaker 4: But having a.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Partner who like understands it, do you feel like that's
- 18:23Speaker 2: been helpful or do you are you just kind of
- 18:25Speaker 2: like I don't even know that we.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Even talk about it or that he even thinks about it.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Really, I'm more the one that would think about it,
- 18:32Speaker 1: like if like if he is a kissing scene, I'm like,
- 18:34Speaker 1: you know, pacing at home, like are we good?
- 18:36Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I feel are we married happening?
- 18:40Speaker 5: You know what I mean? I'm like, I'm like, oh,
- 18:43Speaker 5: I didn't do anything today. Everything fine? Bye, Like vodka
- 18:47Speaker 5: in the cop.
- 18:49Speaker 2: You're like, so reminding him what was your scene that
- 18:52Speaker 2: you felt today?
- 18:53Speaker 5: Oh, that's so weird. I've got.
- 18:58Speaker 4: So validated.
- 19:00Speaker 5: I know, makeup in a gown. I'm like, oh, I go,
- 19:06Speaker 5: you know the worst.
- 19:09Speaker 4: Well, I feel better.
- 19:11Speaker 5: But he's like, whatever, go have fun. It's fine. So wow,
- 19:15Speaker 5: he's so normal and so good. Poor guy is stuck
- 19:19Speaker 5: with me.
- 19:20Speaker 4: No, that's very nice because Becca was.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I feel like less less this time around. But Becca's
- 19:26Speaker 3: girlfriend isn't in the industry too, and she's like, no.
- 19:28Speaker 5: I'm a big fan. I'm a big fan.
- 19:32Speaker 4: She'll freak out because today she was like, you.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Guys together could make me so happy. Okay.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I told her, I told her you were on the
- 19:39Speaker 2: podcast and she was like what, And I was like, yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 2: she'll be stunned to.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Hear tell her. Now, I'm that's very cool for me.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Think, Yeah, I have a really like I I do
- 19:50Speaker 2: have a hard time like with you know, just her
- 19:52Speaker 2: in the industry, and I've had to address and I've
- 19:55Speaker 2: always felt like, man, maybe if I was an actress
- 19:57Speaker 2: or I just got it. If I was in the industry,
- 19:59Speaker 2: I feel a little more calmbat. I feel validated that you.
- 20:03Speaker 5: I'm not very sird.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's another lip on a lip lip and you're.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Like, why are you doing that? I know it's weird.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I would have the hardest time with it too. I
- 20:14Speaker 3: like beca gave yourself grace because if I was watching that,
- 20:17Speaker 3: I would be doing the same thing.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like it's weird when there's two people
- 20:21Speaker 1: who are like, it's no big deal.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Yeah, Like it actually is a big Like it's a
- 20:25Speaker 5: mouth on a mouth, and then I'm kissing that mouth.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Later I've kissed that person too, and it's all weird.
- 20:29Speaker 5: Why are we doing this?
- 20:30Speaker 2: You know?
- 20:32Speaker 4: I'm speaking. So your family's in the movie. Their whole family,
- 20:35Speaker 4: your kids and everything are in the movie.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yes, are they wanting I'm just curious, are they interested
- 20:40Speaker 2: in pursuing this career?
- 20:42Speaker 4: And how do you feel about that?
- 20:45Speaker 5: My middle one not at all. He's all sports.
- 20:48Speaker 1: He had fun being in the movie, but he's like
- 20:49Speaker 1: a sports guy, doesn't.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Get it at all.
- 20:51Speaker 1: But I think he would love to do like stunts
- 20:55Speaker 1: in movies or something.
- 20:55Speaker 5: He's constantly throwing himself around. He's crazy and I love him.
- 20:59Speaker 5: My really wants to do it.
- 21:02Speaker 1: But she's like very unrealistic and that she's like, I
- 21:06Speaker 1: don't want to audition for anything.
- 21:07Speaker 5: You just want to like start a Disney show.
- 21:09Speaker 1: And I'm like, shame the same girl, same like I
- 21:13Speaker 1: get at it. So I think I don't know that
- 21:16Speaker 1: she understands like what really goes into it, which I
- 21:20Speaker 1: sort of love about her.
- 21:21Speaker 5: She's a whole vibe and I.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Just love her, so you know, we'll see what she
- 21:25Speaker 1: kind of just but she did get her sad card
- 21:27Speaker 1: on this movie at the same age that I got
- 21:30Speaker 1: my sag.
- 21:31Speaker 5: Card, so it was like very sweet and really cute.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And then our baby, our three year old, is like
- 21:37Speaker 1: he's gonna be He's gonna take over the whole universe.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I think he's I think he's the one honestly that
- 21:43Speaker 1: will like he's the most like I was when I
- 21:46Speaker 1: was a kid. Oh there is no oh yeah, he
- 21:49Speaker 1: just wants he'll perform in front of like fifty people
- 21:51Speaker 1: Tomorrow's three all yeah, and he can like dance and
- 21:57Speaker 1: he can he can like hold a tune and he
- 21:59Speaker 1: is like dynamic, and.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I think he's I'm gonna watch out for that one.
- 22:03Speaker 5: We'll see what happens.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But My daughter is also like, she's a really good actress,
- 22:07Speaker 1: So if she wants to do it, great, but I
- 22:09Speaker 1: just can't tell yet if she knows that, like there's
- 22:12Speaker 1: work involved.
- 22:14Speaker 4: And rejection and all, but now there's other stuff.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Yeah, But I feel like it's so crazy to me
- 22:20Speaker 3: to think that you've been doing this for as long
- 22:21Speaker 3: as you've been doing it, because like, I mean, it's
- 22:23Speaker 3: pretty rare to get into the industry at that age,
- 22:26Speaker 3: and she just like, I mean, it's just been like
- 22:29Speaker 3: project after project after project. What do you feel like
- 22:32Speaker 3: has been the biggest change in the industry. I'd say
- 22:35Speaker 3: over the last like ten years for you.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I mean social media for sure, in the good and
- 22:42Speaker 1: the bad, because I do think that there's both. I
- 22:46Speaker 1: mean I think a lot about like young actors now
- 22:50Speaker 1: and if I would have like even made it in
- 22:54Speaker 1: this time, if I was a young actor with like
- 22:56Speaker 1: social media and pop parazzi and all the things.
- 23:00Speaker 5: It's it's weird.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I mean, it's hard as an aging person who's been
- 23:04Speaker 1: in it forever who normally people like that's hard, let
- 23:07Speaker 1: alone a new person coming up who's like, wait, who
- 23:10Speaker 1: thinks what of me?
- 23:11Speaker 5: Today?
- 23:13Speaker 1: So it's it's a lot, and I think that it's different.
- 23:17Speaker 1: On the other side, I think that it's really cool
- 23:19Speaker 1: because like people who watch your projects feel like they
- 23:23Speaker 1: know you a little bit. You get to share more
- 23:25Speaker 1: about yourself. There isn't a lot of, like, you know,
- 23:28Speaker 1: people writing about who they think you are, like people
- 23:30Speaker 1: actually get to know who you are. But I think
- 23:34Speaker 1: that that's kind of cool. But I would say that's
- 23:37Speaker 1: a that's a really big difference for sure. And I
- 23:40Speaker 1: do love that everything like from the nineties is coming
- 23:42Speaker 1: back because the nineties was awesome, So I'm psyched about that.
- 24:05Speaker 3: I forget what it was, but there was something that
- 24:07Speaker 3: you did on social media a while ago. It was like,
- 24:09Speaker 3: oh no, was it like refrigerator talk or something?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, fridgerl like confessions because it's the best light
- 24:17Speaker 1: really light.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yeah, as I first like saw your personality and I
- 24:21Speaker 3: was like, she's so funny.
- 24:24Speaker 5: I love going to my refrigerator and doing stories. It's
- 24:26Speaker 5: great because you don't have to like light the thing.
- 24:29Speaker 4: No selfie light needed, Like you're already.
- 24:31Speaker 5: Eggs, get that light. Why don't you get.
- 24:33Speaker 4: That, Like you're already paying for the electricity? Why not?
- 24:39Speaker 5: Your preid apostle is very cold in there.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I do wonder when you were so growing up in
- 24:45Speaker 2: the industry, all you heard about was like if you magazines,
- 24:48Speaker 2: writing articles or whatever. Were there any misconceptions about you
- 24:52Speaker 2: that you like, now you're like, I wish I could
- 24:55Speaker 2: clear that up, or something that people thought about you
- 24:58Speaker 2: or said about you, or like how you were a
- 25:00Speaker 2: set or anything like that.
- 25:01Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, you know what. Honestly, I think the
- 25:03Speaker 5: biggest thing for me looking back.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Now that was so crazy is that I was like
- 25:08Speaker 1: this sexy person and.
- 25:12Speaker 5: I was always like to my mom, like have they
- 25:15Speaker 5: met me?
- 25:15Speaker 7: Like there was nothing like this is a nerd? Like
- 25:20Speaker 7: I was a nerd, you know. And I was like
- 25:23Speaker 7: unsure of myself and very insecure and firing it all
- 25:28Speaker 7: out and like you know all this and like, I mean,
- 25:32Speaker 7: I remember being on the cover of Maxim magazine at seventeen,
- 25:35Speaker 7: and I was so excited. I thought it was really cool.
- 25:38Speaker 7: I was their most clothed cover ever and I was
- 25:42Speaker 7: in like leather pants and a little like two top
- 25:44Speaker 7: thing or whatever.
- 25:45Speaker 1: And I remember going out and people being like like
- 25:48Speaker 1: this word sexy was always around, And then all my
- 25:51Speaker 1: interviews became about my boobs and like all this stuff,
- 25:54Speaker 1: and I remember thinking like, what is this? How did
- 25:57Speaker 1: this happen? And what is going on here? Because I'm
- 26:00Speaker 1: like feeding my cat and like eating pizza Hut and
- 26:04Speaker 1: you know, getting dumped by boys and like, I don't know,
- 26:07Speaker 1: like this.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Is these two things do not go together. So that
- 26:12Speaker 5: was the weirdest thing for me.
- 26:13Speaker 1: It's like I just became this sexy person to people
- 26:16Speaker 1: before I even really knew what sexy was.
- 26:19Speaker 5: So it was kind of odd.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I was thinking about that because I there's all the
- 26:23Speaker 2: always those interviews that pop up from like the early
- 26:26Speaker 2: two thousands and nineties where these interviewers were asking like
- 26:28Speaker 2: the craziest questions about the people's rawties and like the relationships.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Did you have any of those experience where you went
- 26:35Speaker 2: on a talk show and you were like, I can't
- 26:37Speaker 2: believe they're asking me this.
- 26:38Speaker 1: No, but like the amount of grown men who like
- 26:41Speaker 1: would just ask me in interviews on Nashtional television or whatever,
- 26:46Speaker 1: like about my boobs or like back at that now,
- 26:50Speaker 1: you would think, oh my god, that's so inappropriate, and
- 26:53Speaker 1: I would be seventeen, yeah, sixteen eighteen, like.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Yeah, there they all are.
- 26:59Speaker 6: Woo boo woop, know and like joking about it and
- 27:01Speaker 6: we would laugh and the whole audience would like laugh
- 27:03Speaker 6: about it, and no one would ever think that's a
- 27:06Speaker 6: teenage girl, like why is she having to talk about
- 27:09Speaker 6: this right now?
- 27:10Speaker 1: And I didn't think that at the time. It wasn't
- 27:12Speaker 1: until I got in my thirties that I was like,
- 27:15Speaker 1: hashtag in appropriate, All right, we should go back and
- 27:19Speaker 1: maybe look at that and you know, think of some things.
- 27:22Speaker 1: And really, when I watched the Britney Spears documentary, that
- 27:26Speaker 1: was like a huge light bulb for me because which
- 27:29Speaker 1: is very recent, right, it's not that long ago. And
- 27:32Speaker 1: I remember watching it and my husband announced hers and
- 27:35Speaker 1: he was like, you look freaked out, and I was like, honestly,
- 27:38Speaker 1: I was that, Like I had.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Those same moments and like, I guess.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I blacked it out, like I just never thought about
- 27:44Speaker 1: it until now. And again, no fault of their own,
- 27:48Speaker 1: like that was the time and people were allowed to
- 27:50Speaker 1: ask those things, and so I don't fault them at
- 27:53Speaker 1: all for it, but it was definitely different for sure.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's jarring.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It is.
- 27:59Speaker 4: It is so darring.
- 28:00Speaker 3: And you see like the just the little social clips
- 28:01Speaker 3: on TikTok and stuff.
- 28:02Speaker 5: It's like crazy.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so crazy.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Did you do you have any actor or actress that
- 28:08Speaker 2: you're like, if I could create my dream role around
- 28:13Speaker 2: this person that you think about, or do you have
- 28:16Speaker 2: anyone off the top of your head?
- 28:18Speaker 5: Oh my gosh. I mean I just watched The Holiday yesterday.
- 28:23Speaker 5: I said, probably say Kate Winslet.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Or I just watched it to Kate Winslet is.
- 28:29Speaker 5: I'm obsessed with her, everything about her.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Let's not forget about Jack Black and Jude Law.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I mean the four of them together.
- 28:36Speaker 4: I'm co I know the ladies were the star. Yeah, they.
- 28:42Speaker 5: Really were. Yes, Yeah, Oh my gosh.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I showed my daughter that movie for the first time
- 28:48Speaker 1: and now she's obsessed. We've watched it like twice in
- 28:50Speaker 1: the last three days. It's so good. But I feel
- 28:54Speaker 1: like Kate Winslet is just somebody that I just I
- 28:56Speaker 1: just love. I also feel like she has done such
- 28:59Speaker 1: a beautiful job of going from a younger actress too,
- 29:03Speaker 1: you know, an older not older, but like my age.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Old road I'm like older, Like she's younger than you.
- 29:13Speaker 1: But I feel like she's done a beautiful job of that, right,
- 29:16Speaker 1: and like, is aging in such a powerful, like beautiful
- 29:21Speaker 1: place with the things that she says in social media
- 29:23Speaker 1: and the way that she kind of handles herself and
- 29:25Speaker 1: she's just like she's just always.
- 29:27Speaker 5: Good and classy, and I don't know, I just I'm
- 29:31Speaker 5: obsessed with her.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I agree, I've been obsessed with her since Titanic, like
- 29:35Speaker 2: I have never not just been obsessed with her.
- 29:38Speaker 3: And you mentioned that the nineties are coming back and
- 29:41Speaker 3: everybody it's all of those things are have you ever
- 29:44Speaker 3: been approached to bring back anything from the past that
- 29:47Speaker 3: you were part of, Like, I know what you did
- 29:50Speaker 3: last summer, they're doing that reboot, Like have you been
- 29:53Speaker 3: approached to do any of these things? And would you say, yes.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I have been approached to do the new I know
- 29:58Speaker 1: what you did last summer, and I will be I'm
- 30:02Speaker 1: very close to having an answer on that. It is, Uh,
- 30:06Speaker 1: it's just been tricky with nine will one because the scheduling.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Of when they're shooting the movie and the scheduling of
- 30:12Speaker 5: when I have to.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Do it booked and busy.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it's sort of it's sort of a tricky one.
- 30:16Speaker 5: So we're waiting to see about that. I'm trying to say.
- 30:19Speaker 5: People talk all the time about doing like a Party
- 30:21Speaker 5: of five reunion, which would be really cool.
- 30:24Speaker 1: And people have asked to have Ghost Whisper comeback, which
- 30:27Speaker 1: I would do in a heartbeat.
- 30:29Speaker 5: I love doing that show. And people have talked about
- 30:30Speaker 5: the client list because no one wants to see me
- 30:33Speaker 5: in lacheride. I know I got three kids, Ladies, have
- 30:37Speaker 5: that done.
- 30:38Speaker 4: We're done there.
- 30:39Speaker 3: That show was gone too soon, Like, honestly, I agree,
- 30:42Speaker 3: I will stand on that hill forever, forever and ever.
- 30:45Speaker 3: But I did not hear you mentioned Can Hardly Wait.
- 30:48Speaker 1: So here's the thing I really want to do, the
