- 0:00Speaker 1: Bench with jacob hester and matt flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay here we go where the.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Dude they said i gotta come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of off the bench live from the raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: cane studio.
- 0:32Speaker 4: .
- 0:39Speaker 5: .
- 0:47Speaker 4: .
- 0:50Speaker 5: .
- 1:02Speaker 2: Hello.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Somebody.
- 1:04Speaker 2: What?
- 1:06Speaker 5: No.
- 1:09Speaker 2: No, stop.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I'm doing it to Davo.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I like it. He loves it.
- 1:15Speaker 6: We made this catch on. If the crowd starts doing that,
- 1:19Speaker 6: it's because of us.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Y'all realize it's the opposing crowd, right? Yeah. I mean,
- 1:28Speaker 2: it makes sense.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I don't know why they haven't done that.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Maybe they do do that.
- 1:32Speaker 7: Because they're not creative geniuses like we are.
- 1:34Speaker 3: That's a good point. We are on mid-market radio.
- 1:40Speaker 6: Some say we're better than MSJ in the country.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Were we number six?
- 1:44Speaker 7: It was either six or seven.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 1:46Speaker 3: It was six.
- 1:46Speaker 7: I think it was seven. No.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I think it was six.
- 1:50Speaker 3: It was seven the year before.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I think it was seven the year before.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Okay, then it was six.
- 1:53Speaker 8: And then Matt came on and we got six.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Dang, Matt.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Do you think we'll fall this year?
- 1:59Speaker 7: Why would we?
- 2:01Speaker 3: Fall to one.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Oh, got him. Got him.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 2:06Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 2:08Speaker 7: It'll be the two weeks the tripod was.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be that. That really makes it.
- 2:12Speaker 9: Our Olympic coverage was excellent.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard from a lot of people. Oh, you're
- 2:16Speaker 2: back on the show. Why? The tripod was.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Glenn was doing great.
- 2:20Speaker 3: It was so cool.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Man, we talked about so many things. All the things.
- 2:26Speaker 7: Things were talked about for sure.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Things were talked about.
- 2:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 9: Jake, you get to meet Nick Underhill today for the
- 2:32Speaker 9: first time.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I do. And then you'll be like, what.
- 2:37Speaker 3: In the hell?
- 2:37Speaker 2: What is happening? We haven't had, we have not had
- 2:43Speaker 2: Nick Underhill together. No. Since, hold on, let me look
- 2:46Speaker 2: at the calendar.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Was it June?
- 2:48Speaker 2: I want to make sure I get this right. It
- 2:49Speaker 2: wasn't June. It's six weeks minimum. It was July 21st.
- 2:54Speaker 9: Okay, so that's the, That's a day.
- 2:57Speaker 7: When was media days?
- 2:59Speaker 3: Were we in Tampa at that time?
- 3:00Speaker 2: July 14th. Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 7: But were you out for that? Or when? No, because
- 3:05Speaker 7: you were here. Never mind.
- 3:06Speaker 2: July 14th because.
- 3:08Speaker 3: July 14th what?
- 3:10Speaker 2: It's Tuesday. It's a Tuesday.
- 3:11Speaker 7: You left on a Wednesday.
- 3:13Speaker 8: Then we went to media day. Then I went to
- 3:16Speaker 8: Charger camp. And then I started the camp tour.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That's right.
- 3:19Speaker 8: And last Tuesday I went to the 18 deal. And
- 3:23Speaker 8: you're leaving this Tuesday to go to a pep rally.
- 3:26Speaker 6: Wait, okay, real quick because somebody's asking in the chat.
- 3:29Speaker 6: Did y'all fire Marler? I miss Marler Mondays. I forgot
- 3:33Speaker 6: to tell y'all this. I texted Chris yesterday because he
- 3:37Speaker 6: didn't show up. And I said, so is Marler Monday
- 3:39Speaker 6: just like not a thing anymore? And he was like, well,
- 3:43Speaker 6: nobody said anything, so I didn't want to invite myself.
- 3:45Speaker 6: And I said, why would I say something if it's
- 3:47Speaker 6: supposed to be weekly?
- 3:49Speaker 9: So he invited himself the first time.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Every week he invited himself.
- 3:53Speaker 6: I said, why would I say something if it's supposed
- 3:56Speaker 6: to be weekly? And then I was upstairs in his office,
- 3:59Speaker 6: and Hunt was there, and he said something about not
- 4:01Speaker 6: coming on anymore. I said, nobody told you not to
- 4:03Speaker 6: come on anymore. You decided yourself to just stop coming.
- 4:06Speaker 3: We've never invited you. You just showed up, and we... You.
- 4:09Speaker 7: Made an announcement on Twitter.
- 4:11Speaker 3: It was all cabs.
- 4:13Speaker 7: So I don't know.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Do we need to invite him?
- 4:15Speaker 7: I don't know what's up with. I'm not.
- 4:17Speaker 6: No, nobody text him and say, hey, he's either going
- 4:20Speaker 6: to show up like he's supposed to or he's not.
- 4:22Speaker 7: And that's not our problem. We know. He knows what
- 4:26Speaker 7: he's show up if you.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Really want to.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Oh, you're supposed to show up. We're not inviting you.
- 4:32Speaker 7: Why would I text you and say, hey, you coming on?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like we don't. Talk with Nick Underhill. He
- 4:37Speaker 2: just answers the phone.
- 4:38Speaker 7: At 9 a.m. Chef, we never text Chef.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Nope.
- 4:40Speaker 8: Doc just shows up because he knows that Wednesday at
- 4:43Speaker 8: 8 o'clock he's going to be here.
- 4:45Speaker 3: It's weird.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I guess we'll hold Marla's hand next week and walk
- 4:52Speaker 2: him down the stairs.
- 4:52Speaker 7: No, nobody text him next week. We'll see.
- 4:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Fair enough. We do have to do Weekend Winners, though.
- 4:59Speaker 7: Yeah, we didn't do it.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Because we didn't do that yesterday. And we still got
- 5:03Speaker 2: to do mailbags.
- 5:04Speaker 3: We haven't done our bold predictions either.
- 5:06Speaker 7: I want to do our bold predictions.
- 5:07Speaker 8: Bold predictions as well. I'm going to make you actually
- 5:11Speaker 8: do some work, and Flynn, you can go last because, well,
- 5:13Speaker 8: I know you. So we've talked a lot of LSU
- 5:16Speaker 8: offense because it's the superior side of the football.
- 5:20Speaker 2: We all know that.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Obviously.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I mean, obviously.
- 5:22Speaker 8: There's fans in the stands. Blake Baker's even said that
- 5:25Speaker 8: to me before. Not really, but you can imagine what
- 5:27Speaker 8: it would be like if he did.
- 5:29Speaker 3: He thought it.
- 5:30Speaker 8: So I'm going to go around the room, and I
- 5:33Speaker 8: want a name. I want a name of someone that
- 5:37Speaker 8: maybe Tiger fans don't know yet, that they're going to
- 5:41Speaker 8: know at the end of Saturday night's game when the
- 5:44Speaker 8: clock hits triple zero.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Tay-Tay, I know you got one in the chamber.
- 5:50Speaker 9: You want me to go now?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, don't take mine.
- 5:53Speaker 9: Chase Thomas. There's a chance that Chase Thomas actually starts
- 5:56Speaker 9: in safety over to Marcus Cooley. I know that sounds weird,
- 5:59Speaker 9: but he's taking a lot of one reps at practice, like,
- 6:02Speaker 9: Whether he starts, whether Cooley starts, Jace Thomas is going
- 6:05Speaker 9: to play a lot. Like, he's a local kid that
- 6:07Speaker 9: we kind of forgot about a little bit just because
- 6:09Speaker 9: he didn't play a ton his first year on campus
- 6:11Speaker 9: a year ago. And, I mean, look, Cooley, Spears, Ty Benefield.
- 6:14Speaker 9: There's hype over all three of those guys. I get it.
- 6:16Speaker 9: But Jace Thomas, this staff really likes him, and he's
- 6:19Speaker 9: going to make some plays.
- 6:20Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Alondra, you ready to go? You want me to go?
- 6:24Speaker 3: You go.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I am going to go Jordan Ross, edge rusher. Kind
- 6:30Speaker 2: of like I talked about yesterday.
- 6:32Speaker 8: With the running back position in Dylan Jones, when I
- 6:34Speaker 8: go straight to the source, and the source isn't other
- 6:37Speaker 8: media members, it's not even coaches, it's teammates. And when
- 6:41Speaker 8: I go to teammates to ask, give me the guy
- 6:44Speaker 8: who's been giving you trouble on the other side of
- 6:46Speaker 8: the football, well, it was Dylan Jones on offense, and
- 6:50Speaker 8: it was Jordan Ross on defense. I'm looking forward to
- 6:54Speaker 8: the edge rusher position looking completely different for LSU football
- 6:58Speaker 8: this year compared to where it was a year ago.
- 7:01Speaker 2: You brought in a couple of players.
- 7:03Speaker 8: Those players did not produce for you, so you went
- 7:05Speaker 8: and you got two more players. Now, the production level
- 7:08Speaker 8: of these two players compared to who you had a
- 7:10Speaker 8: year ago, it is way up.
- 7:12Speaker 2: The staff knows these players better.
- 7:14Speaker 8: They're two SEC players, so they've either played with them
- 7:17Speaker 8: or played against them. And I think he is going to,
- 7:21Speaker 8: by reports, he is going to be a difference maker
- 7:23Speaker 8: on the edge.
- 7:24Speaker 2: So I know he.
- 7:25Speaker 8: Doesn't wear an edge rusher number, number 29 out there,
- 7:28Speaker 8: but give me Jordan Ross.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Tag, you're in.
- 7:39Speaker 10: Okay, let's see here. I thought you started this thing
- 7:43Speaker 10: out by saying offensive player. Offense is superior side of
- 7:46Speaker 10: the ball.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Right, but that's all we've talked. We need to talk
- 7:49Speaker 2: a little bit more defense.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Oh, defense.
- 7:52Speaker 8: Because the offense has so many new players. It's got
- 7:55Speaker 8: all the new players. Defense has some, but not near
- 7:58Speaker 8: as many as offense.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Yep.
- 8:00Speaker 2: We know Blake Baker. We know the defensive staff.
- 8:03Speaker 8: So I do find ourselves, and I'm not just talking
- 8:05Speaker 8: about us, I'm talking about everyone that covers LSU, talking
- 8:09Speaker 8: more offense than defense because the defense has more questions
- 8:12Speaker 8: answered than the offense, but there is some exciting new players.
- 8:16Speaker 8: And so I was thinking, hey, let's go around the room,
- 8:18Speaker 8: let's give a defensive player that maybe is not a
- 8:22Speaker 8: household name like a Whit Weeks is, like a DJ
- 8:27Speaker 8: Pickett is.
- 8:28Speaker 2: They could be a freshman.
- 8:29Speaker 7: How about Deuce Gerald's?
- 8:30Speaker 2: There you go.
- 8:31Speaker 7: Defensive tackle out of Georgia.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Boom.
- 8:33Speaker 7: I think he'll have a great year.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I think he will as well.
- 8:35Speaker 7: He was six overall in Georgia.
- 8:39Speaker 2: He might not look the part.
- 8:42Speaker 8: Like when you walk out there, there's some people in
- 8:43Speaker 8: their uniform that look like Greek gods.
- 8:45Speaker 2: He might not look like that. But when the ball snapped,
- 8:48Speaker 2: my man is ready to go.
- 8:50Speaker 7: I don't need a D-tackle to look like that.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'm with you. Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 7: I don't need a D-tackle looking super funny.
- 8:54Speaker 2: He is a tree stump, and I mean that as
- 8:56Speaker 2: a very positive thing.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Also, like how you said, you listen to what people
- 9:00Speaker 6: around the program are saying, and I feel like I've
- 9:02Speaker 6: heard his name a lot.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yeah, same.
- 9:03Speaker 7: So we'll do Deuce Gerald's for mine.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I like that one, too.
- 9:06Speaker 9: I'd be decently surprised if he didn't start Saturday. Because,
- 9:09Speaker 9: I mean, we talked about the D-tackle rotation. Gerald's has
- 9:12Speaker 9: been the constant. And, like, I don't think people realize this, because, like,
- 9:15Speaker 9: we talk Richard Anderson, Lamar Brown's a local kid. Y'all
- 9:19Speaker 9: realize how much... high school talent comes out of the
- 9:21Speaker 9: state of Georgia. Deuce Gerald's is the all time high
- 9:24Speaker 9: school sack leader in the state of Georgia.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Right.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Not sure.
- 9:27Speaker 9: A lot of people realize that cause he played more
- 9:28Speaker 9: on the edge in high school. He had 51 total
- 9:31Speaker 9: sacks in high school. Like this guy can play.
- 9:36Speaker 7: Led his school and tackles at 91. Oh, he's 37
- 9:41Speaker 7: tackles for loss. 16 sacks.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah. He's, he is a difference maker.
- 9:45Speaker 8: Uh, They were doing like an offensive drill where the
- 9:49Speaker 8: D-line was helping out kind of like run fits. And
- 9:52Speaker 8: his hands were hitting the chest plate of the offensive lineman.
- 9:56Speaker 8: And you could tell he had to kind of back
- 9:57Speaker 8: off a little bit to try to help the drill out.
- 10:02Speaker 2: All right, Matt.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Hey, buddy. Unknown people.
- 10:05Speaker 10: I don't really know any of the unknown people, so
- 10:07Speaker 10: I'm going to give you what I do know. I'm
- 10:09Speaker 10: going to tell you, and it's not unknown for a
- 10:12Speaker 10: lot of LSU people, but stepping into some big shoes,
- 10:16Speaker 10: what Weeks told us, he's excited to see. um pj
- 10:20Speaker 10: woodland played this year and i know he's not an
- 10:22Speaker 10: unknown name and we're all looking for him to potentially
- 10:24Speaker 10: step in but you're you're stepping into the shoes of
- 10:28Speaker 10: a um guy that played last year that went in
- 10:30Speaker 10: the top 10 from the nfl draft and he's going
- 10:33Speaker 10: to get a lot of looks because the other guy
- 10:35Speaker 10: on the other side is an alien um dj pickett
- 10:38Speaker 10: is probably if you are looking if you're a quarterback
- 10:42Speaker 10: He gets a lot of scrimmage, all things being equal,
- 10:44Speaker 10: and you look left, you look right. You're probably throwing
- 10:45Speaker 10: it away from DJ Pickett just from a physical, like
- 10:48Speaker 10: the way he looks physically, at least in week one, right?
- 10:52Speaker 10: You got a new quarterback that's going to make some
- 10:56Speaker 10: playing for Clemson. Maybe he's been named the starter. Maybe
- 10:59Speaker 10: he hasn't. I think PJ Woodland's going to have a
- 11:01Speaker 10: pick six this week.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I'm calling it.
- 11:04Speaker 9: He is quietly.
- 11:06Speaker 2: When you give a prediction, there's no tiptoe.
- 11:08Speaker 5: No.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Any no guess is.
- 11:09Speaker 9: What it's going to be.
- 11:11Speaker 2: This guy is going to start quarterback for a team
- 11:13Speaker 2: he currently does not play for. Got it.
- 11:16Speaker 9: Book it.
- 11:18Speaker 8: PJ Woodland, it's not a bad choice because I understand
- 11:21Speaker 8: what you're saying. DJ Pickett gets all the headlines, and
- 11:24Speaker 8: he should because he's a freak. But PJ Woodland on
- 11:27Speaker 8: the other side, very solid player. Teammates love him. Teammates
- 11:31Speaker 8: trust him. And now LSU fans are starting to know more.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Well, look, that was– You know, DJ Pickett is physically imposing.
- 11:38Speaker 10: He is the returner. He's got the headlines, you know,
- 11:41Speaker 10: good or bad, but the whole five thing. People are
- 11:43Speaker 10: going to know his name. People are going to be
- 11:45Speaker 10: talking about it. Ty Benefield, everybody's talking about him coming over.
- 11:49Speaker 10: And a defensive back that has a lot of names
- 11:55Speaker 10: that people know and respect nationally, the first person that
- 11:58Speaker 10: Whit Weeks told us during SEC media days when we said,
- 12:02Speaker 10: who's one player on your defense you're excited to see
- 12:04Speaker 10: play this year?
- 12:05Speaker 3: And it took him half a second to say P.J. Woodland.
- 12:09Speaker 9: Dude, remember two years ago when he got on campus
- 12:11Speaker 9: as a three-star, people were like, hey, P.J. Woodland's going
- 12:14Speaker 9: to play. And you're like, okay, we hear this every year.
- 12:16Speaker 9: He's quietly been really good for this team for two years.
- 12:19Speaker 9: It was maybe the South Carolina game last year. People
- 12:22Speaker 9: were texting saying, Where's Mansour Delane? We haven't seen him.
- 12:26Speaker 9: Mansour Delane was out there. He was just shutting people down.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Same with P.J. Woodland.
- 12:30Speaker 9: Like, if they don't call your name during a game
- 12:32Speaker 9: and you're a corner, you're probably having a really good game. Like,
- 12:35Speaker 9: Woodland's been quietly really consistent for this team.
- 12:39Speaker 6: Someone that I think, I don't know if they'll play, like,
- 12:41Speaker 6: a ton of snaps, like, start and all that, but
- 12:43Speaker 6: I think that every time that they're going to be
- 12:45Speaker 6: out there, they're going to be very meaningful is Deshaun Spears.
- 12:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:48Speaker 7: Because he was like that last season, I feel like.
- 12:51Speaker 5: Heath.
- 12:53Speaker 2: He's got some juice to it.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Last year, the Florida game, obviously, he had a big one.
- 12:59Speaker 2: The older you get, the more refined you get, obviously.
- 13:02Speaker 8: I still think a year ago, there was probably some
- 13:05Speaker 8: things where, I'm not saying on purpose or meant to
- 13:10Speaker 8: do it. You go rogue a little bit. For me,
- 13:13Speaker 8: sometimes you don't hear the check quite. You think you
- 13:15Speaker 8: know what you're seeing when you're a young player, and
- 13:17Speaker 8: you run a route, and it's the wrong route.
- 13:19Speaker 2: You didn't get the hot, whatever it might be.
- 13:21Speaker 8: And the older you get, those things kind of go away.
- 13:24Speaker 8: And so I think the staff trusts him this year
- 13:27Speaker 8: more than they did a year ago. And, again, not
- 13:29Speaker 8: that he wasn't doing his work and whatever. It's just
- 13:30Speaker 8: a young player that was playing meaningful snaps. And that's
- 13:34Speaker 8: a guy that when he was in high school, Tay-Tay
- 13:39Speaker 8: was ready to drive him to LSU himself and let
- 13:42Speaker 8: him sign the paper.
- 13:42Speaker 9: I'm my Carlstown rival, man. I got to see him
- 13:44Speaker 9: play quite a bit. But he's a lot bigger now.
- 13:48Speaker 9: He was kind of a lanky guy in high school.
- 13:50Speaker 3: But he's it.
- 13:51Speaker 9: 6'3, 215, which is perfect for star. Let's look at
- 13:57Speaker 9: who he's had at star. Major Burns and Harold Perkins.
- 14:01Speaker 9: I don't think either of those guys fit the star
- 14:03Speaker 9: role great. I think Deshaun Spears does. I think this
- 14:07Speaker 9: is the best star position Blake Baker's going to have
- 14:10Speaker 9: by a lot.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Taylor just made his educated take sound really dumb.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Sorry, man.
- 14:16Speaker 3: You don't know ball.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Who's his coach?
- 14:19Speaker 9: Who's his coach?
- 14:20Speaker 3: The star coach, right? Is there an assistant star coach?
- 14:27Speaker 2: There could be.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I mean, no, I don't think there could be.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Oh, there could be.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Because it'd be a fake coach.
- 14:35Speaker 6: I mean, they have 80 coaches on staff.
- 14:37Speaker 7: You think one of them is not the star coach?
- 14:39Speaker 10: I wanted to see it in the program. The program
- 14:44Speaker 10: is going to be the size of a phone book
- 14:45Speaker 10: this year.
- 14:46Speaker 9: It's going to say defensive analyst slash star.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Do they still give programs away at the game?
- 14:50Speaker 2: At least I'm working.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It's going to be the size of a phone book.
- 14:55Speaker 3: They have a media book for sure.
- 14:56Speaker 10: They have the coaches section where they have all the
- 14:58Speaker 10: head shots. At least they used to.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Whatever. Maybe that was 15 years ago when they stopped.
- 15:04Speaker 7: You're making Jake snore.
- 15:06Speaker 3: I want to see one that says.
- 15:07Speaker 2: We know they got a lot of coaches. We know.
- 15:12Speaker 7: T-Martin was the game-changing. He was 78 or 79.
- 15:15Speaker 2: T-Martin was the one that put Matt over there.
- 15:18Speaker 9: Yeah, T-Martin was the one.
- 15:19Speaker 6: T was catching strays because he was just 78.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Coach O didn't get near as many strays at 79.
- 15:25Speaker 6: And everybody got so defensive about.
- 15:27Speaker 7: Him, too.
- 15:28Speaker 10: Everyone was talking about how great of a hire it was.
- 15:31Speaker 10: I'm like, I got it. He's a good coach. We're
- 15:33Speaker 10: getting into this again. But he's a 78.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 15:38Speaker 3: What kind of responsibilities can he actually have?
- 15:39Speaker 2: All I'm going to tell you. All I'm going to
- 15:42Speaker 2: tell you.
- 15:42Speaker 3: He's hiring a buddy.
- 15:43Speaker 7: If I was a player, I'd be like, why am
- 15:44Speaker 7: I being micromanaged right now?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Why are you looking over my shoulder, Coach? I got
- 15:48Speaker 3: nothing else to do.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Everybody does something. I tried to tell you that. You
- 15:53Speaker 2: haven't been out there.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I got nothing else to do. I'm looking over your shoulder.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Haters.
- 15:59Speaker 7: I'm here.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Try to depose all.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Of those coaches.
- 16:03Speaker 7: All 80 of them.
- 16:04Speaker 2: You can't depose all of them. It's going to cost
- 16:05Speaker 2: you too much. Matthew Clayton Flynn.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I like that one.
- 16:09Speaker 7: There's going to be so many depositions.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Try to depose all 80.
- 16:14Speaker 9: I get your star, but why do you hate all
- 16:17Speaker 9: the coaches? There's so many. I just look at it
- 16:19Speaker 9: like if you got the funds for it, all are coaching.
- 16:22Speaker 10: I don't hate it. I just think it's funny because
- 16:26Speaker 10: even when No.
- 16:28Speaker 7: You hate it.
- 16:28Speaker 9: You kind of hate it, but it's like seething.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's just wasteful.
- 16:33Speaker 7: But I'm with you because why?
- 16:34Speaker 2: It's wasteful. If you don't use it to your advantage,
- 16:37Speaker 2: it is.
- 16:38Speaker 8: Like, Billy Napier having the coordinator of game-changing moments, that's wasteful.
- 16:42Speaker 7: That's stupid.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Do you don't think that there are titles over there
- 16:46Speaker 3: at LSU?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Maybe nothing.
- 16:49Speaker 9: I mean, look, if you got the funding for it,
- 16:51Speaker 9: you're either going to use it or not use it.
- 16:52Speaker 3: To hire your buddy?
- 16:53Speaker 9: Bring in a guy.
- 16:53Speaker 3: You got the funding to hire your buddy?
- 16:55Speaker 2: Sure.
- 16:55Speaker 8: Right, but a buddy with a resume that is worthy
- 16:58Speaker 8: of being a coach at LSU, too.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It's not like he was coaching at Grand Valley State.
- 17:01Speaker 10: You can't use your resume as the 78th coach.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yes, you can. Why can't you?
- 17:09Speaker 3: There's only so much to do.
- 17:10Speaker 2: The 53rd guy on the NFL roster has got a
- 17:13Speaker 2: good resume. But when you played every team you ever
- 17:16Speaker 2: played for, what, there was 20 coaches? I don't know.
- 17:19Speaker 2: The rules were different. Five of them were dumb and
- 17:21Speaker 2: didn't do anything.
- 17:23Speaker 7: Of 20.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Wow. What do you think it does for 80 of them? Wow.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Are you going to name the five now?
- 17:32Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Are you telling me you didn't have on every coach's staff.
- 17:35Speaker 8: Are you going to name the five now?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Multiple coaches were like, y'all are just dumb. Every staff's
- 17:41Speaker 2: got a dum-dum. Every staff of 20. But it's not
- 17:45Speaker 2: in numbers. How many dum-dums do you have at 80?
- 17:47Speaker 2: How did that guy get a job? I get that.
- 17:50Speaker 2: So if you just do the math that way, you're
- 17:52Speaker 2: spending millions on dum-dums.
- 17:54Speaker 9: Two million on dum-dums.
- 17:58Speaker 2: If you do the math that way. We actually, I
- 18:02Speaker 2: don't know that we can say that either. Like if
- 18:04Speaker 2: you look at even the GAs when we were playing here,
- 18:07Speaker 2: they went on to be coordinators in the SEC.
- 18:10Speaker 10: Every like so we had the probably historically speaking probably
- 18:15Speaker 10: the greatest coaching staff and strength staff yeah ever like
- 18:19Speaker 10: when you look at the resume but there's always a
- 18:21Speaker 10: couple i mean even in the nfl there's always a.
- 18:25Speaker 8: Couple it was i mean coach moffitt obviously then jeff
- 18:28Speaker 8: dillman went to be the head coach strength coach of
- 18:30Speaker 8: south carolina um.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Cochran went to be the strength coach at Alabama.
- 18:36Speaker 8: We'd go on and on. Vic went to be the
- 18:38Speaker 8: head strength coach at Florida State.
- 18:39Speaker 10: I think there were six or seven strength coaches that
- 18:41Speaker 10: were SEC head strength coaches.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That all were together here, yes.
- 18:46Speaker 3: But, Jake, there's always a couple.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Give me– I bet you won't say a name.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Not on air.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I bet you won't.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Hell no. I'm not dumb.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I got one in my mind.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I'm not a dum-dum.
- 18:56Speaker 7: How many strength coaches did y'all have?
- 18:59Speaker 2: A lot.
- 18:59Speaker 5: A lot.
- 19:00Speaker 7: Okay. Then maybe not a good comparison.
- 19:02Speaker 6: Yeah, we had a lot of– I mean, we– There's just, like,
- 19:05Speaker 6: a whole lot of analysts on here.
- 19:11Speaker 3: You didn't have dum-dums on your coaching staffs in the NFL?
- 19:14Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 3: A lot of them, right? And that was, like– NFL
- 19:17Speaker 3: more than college. And there was, like, 20 coaches, maybe.
- 19:19Speaker 3: 20 is a lot, actually.
- 19:24Speaker 2: That's a different role. NFL.
- 19:25Speaker 3: 60 different roles.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Like, you're kind of your own position coach in the NFL,
- 19:29Speaker 2: kind of.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, like, that's how, you know, football– I should have
- 19:33Speaker 3: staffed work for a long time.
- 19:35Speaker 1: What?
- 19:35Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Anyway. All right. Spending millions on dum-dums. With good resumes
- 19:40Speaker 2: that are qualified. We'll be back. More OTB.

- 21:15Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 21:19Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I thought you quit for a little bit.
- 21:24Speaker 7: I said to use the restroom.
- 21:26Speaker 2: I thought you quit.
- 21:27Speaker 9: Why would I quit?
- 21:29Speaker 10: I don't know, man.
- 21:31Speaker 2: You get so mad when we talk about coaches.
- 21:33Speaker 5: I don't.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I get mad when you talk about Star. You get
- 21:35Speaker 3: so mad.
- 21:36Speaker 10: Taylor, you made a great point. That whole charade was
- 21:54Speaker 10: brought to you by a star position. You brought up
- 21:57Speaker 10: the star. That set me off.
- 22:00Speaker 9: We had talked to Sean Spears for a few minutes
- 22:02Speaker 9: at this point, but it wasn't until I literally said
- 22:04Speaker 9: the word star and I could see the steam coming
- 22:06Speaker 9: out of your ears.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Well, because he has safety. Then you mispronounced his position.
- 22:15Speaker 9: That's about to rage quit.
- 22:17Speaker 2: You're right.
- 22:17Speaker 3: I might quit. I might quit today.
- 22:23Speaker 2: He threatens that all the time. He ain't quitting. All right.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Just want the LSU staff to know.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I love you.
- 22:30Speaker 7: We love all 110 of you. We've got a.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Lot of love to give.
- 22:36Speaker 7: Actually, I think it's only 80 or 79 or something
- 22:38Speaker 7: like that. But we love you. And we appreciate you.
- 22:44Speaker 3: We do. Thank you for your service.
- 22:45Speaker 2: We're going to appreciate it on Saturday.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we are. We're going to beat Clemson by at
- 22:49Speaker 3: least 20.
- 22:50Speaker 2: That one went up, huh?
- 22:53Speaker 10: Yeah, I feel better and better about it the more
- 22:56Speaker 10: time that goes by.
- 22:57Speaker 7: It's hard not to.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Hard not to.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Definitely going to out-coach him.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I don't like it.
- 23:11Speaker 9: I kind of do like it.
- 23:13Speaker 7: I wish Lane had something that we could do.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Such bad energy.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It's fine because it's sarcastic. Because it looks so dumb.
- 23:25Speaker 8: A couple of the early lines, and they're going to
- 23:28Speaker 8: change here and there over the weekend. Miami is traveling
- 23:33Speaker 8: out west to play Stanford. They are 24.5-point favorites.
- 23:38Speaker 2: USC, both those teams, remember, they did play in Week 0.
- 23:42Speaker 2: They're playing again.
- 23:43Speaker 8: USC is a 22.5-point favorite against the fighting Derek Carrs
- 23:48Speaker 8: of Fresno State. Indiana, really tough opener against North Texas.
- 23:53Speaker 8: They are minus 40.5 point favorites. Alabama, East Carolina, minus 28.
- 23:58Speaker 8: Ohio State rolled out the red carpet for Ball State,
- 24:03Speaker 8: minus 50.5. Georgia plays Tennessee State, minus 46.5. Oregon plays
- 24:10Speaker 8: Boise State, minus 24.5 for Oregon over Boise State. Now
- 24:15Speaker 8: the game is in Eugene, but that's a big, big number.
- 24:19Speaker 8: or what Boise State's certainly done in the past. You've
- 24:23Speaker 8: got Texas.
- 24:25Speaker 2: A & M hosting Missouri State, minus 40.5. Texas Tech
- 24:29Speaker 2: and Abilene Christian, minus 42.5.
- 24:32Speaker 8: Some barn burners here. LSU versus Clemson. LSU right now
- 24:35Speaker 8: sits at minus 10. You've got Michigan and Western Michigan,
- 24:39Speaker 8: minus 27.5.
- 24:41Speaker 2: For the Wolverines.
- 24:42Speaker 8: You've got BYU and Utah Tech. I have talked a
- 24:48Speaker 8: lot of college football. Y'all know me. I am like
- 24:52Speaker 8: Rain Man sometimes when it comes to mid-major college sports.
- 24:57Speaker 8: I have never in my life heard of Utah Tech
- 24:59Speaker 8: until just in this moment.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Utah Tech. Did it used to be named something else? Nope.
- 25:07Speaker 3: You even hosted a national college football show.
- 25:10Speaker 2: We talked a lot of college basketball. That's how I
- 25:13Speaker 2: know a lot of the mid-majors.
- 25:14Speaker 10: And you like to dabble. I used to dabble in
- 25:18Speaker 10: mid-major college basketball a lot.
- 25:19Speaker 5: In the.
- 25:20Speaker 2: The betting world.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and the black arts. Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Look at that. Is that the Buffalo Sabres?
- 25:25Speaker 7: The trailblazers. I like calling it that.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 25:29Speaker 2: That's a trailblazer?
- 25:30Speaker 9: It says they are the Utah Tech trailblazers.
- 25:32Speaker 7: That looks like a buffalo.
- 25:33Speaker 2: That's a buffalo.
- 25:34Speaker 3: That's a buffalo.
- 25:35Speaker 9: Here, I'll pull up their other logo that says trailblazers.
- 25:39Speaker 7: Yeah, bison.
- 25:42Speaker 3: And it'd be the great white buffalo. Trailblazers.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that looks like somebody did that on chat, GPT.
- 25:48Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 25:49Speaker 3: I mean, you can do anything on that thing.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Well, no. What are you going to say? Like the
- 25:52Speaker 2: first edition of the logo gives you that's usually what
- 25:54Speaker 2: it looks like.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Great white buffalo.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Great white buffalo. All right. So BYU's got a tough
- 25:58Speaker 2: opener with the Trailblazers of Utah Tech.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Giving them an opportunity.
- 26:04Speaker 2: We had the Apple Cup. It's going to be on Sunday. Matt,
- 26:08Speaker 2: who plays in the Apple Cup?
- 26:10Speaker 3: Let's see. What's a state known for its apples? I
- 26:17Speaker 3: don't know. They have a lot of... Apple.
- 26:20Speaker 10: Orchards in Washington State. So is it Washington State versus Washington?
- 26:29Speaker 3: Is that right? Is that right?
- 26:33Speaker 9: That's correct.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I was thinking you might know that from your time
- 26:36Speaker 2: in Seattle.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I did.
- 26:37Speaker 2: But I was like, I thought it was going to
- 26:38Speaker 2: leave the back of his brain.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I know they farm a lot of apples up in Washington.
- 26:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Washington State and Washington in Seattle. I can't believe
- 26:46Speaker 2: I got that right. The Huskies minus 20. I actually
- 26:49Speaker 2: thought you would because you lived in Washington.
- 26:52Speaker 3: No. The Apple Cup?
- 26:54Speaker 8: I thought maybe the Huskies being in the same city,
- 26:56Speaker 8: you heard the Apple Cup talk about.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Well, you got it anyways regardless. Look at you. You
- 27:02Speaker 2: got it. Notre Dame in Wisconsin. Notre Dame, 21-point favorites
- 27:06Speaker 2: against Wisconsin.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Notre Dame is.
- 27:07Speaker 2: So overrated right now.
- 27:08Speaker 7: It's because they don't have Dylan Jones anymore.
- 27:10Speaker 2: And that game's in Lambeau.
- 27:11Speaker 7: It's because Wisconsin is not with Dylan Jones.
- 27:13Speaker 3: That's true.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Games in Lambeau, 21-point dog.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Love it.
- 27:18Speaker 2: To the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
- 27:19Speaker 9: By the way, we may have to do our pontoon
- 27:22Speaker 9: parlay on Thursday.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Why?
- 27:25Speaker 9: Thursday night game.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I kind of love. Okay. Okay.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I don't think we're going to change the rules for that,
- 27:32Speaker 2: but I hear you.
- 27:34Speaker 3: You're going to take Arkansas Pine Bluff?
- 27:37Speaker 7: Wait, but since y'all are going to be out of studio,
- 27:38Speaker 7: maybe we should.
- 27:40Speaker 9: Georgia Tech. Is a six and a half point favorite
- 27:43Speaker 9: over Colorado. And I am all over Georgia Tech in
- 27:47Speaker 9: that game.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Georgia Tech's what?
- 27:48Speaker 9: A six and a half point favorite against Colorado at home.
- 27:52Speaker 10: Okay.
- 27:53Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:54Speaker 7: I don't know if I changed the rule for a favorite.
- 27:58Speaker 2: You wanted a dog?
- 27:59Speaker 7: We got to get a dog up in here.
- 28:00Speaker 3: We want a dog.
- 28:01Speaker 2: We want no cats. Meow. God, that video is so good.
- 28:06Speaker 2: We got to play that before the college football season.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Because it really didn't kick off. Y'all watched those games
- 28:12Speaker 2: last weekend. God, Luke Fickle, man. I thought he was
- 28:16Speaker 2: going to be so good at Wisconsin. Dude, he was
- 28:18Speaker 2: such a good coach.
- 28:19Speaker 9: He was the guy that everybody wanted.
- 28:21Speaker 2: He knows ball. I love Luke Fickle.
- 28:23Speaker 9: He was awesome at Cincinnati.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Dang, Wisconsin's not very good.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just... That program.
- 28:30Speaker 8: The current setup for us, you would know better than
- 28:33Speaker 8: anybody here living in Wisconsin for as long as you did.
- 28:35Speaker 8: Is it just not set up to keep up with
- 28:39Speaker 8: the NIL stuff?
- 28:39Speaker 10: Because they are– so the fans in Wisconsin are great fans.
- 28:46Speaker 10: The Packer fans, awesome. And it's those same fans that
- 28:49Speaker 10: love the Badgers. I don't understand because it is a
- 28:52Speaker 10: big deal. It's a capital city. I don't know what
- 28:55Speaker 10: the real issue is. Wisconsin has a lot of manufacturing.
- 29:00Speaker 10: So there's people– there's a lot of people with money
- 29:03Speaker 10: in Wisconsin.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:04Speaker 10: Um, there's like, you look at a lot of the manufacturing,
- 29:07Speaker 10: food manufacturing, of course, like the dairy world, but a
- 29:10Speaker 10: lot of packaging and, and equipment and military stuff is
- 29:14Speaker 10: also up there in Wisconsin. So, I mean, there's, there's
- 29:18Speaker 10: money to be had up there and I'm sure they're
- 29:19Speaker 10: willing to spend it. Um, but for whatever reason that
- 29:23Speaker 10: that's just one program, even in their heyday, they still
- 29:27Speaker 10: couldn't get over the hump. They would always be like
- 29:29Speaker 10: every single year, they'd be top five in the country
- 29:32Speaker 10: at some point.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:33Speaker 10: But then it was like, oh, they just lost two
- 29:35Speaker 10: games in a row or whatever. But, like, that was
- 29:37Speaker 10: just kind of the way that they're that they were
- 29:40Speaker 10: forever but now it's just they've fallen into this pit
- 29:42Speaker 10: of irrelevance right now and i kind of liked it
- 29:45Speaker 10: when they were because that place is rocking yeah yeah
- 29:48Speaker 10: that stadium's awesome.
- 29:51Speaker 8: Yep so 21 point dog basically right down the road
- 29:54Speaker 8: in green bay at lambeau field uh and then You've
- 29:59Speaker 8: got Louisville and Ole Miss in Nashville. So a neutral
- 30:03Speaker 8: site game here. Ole Miss, a seven-point favorite. Ole Miss
- 30:06Speaker 8: comes in number nine in the country. Louisville is 24th
- 30:09Speaker 8: in the country. That is going to be a fun
- 30:11Speaker 8: game to watch. And that game's on Sunday. So LSU fans,
- 30:15Speaker 8: you're going to be able to watch that one. That
- 30:18Speaker 8: is the standalone game at night, Louisville versus Ole Miss.
- 30:22Speaker 8: And then on Monday, you've got SMU.
- 30:23Speaker 2: SMU.
- 30:26Speaker 8: Florida State in Tallahassee. SMU actually a three-point favorite on
- 30:30Speaker 8: the road. I might throw that bad boy into the
- 30:33Speaker 8: pontoon parlay.
- 30:33Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 30:36Speaker 8: So to kind of give you an idea of what
- 30:37Speaker 8: the slate is, not a lot. Not a lot there.
- 30:41Speaker 8: As far as ranked on rank, it's only Ole Miss
- 30:45Speaker 8: and Louisville. And then technically, if you want to throw LSU, Clemson,
- 30:48Speaker 8: because Clemson is ranked in one poll, just not in
- 30:50Speaker 8: both polls.
- 30:52Speaker 2: That's all you're going to get. So a lot of
- 30:56Speaker 2: Cupcakes here in week number one.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 2: A lot of preseason games.
- 31:00Speaker 3: That's a little disappointing, right?
- 31:02Speaker 2: If you will.
- 31:02Speaker 7: Yeah, like, let's set it off. It's week one.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Let's go, people.
- 31:06Speaker 3: That's why everyone's so scared.
- 31:08Speaker 2: People used to. They don't anymore. Now that you can just, like,
- 31:11Speaker 2: as long as it's your record.
- 31:12Speaker 9: It's that week two game that I feel like most
- 31:15Speaker 9: people now, like, have that big opponent.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 7: Our week two game is not big.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Week two used to be.
- 31:21Speaker 7: Isn't it Louisiana Tech?
- 31:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Week two used to be, like, boring.
- 31:24Speaker 8: Don't throw shade at the Bulldogs of Ruston.
- 31:27Speaker 7: Look, woof, woof.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Go Dawgs.
- 31:28Speaker 7: But it's not a big game.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Go Dawgs.
- 31:30Speaker 9: No, it's not.
- 31:32Speaker 7: Whoa.
- 31:34Speaker 10: Even, like, to us, LSU Clemson is, like, the mecca
- 31:39Speaker 10: of the weekend, but it's still a 10-point line.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Take it.
- 31:45Speaker 9: But, like, yeah, like, this year, week two is a
- 31:47Speaker 9: little bit better.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Like.
- 31:48Speaker 9: Oklahoma, Michigan, Arizona State, A & M, Oregon, Oklahoma State. Like,
- 31:52Speaker 9: it's a little bit better. Week two is a lot
- 31:53Speaker 9: better than week one.
- 31:56Speaker 3: But you know what? It's all better than no football.
- 31:59Speaker 3: It's true.
- 32:00Speaker 8: Which game gets better TV ratings, LSU-Clemson or the stand-alone
- 32:06Speaker 8: Ole Miss-Louisville?
- 32:07Speaker 9: LSU-Clemson. People are going to hate watch.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 3: They're going to hate watch. Mm-hmm.
- 32:12Speaker 10: And it's going to be more because of game day
- 32:15Speaker 10: and everything. People are going to be more aware of it.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 6: I'm going to laugh so hard if Ole Miss loses
- 32:25Speaker 6: to Louisville. Like, I don't think y'all understand how happy
- 32:28Speaker 6: that's going to make me. I've been trying to tell people.
- 32:31Speaker 10: Mississippi radio is saying the same thing in the other direction, right?
- 32:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Yeah, truly, truly. The whole country, 49 states are.
- 32:40Speaker 7: I don't feel anything toward Ole Miss. Like, I really don't.
- 32:43Speaker 7: I don't really. They're Ole Miss, whatever. I just, it's
- 32:47Speaker 7: annoying that.
- 32:48Speaker 6: People want them to be so good that they're just
- 32:50Speaker 6: ranking them this high when they have a whole new
- 32:53Speaker 6: staff and a lot of new pieces.
- 32:56Speaker 9: It blows my mind that people just don't think they're
- 32:58Speaker 9: going to fall off. Lane took them to places they've
- 33:01Speaker 9: never been before. He's gone, and you're just like, oh,
- 33:04Speaker 9: they're just going to keep it rolling. It was Ole
- 33:05Speaker 9: Miss the whole time. It wasn't Lane. Forget the 40
- 33:08Speaker 9: years we've seen before that of crap football.
- 33:11Speaker 10: And even if you want to argue that point, be like, well,
- 33:14Speaker 10: Lane wasn't really calling the plays or doing that well.
- 33:17Speaker 3: The staff is also here.
- 33:19Speaker 9: Charlie Weiss is here, too.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:20Speaker 9: So all those receivers that caught all those passes last year, yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 9: only one of them is back.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Hey, but hats off. A lot of respect to Trinidad
- 33:27Speaker 3: and his skill set.
- 33:28Speaker 7: And his sixth year.
- 33:29Speaker 10: He's a very good quarterback. You have played too long, sir,
- 33:33Speaker 10: in college football. You should not be playing this year.
- 33:35Speaker 10: But what you did last year, a lot of respect
- 33:37Speaker 10: from this side.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Very good quarterback.
- 33:39Speaker 2: All right. We will take a break.
- 33:40Speaker 8: More OTB when we come back here live from the
- 33:43Speaker 8: Raising King Studio.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Off the bench.
- 33:46Speaker 8: Or go to centralplumbing.org, centralplumbing.org in Baton Rouge and now
- 33:51Speaker 8: also in Lafayette. That's right, the greater Baton Rouge area.
- 33:54Speaker 8: You've known that for a long time. They are expanding.

- 34:10Speaker 8: game day, does not matter. Like, hey, if LSU and
- 34:12Speaker 8: Clemson are about to kick off and you've got a

- 34:20Speaker 8: for you. It's not only in emergencies. You can upgrade
- 34:22Speaker 8: with them as well. Go to centralplumbing.org today.
- 34:26Speaker 3: That's right.
- 34:26Speaker 10: If you go to centralplumbing.org, you can check out all
- 34:28Speaker 10: of their lists of services. You can see client testimonials.
- 34:32Speaker 10: They've been doing it a long time. The Payne family,
- 34:33Speaker 10: a third-generation company, and you don't stay in business that
- 34:36Speaker 10: long unless you're treating people the right way and you're
- 34:38Speaker 10: an expert at your craft.
- 34:39Speaker 3: So if you have a plumbing need, commercial, residential, go
- 34:41Speaker 3: to centralplumbing.org.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 34:52Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 34:53Speaker 5: Off the Bench.
- 35:19Speaker 4: All right, welcome back here off the bench.
- 35:32Speaker 10: On a Tuesday, Tuesday show brought to you by Community Steel.
- 35:36Speaker 10: Everybody loves a Tuesday.
- 35:39Speaker 9: Everybody does.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Great team. I think it's their second haul in it, so.
- 35:43Speaker 7: Y'all know me.
- 35:44Speaker 3: You know what else we love? We love Caterus.
- 35:48Speaker 7: Whoa.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Love Caterus.
- 35:49Speaker 7: Love me some LNG.
- 35:51Speaker 3: Are you kidding me?
- 35:51Speaker 10: When you think about Louisiana, you think about energy, and
- 35:54Speaker 10: one company helping shape the future is Caterus. Caterus is
- 35:58Speaker 10: developing the Commonwealth LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, connecting
- 36:01Speaker 10: American natural gas with customers around the world. Now under
- 36:05Speaker 10: construction after reaching the final investment decision in 2026, the
- 36:09Speaker 10: project represents a major investment in Louisiana's future, but it's
- 36:12Speaker 10: about more than exporting energy. It's about creating jobs here
- 36:16Speaker 10: in Louisiana. It's about supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and
- 36:19Speaker 10: reinforcing Louisiana's position as one of the world's leading energy hubs.
- 36:23Speaker 10: Through its natural gas production and the Commonwealth LNG project,
- 36:26Speaker 10: Catalyst is helping build an integrated energy platform that connects
- 36:30Speaker 10: domestic resources with growing global demand. As construction continues on
- 36:34Speaker 10: Louisiana's Gulf Coast, Catalyst is proud to invest in American energy,
- 36:37Speaker 10: American workers, and a stronger economic future. Catalyst, connecting Louisiana
- 36:41Speaker 10: energy to the world.
- 36:44Speaker 7: The entire world?
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yep. Cataracts. Worldwide.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Just ran into Gordie Rush.
- 36:52Speaker 7: Oh, hey, Gordie.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I don't even know the last time, so sorry. I
- 36:55Speaker 2: was catching up with you.
- 36:56Speaker 7: I saw him yesterday.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Because you don't go to meetings.
- 36:58Speaker 2: No, I got other jobs. I got a lot of children.
- 37:01Speaker 2: A lot of mouse's feet. You know what I'm saying?
- 37:04Speaker 5: Yeah. Me too.
- 37:04Speaker 2: No, but I kind of did forget. His son moved
- 37:06Speaker 2: from Utah to Catholic, so I was like, where were
- 37:07Speaker 2: you for the... The game the other day. Oh, yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 2: The other side. Both of them did? No, just Jack.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Kids. Change of schools. He loses. Change his friends. Wow.
- 37:20Speaker 2: No, I just didn't see him on the U-High side.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I was kind of like, I'm so used to seeing
- 37:24Speaker 2: him because Knox and Jack's been on the same team forever.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 7: I try to avoid Gordy.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Oh, why?
- 37:30Speaker 7: Love Gordy. But then he hits me with like something.
- 37:34Speaker 7: that I don't really know what he's saying, though, and, like.
- 37:37Speaker 6: Adds it, and I don't really, I gotta kind of
- 37:39Speaker 6: just figure out what I'm supposed to, we just experienced
- 37:42Speaker 6: this last week.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Oh, getting Gordy's a way of life. Yes.
- 37:47Speaker 7: Love him. But I get Gordied on the regular.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Shout out to.
- 37:54Speaker 6: G.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Verb. Gordied.
- 37:56Speaker 7: Yeah, we coined it here.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 37:58Speaker 7: Shout out to him, though.
- 38:01Speaker 3: You're only getting Munsoned.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Explain.
- 38:05Speaker 6: Huh?
- 38:05Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 7: Okay, I haven't seen that movie in a minute. We're
- 38:10Speaker 7: munching down here on the side of the road.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Kingpin, that's a deep cut.
- 38:14Speaker 7: I haven't seen Kingpin since I was too young to
- 38:16Speaker 7: see Kingpin.
- 38:16Speaker 2: I haven't seen Kingpin maybe since theaters.
- 38:19Speaker 3: We don't have a cow. We got a bull.
- 38:23Speaker 7: A bell bull. Is there a bell bull?
- 38:26Speaker 5: Is that a thing?
- 38:27Speaker 3: Taylor liked that one. Just a cow. Bell bull. Prize bull.
- 38:33Speaker 2: You were looking for prized pig earlier.
- 38:35Speaker 3: I think so. They're farm animals, am I right?
- 38:39Speaker 2: That's what old McDonald's said.
- 38:41Speaker 9: What do you hear, Olsenwood?
- 38:47Speaker 3: You're stubborn. Go look that scene up if you haven't
- 38:53Speaker 3: seen it. You youths.
- 38:58Speaker 8: I don't think there's anybody under the age of 25
- 39:01Speaker 8: that's seen kingpin.
- 39:02Speaker 10: No they should because it's a classic it it still
- 39:05Speaker 10: it still plays but it is.
- 39:06Speaker 9: A like did you explain this lineage it is a
- 39:10Speaker 9: little bit more of a deeper cut than it probably
- 39:12Speaker 9: should be.
- 39:12Speaker 10: Yeah because it's it like i watched it not like
- 39:16Speaker 10: super recently but within the last like two years.
- 39:19Speaker 9: I haven't seen it in years.
- 39:21Speaker 10: I've watched it and that was the first time i'd
- 39:22Speaker 10: seen in a while and i laughed just as hard
- 39:25Speaker 10: as i used to that humor has not faded Sports.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Sports.
- 39:43Speaker 5: Sports.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Did y'all say the movie?
- 39:50Speaker 2: Oh, actually, we're talking sports. You're talking Kingpin.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's bowling.
- 39:54Speaker 10: Obviously, Bill Murray. Probably, it might be Bill Murray's, it's
- 39:59Speaker 10: a top character.
- 40:00Speaker 7: Somebody just paid $ 10 for a comment.
- 40:02Speaker 2: So I feel like I should read it.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 40:04Speaker 2: It doesn't go to us.
- 40:05Speaker 5: I got it. Ten.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Not a comment. I don't know.
- 40:09Speaker 2: I got it.
- 40:10Speaker 6: Love to see Harris, Xavier Harris. Come into the Ole
- 40:13Speaker 6: Miss game, level Trinidad, run over to the Ole Miss sideline,
- 40:17Speaker 6: point at Pete Golding a la scene from Remember the Titans.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It would be funny. You'd probably get a flag, but. Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 3: It's fine.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Worth it.
- 40:27Speaker 7: Yeah, that would be worth it. There's some flags that
- 40:29Speaker 7: are worth it. I want to see Witt shotgun a
- 40:34Speaker 7: ball again.
- 40:36Speaker 2: That was the best.
- 40:37Speaker 9: I don't remember, but that was the best. It was
- 40:39Speaker 9: the scoop and score, right? He didn't score, but he
- 40:42Speaker 9: got to lay down to like the two.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I want to see someone run up to Dabba during
- 40:45Speaker 3: the game and go.
- 40:49Speaker 7: Can you show wit next time you see him?
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I can do that.
- 40:52Speaker 3: He's probably watching.
- 40:53Speaker 2: You know what?
- 40:54Speaker 8: Now, if you got a sack against Clemson, it might
- 40:57Speaker 8: be a little tighter. Like Dabba, and then look at him,
- 40:59Speaker 8: and then like fake pump at him.
- 41:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Bet you won't.
- 41:04Speaker 7: We got to get that to Witt.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I'll get it to him.
- 41:07Speaker 7: You're welcome. If we see that.
- 41:11Speaker 2: If you're watching the game and Witt makes, you know,
- 41:16Speaker 2: plays sack in the backfield, whatever, and then dab, oh.
- 41:19Speaker 7: I would lose my mind.
- 41:21Speaker 3: What if the whole stadium did it?
- 41:23Speaker 2: I think it would be better if Witt did it.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Like a surprise to you watching at home.
- 41:27Speaker 3: That would be great.
- 41:27Speaker 2: You would be that Leo meme pointing at the TV. Yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 2: That would be you.
- 41:33Speaker 7: We made that up.
- 41:34Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 41:35Speaker 9: We did it.
- 41:35Speaker 3: We did that.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Tuesday.
- 41:38Speaker 7: It was on 80s Tuesday.
- 41:39Speaker 3: 80s Tuesday.
- 41:41Speaker 9: It wasn't a fumble recovery.
- 41:42Speaker 3: It was a pick. We were talking about the dum-dums.
- 41:44Speaker 7: Yeah, we were talking about the dum-dum go shit. You can't.
- 41:52Speaker 2: What?
- 41:53Speaker 9: It wasn't a fumble recovery. It was a pick.
- 41:54Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 41:55Speaker 2: It was in Arkansas. It didn't even really count. I
- 41:58Speaker 2: don't know.
- 41:58Speaker 5: No. Maybe.
- 42:01Speaker 3: I'm going to a pep rally in a little while. Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 7: Yeah, I forgot.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Are you in it?
- 42:05Speaker 2: You're really going to be pepped?
- 42:07Speaker 3: A pep is, what is pep?
- 42:10Speaker 7: Pep, like put a little pep in your step.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but what is pep short for?
- 42:13Speaker 10: It's a very short word, and usually words like that
- 42:16Speaker 10: are short for something. Obviously, it's probably a very old term.
- 42:23Speaker 7: Like maybe like peppy?
- 42:24Speaker 3: Peppy?
- 42:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 7: Isn't peppy a word?
- 42:27Speaker 3: Peppy? Peppy.
- 42:31Speaker 9: It's short for pepper.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Pepper.
- 42:33Speaker 9: Used in a figurative sense to mean vigor, spirit, or energy.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Pepper.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 42:43Speaker 8: It says pep means energy, enthusiasm, or spirit. So a
- 42:47Speaker 8: pep rally is literally a gathering designed to build excitement, confidence,
- 42:50Speaker 8: and school slash team spirit. Usually before a big game
- 42:54Speaker 8: or event. Basically, everybody get together, get fired up, and
- 42:59Speaker 8: support the team.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Pep rally.
- 43:01Speaker 3: I do feel like that.
- 43:03Speaker 10: A word like that usually is short for something, and
- 43:05Speaker 10: Tristan in the chat says it might be short for pepperoni.
- 43:08Speaker 9: That was my first thought, but I was like, I
- 43:09Speaker 9: don't think so.
- 43:10Speaker 3: We got to take a break.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Nope, we're not going down that road. More OTB when
- 43:13Speaker 2: we come back.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 43:16Speaker 8: All right, go to getgordon.com. Gordon McKernan, injury attorney. Still
- 43:19Speaker 8: out in the state of Louisiana. They're going to be

- 43:38Speaker 8: A live agent is going to pull up right there.
- 43:41Speaker 8: You're able to have that conversation on the website. So
- 43:44Speaker 8: many different ways to get in contact with the G-Team.
- 43:46Speaker 8: Get Gordon and get it done.
- 43:47Speaker 3: That's right. Be a part of that G-Team.
- 43:49Speaker 10: We've seen all the work that Gordon McKernan has done
- 43:52Speaker 10: in the community around the holidays, just all the great
- 43:55Speaker 10: stuff he has done in our Louisiana and Baton Rouge community.
- 43:58Speaker 10: And we've seen the great work that they do over
- 44:00Speaker 10: there in the NIL space with the G-Team at LSU.
- 44:05Speaker 10: But at the heart of everything, they're here to fight
- 44:07Speaker 10: for you. If you have been injured, Gordon McKernan Injury
- 44:10Speaker 10: Attorneys are here to get exactly what you deserve. So
- 44:12Speaker 10: call the 8s, 888-8888, or go to getgordon.com.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 44:26Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 44:42Speaker 7: If I tell you, if I tell you now.
- 44:47Speaker 2: All right, welcome back here at OTB.
- 44:50Speaker 8: Remind you, our Tuesday show is brought to you by
- 44:51Speaker 8: our friends over at Community Steel. CommunitySteelCo.com is the website.
- 44:56Speaker 8: Right there in Gonzales, Louisiana. Louisiana Steel. CommunitySteelCo.com.
- 45:04Speaker 3: Hey, I want to take responsibility for our clock there.
- 45:07Speaker 5: End of the hour.
- 45:11Speaker 2: You should.
