- Shaun: Alright, what's up, everybody? Welcome back to Bald Enough to Say It. This is actually not a brand new episode. This is just a little quick episode that Barry and I wanted to give to you all because we have been getting a ton of NBA free agency news. So let's talk about it. There have been some big moves. Of course, we have to talk about you all can see it in the background. There is a massive Celtics fan. How are you feeling with the move of Jaylen Brown, bro? Barry: Man non stop today. Yeah. Well I'm trying to just logically find a silver lining, I think. I don't know what it is yet, but I don't know, man. Like at first I like it's a cost cutting move, but it's not because he's only makes three million dollars less than what Jaylen Brown would have made this year. And he I don't know, man. The more and more it's just like I don't know why or how they got here. Like to wanting to get rid of him. The only thing that I can think of that makes somewhat sense to me is they didn't want to extend him because potent I mean he's making a lot of money or I mean, yeah, he's still gonna make a lot of money. He's just gonna be with the Celtics, but he's making a lot of money in the next three years. I mean a hundred and f thirty or forty million and fifty seven this upcoming year, and then it jumps into the sixties for the final two years, so it's ⁓ no, it's like a hundred and eighty then. Shaun: He's making a ton, dude. Barry: And then he was gonna be eligible for I think like a hundred that's what the hundred and forty was. He's I think he's eligible for a hundred and forty over two years. So seventy million almost a year for ⁓ after if would have stayed with the Boston Celtics. Shaun: I feel like this was more of a move for the Sixers though. Because Yeah, they've been they've been looking for that player to push them over the hump. And he might be the player to do that. I mean he is he's only the seventh best player on the team. But but he might be able to push them over the hump, bro. Barry: ⁓ and makes them better. Yeah. He could be but then they've lost a lot though. It's bullshit. We know that. That silliness. ⁓ but I and Like I like Jaylen Brown, like as a person. He's he's a little out there, but I've appreciated him for what he's done for ten years in Boston. Like and not even just on the basketball court, just all the things that I know he did in the community. And that's gonna be a big loss for the city. But I hope he gets what he wants. Like and and that sucks to say 'cause it's gonna be at the detriment to Boston and 'cause they're in the same division, so It's gonna be a crazy like and they play each other what four times during the season, potentially gonna see each other in the playoffs. Like he's gonna have such a big chip and he's gonna just ⁓ man, I'm scared for what he's gonna do. Like for real. Shaun: A lot. I mean okay. Boston is one of those places that you villain players usually don't want to play because Boston fans are freaking brutal. They are really brutal. But do you really think that they're gonna be brutal toward toward JB? I don't think so. They they ripped Kyrie apart. But I don't think that they Barry: Dude, they are ruthless. They're ruthless. They are. ⁓ I hope not. I really hope not. Cause he didn't ⁓ no. They but it's the way Kyrie handled that whole situation, bro. He the started the season, like, yo, I want to sign an extension, and by the end he was like, I'm out. And again, I've I've in today's like this situation here, from what I've heard and read, and again, I don't look into this too too much because I mean, I don't know. Does it really matter in the scheme of my life? Not really, but He didn't request a trade, so or that's what the reporting was and so This was the Boston decision and I mean Boston does this though. They did it to IT. Speaking of the Kyrie situation, they got what they thought was gonna be the most value for him. And that's to me why it makes sense again if you're not gonna extend him and try and sign him for the remain you know, into his mid thirties. He just came off the best season of his career, to his own words, his favorite season of his career, which I don't really have a problem understanding that I I do see what he's saying. Shaun: So hi. Barry: And the fact that he got to lead the team and he got to overproduce or he I don't want to say overproduce, but he got to pretty much go above and beyond what everybody thought he was gonna be able to do. And he carried them way f yeah, and he carried them way further than anybody thought that was gonna happen. You know, besides probably Celtics fans. And but even me, I thought they'd be four or five seed at best. So yeah, he took higher than I thought they would go, but Shaun: He was he was the player on the team, which is what he's been wanting. Yeah. Barry: It's gonna hurt to see him in that colo those colors, bro. It's gonna hurt. But now I don't have any animosity towards the man 'cause again, he didn't e again, he says things and I mean that I think a lot of its media, it's gonna be played a certain way, like you said, kind of villainized, but he's not a villain in any way, shape or form to me. Shaun: And the red, white, and blue. I mean okay, so speaking of the s like some of the stuff that he says, like he even he called out Joel Embiid for being a flopper. Yeah. So what like what does that conversation look like in the locker room now? Barry: That's gonna be I was reading that earlier. Yeah, for being a flopper. So I mean, sometimes you say those things. I don't know. I don't know. But I feel like I mean these dudes are professionals. I mean I think but he said he's one of the best bigs in the world. He in the same sentence. So I don't know, do you Yeah, I've ⁓ who's not gonna argue that he's he doesn't sell it, bro? Like he does. Especially in his older age. Like that's a Shaun: Yeah. He did, yeah. And he even said he knows it too, so I mean he ⁓ yeah. I feel like you have to if you're a star though, like because they expect espe a bigger star. They expect for you to be able to finish and make those moves and a lot of times yeah, you'll get some of the whistles just because of their friendly and your status, but a lot of times you're getting hit and not getting anything unless you do unless you do play it up some. So But y'all are getting PG. Play off P Barry: I mean, that's what the refs yeah. Yeah. And do, yeah, for sure. Yeah. No. And bro, he torched the Celtics in that first round series. He's a big reason why they won. So I I can't be too mad. I just feel like I guess I just d I I can't wrap my brain around why. Again, I guess until I hear more, maybe it'll make sense, but they're not much better off financially. They went over the first apron with signing Robinson and Conley today, which I'm okay with those signings too. And think they're g be competitive but I honestly the way they're constructed I don't know if they'll be like title contenders. I don't know if I could say that. Shaun: Man, like I feel Barry: The East just got a lot better with Kawhi coming over and ⁓ Oubre going to Indy. Like a lot of things moved around today and the East just got a lot more competitive against the entire league, but within itself I feel. So and I mean of course Giannis going to Miami, we don't know where Bron's gonna land yet. So a lot of things did happen today, but there's still things that could change things even bigger. Shaun: The east got so much better. I I feel like there are two landing spots for Bron at this point. It's probably either gonna be Golden State if they're able to pull that off, or it sounds like Cleveland is trying to make room with or make room for him with restructuring James Harden's contract. Barry: Yeah. And they lost ⁓ what's his name? Dean Wade Dean Wade, excuse me, I don't don't let me mis say it no. Okay, I wanted to be clear. Dean Wade with an N. Dean Wade. Hard N. Dean. Hard in on there. Shaun: Dean Wade. Don't call him D Wade. Don't call him D Wade. Dean Wade. Yes. There's only hard. It's crazy. ⁓ Barry: But no ⁓ he went to Philly. And I so here's my thing with Philly though. They lost Oubre, which was huge. George, I think I was reading he averaged like sixteen seventeen last year, which I mean that's ten points less, twelve points less than what Jaylen, but Jaylen did do it without J T this year. So I feel the numbers won't be as big of a fall off. I just hope PG can hold up. I mean that's ⁓ Shaun: Yeah. Barry: And maybe they'll shock us. Maybe J T can do a little bit of what J B did this year and, you know, outperform what people might think. I just I don't know. It's again on paper, you never really know. I'm not scared that they're not gonna be competitive. I definitely don't think that. I just the way Toronto moved, which they were I think still a really good team last year. They almost beat the Cavs, like pushed them and Losing just Brandon Ingram, I mean, I know what's his name, ⁓ Grady Dick coming off the bench. He did some things every now and again, but that wasn't a huge loss for them. And Kawhi can produce what Ingram had, if not more. So I feel like they're gonna be a better team. And if Kawhi wants to be there again, it's ⁓ they'll be a scary team in these for sure. Shaun: I mean, even thinking about the Pacers, they've gotten a little bit better too. They signed Kelly Oubre. Halliburton's gonna be coming back. If he's coming back off of the injury, but he's still gonna be coming back, so he's a leader of their team. That's gonna be back pick for them. Barry: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, coming back. Yeah. And that who they got ⁓ that dude ⁓ from the Clippers. What's his name? Zubok. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Which he's a heck of a player, dog. That was it was crazy to me when the Lakers let him go when he was in his prime. Like that was wild to me. And then he went to the Clippers and started killing it. So the face is pretty strong. Barry: Yeah, he's a good post, man. So Yeah. Mm mm. Yeah. Yeah. No. I don't know, man. I'm still trying to process it really, like truthfully. Like my brother texted me when I was leaving from dropping my girls off of my mom's and like I was literally driving and I he was like, This shit can't be real, something like that. I like, ⁓ my god, I already know and then I mean No, I knew. I really did know, but I just hoped that I I don't even want to s no, they should have got more, I feel. Two first rounders. Shaun: I told you it was gonna happen, dog. The relationship was too far gone at that point. Barry: ⁓ what is it? A twenty-eight first round, twenty thirty-one first round, and then a twenty eight to twenty a twenty-eight second round and a twenty thirty second round. But I feel like there's some pick swap in there with it. Shaun: Two first rounders, two second rounders, I think. Well, isn't one of them unprotected too? Yeah. Barry: Yes. The twenty thirty one first rounders unprotected. The twenty twenty eight one, the Celtics get the more favorable of the first two rounders between Philly and the Clippers that year, twenty twenty eight. And then twenty thirty is the most favorable among Blazers, Suns, or Wizards. Yeah, yeah, these are all pick swaps from other I mean, all now these picks get traded so many damn times I don't even know where they come from. So mhm. Yeah. Yep, it'll change hands probably a couple more times, honestly. But no, I just ⁓ to me, ⁓ this wasn't a ch I don't again, I don't think this makes them contenders, unfortunately. Shaun: Yeah. It it gets so convoluted once you start to look at all the trades that happen. Because free it just started, so there's still gonna be picks that get thrown around everywhere too. I think that they still have a really a really strong team. Hmm. Barry: They do, I will agree with that. They're like I say, they're gonna be in the top three, four, I still feel. I feel like the Knicks lost and this is silver lining, like we snagged with Mitchell Robinson away from the Knicks. So that's I know he's not like a crazy but he's like we talked about you talked about J B being the seventh best guy 'cause of analytics. Mitchell Robinson is on the other and he's like an analytics guy's like wet dream, bro. So Shaun: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Respect. No. 'Cause he's he's a he Barry: I mean he's he plays twenty minutes, but he goes out and gets you can get you twenty rebounds in twenty minutes. Yes. And I that's what they lacked. No, he the Rodman, yeah, they lacked it. So now he'll No, it's fifty point eight, bro. Fifty point eight. Not fifty eight, fifty point eight. Barely, barely over one for two. Yeah. So Shaun: He can get you tons of boards. He's the new era Robinson dude or ⁓ Rodman. Like, he is the new era of the yeah. He can't shoot free throws to save his life, but but he can get you some boards. Yeah. Barely breaking halfway. I mean Barry: But no, he's he can I mean he's a big reason why New York won, bro. He did well against Wemby and so I think that's part of the reason why they probably went after him if they do get there. And if they did, I wouldn't be that surprised 'cause I don't know, like you said, bro, Joe Mazzula, he's a hell of a coach and he's gonna find ways to make everything a little bit better than what you feel it can be. So ⁓ and they're not I mean their starting five to me will probably be Pritchard, White, J T Shaun: ⁓ absolutely. Barry: Queta I don't know who else you throw in there. George, yeah. George would be a starter, I would guess. Hauser starting over? Right? Paying him fifty four million dollars. That's some starter money. Shaun: Almost feel like I almost feel like you have to start him. Yeah. But if you are gonna start him, how many minutes do you play him per game? Because you already know he can't hold up very well. So if you're gonna start him, you're gonna have to really watch those minutes, especially as you get closer to the end of the season. Barry: ⁓ man. Yeah. I mean he looked fresh in the yeah, he looked fresh but he came off that twenty five game suspension. So that's why he looked so fresh going into the playoffs. I'm not that's not a slight at him. I'm just saying factually. That's why ex well I mean, that's probably true too, but no. He yeah, like I say he was a big he he did well against Celtics, so ⁓ but nah it sucks that it was a divisional divisional rival, man. That's you're gonna see him and he's Shaun: He looked fresh because of why he came off of that 25 games of Switch. No, I'm joking. ⁓ my god. Barry: kinda gonna give it to you. So and like you say, it's he's not a villain, or at least not to me. He did nothing in this besides just say some things that are ill timed and even I mean, even that doesn't justify this. But again, like I said, I'm trying to see the financial potential of why 'cause Brad Stevens is a smart dude. I feel like he messed up on this a little bit 'cause I think if you get Giannis Shaun: He's a Yeah. Barry: This is all clean and it makes sense and people are like, Yeah, that's an obviously good trade for both people. But I feel like the seventy-six just got a better portion of this trade, in my opinion. So no. And you don't, you don't. This is true. Especially looking at, you know, you th looking at the pick swaps and who it could potentially be, like that makes more sense. So there's more value in those potentially. But Shaun: I can see that. I mean you never know what picks turn out to be, so it's one of those things like Mm. Barry: I don't know man, it's just hard to imagine J B not in Celtic Green, bro. It's gonna be no bro, it's the prettiest green of all. But I don't know. It's ⁓ it still hasn't set in, man. I already went to Google and they already took him off the team. I was like, damn, that was cool. Shaun: on that ugly ass green. That's that's true. Why not? I mean th so both of our teams had some big moves. Miami acquired Giannis. ⁓ Boston lost J B, I guess you can say lost if that if you consider that a loss and gain Paul George. But yeah. Barry: Yeah. No, I like their I like their signings, but it was a loss of JP. But p I mean, again, I appreciate Paul George. He's a hooper man. He'll come out and produce Shaun: But we do have a beast back in the east back in the east. You you talked about the claw coming back to Toronto. Barry: Dude. And that's what's crazy to me too. I think we texted about this yesterday, like Like Kawhi got two good players and how many picks? And he's how much older than JB? Like he's literally the older version of J B. But I mean he's great. ⁓ don't get me wrong. Hall of Famer, like he's a good player, but it's just bonkers that that the dynamic of those different trade values. When one literally just came off the a way better season than the other. Shaun: ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. I I guess that's that's where it comes down to what is it that these GMs are looking at when they're making these trades? Because it has to be, right? Barry: I don't know. It's bonkers to me. I mean part of it has to be the analytical part. Like that has to have a 'cause of what we heard, like to s to be able to say those words out loud, like he's the seventh best player, that is silly. Shaun: It it in all fairness it is. That's ridiculous to say. Yeah. Barry: That's silly. He's the s according to MVP voting, he was the sixth best player in the league and not one of the players in front of him was a Boston Celtics. So what are we really saying here? But I don't know, man. Now and not to say that like I said, Kawhi I think makes Toronto a super, super competitive contender in the East, if not in the in the league for a a a finals appearance championship potential. Shaun: Yeah. I mean he also has a lot of injury history too where he's not available. Yeah. Barry: And that's but and that's the whole thing to my point as well. Yeah, he has not been available. So but he had a good season last season. He has familiarity with try I mean shoot he bought it in their only damn championship. So he's gonna have a little more sway there for sure. Shaun: And it for sure makes sense on why Toronto would want to have him back. Because like you said, he brought them that championship. He was a very good leader on their team. But their team looked really different at the time. They don't have Fred Van Fleet anymore. Like they had like Grady Dick and they had Ingram, but like what are you gonna do now? Like I I don't know how they look. If he's gonna be at the helm and you don't have B.I. anymore. Barry: ⁓ yeah. Mm-hmm. It did, it did, no? It'll be interesting. I mean he will be, I would imagine. He's not gonna take a set back seat of Scottie Barnes. Shaun: He has to be. No. Which Scottie Barnes is a great two-way player. And he can learn so much from Kawhi. feel like that's probably why they're bringing Kawhi in. Just to be a mentor to Scottie Barnes, help him to grow and produce a little bit more. That's what makes the most sense in my mind. Barry: He is a great two way player for sure. He could. And that might just to be able to pass that on and carry it forward. Yeah. You might be right. Yeah. Shaun: Like you know that Scottie Barnes is your future, so how can we get him the best possible knowledge that we can in here? And who better to do it than the the fantastic two way player that bought us the championship? Barry: Yeah. No, it makes sense. But yeah. That was a big move. We talked about that one. And I mean, going what are the Clippers doing? Shaun: Yeah. That was a real big one. I don't know. I I I wanna say that maybe they're going into a rebuild. Because what else could they be doing right now? Barry: I don't know Collins went to Detroit. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Barry: I don't know what they're doing. don't know what the clippers are doing, bro. I don't Shaun: Yeah. I think they might just be trying to restructure or do something. Because that's the only thing that makes sense. San Antonio. ⁓ what were you saying? Barry: And they have what's in the ⁓ go ahead. I'll go say the only they have Darius Garland. That's it really now. They got him from the Harden trade and I don't really like e yeah. Anyways, San Antonio better topic conversation. Shaun: True. Yeah. Yeah, I about I mean I was about to say like Texas teams are doing pretty well. Like San Antonio re-signed Champagnie, so they've got him for three more years. ⁓ Marcus Smart is coming to Houston, which they've they've needed a true point guard. So that's gonna be big for them. I think so. I think he's a true point guard. I think he's ⁓ he's a good facilitator to where he can get people open, especially if you're talking about KD. I mean Barry: Yeah. But is Marcus that though? Yeah. Yeah. I mean if they're gonna keep K D, yeah, you ain't wrong but then they got Van Fleet too. Shaun: Yeah, but he's been out so much. Barry: I mean he tore his ACL, whatever, like a random ass accident. Yeah. I don't know, man. Yeah, that's the plan. That's what I'm saying. They got him and Smart. I don't know if Smart'll do you think he'll start over Van Fleet? Or just Shaun: Yeah. But he should be coming back. I feel like Smart would probably n I mean, maybe to start off until Van Fleet gets back into play in shape. But then you've got a good second string like point guard that can come out there and the minutes for Van Fleet is on the bench and still command the offense and make stuff happen. So I I think it's a good pickup for Houston. They did put everybody out there for availability though. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Maybe. Yeah. No, I think so. They need a little more Yeah, they need a little more maturity and a little more leadership. So I know Smart'll bring that for sure. Shaun: Because KD, I mean, as much as as much as I like KD, Texas boy, I mean, he went to UT, he did some great things, but he's he's just not a he's not a leader on the team. Yeah. He's a killer. He can go out there and get you a bucket. Yeah. But yeah, he's just not that he's not that locker room leader. Yeah. Barry: He's not a like no. And but I feel like he's it's said that. He's like, I'm not that guy that's gonna be like rah rah. He is. He will go out and get you a buck. He'll get you a couple easily. But no, he's not that I'm not gonna row the guys together. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. But now the Texas team, yeah, they brought ⁓ Tobias Harris down. Dude, Detroit got gutted. Shaun: Yeah. True. Detroit did, which is surprising to me after the season that they had. Barry: Dude, and they they started by trading away Thomas. And I was like, that makes sense. Like you kinda got Duren but now they might lose Duren. But I don't think he'll go to LA now with them getting what's his name? Kessler. Shaun: Yeah. I mean if they if they can't make it work. ⁓ exact yeah. ⁓ what's his name? Barry: That was a dude do you think that was a good sign and trade? Shaun: Dude, the la I don't know what the Lakers are doing either. They sound like four people in an hour. Which was crazy. Barry: Dude, they just went out and just like signed a whole bunch of people. Yeah, real quick, bro. Where was that? Hold on. Yeah, they traded for Kessler, sign and trade like a hundred and eighty for four years for him. And then Yeah, that's what and then they gave away two first rounders, twenty thirty-one, twenty thirty-three to Utah for him. And two first round swaps in twenty-eight and thirty. So four first round picks and a hundred and eighty million for Walker Kessler, bro. That's ⁓ no, I'm sorry. I'm over I'm over no, I'm over speaking. 130 million, but still, that's still I feel is over valued for him. Shaun: Mm. For Walker Kessler. He's more valuable than JB. Still. Yeah. Barry: valued for him. But then yes, they s they then they signed Sexton Grimes and ⁓ I can't even say his name, Mamu Kelashvili Shaun: ⁓ yeah, I saw that one too. Yeah. That's ⁓ it's like eighteen letters long. Yeah. Yeah. But Barry: Yeah, but like you said, they signed them all in like yeah. They signed them all in like a hour, bro. I don't know what they're doing. I mean they lost their guy and I guess they're just trying to add pieces around Luka now ⁓ and Kessler. It's gonna be interesting, bro. They they're going like all white boys. Like crazy. Shaun: But then they but they also lost ⁓ dang what's his name? The shooter, man. Yeah, Luke Conard. They also lost him too. And it Rui. It sounds like Rui's probably out too. Barry: ⁓ Conard Yeah, they did lose him. Mm hmm. And ⁓ Rui's probably gonna leave too. Mm-hmm. With all the signings they just did, I don't think they can bring him back. So yeah, I don't know what they're doing, bro. I mean, Rob Palenka might have a vision. I don't know. Shaun: Yeah. No. But yeah, you're right. They're going. He's betting on white. He said forget black, forget red. We're signing, we're betting all white. ⁓ man. Barry: Mm going down. ⁓ yeah. now the Spurs got Tobias Harris, you said brought back Champagnie I feel like they did a they did somebody else do an extension too. I can't remember now though. Shaun: I saw the Tebias Harris one and all I could think of was Tobias Harris over me. ⁓ Jimmy Buckets, man. Where and what's going on with him? Like they're not gonna be able to keep him in Golden State. Barry: Yo, Jimmy Butler has the wildest stories, bro. The wildest stories. Bro, if is he is he not on? Is he a free agent? Shaun: Well, I don't think that they're I think they're probably gonna have to trade If they're trying to pull the whole Bron thing. ⁓ Barry: You think? I I really haven't looked into their situation. I thought I like sounded like they could get all of ⁓ They were just gonna have an old ass squad. A bunch of old heads. Shaun: Well in Well, Washington took A D out of trade talks. But Barry: Yes, I heard that. Shaun: Did they do that until Bron is signed somewhere and then they will make him available again? Barry: Why would they do that? Shaun: Because if they have both of them out there at the same time, they're not gonna have all of the value that they would get from A D if Bron is still available. So if you have Bron go inside somewhere, then you've got more leverage for A D. Barry: I gotcha. I mean Maybe. I mean, I don't know. Bro, it's crazy what people value certain people at. Like I again, I can't wrap my brain around it sometimes. Like to me it's insane. I don't know. But yeah, it's a lot of movement dude. Like you say, Collins went to the Pistons. I mean that helps them, but I don't know what they're gonna do either. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. ⁓ Yeah. Yeah, I feel like they I I don't feel like they needed to make any changes. They had yeah, I would have run it back if I were them because they they had a really solid squad. And they're super they were super young. Yeah. Barry: They took a step back. Nah, they should have ran it back, bro. But I they traded Thomas just for Yeah, they were. And they traded Thomas just for picks. It wasn't even for a player. Shaun: Maybe they think they can they're trying to be like OK C. They're trying to get their people through the through the draft. But I mean I don't know if lightening strikes with that. Barry: Like I don't what Well. Yeah. Yeah, I mean Nah. I know this was day one, bro. This was a lot of things today, man. Like, for real. Nah, I think the next big one is definitely Bond, bro. But I feel like that one's gonna probably take a little bit. Like I don't I hope it's not drug out crazy long. Honestly I'm glad that the Jaylen Brown thing resulted got resolved so quickly 'cause Shaun: I know. It's crazy to think that this is just the beginning. This is day one of free agency. ⁓ for sure. Barry: I was so over like just like checking my phone every like ten minutes to trying to see if there was some damn update or what happened. So it's good that it's resolved, but ⁓ still hard pill to swallow. Still hurts. Still hurts. It's gonna be crazy to s and you know my w like this year my brother we got jerseys and I got his jersey. So I got a collector's item, bro. Nah, I don't know. Shaun: That is tough, man. ⁓ that you use American Express? If if you used Americ I was about to say if you used American Express, you can like swap it out as long as you got it within the same year. ⁓ my gosh, you're that loyal to this dude. Gosh. That's true. He's a heck of a player. Barry: ⁓ no. I would never do I wouldn't do that. I do. I appreciate Jaylen Brown, man. But I would not rock his jersey in in seventy sixers colors, so no. I'm gonna keep the original. It'll be a collector. When he retires a Celtic. Shaun: We'll see. ⁓ that reminds me? I have something I need to give you. I I'll I'll give it to you the next time I see you. It it has to do with the Celtics. So I I don't want it in my house. I gotta get it out. So I'll give it to you. That just reminded me. ⁓ man. Barry: No, I don't I hope. I hope. ⁓ ⁓ snap, it. I'll take it. Dang. ⁓ any other moves that I don't feel like anything else big. y y'all signed Miami signed Hardaway Junior? How you feel about that? That's pretty dope to have ⁓ the to have the junior and the senior. Shaun: Yeah, we got the legacy, bro. We got the legacy. The sun is coming. Yeah. I mean we we for sure needed a shooter, so it's good that we were able to get him, especially after losing. Yeah. After losing Norman Powell, we definitely needed somebody who can just be a spot up shooter and just be there available. And we've still got a little bit of space left. Not much, but we've got some space where maybe we can get a young player or Barry: Yeah. Yeah, I mean around Giannis you gotta get some shooters, bro. You gotta open that court up. Yeah, that's a big loss. Mm-hmm. Yep. Shaun: Maybe get a pick or something like that for next year so that we can fortify the backcourt a little bit more. Because the front court is set. Like we're we're set there. Yeah. But the backcourt we can definitely use some help there. Like we can get another guard or two, then that'll be great. Yeah. But Barry: Yeah, I feel like y'all are good. Y'all are straight for real. Yeah, yeah, I need a little bit of better improvement. No, I feel like ⁓ w we we'll both be in I feel like the Celtics and Heat will be similar situations. I I do. Shaun: Yeah. I feel like this is about to be ba just purely based off of the draft and what we've seen on opening day of free agency. And then also we had some big moves. We talk about ⁓ Melo Ball going up there to play with with Ant. We're about to have a very fun season. Yeah. Bron's going somewhere. Anytime Bron goes to a new team, that always Barry: Yeah, well it's gonna be it should be a fun season, right? It should be. On paper it You don't think he's gonna go to Miami at all? You don't think there's a chance? That's the only three I heard was him Miami, Cleveland and ⁓ the Warriors, like you said. Shaun: I would never I would never get my hopes up for that because I can't handle the disappointment. You know how s you know how sad I would be if I were to get excited about him coming? Don't do that to me. I would never do that to you, dude. Don't do that to me. If you're my boy, you won't do that to me. I would be crushed. Barry: Like yeah, you start to hear the the rumblings. I'm gonna start just sending you little every rumor that I see. I'm gonna send it to you just to get your hopes up, Shaun. No, I'm joke. I won't do that to you. I only send you funny stuff. I don't send you stuff like that. Shaun: I know. I if I if I ever thought that there was a real chance and got my hopes up and then he didn't come, bro, I'll that would hurt for real. Yeah. But I would love it. I don't I don't think that's gonna happen. I Barry: That would hurt. Exp I mean, especially with the history, that would hurt. For sure. Shaun: It's hard to even say it, but I don't think he would be a good fit right now either. Just because I mean, if you've got him, you've got Giannis and you've got Bam, that that's too we're that's too big of a team at that point. We need more speed, more quickness. Yeah. So I don't know. I will give Bron a shout out though. Dad of the year. He waited until his son got his guaranteed contract and then he talked about getting traded Barry: I mean and right now you gotta find that. So Little youth. Yeah. Smart man. Smart man. He knows what he's doing, man. Shaun: You can't you can't tell me he's not la GM. He is La GM for real. Yeah. Y'all know it. I like I even know it. I I joke around about it because he does pull strings, but he plays it so well that you can't you can't even hate on it. At all. So I don't know. Barry: He is. We all know that. If you don't, come on, y'all. For real. What are we talking about? We know it. Shaun: We'll see, man. It it's been exciting so far. I'm sure it's gonna keep being exciting. So ⁓ we'll keep you all updated. Anything that pops up that we find that's like super interesting, anything that we have days like this where there's so many things we like okay, we just gotta talk about it because we have to get it out. We we can't just sit on this. Yeah. I wanna say it. You gotta save it. So Yeah. Yes. Barry: Yeah, we just had to, man. We couldn't let it go until next episode. We were just like, No, we can't even talk to each other. It's like we look looking at each other like I wanna say something, but I can't. So we wanted to tell y'all and tell each other what we thought. Shaun: So be on the lookout. You might see a few more of these that come out as we keep getting these big updates that drop during free agency and if there's any more crazy like signing or pick swaps and things like that. Bron's gonna be massive. Yeah. I mean that's Barry: Probably the Bron. I bet you if Bron happens randomly we'll probably jump on and I'm sure some other things have will fall into place, some more dominoes and Shaun: Exactly. I gu I guess I need to buy a few more pair of Bron's shoes because once he leaves and goes to another team he's gonna have more colorways that come out, so I'm about to buy more. Barry: Yes, the colorways kill me, man. Shaun: I got too many pairs of shoes. I'm doing it. You know I'm gonna do it. ⁓ man. All right.
