- 0:24So let's jump straight into the episode.
- 0:27Enjoy.
- 0:29Hi everyone.
- 0:30I'm Belinda Smith from Renovate and Real Estate and this is the More Than Renovating podcast.
- 0:35We all understand that renovating is the vehicle
- 0:38of creating wealth and financial freedom, but along the road
- 0:42there are lots of little bits and pieces that we need to cover off on and be good at.
- 0:47And today I welcome Kylie Walker.
- 0:49Kylie Walker is from Property Mindset Dynamics dot com dot a-u.
- 0:55Kylie is an
- 0:55amazing coach, business coach and life coach.
- 0:59In the end, we've had many many conversations, Kylie and I, because we're both in the coaching
- 1:04space in one way, shape or form and we recognise that
- 1:08there are successful traits that are common
- 1:11in among people who actually get going, whether it be in property or their business.
- 1:15So today we're talking about traits of success for people.
- 1:19Welcome, Kylie.
- 1:22Hi Belinda, thank you for having me here.
- 1:23You're so welcome, Kylie.
- 1:25We laugh and cry together sometimes.
- 1:28While we do discuss things that we're both doing in our businesses.
- 1:32But in short, we recognise some real similarities
- 1:35between people or else people who actually get stuff going.
- 1:40So whether it be in the property development space, property renovation space, business
- 1:45or in life, and let's
- 1:48just kind of break down some of the things that we've witnessed and seen
- 1:52in people where they actually set themselves some goals and they reach those goals.
- 1:58I'm going to start with this.
- 1:59I think that successful people, they really focus in taking action
- 2:06in one course of events so they have focused action.
- 2:11Mm hmm. I agree.
- 2:13So they need to be clear on the outcome that they want to achieve.
- 2:17And then from there, when you have that clarity, then you know what actions
- 2:20you need to take in order to achieve that goal.
- 2:24And action.
- 2:25Imperfect or perfect action, Kylie?
- 2:29Often when we're waiting
- 2:32to take perfect action, we end up getting caught up
- 2:36in a cycle of analysis, paralysis and procrastination.
- 2:41And so we're in the property space.
- 2:43There's a lot at risk at times.
- 2:45And so many people don't want to make a mistake.
- 2:49And so they don't do anything.
- 2:51And that in itself could become the biggest mistake of all,
- 2:54because you think about the opportunity cost
- 2:57of not taking action and of staying stuck and in just the desperate search
- 3:02of more and more information in order to be able to make a decision.
- 3:06And I know from the hundreds of people I've coached over the years
- 3:09in the renovating, developing and just the investing space, or not just,
- 3:13also the investing space is when people are so
- 3:18fixated on not
- 3:19making a mistake, it paralyses them and stops them pretty much from doing anything.
- 3:24They'll invest more and more in courses and education.
- 3:27And most people I know already or most people I've coached already have enough information
- 3:32or they have access to all of the information and resources they need.
- 3:35They just need to be able to unlock themselves and unlock the fear
- 3:40that's stopping them from taking the actions they need to take.
- 3:43Exactly.
- 3:44I remember Brett and I went to New Zealand.
- 3:47We went there specifically to buy property.
- 3:49There was one lady on the bus.
- 3:51We were on this little bus tour and we had buyer's agents lined up.
- 3:55We we viewed probably seven to ten properties a day.
- 3:58We're on the fly.
- 3:59We did that for four days.
- 4:00On the fifth day, we put in all of our offers.
- 4:03One lady on the bus did the most feasos
- 4:06on every single property, but never ever bought one.
- 4:10She was tangled up trying to be perfect, tangled up wanting to only move forward on
- 4:15something she determined was never, ever going to cause her any issues or was the perfect property.
- 4:21But we were looking at properties that needed renovating.
- 4:23Older properties.
- 4:24There's no such thing as a perfect property when you're looking at older properties.
- 4:28So Brett and I, we were leaning into her.
- 4:31So were other people on the bus,
- 4:33mind you, we were all saying, Hey, you know, what did you think about this property?
- 4:36Boom! Making offers to real estate agents.
- 4:39We bought four properties in that five days, and most other people bought quite a few, too.
- 4:44This lady was still sitting around waiting for the numbers to work out
- 4:48just so perfectly, just there was zero tolerance for imperfection.
- 4:54And I see people just
- 4:56not making any steps forward because they're waiting for the perfect.
- 5:00The perfect does arrive sometimes, but by the time the perfect arrives, somebody who thinks faster
- 5:06and can move faster has already grabbed it or has already got something happening.
- 5:10So never, never worry about the perfect.
- 5:12Just move those steps forward.
- 5:14Keep moving forward and sort things out.
- 5:17A little bit on the fly.
- 5:19And it's those people that I see that just have laser focus on what they want to accomplish.
- 5:24Who just keep going at it and only that and trying to knock out
- 5:28other things that distract them along the way.
- 5:31They're the ones that I see that just get there.
- 5:34Get there in the end.
- 5:37Mm hmm.
- 5:38And I think when we're doing our research, like you describe with that lady on the bus,
- 5:42so she's got wanting to gather as much information as she possibly can.
- 5:45And clearly
- 5:46she had an issue with actually making the decision and pulling the trigger, so to speak.
- 5:50But I think it's important to have the information.
- 5:52We don't want to jump in and not make educated decisions.
- 5:56We want to have our eyes wide open.
- 5:58So we've got the information we need to look positive
- 6:01in the benefits of this deal or this project or this property.
- 6:04Looking at the negatives and looking at the risk of that, look, what could go wrong here?
- 6:08And then just determining you feel comfortable with that risk.
- 6:11So there's always risk in property no matter what.
- 6:14Pretty much.
- 6:14I think there is always risk to some extent.
- 6:18Yeah me too.
- 6:18There's risk in investing, but there's also a risk in not investing.
- 6:21There's a risk in just sitting, sitting and waiting with money in the bank,
- 6:25hoping that your money out plays inflation or inflation doesn't outplay your saved money.
- 6:31Like there's risk in action and in inaction. Hmm.
- 6:35So if you understand your numbers and you're looking at a property or a project
- 6:40and you're worried that you're paying too much and maybe it's just a small amount
- 6:43overall above what you wanted to pay or the numbers aren't that big
- 6:47in the big scheme of things, the risk of missing out
- 6:50on that deal in itself is
- 6:53the worst risk to be taking.
- 6:55Yes, so action and imperfect action is just better than doing
- 7:00nothing at all, especially when it comes to property.
- 7:05I see that successful people have a trait where
- 7:10they may not be
- 7:11the most intelligent person in the room
- 7:14A.K.A probably me
- 7:19but I'll call it a big engine.
- 7:21Just the ability to keep going and going and going
- 7:25and keep at it and at it over a long period of time.
- 7:29Like just the same with the same focus,
- 7:32the same job, the same goal in mind over a long period of time.
- 7:36It takes, it's like an endurance race.
- 7:39They're my thoughts.
- 7:40Have you seen people keep at things for a long period of time?
- 7:43I truly believe that if you are on a winner, a.k.a.
- 7:47property investing we know it works and you keep at it for a long period of time,
- 7:51it's inevitable that there be success in that realm.
- 7:55And I see it in people's business too.
- 7:57So where have you seen it in people?
- 8:00I say that it is a marathon, not a sprint.
- 8:03Yeah, I work with a number of people that want to get the results
- 8:07right away and they put so much pressure on themselves.
- 8:10And I was in a in a session last week with a client
- 8:13and I said to her, most people underestimate, overestimate what they can achieve
- 8:17in one year and underestimate what they can achieve in five years.
- 8:21I know the official quote is ten years, but I put it back to five years in this instance.
- 8:26So I think when we're looking at the results that we want to achieve in property
- 8:30and we look at it from that longer-term perspective,
- 8:32we're not expecting to change the world in one year.
- 8:35We put so much pressure on yourself, know you want to be able to take the action
- 8:39that you need to take, but you want to be able to take action with that
- 8:43longer term vision, knowing that as you're building the skills, as your learning
- 8:46how to do the research, as you're learning how to negotiate and learn all the skills
- 8:51that you need to learn in the property, investing, renovating space,
- 8:56then you're learning new skills for the long term and you're going to have the bumps in the road.
- 9:01You're going to experience the ups and downs.
- 9:03But if you're really connected to that vision,
- 9:05and you're committed to the goals that you want to achieve,
- 9:08then you'll keep taking the action despite the setbacks.
- 9:12So if you're looking for a get rich quick deal overnight, or if you're looking at, you know,
- 9:16wanting to change the world in one year, then when you have these setbacks, it's
- 9:20really going to throw you off course and it's really going to affect you.
- 9:24But if you're looking at it
- 9:24from a longer term perspective, you can stabilise yourself more easily.
- 9:29Okay.
- 9:29I just got to pick myself up and dust myself off, and I just keep taking these actions
- 9:33I need to take.
- 9:34Then you will keep continuing forward to achieve a goal.
- 9:38I agree.
- 9:39And those actions, those steps that we all need to take and that the successful
- 9:45people do take, that also involves
- 9:48building a network, building a support team around you.
- 9:52And I think that, you know, being kind to people and building that network
- 9:56and just giving and taking, that's what really opens up the floodgates to success.
- 10:02The more you talk about your business or your goals and the more you're in it,
- 10:06once you start taking those steps, then things just tend to flow for you.
- 10:12I can go really woo-woo here and we can talk about manifesting,
- 10:15but I really think that manifesting on its own, like sitting on a hill in Byron
- 10:19Bay with your legs crossed, looking up into the sun is not going to create wealth on its own.
- 10:24Might feel good in the moment and calm you down if you've had a really frantic few weeks.
- 10:29But it is taking those actionable steps forward and it is creating a network around you
- 10:35where you've got people at your fingertips that you can call on, that you can trust who light
- 10:39you up, who lift you up.
- 10:41All of that.
- 10:41That network is really important so I think successful people,
- 10:45they build their network and they just keep on plodding along.
- 10:49I agree.
- 10:50And when you're surrounded by growth minded people,
- 10:53it's amazing how your mindset opens up and how you start to really focus on the potential
- 10:58and the possibility rather than all the reasons why it won't work.
- 11:02So I know when I've spent a lot of time with my property friends versus
- 11:06my friends who aren't in the property space, the conversations are very different.
- 11:11And the risk tolerance of these different groups of people are very different as well.
- 11:15And so if you're a bit wobbly in your mindset and you're having some setbacks
- 11:19in the property space, if you go and share those concerns
- 11:22with people that are in the other world,
- 11:25they're probably going to say, Oh my gosh, it's so risky.
- 11:27Oh, gosh, you know, should you really be doing this and they'll really feed your fears
- 11:32whereas if you were able to only talk about those challenges
- 11:37with the people that are also doing a similar thing,
- 11:40you'll get a very different type of support from them.
- 11:43And often you just need to have the reassurance that, you know what?
- 11:46Yeah, I've been through difficult times as well and you will get through this or just keep doing
- 11:51the work. Your deal is just around the corner.
- 11:53But the like minded, growth minded people
- 11:56are the people that will keep you going when you need it most.
- 12:00Yeah, I agree.
- 12:01And especially people that are a couple of steps ahead of where you want to be
- 12:06when you see people that and your network becomes people that are just a couple of steps ahead
- 12:11but you look at them and you look at yourself
- 12:15not in a judgmental way, but in an assessment way, and you just think, wow, they just like me.
- 12:21They're really not any different.
- 12:23They just the same kind of person with the same kind of family things
- 12:28that come up and the same obstacles in their path and kids and nanas and all that kind of stuff.
- 12:34And you see that what they're able to achieve and it's it just makes it more real
- 12:40at the same time, they're on your team saying, Yeah, you can do this.
- 12:43You know, I've done it.
- 12:44You'll be you'll be able to do it to make such a difference than hanging out
- 12:48with the negative Nancy's of this world that just want to bring you down
- 12:52to, sometimes I think it's where they like you to be, you know, where they want you to stay
- 12:58because it feels better for them under the guise of they love you and they want to keep you safe.
- 13:03But at the same time it just keep it can keep you really stuck
- 13:06and can you said it before, bring up all of the fears.
- 13:10Start to really create that that big fear barrier
- 13:15which stops you from taking the steps forward that you need to take to get there in the end.
- 13:20And when we're on this property journey,
- 13:22it starts off being about wanting to increase your wealth.
- 13:26That's why we do it.
- 13:27But it ends up being a personal journey so we change
- 13:30as, we change as people along the way.
- 13:34So the people that want to keep you safe or from,
- 13:36shall we say, the old world, because we are entering a new world
- 13:38as we're growing and evolving and really starting to work on our personal growth.
- 13:42Because when you're in the property space and you're taking risks
- 13:45and doing uncomfortable things, you are forced to grow as a person.
- 13:49Whether you want to or not.
- 13:50If you don't, you're not going to get very far in this space.
- 13:53And so the people in the old world know the old version of you.
- 13:57And that's okay.
- 13:59But as you're growing and evolving and you're changing because your mindset is opening up
- 14:03and you're really leaning into the possibility and wanting to stretch and challenge yourself,
- 14:07you won't be resonating with the different groups of people quite the same anymore.
- 14:11This is why it's so important to lean
- 14:13into your communities and lean into that network of like minded people.
- 14:16So as you're going through that transition, and that personal growth,
- 14:20you need to be able to connect with people that are also in the same space.
- 14:26And like you said before, when people are a few steps
- 14:29ahead of you, it's such a great source of inspiration.
- 14:33So you can have your mentors who are on stage
- 14:36teaching you strategies and teaching you information and for some people
- 14:40their mentors feel a bit out of reach from where they're at when they're starting out.
- 14:45Yeah, true.
- 14:46Yeah.
- 14:46So when you have peers around you that have achieved success
- 14:50and they're a few steps ahead of you often, that's even more encouraging
- 14:54than the amazing successes of the super successful people.
- 14:58At the very high level, because there's a distance between where you are and where they are.
- 15:03And sometimes it's like, Oh my gosh, I don't know if I could ever be that,
- 15:06but if you're really connecting with the people that are a few steps ahead of you
- 15:10because they're closer, you can see a lot more of you in them and them in you,
- 15:15and it makes it easier for you to bridge that gap, especially when you're a beginner.
- 15:19Do you think that's why in-person workshops
- 15:22and being in groups and group training helps a lot
- 15:28I do.
- 15:28We learn a lot from our peers.
- 15:30Yeah, but often when we want to learn information, we want to learn it from the mentor,
- 15:34we want learn it from them themselves.
- 15:36But I actually think that we learn great information from them,
- 15:40but we learn so much from our peers and we find that support and we find that
- 15:46like-mindedness when we're having the conversations
- 15:48and sharing our successes and our setbacks and our fears
- 15:52and the experiences that we that we've had, we learn a lot from each other.
- 15:57Sometimes it's it's a underestimated and underrated.
- 16:00Yeah, the community.
- 16:03Alright!
- 16:04Another successful trait I see in people is a constant yearning to improve.
- 16:09So whether it be percentages of profit made on property,
- 16:13whether it be the speed that they do a renovation, whether it be in the way that they look
- 16:17after themselves on the daily, their time out, how they manage their time, like it's just
- 16:23constantly yearning to improve the little things that all add up to be a big thing.
- 16:29I agree, those little actions that you take every day.
- 16:33It's also they focus on their mindset as much as they focus on their business.
- 16:39Yeah, they do.
- 16:40So of course, I'm going to bring it back to mindset because I'm a coach.
- 16:44But you know what, so so you and I, that's why have you here, Kylie,
- 16:47and that's why you're involved in my community too.
- 16:50And I'm blessed to have you as part of my community is it's,
- 16:54it's three quarters of the game.
- 16:55So anybody who's listening and thinks that they might not have the money
- 16:59to get started, there's so many people who start from next to nothing
- 17:03and they just get it going.
- 17:04And there's so many people who start businesses
- 17:07from ground zero, I call it, and they get it going.
- 17:09Mindset is it.
- 17:10Mindset will outstrip anything,
- 17:14anything, any any position of wealth it really, you know, it really is it.
- 17:19I've coached of
- 17:21such a range of people in the property space from people just getting started
- 17:25and achieving extraordinary results, you know, doing
- 17:29$50 million worth of deals and stuff like that
- 17:32and also doing renovation flips, you know, building their investment portfolio.
- 17:38It's their mindset that sets them apart.
- 17:40So it doesn't matter where you start.
- 17:42It's the actions that you take that really determine the level of success that you achieve.
- 17:47I've seen people or coached people that have a wealth of experience
- 17:51and they've had setbacks, I guess similar to mine.
- 17:53You know, I had half a dozen properties I didn't really have a strategy.
- 17:57I sold properties I should have kept.
- 17:59Oh my gosh, I wish I kept them all. So do I.
- 18:03I wouldn't have to get out of bed.
- 18:05And I'll be rolling around in bucket loads of money is the line I often say,
- 18:09you know, if I knew now, I knew then what I know now.
- 18:13Yeah, but I've seen people that have had
- 18:17great property portfolios and they've had setbacks.
- 18:20You know, I had a pretty big setback
- 18:21in the GFC with the project that I was involved in and the ripple effect from that.
- 18:25Yeah.
- 18:25So I've seen people and work with people that have been in a similar situation
- 18:29and they've not been able to recover.
- 18:31So they're doing more courses and they're gathering more information.
- 18:35What they actually really need to do is more of the mindset work and more of the deeper
- 18:39inner healing work to overcome those setbacks and the fears that they
- 18:45that have been created because of the experiences that they've gone through.
- 18:49Yeah, I agree.
- 18:50We carry the baggage of our own selves plus we carry the baggage of those people
- 18:56that have influenced our lives right from when we were one two three and four,
- 19:01which are years that everyone talks about, those years being you know, the years
- 19:05that frame us, that that kind of make us who we are.
- 19:09So the messaging from our parents about wealth and money and success and hard work
- 19:13and all those things
- 19:14really carry through our lives, and they do impact our ability to make decisions.
- 19:18And if we've had something turn awful for us, you know, something
- 19:23that's turned to poop or something that's not been a good outcome,
- 19:27then yeah, we carry that extra baggage too, when we're starting to think
- 19:30about what we might do next or moving forward on a deal.
- 19:33Yeah, we're dealing with a lot, and it's all in our heads.
- 19:36It really is all in our heads. The money is the money. It's there.
- 19:39You can see how much you can borrow from the bank.
- 19:41You can see what income you already earned.
- 19:42That's a like a really tangible thing.
- 19:45What's in our head is a different beast.
- 19:48Alright, so that brings
- 19:49me to the last trait of successful people.
- 19:52That they welcome success into their lives, that they're not afraid of success maybe at first,
- 19:58but they get used to things
- 20:01coming their way and being good and are able
- 20:03to open their hearts and mind to accepting things that they might have
- 20:07always thought were impossible for them to achieve or earn.
- 20:11I think of money per month.
- 20:14People set goals and they think, Oh, if I can earn $10,000 a month, that would just be amazing.
- 20:19That would be a game changer.
- 20:21And then
- 20:21they start to earn that amount through property or whatever they're doing in their business.
- 20:25And then they set a new goal of $30,000 per month and think, Oh my goodness,
- 20:29this would be phenomenal. And then they grow into that
- 20:33and money no
- 20:34longer seems like it's a bad thing or an unattainable thing.
- 20:39It's just a thing.
- 20:41So accepting success and accepting growth and believing
- 20:45that you're worthy of success and growth, I that's, that's my take on the final trait.
- 20:51I think that is really important Otherwise, you know, that's when you hear about,
- 20:56you know, those people who earn or win the lottery
- 20:58and the next minute they've blown it, they've blown it all.
- 21:01You know, that's, that's a final trait, guys, is just being willing and open
- 21:05and feeling worthy of the good things that come your way.
- 21:10And being around like-minded people can help to support you as you are
- 21:14achieving your goals and as you are working through all of the emotions
- 21:18that come up when you are becoming the person that you've always wanted to be.
- 21:22And you are achieving the successes you want
- 21:24because a lot of people are afraid of their failures.
- 21:26They're afraid of their successes, too, which is what you've touched on.
- 21:29So it's a real thing.
- 21:31So if ever you feel like you're being held back or you're reaching this upper level limit,
- 21:35you know, there's a book written about that and talks about the upper level limits,
- 21:39how you'll start to self-sabotage when you hit this internal upper level limit
- 21:44because perhaps you don't feel like you're worthy of the success
- 21:47or the love or the happiness all your dreams coming true.
- 21:50So it's so important that we are aware of our actions
- 21:55and that we're taking responsibility for the actions that we are taking and
- 21:58that we're not taking, because they really impact where we go and what happens next.
- 22:04I agree.
- 22:05Is there anything else you'd like to add, Kylie, to our traits
- 22:08of successful people?
- 22:12Yes! They take radical self responsibility.
- 22:16Yes. They own everything that's going on.
- 22:19Yes, the good, the bad and the ugly.
- 22:22Yep, yep.
- 22:23We can all find all these reasons and excuses, why it's hard, why
- 22:26it didn't work and all that kind of stuff.
- 22:29But ultimately, if you truly want to achieve the success that you say you want,
- 22:33you have to take responsibility for everything that's happening in your life.
- 22:37Whether it's fair or unfair, the things will happen good things will happen,
- 22:41challenges will happen, you'll be let down, you'll be disappointed.
- 22:45You'll also be pleasantly surprised.
- 22:47The whole range of all of that is what's involved in this property space,
- 22:51because it's not there's no guarantees with anything.
- 22:54There is just you doing your research doing the work, making calculated decisions,
- 22:59staying consistent, staying persistent,
- 23:03doing what you need to do and taking responsibility for the outcomes.
- 23:07You have to own it.
- 23:08You seriously have to own your results and where you're at
- 23:12and working on.
- 23:13Oh, go Kylie!
- 23:13Was that powerful?
- 23:18And to work with Kylie, you can contact her at...
- 23:21Oh, it's so true though. We are.
- 23:24What's it called?
- 23:25There's a saying about it.
- 23:27Is like we are the the result
- 23:30of all of the decisions that we've made along the way, the good and the bad.
- 23:33Like that's where in it we're in this moment because we've created this moment for us
- 23:39from all of the things we've decided to do or not to do from a long time ago.
- 23:45And something that's really important.
- 23:47Actually, I've got two points I'll make here.
- 23:52One of the fundamental things that we
- 23:53learn as a coach is nothing has meaning but the meaning we give it.
- 23:56Yeah.
- 23:57So when something happens, it's not the event that happens that is generally the issue.
- 24:03I know some very challenging things can happen.
- 24:04I've had plenty of those happen in my world.
- 24:06Yeah, but what matters most is what you make it mean.
- 24:10And when we when we're super clear and what we've made this situation
- 24:13or this event mean, then we can look at how that's affecting us.
- 24:18Good point.
- 24:19Mhm. Yeah, good point.
- 24:21So, it's not what happens, it's the meaning that you attach
- 24:23to the thing that's happened is what matters most.
- 24:27So that leads me to the next point I wanted to make
- 24:29is the importance of really building your inner resilience.
- 24:33So we've touched on the challenges
- 24:34in this whole rollercoaster of a journey it is that you can be on at times.
- 24:38Yeah.
- 24:39But you need to be able to emotionally regulate yourself
- 24:42when you're going through the highs and the lows of the property space
- 24:46and during times of uncertainty and doubts and when you have to make big decisions.
- 24:51Yeah, but when you have to make big decisions, you go back to the data,
- 24:54you go back to your research, you go back to your numbers and you rely on those
- 24:59something that I
- 25:00suggest to my clients is writing down a decision log.
- 25:03So when you have to make a decision, you're like,
- 25:04Oh my gosh, I don't know what I should be doing here.
- 25:08And you've gone through the positive
- 25:09in the negatives and all of the different aspects of this decision.
- 25:12I ask them to write it down.
- 25:14So then when they get to the point that they've made that decision
- 25:18and then they flip into the doubt afterwards, I suggest they go back and read their decision log
- 25:23and that reminds them of why they made the decisions and the data they had at the time.
- 25:28Yeah.
- 25:28So even if things don't go according to plan, even if there is a plot twist
- 25:33rather than beating themselves up, they can go back to the information
- 25:37that they wrote down the decision log
- 25:40and go, Okay, based on what I knew then, this is the reason why I made that decision.
- 25:44And that really helps people with the self-acceptance
- 25:47you know, with knowing that they made the best decision they could at the time.
- 25:51It also helps people with their acceptance of other people around them
- 25:55and the action that other people have taken that maybe even affect their lives.
- 25:59When we look at things that have happened to us or we've been in among or associated
- 26:04with those people, we're doing whatever they were doing at that moment with all the information
- 26:10that they had at home, at hand, and hopefully with the best intentions.
- 26:14So it's it can it's a really nice way of looking at the situation
- 26:19and maybe forgiving other people around us for things that have happened in our lives as well.
- 26:24You know, it's it's very powerful. Thank you, Kylie.
- 26:28You're welcome.
- 26:30Alright.
- 26:30Last nuggets.
- 26:35When you master
- 26:35your mindset and you stop second guessing yourself and you truly back yourself,
- 26:40that's when you get the wins, when you keep taking actions
- 26:44you need to take and you keep showing up.
- 26:47Just keep doing the work.
- 26:47Don't expect the get rich quick things to happen for you. Yes.
- 26:52Some people achieve great successes
- 26:53but you know, what I'm most impressed by are the people that have successes
- 26:57and stay persistent and stay consistent
- 27:00and achieve their longer term goals.
- 27:03And long and successes over a longer term because anyone can just wing it
- 27:09and have extraordinary success because inverted commas, they were lucky
- 27:12or they timed the market well and they were riding the boom of the property cycle.
- 27:16I did that. I felt like a superstar.
- 27:18Anyone can do that. If you're taking action and just buying.
- 27:21But it's can you continue to create success and do profitable deals regardless
- 27:27of where the property cycles at because you've learned the skills that you need to learn
- 27:31that you're taking the educated
- 27:34actions.
- 27:35So you're educating yourself and you taking the actions that you need to take
- 27:38and that you are continuing through regardless of the setbacks.
- 27:41The success achieved over the longer term, I think is what's most impressive.
- 27:46Me too.
- 27:46Consistency and resilience over a long period of time.
- 27:49It gets people there.
- 27:51I've seen it actually.
- 27:52I've not seen people fail
- 27:54who've just kept showing up, kept showing up, kept showing up, kept showing up.
- 27:58That's the truth.
- 27:58In working with now more than 800 in the Renovation Mastery group
