- 0:00Speaker 1: Markets are heating up and could bitcoin make its way
- 0:02Speaker 1: to one hundred and thirty k before it retraces. Will
- 0:05Speaker 1: break it down for you. My name is Paul Barron.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Let's jump back into the show today. I want to
- 0:09Speaker 1: thank our sponsor in that Assault Lending. If you guys
- 0:11Speaker 1: are looking at maybe taking the timing right on getting
- 0:15Speaker 1: a bitcoin loan or digital asset loan, you can jump
- 0:17Speaker 1: over to Salt Lending dot com and do that right now.
- 0:19Speaker 1: As bitcoin comes down, that's the time to go in
- 0:23Speaker 1: and actually take a little bit of that in a
- 0:26Speaker 1: loan on your digital asset.
- 0:28Speaker 2: That's the way to do it.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Don't sell it, in fact, leverage against it and work
- 0:33Speaker 1: that into your financial plan. You can unlock wealth but
- 0:35Speaker 1: and the potential of your bitcoin just by jumping over
- 0:38Speaker 1: to salt. Just in, one hundred and sixty million off
- 0:41Speaker 1: of crypto lungs liquidated in the past hour, So this
- 0:43Speaker 1: could just be well, this is what happens when you
- 0:45Speaker 1: have these lungs going at this level. So quickly, let's
- 0:50Speaker 1: take a look at some other things. Of course, one
- 0:51Speaker 1: of the scenarios that plays into this is going to
- 0:53Speaker 1: be gold. Gold price is hitting record hires near four
- 0:56Speaker 1: grand an ounce, and everybody's still looking at this with
- 1:00Speaker 1: with global uncertainty, what we're dealing with obviously with the
- 1:02Speaker 1: government shutdown, is it in an alternative out there along
- 1:06Speaker 1: with bitcoin? I think that's the way people are playing
- 1:09Speaker 1: this right now. Are we in a currency confidence crisis?
- 1:12Speaker 1: This is the thing everybody's questioning. Gold futures officially hit
- 1:16Speaker 1: a record four thousand an ounce. Last time gold doubled
- 1:19Speaker 1: in under two years was in nineteen seventies after we
- 1:23Speaker 1: saw Bretton Woods happen. So there you go, maybe it's
- 1:26Speaker 1: happening again. Does this play against the dollar? Do we
- 1:30Speaker 1: start to see maybe bitcoin and other digital assets also
- 1:33Speaker 1: come to this party playing out. Let me go to
- 1:35Speaker 1: a quick clip. This is Ken Griffin talking about dedollarization.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I mean, it's part of the reason the dollars depreciated
- 1:43Speaker 3: by about ten percent in the first half of this year.
- 1:45Speaker 3: It's the single biggest decline in the US dollars six
- 1:50Speaker 3: months in fifty years. Gold is at record highs, and
- 1:56Speaker 3: the appreciation in other dollar substitutes it's to use that
- 2:01Speaker 3: word loosely, and items like crypto, for example, is unbelievable.
- 2:08Speaker 3: So we're seeing substantial asset inflation away from the dollar,
- 2:13Speaker 3: as people are looking for ways to effectively dedollarize or
- 2:17Speaker 3: de risk their portfolios visa THEUS sovereign risk. I now
- 2:21Speaker 3: view gold as a safe harbor asset in a way
- 2:24Speaker 3: that the dollar used to be viewed. That's what's really
- 2:28Speaker 3: concerning to me. And there's been plenty of published research
- 2:33Speaker 3: in recent weeks months about foreign investors now when they
- 2:37Speaker 3: buy US equities, hedging the returns back to their local currency.
- 2:43Speaker 3: So that again is a bifurcation of I'm going to
- 2:46Speaker 3: bet on American business, but I want to immunize some
- 2:49Speaker 3: of my sovereign exposure to the Unied State.
- 2:52Speaker 1: This is going to continue, I think, to push a
- 2:56Speaker 1: lot of people into alternative assets, whether it's bitcoin, ethereum,
- 3:00Speaker 1: other digital assets out there, including gold and silver. We'll
- 3:03Speaker 1: get into that in a minute. Here's Pompleano talking about
- 3:06Speaker 1: is bitcoin actually the debasement trade.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Take a look, and I you see investor saying, wait
- 3:11Speaker 4: a second here, This quote unquote debasement trade means that
- 3:14Speaker 4: I don't have to go do all that work. I
- 3:16Speaker 4: can simply just go and buy something like bitcoin. And
- 3:18Speaker 4: I think that really maybe the story of finance of
- 3:20Speaker 4: this decade is that Bitcoin is becoming the hurdle rate.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Historically, we've looked at things like the SMP. If you
- 3:25Speaker 4: go back to twenty twenty, the SMP's up one hundred percent.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Since twenty twenty, priced in bitcoin is down ninety percent.
- 3:31Speaker 4: All of the returns that people are talking about in
- 3:33Speaker 4: traditional finance, most of them are negative because no one
- 3:36Speaker 4: can beat bitcoin, and so if you can't beat it,
- 3:37Speaker 4: then we just say you got to buy it, and
- 3:39Speaker 4: I think that's what a lot of investors are starting
- 3:40Speaker 4: to do. Gold has done better than bitcoin this year.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Do you think in the crypto community they see gold
- 3:46Speaker 5: as an ally or is it a competitor.
- 3:49Speaker 4: You know, it's funny that on one hand, bitcoin and
- 3:52Speaker 4: crypto folks that they're brothers in arms right in the
- 3:55Speaker 4: fight against currency debasement. On the other hand, I think
- 3:58Speaker 4: that the gold bugs are having a field days. They're
- 4:00Speaker 4: outperforming bitcoin. I think gold's up fifty percent this year,
- 4:02Speaker 4: bitcoins up about thirty three percent. What I will say
- 4:05Speaker 4: is that the average return since twenty fifteen of bitcoin
- 4:07Speaker 4: and Q four is sixty percent. So the gold bugs,
- 4:10Speaker 4: you know, you're not at the finish line for the year.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Yet let's see what happens.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Well, we're going to see what happens. Peter Schiff, of course,
- 4:16Speaker 1: is having his day right now, and he accuses the
- 4:19Speaker 1: financial media to continuing to perpetuate the false narrative that
- 4:23Speaker 1: bitcoin is digital gold. Every time they mentioned gold, they
- 4:26Speaker 1: interject bitcoin. This is either because they've bought into the
- 4:30Speaker 1: con themselves or they're beholding to their crypto industry advertising.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I don't know that that would be the case.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I think it is in general a framework of how
- 4:39Speaker 1: to report on it for mostly mainstream Wall Street and
- 4:42Speaker 1: investors to understand what bitcoin is. Goldman Sachs, though, is
- 4:46Speaker 1: raising its gold price to forty nine hundred.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I don't know if this is.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Going to be toward year end or if we're looking
- 4:52Speaker 1: at a continued up track here for gold and silver.
- 4:55Speaker 1: And remember we've done a couple of silver videos talking
- 4:58Speaker 1: about availability and even scarcity of it that is going
- 5:01Speaker 1: to continue to create some demand. Things that you've got
- 5:04Speaker 1: to consider, is this right here? Silver is up sixty
- 5:08Speaker 1: eight percent year to date right now, and it's it's
- 5:11Speaker 1: getting to a point where people are starting to wake
- 5:13Speaker 1: up to this. I think if you've been watching everybody,
- 5:15Speaker 1: as you already have known about this. But the point
- 5:17Speaker 1: being is that there is a lot happening now Beyond that,
- 5:21Speaker 1: You've got to take a look at the economy. One
- 5:23Speaker 1: thing that is interesting because I think a lot of
- 5:25Speaker 1: people are now recasting what they're most interested in in
- 5:29Speaker 1: terms of performance of this economy and this administration. Prices
- 5:33Speaker 1: in inflation lead across all sectors of both the left, center,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and right. Housing, economic health, and social lead pretty much
- 5:44Speaker 1: most on left and center. I think these are the
- 5:46Speaker 1: big ones that do impact society and also the economy
- 5:50Speaker 1: a lot. Right now, I want to go to a
- 5:52Speaker 1: clip real quick because this will get into a little
- 5:54Speaker 1: bit more detail about whether or not this economy is
- 5:57Speaker 1: going to put some more pressure on the FED in
- 6:00Speaker 1: reference to the next potential rate cut coming at the
- 6:02Speaker 1: end October.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 6:04Speaker 5: So inflation's going sideways, and this is why I'm I'm
- 6:07Speaker 5: at the FED. I want to be very careful not
- 6:11Speaker 5: to go too much further with rate cuts when you've
- 6:15Speaker 5: got inflation this much above target. I want to really
- 6:18Speaker 5: I need to be convinced that the weakness in the
- 6:21Speaker 5: labor market is sustained or maybe getting worse, Because I
- 6:24Speaker 5: think the neutral rate is not that much below where
- 6:28Speaker 5: the FED is right now, and I think you're I
- 6:31Speaker 5: think part of the sluggishness in the in the labor
- 6:34Speaker 5: market and in hiring is due to what's going on
- 6:37Speaker 5: with small business.
- 6:38Speaker 4: So when you say you don't want them to go
- 6:39Speaker 4: too much farther, you think one more is appropriate or
- 6:42Speaker 4: do we not know?
- 6:43Speaker 5: So the way I would look at it, my own
- 6:45Speaker 5: view is the neutral rate right now. Most aggressive case
- 6:49Speaker 5: I can make for the neutral rate is it's in
- 6:51Speaker 5: the neighborhood of three and a half three and three
- 6:53Speaker 5: quarters percent. It's different than other people have said. That's
- 6:56Speaker 5: two and three quarters percent inflation and three quarters a
- 7:00Speaker 5: one percent real. Okay, we're at four to four and
- 7:03Speaker 5: a quarter right.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Now, so there's room.
- 7:05Speaker 5: There's not much above target. Inflation is a regressive tax
- 7:11Speaker 5: on eighty eighty five million workers. American workers who make
- 7:15Speaker 5: fifty to fifty five rand a ear or less have
- 7:17Speaker 5: lost twenty five percent purchasing power stocks. They don't have
- 7:21Speaker 5: financial assets, and they're struggling to make ends meet.
- 7:26Speaker 1: All right, So there are some pressures right now that
- 7:28Speaker 1: I think we'll play into Powell's predicament coming up here
- 7:32Speaker 1: at the end of October. If you look at polymarket,
- 7:35Speaker 1: how many federaly cuts still holding on three we've got
- 7:39Speaker 1: the one end. Two more would be October into October
- 7:42Speaker 1: and early December for two more twenty five basis point cuts. Now,
- 7:47Speaker 1: with all that being said, what that analyst was kind
- 7:50Speaker 1: of alluding to is inflation and how this looks in
- 7:54Speaker 1: the near term and possibly in the long term. If
- 7:56Speaker 1: you look at trueflation right here, this is on the
- 7:58Speaker 1: annual you that dip off of when we were at
- 8:02Speaker 1: our highest which was last December right there, hovering over
- 8:05Speaker 1: three percent down to our lowest back here in April,
- 8:09Speaker 1: dropping to as low as one point two. But since
- 8:12Speaker 1: then it has been a steady climb up. So the
- 8:16Speaker 1: real question has Palell tamed it or not. I think
- 8:20Speaker 1: this is a very critical time for the Fed, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: of course it's a very critical time I think also
- 8:25Speaker 1: for the market because part of this is still pushing
- 8:28Speaker 1: into I think two factors right now, one debasement on
- 8:32Speaker 1: the dollar and two what we're seeing on the economic side,
- 8:36Speaker 1: which will of course effectuate what we're going to see
- 8:38Speaker 1: on these Fed rate cuts. Those are going to be
- 8:40Speaker 1: the driving force behind where this market goes from here.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Now there is a bitcoin contingent out there that's calling
- 8:47Speaker 1: for one hundred and twenty four k pivotal position. If
- 8:50Speaker 1: you look at a couple of notes here, one thing
- 8:53Speaker 1: to consider is this passive selling on coinbase and taker
- 8:57Speaker 1: selling on binance. This of course led back to leading
- 9:00Speaker 1: glory when going back down one twenty three K or
- 9:03Speaker 1: one hundred twenty three two. I think this is the
- 9:05Speaker 1: real question is is does this continue. If it does,
- 9:09Speaker 1: then it maybe gets us back down to say one
- 9:11Speaker 1: to eighteen point seventeen. But I think the bigger upside
- 9:14Speaker 1: here is still an all time high coming in October.
- 9:18Speaker 1: That still is my prediction is that we could see
- 9:20Speaker 1: the one thirty actually playing out. For sure, wouldn't be
- 9:24Speaker 1: surprised to see a fake out below it. But overall,
- 9:27Speaker 1: a few weekly closes about one twenty three is needed.
- 9:29Speaker 1: This will set the stage for the next twenty to
- 9:32Speaker 1: thirty percent rally in the coming weeks, and that's I'm
- 9:34Speaker 1: in agreement with that. I do think that you know
- 9:36Speaker 1: that one thirty could get blasted through. I'm kind of
- 9:39Speaker 1: in the line of in October, the potential for a
- 9:45Speaker 1: one thirty K to one forty K bitcoin The real
- 9:48Speaker 1: question is is that the top when that occurs, let
- 9:51Speaker 1: me know in the comments what you guys think where
- 9:53Speaker 1: bitcoin is going to be heading from here in the
- 9:56Speaker 1: month of October. Okay, in the month of October. Now,
- 9:59Speaker 1: if you kind of consider are all things you have
- 10:01Speaker 1: to look at, where is the potential for this asset
- 10:05Speaker 1: to continue to go up? Let me go to this
- 10:07Speaker 1: clip because it explains about current investors.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Do you think there's still people out there that are like, oh, Karen,
- 10:14Speaker 6: I just don't know I buy bitcoin.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I'm on the fence. Do those fence sitters still exist too?
- 10:20Speaker 5: Oh?
- 10:20Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, Brian. There's a Bank of America survey from
- 10:23Speaker 6: a few weeks ago that showed more than sixty percent
- 10:25Speaker 6: of investors still owns zero percent exposure with the digital assets.
- 10:29Speaker 6: That's quite a lot. The next step, and really what
- 10:31Speaker 6: Congress legislation is really enabling is for the rest of
- 10:35Speaker 6: the digital assets to really have their place ethereum Solana.
- 10:38Speaker 6: These things are large tech platforms that are now growing
- 10:41Speaker 6: at a rapid pace, and we believe Slana is on
- 10:43Speaker 6: pace to be what could be the next generation megacap
- 10:46Speaker 6: tech company.
- 10:47Speaker 1: All Right, So there you go. We've got a lot
- 10:49Speaker 1: of potentials here and other assets.
- 10:52Speaker 2: But really I.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Think the question mark is how traditional investors look at
- 10:56Speaker 1: crypto in general, blockchain and kind of its future. If
- 11:00Speaker 1: they see it like an AI play as early stage,
- 11:03Speaker 1: then we could see a lot of access coming into
- 11:06Speaker 1: the market. Other things you got to look at crypto
- 11:08Speaker 1: funds now saw a record five point ninety five billion
- 11:11Speaker 1: in inflows last week. This of course surpassed the previous
- 11:14Speaker 1: week five billion. Other things you kind of have to
- 11:17Speaker 1: look at in general is the year to date on
- 11:19Speaker 1: Ethereum is now seeing a record thirteen point seven billion
- 11:22Speaker 1: in inflows, nearly triple.
- 11:24Speaker 2: That of last year, so very solid.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Last Salona XRP both recorded inflows last week of seven
- 11:30Speaker 1: hundred and six million and on two hundred nineteen four million, respectively.
- 11:34Speaker 1: This is the kind of inflows that we are seeing
- 11:36Speaker 1: over on coin shares. And I think the point being
- 11:39Speaker 1: here guys is there is a lot still to go
- 11:42Speaker 1: in terms of trad five markets coming into this. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: think this is mostly still crypto markets trading in crypto today,
- 11:50Speaker 1: even though we are seeing institutional of course playing into that.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Took a nice funds also will play into this.
- 11:55Speaker 1: This is a market cap that could be a target
- 11:58Speaker 1: of one point nine trillion to galaxy by twenty thirty.
- 12:02Speaker 1: This would be big if we started to see those
- 12:04Speaker 1: kind of numbers the investible universe. Two point zero is
- 12:08Speaker 1: kind of what they're getting at of being the one
- 12:10Speaker 1: point nine trillion, but they're thinking also that this could
- 12:13Speaker 1: also slide up to as much as three point eight
- 12:16Speaker 1: trillion if adoption accelerates, and that's the key thing. If
- 12:19Speaker 1: adoption truly does accelerate, there is a big opening here
- 12:24Speaker 1: for this twelfth sector to really become something very big
- 12:29Speaker 1: and very fast. Other things you have to consider right
- 12:32Speaker 1: here is the strategy that you're taking around investing. A
- 12:36Speaker 1: lot of people looked at this, you know, was trading
- 12:39Speaker 1: was a discipline about managing positions, precision, all that kind
- 12:42Speaker 1: of stuff. It's kind of changed a little bit, and
- 12:45Speaker 1: now the most important thing it's rather than be comfortable,
- 12:48Speaker 1: uh with what you're doing, it's actually having a ton
- 12:51Speaker 1: of risk on most of the time. Those are going
- 12:54Speaker 1: to be the things that actually start to leverage the
- 12:57Speaker 1: difference between an average investor and someone who's going to
- 12:59Speaker 1: win on this.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Because this is a.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Very intriguing time right now, everybody that probably watches our show,
- 13:05Speaker 1: you're probably up. There's always opportunities here to do profit taking,
- 13:09Speaker 1: which I recommend again not financial advice, but the point
- 13:12Speaker 1: being is is you have to look at your own
- 13:14Speaker 1: position if you're in the right place at the right time.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'm Bitcoin and Ethereum both in pretty consistent spots based
- 13:20Speaker 1: on the lows that we saw in these bear markets.
- 13:23Speaker 1: So if you were with us during the bear market,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you're in pretty good shape.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Just a quick look over on this.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Chart right here is this point right here that we've
- 13:31Speaker 1: inflected on is the retracement on today's red candle coming
- 13:35Speaker 1: off that one twenty four after the one twenty six high,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and the question that we've got good volume, sentiment and
- 13:42Speaker 1: pretty much all things clicking still on bitcoins, so this
- 13:46Speaker 1: may be a short lived retracement. We're going to be
- 13:50Speaker 1: watching it very closely. Along with that and Ethereum and
- 13:53Speaker 1: some of the key projects that are out there, including Solana,
- 13:56Speaker 1: Sweet Avalanche, all those will be reporting on this week,
- 13:59Speaker 1: So make sure and stick aroun For all that get
- 14:01Speaker 1: in on the diamond circle, it's a great place to
- 14:02Speaker 1: get additional content from me, and of course follow me
- 14:05Speaker 1: out there. On x at Paul Baron. We'll catch you
- 14:08Speaker 1: next time, right here on the Paul Baron Show.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Thank you.
