We'll be doing it on all the social media platforms. But with that, we can get into the podcast, starting into our weekend recap. And you might see that we have a familiar face here. Ethan is back with the podcast. Matt couldn't be this be here this week. He had some work stuff come up, so Ethan's filling in his place. Wouldn't have it any other way. Happy to have Ethan here as the co host. Ethan, how are you doing? Doing great, doing great. How are you? Doing well, doing well. I ⁓ I think last week on the podcast I told everyone I was going to Miami. And I did go to Miami, but you might look at me and be like, He doesn't look that tan. ⁓ I did go to Miami. I did not get to have the beach day that I was hoping for. It did rain on Saturday, so we had to pivot and we ended up going out to some of the bars in the area and got to go see some of the see the sites in the in the area as well, include some pictures on the podcast. ⁓ but I did get to see the Miami Hard Rock Stadium. Where the Dolphins play and I guess also the Miami Hurricanes. ⁓ we actually tried to get pretty close to the stadium and we we were only able to get to about where like I guess there's an F one track. I didn't realize that goes around the stadium. So we got onto the F one track, took some pictures, but there was a preseason game on that Friday. So we only could get so close to the stadium without tickets to the actual game. ⁓ that'd have been a cool stadium to go and just watch preseason game. Yeah, well I was just I was just wanting to go see some of like the the sports spots of Miami that I've always seen on T V that I've never actually been able to see. So it was cool to be like and also I think the picture might be cooler just 'cause we're on the F one track. I've that's my first time ever on an F one track. I actually I drove the rental car on an F one track, so I can now say on the podcast I've driven on an F one track. I'm I'm technically a racer now. They that's right. You don't have to tell ⁓ what kind of car you drove. You just say I can You know, maybe the Nissan Rogue didn't go as fast as a as a F one car, but you know, we still got to take a take a corner on it. So I'll consider it a success there. And it's still pretty cool though. Yeah. And then we also got to check out the ⁓ Casia Center. I believe I'm saying that name right. I used to be the American Airlines Center in Miami, but that's where the Heat play basketball. ⁓ if you don't know who the Miami Heat are, you probably shouldn't be listening to the sports podcast right now. But I got to see the Dwayne Wade statue. And I'll include a picture of that as well. That w had some controversy a couple years ago, I think, when it was unveiled. ⁓ it didn't really look like Dwayne Wade. I could see where a lot of the controversy came from. I got to see it up close and personal. It was pretty cool just to see like he is considered like the king of Miami. Yeah. In Wade County. So I I was cool to see that statue and then also just got to go check out South Beach and some of the areas around there. Once again, didn't really get to get too tan, but just more of a reason to go back to Miami and goes Go check out the beach again. Right. Miami's it's a pretty iconic spot. Yeah, I will say the traffic in Miami, no one ever talks about this. The traffic was crazy and also Florida drivers are a little different than Texas drivers. They they treat lanes as a suggestion. Okay. Okay. They're all over the place. That'll be one to put in the notebook for if I ever go to Miami. Yeah, if you ever find yourself in Miami, I'd highly suggest just be expecting the traffic to be a little crazy and the drivers should be even crazier. ⁓ I did whenever I got back, speaking of, you know, driving and stuff, I did have car issues. So I had to go get my my battery. I came back and my truck's battery was dead. So that was a fun little thing on Sunday to to come home to from vacation after flying on the flying and being at the airport for four hours. ⁓ so I had to go get all that stuff fixed. But you know what? We live and learn and and we're we're moving now, so we're all we're all good. ⁓ and then also just this week I have fantasy football started up for me. Been a busy week at fantasy football. We're back. I have two drafts this week. I have one on Tuesday and Wednesday. So if the episode's a little late getting out, I was too busy drafting my perfect fantasy football team. Is ⁓ the the one I'm in is that's next week, ain't it? That's next, yeah. Next Monday was our draft for ⁓ Stick Talk. We have a stick talk draft. I got the night I think I got the well, I got the eighth pick in that draft and then my other two this week. I have to pick number four and pick number ten. So I'm gonna get to be in all the different areas of the draft. It's I I try and stick to only three fantasy football leagues. I find like that's the perfect balance. Yeah. Anyone that's in more than that, I feel sorry for you. Also if you're in a dynasty league, you probably aren't in three leagues then, but Yeah, I'm in ⁓ three this year and it's kinda about my max. Three's the perfect balance. Four is like, dude, you're starting rooting for crazy stuff in fantasy football to happen. Well, and two, like for me, I try to draft like players that I don't have in my other leagues. Yeah, you sure don't get crazy with it. Well, I'll draft like I don't want to draft like the same team if possible in all three leagues. So I'm like, hey, what about if like if this guy gets hurt, then I'm screwed for three different leagues and also I try to kind of go a little bit different. I may get some people the same, but I try to go Different. Yeah, like my dark horses are all still the same, but like I'll go pick four, ten, and eight. I'll be drafting someone completely different, like a different cornerstone for my team. So Yeah. And then you get into the place you're like, I need this to happen, but I need this guy not to get as many points in this game, but i I need like a safety over here from the defense or it's just yeah, it's serving for crazy stuff the more leagues you're in. Honestly, it's I just try to whichever league's the money league or my like Top league, then I'm like, all right, this is the one I care about. This is the one I care about. This is the one where if we need certain things to happen, I want it to happen for this like this league and team than the other ones, but Yeah, I can't imagine the people that have drafts before preseason ends. That's just pretty I think that's tough to do, especially 'cause like this pre season it seems like there's been a new injury every day going on. So Yeah, Alex Hines in my family league who set up the draft to like a week or two ago. Yeah. The people that draft like at the beginning of August, like that's different. I mean, he'd probably want to if like if he could. Yeah. That's that's insane. Ethan, before we get to more of the show, what have you been up to? It's been a while since you've been on the podcast. It's probably been like twenty something episodes since you joined us. Yeah. ⁓ not so much. Just kind of my usual. I'm ⁓ trying to get all my fire and EMT stuff done and then just doing a little gaming here on the side. Yeah, and you do have a a gaming Twitch out there, right? Yes, I've been on Twitch. I do ⁓ some GTA like RP. ⁓ it's pretty fun. Y'all can ⁓ If anyone wants to go follow Ethan on Twitch, just do Ethan and then three underscores and his it's Ethan game should pop up. Yep. I went and actually just followed. Shout out to me. I was the hundredth follower on his Twitch. Yeah, there we go. So we're on it any other way. Yeah. I'm especially speaking of GTA, ⁓ the GTA six, I know we're a sports podcast, but I just wanted to say this real quick after going to Miami. GTA six is supposed to be based in Miami. So I was driving around in the rental car and I was like, I'm kind of getting ready for the game to be. Yeah, you're already get I'm I got boots on the ground. They b they better get the traffic right and the Florida drivers the same in that. So it was wild. That would be ⁓ I mean gotta make it lifelike. It's taking ⁓ what? How many years to make? I think it's like fourteen years. Yeah. Surely they can get it right. Yeah, surely they'll they'll get it right. There's been all the leaks and stuff going on. But with that, we'll get into the show. Start off with our show preview. So we're gonna try and keep the show around an hour, but the problem with Ethan coming out is me and him normally like to talk and these shows could sometimes go over an hour. So if it's longer, sorry. Not sorry. ⁓ to start off with Birdies of the Week. We've got some good ones here, some some notable ones, one you're probably expecting. ⁓ then we're gonna get in some NFL. The preseason's officially over, officially done. We can now go through and focus on the regular season and kind of what's coming up in the the season you expect. And then college football week zero just happened this last weekend. We talked about it last week on the podcast. Do a little little recap there, but we're then we're gonna pivot and focus on some week one games. Maybe some notable names that are some notable games that are coming up. And we'll finish off with ⁓ one final question. I got a good one for Ethan. So with that we can get into Brodies of the Week. Ethan, I'll go ahead and start us off. All right. My Brodie of the Week, and it may be a shocker to no one, Scotty Scheffler. He beat the Brody Pod curse. Well, kind of. We almost we are almost finished him off last week, but then he he came through and and won the tour championship for the PGA this week. It's his second. Tour championship. He defeated Victor Hovlin. Scotty Scheffler now joins Tiger Woods, Rory McElroy, and Phil Mickelson as the only multiple winners of the Tour Championship since its inception in 1987. So Scotty Scheffler absolutely dominating on the course. And, you know, a lot of people are saying: does that mean he's going to be kind of the golfer of the year? There's a battle between him and Wyndham Clark. Personally. Personally. I might say Wyndham Clark was golf for the year for the PGA just because he does have the major victory. Scotty didn't kind of get that this year, but Scotty does have I think it was actually I have the stats real quick of exactly what their comparison was. Yeah, so Wyndham Clark has three wins, including one major, six top five finishes, thirteen top twenty-five finishes, and five miss cuts. Scotty Scheffler has three wins, two of those coming on the FedEx playoffs, ⁓ five runner ups. Twelve top five finishes, seventeen top twenty fives, and one missed cut. So Scotty was the more consistent golfer. But I would say Wyndham Clark was the more dominant golfer this year. Yeah, but I feel like consistency is a big thing in golf. So I I'd say Scotty. Yeah, and golfer of the year. And you would you have some good company that is also saying Scotty. Tiger Woods tweeted out and congrated Scotty Scheffler and said that he should be the golfer of the year, which I didn't even know that was really an award. So may not be the biggest award to get all up and fuss about. I think Scotty's actually won it the last five years. So why not make it six? Why not make it six? ⁓ but also Scotty just on his record breaking season this year, so he broke his own scoring record this season again. So the lowest scoring average on tour since 1983, Scotty Scheffler had it in 2024 when his average was 68.01 strokes. In 2025, he was 67.99 strokes. And now in 2026, he is 67.86 strokes. Is the lowest ever. Scotty Scheffler is just Mr. Consistent. He that that if you don't know what that means, it means he's on average, he's shooting sixty-seven point eight. and and golf every every time he he tees it up. That's insane. He's getting better and better every year. Yeah, and not to mention I think like the only like there's like the top ten or whatever. He has another one from like twin twenty three. It was like the fifth or sixth overall. If you're wondering where is that compared to Tiger? Tiger Woods' lowest ever was in two thousand when he had a sixty eight point one seven. So Scotty's three seasons from twenty twenty four, twenty twenty six are all better than Tiger Woods' best season ever. And then shocking, Webb Simpson was like the fourth overall with s in twenty twenty with sixty-eight point zero six. I even know Webb Simpson was like that in twenty twenty. But it raised a question to me, Ethan. I, you know, I know you're not the biggest, you're not keeping up with golf as much, but how many mulligans do you think it would take you to beat Scotty Shuffle in a round? So we're just gonna say on average he's shooting at sixty seven. What you think mulligans? How many mulligans in a round do you think it would take you to like beat that 67. Well, saying that I am not the greatest golfer in the world, probably 50 or more. I I think it would take me a hundred. Scotty Scheffler says that he plays with his friends who are quote unquote normal guys in Dallas. And he said that usually he's given them about 20 strokes and that kind of makes it fair. He still normally wins. I think to beat Scotty Scheffler, if he's having like one of his dominant Scotty Scheffler days, I think I need a hundred bowl against ⁓ well, if you need a hundred because you're ten times better than me, I need like a hundred and fifty two hundred then. Yeah, you might you might need to be out there twenty four hours. I go out there to drink and have fun with the boys. That might be a challenge that we need to try. We need to see like actually we should have Matt try it 'cause Matt's actually no, we might have you try it 'cause you're I don't know you I don't know who's better you than you or Matt. I've never actually played golf with you. Probably Matt. I don't really ⁓ let's say Matt I don't golf a lot, but also I don't have really friends to golf a lot. You know, if like I don't really You don't have golfers in the group. Yeah. Yeah. I would say, ⁓ you and Matt I think are both lefties. So it actually would be pretty competitive, I think. Y'all could use the same stroke or same clubs. Yeah. I mean I got I have clubs and everything. It's just I can't. get out there. We'll tee it up. We'll tee it up. We'll go to the range. First I'll go to the range and see where we're at and then we can we can go from there and get around to I mean lots of practice honestly but we'll get to we'll get you some practice it. But the only other question I had here about Scotty Scheffler is, you know, people are saying like all right he has multiple tour victories, he's kind of got everything. What else is there for Scotty Scheffler to accomplish in his career? What what else is there for him to set up? He's been the number one golfer for so long. He's just dominating the PGA tour. What else could be you know on the horizon for Scotty Scheffler to finish? Some people were saying like he has to complete the career grand slam, and that would include winning the US Open, which at next year is going to be at Pebble Beach. A lot of people say it's a pretty easy course for these golfers to play, but you know, if that wins whipping air off the Pacific coast, it can be a very challenging course to play sometimes. And that's the only thing I think he's missing. And then you could you could put, you know, you could finish the chapter for Scotty Scheffler, but to be fair, he's not even he's not even thirty yet. And he's been so dominant on the tour. And then if he ⁓ go ahead. I'm just from the like past scoring average. I mean, he's just getting better and better with age. So Yeah. I mean eventually Father Time will catch up, but I think Scotty Scheffler for the next foreseeable five years is gonna be continuing to dominate the PJ tour. ⁓ if Scotty Scheffler does win the US Open next year, he would be the first golfer in history to complete the career grand slam. win an Olympic gold medal and win the Ryder Cup. I looked it up. No other golfer has done that in the history of the of the sport. Granted, the Olympics, there is a caveat to that. It was only brought back to the golf was only brought back to the Olympics back in twenty sixteen. So there hasn't been too many opportunities for other golfers to do it, but he would be the first one to do it. ⁓ the only other notable name that could possibly do that would be ⁓ Roy McRoy. I think right now on the tour. Few us to win the Olympics in the next twenty twenty eight, I think is our next Olympic year. Yeah. Shout out to Scottie Scheffler, my Brody of the Week. Next we can get into Ethan's Brody of Week. Yeah. So my Brody of the Week, I went a little bit different. ⁓ I do have a little bit of a background in NASCAR with some truck series stuff, but ⁓ I was just gonna keep it in the NASCAR realm this week. I like we like different And it would be Mr. Ryan Priest, who is a driver for the number sixty car for RFK. They were in Daytona for the Coke what is it? Coke Zero Sugar four hundred, which is the last race before the chase, which is SAS cars playoffs. There we go. Coke Zero, got it right here. Drink it on the podcast. Sponsor us Coke. And he came into the race thirty one points below the cut line, racing against SVG, who is Shane Van Gizbergen. And he basically had to win the race. He came from behind a 31 point deficit. And the only way he was going to be able to make that up was to win the race. And if anyone knows Daytona, once you get to the last slap, it's basically a wild card because usually the big one happens. And he was leading when the big one happened and pulled it off. I was watching and he was And then clear, but if he would have finished second, he would have been out by, I believe, like seventeen points. Damn. So he showed up. Yeah. And with that, I mean, the team that he races for, they used to be very good, the like ownership, car owner, like and all, but they've kind of the last ten, fifteen years is kind of in a mediocre team. So them winning that is ⁓ pretty big. Well, so This is good that you're like a NASCAR expert on the podcast. I have some questions. Okay. So yes, they have some answers. Okay. So I've I've always been first of all, let me ask you this. Where did Shane Van Gisbergen start finish in the race? He finished he was in the bag. So if he would have finished like in the top ten, then even if Ryan Priest won, it wouldn't have mattered? ⁓ no. If Ryan Priest would have had to lose and then It didn't really matter where So as long as he got first, it didn't matter where S V G was. Yeah, pretty much. Okay. Because of of how they do like the points, they get extra points for winning. Yeah, for winning. And honestly, the notable thing is Ryan Priest wrecked coming to the checkered flag in stage one and had a start at the back and came all the way forward during that race. So my next question here is you talk about the chase. How many play I because this is like the NASCAR playoffs. How many spots is is it is it the top ten? So they just like redid their system. It used to be like win and you're in and it's a top sixteen. But now I do remember that. That's what I thought it was. Now it's the top sixteen still, but it's not a win and year end. So how it works is they all start off with I think I think Denny Hamlin has twenty one hundred points and then it goes kind of Down minus twenty five points all the way down to the sixteenth. So the sixteenth driver has two thousand points starting off. And every race you'll get basically points and all. Like you wanna the better you finish, the better more points you get and all. And it's more of kind of like an average instead of one person getting lucky at the end of the year or end of the round getting lucky and being able to squeak their way through. It's more of you gotta be more consistent and kind of You gotta be more like Scotty Scheffler. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. Gotta be a Scotty Scheffler. Okay. I'm looking at the points right now. So yeah, the the sixteenth driver has two thousand points and then Denny Hamlin at first has twenty one hundred. And so how many races do they have for the playoffs? Is that is that like four races left or something? So the it's a ⁓ they have a a ten race. Playoffs. Okay, I'm looking at it right now. Yeah. So now the next one they're at Darlington, actually this weekend. Yeah, so they'll be Darlington and then it's ⁓ Worldwide Technology Raceway. I don't know where that's at. It's in Illinois, Madison, Illinois. Okay. So they'll kinda go through all of them. Okay. But yeah, so they'll end in ⁓ Homestead, Miami, Florida. Hey, that's where I just was. That'll that'll be where they finish where they'll crown their champion, and then I believe they're having their like banquet within the next few days after that there. That'd be sick. I know I know so golf just finished up with Scotty Scheffler and that season's now done, but I it sounds like we're in the playoffs now for NASCAR. And that's gonna run through when does that run through? It runs actually through November. November, yeah, November eight is the final. I didn't realize how long of a season NASCAR has. Yep, they start in February. And run all the way through November. Yep. That's a that's a quick turnaround. Yeah. So they start February fourth, you could say, and then all the way out November eighth. They only get a couple weeks off. And this is the only thing I know about ⁓ Shane Van Gisbergen is that he just dominates all the roadway races because he comes from like the background of like the was it racing on the road or whatever it is? Yeah, he's a road racer who came over who is actually going to be a problem in the next couple of years because he's I mean He's figuring out it looks like he's figuring out the ovals and all, which is kinda scary because I would bet my life on any if I had to on any road course, if you had to pick a driver and say if he wins or does great, you survive and if not, then you have to die. S VG every time. Every time I watch like a like the Chicago or any of the other road races that they have, like it seems like he's always If he's not leading, he's like in the top three. Yeah. And he does so he uses two feet like a I don't know how to explain it. I mean, they all use two feet, but he can the way he uses the pedals from this is road racing style. Like you can ask any of the regular NASCAR drivers and they're like, We can watch film, like 'cause they have cameras in there showing their feet and all they're like, we can watch it and all, but there's I mean, we can't do it. Like we can try to make it a feel thing. Yeah. It's a feel, yeah. It's like the Scotty Scheffler foot shuffle. Yeah. Like that's his that's his swing. Yeah. Like you can s practice and practice it, but you can't I'm sorry I keep comparing it to golf. I'm just I'm jacked up from watching golf this weekend. Hey, I mean honestly Scotty Scheffler is kind of the key the I mean, great example of that. Like But I always used to make jokes of like NASCAR like, ⁓ look, they're making a left turn, wonder what's gonna happen next. Another left turn and then as I've watched S V G, he's someone that like came from the road racing and now he's like struggled with the oval and it's like you There you learn there actually is a little bit of science to like the running the left turn. Or like you're not even actually turning left. I heard this fun fact about like NASCAR is like you're actually keeping the steering wheel straight and that the road actually just turns you because it's the bank. Yeah. The banking, yeah. Yeah. ⁓ which Daytona has the the craziest banking. Yeah, it's like thirty something degrees or whatever. Yeah. It's like it I think if they said it's like going up three flights of stairs. Yeah, I always watch the video of like the regular people trying to walk up it and they're struggling. So it's almost like going up a vertical wall. You don't realize how like steep thirty degrees is. Yeah. And honestly, like you just gotta think being in a car going 200 plus miles an hour, turning like your the angle of the car is what, thirty, what'd you say, thirty three? Yeah, it's like thirty three. It's like between thirty and thirty three degrees or something like that, I think. So you're Sitting there. I got this cool thing. You said it was Daytona. Daytona, yeah. Daytona Bank. ⁓ I shouldn't have thirty one degrees. Dang, so that's actually pretty correct. I was I know a little something about this. I should have gone and saw actually I think I was far from Daytona in Miami. Yeah, that's like imagine going two hundred plus into the corner there on thirty three degree banking and you're hoping the car sticks and you're four wide. Yeah. Yeah. Three, four wide. Can't make a mistake. All right, shout out Ryan Priest. We'll be keeping up with him throughout the rest of the chase for the NASCAR, but With that, we will come back and we'll do some NFL headlines. Now that the preseason is done. We're back for some NFL headlines, and now we are officially one week away from football coming in and starting. We're we're one week away from it, so we're gonna go through some of the top headlines and stuff going around the NFL. Starting off here first, Ethan, with probably the biggest story out of the NFL this week. Aaron Donald has officially announced he is returning to the Rams for the upcoming 2026 season. He's coming out of retirement after around 700 ish days of retirement. He's been he's been out of the league since 2024. He signed a one year contract with the Rams. It's around $20 million, but with incentives, it could be up to $30 million. And if you don't know who Aaron Donald is, you know, one time Super Bowl champion with the Rams back in 2020. He's a three time defensive player of the year. He was a defensive rookie of the year in twenty fourteen when he was drafted by the Rams. ⁓ he is a ten time Pro Bowl selection from twenty fourteen to twenty twenty three and eight time first team all pro selections. He was on the NFL two thousand ten's all decade team, and he has his single season record of twenty and a half sacks in twenty eighteen. Is the most ever by a full time interior defensive lineman. Actually insane stuff. Yeah. One the best defensive lineman and now on probably the scariest defensive line like team. Yeah, he is gonna be teaming up with Miles Garrett on that defensive front for the Rams. And if Miles Garrett wasn't enough for him already, like adding Aaron Donald easily makes him the favorite for the Super Bowl. Yeah. Which two, you know, Miles Garrett was looked at as the best defensive lineman in the NFL. But now he has to be like knocked down to that second best because Aaron Donald's back. I wonder how he feels about that. Yeah, I don't know. Okay, listen. I guess we should go ahead and have this conversation is who's the alpha on that defense? Is it gonna be Miles Garrett or Aaron Donald? You can't have two alphas. You gotta have one. One of them's gotta be the alpha. I'd say maybe it's Myles Garrett. I don't know. I think Donald. Aaron Donald. I think just I mean, he's a little bit bigger than Miles Garrett. Like Miles Garrett's gonna have to listen to him a little bit. I mean, he's a veteran Super Bowl winning defensive lineman. I mean. Okay, well it Miles Garrett didn't have a chance to ever win a Super Bowl, being on the Browns. Now being on the Rams, they were already like the Super Bowl favorites. I know we've teased it on the podcast of like we were like, ⁓ Aaron Donald's been working out with the Rams again. And I think even I said on the podcast, I was like, he's coming back this year. You don't go work out twice for the Rams and and not end up signing that contract. He was just trying to find out. I guess he said he was trying to see if he still loved football, if he wanted to come back out. He's already causing havoc at training camp. He's he's already like bullying the coaches and stuff again. So it seems like Aaron Donald, even though he's had two years off, he retired back in twenty twenty four. Seems like he's right back to the Aaron Donald. I we did talk about, you know, is there gonna like a little ramp up with him? Like I think Sean McFay's even come out and said, like, we don't know officially like when he's gonna appear in the first game. Yeah. I think I think he could be in week one a couple plays, but I don't think he'll be like a full time yet. No, I think They said that they're gonna kinda slowly like put him in. Like he'll get twenty or thirty I think snaps, maybe. Or is it a snaps twenty or thirty percent like percentage of in the game? But ⁓ I mean, that's a scary defensive line. Yeah, coming in. And talking about a scary defensive line, so since double team rates were first tracked in two thousand seventeen. Only three players have recorded a twenty sack season and two of them are now on the Rams with Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald. The other one being T J Watts. And ⁓ with Aaron Donald's double team rate, it it is ⁓ if you took Miles Garrett and T J Watt and combined ⁓ together, it still wouldn't equal Miles Garrett's like double team rate. He's double teamed or he was double teamed sixty four percent of the time. That's I mean, who do you double team now? Yeah. Exactly. You you can't double team both of them. There's not enough players. I mean, they may break one of ⁓ or maybe what is the what is the NFL like team sack record? Ooh, I don't know what the team sack record. I know ⁓ Miles Garrett broke the individual sack record last year with twenty three. And then Aaron Donald had twenty and a half back in twenty eighteen. So it's gonna be pretty, pretty interesting at the those two coming out. Also Aaron Donald, I think he's only thirty five years old, so like he went out people whenever he retired, people were like, ⁓ you're kinda going out on top. And now he's come back. I think he'll still like there's just that conditioning level he's gonna work his way back up to in the NFL. But like if we've talked about on the podcast, if you've seen like his off season workouts, he still is incredible shape. I think he'll be more than capable to help this Rams team immediately coming in. All right. So the NFL team sack record It's nineteen eighty four Chicago Bears. You want to take a guess on how many they had? As a team? As a team. And nineteen eighty four. I first of all I don't even think I've looked this up, so I'm just gonna give a ballpark number. It may be well off. I'm gonna say forty five sacks. Okay. I mean, you're close ish. Am I close? Seventy two ish. I said ish. Seventy two. That was a close at all. That seventy two and forty are completely different. I mean, I feel like you would have been like, ⁓ I mean I was thinking a hundred, but I was like, hundred's way too high for a sack record as a team. So seventy-two. I they could possibly break that. Yeah, I mean, Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett, ⁓ I don't know. You'd have to have well very dominant D that nineteen eighty four team was probably incredibly dominant because Miles Garrett, if you took his record and Aaron Donald's record, it's forty. Forty three and a half. Yeah, but let's see. They play San Francisco week one. Okay, you're probably not gonna get that ⁓ I mean, you may get a couple of sacks there, but New York Giants. I feel like they don't have a great offensive line. I mean, they just cut what ⁓ Evan Neal that they drafted like with a top, what, five pig a year or two ago? You have Arizona in there that you play Las Vegas, you're gonna play you play Arizona twice. Yep. And then FC West. People are saying a lot of this is just to stop Sam Darnold. It's crazy because the Seattle Seahawks, you know, Super Bowl champions are returning, but now it's gonna be very interesting because they now gotta stop. This Rams team. And I will say, over the past thirty years, the preseason favorites with five hundred plus five hundred odds or better has never won the big game, won the Super Bowl, going ⁓ for twenty. And the Rams this year are plus five hundred to win the Super Bowl. So people are sh I could see ⁓ doing it though. Yeah. Some other notable ones was the Kansas City Chiefs one ⁓ were plus five hundred in twenty twenty four. They ended up losing. They were also plus four hundred fifty in twenty twenty one. ⁓ the only other notable plus five hundred was New England in two thousand eleven. And then Philly in ⁓ four, and that's it on the plus five hundred. But normally like the preseason favorite just doesn't end up winning the Super Bowl, surprisingly. That's actually kind of surprising, honestly. But that raises my next question to you, Ethan. We're just gonna go ahead and pencil the Rams in for the Super Bowl for the NFC. Who out of the AFC could we see them playing? My my gut tells me maybe like the Bills. The Bills aren't far off. So the Bills and the Ravens are both tied at plus one thousand to win Super Bowl. I don't think the Ravens. I feel like they got a few missing pieces. It's like enough people have wrote written off the the Ravens. I think this could be a year that they make a run. 'Cause normally there's too much hype around the Ravens. And now it's like no one's really talking about ⁓ this year. This could be the if you do it. Yeah, but they have a first year head coach. That's the thing that kinda worries me a little bit. First year head coach with I mean, a completely not different staff. I say the Bills I say the Chiefs I mean, I feel like you can never really bet against Mahomes, the Chiefs. Yeah, I think the Chiefs, it's all it depends on how healthy Mahomes is gonna be thro going through the season, coming back from his leg injury. ⁓ but I do I think I like the Bills. I think I'd like a year that Josh Allen can finally make a run. Now, once again, the problem is once you get to the Super Bowl, you're probably playing the Rams. Unless you're Ethan, then you think they're playing the Cowboys. Hold on. Yeah, you gotta get past the Cowboys first, all right? No. It's No cakewalk. Cowboys are down at plus twenty five hundred to win the Super Bowl. So that's just because everyone hates the Cowboys, all right? They're I think they're fifteenth. Fifteenth best sides to win the Super Bowl. Well, when they win the Super Bowl, let's mark it down right now. How about the Cowboys win their division? Let's start there and then maybe a couple playoff games. Eight thirty one, twenty twenty six at eight fifteen. I said the Cowboys were going to make win the Super Bowl. Yeah, well we'll come back to the timestamp. Yeah. But yeah, I I think this is something that the Rams didn't need it and now they have the whole infinity gauntlet of players and getting into we'll get into another one final question about just super teams and stuff. But what do you mean didn't need it though? Like they were already had the best odds to win the Super Bowl. And now adding Aaron Donald, it's like a it's like a nice to have, but they didn't need it. I mean, I don't think they were I don't think at the beginning of this like before the Aaron Donald, I don't think they to me they're not a Super Bowl favorite. I mean Well that's to you. I'm talking what Vegas was sh was saying. Well I feel like Vegas is but like they had a rough year last year. Like What what do you mean? They were like in the NFC championship last year. Yeah, but their star receiver went to rehab or something, Puka. They're more I mean their Puka's coming back. I mean their quarterback is I love Matthew Stafford, but he's getting a little bit older every year. Like That's where Matthew Stafford's gotta be he's gotta stay healthy. Like I don't know. I d I think this is I think this is a clear do you think it's Stafford's last year? I think Stafford goes as long if they win the Super Bowl, Stafford will go as long as Darnold goes. Like if Darnold goes another year, I feel like Stafford would be like you know what, let me go one more year. No, I think I think if Stafford wins the Super Bowl, I think he retires. It I think he's already come out and said this is his final year. Did he? I d I don't know. I just don't see how you can walk away if you win a Super Bowl coming off of a MVP season like think it's just hard. I mean I think I don't think you can for sure be like, well this is my last year. Like Okay, well I guess the question is his contract ends this year. Yeah. Well yeah I think he what he just signed a one year. Like I think he's technically just gonna sign a one year every year until he's done. Yeah. I don't know. I think I think this I think this is like a one shot. The Rams are just going all in, which that seems to be like their MO like in twenty twenty when they won. ⁓ Twenty twenty twenty twenty one. Whatever the year they beat the Bengals, like that they went all in. I think this is kind of that same. I don't think they want to go on. I don't think they want to go all in like they did that year, 'cause they gave up. But ⁓ I dude, ⁓ don't even get me started on this conversation. Don't get me started on this conversation about what you'd give up for a Super Bowl because I would give up the Cowboys next. twenty years of draft picks to win a Super Bowl. For one Super Bowl? For one Super Bowl. To reset the clock. It's already been thirty something years. Maybe five. I wouldn't go above thirty. I wouldn't go above thirty, but I would at at twenty, I'd give up the next twenty years of the Cowboys' future to be honest. How about this? Five years, you give up five years, you give up ones and threes. No, I would I would give up everything for the next five years for the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl this year. But then there's Yeah, you're okay. Okay. I'm tired of the stat being the Cowboys haven't won since like nineteen ninety six. It's been thirty years since they've been in the NFC championship. I would give up the next five years for them to win the NFC championship. Just so I that stat would get off my my feeds. I mean they have. I feel like they have a team to go to the championship this year. I mean Actually this is good. This is into our next topic here of like the roster cuts that were made. So we can get into that. The the Cowboys are cut down to their fifty-three man roster. ⁓ me go ahead and make a amendum amendment to the podcast last week where my Brodie of the week was Shia's Pete. And I you know, we talk about the Brody Pod curse, it might be a real thing. He's now been released from the Cowboys. He was cut from the fifty three man roster. So sorry, Mr. Pete. Great job. I I thought you were already locked in on the team. I didn't realize they were gonna cut you, so Mr. Pete, you're welcome come on the podcast, invent your feelings to me. I I apologize. I really had high hopes for you because you're such a big, big, strong man. I I was like, this is great protection for Dak Prescott. Turns out Cowboys didn't think so, but I I respect you. Okay, Mr. Pete. And then they also now waived Joe Milton the third from being the quarterback. Sam Howell will now be the backup quarterback to Dak Prescott. And everyone's making a big deal about that, honestly. If Joe Milton or Sam Howell was gonna be our quarterback for the Cowboys, they won the Super Bowl to begin with. I'll go ahead and s I'll go ahead and say right there. Yeah, I think Joe Milton, he has the talent, like the arm talent and all. I think it was just maybe like I think he struggles reading defenses and comprehending defenses. I mean, I thought he had a really good preseason, but I thought he did too, but obviously I guess that's why we're not once again. If we're down to Joe Milton or Sam Howe or any other backup quarterback other than Dak Prescott, we're not gonna have a chance this season. So doesn't really matter. I feel like we had a way better of a chance with Joe Milton. But Sam Howe has started in the NFL. Better chance as in five percent? As in I mean, I feel like fifty I feel like fifty, fifty percent. I mean We don't have a fifty fifty percent chance with Dak Prescott. Yeah, we do. Yes, we do. Come on. But I feel like with Joe Milton, like it opens up. I mean, he has a strong arm. He can run the ball pretty well. Like it gives you more options than Sam Howe, huh? But Yeah, well, once again, it won't matter. Al also notable Cowboys that were cut from the team, Marquez Valtez Scantley was cut as a wide receiver for the Cowboys. Didn't see that one. And then Sam Williams. Defensive end for the Cowboys was cut. And also the running back Jedi on Blue. ⁓ was Blue cut? Yeah, they cut J or they may have released him. So I saw that the reason why Milton got waived was because they were making room for De Mercado in the running back room. They were adding more running back depth and so they had to get rid of another quarterback. Initially when the fifty three man got announced, Joe Milton was on it, and then it came out that he was waived by the Cowboys, I think, on Monday, so Yeah, the Cowboys pretty sure they let him go, cut him or whatever, which I heard he had a lot of like Yeah. be a a running back in the NFL type of guy. Like he needed a lot better work ethic. ⁓ blue? Yeah. Okay. ⁓ another notable cowboy or was a cowboy, Trayvon Diggs, has been cut by the Seahawks. Thank goodness. I am a Trayvon Diggs hater. I don't know I don't know what exactly happened. 'Cause I remember he went and signed with the Seahawks, but I guess they just had too much depth at corner and Well, so what I've seen was a report came out said that they Seahawks What released him, cut him, but they wanted to sign him back to the practice squad. ⁓ okay. So he's not officially like cut from being a free agent. I mean, technically I guess he is, but 'cause I don't know if they signed him. I mean, they may have signed him again, but I don't know. I'm not a big Trayvon Diggs fan. Some other notable names that were just cut around the league. Will Levis, quarterback or backup quarterback for the Titans, was officially cut from the fifty three man roster. Will Levis experiment. Probably didn't go too well. You just could never put together and, you know, they ended up getting I mean, no, but can you you can't put all the blame on Will Levis 'cause look at I mean it's a dumpster fire over there. Yeah, Cam Ward. I mean it looks like the I mean the Titans are just they kind of haven't got it right the last couple of years and it looks like Cam Ward, the future's promising, but yeah, Will Levis just I think that experiment's done. Also, another notable name that was cut around the league. Sam Hartman was a long time quarterback for the commanders. I guess not long time, but he had just been like the back end quarterback for the last couple years. He was officially let go. And then Frank Gore Jr., running back for the Bills, was let go. So shout out to all the guys that were cut from the fifty three man rosters. I mean, I heard on a clip today that from another guy that's like a notable name in the NFL. That just because you're cut from the fifty three minute roster doesn't mean like your season journey's over. Like a lot of these guys, whether they're sitting on the couch at the start of the season or not, like they'll probably be back on an NFL team by the end of the season. Most and most of the time they cut I mean, they cut down to fifty three, and ninety percent of the people that they cut, they signed to the practice squad. Yeah. And there was a the guy, ⁓ I can't remember the name of the clip, but he was like a he's he's a receiver in the NFL. Sammy, yeah, Sammy ⁓ Fioco. Sammy Fyoko, okay. Is that And he was saying like He played for the Cowboys too. Yeah, he was like, You're cut now, but you'll be back on a team and it's not really the the end. Sometimes like a lot of these rosters are already made up at the beginning of August and like, yeah, you go through the preseason, you you're wearing the jersey and stuff. It's like unless like you really show out in the preseason, you're probably still not gonna make the team, which that I that's what I saw with with Pete. Like I thought he was for sure gonna be on it and then turns out the Cowboys already had enough depth on the offensive line and just didn't need him and sometimes like that's too like it's just a fit thing. Two, they went and traded for was it Baroderick Jones from the Steelers? And he's supposed to be I seen today where he's supposed to be competing for the offensive tackle against ⁓ Terrence Steele. Yeah. So So I mean there's lot of just movement that happens. I feel like they probably wanted him to be like be their guy. But he didn't show out enough in week one and two of the preseason. And so they went out and got Baroderick Jones to help with that. And Yeah. And like look at someone like Joe Milton who was named to the fifty three men roster. And then the next day he's like go. Like that's just kind of it these rosters, yeah, the fifty three's out, but it's not gonna be anything that's like set in stone. It yeah. Especially like if injuries happen throughout the season or just, you know, a team needs more depth somewhere. They'll go find these guys that are out on waivers and it's just like fantasy football. They just pick ⁓ up and and you know, give them like your league minimum and and move on with the season. Some of them might be on a Super Bowl winning team by the end of year. They're on the Rams. So I did see Odell Beckham, I think, officially I think he made the Giants. Yeah. I feel like this may be his last year and he's gonna call it quits. I think like it's kind of the fail farewell tour of coming back. Good, dude. I I liked Odell. I It's weird seeing him with like number three on now, not 13 in the Giants uniform. That was a little weird to me, but still, like at least he has the three on there. It kind of makes kinda like, you know, seeing 2016 again. Right. But with that, we have some other games that are just coming up for week one of the NFL. We'll kind of get into more of it next week, but I just want to go ahead and get ahead of it because I think the podcast next week drops on a Wednesday, and the first game is going to be on a Wednesday. Super Bowl rematch between the Seahawks and the Patriots. It's going to be in Seattle September 9th. And it's weird 'cause it's on a Wednesday. 'Cause me and Ethan were like, That's weird. Ethan actually was like, That's weird. I don't know why it's on a Wednesday. I I think last year was on Wednesday. Turns out last year was on a Thursday. So I think the NFL is just slowly moving up the season. I I think they should do I mean, I don't care what day it is, but I think they should do whoever won the Super Bowl, like a Super Bowl rematch, and whoever wins gets home field advantage week one, kind of like they just did here. But like that's pretty cool if you look at it that way. Yeah. And it would be interesting is if like the Patriots end up winning that game. That I mean that's could be possible. I mean, yeah, it's of it's of course it's possible. AJ Brown reuniting with his old coach. Yeah, I feel like the Seahawks are like one of the most slept on Super Bowl champions. They are. But I no one's talking about the Seahawks. Yeah. But I'm a little bit worried that with the team selling and all, how like that's gonna affect kind of affect them. Yeah. With like how much the new ownership and all is gonna want to spend and care about winning basically. Yeah. I think the Seahawks are gonna be I think they're gonna be up there. Once again the NFC West is gonna be an absolute gauntlet other than the Cardinals, but we'll get to we'll get to see some some good competition there. Speaking of also NFC West, the next game and the week one Is on a Thursday, it's gonna be the Rams taking on the Forty Niners and Melbourne, Australia. So we talked about the Rams and what they've kind of been able to accomplish and getting ready for this week one and just the infinity gauntlet of a team they've built. But it may how would you feel to be Brock Purdy and like having to go against that? And then also just the forty niners and the crazy wild off season that they've had this year. So just if you don't know what's happening with the forty niners this off season, the the Brandon Ayuk like drama that went on Where he was trying to become a commander, trying to get cut from the team. Christian McCaffrey suffering his muscle tightness injury, or whatever it was that people are saying it's because of the ⁓ the electron electromagnetic field that they practice on. Mike Evans having multiple injuries in the camp. Ricky Pearsall with a season-ending injury. Nick Nick Bosa with tendonitis, James Jordan with a fractured rib, Kyle Shanahan and his Car accident, like the head coach being in a car accident saying that he was having like a foggy brain because of it. The owner, Jed York, was arrested because of ⁓ some off the field stuff that went down. And then not to mention the fake player stuff that has come out like in the last week. If you live under a rock, there's been a player that's been like I guess acting like an ⁓ 49ers wide receiver and been scamming women out of money. Like that's insane. 1.3 million dollars. He scammed. Yeah, what was his name? Dej Dejaon Love or something. De John, yeah, love. Dejaon Love. Something like that. Yeah. And then I heard there was like so there's that story going on. I heard there's another guy that's doing it, and he's like he's saying he's a cowboy safety. And said he won a Super Bowl back with ⁓ Tampa Bay in like twenty twenty or something. Insane. That's wild. Well, I'm the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys now, guys. So Yeah. I was like, is that just what we need to just yeah, he apparently like had like all the article he had like fake articles written online and stuff about ⁓ And yeah, the guy that's been framing as the forty nineers fake player, that's just a wild play. Crazy what AI you can do with AI. Make all these fake articles and moving on to some other Just games that are going on. I was looking at week one, kind of like what were some notable names? It looks like there's some like good division battles, but I saw the NFC East battles and it's got me thinking here. You got the Cowboys at the Giants and then the Commanders at the Eagles. Which one of those matchups is more intriguing to you, Ethan? Probably Cowboys at Giants. Not because I'm a Cow not because I'm a Cowboys fan, but I mean the Cowboy I mean, both these teams kind of are new teams in a way. Like the Cowboys defense, defensive line, defense has been Basically, I mean they are a brand new defense, it feels like, and the Giants new head coach coming in, like kind of a new team there as well. Yeah, I think the G I think the Giants, they they're kind of a sneaky team this year, depending on how like the injuries that they face, like Cam Scadaboo and Malik Neighbors coming back and then Jackson Dart, you know, we're in year two of the Jackson Dart experiment and then also adding in a harball, like I'm very interested to see what the Giants have this year. I think they're gonna be sneaky. The only thing that worries me is on the offensive side is that offensive line. Like I said, they cut Evan Neal, who was a like a he was a top ten pick like I feel like two years ago or so out of Alabama. And they just released him or cut him. So I'm like, either you have some really good guys up there or your offensive line's a little shaky. Yeah, Evan Neal was the number seven overall pick in the twenty twenty two draft. So his contract I guess was just up and they didn't want to renew it. So yeah, cutting him. But yeah, no, I think the I think the Cowboys Giants game is gonna be the most telling for the NFC East. I think we'll see the most like overreaction from that game. Yeah. Like if the Giants win, be on the lookout for Giants fans saying go into the Super Bowl and then Cowboys fans are gonna be in an absolute pitfall. If the Cowboys win They're gonna be thinking Super Bowl bound and the Giants are probably gonna think, ⁓ great, here we go. Here's another year of this. But this does feel normal again, 'cause I feel like the Cowboys used to always open up the season with the Giants. Yeah, and last year we had the Cowboys Eagles eagles. It was a little weird, yeah. Yeah. So I think it's gonna be inter also I'm glad the Cowboys aren't like the first game of the year. Yeah. Like last year. Get the eyeballs off ⁓ Yeah. Unless Stephen A comes on here and wants to talk about ⁓ Yeah. Moving on over into college football. So NFL season's starting to heat up. College football has already started. We had a crazy week zero with college football, starting off with the game in Ireland. TCU loses to North Carolina fifteen to ten. I do gotta say I woke up, went downstairs, turned on, I seen the game was on. I forgot it was week zero. Turned on the game, seen that it The game was said like it had the Big 12 marker logo on the field. It said TCU and it was like raining. It looked cold. I live 30-ish minutes from Fort Worth. I looked out my window and I'm like, this has to be a an old game because it's sunny. It looks like it's about a hundred and five here. And then I realized that they were playing in Dublin and it was game was actually live. Well, I didn't realize that game was in Ireland. So every year I always talk about like the Ireland game. It seems like we get a crazy like upset or something, which I believe this game was an upset. I think I think TCU was picked to win and pretty favorably. But Bill Belichick in somehow in his North Carolina ways figures out how to pull out a game. Well, I also heard ⁓ talking about like last year Bill Belichick didn't really get to recruit and all. He kind of signed late with North Carolina. So he didn't really get to pick and mold like his team his guys. And this year he had a full off season and was able to like recruit the guys that he wanted and stuff. Which I mean it showed they're want to know, is this Bill Belichick Empire that started? I we might need to pump the brakes on it, but I did know TCU was like I think they were projected to do pretty well in the Big Twelve. I didn't actually look at what like the projected standings were and stuff, but ⁓ they did get out, I think it like Twiteno lead to start the game and then They scored all ten points in the first quarter and then just didn't score the rest of the way. And then North Carolina ended up getting a safety and a field goal in the second and third quarter, and then no points were scored in the fourth quarter. Yeah. So just like what we expected. The game was just a weird game in Ireland. I do want to shout out a guy from my hometown, Caden McFadden, who had three solo tackles and a force fumble. Who's a safety for them? Caleb McFadden? Caden McFadden. Caden McFadden. That's a great football name. He's a junior for TCU. He had a force fumble and got ⁓ three solo tackles and a like team tackle. So great job. Yeah. Kate great job, Caden. Bad job TCU. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He tried. He he gave it his all. I mean, yeah, fifty points. If your office you put up more than fifteen, like, I don't know if you deserve to win the game, but the defense showed up. I mean it was it was wet and rainy, but I mean it's no excuse. No excuse. Yeah, and that's just the typical island game there. ⁓ and then also ⁓ just cause I was in Florida, I saw the Florida State, New Mexico State game when I was at the ⁓ when I was at the bar watching it a little bit. So ⁓ Florida State absolutely handled New Mexico State thirty four seventeen. But, you know, we'll see where the rest of the season takes them. Florida State, they've kind of gone through their ups and downs as a program and We'll slowly be moving on. Also, I saw that ⁓ everyone's freaking out about USD not having a good home crowd. Apparently they had fifty one thousand in their Coliseum or something, and it just didn't look that like packed house or anything. The game was also it was like ninety six degrees at game time or something. Yeah. They're playing actually San Jose San Jose State, which is I'm not gonna say a nobody, but it's kind of a nobody. Yeah. And ⁓ yeah, listen. Crowds will pick up as the season goes along. I'm not blaming anyone for not being out there and as it gets cooler, I mean that stadiums will be more and more packed. Like it's ninety something degrees playing a no b like I mean Yeah. A nobody a nobody nodded, nobody like USC should blow the doors off of ⁓ and probably most people don't want to sit out there and bake in the sun and sweat to death in a forty to nothing game. I'll tell you right now The next game is against Fresno State at 8 PM. I bet that stadium's gonna be packed. I bet the fans are gonna take it personally. Try they're gonna show up. They USC might just start giving away tickets for free just to fill up the stadium. Because now that it's been put on the radar, they're gonna make sure that stadium is is packed. Yeah. But yeah. ⁓ other than that, I think ⁓ yeah, Texas Tech added a new quarterback to the roster, shocker, Tommy Cassianos. From Florida State. So speaking of Florida State. They've added Tommy Cassianos in the transfer portal. I didn't see him officially on the roster, but I was talking to Chat GPT a little bit. Apparently he was going through some eligibility and getting cleared by the Big Twelve to play because he was one of the quarterbacks. He went undrafted in the draft this last year. ⁓ went and did a Miami Dolphins like mini camp, but didn't officially sign with an FL team. So he still has a year of eligibility, so he's coming back. ⁓ but they don't expect him to play at all, at least in week one, possibly week two, we could see him show up in a package or something. I think he's more out there as like a as an insurance policy for if Will Hammond goes down, which it's not a bad insurance policy to have. He was really good quarterback for Florida State. So yeah. Especially being a fifth year senior, I think he'll be able to help tech, especially if Will Hammond has any type of injuries this upcoming season. Right. And I feel like too, you can I mean Will Hammond and Tommy Kest Whatever. Cassianos. Cassi Cassianos. Can ⁓ they have the be the same like QB style. Like they both are kind of running quarterbacks. Yeah. So that helps out a lot. You can plug and play play on. Like you can run the ball, just bring in Tommy to run the ball if you need to or do whatever. I'm trying to see, where did where's tech in the rank? ⁓ they're twelve. So I did see a a fun thing. I saw a fun thing the other day. It was talking about teams that actually had like a chance to win the college football playoffs. And tech was one of the teams that was like it reached all the filters where it's like you can't have a coach that called games or calls like offensive or defensive plays. Gotta have like a you have to have like five or six returning seniors or something. Just one of those things that football pla the football fans look at and they're like, Yes, my team has a chance. So we get to see ⁓ in action this week, take on Abilene Christian. Wait, you said the they're twelfth on the Big Twelve standings? They're twelfth on the college football rankings. They're I think they're projected first or second in the Big Twelve. Yeah, they should be they should win the Big Twelve. I'd say pretty easily, I wanna say. That's just ⁓ biased fan of me. I don't see anyone giving them a run other than maybe Arizona State. See, I think it's either like BYU or I think, and this is a game that we're going to later this season, Oklahoma State. Yeah, but Oklahoma State, they got a new coach, new team, but yes, that quarterback's good and that coach was good, but they also were coming from a smaller, weaker division. Like I feel like it's a little bit easier. Easier to win. I think either gonna sink or they're gonna swim. Now, don't get me wrong, give ⁓ two to four years. probably gonna be competing with us, but as of right now, like first year, it's gonna be a little bit different of a conference, bigger, tougher conference. We'll see how it goes. But I do think they will adapt and come through and maybe that'll be a speaking of just the conference, I just from the Ireland game, I saw the the monster logo was on the field for the TCU North Carolina game. Yeah the Big twelve sponsor. I didn't actually see the patches or anything, but I just saw on the field and I was like, that looks weird. Yeah, that that it does look weird. I don't know if they're gonna do the like the green, 'cause the Big Twelve like lettering and all was just black, wasn't it? I think Yeah. It looked it looked weird, yeah. It's not what I'm used to. I see. Was there any other notable is there ranked on ranked this week? I don't think so, not week. One. I was looking to see if there's any ranked there's should it be. There normally is at least one. Yeah, there's one. We got one. Number twenty four Louisville taking on. Number nine Old Miss. The Liberty Mutual Music City kickoff. Yeah, it's six thirty. That ought to be kinda curious on how that goes. That's another first year head coach in Ole Miss. I guess you could say first year head coach. I mean he coached in the playoffs, but I'm trying to see. ⁓ I they have Trinidad coming back too. So Ole Miss is gonna be I think they're gonna win that game. I think they're only picked by seven, but still pretty, pretty solid team coming in. All right. With that, I think we can let's get into some other let's just let's just go ahead and finish out the show. Why don't we, huh? All right, let's do it. All right. So some other sports news going around. We've talked about Aaron Donald coming out of retirement. Leona Messi's going into retirement. He retires from the Argentina national team in a pretty ⁓ emotional letter that he wrote. So it's, you know, it's time to just hang it up. So shout out to the GOAT. Thank you for all the soccer. I know we covered soccer a little bit, especially like the World Cup and stuff. And I think we did a fair share of saying Messi's name this year. So, you know, I d I we were never with like the biggest followers of just like soccer before, but I I love the World Cup. And then ⁓ Messi also playing with Miami, like just seeing him retire, it's kind of crazy, but ⁓ I think he's still gonna play with the Miami team. He's just retiring from like the national side of soccer. No more World Cups. And then ⁓ Djokovic might retire from tennis. He just lost in the first round of the US Open. I actually watched that on Sunday night. The match went into like midnight. He was having some just like fatigue issues and some injury issues, so I think it'd be best for him to retire, hang it up. Yeah. This is actually I think they said it's like the first time the second round of one of the ma tennis majors won't have Yokovic, ⁓ Federer or N Nadal in the second round. That's it's crazy. And like the last I think it's like since like nineteen ninety nine or something like that. So just shows how dominant those those big three have been in tennis. Alright, Ethan, and to get into wrapping up the show, I got one final question for you. So we've talked about the super teams a little bit, especially with the Rams. Which super team actually has the best chance to win it all this year? So we have the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers. We have the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams. Then we also have the MLB with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, if you need me to let you know just who's on those teams, we have the 76ers, it has LeBron. Joel MB, Tyrese Maxie, Jalen Brown, and BJ Edgecomb. With the Rams, we have Aaron Donald, Matthew Stafford, Kukunakua, Miles Garrett, and Devontae Adams. And then with the Dodgers, of course, we have Shohei Otani, Tarek Scuble, Freddie Freeman, Muki Betts, and Yashinobu Yamamoto. I feel like to me this is a no brainer saying that the Dodgers are the best like super team just because ⁓ they have I mean they have everything that you need covered. Right. They have probably one of the best pitching staffs, they have a great like defense behind the pitching staff, and I mean offensively any one of them guys can get hot. I mean, Freeman, Shohei, Mookie Like any of ⁓ Hernandez. I like the Dodgers, but if I had to say which super team's the best, I'm gonna say the Rams. Really? Yeah, we know the Dodgers. They've won the last two World Series, but I mean they've been kind of struggling late in this MLB season so far. I mean I like the Rams, especially adding Aaron Donald, Miles Garrett, Matthew Stafford. Like they just have a bunch of vets, and then not to mention Puka Nakua and Devontae Adams at receiver. And then they have Sean McVay heading it up all right there. Like it's I think they're the best. And then if I had to rank like the the least of the super teams, I'd say the seventy sixers. I don't even think they have the best odds to win NBA this next year. I mean let's let's be honest. LeBron is probably should be coming off the bench at this point in his career, how old and stuff he is. I mean, if you were to put LeBron off the bench? Yeah. Absolutely not. I he's getting old. He's can't and it's hard for him to play defense like he's still averaging twenty. Yeah, but I feel like this day and age to be good and all, you gotta be averaging like thirty, forty ish almost. Triple doubles. I mean that's they got Joel and Tyrese and Jalen Brown for all that. They just need they just need LeBron to play like a you know, a third fiddle or fourth fiddle. Not off the bench though. I don't know. That's just Now sign him for the league minimum. You might put up with That's just my hot take, all right? All right, all right. So you okay, you you're you're going with the Dodgers and I'd say the Rams. Okay. And we both agree the seventy sixers are the least out of the super. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. Is there any other super teams that I missed? Any other sports? I don't think hockey has I don't think hockey has super team. Hockey, no. There's no s there's no super driver out of the out of the NASCAR. No. Scotty Scheffler could be like a super team by himself in golf. ⁓ I think a team it has to be a team, like Yeah. An actual team. Maybe Ohio State? Like maybe like a college team. Ooh, yeah, college. Yeah, Ohio State or Or Oregon. Oregon, yeah. I just feel like college doesn't really have like a super team. Right. Well it's I think there's like a there's like a five wedding. Yeah. And every four years it automatically like at four to six years, it ought resets basically. Yeah, that's what these these other like leagues, like the professional leagues, should look at college like every four years we should just have like another a full draft. That that would be pretty cool actually. Yeah, if they just like were like, we're just gonna let everyone draft again. Yeah. Everyone's getting everyone's getting cut from a team. Maybe you can keep one or two players and then everyone else has to be I like redrafted. I do too. Yeah we might we might have been we might be onto something here. ⁓ huh. Although that would suck for the fans. You have to get a new jersey every four years if they don't end up dropping your player. Yes, it true. But team wise, like I mean, team owner wise, you're making more money because you got to sell more jerseys. I you're selling more jerseys. That could work. I think we're onto something. I think we are too. Jerry Jones, give us a call. All right, we're gonna close out the show. Thank you, Ethan, for once again joining the show, helping me co host here.
