- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And now, here's Steve and Jeff.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Well, hey, Johnny, thanks for getting us into the show.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: And uh, Jeff, I gotta tell you, I looked at Google Epithetics again today.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Hadn't looked at them in a while, but I went there today.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Jeff, we have the best podcast, number one podcast on Google Epithetics.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: All the other podcasts have been obliterated, they're done.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Good word.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: They've been fighting for hundreds of years to be the best podcast, but they're all done.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: They're not coming back.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Have we notified them that we're the best?
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: Because you know, sometimes if you don't notify them, yeah.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: No, well, I notified them before the article came out, and then the article came out.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so so they know, yeah, yeah.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: But hey, how are you doing, Jeff?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: How's it going?
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Uh it's going okay.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm really dragging here.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I I didn't sleep well last night.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: I had uh you do you do the gummies, right?
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I do the gummies, yeah.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Gummies usually work, but I'm not doing them right now, but I did them last night.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: No, for bad, yeah.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you know, I I I tend to have some really bad dreams, and I had one last night that was pretty disturbing, and uh, you know, so I I really only had a couple hours sleep.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: This is this is not how we became Google Apathetics number one podcast.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: This is so formulaic.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, now it's good to have a structure to the show, but everybody knows anybody that's listened to even one other episode knows this is a part of the show where I ask you what the dream was, and you tell me a joke about dreaming and and dreams, especially.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, I you we've had so many people on that talked about dreams.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: We had an expert that talked about dreams, what you eat is what you dream, and then somebody else we had on that talked about how she had dreams that led her to money.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: And so now, Jeff, as nothing personal, even though I guess I am talking to just you, so but it's not personal, it's just business.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Maybe we should skip this part and go to something a little more interesting, maybe something a little more exciting, something a little more original, maybe for a change.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: And and Jeff, you know, as as it happens, I have just the thing, I have an idea that literally I it's gonna change everything.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: This it is it is a disruptor idea, it is gonna change everything, not just for our show, but for the world.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I'm I'm really interested, you know.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: I think it's uh amazing that you know, with all the inventions and all the thing that all the things that man has created over time that that you have the key to to life, you know, it feels very kingish.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: But oh it is.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I'm the king of original ideas, let me tell you.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but but Steve, uh we've been together a long time, and I know we've done those intros a lot, but I I wanted to tell you, this is not that joke.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: I'm not telling a joke at the beginning.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: I literally didn't get any sleep last night, and it was because of this dream that I had.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: And I I think I really need your help.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: So maybe we can talk about how you've changed the world, but I really would like to to go into this dream and maybe you can really help me.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: And but but I swear it's not some stupid intro joke.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Well, Jeff, I again, not not personal, but you know, I am talking to you.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Uh Jeff, I know it's a bit.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, we always do we well, we always do this.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Uh it's a bit.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, come on, we you know, we're starting with a bit.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: We really should start with my idea.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't know what to say.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: I'm surprised.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Again, I guess we've been working together for 50, 60, 70 years, and yeah, you know, or so, yeah.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and you would think that we would trust each other a little bit more, but obviously not.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: All I'm saying is this is for real.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: I know you don't believe me, but you know, what is it gonna take?
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Two minutes for me to explain my dream, and and you're you have such great insight into some of the dreams that we've you know that we've both shared in the past.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: And I just think it would be really helpful.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: And then I'm all into listening about how you can change the world with uh with your your great idea.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, you know, Jeff, I I guess you're right.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: I've been a little on edge lately, and you know, we are best friends, so I I've been a little on edge, I gotta tell you, because I read that a certain borders are is getting a lot of hate mail.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I tell you, it's so it's getting so you can't even be a criminal degenerate anymore.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I I don't know what's happening to the country.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: So uh anyway, okay.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Uh I digress.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Tell me what your dream was, and you know, I'll see if I can help.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I'm usually thanks, I'm usually pretty good with dream interpretation.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, haven't made money out of yet though, but hey, you know, you never know.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Could happen.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, at the end of the of the day, maybe that is how you'll change the world by interpreting people's dreams because you are really good at it.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Maybe and I just want to thank you.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: So you know, you're the best, you know, you're my best friend.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: So praise me, praise me.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: That makes me want to listen more.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Yes, please.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so, anyways, in this dream, this disturbing dream, I walk into this bar and I have no money.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: No, that's no dream, that's reality.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, what I digress was so real.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I think that's why I didn't get any sleep.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: I was really thirsty, and I asked the bartender, can I have a drink?
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And he's like, Not if you don't have any money.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And I said, Well, if I can show you a really good trick, will you give me a free drink?
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: And the bartender, he looks at me and he kind of sees that I really am down and out on my luck.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And you know, he wants to be supportive, you know, like you are with me.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: And so he says, All right, if you can do something, you know, a trick that's really interesting, then I'll give you a drink.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: So I reach into my left pocket and I pull out this tiny rat in the stream.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Then I reach into my other pocket, my right pocket, and I pull out this really tiny piano.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: And the rat stretches and and cracks his knuckles, and then he proceeds to play the blues like nobody's ever played before.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: See, see, I I knew I knew it.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: I knew I knew you, I knew this was a bit.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Uh, this isn't a dream.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: This is and why would that keep you up all night?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: A rat playing piano.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, you not like you haven't seen that before.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, come on, this is a bit.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Uh we do we let's just start the show.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, I know it sounds bad, but uh trust me, this is not a joke, this is for real.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: And here's the scary part.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Trust me, it gets more interesting.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, the rat was sneering.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Rat played scary scary music on the piano.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Uh okay, all right, all right.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: He could only play in B flat.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: So you know, that was that was it.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: No, I'm now I'm joking, but it is it is a serious dream.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: So go ahead, go ahead.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, I'm again still a little on edge.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: The borders are male and stuff, and then and then I'm also excited to tell you about and and our audience too, about this amazing idea.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I I can wait a minute or two more.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Go, go ahead, go ahead.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, thank you again.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: That it means a lot to me.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: So, anyways, maybe I should start over.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: So I walk into this bar and and in my dream, of course, I don't have any money, and you know, I offer to do something sensational, and I pull out this rat with my in my left pocket and this uh piano on my right, and he gives me a drink.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: You know, at this point, I can remember that.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: You you had that dream before.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, I did it was a minute.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: It's a reoccurring.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, all right, yeah, okay.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: So then, you know, I have the free drink, and then I, you know, I want to have another drink.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And again, I know you want to get on with your your great idea, but uh let me just kind of finish this.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I'm looking for another drink, and I I asked the bartender if I can have another drink.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: He says, No, he says, I already gave you the one free drink.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: And I said, Well, what if I show you a better trick?
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Will you give me free drinks the rest of the night?
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: And the bartender said, sure.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: You know, if I if you can do that, and I think he was feeling sorry for me a little bit, and he was also thinking there's no trick better than a rat playing the piano.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: But he said, if you can do that, I'll give you drinks the rest of the night.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: So I reach into my left pocket again, and I pull out the rat, and then I reach into my right pocket and I pull out the the tiny piano.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, Jeff, I I just not to interrupt, but you need a new dry cleaner if you got rats in your pockets.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm just saying, but but go ahead, go ahead, please.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so uh the rat stretches, cracks his his knuckles, and he starts to play the blues.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Well, sure.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: And then I reach into my back pocket and I pull out a the small bullfrog.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: He's listening to the music and he begins to sing along with with the piano, and it's amazing.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: The bartender gave me drinks the rest of the night.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I can imagine that would be amazing.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: That is that is a very strange dream, I gotta tell you.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, I you're mixing rats and bullfrogs.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, not to mention B flat piano, but is that it?
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Is that well if it was if that was the end of the dream, I I don't think I would lose a lot of sleep, but you know, not quite.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: Because while I was drinking, another stranger confronts me and he offers me a hundred thousand dollars for the bullfrog.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: He wants to buy the bullfrog.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, see, they always want the singer, not the talented piano player, they always want the singer, yeah.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: No, and I and I'm like, no way, you know, I'm not I'm not selling the bullfrog's not for sale.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And the stranger says, Well, I'll give you a quarter of a million dollars for your bullfrog.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, No, he's not for sale.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: And then he says, Well, I'll give you a half a million dollars in cash.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: And finally I agree, and he takes the bullfrog and and he leaves the bar.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: And the bartender is looking at me, freaking out, and he's like, Why are you insane?
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: This frog, along with the rest of the band, is worth millions of dollars.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: You only got a half a million for it.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: And I said to him, Don't worry about it.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: The frog, he can't sing, he's nothing special.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: You see, the rats have been triloquist.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, see, you know, I I somehow I knew there you go.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: You know, are you happy now?
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: You you got the joke, you got the joke in the show.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but no, it is a real it is a real dream, Steve.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: I just want you to know.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: But well, but I am interested in what what great idea you have.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, if the dreams are done for now.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, if that that was it, there's not like a there's not like a chipmunk in your third pocket or whatever.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Uh okay, all right.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: No, and it's not glad to see you.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Well, I I wouldn't be either if a chipmunk was in my pocket.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: I'd be I'd be jumping around, but but I digress.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Uh this idea, I guess it's just I am just so excited about this idea.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: You know, last week we did a show about movies, you remember?
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and this idea actually came to me while I was watching a movie.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: It wasn't one of those movies.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: This was uh a pre-approval movie, you know, it was before the junta.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Uh it was this old movie.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Sorry, it started Doris Day, Mel Torme, Johnny Ray, Tina Faye, Charlie Day, Michael Che, and Fabian.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: And uh Fabian was added later.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Well, he was, yeah.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: No, he had a very important role, though.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: It was a movie about this fake psychic who joins a carnival and things all go to hell.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: See, Johnny Ray played the psychic, uh, Fabian played hell.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: As you know, Jeff, I've always been kind of a tech bro at heart.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: And so I started thinking maybe there's something to this whole psychic thing.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Maybe that could be harnessed to power machines to turn on lights.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Imagine driving your car with just your mind.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: That would be amazing.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: I I think that's uh cooking dinner with just your mind.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Having dreams with just your mind, having dreams with just your mind, getting free drinks and you know, a bar with you know a bunch of rats with your mind, you know.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: It's all about limbic resonance.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it would take too long to explain, but it's you know, limbic is like release your arms and legs.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: So but and it's and I I tell you, Jeff, this is really, really, really first principle thinking.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: This is never nothing like this has ever happened.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: And oh Jeff, people are saying everybody's telling me, and oh boy, do we have first mover advantage?
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: I I I gotta tell people are calling me up, begging me to make deals.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: I mean they're saying, Steve, please let me in on this.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: There's never been a better idea in the history of mankind.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: I gotta get into this.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: I'll give you whatever you want, I'll give you money.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: I can make a hundred deals in a hundred days uh in a week.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: I bet I could bring five thousand trillion dollars into the country.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: I bet I could.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I think Steve, these big ideas they take a little processing.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: I need to absorb it, I need to feel it, I need to understand it better.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: But in the meantime, I have a question for you.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: And yeah, you know, because you know, you're so good at you're just such a smart guy.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: And so in my dream, who was the rat in in my real life?
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm thinking it's Kathy.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: It's probably Fabian, but but I digress.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Could be Fabian, could be Fabian, yeah.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean, uh if it was a red rat, that would probably be more indicative of Kathy, but you know, misunderstood, smart, talented, creepy a little, but no, not that she is, but so what do you think?
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: Are you thinking that that that could be Kathy?
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Never really occurred to me.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm thinking more about what if you could solve this dream with the power of your mind?
- 14:11unknown: Wow.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: What if you could do that?
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: If you could just turn on like a little motor in your head and solve the dream, you'd be the N of one.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, this is gonna be such a revolutionary idea.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I just I can't wait for the first round and then of course the mezzanine finance.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: I can't wait for all that.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: You you're gonna see a hockey stick on the valuation.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, we're talking convex returns.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, and and I I do want to know more about this, and maybe you could even explain to me now.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: How do they put the motor into my brain?
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: How does it fit?
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Is it surgery?
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Is it I'm a little confused about the process.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, it's I'm more of an idea man myself.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: I don't really understand the mechanics of it, how exactly it's gonna work yet.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: I'll let the VCs figure that out.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: That that's part of their attack vector.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Not I'm the idea guy, you know.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: We we are talking frictionless broetry in motion.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Wow, I have no idea what that means.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: And you know, speaking of not knowing what it means, when we're talking the piano, when you know, I mean the rat could have come out and he could have played the guitar, he could have played flute, you know.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: They've I think they've got pretty pretty big lips.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: And I've seen rat flutes, yeah.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so but like Pie Piper and all that stuff, yeah.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but why a piano?
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Piano is it like the beauty and the beast, you know, where the the rat's ugly and the piano is classy, you know, is maybe the piano's you, maybe creating something like you are now, what appears to be some big idea.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: But what do you where do you think that that piano comes from?
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: And what do you think it means?
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Well, I think the piano is an example of limbic resonance, and and it's the same concept that's in my idea here.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: I think that's an example of using your limbs to play an instrument.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Now, granted, you would use your limbs to play most instruments, really, but something about the piano is very limb heavy.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: You're hitting the keys with your fingers and your arms, and then you're using the pedals with your foot.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: So you're actually using both sets of limbs.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So hence the limbic resonance that is lossless compression.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Again, I have no idea what lossless compression is, but it sounds painful.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: No, I'll leave that to the VCs.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Is that okay?
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: I think you're on to something, and I think we should work on that together.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: Um, I just have one other question.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Well, actually, more than one other question, but I'm wondering about the bullfrog.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Now, I had watched the movie Atlantic City.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Do you remember that movie that starred Bert Lancaster?
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Meltor May, Dorisday, Fay Ray.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: It could have been them.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it would.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: I remember that one.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: But do you and was Susan Sarandon in it?
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Susan Sarandon had those big eyes, and I'm thinking this bullfrog may have been residue from my dream before about Susan Sarandon, my my daydream or night dream or you know, wet dream or whatever dream that might have been.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Now, not to not to digress from my idea, but in if you have this dream again, maybe using some of this limbic resonance, you turn on the little motor in your head and make yourself in the dream kiss the frog, and the frog may become Susan Sarandon.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: I would like that.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: And I do remember that frog kind of shapely.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, there you go.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, I well, I mean, as bullfrog still.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, yeah.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's frogs for for a frog, right?
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it could, and bullfrog could be Kathy, you know.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying that it's not Kathy, but I I just for some reason I'm I'm thinking that's it.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Now back to your to the brain here.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: So is are we talking surgery or are we talking like is it outpatient or is it how how is how is this transferred into somebody to make them smarter?
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Because I obviously need to be smarter.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's really it's really just a kind of a second-order effect of your mental energy that's already happening.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: You're just instead of having it roll around in your head, which causes headaches, by the way.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: I don't know if people know that, but that energy rolling around in your head causes lots of headaches.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: This is a way of putting that energy out.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: So what you do is you would you would just think that and it would happen.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like you know how, like, oh, I don't know, when somebody's doing, let's say, a press conference and they don't want to talk about something because it didn't go so well, but they just say it went well.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: And then everybody nods and says, Oh, look, very good, nice, yes, it went very well.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, see, I mean, I've heard of that.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: People are already using this principle, and and that's why we really got to jump on it because somebody somebody else is gonna come up with this soon, I'm sure.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: And if that is the case, I don't know.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: I'm you know, my phone, Kathy and my phones work off of different charging system, you know, plugs, which I hate.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: So, will this be have some sort of a charging device or some sort of a plug-in that and will it be you know the iPhone version, the newer one, or the older one?
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Because I'm not spending extra money, I don't care how smart I could get, I'm not buying another cord.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: I've got cords everywhere, Steve.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, Jeff, this is gonna disrupt all that way of thinking.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: You don't need to buy an Android or an Apple plug.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: You are the plug.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: You're the plug.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: Be the plug.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's you.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: You want your phone charged?
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Just look at it, say charge, and it's charged.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Now I'm interested.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Again, just one last question.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: Why is it that I didn't have any money in my dreams?
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean, I'm a guy who, you know, I mean, we've made millions off of this show, and you know, I I live a number one show.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I live a life where you know people would die to be me, and uh some have died to be me.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: So I I don't understand why I am I poor in that joke.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Is it because I'm gonna be poor, or is it because I'm I was already poor?
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Maybe I don't really have money, and I think I I don't know.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: Can you help me out with that?
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: To use my invention for a minute here, I'm gonna I'm gonna turn it on in my head, and then maybe maybe I can come to the answer that you're looking for.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Maybe I can come to the reason that you see yourself as poor in this dream.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm gonna turn it on.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: You ready?
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, this might cause a little fr a little static on the on the devices here.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: So okay, it's on.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: You got any static?
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Okay, no static yet?
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 21:02unknown: What?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, there you go.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: See?
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, all right.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: I I gotta turn it down.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: I I'm blasting it here.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: So now in in your dream, it's not a dream.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: I know this is a real thing.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: But in your in your thoughts here, are you gonna make a lot of money?
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: And how do you how do you bill something like that?
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm going to make more money than has existed on the face of the earth ever.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna own it all.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be able to buy Elon Musk and send him back to wherever he's from.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: I am gonna have so much money.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: This thing, I'll tell you, once this takes off, this is everybody's gonna be doing this because uh you won't need to buy all this other stuff.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: And so, you know, we could charge a lot for this because you won't have to buy gas for your car, you won't have to buy electricity.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you you won't need electricity in your home.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: You just think it.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Now, similar to the guy who came in and offered the half a million dollars for my book.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Bullfrog, I'm sure Elon's gonna want to buy this, right?
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: So is it up for sale?
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you how do you monetize this if you wanted to make some quick cash?
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: Well, what are you thinking uh it would cost?
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: We'd need to really let the first couple of growth loops happen before you know before we'd really put a price on it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: That's kind of a day two problem.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: The first problem is really getting it out and getting the funding and and putting the money together and you know figuring out you know, like how it works.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: But once we do all that, then we can start looking at valuation.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: And I don't know.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: I I don't think I'd want to sell it, you know.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, I just keep running it, you know.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm still focused on growth loops.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Now I I I remember fruit loops.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was gonna say it's a Kellogg cereal, you know.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: And was that a bullfrog on the cover, or was that uh that was a different one?
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: That was he was on uh sugar smacks there for they got rid of the bear.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: They had a bear when we were little kids, but then they got rid of the bear and they put a frog on for some reason.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: I yeah, that's right.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: That I never understood that one, but yeah, that's very interesting.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: I I'm sure Elon, if he ended up buying it, it would be put to good use, you know.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: His whole family.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: It's funny because I just read an article about his father.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: What a family guy he is.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: You know, oh yeah, he has 8,000 kids, right?
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Doesn't he?
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and and actually he he was he completed the circle of life, right?
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: Because supposedly his father adopted a girl.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: This is something Woody Allen dreams about, you know, he he adopted a girl and they had two kids.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: And and to me, that is the most efficient way to raise a family, to you know, just keep everything, you know, internally.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: And now, do you think in retrospect that he regrets doing that and that maybe this invention will help him see that maybe there was a better way to do it?
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: I don't even know if he's alive anymore.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: I would assume he's not, but yeah, no, I I I think he is because I I think he came up with an invention that kind of like vampirism, you know, it keeps you know really detestable people alive forever, and they and they just prey on the living, you know.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I no, I think he is still alive, but you know, there's a lot of economy in what he did because you think about it, you you save all that time and money of changing names when you get married, you know.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, already got the same last name, you know, doesn't matter, right?
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: And electricity, they say, you know, electricity is like a version of life, right?
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: So Elon probably started by you know keeping him alive through electricity, and yeah, you know, he probably had children that way too.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: And yeah, you know, well, I think he did, yeah.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: And and I think Elon, I think he met a guy who had come up with the idea of electricity to prolong life, and then he bought and he forced the guy out, I think is how that worked.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: But I digress.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, you're really talking about isomorphism.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: That's really a principle that is gonna is gonna be very important in in this this idea as they develop it, as it really gets rolling and as it gets out to the market, that isomorphism is gonna be is gonna be critical.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Now, is there gonna be a uh glossary of terms for oh yeah, it'll come with a user meaning.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, okay.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: Because I you you had me at little tiny motors or something, you know, which I kind of understood, but uh you know, you know, it's gonna take it's it's gonna take a real intellectual pivot.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: I gotta tell you, it's gonna take a real intellectual pivot.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: And well, I just feel like Steve, I just feel like I'm lost and worthless, and it's like that dream, you know, it's like there I was, didn't have any money, wanted something to drink, and the whole world's drinking, and I'm not.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: And and I just feel like, you know, if it wasn't for having you know an animal in my pocket, otherwise I would have had nothing.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Well, the piano, yeah, and the bullshit.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, and you had a frog and you had a rat and you had a piano.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: And and and the rat was a ventrolloquist.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, hey, uh, how many rat ventrolloquists?
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I've met a ventrolloquist once I didn't like very much, but I don't I don't think it's a rat, you know.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: I mean yeah, and that projection, that projecting through ventriloquism, it almost implies, and maybe this is a again an Elon Musk thing where it's like you're famous by stealing other people's voices.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: And you know, maybe is that what we're looking at here for your invention that it could get stolen?
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: I was I was just gonna say funny you should say projection because my idea is somewhat like ventroloquism.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: It's you're putting that voice in you you're just doing the voice and somebody else is talking it.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: You know, a dummy or in this case a you know a rat, a frog, right?
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: But somebody else is talking it.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: That's kind of that's kind of what we're talking about here.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: You'd have you would think it, and then the machine would react, or the person would react.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: Now, how did you come up with this idea, Steve?
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Because it sounds like it's a dream.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: Did you was this originally a dream as well?
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Or how did how did you well, yeah, I say it was when I was watching this movie, and and you know, Mel Torme was a psychic and and uh Fabian was hell, and and so you know they they went back and forth, and I I gotta admit, I you know, I did I did a gummy before the movie, and I kind of nodded off a little bit during the movie.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: So I don't think it was a dream, I think it was really in the movie.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have to watch it again though, to be sure.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: But I think that's where I think it was really in there from that movie.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Using that psychic energy in the movie, I started thinking, you know, what if we could harness that?
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: What if we could turn that into like light a light bulb with it?
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, maybe that's the first experiment.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: That'll be our end of one.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: You know, we'll light a light bulb.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: And what if maybe we could make stuff go off a shelf?
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then and then what if what if some high school girl that could do this went to her prom and they all the cool kids all made fun of her and then she got back at them?
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't that be a great movie?
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: Now that's another another dream that I could end up having.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Now, when you're saying harness, are we talking like a harness the size of like a rat where you'd put the harness on the rat, or would the harness actually be you know bigger than that?
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: Well, it's it's it's like it's a theoretical harness.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: It's hard to put a size to it because it's a theoretical rat.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: It's a theoretical rat, too.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: So harness go ahead and harness it.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: But you know, it's it's kind of in the in the cosmos, in the ethos, in the porthos, in the Artemis.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: It's it's just out there.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: And so it's not really of a size per se.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: It is huge and small, it is sizable and size-less.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: It the cat is in the box and is not in the box.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: It is it is just so exciting.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: One minute it's large and the next minute it's not.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: Well, I know I've had that problem too.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: It sounds like I'm gonna have some dreams this evening.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: So yeah, no, this should be fodder for your dreams.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but yeah.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: And speaking of fodder, so Elon's father was was an interesting guy.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Did you ever see a picture of him?
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: Because he's I think I did.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I think I did.
- 29:47SPEAKER_01: Looks a little bit like his grandma.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: You remember the old Alfred Hitchcock TV show, right?
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: No, there was this Alfred Hitchcock TV episode where yeah, he walked out of the silhouette, but there was this one episode where this guy, some rich guy, was killing off all his relatives, and actually his dad looks like the looks like the guy in that show, I gotta tell you.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I I don't know.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's him.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: I'll have to go look that up.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: So was William Shatner the the star of it?
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Was he?
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't think Shatner was in it.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: I think that I think uh Mel Torme was, though.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: I remember, and he uh sang very well.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: He played a singer who was loosely related to this rich guy, and you know that was that was the drama.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: I think the rich guy was a very good thing.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: Mel Tor May kind of kind of looks like a bullfrog.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh yeah a little bit.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Kind of has those that that look.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: So oh, absolutely.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but um well, good.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Well, it sounds to me like we're off to a good start, and maybe I won't be having those dreams anymore about not having money once.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Oh, are are you cutting me in on this idea?
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: I hope, because you know, we are best friends.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: You know, I think there's a role for you in it.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: I think there's a a place for you if you could figure out how any of this could work, I think there's a real role for you in it.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: Because I, you know, I like I say I get the idea and I figure other people got to figure it out.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: Well, maybe maybe you could be one of those people.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and maybe the solution will be for me to go to bed early tonight, dream it, yeah, and then come and present what I've dreamed, and you know, you can help determine exactly what that what that means.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: That's it exactly.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: And so we are actually just about to get kicked out of eccentric Lady Land Studios, which by the way, once this idea really gets rolling, I'm gonna buy eccentric Lady Land Studios.
- 31:33SPEAKER_00: We'll never get kicked out, but I digress.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: So why don't you go right to bed?
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: You have that dream, and then next show we'll talk.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: Sounds good.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: I'm I I feel like we've accomplished something here, and I think we did, you know, and and you know, even though it was a joke, but yeah.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, now we can be told.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh yeah, okay.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: Like I didn't know that.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: I when I say it was a joke, I meant your idea.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: So oh no, I don't know.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, is this for real?
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's for real.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm looking at it.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: I got VCs, I got VCs looking at it right now.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: No, they're in a bidding war, they can't wait to make a deal with me.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: They're calling me, they're knocking on my door right now.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: In fact, I hear them.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: See, even though my door is miles from here, right?
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: I hear them.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: Keep in mind I I was very supportive of this.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, absolutely.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: Well, you have that dream, and we'll talk.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: And Johnny, get us out of this show.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: All right, Steve.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Guests of the Steve and Jeff show stay at the sparsely maintained yet emotionally appalling Harney Hotel, where mate service has been cut to once every third week for your convenience.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: If you can't stand the smell, you're at the Hardy Hotel.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: And promotional consideration has been provided by PharmaPro, makers of the elite sleep medication No Dream.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: And in every country in Europe, you can get relief from bad dreams right here at home.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: One pill a day keeps the rat asleep away.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: No dream from Pharmafree.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: We charge more because we can.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: This has been a musical rat production in association with Burn Rake Media.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: Read all about Steven Jeff at their website, stepenjap.com.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: This is Johnny speaking.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: His mom and I are letting these great powdered meatfakes.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Why, just last night, she thought I should get another gallon of pop-up.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: And wouldn't you know?
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: Right at that exact moment, I was buying another gallon of pop-off.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Talk about instinct.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: I'd call that vertical integration.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: And the horizontal pretty integrated too.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: Good night.
