- 1:35Speaker 1: and right now Charleston, it's like fifty something degrees and
- 1:38Speaker 1: its supposed to go down to the freezing. I am
- 1:41Speaker 1: sick and tired of this weather. And I'm about to
- 1:43Speaker 1: say it. I'm tired of this bipolar weather. And I'm
- 1:45Speaker 1: not talking about my people that have this ability. Y'all
- 1:48Speaker 1: know my sister had one and I love you God.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Plus my homeboy at work, and that's my boy. He
- 1:54Speaker 1: has a disability. But this weather, this is how my
- 1:58Speaker 1: granny said, this is the weather that gets y'all pull up. Okay,
- 2:02Speaker 1: but that's all. I just a little confused. But tonight
- 2:08Speaker 1: it's a first for Sci bookyuds and friends chat. I
- 2:12Speaker 1: have a graphic novel author of you guys, I've never
- 2:16Speaker 1: done that before. Now have I ever read a graphic novel?
- 2:20Speaker 1: I have, and it was about a little young boy
- 2:25Speaker 1: who got involved with a gang. I forgot it. It was
- 2:27Speaker 1: black and white and it was a good book. Okay,
- 2:32Speaker 1: but my daughter, that's the graphic novel. Queen that chicks
- 2:37Speaker 1: loves graphic novel and there's a lot of people who
- 2:41Speaker 1: are against it, and I'm like, why, it's just visual literacy.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Get over it. Okay, these kids days, a lot of
- 2:51Speaker 1: kids do not do the traditional word or we say
- 2:55Speaker 1: the traditional brick and mortar when we talk to school stuff. Okay,
- 3:00Speaker 1: some of these kids, they're a visual and that's me.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You want to get me to read your book, show
- 3:06Speaker 1: me a fly cover and I'm gonna read your book.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Your book me suck, but I'll start it because of
- 3:11Speaker 1: the cover. So I have my first graphic novel author
- 3:19Speaker 1: and it's mind blowing because I want to know why
- 3:22Speaker 1: graphic novels. Please tell me what's going on the mind
- 3:26Speaker 1: of this eleven year old daughter? I got, so I'm
- 3:29Speaker 1: gonna pick his mind. Okay, So you got, I'm about
- 3:32Speaker 1: to bring up mister Gerald. We know we're going first
- 3:35Speaker 1: and pieces here, So come on up, Come on up.
- 3:40Speaker 1: How are you?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Hey? How are you doing? Patres? Look up in the air,
- 3:47Speaker 2: Look up in the sky. It's your new favorite comic
- 3:49Speaker 2: book guy with your with the voice that's old soul,
- 3:52Speaker 2: fly what's popular? How are you doing?
- 3:54Speaker 1: I am good, I'm not I'm gonna stop you right there?
- 3:58Speaker 1: Are you? Okay? What people see in comic book?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yes, that's fine, Yes, okay, of course.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Okay, So you guys are wander like trees? What are
- 4:07Speaker 1: you talking about?
- 4:08Speaker 2: All right?
- 4:08Speaker 1: So y'all know I worked for a library. Right? Did
- 4:10Speaker 1: y'all say the name? Because I don't want to get
- 4:12Speaker 1: in no trouble. But y'all know I works for a library. Right.
- 4:15Speaker 1: People hate the word graphic novel.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah, people know you love the word graphic novel.
- 4:20Speaker 1: They hate the word comic.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's weird. I mean, well hold on, let me
- 4:26Speaker 2: we listen. We don't judge, right, but you know, being
- 4:29Speaker 2: a guy who you know, first off, my first comic book.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I got my first comic book back when I was
- 4:35Speaker 2: at least like eight years old, back when Spider Man
- 4:38Speaker 2: one dropped in theaters, and ever since I seen that movie,
- 4:42Speaker 2: you know, I was hooked. You know, my dad would
- 4:44Speaker 2: buy me, you know, his comic books and whatnot. So
- 4:47Speaker 2: you know, if I wanted to learn more about Spider
- 4:50Speaker 2: Man or about any superhero character, I had to pick
- 4:52Speaker 2: up a comic, you know, and comics they get like
- 4:56Speaker 2: this bad rep that they're not loaded with information or
- 5:01Speaker 2: like educative elements. But hey, comic books, graphic novels, whatever
- 5:06Speaker 2: you want to call it, man, d shit, they are.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I mean when I bring books home to my daughter. Okay,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna back it up. When I went to my
- 5:18Speaker 1: daughter's school for like the parent meet the teacher, parent
- 5:23Speaker 1: teacher night whatever, one of her teachers said she does
- 5:29Speaker 1: not want the kids reading graphic novel I looked at her,
- 5:33Speaker 1: and who you play with? I said, Yeah, my daughter
- 5:39Speaker 1: loves graphic novels. She don't sit down here in writing
- 5:42Speaker 1: regular books, but she's really drawn to graphic novels. And
- 5:46Speaker 1: tell the fact that I see her drawing her own pictures.
- 5:51Speaker 1: My daughter is going to be the artistic type. Okayes, yes,
- 5:55Speaker 1: dance music. Please Lord don't let her start singing, because
- 6:00Speaker 1: I don't think she could sing. But you ain't hear that,
- 6:02Speaker 1: baby mummy love you. She loves to draw, she loves slime,
- 6:08Speaker 1: she loves putting stuff together, she loves markers. So when
- 6:12Speaker 1: that teacher told me that she doesn't want the kids
- 6:15Speaker 1: to do graphic novels or comic books, I felt like
- 6:18Speaker 1: that was stunning their growth.
- 6:21Speaker 2: So I agree, yes, that's.
- 6:24Speaker 1: On my mind. You got to tell us a little
- 6:27Speaker 1: bit about yourself.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yes, of course, so as I say, tod, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 2: not trying to sound too bragged due, but I have
- 6:36Speaker 2: your new favorite comic book creator that you never heard
- 6:38Speaker 2: of until today, until this very second. You know, I
- 6:42Speaker 2: am a mental health advocate. I love like sci fi,
- 6:48Speaker 2: elements of horror, fantasy, those are my favorite genres. And
- 6:54Speaker 2: one day, you know, during COVID, I just got bored
- 6:57Speaker 2: one day and I was like, you know what I
- 7:00Speaker 2: can tell. I bet you I can tell the next
- 7:02Speaker 2: best sci fi tale of the century. And you know,
- 7:07Speaker 2: it started as a dream, and now it's evolving into
- 7:11Speaker 2: a physical, tangible thing that you yourself at home, can purchase
- 7:15Speaker 2: or anyone can purchase at you know, a comic shop,
- 7:19Speaker 2: at any of my local comic shops in here in Buffalo,
- 7:22Speaker 2: New York, and yeah, that's how it's going thus far.
- 7:26Speaker 2: And of course, the main theme of these tales Kyrus
- 7:29Speaker 2: Layer Kaiju, It's basically the main theme is mental health
- 7:32Speaker 2: awareness because it's basically about a twelve year old boy
- 7:36Speaker 2: who gets access of this alien nanotechnology and the suit
- 7:41Speaker 2: responds to his emotions. So let's say he's feeling like
- 7:46Speaker 2: really stressed out, that suit has the potential to backfire
- 7:50Speaker 2: on him. But if he's feeling like really courageous and
- 7:54Speaker 2: really really what's the word, If he's like feeling himself,
- 8:00Speaker 2: it has the potential to like either unlock a new
- 8:02Speaker 2: ability or transformation, if that makes sense.
- 8:07Speaker 1: So, you know, you just did so much in one book?
- 8:14Speaker 2: Did I?
- 8:15Speaker 1: The fact of is a comic. The main character is
- 8:19Speaker 1: a twelve year old and you're having the baseline of
- 8:24Speaker 1: mental issues or topic. The topic of the book is
- 8:29Speaker 1: dealing with mint issues. You know, you just hit three
- 8:32Speaker 1: burials right there, and three barriers that really don't get
- 8:36Speaker 1: any attention. And then and I'll tell you truth, there's
- 8:38Speaker 1: a four point five. You're an African American male and
- 8:45Speaker 1: you're talking about mental health issues. You should just get
- 8:49Speaker 1: a trophy just for that. By itself, you don't have
- 8:53Speaker 1: a lot of African American male that do comics. They're
- 8:58Speaker 1: right about mental health issues.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And why and you know what, And before I even
- 9:06Speaker 2: delve further, it's funny because a few weeks ago, I
- 9:10Speaker 2: was actually in an interview with this gentleman who was
- 9:14Speaker 2: thinking about advertising my books into his church magazine, and
- 9:20Speaker 2: I basically gave him a description like the very same
- 9:23Speaker 2: description that I just gave you, And I kid you not.
- 9:27Speaker 2: The brother started tearing up a little bit. So I
- 9:29Speaker 2: guess that's a sign that I'm doing something right. You know.
- 9:33Speaker 1: You are, because I mean, think about it, mental health
- 9:37Speaker 1: is not something that we pay attention to. What we
- 9:39Speaker 1: used to not pay attention in the black community, it
- 9:42Speaker 1: is now coming to service. We're now starting to say, hey,
- 9:45Speaker 1: I need help. Okay. One pastor that I listened to
- 9:51Speaker 1: says the two thinks you need a good pastor and
- 9:53Speaker 1: a good therapist. And believe you me, that is so true.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So the fact that you who took all of those
- 10:02Speaker 1: serious components and put it into a comic is mind blowing.
- 10:08Speaker 1: So my question to you would be why a comic?
- 10:13Speaker 1: Why not just a traditional novel?
- 10:17Speaker 2: So and I'm glad you asked what I noticed, because
- 10:20Speaker 2: I've been working in education for several years at this point,
- 10:26Speaker 2: and what I've noticed is that, you know, whenever the
- 10:29Speaker 2: kids have like free time, they either log into like
- 10:34Speaker 2: some type of comic or graphic novel, streaming app or service,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and they read like they either had they either use
- 10:43Speaker 2: us like an online service, or they're actually pulling out
- 10:45Speaker 2: like a manga book. And what kids are very this
- 10:50Speaker 2: is something that we have to take into consideration. Kids
- 10:52Speaker 2: are very visual when it pertains to like things that
- 10:56Speaker 2: they're interested in. You know, they love especially anime, anime,
- 11:02Speaker 2: anything involving like superheroes, with like really kick ass designs,
- 11:07Speaker 2: things of that nature. And so I feel like it's
- 11:11Speaker 2: it behooves all of us to basically create a tale
- 11:15Speaker 2: that's informative, action packed, and something inspiring and that can
- 11:21Speaker 2: help them basically reach their goals in terms of and
- 11:27Speaker 2: teach them something new pertaining to mental health, because like
- 11:32Speaker 2: so many of us are facing mental health crises, and
- 11:37Speaker 2: you know, I know growing up, I didn't necessarily have
- 11:42Speaker 2: too many outlets to tell me how to battle certain
- 11:46Speaker 2: mental health struggles. But you know, this is why I've
- 11:50Speaker 2: heard of the reason why I'm basically fulfilling a purpose
- 11:55Speaker 2: of being a author to help help inspire others. If
- 11:57Speaker 2: that makes sense, that.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Makes all the sense. I mean the fact that you're
- 12:05Speaker 1: that you took on that that that genre in in
- 12:12Speaker 1: those tough topics and place them in a book that
- 12:18Speaker 1: a twelve year old can be able to relate to.
- 12:26Speaker 1: That it's you actually don't know how mind blowing it is.
- 12:30Speaker 1: How mind blowing. I've seen novels and graphic novels or
- 12:35Speaker 1: comic books that deal with everyday issue. So now I'm
- 12:42Speaker 1: gonna ask you a question. You guys, I do not
- 12:45Speaker 1: I am gonna say this. I do not have a
- 12:47Speaker 1: copy of the book, but I will be getting a copy,
- 12:49Speaker 1: So don't stop your mean character, your main character. Yes,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask something real weird. Okay, do you do
- 12:59Speaker 1: you do you give your me character at at this
- 13:03Speaker 1: word in me always have a problem and NIPTI c
- 13:09Speaker 1: so yes, because I've seen graphic novels or comics that don't,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and I kind of wonder why I want to know.
- 13:22Speaker 2: So as you can, as you can tell, as I
- 13:25Speaker 2: zoom in, one can make the educated guess that Kyu
- 13:30Speaker 2: himself is of African American descent. You know he's got
- 13:34Speaker 2: like but he's half white. You feel me. No, I'm
- 13:38Speaker 2: joking as far as I know. No, As basically I
- 13:43Speaker 2: was going into this like and I create like he
- 13:45Speaker 2: has both both his parents are black, and there's really
- 13:50Speaker 2: outside of that, you know, I didn't really make it
- 13:54Speaker 2: too obvious that he could have been of Caribbean descent
- 13:57Speaker 2: or any other descent. He basically it's like, as you
- 14:01Speaker 2: start reading, like I'm gonna show us particular page here
- 14:07Speaker 2: where he's actually fighting some aliens that are trying to
- 14:10Speaker 2: abduct him, like, you can make the safe assumption that
- 14:13Speaker 2: you know, he's African American. And I felt like it
- 14:15Speaker 2: was important to create him in that category because I
- 14:21Speaker 2: don't know in the community, you know, we have heroes
- 14:25Speaker 2: like Black Panther, we have Static, you know, now Captain
- 14:31Speaker 2: America with Sam Wilson. But I feel the more the merrier,
- 14:36Speaker 2: the more the merrier, especially like coming from the African
- 14:40Speaker 2: American community, the more the merrier. Why not so I
- 14:44Speaker 2: could have made him literally any other ethnicity. But you know,
- 14:48Speaker 2: I feel like it's so rewarding when a parent picks
- 14:54Speaker 2: up a comic book for their child and basically sends
- 14:57Speaker 2: in my DMS, a drawing illustration of a character that
- 15:03Speaker 2: I created. I mean, it's so very rewarding.
- 15:05Speaker 1: You know, see you just she just hit it on
- 15:10Speaker 1: the head. That's why you saw. I'm gonna give it
- 15:11Speaker 1: to you because as a mother, I have a twenty
- 15:16Speaker 1: three year old son and I have an eleven year
- 15:18Speaker 1: old daughter. So y'all know, don't ask why people, Okay,
- 15:23Speaker 1: it was an alcoholic yeah yeah, so. And in the
- 15:29Speaker 1: whole entire time, the only place I've been working, the
- 15:32Speaker 1: only place my kids have ever known me to work,
- 15:34Speaker 1: it's been the library. Okay, Like I told y'all twenty
- 15:36Speaker 1: years actually twenty one this year. When my son was
- 15:40Speaker 1: growing up, he did not have books that had African
- 15:44Speaker 1: American characters. Okay, it was always and I'm not being racist,
- 15:50Speaker 1: but I love I want my kids to be able
- 15:52Speaker 1: to read a character that looks like them. But I
- 15:55Speaker 1: got the guitarme of seeing the little White boy and
- 15:58Speaker 1: the dog, and then sometimes there were some fairy creatures
- 16:03Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But now the whole separate side
- 16:08Speaker 1: of it with my daughter, it is totally different because
- 16:12Speaker 1: this little chick has so many books to choose from,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and I've seen the revolving of children's literature in the
- 16:27Speaker 1: realm of African American children and authors like you. I
- 16:33Speaker 1: thank you for that. I truly do that gives my
- 16:36Speaker 1: kids and those kids who visit the library a chance
- 16:40Speaker 1: to say I can do this, or I can swing that,
- 16:44Speaker 1: or I can do this. I appreciate you, guys, so
- 16:47Speaker 1: that that means so much as a parent and as
- 16:50Speaker 1: somebody who work with these young adults, these teens and
- 16:55Speaker 1: these kids.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So I thank you, thank you, no honestly, thank you
- 16:59Speaker 2: for recognizing that. And the thing is just to expand
- 17:03Speaker 2: and support what you just said. Like back in the day,
- 17:06Speaker 2: I grew up hopeful lot. I'm aging myself when I
- 17:09Speaker 2: say this, but you know, I grew up in the
- 17:11Speaker 2: early two thousands where one of the only well known
- 17:16Speaker 2: one of the early one of the only well known
- 17:19Speaker 2: black superheroes was Static. You know Satic that show Static Shock.
- 17:23Speaker 2: And I saw that show and first off, great show,
- 17:27Speaker 2: Rest in Peace, Dwayne McDuffie, great show, valuable lessons taught
- 17:33Speaker 2: in various episodes. But subconsciously, I feel like that did
- 17:37Speaker 2: something to me subconsciously as a little one. I feel like,
- 17:41Speaker 2: on a subconscious level, I thought, Wow, I could do that.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I could do that one day, I could create, you know,
- 17:46Speaker 2: a badass character that would help inspire and entertain you know,
- 17:53Speaker 2: those to come.
- 17:56Speaker 1: So we talked about the reason. We talked about the
- 18:00Speaker 1: why we've talked about you. Now let's talk about this book. Yes,
- 18:06Speaker 1: you gave us a little bit about it, but tell
- 18:09Speaker 1: us a little bit more. If I had my eleven
- 18:13Speaker 1: year old, No he's not eleven, he's twelve. Oh, I
- 18:18Speaker 1: got one for you. I have a thirteen year old
- 18:21Speaker 1: nephew and an eleven year old nephew, and I bring
- 18:24Speaker 1: them in front of you, and I said, hey, you guys,
- 18:27Speaker 1: he's an author and you have to sell your book.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Did these two big head nephews of mine, how would
- 18:36Speaker 1: you do it?
- 18:39Speaker 2: I would at first ask them this are they so?
- 18:41Speaker 2: Are they a fan of video games? If?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Hey, my sister was fussing with the twelve year old
- 18:49Speaker 1: because he took her card and bought some stuff with
- 18:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, sister.
- 18:55Speaker 2: But that was so the reason why I would ask
- 19:01Speaker 2: them that is because so this design right here, hopefully
- 19:05Speaker 2: you can see it. Yeah, basically, the panel the speech
- 19:11Speaker 2: bubble say how do you like this? I saw this
- 19:14Speaker 2: in a video game he's referring to like his new transformation.
- 19:17Speaker 2: So basically, when he's feeling like really hyper inspired, that
- 19:23Speaker 2: emotion then basically transmutes into his suit and allows him
- 19:28Speaker 2: allows him to like shape or craft what his suit
- 19:32Speaker 2: is going to look like. And basically he follows up
- 19:36Speaker 2: in this speech bubble that says and they say gaming
- 19:38Speaker 2: is just a waste of time, Well, clearly it's not,
- 19:42Speaker 2: because it's helping him.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Whoop the s of the bad guy, you know what
- 19:48Speaker 3: I mean? So, hey, you got one of them. The
- 19:52Speaker 3: eleven year old loves this, but now you got the
- 19:55Speaker 3: year old.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And basically, in that very se that I just described,
- 20:01Speaker 2: Kyu he learned a new skill and or battle move
- 20:07Speaker 2: from like a video game that he played. So basically
- 20:09Speaker 2: he turned this abandoned train into a noonchuk of sorts
- 20:16Speaker 2: and he used that to basically slay the enemy monster.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Okay, okay, I think the thirteen year old might be
- 20:25Speaker 1: coming on. I think he might be coming on. So
- 20:30Speaker 1: how does this book help you? Because a lot of
- 20:34Speaker 1: authors say they write their books because of situations that
- 20:37Speaker 1: they've been through, or they see opening that or something
- 20:45Speaker 1: that has not been a dressed or opening that needs
- 20:47Speaker 1: to be full. How does your book, how does your
- 20:51Speaker 1: book going on? With that?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Okay, so, growing up, as you could probably make like
- 20:58Speaker 2: the assumption growing up, I was a Godzilla disciple. I
- 21:04Speaker 2: still am. I'm a Godzilla disciple. And you know, I
- 21:10Speaker 2: always thought giant monsters, dinosaurs, things of that nature were cool.
- 21:15Speaker 2: But I always wanted to tell a meaningful, entertaining story
- 21:21Speaker 2: that many would remember that also involved a dope intellectual theme.
- 21:28Speaker 2: So here I wanted to incorporate the element of mental
- 21:32Speaker 2: health awareness into this. And how Cairu and like him
- 21:36Speaker 2: in his suit, how basically the relations the relationship between
- 21:40Speaker 2: him and his suit, and how his suit basically adapts
- 21:43Speaker 2: based off of like a feeling that he's feeling at
- 21:47Speaker 2: the moment. And honestly, the kaiju themselves, the monsters that
- 21:53Speaker 2: he faces, they're basically symbolic for different mental health crises
- 21:58Speaker 2: that we counter in real life, you know, like depression
- 22:03Speaker 2: or anxiety, things of that nature.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Wow. Yo, that's awesome, that's awesome, Thank you, you did
- 22:18Speaker 1: you did that. So it's time for those fun questions.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Are you ready for the fun questions?
- 22:28Speaker 2: Bring it, bring it, let's go, y'all.
- 22:32Speaker 1: See he confident job right, So like I told you
- 22:37Speaker 1: to find questions are They usually deal with music, entertainment, music,
- 22:42Speaker 1: mainly music and movies and television. But that's something that
- 22:45Speaker 1: I do, and that's something that I love, and I
- 22:48Speaker 1: use that as a reader's advisory to while I'm at work.
- 22:52Speaker 1: So BT plus they said, you know what, we want
- 22:58Speaker 1: to step into something new, something that's new, upcoming, something
- 23:03Speaker 1: that's groundbreaking, and we want to take your book, your
- 23:06Speaker 1: character and create a little miniseries for for our tweens.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Because you know, that's a that's a you know, a
- 23:17Speaker 1: demographic that doesn't get much attention like it used to
- 23:20Speaker 1: when the Disney Channel days. We're up, so you know
- 23:25Speaker 1: it is going to be a comic. But now we need.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Voice actors, right, yes, what.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Voice actor or what actor would you want to be
- 23:36Speaker 1: the voice of your main character, Charen?
- 23:41Speaker 2: You know what?
- 23:43Speaker 1: Oh hold on? That person has to be a nineties
- 23:54Speaker 1: rap artist.
- 23:58Speaker 2: A nineties rap art. This huh wow, spend you know,
- 24:05Speaker 2: because that's a tricky wow, tricky question because like, ideally
- 24:09Speaker 2: I would have did what they did back in like
- 24:12Speaker 2: old school Charlie Brown and just hire actual kids to
- 24:16Speaker 2: voice my you know, kidd characters.
- 24:18Speaker 1: But okay, so let's okay, so you would you would
- 24:23Speaker 1: hired kids? So let's go, let's spend it. What can actor?
- 24:26Speaker 1: Would you hire.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Any relevant well known character in either Nickelodeon or Disney currently?
- 24:37Speaker 1: Okay, okay, currently? Do they still have like TV shows
- 24:42Speaker 1: on this you guys, I don't have Disney Channel. I
- 24:45Speaker 1: mean she has the Disney.
- 24:48Speaker 2: App Yeah, but I mean, now, I was gonna say
- 24:53Speaker 2: the stars. I have no idea, Like it's been since
- 24:58Speaker 2: I said don.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I take that back. Don't even person I really know
- 25:03Speaker 1: is Reeven.
- 25:04Speaker 2: It's just likes to read his home yep.
- 25:07Speaker 1: And I take that back again, Penny Proud, because I said,
- 25:11Speaker 1: Donny and watched The Proud Family all day, so you
- 25:14Speaker 1: would get a children's Yes. I love the fact that
- 25:21Speaker 1: they had the character. She's always carrying a book, every book.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I was like, boy, you slick, I see that. Okay,
- 25:33Speaker 1: all right, so we.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Had not to cut you off. You know who voice
- 25:38Speaker 2: to play? Like voice wise the kid that we saw
- 25:44Speaker 2: at the end of Black Panther two, it was revealed
- 25:46Speaker 2: that was his son.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, I know exactly who you're talking about.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I know Zachtly. I don't know his name, but I
- 25:55Speaker 1: did I do remember that at the end when he
- 25:59Speaker 1: was sailing his real name and the sister. It was like,
- 26:05Speaker 1: oh my god, this is his child. Okay, okay, we'll
- 26:10Speaker 1: call him Mini to Challa. So BT plus says, you
- 26:16Speaker 1: know what, we love it, okay, but of course it
- 26:22Speaker 1: needs a theme song. Oh what would be the theme
- 26:26Speaker 1: song for your book? Oh?
- 26:31Speaker 2: You know what, So if you're familiar with like the
- 26:36Speaker 2: rapper m F Doom, I would I would take like
- 26:40Speaker 2: like m F Doom type beep and like place it
- 26:43Speaker 2: over like the intro credits for Cayrou like all you need,
- 26:47Speaker 2: Like if you ever heard that song all caps?
- 26:55Speaker 1: I just looked it up and I see m F done.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Said, yeah, rest in peace.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he's passed away in twenty twenty. Yeah, or
- 27:08Speaker 1: simply know bom Okay, okay, all right, So we got
- 27:14Speaker 1: the Nickelodeon and Disney Channel kids in m F dooone
- 27:18Speaker 1: his beat for your theme show song. All right, guess
- 27:22Speaker 1: what b T said? We love it? Okay, cool, we
- 27:28Speaker 1: want to do a little mini documentary because this thing
- 27:30Speaker 1: is just blown up. We love it. It's we got
- 27:34Speaker 1: T shirts, We now got characters were now making money
- 27:37Speaker 1: off this, Okay, so we want to say, we want
- 27:41Speaker 1: to do a background biopic of you. Okay, who would
- 27:45Speaker 1: you give you? Who would you give the honor of
- 27:47Speaker 1: playing you? And why why would you give that person
- 27:51Speaker 1: that honor?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Ah, you know what I was gonna say. This answer
- 27:59Speaker 2: is kind of complicated because like in real life he's
- 28:03Speaker 2: not bald, so he's like so like it kind of
- 28:05Speaker 2: complicates the answer. But Tyler James Williams, I feel like
- 28:11Speaker 2: I feel like that's like my long I feel like
- 28:14Speaker 2: that's my long lost brother. It is, is that the
- 28:19Speaker 2: little dude from everybody?
- 28:21Speaker 1: Everybody? So you have some abbed elementary everybody? Okay, so
- 28:28Speaker 1: why am.
- 28:30Speaker 2: You know what it's? Uh, it's I feel like we
- 28:34Speaker 2: just all have dappel gangers or like you know that
- 28:38Speaker 2: like that one person that's like a celebrity but like
- 28:41Speaker 2: can kind of pass as like a relative, if that
- 28:44Speaker 2: makes sense. Like there's so many honestly, like watching the
- 28:49Speaker 2: Ebbitt Elementary, the way he just looks at the camera
- 28:52Speaker 2: when like some dumb or crazy shit happens, Like I
- 28:55Speaker 2: do that all the time. So like that there's a
- 28:57Speaker 2: relatability factor right there.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Oh so you're the onely putting the people over your
- 29:03Speaker 1: feet because it's written all over your face.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Huh, pretty much to the understand it.
- 29:11Speaker 1: My boss told me that a couple of weeks ago
- 29:14Speaker 1: that when I get frustrated, she said, it's just and
- 29:18Speaker 1: she and it was so funny because at my desk
- 29:21Speaker 1: there's this picture of an hour and the hours just
- 29:24Speaker 1: like this, and she said, I see you every time
- 29:29Speaker 1: somebody frustrates you and get you mad, this is how
- 29:32Speaker 1: you look. Sometime I'll just come through the back door
- 29:35Speaker 1: and the first words to come out of her mouth is,
- 29:38Speaker 1: what done happened? Like you just got that look on you? Yes,
- 29:48Speaker 1: sometimes we don't.
- 29:51Speaker 2: We don't mean for it to always be given away,
- 29:53Speaker 2: but it.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Just kind of happens, you know, listen.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Up on it like you know IG or social media.
- 30:01Speaker 2: You don't mean a look at him, but it just
- 30:03Speaker 2: kind of happened.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Kind it just happened. I know one thing with my mate,
- 30:08Speaker 1: when we look at each other face to face, I
- 30:10Speaker 1: know he would be like this girl got fifty million
- 30:12Speaker 1: facial expressions. But I could tell him she ticked off.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I just can't help it. Even my daughter's like, oh
- 30:18Speaker 1: around with you, fix your face and I'll fix mine.
- 30:22Speaker 1: So I totally understand. But before we leave, you have
- 30:29Speaker 1: just gained all of these new readers with this podcast
- 30:33Speaker 1: and me sharing your information and me those that are
- 30:38Speaker 1: going to watch the replay, what would you like to

- 30:47Speaker 2: So here's a message that can basically be conveyed to current,
- 30:54Speaker 2: future and present read You know, readers that I don't
- 30:58Speaker 2: even know about basic in my new issue. So let
- 31:02Speaker 2: me just count the issues real quickly. I have one
- 31:07Speaker 2: who three for five, I have six in production, and
- 31:15Speaker 2: basically that is the debut of the superhero matra that
- 31:18Speaker 2: I have for Kyu, which goes as follows. Whether I'm up,
- 31:25Speaker 2: down or feeling glue, there's far too much left for
- 31:31Speaker 2: me to do. What keeps me going is doing what's right. Darkness,
- 31:37Speaker 2: beware my unyielding light. Honestly, that is a matra that
- 31:42Speaker 2: basically serves as an affirmation. I say it to myself
- 31:46Speaker 2: at least five times a date, and it pulls me
- 31:49Speaker 2: out of some really stressful scenarios. So start saying that matra.
- 31:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna put it up on a shirt very soon,
- 31:56Speaker 2: and uh yeah, you'll feel a lot better.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Well, That's what I'm talking about. Now we have to
- 32:04Speaker 1: get the rundown. And what the rundown is is you
