- 1:10Speaker 3: This is a podcast called 25 Whistles. Talking football and
- 1:15Speaker 3: they all wear a whistle.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect?
- 1:22Speaker 4: It's a podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:24Speaker 3: 25 Whistles.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Hello.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Lord. Shut up. Blow the whistle. Go ahead.
- 1:33Speaker 3: What do you want to talk about? You just want
- 1:35Speaker 3: to rip the band-aid off and get this over with? Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 4: We suck.
- 1:38Speaker 3: We suck. We suck, dude. The Cowboys suck this year again.
- 1:43Speaker 3: It's so bad.
- 1:44Speaker 1: That can't happen. It can't happen because you can't be
- 1:46Speaker 1: the reason we lose money again.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Oh, I'm not, dude. Forget it. Whatever. The skins thing
- 1:51Speaker 3: is the last thing I'm worried about.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's not going to be when you owe thousands of dollars.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I agree.
- 1:54Speaker 6: True.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I agree with that. That's later on. Right now, after
- 1:58Speaker 3: the first week of the NFL, the only thing I'm
- 2:01Speaker 3: upset with is the Cowboys just were terrible.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I did not expect that to happen last night. I
- 2:07Speaker 1: really felt like, easy, bid in a trip, go up.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Get a dub. Come home.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Take care of biz. And then the one thing, the
- 2:16Speaker 3: one thing that I thought that we improved so much
- 2:20Speaker 3: in the offseason, and everyone talked about it, the pieces
- 2:24Speaker 3: that are put together. They finally figured out their defense. Dude,
- 2:28Speaker 3: the defense looked like they had never played football before.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I mean, they were playing checkers while the New York
- 2:37Speaker 3: offense was playing chess.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Did we all have bad weeks with our own favorite
- 2:41Speaker 4: personal teams? It was awful for all of us, all around,
- 2:43Speaker 4: except for, I guess, Mike would. Ended up great.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Oh, Mike's was good.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Shut up, Mike.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Shut up.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, it was bad. I mean, what did you think?
- 2:52Speaker 3: You watched. What did you think?
- 2:56Speaker 1: I had a whole thing I was going to do
- 2:57Speaker 1: today once the Cowboys won.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Oh, no, you had it planned?
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah, because, first of all, before the game, I put,
- 3:07Speaker 1: a pretty big future on the Cowboys to win the
- 3:08Speaker 1: Super Bowl. If they win the Super Bowl, I'm going
- 3:11Speaker 1: to win $ 13, 000. This is a pretty big future. I thought,
- 3:14Speaker 1: this is the year. Not only that, in our Skins League,
- 3:19Speaker 1: we need them. They're our second overall pick. Eddie's like,
- 3:21Speaker 1: how about them Cowboys? And so I'm in on the
- 3:24Speaker 1: Cowboys in every way. And I was at, I'm just
- 3:27Speaker 1: going to go ahead and pull it up.
- 3:28Speaker 5: I was at this antique store. And they had this.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Oh, you got something in a bag.
- 3:35Speaker 6: What?
- 3:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and I was going to wear it and be like.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Oh!
- 3:40Speaker 4: That is so cool.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Dang, dude.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It's this white cowboy hat with a cowboy star on
- 3:48Speaker 1: the front of it.
- 3:50Speaker 3: You know what, though?
- 3:51Speaker 1: That's all flashy.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Look at that thing shine.
- 3:53Speaker 3: It's glittery, dude.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I look like that mascot. That big dopey one.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Because I look like that person anyway. Rowdy.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Yeah, you do.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Rowdy. So I was going to come on.
- 4:01Speaker 6: Hello, cowboys!
- 4:02Speaker 1: And whatever we say.
- 4:04Speaker 3: How about them cowboys?
- 4:05Speaker 5: And.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I can't wear this hat if they didn't win.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I mean, can... I think you still can.
- 4:11Speaker 1: No, this is only the winning hat.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Maybe you... Okay, so when they win, you put the
- 4:15Speaker 3: hat on, you do the whole show with the hat on?
- 4:17Speaker 1: Or you can do the whole show with the hat on.
- 4:18Speaker 3: No, no, I want you... Dude, I think it's better
- 4:20Speaker 3: if you wear that thing.
- 4:21Speaker 6: Why?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Because if the Cowboys win, which I'm thinking we're not
- 4:24Speaker 3: going to win very much, if we do win, it's
- 4:27Speaker 3: a celebration, and we must celebrate it to the fullest.
- 4:30Speaker 1: But here's the problem with you, is that... One week
- 4:34Speaker 1: does not ruin a season. And last week you thought
- 4:36Speaker 1: you were winning the Super Bowl. And one week has
- 4:38Speaker 1: happened and now you've already quit them fully. You said
- 4:40Speaker 1: we're not going to win very much. Not we're going
- 4:42Speaker 1: to get better. Like you go from such hot and cold.
- 4:45Speaker 3: You're right. There is some work that I have to
- 4:47Speaker 3: do as a Cowboys fan. Like I've already told myself
- 4:50Speaker 3: this morning when I woke up because I don't think
- 4:52Speaker 3: I slept well. I didn't know I didn't sleep well,
- 4:54Speaker 3: but I woke up this morning feeling like somebody had died.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And then I had to remind myself.
- 4:59Speaker 1: It's week one.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I know, but then I woke up and realized, like, oh,
- 5:02Speaker 3: my gosh, I'm still upset about that stupid game.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I understand that. Honestly, I woke up, what was it, Thursday?
- 5:07Speaker 4: It seemed like a long time ago now. After the
- 5:09Speaker 4: Patriots lost on Wednesday, and I'm like, what the heck?
- 5:11Speaker 4: Why am I so sad this morning?
- 5:12Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 3: And then I need to apologize to my kids because
- 5:15Speaker 3: last night I just went upstairs before the game was over.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I said, make sure all this stuff's clean down here.
- 5:20Speaker 3: And they're just like, wow, dad's in a bad mood.
- 5:22Speaker 3: So I have to apologize to them. They did clean
- 5:24Speaker 3: the house very nicely. Because we had chips and cake
- 5:27Speaker 3: and everything out.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Cake?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yeah, little cupcakes. It was week one. My son baked cookies.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Party.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Week one party?
- 5:35Speaker 3: Chips and dips. Dude, we had the whole thing. And
- 5:37Speaker 3: then I walked upstairs and we're like, make sure all
- 5:38Speaker 3: this stuff's clean before the morning. Good night.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I can't believe they lost. And then I can't believe
- 5:44Speaker 1: it was really never that close.
- 5:46Speaker 3: It ended up being a touchdown, but.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It didn't matter. Once he got the penalty for taunting
- 5:52Speaker 1: and then they missed the extra point.
- 5:53Speaker 3: That was stupid.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of things had to happen. Or the
- 5:56Speaker 4: extra point.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Both.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I mean, the taunting.
- 5:58Speaker 1: The taunting was what caused him to move back, and
- 6:01Speaker 1: then Aubrey missed the extra point.
- 6:02Speaker 6: Right.
- 6:03Speaker 4: The taunting was pretty dumb, right?
- 6:05Speaker 3: So dumb.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But that touchdown is what had Kevin beat me in fantasy, though,
- 6:07Speaker 1: once he hit that touchdown.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Oh, he beat you?
- 6:10Speaker 1: He's going to.
- 6:10Speaker 6: No.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that. I haven't looked, because I swear. No, I
- 6:13Speaker 4: was winning the whole day, but that touchdown is what
- 6:15Speaker 4: pulled it up. Now, you're like 80% to 20.
- 6:16Speaker 3: What?
- 6:17Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I haven't even looked today because halfway through yesterday, I
- 6:22Speaker 4: was like, after Jamar Chase did nothing, I was like,
- 6:24Speaker 4: I'm done.
- 6:24Speaker 6: It was over.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Football is too much.
- 6:27Speaker 1: 71-29. What the heck?
- 6:31Speaker 3: That's funny.
- 6:32Speaker 1: The thing is, I'm involved in so much. I don't
- 6:34Speaker 1: even care about fantasy that much.
- 6:35Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. Football is so stupid. I'm upset
- 6:38Speaker 3: about the Cowboys.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm not upset. I'm just saying now, fantasy used to
- 6:40Speaker 1: be the one way to keep you in, but now
- 6:42Speaker 1: that you can bet, fantasy was the way that would
- 6:45Speaker 1: keep you caring about things as much.
- 6:47Speaker 7: Right.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And it's still fun. But, like, I used to, like,
- 6:52Speaker 1: wake up and, like, oh, God, check my line. Like,
- 6:54Speaker 1: I almost forgot.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Also, we have kids and stuff.
- 6:57Speaker 3: And that's the thing. Like, my fantasy, I'm in two teams.
- 6:59Speaker 3: I won both. And, like, I did really well in fantasy,
- 7:02Speaker 3: but I don't care because I lost bets, stupid Skins League,
- 7:06Speaker 3: and the Cowboys lost.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Wait, reminder on the Skins League. I was trying to
- 7:09Speaker 4: think of it yesterday.
- 7:09Speaker 1: We're up $ 400 after the first week.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Okay, there we go. Not we.
- 7:12Speaker 1: There you go. You chose to get out.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Did I say we? Yeah, you said we.
- 7:16Speaker 6: You're not in it.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I meant, there you go. That's better, right? The Ravens
- 7:20Speaker 4: to win, Colts to lose, which they played each other,
- 7:23Speaker 4: and obviously it worked out perfectly.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Jacksonville to win.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Jacksonville to win.
- 7:26Speaker 1: The Browns to lose. They played each other.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Perfect. So the only one that really ruined it was?
- 7:31Speaker 1: Well, Pittsburgh won because they beat Atlanta's third-string quarterback. But yeah,
- 7:36Speaker 1: if the Cowboys would have won, it would have been awesome.
- 7:38Speaker 4: But you're up.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, we're up.
- 7:40Speaker 6: That would have been great.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I thought I saw Jay Cutler at the grocery store.
- 7:43Speaker 6: No, no, no.
- 7:44Speaker 3: I saw Jay Cutler at the grocery store. um it's
- 7:47Speaker 3: funny because i walked in the grocery store and i
- 7:49Speaker 3: see a guy who's kind of tall and i'm like
- 7:50Speaker 3: oh my gosh that looks like brett eldridge you know
- 7:52Speaker 3: brett eldridge country singer tall kind of like good hair
- 7:55Speaker 3: i get closer that's not brett eldridge that's jay freaking
- 7:58Speaker 3: cutler shopping by himself at the grocery store dude still
- 8:03Speaker 3: looks good in shape i mean he looks like he's
- 8:06Speaker 3: 27 the dude does not look really old.
- 8:09Speaker 4: At all you didn't say anything no did you want
- 8:12Speaker 4: to I mean.
- 8:13Speaker 1: What would you have said? Let's go back in time.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Jay, what up, dude? Just give him a high five
- 8:17Speaker 3: and move on.
- 8:18Speaker 4: High five?
- 8:19Speaker 1: A high five?
- 8:20Speaker 3: You know, like, Jay, what's up, dude? Good to see you, man.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I saw the Bustin' with the Boys. Talked to them
- 8:26Speaker 1: for a little bit.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Really?
- 8:27Speaker 1: This weekend?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Where'd you see them?
- 8:28Speaker 1: We were flying out Friday at the airport. Going to
- 8:31Speaker 1: Mountain Pine. They were going to do some ESPN stuff.
- 8:35Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 8:35Speaker 1: They were there.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I was there.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I walked in. And I don't know who saw who,
- 8:39Speaker 1: but we just started talking. And I was like, man,
- 8:42Speaker 1: congratulations on everything. And then one of them was like,
- 8:44Speaker 1: we need a collab. And I was like, probably not,
- 8:46Speaker 1: but I'm rooting for you guys. And they got a
- 8:47Speaker 1: laugh and walked on.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not me and Jay Cutler's thing.
- 8:52Speaker 5: Oh.
- 8:53Speaker 3: He didn't even see me.
- 8:55Speaker 4: We need the collab, Jay.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Hey.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Aisle 9.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Did you tell, who is it? Is it Luan?
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 3: About the.
- 9:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Did you tell him then? Yeah. What did he say?
- 9:03Speaker 1: He was like, that's funny.
- 9:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Wait.
- 9:05Speaker 1: He's massive.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Missed something?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, they gave me his car accidentally.
- 9:08Speaker 6: What?
- 9:09Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Really?
- 9:10Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I drove it off, and then it was a valet,
- 9:12Speaker 1: and then I was like, this isn't my car. It
- 9:14Speaker 1: was a rental that I had.
- 9:16Speaker 6: Oh.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And so I wasn't super familiar with it anyway, but
- 9:19Speaker 1: I valeted a rental, and I got in, they gave
- 9:21Speaker 1: me the car, and I realized it was Taylor LeJuan's,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and I drove it back. I was like, they were like, oh, sorry,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and they gave me the, Same car. Same kind of car.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Isn't that funny, Kevin?
- 9:28Speaker 4: What the heck? Was the seat all the way back? Oh,
- 9:31Speaker 4: I guess it's a valet driver driving it.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yeah, probably.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Never mind. Because Luan's super tall. That's what you just said, too, right?
- 9:35Speaker 6: Mike, right?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like 6'7.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I didn't know he'd be that tall.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Wow. He's in boots and a hat.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Huge.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Talked to him for a little bit.
- 9:43Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 9:43Speaker 1: We're both on our way. Wasn't Jay Cutler.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Jay Cutler.
- 9:48Speaker 6: Dang.
- 9:48Speaker 4: You should ask Jay, because he lives here.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Right?
- 9:51Speaker 3: What would you ask him?
- 9:53Speaker 4: Well, the first thing that comes to my mind every
- 9:54Speaker 4: time I see somebody out maybe is like, I wonder
- 9:57Speaker 4: if they'd come on the podcast.
- 9:58Speaker 1: That'd have been interesting.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Literally the first time. thing that always pops up.
- 10:00Speaker 1: That'd have been a nice thing to do as a
- 10:02Speaker 1: member of this show.
- 10:03Speaker 3: You think that somebody at a grocery store would want
- 10:06Speaker 3: to get pitched to get on a podcast?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Well, where else are you going to pitch them? Email.
- 10:10Speaker 1: How are you going to email them?
- 10:12Speaker 3: Jcutler at AOL.com. Exactly.
- 10:15Speaker 4: We don't have an answer.
- 10:18Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 10:18Speaker 3: I just feel like the grocery store is not the place.
- 10:20Speaker 2: To do that.
- 10:20Speaker 4: Hey, J-O, you like that rice? Me too. Do you
- 10:22Speaker 4: like doing podcasts? Me too.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You know they're selling the Bunny Ranch?
- 10:28Speaker 3: No way.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Unless you're going to use it for that, kind of
- 10:31Speaker 4: a weird place to have. You can't really have a
- 10:34Speaker 4: bank there.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Where is it? Is it in between Vegas and Reno
- 10:37Speaker 3: or something that's kind of.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I think it's right outside of Carson City, which is
- 10:41Speaker 1: the capital.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Okay.
- 10:43Speaker 3: It's always, every time I've seen any kind of pictures
- 10:45Speaker 3: of it, it just seems like it's in the middle
- 10:47Speaker 3: of nowhere. The middle of the desert.
- 10:48Speaker 1: The Moonlight Bunny Ranch Legacy Portfolio is now available for purchase,
- 10:52Speaker 1: assuming someone has $ 34 million to make the deal.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Wow.
- 10:55Speaker 1: The property is being sold by the estate of Dennis Hoff.
- 10:58Speaker 1: He was the guy that was the guy, right?
- 11:00Speaker 3: He's the owner.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 1: It includes three infamous cat houses and a sprawling footprint
- 11:05Speaker 1: of desert real estate located just outside of Carson City,
- 11:09Speaker 1: along with warehouses, residential property, storage facilities, and developmental parcels.
- 11:12Speaker 5: Jeez.
- 11:12Speaker 6: Yeah. Wow.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Is that where Lamar Odom was?
- 11:15Speaker 1: New York Post.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I believe so, yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Dang.
- 11:18Speaker 1: That's just a weird property to have if you're not
- 11:21Speaker 1: using it for, or you almost have to melt it completely.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 1: You can't just like change the paintings inside one of
- 11:28Speaker 1: the cat houses and be like, this is now where
- 11:32Speaker 1: we have meetings.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Office space.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 4: And there's not enough sage that you can have.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Throughout the house to get rid of those demons.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Oh my God.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So, Eddie, bad run with the Cowboys.
- 11:42Speaker 3: That's terrible.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I brought the hat and everything.
- 11:45Speaker 3: It is week one. You know, I mean, it is
- 11:47Speaker 3: week one.
- 11:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 1: It's only week one. Who do they play next week?
- 11:51Speaker 3: Will they play the Commanders at home?
- 11:52Speaker 5: Okay.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Commanders didn't look bad either. You know, they played well
- 11:56Speaker 3: against the Eagles. So, I don't know, dude. We'll see.
- 11:59Speaker 3: We'll play by ear. I'm not happy. I'm just not
- 12:03Speaker 3: happy with what I saw. I'm not happy because that's
- 12:06Speaker 3: just not what I expected to see week one.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Mike, you're a Cowboys fan.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I think we'll be fine.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Eddie's overreacting.
- 12:12Speaker 4: It's one game.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Maybe the Giants are good. Maybe the Giants are good.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Maybe. Maybe the Giants are good, but dude.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Man, they just kept running the ball. It was time
- 12:19Speaker 1: of possession like crazy. Scatterbow just run, run, run.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I was telling Kevin, the Giants ran the whole third quarter.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 3: With one drive.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah, the Cowboys had one drive and a touchdown, but
- 12:29Speaker 1: they had like four minutes of possession, and the Giants
- 12:31Speaker 1: had like 13.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Yeah, crazy, man.
- 12:33Speaker 4: That's so worse as a fan.
- 12:34Speaker 1: They were like Dax Ancy. We don't normally see him Ancy,
- 12:37Speaker 1: and then maybe it was Collinsworth who goes, yeah, well,
- 12:39Speaker 1: he hadn't been on the field, but for one drive,
- 12:41Speaker 1: I'd be Ancy too. Mike, you want to do your
- 12:45Speaker 1: Texas game? Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 7: I went from wanting to throw up to wanting to
- 12:48Speaker 7: run down the street naked.
- 12:49Speaker 3: What a game.
- 12:50Speaker 1: What a game. So that game started and Ohio State
- 12:54Speaker 1: was just whooping the crap out of them. And so
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm at Brooks and Dunn. I'm watching that game on
- 12:57Speaker 1: my phone. And I don't like Ohio State. I don't
- 13:01Speaker 1: like the Big Ten. I hate Texas. I like Arch Manning.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I got a lot of conflicting thoughts and emotions. And
- 13:06Speaker 1: the game's over. So the Arkansas game was starting. So
- 13:08Speaker 1: I flipped it over to the Arkansas game. And They
- 13:12Speaker 1: went to commercial, and I just flipped it back to
- 13:13Speaker 1: Texas like 15 minutes later or whatever. And Texas had
- 13:16Speaker 1: made it again. Like, what just happened? I missed all
- 13:20Speaker 1: of that. I saw the end of it.
- 13:21Speaker 7: I mean, starting with the two turnovers, the fumble, the
- 13:24Speaker 7: crazy interception. It was like, what is happening in this game?
- 13:27Speaker 3: It was all in the fourth quarter.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I missed all of that. And so, big win.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 13:33Speaker 7: I think my biggest takeaway is that Sark's not here
- 13:35Speaker 7: to F around this season. Like, he was ballsy going
- 13:37Speaker 7: for it on fourth down. And then even at the
- 13:40Speaker 7: end where he refused to do the interview, I think
- 13:42Speaker 7: he's all in this season.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Did they miss a field goal, Ohio State?
- 13:46Speaker 4: Yeah, at the end.
- 13:47Speaker 1: To make it two possessions?
- 13:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Okay, I saw that. That's when I started watching the
- 13:51Speaker 1: game again. Because if they had hit that... It would
- 13:53Speaker 1: have been done.
- 13:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Yeah, the fourth down to Mike's point, too. Every time
- 13:57Speaker 4: they went for it, it was like, oh, here we go.
- 13:58Speaker 4: And there was like five of them. Like in our
- 14:00Speaker 4: own territory going for it on fourth down.
- 14:02Speaker 6: It was crazy.
- 14:03Speaker 1: If you were an Oklahoma fan, which my family is,
- 14:06Speaker 1: it was a miserable day for you for multiple reasons.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Number one was that they lost to Michigan.
- 14:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Which is crazy. I did not see that coming. But
- 14:14Speaker 1: they lost 17-10 to Michigan.
- 14:16Speaker 3: No cheating. Barron Square.
- 14:18Speaker 1: All the time. Was allotted for.
- 14:19Speaker 7: As of now.
- 14:21Speaker 3: As of now.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So didn't expect that, but that's a bad loss for them.
- 14:25Speaker 1: But then Oklahoma State beats Oregon.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 14:29Speaker 1: And when they lose and Oklahoma State wins a big game,
- 14:31Speaker 1: that makes the day even more miserable.
- 14:33Speaker 3: And Oregon had a chance to win that game, right?
- 14:35Speaker 3: At the end.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I mean, multiple. Well, they lost by eight. But Oklahoma
- 14:40Speaker 4: State was pretty much manhandling them all game. They really were. Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And they had like a 21-game losing streak.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Yeah, against FBS teams.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 6: Yep.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Crazy.
- 14:53Speaker 1: That's the craziest game of the weekend.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I mean, you don't think Texas was kind of crazy?
- 14:58Speaker 3: Craziest game of the weekend?
- 14:59Speaker 1: No, because they were, I think they were the favorite.
- 15:02Speaker 3: They were the favorite.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I mean, mid-game, that game got crazy because of a comeback.
- 15:07Speaker 1: But just the result, that's the craziest.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Sure.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Like, they hadn't won in two seasons, basically.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and 24-point underdogs. But that kid from North Texas,
- 15:16Speaker 4: which is Mestemaker, that quarterback, he's pretty dang good.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he looked really good the week before he didn't.
- 15:22Speaker 4: That's what's crazy.
- 15:23Speaker 1: That's what's crazy. And we'll talk to John Talti coming
- 15:26Speaker 1: up in a little bit and go through a bunch
- 15:27Speaker 1: of football, a bunch of SEC stuff. So, if you're
- 15:30Speaker 1: an Oklahoma fan, you lost to Michigan. Which sucks. Oklahoma
- 15:33Speaker 1: State beats Oregon. That sucks. Texas ends up winning. That
- 15:35Speaker 1: sucks because that's everything that you hate.
- 15:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Dang.
- 15:39Speaker 4: They're not the worst weekends.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Yeah, when everything goes wrong.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yeah, your team loses and all the teams you hate win.
- 15:45Speaker 3: And then Oklahoma people, don't they like the Cowboys too?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Eh, do some.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Sure.
- 15:49Speaker 3: But they're not. Neighboring state.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Okay, but.
- 15:51Speaker 3: That probably was terrible icing on the cake.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I don't think that's a general rule for Oklahoma. Like Arkansas,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you could say that's a pretty general rule, but not
- 15:58Speaker 1: Oklahoma really.
- 15:59Speaker 3: All right.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I did not hit a single bet.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Really?
- 16:04Speaker 1: I made eight or nine bets and missed every bet.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Dang, guys. That's terrible. Everything's red. I hate that, dude.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I didn't hit a single bet.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Were any of them close, at least?
- 16:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Do you go back? Do you do parlays?
- 16:19Speaker 1: I did our parlay.
- 16:20Speaker 5: Okay.
- 16:20Speaker 1: And that one was two wins and a loss.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 3: You know which one lost?
- 16:25Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 16:25Speaker 1: The Oklahoma-Michigan one.
- 16:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Dude, I had a... an NFL parlay. I had multiple
- 16:32Speaker 3: parlays that were one away. And I told you guys
- 16:34Speaker 3: last week, new, new year, new me. I'm going to
- 16:37Speaker 3: cash out. I didn't cash out. And I was one
- 16:39Speaker 3: away and I missed them all. One big one was
- 16:42Speaker 3: a seven touchdown parlay from all the NFL running backs.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Like I did Jameer Gibbs. I did Swift. I did
- 16:50Speaker 3: Derrick Henry. I had all the running backs except James Cook.
- 16:55Speaker 3: He was the only one. I'm like, Oh, for sure.
- 16:57Speaker 3: And they offered me like, it was, I think the
- 16:59Speaker 3: payout was $ 180, and it was a $ 2 bet, and
- 17:03Speaker 3: they offered me like $ 40. Didn't take it.
- 17:05Speaker 4: That was a shootout, too, that game.
- 17:08Speaker 7: It was.
- 17:09Speaker 3: That was fun.
- 17:09Speaker 1: NFL was fun yesterday.
- 17:10Speaker 4: It really was.
- 17:11Speaker 1: The first run, the second run of games was like
- 17:14Speaker 1: three games, and who cared?
- 17:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 3: The 3 o'clock ones?
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah. It was like a bad 3 o'clock match, but
- 17:20Speaker 1: they had a bunch of games leading up to it
- 17:21Speaker 1: because they had a big game on Wednesday, a big
- 17:23Speaker 1: game on Thursday.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 17:24Speaker 1: There's a big game on Monday. So they crammed that
- 17:27Speaker 1: noon slate for Central Time Zone. That was a really
- 17:29Speaker 1: good bet. Three o'clock, and we end up going to
- 17:31Speaker 1: the store.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, but I mean, the Packers and the
- 17:36Speaker 3: Vikings ended up being a pretty good game. The Vikings
- 17:38Speaker 3: came back and won it.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but he gets hurt.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Like, first play.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Kyler Murray.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he got a freaking concussion first play.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Or first series.
- 17:44Speaker 3: So how did he go from, did you guys see
- 17:46Speaker 3: the injury? Like, how did he go from grabbing his
- 17:48Speaker 3: knee to concussion? Concussion.
- 17:50Speaker 4: I think he was like knocked out.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Oh, so he just didn't know.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Maybe he was like so knocked out he didn't know
- 17:54Speaker 1: what to grab.
- 17:54Speaker 3: That's what I thought.
- 17:55Speaker 7: It was like he hit the fencing pose a little bit.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Oh, is that what it was?
- 17:58Speaker 4: It kind of looked like that.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 4: It was bad.
- 18:00Speaker 1: The wait is over. Football is here. So is DraftKings.
- 18:03Speaker 1: DraftKings is now live in all 50 states. One app
- 18:05Speaker 1: every sport nationwide. So last week, Ohio State to lose
- 18:09Speaker 1: by less than two at Texas. And that was a
- 18:12Speaker 1: win for us because Ohio State only lost by one.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Alabama to win at Kentucky. Alabama pulled away. That game
- 18:17Speaker 1: was closer than I thought it was going to be
- 18:19Speaker 1: for a while.
- 18:19Speaker 3: It was early on.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Yeah, the first half was good.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Yeah, for a minute I thought, oh, maybe Kentucky's good. Or, oh,
- 18:25Speaker 1: maybe Alabama does suck. And then ran away. And then, yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 1: lost the Oklahoma-Michigan game. So it wasn't my best.
- 18:35Speaker 4: It was almost there.

- 19:41Speaker 1: The Arkansas football game started at 9.20, which itself was
- 19:45Speaker 1: so late. I was at the Brooks and Dunn concert,
- 19:47Speaker 1: and I had it on my phone. I was watching it.
- 19:49Speaker 1: and I went up 3-0 I thought we may be
- 19:53Speaker 1: surprising big 12ers so baby Utah runs such a cool
- 19:56Speaker 1: offense because they have two quarterbacks out there and one
- 19:59Speaker 1: of the quarterbacks is basically a quarterback and can also
- 20:02Speaker 1: like catch the ball one's like a quarterback who runs
- 20:04Speaker 1: the ball and they move those guys around they throw
- 20:06Speaker 1: it's a really cool offense uh I mean, they just
- 20:10Speaker 1: don't want this.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Was it that bad? I didn't see any of it.
- 20:13Speaker 6: I just saw the score.
- 20:15Speaker 1: We went up 3-0, and they scored, and then they scored,
- 20:17Speaker 1: and then they scored, and they scored, and they scored.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Let me see if you remember. And then they scored.
- 20:22Speaker 1: We were terrible. We were terrible.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Was it turnovers or just like?
- 20:26Speaker 1: We threw a really bad interception on a screen pass,
- 20:29Speaker 1: which you rarely see.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 4: That's frustrating.
- 20:32Speaker 1: We're just not good. And I don't even blame our
- 20:35Speaker 1: coaching staff this year. Because when they were hired, they
- 20:39Speaker 1: came in, there's like a third of the portal season left.
- 20:42Speaker 1: It's not like he had a year to raise money,
- 20:45Speaker 1: which is what this is all about. But we've been
- 20:48Speaker 1: bad for a while. I blame our athletic director. We've
- 20:51Speaker 1: been bad for a long time. So it's terrible. I'm
- 20:55Speaker 1: not used to being the worst, though. Like, we've had
- 20:57Speaker 1: bad years, but there's always been Kentucky behind us, Vanderbilt
- 20:59Speaker 1: behind us, Mississippi State behind us. Usually we'd be fourth
- 21:01Speaker 1: or fifth. I'm not used to being the worst.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Yeah, no.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Is there any? Hmm. Anybody worse?
- 21:08Speaker 1: No, no, we're the worst.
- 21:09Speaker 3: No, right now, no.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Because even Mississippi State, they have that quarterback, too. They
- 21:12Speaker 4: put it on Minnesota.
- 21:13Speaker 1: No, we're the worst.
- 21:14Speaker 3: We're the worst. But here's the deal with Vanderbilt. I
- 21:15Speaker 3: don't know if Vanderbilt's good or not.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I don't think they're good.
- 21:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I think they're mid to low, but I think they're
- 21:21Speaker 1: still better than us.
- 21:22Speaker 6: Okay.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Because they haven't played anyone good yet, and they are
- 21:26Speaker 3: barely beating the bad teams.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So, we'll see. I'm going to show you guys something.
- 21:30Speaker 3: You got another hat?
- 21:31Speaker 6: No.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Patriots? We can clip this for the internet if we want, but.
- 21:37Speaker 1: The last few Razorback football coaches will send me a
- 21:40Speaker 1: signed ball, and probably just because I donate, because I'll get, like,
- 21:45Speaker 1: the gear and stuff. And it's like, you're a part
- 21:47Speaker 1: of this donation group. And, like, when Pittman, hey, Bobby, hey,
- 21:52Speaker 1: thanks for being a Hog fan, Sam Pittman, and whatever
- 21:54Speaker 1: their little saying is. Bielema, same thing. So I got
- 21:58Speaker 1: this one in the mail from Silverfield. But it looks
- 22:02Speaker 1: like I just got one of the 10,000 that was
- 22:04Speaker 1: signed in a row.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Uh-huh.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Like it was all they were all put on a table.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Yeah yeah there's no hey bobby on there like.
- 22:11Speaker 4: It's still in the box and everything too it's.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Just hey there's no hey bobby there's no no no
- 22:16Speaker 1: message just write hey bobby on there make me feel
- 22:18Speaker 1: special yeah they just put them on a cafeteria table
- 22:22Speaker 1: and all they did was sign a hundred of them
- 22:23Speaker 1: and it's package one up send it to me yeah
- 22:25Speaker 1: yeah and there are bigger problems in the world i
- 22:27Speaker 1: get it but when all the other coaches write hey
- 22:29Speaker 1: bobby i like hey bobby.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Sorry, man.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Looks like he just signed his generic balls. Let's just
- 22:36Speaker 1: send him one of the generic ones.
- 22:38Speaker 3: There's no Hey Bobby.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Look at this ball. Where do you see Hey Bobby?
- 22:41Speaker 3: No, I don't see Hey Bobby.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Nope.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Just a hog and a name.
- 22:45Speaker 1: How am I supposed to do this? I can't show
- 22:47Speaker 1: this off in my house because someone will come over
- 22:48Speaker 1: and be like, oh, you guys still were able to
- 22:50Speaker 1: sign a ball? Man, I bet he signed that just
- 22:52Speaker 1: for you. Hey, I don't, where's the, oh, that's awkward.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Where's the Hey Bobby?
- 22:56Speaker 3: They probably assume that you just bought it on eBay.
- 22:58Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Great point.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Or signed it myself.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Yeah, that too.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I get it. It's petty. There's no Hey Bobby.
- 23:06Speaker 3: What does it say on the bottom there under the signature?
- 23:08Speaker 1: The saying is all in.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Okay. That's what it says on the shirts and stuff.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Yeah. So do I write Hey Bobby on it?
- 23:14Speaker 3: It's not the same thing, man.
- 23:16Speaker 1: It's not the same.
- 23:17Speaker 4: I wonder how many people have that same one. What
- 23:20Speaker 4: if someone else got one that said Hey Bobby? Oh, no.
- 23:22Speaker 1: They sent me the wrong one.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Well, then at least you know it's out there.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I bet you then that didn't happen.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:27Speaker 1: All I wanted was a Hey Bobby or two Bobby.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Eddie can write it.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Or two... America's biggest hog fan, Bobby.
- 23:39Speaker 7: Oh, whoa.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Just threw it, man.
- 23:40Speaker 4: So what are you going to do with that now?
- 23:42Speaker 4: We're not detail-oriented.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I'll probably write Hey Bobby on it.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Do it yourself?
- 23:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:50Speaker 3: That way you can avoid all those awkward conversations you
- 23:52Speaker 3: were talking about.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'll do it right now.
- 23:56Speaker 3: You know what?
- 23:56Speaker 4: You're going to fix it?
- 23:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 3: We're going to make this right.
- 24:01Speaker 1: I got a Sharpie right here.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Here, hold it up. Hold it up. I want to see.
- 24:04Speaker 3: I want to see.
- 24:05Speaker 1: There you go. It's hard for me to.
- 24:06Speaker 4: You want me to hold it while you sign it?
- 24:07Speaker 3: There you go.
- 24:07Speaker 6: Here we go.
- 24:08Speaker 3: There you go.
- 24:09Speaker 5: To Bobby, number one hog fan, thanks for loving the hog.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I'm going to be out of room.
- 24:38Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Amazing.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Woo pig.
- 24:48Speaker 3: There you go.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Wait, he wrote all that?
- 24:51Speaker 1: I got it in the mail. I was pretty excited
- 24:53Speaker 1: to have it personalized.
- 24:54Speaker 6: Nice.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Wow, coach. That's really nice of him.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Attention to detail.
- 24:57Speaker 6: Wow.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I got a good feeling about our program because we
- 25:00Speaker 1: are so detail oriented.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Wow.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Look at that.
- 25:03Speaker 4: That's nice of him.
- 25:04Speaker 3: That is cool. Where are you going to put that?
- 25:07Speaker 1: On my butt.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Oh, you just threw it on the couch. Dude, what the?
- 25:11Speaker 1: But it said, hey, Bobby, on it. No, don't put
- 25:15Speaker 1: it on camera. You can't catch it on camera.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Oh, I can move the camera to it.
- 25:19Speaker 1: You can. I don't care.
- 25:20Speaker 4: It's sitting by itself over there now.
- 25:21Speaker 3: It's all lonely over there by Kevin.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah, so that happened.
- 25:25Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Clip that. I'll put that up.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll clip it.
- 25:30Speaker 1: On social media.
- 25:31Speaker 5: NFL.
- 25:32Speaker 3: NFL.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Game of the day was probably Buffalo and the Texans.
- 25:35Speaker 1: That was an awesome game.
- 25:35Speaker 3: That was a good one.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 1: That was an awesome game.
- 25:38Speaker 3: The Bears and the Panthers were pretty good. Wait, was
- 25:41Speaker 3: it the Panthers?
- 25:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 1: That was a good game. Then the Bears just kept scoring.
- 25:44Speaker 1: They just kept scoring. The Bears are probably going to
- 25:48Speaker 1: be pretty good. The Panthers might actually be pretty good too.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I think Baltimore is going to be really good.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Yeah, man. When does Derrick Henry slow down? Exactly. I
- 25:57Speaker 4: don't understand it.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Did he have three touchdowns?
- 25:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Lamar looked good. Yeah, they look really good.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Zay Flowers got hurt. Yeah.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Yeah, and he was doing really good.
- 26:07Speaker 3: He was doing really well. Hopefully it's nothing big.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Whenever a team plays a bad team, though, like the
- 26:11Speaker 1: Jaguars beat the Browns really bad, but the Browns were
- 26:15Speaker 1: so bad.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Dude, you want to know what? When we were watching
- 26:19Speaker 3: the game, like I don't know what got into me,
- 26:21Speaker 3: but like they were rushing Deshaun, and I was like,
- 26:24Speaker 3: kill him. And my kids are like, whoa, dad, whoa, whoa.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Why do you not like that guy so much? I'm like,
- 26:30Speaker 3: he's not a good guy, boys. He's not a good dude.
- 26:32Speaker 3: And they're like, why? And I'm like, we're not going
- 26:34Speaker 3: to get into this right now, boys. Like, I didn't
- 26:35Speaker 3: want to have the whole conversation.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Oh, they don't know?
- 26:37Speaker 3: But I do owe them a reason why I wasn't
- 26:42Speaker 3: rooting for Deshaun or I wanted him dead.
- 26:44Speaker 5: Oh.
- 26:45Speaker 3: On the field. I wanted him crushed on the field.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Good correction.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 1: I feel bad for Browns fans. It's not their fault.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It's not their fault. Their organization sucks. Remains sucky. And
- 26:56Speaker 1: that they bring in terrible people.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy, dude. It's hard. That's crazy just to
- 27:00Speaker 3: see them out there.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It's crazy to see Browns fans still there.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Support them.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but that was a road game for them, wasn't it?
- 27:08Speaker 4: Yeah, but I did see some in the stands.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I felt bad for Browns fans because they didn't do
- 27:13Speaker 1: anything to deserve this. It was like for a while
- 27:14Speaker 1: I felt bad for Penn State fans.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Yeah, during all that?
- 27:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Like they didn't do anything.
- 27:19Speaker 4: At least Penn State won back then.
- 27:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Yeah, true. Titans suck again. We suck again.
- 27:30Speaker 4: They're so bad.
- 27:30Speaker 3: They're so bad.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Somebody was giving away free tickets in my neighborhood.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Like before the game?
- 27:35Speaker 4: Before the game, yeah.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Oh, that's not fair. Because, I mean, I thought they could...
- 27:39Speaker 3: I mean, you know, it's before the game. They could
- 27:41Speaker 3: be good. They're playing the Jets.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Before the first game?
- 27:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 3: They're playing the Jets. They could win.
- 27:45Speaker 4: They could win, yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I would understand after. We're like, take my whole season tickets.
- 27:48Speaker 5: All of them.
- 27:49Speaker 3: All my season tickets.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Bengals look pretty good against the Bucs.
- 27:51Speaker 4: They did. And Jamar didn't do anything, and they still
- 27:54Speaker 4: look really good.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I thought... I mean, the Lions-Saints game ended up being
- 27:57Speaker 1: really good.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Did you see the fumble recovery that was controversial where
- 28:03Speaker 4: Jared Goff got sacked? It was in the first quarter,
- 28:05Speaker 4: I believe.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, the throw-in hand motion?
- 28:08Speaker 4: Yeah, but the ball, when he let go, the ball
- 28:10Speaker 4: went behind him. And they said his intention was to
- 28:13Speaker 4: throw it forward, so it was an incomplete pass because
- 28:16Speaker 4: of his intention.
- 28:17Speaker 3: So the explanation was that once you put your hand
- 28:20Speaker 3: up in the, like, Like it looks like you're putting
- 28:22Speaker 3: your hand up to throw the ball. It doesn't matter
- 28:24Speaker 3: if it's moving forward or not. That's what Mike Piero
- 28:26Speaker 3: was saying is that you already have the intention of
- 28:29Speaker 3: throwing the ball. Therefore, it's an incomplete pass.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Well, it's always your hand moves forward. It's always been that.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Not the way they explained it this time.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I never heard this one before.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Giants beat the Cowboys 28-20. They did?
- 28:38Speaker 3: We already talked about that.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Cardinals beat the Chargers. That was a good one.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Hey, I'm telling you, dude.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Those Cardinals. I'd like to see that. Yeah, but your
- 28:47Speaker 1: quarterback's not getting in.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Jacoby Brissett, I think, has got the job.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 3: But Jeremiah Love scores right away.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah, right away.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Right away. Pretty cool. Good for him.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Okay. Well, we had sports.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Dude, you know what I thought watching all of week
- 29:03Speaker 3: one was, man, the defenses in the NFL have just
- 29:07Speaker 3: gotten so much more aggressive. Like, they hit so harder
- 29:11Speaker 3: than I think I've ever, ever seen. Like, every draw,
- 29:15Speaker 3: every possession, every snap– They play so freaking hard that
- 29:19Speaker 3: it's the hardest I've ever seen them play. I'm just
- 29:22Speaker 3: surprised running backs get up after a hit.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Yeah, there's some hard ones. I also say it's week one.
- 29:26Speaker 4: They're all fresh and feeling good.
- 29:28Speaker 3: That could be it, too.
- 29:29Speaker 4: But I hear you.
- 29:31Speaker 1: You want to go to John Talti?
- 29:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Want to take a break, Mike, or go right to him?
- 29:36Speaker 3: Take a break.
- 29:36Speaker 1: All right, take a break. We'll talk college football with
- 29:38Speaker 1: John Talti coming up. The wait is over. Football is here.

- 30:52Speaker 1: Hey, we're going to bring on John Talti, National College
- 30:54Speaker 1: Sports Writer for CBS Sports. And his book is coming
- 30:56Speaker 1: out this week. Lane being lane. Have you done so
- 31:00Speaker 1: much promotion? John, is it just like exhausting now?
- 31:02Speaker 6: You know, there's a, you have to do what you
- 31:04Speaker 6: have to do. You, you know how it works, Bobby. Uh,
- 31:06Speaker 6: but I enjoy it. I mean, you get a chance to,
- 31:08Speaker 6: to sell people hopefully on something that you put a
- 31:10Speaker 6: lot of energy into. So, um, I, I enjoy it
- 31:13Speaker 6: as best I can. I'm sure by the end of
- 31:15Speaker 6: the week, I'll be exhausted, but, um, it's, it's fun.
- 31:18Speaker 6: And especially when you get to talk to people that
- 31:19Speaker 6: you liked and that makes it even more fun.
- 31:21Speaker 1: This is it. This is a big week though. This
- 31:22Speaker 1: is where he comes out finally. Like, so will you look,
- 31:25Speaker 1: cause it's not different than a song. Cause I have
- 31:27Speaker 1: friends that have put out songs and they get to
- 31:29Speaker 1: know immediately cause it's three minutes and But I've put
- 31:31Speaker 1: out books and it takes forever because like you want
- 31:34Speaker 1: people to give you feedback, but it takes like a
- 31:36Speaker 1: long time to read a book. It does.
- 31:37Speaker 6: And it's harder than ever. Right. I think people like,
- 31:39Speaker 6: you know, I've heard from people already like, hey, like,
- 31:42Speaker 6: is there an audio book? I just kind of want
- 31:43Speaker 6: to listen to it when I drive. I don't really
- 31:44Speaker 6: have time to read books. So so that's hard. You
- 31:47Speaker 6: do want that kind of immediate feedback. But it's also
- 31:51Speaker 6: just like. You go into these things and you have
- 31:55Speaker 6: all these things that you want out of it. It's like,
- 31:57Speaker 6: do I care most about sales? Do I care about
- 31:59Speaker 6: critical acclaim? Do I just want people in my life
- 32:02Speaker 6: to like it? There's all these different things and it's
- 32:05Speaker 6: pretty anxiety-inducing. I don't know. I think it is like
- 32:07Speaker 6: a song, but also just so much that goes into
- 32:10Speaker 6: writing a book and you have to just put it
- 32:13Speaker 6: out there to the world and just so people don't
- 32:15Speaker 6: hate it. Two for two so far, I think of
- 32:18Speaker 6: people not hating my books, but you just never know
- 32:20Speaker 6: until you start getting some reactions back.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I put way too much so forth into my results. John,
- 32:26Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I was a mess. I'm Mr. Neurosis anyway.
- 32:29Speaker 1: And every time I'd have a book come out like
- 32:31Speaker 1: week of, I'm like, I hate it. It's the worst.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I'm not worthy. I go through all that sort of
- 32:36Speaker 1: doubting myself. So I hope you're a little more mentally
- 32:40Speaker 1: healthy than I am.
- 32:41Speaker 6: Unfortunately, Bobby, I think you and I maybe are more
- 32:43Speaker 6: alike than we know. Because that's a lot of how
- 32:47Speaker 6: I am as well. But I don't know, I guess
- 32:49Speaker 6: it's you choose, it's pick your poison, right? Like, there's
- 32:52Speaker 6: some people who I've encountered in my career, you probably
- 32:54Speaker 6: have to Bobby who think like, everything they've ever done
- 32:57Speaker 6: is the greatest thing that's ever been done. And it's like,
- 32:59Speaker 6: I did this thing, and no one's ever done it better.
- 33:02Speaker 6: And I am much more of the everything I've ever
- 33:04Speaker 6: done is not good enough. I guess if I At
- 33:07Speaker 6: least for me, I'd rather be more on that side
- 33:09Speaker 6: and constantly striving to be better and more. But the
- 33:13Speaker 6: flip side of it is that you're never satisfied. And
- 33:16Speaker 6: that is also something that I've had to work through
- 33:18Speaker 6: of just like, hey, I said if I could just
- 33:21Speaker 6: do this thing, then I'd be happy. And then you
- 33:23Speaker 6: get that thing. It's like, I'm still not quite as
- 33:25Speaker 6: happy as I thought I'd be.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I had a little bit of that, too,
- 33:27Speaker 1: because I think everything I do is the worst thing
- 33:28Speaker 1: that's ever been done. Not even just the worst thing
- 33:30Speaker 1: I've ever done, but the worst thing that's ever been done. OK,
- 33:33Speaker 1: so Lane B and Lane is out this week. Just
- 33:35Speaker 1: a reminder, guys. get it. I haven't got it. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: have it, but I'm not going to read it until
- 33:40Speaker 1: I finish my book, The Wager, right now. And man,
- 33:43Speaker 1: this is a British warship. They're in some trouble right now, John.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I don't want to tell you too much about it,
- 33:47Speaker 1: but they're in some trouble right now.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I do want to start with Oregon because holy crap.
- 33:53Speaker 1: And I just want to go to one of your
- 33:54Speaker 1: central arguments, which has been that if he would have
- 33:56Speaker 1: left last year, he'd have been a top three pick. Now,
- 33:58Speaker 1: this is only week two for Oregon. Is there a
- 34:02Speaker 1: chance that this game and look they didn't have an
- 34:05Speaker 1: easy run with boise state either so let's not act
- 34:07Speaker 1: like that was a walk in the park is there
- 34:09Speaker 1: a chance his draft stock could go down.
- 34:11Speaker 6: Yeah certainly possible um and i think that's you know
- 34:14Speaker 6: you think about a year ago bobby like nobody was
- 34:17Speaker 6: thinking necessarily fernando mendoza is going to be the number
- 34:19Speaker 6: one overall pick like right we always have guys who
- 34:22Speaker 6: start i and fade and guys who kind of come
- 34:24Speaker 6: out of nowhere and rise up um and it's kind
- 34:27Speaker 6: of almost funny when you look like a year out
- 34:30Speaker 6: of like what the draft projections are and then compare
- 34:32Speaker 6: them to the actual thing because they just changed so
- 34:34Speaker 6: much so i think you know it's a combination of
- 34:37Speaker 6: factors it's not just dante right i mean i i
- 34:39Speaker 6: also feel like there's some coordinator issues there potentially um
- 34:43Speaker 6: in which they lost this incredible offensive coordinator will stein
- 34:46Speaker 6: he's at kentucky now uh they promoted internally and you
- 34:50Speaker 6: know it didn't look great week one against boise state
- 34:52Speaker 6: but boise state's a good team you kind of all
- 34:54Speaker 6: right you know it happens it's And then it didn't
- 34:56Speaker 6: look good again against Oklahoma state and kind of across
- 34:58Speaker 6: the board, like decision-making wasn't great. Dante didn't look very comfortable.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Some of the decisions he was making were not great.
- 35:06Speaker 6: And they have this stunning loss to a team. They
- 35:08Speaker 6: were 20 plus point favorite over in Oklahoma state. So
- 35:11Speaker 6: he's going to have to, you know, improve again, totally
- 35:14Speaker 6: two weeks. There's an opportunity for that to go up,
- 35:16Speaker 6: but you know, Just as he could go down, we
- 35:19Speaker 6: might see other quarterbacks move up. And one of them
- 35:23Speaker 6: could be the guy he played against in Drew Mestermaker,
- 35:25Speaker 6: who had a pretty darn good day for Oklahoma State.
- 35:28Speaker 6: And he's a guy that people have high on in
- 35:31Speaker 6: some ways, a potential first round pick down the line.
- 35:34Speaker 1: OK, so Mestermaker is interesting because, again, with him coming
- 35:37Speaker 1: with his coach and they go to Oklahoma State, high
- 35:40Speaker 1: hopes and they lose to Tulsa week one. It's him
- 35:43Speaker 1: and Dante Moore kind of flipped it because bad week
- 35:46Speaker 1: one from Estimator. Great week two. At least Dante Moore
- 35:50Speaker 1: won week one, had a bad week two. But as
- 35:53Speaker 1: college football, is it so week to week and there's
- 35:56Speaker 1: just so much parody that maybe it's just a week
- 35:59Speaker 1: for both of them and it really doesn't define anything
- 36:01Speaker 1: about them?
- 36:03Speaker 6: Definitely possible, right? And I think that's like by the
- 36:06Speaker 6: end of the season, we'll obviously know a lot more.
- 36:09Speaker 6: But I do think like to your broader point, like
- 36:12Speaker 6: there is so much more parity now that I do
- 36:14Speaker 6: think we'll see probably wilder upsets, wilder results. I mean,
- 36:19Speaker 6: the Oklahoma State one stunned me. I mean, it really did.
- 36:21Speaker 6: I was not expecting that for all the reasons you described.
- 36:24Speaker 6: They lost to Tulsa the week before and they did
- 36:26Speaker 6: not look good doing it. I mean, Tulsa... Tulsa defense
- 36:29Speaker 6: did a much better job stopping Drew Messamaker than Oregon's did.
- 36:33Speaker 6: And you would never and never could have predicted that
- 36:35Speaker 6: to happen. But guess what? In a week from now,
- 36:37Speaker 6: Oklahoma State might look bad again. And we might be saying, man,
- 36:40Speaker 6: maybe they're more like the team that lost to Tulsa.
- 36:42Speaker 6: So there's a lot of week to week, I think, variance.
- 36:45Speaker 6: And you have to kind of, you know, bake that
- 36:48Speaker 6: bake that into the cake. And it is why these
- 36:50Speaker 6: first couple of weeks are. They're very fun because it
- 36:53Speaker 6: gives us a chance to react to a lot of things.
- 36:56Speaker 6: But there's also the chance that our reactions look very
- 36:59Speaker 6: dumb by the end of the season, just because we
- 37:01Speaker 6: have such a small sample size and we're we're taking
- 37:04Speaker 6: these bigger opinions and takes on things. But we still
- 37:08Speaker 6: just still know so little. And I think even really
- 37:11Speaker 6: by week four, week five, we're just going to barely
- 37:13Speaker 6: be really getting to know a lot of what these
- 37:15Speaker 6: teams actually are compared to what we know about them
- 37:18Speaker 6: right now.
- 37:18Speaker 1: On my hate list, number one, Osama bin Laden. Number two,
- 37:22Speaker 1: Bernie Madoff. Number three, University of Texas. And in that order,
- 37:24Speaker 1: but they're all close. They're very close in the same
- 37:27Speaker 1: range there. They fluctuate, too, day to day. So I
- 37:30Speaker 1: hate Texas so much. However, I really like Arch Manning.
- 37:34Speaker 1: And it is an internal battle. that I struggle with.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I was, this is hard for me to say, I
- 37:40Speaker 1: was happy to see them fired up at the end
- 37:42Speaker 1: of the game after they won that game. So, Texas,
- 37:45Speaker 1: for real?
- 37:46Speaker 6: This is a great question just because of what we
- 37:49Speaker 6: saw in that game, right? Like, I mean, and I
- 37:51Speaker 6: remember watching that game, my bosses were texting me like,
- 37:54Speaker 6: You're going to crush Sark in your column or in
- 37:57Speaker 6: what you write. And because it was looking so bad
- 37:59Speaker 6: for them. And then, of course, they come back and
- 38:02Speaker 6: they win. And Arch looks great at the end. And
- 38:04Speaker 6: now we're all super excited about Texas. So I think
- 38:07Speaker 6: Texas is super talented. They are one of the best teams,
- 38:10Speaker 6: certainly in SEC. That's what we thought heading into the season.
- 38:13Speaker 6: Are they the team? I still have some questions. And
- 38:16Speaker 6: I still... You know, there's some things that are still
- 38:18Speaker 6: concerning to me based on what I saw. But, you know,
- 38:22Speaker 6: sometimes we think about these dream seasons that can happen.
- 38:25Speaker 6: You need things to go your way. You need fluky things.
- 38:27Speaker 6: You need wild comebacks. You need to somehow some way
- 38:32Speaker 6: you won. And so when you're able to have an
- 38:34Speaker 6: all time comeback, which Ohio State has. First team since
- 38:38Speaker 6: 1988 to blow a 20 point lead as a number
- 38:40Speaker 6: one team. When you can win a game like that
- 38:43Speaker 6: as Texas, it could be the start of a magical year.
- 38:46Speaker 6: And maybe by the end of the season, if Arch
- 38:49Speaker 6: Manning wins the Heisman, we're going to look back to
- 38:51Speaker 6: this game as like a key foundational part of his
- 38:54Speaker 6: resume of like, wow, this guy has something special about him.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Yeah, they're still Texas. They're still Texas. And I, again,
- 39:04Speaker 1: I root for Arch, but I have a lot of
- 39:06Speaker 1: Texas friend fans, fan friends, and they also know they're
- 39:09Speaker 1: still Texas. And they tend to have one or two
- 39:12Speaker 1: of those moments that remind you they're Texas. And they're
- 39:15Speaker 1: always really good, but they haven't been able to be great.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Is that fair?
- 39:19Speaker 6: Absolutely. I mean, you look at all that they've had.
- 39:22Speaker 6: They haven't fully underachieved under Sark. I mean, listen, they
- 39:25Speaker 6: went to the semifinal twice. Last year, that team was disappointing.
- 39:28Speaker 6: But like they still haven't fully broken through yet. And like,
- 39:32Speaker 6: we still have to see it to believe it. And
- 39:35Speaker 6: I have some, texas fans in my life um and
- 39:38Speaker 6: they're very amusing um maybe not as amusing to you
- 39:41Speaker 6: bobby they can be amusing to me just how wild
- 39:43Speaker 6: their swings are uh but i would say they still
- 39:46Speaker 6: have some skepticism about sarkisian themselves of like is this
- 39:49Speaker 6: guy truly the guy to win it all for us
- 39:51Speaker 6: and now they're feeling amazing right now after beating ohio
- 39:54Speaker 6: state but i had one friend of mine during the
- 39:56Speaker 6: game who after they finally won was like i need
- 39:59Speaker 6: to delete basically every text i've sent over the course
- 40:01Speaker 6: of this game and how mean i was about texas
- 40:03Speaker 6: uh Because he was just freaking out by how bad
- 40:05Speaker 6: they looked that first half of the game.
- 40:07Speaker 1: My family are all diehard Sooner fans. It was not
- 40:10Speaker 1: a good weekend for them. I did not expect Michigan
- 40:13Speaker 1: to do that after what Michigan didn't do the week before,
- 40:16Speaker 1: even though they won. Was that game as much of
- 40:18Speaker 1: a shock to you?
- 40:19Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I think the two big surprises
- 40:23Speaker 6: of the weekend, for me at least, were Oregon and Oklahoma.
- 40:26Speaker 6: Because it's also, those are two teams that people loved
- 40:29Speaker 6: heading into the season. Now, this is not to toot
- 40:32Speaker 6: my own horn, because I'm going to be wrong about
- 40:34Speaker 6: many things over the course of the season, probably. But
- 40:38Speaker 6: the two teams that I was probably more down on
- 40:40Speaker 6: nationally compared to the average person were Oregon and Oklahoma.
- 40:43Speaker 6: I mean, people had Oregon winning the national championship and
- 40:46Speaker 6: that's not how I viewed them. But Oklahoma, you thought
- 40:50Speaker 6: with the defense that, you know, you're going to get
- 40:52Speaker 6: Brent Venables every year, plus healthy John Mateer, second year
- 40:58Speaker 6: at Oklahoma with Ben Arbuckle, their offensive coordinator. Like I
- 41:01Speaker 6: thought they were going to win probably by double digits, honestly,
- 41:04Speaker 6: against Michigan. Now that makes me, I guess, a mark
- 41:06Speaker 6: because I fell into the trap, but just the way
- 41:09Speaker 6: that Michigan, you know, played week one, you know, kind
- 41:12Speaker 6: of all the weirdness surrounding quarterback Bryce Underwood. Like it
- 41:15Speaker 6: just felt like a game that Oklahoma should win and
- 41:18Speaker 6: potentially win handily. And that did not play out at all.
- 41:21Speaker 6: And I think now you're getting more questions about what's
- 41:24Speaker 6: going on with the offense. Why does it not look better?
- 41:26Speaker 6: Why could we not score more points against a Michigan
- 41:29Speaker 6: team that has not looked great to this point? So
- 41:32Speaker 6: that's concerning. And, you know, you look at the rest
- 41:35Speaker 6: of their schedule, Bobby, and it's very challenging. I mean,
- 41:38Speaker 6: there's a very real chance that, that Oklahoma could have
- 41:41Speaker 6: three losses before we even get to November when they
- 41:44Speaker 6: have to play Florida in Ole Miss and I think
- 41:46Speaker 6: Texas A & M. So they've got an incredibly challenging
- 41:49Speaker 6: schedule as it is. And when you drop a game
- 41:51Speaker 6: like this to Michigan in your non-con, it's going to
- 41:54Speaker 6: be hard to kind of get back on track to
- 41:56Speaker 6: try to make the playoffs just with what's still to come.
- 41:59Speaker 1: One other note about that game, because I did watch
- 42:01Speaker 1: the whole game, but Bryce Underwood still didn't look great
- 42:03Speaker 1: throwing it, but he looked good running it. I mean,
- 42:06Speaker 1: is that something you're going to see them do more
- 42:08Speaker 1: with him as, okay, let's utilize this?
- 42:11Speaker 6: They had success doing that at Utah. They had the quarterback, Dampier,
- 42:15Speaker 6: who maybe if Bryce Underwood's not at Michigan, you try
- 42:18Speaker 6: to bring that guy with you because they were effective
- 42:22Speaker 6: using his legs and different things last year at Utah.
- 42:24Speaker 6: So I do think it's, you know, it's one way
- 42:27Speaker 6: to get the offense moving, right? Like Bryce's passing has,
- 42:30Speaker 6: has not been where they've wanted it to be. Right.
- 42:33Speaker 6: There were concerns, uh, heading into the season that his
- 42:36Speaker 6: passing is maybe not what they were expecting when they
- 42:39Speaker 6: arrived at Michigan, especially knowing this is, you know, former
- 42:43Speaker 6: number one, overall recruit, uh, you know, eight figures deal
- 42:48Speaker 6: to come to Michigan. And so if the passing game's
- 42:50Speaker 6: not there, use his legs, use some different things to
- 42:53Speaker 6: just get the ball moving downfield. And then maybe that
- 42:56Speaker 6: opens up the passing game, you know, down the line.
- 42:59Speaker 6: And frankly, I think the guy on the other sideline,
- 43:00Speaker 6: John Mateer, that's one of his strengths, right? Like that
- 43:02Speaker 6: guy can be a battering ram at times. And so
- 43:04Speaker 6: Bryce isn't quite built the way Mateer is, but that's
- 43:07Speaker 6: a strong kid. And I do think maybe that's a
- 43:09Speaker 6: way to use him at least early round until you
- 43:13Speaker 6: figure out kind of what you can do effectively with
- 43:16Speaker 6: him passing the ball with a new offensive coordinator, a
- 43:19Speaker 6: new head coach.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I'm sure you saw maybe it live or at least clips,
- 43:22Speaker 1: but it's a bad move for game day to have
- 43:24Speaker 1: Ted Cruz out there regardless. Like you have to put
- 43:27Speaker 1: that in a controlled setting. I mean, he wasn't on
- 43:29Speaker 1: talking politics and look, I'm not a Ted Cruz guy,
- 43:32Speaker 1: but you don't put anybody politically political talking politics out
- 43:36Speaker 1: there because what happened was freaking hilarious is they just
- 43:39Speaker 1: yelled boo Ted sucks Ted sucks like and I understand
- 43:43Speaker 1: what they're trying to do because it's a bipartisan we're
- 43:46Speaker 1: trying to make sure that college football has a body
- 43:48Speaker 1: that can actually make decisions without having to get sued
- 43:51Speaker 1: every every you know month by a different lawyer in
- 43:54Speaker 1: a different state would you agree that if they're going
- 43:58Speaker 1: to do that it needs to be within walls of
- 44:00Speaker 1: some sort of building so people can't scream over the message.
- 44:04Speaker 6: I would agree. I think Ted Cruz has the mindset
- 44:09Speaker 6: of all publicity is good publicity. And that's really putting
- 44:13Speaker 6: it to the test based on the reaction that he got.
- 44:16Speaker 6: I did check in with someone the other day, not
- 44:18Speaker 6: in the Ted Cruz team, but other people involved in
- 44:22Speaker 6: that Protect College Sports Act about how they thought it
- 44:26Speaker 6: went over and how Basically, the reaction I got was
- 44:30Speaker 6: not great, Bob. They did not achieve what they were
- 44:33Speaker 6: hoping to achieve. And Ted Cruz, honestly, should just be
- 44:36Speaker 6: thankful that Texas won that game because I've been at
- 44:40Speaker 6: multiple games where Ted Cruz has shown up at in
- 44:42Speaker 6: which that home team lost. There's a little bit of
- 44:45Speaker 6: a Ted Cruz curse kind of going around. And that
- 44:46Speaker 6: was one of the first things I thought of. when
- 44:48Speaker 6: he was getting booed like crazy in Austin was like, man,
- 44:52Speaker 6: if Texas loses this game, like he might, he's got
- 44:54Speaker 6: to stop going to these. I think I've been at
- 44:56Speaker 6: least two A & M games in which Ted Cruz
- 44:58Speaker 6: showed up at, and they lost both of those games.
- 45:00Speaker 1: It's like Drake almost like whoever Drake bets on and
- 45:03Speaker 1: wherever Ted Cruz goes, they tend to lose. I watched
- 45:06Speaker 1: Tennessee and Georgia tech. And for a minute, that was,
- 45:09Speaker 1: that was interesting that Tennessee was just bigger, faster, stronger
- 45:12Speaker 1: is to how good is Tennessee?
- 45:16Speaker 6: I think they've been under the radar this year. I mean,
- 45:20Speaker 6: you look at them now, the top 15 team. I
- 45:22Speaker 6: don't think that we even thought of them maybe as
- 45:24Speaker 6: a top 15 team coming into the season. Something that's
- 45:27Speaker 6: just kind of based on the chaos of other teams
- 45:29Speaker 6: losing and things like that. But I mean, I think
- 45:32Speaker 6: the season... in a lot of ways hinges on phase
- 45:35Speaker 6: on Brandon, you know, their, their freshman QB who came
- 45:37Speaker 6: in with, you know, a lot of hype and a
- 45:41Speaker 6: great kid. I've spent a little bit of time around
- 45:42Speaker 6: a very quiet, soft-spoken, but like, you know, the classic
- 45:46Speaker 6: does all the right things. Great head on his shoulders. And,
- 45:49Speaker 6: seems to kind of be built for this current moment
- 45:51Speaker 6: of college football. And Brandon is, you know, his ceiling
- 45:54Speaker 6: is incredibly high. And, you know, I like Josh Eipel.
- 45:57Speaker 6: I mean, I know Tennessee fans, like, listen, Bobby, by
- 45:59Speaker 6: the end of the season, Tennessee fans might be angry
- 46:01Speaker 6: at Josh Eipel because he loses three games or something
- 46:03Speaker 6: like that. But he just, he's kind of a no-nonsense guy.
- 46:06Speaker 6: He's not, look at me or anything like that, just
- 46:09Speaker 6: as those guys prepared and has them ready. And so
- 46:12Speaker 6: far it's, it's been very good. And, you know, listen,
- 46:15Speaker 6: we're still about to head into the SEC season. That'll
- 46:17Speaker 6: get harder, obviously, but I think that they're trending in
- 46:21Speaker 6: a way higher than maybe we thought at the beginning
- 46:23Speaker 6: of the season. And, and I'm very excited to see
- 46:26Speaker 6: once we get into some of those early tests in
- 46:28Speaker 6: the SEC, how they hold up and how some of
- 46:31Speaker 6: their young kids hold up once we get to SEC play.
- 46:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:34Speaker 1: The Alabama-Kentucky game was interesting because for a minute we
- 46:37Speaker 1: thought it might be a game and then it wasn't.
- 46:40Speaker 1: So do we think Alabama is going to love Kalen DeBoer?
- 46:45Speaker 1: And what is their ceilings?
- 46:47Speaker 6: We were talking earlier about week to week stuff, right?
- 46:50Speaker 6: And that's definitely killing the board in Alabama. It's, it's
- 46:52Speaker 6: week to week, uh, in terms of how people feel
- 46:54Speaker 6: about them. Uh, because again, I live in Birmingham. I
- 46:57Speaker 6: have a lot of Alabama, uh, fan friends, and that's
- 47:00Speaker 6: kind of similar to Texas. Like the amount of angry
- 47:03Speaker 6: texts I was getting from Alabama fans during the first
- 47:06Speaker 6: half of that game, um, at killing the board at Ryan,
- 47:09Speaker 6: but really anybody associated, uh, with Alabama. But I will
- 47:13Speaker 6: tell you, Bobby, you know, who looked really good for Alabama, uh,
- 47:16Speaker 6: against Kentucky, uh, Connor Talty, no relation, but I always
- 47:20Speaker 6: support a fellow Talty and he was looking great. He
- 47:23Speaker 6: was hitting his field goals. I was kind of brewing
- 47:26Speaker 6: an idea of Connor Talty as the MVP for Alabama
- 47:29Speaker 6: in that game before they started scoring touchdowns. But, you know, listen,
- 47:33Speaker 6: it's going to be up and down all season. And
- 47:35Speaker 6: at this point, I think even though they ended up winning,
- 47:39Speaker 6: This idea of Alabama struggling on the road, it is
- 47:42Speaker 6: a feature, not a bug, I think, for Kalen DeBoer.
- 47:45Speaker 6: We saw it happen the first couple years, whether that's
- 47:47Speaker 6: losing to Oklahoma, losing to Vanderbilt, losing to Tennessee. For
- 47:51Speaker 6: whatever reason, he seems to struggle a bit more on
- 47:55Speaker 6: the road. And that's something that we just didn't see
- 47:57Speaker 6: as much under Nick Saban. It's something that fans are
- 48:00Speaker 6: still trying to grapple with, certainly not accepting, but trying
- 48:04Speaker 6: to get their heads around. And so just in general,
- 48:06Speaker 6: it's just more of a roller coaster with DeBoer. And
- 48:09Speaker 6: sometimes the highs are really high, like beating Georgia. And
- 48:13Speaker 6: sometimes there are some low lows when you don't look
- 48:15Speaker 6: great against Kentucky and you're questioning everything about your fandom. But,
- 48:19Speaker 6: you know, we'll see how they kind of play moving forward.
- 48:22Speaker 6: Florida State's an interesting one coming up. And then so
- 48:24Speaker 6: they get to the heart of the SEC play too
- 48:26Speaker 6: we'll know a lot more about them pretty soon.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Two final questions if you had to pick one of
- 48:30Speaker 1: the teams to make the playoff between Oregon and Oklahoma
- 48:32Speaker 1: who do you think would make the playoff.
- 48:36Speaker 6: I'll still take Oregon just because I think their path
- 48:38Speaker 6: is easier. Oklahoma's path, I think, is just very, very
- 48:42Speaker 6: challenging with what they still have to come. I think
- 48:44Speaker 6: there's a chance Oklahoma could go 7-5 this year. And
- 48:47Speaker 6: not because I think Oklahoma's a bad team. I just
- 48:49Speaker 6: think there's so many good teams kind of in the
- 48:52Speaker 6: same range in the SEC that it could be challenging
- 48:56Speaker 6: for them to kind of get to that 9-10 wins
- 48:57Speaker 6: they probably need. Oregon has a challenging schedule as well,
- 49:01Speaker 6: but I think it's a bit more manageable for them
- 49:02Speaker 6: to possibly sneak in.
- 49:04Speaker 1: All right. Final question. I was looking at some tweets
- 49:07Speaker 1: about Jimbo Fisher and Brian Kelly. Do you think those
- 49:10Speaker 1: two guys will ever resurface and be head coaches again
- 49:13Speaker 1: of a P4 school?
- 49:15Speaker 6: They want to. uh but you know there's you need
- 49:19Speaker 6: a mutual dancing partner right um and so that that's
- 49:22Speaker 6: i think the the real question with both those guys
- 49:25Speaker 6: and i can tell you last cycle jimbo fisher was
- 49:29Speaker 6: trying to get in the mix for jobs and could
- 49:32Speaker 6: not get much traction um and not even like big
- 49:34Speaker 6: jobs like there were smaller jobs that he was allegedly
- 49:37Speaker 6: interested in um that he did not get traction on
- 49:40Speaker 6: so that kind of to me gave a sense of
- 49:42Speaker 6: where the market was um you know for for Jimbo
- 49:45Speaker 6: Fisher in that moment. Now, listen, if Florida State, which,
- 49:49Speaker 6: you know, just fired their athletic director, they fired Mike Norvell,
- 49:53Speaker 6: is Jimbo going to be trying to work behind the
- 49:55Speaker 6: scenes with every Florida State power broker he knows to
- 49:58Speaker 6: try to go back there? Yeah, I think he absolutely
- 50:00Speaker 6: is going to try to do that. I'm skeptical that
- 50:01Speaker 6: would work out, but you never know. Brian Kelly is
- 50:05Speaker 6: more interesting. Probably my favorite tweet of the college football
- 50:09Speaker 6: season so far is one imagining him at Rutgers with
- 50:13Speaker 6: a Michael Cera doing like a Jersey accent. That cracked
- 50:15Speaker 6: me up. I think that would be very funny imagining
- 50:19Speaker 6: Brian Kelly at Rutgers. But I think he still has
- 50:22Speaker 6: the itch as does Jimbo. I mean, I think they
- 50:24Speaker 6: both might have to accept that it's essentially at a
- 50:27Speaker 6: lower level than before. And if they're OK with that.
- 50:30Speaker 6: But I think that they'll be mentioned for jobs, Bobby,
- 50:34Speaker 6: whether they actually get one. I'm a little bit more
- 50:38Speaker 6: skeptical of. And I do think, especially for Jimbo, if
- 50:41Speaker 6: he doesn't get one this cycle, it's going to get
- 50:43Speaker 6: harder and harder. Brian Kelly just got fired a year ago.
- 50:46Speaker 6: Jimbo's been out for a couple of years now. And
- 50:47Speaker 6: so if he can't get in the mix, it'll be
- 50:50Speaker 6: very hard for him to get back. And if he
- 50:52Speaker 6: doesn't get back, I think he's pretty entertaining on TV.
- 50:55Speaker 6: I think he'd be pretty good at continuing to do that.
- 50:57Speaker 1: All right. The book is out this week, Lane Being Lane,
- 51:00Speaker 1: the story of Lane Kiffin, college football's agent of chaos.
- 51:02Speaker 1: John Talty. Thank you, John. Talk to you soon. I
- 51:05Speaker 1: hope the book is, I hope this is like the
- 51:07Speaker 1: greatest week of your life. And well, second, third, depending
- 51:11Speaker 1: on your family situation, but let's go third, a solid third. John,
- 51:14Speaker 1: good to talk to you. Talk to you soon. Thanks.
- 51:16Speaker 6: Appreciate you, Bobby.
- 51:17Speaker 1: The Aaron Rodgers thing was funny when he said that
- 51:20Speaker 1: when he proposed to Shailene Woodley and then she said,
- 51:22Speaker 1: hold on, I got to go have sex with this
- 51:24Speaker 1: other guy first. That's weird.
- 51:26Speaker 3: Was she joking?
- 51:29Speaker 6: No.
- 51:29Speaker 3: She was serious.
- 51:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I think he's full of crap half
- 51:32Speaker 1: the time.
- 51:33Speaker 4: But man, as much as he annoys me, I just
- 51:35Speaker 4: love when he talks because he says some crazy stuff.
- 51:39Speaker 3: I feel like he'd be fun at dinner.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Oh, I don't. I feel like I'd get annoyed with
- 51:42Speaker 1: him in 10 seconds.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Oh, really? Maybe an appetizer and that's it.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Coffee.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I didn't watch all his clips though.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Yeah, there were some good ones in there.
- 51:50Speaker 1: There were some good ones. So I thought that was
- 51:52Speaker 1: pretty fun. I don't know if there's anything else you
- 51:55Speaker 1: want to talk about. Nah. Can we ever.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Talk about Tua's burner account?
- 52:03Speaker 1: It was his wife. She posts for him.
- 52:05Speaker 3: I know, but that's what they said.
- 52:06Speaker 1: No, it was.
- 52:11Speaker 3: It was for sure?
- 52:12Speaker 1: It was for sure his wife because I forget what
- 52:16Speaker 1: it was.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Because it was another account, but I guess the wife said, no, no,
- 52:19Speaker 3: that was me.
- 52:21Speaker 1: No, it wasn't a burner. They wrote it under Tua's
- 52:24Speaker 1: name giving a comment to Tua's post. That's what it was.
- 52:29Speaker 3: That's what it was.
- 52:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 3: And what did it say like?
- 52:31Speaker 1: But she does it social media.
- 52:33Speaker 4: We're so proud of you. You got this.
- 52:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:36Speaker 1: But it looked like he was saying it to himself.
- 52:38Speaker 4: Right, right, right.
- 52:39Speaker 1: But yes, it was hurt.
- 52:41Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:42Speaker 4: And he already got hurt.
- 52:44Speaker 1: They're all hurt.
- 52:45Speaker 4: I hate injuries, man.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Just turn them off. You can do it mad and
- 52:49Speaker 1: turn injuries off.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Like just like two weeks. The first two weeks turn
- 52:52Speaker 1: injuries off.
- 52:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:53Speaker 3: I wish they can just do the like, you know,
- 52:54Speaker 3: Miyagi where they can just fix it real quick.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Unless it's a team I don't like.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Correct. Or a team we didn't bet on.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Or Deshaun. Or Watson. Right, right, right.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Eddie wants to kill him.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't believe I said that. My kids were like, what?
- 53:11Speaker 1: Chiefs tonight, huh?
- 53:12Speaker 3: Chiefs and Broncos.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Yeah, should be a good one.
- 53:14Speaker 1: That'd be a good one.
- 53:14Speaker 4: I'm excited.
- 53:15Speaker 1: To get two quarterbacks coming off injury.
- 53:18Speaker 3: Man, I saw that and I just like, I'm like, man,
- 53:20Speaker 3: I need a break. Already, I feel like I need
- 53:22Speaker 3: a break.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Well, last week was heavy, though, because it was Wednesday, Thursday,
- 53:25Speaker 1: Saturday with college, Sunday. It was five hardcore days because
- 53:28Speaker 1: it was the beginning of the season.
- 53:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:30Speaker 1: But I feel you. I feel you. All right.
- 53:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Who do you think is going to win?
- 53:35Speaker 1: Chief? Probably Denver.
- 53:37Speaker 4: You guys don't have a team in this right now?
- 53:38Speaker 1: Nah. Good. But I don't care. I don't even know
- 53:41Speaker 1: that I'll watch because I really got to pick and
- 53:43Speaker 1: choose now with the baby.
- 53:44Speaker 3: Yes.
- 53:44Speaker 4: Isn't it tough?
- 53:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 1: And my wife, A-plus MVP, because I watched all the first...
- 53:50Speaker 1: 12 to 3 games, no interruption. She's like, just go
- 53:53Speaker 1: watch all your games. So I did all that. And
- 53:55Speaker 1: then once the 3 o'clock games came, I think she
- 53:57Speaker 1: had just committed to letting me watch football all day,
- 53:59Speaker 1: which is hard because she's got the baby all day.
- 54:01Speaker 1: But I was like, no, no, no. So we went
- 54:02Speaker 1: and did a trip with the baby and walked the
- 54:04Speaker 1: baby around. That's where I found that hat.
- 54:06Speaker 3: On your trip?
- 54:07Speaker 4: Oh, that was right before the game?
- 54:08Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 54:09Speaker 4: Oh, you're so red.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Did you wear that during the game?
- 54:11Speaker 5: No.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Did you wear that walking out of the store?
- 54:14Speaker 1: No.
- 54:15Speaker 3: No chance. No chance.
- 54:16Speaker 5: All right.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Thank you, guys. We will see you later on this week.
