- 0:00[SPEAKER_09]: I remember living off $9 a hour at Michigan State, so making 60 or 70 a year, I still thought that was decent.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_09]: Don't despise your 95.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_09]: Your first investor is your 925.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_09]: It gave me the money and the financial security to take losses.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_06]: But at some point, you gotta start investing.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_06]: In fact, that course money comes fast and that culture money comes fast.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_06]: But if you don't
- 0:27[SPEAKER_09]: The reason why money is so powerful, it doesn't need to off day, a sick day, a mental health day.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_09]: If you deploy it, it can always go make money on your behalf.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_06]: What's up, family?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_06]: Today, we have a highly respected guest, man.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_06]: He is a force of nature in real life, online.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_06]: And in the finance space, he's created one of the largest finance communities on the Patreon platform called The Quiet Wealth Club.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_06]: And
- 0:53[SPEAKER_06]: on YouTube.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_06]: He didn't wait or ask for permission.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_06]: He didn't try to fit into anyone else's box and didn't follow the traditional path actually.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_06]: He created his own path and his own economy.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_06]: Listen, family.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_06]: He's connected with millions.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_06]: Do philanthropy?
- 1:11[SPEAKER_06]: internet series you see them dominate social media pack out venues across the country and touch the lives of others on a very personal level with over 1.5 million followers over 220,000 on Facebook another 120,000 on Instagram over a million on YouTube and over 100 million views.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_06]: He's already shown that you don't have to wait for approval or
- 1:39[SPEAKER_06]: for others to follow your path to success.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_06]: He's a devoted husband, the devoted father, and a savvy entrepreneur.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_06]: One of the most genuine people in the game and in business that I've met and a man of God, man, please help me welcome Chris saying the people's chip.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_09]: Man, thank you for having me, Dave.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_09]: You know, phenomenal job, too.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_05]: A lot of time, this is a long time, kind of.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely, man.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_09]: Long overdue, long time coming.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_09]: We've been trying to coordinate like in schedules for a minute now.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_09]: So, I'm happy to be here, man.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_09]: More importantly, I'm excited about you, the person you are, and some of the things you're doing.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_09]: So, this should be a good one today, man.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, absolutely.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_06]: You know what the hardest part of my job is at the level of podcasting that I'm at.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_06]: It's finding someone who's not going to be on five different podcasts as soon as you're done.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_06]: That's how it works, like they go here, if they're like the same week.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_06]: They're gonna be like four or five different blockers.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_06]: I don't mind it because I think the conversations we bring are different and especially unique.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_06]: But this is a true gem for me, man, because you are absolutely crushing it.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_06]: And to have the following that you have, it's kind of unique not to almost in a sense, get the notoriety.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_06]: You know, it's like you don't have the notoriety, but you have a huge file.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_06]: I don't even notice that there.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_06]: Do you understand what I'm saying?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_09]: Let me tell you like this.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_09]: I had to pick early on as some people choose fortune or fame.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_09]: I chose fortune.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_09]: Therefore, the fame, the notoriety, may be a little less.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_09]: for the thing that matters, which is the wealth, the money, the ability to be a blessing.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_09]: That is the thing that's intact, and one of the things that I even had through you, my, myself, of, when I was praying, I said, Lord, bless me, so I can bless people.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_09]: Part of that blessing was in riches and wealth.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_09]: I have that.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_09]: There's a lot of people that's famous and broke.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_09]: I refuse to be one of them.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_06]: But you know, I want to start out with the story of how we've met, and I thought it was odd.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_06]: I ain't going a lot, and I'm like, yo, there's got to be something behind this guy.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_06]: So last year at Podcast Summit, Ebony says me, she said me a text, she's like, hey, this guy wants to like give you an amount of money, it's like five figures in just, you know, for a podcast Summit.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, what is he want?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_06]: She's like he's saying he doesn't want anything.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_06]: and I'm like, everybody wants something.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, what is he wants?
- 4:26[SPEAKER_06]: You're like, I don't know.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_06]: Let's set up a call.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_06]: So we had a conversation.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_06]: And I think in the call, you was like, man, I see you make this post where you said you're always going to bed on yourself.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_06]: You always put your own money up front.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_06]: And many of us don't really get any assistance.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_06]: He was like, yo, so I want to bless you with that.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_06]: And I was like, what do you want?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_06]: He was like, I don't really want nothing.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_06]: And I had to tell you the stuff I'm gonna do because I can't, I don't wanna just take your buddy.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_06]: He was like, yo, I just wanna bless you.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_06]: Then I started looking you up and you do this a lot.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_06]: You said you give way a certain amount of money every year.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_09]: Every year, we allocate a million dollars to give away to invest in people, businesses, nonprofits, or what have you.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_09]: And so that's just a real big part of who I am and what I do, I often say I have a contract with God to be a blessing.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_09]: And so,
- 5:17[SPEAKER_09]: I'm just doing my part, and then even when it came to you, I was so moved, one, just been following your journey before I even told you, I think you were the sleepest for suckers guy first.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_09]: And so I had to even like, man, is that the same dude?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_09]: And so when I think about your whole run and totality, man, you've been, you
- 5:38[SPEAKER_09]: They might have been a pioneer, a trailblazer, putting in work a long time.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_09]: So when it came to sown into what I saw you doing, your post was like, man, I always put my money up, but it would just be nice from time to time, it just had some financial backing.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_09]: I'm looking like, I don't even know if the black community has anybody that's a plug or that's a resource that they can come to for funds for investment.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_09]: And so I was also using it as an opportunity just so until you because as an investor and as an angel investor, we sometime invest in people, companies, and different things from a private equity perspective that.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_09]: the black community never even know about.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_09]: And so when you talked about me not one thing, a lot of times, I return and come on to other end.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_09]: Like seven years, 10 years down the line.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_09]: And so it was like, no, I didn't need anything.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_09]: When you know what you've done,
- 6:37[SPEAKER_09]: you know what you've done.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_09]: You don't have to prove to anybody.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_09]: You don't have to have people shouting out from the rooftops.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_09]: I know the things that I've sold into that I invested in, that happened because of I played a small party and so your podcast summit was something you are already built the whole empire around.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_09]: I was just lending a little financial support and just letting you and hopefully others that follow you know, like man, there is investors within our community that look like us that so into efforts that we are behind and that's for men and women that's for the culture and general and that's just what I've been standing on.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_06]: but I ain't gonna lie, it weirded me out a little bit, because that doesn't have, that's not normal, especially like, everybody typically has an ulterior motive.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_06]: The people that I know, I know, there's something you want, so even coming from a stranger, I just couldn't really figure it out.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_06]: And then fast forward, podcast, I'm a this year, you are the first investor, and it happened really weird,
- 7:48[SPEAKER_06]: We were talking about, I'm like, you know, this is the vision for podcast.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, he was like, I'm an invest.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_06]: And, yeah, yeah, he sent a six figure wire without a contract.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, yo, let me get the agreement together first.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_06]: He was like, nice.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_06]: It's a bit of a lot of information.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_06]: I looked at the account, I said the money there.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_06]: And I was like, oh, well, let me, let me do it.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_06]: And I was like, yo, Chris,
- 8:14[SPEAKER_06]: Now I see why you built such a huge empire and why your wealth continues to grow.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_06]: I see it absolutely.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_06]: And I've never, ever in my life experience like that.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_09]: And as awesome as that is, that's also unfortunate.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_09]: Because I know there are so many other individuals like yourself that say that would say the same thing.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_09]: They never seen that come from us.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_09]: And one of the biggest compliments I got was when I do all of this giving around a country
- 8:42[SPEAKER_09]: It hit different when it comes from us.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_09]: It's different when somebody like you pull up with a million dollars in blessed the community.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_09]: And that's kind of what you're alluding to, but it should, I'm trying to normalize the financial literacy conversation, the personal finance conversation, the philanthropy conversation, because it shouldn't, because other communities do this all the time.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_09]: You ever hear those stories?
- 9:07[SPEAKER_09]: I asked my dad for 50,000.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_09]: I got a loan from my grandpa for,
- 9:11[SPEAKER_09]: It's essentially that, it's just, in my case, I'm not your dad, I'm not your relative relative, but I tell everybody, I don't have to know you to bless you.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_09]: If my spirit is moved by your grind and what you're doing, and I know I'm sitting on the means to make a difference to make a real impact in terms of changing your life and what you're trying to do, I'm a play a small world if you allow me to.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_09]: That's all it is.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_06]: You took away my getting out the mud,
- 9:43[SPEAKER_05]: And then I put my own money up, and nobody helped me.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_05]: And he just took that away from me.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_09]: No, but you did, but you did long before I came along.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_09]: You got it out of the money.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_09]: And it don't take away that, man.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_09]: I often say,
- 9:55[SPEAKER_09]: Like now, I have corporate sponsors.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_09]: I have a lot of different entities that's sewn into what I'm doing.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_09]: So I can do more of this.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_09]: But I got it out the month first.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_09]: They seem just like I seem you grinding first.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_09]: I was way before social proof.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_09]: I saw sleep as for suckers day.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_09]: And that guy.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_09]: whether you got weary and well doing you persevere.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_09]: And then you ended up here and popped up on my radar.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_09]: That was probably 10 plus years ago.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_09]: 15 years ago when you was doing that and then look at you.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_09]: And so for me, I'm with him like, dang.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_09]: He's still kicking, he's still pushing.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_09]: He don't know me from Adam, but he don't have to.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_09]: I know it's hard.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_09]: I can see it.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_09]: And he's a type of people I like to invest in because at the end of the day, that's what I do.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_09]: I invest in people.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_09]: but I'm investing in you.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_06]: How many businesses do you typically invest in?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_06]: Let's just say a year.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_06]: Like every year you invest, right?
- 10:54[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, every year in Vesso, I have equity ownership in over 60 companies right now.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_09]: So there's a vetting process.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_09]: There's a whole, like, for example, I'm a sports and tech investor, primarily.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_09]: And so that might until anything from like the 1v1 leagues, or the three on three leagues, or directly to a baseball team, or like you guys here in Atlanta, no fan base.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_09]: I was an investor in that and some wireless companies, but I didn't have something like you, him up for a fully all.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_09]: You are tech, but you are where the world is going.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_09]: I see every entity from athletes, once their careers done, they're all transitioning to analysts and or piecasters, rappers.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_09]: No longer able to really do anything with the music cause of streaming, but they all are pivoting to pie casting.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_09]: Who's already leading in that space?
- 12:00[SPEAKER_09]: My guy.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_09]: why not be an investor in where I see and know the world is going.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_09]: And so maybe over 60 companies at this point in time.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_09]: And so sometimes they drop off because they might exit or they might, so like you're typically looking for anywhere from a five X to a 10 X return on the money you so into people, so into businesses and so some exit.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_09]: And you get your money and okay, I might be down to 58.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_09]: I need to find two more to replace Because I got this lump sum of when fall of money.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_09]: So I'm gonna look around I'm gonna peruse around for rail to somebody who I want to connect with this year for example He has a lot of black tech founders that
- 12:48[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know if they get enough of my dollars and I want to have more of a relationship and investment into some of those company verses, some of the ones that still the combat leave.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_08]: What?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_09]: You know what I'm saying?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_09]: And so for me, it's about just finding alignment, finding that next thing that can go or sometimes it just, you need the seed money to get it going and I'm gonna give you that push.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_09]: You can't get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Is it true that you lost 250,000?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: Don't the first pie can't summon the 2023?
- 13:27[SPEAKER_06]: Huh, unfortunately, don't remind me though.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_06]: I still have nightmares.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_06]: So, Dave, why do it again?
- 13:36[SPEAKER_06]: The same reason people should another episode when the first one doesn't go about it.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_06]: No, that's not the same thing.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_06]: Of course it is.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_06]: You got to bet on the idea not the results.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_09]: But most people would have shut it down.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_09]: Too unhappy to grant us a lot of money to lose.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_06]: Well, it depends on what your building.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_09]: So, what happened after that event?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_06]: Attendance grew 40% every single year, year after, year after 2023.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_06]: So you tell me if it's working.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: So tell me, what are you expecting this year?
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: How many people are you expecting this year, Dave?
- 14:08[SPEAKER_06]: We're going bigger than ever this year.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_06]: 2,500 podcasts are all under one roof.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_06]: This is the largest podcast in conference in the country.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_10]: How do you plan to do that when you're not even bring in any celebrities?
- 14:20[SPEAKER_06]: What do you mean?
- 14:21[SPEAKER_06]: I don't understand.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_10]: You said in an interview that you haven't really booked any major celebrities to come.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: So Dave, how do you plan on selling 2,500 tickets if you haven't booked any big names and celebrities?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_06]: You tell me, our workshops are led by practitioners, people that are actually in the game.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_06]: We actually go after booking the teams behind the talent, not the host of the show itself.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_06]: The team, there it was, we got the sauce.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_10]: So this big conference thing in July.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_10]: What's it called again?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, it's called the sauce.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_06]: What's it called?
- 14:53[SPEAKER_06]: No more questions.
- 14:59[UNKNOWN]: No more questions.
- 14:59[UNKNOWN]: No more questions.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_07]: No more questions.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_07]: No more questions.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_07]: No more questions.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_07]: No more questions.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_07]: No more questions.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_07]: No more questions.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know if they have enough of my dollars.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_06]: That is a dope way to put it.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_06]: What has been the most successful investment to date?
- 15:15[SPEAKER_09]: Twofold, publicly, Nvidia and Tesla has been my biggest.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_09]: They have made me thousands.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_09]: of percent return on my investment.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_09]: Because of trade and not even trade and as just investing, that's owning the stock in terms of shit.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_09]: I got this book, Tesla and Nvidia from a public company.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_09]: I have a company I'm extremely excited about, and sometimes due to private equity and non-disclosure, we can't always go into great, great detail, but there's a company called Players TV.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_09]: I'm a former athlete, and I have an affinity for the sports lane.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_09]: obviously.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_09]: So players TV, if you ever watch like the Lamar Odom documentary or if you seen the last dance, like they put on
- 16:05[SPEAKER_09]: sports shows that showed up behind the scene stuff.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm an investor in that.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_09]: And so that's probably going to be my next two blow is it turns out that what I foresee would be my investment in players TV.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_06]: It's called players TV.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_06]: Players TV.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_06]: Is that a publicly traded company?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_09]: No, it's private.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_06]: First of all, it's like it's beautiful.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_09]: Yep, and so we're hoping to not only just continue to make our imprint, we're just bringing good TV around a lot behind us seeing lives of athletes.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm saying, and I got a feeling it's going to be.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_09]: You can't lose with sports.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_09]: It's the most watched.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_09]: basketball, such as when football season come around, football is the most watched, it covered a one through five slots on national TV in terms of viewership.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_09]: So there's an affinity for sports, specifically football.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_09]: And if you can, in my case, be half equity ownership and again, where the eyeballs are at.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_09]: So then when a licensing agreement come, when a TV
- 17:13[SPEAKER_09]: Boom, you get that big, big payout.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_09]: One thing I was going to tell you, Dave, two I missed out on was the big three, what icecube and meal organics.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_06]: Really, you had the opportunity.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_09]: Those were two that, so one thing you get as an angel investor, as a credit investor, people, not people, banks, hedge, they bring you opportunities.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_09]: Your private, your private, lenders, bankers will hit you up like, hey,
- 17:43[SPEAKER_09]: You might be a part of some, some different flaws, again, I haven't paralleled toe out into the combat.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_09]: You'll get these opportunities shot your way, and two that I missed was Big Three and Meal Organics.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_06]: They sent it to you.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_09]: So, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you,
- 18:06[SPEAKER_09]: They don't necessarily send it to, they present it to you.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_09]: They say, hey, here are some good companies to consider series A funding.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying, when there's still opening the funding rounds and so from me, I don't know what I was doing Dave to not have my ducks in the row.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying, because I'm always ready.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_09]: I'm always getting quick on a draw.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_09]: I would say, get the paperwork situated for me after, but I want to get in and I didn't get in.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_09]: and I seen her sold, and I was like, oh my God, because you certain things you see, you kind of, when you in this space, you kind of know what has a huge potential to hit and store enough.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_09]: And my thing that was unfortunate though,
- 18:53[SPEAKER_09]: the backlash that she got in a black community because they don't understand ownership and then building a business that you can sell that you can exit from.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_09]: And so that part was unfortunate, but no, she did the right thing and I was just, I was late to the party.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_06]: Let me ask you, how does it come, is it like an email, what a bunch of stuff like check it out, or does someone present, hey, we got these five companies and I'll tell you all about all of them, how do you get that information?
- 19:25[SPEAKER_09]: Investor ownership groups will come and some people on the introduce aid and put in day one our list, so when I bring them to you, you already here first, I'm going to introduce you to some of my ownership groups and so
- 19:39[SPEAKER_09]: are sitting up here with billions of dollars with companies that they are either already deploying money to or they fill this up next.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_09]: And so they'll hit you up like, hey, we're going to give you this opportunity if you want to get in on this while it's at this stage before a go to series B series C and whatever the case may be.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_09]: And so that's how that was.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_09]: Not necessarily from Yale or Ghanics, but I'm just saying in general, because a lot of them come.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_09]: No, I'm saying, but now you also have things like, we, funder, you have things that are out there like that that also, you can just be part of to kind of, for rules through what you might be interested in.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_06]: Well, I wanna know how you got here, but before you do that, I think there's some entrepreneurs that may be watching this.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_06]: that want to know how to be investable, so what are you looking for when you're looking at a company or a person to invest in?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_09]: Great question.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_09]: A couple things stand out for me.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_09]: One, the person.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_09]: I think, and I'm gonna be probably the first to say this, I think.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_09]: Even in sports now, people don't have a favorite team.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_09]: They have a favorite player.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_09]: So, for example, and I'm gonna teach you guys a lesson in investing by using sports as an analogy.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_09]: If you like LeBron, he has been your favorite player in Cleveland, Miami, and now LA.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_09]: Just don't no matter where he's at, he's the person you're drawn to.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_09]: Investing is becoming the same thing.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_09]: We are investing in Elon Musk.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_09]: We invest in an Alex Carp of Palantir.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_09]: We are investing in Jamie Diamond over at Chase.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_09]: We are investing in people because we know they're gonna get the job done.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_09]: And when I take it back to the community, I'm looking for dope people who's doing dope stuff in their respective field.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_09]: And so yourself being one of them.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_09]: I got several others that have done the same where you're either got good personalities.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_09]: You got high emotional intelligence.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_09]: You have a product that's scalable or that even if you don't see it, I can see like, man, if we plug him here, introduce him to this contact and put him here and let him just cut, he'll take something that he don't even see yet to a hole in the level.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_09]: So it's about having four sites too in terms of the person, but also the business that they're behind.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_09]: And like using you as an example,
- 22:26[SPEAKER_09]: One takeaway the world should have when watching you as how passionate you are about what it is you do.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_09]: There's a joy to it.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_09]: There's a...
- 22:36[SPEAKER_09]: You never work a day in your life when you love what you do, type of vibe to it.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_09]: And if people, if they don't see nothing else, my thing for them, for you is to see that.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_09]: Like, this is how you wanna be about your business.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_09]: You don't wanna invest in somebody that's running in the victim Olympics, dreading their business, always complaining, don't know if the door's gonna be open.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_09]: Olympics.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_09]: You want somebody to be on a cloud nine about what it is they're doing.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_09]: even in it as well, and I think you've done a good job there.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_06]: Entrepreneurs are just the plates people don't.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_06]: Because it's almost like when you find like at what time you find them, if they get started in the logo and you know, people are excited and then launching, they're excited, but they've been running at the same business for 12 months, and it's like, ooh.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, sometimes though that first 12 months, even the first three years, it's just the training ground, that's where you take your lumps.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_09]: That's where you learn lessons that and if you can come on the other side of that, that's where the success begins to kind of take shape.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_09]: And so you're right, getting through that first wave is huge for a lot of entrepreneurs.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_06]: Man, and I hope, I think this is a good lesson because I want people to, when you feel down, you never know who you're gonna come across.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_06]: And Chris might say, yeah, that's the dope I did, but yeah, energy ain't right.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_06]: Like, you feel, this guy told me one time, he wasn't me to invest.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_06]: And he was like, I'm about to give it this one last push, man.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_06]: And I was like, I'm not investing in that.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_06]: What do you mean one last push?
- 24:18[SPEAKER_06]: You mean investing your one last push?
- 24:21[SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_06]: We need to be able to say, y'all, this is going to happen.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_06]: Regardless.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_06]: That's what you're saying.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_06]: And I think that's going to set a lot of people free, too, bro, because they'll let life beat them up.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_06]: But they don't know when the person's coming.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_09]: That's going to help.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_09]: Exactly.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_09]: And that's why it's important you continue to do the work.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_09]: You continue to just show up because you never know who's watching.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_09]: That's another thing, Dave.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_09]: You didn't even know me from a can of paint.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_09]: that I'm an investor, that I'm an angel, and I'm saying angel investor.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm saying you didn't.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_09]: Like you said, you were surprised to get the call on.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_09]: And you had no clue.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_09]: And typically a lot of people don't.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_09]: Some people come to you because they do know you.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_09]: And they say, hey, I'm trying to do this.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_09]: Can you invest?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_09]: But some of our investments are people, I don't know the owner and players TV, but he's a dope individual, educated brother.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_09]: He's one of us, and I'm saying, brilliant, brilliant, dude.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying, and he built something that was right up my alley.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_09]: And I said, another thing, you don't have to build everything.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_09]: Somebody has built the thing already that you might have had on your heart to do, but he beat you to it.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_09]: Instead of competing, come alongside.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_09]: It's okay to come alongside that.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_06]: Hmm.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_06]: I want to get into your, uh, your investing equipment, because me investing, I got some money in the market.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_06]: I'm realizing that there are many different investors.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_06]: And you see, to successful investors are doing about how to be successful in investing.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_06]: And it's like, there's a different philosophy, but I know you have been doing this for a very long time, but before I get
- 26:04[SPEAKER_06]: I want to know how you got here.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
- 26:07[SPEAKER_06]: You grew up in Detroit, right?
- 26:09[SPEAKER_09]: I'm Michigan, ground rapids.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_06]: Michigan, ground rapids.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_06]: What was life like so young?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_09]: When I was young, I come from a two-parent household.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_09]: My brother went to prison.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_09]: for 20 years, so I spent half of my childhood and Michigan Department of Corrections visiting him.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_09]: So, then have much of a childhood in terms of like traveling and doing stuff.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_09]: But one thing that it did was show me what I didn't want to do and or be.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_09]: I didn't want to go to prison.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_09]: And so sitting up at the prison every Saturday, every weekend, with other kids, is that six flags, Cedar Point, Michigan Adventures,
- 26:47[SPEAKER_09]: and I'm just sitting up at the prison, although I liked to deceive my brother, I didn't like the space and the environment we were in.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_09]: So early on, I knew that won't be me.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_09]: This won't be my outcome.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_09]: This won't be the route I take in life.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_09]: And so fast forward.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_09]: I'm around eight years old, and I discovered that I was pretty good in sports.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_09]: A little bit better than other Everett, eight-year-olds.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_09]: And that kind of took me through my hole.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_09]: That's from my identity.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_09]: Got wrapped up in, being an athlete.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_09]: That's for football and basketball.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_07]: I work.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_09]: I'm only five nine.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_09]: So I took up football for my height.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_09]: The physics he's standpoint.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_09]: But I was coming up.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_09]: I was pretty good in both.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_09]: end up being a star athlete in football on basketball on high school.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_09]: And then I went on to play football at Michigan State.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_09]: And that's where life kind of hit me.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying I had to walk on.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_09]: I had a hard time for the first time in my life.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_09]: I didn't had a red carpet treatment.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_09]: I was super star since I was eight years old.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_09]: And I got to the highest level.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_09]: And no longer had to red carpet treatment because I had to label
- 28:00[SPEAKER_09]: And so if you get to know me, you're going to see like, oh, Chris got a different ship on his shoulder.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_09]: And it's really from that experience.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_09]: But sometime what?
- 28:12[SPEAKER_09]: you don't look like what you've been through.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_09]: What guy was taking me through then?
- 28:15[SPEAKER_09]: Now I can see he was preparing me for everything that I am today.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_09]: And so that ended up being what kind of started me down a path of financial literacy because my career didn't go like I planned it.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_09]: My career didn't.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_09]: then lend this stuff from me going to the professional level.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_09]: And so I had to buy back on my education.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_09]: I ended up getting my bachelor's and master's degrees.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_09]: I graduated top of the class.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_09]: And so I always tell people that I'm street smart, book smart, and common sense.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_09]: I wanted those rare guys that from an intellectual level, whether we're in the trenches, whether we're at Harvard or Yale or wherever.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_09]: Like, I'm,
- 28:56[SPEAKER_09]: I'm adaptable in terms of my knowledge base.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_09]: And so I've seen how far that took me.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_09]: incorporate and so that allowed me then to again kind of climb up the corporate ladder.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_06]: What was the job?
- 29:11[SPEAKER_09]: I worked.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_09]: I'm a cognitive behavioral therapist and so I was working with high-profile student athletes at Notre Dame and then I'm meaning only the players that can go to the lead WNBA, the NBA, the NFL and then I worked at Grab's Community College and so those two
- 29:30[SPEAKER_09]: kind of let me see more of what I wanted to do, which was continue to pour into people through teaching them about how to manage their money, how to handle their finances.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_09]: And so again, the financial literacy piece have been a hallmark.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_09]: the whole time, because as an athlete, I was always wondering, how do you make millions of dollars and go broke?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_09]: Treated five years, I think you'll create this over.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_09]: That was always my question day that just, the photo me man, I'm looking like, how is this?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_09]: How is that?
- 30:01[SPEAKER_09]: And so I just went down a rabbit hole early on, in my own college career, in my own journey.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_09]: And you know what I'm saying, fast forward.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_09]: I was being, I went to Wayne State in Detroit and I was being groomed if you will to be the player, director of player development for the Detroit Lions and I was doing all the stuff, meet with all the people while in Detroit is in close proximity to the Lions and so.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_06]: And this is in collaboration and conjunction with your job at the time.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_09]: And my degree.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_09]: And so they was like me, you to perfect do your former athlete.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_09]: You played at a big team school.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_09]: You got the right historical perspective.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_09]: You from the neighborhood.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_09]: You made it to the highest level.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_09]: So they were, you got you educated.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_09]: You have the credentials.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_09]: You have, you check all the boxes.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_09]: But Dave, man, as I went on that journey,
- 31:01[SPEAKER_09]: I'm looking like, man, Lord, if this is for me, show me a sign that it is.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_09]: And if it's not, show me that it's not.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_09]: And sure enough, it was placed on me to build my own.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_09]: And that's where Grand City Sports came from.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_09]: That's where Debrit's Sports came from.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_09]: That's where life after sports.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_09]: I have a whole collective around that very thing.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_09]: How is it that athletes go broke?
- 31:30[SPEAKER_09]: three to five years after they played careers over.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_06]: I have a idea of how that works.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, let me just want to.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_06]: I have an idea of how it works, but from the inner workings because you know a lot of athletes, outside of buying houses, buying cars, what do you think is the deepest issue on how they make millions, tens of millions,
- 31:56[SPEAKER_06]: And have nothing else.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_09]: I think family is one factor and not budgeting and thinking it's gonna be like that forever.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_09]: I think we come into the, we fall in victim to thinking this,
- 32:11[SPEAKER_09]: $50 million contract, which, again, that's just the headline.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_09]: That ain't a count for taxes, the jock tax, the different tax you're going to pay with every city you play in, and so that $50 million might really only be 12 million when it's all said and done there.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 32:26[SPEAKER_09]: You pay everybody.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_09]: You're a manager, you're agent, you're nutritionist, you're trainers, and so they not seeing that.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_09]: They just even with the Floyd Mayweather.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_09]: Everybody keeps saying he's a billionaire.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_09]: Do you know what the taxes is on a billion dollars?
- 32:43[SPEAKER_09]: Off top.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_09]: He's right under he he he he he back into the 500 million dollar level just had 37 percent on a billion dollars and so
- 32:52[SPEAKER_09]: when you think about these things that we just say casually, like man, he ain't probably ever had the full billion in his hand, liquid.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_09]: And then when you got properties, private jets, fuel, your audience expenses, shopping sprees, you know what I'm saying?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_09]: Like that money goes fast, especially Dave, you know this when you don't have cash flow.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_09]: Just because you have,
- 33:17[SPEAKER_09]: income doesn't make you wealthy.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_09]: And high income doesn't mean you are wealthy.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_09]: And we confuse that in the black community a lot, which is another thing I'm battling against, trying to normalize and teach like, no, high income is cool.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_09]: You've got to do something with that.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_09]: And then how much you make is how much you keep.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_09]: and that's one thing I've seen athletes and others fall victim to.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_06]: Dang, bro, so you would say that after, like, payouts for entrepreneurs, that sounds like 70 something percent that's going after taxes, or do you have a question?
- 33:59[SPEAKER_09]: Off-rip going to the IRS, which in Floyd case he had a 20,
- 34:06[SPEAKER_09]: 18, tax bill due, and it's 2023.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_09]: So, that's already, that's already signaling certain things to me.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_06]: But you think you're struggling financially?
- 34:14[SPEAKER_09]: I can't say if he is or isn't.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_09]: What I would say is this, I know he don't have the cash flow to come with to maintain a life he lives.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_09]: For example,
- 34:25[SPEAKER_09]: Floyd, for example, only made money when he had a fight.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_09]: I don't see nothing that he does and see you waste to me that he's making money in between fights when he don't have a fight.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_09]: What is that entity?
- 34:41[SPEAKER_09]: What is that vehicle?
- 34:42[SPEAKER_09]: It's the same thing that reality TV stars go up against.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_09]: It's the same thing that I see athletes once they're career in.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_09]: go up against like, you don't, they don't have a 7 a.m. meetup community like you do.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_09]: They don't have these different streams of income that when one is down, one is up.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_09]: If all of them is hidden, you know to put some money away for rainy day.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_09]: They don't have that and this is where the difference comes.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_09]: So if you only got money coming out and it's never been replenished after 10 years, you is going to have to get back in a ring.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_09]: You ain't gonna have to super-dude for a minute and do nothing like this, you know what I'm saying?
- 35:25[SPEAKER_09]: So that's a more, that's a deeper issue that you didn't have your cash flow.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_09]: You didn't, you don't have your investments really making money on your behalf off this segment.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_09]: There's a few athletes, I wish I got to hold up.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_09]: Floyd being one, Adrian Bronner being another, and like just to show them and tell them,
- 35:47[SPEAKER_09]: you know what I'm saying?
- 35:47[SPEAKER_09]: The right money moves to make with the amount of wealth that they have accumulated due to their talents and their gifts because I can see firsthand as an investor like not you and really you're not living off your interest you're not you're not putting your money in the right places for it to make money for you and you can't blame them like I say
- 36:10[SPEAKER_09]: into the day they come from environments that that wasn't taught.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_09]: So I don't always have something they gon' miraculously know it.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_09]: But that's where your circle matters.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_09]: That's where the people that you are in business with matters.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_09]: And I just, I feel for those guys.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_06]: Man, it's kind of like how when Mike Tyson was talking about, he made a hundred million dollars in his career, something like that.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_06]: And people can't understand how does one lose that in a lifetime?
- 36:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_06]: But what you said was super important too, we made a hundred million.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_06]: 50 is going to taxes, or 40 is going to taxes.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_06]: A big portion is going to the fact that I made a hundred million, I'm outside.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_06]: We see the stories of Mike Tyson, where he's like driving a car, and he left the car.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_06]: It's like, you know, I'll just leave this hundred thousand dollar car on the side of the road.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_06]: But you think, y'all, I make so much money.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_06]: My next fight, that doesn't mean that.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_09]: That don't mean anything.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_09]: But also, not only did it don't mean anything, that was a liability, and that was a depreciating asset on top of you saying it don't mean nothing.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_09]: So, Floyd has a bunch of stuff that doesn't do anything for him.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_09]: Like you got 14 Maybacks.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_09]: It ain't like, dude, you could have bought 14 stocks.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_09]: You could have bought AMD Nvidia Palantir Apple, dumps saying crowd strike.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_09]: You could have bought 14 quality companies and they had better than sitting off 14 cars.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_09]: That's just sitting there.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_09]: You only got one foot, you only got one car at the time, and so it's those type of things that
- 37:58[SPEAKER_09]: that we often do in it and just a Floyd thing.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_09]: I'm definitely not ragging on him.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_09]: It's just from a cultural standpoint, we do these things and until the money runs out, you look back like, eh, that wouldn't smart.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying that wouldn't the right move.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_09]: Man, if I can go back, I would do this.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_09]: I would do that.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_09]: And so, but sometimes you don't get that chance to get back.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I see though, it is not just athletes, it's actually, how can I put it?
- 38:29[SPEAKER_06]: Financial influencers in a sense, where, I mean, we be honest, there is a way to make money, whether it's through webinars and absolutely teaching people, and there's a way of where people love you, and you, that person, and you're making all this money right now.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_06]: And then like my man Neil, he'll tell you, I won't wait so many cars.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_06]: Brock, but a bunch of houses, right?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_06]: Now, Neil understands how to make money.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_06]: And he did some financial, he made some financial moves, which is money to that nature.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_06]: And some of the other guys, they live the big life, but they had people like you telling them like, I, let's get in the stock.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_06]: So we can, like, I'm not saying like, don't do it, but I see a lot of people that,
- 39:18[SPEAKER_06]: just have the money and they think the money's coming forever and I'm like there's going to be a season bro.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's going to be like that.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_09]: There's going to be a season and I think every person needs to experience balling out of control and living it up.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_09]: You need to get it out of your system.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_09]: But what people need to know and if those you haven't had millions and tens of millions of dollars before,
- 39:39[SPEAKER_09]: that high last for two years at best.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_09]: After two years of driving the Lambo, two years of having to match it.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_09]: You start looking at all these rooms in the house.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_09]: You start looking like, man, man, I don't even go in that room.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: Since I bought this house, I ain't even did that room.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_09]: We still ain't got that room fixed.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_09]: You start to realize, like, wait a minute.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_09]: And so, I think, get it out your system, yes, but understanding, like,
- 40:04[SPEAKER_09]: these things like you said Dave, that money don't last and there will be seasons where you have to know it ain't gonna be like this all the time.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_09]: I'm not gonna always be up.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_09]: They might retire my wife and I retire at 37, 35 and 37 and, um,
- 40:25[SPEAKER_09]: One thing about retiring young, we was probably the fire movement financially independent retired early.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_09]: And one thing about retiring young at the height of our professional career, I told you I worked in higher education, she worked in health care.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_09]: One thing about retiring young is it teaches you, you gotta make that money last for the rest of your life.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_09]: So in our case,
- 40:50[SPEAKER_09]: You kind of avoid that hole on a ball till you fall.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_07]: Boy, that could troll.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_09]: Stun, do all that because you lookin' like, man, hey, this got to last us 25 years.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_09]: Thinkin' about the 4% rule.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_09]: And luckily in my case, man.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_09]: 24% rule of... 4% rule is that you have enough money to last you 25 years if you only pull out 4%.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_09]: Let me hear money.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_09]: So if you have a million dollars,
- 41:18[SPEAKER_09]: you only spend in 4% of a million dollars every year.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_09]: So you live on 40,000.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_09]: Whatever you can do off a 40,000 year salary, your money will last for 25 years.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_09]: And so that's a concept that if people know that, they will see the pathway to retirement faster for one.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_09]: But for two, it shows you, and I can't spend 60,000.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_09]: I only got 40.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_09]: And so with that being said, like I said, we was able to retire.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_09]: and we knew our money had to last us.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_09]: Now, the blessing came was we were that free.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_09]: We retired young and then I got on YouTube and told our story.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_06]: But here was this.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_09]: This was we retired in 2020, but the death, we came that free in 2018.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_09]: I got on YouTube January 1st, 2020 to tell the 2018 story.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_09]: And I was that free.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_09]: And,
- 42:17[SPEAKER_09]: has zero subscribers, long be whole.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_09]: I got the talking about man.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_09]: I took a lunch just to work every day.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_09]: I come out on here.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_09]: These are some of the things we did to save money, to live within our means, stuff that all york and do.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_09]: And I was just kicking it like that.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_09]: And I was,
- 42:35[SPEAKER_09]: Just going through a series of that and somebody in a comment's ex, what did you invest in?
- 42:41[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_09]: Thank God for the comment section.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_09]: I replied to that comment and I said, I invested in VTI, my whole journey.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_09]: VTI and Nike at the time, but VTI.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_05]: What's VTI?
- 42:53[SPEAKER_09]: A total stock market.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_09]: So the equivalent, like this spy or the S&P 500, it would be that equivalent.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_09]: It's a total stock market.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_09]: the comment section then reply and want it more.
- 43:08[SPEAKER_09]: What other stocks should we be looking at?
- 43:11[SPEAKER_09]: What are some dividend stocks and so like I told you off camera?
- 43:15[SPEAKER_09]: I just start giving the people what they asked for.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_09]: Dave, my first you on YouTube, I had zero subscribers in January by June.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_09]: I had 1,000 subscribers.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_09]: So I was monetized.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_09]: 1,000 and I had to 4,000 watch hours.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_09]: My birthday July 17th,
- 43:35[SPEAKER_09]: My first.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, by June, so January to June, a thousand subscribers in the next month, a huge jump.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_09]: 10,000.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_09]: And listen to this story.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_09]: So by my birthday, I had 10,000 subscribers.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_09]: By the end of the year, mind you, I'm debt free and listen to everything I'm saying through the context of being debt free.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_09]: By the end of the year, from July through December, I end up making 200,000 on YouTube.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_09]: That moment, some carry to 2021, 2022.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_09]: And I made over a million dollars every year on YouTube since then.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_09]: $100k a month, 120k a month, 110k a month, 98k a month, 80k a month.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_09]: so on and so forth.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_06]: On YouTube, on YouTube.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_09]: Just the YouTube.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_09]: On YouTube.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_09]: and it blown up my YouTube, and now I was talking about the stocks that I invested in while I was becoming that free.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_09]: So that kind of thrust me to talking more about financial literacy, personal finance, investing, which end up ultimately leading over into the trading side because I already have been investing for 10 plus years.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_09]: There's nothing you can do.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_09]: after you set it and forget it.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_09]: There's only so much buy and hold you can do before you dabble into.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_09]: Let me see what it, let me take a little trade.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_09]: Let me let me dabble over here and see.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_09]: How does trading thing, what's up with that?
- 45:29[SPEAKER_09]: And so, I start introducing that to the world.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_09]: I start introducing that to you too, because I had a loyal following off of building long, conform content and the people gravitated to that.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_09]: The people want it more or that.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_09]: The people's like, Coach, nobody taught us this.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_09]: Nobody taught us about a car option.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_09]: Nobody taught us about a put option.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_09]: Nobody taught us about a debit spread, an iron condor.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_09]: They didn't know none of these things.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_09]: And so I'm looking like, boom, that's the problem.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_09]: I'ma saw it right there.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_09]: I'ma teach the whole world, but specifically our people, how to read a chart, and how to do technical analysis.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_09]: And that became my thing.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_09]: I teach you so that you're not gambling.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_09]: They're already trying to gamify the market in the industry,
- 46:20[SPEAKER_09]: I want to teach you how to read a chart.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_09]: I want to teach you what the candles are saying, what these candles and how they close, what it indicates, what's coming next.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_09]: So that you can start beginning to have a plan around moves to come.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_09]: It's all boom, it just blew up from there, man.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_09]: And so I just,
- 46:40[SPEAKER_09]: kept my head down feeding the people, serving the people because they saw that they needed it.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_09]: It was a way to supplement what they were doing and their current work in their current life.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_09]: And it was also a way for them to learn a new skill that I often tell them, nobody can take away.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying you guys are on a corporate plantation and sometimes,
- 47:05[SPEAKER_09]: Again, they can cut that job any point in time.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_09]: You see the way they do a massive layoffs.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_09]: But if you know how to go get money off the market, there's nobody can take that away.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_09]: That's open all the time.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_09]: Every day of the week, whether it's futures, whether it's crypto, whether it's something going to be open for you to, if you know what you're doing, you can go make some money.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_09]: And that will help you negate some of the uncertainty and the workforce.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_09]: with this onset of AI coming down the pipe.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_09]: And so those are some of the things, man, that kind of took me to a whole new level, which is how that quiet wealth community got built.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_09]: All of that people wanted a place where they can just
- 47:48[SPEAKER_09]: I don't do courses, and now I have nothing against courses, but I don't do courses.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_09]: I don't do any of those things, so the community was my way for me to consistently teach and show.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_09]: And one thing about me, I'm a transparent guy, so I show them from day one, 0 to 100K.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_09]: I show them every trade I took.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_09]: I show them.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_09]: what it could look like for themselves.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_09]: And so they seen first because when the black community always feel like you got a build trust, they don't believe nothing if they don't see it.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_09]: And so I was big on showing them, but basically showing up every day and walking them through, hey guys, look, I'ma buy a car.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_09]: I'm gonna choose this strike price.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_09]: I'm gonna get in here and I'm gonna sell it here.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_09]: And then a lot of times people just will emulate what you do.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_09]: But fortunately, for them, they emulated somebody that knew what they were doing, and so they got the result.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_09]: Then they clicked, oh, my $50 turning to $100.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_09]: What if I would have had $1,000?
- 48:53[SPEAKER_09]: That's so.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_09]: And so, it kind of snowballed from there.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_06]: When did you start trading?
- 48:59[SPEAKER_09]: I started trading like 10 years ago, over 10 years.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_06]: Shading or investing?
- 49:05[SPEAKER_09]: investing even longer, trading is more newer 10 years, investing maybe 15 years.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_06]: So you started trading somewhere around 2016?
- 49:14[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I was like 2012, 2014 ish.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so I'm a little over 10 years.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_06]: And then, so about six years, if 2012, to retirement in 2018, I mean, you left your job in 2018.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_06]: You got a job, bro.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_09]: I was, that's why the story is so inspiring.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_09]: I'm somebody you all can emulate.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_09]: I worked in higher education.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_09]: I have a master's degree in cognitive behavior therapy.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_09]: I was working with student athletes.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_09]: I was working with...
- 49:53[SPEAKER_09]: with regular students going to school, trying to major in minor and whatever it was going to school for.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_09]: Just like everybody else, because my career didn't leave me to the NFL.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_09]: And so, but while I was on the job, I was investing in trading, affecting the skill, affecting the crowd.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_09]: And that's why I always say, don't despise your 95.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_09]: Your first investor is your 95.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_09]: It gave me the money.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_09]: Every two weeks, as 52 weeks in a year, you're gonna get paid 26 paychecks.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_09]: It gave me the money.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_09]: and the financial security to take losses.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_09]: Losses come with the game.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_09]: You can't skip the process of getting the losses out of the way.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_09]: You need to learn.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_09]: Are you loss of verse, you need to learn of what your blind spots are, you need to learn which or miss apps that you need to learn your behaviors and what plagues you so that you can ultimately master that specific thing.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_09]: And so my job gave me the resources too.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_09]: take a loss.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, but next two weeks I can pay to get given a shot.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_09]: Let me not do let me not do that though.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_06]: How much were you making it your job?
- 51:03[SPEAKER_06]: Well, okay, before you answer that question, the reason you're here is because I decided to start a podcast so that I can have engaging conversations with people.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_06]: By the way, this video will be monetized.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_06]: I'll make money off of it.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_06]: You need to start a podcast too, so you can have engaging conversations like this one.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_06]: Okay?
- 51:20[SPEAKER_06]: Which means you need to be a podcast.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_06]: I'm at 20, 26 for the price of a cheap date with somebody that you don't even like like that.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_06]: You can learn how to start a podcast, grow your audience, build your business, or use a podcast to build your brand to build your business.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_06]: You know what?
- 51:35[SPEAKER_06]: Check this out.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_06]: The pie cast summit has been nothing short of a base.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_03]: And there's no better place to learn how to have a pie cast than pie cast summit.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_09]: It's more than just like a pie cast conference.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_09]: It's a community of people who actually want to learn and get better at entrepreneurship.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_09]: 60, I think I may 60, okay.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_06]: What?
- 51:58[SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_06]: You're making a 60th out.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_06]: How long are you at the job?
- 52:02[SPEAKER_09]: I was at that job 10 years.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_06]: So you're making $60,000 here's what I want to understand.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_06]: By 2018 when you left, you're making $60,000 job.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_06]: What was the number that you said?
- 52:19[SPEAKER_06]: You know, your wife sat down to say, okay, we've got enough money right now.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_09]: What was that mark?
- 52:24[SPEAKER_09]: I think we saved 720, 5,000.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_06]: From a 60,000 a year job.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, when I tell you we live within that month, we live in Michigan.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_09]: So we have a, we bought our house, and let me give this lesson real quick.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_09]: This is called our ownership.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_09]: I know you had some guys on here, saw it out to those guys.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_05]: Shout out to Smitty.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_09]: I can't stand them.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_05]: But I still argue with them to this day.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_09]: But it's like ownership.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_09]: So we own everything.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_09]: That's a staple of what we do.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_09]: This is one of my wealth blue prints.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_09]: I own everything.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_09]: All my houses, I own outright.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_09]: I don't have no mortgage payments, no rent payment.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_09]: All my cars, I own outright.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_09]: So real quick and math lesson.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_09]: I owned my house, and it was $800 a month, everything included.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_09]: People's rent was $1200.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_09]: $1,500, $1,600, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,500, $1,
- 53:46[SPEAKER_09]: My house was $130,000, it's not worth $600,000.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_09]: $800, everything included was my monthly payment.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_09]: So follow this.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_09]: So then, same thing, I have a BMW paid off, range over, paid off.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_09]: Point being, we didn't let no money go out.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_09]: So what me and my wife used to do, we've very, very financially astute people.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_09]: Both of us, we used to say stuff like, baby, we're gonna lock in for six months and see how much we can save.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_09]: We would just do six month challenges.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_09]: Goal!
- 54:24[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, we would do three month marriage updates.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_09]: We were always just checking in, how do we do on, I'm saying, on the marriage tip, but we would have money updates every six months, six months challenges, money challenges.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_09]: We traveled for a living now, but then we would pause traveling to see, like, man, you know if we ain't gonna mount these, we would have had this much, you know what I'm saying?
- 54:48[SPEAKER_09]: You know if we ain't gonna have how wide we would have had this much, so we was just making that switch.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_09]: And we was making it competitive so it felt fun.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_09]: It was like, how much you say, how much you say?
- 55:00[SPEAKER_09]: Well, you know, we married so when we put it all together, we got this much.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm very competitive, not towards anybody, but with myself.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_09]: So my investment was the same way.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_09]: Like, that's how I got my wealth up.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_09]: Because I was like, oh, I say 13,000.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_09]: This year, this was the young me.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_09]: I say 13,000 this year.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_09]: I'm going for 15,000 the next year.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I'm going to try to hit 20 though.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_09]: And I would just remember making everything a competition within myself, not towards anybody.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_09]: And I did the same thing with our debt freedom journey.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_09]: So we had two incomes.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_09]: We had.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_09]: And this was your wife making them so... Around 70, she might have been making more than me looking.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying now mind you, I did have side hustles, I got two best selling books, I always had something on the side.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_09]: So if we add that in there, I might have got bumped up to maybe 80.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_09]: But just based off of her job and based from my job, I think she made more, she's a registered dietitian.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_09]: And so we're both highly educated, we both got advanced degrees and things of that nature, but still.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_09]: Those are where the salaries he's working with.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_09]: So the lesson in that is you don't have to have a 200k salary year to do what she and I did.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_09]: You don't have to have this exorbit amount of money.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_09]: Again, we didn't have no handouts.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_09]: We didn't have no inheritance.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_09]: We didn't have no family, give us don't money.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_09]: We started off on first base and ran around to home, plate.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_09]: And I think everybody can with the right structure, mimic and emulate some of those behaviors to get there.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_09]: God, that is cold, bro.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_06]: That's a real relationship goals, brother, to have a competition with your spouse to say, how much wealth can we build?
- 56:48[SPEAKER_06]: Like how much money can we actually save, so did you all have separate accounts?
- 56:53[SPEAKER_09]: We have separate accounts where we got joint accounts too, and so the money was always put in a
- 57:05[SPEAKER_09]: that money grow and it earned something while we were continuing to deposit into it.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_06]: Wow.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_06]: So the, is this the 700 something is that including your stock portfolio as well?
- 57:20[SPEAKER_09]: No, this was just, if we just wanted to live my June, this was a beauty of, and I'm from the trenches.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_09]: Let me, I mean, preface this for you.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_09]: I'm from the trenches.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_09]: Simply put, I remember living up $9 a hour at Michigan State.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_09]: So, making 60 or 70 a year, I still thought that was decent.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_09]: So when we were putting this money aside, I'm looking like, man, we live in off a 60 K, 70 K, give or take, if we want to live for the next 25 years off of this money, we would have to live off around 50 or 40.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_09]: We were, so we were already seeing how things was.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, we will live the same life.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you know what I'm saying for the next 25 years.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_09]: It just won't be no, we had to really plan for any of those urban purchases or things like that.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_09]: And so that helped us to know it was possible.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_09]: And then hitting that number was like, okay, we got some real financial discipline.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_09]: We have overcome some of the financial trauma other people have to deal with.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_09]: And was they really really locking and really hit this
- 58:36[SPEAKER_09]: actual number and really show ourselves and prove to ourselves that we can do this.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_09]: We can be disciplined enough financially to do this, Dave, and so when we were able to do that, we both felt good about it.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_09]: And so then the YouTube put icing on a cake, because that first year, remember I made 200 cake.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_09]: Before I made me, it's on YouTube.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_09]: I'm just talking about the 200 cake and what was that?
- 59:00[SPEAKER_04]: That was 2020.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_09]: You know what I'm saying?
- 59:02[SPEAKER_09]: And so that just was like,
- 59:05[SPEAKER_09]: Imagine getting out, I'm saying it like this, but imagine getting a free 200K when you already that free, you know what I'm saying?
- 59:12[SPEAKER_09]: And so that just kind of really sprunk thing in the action and then from there, everything just was up.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_09]: And one other thing, I had all my systems in place.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_09]: Dave, I captured every dollar that was meant to come to me.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_09]: I wasn't the dude that you ever do something to be like, man, I wish I had my link.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_09]: I wish I had my website up for this.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_09]: No, I was a guy, I had all of my stuff ready since 2014.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_09]: So when 2020 came, when the abundance came, when the overflow came,
- 59:48[SPEAKER_09]: Dave, I didn't lose or miss a dollar.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_09]: I had all my systems, I had all my payment gateways, I had all my funnels and emails, and I had everything captured from 2018, or even till now, obviously, but to the point of this video, of 2020, and that really showed me like, wow, you got a lot of people that's interested in what you're saying and doing.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_09]: My coaching, my one-on-one coaching business, brought in seven figures, my money team, that's the big thing, that's the thing they bring in eight figures.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_09]: The money team, that's the private weekly group on Sunday nights that I give out my specific place that I'm gonna trade for the upcoming week.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_09]: And so if a person wants to partake in that, they can join every Sunday night, play as come out every Monday morning, and you can easily make a more predictable amount of money.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_09]: by following what I'm trading that particular.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_09]: And I don't put that on YouTube.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_09]: I don't put that in Patreon.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_09]: I don't put that anywhere except to the money team.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_09]: So that's what makes exclusive.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_09]: That's what makes it.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_09]: That's what gives it that novelty approach to it that people sign up for.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_06]: Here's what I don't understand about that.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_06]: How are you going to know on Sunday what's going to happen in the market the next day?
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_09]: Great question because with me and everybody watching has already know, if you rock with coach, we make money on both directions.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_09]: So I make just as much money on red age when the market is down as I do when they go up.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_09]: That's one thing that sets me apart too.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_09]: A lot of people,
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_09]: only trade and make money when the stocks go up.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_09]: I'm to do on that day when y'all say and stuff like, man, I got wreck today.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying, when I'm made, I'm at K today.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_09]: It's always different.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_09]: So if you are going to be at money team, the one disclaimer always gives, I say if you join,
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_09]: You will be provided puts.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_09]: I'm going to give you the plays for the stocks that's going to go down this week as well.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_09]: So they already have a full scope of assets to make the money.
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_09]: So like say, you might only be comfortable doing a cause.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I got three or four costs were placed to the upside for you to partake in for this upcoming week.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_09]: And that's based off a chart.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_09]: That's based off a market structure, and that's based off of these type of things that are telling us relative strength for these particular stocks is to the upside.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_09]: So something else that might be on shaky ground, we might say, you know what, go, go, it's under attack, or oil is going to get hit after all of this Iran and U.S. wars over.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_09]: you want to have a competitive and it advantage to the downside.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_09]: Once this is over, the east rocks are going to sell off and come back down to their real prices.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_09]: Here's how I'm positioning you ahead of time for that eventual inevitable move.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_09]: And so they are already in position for that.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_09]: They just sit back, coach, I got 20,000.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_09]: I wanted to turn into 40,000, okay?
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_09]: Here you go.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_09]: And so they able to see the results for themselves with high level trade ideas that get them that result they're looking for.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so,
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_06]: Isn't it so unpredictable, like, as Donald Trump can wake up Monday morning?
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_06]: He sure can't say something like those off your whole play.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_09]: He does.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_09]: And he do it all the time.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_09]: It's a wrong path.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_09]: Does it as well, news, top of the hour news, does it as well?
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely.
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_09]: And then Mark is like this.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_09]: Tony 26 is a lot like Tony 22 right now.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_09]: where things are being going down in the first quarter so far to year.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_09]: And so yes, that is a very huge factor that always come into consideration.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_09]: So we speak to that.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_09]: We have a buffer in place for that too.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_09]: So for example, I say, I'll say something to the group.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_09]: Every Sunday night, I might say, Monday morning, I'll tell them, hey,
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_09]: the U.S. Iran War, say that's the big thing.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_09]: There's always something though.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_09]: I might say, hey, peace talks are happening.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_09]: If the peace talks go through, you might see it you for a pop.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_09]: You might get a quick little boost in the market.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_09]: If you're in position, take advantage of it.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_09]: If you not don't chase it, don't have to fear missing out, sit it out.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_06]: meaning it's not as, I just know guarantees, but it's not as sure.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_09]: No.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_09]: And so then we might say, okay, but if the, if some news come out that indicates that the peace talks are not happening anymore,
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_09]: The market will sell off off of that news.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_09]: You need to be flexible and nimble and pivot to the downside and notice stocks will come down if you're comfortable by puts and will make money when stocks go to the downside.
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_09]: So you kind of position and explain.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_09]: and set your people up properly.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_09]: Now, mind you, everybody ain't got the skill set to navigate all of that.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_09]: The ones that do, they come off flawless.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_09]: They'll text me coach.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_09]: I made money to the upside in and down side this week.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_09]: I was ready for Donald's, because over time, you start to see the pattern.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_09]: You like, man, Donald Trump, I could say something.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_09]: This administration wasn't, so you start over it.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_09]: If you track your results, you can start to see, like, last time has happened.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_09]: The whole market fell apart.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_09]: I got to feel that's going to happen again.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_09]: And so you might, you might position yourself for that.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_09]: And so that's what it comes down to with that, man.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_09]: But you right, there's no guarantee that it's just going to go up, because they can say something at any time, and derailed a place you had to establish.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_06]: But these, I mean, people do have in your, or a part of your money team community.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_09]: 50,000 numbers of the absorbent.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_09]: That's a 50,000.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, told you, that's a whole different beast.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_09]: This is the one thing that says, Oh, my God.
- 1:06:20[SPEAKER_06]: Wait a minute.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_06]: You said you got 50,000 people apart of your community?
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, in total.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_09]: And like a thousand join on that rich every week.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_09]: And this is a weekly thing.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_09]: So this ain't a one-off.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_09]: This is,
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_09]: I pay 250 days a week.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_09]: I'm coming back for 250 next week.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_09]: I'm coming back for 250 next week.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_06]: 250 next week or batting average has to be insane.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_09]: This is why I say it's levels.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_09]: It is levels, man.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_09]: I don't miss, but more than not Dave, I have to be on point because there's so many people as part of it.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_09]: that has changed their life because of it by being part of it.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_09]: So for me, the due diligence to our song Friday, soon as the market closed on Friday, I'm already in my back looking at what perform well this week and what has potential to continue further next.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_09]: Or...
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_09]: Well, factoring in what news might come on a pipe, what will be some contrary place we might need to be in.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_09]: So it's a ongoing thing, by Jim and we have...
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_06]: I just messed that $50,000, just messed me up, right?
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_09]: And yeah, so that's even bigger than Patreon, but the reason why I hype up Patreon because...
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_06]: Hold on, that's not the Patreon.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_09]: I own the money team.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_09]: See, the one thing people don't know, fully, is ownership is big to me.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_09]: I've been late a minute, Chris.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_06]: Hold on, Brian, I'm trying to, I'm trying to, like,
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_06]: all the one.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_06]: So because you just got to know, oh, not a water, something, something Patreon recognized you for.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, Patreon brought me to New York and put up a big billboard in Times Square for having a fastest and largest growing community in a finance space.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_09]: I think it's really Joe Biden.
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_09]: It's not only Joe Biden.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_09]: It's bigger than me on Patreon.
- 1:08:13[SPEAKER_09]: For us, pay community.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_09]: The 50,000 is separate from Patreon because I was always big on, just like YouTube.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_09]: I don't own YouTube.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_09]: People don't own Instagram or TikTok, but I own the money team.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_09]: You get where I'm going with this.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_09]: I don't, I built my own.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_09]: I said, what do Patreon look like?
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, I'ma build something lateral to that, but it's mine.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_09]: So if
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_09]: The money team is mine.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_09]: It ain't what we're up, it ain't only fans, it ain't patriotic, something we're, they getting 10% and I'm getting 80% or at 90% note, this is, oh, my ownership.
- 1:09:00[SPEAKER_06]: How many, how many community members do you have in the Patreon?
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_09]: Patreon have over 40,000.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_09]: in Patreon.
- 1:09:09[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, what is happening here, bro?
- 1:09:11[SPEAKER_09]: So when I talk about building my own community, my own ecosystem, I am the table.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_09]: A lot of times I don't have to pop out to every event or be on the scene because what are we doing?
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_09]: It's like, like, when you, and that's the thing I had explained to somebody, like, for
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_09]: What is the purpose for all of us doing what we do?
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_09]: It's to make money, take care of our families, build wealth, so on and so forth.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I'm doing that with little to notoriety, like you kind of alluded to, but in my space, I'm very well known if that makes sense.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_09]: Inside of them, communities inside of that ecosystem,
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_09]: a lot of people are making money, a lot of people are getting their lives changed, a lot of people are learning this stuff for the first time.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_09]: And so, bro, it's been a...
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_06]: This is the first time I've been building communities for a very, very long time.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_06]: So this means a little more to me because I know how incredibly difficult it is.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_06]: to build out a community like get first off, get over a thousand is a monster.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_09]: That's always my thing.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_06]: That's always my thing.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_06]: A thousand people in your community, that are subscribed to me, that pay.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_09]: Two separate things.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_09]: The money team ain't the quiet wealth club.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_09]: The money team ain't patreon and the money team.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_09]: So that's the other difference in this.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_09]: What I learned today is this, people love,
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_09]: if you can get them results.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_09]: And if I don't do nothing else, here's the thing, I'm gonna make money every day.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_09]: If you wanna make money, you might as well join.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_09]: And I think that's their proposition right there.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_06]: First off, and I'm saying, I wanna see both.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_06]: Where, okay, what's the name of your picture?
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_09]: Go to, go to Patreon slash, Chris saying.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_06]: I just go to Chris saying, okay.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_09]: So, who had up for me?
- 1:11:27[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, that's what I say man.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_09]: I see the culture champion certain things what I'm looking like man Be I'm When my time come they gonna be blown away a what?
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_09]: I have sat in an imprived and built.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_06]: I see that.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_09]: What you see?
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_06]: What is your patriarchy?
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_06]: So it's here.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_06]: I have was it almost 22,000 paid members.
- 1:11:56[SPEAKER_06]: 21,600 paid members.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_06]: And there's a fluctuation, right?
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, you talk about tens of thousands of people.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_06]: That was how to do it.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_06]: I you get the money team.
- 1:12:08[SPEAKER_06]: No, I want to be a part of them someday go to christian.com for that Chris saying But I don't think I've ever heard you like promote it or nothing, right?
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_09]: Only if you in the ecosystem you hear about it Yeah, what do you think?
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_06]: Every week, Chris shares their schools of plays a week.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_06]: These plays are not publicly available on YouTube or Discord and are only available to those.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_06]: Also, the Patreon doesn't get the plays of the money team.
- 1:12:40[SPEAKER_09]: No, two separate things.
- 1:12:42[SPEAKER_09]: That's what I mean when I tell you that.
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_09]: So it's two totally different things and separate things.
- 1:12:48[SPEAKER_09]: And the person that's on the money team,
- 1:12:51[SPEAKER_09]: They in the Patreon too, but they're coming for a different reason.
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_09]: Like, they rated to get to the money right away, the Patriot.
- 1:12:58[SPEAKER_09]: People in the Patreon, the quiet world club, they might still want to learn.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_09]: They still might be getting some education, because it's a whole learning.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_06]: Can you suggest they start there?
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, it's a whole thing called do one-on-one coaching.
- 1:13:10[SPEAKER_09]: Join the Patreon.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_09]: Then, after you have done those things, consider joining the money team.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_06]: the 101 coaching, the fewer of the Patriot?
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_09]: So yeah, because you want to understand, are you moderate, are you a beginner, are you new, do you, do you want to invest, do you want to trade?
- 1:13:28[SPEAKER_09]: People need to know, like sometimes we use words interchangeably, like not knowing the difference between trading and investing.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_09]: So the coaching helps you get clarity on, what did it you want to do?
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_09]: What did you want to accomplish?
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_09]: And so from there, they're able to,
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_09]: You know, I'm saying, have a clear pathway.
- 1:13:48[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I thought I wanted to trade, but I really just want to invest.
- 1:13:52[SPEAKER_09]: I want to buy and hold.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_09]: I work.
- 1:13:54[SPEAKER_09]: I'm a traveling nurse.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_09]: I work, and so I don't have time to trade.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_09]: I want it.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_09]: So investing gets what you meant to do.
- 1:14:01[SPEAKER_09]: Okay, boom.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_08]: Let's put you.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_09]: Let's touch you on this pathway.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_09]: And when you get inside the discord and the patreon, you go down this path.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_09]: because you're trying to invest now.
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_09]: When you're ready to trade, you come over here.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_09]: And then when you're ready to join the money team, only after you demonstrated some skills, some skin in the game, you know what, you can handle a loss and different things like that that you can come to the money team.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_06]: Got it.
- 1:14:25[SPEAKER_06]: All right.
- 1:14:26[SPEAKER_06]: I think I might be my I still don't know how to read charts, but I know I don't put an option.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_06]: Uh-huh.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_07]: I'm waiting to.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:14:34[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_06]: I haven't done puts.
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_06]: I haven't done not one put yet.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_06]: I don't even know how to do a put and I feel like I don't wrong.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_09]: So that's what a coaching would come because that's where I will hold your hand.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_09]: That's where I would say I will face time you and I would say hey, pull your screen up.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_09]: Click on this.
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_09]: Click on that.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_06]: You talk to the people.
- 1:14:54[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, that's another thing.
- 1:14:58[SPEAKER_09]: Every day I do coaching calls and they are always blown away because they think it's somebody from my team, but it's me that call them.
- 1:15:07[SPEAKER_09]: And so when that happens, that's a whole, another thing in terms of the trust you build with people, the love they have for you,
- 1:15:16[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm not rushing you off the, like, I really, I'm a people's person in the day.
- 1:15:22[SPEAKER_09]: And so I really take my time.
- 1:15:24[SPEAKER_09]: I'm a cognitive behavior therapist by trace.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_09]: So I got natural patients.
- 1:15:28[SPEAKER_09]: I got a natural listening ear.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_09]: I have natural empathy.
- 1:15:33[SPEAKER_09]: So when you combine all little skills and characteristics together for the person that really wants to learn this, or really
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_09]: It's frustrated and need you to show them something.
- 1:15:42[SPEAKER_09]: I got the requisite patience to walk them through this.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying this, so when you look at my holistic approach to build in my empire, David's all those little touch points that has made it what it has become.
- 1:15:57[SPEAKER_06]: Man, it was something that you were saying, even earlier, just wanted exciting to just have a conversation about building wealth.
- 1:16:06[SPEAKER_06]: They all saying, me and Neo, we talk all the time.
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_06]: You had that first bit of money.
- 1:16:11[SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, I bought a bunch of watches.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_06]: Because I remember Mace, the role of the Scott, I didn't give you, but you do those dumb things your money to give me and you'll talk, we were just spending money at that time, but I think what we had was good coaching from other people that were like in financial literacy like Bruh.
- 1:16:37[SPEAKER_06]: You could, but obviously, you said, like you said, you gotta bought them first couple of years.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_06]: You gotta get all the stuff you wanted as a kid.
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you got to get it out to system.
- 1:16:45[SPEAKER_06]: But at some point, you gotta start investing.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_06]: And I think a lot of influencers and gurus or whatever, they need to understand that, bro.
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_06]: Because that course money comes fast, and that coach of money comes fast.
- 1:16:58[SPEAKER_06]: But if you don't put it in some sort of vehicle, bro, you'll be broke.
- 1:17:01[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, you gotta get you money, your purpose.
- 1:17:03[SPEAKER_09]: You gotta have a,
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_09]: you got to give your money and your army of dollar bills, something to do in your behalf, one thing we always say the reason why money is so powerful, it doesn't need to off day, a sick day, a mental health day.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_09]: If you deploy it, it can always go make money on your behalf.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_09]: That's why you should invest it.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_09]: But two often times, people say, man, it's like, I got to hold him up hockey.
- 1:17:27[SPEAKER_09]: I'm only came in and before I can look up, it was going.
- 1:17:30[SPEAKER_09]: And so these are just signs that we got to real some things in.
- 1:17:34[SPEAKER_09]: We got to take a different approach and just kind of see where we can tighten some things up at.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_06]: One last question, man, when it comes to your island in May?
- 1:17:43[SPEAKER_09]: 14 years now, my wife just had a conversation, that's why I look like that.
- 1:17:51[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I'll be 15 years this year.
- 1:17:53[SPEAKER_06]: Wow, congratulations, man.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_06]: We're walking up on eight this year.
- 1:17:57[SPEAKER_06]: Let's go.
- 1:17:58[SPEAKER_06]: Learn a lot.
- 1:17:59[SPEAKER_06]: And I plan on learning another, learning another eight years.
- 1:18:03[SPEAKER_06]: But as a man that is wealthy and building wealth and power, we see that it's always, not always, but a lot of times,
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_06]: Women are the downfall, especially if they're married, you know, and he have that temptation to step out of the home that they built and I know you work with a lot of athletes and a lot of wealthy men Do you touch on that at all with that?
- 1:18:30[SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely.
- 1:18:31[SPEAKER_09]: I touch on it because that was the one covenant I had with the Lord.
- 1:18:35[SPEAKER_09]: I was a guy.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_09]: I always had a way with the ladies and some guys have that and I was one of those ones.
- 1:18:41[SPEAKER_09]: I don't drink.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_09]: I don't smoke
- 1:18:43[SPEAKER_09]: Women was my vice, but along my journey, every great man I ever knew that fell from grace, it was due to a woman.
- 1:18:51[SPEAKER_09]: Lust that work messing around, getting caught on the job, flirting, whatever the case was.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_09]: And so, from my own self, I made it a point too.
- 1:19:03[SPEAKER_09]: always keep everything on an up and up.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying always saying no staying on my name.
- 1:19:08[SPEAKER_09]: We try to have high care to high integrity in our dealings and in our relationships with people.
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_09]: But I circle back to my athletes and talk to them about the same thing.
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_09]: you're either getting involved with a woman will be your downfall or having a kid and having multiple kids will take away from your wealth, especially to women you're not married to.
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_09]: And letting them know like, yeah, and they're gonna be all after you guys with the amount of visibility you guys have, the amount of wealth you guys have, your young, your charismatic, your fun.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_09]: But you have to be thinking long-term.
- 1:19:44[SPEAKER_09]: You have to be thinking big pitch.
- 1:19:46[SPEAKER_09]: You have to have a 50,000-foot view on what's good for you, what's actually for you, and what's not.
- 1:19:53[SPEAKER_09]: And so a lot of them are receptive.
- 1:19:55[SPEAKER_09]: Some of them you reach too late or they come until you after the fact, but nevertheless, it's...
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_09]: a conversation that I always have.
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_09]: I have with my young men, I have with my professional athletes, I have with my former athletes that's no longer in the league, but there's still finding their way.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_09]: And so...
- 1:20:12[SPEAKER_09]: That's always a top conversation I have, even on my coaching course, because with me as deeper than stocks, yes, you come into me to help you invest and build wealth in a stock market, but I need to see what your spiritual life like.
- 1:20:27[SPEAKER_09]: I need to see what your emotional life like.
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_09]: I need to see what your financial life like.
- 1:20:30[SPEAKER_09]: I need to see how you operating which is mental health, like all of these things matter to me, the whole makeup of a man.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_09]: the whole makeup of a human being is what I'm after when I'm dealing with people day-to-day.
- 1:20:44[SPEAKER_06]: Wow, do like is there something that you learn personally, or do you just have that discipline?
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_06]: Like I'm good.
- 1:20:55[SPEAKER_06]: I think I have the discipline and it's not like I look at one on a whole, I need that and I have to like fight against my flesh.
- 1:21:04[SPEAKER_06]: I don't have that bad, but for somebody who does,
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_06]: How do you, how do you get them to make the right decision?
- 1:21:11[SPEAKER_06]: You know what I mean?
- 1:21:12[SPEAKER_09]: I had uh, uh, let me see how it can answer this.
- 1:21:20[SPEAKER_09]: That was the one thing I knew if I had any kryptonite, it would have been that.
- 1:21:25[SPEAKER_09]: So for me, I always had it in check.
- 1:21:28[SPEAKER_09]: Meaning the Lord already told me, if you, like so for instance, we travel a lot.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_09]: and I know I have a way with the ladies.
- 1:21:38[SPEAKER_09]: Like some guys just got the swag.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_09]: I just saw it first, so check this out.
- 1:21:43[SPEAKER_09]: If I check into a hotel and it's a baddie and it's a baddie, either checking me in and or doing room service, like I'm saying.
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_09]: I can peep the vibe.
- 1:21:56[SPEAKER_09]: Why are you saying you can't fake energy?
- 1:21:57[SPEAKER_09]: You kind of know when, when, when, when, when it all was wrong, it's feeling you, whether you're a made eye contact or whatever.
- 1:22:04[SPEAKER_09]: So I had to check that, I had to check my flesh right on the spot in terms of like, don't mess up what you built for that right there.
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying it so, that,
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_09]: Dick Discipline, that sexual discipline is key and important for genuinely successful men to maintain their success.
- 1:22:24[SPEAKER_09]: It's one thing to obtain it, it's another thing to sustain it, and then it's to hold another level to maintain it.
- 1:22:31[SPEAKER_09]: And oftentimes,
- 1:22:33[SPEAKER_09]: a slip-up, backsliding, having a lustful eye could be that thing that derails your whole thing.
- 1:22:41[SPEAKER_09]: And so for me, I'll make you sure athletes know man, it can happen like this and I'm saying if you
- 1:22:48[SPEAKER_09]: whether you tipsy, whether you're not saying you have the bad game, you have the good, whatever the case may be, you have to guard against that.
- 1:22:56[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying it so because that's what I always said, I had to guard against.
- 1:23:00[SPEAKER_09]: And so I've been more or less wanting to make sure I'll never put my wife in a compromising position or a position of look foolish.
- 1:23:10[SPEAKER_09]: So I'm very big on on how I conduct myself, but I also know I tell her of front.
- 1:23:16[SPEAKER_09]: a lot of my dealings is with women.
- 1:23:19[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying I have a 50 50 audience.
- 1:23:21[SPEAKER_09]: I got all the aunties.
- 1:23:23[SPEAKER_09]: They all in the money team.
- 1:23:24[SPEAKER_09]: They all in the Patreon.
- 1:23:26[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying, and then I'm out.
- 1:23:28[SPEAKER_09]: So we do meet up so like, so I'm constantly like, even at Times Square, they all came down there.
- 1:23:36[SPEAKER_09]: They're going to be around, but you need to know that I'm going to not only honor our covenant, but also handle myself in a respectable professional manner.
- 1:23:48[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying.
- 1:23:48[SPEAKER_06]: Did what she always understanding or did that take some girl in?
- 1:23:52[SPEAKER_09]: No, she luckily, she always been understanding.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_09]: But I think, again, like my same trait that made me a favor among the people and tires of my transparency and a stock market and with my wealth and everything.
- 1:24:04[SPEAKER_09]: I'm also like that with my wife and with people.
- 1:24:07[SPEAKER_09]: Like so off time, like I told my wife for the time.
- 1:24:12[SPEAKER_09]: I don't give handshakes, I give hugs.
- 1:24:16[SPEAKER_09]: So you're gonna see me hug.
- 1:24:19[SPEAKER_09]: people when I'm like, if my fans come up to me, they're getting the hug.
- 1:24:23[SPEAKER_09]: I'm not shaking their hand.
- 1:24:25[SPEAKER_09]: I'm a guy's up.
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_09]: I'm a hug to ladies.
- 1:24:29[SPEAKER_09]: So she them had 15 years or 20 plus years if we go back to Michigan State.
- 1:24:34[SPEAKER_09]: She's half seen it from the start.
- 1:24:37[SPEAKER_09]: So it ain't new to her.
- 1:24:39[SPEAKER_09]: The women respect her.
- 1:24:41[SPEAKER_09]: She respect me and I'm saying, and it's been like that.
- 1:24:46[SPEAKER_06]: Now think over it's 15 years, you've shown that I can be trusted.
- 1:24:51[SPEAKER_09]: I can be trusted.
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_09]: And that's the biggest thing I never did anything to lose her trust.
- 1:24:56[SPEAKER_09]: Therefore, she's never had to doubt my trust.
- 1:24:59[SPEAKER_06]: That's good.
- 1:25:00[SPEAKER_06]: Because a lot of people do things that are so questionable in, you wonder why your girl's tripping, but you caused that, you know, earlier on I think my wife, she was, she had some insecurity about that.
- 1:25:16[SPEAKER_06]: But not because of anything that I've done, it was our past.
- 1:25:21[SPEAKER_06]: And it took me matured to understand that in our mind, she can't kick out the fact that she's had other men
- 1:25:32[SPEAKER_06]: at this way, and especially if she looks at me as, man, this is a catch, this is something good.
- 1:25:37[SPEAKER_06]: She can't just turn it all, like, oh, I, this is what I trust.
- 1:25:41[SPEAKER_06]: And I had to understand, well, we used to but it's all the time, but I'm like, I mean, I haven't even done nothing yet for you to act like this, but I had to mature to say, you've experienced this, so, this is where we are.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_06]: No, the conversation we don't have for us.
- 1:25:57[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, we don't.
- 1:25:58[SPEAKER_09]: And that's the land that needs to be talked about, especially from Mary, from Mary men, too.
- 1:26:05[SPEAKER_09]: Like, I don't want to say that the unmarried is unqualified to be speaking on it.
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_09]: But like, there's Mary guys that can take you down through there if we was to really get in that bank per second.
- 1:26:17[SPEAKER_09]: I'm saying it so, but I love that perspective that it was your wife had to overcome.
- 1:26:23[SPEAKER_09]: what she was dealing with, not necessarily something you, that's a real different perspective in terms of how it was put.
- 1:26:29[SPEAKER_09]: But I think too, I think, not only my wife trusting me, but my wife, knowing like, I'm so locked in on an empire we built in.
- 1:26:41[SPEAKER_09]: I don't even got time to be foolin' off with nothing else.
- 1:26:46[SPEAKER_09]: Like, one thing about operating your purpose, it will give you
- 1:26:51[SPEAKER_09]: something that's they locked into.
- 1:26:53[SPEAKER_09]: So, therefore, your time, your energy, your effort is all contingent upon, how can I get better?
- 1:27:00[SPEAKER_09]: How can we get more people?
- 1:27:02[SPEAKER_09]: How can we serve more people?
- 1:27:04[SPEAKER_09]: How can we bless more people?
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_09]: When you operate like that, you ain't even got time to be cheating.
- 1:27:09[SPEAKER_09]: You ain't got time to be doing that, man.
- 1:27:11[SPEAKER_09]: And so, that's the thing I see too.
- 1:27:13[SPEAKER_09]: Most guys, they ain't.
- 1:27:15[SPEAKER_09]: locked into their purpose, they stray.
- 1:27:20[SPEAKER_09]: And that's when they fall victim to lust, temptation, and everything goes.
- 1:27:25[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, right, you know what I'd be wanting to ask.
- 1:27:28[SPEAKER_06]: Somebody guessed this, these questions.
- 1:27:29[SPEAKER_06]: They're my first time having this conversation, but I'll have to hold back because I don't know what there is just gonna be.
- 1:27:39[SPEAKER_06]: what they already did that would like bring up something but I felt comfortable having a conversation with you because it's like something told me that this is a good human all around yeah not just on social media or YouTube yeah but even in the house yeah man I say I'm
- 1:28:01[SPEAKER_09]: care to across the board.
- 1:28:04[SPEAKER_09]: You ain't gonna find no stand on my name.
- 1:28:06[SPEAKER_09]: You ain't messed over, nobody ain't scam, nobody ain't.
- 1:28:11[SPEAKER_09]: They're wrong about like, it means too much to me.
- 1:28:14[SPEAKER_09]: The same principle I told you about, make sure your spirits are like, phone points, your financial life phone points, your emotional life, your mental health.
- 1:28:21[SPEAKER_09]: You make all of those things, it's true for me, too.
- 1:28:24[SPEAKER_09]: Like, I'm a guy, like, I ain't just on point with the finances.
- 1:28:29[SPEAKER_09]: I'm on point when my spiritual life.
- 1:28:30[SPEAKER_09]: I'm on point when my physical health.
- 1:28:32[SPEAKER_09]: I'm on point like, so there's a lot to be inside my circle because from accountability standpoint, I might be like, man, you gotta tighten up.
- 1:28:41[SPEAKER_09]: You're killing it right there, but we gotta pick it up over here.
- 1:28:46[SPEAKER_09]: Then I'm standing because I'm striving myself to be good in all those areas.
- 1:28:50[SPEAKER_09]: A lot of people,
- 1:28:51[SPEAKER_09]: comfortable and content would only be good in one or two areas.
- 1:28:55[SPEAKER_09]: And I'm looking like if I'm your friend, we want to elevate and be good in all those areas.
- 1:29:00[SPEAKER_06]: Incredible, Chris.
- 1:29:01[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you so much, man.
- 1:29:03[SPEAKER_06]: I appreciate this conversation.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you for having the conversation with me.
- 1:29:07[SPEAKER_06]: I don't take it lightly because I'm sure platform for each out to you all the time.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_06]: Like, yeah, we want you on.
- 1:29:13[SPEAKER_06]: And I appreciate you coming on to feed the people once you gave a
- 1:29:18[SPEAKER_06]: the whole meal today on various topics, and I thought that was really, really dope, and I just don't take it lightly in, you know, supporting the initiatives that I have going down.
- 1:29:28[SPEAKER_06]: I just really appreciate it.
- 1:29:29[SPEAKER_06]: It means a whole lot.
- 1:29:30[SPEAKER_09]: Thank you for having me as well, man.
- 1:29:32[SPEAKER_09]: It was honor and a privilege.
- 1:29:33[SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
- 1:29:34[SPEAKER_06]: So, tell everybody how they can connect with you, because I will, I'm 100% going to be on that money team, but let everybody know how they can join you, and then leave us what a word it was.
- 1:29:44[SPEAKER_09]: I always say Chris saying real name, no gimmicks.
