- Lucas: Welkom terug bij Learn Dutch with Fexingo! Dit is aflevering 26. Ik ben Lucas. Luna: En ik ben Luna. Hey Lucas, I'm so ready for today. Last episode we went to the supermarket, right? Lucas: That's right. You learned to ask 'Ik zoek de melk' and 'Hoeveel kost dit?' Good stuff. Luna: Yeah, it helped me actually. But today I'm craving something sweet. Can we do a bakery? Lucas: Perfect timing. A Dutch bakery — or 'bakkerij' — is a wonderful place. Let's learn a few phrases to order. Luna: Awesome. So what's the first thing I'd say? Lucas: Well, you walk in and you see all the bread and pastries. You might say: 'Ik wil graag een broodje.' Let's break it down. Luna: Okay. Lucas: 'Ik wil graag' — that's 'I would like'. And 'een broodje' — 'a sandwich' or 'a bread roll'. So: 'Ik wil graag een broodje.' Luna: Ik wil graag een broodje. Lucas: Excellent. Your pronunciation is spot on. Try it once more. Luna: Ik wil graag een broodje. Lucas: Perfect. Now imagine you want something specific, like apple pie. You ask: 'Heeft u appeltaart?' That means 'Do you have apple pie?' Luna: Heeft u appeltaart? Hmm, 'heeft u' is 'do you have', right? Like formal? Lucas: Exactly. It's the polite form. 'Heeft u appeltaart?' Let's hear you. Luna: Heeft u appeltaart? Lucas: Yes. Good. Now what if you want a croissant? Luna: Oh, I love croissants. Um... 'Mag ik een croissant?' Lucas: Yes. 'Mag ik een croissant?' — 'May I have a croissant?' Try it. Luna: Mag ik een croissant? Lucas: Perfect. Now after you order everything, you might say: 'Dat is alles.' That means 'That's all.' Luna: Dat is alles. Easy. So I'd say that after listing my items? Lucas: Exactly. Then the baker will tell you the total, and you ask: 'Hoeveel kost dat?' — 'How much does that cost?' We learned that at the supermarket, remember? Luna: Yeah, I remember. Hoeveel kost dat? Lucas: Great. Let's put it all together in a little scene. I'll be the baker. Luna: Okay, here goes. Goedemorgen! Lucas: Goedemorgen! Wat wil je? Luna: Ik wil graag een broodje. Lucas: En verder? Luna: Heeft u appeltaart? Lucas: Ja, natuurlijk. Wil je een stuk? Luna: Ja, graag. En mag ik een croissant? Lucas: Zeker. Dat is dan... een broodje, een appeltaart, een croissant. Dat is alles? Luna: Dat is alles. Hoeveel kost dat? Lucas: Dat is zes euro vijftig. Luna: Wow, I did it. That felt real. Lucas: You did great. And you used all five phrases naturally. Luna: Let's go through them once more quickly? Lucas: Sure. First: 'Ik wil graag een broodje.' Luna: Ik wil graag een broodje. Lucas: Second: 'Heeft u appeltaart?' Luna: Heeft u appeltaart? Lucas: Third: 'Mag ik een croissant?' Luna: Mag ik een croissant? Lucas: Fourth: 'Dat is alles.' Luna: Dat is alles. Lucas: And fifth: 'Hoeveel kost dat?' Luna: Hoeveel kost dat? Lucas: Perfect. Now you can walk into any Dutch bakery and order like a champ. Luna: I'm actually excited to try this. Thanks Lucas. Lucas: My pleasure. Remember, practice makes progress. And if you want more, check out Fexingo for more lessons. Luna: Tot ziens, iedereen! Lucas: Doei doei!
