- 0:01Speaker 1: So since there's like a stream running through, that's going
- 0:04Speaker 1: to be carrying some energy, right, and not to mention
- 0:09Speaker 1: like all the marble and like limestone and crystals and
- 0:12Speaker 1: stuff in the cave like that shit holds onto energy too.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's true, speaking of holding onto energy, it's temper some
- 0:21Speaker 1: spooky stuff.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Oh, so this is where we learn that everything is
- 0:27Speaker 2: haunted forever.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Everything is haunted forever. And Hi Caitlin, Hi Cassie. Hi
- 0:43Speaker 1: creepy people, helly if you're new to a creepy corner
- 0:48Speaker 1: of the world. This is PNW Haunts and Homicides where
- 0:51Speaker 1: we chat about true crime, the paranormal, and all things
- 0:56Speaker 1: creepy spooky in the Pacific Northwest.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And also bats and also bats. We also do a
- 1:06Speaker 2: terror reading in every episode for a little bit of
- 1:09Speaker 2: deeper insight into our topic. Is our topic bats, I
- 1:14Speaker 2: was just gonna say. And sometimes also bats. We just
- 1:20Speaker 2: really like bats. Maybe we're feeling it, Okay, my episode
- 1:27Speaker 2: we have bats.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It's kind of funny because on my from my angle
- 1:31Speaker 1: of you, it's just a little bat wings poken up
- 1:34Speaker 1: over your head. Oh really, it looks like you should
- 1:39Speaker 1: I take a picture of bat girl? Yeah? Is it Halloween.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It feels like Halloween. I like got really excited, got
- 1:48Speaker 1: vibe in the mood. But like I'm also kind of
- 1:53Speaker 1: feeling the summer vibe lately with my episodes. You know,
- 1:57Speaker 1: last time we went hiking and the crew Redwood Forest
- 2:02Speaker 1: that we did a real PNW summer nature adventure naked
- 2:09Speaker 1: bike rides. Not this summer. I was gonna say, actually,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I'm like really sad news about that it got canceled.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It's really sad. I don't know why, though, Oh well
- 2:23Speaker 1: I'll tell you I have news tell them yea, so
- 2:27Speaker 1: tho it's not it. Well, some people might have bat
- 2:30Speaker 1: wings flopping around while they're naked. I don't know that's fair.
- 2:34Speaker 1: The Portland World Naked Bike Ride has been canceled this
- 2:39Speaker 1: year due to lack of volunteers because it's it's huge,
- 2:46Speaker 1: like they have a ton of people. It's like the
- 2:48Speaker 1: only time you can be naked in public and people
- 2:51Speaker 1: are into it, so they need like a lot of
- 2:54Speaker 1: volunteers to you know, obviously I heard they didn't have enough.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So this is a call to action. Get your all's
- 3:06Speaker 1: creepy naked butts out next year and volunteer for the
- 3:09Speaker 1: Naked bike ride, so we can go.
- 3:13Speaker 2: As volunteers who will be fully close.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Do you think we should volunteer? I wonder if the
- 3:21Speaker 1: volunteers are they naked too. I mean, you don't have
- 3:25Speaker 1: to be naked. It's like, yeah, but I wonder, M Well,
- 3:32Speaker 1: everyone volunteer because I would like to see this happen again. Okay, Well,
- 3:36Speaker 1: unfortunately this episode is not all about the naked bike ride.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I was wondering. I know, I just saw the news
- 3:44Speaker 1: and I had to bring it up. Yeah, it's newsworthy.
- 3:47Speaker 3: It is.
- 3:49Speaker 1: As hard as I try to, I couldn't find any
- 3:52Speaker 1: creepy stories involving a traveling massive nudity. It's just like
- 3:56Speaker 1: there wasn't anything there, Okay, because like no one, there's
- 4:02Speaker 1: no like creepy naked dude stories.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I was like, huh interesting, Okay, I see where you're going.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I see, I see now, Okay, I didn't actually look
- 4:12Speaker 1: for those. Hopefully no one is creepy at the naked mic, right,
- 4:15Speaker 1: I think everyone is.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I My head immediately went to naked.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Ghost, scared sheetless.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yeah, the naked ghost scared sheetless.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That was what Beetle Juice is going to be called.
- 4:33Speaker 1: This was not planned, y'all. There you go. I'm wearing
- 4:38Speaker 1: never Trust the Living shirt, which is from Beetle Juice. Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 1: but it had bats and like lanterns on it. It's perfect.
- 4:45Speaker 1: So it reminded me of what we're going to talk
- 4:47Speaker 1: about today, which I almost gave away, which I didn't
- 4:49Speaker 1: mean to. Ooh, I guess lanterns is another clue. Okay,
- 4:54Speaker 1: let's move on before you guess. Okay, so we did
- 4:58Speaker 1: the nature thing with the redwoods, and now we need
- 5:01Speaker 1: some adventure in our summer. Right, Yes, did I say
- 5:07Speaker 1: naked or nature? You said nature? Okay? I think I
- 5:13Speaker 1: like a replay in my head of me saying okay,
- 5:17Speaker 1: so we did the naked thing in the redwoods, but
- 5:19Speaker 1: I think I said nature.
- 5:22Speaker 2: This is that moment when I want to go roll
- 5:26Speaker 2: that beautiful bean footage.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Well, if I said naked, it'll be funny. I'm not
- 5:32Speaker 1: redoing it. It's fun for everyone. I think, Well, we're
- 5:36Speaker 1: gonna have some more fun. So let's go potholding, you guys. Potholing? Yeah, potholing.
- 5:44Speaker 1: You don't know what that is? My throat did that weird?
- 5:49Speaker 2: And I'm like.
- 5:52Speaker 1: It came from the pothole?
- 5:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Oops? Okay, that's what they call it in the UK
- 5:59Speaker 1: and Ireland. Okay, here we call it splunking.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Oh my god, like as it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Like what like the the cave thing. I can't make
- 6:13Speaker 1: words now, yeah, cave caveploring. I can't exploring.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's like heights but also confined spaces.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And dark have to be hyped and it's just exploring
- 6:27Speaker 1: a cave. Okay. Obviously people do extreme stuff like you know,
- 6:34Speaker 1: like the diving down into the cave and crazy squeezing
- 6:38Speaker 1: and shit. But you don't have to do that, but
- 6:41Speaker 1: wre caves don't. But you can but don't. So two
- 6:47Speaker 1: hundred and ninety three miles south of Portland, Oregon, almost
- 6:50Speaker 1: to the border of California. Ooh hey girl, longtime no party. Yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 1: on Caves Highway and the town of Cave Function.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Okay, well that feels a little heavy handed if I'm
- 7:04Speaker 2: being on.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Where are we going? Is the Oregon Caves National Monument.
- 7:11Speaker 1: It's actually just one cave, but it's like but a
- 7:14Speaker 1: bunch of tunnels down there, but they call it caves. Okay.
- 7:18Speaker 1: There are one hundred and thirty three national monuments in
- 7:21Speaker 1: the US. I had to look it up because I
- 7:23Speaker 1: was like, oh, like, how special is this national monument thing?
- 7:27Speaker 1: And it turns out it's pretty special. Yeah. Yeah, so
- 7:30Speaker 1: it's a pretty good thing preserves the cave. The cave's
- 7:34Speaker 1: first recorded discovery was in eighteen seventy four by a
- 7:38Speaker 1: man and his dog, Elijah and Bruce, which ones which.
- 7:45Speaker 2: That's what I was just thinking.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Bruce is a dog.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that makes sense.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Isn't Elijah a cute name for dog? Though it would be?
- 7:55Speaker 1: I know, I kind of want a dog now, yeah,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Oh I don't. I mean I do.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I actually tried to convince Chris to pull over on
- 8:05Speaker 2: the side of the road the other day because we saw.
- 8:07Speaker 1: A bunny, wild bunny.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I don't know if it's wild, but it was. It
- 8:15Speaker 2: wasn't wearing a collar.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Let's put it that way. Okay. Sticky up ears are floppies,
- 8:20Speaker 1: a little sticky up Oh that's a wild bunny.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Well okay, I mean not necessarily. Lots of bunnies have
- 8:27Speaker 2: sticky up ears.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It's my fault that we had the hole of loops
- 8:32Speaker 2: growing up. Listen, I'm still mad because he said we
- 8:36Speaker 2: would go get the bunny today and we didn't.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You can't bunny wants to be wild.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Okay, well, I've already tried to convince him to bring
- 8:46Speaker 2: home a coyote. I thought that the bunny was a
- 8:49Speaker 2: pretty good compromise.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You should get a new cat and it'll be like
- 8:54Speaker 1: a raccoon, and then everyone in our household die. So
- 9:01Speaker 1: this is kind of a crazy story, all right, I
- 9:05Speaker 1: will link it. Someone wrote out like a little story
- 9:08Speaker 1: about what happened to him, So it's pretty cool but interesting.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I'll kind of summarize it for you, all right. So
- 9:15Speaker 1: Brucey technically was the one who found the cave. They
- 9:21Speaker 1: were hunting in the Siscu Mountains. They had a camp
- 9:26Speaker 1: with a bunch of other people who are also hunting,
- 9:28Speaker 1: but they went off on their own and Bruce goes
- 9:32Speaker 1: sniffing off doing dog things, you know how they do.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Oh right, I forgot Bruce is Bruce is the dog? Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 2: I'm like Bruce, he's a man. Elijah's the maya, Okay.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And Elijah realizes that the dog isn't close by, but
- 9:48Speaker 1: he can hear him barking, so he goes off to
- 9:50Speaker 1: try to find him so they can head back. And
- 9:54Speaker 1: so here's him barking in the distance. He goes toward
- 9:56Speaker 1: the sound, and soon he comes upon a street and
- 10:01Speaker 1: it's flowing from a dark opening in the rocks. And
- 10:05Speaker 1: he here's the dog barking again. Oh, and it sounds
- 10:09Speaker 1: like it's from deep inside where the stream is coming
- 10:14Speaker 1: from out of these rocks. Oh boy, But he also
- 10:20Speaker 1: this is crazy, but he also hears something else inside.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It's a freaking bear. He hears a bear growling inside
- 10:31Speaker 1: in his dog barking. And then I think at one
- 10:34Speaker 1: point the dog like whimper, like wines.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Oh no, Bruce, yes, so obviously it's not going great
- 10:42Speaker 2: for Bruce.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Well, before that, let me just say we officially have
- 10:46Speaker 1: a bear theme. We really do. Like what's going on.
- 10:51Speaker 1: It's so weird.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I think we've established women are team Bear,
- 10:56Speaker 2: that's right, And we talked about bear in the last episode.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Even Oh my gosh, it's so funny dean Bear. Oh,
- 11:03Speaker 2: this gets even weirder. But so this saint of a man.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Of course he has to go after his dog. Saint
- 11:11Speaker 2: of a man. I think that's the bare minimum. But
- 11:14Speaker 2: how the bare minimum get it? But he's crawling into
- 11:18Speaker 2: this dark hole in rocks where there's a stream. So
- 11:24Speaker 2: it's like it's not just of course he goes after
- 11:27Speaker 2: his dog, but like that's risky for your own life, right, Yeah,
- 11:32Speaker 2: So he goes into this bear apartment and he proceeds
- 11:39Speaker 2: to get lost and also runs out of matches, which
- 11:46Speaker 2: were the only light he had.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Okay, it's like nightmares literal.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but like, why are we not traveling? Okay, I
- 11:58Speaker 2: guess it's probably daylight seventy four?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Oh shit. Yeah yeah, and he wasn't expecting to go
- 12:05Speaker 1: into a cave. He's out hunting his campus somewhere nearby,
- 12:10Speaker 1: but the unexpected had damn it, Bruce, Just look what
- 12:14Speaker 1: you've done. Bruce is in the bear apartment just, which is.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Kind of like my apartment. When you come into any
- 12:25Speaker 2: room unexpectedly, you could be mulled.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I didn't see you coming, and yeah earlier I shared earlier.
- 12:34Speaker 1: You were welcome though, Yeah, but I didn't get screamed up.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I did scream like at her, but no, like it
- 12:44Speaker 2: doesn't sound like a bear. No, sounded like a twinkie
- 12:50Speaker 2: if a twinkie could scream.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Okay, so where was I? He ran on matches, so
- 13:02Speaker 1: he used to start crawling on the ground because it's
- 13:05Speaker 1: so treacherous in there that he can't like just blindly
- 13:09Speaker 1: walk right, You're gonna trick, You're gonna step in a hole,
- 13:12Speaker 1: You're gonna probably maybe fall even off a cliff. You
- 13:14Speaker 1: don't know what's in there. I really hate that. Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So he had a crawl in his hands and knees
- 13:19Speaker 1: and obviously freaking like what hurt? And that sucks? Yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 1: that sucks a lot. But by some sort of cave
- 13:29Speaker 1: angel miracle, he found the stream again, which he knew
- 13:35Speaker 1: let out of the cave, so he knew if you
- 13:38Speaker 1: just followed that stream, he would be okay. And then
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm like, wait, is a cave angel a bat? Yeah?
- 13:46Speaker 1: I think? Yeah, I think so. I think the bats
- 13:49Speaker 1: saved him. He did. I had a visual of like
- 13:54Speaker 1: the bats like picking him up and like flying him
- 13:57Speaker 1: out of the door. The cas feel a lot about
- 14:01Speaker 1: it would be like the balloon house and up, let's
- 14:08Speaker 1: redo up with that and make it like a spooky house.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I kind of like it. He spent three hours lost
- 14:19Speaker 1: in the cave great, which like it doesn't seem like
- 14:22Speaker 1: that long, which he did. Get pretty lucky and eternity. Yes, yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 1: if you're in there lost and you don't know where
- 14:29Speaker 1: you're at. That's a really long time.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Three hours, I would have several strokes.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but it wasn't like days, you know, Like he
- 14:40Speaker 1: didn't get lost down there for for that long and
- 14:44Speaker 1: the bear didn't find him, so that was also okay.
- 14:46Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean great, great so far.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Well, the cave angels also looked out for our boy
- 14:54Speaker 1: Bruce too. Thank god. He came limping out of the
- 14:57Speaker 1: cave after his daddy. He did have some cuts, but
- 15:02Speaker 1: he he was okay. They were able to heal him
- 15:05Speaker 1: up back at camp. Oh so, back at camp, he
- 15:11Speaker 1: told them the story and no one really believed him. Okay,
- 15:16Speaker 1: so he took one of them back. The next day,
- 15:20Speaker 1: they find the cave again and they see the bear
- 15:25Speaker 1: shut them outside the Yeah, so the friend is like, oh, like, okay,
- 15:32Speaker 1: you weren't lying.
- 15:34Speaker 2: They thought he was lying about there being a bear.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I mean, it's a crazy story. I okay, went and
- 15:41Speaker 1: found a cave and there was a bear. I don't know.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I mean, bears love caves. From what I understand, this.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Guy lied a lot. I don't know Elijah's life, but.
- 15:51Speaker 2: They didn't really say in like, there were a lot
- 15:54Speaker 2: more bears back then.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, maybe it was just a
- 15:59Speaker 1: good story to say that they don't believe them. That okay,
- 16:04Speaker 1: that makes sense. Well either way, they shoot the bear,
- 16:09Speaker 1: and now we're back to where other theme of bear hunting. Okay, right,
- 16:13Speaker 1: what I don't know? I don't know.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Okay, well what caliber did they decide to shoot the bear?
- 16:21Speaker 1: I don't have any fucking clues?
- 16:23Speaker 2: Oh okay, Well when I find out what the bear
- 16:26Speaker 2: does next, that will tell me.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Well, they killed the bear. Okay, it's dead. It's a
- 16:31Speaker 1: dead bear, all right.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, so they had like a shotgun?
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah, probably, I mean we thought they're hunting like big animals.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I think so. I think it was yeah, all right, yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 1: so they were solid. Everyone was fine after that. And
- 16:45Speaker 1: then the mountain where Elijah found this cave is now
- 16:49Speaker 1: called Mount Elijah. I wish they named mountains after me.
- 16:53Speaker 1: You gotta find caves in them in eighteen ninety four
- 16:56Speaker 1: or whenever the fuck I said. This is from NPS,
- 16:59Speaker 1: to which I think is National Park Service. That sounds correct.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I also meant to say dot gov, NPS, dot gov.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Oh yes, what did you say the first time?
- 17:11Speaker 4: Oh?
- 17:12Speaker 1: NPS? Dot gov? All right? Quote eons of acidic water
- 17:19Speaker 1: seeping into marble rock created and decorated. The wondrous Marble
- 17:24Speaker 1: Halls of Oregon is a nickname for the cave because
- 17:30Speaker 1: the cave was formed in the limestone that has turned
- 17:34Speaker 1: into marble due to a process called metamorphism.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Isn't that cool?
- 17:40Speaker 1: I had no idea. I love that. I was just like,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I don't know marble's marble. Yeah I didn't. It used
- 17:45Speaker 1: to be limestone. Okay, marble facts. I knew you would
- 17:51Speaker 1: like it. I picked it for you too. We love
- 17:54Speaker 1: marble so much here more like kind of obsessed. You
- 17:59Speaker 1: didn't even know it with limestone. Now call yourself a
- 18:03Speaker 1: marble fan. Yeah, I feel like kind of a poser
- 18:07Speaker 1: you are.
- 18:09Speaker 2: That's like when somebody's like, oh you like that band
- 18:12Speaker 2: and three songs?
- 18:13Speaker 1: Right?
- 18:14Speaker 2: Wow? Wow.
- 18:19Speaker 1: The cave reaches about fifteen thousand feet underground. That's too many.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It's full of stal like tights and stalag mites. You
- 18:30Speaker 1: remember those from school? So pretty?
- 18:34Speaker 2: You know, those drippy down e in the caves.
- 18:37Speaker 1: There's one I want.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I want to like Titus like mite.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah, one gross from the ceiling, one gross from the floor.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Don't ask, I'm just.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Saying like I want one like right here.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah, like if we could just have one of like Marble.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I mean Marble's like all well and good and everything,
- 18:56Speaker 2: but I want like the drippy thing.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, so mysterious. Also, you know it's down
- 19:02Speaker 1: in caves. Who knows what kind of creepy crawley I
- 19:06Speaker 1: was gonna.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Say something gross And and fats, there's so many bats
- 19:13Speaker 2: in caves.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Bets are so cute.
- 19:15Speaker 2: But I would probably fully piss my pants if I
- 19:20Speaker 2: came into contact with the bat sky puppies. They're so cute,
- 19:24Speaker 2: but like if they're flying like into you and you're like,
- 19:27Speaker 2: a are you a meito? I mean, I'm very attractive.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Apparently my blood is delicious. Just call me Bella.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Well, it's a bad apartment too. It's not just a
- 19:44Speaker 1: bare apartment. Actually, it's probably more like a bat dorm.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Oh I like that bat frat, Yeah, frat.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I like it.
- 19:56Speaker 1: But there's some important bat information on the website NPS
- 20:01Speaker 1: dot org dot gov because so it says NPS dot
- 20:05Speaker 1: gov slash orca. I think that's where I'm getting. No,
- 20:09Speaker 1: that would fuck me up. It would fuck me up
- 20:12Speaker 1: so hard. I'm gonna quote again from NPS dot gov.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Help save our bets, Help.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Save our bets, Save the bat.
- 20:22Speaker 1: North America's bats are under attack from white nose syndrome.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Let's sell bat disease. Oh and to prevent the spread,
- 20:32Speaker 1: please do not bring clothes, even washed clothes, shoes, or
- 20:36Speaker 1: equipment used in any any used in any other cave, mine,
- 20:42Speaker 1: or any other bat habitat. So just like if you're
- 20:47Speaker 1: going from cave to caves blunking around, just have different clothes.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Don't even if they're washed.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah, even if they're washed, I guess they still can
- 20:57Speaker 1: have stuff on them. WHOA, Yeah, I don't know. It's
- 21:02Speaker 1: really sad. I don't want the baths today. We don't
- 21:06Speaker 1: like what are we going to do, like, I don't know,
- 21:09Speaker 1: be eaten the pollinators. There are a few tours you
- 21:14Speaker 1: can take in the cave. There's Discovery Cave Tour, Twist
- 21:21Speaker 1: Stoop and discover the Dark Depths with a guide, so
- 21:27Speaker 1: you'll have a guide. I was like dark Depth. I
- 21:29Speaker 1: thought you were going to just say guy for a second,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and I was like with a guy his name, Like
- 21:36Speaker 1: why the emphasis just one guy? One guy? I have
- 21:40Speaker 1: a couple of different tour guides just one guy. It
- 21:43Speaker 1: is actually like a ranger tour guide too, so it's
- 21:46Speaker 1: not it's not just like a random kid like taking
- 21:50Speaker 1: you through a dangerous cave. It's like an actual ranger.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Okay, okay, yeah, that's feel safer. That's the tour I
- 21:57Speaker 2: want to take.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Well, this next one is the tour I want to
- 22:00Speaker 1: take candlelight cave tour. And they've done a haunted one too.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It was like in twenty fifteen that I found, so
- 22:07Speaker 1: I don't know if they if they still do anything
- 22:09Speaker 1: like that, but they do a candlelight cave candle light.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I want to. I want to sell dow
- 22:17Speaker 1: the how you go through with your candle I got I.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Do, but I trip over my own feet.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Like, maybe you're not the person who would go on
- 22:27Speaker 1: the candle light. She's like, you're not invited, you dumb bitch.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Maybe if you trip on things, you shouldn't walk around
- 22:35Speaker 1: in a dark cave with a candle with fire.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Wow, so able ast you guys.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Also, if you're going with kids and stuff, they do
- 22:48Speaker 1: have a kids and family tour. Oh it's easier.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I assume I can't do that one either, But they
- 22:55Speaker 2: also if.
- 22:55Speaker 1: You really like adventure. You can go on the off
- 22:58Speaker 1: Trail caving tour, squeeze through tight spaces, crawl on your belly,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and explore the deepest depths. Echo. I would not go
- 23:15Speaker 1: on that. I'm not that adventurous to I don't want
- 23:19Speaker 1: to squeeze. Yeah, I don't know squeezing. I'm okay with
- 23:24Speaker 1: spiders and creepy crawleys, now, I don't want to know
- 23:28Speaker 1: who's past them or touch the rush up. Yeah, I'm
- 23:31Speaker 1: good with them. No.
- 23:33Speaker 2: And then I've also heard I'm gonna have to look
- 23:38Speaker 2: up the name and information and everything about the spelunking case.
- 23:45Speaker 2: But there was somebody who really sadly died in a cave.
- 23:50Speaker 1: That happens a lot. Yeah, it's awful and scary and
- 23:55Speaker 1: it's not good. There is also lodging at the Oregon
- 23:59Speaker 1: Caves National Monument called the Chateau Ooh. While the Caves
- 24:06Speaker 1: are still open, the Chateau has been closed since twenty
- 24:09Speaker 1: eighteen for reconstructions and renovations. They ran into some pretty
- 24:17Speaker 1: big structural issues when they started renovating, and much more
- 24:23Speaker 1: than they anticipated needed to be done, meaning a much
- 24:30Speaker 1: much much larger budget. Oh that is it's not there.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Also, interest rates are really high for what for everything? Oh,
- 24:42Speaker 2: interest rates are high if you need to borrow money,
- 24:45Speaker 2: Oh for bar?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, for like you're like, for what room. I
- 24:50Speaker 1: don't buy a hotel. I don't feel like, are they
- 24:53Speaker 1: charging into on our hotel? Roots? Yeah, Like they had
- 24:59Speaker 1: a I think like tax money, you know, for rebuilding
- 25:05Speaker 1: like a historic place. Oh sure, I'm pretty sure they
- 25:07Speaker 1: had like a bludget for that, but it just it
- 25:10Speaker 1: ended up funding. Yeah, it ended up just not being
- 25:13Speaker 1: enough for what needs to be done boo. So they
- 25:16Speaker 1: had to stop construction last March. And I think they
- 25:21Speaker 1: were planning when they closed in twenty eighteen, they were
- 25:23Speaker 1: planning to reopen I think in twenty twenty three or
- 25:27Speaker 1: twenty I can't remember one of those, but they were
- 25:30Speaker 1: planning to reopen pretty soon. Yeah, but they just ran
- 25:34Speaker 1: out of funds last year. Oh nice. So they are
- 25:38Speaker 1: currently raising funds to finish the project so they can
- 25:42Speaker 1: reopen the beloved beloved belove that's beloved and historic work. Oh.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I like that. I didn't mean to do that.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Belove it beloved, this beloved lodge. My brain really loves that.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, like, why use many words when we've
- 26:03Speaker 1: established I am Kevin.
- 26:06Speaker 2: In the best way possible.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Just wait, I will get you with the chili one day.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Oh I love a good chili on your floor.
- 26:15Speaker 1: That's what I thought. She's like on your wedding dress.
- 26:21Speaker 1: So there is a website. It's like Friends of the
- 26:25Speaker 1: Chateau or Friends of the organ Case or something. I'll
- 26:28Speaker 1: link it. But they're the ones who are like helping
- 26:32Speaker 1: raise the funds, doing all the things. The website's awesome.
- 26:36Speaker 1: They have a place to donate just money. They have
- 26:39Speaker 1: a place where you can like volunteer. You can volunteer,
- 26:43Speaker 1: you can like sponsor one of their chairs. They have
- 26:47Speaker 1: like really historic old furniture and they've lost a bunch
- 26:52Speaker 1: of them in a flood. No. Yeah, so they're like
- 26:56Speaker 1: reconstructing them, making like finding other ones, rebuilding some. But
- 27:01Speaker 1: you can sponsor one and then you will get like
- 27:03Speaker 1: your plaque on it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: That's so cool.
- 27:06Speaker 1: They have a bunch of different ways that you can support. Obviously,
- 27:09Speaker 1: we've donated because we have to. We're talking about it.
- 27:14Speaker 1: We have to link all the things. So please donate
- 27:17Speaker 1: if you want, and or if you can, if you want,
- 27:21Speaker 1: if you can, if you can, and if you won't,
- 27:24Speaker 1: so we can all go and stay at this picturesque
- 27:28Speaker 1: six story lodge with twenty three rooms, a fine dining
- 27:34Speaker 1: with views over a wooded canyon, and a nineteen thirties
- 27:40Speaker 1: era coffee shop. Like I need that coffee shop back.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I need it.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I've never been there, but I like really need to go.
- 27:47Speaker 1: But I need it. And I think it was like
- 27:50Speaker 1: nineteen thirties because it was built in the thirties. You know,
- 27:53Speaker 1: it's not like they made it themed the thirties, get
- 27:56Speaker 1: their friends the thirties. Yeah, let's just win it existed.
- 28:02Speaker 1: And if you know, if they don't rebuild this stuff,
- 28:05Speaker 1: it's just going to turn into a creepy, dilapidated old building.
- 28:09Speaker 1: And as much as I really love those, I really do,
- 28:14Speaker 1: but I hate to see this place end up that way.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Yeah, something historic that easily could be saved.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know about easily. It's a lot of money,
- 28:25Speaker 1: you guys. It easily could be saved. Okay, Yeah, I hope.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I hope. So, like I'm hoping even if they raise
- 28:32Speaker 1: the money that like they can fix the things that
- 28:36Speaker 1: are wrong in there, because they Yeah, and I think
- 28:39Speaker 1: they need to like update it for like earthquakes and
- 28:41Speaker 1: stuff too, which that's really important. Oh seismic, Yeah, yeah,
- 28:45Speaker 1: seismic upgrades.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Are no joke.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Well, and the tough thing is, I will say this,
- 28:53Speaker 2: even in buildings where you don't have to upgrade the
- 28:58Speaker 2: building itself for seismic, the city of Portland and the
- 29:04Speaker 2: state of Oregon in general is very strict and.
- 29:09Speaker 1: They had new they added new laws. That's one of
- 29:12Speaker 1: the things they said.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Aside from the eventual finished product, during construction, if part
- 29:22Speaker 2: of the building is habitated, it needs to be up
- 29:27Speaker 2: to the new standards in a lot of situations, so
- 29:32Speaker 2: that is really expensive for you know, temporary structures, temporary
- 29:42Speaker 2: features of the building that you know they're not quite
- 29:45Speaker 2: done with renovations. I've seen how this can impact other projects.
- 29:51Speaker 2: That's it's tough because you want buildings to be safe.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah. I can't just have this building, especially
- 29:59Speaker 1: where it that we'll get into like where how it's situated.
- 30:02Speaker 1: But and it's like above a cave, so yeah, you
- 30:07Speaker 1: kind of need the thing to be a little sturdy,
- 30:10Speaker 1: you know. I'd like it to be. Yeah, I would too,
- 30:13Speaker 1: because I like really need I want to go to there,
- 30:16Speaker 1: I want to go there. I actually try. Okay, so
- 30:20Speaker 1: my mom had been there before and I asked her
- 30:23Speaker 1: for pictures but she can't couldn't find them. And bringing
- 30:26Speaker 1: up my mom again. It's another theme name. So in
- 30:31Speaker 1: twenty twenty I was, you know, we were looking for
- 30:34Speaker 1: places to go. I think it was maybe it was
- 30:36Speaker 1: twenty twenty one. Yeah, it was after like the big shutdown.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It was when things were starting to open back up,
- 30:41Speaker 1: and I just wanted to go somewhere where it like
- 30:43Speaker 1: wasn't too crowded, it was outdoors. Yeah, and so I
- 30:46Speaker 1: was like, oh, I want to go to the Caves.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I've never been, Like look it up and I'm like.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 30:55Speaker 1: It was yeah yeah, and I was like, oh, it's
- 30:58Speaker 1: going to reopen. We're getting there, getting there, and then
- 31:01Speaker 1: I go look at it. Look it up, and I'm like, ah,
- 31:03Speaker 1: ship steem it. They're still not a bit sad. So anyway,
- 31:09Speaker 1: everyone donate, huh. The chateau was built in nineteen thirty four.
- 31:15Speaker 1: It is adjacent to the entrance of the Oregon Caves
- 31:18Speaker 1: National Monument, and it is a National Historic Landmark and
- 31:24Speaker 1: one of the National Park's Great Lodges. Oh, which, like
- 31:29Speaker 1: I didn't know that was a thing. That's kind of cool. Apparently,
- 31:33Speaker 1: like at the National Park places, they have like lodges
- 31:36Speaker 1: and they're called like the Great National Parks Great lodges. Yeah. Yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 1: So this building is built like off of a cliff.
- 31:47Speaker 1: So the front is three stories and then the backside
- 31:50Speaker 1: of the building is six stories. Oh boy. Or floors.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I don't know. Stories and floors are they the same
- 31:57Speaker 1: generally speaking? Yeah, floors, I don't know. Yeah. It was
- 32:01Speaker 1: built over the stream and it actually flows through the building.
- 32:06Speaker 1: It flows through the dining room.
- 32:09Speaker 2: That sounds so cool, But also I'm not so sure
- 32:14Speaker 2: that that's for me.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Why it's very the dining room is like super fancy.
- 32:22Speaker 1: It's it's not like it would be like a like
- 32:25Speaker 1: a bunch of water rushing through like a fancy place.
- 32:29Speaker 2: No, I'm sure, I'm sure, but I'm like, it's a
- 32:32Speaker 2: little intimidating.
- 32:33Speaker 1: It's a little bit like it's a stream. I think.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I don't think it's like whitewater rapids. Well, surely right now.
- 32:41Speaker 2: It's a stream, I know, but are waterways like they
- 32:46Speaker 2: changed over?
- 32:47Speaker 1: I don't know. This building was freaks me out a
- 32:50Speaker 1: little bit. It's nineteen thirty four and I don't think
- 32:52Speaker 1: they've had issues with it or I didn't read any though.
- 32:55Speaker 1: It sounds so cool, but I feel like it would
- 32:57Speaker 1: put me on edge. I don't know. I think it's
- 32:59Speaker 1: so cool.
- 33:00Speaker 2: It sounds so cool, like I want to go to there,
- 33:03Speaker 2: but I feel like there be a little part of
- 33:05Speaker 2: my lizard brain that would be a little bit scared.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And that's like the same stream that saved Elijah. So
- 33:11Speaker 1: like it's a good stream, you know, is probably cool.
- 33:14Speaker 4: It's like it's going to be chill, yeah, all right,
- 33:17Speaker 4: all right, So since there's like a stream running through,
- 33:21Speaker 4: that's going to be carrying some energy, right, and not
- 33:26Speaker 4: to mention like all the marble and like limestone and
- 33:29Speaker 4: crystals and stuff in the cave, like that shit holds
- 33:32Speaker 4: onto energy too.
- 33:34Speaker 1: It's true. Speaking of holding onto energy, it's time for
- 33:39Speaker 1: some spooky stuff. Oh so this is.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Where we learn that everything is haunted forever.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Everything is haunted forever. And okay, so isn't old wood
- 33:57Speaker 1: building the floors. Cree piping is loud, the wind kind
- 34:03Speaker 1: of whistles through the trees, and you know how it is,
- 34:05Speaker 1: it probably gets through the windows and the crevices of
- 34:08Speaker 1: the racks, making a bunch of noise everywhere, so noise safe.
- 34:13Speaker 1: So there's that kind of stuff going on. The staircases
- 34:16Speaker 1: and hallways are apparently narrow and dimly lit. It kind
- 34:21Speaker 1: of like kind of like the man Resa it's called
- 34:26Speaker 1: man Resa Castle that went to. Like the hallways and
- 34:29Speaker 1: stairways were like narrow, dimly lit, very creepy, yeah, spooky vibes.
- 34:36Speaker 1: And I read in one person's blog that there was
- 34:39Speaker 1: a random window to nowhere in the hallway ceiling. I'm
- 34:44Speaker 1: sorry what, Yeah, And I think it was like that
- 34:46Speaker 1: it must have been the top floor because it said
- 34:49Speaker 1: no light came from it, and it looked like it
- 34:51Speaker 1: was the attic, So like there was like a window
- 34:54Speaker 1: to the attic in the hallway ceiling. I don't know, yeah,
- 35:01Speaker 1: I also don't know, like they need more details. Is
- 35:04Speaker 1: this like maybe they were fixing something and so they
- 35:07Speaker 1: cut a hole out and it's like they put some
- 35:10Speaker 1: plexiglass over it that I don't know what.
- 35:14Speaker 2: That sounds like an unintentional skylight like right to the attic.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I don't I don't know, I don't know why. I
- 35:26Speaker 1: don't even know if this is true. It's just something
- 35:28Speaker 1: I read in someone's blog.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Well, I guess we have to go.
- 35:31Speaker 1: We have to go, we have to go. But what
- 35:34Speaker 1: if they fixed it? I want creepy windows into the attic?
- 35:38Speaker 1: God forbid. They do have one ghost, just like a
- 35:47Speaker 1: singular ghost, just one ghost, one ghost that is talked
- 35:54Speaker 1: about anyway. There might be other things around, but they're
- 35:56Speaker 1: not like really mentioned. I don't think, all right, And
- 36:02Speaker 1: like I said, every haunted place has to have this
- 36:07Speaker 1: one ghost or it just isn't haunted. And they listened. Okay,
- 36:13Speaker 1: this is a woman in white situation again, or some
- 36:18Speaker 1: people actually call her the blue lady, so I guess
- 36:20Speaker 1: she appears blue sometimes. Oh interesting, and no one actually
- 36:24Speaker 1: called her the woman in white. They just call her Elizabeth.
- 36:28Speaker 1: That's her name. It's just like this is like the
- 36:32Speaker 1: woman in white stereo. Do we know how she spells
- 36:35Speaker 1: Elizabeth normally the normal way, which is not Caitlin's middle name.
- 36:45Speaker 1: That's the normal way. Is your middle name spelled that way?
- 36:51Speaker 2: I don't know, because you won't tell me how it's spelled.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Oh how is yours? It's spelled Elizabeth? I don't know.
- 36:56Speaker 1: How do you spell Elizabeth differently than an z a Beth? Okay?
- 37:03Speaker 2: Some people spelt with an S instead of the Z.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Oh, I've never seen that before. Sorry, oh yeah, I
- 37:09Speaker 1: was a normal way.
- 37:11Speaker 2: I don't know, Like I was like, trust me, my
- 37:14Speaker 2: name is Elizabeth. I know that people spell it other ways.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I was like, this isn't a Caitlin situation, Like, I mean,
- 37:23Speaker 1: it isn't. I guess I've never seen Elizabeth fell.
- 37:28Speaker 2: That's like people have fully been like, oh, you spell
- 37:33Speaker 2: it that way, weird.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Elizabeth was on her honeymoon with her new husband on
- 37:39Speaker 1: her honeymoon on her honeymoon, god damn it in room
- 37:43Speaker 1: three ten of the chateau in the thirties. So like
- 37:47Speaker 1: right after they opened, on their wedding night, he got
- 37:51Speaker 1: into some shady shenanigans with the housekeeper. What yeah this
- 37:57Speaker 1: piece of shit wow? Or other things yeah, other other
- 38:06Speaker 1: other sad things. So she went looking for him because
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's like it's their wedding night, Like where did he go?
- 38:13Speaker 1: And she found them together, So like did he know
- 38:18Speaker 1: this housekeeper and like that's like why he wanted to
- 38:21Speaker 1: stay on his honeymoon there? Or was this just like
- 38:24Speaker 1: like I need something else to like stick my dick
- 38:26Speaker 1: in right now?
- 38:27Speaker 2: I mean, he's probably just a scoundrel, like it's.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Your honeymoon, you have like you have some that's what
- 38:32Speaker 1: they're there for. I mean, you have to do it
- 38:35Speaker 1: on your honeymoon. But like, yeah, I don't know. Yeah, no,
- 38:38Speaker 1: that's maybe she said, no, maybe she was tired and
- 38:40Speaker 1: he just went off and was a dick bag.
- 38:44Speaker 2: It's like an entire bag of dicks.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah wow, but yeah, that's awful. And obviously Elizabeth was
- 38:53Speaker 1: heartbroken and her life had just started, and she thought, like,
- 38:59Speaker 1: you know, since the beginning of my fucking life, and
- 39:01Speaker 1: then it got ripped away from her by such a dick.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I'm so frustrated by such a bag of dicks, even
- 39:10Speaker 2: though I know.
- 39:11Speaker 1: It's the legend. Ly I don't know, but still if
- 39:14Speaker 1: this happens, it would make me mad.
- 39:16Speaker 2: I feel like even if it didn't happen here and
- 39:22Speaker 2: now like it's happened, like under these specific parameters or circumstances,
- 39:29Speaker 2: you know that that legend comes to.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Life for a resa cous men. I know, because men,
- 39:37Speaker 1: because men are what trash which a trash pen. We
- 39:41Speaker 1: should just have that on every altar. Yeah, we'll just
- 39:44Speaker 1: slap it on there. So Elizabeth ran to their small
- 39:48Speaker 1: top room floor, which is like another weird thing someone
- 39:51Speaker 1: pointed out is like why were they in this tiny
- 39:54Speaker 1: like attic room for their honeymoon because of the view, right,
- 40:00Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know, like there were bigger rooms.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I'm sure maybe I just really I hate having to
- 40:07Speaker 1: keep saying this over and over with this type of story.
- 40:11Speaker 1: But some people might be new to ghost uff. I
- 40:13Speaker 1: don't want to just like say you know what happens,
- 40:16Speaker 1: because maybe you don't.
- 40:17Speaker 2: So, I mean, don't you thought those stories.
- 40:22Speaker 1: You might not know? Are you new to Earth? Maybe
- 40:27Speaker 1: maybe Okay, that's fair, she might be.
- 40:29Speaker 2: I don't want to make aliens feel weird.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Yeah, what if an alien is listening to us and
- 40:36Speaker 1: you just you just offended the ship out of them.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I apologize, I got you. So she either ran up
- 40:45Speaker 1: to the room so devastated that she felt like she
- 40:48Speaker 1: had no other choice but to jump from the window
- 40:52Speaker 1: to her death. My god, he's so not worth it,
- 40:55Speaker 1: I know, but like you know how it was, I
- 40:58Speaker 1: need like there is another option, but like back then
- 41:01Speaker 1: and even now, it's like a really hard choice.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I mean, also, just the devastation and like you know,
- 41:07Speaker 2: that was her.
- 41:08Speaker 1: That was the beginning of her life, like she thought
- 41:10Speaker 1: it was going to be one way and then now
- 41:12Speaker 1: it's all of a sudden not and you're just you
- 41:15Speaker 1: could be impulsive, And did you did you pick this one?
- 41:20Speaker 1: Because no, I didn't pick it. I picked it because
- 41:24Speaker 1: they need donations.
- 41:26Speaker 2: That's so funny because I definitely picked a case specifically
- 41:30Speaker 2: because of the timing. Oh and I'm I'm gonna fuck
- 41:37Speaker 2: Griss up with it. Yeah.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I kind of joked about picking like honeymoons and wedding stuff,
- 41:41Speaker 1: but I didn't mean to it. Just it just happened, no, naturally.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was like, I mean I've had this
- 41:49Speaker 2: case saved for a while.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I guess things just come into her lapse. Just happens.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Like with all the bear themes, we don't know where
- 41:57Speaker 1: it comes from. It'll just show up all the stories.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I mean, like, you can't make that up. I could
- 42:02Speaker 2: not have known that that one guy was like a
- 42:05Speaker 2: bear hunter.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 2: I had to dig and that was just a random thing.
- 42:10Speaker 2: It just like popped us.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Love that you out of it right now.
- 42:13Speaker 2: I was like, also, bears, Wow, we've got something we're
- 42:18Speaker 2: really excited to share with you.

- 42:44Speaker 2: Creepy people, they're in bo is in our show notes.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Wow, But back to sad stuff. Oh right, So either
- 42:54Speaker 1: way she passed away, either if she did it on
- 42:58Speaker 1: her own or there's another version of the story is
- 43:02Speaker 1: that she went up just to pack her things and
- 43:04Speaker 1: leave and he pushed her.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Okay, so it's definitely like an out the window scenario.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, on the top floor of the chateau, guests
- 43:15Speaker 1: sometimes hear footsteps above them, but again, like it's either
- 43:23Speaker 1: the attic or like the roof above you on the
- 43:25Speaker 1: top floor, so there.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Should be I mean steps back there just be like raccoons, right,
- 43:32Speaker 3: I mean, I guess yeah, but I think with the
- 43:37Speaker 3: building being so old, and all of the noises that
- 43:39Speaker 3: it makes that the footsteps would have to be like
- 43:43Speaker 3: pretty clear, and people also hear not just footsteps, but
- 43:49Speaker 3: they hear it crying sounds great, so of like maybe.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Or possibly a child, but probably a young woman. Cool.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Guests and staff who have ran into Elizabeth's spirit say
- 44:06Speaker 1: that she's like not very nice. Oh, which like, yeah,
- 44:13Speaker 1: I wouldn't be there when I.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Went out like that, but she kind of ended her
- 44:17Speaker 2: life in a terrible way after ending her marriage trash way. Yeah,
- 44:23Speaker 2: so I you know, I probably wouldn't be the happiest either.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I feel like that's fair. Yeah, but
- 44:29Speaker 1: I do have some great news for you, Okay, I
- 44:32Speaker 1: really do. This is actually really good news. I mean,
- 44:35Speaker 1: first of all, I don't believe you, but go on, no,
- 44:37Speaker 1: it is so we can't stay here because it's great.
- 44:41Speaker 1: They say that if someone checks into Elizabeth's room three
- 44:45Speaker 1: ten that you won't be getting a ghostly bunk mat
- 44:51Speaker 1: because she will leave the room if someone's in there.
- 44:54Speaker 1: She doesn't want to be around it people. She's like, ugh,
- 44:58Speaker 1: she goes and she wanders the halls of the hotel.
- 45:04Speaker 1: So you know, once you're in the room, to stay
- 45:06Speaker 1: in there, don't leave, and she won't bother you. Okay,
- 45:10Speaker 1: But one place she does like to frequent is the
- 45:13Speaker 1: third floor linen closet, and people say, weird joy hear
- 45:19Speaker 1: they hear sounds of moaning and crying coming from inside.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Oh no, So.
- 45:24Speaker 1: I don't know if maybe the moaning sounds are like
- 45:29Speaker 1: her husband and the housekeeper doing it, and then she
- 45:33Speaker 1: finds them and she starts crying, or maybe the moaning
- 45:37Speaker 1: is like the crying and she's just hiding in the
- 45:39Speaker 1: closet because she doesn't nowhere else to go. Or I
- 45:43Speaker 1: don't know, but that would make sense for like the
- 45:45Speaker 1: housekeeper to doing it in a linen closet. I hate that.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I hate it. I hate it so much. You don't
- 45:53Speaker 1: have any reason to go in the linen closet, so
- 45:55Speaker 1: you don't have to worry. We'll just be in now.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I have to because I just need to check. You
- 46:01Speaker 1: need to check. I have to know. She does also
- 46:09Speaker 1: like to spend time terrorizing the kitchen.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Here.
- 46:14Speaker 1: She likes to drop stuff on staff's heads, rude, paying
- 46:19Speaker 1: special attention to the people who don't believe in or
- 46:22Speaker 1: disrespect her in some way.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Okay, well, I mean that makes sense, but also still.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Rude, like don't don't fuck with the ghost. Yeah, just
- 46:32Speaker 1: be nice. There are people too, Okay.
- 46:35Speaker 2: One of these days, I'm totally going to die at
- 46:39Speaker 2: the hands of a ghost that my future husband mocked.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I'm going to die because of something super natural that
- 46:50Speaker 2: Christopher was like maybe maybe, babe.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Okay, well, we can't take him with us now because
- 46:55Speaker 1: we don't want stuff dropped on our heads. I don't.
- 47:00Speaker 1: She also bangs pots and pans and rattles doors in
- 47:04Speaker 1: the middle of the night, and I'm glad you finished
- 47:08Speaker 1: that sentence. She begsts and pans, she bangs. I really
- 47:12Speaker 1: wasn't sure where that was going. Okay, now we're just
- 47:17Speaker 1: gonna go to the chateau and seeing She bangs to Elizabeth,
- 47:21Speaker 1: and I think she would like that. She like it's
- 47:26Speaker 1: a coins. I don't know. Maybe she never did get
- 47:29Speaker 1: to bang. I don't know. Oh, no, more situation. That's true.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I didn't mean it, Elizabeth. I'm so sorry. I bang.
- 47:38Speaker 1: I beg. Yeah, we bang, we bang.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Like collectively, like join us if you wish, and like
- 47:47Speaker 2: no judgments either way.
- 47:50Speaker 1: So I don't know why she like bangs on pots
- 47:53Speaker 1: and pans and stuff. But I'm like, what if she's
- 47:54Speaker 1: just celebrating the new year or like COVID healthcare workers.
- 47:58Speaker 1: You know, maybe time's just a little different for her.
- 48:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm trying to think of other
- 48:05Speaker 2: occasions when you bang.
- 48:08Speaker 1: It's New Year's and to celebrate COVID healthcare workers. That's it,
- 48:12Speaker 1: That is it. Yeah, like this definitely was before COVID.
- 48:16Speaker 1: The time would have to work really different in the afterlife,
- 48:19Speaker 1: So you don't know. They caught some photo evidence of
- 48:22Speaker 1: Elizabeth in a storage area of the lodge. I don't
- 48:26Speaker 1: know if I don't know if it's a linen closet.
- 48:28Speaker 1: They just set a storage area, but I like to
- 48:30Speaker 1: think maybe it was the linen closet. The linen closet
- 48:33Speaker 1: and the photo used to be kept in a haunting
- 48:36Speaker 1: slog at the front desk. Shut the fuck. I don't
- 48:39Speaker 1: know if they still would do that or not shut
- 48:42Speaker 1: the actual front door. Yeah, I know, I couldn't find
- 48:45Speaker 1: the photo, so that would be cool if I had
- 48:47Speaker 1: it right, but I don't. But they say, but they
- 48:53Speaker 1: say that when she appears, she's obvious, she looks really sad,
- 48:56Speaker 1: which is understandable. Yeah, and she looks innocent. She looks young.
- 49:03Speaker 1: She has blonde, curly hair. H I don't know why
- 49:07Speaker 1: they say she looks innocent. Maybe because she's just young,
- 49:09Speaker 1: like a young person, because they're like, she was.
- 49:12Speaker 2: On her honeymoon and the groom was, you know, binging
- 49:16Speaker 2: it out.
- 49:16Speaker 1: She's more innocent than that guy. Oh, and she's wearing
- 49:21Speaker 1: clothes that are like of the thirties in the photo
- 49:25Speaker 1: that they caught her in. They die for evidence of her,
- 49:29Speaker 1: and people see her. And a little girl that was
- 49:32Speaker 1: a guest at the chateau left an interesting crayon drawing
- 49:38Speaker 1: in the haunting log Stop it Elizabeth. She likes to
- 49:43Speaker 1: make things a little bit difficult for the housekeepers. And
- 49:49Speaker 1: I can't imagine why.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean what why would she have?
- 49:54Speaker 1: Uh what's that called when you have a grudge, a
- 49:58Speaker 1: brudge against the housekeepers? I just I don't know why. Yeah,
- 50:03Speaker 1: she will again beg. You know what, I just thought
- 50:05Speaker 1: of this. She does bang. She probably doesn't know bang
- 50:10Speaker 1: like this, she probably knows bang. I was like, so
- 50:13Speaker 1: if we sang she bangs her, she would be like yeah,
- 50:16Speaker 1: she could do bang, and she would start banging on stuff. Yeah,
- 50:20Speaker 1: that's how we're gonna go shut We're just gonna sing.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Ricky Martin songs out loud to the Go again. She
- 50:26Speaker 1: bangs on the closet doors while the housekeepers are trying
- 50:29Speaker 1: to clean. So she just she keeps banging on shit. Yeah, well,
- 50:34Speaker 1: I mean that's fair. And then she doesn't stop there
- 50:37Speaker 1: because once they finish and lock the door behind them,
- 50:40Speaker 1: she will unmake the beds, unfold the towels, and toss
- 50:44Speaker 1: them around the room. She like is pissed off at
- 50:48Speaker 1: the house. She's like, not shy about that is not
- 50:52Speaker 1: the same girl. That is not the same girl, Like,
- 50:55Speaker 1: you need to let it go. I mean, she's just, yeah,
- 51:00Speaker 1: she's going through some stuff. That is the definition of
- 51:04Speaker 1: a grudge. Yeah, it really really is. But if that person,
- 51:09Speaker 1: that person's not around anymore, That's what I say. But
- 51:13Speaker 1: I wonder if she still worked at the hotel after
- 51:15Speaker 1: and like she did fuck with her after and then
- 51:19Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm curious. We need we need to
- 51:22Speaker 1: go ask her. So I also do have to say
- 51:26Speaker 1: that there are no official records of any deaths in
- 51:29Speaker 1: the building. So I do want to say that just
- 51:32Speaker 1: so everyone knows.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Isn't this in a fairly like isolated or rural location.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Interesting. I don't know. I don't know what happened back
- 51:44Speaker 1: in the thirties. I don't want to blame on anybody.
- 51:47Speaker 1: No one does.
- 51:48Speaker 2: Yeah, no one knows what happens, like the kind of
- 51:51Speaker 2: the whole thing.
- 51:52Speaker 1: All I'm saying is there's no record of it, so
- 51:57Speaker 1: take that as you will. I went to website National
- 52:02Speaker 1: Parks Travelers dot org. It is not Org this time, Brokay,
- 52:08Speaker 1: National Parks Traveler dot Org. And there was a person's
- 52:12Speaker 1: comment on here and they didn't know about the ghost
- 52:15Speaker 1: hack for this place that I found for you, Caitlin.
- 52:18Speaker 1: A ghost hack, Yeah, the ghost hack where you can
- 52:20Speaker 1: stay in Elizabeth's room.
- 52:21Speaker 2: She leaves, Oh, that's the ghost hack.
- 52:26Speaker 1: So this person didn't know that. Sin twenty twelve, they
- 52:29Speaker 1: wrote this comment that the front desk checked them into
- 52:32Speaker 1: room three ten and told them it was the haunted
- 52:36Speaker 1: Elizabeth's room. So they went up to check it out
- 52:40Speaker 1: and quickly came back down to change rooms. They didn't
- 52:44Speaker 1: say anything happened, but I just think they didn't want
- 52:47Speaker 1: to stay in a haunted room. Okay. They said when
- 52:52Speaker 1: they slept in this other room, they got terrible sleep.
- 52:56Speaker 1: And then the staff told them that there was an
- 52:59Speaker 1: in in that room that torments people. Oh, I don't
- 53:04Speaker 1: know if this is like a different inter deer, if
- 53:06Speaker 1: this is Elizabeth, since she's not in her own room,
- 53:09Speaker 1: she's often like someone else's room. Yeah, I don't know.
- 53:14Speaker 1: They should have stayed.
- 53:16Speaker 2: They should have stayed with the devil, you know, you know,
- 53:19Speaker 2: I think so.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Especially since now we know in hindsight that room three
- 53:25Speaker 1: ten is probably the best place to say if you
- 53:28Speaker 1: don't want activity, you know, I mean, I guess. There
- 53:32Speaker 1: was another comment on this website. My late spouse Lourene Parton,
- 53:38Speaker 1: and I stayed at the chateau in the nineteen eighties.
- 53:42Speaker 1: We read and heard nothing about any haunting. Which it
- 53:46Speaker 1: was the eighties, so I don't know. Did they really
- 53:48Speaker 1: like report on like haunted stuff that frequently?
- 53:51Speaker 2: I feel like it was mostly like urban legends. Yes,
- 53:55Speaker 2: you know read it wasn't around.
- 53:56Speaker 1: To write, so the story hadn't gotten to them yet. Okay,
- 54:01Speaker 1: they go on to say, waking up in the middle
- 54:03Speaker 1: of the night, we heard a woman pacing in our room,
- 54:06Speaker 1: up and down, up and down until we finally returned
- 54:11Speaker 1: to sleep. When we reported this the next morning, our
- 54:15Speaker 1: breakfast server asked if we wanted to see something really spooky.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Uh nope, all good? I said yes, and this is
- 54:24Speaker 1: not me.
- 54:24Speaker 2: They said yes, Oh boy.
- 54:27Speaker 1: He took me to what I recall as a light
- 54:29Speaker 1: filled room without furniture the hotel never rented. The moment
- 54:34Speaker 1: he opened the door, I was frozen in terror. I
- 54:37Speaker 1: couldn't even enter the room. Everyone responds the same way
- 54:42Speaker 1: he said, closing the door. Other servers said that they
- 54:47Speaker 1: have to duck when cutlery sometimes flies from the drawers
- 54:52Speaker 1: when they set the breakfast tables. Believe me, this is
- 54:55Speaker 1: no publicity stunt. I mean, the place isn't even open
- 54:59Speaker 1: at this point, so why would they even need a
- 55:02Speaker 1: publicity stunt. Okay, we're going to go on to another
- 55:06Speaker 1: story that was submitted in twenty twenty one. So obviously
- 55:10Speaker 1: they weren't staying there in twenty twenty one because the
- 55:12Speaker 1: hotel was closed. It says, I had written a long
- 55:16Speaker 1: story and it disappeared. What not surprising, So they had
- 55:21Speaker 1: already commented a story and it's gone. Oh yeah, So
- 55:25Speaker 1: I wonder if they had like commented when it originally
- 55:28Speaker 1: it had happened. Oh, I have pictures of Elizabeth in
- 55:33Speaker 1: room three oh nine. No you don't.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Nope, Nope.
- 55:38Speaker 1: So Elizabeth's room is three ten. But remember I said
- 55:42Speaker 1: that she leaves, So maybe she went to three oh
- 55:45Speaker 1: nine because she wont a little ghostly gap. Remember we
- 55:48Speaker 1: talked about that too. Oh geez, she just needs some
- 55:52Speaker 1: ghostly gap in her life and I get it. Also,
- 55:57Speaker 1: we should just start a podcast called ghostly Gaps ghostly gag.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I don't know how much more ghostydness I
- 56:08Speaker 2: can handle.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Well, we could start this, someone else can host it,
- 56:11Speaker 1: and then you'll just get the prophets.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Jim.
- 56:19Speaker 1: So Elizabeth apparently is talking to this person because they
- 56:24Speaker 1: say she told me she had just married her husband
- 56:27Speaker 1: because she was pregnant. I have three photos of Elizabeth materializing.
- 56:33Speaker 1: The sadness will remain until she and her child are
- 56:36Speaker 1: acknowledged somehow. Oh so there's no record or any other
- 56:41Speaker 1: story saying she was pregnant. But I guess this person
- 56:43Speaker 1: is kind of like psychic or can talk to the dead,
- 56:46Speaker 1: and they somehow got from her that she was with child.
- 56:50Speaker 1: So that makes the story even more sad than buck up,
- 56:54Speaker 1: and I want to believe that's not true. Yeah, that's awful.
- 56:58Speaker 1: How do you go cheat on your pregnant new life?
- 57:01Speaker 2: Wowsh like you are a double dirt bag dick real.
- 57:07Speaker 1: DDD. I'm next. I'm going to read a comment from
- 57:12Speaker 1: your ghost stories dot com and this is from twenty sixteen.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Coming to the chateau, I knew nothing of its history.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Y'all need to just look up haunted hotels before you
- 57:22Speaker 1: go anywhere.
- 57:23Speaker 2: I mean, or just look up the places that you're
- 57:25Speaker 2: going to stay, even if you aren't quite sure that
- 57:29Speaker 2: they're haunted.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Just type in the place and then haunted after it,
- 57:32Speaker 1: just to make sure you know, or you know.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Maybe just like try going beyond like the hotel's actual
- 57:40Speaker 2: like their website in the search result, because what if
- 57:43Speaker 2: there's other stuff that's happened there, Like maybe it's not haunted,
- 57:46Speaker 2: but what if there's other stuff you should know about?
- 57:48Speaker 1: That's true. All my whole family knew was it was
- 57:51Speaker 1: a really old hotel by the Oregon Caves, which it is.
- 57:56Speaker 1: That is true. Since the moment we walked in and
- 58:00Speaker 1: checked in, I felt uncomfortable. I couldn't tell you why,
- 58:03Speaker 1: but I felt there was someone there everywhere taking time
- 58:09Speaker 1: to explore. I would walk around the lobby upstairs from
- 58:13Speaker 1: the dining room. Everything was normal and busy. But no
- 58:16Speaker 1: matter how hard I tried, I could never sit by,
- 58:19Speaker 1: walk by, or stand by the piano without getting chilled.
- 58:24Speaker 2: That's so funny because as soon as you said everywhere,
- 58:27Speaker 2: I was like.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Like Michelle branch Oh, she played the piano.
- 58:36Speaker 2: I'm just saying coincidence.
- 58:39Speaker 1: I think, No.
- 58:40Speaker 4: Not.
- 58:41Speaker 1: The feeling I kept getting every time I was around
- 58:44Speaker 1: or in the chateau made me uncomfortable enough to beg
- 58:47Speaker 1: my parents to leave and not stay the night. Wow. Yeah,
- 58:51Speaker 1: you make that whole trip up there. You're not leaving. Yeah,
- 58:54Speaker 1: that's a lot. Yeah, I mean you'd have to be
- 58:56Speaker 1: really uncomfortable. Yeah, and it's like out there, like if
- 58:59Speaker 1: you look it up, it's quite a way, like a
- 59:02Speaker 1: drive from the main town that's close by. So yeah,
- 59:05Speaker 1: you're not there.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Nowhere else to stay?
- 59:07Speaker 1: No, you must stay in the cave. Oh my god, no,
- 59:11Speaker 1: a bad apartment. That night when I went to bed
- 59:15Speaker 1: in my room, in my own room, I was twelve
- 59:18Speaker 1: at the time. No matter how hard I tried, I
- 59:20Speaker 1: couldn't get to sleep the whole night. I just kept
- 59:23Speaker 1: hearing the couple upstairs. Okay, yelling at each other, stomping
- 59:28Speaker 1: around and slamming doors.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Were they stomping or were you twelve and you didn't
- 59:34Speaker 2: know what those voices were?
- 59:36Speaker 1: I don't know. When I talked to my parents the
- 59:39Speaker 1: next morning about it, they told me they hadn't heard
- 59:42Speaker 1: a thing. Hmmm, this being hard to believe because the
- 59:46Speaker 1: couple was so loud. Oh boy, chalking it up to
- 59:50Speaker 1: maybe my imagination in a dream I made to match
- 59:54Speaker 1: my uneasy feelings. I think the parents, we're too embarrassed.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I think they did hear something, and they were like,
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: we didn't hear anything because we don't want to explain
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: those noises.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Well I don't think that. I don't think they were
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: sex noises though.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Well okay, well we'll talk about it.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: That was my favorite theory or yeah, we'll go over it.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: It's kind of my only theory. So well, I have one.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: My family and I brushed the incident off as we
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: were checking out. My dad, who loves to share, began
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: retelling my tale to the receptionist, who began to laugh.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: She just mentioned that the chateau was known for being haunted. Haha,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: they didn't know this previously. Okay, that's right, all right.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: The only thing that convinced my parents I wasn't dreaming
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: was after leaving the chateau, we looked up the story
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: and then found out the tale of Elizabeth in her
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: astray Fielce. I don't know which. I think they were married.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I think they're already married, yeah, Julie was, yeah.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Right, yeah, but you can see how overtime that sort
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: of gets. It's like a game of tri phone, right, Yeah,
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: they're like married, engaged, same thing, Nato Tomato.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Whose room just happened to be beside mine, so they
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: were staying right next to Elizabeth's room. Oh so my
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: theory was that this was like the them fighting about
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: you know, what had happened about him cheating on her
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: and she was like, you're a scoundrel. Yeah, he was
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: like hearing the residual fight from the night.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, probably more sense
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: than my theory.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: But like, I don't know, because she's having angry sex,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: They could have been still a residual haunting, yeah, and
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: having angry sex.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Or maybe it's the sounds of him boning that that
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: housekeeper and then she finds them and then they fight.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Yeah, the wires or just like the wires got crossed,
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: and there's just like everything, all of the events of
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: that night just kind of being funneled into well.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: All time is happening all at once. So oh my god. Okay,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: does anyone need to take a drink real quick, because
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: all right, I have one more thing about the chateau
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: and the caves. There's a recorded bigfoot sighting in the
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: vicinity of the chateau. Really yes. There is a documentary
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: from the Daily Courier dot com on psychologist Matthew Johnson's
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: bigfoot sighting at the Oregon Caves.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Really yes, okay, And that's not just like any old yogel.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I mean he's a psychologist. Yeah, so that means he's
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: like basically an ex for in the outdoors. Yeah, you know,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: just saying toats totes, like what are you going to
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: do when you find bigfoot? Like lay him on a
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: couch and ask him about his childhood?
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: I mean maybe I feel like I would. Why are
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: you so anti social? Yeah you're very misunderstood. What would
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: you like people to know about you?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: How do you feel about them? Yeah? Anyway possible?
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: I guess that was more Diane Sawyer than it was
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: like psychologist.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: But you know, okay, with Potato, I feel kind of bad.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not like making fun of him. It's
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: just like the situation about a psychologist, like the fact
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: a psycho. Yeah, yeah, it's interesting. This man was actually
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: kind of on the verge of tears talking about it
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: because he was so scared witnessing what he thinks is Bigfoot,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: and he was like, everything I knew about the outdoors,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: it's like changed forever because this thing I had witnessed
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: that I previously, you know, didn't think was a thing
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: that existed in the world, and now it does.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that does change your perception. I guess I didn't
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: think about that.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of freaky. Yeah. There's also something called
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: the Southern Oregon Bigfoot Experience. Okay, it's like a museum,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: like a Bigfoot museum.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Okay, but that could be fun. I'm going, okay, now,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: let's let's do let's go. We gotta take another break.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I have actually, but.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Well, what if I tell you there's also Yetti's ice
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Cream and Treats in town. Hmm.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Wait, when they say Yetti's, what are they? It's just
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: the name of the ice cream places, Yetti's ice creams.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: I was like, there's like a Yetti store and then
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: also an ice cream No, it's not like Yetti's like
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: your cups or you know. But I was like, that's
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: fusing in this context, just because like Bigfoot and.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Then we're talking about Yet you get it, you get it. Yeah,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: but yeah, it's kind of like a Bigfoot. It's like
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: the same interchangeable, you know. That's what I was thinking.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: But Yeti's are like in the snow. So it's like
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: ice cream makes sense, yes, mayeah, total sense, but they
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: kind of I think they should have named it Yeti's
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: ice cream and sweet treats. It's just sounds like I
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: keep wanting to say something more than treats. It just
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: needs to be sweet treats. You know, they just go together.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: I like it. Well anyway, that's that's my story, and
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: I think everyone should definitely go donate to the chateau
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: to get this. Get this lady rebuilt, get her up
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: and run again so we can stay in her gorgeousness,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: you her montor Okay, do you think we should do
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: some taro? Yeah, let's do a little batty tarot. Yeah,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: what does that entail, Betty, shit, just get batty in
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: this bit Shittywow. Okay.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: So I went to shuffle and even though this deck
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: is like the size of standard cards, had a couple
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: poppers there. So we've got two cards we've laid out
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: already on the altar, and Cassie's Cassie's wrapping up. We
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: got the ten of Hearts in the Tree of Diamonds
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: as our poppers. All right, she's picking a cod pick
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: a cad any cad, which God will it be?
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: It's a frog? Okay. So I'm using not a Tarot
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: deck today, but I'm using a duck of cards called
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: the Cabinetarium. And it's like a weirdo, creepy duck. And
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: we got it from the Hopscotch place in Portland. That's right,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I knew I recognized her. Yeah, it's really cute. So
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: the two poppers we had, Caitlin's do you want to
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: read those first? Or should I?
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: It's up to you.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Let's uh. Let's so I pulled a jack card or
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: a joker card.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: I was wondering if that's what it was.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: So I pulled the school Guard. I'm assuming because it
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: has no label it so I assume that that's it, alright,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: so love it. Yeah, so we pulled the two of pentacles,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: which is diamonds, and then the ten of cups, which
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: is hearts. Probably have to remind me in a second
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: that's I'm a gold fish. Those the ones that fell out,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: not Yeah.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Okay, who of pentacles. Our keywords are balanced, busyness, financial partnership, choices.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Whos and downs. Okay, financial partnership. They're in need of that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: Some decks picture a person juggling to pentacles, which represents
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: juggling different facets of your life. You're trying to keep
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: many balls in the air, so to speak. Sometimes this
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: card indicates making a choice between two things, like maybe
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: your wife and a brand new mystery.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Right, yeah, that's true.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Should I go with the upright because there's not really
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: an upright versus reverse?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: And I mean there kind of is on these because
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: they have a picture, but I don't know what way
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: they fell out, So we'll just go with upright.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's kind of what I was thinking.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: And I think I think I pulled the joker card
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: because it's like a frog being dissected. Hold on, let
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: me look. Yeah, it's such a cool picture. But I
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: was like, which way because oh, I guess, probably this way,
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: So I drew it in reverse. Oh you guys know
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: I drew it this way.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: So fol Okay, The upright too can mean good fortune
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: as a result of your ability to handle many things
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: at once. You manage to balance work and play and
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: feel content with your situation. Sometimes it shows you have
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: many resources at your disposal and know how to use
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: them well, so donate with confidence.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like, yeah, I feel like this is
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: mostly about the money situation and the rebuilding stuff.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, which I feel like that's typical of pentacles.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: In a reading about money, the upright too may mean
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: doubling your money.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I hope so well, doubling it because they
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: need to pay a lot more. Right.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Perhaps by joining forces with a partner you can profit,
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: You can profit more than you could alone. In some cases,
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: this card indicates two sources of income. So maybe they're
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: going to start doing some haunty, spooky, creepy Tourso that's
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: another source of revenue, right, just a suggestion.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they do do all those cave tours.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Do do there?
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: You go do do if the reading is about your job.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: The two can represent balancing work with downtime. You need
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: both to stay happy and healthy. It can also indicate
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: a busy period when you have to juggle projects or duties.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Duties.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Sometimes it suggests choosing between two job offers or opportunities.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: Okay, so the duality of it.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: I feel like we can see there's applications.
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and I'm sure they're juggling, Like what project
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: do you do first? Yeah, one's going to be more
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: important to like, yeah, the buildings structure.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, to any number of concerns that you would
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: have in this case. In a reading about love, this
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: card may represent shared resources or working with a romantic partner.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Oh, I mean a situation if.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: You're hanging out together still in the afterlife and hunting.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: I feel like, honestly, he wouldn't be there. I feel
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: like it would just be the chicks that would be
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: the ones to stay, because he would be like off
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: somewhere else, banging someone else in the afterlife.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: So frustrating. Perhaps running a business together. It's us, so
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: working together, running a business together. It can also mean
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: you're trying to balance your work and domestic life. Sometimes
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: it indicates a choice between two partners.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: I wonder if they're getting someone else to like own
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: it with them, maybe who's bringing more of financial support? Yeah,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: I mean the idea what's going on with them? But yeah,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: possible or like we don't know them personally. Just to
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: be clear, maybe if you're listening, maybe you do need
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: to get someone else to help own property with your partnership.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Little idea from Tarot, not from us, so if it
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: goes wrong, don't blame us.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: Hashtag not financial advice.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Yeah okay.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: And then our other card use a ten.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Ton of cups, which is that family card where there's
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: like a house in the distance, there's like two children playing.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: So I feel like maybe it is going to get
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: like built up nice and new where families are going
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: to come and stay again. And let's just hope it's
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: going to be a happy place. I hope. So with
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: life the Chateau. Yeah okay.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: So our keywords are comfort, happiness, domestic bliss, love and harmony.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Oh my god, you guys. Yeah, did I even talk
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: about the I might have talked about the chairs, but
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: this card is a chair, and I don't know if
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: you remember they have like the special old chairs that
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: they lost most of them in the flood, and so
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: they're trying to like get more and rebuild them the
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: way that they were. And we got a freaking chair card.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: That is wild. How funny? That is wild? Okay, all right?
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: A card of fulfillment, which is a good sign positive.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: The ten of cups represents a happy home where love
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: and harmony abide. Some decks show a contented couple gazing
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: at their beautiful home while their children play. Others picture
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: the pair with flowers, rainbows, and other symbols of love
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: and hope. You could think of this as the happy
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: ever aftercard.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: Like other tens, this card signifies a time of completion. Yay, yay,
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: hopefully soon yeah five, when you reap the rewards of
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: what you've sown.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Life is good. Abundance in the true sense of the word,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: is yours. I can't even imagine that feeling. When they
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: do open back up, like all of the stuff that
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: they have gone through, it's gonna happen. The cards are
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: saying it's happening.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: I think so, yeah. I mean, my gosh, Okay. In
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: a reading about money, you're in a position of financial
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: security and comfort, maybe because you brought in a partner.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: It's hard to say. Are we the partners?
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Are we gonna own horsha?
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: Your efforts pay off? Sometimes this ten represents family money
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: and inheritance or marrying into wealth.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Oh, we should all be so looking. Okay.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: If the reading is about your job, the upright ten
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Herald's rewards respect and recognition.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: We're recognizing you, we see you, we see your chateau.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: You're proud of what you've accomplished and content with your success.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Ah well, yeah, it's pretty easy to be content with success.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Can confirm from that one time. This card can also
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: mean working in a successful family business. It's talking. I
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: feel like in both of these card interpretations about sort
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: of like a partnership, being involved in business with someone
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: who's close to you.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I canna vive here. It's cool. Yeah, they go together.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: In a reading about love, this card represents a loving, supportive,
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: joyful relationship. It indicates a happy family life where the
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: people involved share love openly and feel secure in their situation.
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: Ah.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: So, you know, maybe it's gonna flip the whole story
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: of this place kind of on its head a little bit.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, there's probably gonna be no more shitty dudes cheating
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: on their newlywed wifs with the house because I bet
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: you all of these housekeepers since have been like, uh no,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: we heard what happened to that other housekeeper. She got
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: taken advantage of by this one guy, and it'll never
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: happen again, not today, Satan. Yeah, it wasn't her fault,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: she got taken advantage of by this dick hole. Okay,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: but they learned from her, not her mistake, his mistake. Yeah,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: from the mistake.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: They learned from a bad situation where people were hurt
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: and feelings were abused and people were not happy.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it was all the man's fault.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Yeah, smash the patriarchy.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Where's my hammer necklace? When I needed? What are you
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: gonna do?
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: Well, that's all I have for those two cards. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: so let's go for the fool reasse. I feel like
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: these are more gonna be the well I was thinking
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: about the ghosts, but we'll see, we shall see.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: So keywords for the fool innocence beginnings, trust, hope, and opportunity.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: And I'm not going to read this crazy long like
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: intro on it because it describes mainly the traditional taro
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: and like that imagery. And also, you guys, how many
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: bajillions of times have we read that too?
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Well? I can yeah, right, I can picture. I do
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: have something to say about the look of the card,
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: and then we can move on. But it's kind of
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: like on like a rocky mountain side. It's like a cliff,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: so like that is you know, there's probably a cave
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: down at the bottom, could be could be. Oh, I
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: like it. Wait hold on, Oh my god, I just
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: remembered my headphone flew off. You guys, remember I told
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: you the story about how the cave was found by
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: the man and his dog in the pool has a
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: dog on it. It's like a man and his dog
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: in the wilderness. Okay, crazy mind, a little bit blown.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: I'm so glad we're learning, though, because we if we
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: were just doing these cards because they don't have the
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: normal imagery, if we didn't have at least like the fool,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: it's kind of like an easy one to remember. But yeah,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: I'm glad we're learning because now we know, like what
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: the cards should look like, we can relate it.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: To the I think a lot of this I don't
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: really realize until in the moment. This is a really
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: good It's kind of a test, but it like in
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: a less scary way, like when you try to go
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: get your drivers permit, you know.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, using the deck. That's not the usual tear out.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: You have to know things.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like I'm I'm absorbing more then I thought.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we know things, you guys. I'm so impressed with myself.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: I'm so glad even though we did this on a
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: different day that I had recalled that story of the
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: man and his dog finding the cave. That's so cool.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: I can't perfectly remember that me neither good for you.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: My brain is work. I love it. Okay, uh interesting.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: If the fool is reversed, you may feel restless and bored,
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: eager to try something new, but now it's probably not
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: the right time to act because it hits your wedding
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: night right.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Or you're going out looking for a cave and you
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: are looking for hunting and you find a bare cave. Yikes.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: I think of this as the don't quit your day
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: job guard. That's not to say what you want is
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: wrong headed, but you need to consider the pros and
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: cons carefully before you.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Walk off that cliff. The other thing I was thinking of,
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: like when they started the construction of the building, like
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: they were just oh, they knew they needed it, but
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: they're kind of like blindly going into all of these
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: other things they didn't know were coming. Yeah.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Oh boy, in a reading about money, you may not
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: have all the information you need to make a well
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: founded decision, and impulsive action could lead to a fall.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Ooh, a fall like the like the whole building could
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: fall down.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, someone may take advantage of your innocence.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I mean I don't know.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: It feels pretty pointed. Yeah, potentially of the wedding night.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: The reverse fool can mean you're vacillating or overly cautious
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: about money matters. If the reading is about your job,
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: your current situation has probably led to a dead end,
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: or you've grown bored with your career path you're on.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: It's time to strike out in a new direction. Don't
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: do this hastily, however, Yeah, their information and explore possibilities,
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: so you know some of the unexpected things. I feel
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: like you were talking about.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Married or like with marrying someone. I guess you don't
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: really know because he's turns out to be a dickhead.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: So maybe get all the dickhead information more. Yeah, it's
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: funny to that. Yeah, I kind of was picking up
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: a vibe.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: In a reading about love. This card can warn you
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: to look more closely at a partner or relationship.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: Things may not be what you think. God damn it,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: I know. I don't like that.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: The reverse fool may also indicate the end of a
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: relationship and greater freedom as a result.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: I mean, maybe she was free. Yikes.
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Okay, oh okay, this feels kind of dark.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: I have chilies. Okay, I'm heave damn gee.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: But think before you act, however, for you might regret
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: a breakup undertaken hastily.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: I feel like you might regret a breakup with your
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: own life taken hastily maybe, yeah, okay, or on his side,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: like if he did push her out the window, like
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: regret that, bro, because you I hope you went to hell?
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Yeah hell, and not the cool part.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Like, okay, breakup kind of an understatement in that case, yike.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Damn Okay, Well that was really cool. I love it. God,
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: I love it. We got the full card and then
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: the freaking chair. Well should we get out here? Seeing
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: them do your thing? Do my thing? She got a
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: thing that she has something to do.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: I like, literally never have anything to do.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: I have a very important appointment. All right, well let's
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: get her to it. All right, I have a creepy
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: as day. We'll see you next two. She get lost
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: in a cave and lose your matches and then lose
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: your dog and don't say that, and you have to
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: live in a bear apartment forever. Oh no, I mean
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: maybe it's snuggly.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: Did I mention I E would think? Now, I'm like,
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna get lost.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I don't like any of this. Don't get lost near
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: any caves.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Caitlin is, Yeah, I think I can manage that today.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: I hope bye bye.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Oh that was from the deep. I was thinking, penises
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: make her sneeze? And you're like, oh, that was from
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: the deep. Wait penis as we're talking about naked bike
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: ride and then you see this, and I was gonna
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: be like, penises make you sneak.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: I don't know my delicate ladylike sensibilities can Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: I'm basically like a Texas school marm.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: She's naughty, she's nasty. We didn't say peena w a
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: fere nasty.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: We didn't I thought we did.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: No, we didn't anyway. We peanab a nasty, and we
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: are
