Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey friend, I've got a short runway right now, so listen quick.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: You are about to hear Dr. Paulovine's voice as he preaches a decades-old message that still holds true today.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for listening to the broadcast today, but give Dr. Paul your attention as he shares with us a thought that just might change your life.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: I hear something maybe he didn't know was in the Bible.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: But here in 1 John chapter 5, it tells us that God kills people.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Look over sixty first John chapter five way in the back of the Bible.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: If any man see his brother sin is sin which is not under death, he shall ask and he shall give him life for them that sin not under death.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: I won't go into that part of it, but there is a sin under death.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Look at that next phrase.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: There is a sin under death, young people.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: What does he talking about?
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking about the death that landed in the morning.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking about the death where they squirt in bombing flew it all through you.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking about death where they drain the blood out of you.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's talking about the death where they bury you in a coffin under six feet of ground.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's the kind of death he's talking about, physical death.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now he says, there is a sin unto death.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, you and I shouldn't go around pray that God will kill people.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: They got knows who he ought to kill, who he ought not kill.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: But as you read your Bible, boy, all through the Bible, you read about how God killed people.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: God killed them because they were like a horse.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: They were like a mule.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: They'd never gave up.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: They rebelled and rebelled and rebelled.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: King Saul never gave up.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: And God killed him on the battlefield in a horrible death.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: In a bloody death with his son's sword sticking him in a belly and warlin' around on the ground in his own blood and insides.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's why he died.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: And then those are the guy by the name of Aiken, and God killed him by letting him be stoned at that.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: He and his family because of sin and the rebellion in his life.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's always because of rebellion.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever people do, that's wrong.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Never give up.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's always because of rebellion.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was a guy by name of Korra.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: He started a rebellion against Moses, and you know what God did with him?
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: This is very interesting.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: God took Korra and the bunch that followed him.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: And Moses said, we're going to find out now, whether I am the leader around here or whether Kauri is.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: And all of a sudden the earth just opened up and Kauri and his followers were swallowed up in the earth and in the Hebrew language, in the English Bible, it says they went down into the pit, I believe it says, but in the Hebrew word, a shio, now listen, shio in
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Greek word Hades is in the New Testament.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: When the rich man died, the Bible says the rich man also died and in hell he lifted up his eyes being in torment.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: The Greek word is Hades.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now Hades in the New Testament and she all of the Old Testament are the same place.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's a place of fire, and brimstone, and pain, and agony, it's hell.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: And it says, please look up, will ya, now?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Please look up, so I can have your attention.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: It says that when chloro-rebelled against God, God will open up the earth, and chloro, and His cloud, went down a life into shield.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: And if that was a Greek language, it would be saying he went down alive in Tahiti's or in Tahel.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Warden, pay for Korra to rebel against God, God put up with a just so long and then God killed him in Korra.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: In 1 Corinthians chapter 11, God says to those people that in the Church of Corn, they do Christians now, the Church of Corn, they've definitely choral wasn't safe because he went to hell.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: God just killed him, sent him to hell, and that was it.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Now, in Corinthians, they were taking the Lord's supper in an unworthy manner, and Paul says, on a kind of this, some of you are weak.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Some of you are sickly, and some of you are dead.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, I was getting very serious.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: When God says, I'll put up with it just so long, I'll guide you with my eye if you let me.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: If I have to, I'll put a bridal on you, but if you're still and never give up, I just may have to shoot you.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's what God is saying.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: There is a sin on the desk.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: You can't go on forever shaking your fisting God's face.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: You can't do it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: You can't get by with it if you're a crazy.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: He just can't.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Let me give him my own testimony and then we'll go.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: I was saved up for four.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: And in my early years, I loved the things that God, I used to take a testament to school in me.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: When I was in fourth grade, I see I'd be 10 years old in.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I would get my lessons.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: And then I would read this testament.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I'd mark the verses that I was going to preach from when I grew up.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: I always knew I was going to be a preacher.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: But then when I moved out on the farm, and I had three miles to walk to school, I got mixed up with a bunch of guys who didn't love God and didn't love the Bible.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: They weren't saved.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't change them, but they changed me so that I cooled off spiritually.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: And as a side day for me, when I cooled off spiritually, and I lost my love for the Bible, and I lost my love for the church, and I didn't care a whole lot about going to church anymore.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: The only reason that I liked to go was because it was a cute blonde there by the name of Genevieve.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, whenever she was there, I enjoyed it.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday nights, I sit right behind her.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: And by one time, during that long, dry, dead, stale sermons, she turned around, bet those black eyes at me.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man, that was wonderful.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: I was your enjoyed church.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: But that only lasted a few months, and she ditched me for another guy.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that ruined church for me again.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: I really, you know, I didn't care much anymore.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: Quit praying, quit reading the Bible.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't want to go to church, had the gold, didn't want to go.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: That went on.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: I knew I was getting rebellious.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now I ain't gone on it at each end.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: And got drunk or gone on LSD treacherous, smoke and marijuana.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't have that things.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I handed back in those days.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: But I was rebellious.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: On the inside, I had an older brother whose name, he was a preacher.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: And his name was Adolf.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: He was no relation to Hitler.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: They ate off Hitler, but I thought he was.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now this was before we ever heard of Adolf Hitler.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: This would be, whoa, back in 1927.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: because my brother was after me.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: He was a preacher.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: He saw I was slipping and he knew God was trying to get my attention.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: And he knew I was about to go down the hill and over the hill and down the drain of my life be ruined.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: He knew that and he had sense enough to see it.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: You see I was slipping just to kid.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: And he started talking to me.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what?
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: I resented it.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: And we were there talking to me.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need listen to you.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: I remember one time he talked to me about getting baptized.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: And as he was talking to me about why I ought to get baptized, I just turned him back on him and just walked away.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: Impudent, little, no good brat.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: 12, 13 years old, boy with my dad had been.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: My dad and mother came from Sweden.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: They were their own fashion kind.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: If my dad would have been there, and he'd have seen me turn and walk away from my older brother, my dad would have just reached over and grabbed me by the hair on top of my head.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I had hair up there.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: He would have grabbed me by the hair and he'd have shook me around a little bit and he'd say, hey, where'd you say, kid, go on, who knows you're going somewhere.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: When he said, you ain't going.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: that your brother talking to you.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's older than you.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: He loves you.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's trying to help you.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to listen to him and I would have, but my dad wasn't there, so I just walked off.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: See, I was in the state of rebellion.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody going to tell me anything.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: My mother kept praying for me in one day.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: God got the bridal out and said, okay, first of all, he got a fence post and got my attention and stuck the bridal on me in Old Boy.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to ever want to go through that again.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: I was 13.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I woke
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: You say, are you saying that every time a guy breaks his leg or gets sick, it's God beaten him or a whip and him or chasing him?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: No, I've been in the hospital a number of times.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: I've had two mastoid operations on this year and the last time I went for the big six and a half hour operation on this year, the night before my wife said to me, are you scared?
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, no.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: She said, do you want some aspirin-seeing sleep?
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: I said, no, I can sleep without any aspirins, I'm not scared.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: See, I knew that I wasn't going to the hospital because God was dealing with me this time.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: But brother, it was different when I was 13.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: I woke up in our hospital and I had a hole in my side.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the tube sticking in there, it's my little finger, but it felt like a fire hose felt like it was about this big around.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then it was awful.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, and I was in pain, young people.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: While I was on the ether, I caught pneumonia.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: My God could have kept all this from happening to me, but he didn't.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: I got pneumonia.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: She was a guy next to me in the bed, and he had pneumonia and he was dying.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: And he was yelling for air.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: So the nurse went over there, opened the window, didn't have air conditioning, then.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Never heard of it.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: She opened the window.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: I lay in a draft while I was coming out of ether.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: I caught pneumonia.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: So now, when I wake up, I not only got this hole in my side, and I'm all banished up, but I got a battery of lamps on me.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's heat on my chest.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: See, back in those days when you got pneumonia, they didn't have penicillin or sofa.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: They would put heat on you.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: A heat lamp or a rapian about a dozen blankets, and if you didn't get well, then they buried you.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: That was only thing to us to do.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there I was.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: In all dreadful pain, and I said to the nurse, and I got where I could talk a little bit, I said, what's these lamps here for?
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: And she turned around and walked out.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: She wasn't going to talk about it because it was her fault that I had what I had.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the pain was terrible because I was having to call all the time, see?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: And when I would call, it adjudic my body.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this incision wasn't just a whole stick in out of there.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I would call in and hurt so terribly.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: It felt like a guy sitting a straddling me with a meat cleaver, a grin in that meat, and every time I'd call, he'd go wham with that meat cleaver.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't own my belly.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, it was terrible.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: They couldn't even walk up and touch the edge of the bed.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: They wanted to move me to a private room.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: They couldn't even move the bed.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Couldn't rule me out of there.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was dreadful pain.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So they started to give me pain killers in my arms.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: to both of my arms were swelled way up.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: And the pain was, young folks, I never knew about 14-year-old kid could suffer as much as I suffered.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: It is awful.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: That went on for about two weeks.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Other complication set in.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: And it was dreadful pain.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: It was agonizing pain day and night.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: The owner of the relief I got was when I'd give me a shot, I had a relief for a little while.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'd then it pained, come right back.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, one night, I saw two guys walking the room and they walked over to this guy next to me.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I noticed that they had been one of these screens on it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: They walked all the way there and yanked the sheet off of him.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: One guy picked him up by the back of the neck and the other guy picked him up by the heels and they had a basket there.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: There was about six foot long.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: The only time I've ever seen a basket like that.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: A long narrow basket that just picked him up and dropped him, cropped, into that basket.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I was so full of dope.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't realize what was going on.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to figure out what's going on around here and then they put a little
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, don't let me.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: That will boy die.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what he died with?
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing I had.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Only I had a worse than he did.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he died with it.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, I began to do some taking.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: Lord, that will boy die with pneumonia.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't even have a hole in his side.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: After about two weeks, they finally pull out two bow.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Start taking some of the stitches out.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: And this congestion began to let up.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: And they let up on the shots.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: And my mind cleared up.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: I want to tell you what I did.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: When my mind began to clear up so that I could think straight, the first thing I did was to have a prayer meeting.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't need my mother to say, you better get right with God.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't need eight off my brother.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: They're either telling me to get right with God.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't need my pastor.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Brother, I knew I wasn't right with God.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I knew I wasn't right with my parents.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: And flat on my back, looking straight up.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, I hope God doesn't have to get your attention like He did, Dr. Paul Levines.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for listening today.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: But would you join us tomorrow as Dr. Paul closes out this thought?
