- 0:03Speaker 1: One week. Seriously, what a fun week.
- 0:06Speaker 2: By the way, I just have a question for all
- 0:07Speaker 2: of you out there that wanted a trade deadline in
- 0:11Speaker 2: the off season and or a signing deadline in the
- 0:14Speaker 2: off season. There's no Cody Bellinger signing, there's no Freddy
- 0:17Speaker 2: Peralta trade, there's no Luise Robert trade.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm just saying, what's the line from Gladiator?
- 0:23Speaker 2: Are you not entertained? I mean, the people that wanted
- 0:26Speaker 2: those deadlines, guess what, you wouldn't have the players you
- 0:30Speaker 2: have now because you know what they be doing.
- 0:31Speaker 3: We don't know.
- 0:32Speaker 2: They'd be sitting at home. Cody Bellinger'd be like, well
- 0:34Speaker 2: I have to take less money, and Freddy Prosto's wouldn't
- 0:36Speaker 2: know until then. You have to wait till opening day
- 0:38Speaker 2: to be traded.
- 0:39Speaker 4: People would say, well, all these signings and trades would
- 0:42Speaker 4: have been done already. They wouldn't on December twentieth or whatever. Well,
- 0:47Speaker 4: instead we get to have fun. And the fun continues
- 0:50Speaker 4: this weekend with VIPs across New York City bundled up
- 0:55Speaker 4: inside the Hill In in New York City.
- 0:59Speaker 1: For the BBDA WAA Awards Gala.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Aj Prizinski on the stage presenting to that Guy, Drake Baldwin,
- 1:08Speaker 4: the Rookie of the Year, Nick Kurtz will be there.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Aaron Judge will be there, Shoe Hey Otani will be there,
- 1:12Speaker 4: Paul Skens will be there, Trek Scougle will be there.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I heard some other special guests that maybe I shouldn't say.
- 1:21Speaker 4: It will be there, So we're looking forward to it,
- 1:23Speaker 4: and our high video is cool. Props to Oliviyan, the
- 1:27Speaker 4: team behind the scenes, Michael, the whole fam working hard
- 1:32Speaker 4: right now.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I like that graphic a lot too.
- 1:34Speaker 4: It's the one hundred first edition and all three of
- 1:37Speaker 4: us will be there the only time of year where
- 1:39Speaker 4: we would be in suits and or tuxes. So we
- 1:43Speaker 4: look forward to that and to seeing our buddy Ken Rosenthal.
- 1:46Speaker 4: But for now, I want to make sure we have
- 1:48Speaker 4: time for this, so let's get to the big Boy trade.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Art.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Freddy Peralta is a New York met David Stern said,
- 2:00Speaker 4: hold it and go, Bobaschett, Luis Robert Freddie Peralta, in
- 2:06Speaker 4: addition to what they did earlier this offseason, how do
- 2:08Speaker 4: you like them?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Now? We'll see, Well, we have to see.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Listen.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I love the movies well because Okay. They lost Nimoh,
- 2:16Speaker 2: they lost mc neil, sime and they brought in He's
- 2:19Speaker 2: coming off a couple down years in a row. Bobachett
- 2:22Speaker 2: not known for his defense. Wasn't it all about run prevention?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Boba Sheet's not known for his defense.
- 2:27Speaker 4: He should be better at third and second than he
- 2:30Speaker 4: is at shortstop. They have four short stops on the infield.
- 2:32Speaker 4: I'm not saying they're listen.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I think I love all these movies. First of all,
- 2:35Speaker 2: I listen as a as a fan of baseball. I
- 2:39Speaker 2: love these movies. I love Bobachhett move because I think
- 2:41Speaker 2: he'll help their lineup. Luise Robert. They get one year,
- 2:44Speaker 2: no risk. I mean, twenty million dollars is into the Mets.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Is not a lot of money just to most people,
- 2:49Speaker 2: but not the Mets. Okay, and they get a motivated
- 2:51Speaker 2: Luise Robert Jr. Because it's his free agent year.
- 2:54Speaker 1: No that part, I'm gonna stop you.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Okay, Sorry, he has a club.
- 2:58Speaker 1: People got so pissed on he said that yesterday. Sorry,
- 3:00Speaker 1: it's improved, it's approve it right. They could keep him
- 3:03Speaker 1: for one more year.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's not up to him.
- 3:05Speaker 1: People were like human, I'm like relax, we already went over.
- 3:08Speaker 2: The option whatever. Anyways, So he has a club option,
- 3:11Speaker 2: but he wants them probably to pick it up because
- 3:13Speaker 2: if he plays out, because if he plays poorly, guess what,
- 3:16Speaker 2: They're not going to pick it up. He's out the door. Now,
- 3:17Speaker 2: if he plays well, they'll pick it up. And he
- 3:19Speaker 2: still hits free agency like thirty years twenty nine, I think,
- 3:21Speaker 2: so he hited at thirty.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got to start proving it.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yes, So he needs to prove it for this year again.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Okay, big deal.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And then the Freddie Parol to deal with the way
- 3:28Speaker 2: he pitched last year and the way he is in
- 3:30Speaker 2: a clubhouse and the way he just happens to be
- 3:32Speaker 2: as a human being, and he put him at the
- 3:34Speaker 2: front of that rotation. I love it. Now the National
- 3:38Speaker 2: League is a bitch because you got the Phillies the
- 3:42Speaker 2: match the Braves should be better. Oh yeah, there's a
- 3:44Speaker 2: team called the Cubs that did some stuff. And then
- 3:47Speaker 2: there's the big, big bad Dodgers at the end that
- 3:51Speaker 2: you have to get through to get just to get
- 3:52Speaker 2: to the World Series. So listen. I love what the
- 3:55Speaker 2: Mets are doing. I love how they pivoted from Kyle Tucker,
- 3:57Speaker 2: and they made all these other moves. He can call
- 3:59Speaker 2: it signing Bobushitt, but I like that move. And now
- 4:02Speaker 2: here they are and they got a chance, but they
- 4:04Speaker 2: got to prove it.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Oh Man also crats the Cubs just one big on
- 4:08Speaker 4: this trade.
- 4:10Speaker 1: See you out of the division.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Yeah, seventeen wins just left the division. Tina won ninety
- 4:16Speaker 3: seven games. You lose the guy who wins seventeen of them. Yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 3: big loss for the Brewers. Upgrade for the Central. The
- 4:25Speaker 3: Pirates are like, hey, we don't have to face them anymore.
- 4:28Speaker 3: The Phillies are like, all right, well, we couldn't figure
- 4:31Speaker 3: out how to hit the Mets before. Now they actually
- 4:34Speaker 3: added like a really good pitcher. It's gonna probably be
- 4:36Speaker 3: a little bit tougher. But Freddie p took that next
- 4:40Speaker 3: step last year this past season, you know, really kind
- 4:44Speaker 3: of figuring out how to pitch. And he found more
- 4:48Speaker 3: success figuring out how to pitch in the sense that,
- 4:50Speaker 3: like he didn't have to empty his clip in the
- 4:53Speaker 3: first inning. He could figure out how to mitigate through
- 4:56Speaker 3: the lineup and then start working in and when it
- 5:00Speaker 3: it was a bigger situation. His best pitches that fastball
- 5:04Speaker 3: up in the zone that cutter that's or the fastball
- 5:06Speaker 3: that's cutting a little bit more. And so I think
- 5:09Speaker 3: the Mets are getting a fully refined pitcher who has
- 5:13Speaker 3: figured out how to throw thirty to thirty two starts.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Freddy praulta won, Nolan mcclaimed two and then a mix
- 5:21Speaker 4: of David Peterson, Clay Holmes, Sean Maniyah and Koda Sanga
- 5:25Speaker 4: much better.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Short, short, short, You want one more?
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they need one more.
- 5:31Speaker 2: You forget Jonah Tang, Oh.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Jonahtan Right. I mean I don't think he'll start
- 5:35Speaker 4: the year off up there. I think he'll be back
- 5:37Speaker 4: in the minors, but projects his potential range.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Forget Tobias not a high end starter in the future.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Let's let's not forget Tobias.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Miners.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he's had some good moments. He has
- 5:50Speaker 2: in twenty four he was really good for the Brewers.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I think he lost a little favor because I don't
- 5:55Speaker 2: know what they kind of thought at him. Obviously they
- 5:57Speaker 2: said him a triple A last year, but I think
- 5:59Speaker 2: that he.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Also yeah, up and down five times.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, he lost the strike zone and they lost a
- 6:05Speaker 2: little confidence in them. And listen again for the Mets.
- 6:10Speaker 2: They give up Jet Williams and Brandon sprote. Does it
- 6:14Speaker 2: hurt him? They have a good farm system, they're outfield
- 6:18Speaker 2: set now their starting rotation is better and plus for
- 6:21Speaker 2: those guys Jet Williams and Brandon's prog guess what they
- 6:23Speaker 2: get to go do? They're going to the big leagues.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I mean, let's I would think unless something crazy happens.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Jet probably not right up the jump, but soon.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably gonna maybe be in the rotation from
- 6:34Speaker 2: the jump. Could be.
- 6:37Speaker 4: The Mets didn't have to give up their tippy top though.
- 6:39Speaker 4: I mean, McLean's already a big leaguer. But Joonah Toong
- 6:42Speaker 4: is definitely rated higher than Brandon sprote. Carson Benge is
- 6:46Speaker 4: their top position player prospect. Jet Williams a really nice player.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I like this return for the Brewers better than their
- 6:53Speaker 4: Corbyn Burns return. They got Joey Ortiz Dale Hall in
- 6:57Speaker 4: a pick. I don't remember who he is to pick on.
- 7:00Speaker 4: I'll have to look back on that part. But if
- 7:03Speaker 4: we're matching up those two players and these two players,
- 7:06Speaker 4: I think that the upside is higher for these two players.
- 7:12Speaker 4: So it's a nice return. But hey, we were talking
- 7:14Speaker 4: a lot about the Yankees yesterday. Spencer Jones and Will
- 7:19Speaker 4: Warren probably would have gotten this done. So I'm curious
- 7:22Speaker 4: to find out what their final offer was. They were
- 7:24Speaker 4: in on trying to get Freddy p the Dodgers, among
- 7:28Speaker 4: many other teams.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Anybody could have.
- 7:32Speaker 2: You said, it doesn't get it done. Will Warren and
- 7:33Speaker 2: Spencer Jones.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I said that.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Oh no, I said that was too much. And guess
- 7:39Speaker 4: what I think the Yankees did too. That package is
- 7:42Speaker 4: better than what the Mets would have offered just now.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Spencer Jones has higher upside than Jet Williams, and Will
- 7:48Speaker 4: Warren's a more proven starter with I think a higher
- 7:51Speaker 4: upside as a starter than Brendan sprote So anybody could
- 7:56Speaker 4: have had him. Krats, I want to throw that out there.
- 7:58Speaker 4: It's like, oh, it's no fair. First of all, the Mets,
- 8:00Speaker 4: I've made the playoffs to it the last three years.
- 8:02Speaker 4: But Freddy Parolta costs eight million dollars. And also, I
- 8:05Speaker 4: do want to push back later on, when we talked
- 8:07Speaker 4: to Kurt Hoague for the Brewer side of things, the
- 8:11Speaker 4: Brewers could afford Freddy.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Peralta in their payroll.
- 8:15Speaker 4: They just choose to trade guys away when they're a
- 8:17Speaker 4: year or two from free agency. Not Willie Domas, but
- 8:21Speaker 4: most others get dealt They don't have to do that.
- 8:24Speaker 4: They choose to not fully push chips in on a
- 8:26Speaker 4: year and year out basis. So we might be at
- 8:29Speaker 4: a point next postseason where we're like, ah, they're a
- 8:33Speaker 4: starter short, and you're like, man, they could use a
- 8:35Speaker 4: Freddy Peralta or several years ago. Ah, they're a starter short.
- 8:39Speaker 4: They need a one, oh Corbyn Burns. But that's the
- 8:43Speaker 4: choice that they make to keep pushing it forward. Is
- 8:46Speaker 4: it worth it?
- 8:47Speaker 2: You know what?
- 8:49Speaker 1: In my mind, Kratz, I don't know if it's worth it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Was it worth it for them?
- 8:53Speaker 4: Does Corbin Burns change their season versus what Dale Hall
- 8:57Speaker 4: and Joey Ortiz are bringing to them?
- 9:03Speaker 3: I mean, they stayed in the playoffs, so I get
- 9:05Speaker 3: the argument. But I can only go by like my
- 9:08Speaker 3: own view as a player. And I've told this story
- 9:12Speaker 3: before twenty eighteen. They asked me, would you trade At
- 9:16Speaker 3: the time, Corbyn Burns and Big Wu Brandon Woodriff were
- 9:22Speaker 3: just coming up to the big leagues. They were integral
- 9:25Speaker 3: parts of our bullpen. But Big Wu, you know, wasn't
- 9:28Speaker 3: necessarily established yet, but he had a couple cups of coffee,
- 9:33Speaker 3: but he was on the roster and Corbyn Burns was
- 9:35Speaker 3: solidified into the bullpen. And they asked me, they say,
- 9:37Speaker 3: would you trade those two guys for two months of
- 9:42Speaker 3: Jacob deGrom? And I like, did the math in my head? Okay,
- 9:45Speaker 3: these guys would play whatever, throw this many innings. De
- 9:48Speaker 3: Grom would throw this many innings. At that point, everyone's like,
- 9:51Speaker 3: he's a cy young candidate. I'll tell you what. I
- 9:54Speaker 3: would love to have a ring in my closet from
- 9:58Speaker 3: the Brewers twenty eighteen team. And I think Jacob de
- 10:02Speaker 3: Grom being an extra starter with Jolie's chess scene, with
- 10:06Speaker 3: you know, the other guys that we were running out there,
- 10:11Speaker 3: I would like to have that ring. And if you
- 10:12Speaker 3: think that guy gets you that ring, then you keep
- 10:15Speaker 3: Freddy Peralta. If they don't, maybe that's why they trade
- 10:18Speaker 3: them and they say, hey, you know what, it's not
- 10:20Speaker 3: worth sticking with this guy and going all in for
- 10:23Speaker 3: this season.
- 10:25Speaker 4: There's a steadiness from many front offices to maintain I
- 10:30Speaker 4: don't want to say status quo, but it's like, hey,
- 10:32Speaker 4: let's just be competitive let's take another bite.
- 10:34Speaker 2: A lot of you know, a lot of front officers say, oh,
- 10:36Speaker 2: if we can just get in, we don't necessarily need
- 10:38Speaker 2: to win. If we just get in, it'll appease everybody,
- 10:41Speaker 2: keeps my job. Hey, look, we got into the playoff.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Like I use the Reds for example, Right, the Reds
- 10:47Speaker 2: got in this year. Now you can say the Reds
- 10:50Speaker 2: played great or the Mets joke, depending on what fan
- 10:53Speaker 2: base you're a fan of. Right, they had no chance
- 10:57Speaker 2: against the Dodgers. I mean they got. They got bushwhacked
- 11:01Speaker 2: twice by them in those two games. I mean they got. However,
- 11:04Speaker 2: whatever you want to say, right, sure, and so is
- 11:08Speaker 2: it just good enough that they got into a piece
- 11:10Speaker 2: of the fan base and a piece and say, hey
- 11:12Speaker 2: we got in with eighty three wins, look at us
- 11:14Speaker 2: or how many of I don't know how many wins
- 11:15Speaker 2: it was. Whatever it was, wasn't anymore than that, Hey guys,
- 11:18Speaker 2: we got in, look at us. Go right, or do
- 11:22Speaker 2: you need to be the team that is saying all right,
- 11:24Speaker 2: we need to We actually are trying to win the
- 11:26Speaker 2: World Series, not just like oh if we get in,
- 11:29Speaker 2: we never know, Like the diamond, Like everyone looks at
- 11:31Speaker 2: the Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks got in, they beat the Phillies and
- 11:34Speaker 2: then they lost to the Rangers in the World Series.
- 11:36Speaker 1: They had a chance, they had a chance.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Right, but how many times does that really happen?
- 11:39Speaker 4: And wait, this honestly happened, but you just actually teed
- 11:44Speaker 4: me up. The Diamondbacks were very much in the running
- 11:48Speaker 4: for Jordan Montgomery and didn't offer the prospect capital win
- 11:51Speaker 4: them over in a trade. Jordan Montgomery is part of
- 11:54Speaker 4: the Rangers who beat the Diamondbacks in the World Series,
- 11:57Speaker 4: and it is the one move that Mike Haysen still
- 11:59Speaker 4: says it five times on this show. He kicks himself
- 12:02Speaker 4: about Montgomery was a dude in that postseason?
- 12:05Speaker 2: How many World Series are the Brewers won?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Zero?
- 12:09Speaker 2: Okay, I'll use the Mariners from last year. I'm sure
- 12:11Speaker 2: there was a move out there in this and they
- 12:12Speaker 2: were very good. They were really close to beating the
- 12:14Speaker 2: Blue Jays and all that. You know, one hanging slider
- 12:17Speaker 2: away from beating the Blue Jays. Right, Let's say they
- 12:19Speaker 2: would have made one more move. Now, I don't know
- 12:21Speaker 2: what that move is. You know they went and nailed
- 12:23Speaker 2: they got score as Okay, whatever that move is.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Duran Okay, fine.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Pick pick pick, I must again and they get to
- 12:30Speaker 2: the World Series and they win that World Series.
- 12:31Speaker 5: All the prospects they traded away. Don't you think that
- 12:35Speaker 5: anybody gives a shit. Nope, not one person gives a
- 12:38Speaker 5: shit about that. Oh, because then the next year they
- 12:40Speaker 5: might not beat. Three years from now, they might not
- 12:41Speaker 5: be as good. Nobody cares, I promise you nobody cares.
- 12:45Speaker 4: Yeah, if the Brewers win a World Series, you can
- 12:47Speaker 4: be bad for the next five years and say hey,
- 12:49Speaker 4: we had to tear it down and start up and whatever,
- 12:52Speaker 4: and fans would be like, cool, we want a freaking world.
- 12:54Speaker 2: And also, like everyone looks at the Tatis for James Shield,
- 12:57Speaker 2: that's like the ultimate like, oh, we didn't win. Why
- 13:00Speaker 2: I can't believe we made that move. Well, the reason
- 13:03Speaker 2: it looks at such a bad move is because the
- 13:05Speaker 2: White Sox never became good after that, and they gave
- 13:07Speaker 2: up a player that they could have had for the
- 13:08Speaker 2: next ten to twelve years. That's why that they never won.
- 13:11Speaker 2: If the White Suxs would have gone out and won
- 13:13Speaker 2: with that team that they had with Sale and all
- 13:15Speaker 2: those guys before that, and people would have been like,
- 13:17Speaker 2: oh man, that was totally worth it shields. Look how
- 13:19Speaker 2: good Big game James was for us and this and that.
- 13:22Speaker 2: But because he never worked out and they didn't go
- 13:24Speaker 2: anywhere in the postseason, people were like, oh, what a
- 13:26Speaker 2: bad trade.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Or all this Chapman for labor Torres all day.
- 13:31Speaker 2: And the Yankees never won with because of that trade.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Right, they didn't win a World Series with him?
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yankees had won a World series.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and the modern movie now.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Year they weren't winning with tourret or Chapman.
- 13:41Speaker 4: No, the modern move they bring up is peek Row
- 13:43Speaker 4: Armstrong and the Hobby Bayas deal.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But also, sometimes you just make a bad deal. What happens,
- 13:48Speaker 1: It's life. Hey, they talked about this on Mets Dog.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Come on, but the Mets thought they were gonna win
- 13:52Speaker 2: that year.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That's why, Right, you're going for it.
- 13:56Speaker 4: You gotta believe, That's what they say on this show
- 13:59Speaker 4: part of the Network. They have an episode that dropped
- 14:02Speaker 4: late last night about the freddie P trade. We're going
- 14:04Speaker 4: to talk more about the freddie Pe acquisition for the Mets,
- 14:07Speaker 4: with their former GM Jim Duqutt joining us later in
- 14:11Speaker 4: the show.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Let's go to the Brewer side of the equation.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Beat reporter Kurt ho back on FT Kurt,
- 14:20Speaker 4: let's keep the combo rolling here. What is the aftermath
- 14:25Speaker 4: for the Brewers and their fan base after they trade
- 14:28Speaker 4: a b loved number one starter?
- 14:30Speaker 6: Yet again, it's interesting, I like how you start that
- 14:36Speaker 6: off too, their trading the beloved started, because if you
- 14:39Speaker 6: think about these deals they've made in the past, it's
- 14:42Speaker 6: all all star, high level. These dudes are going to
- 14:45Speaker 6: get tons of money in free agency pictures with Josh
- 14:47Speaker 6: and Corbin and Devin. But Freddy was here the longest.
- 14:50Speaker 6: He maybe had the biggest impact in the clubhouse, might
- 14:53Speaker 6: have been the favorite with the fans. So that adds
- 14:58Speaker 6: a wrinkle to the that some of the other trades
- 15:01Speaker 6: they've made haven't had. You remember they held on to
- 15:03Speaker 6: Willia Damas in part because of his impact on the clubhouse.
- 15:08Speaker 6: So that part is for sure a new wrinkle that
- 15:13Speaker 6: we haven't necessarily seen to this level in the.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Last couple of trades.
- 15:17Speaker 6: But also I was just talking to a couple other
- 15:20Speaker 6: writers from around the league and they're like, well, how
- 15:22Speaker 6: are the fans taking this one this morning? And I
- 15:24Speaker 6: was like, dudey fans in Milwaukee, they've been in the
- 15:27Speaker 6: trenches for a few years. This is nothing new. They're
- 15:31Speaker 6: like excited about the prospects they got. For the most part,
- 15:33Speaker 6: I think there is some disdain that the Brewers haven't,
- 15:38Speaker 6: you know, year after year they.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Haven't gone and made a big move.
- 15:41Speaker 6: But ultimately, right, I think we're at a part of
- 15:45Speaker 6: this process where fans have begun to Joel Embiid trust
- 15:51Speaker 6: the process. That seems to be where we are now.
- 15:54Speaker 6: Like I think of the reaction when they traded Corbin
- 15:56Speaker 6: to the reaction when they traded Freddy was very, very different.
- 16:01Speaker 6: It's it's almost like people have just become accustomed to, Hey,
- 16:04Speaker 6: this is what they're gonna do.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Oh and by the way, next year, William.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Conturis, you got a year left on your contract. Guess what, buddy,
- 16:10Speaker 6: there's gonna be offers.
- 16:13Speaker 3: All right, Well, would those fans that trust the process,
- 16:16Speaker 3: By the way, I live in Philadelphia, so that never
- 16:19Speaker 3: worked out. They haven't won or come close to winning
- 16:22Speaker 3: a championship. Would the fans trade eight straight playoff appearances
- 16:28Speaker 3: for one World Series?
- 16:31Speaker 6: Yes, of course, no doubt. You trade twenty playoff appearances
- 16:38Speaker 6: for one World Series? I think most fans would. Royals
- 16:41Speaker 6: fans would.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. But but the thing is, then, so
- 16:47Speaker 3: does this Is this a signification? Does this signify that
- 16:52Speaker 3: the Brewers' front office does not believe this team was
- 16:55Speaker 3: good enough with Freddy to win the World Series?
- 16:59Speaker 1: No?
- 16:59Speaker 6: I think if you're looking at it from the Brewers
- 17:01Speaker 6: front office side, it signifies they believe they're good enough
- 17:04Speaker 6: without Freddie Peralta to.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Have a chance.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Now, you can argue all you want about whether having
- 17:11Speaker 6: a chance really means, in this day and age of baseball,
- 17:15Speaker 6: that you actually have a chance. I mean, we haven't
- 17:17Speaker 6: seen a true small market team win since when. Oh,
- 17:21Speaker 6: I guess the Royals, Yeah, toils and fifteen.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Talks, not the White.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Martirs, like sixty million small market bro the market.
- 17:36Speaker 6: Yes, I mean that tiny town of Chicago, seven miles
- 17:40Speaker 6: south of the year.
- 17:42Speaker 3: That's where all the sewer That's where all the sewer
- 17:44Speaker 3: sewer treatment stuff runs down from Milwaukee. Just so people
- 17:47Speaker 3: in Chicago.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Know, Wow, shots fired? Okay anyways, Yeah, I mean the Brewers.
- 17:53Speaker 6: The Brewers, the Brewer, the Brewis and their fans absolutely
- 17:55Speaker 6: would trade ten playoff appearances for one World Series. The
- 18:00Speaker 6: Brewers are coming at this though from the perspective in
- 18:04Speaker 6: the angle of having those ten playoffs gives you the
- 18:08Speaker 6: better chance of winning a World Series. Then making a
- 18:13Speaker 6: big splash that might decrease your chance of making the playoffs,
- 18:17Speaker 6: and you know, maybe then you only get three or
- 18:19Speaker 6: four shots at the playoffs. You could argue that that's
- 18:23Speaker 6: correct or not. Obviously it hasn't worked out for them yet.
- 18:25Speaker 6: They haven't gotten the World Series since nineteen eighty two.
- 18:28Speaker 6: They did make the NLCS last year and got smoked
- 18:30Speaker 6: by the Dodgers, but that's where they're coming from. They
- 18:33Speaker 6: won ninety seven games last year, So there's I don't know,
- 18:36Speaker 6: there's just a bit of like a disconnect. Right on one
- 18:39Speaker 6: side of my brain believes this team won ninety seven
- 18:42Speaker 6: games last year. I saw them sweep the Dodgers in
- 18:44Speaker 6: the regular season. There's no reason that they couldn't have
- 18:46Speaker 6: won a series against them and the postseason. On the
- 18:49Speaker 6: other side of your brain's like, well, they've been to
- 18:51Speaker 6: the playoffs on six seven times since twenty eighteen when
- 18:54Speaker 6: Cratzy was there, and they've got no World Series.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Appearances to show for it.
- 18:58Speaker 6: So that is that is the disconnect that the Brewers
- 19:03Speaker 6: provide to our brains.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Okay, Kurt, Well, then how much can they take? You
- 19:08Speaker 2: keep saying they're used to it, They're used to it,
- 19:09Speaker 2: They're used to it, the fans are used to it.
- 19:11Speaker 2: The Brewers keep doing this. How much can they take?
- 19:13Speaker 2: Because the team we're down south where Kratz says, you know,
- 19:17Speaker 2: all the sewage goes to, has improved, right, and they
- 19:21Speaker 2: had their chances. They kind of lost Kyle Tucker at
- 19:23Speaker 2: the end last year the Cubs, but they've improved their team.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I think you can't argue that they've improved their team
- 19:28Speaker 2: and the Brewers have lost their best pitcher. Now. I
- 19:30Speaker 2: know they're getting Brandon Woods are back and he's supposed
- 19:33Speaker 2: to be healthy, but how much can they take until
- 19:36Speaker 2: the rest of the division says, Okay, Milwaukee, we've watched
- 19:38Speaker 2: you this long enough. We're going to take the next step.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Now.
- 19:42Speaker 6: Winning fixes a lot of a lot of problems. I
- 19:45Speaker 6: think the last few offseasons people weren't taking it. They
- 19:49Speaker 6: were upset that you know, they trade Corbin, they trade
- 19:54Speaker 6: Devin and obviously the Hater trade was was super fire
- 20:00Speaker 6: when they made that deal. So but I think we're
- 20:02Speaker 6: at the point now where, look, if the Brewers go
- 20:04Speaker 6: out and they win ninety three games Again, They'll be
- 20:08Speaker 6: in fine shape with the fan base here. So how
- 20:12Speaker 6: much can they take it all depends on how much
- 20:15Speaker 6: they keep on winning. Look, I think you have to
- 20:18Speaker 6: even the biggest skeptic, even the most ardent supporter of
- 20:23Speaker 6: the Brewers spending more money that they need to make
- 20:25Speaker 6: a big trade or go get a big free agent.
- 20:28Speaker 6: I think you'd have to argue that what they're doing
- 20:31Speaker 6: minus the World Series, the process has been pretty clean.
- 20:40Speaker 3: And this is and I mean, I think the one
- 20:41Speaker 3: thing that people need to understand is Freddy signed a
- 20:45Speaker 3: deal early, so they did a good job of signing
- 20:48Speaker 3: him early. They signed Yelly early. Back before Yelly it
- 20:52Speaker 3: was bronze. So they have their they have their vision
- 20:56Speaker 3: out there of who they would sign. Does that we
- 21:00Speaker 3: need to change and say, Okay, we're not going to
- 21:01Speaker 3: do that. We're going to push our chips in one direction.
- 21:05Speaker 3: That would be that like we said that one year,
- 21:08Speaker 3: which we keep, which I keep going back to, I.
- 21:13Speaker 6: Would say they need to keep doing that, and then
- 21:17Speaker 6: add on in other areas like signing Jackson Curio before
- 21:22Speaker 6: he makes.
- 21:22Speaker 2: His big league debut.
- 21:24Speaker 6: Is how you get Jackson Curio's prime, So go extend
- 21:29Speaker 6: Bryce terrang go extend South frielick someone along those lines,
- 21:35Speaker 6: and then find a move where you actually are giving
- 21:39Speaker 6: up some assets they have. I mean, you could argue
- 21:43Speaker 6: they have the best farm system in baseball. A team
- 21:45Speaker 6: that's coming off ninety seven win season last year might
- 21:48Speaker 6: have the best farm in baseball. That's great, and that's
- 21:52Speaker 6: central to how they build going forward. But they haven't
- 21:55Speaker 6: dealt really from their prospect capital since Oh boy, maybe
- 22:00Speaker 6: the I mean the Yelich deal is really the last
- 22:03Speaker 6: big tray that they've made that that comes to mind.
- 22:06Speaker 6: So I don't know, if there haven't been opportunities, you
- 22:09Speaker 6: would think there would have been opportunities in some capacity
- 22:12Speaker 6: to I don't know, go out and pay twenty million
- 22:15Speaker 6: to get Luis Robert or something along those lines. Because
- 22:18Speaker 6: they're not going to go They're not gonna get Boba Shat.
- 22:21Speaker 6: They're gonna get Ree Hoskins when Ree Hoskins' market is low.
- 22:24Speaker 6: It's that sort of you know, value, we're taking advantage
- 22:28Speaker 6: of the market deal. That's where they're going to work
- 22:30Speaker 6: in free agency.
- 22:31Speaker 2: But yeah, you're just banking.
- 22:33Speaker 6: A lot on your internal evaluations and your internal player development.
- 22:37Speaker 6: And look, they're great at both of those things. But
- 22:40Speaker 6: again it's this question of, Okay, what's the cap to
- 22:43Speaker 6: that when you've got an entire rotation of twenty four
- 22:47Speaker 6: to twenty five year old guys.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Kurt, what's the ultimate goal of a team in their sport?
- 22:53Speaker 2: What's the ultimate goal?
- 22:56Speaker 6: You tell me aj you played.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Baseball. Isn't it to win the World Series? To win
- 23:03Speaker 2: the whole thing? Okay? So but then you said, well,
- 23:07Speaker 2: they keep, you know, being good enough to get in,
- 23:10Speaker 2: and they hadn't won a playoff series in forever, and listen,
- 23:14Speaker 2: the fans were clamoring this year for the Brewers, like
- 23:18Speaker 2: we got them. And when you talk to Murf, you
- 23:19Speaker 2: talk to Murph all the time. When we get in, Man,
- 23:22Speaker 2: we gotta win. We gotta win because we don't know
- 23:24Speaker 2: how many more chances we're gonna have it this So
- 23:26Speaker 2: is it good enough that they just keep getting in?
- 23:29Speaker 2: Is it good enough? Is that what the goal is?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Because we just had this conversation before you came in
- 23:34Speaker 2: the air, The ultimate goal is to win the World Series,
- 23:36Speaker 2: not to get like great, you got to the postseason.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Cool Twins got to the postseason every year, like in
- 23:41Speaker 2: the two thousand and tens or two thousand and two
- 23:44Speaker 2: tens and never won a playoff series? Right, So is
- 23:48Speaker 2: it good enough that the Brewers keep making the playoffs
- 23:50Speaker 2: but they never get the ultimate prize?
- 23:53Speaker 6: I mean, I don't think it's exactly like a black
- 23:57Speaker 6: and white. Is it good and it's it's no, it's
- 23:59Speaker 6: not good enough to make the playoffs every year and
- 24:03Speaker 6: fall short of the ultimate goal. If you're talking about
- 24:05Speaker 6: in terms of the ultimate goal, there's a lot else
- 24:07Speaker 6: that goes into the process and into the daily grind
- 24:11Speaker 6: of baseball, in my opinion, and having a competitive team
- 24:14Speaker 6: each year certainly is somewhere between like zero and the
- 24:20Speaker 6: absolute complete goal. And it's also worth mentioning too. Right,
- 24:25Speaker 6: the Brewers might be better in two next I mean
- 24:30Speaker 6: they will be better next year because they've made this deal.
- 24:34Speaker 6: We can't say for sure how many wins they've subtracted
- 24:37Speaker 6: from their twenty twenty six team because they don't have
- 24:41Speaker 6: Freddie Parolta. I mean last year this you know, look
- 24:43Speaker 6: at Kayleb dirt No one had any idea what Kayleb
- 24:45Speaker 6: Dirtin was gonna do last year and he ended up
- 24:47Speaker 6: finishing what third, I think it was third and rookie
- 24:49Speaker 6: of the year voting, so weird things can happen, and
- 24:54Speaker 6: the Brewers did get two guys that they think will
- 24:57Speaker 6: contribute at the big league level and ultimately, like the
- 25:00Speaker 6: their future wins do matter too, even if it's not
- 25:04Speaker 6: as rewarding or satisfying as you know, having that frontline
- 25:08Speaker 6: ace that you can turn to thirty two times a year.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think twenty twenty
- 25:14Speaker 3: four's picture of the year for the Brewers was Tobias
- 25:18Speaker 3: Bias Myers.
- 25:19Speaker 6: You traded your last two pictures of the year.
- 25:23Speaker 3: So the Mets on the Mets side of this, what
- 25:25Speaker 3: are they getting in Tobias Myers from what you saw
- 25:28Speaker 3: last year? Was there some It felt like the things
- 25:32Speaker 3: I was reading is maybe there were some just butting
- 25:35Speaker 3: of heads with then not the same production on the
- 25:39Speaker 3: field by Tobias Myers.
- 25:41Speaker 6: I wouldn't say it was butting of heads. I would
- 25:43Speaker 6: just say the circumstances didn't ever allow for him to
- 25:48Speaker 6: thrive the way he did in twenty twenty.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Four as a rookie.
- 25:51Speaker 6: Right, he got hurt early in the year, some struggles
- 25:54Speaker 6: with command earlier in the year as well when he
- 25:57Speaker 6: came back, and we have I'm a here, I'm a
- 25:59Speaker 6: here once to talk about Tobias Meyers, hi friend. So
- 26:04Speaker 6: it ultimately just didn't work out for him. He but
- 26:08Speaker 6: what's interesting though, is his profile now is different than
- 26:11Speaker 6: it was when he had that three E r A
- 26:13Speaker 6: as a rookie. But the splitters a really good addition
- 26:16Speaker 6: to his mix, and the Mets have had on the
- 26:19Speaker 6: second and the Mets have had good success with some
- 26:21Speaker 6: of those North South guys, So that that's a that's
- 26:25Speaker 6: a that's a good throw in if he's a throw
- 26:27Speaker 6: into the deal.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Hey, Kurt, are the are the Brewers better now this year?
- 26:32Speaker 2: Do you think with the addition of Sprote and Jet Williams?
- 26:35Speaker 2: Do you think? I don't think sure. I mean year
- 26:41Speaker 2: miles an hour obviously at the University of Florida, so
- 26:43Speaker 2: he's going to be a stud. Jet Williams is one
- 26:45Speaker 2: of the top prospects in the Mets organization. Where do
- 26:48Speaker 2: they fit on this roster?
- 26:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 26:51Speaker 6: I mean I don't think they're better this year, but
- 26:52Speaker 6: there is a world in which those guys equal. You
- 26:55Speaker 6: know what you would have gotten from Freddie? I think
- 26:57Speaker 6: sprot one second, my friend, Uh, hang up on us,
- 27:04Speaker 6: let me talk about Brandon sprout and then okay, and
- 27:08Speaker 6: then yes, all right, Brandon Sprot's got good stuff. I
- 27:11Speaker 6: got literal other stuff to deal with.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Catch you guys later.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Thanks, Thanks, Kurt, appreciate you man. Thanks for the time. Uh,
- 27:22Speaker 4: Kurt Hogue with us. Hey, you want to know more
- 27:24Speaker 4: about Brandon's bru three year old doesn't? Kurt actually said
- 27:31Speaker 4: I'll come on today, but warning, I've got daddy duty.
- 27:34Speaker 4: So when time calls and she shall does not understand ft, Yes.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Hey, she didn't hang out my niece. My niece at
- 27:45Speaker 1: that age knew what to do.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Red button, always, red button, find it, hit it next,
- 27:51Speaker 4: then you get rid of that person on the screen.
- 27:54Speaker 4: So anyway, uh, we could talk Sproke for a moment.
- 27:59Speaker 4: I mean, he was one of the three called up
- 28:01Speaker 4: by the Mets last year to try and rescue their season, right,
- 28:06Speaker 4: he was the third one. Nolan McLean is definitely the
- 28:10Speaker 4: best prospect of those three. Jonah Toong has high upside
- 28:14Speaker 4: to be a legit playoff starter. Brandon Sprot was more
- 28:17Speaker 4: of the question mark. It's a little older too, I
- 28:19Speaker 4: think than the other two, so I think there's a
- 28:22Speaker 4: little more variance between But for him to.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Say that Sprot and Jet Williams can make up for
- 28:26Speaker 2: Freddy Parolton, I'm like, come on.
- 28:28Speaker 1: No, no, no, you miss Can I back him up?
- 28:31Speaker 1: He said? Next year?
- 28:32Speaker 2: Oh well, neck, what about this year?
- 28:34Speaker 3: This year?
- 28:34Speaker 4: No, of course, they're going to be worse without a
- 28:36Speaker 4: number one. I mean you would imagine unless Freddy doesn't
- 28:40Speaker 4: pitch or falls apart like the return, there is only
- 28:44Speaker 4: doing so much this year, and maybe Sprot becomes good.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Someone joked in our chat that I was in for
- 28:48Speaker 4: fair territory. How you know the Brewers are able to
- 28:50Speaker 4: find random dudes and turn him into something that's true.
- 28:54Speaker 4: They've done a nice job on their pitching development, and
- 28:56Speaker 4: Brandon Sprot's not a random dude. But are they going
- 28:58Speaker 4: to turn him from a project acted four or five
- 29:01Speaker 4: into a one or two?
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't know about that.
- 29:06Speaker 3: No, I mean I think what he said was very accurate.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Nobody thinks about twenty twenty seven season. When you just
- 29:15Speaker 3: lost your best pitcher, the ace of your staff, you go.
- 29:19Speaker 3: But what he said was they're better. They're better in
- 29:22Speaker 3: twenty twenty seven than they would have been if they
- 29:24Speaker 3: had kept Freddy Peralta, which is really how front offices think. Okay,
- 29:35Speaker 3: I was a fan, I'm like, well, what about this year,
- 29:36Speaker 3: why don't we just keep Freddy for eight million?
- 29:38Speaker 1: I agree. I couldn't agree more. I think I don't know.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Maybe I obviously don't look at it long term because
- 29:43Speaker 2: as a fan and as a person that likes baseball,
- 29:45Speaker 2: you're like, what about twenty twenty six, We're about to
- 29:47Speaker 2: go into twenty twenty six spring train? What do I
- 29:49Speaker 2: care about twenty twenty seven, twenty twenty eight. Now I
- 29:51Speaker 2: know for an officers have to look at it like that,
- 29:53Speaker 2: and also front offices. That's how they keep their job
- 29:55Speaker 2: because they say, well, we'll be great in twenty twenty
- 29:57Speaker 2: eight when Hey, sus Made and Jackson Curio and Wilson
- 30:02Speaker 2: and Travis is on another team and Brandon Spruge is
- 30:04Speaker 2: our ace and Mizowski figures out figures it out completely.
- 30:09Speaker 4: I just wanted to point out this is funny with
- 30:10Speaker 4: the Brewers roster. If you go to their like say
- 30:14Speaker 4: MLB roster page, and the heights are all listed there,
- 30:18Speaker 4: they're all super thinking. I don't think I've ever seen
- 30:21Speaker 4: more fives ever. Oh well in the last twenty years, right,
- 30:25Speaker 4: I mean they make faller than they used to. But dude,
- 30:29Speaker 4: that most of the rosters in the fives listed and
- 30:32Speaker 4: you know how listed what listed means in baseball? Right, Like,
- 30:36Speaker 4: isn't all two Vey listed like five six or seven?
- 30:38Speaker 4: He's five to four. So Jet Williams is listed five
- 30:41Speaker 4: to seven right now. And that was the big position
- 30:44Speaker 4: player acquisition. It's just funny. It doesn't mean that they're worse.
- 30:49Speaker 4: It's just they have a type, right, The Brewers have
- 30:52Speaker 4: a type so freely.
- 30:53Speaker 3: And that's what they find value.
- 30:55Speaker 2: That's what Yeah, that is where.
- 30:56Speaker 1: They find value.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Caleb Durban listed five to seven was a nice contributor
- 30:59Speaker 4: to them last year.
- 31:00Speaker 1: From that. Devin Williams strade the year before I.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Got I got hit up on Twitter a little bit
- 31:05Speaker 3: because I said, you know, Freddie p If the Brewers
- 31:09Speaker 3: keep Freddy p oh, yeah, now they're World Series favorites
- 31:14Speaker 3: over the Dodgers. Here's the thing about Freddie Pea's contract
- 31:18Speaker 3: at eight million dollars. And I know this wasn't gonna happen,
- 31:22Speaker 3: but I'm telling you about we're talking about like pushing
- 31:26Speaker 3: all in. What does that look like? It doesn't look
- 31:28Speaker 3: like going to get boba shet. What it looks like
- 31:31Speaker 3: is saying heyesus moday and I forget who they said
- 31:35Speaker 3: their second their second best picket or their second best
- 31:39Speaker 3: prospect is for Ark Scuble. What does that do I'm
- 31:44Speaker 3: not saying it's gonna happen, but what does that do?
- 31:47Speaker 5: That?
- 31:47Speaker 3: To me, that looks like all in, all in for
- 31:51Speaker 3: a guy who is eighteen years old in moday and
- 31:54Speaker 3: then the next the next level guy. To me, that
- 31:59Speaker 3: pushes the Brewers to that next level because you kept
- 32:05Speaker 3: Freddy because he was only eight million dollars. You weren't
- 32:07Speaker 3: stretched on your payroll one year of one year of Schooble.
- 32:12Speaker 3: If they don't, you know, if Major League Baseball doesn't
- 32:14Speaker 3: step in and just allows a team to pay Scooble
- 32:17Speaker 3: twenty seven million dollars a year, one year deal, I'm like,
- 32:21Speaker 3: it's not an extreme amount, but it is going all in.
- 32:28Speaker 4: And also save it that they can't do a single
- 32:31Speaker 4: thing every offseason.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Come on, the Brewers. They make the playoffs every year
- 32:35Speaker 2: and they get a huge boost, and they sell that
- 32:37Speaker 2: place out every every game, I mean not every They
- 32:39Speaker 2: run a great operation, run a great unbelievable they're choosing.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Not to participate, save it that they because they do
- 32:45Speaker 1: it again.
- 32:46Speaker 2: But this goes back to the whole thing that we
- 32:48Speaker 2: always talk about. Listen, we love the I love the Brewers,
- 32:50Speaker 2: I love Murph, I love Matt Arnold, I love Freddy.
- 32:53Speaker 2: While he was there, I mean, Big Wu is awesome.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Position players on Tenasio is a nice he does. But
- 33:01Speaker 2: now it's almost like you become to a point where
- 33:06Speaker 2: you try to be almost too cute and eventually catches
- 33:08Speaker 2: up to everybody, like no team could sustain without unless
- 33:11Speaker 2: you're the Dodgers and you can just spend spence spend.
- 33:13Speaker 2: The Yankees forever spend spence spence spen spent. But eventually
- 33:16Speaker 2: it catches up to you a little bit. Especially the
- 33:19Speaker 2: Rays have really good runs three four years and then
- 33:21Speaker 2: they kind of fall off, and then they have to
- 33:22Speaker 2: build back up and they do their runs again. Right
- 33:25Speaker 2: they're kind of on a lower one right now because
- 33:28Speaker 2: one wander Franco Is who knows where he is right now,
- 33:31Speaker 2: right right, And that was their big guy they signed,
- 33:32Speaker 2: and they were hoping he would be their franchise guy
- 33:34Speaker 2: for a long time. So eventually this catches up to you.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Just for the Brewers, they've been really good at it,
- 33:40Speaker 2: not catching up to him because they've been able to
- 33:41Speaker 2: develop really good pitchers, and they've traded for some position
- 33:45Speaker 2: players that have helped. They've developed some guys. But eventually
- 33:48Speaker 2: your luck runs out.
- 33:49Speaker 1: They claim they have to do this. You could have
- 33:51Speaker 1: had Freddy Petrini.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Why do you have to? Okay, if your payroll is
- 33:54Speaker 2: it whatever it was two years ago? I know they
- 33:56Speaker 2: went down like thirty million to twenty five and they
- 33:58Speaker 2: did it again. Was either in that moves to Mark
- 34:00Speaker 2: Antonasi the owner, Hey we can cut another twenty million
- 34:02Speaker 2: in win ninety four games and games and base I
- 34:06Speaker 2: know That's what I'm saying. So is it? Is it
- 34:08Speaker 2: fools gold? Though? Is it fools good?
- 34:12Speaker 4: My thing is at some point look and say, you
- 34:15Speaker 4: know what, we won the most games in baseball last year?
- 34:19Speaker 1: Are the Dodgers or drugger ornut? Yeah? Did they kick
- 34:21Speaker 1: our asses? Yeah?
- 34:22Speaker 4: But is there a chance that something happens to the
- 34:25Speaker 4: Dodgers and they're missing a bunch of their pitchers and
- 34:27Speaker 4: then we have a lane this.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Year four missing every starter and they still won.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:31Speaker 2: Oh, just checking. But again, I'm not saying this is
- 34:34Speaker 2: right or wrong. I'm just asking y'all because I don't know.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I just don't. I don't think it's the constant treading water.
- 34:39Speaker 4: I just think there's some times where you go, you
- 34:41Speaker 4: know what, we only have one year left of this superstar.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Let's have a time. That's what I would have done.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I don't think it's I don't think it's fools gold.
- 34:50Speaker 3: I think it's gold, but the ultimate prize is diamonds.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I think there's a I think there's a place to
- 34:58Speaker 3: say we are constantly making the play, and then to
- 35:01Speaker 3: say who is our next during this run from eighteen
- 35:06Speaker 3: till now? Who is our next? Freddie p who is
- 35:09Speaker 3: our next? Brandon Woodruff, who is our next? Corbyn Burns
- 35:13Speaker 3: because they've done an incredible job of putting guys around them,
- 35:17Speaker 3: jose Kintana, Jolie's Chassine, Chase Anderson like they've just been
- 35:22Speaker 3: putting guys all around them for that time. Colin Ray,
- 35:26Speaker 3: Adrian Hauser. That's when it runs out. It runs out
- 35:31Speaker 3: when you don't have that guy anymore. If Big Wu
- 35:34Speaker 3: comes back this year and is the guy that they
- 35:38Speaker 3: think he's gonna be, well now he's a free agent.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Now you don't get a qualifying offer from him. Now
- 35:44Speaker 3: you get like there's there's just a lot, there's a
- 35:48Speaker 3: lot of questions to ask and in my opinion, if
- 35:50Speaker 3: they don't see that guy, if if uh Misowski is
- 35:56Speaker 3: not that guy, then you have like this would have
- 36:02Speaker 3: been the year to say, yeah, we got to go
- 36:03Speaker 3: all in. We've got to go all in, and it's
- 36:06Speaker 3: going to cost us a future prospect or two. But
- 36:11Speaker 3: this is the guy that's gonna help put us over
- 36:13Speaker 3: with freddie Pee still on the staff, and we didn't
- 36:16Speaker 3: increase our payroll that much.
- 36:19Speaker 4: A couple of comments I want to mix in to
- 36:21Speaker 4: wrap up the Brewers side of the conversation here and
- 36:23Speaker 4: we'll talk Mets again later. Do me in the chats
- 36:26Speaker 4: that Brewers haven't gotten any TV revenue since twenty twenty two.
- 36:29Speaker 4: I believe that's not true at all, less TV revenue
- 36:32Speaker 4: local they all split the national deals.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Next one Ranger fan.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I think the way the Brewers operate is how they
- 36:40Speaker 4: feel they can sustain the run. If they want all in,
- 36:42Speaker 4: they do what Aj' saying, they'd have more up and
- 36:45Speaker 4: down year to year. Yeah, you would, and you would
- 36:47Speaker 4: have a better chance in the postseason of going further. Fact,
- 36:53Speaker 4: better chance they like their chances of making the playoffs
- 36:56Speaker 4: every year versus having a better chance in the postseason.
- 36:59Speaker 4: That's just their and then am cook in the chat.
- 37:02Speaker 4: The Brewers don't have to try. Reds and Pirates terrible owners,
- 37:05Speaker 4: Cardinals can't figure it out. Cubs for some reason don't
- 37:07Speaker 4: want to just bully the division with money. Okay, that's
- 37:11Speaker 4: a factor. I wouldn't call that the whole thing. I
- 37:14Speaker 4: think they they wanted to. Here's my question for all us,
- 37:17Speaker 4: for all Brewer fans out there, Yeah, two thousand and eight,
- 37:20Speaker 4: who did the Brewers go get to make a.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Run CC Sabathia.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Who did they give up in that trade?
- 37:26Speaker 3: Michaels, Matt Laporter.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Mal Laporta, I love, I know him very well.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Matcamill was he in there?
- 37:33Speaker 2: No? Zach Johnson, jack Zach Jackson, allow it? Rob Bryson,
- 37:40Speaker 2: Matt Laporta, and Michael Brantley. One guy was good, okay,
- 37:45Speaker 2: Michael Brandley was Is Michael Brandley gonna do more for
- 37:49Speaker 2: the Brewers than what CC Sabathia did in two thousand
- 37:51Speaker 2: and eight when they hadn't made the playoffs in like
- 37:53Speaker 2: twenty five years.
- 37:54Speaker 4: They still everyone still, even non Brewer fans still talk
- 37:56Speaker 4: about that two thousand and eight run.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Priceless.
- 38:00Speaker 3: One guy, one guy of all four of them had
- 38:03Speaker 3: a career. We were like, I kind of wish we
- 38:06Speaker 3: had him.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but CC for that one year where everything lined
- 38:12Speaker 2: up and it was unbelievable, and it kind of brought
- 38:14Speaker 2: Brewers fans back to loving the Brewers.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Yeah, for CC Sabathia, no doubt, it's the same. It's
- 38:22Speaker 4: the same thing we talked about at the top of
- 38:23Speaker 4: the show. I'm actually surprised that this is all the
- 38:26Speaker 4: Brewers got. It's a nice return, but I'm surprised that
- 38:29Speaker 4: other teams weren't in at this rate for prospects, and
- 38:33Speaker 4: maybe they just loved these guys. Billy Eppler's a special advisor.
- 38:35Speaker 4: He drafted Jet Williams and Brandon's brought. Again, this is
- 38:38Speaker 4: not a slight on them. We just talked about some
- 38:40Speaker 4: other teams and I'm wondering what their package offer was.
- 38:44Speaker 2: I don't know every every team in baseball could afford
- 38:46Speaker 2: to get Freddy pearlt it go for every team. Take
- 38:49Speaker 2: a team, your favorite team, the Tigers. You mentioned Trek Scoogle.
- 38:53Speaker 2: This is probably your last year. Trek schoogl so in
- 38:57Speaker 2: freaking I don't know. You don't don't throw in McGonagall,
- 39:01Speaker 2: don't throw in Max Skrk. But whoever under after that,
- 39:04Speaker 2: you take three of them and you can have them.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Where were the Tigers on someone like that?
- 39:08Speaker 2: I mean, they always say they need someone at Google
- 39:10Speaker 2: here he was for eight million.
- 39:12Speaker 1: On top of everything else.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Knowing Freddy pretty well used to have him on all
- 39:16Speaker 4: the time we have sometimes we see him.
- 39:18Speaker 1: He is one of the happiest humans.
- 39:20Speaker 4: It's like you can think you're having a crappy day
- 39:22Speaker 4: and then you show up and you're like, Freddy's loving life.
- 39:25Speaker 4: All right, let's have a day at the ballpark. So
- 39:26Speaker 4: he's got it all. Good job by the Mets.
- 39:30Speaker 2: And the best thing that came out of this everything
- 39:33Speaker 2: we've read is Brandon woodrif has had a healthy offseason
- 39:36Speaker 2: after what he went through coming back and being heard
- 39:38Speaker 2: at the end of the year last year. M hm,
- 39:40Speaker 2: that's good news. Hopefully it's true and he gets to
- 39:42Speaker 2: spring training he has a great full year. But it's
- 39:45Speaker 2: great to see that. Also included in all of this
- 39:47Speaker 2: that everyone's saying Matt aren't on. Everyone's saying brainon Woodri
- 39:49Speaker 2: off his back, so hopefully he is.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Now great dude. Pressure now they're gonna need.
- 39:59Speaker 2: It's really hard to find. And a Brewer guy that's
- 40:00Speaker 2: not a good guy.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I can think him one.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I can think of one day. Well, OK, that's it, Hotginger.
- 40:10Speaker 2: You guys have a higher standard than I do.
- 40:15Speaker 1: There we go.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Fresh signing alert watch out for the Minnesota Twins. They
- 40:25Speaker 4: sign up former All Star closer Taylor Rogers on a
- 40:28Speaker 4: one year contract worth two million dollars. Aaron Gleaman reporting
- 40:33Speaker 4: it along with Ken Rosenthal. Gleaman wrote logical fit for
- 40:36Speaker 4: both sides. The thirty five year old Rogers returns home
- 40:39Speaker 4: to the team that drafted him, and the Twins had
- 40:42Speaker 4: much needed bullpen help. There were jokes all over social
- 40:46Speaker 4: media over the past couple months saying that the two
- 40:49Speaker 4: best relievers for the Twins worked for the team but
- 40:52Speaker 4: weren't on the roster LaTroy Hawkins and Ryan Presley and
- 40:56Speaker 4: Glenn Perkins.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Perkin bring them all back, Hey, no offense.
- 41:00Speaker 2: This is the Twins going for Remember they said they
- 41:02Speaker 2: were going for it this year.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Taylor Rodgers and Victor Taratini.
- 41:07Speaker 2: They're going for Yeah, I don't know.
- 41:08Speaker 1: I like Taylor Rodgers.
- 41:09Speaker 2: That's nice guy. Yeah, Kerotin. He's had great success everywhere
- 41:13Speaker 2: he's been. He's been a really good dude, play as well,
- 41:16Speaker 2: switch hitter. Yep, But I don't know if this is
- 41:18Speaker 2: really going for it.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Maybe no. I mean, it's nothing against Taylor Rodgers. It's ironic.
- 41:25Speaker 3: He made his debut way before his brother, and his
- 41:29Speaker 3: brother gets the bigger free agent contract. But he'll play,
- 41:32Speaker 3: you know, he'll play his tenth season if he you know,
- 41:35Speaker 3: if he's there for a month, he'll get his ten
- 41:36Speaker 3: years of service. Taylor Rodgers is kind of to me.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Last year he kind of had a little bit of resurgence.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Before that, it wasn't quite you know, he wasn't able
- 41:46Speaker 3: to give himself that he wasn't able to regain his
- 41:51Speaker 3: form from earlier in his career. But last season kind
- 41:54Speaker 3: of had a little bounce back. So it's good he
- 41:55Speaker 3: got a big league deal.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Josh Bell and Eric Wagerman too, don't forgets.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Oh right, sorry, my bad, I don't. I don't have
- 42:05Speaker 1: the patience to go over there these years.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna go back to twins Fest.
- 42:11Speaker 3: They ask me every.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Year, they do, wait, why are you going?
- 42:14Speaker 2: I got to be in New York this weekend.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Oh, it's this weekend.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Yes, the last two years it's been this weekend. We've
- 42:19Speaker 2: been obviously the BBWAA. Okay, so I'll gladly say no
- 42:24Speaker 2: and go to that.
- 42:25Speaker 4: If you guys want me to know we Drake Baldwin
- 42:28Speaker 4: would be pissed. I'm just waiting for your speech. But
- 42:31Speaker 4: do you know how much Tyler Rogers got in free agency?
- 42:33Speaker 4: Do you remember that?
- 42:34Speaker 2: More than two million?
- 42:35Speaker 4: I know that three years thirty seven million, no deferrals
- 42:39Speaker 4: and a vesting option that can make it make it
- 42:42Speaker 4: four years forty eight million dollars, So that upshooter. One
- 42:47Speaker 4: brother is paying for the other.
- 42:49Speaker 2: But didn't Taylor make more than Tyler before that?
- 42:51Speaker 1: It wasn't there Maybe maybe? Yeah?
- 42:54Speaker 2: He was the closer lefty and a lot more right.
- 42:57Speaker 1: The Turns had sad.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Nobody like nobody liked him. You talk, you talk about
- 43:01Speaker 3: how much you know people can't get away from the
- 43:03Speaker 3: analytics and everything. I was in San Francisco, like I
- 43:06Speaker 3: got traded there two days before the season started. When
- 43:10Speaker 3: Tyler was squandering in the minor leagues. They were just
- 43:15Speaker 3: like boats was like, I love this guy out the
- 43:18Speaker 3: organization I don't know. They're just not not all about him.
- 43:22Speaker 3: All he ever does is go down to Triple A
- 43:23Speaker 3: and get tons of outs. Everybody on the team's like,
- 43:26Speaker 3: this guy should be in the big leagues. He's impossible
- 43:29Speaker 3: to hit. He comes to spring training, he's impossible hit.
- 43:32Speaker 3: You facem triple A impossible hit. All he's ever done
- 43:35Speaker 3: is put up numbers analytically. Nobody ever gave him a chance.
- 43:39Speaker 3: That season we started out slow. They ended up calling
- 43:42Speaker 3: him up because they needed somebody. Now look at him.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Three years, thirty seven, possibly forty eight million dollars.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Holy crap.
- 43:51Speaker 4: I forgot that Taylor Rogers had signed a nice, chunky deal.
- 43:56Speaker 3: He was legit.
- 43:57Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I know he was legit. I just forgot
- 43:59Speaker 4: that he got paid paid too. So the Rogers brothers
- 44:02Speaker 4: are neck and neck for career earnings. So entering, so
- 44:05Speaker 4: not including the thirty seven or the forty eight, Tyler's
- 44:09Speaker 4: career earnings are ten million dollars. So now he's going
- 44:12Speaker 4: to add third at least thirty seven. So that'll get
- 44:15Speaker 4: him to what forty seven and it could be fifty whatever,
- 44:18Speaker 4: high fifties. Taylor Rogers before this deal, career earnings do
- 44:23Speaker 4: you guys want.
- 44:23Speaker 2: To guess it's in the forty five.
- 44:26Speaker 4: Fifty three and a half million dollars and then a.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Four year deal with the Padre somewhere a long he's
- 44:33Speaker 2: signed up. Nice. I thought it was Padres.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Well, he was at the Giants the last few years.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Not Padres, but Twins and Giants. Was it the Giants
- 44:41Speaker 4: that signed him?
- 44:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so.
- 44:42Speaker 4: I think it was the Giants deal that that stirred it.
- 44:45Speaker 4: But in the last four years he's made twelve twelve
- 44:48Speaker 4: nine seven mil. So the Rogers brothers combined are a
- 44:54Speaker 4: one hundred million dollars pitching twin combination.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Good for them.
- 44:59Speaker 4: It hasn't come easy for them at all times. Those
- 45:02Speaker 4: dudes get the job done. Next up, John Mancata is
- 45:07Speaker 4: back with the Angels one year, four million dollars.
- 45:13Speaker 1: The Resurrection story team.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Is he signed for like ten or eleven last year?
- 45:18Speaker 2: I think we signed for a little higher. It was
- 45:21Speaker 2: a little.
- 45:23Speaker 3: That was like eight or nine.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Five?
- 45:28Speaker 2: Oh he signed one year?
- 45:29Speaker 3: Five?
- 45:29Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 45:29Speaker 2: Oh, okay, still getting They love him in Anaheim. They
- 45:33Speaker 2: love those fifty seven games they get from them every year.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Our buddy Jim Bowden last year, I have this written
- 45:39Speaker 4: down reported that was his only MLB offer last year.
- 45:44Speaker 1: They love him.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Hey, good for them. Yeah, he played eighty four games
- 45:51Speaker 2: last year, so he was he.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Was fine when he was on the field.
- 45:53Speaker 2: But I love that.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Here's the case. Here's the case. When we just started
- 46:02Speaker 3: talking about the Brewers and now we talk about the Angels.
- 46:06Speaker 3: If the Angels sign a Heineo Suarez to whatever, he's
- 46:09Speaker 3: gonna get two years twenty a year, so two years
- 46:12Speaker 3: forty does that put him in the playoffs?
- 46:17Speaker 2: What hope that it makes them a much better team
- 46:20Speaker 2: than what they are now or that they're going to
- 46:21Speaker 2: be now.
- 46:23Speaker 3: So to me, are you making your team better for
- 46:28Speaker 3: the future by signing Joann Mancata? Like did he do
- 46:31Speaker 3: so much? Was he a clubhouse presence? To me, don't
- 46:35Speaker 3: even waste your four million dollars. Just give the opportunity
- 46:37Speaker 3: to somebody else or good, go with somebody that's going
- 46:41Speaker 3: to be an impact. Go with somebody that's going to
- 46:43Speaker 3: impact that young roster, that's going to be that guy
- 46:46Speaker 3: that's like, yes, fit in. We may not win the
- 46:50Speaker 3: World sit, we may not make the playoffs, but everything
- 46:54Speaker 3: I've heard about a Heinio Suarez, oh and Es slug
- 46:57Speaker 3: which is what they were looking for last offseason. He
- 47:00Speaker 3: can play third base, Like I'm just confused at like
- 47:06Speaker 3: the route you're gonna go.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Here.
- 47:10Speaker 4: I'll give you an example, prime example for someone who
- 47:12Speaker 4: wanted to be in that area. Would you rather have
- 47:15Speaker 4: Yon Mancatta for one year four or Nolan Ironado to
- 47:18Speaker 4: work with the youngsters for like two years eleven or twelve,
- 47:21Speaker 4: because that would have been the top destination for him,
- 47:24Speaker 4: right he wanted to be a Dodger, that's not happening
- 47:26Speaker 4: next selection because he wants to be in that area.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Would have been the Angels. I think he would have
- 47:30Speaker 4: gone there. I mean, now he goes to Arizona's happy.
- 47:31Speaker 4: I think we're gonna get him on at some point.
- 47:33Speaker 4: I've been going back and forth with him about it.
- 47:34Speaker 4: But would you not rather have Nolan Arnado than Yon Mancatta?
- 47:42Speaker 2: Yes, I would.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I don't think it's close.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Just to show the younger kids, the Netto's Christian Moore
- 47:48Speaker 2: Shanowell how to be a big leaguer. I know they've
- 47:51Speaker 2: got some years under their belt, but every time you
- 47:53Speaker 2: look over to your right, there's Nolan Arnado doing his thing,
- 47:57Speaker 2: showing up every day, playing hard. I mean, that's just
- 48:00Speaker 2: a good teaching tool to have around to show people
- 48:03Speaker 2: how to be big leaguers.
- 48:04Speaker 4: I don't think it's close. And also, I mean Nolan
- 48:07Speaker 4: beat him in the war number this past season. I
- 48:09Speaker 4: guess he played more, but it's not like the performance
- 48:12Speaker 4: difference is there. I would rather I think performance wise,
- 48:16Speaker 4: Nolan will give you more.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think they. In twenty thirteen, we picked
- 48:23Speaker 3: up Michael Young on the Phillies and I was like, wow,
- 48:26Speaker 3: Like I get to watch Michael Young and he was
- 48:28Speaker 3: a better dude than what even people said. Everyone's like, oh,
- 48:32Speaker 3: what an amazing guy. Amazing guy. He was even better
- 48:35Speaker 3: than what people were saying. Was he this Like did
- 48:39Speaker 3: he like anchor the lineup? No? But to me, you
- 48:42Speaker 3: bring in a Nolan Aeronado over a Yon Mancata nine
- 48:47Speaker 3: times out of nine agreed.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Well said, I do have a question now that the
- 48:55Speaker 2: Mets have made their moves with Bashitt and Simeon and Polonko,
- 48:59Speaker 2: what is it for Viento's What does this do for
- 49:01Speaker 2: Brett Batty?
- 49:02Speaker 1: Oh you're going back to that?
- 49:03Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, I know, I was just down. I was
- 49:06Speaker 2: just thinking about it. I know, we have to get
- 49:07Speaker 2: the Brent Rooker. I think it was just when we
- 49:09Speaker 2: were talking about who would you rather have will, they
- 49:12Speaker 2: brought in You know, they have baby that have Vento's,
- 49:15Speaker 2: but they've have Polanco and they have al Boschett, Sime
- 49:18Speaker 2: and Lindor.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I have some ideas, but write it down.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Sorry, you're good.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Don't forget it though, because do Cat's coming on later
- 49:24Speaker 4: to talk about it and Rooker will be here in
- 49:25Speaker 4: a secon one more. Just real quick, Yachti's back. Special
- 49:29Speaker 4: Assistant to the President of Baseball opps time Bloom. I mean,
- 49:32Speaker 4: I don't have a lot to say. It's just obviously,
- 49:34Speaker 4: I think the Cardinals go, hey, Yachty, will take as
- 49:37Speaker 4: much of your time as possible to hang out.
- 49:40Speaker 2: You know who hates us more than anybody?
- 49:43Speaker 1: Who mar Why does he hate it? I disagree?
- 49:47Speaker 2: I love Ali Marmle. He only I think he has
- 49:49Speaker 2: one word or does he sign extension?
- 49:51Speaker 1: No, he's signed an extension.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I think, okay, that guy, what does he He openly
- 49:58Speaker 2: said he wants to be the manager of the Cardinals
- 50:00Speaker 2: and listen, I love obviously, I love allimrmal He's awesome dude,
- 50:05Speaker 2: one of the great dudes I've ever been around Orlando.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Guy went to the same high school, all that stuff.
- 50:11Speaker 2: But how many times have we seen Craig Stammon, special
- 50:14Speaker 2: advisor to the general manager, special advisor of the president
- 50:17Speaker 2: of baseball ops. Oh hey, man, we're really thinking about
- 50:20Speaker 2: making a change at manager and guests who And I'm
- 50:23Speaker 2: not saying a YACHTI does this at all, So don't
- 50:25Speaker 2: people out there on Twitter don't say this. But I'm
- 50:27Speaker 2: saying people that get in certain people's ear, Oh man,
- 50:32Speaker 2: well he's making this mistake. I could do that better.
- 50:34Speaker 2: I could do this better. I'm not saying this happens,
- 50:37Speaker 2: but I'm just saying this is something though. And I
- 50:39Speaker 2: know Ali Marmal is very confident and very very confident
- 50:42Speaker 2: in his job, and he deserves to be because he's
- 50:44Speaker 2: he actually was really good for the Cardinals last couple
- 50:46Speaker 2: of years of the team they've run out there. But
- 50:48Speaker 2: as you know Kratz looking down the road, this is
- 50:52Speaker 2: the stepping stone to being the next manager of the Cardinals.
- 50:55Speaker 4: I know, I truly believe that Ali has this. I'm
- 51:00Speaker 4: gonna do my all.
- 51:01Speaker 2: And no I agree, I don't want it. I'm not
- 51:03Speaker 2: saying this is happening, but a lot of times scratch,
- 51:06Speaker 2: you know, there's people in certain people's ear. And then
- 51:10Speaker 2: all of a sudden, Brad aust was didn't he do this?
- 51:12Speaker 2: He went somewhere and he got in the angel's ear
- 51:15Speaker 2: and he guess what he was then the manager of
- 51:16Speaker 2: the Angels right that go. I'm just I'm listening. I'm
- 51:19Speaker 2: not comparing Brad, but you know what I'm saying, like
- 51:22Speaker 2: this is Craig Stammon. We talked to him the other day. Yeah,
- 51:25Speaker 2: I was in there. I was in there with the
- 51:28Speaker 2: front office all the time. And then all of a sudden,
- 51:32Speaker 2: A j Preler was like, hey, maybe you should interview
- 51:35Speaker 2: for this job. You know. Again, I'm not saying it's happening,
- 51:39Speaker 2: but this is just the way.
- 51:41Speaker 4: My advice to the AUDI is, if he really wants
- 51:43Speaker 4: to manage, and I think he'd be great when he's
- 51:45Speaker 4: in this role now with the Cardinals, he should do
- 51:47Speaker 4: some media appearances and see if he likes it, because
- 51:49Speaker 4: you're gonna have to do two or three day Seriously,
- 51:51Speaker 4: just see if you like it, because if he's pissed
- 51:53Speaker 4: about it, like that is part of the job.
