- 0:00[SPEAKER_03]: Five, six, seven, eight, finale.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's the finale of Gilmore Girls.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe it.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_03]: I can't.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe it.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_03]: Original series.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, G series.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, G. To be clean over me.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, boy, yeah.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_03]: Just true.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, boy, yeah.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_03]: Here we go.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_03]: Hi, everybody.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to Gilmore to Save with Terran.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_03]: Haley, I'm Terra.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_03]: This is Haley.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: Hi, Haley.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: Hi, Terra.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's also a Gilmore revisit episode today.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of a, you know,
- 0:29[SPEAKER_03]: Two in one, a two for one.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: A two for.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, two girls upon stone.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_03]: Two girls with one's skull and his breath, Bill likes to say, because we are covering the finale of the original series of Gilmore Girls.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_03]: This of course is not the finale that Amy gives us any year in the life, but is the OG finale Bon voyage season seven episode, twenty two.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: And we wanted to share with everybody because this is monumental.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's monumental because it was April, twenty-twenty-two when we started recapping Michelle.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: After our first episode of Gilmore to say, we'd be said we would never want to recap it.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: But it really just was because we would be talking about spoilers and like cross seasons, not just sticking to the episode that we were in, which is honestly the best way to recap a show admittedly like this when you know it so well.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So true.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: But it's weird.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's weird getting to this point.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: It is weird.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: And you know, it's funny in the last episode, if you're with us on Patreon, when we were covering onto the breach, which plot twist is a terrible episode, um, we- The plot twist?
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: And now I don't know.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_03]: We've been quite enjoyed some, like, a couple of the episodes of Season Seven.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: Not that one, but not that one.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, we were talking about character really.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_03]: That's true.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_03]: That brought a glimpse of the plot twist.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's Logan.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_03]: If you guys are with us on Patreon season seven, especially I'm questioning if Haley is actually team Logan anymore.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: Haley's questioning it, too.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk more about that next week in our season.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Bill, extensively, oh, we have a lot to say.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_03]: We have a lot, yeah, a lot of things to say about it.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_03]: But you'd mention that this was going to be really, really emotional and not only because it's the series finale of Gilmore Girls and that in and of itself is emotional because we love the show so much despite the season seven of it all.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_03]: But just in general, what it means to us and what it means to our journey with Patreon,
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: And it's something that admittedly, a don't think is hit me yet because we're not going to be doing recaps in this way for our next iteration of.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: But we were still doing the revival.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing it here in life.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_03]: We're not done, but I just mean for the original series.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_03]: There is something different about that.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't
- 2:45[SPEAKER_03]: I know that's officially hit me, but I did get very emotional watching this episode.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no we actually I got a very emotional this morning because as you know when it's like Patreon watch days the first thing I do is I make my little coffee and I sit in my bed and I recap and type on my notes and when I started it I was like whoa it's like weekly for the past three years I have like woken up watching a more girls episode and like typed out on my notes
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: And this is like the last one in the true series.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, wow, wow, wow, wow, like what a journey we've been on doing this.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: It just felt so, I don't know, I felt, I felt email going into it.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I think that my recap of this and my notes were colored by my own emotions.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely cried a lot.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: I did too.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_03]: I texted Haley when I was done, like, right before we hopped on, I was like, I have to reply my makeup up there a few minutes.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_02]: I had no makeup on goodness, but I just, well, I mean, obviously you don't wake up with makeup on, maybe you do.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you do.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: Mitch Mazele.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but that's for another recap.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I remember so clearly watching this episode because as I've talked about a lot on Patreon, I read spoilers.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I knew what was going to happen.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: I knew that we weren't going to see Logan again.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: I knew kind of the gist of it, but it was like different watching it.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: I remember like the WB was really the CW at the time.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: It was really pushing that this was like the final episode ever, which was devastating.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I just, yeah, I remember sitting in a living room, crying over losing the girls, because I never knew that I would see them again.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: Of course.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I actually do not remember watching this.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: I only remember the first time I saw this at all.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, because I didn't even watch it on Netflix or ABC Family or... Correct.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: Not even box-exx.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: You hadn't even opened your season seven box-exx.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_03]: No, I did not.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I really do not remember the first time I watched this episode.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember it.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_03]: And I thought maybe in watching it, but I've seen it so many times since not as many times as I've seen like seasons one through four or five, but yeah, I thought maybe it would evoke some sort of memory for me of watching it, but it didn't because I don't remember.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I watched it alone, which was like quite rude of me, because I would sit in a living room and turn on the CW, obviously, and like make my family leave.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, very much a communal space.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like we have an open concept house.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: So like I made everyone leave the area.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, properly, I'm because I have like cable connection in my room.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_03]: yeah so no it was very it was very precious it was a very precious moment but yeah the girls were gone the girls were gone yeah this is the thing is is that I think a lot of my emotion from watching this episode
- 5:36[SPEAKER_03]: It comes from a similar place that Partings did, where I knowing the behind the scenes of it all made me so much more emotional than just watching the episode for what it was, right?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_03]: Because they didn't know, and I have thoughts on this.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_03]: But they didn't know that this was going to be the series finale for sure.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think the way it was written, it's pretty obvious.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_03]: This was the series finale.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: I remember that they weren't sure if it was going to be picked up.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: So they were prepping it to be that with the opportunity to explore new avenues in a new season, but like all of the conversations that happen.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_03]: every single piece of dialogue in this I'm like this is a series finale we're saying about there's a lot of finality in this episode so I have a difficult time believing that there would be more story to tell after this
- 6:34[SPEAKER_03]: outside of, of course, where we go in a year in the life because we have a lot of separation from this storyline.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I just I said this in the last episode that I was like the next episode is the series finale and it is for all intents and purposes.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to bury the lead a pretty solid series finale.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: They ended the show.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: I was really upset in the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year of the year.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: would have been quite interesting to cover.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: But beyond that, yeah, this just feels like it wrapped it up really well.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: It really did.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's a thought.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_03]: We have a lot of thoughts on lots of season seven as a whole and we will get into those on pod next week because we did not enjoy this season very much at all.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_03]: But all of that said, they did a very, very fine job with this finale.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I do meant I had lots of notes and comments for this episode in particular.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: I also felt
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: As we've talked about in the past that like watching it to take notes is very different than watching it and I think more so than any other episode I wanted to just sit and watch this episode and not take notes on it and there were various moments where I was like oh shit I have to rewind on right and you thought I know I tried to be very diligent about taking notes, but also wanted to absorb as well, specifically the episodes
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: with all of them, I try to do that.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: But it is hard because we're here to approach it from an analytical perspective and we will of course do that.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: But there is a lot of emotion that goes into this.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of deep feels.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_03]: So let's get into it.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_03]: This is season seven, episode twenty two, Bon Voyage, written by David S. Rosenthal, directed by Lee Shalachemel, and originally aired on May, fifteenth, two thousand seven and the box set description reads, an exciting job offer for worry and a beneficent gesture from Luke add up to a big surprise party where every star's hollow friend
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: neighbor and eccentric, exuberantly celebrates the Gilmore girls.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's true.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: It is true.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's a good one.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_03]: That is part, that is what happens.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_03]: That is, that is what happens.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_03]: The Netflix description reads, in this series finale, Marie makes a sudden change in her summer plans and Luke enlists everyone in stars hollow to throw her a farewell party.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, I like them both, which is shocking because we usually have a very strong opinion about one of the other here on this podcast.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have the Hulu one?
- 9:04[SPEAKER_03]: I do not have the Hulu one.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: I for some reason, I don't remember my Hulu login.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_03]: I automatically logged in on my TV, but not here on my computer.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think I cleared my cookies and when that happens, like you learn a cache or something and everything goes away and you're like,
- 9:18[SPEAKER_03]: No more cookies.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_03]: No more cookies.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_03]: And then you don't know how to get into Hulu.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's yeah, bad.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't have the Hulu description.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure it is some offshoot of the Netflix description as we found out.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_03]: But the chapter titles from the box at R. One, Cristiano M. Poor credits.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_03]: Two, just friends.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_03]: Three, no worry, no party.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_03]: Four, time with lane.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_03]: Five, big tent.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_03]: Six, bust wisdom, semicolon, atlux, seven and credits.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: bus wisdom is weird, but the bus system is weird.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: Big ten surprised me.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: Typhlean is a little lame.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: I really like the first one.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the first one was nice.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: I like the original party.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's cute.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll give it like, fifty, fifty.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, thirty, fifty.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: So we start with a previously on in this episode and what we also learned in the last episode on to the breach is that they're really doing previously ons in a way that is like genuinely we're gonna show you what was on the last episode.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, rather than.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I feel like Gilmore Girls previously ons usually include some sort of foundation from the like episodes from the past even in past seasons and I really really wish that
- 10:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, we had gotten like, maybe because they didn't know that this was the series finale for sure.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_03]: I really wish that we had maybe gotten something a little more sentimental than just showing us what was in the last episode.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think that from the jump would have made me immediately sentimental.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think that will like,
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: Previously on like, server purpose, like, you know, because like, we watched this last week.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_02]: Let's have a refresh.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: But given the content of this episode, I feel like it was deserving of some flashbacks, especially given where we go in the cold open.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: I was about to say it would have been great to have the Lorelites for state.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, when she's talking to Headmaster Charleston, she'll tell what she wants to do.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_03]: And she said, what?
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: Chilton.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: You said the lower-rise per state.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you meant the lower-rise.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Chilton.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_03]: One of my percent.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I was like, no, he's seen Ms.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_02]: Charleston.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Headmaster Chilton.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: Headmaster Chilton.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: When she tells him about what she wants to do with her career, that that would have been a good little call back.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_03]: I completely agree.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_03]: And I wish we had gotten something like that.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_03]: And that's kind of how we felt about unto the breach.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_03]: And we talked about that.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_03]: And that episode that we wish that we had maybe gotten some shots from the Lorelaise first day at Yale in the previously on, because it is really monumental.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: Like these last few episodes are so monumental in a real callback or a full circle moment to some of those really foundational episodes of going from the past that put us in those warm
- 12:01[SPEAKER_03]: cozy vibe.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: So we wish we had gotten a little bit of that, but they're setting up the foundation for this last episode, and what just immediately happened, which of course ends with Logan Hudson's burger going vibory.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_03]: Grabbing us for a box and walking away.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: I would just love her.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: We shout a lot about that in last episode if you want to.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely on the pitch.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're more about that disappointment.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but not disappointing.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: No, this cold open.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_03]: It was very cute.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: There are some lollas that are leading us into this cold open.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: We're at the Dragonfly and the exterior and Lorelei pulls up in her Jeep with worry.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: She's just pulled her out of bed because she's telling her that Cristiano Mubor is at the Dragonfly and worry does not believe her.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, remember that time you thought you saw Sandra Day O'Connor and she was like, okay, but this is different.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I know this is her.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: And Rory is like, there's no way it's her and turns and sees that it is her.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, I'm in my pajamas and Lorela is like, yeah, I really tried to avoid that for you.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: She tried to tell you Rory.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on both sides here.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, sure.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: But I would have at least maybe put on, I don't know.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: She really didn't look that bad.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's not like she was in her cage pajamas.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: No, the pajamas were the cakes on them.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_03]: She was in like a t-shirt and like
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: Like, stretchy pants.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like some pants.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's not about.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but she staying at the dragonfly.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_03]: Michelle didn't tell Laura live because she notoriously embarrasses herself and them in front of celebrities, which is namely Marisa Tomé.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: Marisa Tomé.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a trivia with Marisa Tomé once.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_03]: Did you?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because she was doing a show with my friend Ellen, who was running trivia at the time.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_03]: and um... they were in the roast tattoo on Broadway in twenty nineteen and so she convinced Merisa Tomei to come to trivia yeah we play trivia with her she was in my group was very good and I remember oh yeah all right oh she's allowed up Marisa sitting here with Merisa Tomei anyway um... yeah so that is kind of me shelves only cameo in this episode which bummer you know she's not the party but I just was kind of buzz yeah
- 14:14[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember him.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they do when they're doing like the pan of the animal.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, okay.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: He's there but like not the good thing happens.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I need more Michelle.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: But attention for more Michelle.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: Potition for more Michelle.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we get more of him in the revival.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think it is actually like where he goes in the revival admittedly.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, we'll save that for that.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: Um, worried decides that Laura Lai is going to go talk to her.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: She needs to send her mommy over first.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: So let her talk to her.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Totally get a and decides to hide behind a column.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, she does.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's very, very funny.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like, yeah, you go hide behind that wall.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: But I have to tell you, from just an audience perspective, Christian Omunpoor is a really great actor.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_03]: She took great job.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_03]: I was so proud of her.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_03]: It felt very natural.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes when you have non-actors who are well known, notable people come on.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_03]: It can go one way or the next.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: And she did a fantastic job.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_03]: She played herself very well.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: She did.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's hard to do.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_03]: It can be hard to do sometimes.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_03]: But she did a really, really fine job.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_03]: And what I will say is for all the flat we've given season seven about like, did you watch the show before you wrote this season?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_03]: This is an episode where I do feel like they really try to add those Gilmore girls elements in the history of the show into it.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: And this is one of those moments.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's like yeah, she hasn't really talked about her too too much in like recent Episode but we know that this is a person who means a lot to Rory and she's so cute when she comes out like sheepishly and like she's talking about like how much she admires her and She's so kind to her but check, of course, that's what she's supposed to do.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: So she was scripted to you.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so much to do
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: that she even gives her her car.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_02]: I stay in touch.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: Very suddenly what she does, which I was like, this is fantastic.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is like the fact that she'll got her for this and like she agreed to do it was so cool.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: So my only quam with this moment tell me was when we hear beep beep and she goes, that's my cab.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: We just rewatched Rory's dance and Dean was like Hong Kong and Emily was like, absolutely not.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're not summoned by a Hong.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_03]: And do you remember Aaron's party by Aaron Carter when his parents go.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_03]: We're a beep beep and he goes, have a good time.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to remind me of the beep beep.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_03]: That's my cab.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_03]: The door bell rings because the park is here.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: This episode could not be more like that.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_03]: This could not be more similar to Aaron's party than anything else in this world.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: Rest in peace, Aaron Carter.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, gosh.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man, I forgot.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_03]: Sad, very sad.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: But boy was that a lot.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's my cab.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: it actually um the way that I said that this is like so random and I don't know if any of you had this toy but it was from a Barbie like medical kid it's like you can play Barbie doctor and like I don't remember if it was a thermometer or like an ear
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: whatever.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, regardless of whether you hit it and it goes beep beep, you're very healthy.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: All of that.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and so that reminded like, beep, beep, that's my cat.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, really?
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's yeah.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I, why would have made sense if she was like, okay, I actually have to go my, um, waiting for my cap to get here.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was cute.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_03]: It was very sweet.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_03]: It did feel very natural, like maybe other than that.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was really, really well done and she did a fantastic job and a really nice, uh, little.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, really great cameo.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: I really liked that.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_03]: But again, this to me is giving this is the series finale.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_03]: And we started out strong with an appearance match on on the poor leg.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: Great job.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: So then we get the opening credits we go to the lower lies house and lower lies sitting on worries bed as she has all these boxes she's unpacking and they are planning for this trip that they're taking where they're kind of doing.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_03]: It sounds like a tour of roller coasters and lower lie mentions late compounds home of the boulder dash which is I believe one of the largest if not the largest wooden roller coaster in the country.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_03]: And I have spent many a summer at Lake Compounds.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_03]: It is really.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my gosh.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_03]: I have never ever been on Boulder Dash.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's always very geared me.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: And if you see it, you might feel scared too.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think that would be fine.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_03]: But I just, why now?
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: Is an adult?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think when I was younger.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was younger.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: I was younger.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_03]: I was younger.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, I might be scarier as an adult.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_03]: You're so right, because you have seen final destination three and you're scared.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Just like you have this like blind trust when you're younger that you just don't have now.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of like true.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: You're like that sounds kind of rickety.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what I was like.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_03]: I, you know, when I was younger, I loved roller coasters.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_03]: And then I started to get spooked when I was like in late middle school, early high school, like early teenage years.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_03]: And now I kind of and hit her mess on a roller coaster.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe I spoke too soon.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_03]: Who's that?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_03]: Boulder Dash is a big deal.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: I love Lake Compounds.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_03]: It is one of my favorite places that I went to growing up and when Laura like mentioned it I was like Lake Compounds.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_03]: I love you.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: They're Halloween.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_03]: They set up for Halloween as well and in college we used to go and they'd have like a haunted house and that was a lot of fun.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_03]: I had a lot of good times there but anyway scary.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: A little spooky scary but a lot a lot of fun.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_03]: So they're doing some sort of roller coaster tour.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_03]: She's talking about all the different places they could go the cyclone at Coney Island and then heading out west.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_03]: And so they're doing a little tour and I kind of love this.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_03]: This is giving our backpacking trip through Europe, but we're staying in the country.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: You know post graduation.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I love that Lorela is taking it upon herself to give Lorela something to look forward to because she kind of doesn't really know what's next.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_03]: But she does have seventy four resumes addressed and sealed ready to go.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_03]: And I want to believe that she would have done that on her own, but that Cristiano and Paul also gave her the confidence and the hoods for it to be like, you know, I'm doing this.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because that was like what she talked about with her, where she said, like, you just get in there and you do the work.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I wish she would have heard from her before she turned on the pro Joe, but my degrees.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, this is the where I love.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: I love seeing her put all these stamps on there.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: I would have loved to see her go to the post office, but we have enough in this episode going on.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: But after that, she starts helping Laura lay on pack.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: Or it seems like Laura is not doing much unpacking.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: She's doing the chatting and Laura is doing the unpacking.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: And what does she unpack the rocket?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: The love rocket from Logan.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it's going to be like, ah, the rocket.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, the chicken, you know, like it's like this is her Logan box almost.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_03]: She asks if she's talked to him.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_03]: She says no.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_03]: Um, which I can't, I can't decide if I'm surprised by
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: I can't decide if I wish he had been like, yeah, I tried to call him, but he won't talk to me something.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I just don't feel like we've gotten closure on these people at this point.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_03]: Did you, I mean, I know that you were much younger, but did you feel like you had gotten closure on the two of them?
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely not.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: I really, I, there was it, I cannot express to you the desperate feeling that I had that this man was gonna show up at the party later.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm sure.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't spoil her.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Spoiler alert.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: I, I almost didn't believe this, uh, interaction happened here because it's so side swept that like she says.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, I am so sad.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like the sadness comes in waves like very close together and I'm like, where?
- 22:39[SPEAKER_03]: I thought the way in the last episode.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: Where are you sad?
- 22:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like when she when devastated, if I saw that rocket and I had the kind of relationship that she and Logan had, I would burst into tears because she didn't want it to end.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_03]: There's just so much non-emotion.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I know that that's kind of where he's M.O.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_03]: We kind of never really know what she's thinking, but she's describing it and it's not aligning with her energy, you know?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's not, but yeah, and Laura likes saying, you know we'll get better.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: Should I go, did you just dig it better with you and Luke?
- 23:16[SPEAKER_03]: It felt like a mechanism to get us from just to get us to Laura like talking about Luke, because we know we're just going by the end of the episode.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_03]: And she goes, I think,
- 23:25[SPEAKER_03]: done.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, all right, yeah, I've been there before.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: I just talked about he didn't respond to the song.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, well, now you make it seem like it was purposeful.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: That was a drunken incident.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_03]: That was an incident.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_03]: I wish that she, well, they already had this conversation.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: I guess where she kind of says, like, I feel like I embarrassed him.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, I don't know.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: But she says she needs someone to show her how he really feels.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: And Luke doesn't his own way.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Luke does.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_03]: He's in six, not so great at it.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_03]: But the first half, and in season five, I think he did a really good job.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_03]: But we did feel like it was out of character for him to step into that version of himself at the end of season four.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_03]: be bold enough to ask her to go to Liz's wedding.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_03]: You know, there are so many different things that he did that we were like, oh, Luke and all.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, it's not his first instinct.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's not his default setting.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_03]: And so when he does do things like that, when he does talk about how he feels, it is a little surprising because that's not his ML.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_03]: And so she does say, I need someone who shows me how he feels and Luke cannot do that.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like,
- 24:36[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, it's pretty true.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's pretty true because like it takes like a big gesture from him like a big act of service to kind of really feel that from him.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can't do that every day.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: It turns out.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you don't fall away.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_03]: She shows up and we give people space in room to grow.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: But he just, I think that
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think we're lower lies coming from, and she's not looking at the relationship as a whole.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_03]: She's looking at how the relationship ended, and the second half of season six, which is what she was left with, was this idea of like this man is telling me how he feels, but pushing me out, and also like I couldn't get a gauge on him, and I don't want to have to pull things out of him like Link's sausages, you know?
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: Which famously he did agree to.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_03]: He did agree to, but I didn't agree to pull your feelings out of you.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_03]: But she says we're better as friends.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, Luke, can I have some coffee?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, Luke, can I burgers for worries reenactment?
- 25:35[SPEAKER_03]: Her graduation reenactment.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_03]: My what?
- 25:37[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, you didn't tell me.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you didn't graduate.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't tell the guest of honor.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she was like, oh, it's just this little thing.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to re-enact your graduation and uh, the star's whole band is going to be there and everyone you know.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, everyone you know, you're going to have to re-wear your cap and gown.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's in the town square and she's like, Mom, what the fuck?
- 25:58[SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: She owes her, though.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: So, it's true to she ever.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_03]: Boy, does she ever?
- 26:04[SPEAKER_03]: So we go to Luke's and Luke is ordering dogs and burgers for the party.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_03]: This guy Charlie aka Chuck as Liz likes to call him.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: I love that he's pushing the brats.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_03]: He calls the brat worst.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_03]: The brats.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: And he's like Charlie who who canceled the brat worst order.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I don't know.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_03]: It's very, very funny.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: You know what's funny about Charlie though?
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's like never met Charlie before.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: Never met.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: But here in this very last episode of this series, they're trying to convince us that Charlie's someone that they should all know.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: When this comes in, it's like, hey, Chuck, I'm like, Charlie's last Chuck.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: Who was this?
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: This is this.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: But it's so small that it really doesn't matter.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_02]: I was just like, what are you doing here?
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_02]: Bring in the, the, he, oh, man.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, where's the he-ha-man?
- 26:54[SPEAKER_03]: Or like, I don't know, somebody we recognize, Pete from the pizza place, even.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I don't know.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_03]: Bring in Tom the contractor.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_03]: But...
- 27:05[SPEAKER_03]: Something we recognize.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: I do care.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: I care.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: You don't care that Tom just went.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: Now working in food industry.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: The question to.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: The contractor.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: Tom.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_03]: The butcher.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_03]: Tom.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_03]: He could do whatever he wants.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_03]: He's a multi-passive man.
- 27:19[UNKNOWN]: He's a multi-pastive.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_03]: He's a multi-pastive.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_03]: He's a multi-pastive man.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_03]: He's a multi-pastive.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's expanded the expansion, sukey, the expansion.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_03]: Tom.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: But I have to say outside of that, this scene with Liz.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: bothered me.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_03]: It just felt like filler filler.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_03]: And yes, a plot device.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: But what I really, really wish, because of course Liz comes in and says hi to Chuck.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_03]: She brings in Dula.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, do the ones to say hi to her uncle, location Mrs. I'm so, so much.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like, yeah, of course you want him to babysit.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, I want to get some nice for the party on Saturday.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_03]: Where is TJ?
- 27:50[SPEAKER_03]: Where the hell is TJ?
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: I miss him so much.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_03]: I miss him so much.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_03]: I digress.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_03]: See at the party?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_03]: He's not at the party.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but she brings up the necklace.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_03]: Did you give it to her?
- 28:03[SPEAKER_03]: What about the song?
- 28:05[SPEAKER_03]: You know, all this stuff.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I just like, it just feels so forced.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_03]: And I didn't like this scene.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_03]: But here's what I wish had happened.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe I would have cared for this scene a little bit more.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_03]: the shift within Liz between being an advocate for Luke and Laura Line in season six season four five and six and then all of a sudden at the beginning of season seven, she's like, yeah, it was never gonna work out between the two of you.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: To now all of a sudden, being so like, I did have that switcheru though.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: She did in Bobby B. No, but they addressed it.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_03]: He did address that with her.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there was like, you're the one who said that like, they weren't right for each other.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, well, you know, I like,
- 28:43[SPEAKER_03]: I could be wrong and it's like, yeah.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_03]: But why did we even have to go there to begin with?
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: I wish that Liz had been the voice of reason with Luke being like, kind of how he is being here.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: Like, no.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't work.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: We don't work.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: Instead of her being the one to say, yeah, you guys, I knew it was never going to work out.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, okay, now I just like don't nothing about this feels not that dick to me now because you're literally just using Liz as a plot device for whatever the plot calls for as far as Luke storyline.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: want the audience.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't want to say we didn't want the audience rooting for Luke and Laura lie as I'm putting myself in the shoes of the writers.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't there.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't think that they wanted us to really be like, oh, we're pining for Laura lie here in the first half of the season.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: Laura Lie was off to figure things out with Christopher.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_03]: He was being mean the whole bit and it's like Liz was then just kind of mirroring that energy until it called for us to start hoping for Luke and Laura Lie again and then she was mirroring that energy and I'm like, I like it.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_02]: It just felt like a
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously the scene was to push Laura lie, like the Luke and Laura lie agenda for.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_02]: And to remind us about the necklace.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think you would have been more interesting though, for Liz to see Rory in some way.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: Worries bring her earrings.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: And like maybe it come up.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: in that way that's like oh what and the necklace something something like maybe maybe worries going to the post office take her stuff yeah is in loop are in there and she leaves and finds out that she didn't give give her the necklace yeah like that
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, something.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_03]: I just didn't love this scene.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_03]: I thought it was a little pointless, but it not him ordering the food.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: That comes back and that comes back later.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I heard in the, yeah, I don't know.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: It was slow and I think that's the thing.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: I will allow it this slow scene.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: Totally.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: So we leave them there.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_03]: We go to Friday night dinner.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_03]: The last Friday night dinner.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_03]: The last Friday night dinner.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: This is when I started getting emotional.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_03]: This is where I started to go.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_03]: I wrote my first note was the last Friday night dinner question mark question mark question mark.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_03]: Because I didn't remember every nook and cranny of this episode.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: I knew the general trajectory of where we were headed.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: I knew we would see them again at the party.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but there is something different because when I think about, especially with you and I doing a rewatch and preparation for this false new version of Patreon, we've seen like the beginning stages of Friday and age dinner and what that looks like.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: You see how much it's shifted is really, really cool.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, by the lighting is changing.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: The lighting has just just keeps
- 31:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like, the dimmer just keeps going up and up and up and up.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, I, Friday night dinners are sacred.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_03]: This is a big deal.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_03]: This is a big deal.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: And they acknowledge it.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: And again, this was also when I was like, oh, this really this is the finale.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, there's a finality here.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: The front end of this.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like the end of the scene really gives that feeling.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: But Roy's not there yet because she had a, she had drinks, quote unquote.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: And Emily is not okay with this because she'd be okay for it.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Roy to miss Friday night dinner for an interview, but not for drinks.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: Roy lies defending her because she's trying to make this connection, get a job, et cetera.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: while also telling her about the roller coaster tour.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like they're going on.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm telling it.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, you're going to ride roller coaster for a month.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_03]: But Laura lives justification for it is great.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, bring needs a break.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_03]: This might be my last shot at a summer with her.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: You know, spending time with her like this because what if she
- 32:32[SPEAKER_03]: goes off and finds a job and we never have this opportunity again.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see the moment.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's interesting.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's interesting that Emily responds to that as like stopping so modeling that like she sees this as like we're having to say our final goodbye story and we'll never see her again, but like it's it's a good
- 32:50[SPEAKER_02]: comment from Emily because it recognizes that she still doesn't grasp their relationship like she will still see her she will still visit with her but like it'll never be like it has been for the last twenty two years she's gonna move on supposedly wait
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're disregarding the revival.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: But I do like that, that she really wants to have that.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I like that we're building it here before Rory comes in, or not before Rory comes in.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_02]: I'd want to mention that Emily is pushing for a spa, not to bring the revival up.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_03]: But she was pushing for a spa.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_03]: I want to know if that was something that Amy knew about.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of those things that if you don't know the lore of the show and you're just like binge watching it and you're like, oh, cool.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: I finished the original series kind of pop right over to the revival now and you're like, wait, they want to open a spot.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm only wanted to pay for the spa.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of confusing as a viewer and I understand the principle that Amy had that she wanted to do things her own way.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_02]: Totally.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think there's an element as a viewer as the
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: as someone who's watching this for the first time that you're like, wait, it doesn't make any sense.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I have to watch the revival to see how it's to remind myself how it's implemented, because...
- 34:20[SPEAKER_03]: Interesting.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_03]: Fascinating.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_03]: That's what I wrote here.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_03]: Emily thinks Laura should out of spot to the end.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_03]: Fascinating.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which is like how the series really comes full circle in the revival, but like that's how they're trying to make this come full circle here.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think that their attempt is a little weak here.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I do think it's interesting that Emily is the one is seeking out trying to give Laura live money.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_03]: because we know the purpose behind it and I love what it gets where it gets us when we get there.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: But I that was one of the questions I wanted to ask you is like if you remembered whether or not this was something Amy knew about because I know she had
- 35:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'll have to ask people who are super fans of the show in the writers room to remind them of things that maybe they forgot or things that happen in season seven that, you know, maybe need to consider in writing a year in the life interesting.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder how much fit she just said fuck it.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be surprised, but Ding Dong, worry is here.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: And she has gotten a job.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_03]: Ding-dong.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_03]: Ding-dong.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_03]: Ding-dong.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_03]: Where he's got a job.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_03]: If you're not looking at some Patreon, that's on it crazy.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_03]: And she leaves in three days.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_03]: So the drinks that she was getting, yes, were with Hugo Gray, who we've met.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_03]: And he has an online magazine and online magazine as they haven't really expanded upon.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_03]: Just something that's not like a official newspaper.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't really go right aspect.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_03]: It's a digital magazine and the person that he had
- 36:01[SPEAKER_03]: to cover Barack Obama's parade tourist, Haley loves to call it.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: I don't love to call it.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't remember this call.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait,
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: I would love to call it the campaign trail.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, uh, his presidential campaign trail.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: I love to call that.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: By it's given name, but it's government name, government name, government name.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, my, my brain can't do that.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: So, but that's what Hugo wants.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_03]: He wants some of reporters overported because the person who was supposed to cover it is moving to
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: Do I do buy it?
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it hilarious?
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: Why, though?
- 36:50[SPEAKER_02]: They're leaving because their fiance is moving to Dubai and the reporter is moving with them.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: So Hugo is losing that person and Roy is filling that spot.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even catch that.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: I caught it, but I didn't even think of that.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, Roy, how do you feel about that?
- 37:08[SPEAKER_02]: You could have been that girl.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: You could have been the one leaving.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: interest.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't taking her to Dubai.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: He was taking her to our avocado for in Palo Alto.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, I thought that was very fascinating.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_02]: Very fascinating.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: She has to leave in three days.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: She has to be in Iowa on Monday.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: And so, you know, Richard is excited.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_03]: As is Lorely, she's excited too.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_03]: Emily skeptical.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_03]: But Roy said yes.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_03]: She said yes.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like, she accepted the job on the spot.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: She came in.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: Why wouldn't she?
- 37:39[SPEAKER_02]: I got a job.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: crazy.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_03]: And so Rory is starting to spiral a little bit.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, am I ready for this?
- 37:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even get a breath.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even get a break.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_03]: What about the roller coasters?
- 37:49[SPEAKER_03]: And Rory lays like, well, do the roller coasters another time?
- 37:51[SPEAKER_02]: The roller coasters will be there.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_02]: After she just admitted that there's not going to be another time.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: So you're like, kind of, this is where your heart starts truly breaking in half because you're like, oh, the girls, the girls are partying.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_03]: Partying for real.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_03]: And Emily says, so this is it.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_03]: And that's when I started crying.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she says who knows how long we'll see you.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: Don't see you.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: And then lots of more like says definitely after dinner drinks.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because after dinner drinks, I come up because Roy wasn't there for drinks because she was getting drinks with Hugo Gray.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_03]: For me, when I really, really lost it, was when the camera goes to Ed and he has tears in his eyes.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_02]: No, oh my gosh, that
- 38:35[SPEAKER_03]: that was like yeah because it's like who knows the next time we'll see you and it's clear that they filmed this knowing it was going to be the last Friday night dinner on the inside they knew they had to have even though they didn't know
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know because like, I know that the story goes, well, I say the story goes, but like, factually what I know is that Ed Herman found out from the video, the guy at the video store.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: In his town, the Gilmargo's was canceled.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't even know.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Lauren was the only one.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think Lauren and Alexis were the only people that they told.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: But they called.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: And they were formally told by agent, studio, etc.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_02]: etc.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: And they didn't know that.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_02]: And they would have like to have disseminated the information, like from them rather than people hearing just in the news.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: And so I wonder how much they actually knew that that was the last one.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: I just feel like given all of the dialogue in this episode.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: It feels so final.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: It feels like the writers knew and it felt like the like the people making it probably know I don't know how much the actors really accept.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's hard.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's hard.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: You don't want to grieve something.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_03]: to prematurely.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_03]: But at the same time, you want to give it its do.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_03]: That's sad.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_03]: And I know that's what makes the revival so special.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, that's the nature of television, though, too, is like a lot of shows never get closure.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of actors have no idea that their last day on set is their last day on set.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like so many shows and did before they should have.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like the babysitter's club.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: What did you show?
- 40:15[SPEAKER_02]: Can't hold that.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: What was that about?
- 40:17[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: But there's just like that element of it.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's like how much did.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: How much do they know?
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: Um, would love to talk to Miss Kelly Bishop about that.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_03]: I would as well.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for coming.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_03]: The rumors are true.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_03]: The rumors are true.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_03]: So it's the next day.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_03]: It's Saturday.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_03]: Um,
- 40:37[SPEAKER_03]: They go to Luke's where he has a list.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_03]: They're on a mission.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_03]: They have a lot to do.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_03]: This is giving a season five.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_03]: No, season four.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_03]: I'm so excited.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_03]: One Barbara Scotty where it's like, oh my god, we only have a couple days to do this.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_03]: And so they go in.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_03]: They immediately get two cups of coffee from Caesar who is very general.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: They don't get two cups of coffee.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: They get Java one and Java two.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_03]: Java too, and Caesar is being very like very excited, very overzealous, and he is genuinely like taking the plates out of Luke's hands because he wants to show him and prove to him that he can handle things if Luke leaves if, yes, because the boat trip was canceled.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_02]: But he also can, because like season five.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: Hello.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: Because of the Renaissance Fair Festival.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_03]: For the whole summer.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_03]: So I don't know why this is up for debate.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_03]: But he, he all man.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_03]: You.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_03]: So Laura, I breaks the news to him like, hey, I have to cancel all of those, you know, burgers and dogs that you ordered and
- 41:38[SPEAKER_03]: It's because there's not going to be a party.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_03]: And Kirk over here says, and he's like, wait, there's no party.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_03]: And of course, Patty, but that and Lulu.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I hear that because Lulu goes, what job?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_03]: That's my favorite line delivery.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, Lulu.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Lulu goes, what job?
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: She was so in the sense that she's employed.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_03]: killed me.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_03]: I will say that I wrote down here Lucas Thrill, the townies are not.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_03]: And I love the townies.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_03]: You know, there's some of my favorites.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_03]: But them in this scene was so
- 42:21[SPEAKER_03]: Broadway play.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_03]: It was vivid.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: They were the answer.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: But what do you mean, Roy's not going to be here?
- 42:28[SPEAKER_03]: It's not the same.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_03]: Like, wind pass.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh, I was like, OK.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, when Kirk proposes once again.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, my power.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: What's for Lulu to play Roy this whole time?
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: But it really was going to be going, what job?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm like, shit, a knife under the table.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: killed me, but then they go, oh, we'll give you a reenactment right now.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so many you, like, does the whole, um, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom,
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have I noticed that before I have to have but it was like absolutely my favorite That was the best line in this whole episode.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: I did say no job was what job was also great but Maybe we never forget we'll talk about it in the next episode, but we never forget the line that Laura likes it to Suki after she found out that Jackson hadn't gotten the satisfactory
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay, that's really high up there.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, okay.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: Those are like tied.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: Sumikum Luke is much more wholesome and of the moment.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_02]: The other one, okay, well, we'll talk about favorite lines.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: There's not been a time.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_03]: No, but that one really got so notable.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: What job?
- 43:51[SPEAKER_02]: Sumikum Luke?
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about it.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait till next week.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: The season seven rehab is going to go.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_03]: be on him.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be truly on his.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, we're leaving in two days because now what he's Saturday, she is leaving on Monday and they have a lot to do.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_03]: So there is no way they're going to be able to do this party.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_03]: And but that says so this is goodbye and she's like, no, it's just see you later.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_03]: I want to come by tomorrow and like say goodbye to everybody and that is her plan is that she's going to spend Sunday kind of making her round.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why they want everything done today.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_03]: And I love that when they do leave the beckos by doll faces.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, by doll faces.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_03]: So plural.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but they are really just they're all very sad and I wrote for yeah and Luke sees it and I wrote poor sad everybody.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Poor said everybody, because we always say poor sad Luke.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I forgot.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't until he said that in the last episode that like we hadn't said poor sad Luke in a second.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: We had it.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: Luke whatsoever.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it didn't quite a while since we had poor sad Luke.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: But poor sad everyone and Luke should have rescued.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_03]: So the next scene is at the Dragonfly Suki's cooking and Luke comes in because he knew that Laura lives in town.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_03]: He knew that Suki would be there alone and he comes in to see her.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_03]: and says, like, you know, she had to cancel.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_03]: Laura, I had to cancel.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: Where is party?
- 45:11[SPEAKER_03]: I want to throw the party anyway and have it be a surprise party.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_03]: And Suki is elated, not just because of the party, but she's elated because she can see that Luke is not only showing up for worry,
- 45:22[SPEAKER_03]: but she points out, and Laura Lye would love it.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, yeah, very, very, and Laura Lye.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: And she says, yeah, Laura and Laura Lye.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_02]: That's like my, that's the other favorite like delivery.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's because she's, Laura Lye would really love it.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: Laura and Laura Lye, Laura and Laura Lye.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's so good.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_03]: And she's really, really excited.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_03]: And she says, what do you need for me?
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: He says to sorts, because he says he already has the burgers and the dogs, buns, everything.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: It's coming.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be eating dogs.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: Dogs.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, they are.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: I just like the imagine, imagine like burgers and golden retriever puppies.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the burgers and the dogs.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_02]: The dogs are not going on the grill.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: They're just going around.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_02]: The golden retriever puppies are going to be played with.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_02]: and they get to eat the burgers.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, good day for that.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think exactly.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, she's a very cute, it's really, really cute.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_03]: And she's scheming.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_03]: She is, and she tells him to call Jackson because he can help with anything else he may need, which is true.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_03]: That happens later.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: That's so wife-affirred to volunteer her husband.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that'd be me.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like I call Brett.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_03]: So, the girlies are still wandering through stars hollow, they're shopping, and as they're kind of going through things, you can tell Laura lie as very much on a mission.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_03]: She is keeping herself very focused on the list.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_03]: She doesn't want to reminisce, she doesn't want to get sentimental, she wants to be focused on that.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: She's focused, but we can find out what we're giving season four episode one.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_02]: Totally, like this is totally them realizing that she got the Yale orientation date wrong, and they're gonna not gonna have the whole week that they had planned.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, one percent.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: I like this pair a lot.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_03]: Me too.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_03]: I do too.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_03]: So there are certain things they want to borrow from certain people so they don't spend money and they can get them right away.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_03]: And so she wants to borrow one of those back support things for a chair for worry from Miss Patty and so she goes to Patty's knocks on the door and the door is locked, which is very odd.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: And Patty opens the door very like
- 47:17[SPEAKER_03]: You know.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, what does that from?
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: Were they like open the door just slightly?
- 47:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: Is that the Wizard of Oz?
- 47:23[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_03]: Just slightly.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: They pull the open.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: That little.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_03]: It's true.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_03]: How did you feel about us getting?
- 47:32[SPEAKER_03]: I was torn between wishing that we hadn't seen the towns people against the ball in the dark until after they left.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I, yeah, I agreed.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that it should have been then and she's like, okay, bye.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with everybody.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because we do get that, but at first when she opens the door and they're like, hi, Patty, she's like, hi, I'm consulting with my muse.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_03]: and like then we get a flash to everybody inside and it's it's cute but I kind of wish that maybe we'd been like what is she up to and yeah we see the other side of it when the girl is do walk away and I still like the reveal me too the reveal is great they're having a little town meeting it's not an official town meeting as Taylor quite some multiple times nothing about this is official but this is something that we talked about in our town meetings episode back in the fall of last year yeah
- 48:20[SPEAKER_03]: because I just find this to be a little caricature.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_03]: In the same way that I found the townies to be a little caricature in Luke's diner when it's like, yeah, no party.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: But what about Rory?
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: What about the ensemble?
- 48:34[SPEAKER_02]: They're all about start singing.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: And that's kind of how it's out here.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh, between like, and you all know that I already said this on Pod that I didn't love that Lane was like, come on, Taylor, it is Rory for God's sake.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, okay,
- 48:48[SPEAKER_02]: We could have given them a secret dialogue.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, you're the one who's a regular.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it feels like it's gonna go Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump, Bump,
- 49:17[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't Taylor in a wheelchair?
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: Guess he broke his leg in the last episode, and he's just standing everything's fine.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_02]: It makes me wonder if Michael Winter actually had an issue, like that he needed to be seated, like maybe he had some sort of something.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and they wrote it in, but I don't know.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe, but he's up in a bow now.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, wasn't this like,
- 49:37[SPEAKER_02]: a couple days ago, yes.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just remembered that.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm surprised that they're all, or that not they're all, that Taylor is mad at all of them.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, you don't have the proper permits and licenses.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_02]: And this is unofficial.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_02]: We can't do this.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think that the intention behind it was that Taylor is always the one to approve, disapprove whatever.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_03]: He's always spearheading these things that the town is finally standing up to Taylor and being like,
- 50:07[SPEAKER_03]: Either you're in or you're out.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_03]: We're doing it.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's why they're gonna start singing and that is when they start singing, which I thought was just a little campy.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_03]: Not that I don't like camp, but I just thought was a little cheesy.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, that's right.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of wish you would have been like, you don't have that.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you have to do this, this and this.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_02]: Do you want to do this party?
- 50:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like that feels like more of the relationship.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like he would have shut it down.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_02]: He would have wanted to have it.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_02]: He would have been like, oh, well, okay.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like when it's like, this is an unofficial town meeting, so this is unofficial, like whatever, I forget exactly what the wording was.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_02]: But it just feels like he would have like stood his ground.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I want to have this party as much as the next person.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like, my hands are tied.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_02]: You have to have a permit.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to give me the permit, of course.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: But you have to go through the hoops.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like that would have been more, that would be more sense.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_03]: Other than being like, all right, Taylor, put up your dukes.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like whoa, okay, do you know if you're party like I just wanted something a little bit a little bit more, but I am surprised also that Kirk is doing music a little bit more love that Marie has a sound system and love that Kirk's name was Captain Kay when he was a DJ.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_03]: Why not lane?
- 51:17[SPEAKER_03]: Why not lane?
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: Why not lane?
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: Why not?
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: Why not?
- 51:19[SPEAKER_03]: Why not?
- 51:22[SPEAKER_03]: Even morey, but it's just so funny.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Kirk has DJed some things before.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_03]: He DJed a lizard and TJ's wedding.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I just would have loved for him to rock.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_03]: The last rock of, of hip.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we don't get that.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe I'm Sebastian Bach was not available.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_03]: Because we don't see him at all.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember him.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_03]: I guess the baby shower.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what a bummer.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_03]: Total bummer.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: Couldn't have gotten Sebastian.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_01]: But... Yeah?
- 51:53[SPEAKER_03]: Is that your song for him?
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: You look good by song.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_03]: You don't watch Pregs and Mac?
- 51:57[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I haven't seen Pregs and Mac in a long time.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_02]: Little Sebastian, little horse?
- 52:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, I don't remember.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_03]: And Chris Pratt seems that song for him?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_03]: I haven't seen it in probably easily ten years.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to play that song for you after this.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, I would have liked for HEP to rock, but yeah, we can I accept Kirk.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_03]: So they start after dark tillers either in or he's out apparently is in, but it's unofficial and he's like,
- 52:29[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I don't want to prove of this, but you're doing it.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_03]: So they start after dark.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_03]: And later that day, it is dark.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_03]: The girlies are still walking through stars hollow.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_03]: And yet they only have one bag.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_03]: I wish that they had had more stuff.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_03]: Because I'm like, what's happening here?
- 52:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, maybe.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_03]: But everyone is trying, like, as they're chatting through everything, everybody's trying to come out with all the stuff.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_03]: They notice them.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_03]: They see them.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_03]: They go back out.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_03]: Very, um, sitcom, sitcom of them.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_02]: Not very love or girls.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_02]: Still love girls.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_02]: Still loved it.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_02]: It was not, I would not say it's canon to season one through sex.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_02]: But I loved it.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_02]: They did get a little stickless before they noticed them.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was like, are you going to stop?
- 53:10[SPEAKER_03]: Who's going to notice?
- 53:11[SPEAKER_03]: But I did love it.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_03]: I think Scott Scott was the person that needed to be the anchor to that.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_03]: And then they go back.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_03]: Because all of them were looking at them.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, you all see them.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, someone's, someone's stop, but then when they weave and the more light turns and looks and she's like, huh, what is that?
- 53:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_03]: But Laura is going to go to Suki's to get a fanny pack and worry is going to her lanes.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I love this scene at lanes.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_03]: And I wanted to sit right in between these two.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_02]: I would have loved to.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_02]: It would have been a tight squeeze.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_03]: It would have been, but they could have been the railing.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_03]: I could have watched, yeah.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I did watch.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_03]: They are so freaking cute these two.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_03]: Do we call this a cup of coffee?
- 53:53[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's tea.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_03]: So the tea is it tea?
- 53:55[SPEAKER_03]: Oh man.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_03]: Um, because I was going to and then worry picks it up and it's tea.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, it makes sense.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_03]: But um, it is just a really cute setup.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's giving um, suki and loralia on the pork.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like they're older now.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they're reminiscing and I refuse to believe this, like, propaganda, I'm not falling for a Billy thing.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know, okay, when she said Dave forgotsky's name, I was like,
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was okay, Dave, but not bringing him back.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_02]: But I was like Billy think.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not falling for Billy think was the first kiss.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_03]: No, I'm not.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_03]: It was Dave.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_03]: It was Dave.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_03]: But you can see Zach is pacing inside a little bit.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_03]: And he eventually opens the window and says, can I talk to you in private?
- 54:47[SPEAKER_03]: Lane comes inside.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_03]: He says Luke just called and he wants to start setting up, but the guest of honor is sitting right outside and you sing the town is basically face the town square.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_03]: And she says it's my last night with my best friend.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I found that really interesting.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_03]: Why went tomorrow be your last night with your best friend?
- 55:05[SPEAKER_03]: Like solo.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like just the two of them.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's true.
- 55:10[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say for all intents and purposes, like after the party or like as far as where he knows, like they could hang out tomorrow night.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's tough, but I just kind of want to be like, what time is it?
- 55:24[SPEAKER_03]: I would be like, hey, I love you, but like I got to go to bed.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_03]: You should go home.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I got to wake up with my kids when they wake up because they are kids.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're babies.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_02]: They don't.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_03]: They're babies to wake up in normal time, totally.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_03]: So by the time she comes back out,
- 55:41[SPEAKER_03]: Roy is spiraling.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, what if I'm a terrible reporter?
- 55:46[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody is telling me that I can do this, but how does everybody know?
- 55:49[SPEAKER_03]: Why does everybody just always give me that benefit of the doubt that I'm always going to do a good job?
- 55:52[SPEAKER_03]: But if I don't do a good job, and I'm like, yeah, honestly, probably set you up for a little bit of failure.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_03]: No, but Lane says she'll get better.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, she's like, then you'll get better.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I really enjoyed that.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_03]: I thought that was a good best friend conversation.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I really, really loved this conversation between the two of them.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_03]: Because this is when Ray brings up that Laura lives not freaked out at all.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, she's not even a little sentimental.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_03]: She's just making lists and doing stuff.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_03]: And Lane is like, I'm sure she's freaking out on the inside.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, I don't know, maybe.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that that was really sweet.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: The one thing that, again, felt just a little like,
- 56:26[SPEAKER_03]: I know that the writers were anticipating that this was the finale, but it was your friendship means so much to me.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_03]: That is very sweet, but had me just kind of like...
- 56:38[SPEAKER_03]: to direct.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's very direct because then she says, I feel like I had one.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're like hitting us over the head with it.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_02]: Which didn't they say that on the violin?
- 56:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't watch the violin.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_02]: I watched a clip of the violin on threads or something and I think that they said that they are too.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: So funny.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's a violin.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_02]: I thought you did.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_02]: I thought those in your lineup.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's not my lineup, but I know people are like really loving it.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's surprised.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: No, because I have on pretty little podcasts.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_02]: There's no violin.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I just assumed that you, that you knew the deets.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_02]: I've just been listening to things I don't understand, but I'll still listen to those girly sand.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_02]: I know you too, it's true.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, that part of it I was like, I feel like it in some ways, hitting us over the head with a lot of it.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, and that's what, what has me like, guys, this was this series finale, how did none of you
- 57:26[SPEAKER_03]: Really, no.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_03]: How did you not feel it?
- 57:30[SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of over the head, question.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_02]: As someone who is an expert in two haircuts, does Lane have extensions?
- 57:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I didn't notice.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_02]: Because she's jellyfishing a little bit.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_02]: But I didn't notice the way that I was already dying.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, kind of jellyfishing a little bit.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_02]: Not like Lane was.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_02]: Lane, Lane had a short cut.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_02]: with extensions and like when it was the side profile and we had because I actually really loved the camera set up of the scene too.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_02]: I did too on Lane and then like like a wide shot for Roy's close up and you didn't notice it in that one but you did notice it and maybe it was just her hair is that long and it was a styling was weird but it definitely felt like short hair cut.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_03]: That's very to thousand seven of them though to give her kind of contact that or extensions like that because I noticed in the last couple episodes that worries hair was kind of like that looked great but it was very like
- 58:28[SPEAKER_03]: very short in the front.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't tell if it was all the way around, but even when she puts her hair up, you can tell that she has really, at least like, lost, she has a lot of layers.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: Especially because in when she rejects Logan, famously her hair looks fantastic.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_02]: But in part because her layers are so, yes.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_02]: Curled so well.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_02]: So I think hers are layers.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_02]: But Lian's had one.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_02]: and then to one.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_02]: I love these things.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'm an expert in two haircuts because we all know.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_03]: We're talking about jellyfishing.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, so where I go back to the lower-rise house where lower-light is ironing.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_03]: and she's not crying before.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen this woman.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_03]: I have no time.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_03]: And she says, the flutter, the clothes and more you can fit in your suitcase.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_03]: And I was like, whoa, that's so true.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_03]: She's so right.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like, true.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_02]: But like, when she pulls out those clothes, I was like, they couldn't get any time here.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_03]: They truly couldn't.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_03]: And I had to see her everywhere, those little tiny tank tops, so fun.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_03]: But she's keeping herself very busy.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_03]: And I know this feeling of like, you were trying so hard to concentrate on this because as she says,
- 59:35[SPEAKER_03]: If she doesn't, she's going to fall apart.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because where he said, how can you be okay with everything?
- 59:39[SPEAKER_02]: And she's it's too soon.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_02]: I know that I'm going to fall apart.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_02]: We still have time left.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's too soon.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I started crying during that part too.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, are you kidding me?
- 59:49[SPEAKER_03]: Are you kidding me?
- 59:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_03]: Totally.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_03]: No, they weren't as it turns out.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_03]: As it turns out, they weren't putting us.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_03]: So, then we go to the town square.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_03]: They're setting up because now we're in lower-light at home.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_03]: The coast is clear.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's like one in the morning.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what Jackson says.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_02]: Because they ask where they can get a wedding tent at one AM.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_03]: But they basically scoured the entire town and woken people up to get things to set this up, which I think is really cool.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_03]: They eat side-tilly, namely a side-tilly.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_03]: She was so upset and they loved it.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they were like great.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly score.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_03]: So one of my favorite minds is when they're talking about needing more chairs and that they can get them from the high school gymnasium.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_03]: And they were like, I think that the door is chained and Brian's like, well, I could slip through.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_03]: I'm skinny like that.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_02]: I forgot that we see him there.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's all Brian, but I love everyone's looking to Luke.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_02]: Luke's in charge is a whole thing.
- 1:00:46[SPEAKER_03]: He truly is.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_03]: And he's gonna make sure the whole town makes this happen.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's so fun.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_03]: You know what else I really loved is that our honorary background actor who I believe was in like every single episode of Gilmour Girls, it's an actor named Robert Michael Lee.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_03]: He finally got a line.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_03]: Man number two.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_02]: Man number two.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so happy for him.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_02]: But what's it called?
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the round table.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_02]: Is that what it's called?
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_02]: Lazy Susan?
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_03]: No, he was for the DJ.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, the turn table.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_03]: Turn table.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't remember what he had in his hand.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_03]: How did my turn tables?
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it's really cool because we've seen him in the background of a lot of scenes.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_03]: Not just at Luke's diner, but mostly at Luke's diner.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_03]: And as a town's person, he got a line and I was so happy.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yay.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_01]: I was so happy to talk to him.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_03]: Me too.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_03]: But then we get a shriek from the distance.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's Babat.
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_02]: Which you reminded me of, um, release season six.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_02]: When Babat is like, Lou, he's like, I'm not going and she's wearing her boobs.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that really, really got me.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_03]: It felt very similar.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_03]: And she says, my ankles.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, okay, she's like, it's going to rain.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, she delivers another favorite line though about meteorologist and she likes them because they're kind of like astronauts crossed with fortune tellers and I was like holy shit that's so true.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, who loves meteorologists famously is Hannah.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah sister.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah loves meteorologists.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_02]: She loves meteorologists.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_02]: So much that, like, we're planning her birthday party around meteorology.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_02]: I love that.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_02]: I, yeah.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_02]: I just love astronaut cross with the fortune teller and I'm saying.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_02]: So true.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_02]: One hundred percent.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_03]: I loved it.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_03]: I loved it.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_03]: That made me laugh so hard.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_03]: But she says first thing in the morning like she double checked and it is going to rain.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_03]: There is a storm coming and she says my ankles.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_03]: You can take it to the bank.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_03]: And we find out you indeed can take the bang.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, they delivered on this ring.
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_03]: They sure did.
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and this is when, you know, Jackson says, where can we get a wedding tent at one am?
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_03]: And Zach says, I'm sorry, man, to Luke.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, it was a good thought because they're trying to come up with different solutions, but a wedding tent seems to be the only one.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_03]: we kind of leave that sitting there.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_03]: So then we, uh, it's the middle of the night and more like comes into a room for like one of the saddest things I've ever watched on the show, which is when she comes in and just like, sits and watches her sleep because this is so
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_03]: This is such a sentimental moment.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_03]: This is sad.
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_02]: This is hard.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I just wrote crying in all cabs.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_03]: And then simultaneously while she's doing that, Luke is at Luke's diner.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_03]: And he is up all night sewing tarps together.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_02]: Because if she don't know what it is, but you're like, he's putting something, something occurring, occurring.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_02]: The one part of this, another like very like slight quam that I have with this that I was, maybe not even quam, just like,
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_02]: Shock is men's pockets because he takes that long necklace box out of the drawer Looks at it and then put it in his pocket.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_02]: I know men's pockets are big men's pockets are wild.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was not the point of the scene, but I was like, oh my god, you're putting that in your pocket.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_02]: I could have put it in my pocket.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_02]: My pocket's so little.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, our pockets are very little
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: Our men's pockets like that.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_03]: You could put a whole necklace box in there.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_03]: They're vast.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what's in there.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's in a man's pocket.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_03]: So many things.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_03]: So many toppings bag.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_03]: Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins pockets.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Mary Poppins pockets.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_03]: Hot pockets.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_03]: How many times do we say pockets?
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but she does pull out the lower light necklace.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_03]: He looks at it.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_03]: He puts it in his pocket.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a reminder to us that the necklace is still there.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I like that he like kept it, but I was just like whoa Big box I know that little pocket.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's a big pocket.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_03]: I promise as it turns out.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I wrote in the pocket.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's a while.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, we can get the law laws the law laws the law laws
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_02]: And, well, with those of us, they're not by themselves.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_02]: There's a scene with it, and it's pouring rain and the girlies are in the Jeep.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: Boy, you can't get in touch with anyone because she's trying to say goodbye.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_02]: And as it turns out, she doesn't have to, because behold, there's a party.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_02]: There is a huge party in the spiritual realm.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_02]: Running towards them.
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's so clear that there's some sort of device that is creating the rain.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I love it.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_02]: Jackson and Zach run forward with umbrellas.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_02]: It seems planned, but it's not.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_02]: Were they just waiting for the girls to drive on?
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_03]: They were waiting for the girls to come.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_03]: They were like nobody answered their phones.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_03]: They'll come.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_03]: They'll show up eventually.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_02]: If we say nothing, they will come.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:52[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:52[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:52[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you?
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_02]: And she didn't.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_03]: Which I love.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_03]: I love that it was kind of a secret kept from Laura lie as well.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_03]: And so they get them bring them up to the party.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_03]: And they go under this tent and everybody is there.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_03]: And it's so sweet.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_03]: I do too.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's so cheesy.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_02]: But like just everyone cheering for her.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: There's some people missing TJ.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_02]: TJ.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_03]: I know about this missing.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Sebastian Bach.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_03]: Who else was I like, where is this person?
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_02]: Would Chris have been there?
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_03]: That we got what we needed to out of him in the last episode.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we should have been there.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he's real good at a bon voyage.
- 1:06:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's true.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_03]: He is.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_03]: He's good at the ball.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to think because I do feel like there was someone I was kind of like, where is that person?
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it was TJ.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Mrs. Kim, where was she?
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_03]: Was she there?
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_03]: That is also weird.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think the last time we saw her was the baby shower.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_03]: That is weird.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_03]: But hey, what are you going to do?
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_03]: So everybody's there.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_03]: Very custom for the lips.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so have them there.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody was there and this is where I wrote.
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I'm just sobbing now because it was very sweet.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_03]: I loved Patty's face.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_03]: So cute.
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_03]: So Kirk comes in.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's the town sash maker, we all.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he's the town sash presenter and as the town sash presenter, he also made it as the official town sash maker.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_02]: No, of course.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_02]: from one of his mother's nineties and she goes, oh, but I love that this ass just says Rory Gilmore.
- 1:07:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I desperately want to sash the just says haily my gosh.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's so funny.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's so cute.
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_03]: And as he puts it on her, Laura Li realizes that her parents are there, which is very sweet.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_03]: Emily, is it one of her classic looks?
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_00]: Where did it go?
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_03]: Where did it go?
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_03]: She goes over and talks to them and Richard is incredibly sentimental with her.
- 1:08:08[SPEAKER_02]: But before he gets sentimental, she says things for coming in Emily says we wouldn't miss it, of course, for her grandparents.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I was like, you are her grandparents, so I love you.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_02]: I was like full crying at this point, like not even trying to stop it.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was just falling down.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, me too.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_03]: I just like, I wish I could show you all the tissues through them away, but I just was like, thank you for the Halloween.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, any time.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_02]: But this was through this emotional.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he gets very sentimental with her and what made me so sentimental about watching this.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_03]: is knowing the behind the scenes of, no, I didn't think about it.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_03]: Well, of them all kind of feeling like they're saying goodbye to each other because they don't know, but knowing what the future holds unfortunately for, you know, Richard's character and Ed Herman himself is very sad.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_03]: because she, because Emily goes, it's not as if you two were saying goodbye, and I'm like, but they are.
- 1:09:08[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Fraunton's a purpose is in the narrative.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_02]: They're not.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_02]: They're not for us.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_02]: They are.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_02]: They are.
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Tara, Tara, Tara.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm just like sobbing at this point.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_02]: I, and I think about this is like, when we're seeing him last, ooh.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_02]: the true goodbye.
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's very sad.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_02]: Emily hates it by the way.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_02]: She's like she hates it.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_02]: She can't stand this.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that's out of character or do you think she would let him do it?
- 1:09:38[SPEAKER_03]: No, I think this is very on par for her because of how emotional she gets later.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like, yeah.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_02]: But she says it takes her remarkable person to inspire all of this.
- 1:09:50[SPEAKER_03]: Because he says, like, I regret the, he basically is going to say, I regret that you felt like you had to run away to this place.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_03]: But at the same time, it takes a really remarkable person to inspire all of this.
- 1:09:58[SPEAKER_03]: Because this no party is not just for her, it's for you too.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_03]: And he's been very sentimental in the last couple episodes between the graduation and this.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_03]: And it's really sweet.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's very tender.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_02]: She was like, don't turn into one of those people as a heart attack and then get sent down to me.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_02]: He can't.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_02]: He can't.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_02]: And he will.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_02]: So, but that's when she says Emily, you two are saying goodbye.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_02]: She will.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, but you, unfortunately.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, God.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_03]: And so then she says.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_03]: Well, she asks will before before things get weird.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_03]: She says have you given any more thought to my spa idea and she lore like says No, I'm I'm honestly not interested and I was really surprised by that I don't know where they were trying to take that Well in this moment.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like where are you trying to take this and it wasn't until like the last bits between them that I'm like
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_02]: She's trying to get, yeah, kind of rub her back in.
- 1:10:54[SPEAKER_02]: Because she can't say, hey, I actually really like you as a person and as my daughter and I want to spend more time with you.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_02]: Could you come to dinner every week?
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Just, yeah, on your own, just because you want to.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_02]: But you can't say that.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_02]: No, we'll say that.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what I wish someone could necessarily tell her.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_03]: Taylor launches into this entire diet ride about how
- 1:11:18[SPEAKER_03]: The town is basically sending worry office if they're going through childbirth.
- 1:11:21[SPEAKER_03]: They're birthing turned to the world.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_02]: They're birthing.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_02]: Push you out into the world.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:11:25[SPEAKER_02]: Thank your bottom.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_02]: Wipe the ambiotic fluid out of your eyes.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_02]: I need to hear it again.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_02]: Really?
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, maybe our besties did not just rest.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_02]: And needed to be right there.
- 1:11:38[SPEAKER_02]: That they were.
- 1:11:38[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to spank Roy Gilmour's bottom before she went on to her job.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_02]: And then you go on as freight tour.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_03]: He goes, Rory.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_03]: Would you like to say a few words?
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_03]: That just happened to me like.
- 1:11:49[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_03]: Stop.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_03]: He should have had a dot pad on.
- 1:11:51[SPEAKER_03]: But I always guys, but also I was like, yes, someone else talk, please.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_03]: Anybody else?
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:11:58[SPEAKER_03]: But she, you know, she is getting sentimental.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, I don't want to gush, but I feel like I'm going to gush, but she does that and turn her mom and and thank her mom.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I just am now I'm
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_03]: crying.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love that she says I love this place.
- 1:12:13[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, because same worry.
- 1:12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Same.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think Alexis does a really good job of like feeling like she's been put on the spot, but filled with so much gratitude.
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_02]: Also that like awkwardness that worries always kind of felt with the town or like that we have felt with her, but um, it's really turns to her mom.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that I lose it because you're watching more in.
- 1:12:35[SPEAKER_03]: Watch Alexis is really what
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my gosh, I said her name and she was like, oh, I didn't say her name, but you don't do it.
- 1:12:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, watching Lauren watch her from that perspective and seeing the tears well up in her eyes is is hard because it's like when I when worry says, I am going to miss you so much.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_03]: You feel that from the actresses because like, yeah,
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_03]: They're had to have been some level that they kind of knew what this was.
- 1:13:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_02]: They saw it come in.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_02]: Some regard that they weren't there.
- 1:13:17[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't completely blindsided.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_02]: But there was a settlement that perhaps.
- 1:13:22[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that the part of it because it's so clear.
- 1:13:25[SPEAKER_02]: This is Rory and Laura Lye and they're having this moment but I think there's something so sweet about Lauren watching Alexis in this moment from like having come from where like we're at in our current rewatch and season one where she like
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_02]: famously like had to like drag her to her mark and like she's kind of manhandling her like jokingly they said in the ATX.
- 1:13:47[SPEAKER_02]: Reunion because she didn't quite understand what she was doing this was like her first role and now she's up there having had like seven seasons of experience.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's really sentimental too.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_03]: I totally agree.
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_03]: So they say, let's get this party started and we cut to some like the evening, it's dancing.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's disco ball.
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like they went all out here.
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_03]: Lou, I know.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_03]: To get it.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_03]: I have so many logistical questions, especially since I was in college there.
- 1:14:20[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, there you go.
- 1:14:21[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe that's where it was from.
- 1:14:22[SPEAKER_03]: The contractor, Tom.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_03]: Not bad he was.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_03]: As they're serving food from Patti, who is Lauren Graham's stand-in, and she says, no brought worst.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I was like, I guess I was funny.
- 1:14:34[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I'm corn.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_03]: That was really funny.
- 1:14:36[SPEAKER_03]: Is that the substitute for a broth?
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I don't know.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm like, isn't that what you did get brought worse?
- 1:14:43[SPEAKER_02]: Because no, he didn't actually get it.
- 1:14:46[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't get it.
- 1:14:46[SPEAKER_02]: Charlie was trying to sell him on the right.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_02]: He got it.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_02]: He got it.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_02]: He put so funny.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_02]: Someone was going to eat it.
- 1:14:51[SPEAKER_02]: Is that for Patty?
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_02]: So, different patty, but patting on the left.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:14:57[SPEAKER_02]: Probably woman number one, woman number one.
- 1:15:00[SPEAKER_03]: But Emily comes over to Laura, like, because I think that they're going to head out.
- 1:15:05[SPEAKER_03]: But she says, she wants to talk about the spot.
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_03]: She's like, really, even if it's on a spot, could it be a tennis court?
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_03]: Like, she's in a bubble.
- 1:15:13[SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, I, what, what?
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_03]: and she says obviously we'll we'll loan you them like we're willing to loan you the money for it and obviously we'll want to get together to discuss it and that's when it clicks for lower life she goes to the head why don't we just talk about it Friday at dinner and Emily goes oh she's like yeah I figured that I might as well I mean we should still want to do that she says might as well have gotten used to it yeah that's very soon
- 1:15:45[SPEAKER_02]: I, I like that.
- 1:15:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think that I wish that Emily had been a little more um a little more Emily in that moment of like you still want to do that like I kind of like almost like accepting on cat like almost like uh not looking at gift horse in the mouth of like yeah, I will see you then don't read jeans
- 1:16:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I don't know I feel like there's a various moments of this Emily means a little bit to Uncertain and maybe it's maybe that's good.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we like it.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm decided but I just feel like it's on points.
- 1:16:22[SPEAKER_02]: She's not quite
- 1:16:23[SPEAKER_02]: Emily, mm.
- 1:16:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, this is good Emily.
- 1:16:26[SPEAKER_03]: I think because it's a very sentimental episode.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I still loved it, especially when she says to Rory.
- 1:16:34[SPEAKER_03]: It is an honor to be your grandmother, Rory Go More.
- 1:16:38[SPEAKER_03]: which is very sweet.
- 1:16:39[SPEAKER_03]: Very much.
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, come on y'all.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 1:16:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like by again, we are kind of hitting the audience over the head with this diet.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_03]: As sentimental and emotional as it is.
- 1:16:50[SPEAKER_03]: And I love that line.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_03]: It is to me.
- 1:16:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just sitting here going like, this is the finale.
- 1:16:57[SPEAKER_02]: This is it.
- 1:16:58[SPEAKER_02]: This is it.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's over.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's over.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_02]: Are you guys reading the lines?
- 1:17:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:17:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:17:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:17:04[SPEAKER_03]: So, but I do love.
- 1:17:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think there was hope, though.
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_03]: Of course.
- 1:17:08[SPEAKER_03]: And I always love hope.
- 1:17:10[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 1:17:11[SPEAKER_03]: Big fan of hope.
- 1:17:13[SPEAKER_03]: Not a hope I haven't loved that I met.
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_03]: Well, so true.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_03]: But anyway, I do love with the name of it.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't loved.
- 1:17:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's actually what I meant to say.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, that didn't make any sense, Ali.
- 1:17:25[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, anyway, back to it.
- 1:17:27[SPEAKER_03]: I do love that, like, Emily is the one telling what you're not to be emotional.
- 1:17:32[SPEAKER_03]: Whereas Emily then gets very emotional and she's like, okay, you know, Emily.
- 1:17:37[SPEAKER_02]: So we want to recall because she was like, not just postcards.
- 1:17:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's very sweet.
- 1:17:44[SPEAKER_03]: So she walks them to their car, it seems.
- 1:17:46[SPEAKER_03]: and suki enters the chat with Laura Lye and Laura Lye's thinking to her friends.
- 1:17:54[SPEAKER_03]: But thinking her profusely and saying like, you know, this is amazing and she's like, this was all Luke and she's like, yeah, he made a promise.
- 1:18:01[SPEAKER_02]: She's not to tell you, but I don't care, but I don't care.
- 1:18:06[SPEAKER_03]: She's like he stayed up all night doing this.
- 1:18:09[SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, when he found out it was going to rain, he literally got every tarpring coat, anything he could find to make this and make sure that this happened.
- 1:18:18[SPEAKER_03]: And that really hits Laurel, I, that's the grand gesture.
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_03]: That's nice.
- 1:18:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love that.
- 1:18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Um, Tiki says, can you believe that?
- 1:18:27[SPEAKER_02]: She says, yeah.
- 1:18:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:18:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, yeah, you can't.
- 1:18:30[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, of course.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:18:33[SPEAKER_03]: And so she starts walking towards Luke's.
- 1:18:35[SPEAKER_03]: I love all the little, the little like, a side's that come in like Kirk's your drum popped and.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_03]: But that's us.
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_03]: Do you want to make a morey sandwich?
- 1:18:44[SPEAKER_03]: She's like maybe later because she's got her eyes on the prize and she walks towards Luke's and Luke is coming out.
- 1:18:49[SPEAKER_03]: I assume it's something for the grill.
- 1:18:51[SPEAKER_03]: It's what it looks like in his hand.
- 1:18:53[SPEAKER_03]: And she says, thank you.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_03]: And he's like, oh, you know, it's no big deal.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's no big deal.
- 1:19:01[SPEAKER_03]: And then he says, I just like to see you happy.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_03]: And they kiss.
- 1:19:07[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think that they earned the kiss?
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_03]: It's difficult to say.
- 1:19:14[SPEAKER_03]: I really wish that this had been built up a bit more personally.
- 1:19:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think that we can talk about this next week, but season seven relied really heavily on everything that had been built, leading up to this point, to sustain the audience's curiosity and investment.
- 1:19:32[SPEAKER_03]: in relationships like Logan and Maurice, like Luke and Laura lies.
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_03]: Um, without, in my opinion, do Chris and Laura lie to.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, totally.
- 1:19:42[SPEAKER_03]: And without doing like the work within the scope of season seven to really keep that alive, because yeah, this does feel a little like, okay, and now they're suddenly back together.
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_03]: But it is really knowing the context of where we've come from and what we're rooting for as an audience because we didn't love how they ended things.
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_03]: Of course.
- 1:20:05[SPEAKER_02]: There was a little too much animosity in the last episode between them to get to this and like the whole
- 1:20:12[SPEAKER_02]: gestures that needed to be offered up that were encouraged by multiple of their side character, confidence, but I think that when they met each other in the street, there was too much tension for the next real interaction of them on their own.
- 1:20:30[SPEAKER_02]: to be this, them kissing.
- 1:20:32[SPEAKER_02]: I would have bought it.
- 1:20:34[SPEAKER_02]: All he said was, I'd just like to see you happy.
- 1:20:37[SPEAKER_02]: And like that was, that was it.
- 1:20:39[SPEAKER_02]: That was it.
- 1:20:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like I really think that sometimes like the better moment is not not to break the tension.
- 1:20:46[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with the kiss.
- 1:20:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like sometimes there's something sweeter in the possibility of what's next.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't see it open and dead.
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_03]: Whereas they really spelled it out for us here.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't.
- 1:20:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think either of them would have kissed.
- 1:20:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it would have led to a kiss.
- 1:21:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there was a could of, I think we could have built to it, but I think based on where we were at in the last, even two episodes.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_02]: No, I agree with you.
- 1:21:09[SPEAKER_03]: I just like to see you happy and then take a kind of, you know, pan's up, camera-wise.
- 1:21:15[SPEAKER_03]: I actually would have really loved that, because I did feel like this kiss was a little awkward.
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was just some, uncalled for is the wrong word, but it just was like, sudden.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_02]: But like, if you would have just said that, and they would have just been like, great.
- 1:21:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's just them walking back to the, no, I think we even could have left them standing there in the middle of the street.
- 1:21:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm staring at each other.
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I still would have been back that too.
- 1:21:38[SPEAKER_03]: Just look at each other.
- 1:21:39[SPEAKER_03]: You know?
- 1:21:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_03]: I would have liked that.
- 1:21:43[SPEAKER_03]: So we, they guess, we leave things there.
- 1:21:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:21:46[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I would have though loved for the chief.
- 1:21:49[SPEAKER_02]: We would have had like, you look nice.
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_02]: This is nice.
- 1:21:52[SPEAKER_02]: They always say nice.
- 1:21:53[SPEAKER_03]: Like that's like their thing.
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_03]: Who is nice?
- 1:21:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:21:57[SPEAKER_03]: So the next morning, it's five a.m.
- 1:22:00[SPEAKER_03]: and they're finishing up packing.
- 1:22:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's Monday.
- 1:22:03[SPEAKER_03]: And, uh, Laura, like, tells her she's like, oh, I'm not saying so sorry.
- 1:22:09[SPEAKER_02]: I just noticed this in my note.
- 1:22:10[SPEAKER_02]: The music was it turned us away.
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_02]: When they kissed, the music started up.
- 1:22:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I felt like that was a weird choice.
- 1:22:18[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like that took me out of it because I was like, yeah, it's the music from the party, but it's like suddenly not in the narrative anymore.
- 1:22:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's outside of it.
- 1:22:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's fair.
- 1:22:28[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was kind of, I thought that you would have noticed the music.
- 1:22:32[SPEAKER_03]: Um, I did because I was trying to figure out what song it was and I wish I had written it down, but it was more over than I was trying to find out.
- 1:22:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yes.
- 1:22:41[SPEAKER_03]: And I was trying to, um, I was trying to like really vibe with this moment.
- 1:22:46[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and I couldn't quite figure out what I didn't like about it and it was the kiss.
- 1:22:52[SPEAKER_02]: I would have liked a little Gilmore vacation a bit.
- 1:23:00[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think, you know, it's okay to associate an outside song.
- 1:23:04[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, then she appeared.
- 1:23:06[SPEAKER_03]: is, you know, just in worries.
- 1:23:08[SPEAKER_03]: But they do also get the law laws.
- 1:23:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, anyway, we are.
- 1:23:13[SPEAKER_03]: So, at the next day, morning, it's five a.m.
- 1:23:16[SPEAKER_03]: The girl these are finishing up packing and Laura likes has that she feels like she's a little ambushed.
- 1:23:20[SPEAKER_03]: She wishes that she had more time and she has more to tell her and she's rambling and she's like, you know, she's a good see.
- 1:23:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's a good see.
- 1:23:29[SPEAKER_02]: Which is such a good choice.
- 1:23:30[SPEAKER_02]: People will sit in the same seat.
- 1:23:32[SPEAKER_03]: No, so true.
- 1:23:33[SPEAKER_03]: Don't wear shorts, brings it block bags.
- 1:23:36[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I'll give you that orange sweater you've always wanted.
- 1:23:38[SPEAKER_03]: And as she's rambling, Rory says, Mom, you've given me everything I need.
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_03]: But just so sweet.
- 1:23:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, to your to everything that you've said of like, how did you guys not know?
- 1:23:54[SPEAKER_02]: This is it.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Rory says that.
- 1:23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how are you guys coming back?
- 1:23:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:24:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how you come back from that?
- 1:24:01[SPEAKER_02]: No, you're not.
- 1:24:02[SPEAKER_02]: This is the end.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_02]: This is the end.
- 1:24:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm crushed.
- 1:24:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:24:07[SPEAKER_02]: By her saying that, it's like, okay.
- 1:24:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, cool.
- 1:24:12[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, she said, right now.
- 1:24:14[SPEAKER_03]: She goes, it's five a.m.
- 1:24:16[SPEAKER_03]: What's the rush?
- 1:24:17[SPEAKER_03]: And she says, we've got to stop to make.
- 1:24:20[SPEAKER_03]: And this is quite possibly.
- 1:24:23[SPEAKER_03]: the most perfect way they could have ended this.
- 1:24:25[SPEAKER_03]: We get two cups of coffee.
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_03]: Luke opens early.
- 1:24:28[SPEAKER_03]: I do think they hit us over the head a little bit with the her wearing the necklace and him.
- 1:24:34[SPEAKER_02]: I can take all the time.
- 1:24:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and him being like, you know, take all the time you need.
- 1:24:38[SPEAKER_03]: That was cute.
- 1:24:39[SPEAKER_03]: But again, hitting us over the head a little too much with it.
- 1:24:42[SPEAKER_03]: I like the subtlety of what Amy offered us in seasons one through six.
- 1:24:46[SPEAKER_03]: It was never really this overt, right?
- 1:24:49[SPEAKER_03]: I think I would have felt like it wasn't overt if they hadn't kissed.
- 1:24:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_02]: And he would have been like, take all the time you need.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_02]: And it felt like there was tension there.
- 1:24:59[SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
- 1:25:01[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that I would have liked it.
- 1:25:05[SPEAKER_03]: You're right.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_03]: If the kiss hadn't happened.
- 1:25:08[SPEAKER_03]: And but I think that had she been wearing the necklace and we had noticed it as an audience, almost like an Easter egg, less reappointing it out.
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think I also would have liked that a little bit more too.
- 1:25:18[SPEAKER_03]: But then they start talking about, you know, just the logistics of everything.
- 1:25:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:25:24[SPEAKER_03]: And we pan out and that the law laws kick in.
- 1:25:30[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the finale of Gilmore Girls.
- 1:25:32[SPEAKER_03]: And it's, it's the last scene of the pilot.
- 1:25:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:25:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's such a, and this is where I said, like, you know, the Christian, I'm poor of it all.
- 1:25:41[SPEAKER_03]: And this feels like, oh, you really, really did your research in how this show, like, what the roots of the show were.
- 1:25:52[SPEAKER_03]: And this was it.
- 1:25:53[SPEAKER_03]: It's the same panel as the pilot.
- 1:25:56[SPEAKER_03]: And it's perfect.
- 1:25:57[SPEAKER_02]: The window doesn't make sense.
- 1:26:00[SPEAKER_02]: That's,
- 1:26:02[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it, doesn't it writing on it?
- 1:26:05[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, yeah, you're so right, it does.
- 1:26:06[SPEAKER_02]: It was, it was a weird, it was a different set up.
- 1:26:08[SPEAKER_02]: There's like lights around it.
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like they tried to set it up the way that the pilot was shot.
- 1:26:13[SPEAKER_03]: And the pilot was arguably a different.
- 1:26:15[SPEAKER_02]: It was, it was a different looks, but I kind of wish they would have left it as like what looks is now to show that like everything's the same, but things change.
- 1:26:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I did like it.
- 1:26:26[SPEAKER_02]: I loved it.
- 1:26:27[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a perfect little ending.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 1:26:31[SPEAKER_02]: To our little show that had a really rough last season.
- 1:26:34[SPEAKER_03]: It had a really brutal last season, but I think overall I did enjoy this episode.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_03]: Me too.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_03]: There were a lot of discrepancies I had with some of the lines in the language and it feeling a little too after school special and sitcomy.
- 1:26:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a little heavy handed in the way that they kind of hit us over the head with some things, but on the whole I would probably rate this.
- 1:26:58[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, like a seven.
- 1:27:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was gonna say something that I have actually.
- 1:27:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, seven or an eight.
- 1:27:02[SPEAKER_03]: It was kind of where I was at.
- 1:27:04[SPEAKER_03]: So even an eight.
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_03]: I've given an eight.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, when you brought Ed Herman into all of it, I was like, oh, I know.
- 1:27:12[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it's really, it is a very solid finale.
- 1:27:14[SPEAKER_03]: Even though I have, I take issue with some of the, you know, language dialogue and scenes and everything, like the way that Luke and Laura lie.
- 1:27:24[SPEAKER_03]: We bring that full circle.
- 1:27:26[SPEAKER_03]: I do think it's a really great way to wrap everything up.
- 1:27:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think that like I mean yes when you get down to the nitty gritty of it some of the things could have been changed words kind of been cut like held back on some of the emotions push forward on others but I actually think this is a really good series finale just in general like in terms of like if we lined up series finale I think this one does a good job
- 1:27:51[SPEAKER_02]: The only reason I've riot is because, like, my show's over unexpectedly, um, so when I'm fourteen years old, um, and I had to wait nine years to see them again.
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but I mean, you'd see me again sometimes you never see your favorite characters again, but exactly anyway.
- 1:28:07[SPEAKER_03]: So I give it an eight.
- 1:28:09[SPEAKER_03]: I give it an eight as well.
- 1:28:10[SPEAKER_03]: We got four cups of coffee, which brings us to fifty cups of coffee for the season.
- 1:28:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, what about our guesses?
- 1:28:18[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you can talk about the next episode.
- 1:28:19[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we can talk about it in the next episode.
- 1:28:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:28:22[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, a pretty solid number of cups of coffee for the season.
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:28:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited to talk about what our predictions were.
- 1:28:30[SPEAKER_03]: But I would say overall a really, really good series finale.
- 1:28:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm glad we got to cover it on Pod with all of our besties.
- 1:28:38[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:28:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm interested to see how everyone feels about
- 1:28:42[SPEAKER_03]: You know, actually, please call us because we're going to have a season seven.
- 1:28:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:28:48[SPEAKER_03]: Call us with your feelings.
- 1:28:49[SPEAKER_03]: Kiss, no kiss, necklace, no necklace, like what did you think about some of the townies?
- 1:28:54[SPEAKER_03]: Like if you disagree with us, let us know.
- 1:28:56[SPEAKER_03]: Call our hotline or boys.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 1:28:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think from season seven, not just the sun.
- 1:29:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, your thoughts, ways that you maybe would have changed it because the next few episodes are really going to be all about season seven.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_03]: Next week is our season seven recap followed by season seven, go more to consider followed by a season seven, what it what if
- 1:29:16[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that like, that is a lot of season seven.
- 1:29:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I think in part because there have been a lot of requests throughout the term of Gilmour to say, yeah, four more season seven commentary of what ifs, but we've been wanting to finish it.
- 1:29:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I can't believe we've finished it.
- 1:29:33[SPEAKER_02]: But like we've been wanting to get to the end before we could give our like full thoughts on season seven.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll have more to say on that in the next episode.
