- 0:50Speaker 3: are you, Chris Marler? What's up, buddy? Good morning, Good
- 0:52Speaker 3: to see you. Hey this I know this is the
- 0:53Speaker 3: first time you ever heard the intro to the show. Yeah,
- 0:56Speaker 3: how was it?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Was?
- 0:57Speaker 3: It good?
- 0:57Speaker 4: So I've listened to you guys in the morning a
- 0:59Speaker 4: bunch as you called me out for yesterday. It is
- 1:02Speaker 4: at nine thirty am and beyond it is never I'm
- 1:05Speaker 4: not trying to wake up early listen to you and
- 1:06Speaker 4: Hester battery. I mean, I think I'd done it once
- 1:09Speaker 4: and I take Ali the airport and then I was like,
- 1:11Speaker 4: it's great radio.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I love it. We get back to that absolutely. Thank
- 1:14Speaker 3: you for the I guess the compliment, but thank you sir.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Good morning everybody, and I appreciate everybody joining in. We are,
- 1:23Speaker 3: of course live on remote from the Lshue Parade Grounds
- 1:25Speaker 3: and we were doing so for a fantastic reason at
- 1:28Speaker 3: Fantastic College. We told you a little bit about this
- 1:30Speaker 3: on our show yesterday and if you've listened to any
- 1:33Speaker 3: other shows throughout the day, we've all talked about it
- 1:37Speaker 3: all day long. We'll be here from the l Shup
- 1:38Speaker 3: Parade Grounds our show, Hunt, Palmer Show, mat Mascona Shall.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I'm looking at my left, I see Michelle Southern, I
- 1:43Speaker 3: see Brian how Dan. We got talk quo to seven three,
- 1:46Speaker 3: we got ninety eight point one here. We're all here
- 1:48Speaker 3: to support good Calls Team Kate. We are here to
- 1:53Speaker 3: raise awareness and try to encourage people to come to
- 1:57Speaker 3: the l Shup Parade Grounds today. There is a big
- 2:00Speaker 3: events a swab event happened in today front ten am
- 2:03Speaker 3: to five pm today four eleven year old Kate Kate Harget.
- 2:09Speaker 3: She is was diagnosed with a very rare form of
- 2:13Speaker 3: cancer and what she has to do is have a
- 2:17Speaker 3: bone mirror replacement and it's very it's a when I
- 2:22Speaker 3: started hearing about this, I learned a lot about it
- 2:24Speaker 3: because it's like, man, it's not like finding a blood donor.
- 2:27Speaker 3: It's like a very specific exera specific And so what
- 2:30Speaker 3: they're doing is they are trying to find a rare
- 2:33Speaker 3: match for her, and all it is is a little
- 2:35Speaker 3: cheek swab and to see if you would potentially be
- 2:38Speaker 3: a match. And the age group is the preferred age group.
- 2:42Speaker 3: The most likely chance is eighteen to thirty five. So
- 2:44Speaker 3: that's why they're holding these events at college campuses so
- 2:48Speaker 3: guarantee media. We decided to be a great idea if
- 2:51Speaker 3: we could, wouldn't it be cool if we could find
- 2:53Speaker 3: a match here? So I've been to be getting swabbed,
- 2:57Speaker 3: and I hope that you guys, if you're listening, you
- 3:00Speaker 3: could look into it. And if you have some time,
- 3:03Speaker 3: if you're around and will and enable you, you're you
- 3:05Speaker 3: would go into a database. And it's not just for Kate.
- 3:08Speaker 3: If anybody down the road word to match with you, you
- 3:11Speaker 3: would have that opportunity of the time to to help them.
- 3:13Speaker 4: It's also, like you said the thing about the blood dinner,
- 3:16Speaker 4: like it's a you don't know if you would be
- 3:19Speaker 4: a match the first place it is, it is kind
- 3:20Speaker 4: of more rare, so it's a really really good cause.
- 3:22Speaker 4: It will help along a long time.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, tell telomere biology disorder, so TBD. And it's a
- 3:27Speaker 3: bone marrow of failure disorder. So it's something I had
- 3:32Speaker 3: never heard of, but a it's a tree mutation. So,
- 3:38Speaker 3: and a biopsy this past fall, and then another biopsy
- 3:40Speaker 3: in February confirmed the results and so well, it's kind
- 3:44Speaker 3: of like up against the time clock too, so it's
- 3:46Speaker 3: not malignant yet, but it will be soon. So faster
- 3:49Speaker 3: they can get this and the bone marrow, it's the
- 3:53Speaker 3: better chance she has to find out what git down
- 3:56Speaker 3: here and get swapped swapped people. So we're gonna be
- 3:59Speaker 3: here all day, all the shows coming at you from
- 4:01Speaker 3: the parade ground. It's a beautiful morning too, it really is.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Glad it wasn't raining.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I didn't think what do you think about that? I
- 4:07Speaker 4: feel like we probably still would have done it. I
- 4:09Speaker 4: just would have been soaking wet.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Well.
- 4:12Speaker 4: I don't think Misconna would have let us not do
- 4:14Speaker 4: it outside outside.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I feel like he would have made me sit outside.
- 4:17Speaker 3: You guys in here with us holding down the floor.
- 4:20Speaker 3: What would we have done if it was raining today
- 4:23Speaker 3: because you got we got this electrical panel, we got
- 4:26Speaker 3: all this wire.
- 4:27Speaker 4: We could have figured it out, all right, get some
- 4:28Speaker 4: covers for all the equipment. Yeah, me and Flinner go
- 4:31Speaker 4: with technology. So I feel like we probably would have
- 4:32Speaker 4: just cause yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 3: True, Well, Cassie, thank you for being here. We got
- 4:39Speaker 3: a Landra and Taylor. Taylor, we heard your voice for
- 4:42Speaker 3: the first time in a long time. And it didn't
- 4:45Speaker 3: sound very good either. No, in fairness, that actually did.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And I don't know what happened. Man got choked up,
- 4:51Speaker 3: maybe emotional being back, not sure, but uh, we're here,
- 4:54Speaker 3: We're ready to go. Here, We're ready to go. I
- 4:57Speaker 3: think it might have been shocking his voice when he
- 4:58Speaker 3: saw you sitting here.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not Jacob Hester. That's an even better running
- 5:02Speaker 4: back from the late nineties and early two thousands.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Yes, right, and then yes again, that voice right there
- 5:08Speaker 3: is mister Chris Marler, who of course is nationally famous
- 5:15Speaker 3: SEC College takes totally all sports, but maybe even more
- 5:19Speaker 3: so for being just crushing the social media game here
- 5:22Speaker 3: at one in four or five.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we've been doing that for a couple of years now.
- 5:25Speaker 4: I think we're I think I had my two year anniversary.
- 5:28Speaker 4: It was not recognized at the office, which was pretty
- 5:31Speaker 4: frustrat we're on the parade grounds. I kind of you know,
- 5:33Speaker 4: seems kind of like a seamless thing. But no, we've
- 5:35Speaker 4: been doing that for like two years than writing like
- 5:37Speaker 4: sec over losing a sports net.
- 5:40Speaker 3: That's about it, man, Okay, a lot of fun and so.
- 5:42Speaker 3: But so you've been working for two years with the
- 5:44Speaker 3: social media stuff. But you made the move to Baton Rouge.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I love Baton Rouge.
- 5:49Speaker 4: If you guys have found any excuse to drink or eat,
- 5:53Speaker 4: which I have been doing for most of my adult life.
- 5:55Speaker 3: So fitting really well.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Also, I didn't know what a magnolia tree was until
- 5:58Speaker 4: I moved here, and that's beautiful. That's been really really nice,
- 6:01Speaker 4: and the campus is beautiful. I love I love Beaton Rouge.
- 6:04Speaker 3: What else do you love?
- 6:06Speaker 4: Long Walk?
- 6:08Speaker 3: What are the schools you love? I'm not doing this
- 6:10Speaker 3: with you.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I grew up in a household full of one request. Yesterday,
- 6:17Speaker 4: right off the bat I said, can we not do this?
- 6:19Speaker 4: We made it seven minutes into the show was.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Coming up first segment, So you go ahead tell the people.
- 6:26Speaker 4: A huge fan of Georgia College and State University played
- 6:29Speaker 4: baseball there.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Everyone knows that is.
- 6:30Speaker 4: It's basically the LSU baseball of Baldwin County, Georgia, which
- 6:34Speaker 4: is great. I grew up in a household full of
- 6:36Speaker 4: Alabama fans, so that was the fanom I grew up around.
- 6:39Speaker 4: I was a big fan of you, even in college fans.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Okay, I grew up a house full of Baylor Bear fans.
- 6:46Speaker 3: That's way worse. No, No, it's not. Actually, were you
- 6:49Speaker 3: near Waco? No, it was in Tyler, Texas. I've heard
- 6:52Speaker 3: of Tyler. Sorry, family went there to Baylor.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Are you getting defensive after you started this whole segment making.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Fun of me? You're an Alabama fan.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Well, guess what, my whole family also went to Alabama. Nope,
- 7:02Speaker 4: not at all, none of them, none of them, just
- 7:04Speaker 4: fully eighty five percent. None of them went to Obama
- 7:07Speaker 4: like most of the fan base.
- 7:08Speaker 3: But okay, so I am curious. We've never really talked
- 7:11Speaker 3: about this. You did. So you're not from Louisiana, No,
- 7:14Speaker 3: from Atlanta, Georgia. So how did you get connected with
- 7:18Speaker 3: one of four or five?
- 7:19Speaker 4: That's a great question. I thought you were going to
- 7:20Speaker 4: go somewhere else. I'm glad we went here. I met
- 7:23Speaker 4: Matt at like media Days, okay, and we hit it
- 7:26Speaker 4: off and to the point where I was like, man,
- 7:28Speaker 4: we have a ton in common.
- 7:30Speaker 3: We're clearly friends.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Luckily I found out afterwards we did not have a
- 7:34Speaker 4: ton in common because he's he is the most He's
- 7:37Speaker 4: I'm not saying I'm not hardworking. He's the most hardworking
- 7:39Speaker 4: person I ever met in my life. Love Matt Mascona
- 7:41Speaker 4: for giving me the opportunity here yourself. You know we're not
- 7:46Speaker 4: alike at all. He works really hard, and then there's me.
- 7:49Speaker 4: No Matt and I think met at media Days and
- 7:51Speaker 4: then like I was at Saturday down south and I
- 7:54Speaker 4: was hoping to leave, and luckily it all worked out
- 7:58Speaker 4: to where there was a spot that you guys need
- 8:01Speaker 4: to field here, and I moved down here. But I
- 8:02Speaker 4: was in Atlanta first doing this remote and then are
- 8:06Speaker 4: working remote, and then I was like, man, everyone else
- 8:07Speaker 4: is having way more fun in Baton Rouge. I don't
- 8:09Speaker 4: want to be over here. I saw like Taylor and
- 8:13Speaker 4: Landra and everyone going to like all the LSU games,
- 8:15Speaker 4: and I was like, this.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Is way better than Atlanta. Super fun.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and Atlanta's fine, But like I'm glad to be here.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so we were when we asked you to
- 8:28Speaker 3: come closet the show, and I told you, I'm like,
- 8:31Speaker 3: all right, So I didn't really you know, a lot
- 8:34Speaker 3: of the chops. But you you're you're kind of freaking
- 8:36Speaker 3: a lot of the a lot of the TV shows
- 8:39Speaker 3: or radio shows. You're kind of like you're like a sec.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I would think, I would. I think that's a good
- 8:45Speaker 4: word for it. Okay, I think like fine bomb and stuff,
- 8:48Speaker 4: not as a caller, which is nice.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah. Did you know that the NFL has a thing tonight.
- 8:53Speaker 3: It's called the NFL Draft. I heard about it. Yeah,
- 8:55Speaker 3: so they got to go to Iran. What now, what happened?
- 8:58Speaker 3: Would you say?
- 9:00Speaker 4: Not that kind of draft? Yeah, this is one of
- 9:02Speaker 4: my favorite days ja sports. Oh that's right, that's my bad.
- 9:06Speaker 3: That's what you know.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Let's start the show over segment three. We wouldn't get
- 9:10Speaker 4: into Elan. How's the chat doing?
- 9:15Speaker 3: The chat's fantastic. I actually Marler, uh.
- 9:18Speaker 4: You know, don't tell me anything from the comments.
- 9:20Speaker 3: No, I'm not gonna tell anything for the comments. Marler
- 9:23Speaker 3: is self conscious. I would say, is that a safe
- 9:25Speaker 3: word for it? I wasn't gonna I wouldn't be. I
- 9:27Speaker 3: wouldn't open with that. We're ten minutes in, I wouldn't.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I would say sensitive for sure. Okay. I wouldn't have.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Openly said self conscious because that would have added me further.
- 9:34Speaker 3: But yeah, well I did want to say sensitive at
- 9:35Speaker 3: first because I didn't want you to get.
- 9:36Speaker 4: What else we bring up about it? I barely passed
- 9:38Speaker 4: eighth grade. Do you guys want to talk about that?
- 9:43Speaker 3: All right? And the only other let's see, the only
- 9:45Speaker 3: other thing I know about you is you are a
- 9:47Speaker 3: big cat lover.
- 9:49Speaker 4: No, I don't like cats. Cats are like snakes with legs,
- 9:53Speaker 4: like they are always up to no good. I'm not
- 9:55Speaker 4: a cat person, but I do love dogs.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Do you love dogs a lot? Okay? And you have
- 9:59Speaker 3: a dog? I do.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I have one. Name's Pepper. We can talk about her
- 10:03Speaker 4: for the full third hour if you want. I almost
- 10:05Speaker 4: brought her today, but I didn't want her to steal
- 10:07Speaker 4: my shine because that's what she does.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, why do you have to wait for the
- 10:10Speaker 3: third hour to talk about your dog? Do you really
- 10:12Speaker 3: love her?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Don't start this. I don't start this. She's probably watching
- 10:15Speaker 4: right now.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Wake up this earlier.
- 10:18Speaker 4: She gets unlike me. She gets up super really hard worker,
- 10:22Speaker 4: gets up early. Yeah, that's Pepper.
- 10:26Speaker 3: That's Pepper for you. You guys know pep. But you're right.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You were about to say that this is one of
- 10:32Speaker 3: the greatest or the best days of the air miss.
- 10:35Speaker 3: It's probably a strong statement. The draft is cool because
- 10:37Speaker 3: there's so much build up to it. Yeah, but it is.
- 10:41Speaker 3: It's a good day. It's finally a day where it's
- 10:43Speaker 3: good for people that have sports shows because you could
- 10:47Speaker 3: stop guessing and having to talk about the same five
- 10:49Speaker 3: guys under the same right at the same time.
- 10:52Speaker 4: So you know, what's crazy to me is that there's
- 10:54Speaker 4: jobs in sports that I'm like, how did that person
- 10:57Speaker 4: do that? Joe Lonardi works for ESPA. It does a
- 11:00Speaker 4: great job, but his whole thing is bracketology. So in
- 11:03Speaker 4: like October, he's like, y'all, this is going to be
- 11:06Speaker 4: the sixty eighteen field in March madness, and you're like, brother,
- 11:08Speaker 4: it is October. Go take a nap. And he does
- 11:12Speaker 4: that every week for the whole year. And then I
- 11:14Speaker 4: guess he summers like a teacher would. He's just like
- 11:17Speaker 4: now he's done. But like the NFL mock drafts do
- 11:20Speaker 4: the same thing. They are not even remotely close when
- 11:22Speaker 4: they start doing this. I was looking at one of
- 11:24Speaker 4: our old graphics from yesterday and it was a projected
- 11:26Speaker 4: first round for twenty twenty six. It was right after
- 11:28Speaker 4: the draft from last year, and it was the first
- 11:30Speaker 4: three from the SEC. Garret Nussmyer number one overall. Why
- 11:36Speaker 4: am I drawing a blanket this? I cover this team club.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Nick Sellers Sellers Lenora Sellars was top ten, and then
- 11:43Speaker 4: Nick Harbor was the third highest, and then I think
- 11:45Speaker 4: there was three or four other ones in the top
- 11:48Speaker 4: in the top fifteen, and none of them are going
- 11:50Speaker 4: to be in the first round, like Deontay Lost and
- 11:52Speaker 4: Demonta Jackson from Alabama and one of the players. So yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 4: I mean it's a fun day. I'm glad that we
- 11:56Speaker 4: don't have to have any more projections to it.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yeah, we've talked about that a lot. It's like where
- 12:00Speaker 3: we were at SEC media day. Yeah, like talking about
- 12:03Speaker 3: all those people that were there, like all the quarterbacks,
- 12:05Speaker 3: the quarterback power rankings. It just got flipped on its head.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Was a pretty it was a pretty wild ride, and
- 12:11Speaker 3: certainly probably the leader at that pack would be our
- 12:14Speaker 3: own Garrettsmeyer. We'll talk a little bit more about throughout
- 12:17Speaker 3: the show today. So excited he was on Gruden last night.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Yesterday they finally dropped the Ruden QB School or QB
- 12:23Speaker 3: class or whatever he calls it.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Is.
- 12:26Speaker 3: John Gruden like one of the funniest dudes. Unintentionally, He's unbelievable. Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Also, I do love how mad he gets about on
- 12:35Speaker 4: every episode. Every episode, I'm so dumb that every episode
- 12:38Speaker 4: I watch, I'm like, that guy is going to be
- 12:39Speaker 4: the best quarterback in the history of college or NFL football.
- 12:42Speaker 4: And it's like like the Sawyer Robertson or a kid
- 12:45Speaker 4: from from Baylor.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Yep. He was like, I deleted my LinkedIn.
- 12:48Speaker 4: I never even updated it, and it was like, brother,
- 12:50Speaker 4: you should probably be on the safe side. Fernando's over
- 12:53Speaker 4: here like live live posting from his LinkedIn.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Huh, Well, we'll get into that. We'll get into a
- 12:58Speaker 3: lot of draft, we'll get have some gear. And I'm smart,
- 13:00Speaker 3: but I did want to, Like I told you yesterday,
- 13:02Speaker 3: I gave you fair warning too about the show. I said, hey, look,
- 13:05Speaker 3: i'm gonna be coming in. I'm gonna be a little tired.
- 13:07Speaker 3: About three or four months ago, I committed to a
- 13:10Speaker 3: concert in New Orleans with some friends, and well, they
- 13:15Speaker 3: had to call that in. They had to remind me,
- 13:16Speaker 3: like last week that I had a concert, and I
- 13:19Speaker 3: was like, oh gosh, yep, I sure do. Jake's not
- 13:22Speaker 3: gonna be here next Thursday. Probably shouldn't go this concert.
- 13:24Speaker 3: But of course I went to the concert, went down
- 13:26Speaker 3: to New Orleans. It was my first experience with a
- 13:28Speaker 3: jam band. How do you feel about jam bands? Big
- 13:32Speaker 3: jam bang guy?
- 13:32Speaker 4: When I was like twenty six and under big fan,
- 13:35Speaker 4: I still it's like Dave or sometimes I'll pop in
- 13:37Speaker 4: like an old Oar okay, but none of the other ones.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Well, this this was the band. I've never been to
- 13:42Speaker 3: a jam band. Well, I mean, I guess. If you
- 13:44Speaker 3: say Oar is a jam band, I guess. But they're
- 13:46Speaker 3: a little bit more like they have lyrics. Yeah, so
- 13:50Speaker 3: I went to it was at the Sanger Theater. It's
- 13:53Speaker 3: like a big deal. Apparently a band called Goose. I've
- 13:56Speaker 3: heard of Goose? You heard of Goose? I had never
- 13:58Speaker 3: heard of Goose.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's we were moving for you to
- 14:01Speaker 4: go and Geese.
- 14:02Speaker 3: That's a different band.
- 14:03Speaker 4: So there's a solo artist. He broke off like Don
- 14:05Speaker 4: Henley from the Eagles. That was Goose and they used
- 14:07Speaker 4: to be the Geese.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yeah. No, it's completely different genre apparently than Geese. I
- 14:11Speaker 3: went and my god, it's legit. They're good. Well, okay,
- 14:16Speaker 3: they are very talented. Yeah, and like the first four
- 14:20Speaker 3: songs were incredible. Now and the first four songs lasted
- 14:23Speaker 3: three and a half. It was an hour and a
- 14:24Speaker 3: half for the first it was but it was good.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Like they were talented and they just like kept going
- 14:30Speaker 3: and it was like, man, I was watching people with
- 14:33Speaker 3: great people watching, like there's this one guy they started
- 14:35Speaker 3: the song like he started in Louisiana and by the
- 14:38Speaker 3: end the song, he he ended up in space. Yeah,
- 14:40Speaker 3: he was I meane eye contact with another guy. It
- 14:43Speaker 3: looked like he hadn't blinked since like two thousand and four.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Love that. It was unbelievable.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I feel like that's one of
- 14:50Speaker 4: my favorite comedic bits about this. Kyle Kanane, you saways say,
- 14:54Speaker 4: I don't love jam bands because all I see or
- 14:56Speaker 4: hear is five step dads that don't know when to
- 14:59Speaker 4: stop and just they just keep going, just keep going.
- 15:02Speaker 3: There's a lot of you know guys, you know, I'm
- 15:04Speaker 3: I'm I'm forty, so I can't like say older guys
- 15:07Speaker 3: now because I'm kind of that. But there's older people
- 15:10Speaker 3: than me with like a lot of widespread panic ye
- 15:13Speaker 3: different you know, guys that have been around the block.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Yeah, and Bill Walton in them.
- 15:17Speaker 3: But I got to say there was a lot of
- 15:18Speaker 3: kindred spirits when it comes to dancing there. It was
- 15:21Speaker 3: like you got to stay like everybody's in the pocket,
- 15:23Speaker 3: just moving back and forth. That's my type of dancing.
- 15:25Speaker 4: And I don't feel like that's the kind of dancing
- 15:27Speaker 4: goes on there.
- 15:28Speaker 3: No, it is. Oh really, Well, it's at the sacred
- 15:30Speaker 3: like you're in seats, so it's not like in a It's.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Not a lot more orange.
- 15:35Speaker 3: There's there's a little bit of that, but there's a
- 15:38Speaker 3: lot more just like swaying back and forth than not blinking. Okay,
- 15:43Speaker 3: that's really kind of what happened.
- 15:45Speaker 4: I really want to reiterate the not blinking part. I
- 15:47Speaker 4: think six two thousand and four is a crazy, crazy description.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Yeah. So they played two nights in a row, and
- 15:53Speaker 3: I think each concert was like two and a half
- 15:55Speaker 3: two hours and forty five minutes. Yeah, and there's a
- 15:57Speaker 3: thirty minute intermission because they just like that they're playing
- 16:01Speaker 3: the same notes over and over. Yeah, like eighteen minutes
- 16:05Speaker 3: nine songs shut up? Yes, so okay, So I don't know.
- 16:09Speaker 3: We didn't finish, We didn't stay the whole thing. Yesterday, shockingly,
- 16:11Speaker 3: I had to get back to New Radio with you. Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I didn't get back to about one thirty, but we
- 16:16Speaker 3: stayed for a while. Do you think they're still playing
- 16:18Speaker 3: They could be still playing that same song on the eleven. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 3: they're on the song eleven. I always love that too.
- 16:24Speaker 4: And like people are getting the jam bans, like really
- 16:26Speaker 4: get into jam bands or they're like, doud, this is
- 16:28Speaker 4: my this is my thirty eighth show in the last
- 16:31Speaker 4: five years, like sick bro Like they would zoom in
- 16:34Speaker 4: on like during the COVID years yep. And but like
- 16:37Speaker 4: the idea that those shows are totally different always kind
- 16:39Speaker 4: of cracks me out.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Yeah, And I was just like watching it. I'm like, man,
- 16:42Speaker 3: these guys, like the guy is a nice voice, he
- 16:44Speaker 3: should use it every now and then the people say
- 16:48Speaker 3: about you, thank you so much. So these jam bands,
- 16:52Speaker 3: they just it's like all build up. It's just like
- 16:54Speaker 3: they just like tease you with the voice.
- 16:56Speaker 4: There's ever a bat drop, it just turns into eat
- 16:58Speaker 4: another riff on the guitar.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Yep, you know. But it was impressive. They were very talented.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I enjoyed it. I did it. Yeah, I don't really
- 17:05Speaker 3: do there was you ever been to jam ben you
- 17:14Speaker 3: have you ever heard that term before? You're a little
- 17:15Speaker 3: Youngah heard that Don Henley reference, which is thirty years
- 17:18Speaker 3: ahead of her time. All right, let's go to break
- 17:22Speaker 3: stick with it. We got a great show when Chris
- 17:25Speaker 3: Marler coming at you from the L s U Parade
- 17:28Speaker 3: grounds all day. Stick with us, all right, we're gonna
- 17:31Speaker 3: talk all things draft. What have we got? Chef Michael
- 17:34Speaker 3: Johnson on the show later, Oh I love that segment.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Well you're gonna be part of it, all right, talk
- 17:39Speaker 3: about food. Get a food question, I go to I
- 17:41Speaker 3: got plenty, that's right. Ross Jackson's gonna join us in
- 17:43Speaker 3: the eight o'clock hour as well, and we're gonna try
- 17:45Speaker 3: to see if Jacob Hester is not too big time
- 17:47Speaker 3: to join us at some point. Is what had come
- 17:49Speaker 3: live at from the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh. So uh,
- 17:53Speaker 3: stick with us right here, We'll be right back right
- 17:55Speaker 3: here and off the bench, off the bench, all right,
- 18:01Speaker 3: go to get Gordon dot com. That is get Gordon
- 18:05Speaker 3: dot com. Uh, and of course that's the website for
- 18:07Speaker 3: Gordon mccurnon Injury Attorneys. If you have been injured, and
- 18:12Speaker 3: whether it's on the in the car wreck, you get
- 18:13Speaker 3: a little fender bender on the way to work, maybe
- 18:15Speaker 3: you were rushing around like Marler does. Sometimes just things
- 18:19Speaker 3: happen and they're not always going to be your fault.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Maybe you're injured on the job site, maybe a little
- 18:24Speaker 3: slip and fall, hand it, whatever it is, make sure
- 18:26Speaker 3: you give Gordon mccurn Injury Attorneys a call and let
- 18:29Speaker 3: them fight for you. They've been doing it a long time.

- 18:41Speaker 3: his charitable donations and all of his all of his events.
- 18:43Speaker 3: We've seen the billboards, we know what he does with
- 18:46Speaker 3: the g team in the NIL space. But at the
- 18:48Speaker 3: heart of everything, Gordon mccurnity Injury Attorneys are here to
- 18:51Speaker 3: fight for you. So anywhere in Louisiana doesn't matter what
- 18:53Speaker 3: the area code. It's called eight eight eight eight eight
- 18:55Speaker 3: eight eight. That's eight eight eight eight eight eight eight.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Or go to get Gordon dot com. Slipping side be Yon.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Don't you know your mind?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Tigers turn talkers. This is off the bench, all.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Right, welcome back in here, off the bench on Thursday morning, Flynn.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Chris Marler joining you from Yeah, the LSU Parade grounds. Yeah,
- 19:34Speaker 3: how's our view behind us? Do we like? Can we
- 19:36Speaker 3: see clock tower?
- 19:37Speaker 4: So that's Memorial Tower built in seventeen eighty four in Franklin.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Actually designed it and it was actually designed to keep
- 19:46Speaker 4: the British at bay.
- 19:47Speaker 3: So all the way from Beton Ruge, all the way
- 19:51Speaker 3: from Baton Rouge.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Betton Ru's a key figure in the industrial and also
- 19:55Speaker 4: American Revolution.
- 19:56Speaker 3: So okay, well there you go, people I reached. I
- 20:00Speaker 3: wouldn't believe. There's a lot of things that Chris Marler
- 20:04Speaker 3: is very good at. Oh no, there's not. And you
- 20:07Speaker 3: can believe what he says anything about sec anything you
- 20:11Speaker 3: see on our social media page, for sure. But when
- 20:13Speaker 3: you start quoting history, I think probably be whare that's
- 20:15Speaker 3: where we stop. Yeah, for sure, I guess it could
- 20:18Speaker 3: have like no Britz would have done. What to do
- 20:20Speaker 3: with that?
- 20:21Speaker 4: If they built that a full one hundred years before
- 20:23Speaker 4: LSU open, that'd be kind of crazy, I am, I
- 20:25Speaker 4: will tell you. Moving to Baton Rouge, I've been really
- 20:27Speaker 4: getting into like we've leaned in hard.
- 20:30Speaker 3: We love it. We just love it here we really.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Do you consider yourself an LSU fan enthusiast follower?
- 20:36Speaker 4: Well, I'm an objective member of the media, and so
- 20:38Speaker 4: I can't be out of here cheering in size.
- 20:41Speaker 3: But I hate every other school except LSU.
- 20:42Speaker 4: So I Matt gives me a hard time about this
- 20:44Speaker 4: all the time because I I just I do love
- 20:47Speaker 4: college football so much. So like my fiance went to Auburn,
- 20:50Speaker 4: I will, on occasion pull for them if it makes
- 20:53Speaker 4: her happy. I pull for LSU in every game that
- 20:57Speaker 4: they play, except for you know, one or two.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Except for one or two. Okay, So I would say
- 21:02Speaker 3: an enthusiast, yeah, I like, I love the tradition here.
- 21:06Speaker 4: I get some I nerd out about this stuff so
- 21:07Speaker 4: much so we were driving up here today right and
- 21:12Speaker 4: pulling up in our new VW Atlas from South Point VW.
- 21:16Speaker 4: There you go. Nope, they can't do that. I thought
- 21:18Speaker 4: that was they swaunched the swaunsored. Okay, well anyway, and
- 21:25Speaker 4: we talking so much, we passed by the what was
- 21:29Speaker 4: it the AG Center, and it's like, there's that's crazy
- 21:31Speaker 4: that that is just it's an accenter and that's where
- 21:34Speaker 4: Pete Marrivitch put up like forty eight points a game
- 21:36Speaker 4: one year. Like, that's there's so much history here.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I love. Did you walk in it and take a selfie?
- 21:40Speaker 3: I did not do that.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Because it felt like there's a lot of livestocking there
- 21:43Speaker 4: now which I don't know, and I got shoes on.
- 21:45Speaker 3: But it's still where he was. Still take a selfie.
- 21:47Speaker 3: We'll do it after the show. Yeah. Well, if you're
- 21:49Speaker 3: wondering clock towns right here, yeah, right in this thing,
- 21:53Speaker 3: you can't really see it. How many milligrams of caffeine
- 21:57Speaker 3: are in this water bottle with the red stuff? Four
- 22:01Speaker 3: hundred four hundred. That's it. That's it. I think that's
- 22:03Speaker 3: the over the recommended limit per day.
- 22:06Speaker 4: We I did ten hours of energy to wake up.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Took two five hours. I'm sure with this one.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Yeah, now you got this one. Yeah, Okay, we're gonna
- 22:14Speaker 3: about he's about the amount of milligrams you're gonna have
- 22:17Speaker 3: before the show's ever is gonna have a comment in
- 22:19Speaker 3: it for sure. Yeah, okay, what's your average milligrams per
- 22:23Speaker 3: day intake? You think we're about at it? I think okay,
- 22:25Speaker 3: but you usually don't wake up to like nine.
- 22:28Speaker 4: I forgot about that second five hour.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I don't wait. I wake up at seven thirty every day.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I don't wake up.
- 22:33Speaker 4: I've really done a bad job of painting myself on
- 22:35Speaker 4: positively the first thirty minutes of this show. No, we
- 22:39Speaker 4: get up early every day and then we we just
- 22:41Speaker 4: you know, we get it going. I shouldn't have brought it.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Let's get back to the draft.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Well, okay, all right, fair enough. I know you want
- 22:48Speaker 3: to like just dive right into this draft because you are,
- 22:51Speaker 3: like you said, you're a college sports fan, no matter
- 22:53Speaker 3: really what the sport or the school you know, especially Alabama.
- 22:59Speaker 3: But those guys that play college football, yeah, have to
- 23:03Speaker 3: go live out their dream of play in the NFL.
- 23:05Speaker 3: And that dream comes true tonight for thirty two individuals
- 23:08Speaker 3: who will be drafted in the first round and all lies.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Of course, around here, most of the talk that has
- 23:14Speaker 3: dominated are one of four or five. ESPN draft talk
- 23:19Speaker 3: is certainly the number eight pick so you were doing
- 23:23Speaker 3: a little research yesterday. I was proud of you. Thanks dude, Hey, dude,
- 23:27Speaker 3: anything anytime you still you were researching, you were sending graphics. Yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 3: and you made some graphics. And that's what you do.
- 23:34Speaker 3: That's your day job. You made graphics, you post, you
- 23:36Speaker 3: get creative. So we got some odds for to be
- 23:40Speaker 3: the Saints number eight pick. And these are the odds.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Per is this drafting.
- 23:44Speaker 4: This is from bed online.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Okay, bet online, and the favorite to go number eight
- 23:52Speaker 3: to the New Orleans Saints is wide receiver Jordan Tyson
- 23:54Speaker 3: out of Arizona State. He's plus two twenty five, so
- 23:58Speaker 3: he is. He's by far the favorite. He is more
- 24:02Speaker 3: than double marksour Delaine, who's plus four fifty. Now we've
- 24:06Speaker 3: talked about Jordan Tyson. I don't know how much you know.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I know you're kind of hyper focused SEC, but Arizona
- 24:12Speaker 3: stay an incredible athlete, like one of the few guys
- 24:15Speaker 3: and Jake's talked about this a lot. He's one of
- 24:19Speaker 3: the few guys. Like if you were to point somebody
- 24:20Speaker 3: athletically that would fall in the top ten, like you
- 24:23Speaker 3: could say, all right, I could draft this wide receiver
- 24:26Speaker 3: and he is worthy of having a single digit number
- 24:29Speaker 3: by his name, it would be him. Now there's a
- 24:32Speaker 3: risk reward situation because he has soft tissue injuries. He's
- 24:37Speaker 3: had a history of injuries, and of course number one
- 24:40Speaker 3: receiver for the Saints, Chrystal Love has had the same
- 24:42Speaker 3: type of history. So you're kind of drafting the same
- 24:45Speaker 3: risk reward as you already have with the Lobvy. Now,
- 24:48Speaker 3: if he hits, he's going to be a home run.
- 24:51Speaker 3: But I think I do think that it's one of
- 24:53Speaker 3: these picks that if they make it, everybody's going to
- 24:55Speaker 3: be happy. Like, there's not a Saints fan that's going
- 24:57Speaker 3: to be upset about this pick. And there's a handful
- 25:00Speaker 3: there will least there will be one. There will be
- 25:02Speaker 3: that's there's beauty draft. There's gonna be somebody. But do
- 25:06Speaker 3: you know if you followed Jordan Tyson much, because I
- 25:10Speaker 3: certainly didn't until kind of this draft process, Yeah, what's happening.
- 25:15Speaker 3: He's not.
- 25:15Speaker 4: So he's not a guy that I like, Like I've
- 25:18Speaker 4: seen his name a bunch you look at like I'm
- 25:20Speaker 4: on the day of the draft. One of the things
- 25:21Speaker 4: I love to do more than anything is look online
- 25:24Speaker 4: at like fand old DraftKings bet online and just see
- 25:27Speaker 4: where the movement is with the money, because Vegas is
- 25:29Speaker 4: rarely wrong, right, Tyson is the favorite.
- 25:31Speaker 3: He wasn't a week ago.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Which interesting about this is that like less than a
- 25:34Speaker 4: week ago it was it was Carnal Tate, who still
- 25:36Speaker 4: has good odds, but some of the other players that
- 25:40Speaker 4: were much much higher have have really fallen off, and
- 25:42Speaker 4: so it really it seems like it's down to three people.
- 25:44Speaker 4: It's Tate, It's Tyson, or it's Monster de Laine my opinion,
- 25:48Speaker 4: and this is just like has nothing to do with
- 25:51Speaker 4: Tyson as a as a projected pro. I think he's
- 25:54Speaker 4: right now. His odds say that he would go under
- 25:56Speaker 4: eight and a half in the in the picks tonight,
- 25:58Speaker 4: so like by all means you will probably go in
- 26:00Speaker 4: the top ten. The same stunt draft LSU players. You
- 26:04Speaker 4: got a really good opportunity in a deep receiver draft
- 26:08Speaker 4: to get the best corner in the draft at eight,
- 26:12Speaker 4: and Mickey Loomis for the first time in a long
- 26:15Speaker 4: time it feels like has some like positive momentum because
- 26:18Speaker 4: they drafted really well as yeah, and so I think
- 26:21Speaker 4: that you can capitalize on that by having another year
- 26:24Speaker 4: of having a good draft for one, but also like
- 26:27Speaker 4: do yourself a favor and get in the good graces
- 26:29Speaker 4: of some of the fans around the state and get
- 26:30Speaker 4: get a kid from like like Monster Delane. Because here's
- 26:33Speaker 4: the thing too, there's not a defensive back at like
- 26:35Speaker 4: the CB two in this draft is either probably Colton
- 26:38Speaker 4: Hood from Tennessee or Jermond McCoy from Tennessee, and he's
- 26:42Speaker 4: got a lot of injuries. Like the difference between the
- 26:45Speaker 4: best corner and the second best corner.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Is a mile wide.
- 26:50Speaker 4: The difference between getting a guy like Tyson and I
- 26:52Speaker 4: think maybe Chris Bell and like the second round from Louisville.
- 26:55Speaker 4: I think that's that's where they should go.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and of course they're going to have to go
- 26:58Speaker 3: wide receiver. It's yeah. And I think a lot of this,
- 27:02Speaker 3: a lot of this these odds come from predicted availability
- 27:06Speaker 3: as well. You gotta think Jordan Tyson is going to
- 27:07Speaker 3: be available. You gotta think monts Sour has a good
- 27:10Speaker 3: chance of being available. And there's gonna be some movie,
- 27:14Speaker 3: there's gonna be trades, there's gonna be things happen in
- 27:16Speaker 3: the first five picks, probably at least the first ten
- 27:19Speaker 3: that you didn't think were gonna happen, because you know,
- 27:21Speaker 3: you can mock draft all you want, you can. Everybody
- 27:23Speaker 3: can do all these expert things, but you really know how,
- 27:26Speaker 3: don't know how the draft the trades are gonna take place.
- 27:28Speaker 3: But your top three Jordan Tyson, Monsour Delay and Monster
- 27:31Speaker 3: Delaine and Carneal Tate in the at least the betting nods,
- 27:34Speaker 3: those are the three favorites in the betting nods. Probably
- 27:37Speaker 3: a lot of that is dictated on availability. Ruben Bain
- 27:41Speaker 3: Junior is who I would probably lean towards, but I
- 27:45Speaker 3: don't know if he's going to be there or not.
- 27:48Speaker 4: So his stock has fallen over the arms, his little
- 27:51Speaker 4: arms t Rex little t Rex arms him and Will Campbell,
- 27:54Speaker 4: I mean, which again, like I know Will Campell struggle
- 27:57Speaker 4: a little, but at the end of the season, that's
- 27:58Speaker 4: still an elite offensive line. I'm in an elite left tackle,
- 28:01Speaker 4: even at the NFL level. I think Ban will be fine.
- 28:03Speaker 4: I mean, there's so much tape you see he's been
- 28:05Speaker 4: at his pro day. I mean, it was incredible. He's
- 28:08Speaker 4: a freak athlete.
- 28:09Speaker 3: It doesn't make it doesn't hurt you as a defensive end,
- 28:12Speaker 3: unless that's like a go to weapon for you to
- 28:15Speaker 3: use your arm length. Yeah. Yeah, But look, there's a
- 28:19Speaker 3: really high probability that the Saints fans for the majority, yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 3: will be happier today than they have been for the
- 28:27Speaker 3: majority of the last decade after Day one of the draft,
- 28:31Speaker 3: because I think you're going to get an immediate impact player.
- 28:33Speaker 3: You're going to get a guy that's a little sexier
- 28:34Speaker 3: position than what they're used to picking at that spot.
- 28:37Speaker 3: And Mickey Limis he spoke yesterday, and he did say
- 28:40Speaker 3: that they're comfortable where they're at now. They're always going
- 28:42Speaker 3: to look to see if there's a good opportunity. But
- 28:46Speaker 3: he seems to be based on what he's based on
- 28:49Speaker 3: his bourbage yesterday and the way he talked, that they're
- 28:52Speaker 3: going to be a little bit more risk averse and
- 28:53Speaker 3: like because they know at eight they are going to
- 28:56Speaker 3: get a good player and there's going to be a
- 28:57Speaker 3: good player available. Now it might not be the one
- 28:59Speaker 3: that they had as one A, but it might be there,
- 29:01Speaker 3: one B, one C. So he said they're going to
- 29:04Speaker 3: be risk averse, and I think he understands that they're
- 29:07Speaker 3: not just one player away, so don't do anything dumb
- 29:10Speaker 3: as far as like trading away a lot of assets
- 29:12Speaker 3: and trying to move up. Yeah, at least with that
- 29:14Speaker 3: first pick. I think it's a spot. I love it,
- 29:18Speaker 3: you said.
- 29:19Speaker 4: I think the best point that anyone has made ever,
- 29:23Speaker 4: Matt is what you just said.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah obviously, yeah, of course, and.
- 29:26Speaker 4: That is they're gonna They're gonna draft someone at a
- 29:29Speaker 4: much sexier position than what they usually do. Like that
- 29:31Speaker 4: offensive line spot has been like I mean, I think
- 29:34Speaker 4: the last two years.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Interarior offensive line, interior defensive line.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and so like getting getting a guy like
- 29:39Speaker 4: I mean, even this guy Bain, Like and I think
- 29:41Speaker 4: Bain his name hasn't been used as much or or
- 29:45Speaker 4: said as much around the Saints. I feel like just
- 29:48Speaker 4: because his name is also just sliding as of all
- 29:50Speaker 4: the music came out, you know, a week or so ago.
- 29:52Speaker 3: So let's not pick how good did people think he
- 29:56Speaker 3: was before they put a measuring tape on his shoulder
- 29:58Speaker 3: and and and stretched it to his wrist? Doesn't that?
- 30:01Speaker 4: I mean, like, when you just watched him play football,
- 30:04Speaker 4: how good of a football player did you think he was?
- 30:05Speaker 4: And then I was like, wait a second, he's got
- 30:07Speaker 4: t Rex arms.
- 30:08Speaker 3: We don't like that kind of shocking that. You know,
- 30:10Speaker 3: they don't use factual football tape to judge a football
- 30:13Speaker 3: player at all times. They like to pick a little bit.
- 30:16Speaker 3: But you know, I get it, you know, Jake. I
- 30:18Speaker 3: think Jake didn't like his arm length either, so we
- 30:21Speaker 3: didn't like his own arm length. No, Ruben bains, Okay,
- 30:24Speaker 3: Jake has great arms. I think the same same length arms, Jake.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Are they the same size?
- 30:30Speaker 3: No? No, not at all. Draft hester, dude, Come on,
- 30:35Speaker 3: he's available.
- 30:36Speaker 4: You want to talk about winning over a fan base.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Well, that's right, all right, We're gonna got a break,
- 30:39Speaker 3: and when we come back, we'll keep talking NFL Draft.
- 30:42Speaker 3: We'll we'll dive into some SEC baseball, some l s
- 30:45Speaker 3: U baseball. See, well, all things SEC right here with
- 30:48Speaker 3: Chris Marlis. So stick with us right here.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I'm off the bench, Off the bench, off the bench.
- 30:56Speaker 3: All right. If you work in an office and you
- 30:58Speaker 3: needed to run, you know, perfect lee smoothly, and you
- 31:00Speaker 3: want to work with the best office technology company around,
- 31:03Speaker 3: go to Golf Coast Office Products. Louisiana's leader in that
- 31:06Speaker 3: office technology and for over forty years, Golf Coast has

- 31:16Speaker 3: But what really sets Golf Coast apart is it's the people.
- 31:21Speaker 3: It's the customer service. It's calling somebody in the middle
- 31:23Speaker 3: of the day when those printers and copiers go down
- 31:25Speaker 3: and being able to speak with somebody that's going to
- 31:27Speaker 3: get a technician there fast. Their award winning local service
- 31:30Speaker 3: team responds fast and keeps you up and running and
- 31:32Speaker 3: treats your business like kids. And that's what you're That's
- 31:35Speaker 3: why you'll see their names and offices and schools, athletic departments.
- 31:37Speaker 3: That's why they're proud partners of the LSU Tigers, the
- 31:40Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints, the Pelicans, you name it. They are
- 31:43Speaker 3: the best in the business for offices all over at Louisiana.
- 31:46Speaker 3: So if your business needs reliable printers and they need
- 31:49Speaker 3: that better technology and that better service, go to Golf
- 31:51Speaker 3: Coast Office Products, Louisiana owned, locally staffed, built on service,
- 31:54Speaker 3: gcop dot dot.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Com, Tigers turn Talkers.
- 32:07Speaker 1: This is off the bench, all.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Right, welcome back here, So off the bench Thursday morning.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Hey Chris, it's hardly a third segment, dude, I know,
- 32:22Speaker 3: seven thirty nine, the best day of my life. Kids
- 32:25Speaker 3: are in carpool. I'm just listening to you. Kids are listening. Yeah,
- 32:28Speaker 3: so before eight am we keep it clean.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Oh okay, and then an eighth run game time.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Yeah, sure absolutely, but that is ah, you know, that's
- 32:39Speaker 3: kind of the way it goes here. So before you
- 32:40Speaker 3: slip up, I know you got a potty mouth.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Yeah, So do you think that thirty nine minutes into
- 32:45Speaker 4: the show was the best time to tell me that?
- 32:47Speaker 4: Or maybe before we started doing the show on live.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Probably probably should have said it a little bit before.
- 32:53Speaker 3: But we haven't say anything bad yet, have we. You
- 32:55Speaker 3: know that, But that's not me. I have to like
- 32:57Speaker 3: kind of lead this show today. And there's a lot
- 32:59Speaker 3: happening and a diagnosed squirrels here. Yeah, and I think
- 33:03Speaker 3: you do. You dabble as well in the squirrels in
- 33:05Speaker 3: ADHD like badly, badly, and so like they're okay. So
- 33:09Speaker 3: we're in a situation right now where we got of course,
- 33:11Speaker 3: we're at the LSU parade grounds and there's like, no,
- 33:14Speaker 3: there's huge there's no parades. There's huge trees, big live oaks,
- 33:18Speaker 3: and there's literals literally squirrels everywhere, Like there's a squirrel
- 33:21Speaker 3: right there. There's two chasing up this tree a second ago,
- 33:24Speaker 3: so you're going to see it for real. We are
- 33:26Speaker 3: squirrel seers, so we might see a couple today.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Well, let me also, I don't want you to speak
- 33:31Speaker 4: for me on that after hearing you describe yourself, because
- 33:34Speaker 4: when you said that, I thought you meant metaphorically, and
- 33:36Speaker 4: then you actually pointed out all of the squirrels that
- 33:38Speaker 4: were like on your six like in duty. And now
- 33:41Speaker 4: now I'm worried that you're like way too into squirrels,
- 33:42Speaker 4: like a big squirrel guy, Matt Flynn's squirrel guy.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Known squirrel guy. Well, it is how I kind of
- 33:49Speaker 3: it is kind of how you know, we we do
- 33:53Speaker 3: describe it's a medical disease ADHD. Yeah, yeah, it's diagnosed,
- 33:58Speaker 3: it is, and we call it just squirrelsy in but
- 34:01Speaker 3: now today it's it's kind of a literal thing.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm at Flendy's my top five squirrels for twenty
- 34:07Speaker 4: twenty six.
- 34:10Speaker 3: This is wrong with you, it's the AD. I actually
- 34:13Speaker 3: do kind of feel like I'll say that quite a
- 34:14Speaker 3: bit today. But to remind everybody, we are at the
- 34:17Speaker 3: LSU Parade grounds. We are on team Kate Today, Kate Target.
- 34:20Speaker 3: We are asking people all day long, all shows, if
- 34:24Speaker 3: you're just joining the show, our show, Off the Bench,
- 34:26Speaker 3: the Hunt Palmer Show or HPS shows like how Cassie
- 34:30Speaker 3: likes to refer to it and then Matt moscona show
- 34:32Speaker 3: will be brought to you right here from the Parade
- 34:34Speaker 3: grounds and we are trying to encourage people to come
- 34:38Speaker 3: and get swabbed Kate Target Team Kate. They are looking
- 34:42Speaker 3: for a bone marrow match. It is a little just
- 34:45Speaker 3: a simple little cheek swab and to save a life.
- 34:49Speaker 3: She has diagnosed this past fall with a rare form
- 34:52Speaker 3: of cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant and it's
- 34:57Speaker 3: very rare thing to find, but it's for a great call,
- 34:59Speaker 3: so you can go check it out. You can actually
- 35:01Speaker 3: go to let's see my dot NMDP dot org Slash
- 35:07Speaker 3: Team Kate and you can complete a registration right there,
- 35:10Speaker 3: and if you can't make it in to the paradegrounds,
- 35:12Speaker 3: if you're out of town, whatever, you can go there
- 35:14Speaker 3: and sign up and they'll actually send you a cheek
- 35:18Speaker 3: swab Kid. So that is my dot n m DP
- 35:21Speaker 3: dot org forward Slash Team Kate. You can complete that
- 35:25Speaker 3: registration right.
- 35:26Speaker 4: There again, you guys might not know if you're a match,
- 35:29Speaker 4: So come on down, get swabbed, get swabbed up.
- 35:33Speaker 3: That's right, and it's it's for a fantastic save a life.
- 35:36Speaker 3: She's eleven years old, got diagnosed with this rare form
- 35:39Speaker 3: and uh and it's kind of a race against the
- 35:41Speaker 3: clock as well. And they've done this at I think
- 35:43Speaker 3: two or three universities already and no matches, Like thousands
- 35:46Speaker 3: of cheek swabs already with no match, so it is
- 35:48Speaker 3: a how cool would it be at LSU we can
- 35:52Speaker 3: find that match today for her and save a life,
- 35:55Speaker 3: So it'll be fantastic. All right. NFL Draft is tonight
- 36:00Speaker 3: and I'm excited. I'm fired up. I'll tell you what.
- 36:04Speaker 3: My eleven year old hockey is so excited. He's been
- 36:06Speaker 3: talking about this for like two or the draft. Yeah,
- 36:09Speaker 3: he excited for the draft, which is you know, good
- 36:12Speaker 3: for him, man, he's a football guy. He is ready
- 36:14Speaker 3: to roll. He has looked to see Fernando Mendoza.
- 36:20Speaker 4: So hold on, I told you I this off off air,
- 36:24Speaker 4: and we're gonna talk about at some point when the
- 36:26Speaker 4: sun goes down.
- 36:28Speaker 3: But there is to keep blocked that sun.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Can you stand up a little bit, and I need
- 36:33Speaker 4: if you don't like So there's like bet online has
- 36:37Speaker 4: like prop bets for the first round that have nothing
- 36:40Speaker 4: to do with like actual football. Okay, so you can
- 36:42Speaker 4: bet on how many times he is going to reference.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's I would love to get into some of
- 36:46Speaker 3: those fun prop bets. Yeah, yeah, do you want to
- 36:48Speaker 3: do it later? Yeah? Probably? Shoot, maybe, Yeah, we can
- 36:52Speaker 3: give me one.
- 36:52Speaker 4: You got something you can bet on who's gonna hug first?
- 36:55Speaker 3: Obviously, right, and then because he's not there, he's on
- 36:59Speaker 3: the green at home.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Yeah, here's the one I think that everyone should hammer
- 37:04Speaker 4: money on, just flat out. And I don't want to
- 37:05Speaker 4: tell you how to spend your money unless it's in
- 37:07Speaker 4: time shares, because then that is also a very good investment.
- 37:10Speaker 3: So here's the thing. If you have, if so, try
- 37:14Speaker 3: getting out of it. Bud special attorneys for that.
- 37:18Speaker 4: That's how I've met my fiance. We've been in a
- 37:21Speaker 4: time share together for seventeen years.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Clearly. Okay, So here's the deal.
- 37:25Speaker 4: If you go to bed online or I think they
- 37:27Speaker 4: have it on the OtherSide, soup, but bet on specifically,
- 37:29Speaker 4: you can bet on over under how many dogs will
- 37:31Speaker 4: be seen in the broadcasts, and I want you to
- 37:33Speaker 4: hear me out on the lore of this bed because
- 37:36Speaker 4: they started this in the COVID year when everyone's like
- 37:37Speaker 4: zooming in and it was like, how many cats are
- 37:40Speaker 4: me on? The over under was at point five? Half
- 37:42Speaker 4: a cat, that's all we're talking about. Tristan Worf's had
- 37:45Speaker 4: three cats in his one little zoom thing. So we're
- 37:48Speaker 4: asking them how many dogs on the broadcast? One and
- 37:50Speaker 4: a half dogs on the broadcast is all we need.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Kirk Kurbstreet's going to be there. That guy doesn't go
- 37:54Speaker 4: to the bathroom without his dog, So that's one dog.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Can you tell me there's not a stray dog running
- 37:58Speaker 4: around Pittsburgh, let alone in someone's home.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Is Mendoza? Is this party at his house? Yeah? Okay,
- 38:05Speaker 3: he feels like a dog herb Street. Is he part
- 38:07Speaker 3: of the draft coverage?
- 38:08Speaker 4: Yeah, he's been posting about it with pictures of his dog.
- 38:11Speaker 3: Okay, So it's just a cover. So like once they
- 38:12Speaker 3: come back from break to when they go away from
- 38:15Speaker 3: breaks and they're gonna have some like b roll cutaways
- 38:18Speaker 3: from Pittsburgh area four.
- 38:20Speaker 4: And a half hours. I need I need one dog
- 38:22Speaker 4: that's not for curb sheets.
- 38:23Speaker 3: That's it.
- 38:23Speaker 4: It's already built in kind of a cheat code, because
- 38:26Speaker 4: it's like you set the line up on the half.
- 38:27Speaker 3: And it's we already have and it'll probably be about
- 38:29Speaker 3: three hours, probably, yeah, three or four, three and a
- 38:33Speaker 3: half you're right here, three and a half. So we
- 38:34Speaker 3: got three and a half hours to find an extra dog. Yeah,
- 38:37Speaker 3: at least a half one at least and you got
- 38:42Speaker 3: to see all four paws. Do you think if you
- 38:45Speaker 3: catch two paws.
- 38:48Speaker 4: That is like the actual half you get a push.
- 38:51Speaker 4: That's the worst, worst beat ever. We're gonna be on
- 38:55Speaker 4: SVP bad beats. That dog had one leg, so we
- 38:59Speaker 4: did not cover.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Oh yes, that's what the show. It's gonna be a
- 39:05Speaker 3: lot of that this morning. You know again, literal squirrels everywhere,
- 39:14Speaker 3: so we'll see. But you know what, you know who
- 39:16Speaker 3: wins every time? It's Tommy's Windows Doors Insiding. Go Tommy's
- 39:19Speaker 3: dot com, Go to go Tommy's dot com, ge Aux
- 39:22Speaker 3: Tommy's dot com and that is Tommy with a Y.
- 39:24Speaker 3: You can check them out for the best windows doors
- 39:26Speaker 3: siding around Marl. This is when you would say, yo, Tommy,
- 39:29Speaker 3: really last o Tommy exactly, thank you. That's pretty good,
- 39:32Speaker 3: nice little accent you threw in there with it. They
- 39:35Speaker 3: are the best in the business. You can go check
- 39:36Speaker 3: them out. And why are they the best? It's not
- 39:38Speaker 3: just me saying it. It's definitely not just Marler saying it.
- 39:41Speaker 3: It's it's Angie Andy Super Service Award winner for the
- 39:44Speaker 3: last uh, I don't even know. I can't even count,
- 39:46Speaker 3: since twenty sixteen, every single year since twenty sixteen. They
- 39:50Speaker 3: are the best lifetime warranties on anything they touch and install.
- 39:54Speaker 3: So if you've got a project, happen to make sure
- 39:55Speaker 3: you got Tommy and his team to give you a price,
- 39:58Speaker 3: talk about the project and see why they are the
- 40:00Speaker 3: that's going to go. Tommy is a dot com Tommy,
- 40:03Speaker 3: you always do it once, dude, dang it Tommy two times,
- 40:08Speaker 3: Tommy two times? All right? Cast seven fun, Yes she is.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I wanted to bring up we were just talking about
- 40:16Speaker 3: the draft odds for the Saints picking. Yeah, and we've
- 40:20Speaker 3: told you the top four, but I wanted to kind
- 40:23Speaker 3: of kind of close out that list before we go
- 40:25Speaker 3: to break here, So we told you the top four.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Jordan Tyson at plus two twenty five months or to
- 40:28Speaker 3: Land at plus four fifty Carnal Tap plus five hundred,
- 40:31Speaker 3: Ruben Bate Junior plus six hundred. Then we get the
- 40:34Speaker 3: safety Caleb Downs, who's plus one thousand. That's wild to me,
- 40:37Speaker 3: tight end Kenyon Sadik at plus twelve hundred, which I
- 40:40Speaker 3: definitely don't see them going tight end at eight, defensive
- 40:43Speaker 3: back Jermad McCoy plus four tea mkay Lemon at plus
- 40:47Speaker 3: sixteen hundred. Then it kind of gets Sunny Styles at
- 40:50Speaker 3: plus eighteen hundred.
- 40:51Speaker 4: I think that this will certainly be a be there.
- 40:53Speaker 3: He will probably not be there. If he is, they
- 40:56Speaker 3: will take him, yea. If any if anything else, I
- 40:58Speaker 3: think that the Cowboys move up in front of him
- 41:01Speaker 3: in front of the Saints to take him. I don't
- 41:03Speaker 3: know if he goes. He's one of those guys that
- 41:04Speaker 3: wouldn't be shocked if he goes top five, but also
- 41:07Speaker 3: wouldn't be shocked if he goes like six or seven.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Right there now of this list, and I know we
- 41:13Speaker 3: got some like really high odds. You got to hear
- 41:15Speaker 3: my love, David Bailey, not like who outside the top
- 41:20Speaker 3: four here would you predict? If you have to live
- 41:23Speaker 3: you're trying to make a quick buck. Yeah, that ten
- 41:25Speaker 3: from value.
- 41:27Speaker 4: Yeah, so this sounds lame because it's it's the two
- 41:29Speaker 4: people that are right below those names on the graphic.
- 41:31Speaker 4: But I think, also, well, it's not mean, it's not
- 41:33Speaker 4: that's like, it's still great value. You tell what Caleb
- 41:35Speaker 4: Downs at a plus one thousand and then sunny Style
- 41:37Speaker 4: or styles Kenn Sadek get plus twelve hundred.
- 41:40Speaker 3: I'm with you.
- 41:40Speaker 4: I don't think they will go tight end at eight.
- 41:43Speaker 4: But here's the other thing too. When you have like
- 41:47Speaker 4: people in the draft love freaks, right, we all we
- 41:51Speaker 4: all do, and so I think, okay, so the the
- 41:58Speaker 4: phrasing is anyway, So Kenn Sadik is the guy that's
- 42:01Speaker 4: if absolute freak.
- 42:01Speaker 3: He went to the combine.
- 42:02Speaker 4: He had one of the best combines ever for a
- 42:04Speaker 4: tight end, Like I think it was the best one
- 42:05Speaker 4: in twenty something plus years. When they come from Maryland
- 42:08Speaker 4: or NC State or whatever, Caleb Downs and him, I
- 42:10Speaker 4: think if they if Caleb Downs is there and maybe
- 42:14Speaker 4: you like somehow Tyson or Tate are gone, I don't
- 42:18Speaker 4: know how you necessarily pass up on a guy like
- 42:19Speaker 4: Caleb Downes. I think that that is a plug and
- 42:22Speaker 4: play eight to ten years start of the NFL, I mean.
- 42:25Speaker 4: When he was at Dana as a freshman, Saban said
- 42:27Speaker 4: he was one of the smartest players he'd ever coached.
- 42:29Speaker 4: He's only there for one year, right out of high
- 42:30Speaker 4: school Mill Creek over there in in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
- 42:35Speaker 4: But I like Sadik Man. He's a freak of nature.
- 42:37Speaker 4: And you also lost a couple of pieces.
- 42:38Speaker 3: At tight end. Yeah, yeah, this this first round is
- 42:41Speaker 3: gonna be real top heavy that. Yeah, the top ten
- 42:43Speaker 3: picks are going to be pretty much, you know, as
- 42:45Speaker 3: close as you can get to can't miss guys. But
- 42:47Speaker 3: then after that it's gonna get a little We're going
- 42:49Speaker 3: to go to break right now, and when we come back,
- 42:51Speaker 3: we have a little short segment, but we're going to
- 42:53Speaker 3: close out our number one right here from the LSU Parade.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Grounds off the bench.
- 42:59Speaker 3: All right, I can feel that sign that's getting my
- 43:02Speaker 3: real hot right now. If it's it's about to start
- 43:04Speaker 3: getting real hot here in Louisiana, especially down here at
- 43:07Speaker 3: South Louisiana. So make sure you get your air conditions checked,
- 43:11Speaker 3: make sure you got them up and running, and make
- 43:13Speaker 3: sure you're working with the best air conditioned company around
- 43:15Speaker 3: that is Emerson Heating. And air. So when that go
- 43:18Speaker 3: when that air condition does go out, and it's the
- 43:20Speaker 3: middle of the summer, it's an absolute like emergency. That's
- 43:23Speaker 3: why you go to emsair dot net for Emerson Heating
- 43:26Speaker 3: and Air. And if another if like you, if you
- 43:28Speaker 3: get a check in another AC company tells you, hey,
- 43:30Speaker 3: you need a whole system change. You got to change everything. Yeah, well,
- 43:34Speaker 3: if you went to the doctor, you get a second opinion,
- 43:35Speaker 3: get a second opinion because it's it's expensive, it's it's
- 43:38Speaker 3: pricey to change out those aces. Emerson will come and
- 43:41Speaker 3: give you a free estimate of free quote and a
- 43:43Speaker 3: free second opinion. And mentioned you heard about us on
- 43:46Speaker 3: OTB and you get that in that second opinion will
- 43:49Speaker 3: be free. And also if you need a little spring maintenance,
- 43:53Speaker 3: little spring service OTB eighty nine dollars special regular one
- 43:56Speaker 3: hundred and thirty dollars, but for OTB listeners eighty nine
- 43:58Speaker 3: dollars to go get that AC check. That's EMS air
- 44:01Speaker 3: dot net, Emerson Heating in Air.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Locked in on LSU Football twenty four to seven. You're
- 44:21Speaker 2: listening to off the Bench.
- 44:25Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here to off the Bench. We
- 44:27Speaker 3: are closing out our number one here on a Thursday
- 44:31Speaker 3: morning live from the LSU Parade grounds, and surprise, surprise,
- 44:35Speaker 3: we ran late and we got a short segment. Marlar,
- 44:39Speaker 3: it's your fault. We've actually this is the first time
- 44:41Speaker 3: on this show. What you have to say, that's the
- 44:44Speaker 3: one thing you can't do.
- 44:46Speaker 4: I didn't say it, so we're good.
- 44:50Speaker 3: You cannot wow, Wow, Chris, Marlan, Ladies and gentlemen, all right,
- 44:56Speaker 3: all right, all right, man, that was Hey, let me
- 44:59Speaker 3: tell you that was close. I don't think it was
