A Metro bus driver, Briona Akins, pulled off a heroic act on her second day behind the wheel—stopping her route to save a 14-year-old boy shot in the head. With CPR training and calm under pressure, she began chest compressions while calling 911, even as she worried about being too rough on the teen’s small frame.
