- 0:00What a test match, what an atmosphere.
- 0:02First off, you must have loved a lot of ball in play, a lot of phases.
- 0:07I think the difference is you have a very, very good, mature side that know how to win.
- 0:12We've won this series now yesterday, JK.
- 0:15You have not won the series, Victor.
- 0:17You can't help say that.
- 0:18I'm really feeling sorry for Dake.
- 0:20His voice was gone yesterday in the build-up.
- 0:23I heard he couldn't speak.
- 0:24He was like, now he's crying.
- 0:28That's enough, Ricardo.
- 0:29I can't take Victor anymore.
- 0:30Let's go.
- 0:36Welcome to Victor's favorite edition of the hand-to-hand couriers rugby rivals.
- 0:43Look, I mean, it's exciting to grow on you, Daka.
- 0:51I would just say this, Victor, that the best team won yesterday.
- 0:56I thought the South African team was outstanding when they needed to be.
- 1:01I think, you know, we had about 15 minutes in the second half where they just dominated us.
- 1:08So, you know, I think...
- 1:10Hats off to the South African team, man.
- 1:12They were pretty good yesterday.
- 1:13I mean, I'm really proud that the boys, you know, stayed close.
- 1:18And I think the difference is you have a very, very good mature side that know how to win.
- 1:23Yeah, I must say, what a test, Max.
- 1:26I mean, that first half, you must have loved a lot of ball in play, a lot of phases.
- 1:31Really lose both teams having a go at it.
- 1:35I thought South Africa actually stood loose in that first half.
- 1:40But then, like you said, I think in that second half, you could just see this is a very experienced team that played together for nine years.
- 1:49Lassie also said it in that press conference.
- 1:52I mean, they just had another gear.
- 1:55And that just came through.
- 1:56I think the experience playing together for a long time
- 2:01There was just an extra gear for them to go to where I think that one or two big injuries for the All Blacks with Ardy getting injured really played a big role as well.
- 2:11But again, what a test match.
- 2:13What an atmosphere.
- 2:16I think everyone was talking about this great rivalry to lift up to all expectations.
- 2:23So, JK, who was your – what was your Ram hand-to-hand couriers?
- 2:29Who delivered under pressure for you in that test match?
- 2:33Well, I think once again I know he was the same, you know, as last week.
- 2:38But my hand-to-hand guy yesterday was probably Artie before he went off.
- 2:42I mean, two tries.
- 2:44I don't know if I can say that because he went off.
- 2:46But two tries, was really leading.
- 2:48Yeah.
- 2:50You know, when he went off, it was very interesting.
- 2:51We've got a really young side.
- 2:52And I turned to Fitzy, who was next to him, and I said, who's going to be captain?
- 2:57You know?
- 2:58And I know Luke took over, but yeah, I thought he was a real standout for me.
- 3:05So he would be my guy.
- 3:07For you, Victor, who delivered under pressure?
- 3:10Oh, Ram, Hentai, and Piriya, he was a man of the match as well.
- 3:14Also, Ethan Uka just stood up.
- 3:16I mean, he's a young man.
- 3:19really played well, his work rate was unbelievable, his ability under the high ball, winning that back, it's just great.
- 3:28So I think Ethan Uka was definitely my Ram Hentuan career and he keep on delivering.
- 3:36I thought Malcolm Mask was outstanding yesterday as well, Victor, eh?
- 3:40Like I thought he was pretty special yesterday.
- 3:44I think he's special every week.
- 3:48I think in Newlands he could have been the man of the match as well.
- 3:51I actually dedicated it and it was probably between him, Yipin and Ceslin.
- 3:58But Malcolm is just an outstanding player.
- 4:00What he's done for South Africa, he just comes out there, puts his body on the line.
- 4:06He leads that scrum.
- 4:08He gets over the ball, carries.
- 4:10So, no, he's just unbelievable.
- 4:12And then, Sam, we always talk about the bomb squad, and everyone thinks the bomb squad is just the forwards.
- 4:18But I thought a guy like Morde van der Berg, young nine, came up.
- 4:23I think he made eight or nine tackles.
- 4:25And that one movement, he made three tackles in a row.
- 4:28His kicking game was also just on the spot.
- 4:31And I think he speeded up the game a little bit.
- 4:34And you get the ball in the front foot and Marnie Leboeck, because he had 10, I think that attack also looked much better.
- 4:41I'm a little concerned because you're both being very, very nice to each other.
- 4:46I'm really feeling sorry for Joke.
- 4:47His voice was gone yesterday in the build-up.
- 4:50I heard he couldn't speak.
- 4:52He's like, now he's crying.
- 4:55So I'm feeling for the man.
- 5:04It's almost like a millie.
- 5:09I think it means go piss in the woods, doesn't it?
- 5:11No.
- 5:14So, it's almost.
- 5:18Yeah, look, I think, Ricardo, I think, Ricardo, one of the things that...
- 5:23You know, it's no use being angry with each other when we've got the base of respect.
- 5:28And I think this whole series has been about, you can't go away from yesterday actually complaining about anything.
- 5:35I thought the ref was good.
- 5:37I thought both teams gave it everything.
- 5:39You know, for me, there was 15 minutes in the second half after Will Jordan scored where the experience and the knowledge of the Springbok team being under pressure for the last nine years as one of the world's best teams just knew what to do.
- 5:53And I think this young team that will come away from the All Blacks, they will go, we didn't quite nail that.
- 6:04And so the best team won yesterday.
- 6:06So I don't have anything to say.
- 6:08And if the ref did something or if the players did something, and that's just the truth of it, the best team won yesterday.
- 6:16And Jake, are you happy that you can say we won this series 2-1 in South Africa and it's just an exhibition game in America now?
- 6:23No, that's a ridiculous thing to say.
- 6:25We're just trying to be nice to each other.
- 6:28And then you come out with that.
- 6:30One in South Africa.
- 6:31Two-one to South Africa.
- 6:32No, no, no, no.
- 6:33We can go in for the World Cup.
- 6:35We'll play some of our other players.
- 6:38Give everyone an opportunity.
- 6:39No, you won't.
- 6:40You will not.
- 6:41You will not.
- 6:42You will not.
- 6:45It is two-one in a series of four, mate.
- 6:48But one in South Africa is one by South Africa.
- 6:52And if it's a drawn series, you're going to have to wear an all-black jersey then.
- 6:55It's an exhibition game.
- 6:58It's not an exhibition game.
- 7:00That's ridiculous.
- 7:01You can't say that, Victor.
- 7:03I'll just tell you what.
- 7:04I'll wear it, but you won't beat us.
- 7:07I think that's gone.
- 7:08You had your chance now.
- 7:10I do think both teams will have a lot of changes.
- 7:14South Africa for sure.
- 7:15I think you'll probably see 8 to 10 changes in the South African team.
- 7:20Well, we've got some force changes.
- 7:21So Artie's out, dislocated shoulder.
- 7:25Quintal Pye's out with an MCL.
- 7:28And I think Luke Jacobson's done a tendon in his elbow.
- 7:32So we'll be forced to make some change.
- 7:38I think there'll be five or six changes at least.
- 7:43Victor, you're a different person when you've got a smile on your face because you're a little bit grumpy after that first test.
- 7:51You must have enjoyed the referee giving out scrum penalties because that's what you love.
- 7:57Yeah, I mean that's something, I mean in our pre-build-up show I'm in technical though and I just had a nice pick from above who's scrumming straight and who's not scrumming straight and that's South Africa's definitely scrumming straight and yeah,
- 8:12Yeah, I think last week the All Blacks got away with a few scrums where we should have gotten the penalty that they didn't give to us.
- 8:20This week, I mean, the powerful scrum dominated and they need to get.
- 8:24What I didn't understand is if you give a penalty try, normally there should be a yellow card.
- 8:29Why wasn't there a yellow card with a penalty try just before halftime?
- 8:33I actually think Jeffrey explained that.
- 8:35He sort of said there wasn't one particular player that you could pinpoint, that it was just the scrum going backwards.
- 8:41Okay.
- 8:42I still think it's ridiculous anyway.
- 8:43Because I don't like, you know, thoughts, so it's good.
- 8:46Exactly.
- 8:47I would like to challenge that, though, because I thought one of the scrums yesterday, and if you're completely honest, Victor, and you do look at the scrums and analyse it like you do, I did think there was one scrum that we got penalised and that you guys brought in on the hooker.
- 9:01But the hooker must be able to take it.
- 9:03That's what's... All the power goes through the hooker.
- 9:06That's how it works.
- 9:07It's how scrum works.
- 9:08Yeah, but you're supposed to stay straight.
- 9:10Take our tight end into a scrum discussion.
- 9:11If the tight end goes straight into, then you will go straight.
- 9:15I'm just saying that Victor said that last week the All Blacks were not hitting straight.
- 9:20I say yesterday.
- 9:21I'm pretty sure we got penalised when actually the South African tight end was not straight.
- 9:26But anyway, what would I know, Victor?
- 9:28Let's talk about something you know.
- 9:29Let's talk about something you know, Jocko.
- 9:32Did you think Leroy Carter was maybe out of depth yesterday?
- 9:38Wouldn't it have been better with Rico or someone on the wing?
- 9:42I mean, two tackles, two tries?
- 9:45Yeah, look, I really like Leroy.
- 9:48And, you know, I've been in a similar situation before where, you know, if you miss a tackle and you're a lock, no one really notices.
- 9:58because you're in the middle of the field and no one really notices.
- 10:00When you miss a couple of tackles like that, you feel like digging a hole.
- 10:04I think Leroy will learn from that.
- 10:06I think what he did was he rushed.
- 10:10So when you're in a situation like that and your opposition's coming at you, if you go too fast at him, he's got all the options.
- 10:18And I think Creel, what he does with his fend is he never puts his fend out.
- 10:22He keeps it here.
- 10:23And then when you hit it, he uses it.
- 10:25So from a technical point of view, that's one of the hardest guys to tackle.
- 10:30But if Leroy slowed a wee bit and then let him do his stuff, it might have been a bit better.
- 10:35I just think he rushed.
- 10:36You know, this kid, the try that we scored...
- 10:41that Will Jordan scored was a lot to do with Leroy.
- 10:43So I think Leroy is a quality player, but he made a couple of defensive errors yesterday that really cost us.
- 10:51I think when you look at the game, two missed tackles, a couple of scrums, and that maul, that amazing maul, we've just got to get way better in those tight situations.
- 11:01So, you know, he'll learn from it, mate.
- 11:04I mean, I feel sorry for him.
- 11:06I know how hard it is.
- 11:06He's a quality player.
- 11:10One thing I found interesting in the game was that normally in a test match, the winning team, the 10, will really stamp his mark on the game.
- 11:21But none of the 10s really stood out in the game, did they?
- 11:27Of the three 10s on display, no one really took control of the game.
- 11:33Yeah, I mean, I think when you look at the All Blacks, I think Ruben has been really steady.
- 11:40I think we left a lot of points out there.
- 11:41He'll be disappointed in that.
- 11:43I think we left two conversions and a penalty out there.
- 11:47So that's seven points that you can't leave out there.
- 11:50So I think Ruben will be disappointed that he didn't nail that.
- 11:53There's some pressure on there.
- 11:55I do think that in the past we've had...
- 11:57You know, first flyers that in critical times will step up.
- 12:01I do think, though, that with the current South African side, you know, the forward pack is the dominant part of the game, and they step up, right?
- 12:11So if you're not really clean, and, you know, I think Dave Renner said after the game, you give away a penalty on the 10-yard mark.
- 12:19They're going to kick to the corner and their mall is incredibly devastating.
- 12:24So I think Ruben will be disappointed he didn't kick those goals.
- 12:27I think there'll be pressure on him because he's got Richie Mwanga and Bowden Barrett that have a whole lot of experience.
- 12:34So he'll be under pressure to get selected this week because if you're a first five, you have to step up in those situations.
- 12:40What did you think of the South African 10s, Victor?
- 12:42It's a pretty...
- 12:44I mean, all the games, there was injuries in the backs and we had to shift it around.
- 12:48So I think we've got three teams that's quite different.
- 12:54I think at Newlands, when you were under pressure, we wanted to go back to Andre Pollard that can really control the game, keep the forwards on the front foot, play a conservative type of game where you manage it by your back-of-fords and your 9-10 with a kicking game.
- 13:12I think he's got the X-Factor.
- 13:14I think he's going through that second year syndrome when the first year everything just worked and it was easy, but now he had to work for it.
- 13:22I thought in the second half yesterday, he really stepped up.
- 13:25Although he was on 15, those kicks he had to make.
- 13:29And just again, I mean, his physicality on the fence, unbelievable.
- 13:34And then in Marnie, we've got a 10 that if you want to open it up, I think he's probably the best of it.
- 13:40All three.
- 13:41He loves to call for the ball.
- 13:43He loves to get with the ball.
- 13:45on a deck.
- 13:46And I mean, we scored both of our trials with him, giving those long passes to the outside and Damien firstly, and then Jesse beating the guy on the outside.
- 13:55So, yeah, we still don't know who's the guy that will take that 10 jersey.
- 14:00I still think it will probably be Sasha.
- 14:03He just needs to work through this second year syndrome.
- 14:06And that always happens because I think the expectations are so high for him just to go out there and do magic where,
- 14:14think you'll need to learn now how to build it just to build pressure.
- 14:17And when the opportunity comes, then you take it because he's got all the skills for that.
- 14:22Yeah, I mean, getting back to that, Ricardo, I think the most important thing for the All Blacks is that we, you know, I think Ruben's been really steady.
- 14:30He's a young man.
- 14:31You know, to play in those test matches and play well has been a real positive.
- 14:37I mean, I think for us,
- 14:39You know, what do you do moving forward?
- 14:41Richie's come back, he's been in the squad, do you throw him out there?
- 14:45Or do you continue to give Ruben confidence?
- 14:49So I think that's a really interesting selection for this week.
- 14:53What will they do?
- 14:55You know, I think that obviously with Quinn Tupaya being injured, Rico will come straight back into that.
- 15:01into that starting position.
- 15:04I thought they might have put him on the bench last week to come on late.
- 15:07So, yeah, I'm with Victor.
- 15:09I think there'll be...
- 15:11I think there'll be... Well, I'm not actually...
- 15:13I don't actually agree with Victor because this is not a dead rubber this week.
- 15:17This is a really important game.
- 15:19But I think the changes will be a little bit...
- 15:20It's a bit of a dead rubber exhibition game.
- 15:21...but also a little bit tactical.
- 15:23So I wouldn't be surprised if we see Richie out there at 10.
- 15:26It's not a dead rubber, Victor.
- 15:27I don't like it when you smile like that.
- 15:28It's not a dead rubber exhibition game.
- 15:32Or the World Cup.
- 15:33It's not.
- 15:35Right, now let's have a look at the clip drift moment of the game.
- 15:38Victor, can you do the clip drift moment without choosing a scrum?
- 15:43Of course I can.
- 15:47Clip drift moment of the game, a 20-meter mole scoring under the poles.
- 15:53There's just nothing more beautiful like that.
- 15:57Like a symphony of clubs.
- 15:59Orchestra going mad, everyone working together, forwards working hard, working out the All Blacks on the side, coming through again, Malcolm Marks holding it, scoring under the pulse.
- 16:11There's just nothing prettier than that in Iraq again.
- 16:14That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, Victor.
- 16:18How can you get any sort of like, how can you be so animated about a mall?
- 16:24My Clippy's moment was the try-by.
- 16:27Did you hear this stadium yesterday?
- 16:29Scrum.
- 16:30Scrum.
- 16:31Scrum.
- 16:32How are we going to go?
- 16:33No.
- 16:35No.
- 16:36Of course, we do it from a long way out.
- 16:40Beautiful.
- 16:41I mean, watching that mall is a bit like watching you and Brendan dance, mate.
- 16:46That's like...
- 16:50There's some rhythm there.
- 16:51No.
- 16:53No, leave the dancing.
- 16:54Into we too.
- 16:55That's what we do.
- 16:58My clip is...
- 16:59I must say Brady pulled me into it.
- 17:00I'm not a dancer.
- 17:04My clip is...
- 17:06My Clippy's moment was probably the try by Will Jordan.
- 17:10You know, I'm exactly the opposite to Victor.
- 17:13I just love when there's back play.
- 17:15I think the set-up… No, no, no.
- 17:19We've won the series now yesterday, JK.
- 17:21You haven't won the series.
- 17:22Aren't you going to get one Springbok Clip-Riff moment?
- 17:25You have not.
- 17:26We won the series in South Africa yesterday.
- 17:28You have not won the series, Victor.
- 17:29You cannot say that.
- 17:32If you win 3-1, you've won the series.
- 17:34Okay.
- 17:35So my Clippies moment was the Will Chauden dry.
- 17:40I just love seeing 15 guys getting involved.
- 17:45Victor loves seeing all his mates hugging each other and rolling and twisting and they call that a maul.
- 17:53but I just love seeing outside backs play the game.
- 17:56I love seeing a 15 man game, so there you go.
- 17:59It's not, I was just, I was being nice all day, Victor.
- 18:03Like, I was showing a lot of respect to you, even though, you know, you keep giving me shit yesterday on messages.
- 18:14I'm very humble.
- 18:15So why are you winding me up?
- 18:17Why, I'm humble.
- 18:18Why are you winding me up saying that the series is over?
- 18:22Cause it's not.
- 18:23We've won it in South Africa.
- 18:25Two won in South Africa.
- 18:27Well, it's always a problem when one of the hosts is called Victor.
- 18:33But I think the way that we know whether the series has been decided, have you got the trophy in your headquarters?
- 18:43Has the trophy been awarded yet, Victor?
- 18:44Victor?
- 18:46No, it's about the history.
- 18:48Trophies, it's about the history.
- 18:50The All Blacks has only won once in South Africa.
- 18:53That record is still in place.
- 18:56One more for the boxed, winning a series in South Africa.
- 18:59Now we're going for the exhibition match.
- 19:02Want to win that as well and take the trophy as well.
- 19:08JK, I don't want to see you wearing it, surely, ever again.
- 19:12I think we have half of it already.
- 19:13I think we have half of it already.
- 19:14He's still playing for it now.
- 19:17So annoying.
- 19:17You're so annoying, Victor.
- 19:19You're so annoying.
- 19:21I thought you were annoying, Riccardo, but you're actually quite good.
- 19:23No, Victor, you are annoying.
- 19:25I actually, I was watching the Supersport coverage, and just as I was relaxing, Victor's big smiling face kept popping up all the time, talking about scrums.
- 19:36Every time they said to him, what part of the game are you going to look for?
- 19:39Let's focus on the scrums, you know?
- 19:42Well, you got that chant going in the stadium, mate.
- 19:45There's 85,000 savants going, scrum, scrum, scrum.
- 19:49That's what I say.
- 19:50Scrum, scrum.
- 19:53Awesome.
- 19:53I think that we need to get the drum out to get rhythm in that.
- 19:58There was a couple of times, though.
- 19:59There was a couple of times in the first half where I think you guys slowed the game down, which really annoyed me.
- 20:05When Sia went down for about five minutes, I thought you guys were really on the ropes.
- 20:09We need to keep...
- 20:11We need to keep the speed in the game, you know.
- 20:13Who ran out of gas in the second half?
- 20:15The Springbok or the All Black?
- 20:17What do you mean?
- 20:18We didn't run out of gas.
- 20:19We scored last.
- 20:20You did?
- 20:21We didn't run out of gas.
- 20:22We scored the last try.
- 20:23After the game was over.
- 20:24It's like after the series of one, everything, we just gave you something.
- 20:29So that you'd be positive for the exhibition game.
- 20:31Victor, the game is not over until the final.
- 20:34Was it too little, too late?
- 20:36I agree, but we didn't run out of gas, mate.
- 20:38We finished the strongest.
- 20:40Hey, while Victor's trying to work out that you can't win a four-test series 2-1, I just want to tell you about a competition that our good friends at Ram Hand and Couriers are running.
- 20:49If you sign up for new business...
- 20:52you could win an Isuzu X-Rider.
- 20:55It's an unbelievable vehicle.
- 20:57So it's there for you.
- 20:59All the details are on the website.
- 21:02So if you go to ram.co.za backslash competition, all the terms and conditions and how to win the Isuzu X-Rider are there.
- 21:14I think, JK, you need to go and rest your voice.
- 21:17I think South Africa's been too tough on you, and you're getting on.
- 21:22You need to go and put some lemon-honey drink and get in that Lazy Boy rocker and just relax.
- 21:29And Victor, can you stop annoying us so much, please?
- 21:33Yes.
- 21:36I'm looking forward to the exhibition match.
- 21:38Shut up.
- 21:38Then it will be series and exhibition match one.
- 21:41That will be fantastic.
- 21:43That's enough, Ricardo.
- 21:44I can't take Victor anymore.
- 21:45Let's go.
- 21:46The good thing is, the great thing about this relationship with Victor is I've got a stop button.
