- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, I'm Sally. I'm from Pelface Swiss, a little band
- 0:03Speaker 1: from Syrix, Switzerland, and we're coming back to the very
- 0:06Speaker 1: very large, fucking country of Australia in the beginning of
- 0:09Speaker 1: twenty seven and I'm so stoked about it because the
- 0:12Speaker 1: last hour that we've done has been fully sold out
- 0:15Speaker 1: and one of the best experiences of my life. So
- 0:18Speaker 1: I've got I've got high hopes, if I'm honest, I've
- 0:20Speaker 1: got high hopes that this is going to be, I
- 0:23Speaker 1: hope the best hour that we've done today. So yeah,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I'm very, very very excited to start up the year
- 0:29Speaker 1: in the beautiful country of Australia.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Andtaty man, thanks for joining me this evening.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Of course. Yeah, thank you so much for having me.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I'm stoked. I'm excited.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Well, let you, sir said made up to making your
- 0:39Speaker 3: Australian debut in early twenty twenty five. Papway Swiss are
- 0:43Speaker 3: coming back in early twenty twenty seven, kicking off in
- 0:45Speaker 3: third on January twenty seventh, before he an Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra,
- 0:49Speaker 3: Sydney and Brisbane and finishing in Campbell on Februy the seventh.
- 0:53Speaker 3: So we must have made a pretty good impression on
- 0:55Speaker 3: you the first time around.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Made to become a backstize than dude.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Honestly, I am sure you get to hear this a
- 1:01Speaker 1: lot from many bands, but Australia is one of the
- 1:04Speaker 1: best places to play music because it's It's the truth.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Australia is sick. The people are so I said this
- 1:11Speaker 1: so many times already. The people that go to shows
- 1:14Speaker 1: in Australia, they go to shows because they want to
- 1:17Speaker 1: experience fun. And in so many places on this planet,
- 1:21Speaker 1: people go to shows because they want to criticize things,
- 1:25Speaker 1: they want to find things that they don't like. They
- 1:27Speaker 1: go there as critics, and they don't go there like
- 1:30Speaker 1: open hearted, just like I paid money in order to
- 1:34Speaker 1: have a fun experience, you know. And in Australia, people
- 1:37Speaker 1: go to a show to have fun and not to
- 1:40Speaker 1: You don't have to prove, you don't have to like
- 1:43Speaker 1: talk them over to like have fun. They go there
- 1:45Speaker 1: and have fun, you know. So I love this so
- 1:48Speaker 1: much about Australia. So we're trying to come back as
- 1:51Speaker 1: much as we can because people they seem to like us,
- 1:55Speaker 1: They buy the tickets, They go fucking crazy at our shows,
- 1:58Speaker 1: and of course I would like to experience that as
- 2:00Speaker 1: much as I can, so I'm so thankful that we're
- 2:03Speaker 1: able to come back so soon again.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, right, And that headline run practically sold out
- 2:10Speaker 3: pretty much every single ticket nationwide. So but if next
- 2:13Speaker 3: door you step it up to massive iconic space, We've
- 2:15Speaker 3: go on the Forum in Melbourne and a Chivoli im Brisbane.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So how much textra pressures on you?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Mate?
- 2:20Speaker 2: You gotta tell the big ones.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Now, dude, I'm I'm fucking the presuice is there a
- 2:25Speaker 1: little bit? But also like I want them to sell
- 2:29Speaker 1: out because I know how fucking crazy the shows go,
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know, so I want them to be feeled and
- 2:34Speaker 1: all that. But hey, the tickets are on sale for
- 2:36Speaker 1: a couple of days now, and I got some reports
- 2:39Speaker 1: already how the tickets does are looking like, I'm like,
- 2:41Speaker 1: this is beyond every expectations. So honestly, I'm not too
- 2:45Speaker 1: scared that they want go. Well, I'm confident in my
- 2:49Speaker 1: people in Australia, you know, to fucking support us. So
- 2:52Speaker 1: the tickets are looking very good already, so I'm like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: fuck us. We now can focus on putting on the
- 2:59Speaker 1: best show that we can. You guys, really and don't
- 3:01Speaker 1: have to focus too much about we need to sell
- 3:04Speaker 1: more tickets and blah blah blah. You know, so this
- 3:08Speaker 1: is something I'm also obviously very happy about that the
- 3:11Speaker 1: tickets are looking good already.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Manash Hin my sit and I so heavy bands stick
- 3:16Speaker 3: pretty much to the major capitalis Brian.
- 3:18Speaker 2: But your reports tore up at the way house in Townsville.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Lot, what made you decry to take things up to
- 3:23Speaker 3: the crazy crazy final of Greenland?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Honestly, I love seeing places in countries that like places
- 3:31Speaker 1: that nobody goes, or like not many people go. Last
- 3:34Speaker 1: time we did Newcastle. This time we do Canberra and Townsville.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'm like, I know what to expect from Melbourne. I've
- 3:42Speaker 1: got high expectations in Melbourne. I've got high expectations in Brisbane.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I don't know what to expect from Townsville at all.
- 3:49Speaker 1: So I'm all, I'm all in for surprises. I love surprises.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So I'm like, I want to have one or two
- 3:53Speaker 1: cities where I'm like, I don't know what to expect.
- 3:56Speaker 1: We'll see. It's going to be exciting for all of us,
- 3:59Speaker 1: you know. And I like I like traveling, I like
- 4:03Speaker 1: seeing stuff. So this is a great opportunity. I don't
- 4:07Speaker 1: know a single person that can tell me, Hey, I've
- 4:11Speaker 1: been to Townsville, Australia and I did this and that.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I don't know a single person that knows about Townsville, Australia,
- 4:17Speaker 1: you know. And I'm like, fuck, yeah, I'm gonna go
- 4:19Speaker 1: there and I'm going to see how it's like, and
- 4:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna let you know how it was.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know, wat spoiler. I lived out there for about
- 4:25Speaker 2: thirty years. But you're in for a trade. You gotta
- 4:27Speaker 2: love it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: It's funny. It's funny that you live there. That's crazy.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Someone Now, I know one person that lived there, that's crazy.
- 4:40Speaker 1: What do you Where do you live now?
- 4:42Speaker 2: I mean Brisbane?
- 4:42Speaker 1: Now?
- 4:42Speaker 2: So I'll be come along to the Brisbane show for sure.
- 4:44Speaker 1: A chi very good. I'm looking forward. We played that
- 4:48Speaker 1: place once when we support it in Heart's Wake and
- 4:52Speaker 1: it has been my favorite tour, my favorite show of
- 4:56Speaker 1: that tour because of the venue is so nice and
- 4:59Speaker 1: that people were not So I've got high expectations. High expectations,
- 5:04Speaker 1: easy man.
- 5:05Speaker 3: And alongside those headline days, so you're hidden Froth and
- 5:08Speaker 3: Fury Festival in Adelaide. So how do you mentally prepare
- 5:11Speaker 3: the transition, like from the intimate, sweaty Cob show atmosphere
- 5:15Speaker 3: into the massive, open stage type thing of Broth and Fury.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We do that in Europe a lot. Like we like
- 5:23Speaker 1: during the summer run. We often go back and forth
- 5:25Speaker 1: from festivals to club shows and I really like it. It
- 5:28Speaker 1: keeps things bed, Like I know, there's many many people
- 5:31Speaker 1: that like that, love their routine, like having the same
- 5:33Speaker 1: thing every night, and I like having different things every
- 5:36Speaker 1: single night, Like everything looks different and stuff. I like it.
- 5:39Speaker 1: So for me, there's like it's exciting more than like
- 5:42Speaker 1: how do I how do I manage this? No, it's
- 5:45Speaker 1: like I like that. It is like that. You know,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I'm very, very excited to play the first festival in Australia.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's going to be our first festival, so I'm excited
- 5:54Speaker 1: to do this.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Ah.
- 5:56Speaker 3: So you bring in counterparts and box like with your mate,
- 5:59Speaker 3: and make sure one of the most violid and embrace
- 6:02Speaker 3: the metal lineups in twenty twenty seven, man, like, how
- 6:05Speaker 3: did this package come together? And is there a little
- 6:07Speaker 3: small party that's worried that everyone to be worn out
- 6:09Speaker 3: by the time you get on stage.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Honestly, no, I'm not, because I think a three band
- 6:16Speaker 1: bill is perfect. It's perfect amount of bands, especially when
- 6:19Speaker 1: when it's like intense music. I don't understand four or
- 6:22Speaker 1: five six bands at one night. I don't understand this
- 6:25Speaker 1: concept at all. It's too much for me. But three bands,
- 6:28Speaker 1: I think it's perfect. And counterparts. I love their music
- 6:32Speaker 1: so much. I really really do like them. And we
- 6:36Speaker 1: toured once or twice together, and since then we stayed friends,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and we were waiting to tour again together for such
- 6:43Speaker 1: a long time. And the fact that we can do
- 6:45Speaker 1: this in such a sick country as Australia is fucking
- 6:47Speaker 1: I love this Fox Lake, good people, good friends, good music.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And we hung out so many times already, we played
- 6:56Speaker 1: shows together, we drank so many beers together. So this
- 7:00Speaker 1: is like a dream tour. It's in a dream country.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Both bands are like the people, both bands are like
- 7:06Speaker 1: the music. What else do you fucking want? It's going
- 7:09Speaker 1: to be.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Nice to stay here, bro, bringy beaser and stay here, right,
- 7:16Speaker 2: I love it and provide us the change.
- 7:20Speaker 3: That you bring in a much biggest show to Australia
- 7:22Speaker 3: Tom round too, So that's fall on the surprise. What
- 7:26Speaker 3: sort of visual or production upgrades and fans expect when
- 7:29Speaker 3: the lights get down.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean, of course we want to bring some production.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I love visual stuff, a lot of lights, all of
- 7:34Speaker 1: a good production. I know we cannot bring what we
- 7:38Speaker 1: have in Europe obviously because it's which is not big
- 7:41Speaker 1: enough to do that, you know, But we try to
- 7:45Speaker 1: put as many things on stage as we can. But
- 7:48Speaker 1: also I know for a fact that we are a
- 7:50Speaker 1: band we don't even if we're zero percent of production,
- 7:53Speaker 1: we would still have a great fucking time and a
- 7:55Speaker 1: great fucking show. So it's like there's no pressure of
- 7:58Speaker 1: bringing the best thing poss well because we don't need
- 8:01Speaker 1: a good production in my opinion, in order to have fun.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But I love a good production, so I want to
- 8:06Speaker 1: bring things, you know. And now, knowing that the tickets
- 8:09Speaker 1: are selling well, I can focus on things like, hey,
- 8:13Speaker 1: what can we do? What can we bring? We have
- 8:14Speaker 1: this amount of money, we have this amount of time,
- 8:17Speaker 1: those other venues, what can we do? You know? And
- 8:20Speaker 1: we're trying to give those shedding people the same experience
- 8:23Speaker 1: as we can in Europe, at least as close as possible, really,
- 8:27Speaker 1: you know.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yeah, And the tour is going to be heavily album
- 8:31Speaker 4: with songs from me released the Wilted APay, Right, So
- 8:35Speaker 4: how do other of the songs on that expand on
- 8:37Speaker 4: the bleak aggressive foundations that you built with Cursed.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Honestly, everything feels really really good and really really like
- 8:46Speaker 1: natural and organic with this whole release is and the
- 8:48Speaker 1: people seem to enjoy all of them, which I'm very
- 8:51Speaker 1: very happy about. And what I like the most is
- 8:54Speaker 1: playing a new song for the first time in a
- 8:58Speaker 1: new country kind of deal, you know. And we I
- 9:02Speaker 1: think there's six songs that we're gonna play or seven
- 9:07Speaker 1: songs that we're gonna play that we have never played
- 9:10Speaker 1: in Australia, you know, And I'm so excited about this. Well,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I'm so excited to play those six songs for the
- 9:15Speaker 1: first time in Australia because all those songs we played
- 9:19Speaker 1: all over the place, all over Europe, all over America,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and I'm like, hold on, we never played those songs
- 9:24Speaker 1: in Australia. Fuck. Yeah, It's gonna be another first time
- 9:26Speaker 1: for us, you know. And I'm very very very excited
- 9:29Speaker 1: about this. And I like the EP. I like the
- 9:33Speaker 1: EP I like Cursed, I like playing those songs, and
- 9:37Speaker 1: like I said, the fact that we have not played
- 9:39Speaker 1: anything of the Will to be p for example in
- 9:41Speaker 1: Australia makes it even more exciting.
- 9:44Speaker 3: And you mentioned that you playing these songs all around
- 9:46Speaker 3: the world, like and you obviously the first song you
- 9:48Speaker 3: play and you played them to a new crowd. But
- 9:50Speaker 3: do you've find the reactions to new songs that different
- 9:53Speaker 3: and different parts of the world.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so it depends on like how how
- 9:59Speaker 1: loud the people are, like this is it the sing
- 10:01Speaker 1: along song? Is it a mush song? Is it a
- 10:04Speaker 1: party song? Are we on a festival or we in
- 10:07Speaker 1: a club or whatever? But all over the place that
- 10:11Speaker 1: people enjoyed the new songs a lot like none of
- 10:14Speaker 1: none of the none of the places people were like
- 10:16Speaker 1: added this sucks. It has always been good. But I
- 10:19Speaker 1: expect I say that to like go crazy because you
- 10:22Speaker 1: guys do everything. You guys move a bunch and you
- 10:25Speaker 1: sing very loud. So I think I think the feedback
- 10:30Speaker 1: to the new songs are going to be amazing for us.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel when when did you get your music?
- 10:36Speaker 3: Man like and essentially Blend's death or hardcore new metal
- 10:39Speaker 3: brass And there's a lot more going on too, and
- 10:41Speaker 3: so in the creative process, like how do you find
- 10:44Speaker 3: the balance between all those genres? And like how do
- 10:46Speaker 3: you know when you got too far in one direction
- 10:48Speaker 3: or maybe not far enough in another.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I don't care. I don't care about seen as adult.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I think it's a weird concept. I understand the concept,
- 10:55Speaker 1: but either it's not for me. I don't care. As
- 10:57Speaker 1: long as I like what we do, I don't care.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And I thing that there's a too far. We write
- 11:04Speaker 1: however we feel, and I think that people people can tell,
- 11:08Speaker 1: so we want to keep doing that. We want to
- 11:10Speaker 1: keep writing however we feel. And I don't think that
- 11:13Speaker 1: there's a too far. If I want to write a
- 11:15Speaker 1: pop song, I write a fucking pop song. And if
- 11:17Speaker 1: I want to write a grindcore song, then let me
- 11:20Speaker 1: sound like a fucking pig, you know. So we we're
- 11:25Speaker 1: just doing whatever sounds good to our ears or whatever
- 11:28Speaker 1: whatever the emotions, whatever the emotions bring really like the
- 11:32Speaker 1: feelings and all that, you know, Yeah cool?
- 11:34Speaker 3: How about the library and made like with so much
- 11:36Speaker 3: going on, like how do you manage to let the
- 11:39Speaker 3: music breathe and not become congested.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Like the news that we already released breathe.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Everything made like you've got so much gone on musically,
- 11:49Speaker 3: Like it's like you say, there's been everything in there,
- 11:51Speaker 3: but that it should overlapp and sound congested.
- 11:55Speaker 2: But with you guys, you just make it all down
- 11:57Speaker 2: crispin and fresh.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Like I mean, for example, I don't listen to metal
- 12:02Speaker 1: music too often. I listen to all sorts of stuff
- 12:05Speaker 1: way more often than metal, and I try to I
- 12:09Speaker 1: always try to get my inspiration, for example, from places
- 12:12Speaker 1: very far out out of metal, and that makes it
- 12:15Speaker 1: refreshing and like keeps it exciting and fresh to me,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you know. So I never felt like that. There's been
- 12:20Speaker 1: one or two like situations in my life andere I'm like,
- 12:23Speaker 1: I don't know if I can write something right now,
- 12:25Speaker 1: And then I sit down, I'm like, oh, this is
- 12:27Speaker 1: fucking easy, fucking I'm so inspired, you know. And because
- 12:31Speaker 1: I I don't know, I take my inspiration from all
- 12:35Speaker 1: over the place, and there's been so much going on
- 12:38Speaker 1: in my private life this past couple of months. So
- 12:41Speaker 1: there's so much stuff that I want to say that
- 12:43Speaker 1: I want to tell that I want to feel or
- 12:46Speaker 1: like try to understand, and I try to do it
- 12:48Speaker 1: with the music. So right now I'm so I'm so
- 12:51Speaker 1: ready to write whatever you know. I don't feel it's
- 12:54Speaker 1: too much at all. Like musically, I don't feel it's
- 12:57Speaker 1: too much. I feel like I want to do more,
- 13:00Speaker 1: more and more constantly at this point right now. But
- 13:03Speaker 1: I want to do whatever I feel like if I
- 13:06Speaker 1: would if somebody would tell me you have to write this,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I don't think I would be able, Like I just
- 13:11Speaker 1: want to write what I feel really.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Before, can you remember the first time you ever heard
- 13:17Speaker 3: one of your songs played on the radio and where
- 13:20Speaker 3: were you and what song was it.
- 13:22Speaker 1: I don't listen to radio too much, but one thing
- 13:24Speaker 1: that I really, really really remember is we did an
- 13:28Speaker 1: interview for the biggest radio station in Switzerland, and they
- 13:32Speaker 1: don't care about metal music at all. It's really, really,
- 13:34Speaker 1: really mainstream. So it's crazy that we somehow got there
- 13:40Speaker 1: and they told us they're going to play maybe a
- 13:42Speaker 1: snippet from a song. And the lady that was like
- 13:47Speaker 1: interviewing us and like, did that radio show. She apparently
- 13:51Speaker 1: likes us a lot, And I was like tuning in.
- 13:54Speaker 1: It was late at night, it wasn't like an evening
- 13:56Speaker 1: night radio show, and I was by myself somewhere on
- 14:00Speaker 1: a mountain and I tuned in and they ended up
- 14:03Speaker 1: playing four songs, like full length four songs. I'm like,
- 14:09Speaker 1: not that I cared too much about radio stations, don't
- 14:13Speaker 1: get me wrong, but I don't listen to radio too often,
- 14:15Speaker 1: But that really made me feel very very special. I
- 14:18Speaker 1: did appreciate that so much, like there was a special moment.
- 14:22Speaker 1: She nearly dedicated an hour just to the band, like
- 14:26Speaker 1: with the four songs and the interview that with it.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I'm like, this is fucking crazy, and that that was
- 14:31Speaker 1: a memory that sticks with me for a long time.
- 14:34Speaker 1: This was at the first proper like this is the
- 14:37Speaker 1: radio station I grew up listening to when I'm in
- 14:40Speaker 1: the car with my mom or whatever, you know, So
- 14:43Speaker 1: that that was a special moment, that's for sure.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all right, right, Well thanks very much for you.
- 14:47Speaker 3: So I'm rather you will be out here with Powerplay
- 14:50Speaker 3: Swiss in January and February of twenty twenty seven.
- 14:53Speaker 2: So and brother, you take care.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Thank you so much, you too, Thank you so much
- 14:57Speaker 1: for having me, and I'll see you in February. Assass
