- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: What's up guys guys here coming up on the show today the hints about the 49ers roster What they've shown who's trending up who's trending down in the 49ers player that might just save the defense if that's not too much to ask So we got a lot to get to also
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: I want to talk about something else first, Jed York, whenever we get a weird situation, like a personal one, I try to think about what will I feel good about saying three or five days from now when the smoke clears, and I feel okay about what I said about Jed York the other day, but I thought I would give the floor to a few commenters who did like what I said.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: or thought it was weak, which is fine.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: First up, cerebral cathedral, a 17-minute rationalization of Jed is rather pathetic, hey Roman, grow a pair and step up your game.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think this means have a strong opinion, and it might also mean an an one I agree with when you use the word rationalization that makes me think you didn't just want a strong opinion, but you wanted to.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: a critical one, which is fair.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Those weren't hard to find, which doesn't mean they're wrong.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I just understand, I feel that the I felt, I think correctly, that the public punishment would and will outweigh the crime on this one, like the actual crime.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: The legal punishment was relatively light, makes you think what the legal system thought of it.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, if you think a strong stand is what was needed or anything else is soft, let's find.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: I've been doing shows for 20 years, so I kind of get an idea of how people are going to feel about what I say and, you know, the weight that those words may carry or not carry, so that not how it works.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: And ultimately I just know what I'll feel good about and that's what matters to me.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Next up, electric boog says you should be a politician a whole lot of nothing in this video, but my favorite 40 of others outlet.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: So my favorite kind of criticism, honest, but also like understand that we're actually not dealing in policy here and at the end of the day, it doesn't
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: matter of time, but it did get me thinking, I wish I should build a notes list for this, if I were a politician, what would my political platform be?
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: What would I run on?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, as I thought about it for a few minutes, it
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's mostly just traffic and noise related issues, basically, I'm the Larry David candidate.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: So like things like tickets, you got a ticket for only driving 65 in the left lane, right?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hang it out in the left lane.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you're out there for more than 15 seconds, 20 seconds, ticket, no loud exhaust for any car mid after 1985.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe 79.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: I people didn't take some expertise on that, but loud exhaust problem for me.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Pedestrians.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a pedestrian and you're wearing over the ear or noise cancel headphones in both ears, you got one ear.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: But both ears, over the ear headphones, and you don't look both ways.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you're in a crosswalk,
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: You're liable for any damage to my bumper and also jail time for any CEO of any company that has a website that says like remember my password, but then when you go back in 12 days, you don't remember your password and they don't remember your password.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: So if there's a political party running on these issues.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for making me think of my list.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's my list of issues.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: So let's get on to it.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Coming up on Wednesday night, and I mean, night, like 11 PM at night, I just read a story.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: The Quantissaribus A380.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to take them out of service in 2028.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's a double-decker.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's huge.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's 400 plus seats.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, big plane, big travel party when you go, going to go for a week.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: So big flight for the 40 matters.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to land on Friday morning Australia time.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: So we leave Wednesday night here.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Australia, Melbourne 17 hours ahead will land early.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think like 830 a.m. or something on Friday.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: I've been told.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: that the Niners are going to at some point maybe early afternoon get out stretch their legs just run around a little bit not really a practice and that there's going to be a bunch of middle schoolers there and
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: that someone needs to explain football to the middle schoolers and that that person is me.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm very excited about it, but I've realized that I need to figure out what it is they know.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: I have no points of reference for like, well, hey, like you guys do in Aussie rules football or as they call footy.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like you guys do this, this guy does that.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, so I've been watching a lot of Melbourne.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: YouTube's.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: So I got to figure out what they know, and I got to figure out what to do with Melbourne.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: So if any of you have Melbourne recommendations, I welcome them.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: I have a recommendation for you, which is that this show was brought to you by my friends at Volvo Cars Marin right now.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: If you're watching on YouTube, you see the beautiful XC 90 T8.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: charging in the yellow lot, uh, down in Santa Clara the other day at practice.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: We are loving this thing.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: Got the captain's chairs.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: The blonde interior, it's great.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's, uh, I figured out how to drive it really efficiently too from an electric standpoint.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll try to see how long we go without putting any.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: fuel in it.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're looking for a new or used Volvo, you got to go visit Volvo, cars, Marin, Matt Gordon and the crew will take great care of you, no pressure, great explanations.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: You want to test drive seven cars.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, don't tell them I said that, but you know, they're going to be very patient and show you a little bit everything and teach a little about about if you don't know, a little bit about what they got.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: So appreciate them.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody here's very happy my parents were here on Friday and went out to took the baby out to a little farm out and tiled in, which he saw the bunnies and was like, and that was like, all right, well, maybe maybe it's too young for this.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: But it was a fun little outing, nice walk and everybody was very comfortable in the Volvo from Volvo cars marrant.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: So thanks to Volvo.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I want to get to the keys.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: the keys to setting up this season now that we're just over, you know, we can have away two weeks, I guess, away from the 49ers opener.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: roster decisions that we're being made right now and it's tough because you got to make them faster, they're just more permanent since you're leaving the country, leaving the hemisphere in a few days.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: One major headline I thought before we get to the players, the other day Tim Kawakami Kalshana hand was available to the media before the Niners Left for Vegas and Tim Kawakami
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Kyle Shanahan, a unique home plays in the last preseason game.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: He said, no, no surprise there.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: Clay Kubiak, who Clint Kubiak called, I said it.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think I said it twice on the broadcast.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like I told Tim Ryan, hey, Clint Kubiak says the Clay Kubiak's brilliant and he's the smartest Kubiak.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then I couldn't remember, had I said it on the air or had I just said it to Tim in the booth?
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then I said it in the fourth quarter of the game and I thought it to myself, I'm pretty sure I said it on the air twice now today.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh,
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: If I said it twice, you would've been like, dude, you already, you're using run in your same material, I guess I was, but so then Tim said, well, will you be calling the plays week one?
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Kyle said his answer was most likely.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: which I thought was interesting because I don't think his answer probably has ever been most likely.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: There really hasn't even been a question.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's really what it is.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's never even been a question about who's calling the plays in the regular season.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: There was the one week 18 gaming against the Cardinals a couple of years ago that didn't matter and I think my local report of afterwards that they'd call those plays or to Clint call those plays.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: 23, 24.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was Clay.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was the 24 season.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, that game was a Rams game at the end of the year.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: And the Cardinals game was, anyway, doesn't matter.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: There was a Rams game, they knew they didn't matter.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: There was a Cardinals game of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end of the end.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: And the Rams game was 2023 because that was Sam.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Darn old.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: So got it right.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe Clint called the game.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: No Clint was with the Saints.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter who called.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Clay called both of them.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: But the Cardinal game was the end of 24.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: And that was the, uh, John Jennings got ejected and couldn't get a thousand yards game.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what to make of that comment from Kyle.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: The game day experience is different than anything else that we've done yet.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: And so I just got to make sure I feel good enough for it.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what a flight to Australia.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: This is just me hearing that answer.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: I looked at Kawakami, like what?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I haven't heard Kawakami.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: I usually, I'm religious listener of, for dinner's post-minus.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't listened to the latest episode yet.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if they talked about it.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: It would have been a post-game writer show.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: But I just, it caught my attention.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know what it means, but it now just means before the game is going to be asked about it and after the game is going to be asked about it when before it was never even a thing to ask about okay a few things offense and then we'll go defense
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: The 49ers have most key positions locked in, obviously, as long as guys are healthy.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: But I think already, one of the big questions of the year, right now, the thing you just can't know, and I think you would have thought this a month ago, but now you really think it after he had two different injuries in two different weeks, Mike Evans, is he gonna be good this year?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Before I think the question was like, is he gonna be healthy enough this year?
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And now it's like, is he gonna be good this year?
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Is he gonna look old?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I hope he's healthy enough for us to find out.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: And the thing with him is I do think if he's healthy enough to play, he's going to be really useful player for them because he's not the only, I mean, he's the number one receiver.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: feels like struggling is going to get plenty.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Debo's going to get plenty.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: So number one receiver?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, centerpiece.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you're asking him to be that.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think that's one of the big questions you're going into the year.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Is he going to be healthy enough?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Does Debo look and distribute the dribbling look as good as we think?
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Striply is what you want to rookie to look like, and I know there's some people on the analytics side of go because of his age largely, but the projections on him when you look at route efficiency from college, it just was bad.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was bottom of the rankings and that the preseason and practice performances are fools gold.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: If I had only seen him in the preseason, I'd beat his games.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be more inclined to believe that, but having a watch him in practice, you know, what I've said many times, if your, if your games look like your practice, then it tells me that I can trust your practice, that there's something there, if you look the same, every time it ratchets up a little bit, then to me, there's something there and with this guy, there's something there.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just like, I'll get to the defense, but Caleb, Caleb, I'm black too, like you just want it to look like that.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Stribbling, K-Lon Black, they put him in the games and they just look like they just go play and they fit in right away the whoa You don't really realize a guy doesn't look fast until you see a guy look fast and hit the whole heart And when K-Lon Black hits the hole just boom, there's no messing around None so You know, it's like what you haven't gotten out of these nine or like we've watched so many nine or receivers in recent years Who are come in rookies whatever and you're like
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, maybe Danny Gray, maybe like Jordan Watkins last year in campus, like, yeah, maybe, okay, this looks good.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then it just hasn't translated.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: I thought the other night, it was pretty eye-opening.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: If Jordan Watkins, I think is, it feels, he's lucky that they don't
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the way they played him the other day against the Raiders, it reminded me of the way the Panthers played Christian McCaffrey the week before trading him to the Niners.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think Christian, they played the Randy played in LA.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think Christian touched the ball.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was something in the range of like nine times on the first 11 snaps for the Panthers.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: They were putting
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were trying to get Jordan Watkins traded before cutting him.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's what it like, so it's either one of two things, right?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Either we're trying to make them look good so we can trade them, because otherwise we're gonna cut them because we don't have room for them.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Or, and this is what it actually is, because they don't have a roster crunch at receiver.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have enough, and he's their number two part returner.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it sounds like it does sound like Jacob Cowen's gonna be good to go.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: but can he stay good to go?
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he had the great moment against the chargers and then he didn't put pads on in the next few practices.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, they need walkins.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so the way they called plays the day in the second quarter, the third and fourth quarter, the radar game was, bro, we need you.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: They, to their credit, it's what you, I mean, to me is really smart.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Clay Kubi, I can Kyle, I'm sure it was the plan.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like we got to get Jordan Watkins going
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: because we need them.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: And a Mac Jones, God bless Mac Jones.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: All he wants to do is play.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, the guy, the practice against the Chargers, the game against the Chargers, the game the other day, like his receivers just aren't on his level in these games when he's playing with guys who have not done much in terms of producing in the NFL.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: And the Chargers practice it happened, I think was Kim, and I didn't see the play, but I remember Kim, and I think was Kim tweeting a writing
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: that Mac threw an exception, but he thought it was Cam thought it was because Jordan Wacken stopped running, it was in the wrong place, whatever, the deep, bally threw the Jordan Wackens in the game was like, you couldn't drop it in a better spot, and there was whatever the issue was.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: So they clearly badly want to get him going.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: The tough thing for them is, Conderal Hodge is the guy that looks like he's kind of the
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and he contributes on special teams coverage made a big tackle on special teams coverage.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a sneaky take.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't write this down, but just reminded me, I think the writers have, I know there are questions about like, is his leg big enough?
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've majorly upgraded a punner.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: Coralous waitmen hit me the other night in the third preseason game.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't gone back to check, but I'm pretty sure since I've watched every punt.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's pointed.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe put in one near the middle of the field.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: Everything is to the numbers, it's to the sideline.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: And so the reason caderal Hajj makes this big hit on special things, one of the reasons he won, and give him credit as the gunner.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: But when you put to the sideline, you are punting into the path of your gunners, big special teams, guys.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: you're putting into the path of your putter of your of your gunner.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: So your gunner doesn't have to weave or he just runs straight down the field and runs right into the returner and obviously when the returners in the middle of the field he's got more places to go more space he's hard to to Carl.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Carver Willis, who didn't play left garden college, is playing a ton of left guard.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: He played a ton of left guard in practice, running with the ones in practice, getting a ton of run the other day.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: In the game, not our Colby's going right guard left guard.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, poonies back, it sounds like he will be.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: But it feels like at this point, the Niner's are gonna roll out a rookie who didn't play the guard in college at guard against the Rams.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: One healthy, I think PFF called him
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, now he's, you know, playing next to Trent and he's playing next to Jake Brendel, experience.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: But those guys got to stay healthy.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like, one of those guys goes down.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: The other one is like, they brought in Brett Toth to be their backup center.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't seen them.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: So that's another area where their backup center is thin and obviously guard is, you know, they are.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: You have to play somebody at left guard so they feel like he's gotten better clearly.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: But that is, you know, that that in punt returner, like they're going to be better on special themes as long as I catch punts.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: Cowning catches punts and can make some plays.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: How many games are you going to play?
- 17:07[SPEAKER_00]: If it's not cowing, it's concerning.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: just put it that way.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: If it's not counting back there, it's concerning.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: On defense, Nick Bosa, it's the whole thing.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's everything.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: Is this a blip or something with him?
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out soon.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know the answer.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: Alfred Collins, did never good preseason.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: Grayson Halton, the rookie from Oklahoma, looked really good.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: But he's been banged up now a few times.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: Not a great way to start the career.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: At this point, Osadigizua clearly has upgraded their interior.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: If Nick posts us back in Kianwai's healthy, you feel okay.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: Do I feel like I know they're going to be better on the interior?
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe, just because of Odigizua, but better is not good, necessarily.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: So that's concerning.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Alfred Collins, here we go, you're two, take a step, I don't, doesn't feel like that's happened.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: You just want guys to flash in the precept to make plays in the preseason.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I know the Raiders played their starters a little bit, but Alfred Collins played longer than the Raiders' starters than the other day.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: And there was no flash, there was no playmaking.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that's concerning.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I mentioned at the top, like, is there a guy coming out of nowhere to maybe save the diners?
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: That guy might be James Thompson, who's undrafted.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: Could he be a starter inside on the defensive line?
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, yes.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it doesn't feel like there's much resistance at this point.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: Bryson Easton, another one of their undrafted interior guys,
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: promising after one year, but you have to take that second year step.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: The sophomore year, you know, the bars raised.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: So when we talked to, I remember, and I said this three years ago, after that malloc and Mustafa class, I was like, this class, they're amazing.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: What a great class.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, they're gonna play more snaps now, year two.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: So the bars no longer are you good for rookie?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, are you a building block or not?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: And on the interior, we don't know that with any of these guys.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: But this guy, James Thompson, big number 75.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_00]: To me, it went from like, can I get him to practice why?
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: Two, he's got to make that, he's got to make the 53.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the other guy on the flip side of dribbling and kale on black, like, I don't need to do it, like they just make plays.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: Ramilla height.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: did not become the talk of camp right the way you'd love wanting your top rookies to be.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: I thought maybe and I said this day that I think on this show.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe taking some time getting a little nicked up as long as you can get back to 100% you know I start your career hurt.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: just to rest a little, maybe he wore down a little bit in camp.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: He was, you know, that basically, without Bosa and Keon White and no Mike Kelly's basically the top edge rusher in camp.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe he wore down, maybe he'll come back, you get all those guys health that you get them out there with, you know, because yeah, he played with some big time defensive linemen, right?
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: at Texas Tech.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, okay.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: He should play with, if he plays with a big-time group of defensive players with the nions, maybe it's okay that he played, you know, oh, he looked, you know, I look good and we played with other stars.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, okay, but he's going to be playing with other stars here.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: It should be.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully that's enough for him to be impactful, but
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so far you haven't seen the dribbling K-Long Black.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even have to think about it.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have to watch it again.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have to ask anybody or check the tape.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so obvious to hit you over the head.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what makes you excited about dribbling and K-Long Black because we just haven't seen, it's like maybe, but we just haven't seen it.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then lastly, the secondary, they've been talking.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll be so much better.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: They gotta prove it.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: out the gate.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, they need help.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just them.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: You need a pass rush, which the miners did not generate last year at all.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: But these guys say it's going to be better that the system's better, the schemes simpler, they're going to play faster, cut it loose.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we got to say it.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: One bonus one, triggering law.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: We all know there's the questions about staying healthy.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Fine.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's not my top question with him.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's just how does he look?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: How does he look?
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: He is not in the fact that he did not enjoy being in Denver, and so he's back.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: Is the sequel as good as the original?
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's another one at the very top of the list.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: So those are some of the big ones for me coming into this year.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Where do I think this team is?
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're absolutely still a contender.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's much doubt about it.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: The Rams game, there's so much heat on it.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: You win this game and come back home and play three.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: You have really the potential to get things off on the right foot.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: So the second half of the schedule is going to be tough.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: We're supposed to be El Nino coming in November.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: Someone told me that today it might be more Southern California.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: It could be good for the nighters in that if it happens, not good.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_00]: But the fact that they're on the road a lot in November, maybe helps.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: But it also could make practice.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: Harry, there's no, the numbers don't have an indoor facility, obviously.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you don't ever, you don't need one much.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: The coach is always loving an indoor.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so I don't.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what happens, how do they net, that will become a story, right?
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: How do you navigate that if you're, if we're getting pounded with rain in Northern California a week when the Niners are home and really they'll be home to practice except for the week before the Mexico City game where it sounds like they'll be in Colorado Springs, which is cold.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: In November, would you prefer the cold to the dumping rain?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think you would, because it just gets so, if it's really dumping, if it's just drizzling, that's different.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: But if it's really dumping, it's hard to practice, like you'd rather practice in the cold.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, that's just, that's another one to just file away.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: But those are some of the big ones.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: As we know, things will happen this year that we're unpredictable and we'll have plenty to talk about.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it'll come out of the field, that's fine.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: off the Melbourne we go again if you have been the Melbourne and you have recommendations please send in to me or put them in the comments of the YouTube channel this video as you know I read them and I appreciate a positive and negative or indifferent it's all good we're just hanging out in the internet here and talking about so appreciate y'all and we'll talk soon later
