- 0:10What does the nanny do? OK, so we're done.
- 0:13Goodbye. You.
- 0:16Shut it off. Do not twist my words.
- 0:19Do not make me a victim, sweetie.
- 0:21Just look at the mountain. That's what you.
- 0:23Saw that day just the knife in
- 0:29and the sacrifices that I made
- 0:48Season 6 Episode 17 tragedy in
- 0:56tragedy this week. I cried yet again.
- 1:01Oh I cried during this episode. 2 weeks in a row of Kimber
- 1:06tears. Multiple apparent tragedies
- 1:10apparent, oh I shouldn't call them apparent tragedies for the
- 1:14Brown family discussed in this
- 1:16A real feel good episode. Oh boy, it was rough for me and
- 1:22ready to face it head on here with you.
- 1:25Oh. Tackling all the big issues here
- 1:29on my Sister Wives podcast. Yes.
- 1:31We open the episode at Meri's house where the adults are
- 1:33gathering. We are told that there are 45
- 1:36days until the commitment ceremony is happening.
- 1:40And of course, the big items that they're pending are the
- 1:43family mission statement. They're going to do some
- 1:45backyard work, finalizing the guest list.
- 1:49Of course, they're behind on everything and they feel they
- 1:51need to panic because, you know,
- 1:54things and implement them. I mean, the timeline bit is a
- 1:58little messy too because I don't
- 2:01It seemed like recently we didn't have 45 days.
- 2:05But then I thought about truly
- 2:0710 days and I'm going, well, that was over a week of time.
- 2:10So time has been irrelevant on
- 2:15feel like it doesn't exist. It has been, they mentioned
- 2:17later on in the episode that it's been a month since Truly's
- 2:20been out of the hospital. So we are jumping ahead about a
- 2:24month's time here. So trying to keep that in mind.
- 2:28I have to correct you. They called it a commitment
- 2:31celebration this time around. Oh, commitment, celebration.
- 2:35Of course. You know, I can't keep these
- 2:38things straight. I'm just making up whatever
- 2:40things I want to say. Oh, it just cracks me up.
- 2:42Yeah, they keep changing their
- 2:46Kody does let us know that they're getting the yards ready,
- 2:50and this is the first time it's mentioned that something might
- 2:54be partook being partaken in the
- 2:59I joked previously about it being a backyard shindig.
- 3:04Totally joking. I had no idea that this actually
- 3:07happens in the backyard. Oh, funny.
- 3:09This is our first inkling that
- 3:13for it. I thought you maybe put that
- 3:14together because of a clip where
- 3:18the future and when they're standing in the yard doing the
- 3:21ceremony. However, it doesn't look the
- 3:23same as any of the yards today because, oh, they have to do
- 3:27things to their yards to get ready.
- 3:28What a shock. And I'm just not that brilliant,
- 3:34Well, you haven't seen these, you know, like, if you've seen
- 3:37it, it's a little obvious that
- 3:40But if you haven't seen it, then
- 3:43I literally joked about it thinking, Oh yeah, backyard
- 3:46hoedown. But blood?
- 3:47And that's what they're going to
- 3:49In this episode, we're meeting
- 3:53her husband Sean. And Bree is an event planner,
- 3:57and she's coming over to the house to help them plan this
- 4:00lovely event, this commitment ceremony, commitment
- 4:04celebration, whatever it's called.
- 4:07Robyn jokes that Bree is going
- 4:10Which I think is so funny because as an execution person
- 4:12myself, you can have some interesting conversations with
- 4:16people where they want to do everything, but they can't
- 4:19usually they can't afford to do anything or they can only
- 4:21afford to do one thing and they want to do 3.
- 4:22And so you have to be the bearer
- 4:26the room that's like, well, you have to make a choice and you
- 4:28have to make a decision or you
- 4:30And people are always like, oh
- 4:32So I did enjoy that. Robyn joked about that.
- 4:35Even though it's kind of, I don't know, it's a nothing
- 4:38burger. Brie tells the parents that 45
- 4:41days is a bit of a crunch to plan an event in line with what
- 4:44the Browns have proposed. It usually would take something
- 4:47like months of planning. And I think it's funny because
- 4:50we do get into this a little later, how it's not a wedding,
- 4:53but they keep teeing everything up as if it's on the same scope
- 4:56as a wedding. You know, there's the cake and
- 4:58the decor and the ceremony and
- 5:01And apparently they could have
- 5:05cake planning or whatever. So, you know, I don't really, I
- 5:09know what to say. I'm pretty sure I could throw
- 5:11together a backyard shindig in
- 5:14I think this is just, you know, filler production, whatever.
- 5:19Bree says usually she has 10 to 12 months to plan a party this
- 5:25large. So yeah, definitely wedding
- 5:28timeline there. Meri mentions earlier that she
- 5:33has thought of at least 70 couples on her list that she is
- 5:39going to invite and Janelle looks at her and goes 70, just
- 5:45incredulous. What?
- 5:48Between all of them they probably know at least 70
- 5:51couples though I guess that doesn't seem too far fetched to
- 5:55me. It depends on if you're inviting
- 5:57the entire family or just the couples though.
- 6:01So maybe Bri has a point that she should have more than 45
- 6:04days, but it's not as large scale as a wedding.
- 6:08So bringing it back to the wedding, they start discussing
- 6:14the band, the possibility of having a band there, and Kody
- 6:18lets us know that he wants a string quartet.
- 6:22This is where we find out that
- 6:29Bell's Canon in D Did I even say
- 6:36I don't know. Well, you said Canon in D, and
- 6:39that's all that matters. The rest is a bit letters and
- 6:42vowels and syllables and all sorts.
- 6:45Of this song is a well known wedding song.
- 6:49Most people will recognize the
- 6:52people are walking down the aisle at a wedding, not to be
- 6:55confused with the wedding March when they do the post kiss and
- 6:58it's like Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun Dun.
- 7:04It's not that it's slower and boring.
- 7:06It's the one where not the white, not the.
- 7:09And maybe that's actually when
- 7:11I'm not sure. But it's not the song that the
- 7:14bride walks down the aisle. It's like when everyone else is
- 7:16walking down the aisle. It's the boring one.
- 7:18It's not. Here comes the broad.
- 7:21No, no, no. If that was Kody's favorite
- 7:24song. I know, right?
- 7:26But it's just an odd choice to
- 7:28I'm not even quite sure what that says about someone's taste
- 7:32in music. We do see in the future as well
- 7:35that Kody has some odd music choices, like he likes to work
- 7:38out to, I believe, classical music like Mozart and whatnot.
- 7:42And of course, when that happens
- 7:45is like, I listen to like, rapping heavy metal or
- 7:47something and it's like, Oh my gosh, yes.
- 7:49Like who works out to Mozart? I could never.
- 7:52Kody tells us that he wants to hear this song on repeat for an
- 7:57hour, played by the string quartet Psychotic.
- 8:00That's all I could say about that.
- 8:04He seemed serious, too. I didn't feel like a joke.
- 8:09It felt serious. Janelle says that not during the
- 8:21they want to avoid things that make the ceremony feel like a
- 8:23wedding, and I'm going. You mean like the wedding music,
- 8:29The entire thing is basically not a wedding slash wedding.
- 8:34A string quartet. I can't imagine a fun party
- 8:38having a string quartet. I think of wedding when I think
- 8:42of a string quartet. When Bri asks what they want to
- 8:46do during the ceremony, Robyn says they want to sign their
- 8:49family mission statement and Meri says they want to plant a
- 8:58How moving, How touching? Meri yells this out, though she
- 9:02interrupts Robyn's nice spiel to Bri about what their plans
- 9:07are. Meri, seemingly out of nowhere,
- 9:10goes. I want to plant a tree.
- 9:14I want to plant a tree. It was really awkward.
- 9:19What was she thinking? She seemed to be on something.
- 9:22It was bizarre. Oh my God.
- 9:25It felt like nobody had talked
- 9:28screamed it out out of nowhere.
- 9:30And this is where we transition to Robyn's backyard.
- 9:33Kody tells us they've decided to spend money on improving
- 9:36someone's backyard rather than hosting at an outdoor event
- 9:39space. And I just thought it was great
- 9:42that it happens to be Robyn's house.
- 9:44Oh, isn't that convenient? They're going to spend all of
- 9:46this money making someone's backyard Look event ready.
- 9:48I wonder which wife is going to have that backyard?
- 9:52What a chin scratcher. Some guy rolls up to the
- 9:56compound in a truck that says Living Water, Lawn and Garden
- 10:02and they show him mapping out the yard with paint.
- 10:07We learned his name is Mark, but we also learn that they are
- 10:13getting the yard redone because of the ceremony.
- 10:16And yes, this is the first time that they blatantly pointed out
- 10:20to us along with introducing us to this wonderful new character,
- 10:28are the first polygamists that he has met, duh, and that it's a
- 10:36Again, any single time that we meet a vendor or a person, they
- 10:42ask them this question. Have you met polygamists before
- 10:47and prompt this question? The answer is always no.
- 10:50These are the first polygamists I've met.
- 10:52It's nothing new. Why do they tee that question up
- 11:02on? It's not interesting at this
- 11:05point. Yeah, it's lame and boring and
- 11:06they do it all the time, and this is no different.
- 11:10And it just brings up this whole
- 11:14like, who the fuck cares? This Mark guy says that he
- 11:18thinks Kody seems to be doing a pretty good job at handling 4
- 11:21wives and it's like, OK, cool.
- 11:24Not really. But Mark also thinks if they
- 11:26have Jesus Christ in their hearts, they have just as likely
- 11:30a chance to get into heaven as
- 11:34so wonderful of him. He has such a great worldview.
- 11:37Robyn claims she had no idea of his religious affiliations.
- 11:40And I'm going, oh, really? With a business like the name of
- 11:43Living Water Lawn and Garden, you didn't know that he had any
- 11:46religious affiliation? Like, she's so dumb.
- 11:49And this is also in a interview moment, so she's had time.
- 11:52It's like, stop saying these things.
- 11:54Why are you even saying this? Like she's so dumb she can't
- 11:57read, she can't comprehend, she doesn't even know Christian
- 12:00whatnot and I'm like she is not a Christian she is dark sided
- 12:06gargoyles and evil. Like my God, Robyn, she's just
- 12:10so dumb. Anybody that introduces themself
- 12:14like Mark did here as a Christian man of God, I
- 12:19instantly question their morals.
- 12:22I don't know. I question the person that
- 12:27introduces themself as that. Usually they are pretending she,
- 12:37person. He goes in on the Browns.
- 12:41He does say, like you said, that he thinks if they believe in
- 12:46Jesus Christ and if they have Jesus Christ in their hearts to
- 12:49whether they're polygamists or not, they probably have just as
- 12:52good of a chance to get into heaven as he does.
- 12:56But I don't know about that sin though.
- 12:59I'm kind of against basically having multiple wives, being a
- 13:10commandments. All right, Mark.
- 13:13On the couch, the adults discussed doing business with
- 13:16people of different faiths. You know, and Chanel is normal
- 13:23And I'm just going, what does it matter what faith someone is
- 13:26when they're doing your landscaping?
- 13:27I mean, if he's sitting in your front yard saying I'm going to,
- 13:30you know, summon the devil and we're going to do ritualistic
- 13:33dances and I'm going to open a portal to the fire and brimstone
- 13:41But it just seems like it doesn't matter at all.
- 13:45And it's just, it's just lame. It's so lame.
- 13:49To me, working with an ethical landscaper would mean that they
- 13:53don't use poison or pesticides or things like that.
- 13:57I wouldn't be referencing their religion because it would be a
- 14:03come up right. I don't know what religion many
- 14:08people in my life are. I don't know what religion my
- 14:11hairdresser is. It's none of my goddamn
- 14:13business, you know? So why would I care what my lawn
- 14:22As long as they're not poisoning
- 14:24the earth while they're working on my lawn?
- 14:27That's ethical to me. Yeah, my concerns would lie in
- 14:30bait and switch and giving bad
- 14:33the work. It wouldn't be, oh, what faith
- 14:35are they? But you know, whatever I guess.
- 14:37I'm also not starring in ATV show based on my backwards cult
- 14:40religion whatnotness so they got
- 14:43Janelle looked really good in this interview.
- 14:46This couch look for her, I'm loving it.
- 14:50Her low lights are fresh. They actually look like low
- 14:53lights now. They're a darker brown low
- 14:56light. She has makeup that is giving
- 14:59her face a life. She's wearing a purple Plaid
- 15:04shirt, which is kind of an odd
- 15:07her skin tone and her makeup. She looked really good.
- 15:12It's probably one of the first
- 15:18being so put together and the weight loss and working on her
- 15:23overall appearance and doing some cohesive makeup, look and
- 15:26hair and outfit. She looked great.
- 15:29Oh, I was going to say the same thing about Robyn, but I just
- 15:33don't think that's right. Well, discussing where they
- 15:36should plant a new tree in Robyn's backyard because of
- 15:39course Kody has to bring up oak trees and they're doing this
- 15:42tree alive and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 15:45The topic of polygamy for some
- 15:49Kody's on the couch and he says we have been hiding from our
- 15:51polygamy and offending the world.
- 15:54I'm tired of not letting it shine.
- 15:56And the celebration we're planning is finally an
- 15:59opportunity for us to own our polygamy and say, hey, dammit,
- 16:03I'm a polygamist, come and be my
- 16:05Anyway, my hell. And it's like, excuse me, we're
- 16:10on the 6th season of ATV show where you have been polygamous
- 16:13out and proud and apparently even before you were on TV
- 16:17according to Christine's lies and delusion later in the
- 16:19episode. So what the hell are you even
- 16:21talking about? Everyone knows you're a
- 16:23polygamist. It's strange.
- 16:25Thank you. We are six years in on a TV
- 16:28show. You're out and proud.
- 16:30Damn it. We all know it.
- 16:32My hell. My hell, I can't.
- 16:36Imagine saying my hell with any regularity.
- 16:39Like where the fuck does this shit even come from?
- 16:41He's heated too. He's got his stern face on and
- 16:44he's got his head shaking and his hair waving.
- 16:46How he gets He's heated, yes. Heated those curls were bouncing
- 16:52and he was going my hell, like, OK, Kody, all right, hey, damn
- 16:56it, I'm a polygamist. Come and be my friend anyway.
- 16:59Like, OK, I don't think people
- 17:02friend because you're a polygamist.
- 17:03They're probably choosing to not
- 17:05obnoxious and an egomaniacal nut
- 17:08Yeah, yeah. TLC pay some bills and then we
- 17:11cut to Kody packing up a bag at Robbins House.
- 17:13Oh, where else would he be packing up a bag but at Robbins
- 17:16House? What a shock.
- 17:18We get a hard left turn in this episode.
- 17:20We go Scrooge, Yes. Just like that minivan could
- 17:27have been doing Into the Plague Desac the previous one of our
- 17:30previous episodes, but instead
- 17:34And this episode did take a hard
- 17:36Screeching on into the cul-de-sac in these minivans.
- 17:40We're packing for a trip. Oh yeah, we find out that
- 17:42everybody is packing for a family trip.
- 17:46They are going to Wyoming. Kody lets us know that it has
- 17:51been a rough summer. He has his own interview moment
- 17:55here. He lets everybody know that
- 17:58first, you know, there was truly
- 18:02brother Curtis passed away about four months ago in a
- 18:05motorcycle accident that comes out of nowhere.
- 18:09I didn't know that that happened.
- 18:11So this is news to me as a first
- 18:16He describes Curtis as a cowboy warrior, poet and after Curtis
- 18:23passed away a couple of months
- 18:28a stroke. So the rule of three here.
- 18:32There have been 3 tragedies this
- 18:37A. Reminder for our listeners at
- 18:39home, Curtis is one of Kody's brothers that came to visit in
- 18:42the seventh episode of Season 4,
- 18:47He brought along his wife Erica,
- 18:50stools from her loose sushi rolls.
- 18:52In case you're wondering which
- 18:55It's Curtis, the motorcycle driver, the rebel, the cowboy,
- 19:00warrior, poet, according to Kody
- 19:04Erica. Yeah, poor Erica.
- 19:05Still probably recovering in her
- 19:12Yeah, her flight home was definitely one for the books,
- 19:15I'm sure. Because sure it.
- 19:16Was everyone on that flight was praying?
- 19:20Praying hard. After Kody tells us about Curtis
- 19:24and his dad passing away, they
- 19:29Kody's dad, which you know these
- 19:31what a name when it just I just noticed myself thinking about
- 19:36it during the episode. Like am I going to be able to
- 19:38say his name without having to
- 19:41because these weird names, but
- 19:45the name when it's just God. OK, so they show a clip of when
- 19:48greeting some of the grandkids
- 19:52previous episode. And he was very stoic, trying to
- 19:56not emote at all while talking
- 19:59And I can't remember what he said, but it was like, oh, oh,
- 20:04like he was just like making noises.
- 20:06Like I don't even think he was
- 20:09While I was watching it, it felt
- 20:13of tears, holding things back.
- 20:17man. What a great introduction to him
- 20:19in this episode. Because what we're supposed to
- 20:21kind of surmise is that he was
- 20:25He's an asshole in general. He probably required his wife to
- 20:30get into polygamy because he was
- 20:33probably abusive, allegedly abusive whatever to his family
- 20:39members. And here he is.
- 20:41Just reminds me of this thing with like old men that have
- 20:44lived a life of being crude and rude to people and then they
- 20:47kind of lose some faculties about their their mind or
- 20:51something. And then they can't control
- 20:52their emotions so much or it just the emotions come up and
- 20:57they are trying so hard to not
- 20:59That's the vibe I got. It reminded me of a grandpa
- 21:02that's like I'm near the verge
- 21:04So I just don't talk. I just kind of grunt and make
- 21:06noises. He was patting each of the kids
- 21:08as he was saying oh, oh, oh, like there's another 10 and
- 21:15patting them. It was awkward.
- 21:18There's another person later on in this episode that is acting
- 21:22this same way and I'll point it out.
- 21:25I think that I pointed it out in
- 21:28person is so. Oh, yeah, Yeah.
- 21:32Gotcha. Yeah, Kody tells us that his dad
- 21:34stood up, had a stroke, and that
- 21:38Which what a interesting way to describe it.
- 21:41I mean, I guess that's what happens for some people.
- 21:44First he says he died of natural
- 21:47died peacefully in his sleep, and then he lets us know that he
- 21:50stood up and went, had a stroke and exited the world.
- 21:54I know at first I was like, what's up with the natural
- 21:56causes? And then I realized, oh, well,
- 21:58Curtis died in a motorcycle accident.
- 22:00So of course he's like trying to
- 22:03died in an accident, his dad died of natural causes.
- 22:06But I was a little like, whenever I hear natural causes,
- 22:08I think of a police report or like a, you know, true crime
- 22:12podcast or whatever. Like not, it's just not a phrase
- 22:16I hear very often, like natural causes.
- 22:18I don't know. You think of somebody trying to
- 22:21rush something out of the rug for insurance money.
- 22:24Well, I just think of like, well, it turns out it was
- 22:26natural causes like, okay, well,
- 22:29wasn't? I don't know.
- 22:31Does this towel smell like chloroform to you, Christopher?
- 22:34Let's put it over my face and see.
- 22:37Kody says that they're going to take a trip up to Wyoming to
- 22:40the family ranch to spend time with Kody's mom and reminisce
- 22:43about his brother and his father.
- 22:45Oh well, we love a Brown family road trip.
- 22:48Now, just like the wives going to San Francisco, we are robbed.
- 22:56because we did not get to see this road trip.
- 22:58We didn't get Meri Math, as you said.
- 23:00What? What do you call it, Meri?
- 23:01Math. Math Yes.
- 23:05We didn't get that. We didn't get to see them stop
- 23:0717 times to go to the bathroom
- 23:10We didn't get to see any of the crazy brown family drama of the
- 23:14road trips, which some people might go.
- 23:16Thank God, but I consider it a
- 23:20not when they take it out. I imagine Kody up late at night
- 23:23watching infomercials with Robyn
- 23:27shit from QVC let's say, and one
- 23:31can pee standing up so that they can do it quicker comes across
- 23:35the screen and he buys one for each van for Rd. trips for his
- 23:39girls and his wives. Not even one for everyone, just
- 23:43one per vehicle, right? Like you got to, you got to
- 23:46share. Like sorry, take out a sandy
- 23:48nap, wipe that shit up. We're all sharing other things
- 23:51anyway, as a parent by the lips.
- 23:56What is the thing called that women pee in to stand up?
- 24:02Female urination device OK. There was some cutesy dumb name
- 24:06for it I think, but I. Stand to be go girl.
- 24:12Girl. OK, so looking up this device,
- 24:20girl, the female urination device, and the original stand
- 24:26can one get herpes from a stand to be device?
- 24:29I'm not sure. Oh name depends on the person.
- 24:37wind's blowing when you're peeing in the ditch.
- 24:40This is where Christine told us that Truly got out of the
- 24:43hospital a month ago. Reminder for anyone who's
- 24:46listening for the very first time Truly is Christine's
- 24:49youngest daughter. She had kidney failure because
- 24:55the mothers were in San Francisco for three days and so
- 24:59Truly had to be admitted to the hospital and was there for 10
- 25:03days. Apparently she's doing a lot
- 25:04better. She's done with most of her meds
- 25:07So Christine is happy about that.
- 25:09She actually says it's really nice to have her feeling so well
- 25:15I never thought I'd be so happy to have a messy house.
- 25:18And I'm going, oh, bitch, please, you have the messiest
- 25:21house on television. Give me a fucking break.
- 25:23One of the most disturbing things this episode shows up.
- 25:27I don't know if this is Truly's room or one of the other kids
- 25:32bedrooms, but as Christine is packing, they show us this curio
- 25:43with bunk beds. This cabinet has clear glass
- 25:46doors like it should be housing fine China and it's being used
- 25:58would be, so I don't understand why it's being used as a dresser
- 26:06Beast armoire. I don't get it.
- 26:09We've got to struggle to qualify for our $400,000 mortgage, but
- 26:20What the fuck. These people are so bizarre.
- 26:22There were boxes next to it too, unpacked boxes and a bunk bed.
- 26:30She's sitting on the floor packing.
- 26:32The cameras are there in her face doing a one-on-one
- 26:35interview as she's packing. This is what's in the
- 26:39background. This is what's acceptable.
- 26:41OK, I can't stress enough how odd some of the choices are by
- 26:48these nice houses, went to all this trouble to qualify for
- 26:52these mortgages. They are so house poor that they
- 26:57living out of boxes. After being there for a hot
- 27:00minute. I mean this isn't like they just
- 27:04I know it just makes no sense. I mean, I guess maybe for
- 27:08investment, like Kody probably thought that the housing market
- 27:10in Las Vegas was a good thing to invest in.
- 27:12And I don't know that he's even wrong.
- 27:15It's just bizarre, especially when their rentals were so
- 27:19cramped. There was always shit in every
- 27:23a bigger home so there's less stuff, but how is it you don't
- 27:32they got to move in the middle of the night because the police
- 27:35are coming quote UN quote. But moving out of the rentals,
- 27:40And if they did, they are idiots.
- 27:42Idiots. They just get so fed up and sick
- 27:48leave up and throw in the towel.
- 27:51We'll buy new stuff then you got
- 27:56the cul-de-sac that won't let Leon take decorations to college
- 28:00because their room needs to stay
- 28:05Bunch of weirdos. Leon's room has anything a
- 28:09person could ever need and and
- 28:14their clothes in a curio cabinet.
- 28:15Like, that's the Browns, that's the Browns.
- 28:18Oh my goodness. We get an exterior shot in the
- 28:22cul-de-sac and Kody is gathering
- 28:25they hit the road. And I always get touched
- 28:28whenever they show footage of Kody gathering everyone for a
- 28:32direct conversation with God. Kody tells us that he's been
- 28:35depressed over the death of his brother, even though he has
- 28:38faith in an afterlife because he
- 28:42brother again on this earth. Seems reasonable.
- 28:46Kody tells us that Curtis was 34
- 28:48He left a widow and small children and LED a very
- 28:51passionate, fulfilling life. He is so missed.
- 28:55I'm like, OK, yes, well, sounds like a bunch of standard
- 28:57things. You know, the widow bit and the
- 29:00small children fucking sucks. Like that's terrible.
- 29:02I just hate hearing that. I started crying when he said 34
- 29:12This religion people get married young, they have kids young. 34
- 29:19is pretty young to be married and have kids in two days age.
- 29:30later, having kids later. So he did that well, maybe at an
- 29:37youngest is or how old his oldest is, but it is so young.
- 29:59she's never going to have kids of her own.
- 30:02So when they brought up his age and the fact that he had young
- 30:10walk his daughters down the aisle.
- 30:12If that was something, you know, in their cards later on in life.
- 30:19mind, being alone with small children.
- 30:24I've flashed to all of these things that I think of regularly
- 30:28when I still think of losing my friend who passed away in a
- 30:32horrific car accident. This one just really hit home
- 30:35for me. I think a lot of people know
- 30:37other people that have died in
- 30:42I'm not sure why. This one was just really tough
- 30:44for me. I think I cried more during this
- 30:46episode than I even did during
- 30:50it was sad to see truly in the
- 30:53situation with a child in the NICU, that all worked out.
- 30:58There's levity there. Knowing that it worked out.
- 31:01This was so different for me. It felt so heavy and sad.
- 31:07Kody talking about how he knows he's in a better place, but he
- 31:12still is feeling sad for himself
- 31:15never speak with him on this plane again on Earth.
- 31:21It twisted, twisted my cold, dead heart and teared me up.
- 31:26Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I got emotional a
- 31:29few times during this episode and luckily I was able to rein
- 31:34it in, I guess, which is good.
- 31:39Kody shares some background about his parents, how they were
- 31:41both raised Mormon. They got married and eventually
- 31:44heard the calling to live plural
- 31:47AKA Win wanted to get his Dick
- 31:50So he was like, you either do this or I'm leaving you or
- 31:53something. I mean, allegedly just making it
- 31:55all up now, Curtis, Kody's brother, chose to be a born
- 31:59again Christian. And this made a bit of a
- 32:01separation between Curtis and Wynn, even though Kody felt that
- 32:05Curtis and Wynn were always very
- 32:08similar enjoyments with the animals at the ranch and kind
- 32:10of was this western, what cowboy poet, whatever he called them.
- 32:15So there was some natural alignment between Curtis and
- 32:19their father. But then when Curtis chose to
- 32:22take a different path spiritually, this maybe put a
- 32:26little bit of a divide between
- 32:29As I said before, we don't get
- 32:31which I was so disappointed in
- 32:34Brown family road trip. We just love it so much.
- 32:39Oh God, we could have seen Meri being like, I'm cool to drive,
- 32:41I can drive all night, I can drive all day, I'm cool,
- 32:43whatever. Like bitch, you're being such a
- 32:45fucking bitch right now. Oh my God, I'll never forget
- 32:48that moment. Kody losing it about not getting
- 32:53But because we didn't get to see any of the road trip, we just
- 32:57get to see the family arriving at Kody's mom's house.
- 33:00Janelle. Once again, that's Janelle.
- 33:04GENIELLE. You know, you got to kind of
- 33:07spell it, how you say it kind of thing because it's Janelle and
- 33:18It's great seeing the footage of the homes in this episode 'cause
- 33:24then we spend time at Sheryl's house, who is Janelle's mom.
- 33:28And both of their homes are small and we have this entire
- 33:32family cramped in there. So it's very much like, oh, let
- 33:35me scoop by OG's. Oh scoop.
- 33:36Everyone's kind of jostling for positions and trying to find a
- 33:54punch her in the face because I'm like, Daddy, you're a bio
- 33:56grandma and I know I'm going to ruin some people's lives here,
- 33:59Back the fuck up, Back the fuck up.
- 34:02Let someone else sit there. Also.
- 34:03She just had that look on her face like, I'm here to hear the
- 34:06story and I'm such a great little Angel.
- 34:07And I'm like, no, you're not bitch.
- 34:10Anyway. Little brown nose and kiss ass.
- 34:13Yeah, tangent, tangent.
- 34:14Sorry about that everybody. Yeah, we see the how cramped it
- 34:18is because there is not enough
- 34:20Janelle is sitting on a lawn chair in her own living room at
- 34:23the beginning of this clip. They're about to eat and they
- 34:26show us the longest sub I've ever seen in my life.
- 34:32As long as a bus, one could say the longest, driest looking sub
- 34:39you've ever seen in your life.
- 34:43Like good Lord. Oh Lord my God, yeah.
- 34:49They were like, we'd have to use
- 34:51they didn't pay for the Mayo so it's dry as shit.
- 34:54It's in one piece, not cut up and put on a platter.
- 34:58Couldn't even fit in a fridge because it was so long, so it's
- 35:01been sitting out. You just know it.
- 35:03What's up with this sub? Then you know how grandmas are
- 35:06like, I picked it up at 8:00 AM because I knew you'd be here.
- 35:09And then they show up after dark
- 35:11Glad this has been sitting up that we used to happen with my
- 35:13daddy's grandma when we'd go to Omaha.
- 35:15She would buy like, KFC in the
- 35:18arrive after sundown. And my dad would be like, we
- 35:21shouldn't eat this because, you know, I don't know how long
- 35:23it's been sitting here. And it's like, that's terrible.
- 35:26And like, they just, you know,
- 35:28enthusiastic. But it's like, Oh no, don't do
- 35:30this please. More loose stools for the
- 35:33Browns. Oh, God.
- 35:35And in that house, you know, the
- 35:38brown, brown, brown, a brown, brown, brown situation.
- 35:42No. This property still probably has
- 35:45an outhouse or two, so they'll
- 35:47Oh yes, yes, running water was a
- 35:51beautiful home. As we were talking about,
- 35:54everyone kind of smashes into the living room, gathering
- 35:57around to hear the tale of how
- 36:00Janelle met. And at this point, yes, they're
- 36:03getting food or whatever. And when she's coming in, she's
- 36:05like, well, I need my chair for this story.
- 36:07And it's like, oh, she gets to
- 36:10folding chair, which is so nice.
- 36:12And this is where Aurora kneels down as if she's hearing the
- 36:16story of the coming of Christ. And it's like, backup bitch.
- 36:19Oh, I just wanted to punch her in the face.
- 36:22To your point about Aurora kissing ass and clambering, to
- 36:34the pick me behavior from Robyn because they've probably only
- 36:39met her a couple of times. This isn't their bio grandma.
- 36:44If I was that age I would have been shy.
- 36:49I would have been reserved and in the back.
- 36:52I think there is something with Robyn's behavior that pick me
- 36:58girl behavior. It rubs off on the children,
- 37:02especially the girls of pick me women.
- 37:05Pick me girls. I've noticed this in my own
- 37:09life. I come for me on this.
- 37:12You can see it when you're out at school events, for instance.
- 37:16Those girls that you know are
- 37:18pick me girls that are kissing
- 37:21trying to get stuck up to the coach and their daughters are
- 37:24doing the same fucking thing already.
- 37:28And I noticed this too and it irked me because this bad
- 37:32behavior is rubbing off on this small child already and I don't
- 37:37know how to say it other than it's this gross rubs me the
- 37:40wrong way feeling so. This is it.
- 37:43Like when I say I want to punch this 10 year old girl in the
- 37:45face, it's not because I'm going
- 37:4810 year old girls in the face.
- 37:51and the expression on her face
- 37:55hearing the story. And I'm going to be right here.
- 37:57I'm literally going to like, put
- 37:59Like, bitch, back up, you know?
- 38:01Feel the space. Find a place that's appropriate
- 38:04for you. I also think there's something
- 38:20This whole onslaught of things that are not going to work in
- 38:24Aurora's favor when she becomes an adult and everyone's like,
- 38:26not into the behavior, not into the vibes, like, what are you
- 38:30doing? It's evil step sister vibes it
- 38:36doesn't fit on Aurora, doesn't fit on Brianna.
- 38:38Oh, it fits on Savannah. OK, sorry, that was lame.
- 38:44We often get a good Disney comparison in during this.
- 38:48Podcast we do. We do.
- 38:49I know. I feel like we haven't said that
- 38:53So it was time. It was time, Grandma Janelle.
- 38:56OK, gather around children. Aurora, Back the fuck up,
- 39:00Aurora. Everyone else, gather closer.
- 39:03Gather closer. Grandma Janelle starts telling
- 39:08She was going to a high school dance and there were two grown
- 39:16One of these pedophiles asked Grandma Janelle to dance, but it
- 39:28insisted she come out to the porch.
- 39:30He asked her. You know, my pervert friend
- 39:33wants to know if you would be a farmer's wife because he plans
- 39:42Grandma Janil told him. You know when I'd rather you
- 39:46were the 1 to stuff your genitals into my pure purity
- 39:49Kitty. And she tells the grandkids I
- 39:53was very, very forward. I'm sorry.
- 39:55And then she smirked to the side like a sexed, crazed polygamist.
- 40:02retelling of Janelle's story. I feel like it is accurate.
- 40:06I feel like I got all the details and of importance
- 40:09anything that I missed. No, it was very accurate
- 40:12actually. She tells us that Wynn and his
- 40:16friend had graduated before her,
- 40:20dance. These two grown ass men came to
- 40:23a high school dance. The friend creepily uses Win to
- 40:29do his bidding and ask her out
- 40:33There's nothing creepier as a girl to be told my friend has a
- 40:38crush on you. Creeper vibes so disgusting.
- 40:46So I can see why if she had barely a pic in town she would
- 40:51go for a win over the friend that's creepily asking his
- 40:54friend to do the asking out. I would have done the same.
- 40:58I'd have rather gone for the bold one.
- 41:01The other one's probably a cock.
- 41:02There's something going on there.
- 41:04Oh God, oh God, I can borrow him.
- 41:07The chair. You know I've got a chair.
- 41:09Looking at my bed in my bedroom. I call him as I see him.
- 41:11This is it. I haven't used it with Grandpa
- 41:16It is given the vibes that this small town perhaps is a little
- 41:30people up. And this was before Janelle
- 41:33apparently was a polygamist because reminder when and
- 41:36Janelle become polygamist while Kody is on his mission when he's
- 41:47But to most traditional Mormons or people that are living, you
- 41:54like the others, like the ones we are not like them.
- 41:57So I can't even say that she's got the cult brainwashing.
- 42:00She just has the LDS brainwashing at this point.
- 42:02At the beginning of the story, she talks about how they were
- 42:06never in high school together because when was old enough to
- 42:10So we're talking either 3 or 4 years between them.
- 42:13It's not like she's a senior at the dance and he's 19 and his
- 42:16first year out they're going, you know, I just keep getting
- 42:19older and the girls keep staying the same age.
- 42:21Like that's not happening. Like, she's 3 or 4 years younger
- 42:30moment with the adults on the couch.
- 42:31Janelle shares how you can see the mark that Janelle has left
- 42:42you can see she's going to start crying.
- 42:45So she just doesn't say anything.
- 42:47So she chokes it down. She chokes down her emotions as
- 42:51per usual for her. Just like a win when they are
- 42:56showing him greeting his grandchildren and he is choking
- 42:59as he's trying to say hello to each of them.
- 43:02She's just like her stepdaddy. Stepdaddy father-in-law in that
- 43:08regard. Daddy.
- 43:10Father-in-law choking down those emotions.
- 43:13Yes, they do have some parallels.
- 43:16We'll hear some more later. Stepdaddy father-in-law, which
- 43:22So it's, you know, or just, I don't even know I'm in.
- 43:28The family just keeping it in the family.
- 43:31Keep it together, keep it keep. Keep it together, yes?
- 43:35This could have been a touching moment, but instead she goes oh
- 43:40gosh, literally chokes down the tears and cuts herself off from
- 43:45feeling any sort of emotion whatsoever.
- 43:48So. Stares over to the side.
- 43:50She diverts her eyes from craft service and the charcuterie
- 43:53board and looks over at some sound guy.
- 43:55And cut to commercial. So.
- 43:57And it's funny because anyone who's seen the show before, you
- 44:00know that especially in these early eight seasons, the music
- 44:08very kind of like this lame fade out harpy.
- 44:12We're going to a commercial. This is the TLC show.
- 44:15And it's like, OK, we just watched her choking over her
- 44:17tears. And now it's like after the
- 44:19break, it's like, Oh my God, this is just, it was a weird
- 44:24moment. It was very strange.
- 44:26Yeah. When we return from the
- 44:29commercial break though, the family heads over to Grandma
- 44:31Sheryl's house. A reminder for everyone.
- 44:34Sheryl is Janelle's mom who was married to Kody's dad.
- 44:38She's also Kody's stepmom. She's Meri's brother's ex
- 44:42mother-in-law. So the whatever webs we weave,
- 44:58I'm going. To yeah, when your role is
- 45:01someones mom, someones stepmom, someones mother-in-law, someones
- 45:08tickler. It's just a lot of things.
- 45:11And you know, we actually like Sheryl on this podcast.
- 45:14We're not hating on Sheryl, but she's got a lot of titles here.
- 45:17She's got a lot of titles.
- 45:18Dog groomer. Oh yeah, and caramel maker,
- 45:21she's really good at helping with that caramel.
- 45:23She's not as good as Janelle. Now Janelle has that sweet
- 45:26caramel you just want to pop in your mouth and suck on and save
- 45:30her every every. Maybe that's why Wynn liked her
- 45:33so much, her savory caramels. Sweet, buttery and melty
- 45:36goodness. Robyn's caramel.
- 45:40We all know it's. Dry and flavorless, store
- 45:42bought. Absolutely.
- 45:44Store bought that girl's caramel
- 45:49God. And of course, Janelle has to
- 45:51share the story about how her mom was concerned about Janelle
- 45:54getting too close to these polygamists.
- 45:57So she came to visit Janelle in Wyoming and then she just ended
- 46:00up marrying Wynne. And then Kody chimes in four
- 46:03months later, Janelle and I got married.
- 46:05And it's like, OK, once again,
- 46:08And I'm going, you know, there
- 46:11up pieces to this puzzle. One obvious what the fuck thing
- 46:15is, Janelle used to be married
- 46:19So Meri's family was a polygamist family.
- 46:23This isn't like Janelle was just
- 46:26that is polygamy. No, she was married to someone
- 46:29from a polygamist family, left
- 46:32time with Kody and her ex husband's sister.
- 46:36These people. Like it's not as if Sheryl.
- 46:38This wasn't Sheryl's first exposure to Janelle being
- 46:41exposed exposure exposed flashing a lot of a lot of body
- 46:45parts a lot of places. This isn't Janelle's first.
- 46:48I just, this is not Janelle's first experience with polygamy,
- 46:52and so there's just something that doesn't sit right with this
- 46:55story to me. But I also feel like Janelle's
- 46:57story hasn't changed. It's always been that her mom
- 47:00was trying to prevent her and her family had an intervention
- 47:03with her. We don't want you to become a
- 47:04polygamist, blah, blah, blah. It's like, did any of that
- 47:06happen when she married the guy from the polygamist family the
- 47:09first time? I guess maybe if he didn't have
- 47:11other wives, they just assumed
- 47:14them or something because it's
- 47:16Something doesn't add up. Something doesn't add up.
- 47:19As per usual. I rewound this part a couple of
- 47:23times because it didn't make sense.
- 47:26Kody says that he encouraged Janelle to go to the ranch to
- 47:32spend time with his father because she was always
- 47:34interested in the ranching and
- 47:39So that's how she went there and
- 47:42And then her mom was concerned
- 47:45in Wyoming, so she went to visit
- 47:50Wyoming's a dangerous through his place, got a lot of
- 47:54coyotes there, had to go and check on her well.
- 47:56She maybe wanted to make sure she got out of that teepee.
- 47:59You know, she did try to live in a teepee for a hot minute and
- 48:01that lasted like two or three hours.
- 48:03And then she probably had to go inside with Wynne and Janelle.
- 48:10might end up with Wynne. Interesting.
- 48:11But I she, she knew that Janelle was spending time with Kody and
- 48:15Meri like they that's how, you know, Janelle even was
- 48:18introduced to Wynne and the whole Wyoming thing.
- 48:20So I don't know, but there's definitely something about
- 48:24Wyoming that's very scary for. Sure.
- 48:26A lot of tumbleweeds. I don't know.
- 48:30They're dangerous. They get some winds.
- 48:32There's some windy days for sure there's wind.
- 48:35There's some winds and windy days.
- 48:38I would be concerned too. I'd be going to check out what
- 48:46circumstances that are being told to us are why she was going
- 49:03This is where I get. So that's where I get confused
- 49:13polygamist lifestyle. His parents.
- 49:15I don't know something so weird about it to me.
- 49:18I want to sit down with markers and a dry erase board and figure
- 49:22And do the timeline well because his Kody's parents became
- 49:25polygamous while he was in Mission right out of high
- 49:29school. And then when he returned from
- 49:34the cult. And so he was married to Meri
- 49:37and Janelle was at their wedding while Janelle was married to
- 49:41Meri's brother. So when Janelle started spending
- 49:48Kody's parents were already polygamous.
- 49:50Now Kody's dad has another wife that never appears on the show.
- 49:55So my assumption is when Wynne
- 49:56and Janelle adopted polygamy as their faith and the way they
- 50:00were going to get into the Celestial Kingdom, I'm assuming
- 50:04that probably went hand in hand with recording or selecting or
- 50:08marrying another wife. I mean, that's an assumption on
- 50:11my part. I don't know that they declared
- 50:13to the world that they were polygamist and then waited to
- 50:15get another wife. So maybe Wynn and Janelle
- 50:19already had this other wife. And I think her name's Bobby or
- 50:21Bonnie. We never meet her in the show.
- 50:23She did not want to be a part of
- 50:24That's what's confusing to me.
- 50:27timeline doesn't feel like it adds up for me because in my
- 50:30mind, and we've talked about this before, so I kind of know
- 50:34that there's this other wife out
- 50:38for me to reconcile the timeline
- 50:44Sheryl as the wives. So sorry to people that are
- 50:48really deep into this world and know all of the lore and all of
- 50:53the back story and I've done all
- 50:57to figure it out real time as a first time viewer pretending
- 51:03there is no Google out there or Ask Jeeves.
- 51:06OK. Oh yeah.
- 51:08So it's confusing. They don't lay it out for us.
- 51:11They hide things, they lie. We don't hear about Janelle
- 51:16marrying Meri's brother. So they just do us dirty all the
- 51:21time with the story here. They definitely gloss over the
- 51:25even in this episode she references Kody and Meri as her
- 51:30token polygamist friends and it's like they were not your
- 51:33token polygamist friends. I mean you could call them that,
- 51:35but no, Meri was your sister-in-law.
- 51:37You married her brother and then
- 51:40micro penis. I mean, I don't know why, but
- 51:42allegedly, you know, I mean whatever Janelle, you know,
- 51:45she's like, I can't feel anything.
- 51:46Literally I've got the cushion
- 51:49even in. So I just, they just definitely
- 51:53don't give us the details that
- 51:55pieces together. And people wonder why we're
- 51:58talking about this family and why people are so obsessed with
- 52:01this family because they give us
- 52:04enough. And that just inherently leads
- 52:07to curiosity, doesn't it? You're coming out and you're
- 52:11making this TV shows trying to
- 52:15to understand what's been going on and polygamy and yadda,
- 52:18yadda, but you're not giving the
- 52:21People are having to do deep dives.
- 52:23People are having to go and do
- 52:27sleuth people get into that. So, yeah, it's interesting.
- 52:31Sorry, what of it, You know? Yeah, So I were here.
- 52:36And if we don't know the details, we could either just
- 52:37make them up and say allegedly, or just say we don't know
- 52:40because that's what we could do,
- 52:43While at Sheryl's house, the family starts eating some
- 52:45breakfast and everyone's writing
- 52:49poems to bring to Grandpa Wynn's
- 52:51They're going to go do a little memorial for Grandpa Wynn.
- 52:54They also mentioned that Janelle
- 52:57years and Sheryl and Wynn were
- 53:02past 20 years. So they think that Sheryl is
- 53:06dealing with this in a really different way because she didn't
- 53:10have as much time with the love of her life as Janelle did.
- 53:15So that is mentioned. I don't know how much truth
- 53:20there would be to that. I think regardless of how long
- 53:22you're married to somebody, if
- 53:25it's going to be just as difficult.
- 53:27But what do I know? And Kody tries to tee it up at
- 53:30some comparison bed. Like his mom, Janelle had 50
- 53:32years, and Sheryl only had 20.
- 53:35someone later in life, you're going to want to save her.
- 53:37You're going to want more of that time.
- 53:39You're going to want more because you had less of it.
- 53:41And I'm going. Yeah.
- 53:42But you're also leaving out the detail about how Janelle's son
- 53:45also died months before her husband, which we get to later
- 53:48that Kody thinks his mom's more torn up about Curtis then win,
- 53:53and understandably so. Well, Sheryl didn't just have a
- 53:56child die too. I don't want to say distract,
- 53:58but I have another piece of this
- 54:02status or whatever. And so it's a bit of an
- 54:06assumption made on Kody's part, but I also did think that it
- 54:10kind of made sense. Maybe it was more me, you know,
- 54:13being a narcissist and reflecting on myself and as a 40
- 54:16some year old man going, if the stars collided and there was
- 54:19some natural disaster and some
- 54:21in love with me, then I would have less time with them than if
- 54:25I met them when I was, you know,
- 54:27And they came and creeped on me and, you know, probably
- 54:29sexually assaulted me or whatever the alleged situation
- 54:31was. They're both hard in different
- 54:37you've had someone in your life for 50 years, they're an
- 54:40integral part of your life. It's like your left arm or your
- 54:43right leg. And then there's this feeling,
- 54:53Agreed. And it's just another
- 54:56opportunity for Kody to talk is nonsense, right?
- 54:58Like, I know something and it's like, OK, well, I don't think
- 55:01that you're necessarily right, but it did make me reflect a
- 55:04little bit about the lack of love in my life.
- 55:06But who's here to hear that story?
- 55:08OK. I refuse to keep being spoken to
- 55:13No, no, honey, you have not fulfilled your spiritual and
- 55:20whatever obligation to be at least three or four sister wives
- 55:27I don't know how hard I can keep trying.
- 55:29The way you look right now with your hoodie, I would be like,
- 55:35well, you know, you're going to have to try a little bit.
- 55:38Honey, you show up to our dates looking like that.
- 55:41Pasta and butter stains just on my shirt over here.
- 55:46And around this time we also get A2 camera from Kody where he
- 55:52shares about how his dad was basically a strict
- 55:54disciplinarian when he was younger and that he didn't
- 55:57really feel loved from his dad. Paging Dr. Freud, I wonder why
- 56:06how loving his father was to him as a child, we go to the
- 56:10cemetery to say loving words back to him at his gravesite.
- 56:14This ushers in an opportunity for Meri to share a story about
- 56:18how Wynn was close with her father.
- 56:20And while they're at the gravesite, she shares a little
- 56:26She imagined Wynn and her father up in heaven being bosom buddies
- 56:32to or something like that. And then Janelle shares a story
- 56:37which I loved. I mean, OK, so I loved as much
- 56:43She talks about how her and Wynn used to butt heads all the time
- 56:47and how at the end of every argument she would tell them to
- 56:50go to hell and he would respond.
- 56:52I'll see you there. And I love that.
- 56:54It's so good. I love that dynamic.
- 56:56I'm wondering how playful their arguments were, how often they
- 57:00were real arguments or it even I
- 57:05imagining arguments because of their swallow it down
- 57:08situations with the emotions. You know, I, I don't know.
- 57:11What did you think? I think Janelle acted like a
- 57:13dude around him and he was very uncomfortable with it.
- 57:17Kody even says that his father
- 57:21is just very independent and the
- 57:25have liked in a woman essentially.
- 57:28So I think Janelle came across
- 57:35would shoot the shit with her more than his own wife's even
- 57:39wives even. I think they might have had a
- 57:44bond like father son type of bond but also a love hate
- 57:51relationship because when probably grappled with the fact
- 57:55that she acted the way that she acted.
- 57:58Yeah, like of the wives that we are familiar with on the show
- 58:01and all of the moms and all of
- 58:04definitely the one that's least likely to keep sweet.
- 58:07Obviously not raised in the cult
- 58:09And I can see that they probably
- 58:12their Dick and seeing who's was bigger and obviously Janelle's
- 58:14was. So you know, when was probably
- 58:16like go to hell and she said I'll see you there or the other
- 58:19way, you know, whatever. I can totally see that.
- 58:22And when Kody uses the word patriarchal, I just go like
- 58:26gross. I just I'm so tired of hearing
- 58:29patriarch and patriarchal on this show and it doesn't stop.
- 58:31It goes for the entire length of
- 58:34It sucks to be a woman in that
- 58:36It feels very. I'm working in a male dominated
- 58:40field, so I have to act like one
- 58:46group or to have them respect me.
- 58:48I think that is the vibe that I'm getting from their
- 58:52relationship. Yeah, to to have respect from
- 58:55him. She had to act a certain manly
- 59:01type of way to garner respect as
- 59:06a woman. The lack of respect for women is
- 59:10what it comes down to, I think.
- 59:12I don't know how to explain it. A lot of women will understand
- 59:28yourself for and kind of went ha ha ha, like one of the guys.
- 59:32I think that's what Janelle did with Kody's dad.
- 59:35It's very strange feeling and Janelle's just really good at
- 59:40shoving things down and putting on a front, so it doesn't
- 59:44surprise me that that's the relationship she had with his
- 59:47father. Most of our listeners, this is
- 59:51I think there's probably a handful of men and I would
- 59:54garner that at least half of them are faggots.
- 59:57And they also would understand the whole idea of being treated
- 1:00:01differently because you are effeminate or like a woman.
- 1:00:04And that's why I totally even though I am a leader in the
- 1:00:06manosphere. Have a huge alignment with
- 1:00:09feminism and with the way that women feel in situations.
- 1:00:12Because I have been in a very similar situation where I am
- 1:00:16treated different and I have had to acclimate or change things
- 1:00:20about myself and environment so that I can be treated better or
- 1:00:23on the same page, the same plane, the same level.
- 1:00:26Wind probably would have been part of the manosphere for sure.
- 1:00:32I'll of the dead, but probably
- 1:00:36I don't he wouldn't have been able to figure out how to use
- 1:00:38his phone though. I don't think he was much of A
- 1:00:39thinker, but you know, maybe. One of the OG members back in
- 1:00:43the day. Yeah, I, I've said this before,
- 1:00:48I'll say it again. Women, if your man is homophobe,
- 1:00:55he hates you. He hates you too, because what
- 1:00:57he hates about homos is that they're effeminate.
- 1:00:59So he hates you? And if he doesn't hate faggots
- 1:01:01because they're like women in the sense that they're
- 1:01:04effeminate, he hates them because they think about sex in
- 1:01:07the same way that men do. And men know how they think
- 1:01:10about sex and they know how they
- 1:01:13want to have sex with. And if they want have sex with
- 1:01:15women, they think less of them.
- 1:01:16So that gay men must think the same way about me.
- 1:01:19And it's like, you are just so damaged.
- 1:01:20You are so insecure. You have so many issues like Oh
- 1:01:23my God. No excuses for people like that.
- 1:01:29No, heaven forbid you respect someone you're having sex with.
- 1:01:32Like, Oh my God, OK, we are going to go.
- 1:01:34We are going to go off on too many tangents.
- 1:01:36Here, I mean, disrespect me all you want in the bedroom when
- 1:01:38certain there's a certain time
- 1:01:42Yes, save your disrespect for the bedroom where it belongs.
- 1:01:45Oh boy. And then Kody shares a story
- 1:01:48about getting coveralls as a gift from his dad.
- 1:01:51Here's a lot of detail here. I don't really care about the
- 1:01:53details. But he wanted a letter jacket
- 1:01:56because he was in sports. And, you know, he's a wrestling
- 1:01:58guy. He lettered in wrestling.
- 1:01:59Well, he was a state champion in
- 1:02:01I can't believe he didn't let.
- 1:02:03detail, which I remembered. And he was hoping to get a
- 1:02:06letter jacket. And he got a gift from his dad.
- 1:02:08When he opened the box, it was
- 1:02:10And he was, you know, so disappointed because, you know,
- 1:02:13I can imagine why doesn't my father know what I want?
- 1:02:15And he doesn't love me. And then after his dad passed,
- 1:02:18he's like, oh, he must have thought about how many times I
- 1:02:21bitched and complained about being cold up in Montana doing,
- 1:02:24you know, hours and hours of manual labor outside.
- 1:02:26And it's like, OK, so now you're
- 1:02:31gift in your own brain of how he was thoughtful about you.
- 1:02:34And I'm going, I don't even really think that that that's
- 1:02:37probably the case, right? Did you think it was the case?
- 1:02:41I don't buy it for a second. Kody says that from 8 years old
- 1:02:46on, he just remembers being cold
- 1:02:51out in negative degree weather and complaining about being
- 1:02:55cold. So from 8:00 until the time that
- 1:03:12Letterman jackets were sold at. So he had thought it was a
- 1:03:15Letterman jacket and it was these coveralls.
- 1:03:16And now he's trying to reconcile it in his brain by being like,
- 1:03:23me warm and it was his way of showing me he loved me.
- 1:03:28Bullshit, bullshit. Bullshit.
- 1:03:30You're trying to justify his shitty behavior and not
- 1:03:34listening to you and imposing his will on you.
- 1:03:37And I get it, it's mental gymnastics.
- 1:03:40It's a way of protecting yourself.
- 1:03:42Yeah. But why not just be honest with
- 1:03:46yourself at this point in your life?
- 1:03:48I know it's hard to do that, you know, to acknowledge or be OK
- 1:03:53with your parent being an unsupportive asshole and kind of
- 1:04:01That's hard. So it just did feel like it was
- 1:04:06a rewriting of history, particularly from the
- 1:04:08perspective of someone who's evaluating like, oh, after my
- 1:04:10father died, I put these pieces together.
- 1:04:12It's like, OK, like you said, it's some gymnastics.
- 1:04:14He was definitely on the balance beam and the uneven bars he was
- 1:04:18doing. He was tumbling on the mats.
- 1:04:19He was all over. My personal favorite part of
- 1:04:22Kody's little spiel about his dad at the gravesite was about
- 1:04:39And I thought, wow, how romantic.
- 1:04:41It's like love, true love. And I need to take this moment
- 1:04:52Janelle looks how Robyn's going to look in 20 years.
- 1:04:56So this is very important when they show flashback photos to
- 1:05:01Janelle and Wynne doing whatever.
- 1:05:03Back at the time when Janelle was younger and had dark brown
- 1:05:11For real, she looks like Robyn. So now Kody is talking about his
- 1:05:20with that Peach fuzz all over her face.
- 1:05:23And he's doing the same thing to her at this grave site.
- 1:05:27Like, oh, my mom, my beautiful mother.
- 1:05:29And it's like, I just got, I don't even know.
- 1:05:33I just was imagining doing that to my mom.
- 1:05:35And I'm like, Oh my God, I don't.
- 1:05:38It would never. I would never.
- 1:05:40It would never even cross my mind.
- 1:05:41So he's holding his letter in one hand that he's reading that
- 1:05:44he had written to his father, and he reaches out with his
- 1:05:49other hand and gently caresses his mom's face from the cheek
- 1:05:54down to the chin while holding the letter he's reading.
- 1:05:59It's very performative. It's very Kody coded.
- 1:06:04Putting on a show, putting on the rips like, oh, at the
- 1:06:09gravesite here, just putting on a show.
- 1:06:12It's gross. At least this time she wasn't
- 1:06:16eating a breakfast burrito, and he hovered over her from the
- 1:06:18back and took it and ate it himself.
- 1:06:20Being like what's my mom's is mine like God, you are just so
- 1:06:26Kody. It's just it all makes so much
- 1:06:30know, for he. Didn't turn and like nibble his
- 1:06:33finger delicately or anything so I was I takes his finger and
- 1:06:37puts it in. She takes his finger and puts it
- 1:06:45and Aurora's at the knees laughing like a dog.
- 1:06:50Oh God, this family is so messed up.
- 1:06:53Unlike us. Unlike us.
- 1:06:57Oh my God. So after we're blessed with the
- 1:07:04footage of Kody caressing his mother's face and touching her
- 1:07:16beautiful downtown Powell, WY. They're going to pop in and
- 1:07:20visit some former employers of Meri's.
- 1:07:22Oh, now, to be fair, I didn't give a fuck about any of this.
- 1:07:31Let's go medium on the details for this.
- 1:07:33OK? Like Meri's.
- 1:07:34Yeah. Meri's old employers.
- 1:07:36We're going to hang out with them for a minute.
- 1:07:39Take it away honey. I really teach you up for
- 1:07:44success on that. One, this was discussed in the
- 1:07:52book, they talk about John and Terry a little bit and they are
- 1:07:58Meri's old employers. We're going to meet them at her
- 1:08:01old place of employment, I guess, right?
- 1:08:03Yeah, Yeah, I think so. So Meri never told them that she
- 1:08:12them on this trip with everybody along.
- 1:08:15She was like, this is going to be weird.
- 1:08:17I never came out to them, and now I'm coming out to them after
- 1:08:22She had her hands in the air and she really could care.
- 1:08:27Such a cord. Yeah, she was very anxious to go
- 1:08:35We always wondered when you were going to tell us, Terry says
- 1:08:40that she was on a sales call one time with a customer and that
- 1:08:45the customer basically outed Meri to her and said, well, you
- 1:08:50know that Meri is a polygamist. And Terry says to this person,
- 1:09:06Terry was a kind human being and
- 1:09:11even though she apparently did.
- 1:09:13Meri told them that Christine was just a friend, and this got
- 1:09:19a little bit hairy when Christine was pregnant.
- 1:09:23So there comes a time when Terry saw Christine during a pregnancy
- 1:09:33come clean. She says oh who is that to you?
- 1:09:36And married says well that's
- 1:09:38just a friend of mine, just a friend of mine.
- 1:09:41Christine chimes in here and tells us how she felt during
- 1:09:43this time. Christine says that it was
- 1:09:46humiliating being pregnant and
- 1:09:49her marriage with Kody and be seen in town.
- 1:09:54She says that it was freeing once they got to be out as
- 1:09:57married because this time in her
- 1:10:04Her employer gave her an opportunity to be honest in a
- 1:10:07kind way, and she basically snubbed her relationship with
- 1:10:13Christine. I don't know what would you
- 1:10:17think at this moment if you'd been working for these people
- 1:10:20for so long and thought that they were caring and kind
- 1:10:23people? Kody claims that he was telling
- 1:10:26her for years to come out to them and that she just never
- 1:10:30did. Do you think it was out of
- 1:10:32selfishness on Meri's part that she just didn't want it to be
- 1:10:35about that and she liked that they liked her for her and she
- 1:10:41kind of was being selfish about her relationship with them?
- 1:10:45I don't know. I kind of felt like that was the
- 1:10:48case. When it comes to this family and
- 1:10:51the lying, I find myself at a loss.
- 1:10:56I was only in the closet myself as a homosexual for so long and
- 1:11:02didn't have the drive to lie to people about my life.
- 1:11:06So I have a little lack of empathy for them with all of
- 1:11:09this. And I kind of felt that Kody
- 1:11:11talking about how he wanted Meri
- 1:11:14little bit of the faux bravery
- 1:11:17like, well, I wanted us to be pure and true and honest and,
- 1:11:20and for some reason, Meri didn't
- 1:11:22And it's like, yeah, right, whatever.
- 1:11:24Not sure that I really believed that.
- 1:11:27I just, I don't know, it's just a bunch of lying and I kind of
- 1:11:31don't care because you're going around lying about your life
- 1:11:33and I, you know, OK. They couldn't be open and
- 1:11:36honest. I don't know.
- 1:11:38It sounds like Meri probably could have been with these
- 1:11:39people. So I just, I don't, I don't, I
- 1:11:42have a lack of care, I guess. I'm not buying it.
- 1:11:45I think my biggest take away from the whole, oh, we're going
- 1:11:49to meet her ex employers is that
- 1:11:54opportunity to be open and honest because they really
- 1:11:56loved her, right? They, they say how excited they
- 1:11:59are to see her again and they're welcoming her back with
- 1:12:03open arms and they kind of laugh about the whole situation.
- 1:12:09you going to finally come out and say it to us now?
- 1:12:12You're going to finally come out
- 1:12:15marry jokes and goes, hey, just so you know, guys, I'm a
- 1:12:20polygamist. And they all laugh and cackle
- 1:12:22about it. It's dismissive of what
- 1:12:25Christine says about being humiliated and walking through
- 1:12:41And I think Terry seems very understanding.
- 1:12:44I think Terry seems to be getting where Christine's coming
- 1:12:55imagine being pregnant and walking down the street and
- 1:12:58being concerned that people would know who the father of
- 1:13:02your child is. But I would assume most people
- 1:13:10because she can't acknowledge her relationship with Kody
- 1:13:13publicly. There's like a scarlet letter
- 1:13:16thing or like unwed mother vibe thing.
- 1:13:18So there's multiple things having to do with Christine.
- 1:13:20However, this scene was really teed up as this thing with Meri
- 1:13:24and her employers and they just kind of throw in this Christine
- 1:13:28tidbit because it's related because of their lying.
- 1:13:32I mean, I just. They were trying to make light
- 1:13:39whole time. Then we get a heavy thing and
- 1:13:42they gloss over it as they usually do.
- 1:13:45This is just another way of them undermining somebody else's
- 1:13:49feelings. And I hate to say this, and I
- 1:13:51know a lot of people get upset because Christine looks like the
- 1:14:00instance like this. It's upsetting for me on behalf
- 1:14:03of her. I can't imagine feeling like
- 1:14:07you're in this consensual relationship, yet you have the
- 1:14:17in society based on the role you are and the number of wife
- 1:14:23that you are that you have to hide it.
- 1:14:25And Meri gets to be public and do whatever.
- 1:14:28She doesn't say that she's a polygamist, but she gets to live
- 1:14:33this is so privileged of her. And I think that the reason she
- 1:14:36doesn't come out, even though these people probably would have
- 1:14:42They like her. If she admits who she is, then
- 1:14:47And they might like Christine more than her, or Janelle more
- 1:14:52Like gatekeeping? So I feel like it's her
- 1:14:54protecting a position of power within the family and within her
- 1:15:01Because I think Terry would have extended the olive branch to
- 1:15:04Christine in this situation, and I don't think Meri wanted that.
- 1:15:08Yeah, OK, I can see she.
- 1:15:10Wanted Christine to be isolated.
- 1:15:13It seems manipulative looking back at the situation now and
- 1:15:18then how they also gas like Christina again when she's
- 1:15:21trying to talk about how she felt at the time.
- 1:15:24I don't know. And tell me if this is a
- 1:15:28question too far and if you don't want to share, but have
- 1:15:31you ever been in a relationship where you had to be a secret
- 1:15:34where somebody wasn't out with their family?
- 1:15:36I love because you always, I should say, you always you tee
- 1:15:41have you been in this situation?
- 1:15:44And I'm always so unhelpful because I'm like, no, I've never
- 1:15:46experienced that. And I just feel like such a dud
- 1:15:49because I'm like, no, I don't have an interesting story about
- 1:15:52that. No, no, no.
- 1:15:53Well, while this scene was one
- 1:15:58trying to be light hearted and
- 1:16:02outing herself now years later
- 1:16:10example of them making light of a serious situation.
- 1:16:16So the only conclusion, the only
- 1:16:19attention to the scene as I did is because of Christine's
- 1:16:23feelings that were glossed over.
- 1:16:25So that's kind of all there is to take from the scene is that
- 1:16:31funny and OK when they really weren't.
- 1:16:34Well, and while we're on the merry train, she has planned a
- 1:16:41they used to live in in Montana 12 years ago.
- 1:16:45They put their hands in some wet cement while it was poured.
- 1:16:48And you know, we're all familiar with the whole thing.
- 1:16:51You put your hands in the cement, you write your names,
- 1:16:52blah, blah, blah. A lot of families do it.
- 1:16:54A lot of people do it different places.
- 1:16:56We've all if you're not familiar with it, my God Google putting
- 1:17:02you turn. Yourself around, that's what.
- 1:17:04It's all about. Oh my gosh, so 12 years ago they
- 1:17:09Christine, I just have such a hard time empathizing with these
- 1:17:19and all the adults. It was so brave.
- 1:17:22And I'm like, bitch, OK, hold on, hold on record, scratch.
- 1:17:25I don't fucking buy this for a second.
- 1:17:27First of all, you said that you put your hands and cement behind
- 1:17:35You're hiding your handprints from people.
- 1:17:37Also, if I saw a bunch of adults and kids handprints and cement,
- 1:17:42I wouldn't think anything negative.
- 1:17:43I would just think there's a bunch of handprints because
- 1:17:46whoever built this house or whoever put in the concrete, you
- 1:17:51I wouldn't go. How many children prints are
- 1:17:53there? How many adults?
- 1:17:54These people must have been polygamous or how brave of them
- 1:17:57to do this. I mean, it's just a bunch of
- 1:17:59shit. It's a crackpot nonsense.
- 1:18:01I just, I just feel like she's trying to congratulate them for
- 1:18:04being so brave and she says it was their first step in their
- 1:18:08coming out process. I'm like, bitch, you were hiding
- 1:18:19And you said don't pay attention to our handprints unless you
- 1:18:22want to know about us. I mean, it's just fucking
- 1:18:25stupid. I just, this whole thing, it was
- 1:18:29She just has this magical way of thinking of trying to like spin
- 1:18:33a story, just like Kody tried to spin the story of his dad
- 1:18:37with the overalls. She says that this is the first
- 1:18:40time that they made a mark of their polygamist family on the
- 1:18:48Yeah, fairy thinking. Yeah, well, don't bring in the
- 1:18:53they're real. And you aren't stating the
- 1:18:55accurate facts here about fairies.
- 1:18:57We don't want upset anybody. I'm very accurate about my fairy
- 1:19:02They are very real and this is a whatever I'm willing to die on.
- 1:19:07Oh, I'm a hill I'm willing to
- 1:19:09die on. Whatever The thing is where you
- 1:19:10die about fairies, that's what
- 1:19:13they're very real, that. Was my serious voice.
- 1:19:15I'm so serious about how I feel about fairies.
- 1:19:18I'm serious and I know I'm being
- 1:19:21about fairies and how very real they are.
- 1:19:25Oh my God, I swear this podcast brings some of the weirdest
- 1:19:29people out of the woodwork. I'm telling you, Oh my God.
- 1:19:32Not us though. I mean, we're totally normal.
- 1:19:34And why would you? Only a normal person would start
- 1:19:37a podcast about sister wives and
- 1:19:41it and talk about it like only a
- 1:19:44So, you know, keep that in mind.
- 1:19:46I want people out there to realize that my ADD ass, while I
- 1:19:53down many, many rabbit holes and I know a lot of weird
- 1:19:56fucking facts. There are a lot of people with
- 1:19:59ADD that know really, really weird things, niche things.
- 1:20:03So you might come for me on something thinking I know
- 1:20:06nothing when I really know way
- 1:20:11normal person to know. Because that's what ADD does to
- 1:20:15you. You go down these rabbit holes
- 1:20:18and you get weird knowledge and.
- 1:20:21Are we calling it knowledge? Are we calling the facts about
- 1:20:28I just, you know, I'm going to give it to you, honey.
- 1:20:32There's a lot of facts to know the truth about fairies and and
- 1:20:35we should become a we should become a legitimate source about
- 1:20:42This is why the people just need to ask for it and we'll give it
- 1:20:46to you. Please don't you want to hear us
- 1:20:52I'm ready. I know so many.
- 1:20:55Things. Oh God, please help me.
- 1:20:57Please help me. Just ask me.
- 1:21:00I do. I know so many things, Oh my
- 1:21:04God. I didn't happen to notice any
- 1:21:07fairy handprints or wing imprints on the cement.
- 1:21:10So, you know, Christine is a liar and a fraud.
- 1:21:13And you can take that to the bank where the fairies have bank
- 1:21:18My God. OK, We got to move on.
- 1:21:20We got to move on from the fairies.
- 1:21:21The Brown family all ventures off to some field in the middle
- 1:21:25of nowhere. I think it's probably on the
- 1:21:29ranch, right? I mean, I Lovell.
- 1:21:31Wyoming that. Again.
- 1:21:32Oh yeah, Lovell, yes. But let's call it the valve.
- 1:21:35I know. Yes, this is it, Kody starts
- 1:21:39telling us some more back story about he and his brother's
- 1:21:42upbringing. Curtis was the 7th of 10
- 1:21:45children in Kody's family. Another reminder that these
- 1:21:47people have huge families and all of the children were given
- 1:22:00all familiar with, and we all feel bad for her because of the
- 1:22:02pain and that she had to endure eating Janelle's sushi rolls.
- 1:22:07Indigestion. Oh yeah, the digestive, the food
- 1:22:11poisoning, pour, bowel movement.
- 1:22:12You know, it's funny because we are Erica fans.
- 1:22:16Well, I can't speak for you, Kimber, but I am an Erica fan
- 1:22:18and I'm a. Huge Erica fan.
- 1:22:19See, this is it. We like Erica and when she comes
- 1:22:26and lovely and wonderful. So like, and what I mean by
- 1:22:30redeeming is I default to redeeming because of the family
- 1:22:32we're talking about. Like as if she needs redemption.
- 1:22:35We like Erica. Erica is salt of the earth.
- 1:22:38Unlike some of these people. Curtis married Erica when they
- 1:22:42were young and he lived his life
- 1:22:46As we all know by this point, he
- 1:22:50Christian. Whatever, he did not follow
- 1:22:52their crazy ass path into the Celestial Kingdom.
- 1:22:56They reiterate that when he got married outside of the Faith,
- 1:23:00it was very, very hard for Wynne
- 1:23:06him due to the fact that, oh, he had this cowboy lifestyle and
- 1:23:11they just were Hardy, hard, hard boys together.
- 1:23:14So a little shocking that Kody, his out-of-the-box child, is
- 1:23:22the one that's living the lifestyle and the one that he
- 1:23:27related to most. Curtis diverged from the Faith,
- 1:23:32so kind of broke their dad's heart a little bit and separated
- 1:23:37the bond that Curtis and his father had.
- 1:23:39Kody was prancing around the little fruity theater kid
- 1:23:43wearing his singlet, wrestling
- 1:23:47touching and expressing himself in many different ways.
- 1:23:50And he's the one that ended up
- 1:23:53polygamists. Remember Kody's other brother
- 1:23:55who looked much older than him
- 1:23:58came to visit and he was also a he's?
- 1:24:00One of the oldest brothers, yeah, Meri, hands out bandanas
- 1:24:05to all of the children, and each
- 1:24:09of the bandanas to a fence post in honor of Curtis.
- 1:24:13Of course, Curtis wore bandanas.
- 1:24:15He was a biker. So they take the bandanas, they
- 1:24:19tie them on the fence post along with their well wishes to
- 1:24:22Curtis and in honor of Curtis. Which was cute.
- 1:24:26Yet again, I'm reminded that it's only been four months since
- 1:24:32I had nothing to make fun of with the bandanas and the whole
- 1:24:36fence bit. They even played some sappy
- 1:24:37music and I had a little bit of a feeling inside of this empty
- 1:24:44And I even had a little bit of feeling when Kody was having a
- 1:24:51should have gone to visit his brother before he passed.
- 1:24:54And now he feels peace for Curtis after his passing.
- 1:24:58But it's sad for himself, and it's sad for Erica and for their
- 1:25:04Kody started by saying that he was sad for himself.
- 1:25:06And then he had a pause and then kind of realized, oh, yeah.
- 1:25:09And Erica and their family, which made me go, of course,
- 1:25:12Kody Brown, like, yeah, whatever.
- 1:25:13But I did, you know, it was one of those things in the recent
- 1:25:17episodes, we've had these kind of, you know, we're not supposed
- 1:25:22Like we're supposed to remember the things that matter after
- 1:25:25these dramatic times. And Kody is having a reflective
- 1:25:29moment here, recognizing that he had thoughts about going to
- 1:25:35And I think we've all had those moments and we're fortunate when
- 1:25:41longer being here and not having the opportunity.
- 1:25:43But of course, we all have those thoughts.
- 1:25:46And then regularly, we probably don't.
- 1:25:49I'm speaking for everyone and I probably shouldn't be, but I
- 1:25:51know I don't drop everything and go visit my siblings when I
- 1:25:54think of them and. I think it comes down to even
- 1:25:59just sending that text or sending that thing to somebody
- 1:26:11too, actually. Like I don't mean to interrupt,
- 1:26:14but that is a really good suggestion for people is when
- 1:26:17you are thinking about seeing someone or pulling a lever that
- 1:26:20at the moment feels like, oh, I just can't, I'm too busy or I
- 1:26:24obligated and whatever. A simple communication can mean
- 1:26:27a lot and it's a touch point. So I think that's a good
- 1:26:31reminder. The best friends are the ones
- 1:26:34that you can go months without speaking to and pick up right
- 1:26:38where you left off right. I think we all feel very guilty
- 1:26:43for relationships where we don't reach out enough and those
- 1:26:50Hey I've been thinking about you.
- 1:26:51Would love to connect soon whenever we both have time.
- 1:26:55It can mean a lot if something
- 1:26:59You know, if I think of something late at night, I'll
- 1:27:02set an alarm on my phone for the
- 1:27:05Hey, text so and so you haven't texted him in a while.
- 1:27:08And at like 2:00 the next day and my phone will go off and say
- 1:27:11text so and so. And I'll do it because I went
- 1:27:17through a very, very hard time
- 1:27:21weren't in a great spot in our
- 1:27:24And it's a sickening feeling, you know, to feel like you
- 1:27:29didn't have the best connection when they left the earth.
- 1:27:34And when Kody talks about himself and how he feels bad
- 1:27:41when he thinks of himself and how he won't speak to Curtis
- 1:27:43again in this lifetime. I actually didn't think it was
- 1:27:48selfish of Kody. I really related to it because
- 1:27:55you do think of yourself when you lose someone you love.
- 1:27:58Of course you're thinking of yourself and how much you miss
- 1:28:00them. He did bring it back to Erica
- 1:28:03and how she's probably missing
- 1:28:07everyone else. And I am not going to lie, I
- 1:28:10lost it at this point in the episode and I paused it.
- 1:28:16I had to like turn the episode
- 1:28:18I got really, really choked up
- 1:28:23torn him to shreds and been like, oh, yeah, of course you
- 1:28:26thought of yourself and how much
- 1:28:28now. But it's also OK to be selfish
- 1:28:39loss to somebody else's. And to be in your own loss and
- 1:28:46And it's only been four months since he lost his brother.
- 1:28:50So as I would usually just, like, tear him a new asshole, I
- 1:28:56completely related to him during this.
- 1:28:57And I had to take a pause. This episode took me a very long
- 1:29:04I just related to Kody a lot. And this was this was one of the
- 1:29:11Yeah, Yeah. One of the other things that
- 1:29:15Kody talks about in this reflection period is realizing
- 1:29:27But it's relationships with the people that you love that is the
- 1:29:38Kody leaves us in another prayer, and during the prayer
- 1:29:42they start playing some cheap rendition of Amazing Grace.
- 1:29:48Yes, yes. And then of course, I lost it
- 1:29:51again because Amazing Grace is one of those songs that just
- 1:29:55brings me to my knees. It's one of those religious
- 1:30:00songs, Carrie Underwood's version of, well, something in
- 1:30:06playing over the song at the end, a ball.
- 1:30:08Like every time that I hear it. I love that song so much.
- 1:30:12If you have not heard something in the water, at the very end
- 1:30:16when she starts singing Amazing Grace over her own song, it
- 1:30:20takes me to another realm. It makes me feel like I'm
- 1:30:24transcending. It's crazy.
- 1:30:25So of course they had some cheap ass version of Amazing Grace
- 1:30:30playing. And Kody tells us that he
- 1:30:34believes that Curtis had a different spiritual calling and
- 1:30:37he does not know why God gave them each a different message,
- 1:30:49the entire episode for me. And I wish that more people
- 1:30:54could think this way. I wish that more people could
- 1:30:59understand that everybody has a different calling in this life.
- 1:31:02It doesn't matter what religion,
- 1:31:03it doesn't matter what place you
- 1:31:07you come from, where you're going.
- 1:31:09We all have a different path. We all are here for a different
- 1:31:13purpose, and we have to just be totally OK with that.
- 1:31:19This is probably the moment in
- 1:31:26could not agree more with Kody.
- 1:31:28And there are moments like this where he says things like this
- 1:31:44fed by the machine that is reality TV.
- 1:31:47And then I get very confused about my feelings about him
- 1:31:53because him saying that Curtis had a different spiritual
- 1:31:57calling. He doesn't know why God gave
- 1:32:00them each a different message, but he's fine with it.
- 1:32:03It blew my mind. Well.
- 1:32:06For a Kody message. I was going to say you've got a
- 1:32:09soft spot for Kody and hopefully it's not on your
- 1:32:12cranium, but you know, it's understandable because he does
- 1:32:15have these moments. I mean, I've had moments with
- 1:32:17him too in the show where I'm going, man, like I feel that.
- 1:32:21I get that. I think that that's true and
- 1:32:24right. And you know, like has, yeah,
- 1:32:26it's tough to talk about with Kody because we're usually.
- 1:32:30People with these like, dogmatic ideas of religion don't say
- 1:32:35things like this, which is part of the reason that this family
- 1:32:44again. This was a deep episode for me.
- 1:32:46There was a lot of random stuff
- 1:32:49touched on that reminded me why people are so fascinated with
- 1:32:54the Mormon religion in general
- 1:33:00There's something more here. And was he corrupted by this TV
- 1:33:04show? Was he corrupted by the
- 1:33:05lifestyle? Was he corrupted by Rob?
- 1:33:07And has he always been a narcissist?
- 1:33:10I don't know, but we're all asking each other and ourselves.
- 1:33:16What we do, you know we're what is the word?
- 1:33:20When you're not biased, we are.
- 1:33:23Unbiased. Oh yes, we are a very unbiased
- 1:33:29all angles, of course, and everyone always says that about
- 1:33:32us. We are well-intentioned.
- 1:33:33We give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and particularly Kody
- 1:33:39to hear this from you, honey. It makes sense.
- 1:33:41It makes sense. Well, because you haven't had
- 1:33:44enough Kody in your life. Don't worry honey, we're going
- 1:33:50After a commercial break, we see him venturing into his mom's
- 1:33:54house alone. They're outside doing whatever
- 1:33:59whatever you do on the ranch. And he decides to go in and warm
- 1:34:05She's sitting on the couch looking at photos.
- 1:34:08She's got a photo of win or something.
- 1:34:10She knows she wants to give him, She wants to show him, but she
- 1:34:13She doesn't know where it is. And it's like, yeah, we've all
- 1:34:23And Kody's like, right. And I'm like, oh, God, 70 ought
- 1:34:28children. I love 70 ought.
- 1:34:30You know, people do tend to have more grandchildren than
- 1:34:33children. So, you know, OK, the number can
- 1:34:39I wonder if she just doesn't know the exact numbers.
- 1:34:43So she says 70 aught. Maybe it's hard to keep track
- 1:34:46after your past 30 or 40 grandchildren.
- 1:34:48I, you know, once again, I, I've never experienced that.
- 1:34:52They have 11 kids her and when right 11.
- 1:34:56I mean, Kody did say that Curtis was 7 of 10, but I don't, you
- 1:35:00know, I don't know. I don't know if he was included
- 1:35:02in that. Gosh, I don't know if it.
- 1:35:04Matters. It's crazy when you think of
- 1:35:06their family tree. The tree of life.
- 1:35:11Kody offers to her the Tree of Life.
- 1:35:14Oh yeah. Lot of roots in that tree.
- 1:35:17The Criss crossing branches that are broken in the hanging and
- 1:35:22warped and. Yeah, whatever the.
- 1:35:25Most growing up. Crazy looking tree is that grows
- 1:35:33Kody offers to her that she can come and stay in Vegas with
- 1:35:37them for as long as she wants if she needs to get away for a
- 1:35:39little while, and she declines.
- 1:35:42She says that she's been reading Curtis's poetry and really
- 1:35:47missing him a lot. Yeah, it's made her melancholy.
- 1:35:50Oh.
- 1:35:50Melancholy. It's one of my favorite words.
- 1:35:53I get melancholy every fall. I do seasonal depression.
- 1:36:03Kody says that it seems like she's struggling with losing
- 1:36:06Curtis more than losing his dad.
- 1:36:09We mentioned this earlier. Kody's belief is that it's
- 1:36:14because you never expect to outlive your own child.
- 1:36:18And I started crying again. The thought of losing your own
- 1:36:31I'm 35 years old. I'm going to come out and I'm
- 1:36:34going to say it. My husband's 10 years older than
- 1:36:41that means for us down the line. But if you were to give me a
- 1:36:48ultimatum today, if I had to pick my children over my
- 1:36:53husband, 1000 * / I would pick my children.
- 1:36:55Oh. My God, I can't.
- 1:36:57We can. Play this.
- 1:36:58For him on repeat. I'm not going to play it for him
- 1:37:03Any? Mother, any mother would say
- 1:37:05this. So this is the point.
- 1:37:07This is the point where I kind of understood where Sheryl
- 1:37:12versus Janelle in the missing of Win scenario is, I get, I get
- 1:37:20it, you know, because Sheryl never had children with WIN,
- 1:37:25right? No, I don't think so.
- 1:37:27I don't think so. So there's also another part of
- 1:37:30Sheryl that maybe mourns the loss of ever being able to and
- 1:37:38So there are dynamics at play here.
- 1:37:42There really are. But I believe any mother would
- 1:37:50child and your children really are truly the loves of your
- 1:37:53life. So.
- 1:37:55Yeah, Janelle, I'm. Getting deep and disgusting.
- 1:38:00Janelle tells Kody that she just can't seem to get over losing
- 1:38:07Curtis. That's very understandable.
- 1:38:10Kody tells a story about how after his dad's funeral, they
- 1:38:16got back to the property and his mother's property and his
- 1:38:21father's property and the horses were just going crazy.
- 1:38:25The horses couldn't be calmed down.
- 1:38:27They were running around and running wild.
- 1:38:29And Kody believes that it was his dad and Curtis that were
- 1:38:34setting the horses off and making them run wild because his
- 1:38:40And it was a message that they were there and that they were
- 1:38:43still on the ranch. And the horses were usually
- 1:38:47calm. But the day of his father's
- 1:38:49funeral, they weren't. And I think that there are
- 1:38:53things like that that we say to comfort ourselves.
- 1:38:57And I think that there's also some truth to it, depending on
- 1:39:03And I think Kody actually said it was after both Curtis and
- 1:39:06Wynn's death that he noticed this.
- 1:39:08So it wasn't just after his dad's death, it was both of
- 1:39:11them. And so it was even more
- 1:39:12impactful to him that it was a pattern.
- 1:39:15Yeah. After Kody shares the story, the
- 1:39:23And Sheryl and Janelle talk about attending church and going
- 1:39:29know, they're using as an example to talk about the Sister
- 1:39:33Wives connection even after Wynne had passed.
- 1:39:35And there's an interesting connection with that for us with
- 1:39:41You know, Kody, when they went to the marriage counseling and
- 1:39:51passing, they are not still sister wives and together.
- 1:39:54So this is an interesting juxtaposed story where they have
- 1:40:02after Wynn's passing. I kind of picked up that they
- 1:40:05might have shared. All the examples that they have
- 1:40:09to a certain extent. I mean, I don't want to tear it
- 1:40:11apart. I know we're hot off the heels
- 1:40:15yeah, they go to church and they went to a movie.
- 1:40:18And that might be, you know, I'm not so sure that they do much
- 1:40:22more than that. But also they don't give us a
- 1:40:24reason to not believe it. I just, I find everything about
- 1:40:26this family suspect. So I'm kind of going, OK, we'll
- 1:40:29see how often they're actually together.
- 1:40:31We won't see. I don't think we will see.
- 1:40:34I think you're being cynical. I think you're being very
- 1:40:36cynical Here. We get a couch interview where
- 1:40:47good bond and how they still have family because they have
- 1:40:51their sister wife. I ragged a lot on them during
- 1:40:57the mother in law's mother-in-law episode because
- 1:41:01they were so emotional that obviously to me, there's still
- 1:41:11believe that. But I think that there's
- 1:41:14something about there's this weird built in friendship and
- 1:41:17bond that they do have and they're touching on it.
- 1:41:22I almost felt like it was a confession the way that it came
- 1:41:26out that they said, well, we have been going to church
- 1:41:31together and we did go to a children's movie together.
- 1:41:34It felt like a confession that they maybe were a little
- 1:41:39embarrassed that they'd actually gone and done these things
- 1:41:42together to bond after Wynn's death.
- 1:41:44That maybe they wouldn't have done this during Wynn's
- 1:41:48lifetime, but they've done it after.
- 1:41:50And we like, went out and did this thing and I started singing
- 1:42:00Yes, well I love that you're referencing Golden Girls 'cause
- 1:42:04my first thought as you were saying that was they also are in
- 1:42:08I mean they literally are two old ladies living out in houses
- 1:42:11in the middle of nowhere and maybe that is a part of their
- 1:42:15connection as well as I don't want to say it's geographical
- 1:42:19but literally they are on like
- 1:42:21of nowhere. And so they might just be people
- 1:42:23that can depend and support each
- 1:42:27this sister wife connection. Regardless of that if they are
- 1:42:30truly friends like Golden girls and they check in on each other
- 1:42:33and support each other. So I was being too cynical.
- 1:42:35You are right, honey. We've been put out to pasture,
- 1:42:39we're on the shelf like a can of
- 1:42:43to have the cheesecake whenever we want it and tell stories
- 1:42:48about the olden days. Yes, yes, picture it. 2013
- 1:42:53Montana. Absolutely.
- 1:42:56Kody wraps up the episode by summarizing how the challenging
- 1:42:59recent events in their family only emphasizes the importance
- 1:43:03of this commitment. Ceremony slash non vow renewal
- 1:43:07slash party, backyard gathering,
- 1:43:12whatnot Ness that the problems
- 1:43:17to the precious times they spend
- 1:43:21You know, now I can you know, I'm saying that a little silly,
- 1:43:23but that's the take away of the episode.
- 1:43:25That's what we're supposed to have garnered from this.
- 1:43:27I feel as though I have garnered
- 1:43:31And let's say it's that, you know, it's a way to wrap up this
- 1:43:35episode that made you cry several times and I was like,
- 1:43:39got it, you know, whatever. So there's that, you know?
- 1:43:43Fighting is trite. Fighting is trite.
- 1:43:47There's anything I've learned over the last two episodes it's
- 1:43:49that trite is a good word, and
- 1:43:55Well, and this is the thing about trite, so the reason that
- 1:43:57I've been confused by it and I
- 1:44:02an asshole in this episode, I'm I'm going to mansplain to
- 1:44:06everyone what trite means. OK, Trite is an idea, phrase, or
- 1:44:11expression that is boring, unoriginal, and lacking in
- 1:44:14sincerity because people have used it far too many times.
- 1:44:17So This is why even Kody's use
- 1:44:22not actually. No.
- 1:44:25See, and I know I'm splitting hairs here, but I just can't
- 1:44:28give Kody the credit that he thinks he deserves, OK?
- 1:44:30Trite does not necessarily mean that, oh, there's significance
- 1:44:35here, that we're downplaying or something.
- 1:44:36Trivial is what he means. Yeah, he's agreed that would be
- 1:44:42a much better word than trite.
- 1:44:45who am I? I'm just a deadbeat loser who
- 1:44:47has a Sister Wives podcast. Disgusting.
- 1:44:50Don't listen to me. Don't listen even though you're
- 1:44:52listening right now. Don't listen to me.
- 1:44:54No, you're right. Because they grab on to one word
- 1:44:57for a couple of episodes and we hear it repeatedly for a couple
- 1:45:00of episodes and we giggle and chuckle about it because it's
- 1:45:03funny. Then they don't use it again.
- 1:45:06Yeah, and they're using it inappropriately during the time
- 1:45:12we need to compile a list, because I am fairly certain
- 1:45:15there's a list of at least 10 words at this point that they've
- 1:45:18used incorrectly for a couple of
- 1:45:22moved on from. This is one of those words.
- 1:45:25You're 100% correct. Yeah, after this episode, will
- 1:45:28we No, will we have two more, at
- 1:45:31season because we do actually have to have this non vowel
- 1:45:34renewal, non ceremony, non party
- 1:45:37And I wouldn't be surprised if
- 1:45:40times while describing activities and scenarios.
- 1:45:44And then by season 7, we probably will never hear Trite
- 1:45:47again. You.
- 1:45:48Are correct. We've now entered the final
- 1:45:52chapter. Oh God, dare I say the Janelle
- 1:45:55slash Sheryl chapter of our podcast episode?
- 1:46:01I'm so bad. I am so bad.
- 1:46:05I am the Dorothy of this episode
- 1:46:07So it's time for mustard seed and shit stain.
- 1:46:10As always, not as always as what
- 1:46:13raised me right and I'm part of the manosphere.
- 1:46:15I'm going to tee up to you that your mustard seed should come
- 1:46:18first. Who are you going to bless with
- 1:46:21your beautiful mustard seed this
- 1:46:24Is it going to be shocking? Is it going to be appalling?
- 1:46:29It's definitely not trite. I am going to give my mustard
- 1:46:35seed to Kody. Is this our first?
- 1:46:40I feel like I've asked this before.
- 1:46:41Have we given him a mustard seed?
- 1:46:43But The thing is, we don't keep score, you know?
- 1:46:44So. One of us has, maybe both of us,
- 1:46:47maybe you, maybe I. One of us has.
- 1:46:50And we've said this. Well, it's a shock.
- 1:46:54You know, he had a couple of really hard hitting moments for
- 1:46:58me where he spoke about religion
- 1:47:05not mattering in the grand scheme of things and that
- 1:47:09God's plan for everybody is what it is and it need not affect
- 1:47:13you. As long as you love the person,
- 1:47:18it's fine. I'm not a very religious person.
- 1:47:23I was raised very religiously.
- 1:47:29a lot. And I think that the world as a
- 1:47:31whole, if we all understood that
- 1:47:37better off. There wouldn't be all the shit,
- 1:47:43half the shit going on in the world if people just respected
- 1:47:46each other's purpose in life and
- 1:47:50your own and respected each other's just purpose and mindset
- 1:47:56and just there is no need to fight over it.
- 1:48:00I don't understand that, you know, and I respect Kody for
- 1:48:05saying that, especially for being somebody from a religion
- 1:48:11as dogmatic as theirs. So there was that.
- 1:48:17I do like the fact that he went in and spoke to his mother
- 1:48:20privately and asked her how she was and offered a space for her
- 1:48:23to come stay if she felt lonely.
- 1:48:26Yeah, I think that was kind, caring.
- 1:48:28Not a lot of people do that nowadays to their own family.
- 1:48:33A lot of people would avoid asking that for the fear of
- 1:48:38somebody saying, yes, please let me come stay with you.
- 1:48:41He didn't do that. He went and offered up a space
- 1:48:51being selfish, even though other people might think he was.
- 1:48:58All of his emotions were valid
- 1:49:00Missing his brother. The fact that this was only four
- 1:49:03months after his brother's passing and he had this insight
- 1:49:11is huge to me after losing my best friend.
- 1:49:16Granted wasn't my sibling. She felt like my sibling.
- 1:49:21I was a hot mess express, I was making horrible decisions and I
- 1:49:24was a train wreck. Granted, I was a lot younger,
- 1:49:27but I just have a lot of grace
- 1:49:30So I don't know. I'm giving my mustard seed to
- 1:49:33Kody Brown and it's here, it's
- 1:49:39It's not going to flourish, it's
- 1:49:41We know it's a dud, but I'm putting it out there into the
- 1:49:46universe. Well, maybe that mustard seed
- 1:49:49will be like an oak tree in Las Vegas and it would never
- 1:49:51survive without being literally watered by landscapers.
- 1:49:54Or use yourself as a homeowner.
- 1:49:56So. Maybe 10 years from now, he'll
- 1:50:01You never know. You never know.
- 1:50:03What about you? Give me your mustard seed.
- 1:50:07Oh, Mustard Seed's tough on this one.
- 1:50:09You know, I want to default to giving it to Curtis, although
- 1:50:13that doesn't feel right. And then I think, oh, what about
- 1:50:19wasn't even in this episode, so I feel as though I'm going to
- 1:50:23give it to Janneel because Janelle gave them that huge dry
- 1:50:28sandwich when they arrived, which was very generous of her.
- 1:50:31Delicious.
- 1:50:32She also was candid, considering
- 1:50:35that living room alone, you know, although she had that
- 1:50:38disgustingly perverted story about how she met her husband.
- 1:50:42She did, you know, eventually redeem herself by being so
- 1:50:48candid and honest about even though she didn't say a lot, she
- 1:50:52did say that she was having a hard time getting over Curtis
- 1:50:55and reading his poetry. I did have a head scratch moment
- 1:50:58where I'm going. I wonder what Curtis's poetry
- 1:51:00was. But that was just me being a
- 1:51:02judgmental homosexual. You know, she was being honest
- 1:51:05with Kody, I felt in these conversations, and I felt bad
- 1:51:08for her. So maybe it's kind of a sympathy
- 1:51:11mustard seed. Let's go with that.
- 1:51:12Like I felt bad for Janelle even
- 1:51:15you know, even. With her honesty about her
- 1:51:18perverse relationship with a PITA.
- 1:51:24It's a family show. It's a family show.
- 1:51:27It really is. So is this podcast.
- 1:51:31So now it's time for shit stains.
- 1:51:33And I definitely have a few that
- 1:51:36worried about which one you're
- 1:51:39I alluded to it earlier, it's going to the same person as the
- 1:51:42last episode. Love me or hate me, still an
- 1:51:47obsession. Love me or hate me, it's
- 1:51:49Janelle. Where do I even start with this?
- 1:51:53First she stopped herself from
- 1:51:59Janelle's bond with Curtis. She stopped the couch interview
- 1:52:06went hardened herself to for John.
- 1:52:15She couldn't even talk about a
- 1:52:20and get emotional and let it happen.
- 1:52:23It's like she was channeling Win
- 1:52:27didn't like it. Yeah, I just think about the
- 1:52:33moments that they showed her with her mom, where, OK, we're
- 1:52:38at the property and we're getting all these heartfelt
- 1:52:41moments with Kody and his mom.
- 1:52:46Janelle and her mom and Janelle comforting her mom.
- 1:52:51We got a teeny tiny morsel of it, but not much.
- 1:52:56I think about the edit and maybe
- 1:52:59didn't show her and her mom bonding over wins loss.
- 1:53:06I don't know. She keeps falling short for me.
- 1:53:09And it also makes me think we've
- 1:53:14for the weight loss and being open and honest about her weight
- 1:53:17loss journey. But to be frank, that's a little
- 1:53:21superficial. She doesn't ever really get deep
- 1:53:25with us about why weight loss has been hard for her, about why
- 1:53:30she's had disordered eating. We've talked about that a lot,
- 1:53:34about how we wish she would even
- 1:53:37journey with us. She hasn't.
- 1:53:40She's just superficial all around with her emotions with
- 1:53:44us. She gives us these little tiny
- 1:53:46things. She stays non problematic enough
- 1:53:49that nobody hates her. But she also doesn't go deep
- 1:53:54into her emotion. And the last couple of episodes
- 1:53:58it's been very apparent to me that she is so uncomfortable
- 1:54:02with emotion in a way that has
- 1:54:06children. So yeah, she's getting my shit
- 1:54:10stained for a second week in a
- 1:54:12And I think that it's just been very apparent to me the last
- 1:54:15couple of episodes that if she
- 1:54:20emotions, how can she handle her
- 1:54:25Christine was the mom to her children while she was away at
- 1:54:29work to her children. Have an outlet with Christine.
- 1:54:32I don't know, but she just obviously isn't great with
- 1:54:36emotion and it makes me really, really wonder about her growth
- 1:54:41as a person. Yeah, I don't have any
- 1:54:44disagreements with anything that
- 1:54:46I think that that basically sums
- 1:54:50emotions and expressing her feelings.
- 1:54:53So and you know, spoiler alert, that doesn't really change much.
- 1:55:01years in the future today, and
- 1:55:05in her life. And when she's talking about it,
- 1:55:07she's like, I don't really like to, you know?
- 1:55:09You know, it is, but it is. And it's like, Oh my God, bitch.
- 1:55:12Like, So. Yeah.
- 1:55:14What about your schmear, darling?
- 1:55:17I want to give it to Christine
- 1:55:21concrete. You know, we were coming out,
- 1:55:23blah, blah, blah. But I'm not going to.
- 1:55:26I'm going to take the High Road and I'm giving it to Aurora.
- 1:55:29That child, that bitch, that loser.
- 1:55:33Well, I shouldn't say loser because we're losers.
- 1:55:35That scum sucking rodent. Aurora.
- 1:55:38OK, kneeling at the foot of Grandma Janneel.
- 1:55:45Inappropriate. Find your space, girl.
- 1:55:48Get in that space and don't leave it.
- 1:55:52The whole pick me vibes. Absolutely.
- 1:55:54She is modeling behavior after
- 1:55:57She is right up in there. Multiple times in this episode.
- 1:56:00There were several scenes where her face had that eager Beaver
- 1:56:04look that is hard to describe.
- 1:56:08I just want to wipe that off your face.
- 1:56:10I don't even know what it is, but you are too enthusiastic
- 1:56:14about something that you shouldn't be.
- 1:56:16And frankly, at 9 or 10 years old, however old you are, 12, I
- 1:56:19don't know. You should know that that's not
- 1:56:21OK because people should have bullied you in school.
- 1:56:24You should have been harassed by
- 1:56:27Someone should have pushed you
- 1:56:29like, stop, Aurora. Stop.
- 1:56:32So Aurora, she gets my shit stained and she definitely
- 1:56:36earned it. Oh my.
- 1:56:37God. You know.
- 1:56:41Oh, I feel like usually I'm the one that's giving the children
- 1:56:43the the issues and getting in trouble for it.
- 1:56:46Love you Aurora. We all know children that we
- 1:56:50love to hate. Aurora is one of them.
- 1:56:54Our Keep Sweep moment this week comes to us from YouTube, a
- 1:56:58comment left by Brittany Lopper.
- 1:57:00And this is on our rewatch of Season 6 Episode 1.
- 1:57:03So this is a Wayback Machine moment, picking up the pieces.
- 1:57:10the embarrassment of sticker shock and still buying because
- 1:57:14It's happened to me and I felt so stupid and gullible.
- 1:57:18But honestly, it's really a rude business tactic and doesn't
- 1:57:21surprise me at all that Robyn would do that.
- 1:57:23And This is why we're picking. This is because, yeah, fuck
- 1:57:27Robyn. And also we've all been there.
- 1:57:30And then like, Oh my God, this is that much this cost.
- 1:57:32And it's like, oh, what do I do now?
- 1:57:34And now I'm in this and I don't know what to do.
- 1:57:36So I'm just going to pay for it. And it's wrong.
- 1:57:39It's against God's law. You need to put prices on your
- 1:57:43business and you're doing these tactics, I'm shaming you right
- 1:57:48It really is. It's embarrassing.
- 1:57:50One of my goals in life is to go to a store and never have to
- 1:57:55look at a price tag and never have to think about it and just
- 1:57:59be able to walk up to a counter with whatever I like in the
- 1:58:02store. And they tell me the cost and I
- 1:58:05go OK and just shrug my shoulders as Robyn Brown does
- 1:58:09every day, even though she really fucking shouldn't.
- 1:58:13I want to be able to do that because I have enough money to
- 1:58:22It, oh Lord my God. My God, never going to be tried
- 1:58:27in my book.
