- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Uh-huh. I sure will. Good morning, everybody. Y'all
- 0:14Speaker 1: listening to The Voice. Come on, dig me now. One
- 0:16Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey. Got a radio show. Man, got
- 0:21Speaker 1: a radio show because God is in the blessing business.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I just happen to be a recipient. I just happened
- 0:28Speaker 1: to got a couple of things right. Um, and man,
- 0:35Speaker 1: his grace and mercy carries you the rest of the way.
- 0:38Speaker 1: All you got to do is get a couple of
- 0:40Speaker 1: things right. And then his grace and his mercy will
- 0:44Speaker 1: take over his favor, his love of you. It's, it's
- 0:49Speaker 1: already evident. I mean, you know, because so many times
- 0:51Speaker 1: we go along without even acknowledging him or conferring with
- 0:55Speaker 1: him in our decisions. And, And we look up and
- 0:58Speaker 1: we find ourselves in a predicament and he always comes,
- 1:01Speaker 1: comes to the rescue. He always manages to show up.
- 1:07Speaker 1: He's never too late. He's never one minute too late.
- 1:11Speaker 1: And so, uh, in light of this today, I wanted
- 1:14Speaker 1: to talk to you about something. It's another principle of success, um,
- 1:21Speaker 1: that I'd like to share with, uh, everybody this morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And once again, these are not things that you don't
- 1:27Speaker 1: know or you've never heard before. These are just reminders
- 1:32Speaker 1: along the way. And one of the things you have
- 1:35Speaker 1: to be conscious of is don't be afraid to change.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Don't be afraid to change because change is coming anyway. See,
- 1:44Speaker 1: I have a theory. Don't be afraid to change because
- 1:48Speaker 1: change is coming anyway. You know, everything changes. Nothing remains
- 1:53Speaker 1: the same. Nothing. And change is inevitable. Now, you could
- 1:58Speaker 1: participate in the change or you can react to the change.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Are you following me? You can participate in the change
- 2:10Speaker 1: or you can react to the change. But don't be
- 2:14Speaker 1: afraid to change because change is coming anyway. Now, what
- 2:18Speaker 1: I mean by that is this. In participating in the
- 2:22Speaker 1: change or reacting in the change, there is a difference. See,
- 2:28Speaker 1: if you react to the change, that means the change
- 2:31Speaker 1: has occurred and now you have to make the necessary
- 2:35Speaker 1: adjustments to the change. Example, the boss walks in. You
- 2:40Speaker 1: think your job is good. The boss walks in and
- 2:43Speaker 1: hands you a pink slip. That right there, that's a change. Now,
- 2:49Speaker 1: you didn't participate in this change because you didn't ask
- 2:51Speaker 1: for the pink slip. But now you got to react
- 2:54Speaker 1: to the pink slip. Whenever you have to react to
- 2:58Speaker 1: the change, it's an adjustment period. It almost throws you off.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So change is going to come. It always does. You
- 3:12Speaker 1: can participate or you can react. Or let's say. your
- 3:18Speaker 1: boss comes in and has you the pink slip. And
- 3:21Speaker 1: you said, you know what? I've been preparing for this day.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Always knew nothing lasts forever. I've been working on the
- 3:31Speaker 1: sideline on the business idea I had. And I had,
- 3:34Speaker 1: or I had several other applications in around town. I
- 3:38Speaker 1: was just holding off to see what was going on.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So when they hand you the pink slip, The transition,
- 3:44Speaker 1: the adjustment you make is a lot more smooth to
- 3:46Speaker 1: transition because now you just transition into your new business
- 3:51Speaker 1: idea that you've been working on. Are you transitioning to
- 3:53Speaker 1: the apps you already had in or the contacts you made?
- 3:57Speaker 1: The preparation for when the day they come in and
- 3:59Speaker 1: hand you the pink slip. Well, Steve, what if they
- 4:02Speaker 1: surprise you with it? This is just one example I'm
- 4:04Speaker 1: giving you. So, you know, let's not nitpick the message.
- 4:09Speaker 1: So what I'm saying to everybody is, Don't be afraid
- 4:13Speaker 1: to change because change is coming anyway. So many people
- 4:17Speaker 1: are stuck in a rut because of our refusal to change.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I was hell bent on a certain thing going a
- 4:27Speaker 1: certain way, and this is how it was going to go. Well,
- 4:31Speaker 1: that that I was thinking didn't really fit. Now, in
- 4:35Speaker 1: my own personal experience, this may not be yours, but
- 4:38Speaker 1: in my own personal experience, the things that I've had
- 4:41Speaker 1: the most trouble letting go of was something I wanted.
- 4:47Speaker 1: When I line myself up with the will of God
- 4:50Speaker 1: to ask God what he wanted for me, you understand
- 4:55Speaker 1: those things came a lot more easy to me because
- 5:00Speaker 1: it was in the will of God. It was what
- 5:01Speaker 1: God wanted me to do too. Okay. See what you
- 5:04Speaker 1: mean by that. Okay, here we go. When things were
- 5:07Speaker 1: going wrong, in relationships for me. What I did was
- 5:14Speaker 1: the biggest mistake I've ever made was I attempted to
- 5:18Speaker 1: fix what was wrong in my relationship outside of the relationship.
- 5:22Speaker 1: You feel me? Okay. So I'm out there working my
- 5:27Speaker 1: groove like I want to. Well, now guess what? There's
- 5:31Speaker 1: a cause and effect for all of that too. Your
- 5:34Speaker 1: house ain't going to get better. It can't. And then
- 5:39Speaker 1: that leaves room for some other things. And so now
- 5:43Speaker 1: when the change come, guess what? I got to react
- 5:46Speaker 1: to it now. I got to have a reaction to it.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Had I lined myself up in the will of God,
- 5:55Speaker 1: the transition may have gone differently. It could have still
- 5:59Speaker 1: ended the relationship. But guess what? Some of the pain
- 6:04Speaker 1: I was in, I ain't had to go through. I
- 6:07Speaker 1: bought a lot on myself. Sometimes you're pursuing a passion
- 6:12Speaker 1: of yours. And what God really wants you to do
- 6:15Speaker 1: is pursue your gift. So now you're pursuing your passion, right?
- 6:20Speaker 1: You passionate about golf. You love golf so much. You
- 6:24Speaker 1: just determined, but now you done messed around. You ain't
- 6:27Speaker 1: made it on the PGA tour yet. And you 45
- 6:30Speaker 1: still talking about, I'm going to play on the PGA tour. Really? Okay.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Maybe you ain't as good as this. You think, or
- 6:37Speaker 1: maybe you're not as gifted as you think. Maybe you
- 6:39Speaker 1: pursuing a passion. Sometimes, man, we have to change and
- 6:44Speaker 1: we have to ask God what is his will. His
- 6:48Speaker 1: will is much simpler. It's a simpler road, not going
- 6:51Speaker 1: to be easier. It's simpler. See, when I wake up now,
- 6:55Speaker 1: it's simple for me to wake up because I know
- 6:58Speaker 1: there are a few things that I have to do.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I have to click this mic on. I have to
- 7:04Speaker 1: be positive. I have to be inspirational. I have to
- 7:08Speaker 1: be informative. I have to be uplifting. Got it. That's
- 7:12Speaker 1: what he want. All I got to do is sit down,
- 7:15Speaker 1: close my eyes, ask God to help me be who
- 7:18Speaker 1: he want me to be. And for the most part,
- 7:21Speaker 1: he tell me what to say. Now, guess what he's done, though,
- 7:25Speaker 1: to create this in me. I went through enough things
- 7:29Speaker 1: in my life. I had enough challenges. I made plenty
- 7:33Speaker 1: of mistakes. So now at my age, I can turn
- 7:36Speaker 1: around and tell somebody listening to me, okay, this is
- 7:38Speaker 1: what I did. This is a mistake I made. Maybe
- 7:40Speaker 1: you see yourself in this story right here. Maybe you
- 7:42Speaker 1: don't have to go this way. Or this is what
- 7:44Speaker 1: I've learned about becoming successful. Here's a principle that I learned.
- 7:48Speaker 1: But then guess what? I had to be unsuccessful to
- 7:51Speaker 1: get it, though, didn't I? So you can't have a
- 7:54Speaker 1: testimony without a test. Change is coming. It's inevitable. You
- 7:58Speaker 1: can participate or you can react. I much prefer to
- 8:02Speaker 1: participate in the change. All right, let's go. You're listening
- 8:05Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
