- 0:27Hey. Everybody, good morning from the
- 0:29chicken coop. Have you ever?
- 0:31Heard somebody say to. You just breathe.
- 0:34Just take a breath. Well, I know I have many times
- 0:38in my life and I've often. Been curious?
- 0:41OK, What's the reason people tell us that?
- 0:44Why? Why is it every?
- 0:45Time. Something's going on.
- 0:47Someone wants to. Say, just breathe.
- 0:49And I say. That to people.
- 0:51Sometimes just. Take a breath.
- 0:53I think I texted that to a client this week.
- 0:55Take a breath, because it works. It's not just like.
- 1:00A. A made-up thing, part of the.
- 1:03Problem that we have as human beings is that when we get.
- 1:07Stressed there is a physiological aspect of our body
- 1:12that takes. Over and we don't.
- 1:13We are very unaware of it. Your shoulders will start to
- 1:16rise up to your ears. You start to get very.
- 1:19Focused on the problem in front of you, whatever that may be,
- 1:25and you. Hold your breath.
- 1:27When we panic, one of the physiological things that.
- 1:30We do is we hold our breath right away.
- 1:32And the moment you start. To hold your breath, your.
- 1:36Brain goes. Into this phase where it's
- 1:39protecting you because it needs air so it starts to race your
- 1:43heart everything starts to go harder, harder, harder.
- 1:46Your heart rate goes up. Heart rate goes up because
- 1:48you're. Probably not breathing.
- 1:51Panic has set in and it's it, it and it.
- 1:53This is something my friends that goes.
- 1:55Off so quickly. You don't realize what's
- 1:57happening. So whether the threat is real?
- 2:00Or perceived. And I know you've heard me say
- 2:02that many, many times. We have to realize that the
- 2:05physiological state of our bodies.
- 2:08Is kicking in and that's causing more challenges just by its very
- 2:14nature of holding our breath. So when we take a.
- 2:17Deep breath. When we sit and pause, we can
- 2:19organically. Very quickly.
- 2:22Naturally shift. Our Physiology very, very, very
- 2:25quickly by just. Breathing and stopping and
- 2:28pausing. This seems like such a.
- 2:31Silly tactic, but I will tell you.
- 2:34If you are someone who goes. To yoga.
- 2:37Or you're into meditation, Mindfulness, you already know.
- 2:41The power this has. Maybe you don't.
- 2:43Use. It regularly or maybe you use it
- 2:45when you're in those rooms or those situations, but when
- 2:47you're not doing it out in the world and I can promise you when
- 2:52you start to pay attention to just breathing.
- 2:54You will feel better throughout your day no matter.
- 2:57What you're. Doing Just take a breath.
- 3:00And that. Pause of.
- 3:01Taking a breath has really taught me to continue that by
- 3:04saying other things where it's like if you're in a heated
- 3:07situation, you need. To hit.
- 3:09The pause button and think. You're you take a.
- 3:13Breath. So now you can actually think
- 3:14clearly because that's the other thing that physiologically when
- 3:17you are having a challenge, you're not breathing.
- 3:21As soon as your brain has, you know, a less amount of oxygen,
- 3:25you can't think clearly. Remember that you are not
- 3:28thinking clearly. So what's important is to allow
- 3:30yourself to begin to think clearly again and that comes in
- 3:33with oxygen. So as soon.
- 3:34As that. Takes place and you start.
- 3:36To. Have the oxygen come in.
- 3:37You can. Say to yourself, hey.
- 3:39I think I need to take. I can't answer this question
- 3:42right now. I need to take a pause.
- 3:44I need to wait to see what this answer is going to be.
- 3:47Give me a bit, give me time. I'll tell you in 24 hours,
- 3:51whatever it might be. Give yourself the pause, because
- 3:54there's. Power in the pausing, there's
- 3:57power in the breathing, there's power in that chilled out
- 4:01moment, Honestly. It works unbelievably well.
- 4:06If we do it, it works unbelievably well.
- 4:09If we do it, If we don't do it. Then guess what?
- 4:13Nothing happens. Nothing happens.
- 4:15So start with that. Figure out where you need to.
- 4:20Put. Your breaths in the day ahead of
- 4:22time, no. If you get stressed out, just.
- 4:24Pulling into your. Parking space at work.
- 4:27If you know that you are now, you know many companies are now
- 4:31putting people back in the office part time.
- 4:33They're saying, well, we want you to come in three days a
- 4:35week. You can work. 2.
- 4:36Days A. Week at home.
- 4:37Three days a week you have to be here.
- 4:39And you've been home for the last you know, 3.
- 4:41Years. Four years because of.
- 4:43What happened with the pandemic? Well, guess.
- 4:45What? That's going to be.
- 4:46A stressor, so you have to realize that as you're.
- 4:49Pulling into work, a very important strategy is to.
- 4:51Breathe before. You even walk in the door.
- 4:53Take. A deep breath.
- 4:54Take. 30 seconds pause and just sit and breathe and feel.
- 4:58Good physiologically. 1st and then walk in the door.
- 5:04It will change everything, it will make you feel like a
- 5:06different person, but you have to remember to do it, and that's
- 5:10the key. It's the memory of saying.
- 5:12Wait, pause. Breathe, wait, Pause, breathe.
- 5:15Right, that's. The thing?
- 5:17It goes. Back to being able.
- 5:19To actually put it into action. Simple strategies in action
- 5:22change our world externally like you would not believe.
- 5:26Give. It a try see how it goes.
- 5:28And I will see you all tomorrow have.
- 5:31A blessed day, everybody. Bye.
