Transcript
- 0:02Well, as Dale Junior, say I then, I am in Mount Carmel, IL,
- 0:12all by my lonesome, all by myself.
- 0:16Everybody's too old to do anything with me.
- 0:19They're married and they got kids.
- 0:24It's just fine, though. I'm happy as I'll get out going
- 0:28down here to Willie's carburetors, get my motor tuned
- 0:32up, make sure I got the air mixture, fuel mixture going into
- 0:36each 8 cylinders perfectly. So with the announcement of
- 0:45Stewart Haas racing shut down there is there?
- 0:51There's one thing for sure out of all this, we're getting ready
- 0:55to find out something really big that everybody's been wanting to
- 0:58know. So NASCAR now has what we call
- 1:02these franchises in. In other words, if if you are in
- 1:07NASCAR to this day and you own a NASCAR Cup team, that that means
- 1:12you have a franchise like, like owning the McDonald's.
- 1:15Like, you know, you just can't have a McDonald's.
- 1:19You got to acquire a franchise. So, so McDonald's goes, OK, we
- 1:23let you have a franchise and now you own a McDonald's.
- 1:27It's kind of like that NASCAR now you just can't show up and
- 1:30race. I mean, I guess there's two
- 1:32spots at the at the end of the of the starting field.
- 1:38But I acknowledge that that's so they don't get sued.
- 1:44I guess. I guess you, I guess there's a
- 1:47couple people per race that can come in and qualify.
- 1:51Respond right here if I'm wrong just because.
- 1:53Just because I've raced NASCAR my whole life doesn't mean we
- 1:58know everything. You'd be surprised.
- 2:00The drivers that run every single damn race every week.
- 2:03It's hard to know all the rules, but there are two spots left
- 2:07every single weekend for you to qualify.
- 2:11But anyway, so now there's going to be 4 starting spots for sale.
- 2:20We call them franchises and. And this all started because,
- 2:24you know, you owned A-Team. And then when it was all over,
- 2:27you didn't have anything. You had brick and mortar.
- 2:31It meant all you had was a building.
- 2:33And now we're going to start selling everything like a fire
- 2:35sale. So the franchise means that, OK,
- 2:39now when it's over, you can sell your your starting spot.
- 2:43I'm going to sell you my starting spot on the field.
- 2:46So now Stewart Haas has four for sale with the announcement of
- 2:51them shutting down completely at the end of the year.
- 2:55So my dear friend Rick Mast over there on the Rick Mast show.
- 3:00Now Rick didn't make a show about it yet, but I'm interested
- 3:04to see if he does with Charlie Marlow because on X last night,
- 3:09Rick says, well, we're getting ready to see what what a
- 3:14franchise will sell for. So the thought was $40 million,
- 3:2011 franchise, $40 million. Well, Brad Keselowski says.
- 3:28And then also Kelly, Kelly Earnhardt, she pipes up and she
- 3:36goes, yeah, we're, we're 30 million short too, which I do
- 3:40want to say we're we're going to have Kelly Earnhardt on Kenny
- 3:43conversation. I want to repeat it because I
- 3:46think it's a pretty big deal. We are going to have Kelly
- 3:49Earnhardt on Kenny conversation. She said yes on X, but but I
- 3:56thought Kelly kind of showed her cards.
- 3:59She said, yeah, we're 30 million short too.
- 4:02For what? So it sounds to me like Kelly
- 4:07Earnhardt and Dale Junior are looking at starting a cup team
- 4:11because she said we're 30 million short too.
- 4:14Well, she says we're short. That means they're looking at
- 4:17starting a cup team, which in reality, I mean it it it's like
- 4:23they need to, right? There's all types of money
- 4:26around them, but I I don't know if they want to work that hard.
- 4:29Does Dale Junior and Kelly want to work that hard?
- 4:32Don't they got a really good life going on right now.
- 4:36You sure you want to start a cup team?
- 4:39There goes your free time. But anyway, respond right here.
- 4:45How much is a franchise worth? Is it worth 10 million?
- 4:51Because there are a lot of teams that are going to buy one of
- 4:53these franchises. Hey, listen, this is not the end
- 4:56of NASCAR. This is 4 new teams starting up
- 5:01because everybody wants them and they're going to be sold.
- 5:05So don't act like we're going to be short.
- 5:09There are a lot of teams that are going to buy these.
- 5:12But but what I'm making, what does coffee with Kenny's all
- 5:16about? What are they going to be worth?
- 5:20I'm going to say 20 million each.
- 5:23Respond right here. I said it.
- 5:25I don't. I think 40 million is way too
- 5:27much. That's a lot of damn money.
- 5:30However. Can't can't you imagine it?
- 5:34It's like going to Walmart, buying a shirt and then finding
- 5:37it cheaper at Target. Who's the first one to buy?
- 5:40Buy the franchise, Right? So I'm Joe Don.
- 5:44OK, let's, let's, let's, let's do it real.
- 5:47Let's say I'm Denny Hamlin and I'm Michael Jordan and I buy the
- 5:50first one for 25,000,000. Then all of a sudden somebody, I
- 5:58mean, I guess they could not sell them, but then they would
- 6:01go back to NASCAR, right? Because you, you don't, you
- 6:04don't keep you, you can't, you can't, you can't strangle
- 6:10NASCAR. These these are starting spots.
- 6:14So what happens if they sell the first one for 25, then the
- 6:18second one goes for 20, then the next one goes for 15 all the way
- 6:23to 10? It's going to be interesting
- 6:25since they have 4 for sale. How do you go about that, right?
- 6:28Respond right here. Do you sell them all four at the
- 6:31same time? That would be better.
- 6:35Is Honda coming in? Is Honda going to get with the
- 6:39team and say let's buy all these up real quick?
- 6:41That's a juicy one. Is Honda coming in?
- 6:44Will Honda buy them all? Whoa, boy.
- 6:48All right. Well, I think it's going to be
- 6:50really interesting. Respond right here, Subscribe
- 6:54right here. And man, oh, man, I tell you
- 6:58what, I really like Kevin Harvick's response on this whole
- 7:02deal. It was kind of cliche us Harvick
- 7:06been there what, like 10 / 10 years?
- 7:11Harvick said. We went forever to for the win
- 7:15and for sale. That was pretty good.
- 7:20He said that on the Happy Harvick podcast.
- 7:24Don't you know Harvick all his way to the studio, he's thinking
- 7:27how what am I going to say? Kevin Harvick Stewart House
- 7:32Racing, we went for we went from the number four forever two for
- 7:40the wind 2 for sale. But listen, I I really think
- 7:46that this listen, it's not even June yet and everybody knows
- 7:51that and I know that every one of those people are going to
- 7:54land on their feet. Hell, someone might come in and
- 7:56buy the whole damn building and say everybody just stay there,
- 7:59just stay right there. Wouldn't that be something?
- 8:02But like Todd Gordon said on SiriusXM radio is, listen, we
- 8:07don't need half the stuff we used to have because now these
- 8:11cars, you just bolt them together.
- 8:13You're hardly, you might need two surface plates or you might
- 8:16need a surface plate per car to set your chassis up on.
- 8:20But nowadays you don't build cars, you just bolt them
- 8:23together. So you don't need these big
- 8:25fabrication shops. So the, the, the moral of the
- 8:29story is the Stewart Haas shop geared up.
- 8:33I'm I mean, I know it's geared up, but do you need all the
- 8:36space now since you just buy this next Gen. car and bolted
- 8:39together? All right, that's my my
- 8:43afterthoughts of of the the the tough day for Stewart Haas
- 8:48racing. All right, remember to please
- 8:51like and subscribe right here and tell me what you think.
