- 1:35Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:35Speaker 2: What does that mean to you?
- 1:38Speaker 4: I'm I'm completing tasks, just knocking out stuff, knocking out stuff.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Poker tournament sold out, already working on promoting casino seats available.
- 1:48Speaker 2: About that?
- 1:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I added another sponsor for the event. Very nice,
- 1:52Speaker 4: so very nice, getting things done. Loaded the music for
- 1:56Speaker 4: the weekend.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Man, it's awesome. Yeah what else? U? Yeah, I did
- 2:01Speaker 2: a lot of work for the yacht rock show. Very nice,
- 2:07Speaker 2: ready to go, all right, good Friday for you, Deborah. Yeah,
- 2:11Speaker 2: still have my right arm, okay, which is nice. By
- 2:13Speaker 2: the way, the swelling on Deborah's right arm. If you
- 2:16Speaker 2: missed the show yesterday, Deborah was bitten by something and
- 2:20Speaker 2: she had like a skull can lid size swell on
- 2:24Speaker 2: her arm. Today. It's bigger today, her dad and actually
- 2:27Speaker 2: is going up her arm toward her elbow. Now, the
- 2:30Speaker 2: swelling is isn't as bad. It's softer. Yesterday, the swelling
- 2:34Speaker 2: around the bike was a little bit more firm. But
- 2:36Speaker 2: this swelling and the redness goes up her arm. Now,
- 2:39Speaker 2: I'm curious what actions did we take after we told
- 2:43Speaker 2: you yesterday it was going to be cut off.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Why don't you roll the dice on that quest? On
- 2:46Speaker 5: that question, she had zero. That's true. We put Ben
- 2:51Speaker 5: a drill lotion on it.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Ben a drill cream, dude, I'm gonna have a
- 2:59Speaker 2: fun turn worse. Look at it. It's actually worse. It's
- 3:02Speaker 2: bigger now, and it's shiny. It looks hot hot to
- 3:05Speaker 2: the touch. It's not. It's a little warm.
- 3:09Speaker 5: The swelling right now, from my perspective, looks like it's
- 3:12Speaker 5: finally going down. Like, see, I don't know putting ice
- 3:14Speaker 5: on this is a good idea. You know how when
- 3:16Speaker 5: you have food poisoning, they say, don't take something that
- 3:20Speaker 5: stops you from going to the bathroom because your body
- 3:23Speaker 5: is trying to get rid of So I don't know
- 3:25Speaker 5: if in this situation, like, I don't think I want
- 3:28Speaker 5: to put heat on it, but I don't know if
- 3:30Speaker 5: I should be putting ice on it.
- 3:32Speaker 2: If we only had a box that knew everything, what
- 3:36Speaker 2: you mean like that? Yeah, just ask it.
- 3:38Speaker 5: I mean I was going to solicit any ambulances in
- 3:41Speaker 5: the area and want to stop buy and give it
- 3:43Speaker 5: a look. See and can you lose conscience?
- 3:46Speaker 6: Now?
- 3:46Speaker 5: If you got a little Benadryl back there, we can
- 3:48Speaker 5: see what could happen.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Well, McConnell glitch in the middle of the show. Just
- 3:51Speaker 2: free solid, do you depend? And drilled cream is about
- 3:54Speaker 2: to change my kids smoothies. That's gonna be a completely
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah it is.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Ben isril right because it's supposed to stop the itch.
- 4:03Speaker 5: Get a sleepy, I mean a slushy sleepy. I'm sorry,
- 4:08Speaker 5: my drink up.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Ros good Friday for you.
- 4:11Speaker 7: Buddy, So far, so good. Don't know why you brought
- 4:13Speaker 7: religion into it. But I am pretty happy I did
- 4:19Speaker 7: some tasks. I let it dwell right there.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Thanks for the laugh, Jack, Yeah, it took me a
- 4:23Speaker 2: second to get the good Friday joke. Oh okay, good.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I was like, what, I'm.
- 4:26Speaker 7: Not proud of it either, but I got some stuff done.
- 4:30Speaker 7: And there's a weakness in my marriage. We both have
- 4:34Speaker 7: the same rock bottom house chore. Oh, it's putting clothes away.
- 4:40Speaker 7: Hate putting clothes away. And we don't not a fan either,
- 4:43Speaker 7: to the point where we don't even like to talk
- 4:45Speaker 7: about it. It's like this like little you know, like
- 4:48Speaker 7: a so usually a little monster that we don't talk about.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But usually in that scenario, here's what happens. Right, you
- 4:54Speaker 2: will fold the clothes and put them on the bed,
- 4:58Speaker 2: on the bed, and then you're like, well, I'll put
- 5:00Speaker 2: them away, and then you forget about that or you
- 5:02Speaker 2: ignore it because you don't want to do it. Then
- 5:03Speaker 2: it's bedtime. Then where do those clothes go? The chair,
- 5:07Speaker 2: any other flat surface, any other flat surface is the answer.
- 5:10Speaker 8: For us.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It's the floor at the head of our bed. Oh,
- 5:13Speaker 2: and we have had piles of clothes at the end
- 5:16Speaker 2: of our bed at times. We've had them there for
- 5:18Speaker 2: a week and a half, so we do it even worse.
- 5:21Speaker 2: It's actually like kind of hurting our marriage on how
- 5:24Speaker 2: we go about it, because it'll stay on the bed
- 5:27Speaker 2: and then it will stay on the bed. So then
- 5:29Speaker 2: it just makes this weird like clean clothes.
- 5:32Speaker 7: Hot dog between us. Oh no, so it makes us
- 5:36Speaker 7: super not romantic. I have been blocked by clean clothes.
- 5:43Speaker 7: We're making love to make out, but that hand me
- 5:45Speaker 7: down sweater. Yeah, there's this weird you know. I got
- 5:48Speaker 7: a Ralph Lauren looking at me. That's wild man, So
- 5:52Speaker 7: that will happen. We finally it came to a head.
- 5:55Speaker 7: We talked about it. We went all right, I won't
- 5:57Speaker 7: ever let you down when you do it, okay, and
- 6:00Speaker 7: vice versa.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Sure thing.
- 6:01Speaker 7: So whenever it is being done, and my god, have
- 6:04Speaker 7: we we have a mountain mount clothes.
- 6:07Speaker 2: What it should turn it into?
- 6:08Speaker 6: Right?
- 6:08Speaker 2: I mean, this is what works for us, and we
- 6:10Speaker 2: do this with almost everything. If I if I load
- 6:13Speaker 2: the dishwasher, Tory will unload the dishwasher. If I wash
- 6:17Speaker 2: and fold the clothes, Tory will put the clothes away,
- 6:20Speaker 2: and then vice versa. If she washes and folds the clothes,
- 6:23Speaker 2: is up to me at that point to put the
- 6:24Speaker 2: clothes away. And I mean, you know, I have an
- 6:27Speaker 2: advantage because I'm home in the morning, so she will
- 6:29Speaker 2: do it. In the evening. I wake up, I fold
- 6:31Speaker 2: and do that. But yeah, you got you gotta make it agreement, dude. Well,
- 6:34Speaker 2: and a lot of have an agreement, like a pack.
- 6:36Speaker 2: A lot of that is happening. But both of us
- 6:39Speaker 2: see the clean clothes and go like, nah, we hate it. Yeah, yah, nah, yeah,
- 6:43Speaker 2: we hate it. Here comes the hot Dollcello. Has it
- 6:47Speaker 2: used their dryer as a closet. Oh my god, I
- 6:50Speaker 2: think I think you just keep putting it on, Fluffy.
- 6:53Speaker 4: You need more exercise equipment in your house, you know
- 6:57Speaker 4: what never is talking about that?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Right? You just leave it in the and then when
- 7:00Speaker 2: it's time to get something, you just throw something wet
- 7:02Speaker 2: in there and let it run from fifteen minutes and
- 7:04Speaker 2: then pull it right back out and you're good to go.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Super energy efficient. It keeps it off the bed, it
- 7:11Speaker 2: keeps it off the floor. Just folded. That's that's what
- 7:14Speaker 2: I do. Yeah, well, that's when I'm argument for us
- 7:17Speaker 2: to Jim just fold it, Just fold the damn thing.
- 7:20Speaker 5: No, because folding it is only a third of it.
- 7:23Speaker 5: It's drying it, folding it and putting it away. That's
- 7:26Speaker 5: the hard part.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta create a system. Man, everybody's like happy okay.
- 7:30Speaker 5: And this is coming from a man who keeps his
- 7:32Speaker 5: clean clothes at the foot of his bed on the floor.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Sometimes you have clothes? Do you guys have clothes you
- 7:38Speaker 2: change into when you get home?
- 7:39Speaker 6: Oh?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, comfy clothes, do you really? Oh yeah? Is it
- 7:41Speaker 2: always pajamas for you?
- 7:42Speaker 5: Not pajamas, but like shorts and top anything that doesn't
- 7:45Speaker 5: necessitate or require a bra.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Same, Yeah, you got just get into the bra. Yeah, rash,
- 7:52Speaker 2: you got it. You got getting home clothes or you
- 7:53Speaker 2: just kind of stay in what you wear during the
- 7:55Speaker 2: day before you go sleep. I've got a series of
- 7:56Speaker 2: pants I like to slip into. Do you really come?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Do you think our audience says that, like the mister
- 8:02Speaker 2: Rogers thing, like when they go home. I mean, I'm
- 8:04Speaker 2: dudes who are working out there in the ladies who
- 8:06Speaker 2: are working out there in this, you know, in the
- 8:07Speaker 2: sweaty ass summer, I'm sure the first thing to do
- 8:10Speaker 2: is come home and grab a shower. So they're kind
- 8:11Speaker 2: of forced into it.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Yeah, but I would imagine everyone wants to get out
- 8:15Speaker 5: of your work clothes and get into those clothes that
- 8:17Speaker 5: you can climb on the couch with your family or
- 8:19Speaker 5: your husband and wife will watch TV.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's basketball shorts, exactly, basketball shorts. I like an
- 8:25Speaker 2: old pair of golf shorts that I use for like,
- 8:27Speaker 2: you know, working around the house. And just like any
- 8:29Speaker 2: cotton tea shirt, there you go slide into that. Man,
- 8:32Speaker 2: that's my favorite thing in the world, and that that
- 8:34Speaker 2: designates your home, like for me, like going in and
- 8:37Speaker 2: changing out of your work like even it's just jeans
- 8:39Speaker 2: and a shirt, it's just like designates that your home
- 8:42Speaker 2: and your day is over.
- 8:43Speaker 5: It's like the work clothes are off like a closure.
- 8:45Speaker 5: That's right, That's right. So what is your what's your
- 8:48Speaker 5: I think I've asked you guys this before. What's your
- 8:50Speaker 5: comfort food? Comfort food?
- 8:52Speaker 2: I made the All American meal yesterday for dinner, and
- 8:55Speaker 2: I have to tell you, I don't know how many
- 8:57Speaker 2: people I bet money I eat something last night that
- 9:01Speaker 2: you guys haven't eaten in years, if not at all.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I don't know that ross has ever eaten. What I
- 9:07Speaker 2: ate last night be a vegetable what is ross? What
- 9:12Speaker 2: do you think the all American meal is? If you
- 9:14Speaker 2: were to go to everywhere like Americana, if you were
- 9:17Speaker 2: to go to every state and ask you or three people,
- 9:18Speaker 2: what is the all American meal? What do you think
- 9:20Speaker 2: that is? I'm going like country fried steak. Country fried
- 9:24Speaker 2: steak is a wonderful guest. What would the sides be?
- 9:28Speaker 2: God like a mac and cheese something like that. What
- 9:31Speaker 2: would the veggie be a collared green very nice?
- 9:35Speaker 4: Broccoli, maat loaf, mashed potatoes and vegetable could be a
- 9:39Speaker 4: carrots or peas?
- 9:40Speaker 2: Very nice? What do you think I'm going with? Fried chicken? Okay,
- 9:43Speaker 2: that's another damn good one. That's another good one. Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 2: you gotta have a I don't know though. Do you
- 9:51Speaker 2: do mash taters or corner of the cob? That's I
- 9:54Speaker 2: think that's relatively common with. Okay, let's do some mash
- 9:57Speaker 2: taters in there? Is it? Okay? If that dessert?
- 10:01Speaker 7: Jim, would you judge me if I told you that
- 10:02Speaker 7: I forking knife mine corn on the cob?
- 10:05Speaker 2: Well, I mean, that's not the worst thing ever heard.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I know people who will roastling on the grill and
- 10:10Speaker 2: then cut it off the cob like that. They won't
- 10:12Speaker 2: eat it on the cop because they don't like it
- 10:13Speaker 2: in their teeth. Yeah, I don't like it in my teeth.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I like eating corn. Corn. Eating corn is awesome. It's
- 10:18Speaker 2: like having tracer bullets.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Eat it.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You eat it a long way. Poor Jack.
- 10:26Speaker 4: It's always a reminder that that morning. It's like, oh, yeah, hey,
- 10:30Speaker 4: I had that. I had corn.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Last night, I made meatloaf. Jack got that bark green beans.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And I did this for my wife because my wife
- 10:39Speaker 2: and one of the reasons we get along so well
- 10:41Speaker 2: because and when you look at us, were so different
- 10:43Speaker 2: right age, and then of course just she's gorgeous and
- 10:46Speaker 2: I'm this. But the thing is is we both grew
- 10:49Speaker 2: up the same and we both have come to the
- 10:50Speaker 2: conclusion that the all time Southern white trashy kind of
- 10:55Speaker 2: meal is meat loaf, green beans, and those canned new potato.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Have you ever had them? I knew it. You've never
- 11:04Speaker 2: had them either, have you? Ross? No, I don't think
- 11:07Speaker 2: they're little white potatoes. And they're like little new potatoes
- 11:10Speaker 2: and they've been skinned and cooked and they're in a
- 11:13Speaker 2: can and this broth. And when when we were kids,
- 11:16Speaker 2: that was like what we that was our potato. We
- 11:19Speaker 2: really never ate fresh potatoes for a while. They were
- 11:21Speaker 2: always processing, like uh, mashed potatoes or fries or something
- 11:24Speaker 2: like that. But we would get those little new potatoes
- 11:27Speaker 2: and my grandmother would always put them in the same
- 11:29Speaker 2: exact cooking vessel as the green beans. So when you
- 11:32Speaker 2: scooped it out, you had a couple of potatoes, you
- 11:34Speaker 2: got your green beans, your meat loafing off of you go.
- 11:37Speaker 2: And I'm gonna tell you something else. They're rare. They're
- 11:39Speaker 2: hard to find now, Like I didn't find any brand brand.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I had to get the public. Someone was last night.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Huh yeah, little kid. I told my wife earlier this week,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I said, I'm making us, I'm making a I'm making
- 11:52Speaker 2: Geneva dinner. One night he was what said, I'm like
- 11:55Speaker 2: meat loaf, and she likes the ketchup and brown sugar topping. Ok,
- 11:58Speaker 2: I'm more of a savory mushroom kind of topping.
- 12:00Speaker 8: Guy.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Hell yeah, But the green beans and the little potatoes
- 12:03Speaker 2: that is the absolute staple of any old school Southern dinner.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Did she let out a new week? Oh yeah, she
- 12:09Speaker 2: loved it. She couldn't wait all right, four seven nine
- 12:12Speaker 2: one six four one text us at seven seven zero
- 12:15Speaker 2: three to one. We do have a bunch of fun
- 12:16Speaker 2: stuff to talk about today. Deb you got some news
- 12:18Speaker 2: for it.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Shocking end to the Pacific Palisades fire trial, aid for
- 12:23Speaker 5: Venezuela could face some challenges, and this state is hailed
- 12:28Speaker 5: as a national leader and drunk driving prevention. Really, I
- 12:32Speaker 5: don't think you'll ever guess it. Really, I was shocked myself.
- 12:35Speaker 5: But we're going to talk about that and more coming
- 12:37Speaker 5: up next during JCS News Right.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Le break will come back, you get depth news and
- 12:40Speaker 2: kick it off with the Jim Colbert Show.
- 12:46Speaker 8: I know one thing for sure, and that drunk driving
- 12:50Speaker 8: prevented this state definitely eight Florida because I live here.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Hi, Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show, Real Radio
- 13:01Speaker 2: one to four point one. If you haven't heard, the
- 13:03Speaker 2: Real Radio Poker tournament is sold out for players. We
- 13:06Speaker 2: still have casino passes available at Real Radio Dot FM
- 13:09Speaker 2: Slash Poker. Absolutely oh and it's gonna be so much fun.
- 13:13Speaker 4: The that mortgage guy Don casino will be available. We
- 13:17Speaker 4: have about thirty of those passes still to go, and
- 13:20Speaker 4: you get to watch to see who wins the Just
- 13:23Speaker 4: Call Mo Poker Tournament and who who's the last surviving
- 13:27Speaker 4: member of the Solar Source final table.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Absolutely, And the cool thing is with the casino pass,
- 13:32Speaker 2: the only thing you don't do is play in the tournament.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Everything else you have access to. That's it. I mean,
- 13:37Speaker 2: so you have the casino, you have the food, you
- 13:39Speaker 2: have the silent auction, the raffles, all of that is
- 13:42Speaker 2: still available with just the casino pass. You just don't
- 13:45Speaker 2: get to play in the poker tournament. But can I
- 13:47Speaker 2: tell you a lot of people come out and do
- 13:48Speaker 2: that anyway. Yeah, they just like to hang out in
- 13:50Speaker 2: the room for the night and just kind of enjoy
- 13:52Speaker 2: everything and involved with the raffles. A lot of cool
- 13:54Speaker 2: stuff always up for grab. So again that's real Radio,
- 13:56Speaker 2: dot FM, slash Poker. Welcome back on Jim, Jack and Ross.
- 13:59Speaker 2: All right, were there and deb as your news.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news. Wow, this guy gotta put
- 14:08Speaker 1: his name on everything.
- 14:09Speaker 9: It's in my contracted here's the news on the Jim
- 14:12Speaker 9: Colberg Show.
- 14:13Speaker 5: And JCS news is brought to you by that mortgage guy.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Don give him a listen tomorrow morning when he's host
- 14:19Speaker 5: of the Home Loans radio show. All right, there's a
- 14:23Speaker 5: mistrial for the Brevard County man accused of starting the
- 14:26Speaker 5: deadly Palisades fire in southern California, and some of the
- 14:29Speaker 5: jurors are speaking out. One juror, Serena, said she and
- 14:33Speaker 5: most of her fellow jurors thought Jonathan Rinderneck was not
- 14:36Speaker 5: guilty of the charges against him.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Wow, it just happened that one person was not gonna
- 14:41Speaker 1: budge from the guilties.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And then someone this morning said I go on outside too.
- 14:46Speaker 5: Serena said she thought some evidence presented by the prosecutors
- 14:49Speaker 5: was quote misleading end quote. The January twenty twenty five
- 14:53Speaker 5: Palisades fire killed a dozen people, burned thousands of homes,
- 14:57Speaker 5: and cost over fifty one billion dollars in damage. It
- 15:01Speaker 5: has led to plenty of finger pointing between officials and
- 15:04Speaker 5: left Californians upset over the response.
- 15:06Speaker 2: And now the person they think may be responsible. Yeah, yeah, so.
- 15:11Speaker 5: We'll let you know if they decide to file charges
- 15:14Speaker 5: to get you know, yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Because it's trying to go now. But they have to
- 15:16Speaker 2: retry and but yeah, they still have to get an
- 15:18Speaker 2: indictment though, don't they. I mean, but they have to
- 15:19Speaker 2: still prove to a grand jury that they have enough
- 15:21Speaker 2: information or evidence to at least, you know, put on
- 15:24Speaker 2: a trial, don't they. I think they've done that already
- 15:27Speaker 2: they did. Does that have to redo that again?
- 15:29Speaker 4: So I think they can just retry and wow, yeah, exactly,
- 15:32Speaker 4: the new jury gold.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 5: The death toll in Venezuela has soared to almost one thousand,
- 15:39Speaker 5: oh after Wednesday's devastating earthquake, where now I believe to
- 15:43Speaker 5: nine hundred and twenty dead, thirty six hundred over thirty
- 15:47Speaker 5: six hundred injured. And Jimmy, you were saying how many
- 15:49Speaker 5: people are missing?
- 15:50Speaker 2: I saw a report today that they up to fifty
- 15:53Speaker 2: thousand people are missing. And one of the other stations
- 15:56Speaker 2: or one of the other news channels I watch, or
- 15:58Speaker 2: you know, pay attention to online had that four and
- 16:00Speaker 2: after slider bar they photographs and oh my god, I
- 16:04Speaker 2: mean it's just like again, it's just like somebody come
- 16:06Speaker 2: and push everything over. You know.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Rescue workers and civilians are racing against time to reach
- 16:10Speaker 5: possible survivors buried beneath rubble. Officials said thousands were also
- 16:15Speaker 5: injured when the back to back magnitude seven point two
- 16:17Speaker 5: and seven point five quakes hit. The US is rushing
- 16:21Speaker 5: search and rescue teams and humanitarians supplies to the country,
- 16:25Speaker 5: and while help for earthquake Ravach, Venezuela could face hiccups well.
- 16:30Speaker 5: While disaster supplies are being collected in Florida, Florida International
- 16:33Speaker 5: Universities doctor Dulce Suarez thinks it might take a little
- 16:37Speaker 5: bit of time to get that aid to those in need.
- 16:40Speaker 10: When a disaster occurs, security structure, the common ways you
- 16:44Speaker 10: get a container in are no longer present. So we
- 16:47Speaker 10: are managing in a disaster zone. How do we get
- 16:50Speaker 10: the aid with airports that are not working, with ports
- 16:53Speaker 10: that are destroyed.
- 16:54Speaker 5: And I don't know if you saw the video of
- 16:55Speaker 5: people running in the airport in Caracas, but just the
- 16:58Speaker 5: debris falling from the ceiling. She adds, security is also
- 17:01Speaker 5: a factor with airports imports not fully functioning. As always,
- 17:05Speaker 5: money donations provide the most immediate impact. Alcohol could be
- 17:10Speaker 5: a factor in a crash involving a law enforcement officer
- 17:13Speaker 5: in Bervard County. We talked about this yesterday. Titusville Police
- 17:16Speaker 5: Chief John Lowe crashed his unmarked police SUV Tuesday night
- 17:21Speaker 5: on Barna AB. I don't know if you saw it,
- 17:22Speaker 5: but I mean the whole damn roof of the Chevy
- 17:25Speaker 5: Tahoe I believe was ripped off. He rolled it several
- 17:28Speaker 5: several times.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Now.
- 17:29Speaker 5: He refused a drug test and was fired the next
- 17:32Speaker 5: day because apparently that violates city policy. And based on
- 17:36Speaker 5: details Titusville Police released yesterday, officers found a half empty
- 17:41Speaker 5: bottle of vodka in the car Yetti that apparently smelled
- 17:45Speaker 5: like vodka. Loo's speech seems slurred, and his eyes were bloodshot.
- 17:50Speaker 5: FHP is in charge of the investigation and no charges
- 17:53Speaker 5: have been filed, but that has a lot of Titusville
- 17:55Speaker 5: residents upset.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Think about this.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Tiger Woods had a rollover and his ascot to into jail,
- 18:00Speaker 5: and he also refused to take a drug or blood
- 18:04Speaker 5: test or breath or blood test at the scene.
- 18:06Speaker 2: He was still booked into jail.
- 18:08Speaker 5: This guy rolls his police issued, city issued vehicle, they
- 18:12Speaker 5: find half empty bottle of vodka and his physical condition
- 18:17Speaker 5: and he hasn't been.
- 18:17Speaker 4: A restaurants personal You're exaggerating because it was really I
- 18:21Speaker 4: would say about you know, three eighth seventy.
- 18:26Speaker 2: And by the way, those events are mutually exclusive too.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I mean, you know, him losing his job has nothing
- 18:31Speaker 2: to do with him driving drunk. I mean it does,
- 18:33Speaker 2: but it doesn't. Those are two separate events. He could
- 18:35Speaker 2: be charged for the driving drunk and reckless driving or
- 18:38Speaker 2: whatever it takes, and loses job. What you're saying is
- 18:40Speaker 2: they've done nothing to him criminally, They just it just
- 18:43Speaker 2: cost him his job.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Well, I mean exactly because he refused to take the
- 18:47Speaker 5: blug or the blood or urine tests.
- 18:50Speaker 2: But he's still supposed he's supposed to lose his license
- 18:52Speaker 2: for a year just by doing that. Yes, I mean,
- 18:55Speaker 2: I mean when you refuse the test, I think it's
- 18:56Speaker 2: an automatic you lose your license for a year.
- 18:58Speaker 5: But again, you know, when you take another high profile
- 19:01Speaker 5: rollover case with Tiger Woods did the exact same things
- 19:06Speaker 5: and he was hauled off to jail, it just seems
- 19:08Speaker 5: a little bit of extra care being taken with this
- 19:13Speaker 5: person that would not be afforded to everybody else.
- 19:15Speaker 7: It's because he was a police chief, exactly, exactly missed opportunity.
- 19:19Speaker 7: There's not many times where somebody can give themselves a duy,
- 19:25Speaker 7: you know, talking to him.
- 19:31Speaker 2: The vehicle and know, you know, any probable cause. I
- 19:34Speaker 2: mean alcohol, I don't drink.
- 19:36Speaker 5: And by the way, if you want an interesting take
- 19:39Speaker 5: on this story read our texting service and what somebody
- 19:41Speaker 5: just sent us at seven seven zero three one about
- 19:44Speaker 5: when they lived in.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Titusville what they used to see?
- 19:48Speaker 5: All right to Governor DeSantis, I'm a little shocked by this.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Has vetoed a bill that would have tightened regulations on
- 19:54Speaker 5: e bikes and scooters. Speaking in Lakeland, the governor says
- 19:58Speaker 5: he didn't like a provision setting speed limits when pedestrians
- 20:01Speaker 5: are nearby. DeSantis says that would inevitably lead to more
- 20:06Speaker 5: surveillance by law enforcement.
- 20:09Speaker 11: Do we really want to have policing of e bikes
- 20:12Speaker 11: and are you going ten miles or eight miles or whatever?
- 20:15Speaker 11: And it's just I think it was a little bit
- 20:17Speaker 11: of an overreach.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Isn't that the whole idea?
- 20:21Speaker 5: DeSantis also opposed the bill for creating a task force
- 20:25Speaker 5: to create more e bike rules. Now, keep in mind
- 20:28Speaker 5: the bill had bipartisan support and passed both houses of
- 20:31Speaker 5: the legislature unanimously, at the same time that he did
- 20:35Speaker 5: sign a separate measure renaming too South Florida highways in
- 20:38Speaker 5: honor of Charlie Kirk and President Trump.
- 20:41Speaker 4: So if it was passed unanimously, isn't that veto proof.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I don't think so was it. It's Florida. It's Florida.
- 20:49Speaker 2: That's all I could say.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Like, if he doesn't sign it, it would still go
- 20:52Speaker 4: into law at a certain amount of time without a signature,
- 20:55Speaker 4: or if he vetos it, then they can overturn the
- 20:57Speaker 4: veto if it was unanimous. It seems like the will
- 21:01Speaker 4: of Congress can override the beat.
- 21:04Speaker 2: That's a good point. I didn't think about that. Yeah,
- 21:05Speaker 2: but yeah, yeah, because if he doesn't sign it after
- 21:07Speaker 2: a period of time and it will go into play, Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 2: twenty days or whatever it is, fifteen day, thirty days,
- 21:12Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 21:13Speaker 7: This is the one time I think everyone's asking please
- 21:16Speaker 7: please tread on me.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, please this especially as you know a father
- 21:22Speaker 5: of young children. I mean, this is probably going to
- 21:24Speaker 5: be something he's gonna have to deal with it in
- 21:25Speaker 5: his own household.
- 21:26Speaker 2: And I think across the nation, isn't the legislation When
- 21:29Speaker 2: it comes to e bikes and scooters, part of it
- 21:31Speaker 2: is the speed they can go. Like, yes, the last
- 21:33Speaker 2: I think the last legislation we heard about, I forget
- 21:35Speaker 2: where it is. I want to say it's like in
- 21:37Speaker 2: Vegas word it was that the whole idea was to
- 21:39Speaker 2: reduce the speed of the things. They don't need to
- 21:41Speaker 2: go forty five miles an hour. Yeah, the scooters don't.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I guess the bikes can. But even then, I mean,
- 21:47Speaker 2: that's really fast.
- 21:48Speaker 4: In the eighties did get thirty yeah exactly, and that's
- 21:52Speaker 4: if I was crouching down right there, cut down down
- 21:54Speaker 4: the wind resistance at that good helmet.
- 21:56Speaker 5: I can't remember if it was Brandon Kravitz or Glenn Klausman,
- 21:58Speaker 5: but but somebody said they're no longer bicycles.
- 22:01Speaker 2: They really are motorcycles. Yeah, credit said that.
- 22:03Speaker 7: Yeah, it's not the scooters that I've gone on. They're
- 22:07Speaker 7: not going forty five, but they're fast enough that I'm like,
- 22:10Speaker 7: I should not be on this.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah exactly. I just took a turn a little too
- 22:13Speaker 2: wide and it was out of my control.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Without safety gear and stuff. All right, Well we'll see
- 22:18Speaker 5: if that changes oish legislative session.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I had no beers in me all right.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Thanks to recent rain drought, conditions are significantly better in
- 22:25Speaker 5: East central Florida. And this is a big deal because
- 22:28Speaker 5: right we had the Agriculture Commissioner earlier this week say
- 22:31Speaker 5: there will be no fireworks bands yes, but then you
- 22:34Speaker 5: have places like Orange County that are still under an
- 22:38Speaker 5: active burn band. So there's all these kinds of questions
- 22:41Speaker 5: with local officials as to well, where are we on this?
- 22:44Speaker 5: So the National Weather Service released its latest Drought Information
- 22:47Speaker 5: statement yesterday. Drought is measured, We've talked about this before
- 22:50Speaker 5: on a zero to four scale, with four being the
- 22:53Speaker 5: worst and the worst conditions at least in our area
- 22:56Speaker 5: are at two, and that's considered severe drought. That would
- 23:00Speaker 5: be us in Lake County, Inland Volusha County, think Deltona
- 23:04Speaker 5: de Berry, much of Seminole County, sorry Jack, and northern
- 23:08Speaker 5: Orange County.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Why did you make a sound like a penguin? Sometimes
- 23:15Speaker 2: sometimes he scrooges, man, I don't know.
- 23:18Speaker 5: The NWS says drought conditions are expected to improve as
- 23:21Speaker 5: the wet season continues the next couple of months.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Utah had to just cancel all firework shows in
- 23:28Speaker 2: their state. Ooh yeah for the Fourth of July weekend,
- 23:32Speaker 2: like they made a special thing on the two hundred
- 23:34Speaker 2: and fiftieth anniversary.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Right, Speaking of the environment, environmental groups are still taking
- 23:39Speaker 5: the state to court over the environmental impact of the
- 23:41Speaker 5: now defunct Everglades immigration facility. Friends of the Everglades executive
- 23:46Speaker 5: director Eve Sample says transferring detainees out of the facility
- 23:49Speaker 5: isn't enough. Sample says the state bypassed required environmental reviews
- 23:54Speaker 5: before building Alligator Alcatraz. Do you guys remember how long
- 23:58Speaker 5: this or how short the thing took to build? Oh yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 5: and it's closing less than a year before it's even
- 24:03Speaker 5: been open.
- 24:05Speaker 2: It's a tent city. They put it up in a month,
- 24:06Speaker 2: didn't they.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Nope, Jack, you want to take a guess how long
- 24:09Speaker 5: it took to build Alligator Alcatraz?
- 24:11Speaker 2: Three months? I'll go eight months? How about eight days? Damn? Really? Yep?
- 24:17Speaker 12: And we are actually poised to return to District Court
- 24:20Speaker 12: in Miami this month with the additional information we have
- 24:24Speaker 12: now about the costs at Alligator Alcatraz the impacts and
- 24:29Speaker 12: they continue to be concerting.
- 24:31Speaker 2: She says.
- 24:31Speaker 5: Legally, the state caused potential harm to protected species and
- 24:34Speaker 5: wetland ecosystems, in addition to using taxpayer funded land for
- 24:38Speaker 5: a detention facility instead of conservation. Blue Origin CEO is
- 24:43Speaker 5: pleased with the progress he's seeing since a rocket exploded
- 24:46Speaker 5: on the launch pad. Dave Limp announced yesterday all debris.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Not the farmer.
- 24:53Speaker 5: It is when you're launching rockets and your last name
- 24:56Speaker 5: is Limp.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Your last name being Limp isn't buddy into a woman
- 25:00Speaker 2: says it and then pauses the second afterwards. Yeah, then
- 25:02Speaker 2: it's fun. Could have been dud. How's the rocket business going? Yeah?
- 25:08Speaker 5: I think that would be yea Yeah anyway, Limp said yesterday.
- 25:14Speaker 5: All debris has been cleared from Launch Complex thirty six
- 25:17Speaker 5: since last month's explosion at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station,
- 25:20Speaker 5: he writes on x reconstruction has started in Blue Origin
- 25:24Speaker 5: still plans to fly again this year.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Limp needs a Blue Origin show your life needs a
- 25:33Speaker 2: blue He needs a blue flue. He can't. He needs
- 25:38Speaker 2: a blue organ needs he needs a fly aggress.
- 25:40Speaker 5: I am so sorry, Dave, but you're the show. Yeah,
- 25:45Speaker 5: you're a good man.
- 25:46Speaker 7: Dude, his nickname, his name is d Limp.
- 25:53Speaker 5: Can't do that, and he needs a Blue Origin Richard though. Meanwhile,
- 25:58Speaker 5: SpaceX says, hold my beer because a Falcon nine rocket
- 26:01Speaker 5: is set to launch this weekend. A satellite radio will
- 26:04Speaker 5: launch from Florida Space Coast Sunday night or early Monday morning.
- 26:07Speaker 5: The rocket launches are most visible from the Space coast,
- 26:10Speaker 5: but it can also be seen from the Treasure coast
- 26:13Speaker 5: of Vlusia County, and every once in a while I
- 26:15Speaker 5: can even spot them over a standing in the middle
- 26:18Speaker 5: of the road in front of my house.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I'll tell you, if I was musk for the Bezos thing,
- 26:21Speaker 2: I will FaceTime and like, how you doing, Jeb, how's
- 26:23Speaker 2: thing going? In the background, there'd be one of my
- 26:25Speaker 2: rockets going off just while we're talking, all right.
- 26:29Speaker 5: National Weather Service mediaurologist Sandy Hotty says another major Saharan
- 26:33Speaker 5: dust plume is expected to waft over Florida, but.
- 26:37Speaker 13: There is a much larger plume further to the east
- 26:39Speaker 13: over the Eastern Caribbean Sea to north of Puerto Rico
- 26:42Speaker 13: that is forecast to pass over our region during the
- 26:45Speaker 13: upcoming weekend.
- 26:46Speaker 5: So as a result of the dust, the tropics are
- 26:48Speaker 5: going to remain quiet, that's the good news. But we're
- 26:50Speaker 5: also going to continue to see below normal rainfall over
- 26:53Speaker 5: the weekend, and it's going to be a devil's b
- 26:56Speaker 5: h hot The meteorologist name haughty Sandy Hatty.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Talking about a dust plumes. Name is Sandy and he's
- 27:05Speaker 4: a meteorology.
- 27:06Speaker 5: It's no different than Left talking about a blue origin.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow, this is the main episode. It is. And
- 27:13Speaker 2: what if they get married to be Limpin haughty?
- 27:14Speaker 7: Yeah, like do you think they would get along?
- 27:21Speaker 2: You know, usually one leads to the opposite of the other.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Florida is offering free admission to state parks over the
- 27:29Speaker 5: fourth of July weekend if you've got family coming into town.
- 27:32Speaker 5: That includes what Kaiva Springs, Lake Louisa, Kissimi, and Alafaia River.
- 27:37Speaker 5: State parks official say entry fees will be waved July
- 27:41Speaker 5: third through the fifth for day use visitors. The deal
- 27:43Speaker 5: applies to both Florida residents and visitors as part of
- 27:46Speaker 5: the nation's two hundred and fifty anniversary celebration.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Very cool, Yeah, the parks. I saw something on I
- 27:53Speaker 2: think the local sixth Day, which will be click Orlando,
- 27:56Speaker 2: and it was just basically a list of all the
- 27:57Speaker 2: cool stuff the parks are doing for the two fiftieth
- 27:59Speaker 2: and then there is and there is no shortage of
- 28:02Speaker 2: patriotism if you want to go to the parks and
- 28:04Speaker 2: enjoy that.
- 28:05Speaker 5: You know what I've found out today that I thought
- 28:07Speaker 5: was really cool. While we're celebrating our two hundred and
- 28:10Speaker 5: fiftieth anniversary or celebration.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Saint Augustine is celebrating five hundred. Damn, really that's crazy. Yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 2: you're right now, Yeah, five hundred.
- 28:17Speaker 7: That feels a little controversial if they're celebrating that, right,
- 28:22Speaker 7: you're included in the fifty as well.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they're the only people that don't have to come. Yeah, exactly, party,
- 28:28Speaker 2: we don't have to get any exactly. We were here first.
- 28:30Speaker 5: So this state is being hailed as a national leader
- 28:33Speaker 5: and drunk driving prevention.
- 28:37Speaker 2: And you said it's out of the it's just for me.
- 28:40Speaker 2: I was like, oh wow, I would not have I
- 28:42Speaker 2: would not have thought that.
- 28:43Speaker 5: I'll go about that state specifically exactly. I would have thought,
- 28:46Speaker 5: oh no, that's not the stay. I would have picked Hawaii.
- 28:48Speaker 5: I I'll go Nevada. I'm gonna go New York. This
- 28:57Speaker 5: is a difficult one. We're gonna give you guys another
- 28:59Speaker 5: shot jack. You go first this time.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Alaska. I'll go South Carolina. I'm going to go South Dakota.
- 29:08Speaker 2: How about Arkansas? Is it really well? Arkansas? Arkansas? Arkansas?
- 29:13Speaker 2: It checks out to me. Now.
- 29:14Speaker 5: According to a thirst Ay report from Mothers Against Drunk Driving,
- 29:18Speaker 5: Arkansas received a perfect one hundred out of one hundred.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Score damn really seriously again, I know, yeah, Arkansas.
- 29:29Speaker 5: The Safety Group cites these states closing of major loopholes
- 29:35Speaker 5: as well as adding ignition interlock devices wow, which blocks
- 29:40Speaker 5: a vehicle from starting if alcohol is detected. Do you
- 29:43Speaker 5: know how many over the last five years mothers against
- 29:46Speaker 5: drunk driving? Do you know how many drunk drivers they
- 29:49Speaker 5: estimate have been kept off the roads over the last
- 29:51Speaker 5: five years because of those interlock devices nationally?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Nationally, oh, ten thousand, uh thirty thou shoot the gap
- 30:00Speaker 2: fifteen thousand, it's like over twenty million. Damn is it
- 30:03Speaker 2: really twenty million?
- 30:05Speaker 5: Well, and you think around around the country, all all
- 30:08Speaker 5: the people who had interlock devices in their.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Cars, twenty million one they got into.
- 30:13Speaker 5: About half the country received failing grade. Damn really, And
- 30:18Speaker 5: that's important to keep in mind. We've got a very
- 30:20Speaker 5: big holiday coming up. You got your Uber, You've got
- 30:22Speaker 5: your Lyft. Yeah, I'm sure you know, Triple A is
- 30:25Speaker 5: gonna come out with their Tote Go program. There's going
- 30:28Speaker 5: to be all kinds of options to make the right choices.
- 30:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:32Speaker 5: And that concludes your JCS news.

- 31:46Speaker 5: five degrees. But I feel like tenp of one to ten,
- 31:48Speaker 5: you can tell that that is true.
- 31:51Speaker 2: What is it that they're in Balmy, Toronto? I don't know.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Maybe I don't know.
- 31:55Speaker 9: In the seventies, I'm gonna guess. Yeah, it's really nice.
- 31:58Speaker 9: You're very nice, as if you could be hated. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 9: you should go do that. Do you take your clubs
- 32:03Speaker 9: by the way you do that?
- 32:04Speaker 2: I did? I played, I've played twice so far, No,
- 32:07Speaker 2: three times. Nice, very nice, very nice. Ifaya has caused us.
- 32:12Speaker 2: On Fridays we talk about what's going on in the
- 32:14Speaker 2: culinary scene in Central Florida, which is, you know, robust
- 32:17Speaker 2: these days and always something going on. What's happening, buddy,
- 32:20Speaker 2: what's out there?
- 32:22Speaker 9: Well, you know, it's been a while since we've spoken.
- 32:23Speaker 9: I think it's been three weeks. Three weeks, yeah, okay,
- 32:26Speaker 9: So I thought we'd we'd cover maybe two reviews, one
- 32:30Speaker 9: of which is a place called Okonomi, which is inside
- 32:33Speaker 9: Mills Market, right there on the corner of Mills and Colonial.
- 32:36Speaker 9: And if folks out there, you know, can't or maybe
- 32:40Speaker 9: won't foot the three hundred and fifty dollars bill to
- 32:42Speaker 9: dine at the two Michelin Starsakara, which is arguably our
- 32:47Speaker 9: finest fine dining locale in the city, you can drop
- 32:50Speaker 9: a fraction of a fraction of that cost at Okonobe
- 32:54Speaker 9: because it's run by the same chef, William Shan is
- 32:56Speaker 9: his name, and the the same cuts that he is serving,
- 33:00Speaker 9: the same cuts of fish that he's serving at Soakara
- 33:04Speaker 9: are served here at Okonomi. It's like a ten seat
- 33:06Speaker 9: sushi bar right inside the market, inside that very bustling market.
- 33:10Speaker 9: And I'm telling you there are cuts here that folks
- 33:14Speaker 9: have access to that you will not find anywhere else,
- 33:17Speaker 9: maybe not even in the countries. Because William Schen he's
- 33:20Speaker 9: forged these relationships with Japanese fishermen and he gets fish
- 33:25Speaker 9: delivered directly to him from there. Sometimes he's getting stuff
- 33:29Speaker 9: from to so you market there in Tokyo. But he's
- 33:32Speaker 9: developed this really close relationship with numerous fishermen that you'll
- 33:36Speaker 9: get cuts. Like what you're looking at here is ocean trap,
- 33:39Speaker 9: which is which is not an uncommon fish. But he
- 33:41Speaker 9: serves an m us you know before before you you know,
- 33:46Speaker 9: before you dine. And the good thing here is that
- 33:48Speaker 9: this is sort of like the anti Omakase joint.
- 33:51Speaker 2: It is, you know, he serves.
- 33:53Speaker 9: There's a menu there of twenty four items and you
- 33:55Speaker 9: can just pick and choose what you want. There's also
- 33:58Speaker 9: six additional items as specials. But there there cuts the
- 34:01Speaker 9: fish uh niggary, mainly niagary. And like I said you,
- 34:06Speaker 9: I've I've had fisher that I've never even heard of
- 34:08Speaker 9: or let alone ever tasted in my life. One of
- 34:11Speaker 9: which is the is a fish called the and if
- 34:15Speaker 9: you're watching on YouTube, yeah.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I'm trying to read the names off to the side.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I saw the word grunt in one way, grunt right right.
- 34:25Speaker 9: So the first fish is a green eye fish, which
- 34:28Speaker 9: is easily one of the most boldest fish that that
- 34:30Speaker 9: I've ever tasted. It's it's a very fishy fish. Of
- 34:33Speaker 9: people who like mackerel and those sorts of things, you
- 34:36Speaker 9: will love this fish. And it's from Ukushima, so you
- 34:38Speaker 9: can make your own sort of nuclear jokes here. But yeah,
- 34:42Speaker 9: but that grunt a three line grunt. I've never heard
- 34:45Speaker 9: of this. And what what the chef here does? He
- 34:47Speaker 9: is he he sort of feathers the fish. He cuts
- 34:49Speaker 9: it in a way so it's almost like feathered. And
- 34:52Speaker 9: he he puts like a nikiri soy which is like
- 34:55Speaker 9: a premium a premium soy on there.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Uh.
- 34:59Speaker 9: He kisses it with in Chatan coals as well, so
- 35:01Speaker 9: it has a little bit of that green flavor. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 35:04Speaker 9: three line grunt. There's a hookaido sardine. And in this
- 35:08Speaker 9: sardine and again, if you're watching on YouTube right now,
- 35:11Speaker 9: you can see numerous slits in this small cut of sardine.
- 35:15Speaker 9: There are seventy two cuts, seventy two slits in this
- 35:19Speaker 9: in this piece of fish. And it's part of an
- 35:21Speaker 9: art form called kakushi bocho, which is really the art
- 35:25Speaker 9: of cutting fish. So that absorbs the most flavor it yeah,
- 35:30Speaker 9: and you get the most out of that fish. So
- 35:32Speaker 9: there are seventy two slits in this thing. The chef here,
- 35:35Speaker 9: Kevin Abania, he used to be at Soseki. He is truly,
- 35:39Speaker 9: truly like a master of sushi.
- 35:41Speaker 2: He had a question.
- 35:42Speaker 7: No, it's also just the Japanese art form of turning
- 35:45Speaker 7: fish into the sides of elephants, because that's what that
- 35:49Speaker 7: looks like.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that doesn't even look like it looks
- 35:52Speaker 2: like something else that looks like a masteroid or something
- 35:56Speaker 2: you see crawling in a jungle, like up a tree
- 35:59Speaker 2: or something weird. I know, weird bug.
- 36:02Speaker 9: Yeah, it's really it's you know, when you come, when
- 36:04Speaker 9: it comes to anything Japanese, it's you know, there's always
- 36:07Speaker 9: sort of like this aesthetic angle to everything. Yeah, you know,
- 36:11Speaker 9: whether it's furniture or fish, you know, it always looks very,
- 36:14Speaker 9: very pretty.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Is it always seventy two slices on a piece of fish?
- 36:19Speaker 2: Is it always seventy two?
- 36:21Speaker 9: I look, when I tried to count with my poor eyesight,
- 36:24Speaker 9: I counted sixty slits. But then somebody you know, slid
- 36:27Speaker 9: into my DMS and corrected me and say, no, there's
- 36:29Speaker 9: actually seventy two slits in each one of these guts.
- 36:32Speaker 9: I'm like, wow, okay, well I need to get better glass,
- 36:35Speaker 9: isn't it, because.
- 36:36Speaker 2: They must be fifty bucks apiece for that labor cost.
- 36:39Speaker 9: My got almighty, you would think, But I think everything
- 36:41Speaker 9: here is like five six bucks maybe eight bucks, you know,
- 36:44Speaker 9: so like, and the thing is there's a minimum to
- 36:47Speaker 9: two piece order, so you can just go in and
- 36:49Speaker 9: just have a taste. You can just get like a
- 36:51Speaker 9: couple of pieces of fish, drop like whatever ten fifteen
- 36:54Speaker 9: bucks and get out of there, and and what you'll try.
- 36:57Speaker 9: I guarantee you what you will try here will you
- 37:00Speaker 9: will not be able to try any worlds in the city,
- 37:02Speaker 9: maybe even the state or the country, because, like I said,
- 37:05Speaker 9: he's getting cuts of fish that I have never even
- 37:07Speaker 9: heard of. I've never heard of a three line grunt gym,
- 37:09Speaker 9: have you no, no, no, My wife has called me
- 37:12Speaker 9: that before. Ye dated a couple Miami. So yeah, you
- 37:18Speaker 9: strongly recommend this place. I really recommend people who love
- 37:21Speaker 9: sushi and who want to try that high end Michelin star,
- 37:25Speaker 9: you know, like you, especially if you can't afford to
- 37:27Speaker 9: go to Sorakar because that's three hundred fifty plus dollars,
- 37:30Speaker 9: go here, get a taste of what you know, what
- 37:33Speaker 9: they serve there at Sora Car because William Shen is
- 37:35Speaker 9: an outstanding chip very nice.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Let's move on to Uppsala Grocery. Now I've heard a
- 37:39Speaker 2: little bit about this, but I'm not one hundred percent
- 37:41Speaker 2: sure exactly what it is.
- 37:43Speaker 9: This like on the opposite end of the culinary spectrum
- 37:47Speaker 9: is yeah, a place called Obsala Grocery.
- 37:49Speaker 2: It's in Sandford, three Hundredubsala Road. I believe.
- 37:52Speaker 9: It's a convenience store that's been there since twenty fifteen,
- 37:56Speaker 9: and it's run by A J.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Patel.
- 37:59Speaker 9: And not only does he run the convenience store with
- 38:02Speaker 9: his with his uncle, whose name I believe is Ni Lesh,
- 38:06Speaker 9: but he he you know, he fancies himself a bit
- 38:09Speaker 9: of a gourmand and he wants to open a Michelin
- 38:11Speaker 9: star restaurant is what he wants to do. But he
- 38:14Speaker 9: has transformed a corner of this grocery store into a
- 38:17Speaker 9: bona fide kitchen. He's put a hood in there and
- 38:20Speaker 9: people have been going here for their Philly cheese steak sandwiches.
- 38:22Speaker 9: But since twenty eighteen, he's he's expanded the menu and
- 38:26Speaker 9: this place has become a hotbed of supreme sandwiches and
- 38:32Speaker 9: handheld and a lot of your Sandford listeners maybe a
- 38:35Speaker 9: little pissed that I'm you know, mentioning this.
- 38:38Speaker 2: You're blowing the spot up. It's a it's like a
- 38:39Speaker 2: little hidden gym in Sandford.
- 38:42Speaker 9: Exactly, Jim, Exactly, It's a hidden gym. It's like on
- 38:44Speaker 9: Upsalad Road. It's not in a very you know, busy
- 38:48Speaker 9: busy area. And but I'm telling you the handhelds and
- 38:51Speaker 9: the sandwiches he's making here are outstanding. We actually went there.
- 38:54Speaker 9: There was this sandwich, you know, making the rounds of
- 38:57Speaker 9: a local viral dum. It was the black garlic kotsu sandwich.
- 39:02Speaker 9: Could have been a burger. Maybe it was a black
- 39:04Speaker 9: kotsu black garlic cotsue burger. So we went there. It's
- 39:08Speaker 9: a panke fried burger. There's uh, you know, there's cabbage,
- 39:11Speaker 9: there's slaw in there. You know, there's there's there's melted cheese,
- 39:15Speaker 9: there's a runny egg and and and.
- 39:18Speaker 2: He does like a black garlic aola. You no, no,
- 39:20Speaker 2: my gosh.
- 39:20Speaker 9: And and you're again if you're watching on YouTube and
- 39:22Speaker 9: see a picture of it there. So this was making
- 39:24Speaker 9: the rounds on Reddit and all these sights, and so
- 39:27Speaker 9: we you know, decided to go and try it out.
- 39:29Speaker 9: When we went there, we realized, oh, my god, no,
- 39:31Speaker 9: only is this sandwich great, Actually there's a little barbecue
- 39:34Speaker 9: sauce in there, which I thought maybe interfered a little
- 39:36Speaker 9: bit with the with the total flavors of the sandwich.
- 39:39Speaker 9: You know, I'd rather he went with like I don't know,
- 39:41Speaker 9: like a Terry Yaki or some others. God of his house.
- 39:42Speaker 9: But anyway, at the point is it's it's a marvelous sandwich.
- 39:45Speaker 9: It's on a Martin's potato. So not only does he
- 39:48Speaker 9: make this great, like everything he does there, be it
- 39:50Speaker 9: as Philly cheese steaks or his chopped cheese. The Casa
- 39:53Speaker 9: da is my favorite thing. There was the Tika Masala
- 39:57Speaker 9: Caesa Dia. Yeah, oh yeah, I'm actually not a big
- 40:02Speaker 9: case of da.
- 40:03Speaker 2: I you know, I'd rather have a taco or costada
- 40:06Speaker 2: or yeah you had me at Tikaye Tika.
- 40:11Speaker 9: I'm telling you, it's not that far from the Tika
- 40:13Speaker 9: Masala Caesa Dia. And even the owner Jay prefers this
- 40:16Speaker 9: over the Tika Masala sandwich, which is a a chicken sandwich.
- 40:21Speaker 9: You know, it's Nashville by way of Bombay. You knows
- 40:25Speaker 9: a break sandwich.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, it's cool. Idea. By the way, doing
- 40:28Speaker 2: the chicken the tick of masala thing is like an
- 40:30Speaker 2: actual chicken thing. It's smart. Yeah.
- 40:32Speaker 9: So he's kind of like confused Indian flavors to some
- 40:34Speaker 9: of the sandwiches, but then he goes full Japanese.
- 40:36Speaker 2: He goes full like American.
- 40:38Speaker 9: If you want like a chopped cheese or a Philly
- 40:39Speaker 9: cheese steak, those Tunuri fries are frigging fire man.
- 40:42Speaker 2: I highly recommend you got that. And then there's like
- 40:45Speaker 2: all these craft beers, like he the craft beer selection
- 40:48Speaker 2: here is is incredible, like you can. There's only like
- 40:52Speaker 2: one sort of.
- 40:54Speaker 9: Uh, you know table there, you could call it, you know,
- 40:56Speaker 9: just right by the checkout register. You can you can
- 40:59Speaker 9: dine in there. But really a lot of people just
- 41:00Speaker 9: come here and take out. But the Kraft beer selection
- 41:03Speaker 9: here is is outstanding.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Like you you can. You can have your fill of
- 41:08Speaker 2: any variety of of Kraft beer. How does the mango
- 41:11Speaker 2: have an arrow chicken sandwich? I think Jack went by
- 41:13Speaker 2: that a second ago. It's up here and it looked
- 41:15Speaker 2: pretty darn good. That's it.
- 41:16Speaker 9: So when I went back, So when I when I
- 41:18Speaker 9: was somebody against lid in my DMS, he goes, yo,
- 41:20Speaker 9: did you try the mango have a narrow sandwich?
- 41:22Speaker 2: I'm like, no idea.
- 41:23Speaker 9: So when I went back, I'm made sure to get it,
- 41:26Speaker 9: and it is fantastic.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I this is probably my favorite sandwich there.
- 41:31Speaker 9: You know, there's also a black There's also a garlic
- 41:35Speaker 9: Ayoli smash burger, which is also I prefer that over
- 41:39Speaker 9: the black Garley Cotsk Burger to be honest. But I'm
- 41:41Speaker 9: telling you, whatever handheld you end up getting, be it
- 41:44Speaker 9: a burger, a case of dia, or sandwich, whatever it is,
- 41:47Speaker 9: it's you're going to love this.
- 41:49Speaker 2: And by the way, you are right. You're getting your
- 41:50Speaker 2: ass handed to you on the Tech service and they're
- 41:53Speaker 2: saying that j Neil and Justin and Absala are the
- 41:56Speaker 2: coolest people. You get a five star sandwich and a
- 41:58Speaker 2: Magnum condom. It says when you look up up Solid
- 42:03Speaker 2: Grocery on Google Maps, the parking lot is mobbed. Also,
- 42:06Speaker 2: it says, don't talk about them Solid Grocery. It's a
- 42:09Speaker 2: complete secret, and everybody in Sandford is gonna be really
- 42:12Speaker 2: pissed at you. Now. I'm I'm so happy. I'm so happy.
- 42:15Speaker 2: I'm in Canada right now if no can find me.
- 42:17Speaker 9: But yeah, yeah, I'm sorry to all you San Ferdians folk.
- 42:26Speaker 2: But yeah, this place is just too good not to
- 42:28Speaker 2: not to write. I love it. Yeah, yeah, that's very awesome.
- 42:30Speaker 2: We love those little secret spots, tell us about some
- 42:32Speaker 2: new ice cream shops out there.
- 42:34Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 42:34Speaker 9: Here, it's really hot down there. So uh right, let
- 42:38Speaker 9: me let me talk about some new ice cream joints.
- 42:40Speaker 9: So in winter Park at five and one North Orlando Avenue,
- 42:43Speaker 9: where you know the old Kmart plaza is, uh, you know,
- 42:45Speaker 9: there's the CBS. Right over there is a place called
- 42:48Speaker 9: Lot Deeperrie and it's actually uh I think they're from
- 42:52Speaker 9: Canada actually, and they serve everything from soft served to cookies,
- 42:55Speaker 9: to donuts, to cheesecakes. And their thing is that they
- 42:59Speaker 9: you can dip everything in like eighteen different chocolate sauces.
- 43:02Speaker 9: There's like a variety of toppings. Yeah, so they just
- 43:05Speaker 9: open their brand new another place in Mills fifty called Cache,
- 43:10Speaker 9: and I think we may have talked about this before,
- 43:12Speaker 9: but it's a it's a dessert house that specializes in
- 43:15Speaker 9: Vietnamese dessert soups, and these dessert suits they're they're served cold.
- 43:19Speaker 9: They have like a you know, they have a syrupy
- 43:21Speaker 9: base or a rich coconut milk base, and they have
- 43:24Speaker 9: everything from like tropical fruit jellies to you know, beans
- 43:28Speaker 9: sometimes are in their sticky rice and there I believe
- 43:32Speaker 9: they're at twelve twenty East Colonial Driving and right in
- 43:36Speaker 9: the heart of Meals fifty. And then over in Baldwin
- 43:39Speaker 9: Park where the there used to be an ice cream store.
- 43:42Speaker 9: They are called ice Ice New York yce and why
- 43:45Speaker 9: it's now a place called Scoop and Shake, and again
- 43:48Speaker 9: they also specialize in rolled ice cream. And then over
- 43:52Speaker 9: in Disney Springs at Morimoto Asia there's a Marimoto Asia
- 43:57Speaker 9: has just launched their new kackagory cart is called Cockygory
- 44:00Speaker 9: Cool and they'll be they'll be there indefinitely, at least
- 44:03Speaker 9: for the whole summer, and you can try cocky Gory.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Russ. Roll the ice cream yeah or nay? Is
- 44:08Speaker 2: it a trend that sticks around? What does Faia say
- 44:11Speaker 2: about roll the ice cream? Well, I think it's I
- 44:14Speaker 2: think it's it's been around for a while, so I
- 44:16Speaker 2: think it's. Uh, it may not be a trend anymore
- 44:19Speaker 2: because we've seen it at various places. There used to
- 44:21Speaker 2: be a very popular chain of rolled ice cream. It's
- 44:23Speaker 2: name Escaping now and we just go to that place
- 44:25Speaker 2: in Baldon Park. It actually was pretty good. We get
- 44:27Speaker 2: the Biscoff rolled ice cream, which it would put it
- 44:30Speaker 2: on that cold plate ross and roll it around and
- 44:32Speaker 2: then make it right there, and we loved it. Actually,
- 44:34Speaker 2: it was pretty durn good. I like you Marble Marble
- 44:36Speaker 2: slab creamery area they did someone that rolled. Yeah, I
- 44:40Speaker 2: like it because it's like an ice cream taketo. And
- 44:43Speaker 2: then when you go ahead and then hit it with
- 44:45Speaker 2: the spoon, it's kind of like whipped ice cream because
- 44:49Speaker 2: it's layered, so it's got a somewhat of a different texture,
- 44:52Speaker 2: but as soon as it melts, it all becomes the
- 44:54Speaker 2: same thing. Yeah. But dude, I gotta tell you that
- 44:55Speaker 2: mango sticky rice ice cream they had there for a
- 44:57Speaker 2: while was one of the best things ever. I mean,
- 44:59Speaker 2: it was absolutely out of bounds. It was so good.
- 45:03Speaker 2: I like it too. I like it too. Yes, all right,
- 45:06Speaker 2: and then let's do one last thing. What is paper Kites.
- 45:08Speaker 2: And we got to get out of hereuse we're late
- 45:09Speaker 2: paper Kite. So the hoods Up Space.
- 45:11Speaker 9: Everyone knows the hoods Up Space there in the Milk
- 45:13Speaker 9: district there, So it'll be taken over by our friends
- 45:17Speaker 9: Jason and Souchin. They're going to open up their a
- 45:20Speaker 9: concept called paper Kites is going to be a Korean pub.
- 45:24Speaker 9: The name paper Kites is. It sort of refers to
- 45:27Speaker 9: Korean folklore where flying paper kites was meant to be
- 45:31Speaker 9: a way to like ward off bad omens and invite,
- 45:35Speaker 9: you know, good fortune. So paper Kites is going to
- 45:38Speaker 9: be Korean pub. There'll be obviously a lot of booze,
- 45:41Speaker 9: a lot of beer, and then Korean type snacks. Yeah,
- 45:44Speaker 9: they haven't really released like the full menu. They're you know,
- 45:48Speaker 9: I think they're closely guarding, you know, information being released
- 45:52Speaker 9: of the public. But you know, we actually talked about
- 45:56Speaker 9: this a few months ago, and I told all your
- 45:58Speaker 9: listeners that you know, you have access to in for
- 46:00Speaker 9: Mason here.
- 46:00Speaker 2: That really isn't out there yet.
- 46:02Speaker 9: I probably shouldn't have said anything, but but anyway, and
- 46:05Speaker 9: now it's come to fruition very. I always thought it
- 46:08Speaker 9: instead of Hoods, instead of the name paper Kites, because
- 46:11Speaker 9: it's in the old hoods Up space.
- 46:13Speaker 2: I thought they should have just called it Foods Up,
- 46:17Speaker 2: you know, a restaurant. I agree with them. I think
- 46:21Speaker 2: they had a better idea. Thanks all right, but it's
- 46:30Speaker 2: always good talking to you, man. There is fiascar on
- 46:33Speaker 2: the restaurant critic for The Orlando Weekly. If you want
- 46:34Speaker 2: to read anything else, he writes, just go to Orlando

- 47:47Speaker 15: hang out with all the other listeners, all the other
- 47:50Speaker 15: radio shows and stuff like that. And I have to
- 47:53Speaker 15: get to hang out with one of the best people
- 47:54Speaker 15: in the world. Naomibatcha dot com. I get to hang

- 48:00Speaker 15: he wants. Thanks, Bye, Hey.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I think I like that. Yeah, I don't know if
- 48:05Speaker 2: i'd liked that all right, seven seven to zero three one.
- 48:08Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Colberg Show right here on
- 48:10Speaker 2: Real Radio one oh four point one. I am Jim,
- 48:11Speaker 2: there's dead Hello, Jack jo Ross here with us today.
- 48:15Speaker 2: Let's talk about blowing stof Man. If you've been listening
- 48:17Speaker 2: to Real Radio now for a little last like ten
- 48:19Speaker 2: twelve years or so, you've definitely heard this name before,
- 48:21Speaker 2: and you've definitely heard this company before. You guys, give
- 48:23Speaker 2: it up good A low for Craig la Floor from
- 48:24Speaker 2: Pirates by Fireworks. Yeah, and just to let you know
- 48:29Speaker 2: that Craig is down and he's cool. His website is
- 48:32Speaker 2: I Want Fireworks dot com. But he also has another
- 48:34Speaker 2: one called Bye Bye Fingers dot I love that, just
- 48:36Speaker 2: because we have senses of the humor in this world.
- 48:39Speaker 2: How you doing about you all right? Good?
- 48:40Speaker 16: In fact, we have a brand new bye Bye Finger
- 48:42Speaker 16: shirts this year as well. Two hundred and fifty years
- 48:45Speaker 16: of by Bye Finger.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Two hundred and fifty years. Yeah, smoking your digits. I mean,
- 48:52Speaker 2: I remember I told the story on the air. I
- 48:54Speaker 2: remember you and I were hanging out, I don't know,
- 48:55Speaker 2: a few weeks back. We went bowling, went to dinner
- 48:57Speaker 2: with our lovely wives and enjoyed a nice named which
- 49:00Speaker 2: was the first time in quite a while. And I
- 49:02Speaker 2: looked at you as we were putting on our bowling shoes,
- 49:05Speaker 2: and I said, you guys, you guys expecting a big
- 49:08Speaker 2: year this year. And you slyly turn your head to
- 49:11Speaker 2: the right, and you said, I don't know, Jim, July
- 49:13Speaker 2: fourth on a Saturday this year, and it's the America's
- 49:15Speaker 2: two hundred and fifty birthday. You tell me? And then
- 49:19Speaker 2: no rain for three weeks after you made that statement,
- 49:21Speaker 2: got it out. My god, it's been pouring rain lately.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Is how big of a stressor is that for you?
- 49:28Speaker 2: Like when this approaches and you know we've dealt with
- 49:30Speaker 2: this before.
- 49:30Speaker 16: Yeah, So, I mean twenty eleven we came really close
- 49:34Speaker 16: where they had they were threatening to limit certain things.
- 49:37Speaker 16: And we've had other years where there's a burn band
- 49:40Speaker 16: in effect, which definitely some people keep from buying fireworks.
- 49:43Speaker 16: But right now, like as we're rapping up to it,
- 49:47Speaker 16: I always tell myself, Okay, I'm not gonna even worry
- 49:50Speaker 16: about it till thirty days out because we tend to
- 49:53Speaker 16: get more rain when it hitched June, so you know,
- 49:57Speaker 16: I'm just gonna let things go. And this year I
- 50:00Speaker 16: got a little worried because we got in the first
- 50:02Speaker 16: week at June and we've still hadn't got Yeah. I
- 50:04Speaker 16: kept you know, it's supposed to rain all day to day,
- 50:06Speaker 16: and nothing would come right right right, And then finally
- 50:08Speaker 16: we started getting some nice showers.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Now it's consistent across the area, and that's what really matters.
- 50:13Speaker 2: You can't just have a bunch of downpours in one
- 50:14Speaker 2: part of town. Really, that doesn't really help out at all,
- 50:17Speaker 2: what just out of curiosity when it comes to starting fires.
- 50:20Speaker 2: The funny thing is is, like I've known you for years,
- 50:22Speaker 2: we've never really talked about which fireworks are like the
- 50:25Speaker 2: biggest hazards for that. I still think it's probably sparkler.
- 50:28Speaker 2: It's exactly right.
- 50:29Speaker 16: It's the little kids things like sparklers because they're so hot,
- 50:32Speaker 16: like if they if someone throws them down in dried
- 50:36Speaker 16: grass or something. Like most other fireworks, even fountains, are
- 50:41Speaker 16: meant to extinguish before they get anywhere near the ground,
- 50:43Speaker 16: So if you have a misfire or something like that,
- 50:46Speaker 16: there's always a chance of something happening, but it's actually
- 50:50Speaker 16: a very small percentage. The the the roman candles, and
- 50:55Speaker 16: the sparklers are probably the biggest.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Change, I'll be damn and the you know, the sparkler
- 50:58Speaker 2: doesn't even have to be going because after it's done,
- 51:00Speaker 2: I think burns like two thousand degrees or something.
- 51:02Speaker 16: Right, that's ridiculous, Hey, hand, this kid a branding iron
- 51:05Speaker 16: might run around town.
- 51:06Speaker 2: What are you thinking? Yeah, that's great. Now. You know
- 51:08Speaker 2: one of the things that you have three locations this year, Longwood,
- 51:13Speaker 2: Eustas and Sandford. There you go and you can. You
- 51:16Speaker 2: can't miss them. They have the best branding out there
- 51:17Speaker 2: and all the fireworks for sure. What's selling you now
- 51:21Speaker 2: Usually it's the mortar packages that are the things that
- 51:24Speaker 2: you know. And when I would tell people when we
- 51:25Speaker 2: ran hours, look, man, if you want a mortar package
- 51:28Speaker 2: the first day they're open. And this is again, this
- 51:31Speaker 2: is going like the poker tournament thing that firstly, the
- 51:34Speaker 2: first day they opened the tent, you should run and
- 51:37Speaker 2: grab your mortar packages and I know you're open now.
- 51:40Speaker 16: I have ordered so many this year because I knew
- 51:42Speaker 16: we were going to have a good year, and they
- 51:44Speaker 16: are flying off the shelf. But now so many of
- 51:47Speaker 16: the five hundred grand cakes. They've gotten so good that
- 51:52Speaker 16: we are seeing more people who are picking up the
- 51:55Speaker 16: big finale cakes and you know, still buying maybe a
- 51:58Speaker 16: pack of borders, but guys who would come in before
- 52:00Speaker 16: and buy like four or five pack of mortars, now
- 52:03Speaker 16: they're like maybe one or two.
- 52:05Speaker 2: And I want a whole bunch of those big shows.
- 52:08Speaker 7: So give you those reptile dysfunctions five hundred.
- 52:13Speaker 2: And by the way, that's the best thing to do.
- 52:15Speaker 2: I mean, really, that's the plug in so good. It's
- 52:18Speaker 2: the plug and play way to do fireworks. Man, you
- 52:20Speaker 2: basically have a fireworks show. You like one fuse, you
- 52:22Speaker 2: get your beer cold.
- 52:23Speaker 16: Step back, the older I get, the less I want
- 52:26Speaker 16: to do mortar. Yeah, let me light a cake and
- 52:29Speaker 16: see the whole show going.
- 52:32Speaker 2: And the cool thing is also it's not I mean, yeah,
- 52:34Speaker 2: it is fireworks for sure, but they have all the
- 52:36Speaker 2: other cool stuff like extra fuses, stuff for the kids
- 52:39Speaker 2: they have And I think you know I've said this before.
- 52:41Speaker 2: I believe if you're on a budget, one of the
- 52:43Speaker 2: best ways you can really enjoy fireworks this year is
- 52:45Speaker 2: get the two hundred gram cakes, the smaller cakes, because
- 52:48Speaker 2: not only are there they're cheaper, but they give you
- 52:51Speaker 2: a really good show. And if you have kids that
- 52:53Speaker 2: are afraid of the big bangs, these give you the big,
- 52:56Speaker 2: huge light show with.
- 52:58Speaker 16: That gentleman and today and I uh not to talk
- 53:01Speaker 16: him out of more expensive five hundred gram cakes, but
- 53:03Speaker 16: he was wanted to do a little show and we
- 53:06Speaker 16: had a five hundred gram that was on special. He
- 53:08Speaker 16: had grabbed that and he was looking at the other
- 53:10Speaker 16: ones and I said, well, have you looked on the
- 53:11Speaker 16: other side here? These are all buy one, get two free.
- 53:15Speaker 16: For twenty nine, thirty nine, forty nine and fifty nine dollars.
- 53:18Speaker 16: You can get three of them, and they're they're amazing shows.
- 53:21Speaker 16: They're a great warm up to it save you know,
- 53:23Speaker 16: get one finale for the end. But you don't have
- 53:26Speaker 16: to spend a fortune to have a decent show with
- 53:29Speaker 16: your family if you're looking to do something.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Man, I got to tell you when I ran that
- 53:31Speaker 2: tent out in Pine Hills for that one year, we
- 53:33Speaker 2: kind of did that as a family business. It was
- 53:35Speaker 2: so much fun. It was, you know, Craig's business. And
- 53:37Speaker 2: when I wanted to sell something when it was slow,
- 53:39Speaker 2: I would just tell my son, said, Cole, we go
- 53:40Speaker 2: out there and light a two hunder gram you know,
- 53:42Speaker 2: one of these two undergram fireworks and just you know,
- 53:44Speaker 2: don't say anything, just got there and light it. And
- 53:47Speaker 2: they would light that thing up. Those people would run
- 53:49Speaker 2: to the tent. What was that? What was that? We
- 53:51Speaker 2: all got?
- 53:51Speaker 16: You know, we've got the TV up at the front
- 53:53Speaker 16: that has the scanner so you can scan the bar
- 53:55Speaker 16: code and see what it does the firework does, and
- 53:57Speaker 16: we've got the touchscreens too. But the one hook to
- 53:59Speaker 16: the skin is like a fifty inch TV we have
- 54:02Speaker 16: up there now, so the same thing. I'll just take
- 54:04Speaker 16: a cake that I love and go up there and
- 54:06Speaker 16: scan it and then like three people will hey, well
- 54:09Speaker 16: which one was that?
- 54:10Speaker 2: Was it? Which one was that? Yeah?
- 54:12Speaker 7: Five hundred Graham fountains. Oh yeah, how long does the
- 54:16Speaker 7: how long does that burn for?
- 54:17Speaker 16: So like the Amazing fountain, which is my favorite fountain
- 54:20Speaker 16: that we have, more of.
- 54:21Speaker 2: A Taco Tuesday fountain kind of guy.
- 54:25Speaker 16: Amazing is like over two minutes long, butinally is like
- 54:29Speaker 16: twenty foot high and thirty foot wide.
- 54:31Speaker 2: No way, it's ridiculous. Yeah, really, it's spectacular.
- 54:34Speaker 7: I see that you have a five hundred gram fountain
- 54:36Speaker 7: firework called one bad Grainny.
- 54:39Speaker 16: Yes, we do almost out.
- 54:44Speaker 2: That's the thing you do, like first couple days, you
- 54:46Speaker 2: walk there and just look at the names of the
- 54:47Speaker 2: cakes because they're always the best. I don't know who
- 54:50Speaker 2: writes that stuff, but that's the best job in entertainment. Yeah.
- 54:52Speaker 16: They It never ceases to amaze me some of the
- 54:56Speaker 16: names that they come up with on these cakes. And uh,
- 54:59Speaker 16: and the art too, by the way, which is the
- 55:01Speaker 16: finest of artwork that China can steal and slap on
- 55:04Speaker 16: a label, right, Yeah, and uh Yeah, some of the
- 55:07Speaker 16: stuff there. There's a few that I won't even carry
- 55:09Speaker 16: because they're just too much.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Right, And you have all the fire you have all
- 55:14Speaker 2: the firecrackers, black cat firecrackers, stuff like that, all the
- 55:17Speaker 2: all the stuff this year, well man, that's awesome. Over
- 55:19Speaker 2: three hundred eyes.
- 55:20Speaker 4: We have that little paper tank that yeah, you're spousal
- 55:23Speaker 4: lighted it.
- 55:24Speaker 16: It's ridiculous how many paper tanks we go through. I
- 55:28Speaker 16: just had this conversation with somebody else, like I remember
- 55:31Speaker 16: the tanks from whenever I.
- 55:32Speaker 2: Was like eight years they're exactly the.
- 55:35Speaker 16: Same white agent whoever designed that as a genius and
- 55:39Speaker 16: you get some kind of award years something had to change. Yeah,
- 55:43Speaker 16: and we sell thousands of those paper tanks, that crazy
- 55:48Speaker 16: cherry bomb stuff like that. I mean, I mean the
- 55:51Speaker 16: big blowers.
- 55:52Speaker 2: We get that, you got that big boom fire crackers.
- 55:54Speaker 16: But there's nothing that's like ridiculous as to you know,
- 55:57Speaker 16: people talk about, oh, whenever I was. Yeah, And the
- 56:02Speaker 16: funny thing is you can buy em eighties now because
- 56:05Speaker 16: you can put whatever you want on the label. So
- 56:07Speaker 16: I can label anything I want MD and it could
- 56:09Speaker 16: be the biggest hunk of junk in the world.
- 56:11Speaker 2: But people are like, oh, I bought some M eightis
- 56:13Speaker 2: this year from somebody.
- 56:14Speaker 7: Wow, Well, I would love to know what is the
- 56:17Speaker 7: most intense firework that you've been around, like some real
- 56:21Speaker 7: black market stuff. What have you seen that you thought like,
- 56:25Speaker 7: all right, I'm pretty sure that was actually used for warfare, Like.
- 56:28Speaker 2: I have some crazy stuff.
- 56:30Speaker 16: The funniest thing is people all the time talk about
- 56:33Speaker 16: on my even my debts, as Oh, whenever I was
- 56:35Speaker 16: a kid, you know, we had these quartersticks and I
- 56:37Speaker 16: was in a show where they actually led off a
- 56:40Speaker 16: quarter stick of dynamite to show you how strong that is. Yeah,
- 56:45Speaker 16: there was nothing that my father had access to when
- 56:47Speaker 16: he was honest.
- 56:49Speaker 2: That equals a quarter that's that's mining tools.
- 56:52Speaker 16: Like we were hundreds of foot away when it went
- 56:54Speaker 16: and I almost peed my pants.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Ridiculous. Nothing you had that one year, that white thing
- 57:01Speaker 2: that you would like and that was and it was
- 57:03Speaker 2: just a concussion. All it was was an explosion. And
- 57:07Speaker 2: I told Greg, you tell me, But I goes, wait,
- 57:09Speaker 2: do you hear this thing? What do you hear this thing? Well,
- 57:11Speaker 2: he's like, I'm like set it off. He goes, we
- 57:12Speaker 2: can't do it quite now because there's too many cars
- 57:14Speaker 2: in the parking line. Yeah, and I'm like why and
- 57:17Speaker 2: then he said this damn thing off and it was
- 57:18Speaker 2: setting off car alarms three blocks away. I remember.
- 57:21Speaker 7: And one of the coolest things about just July fourth
- 57:24Speaker 7: and what you provide for Central Florida as a community
- 57:27Speaker 7: is the opportunity for anybody listening to this this it's
- 57:31Speaker 7: like going to Europe for once in your life.
- 57:34Speaker 2: B what's the term backyard hero? Be the guy in
- 57:38Speaker 2: your neighborhood that just went f it. I'm dropping six
- 57:41Speaker 2: hundred bones.
- 57:42Speaker 16: Particularly on the third and fourth, people come in and
- 57:44Speaker 16: they're like, man, I just got out do my neighbor.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Yeah, what's the biggest thing you have? And if I
- 57:50Speaker 2: got to beat my neighbor.
- 57:51Speaker 7: If you haven't experienced what it's like to be the
- 57:53Speaker 7: prom king of your neighborhood for the big holiday, it's
- 57:56Speaker 7: literally it is really worth experiencing at least once in.
- 58:00Speaker 2: He will tell you in Windermere there are three families
- 58:03Speaker 2: in Windermere and they will drive up in Ford excursions.
- 58:07Speaker 2: You know what a Ford excursion is. It's the biggest
- 58:10Speaker 2: suv I think that's ever been produced in America. It
- 58:13Speaker 2: literally can hold a family of twelve and they would
- 58:15Speaker 2: lay all of the every one of the seats down
- 58:19Speaker 2: flat except for the driver's seat and the passenger seat,
- 58:22Speaker 2: and it would be packed to the gills top to bottom.
- 58:25Speaker 2: That's day one. Those people would come back twice, and
- 58:29Speaker 2: other people in their neighborhood, Oh yes, but they all
- 58:32Speaker 2: love them lakes. And what they'll do is they have
- 58:34Speaker 2: these giant shows and then they call each other, oh,
- 58:36Speaker 2: what do you think about that? The next day, that
- 58:37Speaker 2: guy would do it, and then they're having these battles
- 58:40Speaker 2: and he's making a hand for fift thousands of dollars.
- 58:42Speaker 16: Six or seven years ago, we had these three good
- 58:44Speaker 16: old boys driving literally wearing overalls overalls, sit there, watch
- 58:50Speaker 16: all the videos for an hour there, walking around asking
- 58:52Speaker 16: me questions. But they weren't buying anything, and I was
- 58:55Speaker 16: very nice to them. And then one of them goes outside,
- 58:58Speaker 16: grabs a big flat dolly and starts grabbing handfuls of everything,
- 59:02Speaker 16: like every single thing I sell. And by the time
- 59:06Speaker 16: they're checking out, it's so much stuff. And they're in
- 59:09Speaker 16: a van, a big old pasture van that had like
- 59:11Speaker 16: the two front seats and one bench seat. Right, well,
- 59:14Speaker 16: they can't fit everything in the van, so the guy's like,
- 59:16Speaker 16: can I leave the bench seat here and come back
- 59:19Speaker 16: for it later? And I was like yeah, but there's
- 59:22Speaker 16: three of you. Like, is somebody gonna get the other guy?
- 59:25Speaker 16: And he's like, nah, he'll just ride on top. And
- 59:27Speaker 16: they literally left the parking lot with that guy riding
- 59:31Speaker 16: on top of fireworks in that van, and I was like,
- 59:34Speaker 16: someone should take a photo of it.
- 59:37Speaker 2: I still can't believe that just happened. And I'm not liable. Yeah, yeah,
- 59:40Speaker 2: I told.
- 59:41Speaker 16: Him, I go, please, don't get in a wreck because
- 59:42Speaker 16: there's not gonna be anything left larger than a quarter.
- 59:46Speaker 2: And by the way, it's like that in the hood too.
- 59:47Speaker 2: We would have guys come over and pickup trucks. Three
- 59:49Speaker 2: young black dudes get out, perfect bright t shirts, jeans,
- 59:52Speaker 2: white shirts, hold on yards and he'd go buying three
- 59:54Speaker 2: thousand dollars to fireworks in a pickup truck and take
- 59:57Speaker 2: it back over. And the next day the people in
- 59:59Speaker 2: the other out of their neighborhood would do the same thing.
- 1:00:01Speaker 16: My wife, God love her. I couldn't do it without her.
- 1:00:04Speaker 16: It's so funny because on the third and four she'll
- 1:00:06Speaker 16: be there helping out, and these guys come with big
- 1:00:08Speaker 16: carts full of fireworks, and as they're checking out and everything,
- 1:00:12Speaker 16: my wife will just like hold on and she just
- 1:00:14Speaker 16: start grabbing stuff, and you need one of these and
- 1:00:16Speaker 16: one of these. And we're always really good about helping
- 1:00:18Speaker 16: people out and stuff. And my wife's giving one of
- 1:00:20Speaker 16: those too, given one of those, and I was like, baby,
- 1:00:24Speaker 16: we've filled up a third cart for him on us here.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: He's here to pay.
- 1:00:29Speaker 16: Yeah, but she knows, she knows, but they love us
- 1:00:31Speaker 16: whenever we do that type of stuff, and she knows
- 1:00:33Speaker 16: better than I do.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Best deals in town, best people in town. That's another
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: cool thing is like when you get in there, all
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: the people are cool, like Craig he only hires people
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: you can deal with. And Dross yeah, and good boy
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Ross McCoy. But you can go check him out. I
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: mean three locations used to Longwood and Sandford. I want
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: fireworks dot Com and every location has the big TV
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: with the scan mode where you can scan in the
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: fireworks see what it does. They have things for the kids,

- 1:01:09Speaker 2: spend what can only am out to uh weeks every
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: year watching videos and going to Demosa just to pick

- 1:01:23Speaker 2: love for my man, Craig, see you soon, all right,
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: man four seven nine one texts seven seven zero three
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: one back in a second with more of the Jim
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Colbird show.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Crushing my belly. Those canned new potatoes are dope. My
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: mom used to use them and hash growing up. Yeah,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: and uh slice those things up them up in the pan.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Oh buddy. But Pam recently made me meet loaf with
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: the ground turkey. Definitely, little dear Jean Mustard in with
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: the ketchup from brown Sugar. But you can't even tell
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: it's not the fattening stuff. It was so good.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: It was a loha good.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: Yeah. Man.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Somebody Actually, as soon as I said my meatloaf thing,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: somebody asked me the most important question when it comes
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: to making meatloaf, and I answered, absolutely, we do that
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: at my house. Welcome back on Jim, there's deb Hello
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: Jank Anne Ross. Hello, Antoine greesmant do you are you
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: a meatloaf guy Jackson? Yeah, I love it, absolutely love
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: meatlow And your wife, I assume makes the meat loaf
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: she does. All right, do you like meat loaf? I
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: do meatloaf? Person love it. I have a couple. I
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: have a couple of little By the way, somebody text
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: earlier and said they did the dump cake thing in
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: it absolutely destroyed for him. So I'll give you another
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: heads up. Oh no, not just destroyed. Did you see
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: how much it destroyed?
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: No, I ordered like six more different cake mixes, fourteen
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: different cake fillings. Is actually going to have a bake
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: off this weekend?
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Oh no, way, that's cool to read the entire thing.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: I just saw that. He said that it turned out
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: great for this tay. Yeah, that's and that's awesome. I
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: mean three ingredients. Anybody in the world can do it.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: So when you're making your meat loaf at home, I'll
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: give you a little heads up. So a normal meat
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: loaf for me, like when I'm making one for the
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: family to have a little leftovers, it's like a pound
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: and a half of each of the proteins. Now, a
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: lot of people will make them with like pork and stuff.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: I don't care for that. What I do is I
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: take eighty twenty hamburger, a pound and a half of that,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: and then ninety three seven turkey meat ground turkey. All right,
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: then you what you do with your your bread crumbs
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: is an absolute must. You have to soak your bread
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: crumbs in milk. That's what I think. It's the number
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: one thing that can make your that can make or
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: break your meat loaf. So I think usually for every
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: three pounds of meat, it's about a half a cup
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: three quarters of a cup of bread crumbs.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: So you're making it out of three pounds of meat,
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: a half pound and a half a turkey pound and
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: a half a g.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Yeah, And we find that's enough for everybody in a
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: four person family to get a at least one serving
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: and then have a little leftover for maybe a sandwich
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: or for lunch the next day, which is exactly what
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: we have. And you gotta soak those bread crumbs and
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: milk for about maybe five minutes before you put them
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: into your mix, and don't do a whole bunch much.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: The other big thing is this, you know, it's one egg, salt, pepper,
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: some Italian seasoning in there. Some people put it a
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: little bit of soy sauce or wish your sure in there.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I do not, That's all I do. And then the
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: number one thing is is when you mix this together.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: People like to squeeze it together. Right, they squeeze it
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: like that they want to do. Not do that. What
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: you're really doing is you're just kind of combining by
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: tumbling the meat together. And when you get the big
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: pieces you can kind of break them up a little bit.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: But whatever you do, do not squish it together. That
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: is the number one thing to do because when you
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: start squishing it together, you're making the two dents and
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: it doesn't get juicy enough. Right. You want that meat
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: to have a room in there so that when it
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: starts sweating its fat, it kind of maintains in the
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: meat loaf. And then when and then let it rest
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: after you cook it, let it rest for like fifteen minutes,
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: then cut it, neat it. Where'd you come up with that? Yeah?
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Who told you this? I remember, you're making it up.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: I remember it's been making a meat loaf forever. Not
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: squeezing it. Yeah, you don't do that. You use tumble
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: it together. You want it to combine, for sure, but
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: you don't want to squeeze it and make it like that.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: And number one and then your mixture for the top
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: is literally ketchup brown sugar, a little bit of with
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: shear sauce, soy sauce, and a couple drops of liquid
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: smoke glass pyrex glass pyrex. So what you coat it,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: I don't know, because the fat from the meat keeps
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: it from sticking. Especially that Yeah, yeah, that eight twenty
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: is good for a second. Are you team or just
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: or not? Well, okay, I don't mind it. And some
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: things on the topping you can do it with the topping.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: And by the way, you cook your meat loaf halfway through,
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: then put your topping on. Don't put the topping on first,
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: because what will happen is it'll get gummy. The heat
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: will will sweat the water out of the ketchup, and
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: it'll get real gummy. Don't do that, so you'll cook
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: it through.
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: Like if it's forty minutes, cook it twenty minutes, put
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: your topping on, then cook it twenty more minutes. And
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: if you want a little more color on it, just
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: throw under the broiler for like three or four minutes
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: before you before you eat it.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: So good, dude, can't beat it. You could serve that
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: with damn near anything.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: It's awesome, outstanding, seriously not I love it.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: I have I want to tell it. This is I mean,
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: it is a feel proof meat loaf that is so
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: juicy you won't believe it.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I have to remember this actually happened at about four fifty.
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: So if I go back on the podcast, then I
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: can take the notes.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, look, man, I'm gonna tell you I
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: threw it together yesterday morning so we could have it
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: in the oven last night when I got home, so
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: my wife could just come home and pop it in
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: the oven. And it took me a grand total of
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: eleven minutes to put together. Eleven and that's putting everything
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: away when I was done.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: It's funny because when you said you made meat loaf
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: for I'm like, wait, he gets home from work seven
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: thirty the earliest.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Like he's not making a meat lo then made.
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: It, mix it up in the morning, put it in
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: the pirates so that all you have to do is
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: come home, throw it the oven for three seventy five,
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: four hundred minutes.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: Yeah, uncovered for sure. Yeah, so good, dude, can't beat it.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: I eat a piece this morning, and I swear I
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: wanted to eat the rest of it. It was so good.
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: Why is it that meat loaf and mashed potatoes do
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: the almighty dance. It's a Jack and rose romance. It
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: is salt and pepper. It is salt and pepper, dude,
- 1:07:01Speaker 7: it is jack and coke. It even looks like salt,
- 1:07:03Speaker 7: and it's so good.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: And I'm telling you, we cut this thing open and
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: it was just just so juicy and delicious.
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: It's like, uh, that's my kind of black and white cookie,
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: is that mashed potato and miaol.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: But I usually when I make it for me, like
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: my wife likes that that ketchup like topping, but I
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: like mushroom gravy topping. So I'll actually, you know, make
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: some beef gravy with mushrooms and onions, and that's what
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: I put on top of mine. That's how I like
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: it a little bit more savory, especially with mashed potatoes. Yeah,
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: enough of that already, all right. Four seven nine one
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: six one o four one. You can always text us
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: at seven seven zero three one. There's a restaurant in
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Tampa that's doing something that's pissing people off. I'll tell
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: you what it is. You can tell me if you
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: agree or not. We'll do that next.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Now return to the Jim Colebird Show, Chord Show, Jim.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Coper Show Up, Jim Bob Dude. One time I made
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: a meat loaf and I smoked.
- 1:07:58Speaker 9: That bad boy for three hours.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: Yeah, oh my god, if you haven't done it, you
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: need to do it. And then you shot me out
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: later in the facts. But keep it up, boy, was
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: anybody appreciate that?
- 1:08:13Speaker 17: Thank you for the.
- 1:08:14Speaker 14: Meat loaf tips. I'm starting now now that we're in
- 1:08:17Speaker 14: the Food Network cooking show segment. But I'm confused, Turkey,
- 1:08:23Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 1:08:24Speaker 16: I just it's.
- 1:08:24Speaker 14: Dry, right, So I just usually use all beef in
- 1:08:30Speaker 14: the meat loaf. I like the soaking of the bread
- 1:08:31Speaker 14: crumbs and the milk came too though. That's smart and
- 1:08:34Speaker 14: sometimes an Asian eat like a sweet and hot sauce
- 1:08:38Speaker 14: on the top. But Turkey explain it.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: Don't make her mad, Jimmy, she's scary A.
- 1:08:44Speaker 18: I'm Phil from Clarksville, Tennessee.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: I've just won twenty five hundred dollars from Real Radio
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: one oh four yeay away that's awesome Tennessee. How about
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: that li'stening from Tennessee. I love it. Thanks man, good job, buddy. Congrats.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: What was that ten thousand nuggets? Yeah, that's a lot
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: of nuggets. Welcome back. I'm Jim, deb Jack and Ross
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: are here as well. Welcome to the Jim Kober Show.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: By the way, you know, I think I am going
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: to start kind of popping these recipes out kind of
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: quickly for people, so I don't know where I'm gonna
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: put them. I don't know where I would do that,
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: but a lot of people show a lot of interest
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: in this stuff, and I like it when people go
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: get home and this stuff is very easy and very
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: inexpensive to do. It's just so I've done it for
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: many years. That gentleman said, smoke one. I'd made two
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: or three on my egg before, which is not quite smoking,
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: but it's pretty darn close to it. And he's right,
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: it's just another layer of flavor and delicious.
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: I mean, you can do we can post him on
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: social but what really it would be great if you
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: have it in a written form.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: We can even put him on our website.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: Because it's like, I listened to everything you said, Yeah,
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: it's like I can totally make that meat loaf.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: I'm going to go home. It's like, what was it? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: what was it?
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: And so at least if it's on the website, I
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: have a place I can go to. Yeah, because I mean.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: I left out that you got to get the onion
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: and you when you the one thing, the one pain
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: in the ass is is you don't want giant chunks
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: of onion in your meat low if you want to
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: when you cut that onion, when you get the amount
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: you want, which is usually a small to medium onion,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: or if you have a large one, it's like half
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: of that. You don't want too much, usually like a
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: half half a cup or so, but you want it
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: diced really small, like almost, I mean really small.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: What about mixing onion soup mix into the ground beef,
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: because you get your onion there as well as probably
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: some other stuff.
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard that as well. This one again, this
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: is this is just one that I make that I
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: make from memory every time I make it. So and to.
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: The talkbacks point turkey, why are you putting half turkey
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: in there?
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Do you really want to know? It's the same reason
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: I make the chili I make these days is almost
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: always just turkey. But chili. You can get away with
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: it because you're right if you cook. But I use
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: the ninety three seven turkey meat. There's a ninety nine
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: one turkey meat. I use a ninety three seven turkey meat.
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: And you think it's gonna be dry, but it's not
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: because the beef has tons of fat in it. You
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: have twenty percent on the b Yeah, you get eighty
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: twenty on the beef. What the turkey does is cut
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: the calories down. Yeah, that's it because instead of using
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: full beef, especially twenty percent, you know, eighty twenty, which
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: is a little bit fattier that the turkey cuts. The
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: cuts that in half. Yeah. But it's USA two fifty, dude, Yeah, yeah, right,
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: I gotta live, right, gotta live a little. USA's turning
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: two fifty. I'm not a good looking I'm not counting Palori.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: He's about to hit two fifty, all right, four seven
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: nine four one text seven seven zero three one. All right.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: So in Tampa, there's a restaurant over there, let me
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: see if they have the uh, it's dining. It's r
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: or Row over at Hyde Park in Tampa. The lady
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: goes over there, she goes to have dinner. She sits down,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: and when they bring the check over, she looks at
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: the check and says, well, wait a minute, what is uh?
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: What is this? And they look at her and they say,
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: this is a three percent venue fee. A three percent
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: venue fee. So they didn't tell anybody about it. They
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: didn't warn you it was gonna be there. And if
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: you didn't look at your check, if you just like us,
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: if we just grab our check, we trust the restaurant.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: We just kind of pay the check. We have an
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: idea of what it should be and if it's if
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: it's within five percent of that, we just kind of
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: pay it. Yeah. Uh, And we would never have picked
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: up on a three percent venue fee for the restaurant.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: But that's exactly what they're doing. And this lady says, look,
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: there should be an end the search charges completely and
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: be completely upfront on how much your meals are. And
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: if you want that three percent venue fee, just build
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: it into the cost of the meal, like, build it
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: into the cost of the entree or the dessert or
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: the drinks or whatever. I mean.
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: Agreed, I'm right there with you. But we live in
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: a world where ethics is probably like the seventh most
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: important thing.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say that is the case, and that.
- 1:12:55Speaker 7: The first six well, ross, what are the first six surviving?
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: Trying to put butts in seats, trying to sell a sandwich,
- 1:13:03Speaker 7: trying to pay your employees, and like, I mean, I'm
- 1:13:07Speaker 7: one hundred percent yeah, death to surcharges. But I have
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: a funny feeling that there's going to be some very
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: similar nefarious activity that would also just replace a surcharge.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: And there's a guy, there's actually a bill that's trying
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: to make its way through legislation that would end all
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: of these search charges for restaurants, like all these little
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: fees they try to put on their service fees, this fee,
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: that fee, this venue surcharge. They're trying to end that completely.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: And I think what it is is like it allows
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: restaurants to still maintain the menu items at a certain
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: cost so that when people are like shopping, Let's say
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: you're trying to compare going to two restaurants and you're
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: looking at the entrees, and one restaurant is, you know,
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: three to five percent cheaper than the other restaurant. You're like, well,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: we'll choose this one, it's cheaper. Then you go to
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: that restaurant and they charge you with three percent venue fee.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: But it's just that they can hide it because you
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: usually don't look at your receipt at a restaurant.
- 1:14:00Speaker 7: And I'm still confused on exactly what even a venue
- 1:14:03Speaker 7: fee is. They're just saying, like, yep, mortgage is high.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, what it is? I guess exactly. It says it
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: says eight on your side, which I guess is the
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: new channel over there in Tampa. They visited the restaurants
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: that are in Hyde Park because the restaurant tour told them, hey, look,
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: everybody's doing this like this is real common this is
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: common ground. So because everyone else is doing it, you
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: should do it too. Yeah, But the reporter didn't take
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: that for granted. They actually went and asked a bunch
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: of other restaurants in that area if they do that,
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: and the restaurants did not do it. Yea uh, And
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: they went they visited the restaurant. They were the only
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: place that they could find charging a three percent surcharge
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: fee that was not listed on the menu. And the
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: quote here says there should be an end too surg
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: charges completely and be completely upfront on what it costs
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: to run your restaurant with all its operational expenses that
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: should be included in the menu prices.
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: Now there's only one little asterisk that I do believe.
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: I'm completely fine with is the whole like because I
- 1:14:59Speaker 7: if you talk to us restaurant owner, they'll tell you
- 1:15:02Speaker 7: like it's a blessing and a curse with the zuber
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: reads door dash square, no one uses cash, right and
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: the amount of surcharge that ends. Have you ever been
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: to a restaurant where it's like, hey, credit cards three
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: percent of charge? Yeah, it's because they are standing up
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: for themselves and refusing to eat that three percent that
- 1:15:20Speaker 7: they that their profit would take a dent in the past.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, because MasterCard Visa hits them for it. Right. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: it says here that fine with that. Now tell me
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: if you believe this or not. Now. The bill is
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: a state Bill six oh six has a section going
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: into effect next week which affects that every public food
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: service establishment that charges operation charges or includes a grotuity,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: auto gratuity, or service charge shall include a notice on
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: the food menu, written contract, or website letting you know
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: that's the case. Here's what this guy says, you tell
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: me if you believe this. I don't know if this
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: is says, those who visit Florida's dining establishments deserve the
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: ability to see what they're paying for in an era
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: where everything is broken out into separate fees and charges.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: I don't think that's fair, is it? Isn't that kind
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: of like pulling back the curtain and showing your margin?
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: I mean, isn't it. Do people need to know exactly
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: how much it costs to put that steak on the
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: on the on the table.
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: And it would be weird if you got your twin
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: peaks for seat and it said three dollars for Britney's
- 1:16:18Speaker 7: left one.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: But that's my point being this, Like if you go
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: to a restaurant, you order like a steak dinner with
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: maked potato and salad and a drink or whatever, and
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: that costs you like thirty five dollars or whatever, and
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: then you get the receipt and it breaks all that
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: down and you see that the meal actually only cost
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: them like eighteen to produce, Like does it? Now?
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: I think that's a little too far, and it's way
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: too far, are you kidding? But when you're just adding prices.
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: If you're not raising the menu price and you're trying
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: to raise the total bill, that that's where that venue
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: fee comes in, right, yeah, because they could have just
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: baked that into menu prices. But then you know, it's
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: a little more sticker shock for the diner.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: And more expensive. You need to you know, make new menus.
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: But that could be spread out through like you could
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: put a percent on dessert, a percent on the bar,
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: and a percent on the entrees. I mean you could
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: spread that out. So it is. It doesn't look so bad,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: but it's easier than changing the menu. Sure it is, Yeah,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: for sure. It says here if you think about it
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: at a restaurant, like you're already paying gratuity, you're paying
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: tax all of this, so now you're gonna throw on
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: another three percent on top of an already large bill.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: I would not be happy at all.
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: You.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: I don't mind people trying to do this, but that's right,
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: one hundred percent. That should be like one of those
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: things when you sit down. Oh by the way, at
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: the top of both sides of the menu. We reserve
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: the right to charge a three percent venue fee on
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: bills that are over one hundred dollars three hundred dollars
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: whatever the case may be, or all of our meals
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: come with a three percent venue charge. That helps us
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: bubb blah blah blah blah.
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: I think if you want to charge go three percent
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: for credit card purchases because that's what they're paying, right,
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: I think something like that. Yeah, so I think that's
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: a little more justifiable.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Yeah, And they said the search charge was a venue
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: feed for that's specific location and that need to contact
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: the team's director. And of course they tried to do
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: that and guess what they could not contact the team's director. Yeah,
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: like go talk to this guy and this guy does
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: not exist. So yeah, very interesting. We'll see how that
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: kind of plays out. Call this number. Yeah, the number
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: you have reached four oh seven nine one six one
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: four one. You can always text us at seven seven
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: zero three one back in a second with more of
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: the Jimp covert.
- 1:18:26Speaker 17: Show credit cards. Like, I understand it to a point,
- 1:18:29Speaker 17: but that's all a little cost of doing business, and
- 1:18:32Speaker 17: I understand it.
- 1:18:33Speaker 16: But if you're going to.
- 1:18:34Speaker 17: Charge Servicey to charge Serresy for every single thing to
- 1:18:37Speaker 17: cost your business, it's your business, that's part of it.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: I own a business.
- 1:18:40Speaker 17: I don't charge it because that's part of it.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: I do build it into.
- 1:18:43Speaker 17: My services for it, but the charge on top of
- 1:18:46Speaker 17: just kind of throws people off.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: I'm not a fan of number Yeah. Yeah, either is
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: this venue.
- 1:18:52Speaker 13: If they really want to pull the curtain back, then
- 1:18:54Speaker 13: let's look into the surch charges they give us at
- 1:18:56Speaker 13: the theme parks. I mean, what's the cost Disney to
- 1:18:58Speaker 13: give me a burger that costs me twenty dollars? Sure
- 1:19:01Speaker 13: it costs then two. I mean, if we're really gonna
- 1:19:03Speaker 13: break it down and show that out, then let's let's
- 1:19:05Speaker 13: just dive into those places too.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: That's the same twenty dollars beer scenario at the at
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: any at an eightyport park or stadium and two week
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: you can make that argument a thousand places. I mean,
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: I don't have as much a problem as that because
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: you understand going in that you know you're going to
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: a sporting event. It's a closed caption kind of audience.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: They can charge whatever the hell they want. You're like
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: paying to be there. Almost you understand that going in.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: My thing is you go to a restaurant, you have
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: your meal, and at the bottom of the check without
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: them saying anything, they're gonna crack you for another three percent.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: To me, that's ridiculous and I think it makes the
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: property look terrible.
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: I've never heard it word like that, and that's exactly
- 1:19:42Speaker 7: what it is. They're not charging you, you know, fifteen
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: to twenty dollars for a beer. They're charging you fifteen
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: to twenty dollars for you to drink a beer there.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: That's what they're having. Yeah, it's a location, location, location scenario. There.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim. There's
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: deb Hello, Jack Yo and Sauce as well. It's true.
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Can people come see you tonight, buddy? Or is that
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: sold what's going on with that?
- 1:20:04Speaker 11: That is?
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's basically it's sold out.
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: I believe there's a couple of tickets and I'm just
- 1:20:09Speaker 7: hosting and it's a wild Yeah, I'm kind of stepping in.
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: I'm hosting some comedy shows over at Christy B Comedy Club.
- 1:20:16Speaker 7: And it's safe to say I think one of Jim's
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: favorite comedians, this guy, Quinn Dale, is on the on
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: the billiing tonight, man.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: He is I mean that dude blew up. I was
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: actually at one point I was just like sending everybody
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: I knew clips from this guy's comedy so funny. But yeah,
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: that's gonna be cool for you to be able to
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: open them up for a CV comedy club out in Daytona.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: There's two shows tonight, got it man, all right? Seven
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: seven zero three one if you want to text us
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: and to talk back easily by grabbing the iHeartRadio app,
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: going to real Radio and use that mike to send
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: your comment over to Jack and we'll get you on
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: the air. So there's some interesting news coming to Altamont.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Let me ask you guys something. So the news is this,
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: So the Altamat mall is getting some new tenants, right,
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Gold King, Sushi Express, Moida claw Kicker, which is a
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: giant place. It just has a bunch of claw machines,
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: and a miss A, which I guess is a I
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: believe a clothing store if I remember right now. Those
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: aren't brands that we have ever heard before. But it
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: is people rent renting mall space, and they're trying to
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: kind of say, hey, look, you know malls are coming back.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: You know the tenant you know, renting at a mall
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: is still a feasible business idea I would think maybe
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: now more so than ever. I can't imagine what a
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: square foot in a mall costs these days. It can't
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: be a ton, you know. I don't know what they're
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: offering for build out services either. But my question to
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: you guys is this, because I thought everything I possibly could.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: I literally, after seeing this story, sat for a good
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: half an hour and tried to figure out what happened
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: to malls. Why did all of a sudden shopping inside
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: in a controlled environment with no rain to dodge? Because
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: if you think about the Waterford Lake kind of setup,
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: where it's the same kind of stores, it's the exact
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: same brands, but they just aren't indoor and air conditioned.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: They're outdoor, like in a plazta kind of scenario. So
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: if you leave like a bed, bath and beyond. Usually
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: in a mall, you can just walk across the mall
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: and go to the next door, go to Clayer's or
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: go to the Gap or whatever. But now you have
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: to leave, go out into the weather, and in Florida,
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: of course, that's you know, that's a coin flip during
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: the summer, what that's going to look like and then
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: go to your other mall. Usually walk across a parking lot. Sometimes,
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: like the one at Waterford, you could be two or
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: three blocks away from the store. You want, why did
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: malls die? What happened online shopping? You think that's what
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: it is completely? I think that's a component of it.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: Then why is why Waterford so popular? Waterford is a
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: mall without the mall. It has every single store plus
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: restaurants that you would get in any enclosed mall, and
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: it's outdoors. You have to leave the store into the
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: scorching ass heat to go to the next store. It
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: can't be all internet because I thought of that as well, debit,
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: and I think that's a great yes, if you want
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: to go to the next store.
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: For me, if I'm going to a store, I'm going
- 1:23:09Speaker 4: to a store for a reason, and if that store
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: is in the mall, it just means I got a
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: park further further away, do a lot of walking to
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: get then inside find the store inside. It's just more
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: work than pulling up to a parking lot for that store.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Do you think that's what it is. That's kind of
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: how guys shop. Yes, yeah, that is how guys shop.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: I think I think a lot of it because I
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: remember I used to go to the west Ookes Mall
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: all the time, used to shop at the Westokes Mall,
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: used to go to the movie theater all the time.
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: Until you try to get to a movie, and after parking,
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: you had to try and make your way through small
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: armies of teenagers who made it difficult and a little unsavored.
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: And just after so many times of dealing with that
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: and dealing with that, it just became do you want to.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Go see a movie? Yeah, maybe we'll go to winter Park.
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: But it's still I think it's just it's a death
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: by a thousand cuts.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: I guess it could be. But the thing that even
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: kind of blows that out of the water. Guys, I
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: actually thought about this way too much. I'm gonna be
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: honest with you. Yeah, we have two very successful malls
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: in this area. I mean, I think Altamont is kind
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: of holding on. We know, O Vido West Oaks are
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: basically dead now in the millennium, the mall Millennia and
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: Florida Mall are still viable malls, and the outlet malls
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: for that matter. I mean, the concept still works. You know,
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: it's not Orlando Fashion Square Mall.
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I watched a video walk through of that from
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: like a month ago, and it it.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: That's the weirdest one for me because I spent so
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: much time there when I came to Orlando. That was
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: the mall that we went to, I mean to go
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: hang out, that was the one. What you just said is,
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: I think is kind of your answer. There are still
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: malls that are working well. The problem is is that that's
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: the most amount of malls that can work. So what
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: you're saying is it's still a viable concept, but just
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: at the level that we have, we hit a saturation point.
- 1:25:01Speaker 7: Just like and this is the thing that is making
- 1:25:04Speaker 7: me feel older and needs the moist dries. It kind
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: of feels like every sector of life is also going
- 1:25:09Speaker 7: through that exact same thing, a reckoning of quantity for
- 1:25:13Speaker 7: every entity. Yeah, and it's been exhausting.
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: Let me combat that that even thing right, very nice
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: by the way, I like that that. I didn't mean
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: for it to rhyme and haiku myself. Yeah, I felt good.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Played along. Fashion Square Mall is less than one mile
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: away from that giant complex that's a Waterford kind of complex.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: It's right there on East Colonial driveing Nowtown, Orlando, just
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: on the other side of of not mills, but a
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: bumby where that giant plaza is, where it's got all
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: it's got the floor in decre in there, it's got
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: all these big chopping you know, your TJ Max's and all.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: That's the same concept. You walk out of the store
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: into the weather to the next store, right, gigantic shopping
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: complex that would consume the same amount of stores as
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: the mall. That's just literally a block new a mile
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: and a half down the street that offers air conditioning
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: and weather protection and all that other stuff, food court,
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: the whole nine yards. And nobody wanted to go to it.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: It's a weird culture thing, isn't It isn't almost like
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: a fad that's gone out of a fashion which is
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: kind of weird because it's the easiest way to shop,
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: is it not?
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: You know, I looked it up. I wanted to find
- 1:26:21Speaker 7: out because it was a slow death. I think everyone
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: can agree that the death of the mall wasn't overnight. Yeah,
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: it was in a singular year. You could see it
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: because eventually when the name brand, the national brands would leave,
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: you would kind of be like Bob's Jewelry would pop
- 1:26:35Speaker 7: in there or you know, just your mom and pop
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: shops sort of kind of opening up in mall spaces.
- 1:26:39Speaker 7: But I at the end of this segment will tell
- 1:26:42Speaker 7: you what I believe, and it's kind of crazy full
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: circle moment. That is the moment that malls started to die.
- 1:26:49Speaker 7: But here are some reasons that you may not have
- 1:26:52Speaker 7: thought of. Right when it comes to the death of malls,
- 1:26:55Speaker 7: teens and cell phones. When it comes to the society
- 1:27:00Speaker 7: hang out, just chill, where to go, that's gone, that
- 1:27:04Speaker 7: doesn't exist at all, because, like dep said, malls and
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: I mean, as a kid, I don't know about you, Deborah,
- 1:27:10Speaker 7: I know that you guys were at huge for me too.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: I probably spent twenty five percent of my childhood in
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: a mall. I hung out. I was a mall rat.
- 1:27:17Speaker 7: I did that for a summer. It was awesome seeing
- 1:27:19Speaker 7: friends outside of school. And now that's just not I
- 1:27:24Speaker 7: don't think that's part of it. Yeah, teens aren't hanging
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: out as much. Online reviews play a massive role in
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: the death of malls because they killed impulse browsing and buying.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: Explain that, please, I do not understand what you're saying.
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: So the moment when you would go to a mall. You,
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: at least my experience when I went to a mall,
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: I didn't know why what I was going to buy,
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: and there was this kind of fun chaos too, like
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: this looks good, I think this will work almost like that,
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: almost like that counter or that shelf of stuff right
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: next to the checkout at any store. Yeah, and those
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: candy bars are all that little niche stuff and imagine that,
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: but the entire that's how I kind of went around
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: with them. All.
- 1:28:01Speaker 7: You'd show up with one hundred and fifty bucks, maybe
- 1:28:04Speaker 7: think about buying some clothes or this or that and now,
- 1:28:08Speaker 7: and you would not have anybody telling you any type
- 1:28:10Speaker 7: of criticism towards your purchase. There's criticism for everything on
- 1:28:15Speaker 7: the internet. Now you actually have some pushback, a second voice,
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: which is the internet, and thousands of reviews towards a
- 1:28:23Speaker 7: product that might make you second guess and impulse buying
- 1:28:26Speaker 7: in malls and online reviews kind of rub up against
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: themselves because the.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Idea of retail still exists. I agree with deb I
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: mean I would. The first thing I thought of, actually, Deborah,
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: when you when I kind of started thinking about this
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: is well, obviously online chopping has made a gigantic impact,
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: there's no question, and yes it has. But I mean
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: there are still people who like to buy retail and
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: like the browse around and do that. The problem is,
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: I just don't think there's enough of them.
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: Amazon's convenience is I mean, how many times better than
- 1:28:53Speaker 7: going to a mall, parking in a mall parking line exactly.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: Gen Z not for me though, Dude.
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: I like going to the mall, and gen Z is
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: bringing them all all back, is there? You know, that's
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: the generation that's thumbing its nose at Ai.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: They like the bookstores.
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: I heard one of the local news anchors saying that,
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: you know, going to the Eltamont mall recently and seeing
- 1:29:11Speaker 5: it's like a Black Friday every day, it's packed, right,
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: The Barnes and Noble is packed, and it's just great
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: to see the young people there, the older people there.
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: So who knows, as we you know, try and pull
- 1:29:21Speaker 5: away from the devices, Yeah, maybe we'll embrace that mall
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: rat life.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Now. The infrastructure of these malls are starting to crumble
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: because nobody's putting money into them anymore, and nobody's going
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: to build a new one. So I think that also
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: has a little something to do with it. You're gonna
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: get some pushback from me, Jim. All right, buddy, go ahead,
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: because I don't believe you. Okay, I understand. Yeah, I
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: also like malls. There's a lot of things that I like,
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: but I'm not doing them. What was your last Amazon
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: purchase moments? The last time you went to a mall.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: I don't shop on Amazon. My wife does that for us.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: And the last time I went to the mall was
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: probably Christmas, I saw.
- 1:29:53Speaker 7: I mean, we're talking that's seven months ago. And then
- 1:29:57Speaker 7: I'm sure you've had some brown boxes at the front door.
- 1:29:59Speaker 7: So so that's kind of the rock and a hard place.
- 1:30:02Speaker 7: We love the things that we aren't doing anymore. Yeah,
- 1:30:05Speaker 7: and it shows. And the big crossroads moment that I
- 1:30:09Speaker 7: would guess is the death of mall's full circle moment Sears.
- 1:30:14Speaker 7: Sears was a huge part of the mall experience and
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: it was kind of like the HQ. You would park
- 1:30:20Speaker 7: there and it was one of those big triple A
- 1:30:23Speaker 7: headlining stores, the J. C. Penny, the Macy's. That's what
- 1:30:28Speaker 7: that makes said on the texting services, the death of
- 1:30:30Speaker 7: the anchor stores had to have left, I had to
- 1:30:33Speaker 7: have led to a lot of that because those anchor
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: stores were taken by your J. C. Pennies, your Sears,
- 1:30:38Speaker 7: your Macy's, your Dillard's and stuff. And as those stores
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: kind of started going out of business, there were no
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: other retailers that had that kind of footprint to go
- 1:30:46Speaker 7: in there, so you lost the big light that attracted
- 1:30:50Speaker 7: a lot of moths. Yeah, you're throwing some cell phones
- 1:30:54Speaker 7: towards an entire teenage generation all of a sudden, like
- 1:30:59Speaker 7: you said that those big names gets replaced by a
- 1:31:02Speaker 7: Bob's jeweler.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: It's wild and it's honestly.
- 1:31:06Speaker 7: It saddens me to what a street and a not
- 1:31:11Speaker 7: privilege it is to get older, to see the ground
- 1:31:13Speaker 7: underneath you change.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: It is kind of wild man, because again, you know,
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: looking back as being a kid from probably the early
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: eighties up until probably the the late eighties into the
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: early nineties, you know, every time I would go hang
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: out or whatever, the theater was attached to the mall.
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: So you go to the mall, hang up for a
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: little bit, to a little shopping, or go to the
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: arcade and then slider and check out a movie and
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: then go do whatever. And then of course Christmas for
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: me which is kind of weird. This is the nostalgic
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: part for me, Like to me, like when when you
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: would go to Christmas, go to the mall to Christmas
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: shop on the weekends. Specifically, it was the only thing
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: that Florida offered that really kind of gave us that
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: Christmas spirit because even in December it was usually relatively warm,
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: but even then people would wear their clothes that were
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: or their seasonal clothes. So you would walk into the
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: mall and everybody had on like their seasonal Christmas clothes,
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: and it was just kind of very nostalgic because you
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: see families and couples out there walking around hand in hand,
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: got their bags in their hands. Maybe's gonna dip over
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: to the food court for a cup of coffee or
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: a drink or a sandwich or something.
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: For the mall's playing Christmas carols, playing Christmas and girls
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: there's a Santa taking pictures.
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: So think maybe the sadness for me becomes part of
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: It's part of my nostalgic childhood was going to the mall.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: Would you also.
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: Say the denigration of like innocence plays a bit of
- 1:32:39Speaker 7: a role. If there is a denigration of innocence. So
- 1:32:42Speaker 7: just like people not liking other people as much, maybe
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: three or four decades ago, Jack, Were you a mall right, Yes,
- 1:32:50Speaker 7: well not to a degree. It was a place we
- 1:32:52Speaker 7: would go to hang out, and that was common in Jersey,
- 1:32:56Speaker 7: especially where I lived. There were three Paramus Park, Bergen
- 1:33:00Speaker 7: Garden State Plaza. They were all within just a couple
- 1:33:03Speaker 7: miles of each other. Three mall rioting, that's how bad
- 1:33:07Speaker 7: as they were in the day.
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: Right arriving back in May, I went to one of them,
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: Primus Park, and it's it's not as quite one of
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: like the Seers there now became a Teeter Harry Teeters
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: or something, which is a supermarket that has food and stuff. So,
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: I mean, it took one of your staples and now
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: it's a supermarket.
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: But so it.
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: Doesn't have quite the same draw and field, but there's
- 1:33:31Speaker 4: still alive.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: Yeah, And I remember the first time I saw this
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: happening was in Jacksonville, in Jacksonville, Florida, because we used
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: to go to go up there to go to Kona
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: Skate Park and it was the only one of the
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: only skateboard parks in Florida, and me and the boys
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: would go up there and skate sometimes and we would
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: go up there. We'd go by that. I think it's
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: the Regency Square mall up in Jacksonville. At one point
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: was like a statewide vocal point and now it looks
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: like a zombie movie set. And it looked like that
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: twenty years ago. I mean, I don't even know it's
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: there anymore. But now and again, when you walk into
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: Fashion Square. That's the one that punches me in the
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: ass is when you walk into that one and you
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: see like pieces of it boarded up so you can't
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: even go to parts of it, and you're like, man,
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: I literally can like flash back and see that thing
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: just bustling with people doing all kinds of stuff. And
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: now they're when I see nobody, dude, not even a
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: security guard. There is nobody.
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: There's a karate studio and now that's about it and
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: a lot of like holes in the ceiling and it's
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: not good from the karate students practic.
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: And then the Ovito I haven't been to that. I
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: wouldn't even go to the West Oaks mall. I mean
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: I wouldn't go to that one.
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: Well, that one's that's a call center. Now there's there
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: is no mall left. Yeah, it's a call center.
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: Avito mall is one I I go to because there's
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: a movie theater there there there is, it's a damn
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: good one.
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: That's where that's a that's a divorce dad movie theater.
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: Oh yeah, oh yeah, you want to see divorce dads
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: sad walking into the theater with their two kids. That's
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: where it is. And I know that because I was
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: that divorced dad. Yeah, going to that movie theater. But
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: they still they have They had the food court and
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: that b Dalton you know bookstore FYI for your entertainment,
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: that thing that is no longer there. Yeah, they well
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: they also had that game room thing at the one
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: end it became that.
- 1:35:16Speaker 7: Yeah yeah yeah. Give me a funny detail. I want
- 1:35:19Speaker 7: to know what movie you saw it, like peak divorce Dad.
- 1:35:22Speaker 7: Is there like one cartoonish movie like Toy Story two
- 1:35:25Speaker 7: that you watched holding back.
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: To your No, man, Oh god, you're gonna kill me, dude.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: Uh what was it twenty years ago? Man? Holes with
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: Shila that was so much better than perfect, so much
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: that was that was a good thing to bring your kids.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: The best holes with Shilah buff there you go, beaches
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: and onions all right, four to seven that on six
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: four one text us at seven seven zero three one

- 1:35:59Speaker 2: picked the porn time, let's do that. Next.
- 1:36:01Speaker 19: Shopping malls, Indoor shopping malls is because let's say I
- 1:36:04Speaker 19: want to go to Banana Republic. I can go to
- 1:36:06Speaker 19: like Waterford Lakes or winter Garden Town Center and park
- 1:36:10Speaker 19: in front of Banata Republic, walk in, get what I need,
- 1:36:12Speaker 19: do my shopping, and walk out and go back home
- 1:36:15Speaker 19: to pass by twelve other stores just to get back
- 1:36:18Speaker 19: to my car when and then also walk through this
- 1:36:20Speaker 19: freaking long parking lot to get to my car in the.
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: Heat, maybe in the rain. It's so much easier outdoors.
- 1:36:27Speaker 17: Waterford works well because where it's located. You've got to
- 1:36:30Speaker 17: remember nothing used to be out there. Besides uc Up,
- 1:36:33Speaker 17: there was nothing out there. Waterford solved that issue. With
- 1:36:36Speaker 17: everything out there being everything there, people wanted to move there.
- 1:36:40Speaker 17: Major people started moving their housing businesses.
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: It's the place you want.
- 1:36:43Speaker 20: To be now.
- 1:36:44Speaker 17: Like Mall Millennia is still a very popular mall, it's indoors.
- 1:36:48Speaker 17: But like indoor malls died just because of I think
- 1:36:50Speaker 17: mostly online, but over saturation. Right, you have an ultimate
- 1:36:54Speaker 17: mom but then you have the Florida Mall.
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: Then ye have all the other ones too. Yeah, I
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: think I think Jack nailed it right, and I think
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: maybe just being able to park right in front and
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: then the saturation thing. And I've been online shopping as well.
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: I think all you guys made good. Points four seven
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: nine one six four one text us seven seven zero

- 1:38:47Speaker 1: You can put a lifetime of research to work and
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: maybe win a prize. It's time to pick the porn
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: on the Jim Colbert shoe.
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: All right, Shanna, this is a real easy game. You
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: know the deal right. It's Friday, of course, that means
- 1:38:59Speaker 2: it's time for another round to pick the porn. Here
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: are three actual adult film titles, and one raw dogging line.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: All right, tell me which one of these is not
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: an actual adult film title, Shanna? Are you ready? Yeah?
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: Here we go. Number one, The Pink Persuader, Number two,
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: The Slutty Professor, every Boy's Dream, Number two, tramp Cramp,
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: or lastly, Harlem Hooters. Which of those is? I think
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: it's number three? God, that is the one? Girl? How
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: did you know that?
- 1:39:42Speaker 21: Are you?
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: Do you have tramp cramps? What I mean? I might?
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: All right, Shannon, you're a win. I'm gonna put you
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: on hold enjoy your prize. Jack is waiting for you.
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: The Pink Persuader is an actual adult film title. That
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: one's pretty self explanatory.
- 1:39:57Speaker 5: I think you should give us a little bit commentary
- 1:40:01Speaker 5: on that.
- 1:40:01Speaker 2: I'm not gonna do it. The Slutti Professor. I thought
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: it was a fun play on words. It's also played
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: all by one performer, which is pretty cool, right, And
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: Harlem Hooters. Obviously, that's pretty much self explanatory. The ones
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: that did not make the list are laid Off, Dirty Sherry,
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: and the knocker Room instead of locker room. There you go. Sometimes, honestly,
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: I need a little spoon feeding. Yeah, dude, the knocker
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: room took me a minute. I would not have did
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: they call Oh, I get it.
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know. Need to name another one called
- 1:40:41Speaker 7: the hurt Locker. The hurt Locker, Sorry, Jeremy Bender and
- 1:40:52Speaker 7: the sidekick d Limp.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: Oh my god, some thoughts. Thoughts, Jim. It's kind of
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: weird that we've been talking about food all day, all right,
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: because my super sober on the couch late at night
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: ways has brought me to a very interesting question. I
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: don't care about what the best foods are in the
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: world anymore, but I do care about what are the
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: best bites of certain foods. You're gonna have to explain
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: that little.
- 1:41:23Speaker 7: What I mean by this is that, sure, everyone's had
- 1:41:26Speaker 7: a burger, but what's the best bite on a burger?
- 1:41:28Speaker 7: Everyone should agree, or probably not. What's the best bite
- 1:41:33Speaker 7: of a slice of pizza? Is that the first is
- 1:41:35Speaker 7: at the last. I understand exactly what you're talking about.
- 1:41:38Speaker 7: We all agree that.
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: Matter of fact, I eat my pizza to provide as
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: many of these bites as possible. Oh my god, they
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: sail you, hear Jackson. I think about his pizza. We've
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: been talking about it. I am curious. Get ready, It's
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: time to be on the edge of your seats and
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: get your brave heart on for some of the best
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: bites that food has to offer. Not the best foods,
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: but the best bites. All right, we'll do that next
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Right here on the Jim Colbert Shows, they put.
- 1:42:08Speaker 21: Hey guys, Happy Day, Happy Friday. The one thing I
- 1:42:11Speaker 21: remember about the mall is the food court. And if
- 1:42:13Speaker 21: you went to a good mall like the one o
- 1:42:15Speaker 21: we're in Tampa, that I would visit. They had a
- 1:42:17Speaker 21: mister Dunderbox, which is like a Bavarian German restaurant. Oh
- 1:42:21Speaker 21: you get a fried cutlet. The jagger Schnitzel was some
- 1:42:26Speaker 21: Sower Krau or Sower Broughton and oh my god, and
- 1:42:30Speaker 21: a cold beer. Mister Dunderbox is the best.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: What a guys sport from Duval Jimmy. We may have
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: ran into each other at Cola Skate Park.
- 1:42:42Speaker 18: My whole entire childhood was spent at ConA Skate Park.
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: I'm probably like six years behind you, but I.
- 1:42:47Speaker 9: Lived in the neighborhood ConA was in.
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: For two years of my life.
- 1:42:51Speaker 21: Growing up.
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: I lived on ConA Avenue, which is the street Cona's on. Yeah,
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: pretty cool man. I'm happy to tell you Regency Mall
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: is still here? Is it really? Which ain't not? Holes?
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: And hell man? I thought they does that thing? Hey,
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: well I appreciate that. I always good here in Frevy Man. Yeah.
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: Oh it was a lot of fun.
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: Man.
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: We'll go there and skate a little bit and then
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: drive by the reasons you square the mom wondering what
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: was living inside there? Seven seven zero three one. That's
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: how you text us our good friend, send a talk back.
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: If you want to do that, it's easy. Grab the
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app, go to real radio and use that mike
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: to send your comment over to Jack. I'm Jim. There's
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: deb he here as well. Let's get some thoughts. Here's Ross.
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: Open them up. It's weird too, It's funny. You tweaked
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: me with this idea. By the ways, get it going, Ross,
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: you have spelled like sauce. It's Ross thoughts. You're a
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: wrench in my machines. Today's Ross Thoughts has brought to
- 1:43:43Speaker 2: you by Just Call Mo. That's right, just call mo
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: dot com. Fun fact about just call Mo. He has
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: a just call Mo comedy jam happening in Tampa. I'm
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: a part of it. You can get your tickets at

- 1:43:56Speaker 7: That show is August eighth, Side Splitters one of the
- 1:43:59Speaker 7: best common many clubs in the country.
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: And by the way, that's every local comic I've ever
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: heard says that place. That room is just an absolute blast.
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: It is a kill box, a bucket of blood, and
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: I look forward to telling jokes for MO. Just call
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: MO dot com. Now I was telling you, Jim, We've
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: talked a lot about food and how to cook and
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: all of that, but you gotta get a little bit
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: more stonery with it. What is you're missing the stonery
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: aspect of food?
- 1:44:25Speaker 14: All right?
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: All right, I'll make a note.
- 1:44:26Speaker 7: And what I'm talking about is like, what is the
- 1:44:29Speaker 7: best bite of some of our favorite foods. I would say,
- 1:44:33Speaker 7: without a doubt, the most beloved example of what I'm
- 1:44:37Speaker 7: talking about corner piece on brownies, So you got feet.
- 1:44:47Speaker 4: You could say the same thing for lasagna. I would
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: rebut that I don't like the corner. I don't like
- 1:44:55Speaker 4: the side or corner pieces of lasagna. I want it
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: from the center.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: Because it's too crunchy on the corner. I don't want
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: my I like it. It's a little more texture.
- 1:45:02Speaker 16: Man.
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: Yeah, the one you said in here is I thought
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: I thought you were gonna repeat that one. I mean,
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: it's the center of the of the cinnamon. But the
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: center of the cinnamon.
- 1:45:09Speaker 7: Everyone knows that that is the best part of any
- 1:45:13Speaker 7: cinnamon cinnamon roll.
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: Jim is wa eating that part. He's a monster. He's
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: already been on record. It's not.
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it is the best part, but it's just to
- 1:45:24Speaker 4: go out and take like a plateful of the best Partsnamon.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: I punched the middle out and then throw the under
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: part like it's a crack vial. It's insane. With a
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: middleless cinnamon.
- 1:45:39Speaker 7: You are a lawless man in a lawless spiritual world.
- 1:45:43Speaker 7: I have to tell you up top my face that
- 1:45:46Speaker 7: we are not talking the best foods. We are talking
- 1:45:50Speaker 7: the best bites of specific foods.
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: In this one, this mess, this is my zenith.
- 1:45:56Speaker 7: The best last bite or the best specific in Orlando
- 1:46:01Speaker 7: is beefy King. But you have to get your beefy
- 1:46:04Speaker 7: King roast beef sandwich to go. It has to be
- 1:46:07Speaker 7: in the tinfoil.
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: Because it soaks in that you have to get a
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: little bit soaking into the bread.
- 1:46:11Speaker 7: Or steams a little bit with the tinfoil, but the
- 1:46:15Speaker 7: last bite are kind of really more than not roast
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: beef sandwiches. But when you have a beef sandwich and
- 1:46:23Speaker 7: the juice is on, it's just puddling on the bottom.
- 1:46:27Speaker 7: It's got a wet diaper. Yeah, and it's just shelling
- 1:46:30Speaker 7: in that wet diaper. I gotta tell you for me, man, dude.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: One of them is like when you go to Tea
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: one Flats and you get taco Tuesdays, My go to
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: taco is a beef taco, hard shell, loaded up with
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: extra halipinos. Right. It's the first bite from the side,
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: because you get the perfect balance of vegetables and meat.
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: Every other bite outside of that doesn't provide that because
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: it's too wide for your mouth. There you get it.
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: There you go spitting bars over there. And what was
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: it you said?
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: That was a a what from Tijuana Flats taco?
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: A taco? Yeah, a hard shell taco with beef and
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: loaded up, which is a less tomato then with the
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: cheese and a little bit of sour cream. And I
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: like the stuff hali pinos in there. But when you
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: eat it from the side, that first bite is the
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: only bite you get that has the perfect balance of everything.
- 1:47:17Speaker 7: I feel you on that. That's so you're and this
- 1:47:19Speaker 7: is what I've when I conjured up this list. I
- 1:47:21Speaker 7: kind of found it interesting that a lot of the
- 1:47:23Speaker 7: best bites are either the first bite of something or
- 1:47:27Speaker 7: the last or the last bite of something good.
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: This isn't first or well, this is the gift after
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: you've eaten a Reese's Peanut buttercup pack and then you
- 1:47:39Speaker 5: got that chocolate that's left on your fingers.
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: Wow, look at that. And then that's out of the
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: box a little bit. Okay, Yeah, I like just leftover residue.
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: Is your favorite part of peanut butter cup? I'm here
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: for it. I like it. Jack, what's your example? So
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: with pizza?
- 1:47:56Speaker 4: I mean that first bite is great, but I really
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: like it that section as you get closer to the crust,
- 1:48:03Speaker 4: but it's still got the sauce and cheese there. Yeah,
- 1:48:05Speaker 4: because the crust is getting a little thicker there. I
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: think that that's the sweet spot.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: You like the transition, Yes, you like the transition. I
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: can't say that in Florida, but you like the transition.
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: I will this will be Can we write this down.
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: What's today the twenty six Yeah, yeah, six six six.
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: Jack and I agree on food. Here's what I do, Jack,
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: I'll eat the pizza down until there's about an inch
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: of pizza left with the crust. In other words, you
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: have a pizza, you have your crust. Yeah, yeah, and
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: then an inch of pizza all the way down and
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: then I eat it long ways. Yeah, so that every
- 1:48:40Speaker 2: bite as they bite him, crust with the pizza, with
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: the sauce and the cheese.
- 1:48:45Speaker 7: So you're a little yin and yeah you want that
- 1:48:47Speaker 7: bad boy fifty fifty and your lawless world?
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: Do you want to striped pizza? You want chie?
- 1:48:52Speaker 7: You want pizza crust, pizza crust, pizza crust.
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: But that's the best thing. It's like, that's the best part.
- 1:48:58Speaker 7: Also, I just made somebody a billion dollars if someone
- 1:49:01Speaker 7: made a pizza with like crust in between.
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: Each slice, Yeah, with like a spiral crust.
- 1:49:07Speaker 5: Dude, you're given them ideas, man, I mean they're already
- 1:49:09Speaker 5: doing stuff.
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: Crust pizza, grilled cheese, corner bite. Oh, that's a good one.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: I had thought about. It's got to be the corner
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: brighte on the grilled cheese.
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: You make a grilled I want to go right into
- 1:49:18Speaker 5: the middle so I can get both pieces of buttery
- 1:49:21Speaker 5: bread no, and that Uhi guey cheese.
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: I don't want the crust at.
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: That moment, getting in the middle of the relationship with
- 1:49:27Speaker 5: the Uhi cheese.
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: This feels like a three V one on this one.
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: When you brought that up, When you brought this up
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: and you came in there too, I was like, when
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: you walked out, I'm like, how dare you do that
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: to me? Now? All weekend? This is all I'm gonna do.
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: I'll take your grilled cheese. You cut it in a half,
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: but you don't cut it in a half straight and half.
- 1:49:44Speaker 2: You cut it so it makes two trying.
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: Of course, and then you have to have tomato soup,
- 1:49:48Speaker 5: then homemade.
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: You bite the middle out of that. Okay, so now
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: you have an animal hold on. Now you have an
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: entire thing of crust and cheese to eat long ways,
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: eating way everything but corn? Are you coming out? You're
- 1:50:11Speaker 2: not getting that picture? Sorry, but banana. Every once in
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: a while, you're gonna get me pelican torns. You just
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: to eat everything like a corn doll. That's how I
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: eat hamburgers to like to cut in half, eat the middle,
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: like immediately take one giant bite and then eat the
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: edges because you get the edge of the bun.
- 1:50:29Speaker 7: So you're making your burger into a donut. Yes, like
- 1:50:35Speaker 7: that last bite of flawn, last bite of flawn, because
- 1:50:40Speaker 7: you always it's always in its own tears and its
- 1:50:43Speaker 7: own brown little sugary caramel, syrup, liquid whatnot.
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: I don't know what it is. But then on the
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: last bite of flaw and you're like, I'm not gonna
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: let the best part just chill, you know, So you
- 1:50:54Speaker 2: start like, what is it? What's the word basing basting?
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Base game based basting?
- 1:50:59Speaker 7: You start eastein the flawn with its is just.
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: Filled with sadness. All right, let me get you on
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: this one rotissary chicken. Oh, here we go, turn it
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: upside down. There are two little lobes of meat on
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: the back. They're like two little pieces of lives. When
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: you pop that out, that's the best pie of That
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: is the best bite of the chicken. So good thing.
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: I gotta reflect on it. I had rotissary chicken today.
- 1:51:30Speaker 4: That was the second time back, and so it was
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: a chicken salad sandwich on sour dough bread. O.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: Man, Oh that first bite was good. First bite? How
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: about this?
- 1:51:40Speaker 7: I think there's gonna be some people that will drool
- 1:51:43Speaker 7: off this next one. You grab a salt vinegar chip
- 1:51:46Speaker 7: that first on that tongue, and that thing just starts
- 1:51:50Speaker 7: just gushing. The gleands in your mouth.
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: Just was hurt. I don't like those. All right, I'm
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: gonna give you a gross one. You're ready for a
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: gross one, we already glizzy gobbler. Go to your favorite
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: fried chicken place for me, it's Popeyes. Get the breast
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: of Popeyes and then take them take the skin off
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: of it, eat that by itself.
- 1:52:20Speaker 5: Oh yeah, there's nothing wrong with that.
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: I will just literally pull every piece of skin off
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: of it and eat it there and leave that thing
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: sitting naked on the table for a minute.
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: What you need to do is take that skin and
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: then you take some of the red beans and rice
- 1:52:34Speaker 5: and you around you make it almost like a like
- 1:52:37Speaker 5: a like a tie lettuce wrap it. Instead you're using
- 1:52:39Speaker 5: fried chicken skin and red beans.
- 1:52:41Speaker 2: And that's hard. It's hard health day today.
- 1:52:46Speaker 7: On the I also know this about Popeyes. You know
- 1:52:50Speaker 7: what you're peeling is also a very long way piece
- 1:52:53Speaker 7: of chicken, isn't it Is it like a tender that
- 1:52:56Speaker 7: you're rubbing the fried thing off.
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: Well, what I would always sometimes I would do is
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: I would take my fingers like my thumb and two
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: has and I would pinch the chicken breast so that
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: it would pull the It would literally encase the chicken
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: into the skin. And then that's one one giant bike.
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: Oh there you go. That's a way to go, long way.
- 1:53:17Speaker 7: Cereal milk, that's my favorite bite of Cereal. I like
- 1:53:21Speaker 7: it won that Cereal when that TG league collaborates with
- 1:53:25Speaker 7: their great Tony on those frosted flakes and they do
- 1:53:28Speaker 7: this little fun dance and it's like this cool collaboration.
- 1:53:31Speaker 7: It's like Aerosmith's run DMC with every Cereal brand in milk.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: Your first piece of sushi is always the best bite
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: of that. Yeah, how about this one? Does anybody feel
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: like this? Burnt cheese? Oh yeah yeah. Matter of fact,
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: when I make grilled cheese sandwiches, I always sprinkle some
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: around on the side to burn it, just so I
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: can eat it as a snack, because cheddar cheese will
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: fry up like that and when you take it out,
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: it'll get a little crisp. It's it's like a little snack,
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: like like a cheddar chip.
- 1:53:58Speaker 7: What And then also, I want to go back to
- 1:54:00Speaker 7: the pizza thing because everyone talks about what's the best
- 1:54:02Speaker 7: pizza or the best pizza topping, but no one talks
- 1:54:05Speaker 7: about what's the best bite on pizza For me? I
- 1:54:09Speaker 7: like first base, I like the greens on pizza. Let
- 1:54:12Speaker 7: me get the edge, let me get the triangle.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: You hear that pizza? It was getting stonery.
- 1:54:20Speaker 7: Yeah, like no one's ever talked stoner terms eating pizza.
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: I'm a real rule breaker, really stepping.
- 1:54:29Speaker 7: Out, but I'm a big fan of that that hard
- 1:54:31Speaker 7: triangle when it comes to pizza, because then I think
- 1:54:34Speaker 7: you get all of it. You get it's all dessert
- 1:54:36Speaker 7: right there. I'm curious about texting service is what what
- 1:54:39Speaker 7: they're going to say?
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: Dude, I gotta tell you your very first one was
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: almost too good. I will Actually when my son used
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: to make a pan of brownies like every other night,
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: and I would go in and I would take that
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: side one or that the corner one, and I would
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: I would literally cut the middle part of the waist.
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: When I picked it up, it was just like a
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: like a you It was all the crusty parts with
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: just enough of the of the soft part in the
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: middle to make it delicious.
- 1:55:05Speaker 5: You have a real thing with donut shapes and used
- 1:55:08Speaker 5: does that go it the long way?
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: By the way, if you haven't tried the Giridelli brownie
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: mix that they have in stores, that is the brownie mix.
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: I don't know anybody that can make it better from scratch.
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: That is the best brownie mix on planet Earth. I
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: swear on your deathbed. Right you're saying goodbye, You're about
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: the flatline and all we have to bring up is like.
- 1:55:30Speaker 7: Hey, how do we salt this beef? Like the Youngdertaker,
- 1:55:35Speaker 7: he shoots out from his bed. Those are your ross thoughts.
- 1:55:38Speaker 7: Enjoy your food, and I want to know what those
- 1:55:42Speaker 7: specific best bites are. Tell me let me know. Brought
- 1:55:45Speaker 7: to you by Injured on the Go just call him. Oh,
- 1:55:48Speaker 7: I'm out, peace all right for.
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: Seven nine four one textas seven seven zero three one

- 1:56:01Speaker 20: Hey guys, I just want to say real quick, I've
- 1:56:04Speaker 20: been stuck in traffic for two hours. I am almost home,
- 1:56:08Speaker 20: and thank you so much for making me so hungry.
- 1:56:11Speaker 20: With that last segment. But real quick, me and my daughter,
- 1:56:14Speaker 20: our favorite thing to do is to make brownies in
- 1:56:17Speaker 20: the muffin pan. You get that nice, crispy edge all
- 1:56:21Speaker 20: around nice. Give a trye all right, love you guys,
- 1:56:24Speaker 20: have a good weekend.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: Have a good weekend as well.
- 1:56:27Speaker 18: Hey, Cobra Crue Jimmy, You're absolutely right. The Dear Delli
- 1:56:33Speaker 18: Brownie Mick is fantastic. Take a Hershey's Symphony giant chocolate bar,
- 1:56:42Speaker 18: cut it up, drop it in the MiGs. It'll change
- 1:56:46Speaker 18: your life.
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: Dude. You guys are killing me.
- 1:56:50Speaker 11: I'm literally trying to make a Walmart order right now,
- 1:56:53Speaker 11: and I've had to redo it four times now because
- 1:56:55Speaker 11: that can change what I want. I've come down to
- 1:56:57Speaker 11: a grilled cheese shepherd's pie.
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, stick.
- 1:57:01Speaker 11: With me, and then grill it on the grill, mashed potatoes, corn, peas, cheese.
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:57:09Speaker 11: I might even throw a steak on it, super starving.
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: I'm not even I don't know.
- 1:57:16Speaker 13: For me, the best bite is when you open that
- 1:57:20Speaker 13: bag of Dorito's Warships, that first fresh chip out.
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: Right out of the bag. I just love that. It's
- 1:57:28Speaker 2: just the best bite. Okay, I think I gotta figure
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: it out.
- 1:57:34Speaker 11: Grilled cheese or tissery chicken sandwich with a spicy tomato basil.
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: Soup, dude, bringing on whatever.
- 1:57:42Speaker 11: Yes, I'm ordering it, absolutely, dude, that's delicious.
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: Yes, yes, if you get it. I think he's talking
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: himself into it as we speak. All right, welcome back
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: to the Jim Could Show. I'm Jim. There's dead hello
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: here as well. Yeah, let's do eight bit update on
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: real radio.
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: Ready, your quick hit on gaming news reviews and a
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: little chaos has Pomp Pomp tries.
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: Gaming update with Jayden starts now, JG in the house.
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: What's going on? Buddy?
- 1:58:18Speaker 22: Oh you guys are talking about all this food. Man,
- 1:58:20Speaker 22: you're making me hungry. I've been eight today. It's like,
- 1:58:22Speaker 22: oh no, no, no, I had like a cracker or two,
- 1:58:27Speaker 22: but nothing too much.
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: All right, that's fine, cracker or two. He's young, he'll survive.
- 1:58:31Speaker 22: Yeah, you''s all right. I've had to sprite two monsters like.
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: You store fat differently?
- 1:58:36Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, he doesn't just wait, it's waiting.
- 1:58:39Speaker 22: I've got to say, give me like five years.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a little glazed over right now. This GTA
- 1:58:43Speaker 2: six thing has every game rights completely glazed over. I
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: will tell you, dog, I'm gonna be honest with you,
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: like you know, I mean, I talk about all the time,
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: so you know, prepping for the show, you read a lot,
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: like all morning, just making sure that you've covered all
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: the stories, getting the best stuff to, you know, to
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: spring on people that maybe not may not read that
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: kind of thing. This GTA six story, uh got as
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: much coverage as the Venezuelan earthquakes today. I believe it.
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: It was everywhere.
- 1:59:09Speaker 22: I believe it. There's so much you can talk about
- 1:59:12Speaker 22: with this topic right now. We have so much new information.
- 1:59:14Speaker 22: So Mandy, boneheaded mistakes. There's just so much that has happened.
- 1:59:17Speaker 22: Bonehead of mistakes. Oh yeah, I knew we were gonna
- 1:59:19Speaker 22: get screwed. Yeah, we got screwed. What happened to me
- 1:59:22Speaker 22: and Jack? We're talking about this in the hallway. We
- 1:59:23Speaker 22: were so furious about this, So I guess we'll just
- 1:59:25Speaker 22: start off with it. They came out with all the
- 1:59:28Speaker 22: pre orders and uh where where you can pre order
- 1:59:30Speaker 22: this game at and it's it's kind of weird. So
- 1:59:33Speaker 22: when you go pre order this game in stores, it's
- 1:59:35Speaker 22: not a physical disc. It's a code to type into
- 1:59:39Speaker 22: your Xbox to make it a digital game. You're not
- 1:59:41Speaker 22: paying for a disc. It's it's it's for a.
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: Gas, paying a doubt. You're paying for a download code.
- 1:59:46Speaker 22: Yeah, the best way, it's like a gift card essentially,
- 1:59:48Speaker 22: just for GTA six. So there is no physical disc
- 1:59:51Speaker 22: when you when you get it, it's just a code.
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: Okay. Now, I know a lot of people don't care
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: for that because they'd like to be able to take
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: the disc other places and play it so they get
- 1:59:58Speaker 2: or whatever I mean? Is that not it?
- 1:59:59Speaker 22: Or I mean it's kind of killing physical media. When
- 2:00:01Speaker 22: you think about is say they're one of the biggest
- 2:00:04Speaker 22: games ever, one of the biggest biggest pieces of media. Well,
- 2:00:07Speaker 22: it's not even coming out with the physical like release.
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: Plus.
- 2:00:09Speaker 5: Who wants to spend one hundred dollars for something that
- 2:00:12Speaker 5: you can't physically put your hands on and take with you.
- 2:00:14Speaker 22: Right, I'm a collector, I have I have easily about
- 2:00:17Speaker 22: four hundred cases of games. I want that in my collection.
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: While that's wild, what are they ever going to release it? UNCD?
- 2:00:24Speaker 22: Now that the whole thing around it is supposedly it's
- 2:00:27Speaker 22: helping with leaks, I guess the more discs you print
- 2:00:30Speaker 22: out and you have to ship places, the more easier
- 2:00:33Speaker 22: it is for people to get their hands on it.
- 2:00:35Speaker 22: But when you're just shipping out codes, it's a it's
- 2:00:37Speaker 22: a little harder to get.
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: That disempowers the customer, though, does it not? How so?
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: I mean because I mean you you're only limited to
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: playing it where it's downloaded, correct, I mean correct, once
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: it's there, that's it, as opposed to having the actual
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: disc where you had taken play some routes.
- 2:00:54Speaker 4: Right, And for me, I'm a big believer in having
- 2:00:56Speaker 4: the disc. I wanted the disc for this one, and
- 2:00:59Speaker 4: this will chase how I'm going to buy this game
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: because it's but all my games I've played with the
- 2:01:05Speaker 4: disc but on the same Xbox, so it really wouldn't
- 2:01:09Speaker 4: affect me. But I want the disc to this game.
- 2:01:13Speaker 4: I don't want the download, and now I have to wait.
- 2:01:16Speaker 4: I knew that November nineteenth date. I was not counting
- 2:01:20Speaker 4: on it because I knew that something would happen. And
- 2:01:23Speaker 4: for people who want the physical disc, you're not getting
- 2:01:26Speaker 4: it November nineteenth.
- 2:01:28Speaker 22: Well here's the thing. I'm gonna pay for digital because
- 2:01:30Speaker 22: I need it November nineteenth. It's not an option. I
- 2:01:33Speaker 22: need it, I get it. It's like a meg Absolutely,
- 2:01:37Speaker 22: I'm snored in GTA. That's that is what I'm doing.
- 2:01:39Speaker 2: And then you also will buy the physical disc.
- 2:01:41Speaker 22: Well that's where I'm at, Dude, I really want the
- 2:01:44Speaker 22: physical disc. But am I gonna spend two hundred dollars
- 2:01:48Speaker 22: to have two separate versions of the game.
- 2:01:50Speaker 2: I don't understand. Why are they doing that? Are they
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: doing it? Because Okay, so you're saying that you're not
- 2:01:54Speaker 2: gonna get the disc by November nineteen, So when will
- 2:01:57Speaker 2: the disc go on sale? Will it be on sale
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: before Christmas?
- 2:01:59Speaker 22: I am imagine it has to be because you're missing
- 2:02:01Speaker 22: so much in holiday sales if it's not out by cars.
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: Dude, considering what this thing costs to produce, and there's
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: that there's no information on this.
- 2:02:08Speaker 4: It seems pretty vague. They said it could be months
- 2:02:11Speaker 4: after the release, and then I saw another report where
- 2:02:14Speaker 4: it said it could be December.
- 2:02:18Speaker 22: It's crazy, and they're doing the PC release a year
- 2:02:20Speaker 22: after the release, so I mean, realistically, they could release
- 2:02:23Speaker 22: this whenever they want.
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: Can you can you pre order the CD? No? You can't. No,
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: right now, you cannot.
- 2:02:29Speaker 22: Everything is digital, right now this game is completely digital.
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: Are you sure they're even going to produce the CD version?
- 2:02:35Speaker 22: You listen when you hear these sales, they might not.
- 2:02:38Speaker 22: In just twenty four hours, they sold around thirty nine
- 2:02:42Speaker 22: to fifty million in just pre orders, and that was
- 2:02:44Speaker 22: three billion dollars they made in.
- 2:02:47Speaker 2: Pre orders in the first day. Yes, in twenty four hours.
- 2:02:51Speaker 22: Why they Why even waste the money on a disc?
- 2:02:54Speaker 22: If you're just gonna print out money like this?
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: Why would they then?
- 2:02:58Speaker 6: Is it?
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: I mean, because that's a nostalgia thing for people who
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: just want to have I mean, because is that normal
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: for big games like to be released only in digitally.
- 2:03:05Speaker 22: This is the first time anything like this has happened.
- 2:03:07Speaker 2: Really, there has never been a case like these guys
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: are feeling themselves. Yeah, oh yeah, I mean they this
- 2:03:12Speaker 2: is the most powerful entity in video gaming right now, right,
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: so they're double they're pressing down on every possibility of
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: a leak because I mean, I guess right, I think
- 2:03:22Speaker 2: Jayden said it last week, the biggest piece of media. Yeah,
- 2:03:26Speaker 2: this game.
- 2:03:27Speaker 22: Well, and they also are also doing crazy things with
- 2:03:30Speaker 22: this price. This is the first game to ever be
- 2:03:32Speaker 22: a base game at eighty dollars Nintendo try to do
- 2:03:34Speaker 22: this when the switch To first launched and everyone killed
- 2:03:37Speaker 22: them for it and they switched their prices. GTA is
- 2:03:40Speaker 22: the only game I know that can launch at eighty dollars.
- 2:03:42Speaker 4: It's about having the killer app. GTA six is the
- 2:03:45Speaker 4: killer app. That's the game everyone wants, and the switch
- 2:03:48Speaker 4: To didn't have a killer app that you had to have.
- 2:03:51Speaker 22: Yeah, so this changed the market for Triple A games new.
- 2:03:54Speaker 22: I promise you from here on out, Triple A games
- 2:03:56Speaker 22: will be eighty dollars now compared to sixty. I know
- 2:03:58Speaker 22: that means nothing to you because they give you hours
- 2:04:00Speaker 22: of fun.
- 2:04:00Speaker 2: But the whole idea is that it never goes backwards. No,
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: it only goes out, never going backwards. Buddy, I got
- 2:04:06Speaker 2: bad news for you. What what the market pays it?
- 2:04:08Speaker 4: You're done, But Jim, you from your experience downloading games,
- 2:04:12Speaker 4: you know some of them can be quite large and
- 2:04:15Speaker 4: take forever.
- 2:04:16Speaker 2: And not a lot of people.
- 2:04:18Speaker 4: You know, if you have several games on your hard drive,
- 2:04:21Speaker 4: that's taking up a lot of space. And this game,
- 2:04:24Speaker 4: I would believe is gonna be pretty large, so a
- 2:04:27Speaker 4: you're gonna have a lot of download time. I think
- 2:04:29Speaker 4: on that first day it's gonna be a nightmare trying
- 2:04:32Speaker 4: to get it downloaded to your game.
- 2:04:34Speaker 5: And the secondly, you're gonna have the delete stuff you've
- 2:04:36Speaker 5: already paid for as ye, unless you have game stop
- 2:04:39Speaker 5: where it's there. You can't put that stuff on the cloud,
- 2:04:41Speaker 5: right because it's protected or whatever.
- 2:04:42Speaker 4: You can have an external hard drive and move things over,
- 2:04:46Speaker 4: but that's.
- 2:04:46Speaker 22: With the new consoles and the newer updates are the
- 2:04:49Speaker 22: newer graphics and how these games run. Now you can't
- 2:04:51Speaker 22: do it on an external hard drive. Everything has to
- 2:04:54Speaker 22: be downloaded into your internal.
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: What he's saying is he can take the apps has
- 2:04:57Speaker 2: now put him on the external hard drives just so,
- 2:05:00Speaker 2: but GTA six, which you would have to delete that
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: game every time you wanted to play something else unless
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: you have the big enough hard drive.
- 2:05:07Speaker 22: Yeah, well yeah, that's crazy. I didn't even think like
- 2:05:10Speaker 22: about size wise. We don't have an update on that,
- 2:05:13Speaker 22: like how big this game is going to be, but
- 2:05:15Speaker 22: there's no way it's less than two hundred gigabytes. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:05:17Speaker 22: it's going to be massive.
- 2:05:18Speaker 2: What's the ever And by the way, they produce this
- 2:05:20Speaker 2: for Xbox and PlayStation.
- 2:05:22Speaker 22: Xbox PlayStation eventually will be on PCC. Yeah, and the
- 2:05:25Speaker 22: PlayStation pre pre orders are just blowing Xbox out of
- 2:05:29Speaker 22: the world really well. They tell people to play this
- 2:05:30Speaker 22: game on PlayStation.
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: Why because it's better, the controller is better or something.
- 2:05:35Speaker 22: The PlayStation five pro the newer PlayStation faster. Yeah, it's
- 2:05:39Speaker 22: just it came out just the most recent console. It's
- 2:05:42Speaker 22: it's an upgrade on the PS five, so it has
- 2:05:44Speaker 22: the best hardware. But they I just I don't, I
- 2:05:48Speaker 22: don't know. They have two different versions. They have a
- 2:05:50Speaker 22: standard and unlimited standards eighty then limited to one hundred.
- 2:05:53Speaker 22: But here's the here's the other bone head mistake they did.
- 2:05:56Speaker 22: They have blocked off stores and buildings based on what
- 2:06:00Speaker 22: you've pre ordered or what you bought. You if you
- 2:06:03Speaker 22: buy the standard edition, you can't go in some buildings.
- 2:06:06Speaker 21: No way.
- 2:06:07Speaker 22: Yes, you're gonna have the full nap. Yeah, you can't
- 2:06:10Speaker 22: go I have, I have. The place is written out
- 2:06:12Speaker 22: right here. You can't go into write out Customs, which
- 2:06:14Speaker 22: is a vehicle shop. You can't go into a closed store,
- 2:06:18Speaker 22: you can't go into a hair store, can't go into
- 2:06:20Speaker 22: a tattoo store. And you can't go into the store
- 2:06:22Speaker 22: called one I Willie's, which is a like a bar
- 2:06:25Speaker 22: or something like an illegal store. That's how it's described.
- 2:06:28Speaker 22: It's a gun store.
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: Wow, that's crazy. And you have to pay only twenty
- 2:06:32Speaker 2: dollars extra to get that, And that's actually kind of
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: brilliant because nobody's not gonna do that. Nobody's not going
- 2:06:37Speaker 2: to spend the other twenty bucks, right, I mean when.
- 2:06:40Speaker 22: You look at it, it's like, it's just twenty dollars.
- 2:06:41Speaker 22: I'll spend the extra twenty But like, it's just ridiculous.
- 2:06:44Speaker 22: How you can do that when you're the biggest market
- 2:06:46Speaker 22: there is.
- 2:06:47Speaker 2: Are they only doing that so they can they can say, hey,
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: look we released a version at eighty dollars, even though
- 2:06:53Speaker 2: they kind of know very few people will ever buy
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: that one. They're gonna buy one hundred dollars version. Is
- 2:06:57Speaker 2: that what it is? Yeah?
- 2:06:58Speaker 22: I guess the whole decision right here makes no sense
- 2:07:00Speaker 22: to me. I've never seen a game do something.
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: All right, Okay, we've had some bad stuff. What's the
- 2:07:05Speaker 2: good stuff? Just the fact that it's out? Yeah, yeah,
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: that's really I won't lie.
- 2:07:09Speaker 22: Besides the pre order sales, it hasn't been the best
- 2:07:11Speaker 22: week media wise for Rockstar and GTA. A lot of
- 2:07:14Speaker 22: people are upset that gt online isn't coming or they
- 2:07:17Speaker 22: haven't had an update. I don't think these guys have
- 2:07:20Speaker 22: ever played a Rockstar game before. The last two current
- 2:07:23Speaker 22: rock Star games, GTA five and Red Dead Redemption two,
- 2:07:26Speaker 22: both had had an online and both of those onlines
- 2:07:28Speaker 22: have come out months after the story has come out.
- 2:07:31Speaker 22: I think people forget that GTA is a single player
- 2:07:34Speaker 22: experience and that's what it's been for twenty plus years.
- 2:07:37Speaker 22: They want people to play the story mode they've they've
- 2:07:39Speaker 22: worked on for the last twelve years.
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: Wow. You know what I'm saying. I love this story mode.
- 2:07:44Speaker 4: Before I even go online with the game, I'll complete
- 2:07:47Speaker 4: the story mode because it's also training to get good
- 2:07:50Speaker 4: in the game and more familiarity with the map before
- 2:07:53Speaker 4: you start messing around implementing your something of the environment.
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, gotcha. Yeah.
- 2:07:57Speaker 22: And Rockstar games are like movies, man, Like why would
- 2:07:59Speaker 22: you not just want to enjoy right, just sit down
- 2:08:02Speaker 22: and lose yourself for what wow?
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: Days of days? So I mean, and this game is
- 2:08:05Speaker 2: built for the processing for the units that are out
- 2:08:08Speaker 2: there right now. It doesn't have any other like abilities
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: like down the road, like basically you know how TVs
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: were for a while. Oh at seven eighty, then there
- 2:08:16Speaker 2: was ten, ten eighty or whatever. You know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 2:08:18Speaker 2: I seven twenty to ten? Is it that?
- 2:08:20Speaker 8: Oh?
- 2:08:21Speaker 22: GTA five released about eight different times with oh did
- 2:08:24Speaker 22: they really aughing updates? I'm sure GTA six will be
- 2:08:26Speaker 22: here for the next fifteen years.
- 2:08:28Speaker 2: Damn dude, that is crazy.
- 2:08:29Speaker 22: Yeah, when you really think about it, it's so crazy.
- 2:08:33Speaker 4: Ken the driver Texan and negoes f GTA. I'm not
- 2:08:36Speaker 4: buying a code unless my daughter wants the game. Guess what, Ken,
- 2:08:41Speaker 4: you're buying it.
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: Yeah, unfortunately, you are buying that digital code. So you're
- 2:08:45Speaker 2: an Xbox guy, right, Yes, so you're playing on Xbox.
- 2:08:47Speaker 2: You know, anybody that has the PlayStation version or.
- 2:08:50Speaker 22: My brother will get the play station version. Yeah, but
- 2:08:52Speaker 22: I mean I'm Xbox till I die. But Xbox is
- 2:08:54Speaker 22: also shooting themselves in the foot. Before I get out
- 2:08:56Speaker 22: of here, let me tell you that they raise.
- 2:08:58Speaker 2: Their prices again. Nothing but bad news. No, well, you
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: have a bad week. Apple just increased the prices of
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: all their stuff as well. Yeah, they're fifteen hundred ninety
- 2:09:06Speaker 2: nine dollars. Apple or Mac mc pro is now two
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: thousand dollars. It went up four hundred bucks.
- 2:09:10Speaker 22: That's insane. Microchips. Maybe that's what it is. The series
- 2:09:14Speaker 22: X went up, it was six hundred and forty nine.
- 2:09:16Speaker 22: It's eight hundred dollars now.
- 2:09:17Speaker 2: Damn dam dude, can we catch a break again? I
- 2:09:20Speaker 2: have to say it's kind of wild though hearing it,
- 2:09:22Speaker 2: because it's like when you buy an eight hundred dollars TV,
- 2:09:24Speaker 2: you're like, okay, you think about it for a few minutes,
- 2:09:27Speaker 2: and then that you know you're still using that TV
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: four or five years later. When you look at the
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: per day cost of using the TV, it's pennies, you know.
- 2:09:34Speaker 2: So I still believe even at eight hundred dollars, considering
- 2:09:38Speaker 2: what it is and how much entertainment you get out
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: of it, I still think that's I mean, obviously it's
- 2:09:42Speaker 2: very expensive, but you know, it's like buying golf clubs
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: by one set every fifteen years, right.
- 2:09:46Speaker 11: I mean.
- 2:09:47Speaker 22: The biggest thing with it, though, I think it's more
- 2:09:49Speaker 22: we're not accustomed to this, like maybe that this is
- 2:09:52Speaker 22: so new for these prices to be this outrageous. I mean,
- 2:09:55Speaker 22: they've realized how big this, this video game mark it is.
- 2:09:58Speaker 22: Why not take advantage. What they do you know is
- 2:10:00Speaker 22: this They have you totally by the nuts.
- 2:10:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, mean.
- 2:10:04Speaker 4: Listen, listen games and I'm I'm gonna have it, and.
- 2:10:10Speaker 2: I gotta have it November. I gotta have it. But yeah,
- 2:10:12Speaker 2: the funny thing is for me, like I look at
- 2:10:14Speaker 2: my life, I look at Jack's life, we have a
- 2:10:16Speaker 2: number of things that entertain us. Like I have a
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: bunch of things I can do to keep myself entertained. Right,
- 2:10:20Speaker 2: But but younger generations do not have that same span
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: of of likes. They they like video games and that's
- 2:10:27Speaker 2: pretty much it. So they this is their life and
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: nobody knows that more than a rock star. Yeah, nobody
- 2:10:32Speaker 2: knows it more.
- 2:10:32Speaker 22: Yeah, they know their fan base, they know the people
- 2:10:35Speaker 22: they're they're trying to make money off that.
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: They know.
- 2:10:37Speaker 4: We got a text tell me if there's if you
- 2:10:39Speaker 4: heard anything like this, because this is news to me,
- 2:10:42Speaker 4: he says. The new Grand Theft Auto is going to
- 2:10:44Speaker 4: be politically correct crap sanitized by new developers to make
- 2:10:49Speaker 4: it palatable to a larger audience. So they don't expect
- 2:10:52Speaker 4: it to have the same pop that the last one did.
- 2:10:55Speaker 4: But are there new developers and have you heard anything
- 2:10:58Speaker 4: about it.
- 2:10:58Speaker 22: No, I've heard anything about new developers. They have everybody
- 2:11:01Speaker 22: in Rockstar from every division, every part of rock Star,
- 2:11:04Speaker 22: because there's like eighteen different parts of Rockstar across the world.
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: I would think that would be a shotgun to the
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: face for that product. I mean, it has literally made
- 2:11:11Speaker 2: its life on being controversial.
- 2:11:14Speaker 4: They don't need to make it for a larger audience.
- 2:11:16Speaker 4: It already has the largest audience. Yeah, you do not
- 2:11:19Speaker 4: need to water that down. If anything, you could go
- 2:11:21Speaker 4: the other way. I'm sure.
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: Look, guys like me, like I think it's kind of
- 2:11:24Speaker 2: ridiculous that video games are that violent young people play them.
- 2:11:27Speaker 2: But like I'm an old codure comparatively, so I know
- 2:11:30Speaker 2: for a fact they're never gonna go backwards when it
- 2:11:32Speaker 2: comes to content. That would be that would be the.
- 2:11:34Speaker 4: Worst thing that Geld and I'm much much younger than
- 2:11:37Speaker 4: Jim and I love this stuff.
- 2:11:39Speaker 22: There's so much with the times they made their own
- 2:11:41Speaker 22: social media. You can you can scroll through in game
- 2:11:45Speaker 22: and follow people in game. That's how in touch they
- 2:11:47Speaker 22: are with everything.
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: So crazy. Dude, Well, good update today, but you're fiery today.
