- 0:27Speaker 1: in the Dome Oudads have won two in a row
- 0:30Speaker 1: under Darren Rizzy now coming off the bye. Rizzie said
- 0:33Speaker 1: when he met with reporters on Tuesday, he was asked,
- 0:36Speaker 1: kind of the morale of the team, And look, there's
- 0:38Speaker 1: no doubt. I mean a seven game losing streak, then
- 0:41Speaker 1: you win two in a row. You go to your
- 0:43Speaker 1: by and even treated this week with Thanksgiving as a
- 0:45Speaker 1: modified week to give the guys off on Thursday, which
- 0:48Speaker 1: never happens, so then go be with their family on Thanksgiving. Yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: the team is in pretty good spirits right now.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say the morale has been boosted. I
- 0:56Speaker 2: don't really know quite how to put my finger on
- 0:58Speaker 2: the exact reason. I think it's more things winning. Winning
- 1:01Speaker 2: certainly cures a whole lot of that. When you're playing well,
- 1:03Speaker 2: morale's usually higher. I think that's been uh in you know,
- 1:07Speaker 2: just a few short weeks that I've that I've taken over.
- 1:10Speaker 2: That's been the thing that's been Then, probably the most
- 1:12Speaker 2: pleasant thing to me is coming to work every day
- 1:14Speaker 2: and seeing the guys in the locker room and seeing
- 1:16Speaker 2: the emotion of practice, and seeing the guys on the sideline,
- 1:18Speaker 2: and so yeah, I mean I think listen, I think
- 1:20Speaker 2: we've certainly have a morale boost. I think Derek Carr
- 1:22Speaker 2: has played some of his best football these last couple
- 1:24Speaker 2: of weeks. It's a credit to him and the credit
- 1:26Speaker 2: to the offensive staff and all the players around him.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I think our enthusiasm, energy, I think all that's been better.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So that always lifts morale. And then, like I said,
- 1:33Speaker 2: when you win games, it certainly certainly helps.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Yes, morale has boosted. I've won two in a row.
- 1:40Speaker 1: You look up big picture, you're forward seven and with
- 1:44Speaker 1: six games to play, you're you're really three back because
- 1:48Speaker 1: of the tie breaker against Atlanta. You need a lot
- 1:51Speaker 1: of help to get back into the mix to go
- 1:53Speaker 1: to the playoffs, but you got to get hot here
- 1:55Speaker 1: down the stretch. It's interesting looking at this matchup in
- 2:00Speaker 1: particularly because the Rams are one of the worst rush
- 2:02Speaker 1: defenses in the NFL, fourth from the bottom. You know,
- 2:07Speaker 1: we just saw Sunday Night football where Saquon went into
- 2:09Speaker 1: La and ran for two fifty against the Rams. There's
- 2:12Speaker 1: no Aaron Donald, Braydon Fiskes. I remember Braden Fisk from
- 2:15Speaker 1: Florida State was their second round pick this year, and
- 2:17Speaker 1: he's played pretty well. Jared Vers, also from Florida State
- 2:20Speaker 1: there as well, part of that defensive front for the Rams.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Pretty active front. But the thing that really worries me
- 2:26Speaker 1: for New Orleans is the injuries on the offensive line.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I would probably feel very differently about this game if
- 2:31Speaker 1: you told me Eric McCoy and Lucas Patrick were healthy
- 2:33Speaker 1: and ready to go. But as we sit here on Wednesday,
- 2:37Speaker 1: McCoy and Patrick have not practiced, and I don't know
- 2:41Speaker 1: that that looks great for either of them to play
- 2:43Speaker 1: on Sunday against the Rams. As the week goes along,
- 2:45Speaker 1: we'll see maybe that changes. But even if they do,
- 2:48Speaker 1: how healthy will they be? I don't know, and I
- 2:51Speaker 1: just have a recent historical context to look at to say,
- 2:55Speaker 1: man Saints offense was awesome the first two weeks, albeit
- 3:00Speaker 1: an in Dallas. We now know two of the worst
- 3:01Speaker 1: teams in the league. But you played Philly and on
- 3:05Speaker 1: the third offensive snap, McCoy went down and your offense
- 3:08Speaker 1: face planned after that. So yeah, it's massively significant. You
- 3:15Speaker 1: don't have Connor McGovern anymore. We started during that stretch
- 3:18Speaker 1: with McCoy out kind of steadied you at least in
- 3:20Speaker 1: the middle. And if Pat Lucas Patrick isn't there, that
- 3:24Speaker 1: means Shane Lemue very likely play center and Nick Saldaveri
- 3:28Speaker 1: plays left guard. Well, I don't like an interior offensive
- 3:32Speaker 1: line that's Shane lem Youue, Nick Saldaveri, and Caesar Ruiz.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I think the Saints have done a really remarkable job
- 3:43Speaker 1: just getting the whole mood, vibe and results on the
- 3:46Speaker 1: field turned around under Darren Rizzy. But if you can't
- 3:49Speaker 1: run the ball, then you can't set up play action
- 3:52Speaker 1: in this Saints offense, and I think that's where we've
- 3:55Speaker 1: seen some of the plays makable there. But Mark was
- 3:58Speaker 1: Valdez Scanley. I also don't have any context of what
- 4:01Speaker 1: the Saints are going to be like coming off of
- 4:03Speaker 1: Buy under Darren Rizzy for a long time Undershaw and Peyton,
- 4:05Speaker 1: they were fantastic at that. Remember Peyton kind of modeled
- 4:08Speaker 1: it after Andy Reid giving his guys like to just
- 4:10Speaker 1: go away, just leave the building for the by just leave,
- 4:12Speaker 1: don't come at all, and they were great coming off
- 4:14Speaker 1: the buy. I don't know what it's going to be
- 4:16Speaker 1: like with the extra week for a Darren Rizzy coach
- 4:20Speaker 1: team and then a holiday as well. Will see. I
- 4:23Speaker 1: do like the fact that the Rams have to travel
- 4:25Speaker 1: across country. I think it's always a disadvantage for teams
- 4:28Speaker 1: that have to travel that far. One of the reasons
- 4:31Speaker 1: I like Atlanta this week to beat the Chargers. The
- 4:33Speaker 1: Chargers played on Monday Night Football and now at the
- 4:35Speaker 1: travel across the country to Atlanta. I think Atlanta beats
- 4:39Speaker 1: the Chargers outright at home. But this is one of
- 4:42Speaker 1: those though where I still can't shake what happened last
- 4:45Speaker 1: year in LA. The Saints, with a full defense, a
- 4:50Speaker 1: healthy defense, went to LA and Matt Stafford threw for
- 4:55Speaker 1: three hundred and thirty yards. That game was thirty to seven,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and the Saints scored two touchs sounds inside the final
- 5:01Speaker 1: six minutes when they got run. I mean, that was
- 5:02Speaker 1: the quintessential game that defines the Emperor of empty arts.
- 5:09Speaker 1: That is a quintessential gain that defines the Emperor of
- 5:12Speaker 1: empty arts. Off with your head from missing the drop
- 5:21Speaker 1: to the cave, the cave of Dungeon, the cave of
- 5:25Speaker 1: the pit of misery. There it is, thank you, but light,
- 5:31Speaker 1: the pit of misery. Dilly Dilly. They should bring back
- 5:34Speaker 1: the Dilly DEALI that was a good ad, the Dilly
- 5:36Speaker 1: Deally games.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Good do I do?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Like the new guy, the Shane who's your miufology Daniels,
- 5:41Speaker 1: he's good to. Yeah, we're talking about like spilling the beans.
- 5:46Speaker 1: You got tell me the truth together by light? Yeah,
- 5:48Speaker 1: it's really good. Where were we, oh Rams? The same stefense? Right, oh,
- 5:59Speaker 1: Emperor of empty arts? Yes, so Derek Carr threw for
- 6:05Speaker 1: a whole bunch of yards late. You're gonna thirty years
- 6:07Speaker 1: from now to look at that box score man close
- 6:09Speaker 1: loss in la and Derek Carr through for a bunch
- 6:11Speaker 1: of yards.
- 6:12Speaker 2: No he did.
- 6:13Speaker 1: They got curb stomped. And then when the game was
- 6:15Speaker 1: over and the Rams were like, you know, taking the
- 6:17Speaker 1: tape off their knees and everything like that the Saints
- 6:20Speaker 1: score two late touchdowns, because that's what Derek Carr is.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Darren Rizzy was asked about last year's game against the
- 6:28Speaker 1: Rams to prepare for this one.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Gosh, you know, I went back and watched that game
- 6:34Speaker 2: recently and I probably wanted to forget about it a
- 6:36Speaker 2: little bit. And I think the defense maybe takes a
- 6:38Speaker 2: little bit too much of a beating from that game. Offensively,
- 6:41Speaker 2: last year, we had the ball at the plus thirty one,
- 6:42Speaker 2: the plus thirty four, the plus thirty nine, and the
- 6:45Speaker 2: plus forty two and got zero points, and so that
- 6:47Speaker 2: game's completely different. Had we converted the game with a
- 6:50Speaker 2: minute and twenty to go in the first half is
- 6:52Speaker 2: ten to seven, and that's when I think the wheels
- 6:54Speaker 2: kind of came off a little bit there. So there
- 6:55Speaker 2: were some of those second half plays. They had an
- 6:57Speaker 2: explosive on the first play the second half, so we
- 6:58Speaker 2: got a limit dos only can't turn the ball over.
- 7:01Speaker 2: But overall, I don't think we played a great game as.
- 7:03Speaker 1: A team at a baby I mean in that I
- 7:06Speaker 1: didn't he just call out Derek Carr without calling out
- 7:09Speaker 1: Derek Carr right there, But it's still Matthew Stafford it's
- 7:14Speaker 1: still Puka Nakua, It's still Cooper Cup. We'll see if
- 7:18Speaker 1: DeMarcus Robinson plays in this game midweek. That's still uncertain
- 7:21Speaker 1: after his arrest. It's still Kyron Williams. I mean, this
- 7:25Speaker 1: is just not a good matchup for the Saints defense.
- 7:27Speaker 1: The Saints defense which continues to be one of the
- 7:30Speaker 1: worst in the NFL. So, man, if the Saints were
- 7:34Speaker 1: healthy on the offensive line, I might feel differently about it.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But I just don't think the Saints are getting stops,
- 7:39Speaker 1: and I don't know that this offense gets going even
- 7:43Speaker 1: coming off the buy, even at home. If you're you're
- 7:46Speaker 1: gonna tell me they're limited on the offensive line. And
- 7:48Speaker 1: you know our our old fade angle, where a team
- 7:51Speaker 1: that loses their starting center you fade them. They fail
- 7:54Speaker 1: to cover eighty percent of the time the week they
- 7:55Speaker 1: lose their starting center. So if McCoy does in fact
- 7:58Speaker 1: not play Matt a disadvantage for New Orleans. I think
- 8:01Speaker 1: the Rams win it thirty to twenty. I think it's
- 8:03Speaker 1: a little humbling for New Orleans. I really don't think
- 8:05Speaker 1: it's going to be that close. The line on this game,
- 8:07Speaker 1: as a look at it now is Rams two and
- 8:09Speaker 1: a half. But I think this is probably one of
- 8:12Speaker 1: those humbling games you think back to, you know, the
- 8:16Speaker 1: two wins. You beat Atlanta in a game where young
- 8:18Speaker 1: Waiku missed three times, which he never does. And then
- 8:23Speaker 1: you know, you beat the Browns where that was a
- 8:25Speaker 1: close game where Hopkins missed twice actually three times considering
- 8:30Speaker 1: one missed, and you got a second shot I missed
- 8:31Speaker 1: it from five years closer even. And then I mean
- 8:35Speaker 1: that was that was a tie ball game in the
- 8:37Speaker 1: fourth quarter. And then the Saints outscored on twenty one
- 8:39Speaker 1: nothing down the stretch, which is awesome. You get a
- 8:41Speaker 1: ton of credit for finishing strong. I just I just
- 8:45Speaker 1: don't know that this team is that good and has
- 8:48Speaker 1: that much left in them. So you could certainly win
- 8:50Speaker 1: at the Giants. The Commanders aren't aren't playing great of late,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and you get that one at home. You got to
- 8:55Speaker 1: go to the Packers, which is going to be tough.
- 8:57Speaker 1: The Raiders are pretty miserable. You get that one in
- 8:58Speaker 1: New Orleans, but I think that's probably the extent of
- 9:01Speaker 1: the winning for New Orleans. I think you could maybe
- 9:03Speaker 1: win at the Giants and beat the Raiders at home,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but I don't think they get the rams this weekend.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Give me the rams, thirty to twenty over the Saints
